"One way. Bombs away lists of career minor leaguers who get their chances under far Hunt obviously is Trump's. He's number one on the list. Dickerson's number two Darren Rough because he had he played for the Phillies years ago. Okay, you've been around he's ish that way. Um, not Don Solano. He was out of the game for a while, though. That's kind of what I think. Solano's is a pretty good one. Yeah, just like baseball is just absurd finds right. So yes. Yes, Dickerson. Rough, Solano. You don't count floor as he was. Good pitchers. What about like Caleb burger like he wasn't like, but I'm afraid my guys you've really succeeded. Barrett has been okay. Yeah, that stretch of like, scoreless games going back to last year. I mean, he had, like, 2030 consecutive scoring, no shade. I guess I'm just thinking hitters or just Well, I mean, we could do DeSclafani Tyler Anderson. You know, let's just face through Palmer and his guys without debuts. Like Tyler Rogers is another 17 years in the Giants are gonna give me God. Right? Tyler Rogers. Great one There s Oh, it's just I mean, the guy's That's what he does. He's popping tags, man popping tags waving wands and finding dudes. Yeah, you know, I should be on that. You know, every year, you gotta like these kids or, you know, torture or popping tags waving wands finding dude, right being like one of those banners. They hang over the Willie Mays step kind of his motto. Yeah, very good. Well, here you go. Just some sound from last night, because if you did, if you didn't give up on him, they want the darn game. As we as we noted, just there on now we go to the post game and you start with a Austin Slater and Spider Leland has that little play Austin Slater mean he sends out there. Please send it out again Last night. Slater was a pinch hitter now pinch it because Dickerson's do up they bring in a lefty. All right. We'll find we gotta gotta answer. You're bringing up Slater and it felt good. Yeah, that one felt pretty good off about It said No daughter. Yeah, I was able to watch a replay and in the clubhouse with MLB network on but do be actually he was sitting there next to me the next inning. And he was asking me how far I thought I had it. I was like, I don't know, like 3 90 or something like that. But I guess he saw the exit below in the distance on that. Yeah, no longer 3 90, buddy. Ah, lot longer was a 4 60, right? Is that it? Brother? His mustache is off the charts like he is by. He wins the mustache. Even more than you, as he has is pretty good, too. But I'm talking about like in terms of cheese and startling like yes, it's almost works. Laters is yeah, It's just all googly. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, This is a good thing. It's very Ted. Last wish. I was pretty surprised at how quickly it became, like a bushy stash for him, too, because it seems like it's really so guys got that kind of growth, though. It's different dude to dude. You know what I mean? People need to realize that And I are old enough to know when men grew. Mustache is not for irony Purpose. Not for laughs. Not for just Griff San Francisco. Kidding aside was a monster mustache. Tony, How about everyone? How about every middle school teacher you ever had, like, you know, I mean, I never quite understood the mustache phenomenon like I was that somebody would never do it. Would you ever just grow a stache? I've never seen you with any kind of facial growth to men like Mr Potts. Middle School of Second Middle middle school. Drop of the day by the just straight, Tash. You know what I mean? I mean, This is Dad rocked a mustache. His entire career is an elementary school principal, and we grew up with how many great pictures had. I mean, You think I got that X Sparky Lyle? There were guys who were that's more like I'm saying just that mustache like it wasn't It wasn't a big deal. It was just a must. Now it's like, Oh, God Gonna bust. It's ironic now. It's ironic and funny. Yeah, that's yeah. Just rocks the Tash. There you go. There's an example. Reynolds were Reynolds, Tom Selleck Celik for life and again, these words like Oh, my God, look at Reynolds and selling. It was just like there's Burt runs, but they were like Selleck's mustache was like a trademark, though that was part of his whole identity. Think of shelling shaved. He'd have a tan line from his his musket about by the way. What about Dennis Franz? Wasn't he boat rocking out that second NYPD. Very good. He's out. Don't forget seeing his hand. The Nero Franz, courtesy of what's his face. The TV maker, not Spielberg. They Come on. He's the geniuses. Hey, made Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue. He's the Jesus Spielberg of TV. Come on, guys. He's the guy who created Hill Street. Bochco. Steven Bochco couldn't come up here. He's like one of the great TV producers of all time, right there just below a Norman Lear nicely. He's the man responsible showing you, Dennis Francis hands. Well, remember that someone had to do it? Yeah, overachiever that very attractive D A when they when they had the test screening. The audience was like, great. We've seen the hams. Now we need the mustache. Just to complete the whole packet scene where he got into the shower with his sexy D a girlfriend, and there they were half friends his hands. If you're a woman, though, you're waiting all these years to see like naked dudes on TV. Are you disappointed? Ron? Since the genius about Franz was their guy, they're like, Yeah, we'll give your friends naked, satisfy all the ladies anyway, Slater's the hero. "See all of us, and I think we're gonna learn. Ah, whole lot. In spring training about what Buster Posey is capable of just based solely on where he isn't lineup how often he's playing. If they've got him going back to backs. It'll be interesting to see Adam. I want to move on to pressing question Number two, and that is speaking of the lineup. Speaking of where Buster Posey's hitting. I do believe it'll be much lower this year that it was under Bruce Bochy is the Giants lineup better? Against right handed pitchers or left handed pitchers. Keep this in mind against righties. You'll see Brandon Crawford, Brandon Belt, Tommy Lost Ella Alex Dickerson. Maybe new trade acquisition. Lamont weighed against lefties. It'll be Donovan Solano, Donnie Barrels. Wilmer Flores, Darren Rough, Austin Slater and Marie She. O D. Bon. What's funny? Is there so many guys and this is far Hunt's plan and we see this with the Dodgers. You're going to see it with the Padres. So much versatility is what makes them attractive. You can mix and match now I do think When they have the left handed lineup out there against the left handed pitcher. They're gonna miss the designated hitter more than some other teams. I think not having for not having the ability to put Wilmer Flores out. There is an extra bad not having a guy to put have the ability to put Darren rough necessarily out there because Alex Dickerson probably going to start left and that comes back to my left fielder situation with you is if he was the opening day left fielder last year, and if They have a right handed starter for Seattle on opening day. You should see Alex Dickerson in left field, right? Who's the Mariners? Ace to the Mariners Have an ace? Who's on the Mariners. That's a very question like Is this strange? Gordon still up there? No, he actually just kind of minor league deal with the Reds. So, Yeah, they're most prominent player for the last few years, getting a minor league contract in Cincinnati. That's when you know you have built a juggernaut, a team that has produced so many so many incredible players. I mean, we're talking. You know Alex Rodriguez and Omar Vizquel was up there. Randy Johnson's up there. Ken Griffey, Griffey's You and you're doing Martinez bread, but nothing to write home about, You know, the greatest single season team of all time. Nothingto write home about anyway, when it comes to the success of this lineup, I really do think the right handed hitting line up against the left handed pitching is going to be the team with the most success. Donovan Solano. What we saw from him last year is gonna be huge. Brandon Belt was awful against left handed pitching last year didn't see a bunch of it. But under I think was under 1 30 against lefties. So I'm or intrigued by the guys that were brought in last year that we saw success from Mikey, as is going to be out there against lefties and righties. I really like the idea of Darren Rough playing some first base. Against lefties and getting a chance to hit. Maybe you put a guy like like Wilmer Flores over a third. I think that he doesn't play who doesn't play first base on this team. If Darren Rough, Austin Slater, Brandon Belt, Tommy Lost Ella and Wilmer Flores and Buster Posey all had first baseman's mitt. My question is spring training. The question is who doesn't get to play against the left? Which right handed batter you leave it out of the line up against the lefty. I got a place later. I gotta play. I probably Maurice here to bond for me to bond may be the one who he may be. He may be the only guy capable of going to shortstop because you really gonna trust a guy named Donny barrels to go play with the glove shortstop right now, after all the years he made last season. So what you're telling me is what these burning questions I've got No answers about that burning issue. This is this is back to your home. Which light up this better. We like it so funny, I think last year we spent all if we were doing this podcast one year ago today on February 11th, 2000 and 20. And by the way, what? We had no idea what was coming, right? Yeah, no idea. Not only that Not only the covert 19 pandemic was coming, but the Darren rough exist during rough existed by the way we were looking at, like, Yo yo Omar Sanchez will be out there and second for the Giants Billy Hamilton Center. Exactly So the burning questions in February much different than the burning questions at the end of March, right? Yeah, I will say though I'm gonna counter you, and I think that the line up against right handed pitchers will actually be better because Tommy list l, a brain a belt, Mikey Stransky and Alex Dickerson those air for patient hitters. Those are guys who really complement each other. Well, I think that you know the phrase that the sum is greater than the whole of its parts. I think that is particularly true with that group getting with Stella in there. He's what you know gonna hit 2 70 to 80. Probably an O. P s around 7 50. You're not gonna get anything spectacular, but you will see the residual effect of his at bats and his plate appearances further down in the line of I think he just makes everyone else better. And so that's why I take the writers over the lefties. I think that's a really interesting proposition. And I think the power's definitely bigger with the left handed hitting lineup versus right handed pitching. I also do think Gabe Kapler will have an easier time transitioning toe left handed bullpen arms who come in to face That line up late in the game or in the middle of the game, because you'll have the ability to go to Austin Slater to go to Darren Rough to go to Don Solano off the bench. And if you've got those three guys to step in for your time, it was Stella's and you're Brandon Belts are probably not Mike, you scram ski. But if you plug in some of those guys, maybe Dickerson to face a lefty in that situation, Think of Ah, I don't know. In the past, you might seem like a Jake McGee coming in for the Dodgers to see that line up late now, Of course, he's a giant. But if you can plug in some of those guys to face the left handed pitcher, I think waiting the game your your ability to mix and match. Pretty good. I don't have the same confidence with the bench coming in against a right handed hitter late in the game versus a lefty. Yeah, I'm with you on that. So let's move on to our third pressing question. And this is something that I was doing Research for a story yesterday and I was counting all the losing seasons the Giants have had in their history and I was thinking, OK, When's the last time they've lost? You know they've gone under 505 straight years. So I start going back that that period from like 2006 to 2009 or whatever, you know it wasn't great, I think was 5 4000. That's right. That was four consecutive losing once and then I start to go back. You know, they have four consecutive losing seasons in in the seventies or eighties. There. Then you go back to the New York Giants three losing seasons here, the New York Jax were dominant for a long period of time. People forget don't sleep on the 1906 to 1910 New York giants Christy Mathewson. Was was incredible. But then you go back to the New York Gotham's, which was the team before The New York Times They still have not lost..

Alex Rodriguez Ken Griffey Omar Vizquel Donovan Solano Donnie Barrels Randy Johnson Brandon Crawford Wilmer Flores Brandon Belt Gabe Kapler Christy Mathewson Darren Rough Mikey Stransky Austin Slater Mike Don Solano Bruce Bochy Tommy Lost Jake McGee Dickerson

"They put him from the start by telling you this. I have never used steroids. Palmero. His appointment, man, Gold gloves, 500 home runs see him and I, You know, as far as far as that Eric goes, he should be in the Hall of Fame. Sammy Sosa should be in the Hall of Fame. There's no question in my mind these gas belong in but Rafael Palmeiro, man, you talk about a guy who just totally totally screwed herself. Did name is Rafael Palmeiro and I am a professional baseball player. Let me start by telling you this. I have never used steroids today. Today. That's my fair. I've never you stories today. You makes us out one and did. That's terrible. It's terrible. You know, we are going to get good content with next year when when a rod ends up on the ballot will begin some good Jose Conseco content. That's what's gonna happen. Make sure Conseco trying to take down a ride anyway. There's a little little touching what happened with baseball. Also, the Giants Back in the free agent market. Sounds like they could be finalizing a deal. This is for NBC Sports Bay Area. Alex Pavlovic. Add it as well as Ambi bag. Early giants could be finalizing a deal with infielder Tommy lost Ella, who played for both the A's and the Angels last year. This would be a good signing. They're saying it's as high as potentially a three year deal. This'd something we need to look at, because he's a left handed bat. He does not strike out very often hit 16 home runs in 2019, which was a alarming career high for him through 80 game. Was He never strikes out. He can play second. He can play third, maybe a little bit of shortstop. So this could be an asset for the Giants. Maybe Param over third base with Evan Longoria. He could be a platoon. They're also weaken with the platoon splits for Wilmer Flores and don Solano and whether or not he's gonna be a factor in mixing in with those two guys. So that's what we gotta talk about. Kelly, you break trade rumors about this. Is he going to the pelicans? Now? There's some rumors about Lonzo ball being moved. I don't know if I like that deal like that at all. Lonzo ball for for Kelly. Over a junior. Anyway, That's some we can discuss. But on the other side, we're gonna talk to match nine men of the athletic He covers the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers yesterday went on the Pat McAfee show and gave a little bit of context or so he claims to the statements he made after the game following his loss, or the Packers lost to the Buccaneers in the NFC Championship on Sunday, So we'll play the Aaron Rodgers comments for you. Or he thinks he clarified what it was, he was saying, says he doesn't see any reason he wouldn't be a Green Bay Packer next year. We'll play that sound. For you will talk to match Niven, who covers the Packers for the athletic on whether or not her and Rogers will be out of Green Bay And then later in the show. We'll dive back into some. Tommy was Stella and some telly you Bray Junior. All that is coming up. It's.

"I'm real nervous, to be honest with you about tomorrow's doubleheader during the game yesterday, I started feeling pretty good, like It feels like the Giants are playing pretty good baseball. I know when they go on the road. It's not been good, and they go through little stretches where they're not hitting. But it seems to me like they're coming up with the big hit when they need Thio. They're getting it done at home. It's why the concern of going down to Dodger Stadium would be a little bit that prospects a little scary. Even if you're playing with house money. Now that's a serious the Dodgers would have to have. Right. Like Dodger fans can't look around and say it's a 60 game season. This is a chance to really keep everybody healthy on try to win a World Series in a shortened campaign. But if you gotta play the Giants and a Giants team that was supposed to finish last in the National League West Giants team Vegas had 68 wins. 162 game season, a team that nobody thought was going to be as good as they are right now on Capitol Kind of hit on that a little bit yesterday, saying, this team is fun to manage its fun to manage a team that's got some flaws, especially when you're playing well because you find guys falling into spots and falling into roles like Mauricio de Bon, who Andy Bag really spent a lot of time talking about in his article from last night, saying, Hey, things really kind of change. And there are a lot of pieces that were were floating around kind of a more fists at the beginning of the season member you have You have a game where you don Solano with Her. Then he'd be its second thing to be d. H ing, and nobody had a particular role. He had my keys from ski playing center field. The outfield defense was awful. Andy bag early points to the moment when they decided down in Los Angeles or in Anaheim, I guess against the Angels, and it was, of course, the Tommy La Stella game where they Eight and 16. That was the day was the first time this season were Morticia divided, played center field on back to back days, and they decided to go all in and I think we talked about it a little bit here. In the leadoff spot that when you're a young player, and you're being asked to handle hitting and fielding, especially a position, like second base and shortstop, or you've got to be solid up the middle. Ah lot of times. It's it's a big pressure to put on a young guy where he's also got to go out and play a flawless center field, which is one of the toughest center fields in baseball in Oracle Park to place Faras. The wind is concerned as far as the depth. You've gotta play the distance out there. They can constant triples. Eso. He's learning a new position while still learning the position. He was already playing when he came to the big leagues while trying to learn how to hit Big league pitching, and it was overwhelming is on base percentage was down under 300 around that time back at the end of August, and in the last 29 games, he's been hitting 3 23. Excuse me, 301 in his last 21 games. He's a 3 43 hitter right now at a local park and get this. This is a note that bag early found kind of blew me away here Marie Cinnabon in his lifetime, now going back to last season. 303 103 23 batting average. Is this career batting average of Oracle Park now? Not very high until you say that's the ninth highest batting average for any player who ever played Oracle Park with at least 125 bats, and you want to know the names above him. Gary Sheffield Ellis Berg's Paula Duca. David right, Barry Bonds, deejay Let Mayhew, Paul Goldschmidt and Moises Alou. Pretty damn could list of guys sitting above Mauricio Divino again. It's early in his career, but he is playing a damn good center field, saving above average number of runs, they say in the defense of Run, Save Metrics in a big home run last time, probably the biggest hit of his major league career to this point, a tie breaking three run home run that helps the Giants win the game. Samsung Selman finishes it off at the end. A little bit of Tyler Rogers and and Tony Watson sprinkled in there as well. So pretty good win for the Giants again. They're beating teams they're supposed to be. It's all about this four game. Siri's against the Padres this weekend. You got five games left starting today and then four against the Padres with a seven inning double header starting tomorrow afternoon, I guess is what it is. We still don't have word on One who is going to start that serious. But on the other side, we're going to hear a little bit from Gabe Kapler, who seems encouraged. I'm pretty encouraged. I'm feeling pretty good moving into this weekend. We got a 12 o'clock came on Sunday. That's gonna be the final game around baseball. Everybody kicks off for our first pitch at the same time around the league. I love that. It's a very, very European soccer thing. On the final day of the season. Everybody plays at the same time, so that scoreboard watching is all happening and you can have things changing in the blink of an eye across the across the board, so we'll have one team walk off again. Team go to extras through run around second base sort of feels like that's the way it's going to go down to write that we could have a play off team decided on Sunday by a runner on second base in the 10th in and kind of ridiculous, but hey, if it happens for the Giants, I'm all for it right. It's gonna happen right here..

"Then you go, you go Houston and you know that Costco in Arlington anyway, we've made it through Monday. We got through Tuesday and Wednesday, which during football season of the 22 toughest days to get through, right. It feels like you're still right. You still buzzing or you're reeling from from Sunday or Monday, and then you like to just get me some more football. Get me to Thursday because Friday night Friday nights, Okay, because you start getting into the bad you start hanging out. You look forward to your weekend Friday. I can get through. It's Tuesday and Wednesday that a bit of the rough ones. We're over the hump. We get a little football game tonight. It's the Battle of Ohio. And you know, we do the half past headlines overnight. Dave always puts together like you know, some notes or some stats or scores or schedules for the games are coming up for this weekend or tonight or today, things for me to throw into the half past they've put tonight is the battle of Ohio, Cleveland against the Browns against Bangles, Cleveland, Cincinnati and he said the winner gets to leave Ohio. Loser. What was the line? Dave? I lost the paper winner. Yeah, Loser Loser gets Ohio. That's it. 1st 1st place a week in Ohio second place two weeks. That's the line any way on the other side. We've got some stuff We got to get to because Gabe Kapler and talking Giants baseball from yesterday talking about his starting pitcher, talking about what they're dealing with here. And by the way, you may be without Alex Dickerson, who had three hits last night offense with a great showing Brandon Crawford on pace for a career season. Be it in 60 games. Brandon Belt hit another bomb last night has to be feeling pretty good. Alex Dickerson. Three more hits. Danny Solano is leading the National League batting average. Yet again, this guy could be the it's like him and Freddie Freeman right now. Afraid. Freeman thought he was going to be fighting anybody for a batting title This year. It was gonna be Don Solano. And I don't think so, anyway. Freddy for its Ah salata hitting 3 55 after his three hits yesterday, so Pretty maybe just two hits for him yesterday, anyway, Solano lead in the NL in batting average, so we'll get to a little Giants baseball talk. But then we got to focus on the 40 Niners who are dealing with, you know a plethora of injuries now. George Kendall didn't practice yesterday, but the Jets are banged up to the Jets have got a lot of injuries of their own. So we'll hear a little bit from Adam Gays and Frank Gore took the podium yesterday for the Jets to get some good audio from those guys. We'll hear from Causton and we'll hear from Jimmy Garoppolo on him getting to meet Mohammed Sunu. There's money of 40 Niners stuff to get to before Sunday against the New York Jets, Anyway, on the other side, more giant stock Then we turn our sights to the New York Jets and gangrene for your San Francisco 40. Niners. Plenty more coming up. It's a Thursday morning. Oh, dude, we start drinking at noon today. Of the sports leader because Thursday and it's past noon.

"July 26 1970 was Johnny Ventura. Landis a paid us that's kind of a cool note that this has happened one other time in baseball history. How about this one? Alex Dickerson 16 total bases yesterday. His 16 total bases are the most by a player in San Francisco Giants history. The only other player to do that. Willie Mays when he hit four home runs back in April of was in April. 30 in 1961 hey and four homers in that game against the Braves. Anyway, that's the only other time a San Francisco giant has had has had 16 total bases. It's actually the first time a giant has hit. Think they know it was first time the Giants have had a player with four extra base hits in a ball game since Barry Bonds did it back in 2002 on, he did it in Colorado. He also hit three home runs and hit a double, like Alex Dickerson did 23 runs in the ballgame for the Giants, the most it ties for the most in San Francisco Giants history. They did it back in 1990. Again that ties of San Francisco record. Alex Dickerson is the first player to score five runs and drive in five runs for the Giants since Phil Weintraub did it in 1944 against the Brooklyn Dodgers. And again I told you the notes about Alex Dickerson, raising his batting average 40 points is slugging 148 points and his o p s from 6 94 to 80 all in one ball game and like they weren't the only guys to do anything last night, Yet Longoria drove in a couple of ready A couple of hits and drove in a run. Scram Ski A couple of hits drives in a run. Brandon Belt did not drive in a run but goes three for three with a walk in the time that he's in there knots around three doubles at course field so pretty good victory and again, the biggest thing coming out of this ball game. Maybe the fact that the Giants are now in sole possession of third place following yesterday's ballgame, so pretty spectacular stuff. I thought pretty fun stuff and got a decent outing out of Kevin Gausman. It's gonna be Logan Web today who took a loss in his last outing. It's an afternoon ballgame. Actually, 12 10, so little day ball. Get away day from Colorado. Right here on can be our 1045 and 6 80 will have that first pitch for you. He'll be opposed by Kyle Freeland Giants haven't seen a lefty in a little bit. It's like teams are lining up these writings against them. They're hidden left. He's pretty damn good, so I would I would love to see them. Get back to 500. How good would that be? See them. Get to 500. Here it was. Get what? They're at s O. There were 35 games 25 ball games to play yesterday. It was told Murph 36 2 places if you know 14, And what do you say? If you go 14 in 10 or 14 and 12, you might have a pretty good shot. But if you go 15 and 11 seems I can probably get in for sure it may be that razor thin. With how bunched up Everything is across baseball getting into those final, but it's a final four playoff spots. I guess if you're going all the way down to the eighth seed, so it's gonna be bunched up. It's going to be real tight for these teams battling it out, and I wonder when I guess we're going by win percentage. Have they discussed whether or not if a team comes down to a tie on the final day of the season? Are we getting AH, you know a game. What we normally see in game 1 63 game. 61 toe can end up with that, because I wondered about that, for like a second place spot like for the Giants. Go for it, Man. Go for second place. Let's go take down the Padres, despite how much artillery they may have added at the trade deadline anyway, all stuff we're going to talk about and and hear about today. Lots to get to because Gabe Kapler had some thoughts about yesterday's ballgame. Alex Dickerson the most I mean what? He's a blast, right? He's fun. He's fun when he hits his hilarious when he talks. He's get that sort of frumpy sort of funny looking face out there. The uncanny America people just call him the dick. We gotta Dick chant going for him. He hits three home runs. Giants will have Dick Dave's got all saved up there. So we got plenty more for you on this morning, and we'll hear from Alex sticker similar from Gabe Kapler, and we'll hear from Brandon Crawford. No, Don Solano on the post game last night, but again, Alex Dickerson, three home around 16 total bases. No Giant is done that since Willie Mays hit four home runs in a ballgame back in 1961 on the other side, we'll hear from those guys. We also talked about the MBA. What went on last night about that The Denver Nuggets come all the way back. They win the Siri's In seven. They scored only 30 points in the second half of that game. That's insane, and also don't tell the Boston Celtics. They're not supposed to be there. That is a dangerous, dangerous team in the Eastern Conference built for the tournament, and they're playing good basketball. They took it to nothing lead yesterday as well, So we'll stick with the baseball on the other side. We'll have to talk a little football later because we're getting closer and closer. But the rumors about Alvin Comm arrogant moved out of New Orleans. There's reason to believe that maybe the Saints could get better value on him than the Carolina Panthers got with Chris. "The wall out near the area. That's 420 ft from home plate. And he goes into second with a stand up double and that's the game the Giants to feed the Colorado Rockies for the third straight win, and that should do it. Boy. That was pretty fun, huh? One of the best lines I saw last night actually was on Twitter from our guy. Tim Weber, one of the producers here. Fin Tim, you know a mento at KNBR on DH, he said 23 to 5 Final score for the Giants over the Rockies Looks like every Super Bowl square number I've ever had, which I think anybody who's ever done Super Bowl squares feels like you always end up with three and a five, Maybe in eight in there somewhere some weird six or something like that to end the ballgame anyway. Pretty fun game for the job. Since last night 23 to 5 in Colorado. And as we always say, it's like playing baseball on the moon. Good morning to you happy Wednesday to you, Adam Copeland within the leadoff spot is where every week day 5 to 6 A.m.. It was It was fast and furious yesterday, right like Giants came out with a vengeance and all I could think about which I thought was just sort of funny, ironic, kind of cool, I guess, Gabe Kapler said pre game and I guess, he said the post came to that. For I'm not making big moves or moving any of the offensive pieces at the deadline or really any of the starting pitchers or bullpen pieces at the deadline he felt like was an endorsement of the club, and I think, yeah, you could look at it that way. I think you can scope it that way, And that's probably the way you should look at it. If you're on the roster, or of Europe, a coach or or in that clubhouse right and say they believe in us, they're buying into us and Maybe there are other factors that go into that. But I think you know you got to put something up on the whiteboard, right? You gotta write some sort of motivational something up there in your head to get you through. And when you're Fighting for a playoff spot. Every win is crucial, and it's especially crucial now because your division opponents make up so much of your schedule in the 60 game season being that you just played the ale in the West. On a team like the Rockies. They didn't stand Pat. They added Kevin Pillar and you get to see a little bit of him yesterday. So just about every team in the West and I see just about being three of the five the Rockies, the Dodgers and the Padres decided that they were going to go for it now, when the Dodgers didn't make any any huge, huge moves, they did sort of re adjust things in their starting rotation by moving Ross crippling, and they tried to do that over the offseason. If you recall They had tried to move rocks crippling to the to the Anaheim Angels, the Angels of Anaheim. Back over the offseason with Jack Peterson in a trade that eventually fell through and did not work out ended up having to keep Ross Stripling, which I always feel like It's a weird thing, right? Like you here, you're traded. You figure you've been moved and then you come on back in. The lab didn't work out. Actually, it was reported. You were traded. Now you're still just kind of hanging around figure you're there for the rest of the season. They they turn around and move him up to Toronto. They ship him out of the country, or I guess not really ship them up to Buffalo is where he went exactly So anyway, yesterday, pretty fun game in a game like this always yields. A bunch of fun notes and things you could reminisce about going back to historic moments in franchise history, So let's run through some of them. I think the biggest note coming out of yesterday's game is that the Giants are now 18 and 19 and that win But then a half came above the Rockies. There now in sole possession of third place in the USO Dodgers, Padres and then your Giants and something else. It's crazy. I know that you know. Brandon Crawford had a huge game. Brandon Building three more doubles Dickerson a huge game Solano, obviously the huge game. But besides Crawford and Dickerson, Like who actually used yesterday's game to raise their O PS numbers above 800 every player after the ballgame If you're looking at every player in the starting lineup yesterday for the Giants, with the exception of belt and de Bon Finish the ballgame with an O. P s over 800 Crawford would have been the last to reach that feet pretty spectacular. So seven of the nine hitters in the lineup yesterday as the game ends Mike Extreme Ski on 9 86 0, PS. Alex Dickerson, 80 Evan Longoria, a 32 Brandon Belt 1052 Wilmer Flores 8 41 Don Solano 80 for Brandon Crawford, 802 and then Dubonnet and Bart, obviously not playing as much not getting as many at bats. But still They're in the 600. Bottom line is is Crawford and Dickerson went nuts yesterday and it raised there there O P s, Actually, I saw Tom Tolbert tweeted out. Alex Dickerson raised his batting average by 40 points. Yesterday. He reached his slugging percentage by 148 points and his o p s went from 6 94 to 8 80. So, ah, little under 200 points. He raised the O P s all in last night. So let's get to some of the fun knows from yesterday it all started with the first home run really from from Alex Dickerson. 480 ft, which they report is the longest home run by a giant since 2015 since the Statcast era started since they started tracking this stuff more accurately. See more pleasurable case of dick in the vault. That ever thank you. Was it from last night? Is that one day if you last night? It's an old one. OK, actually, it's funny. I guess I guess Dickerson was on with, um With Mark Willard. Last night he touched he'll shoot me attacks because I'm generally sleep after the ballgame any, you know, let's nowhere on late night. We may have a giant's ghastly man. Somebody that you want to cut. Some sounded for here from this morning and we were playing Dick Dick. We will place Dickerson for you. But Willard texted me and I welcome to the techs. And he said, I'm getting dick on the post game and I responded that. I bet you are, bro. I bet you are. I started when Dick came up thanks to you. Let's hear from our not here from we'll start with some of the notes yesterday. Brandon Crawford, Alex Dickerson, Donovan Solano all had six RP eyes in the game that's insane. That's insane, because that's 18 runs between three guys driven it right. And it's insane because nobody in the history of baseball no team has ever had a trio of players with six plus R B eyes in one game since 1920 When our be eyes became an official stat. So since they started tracking this number, they had not had this happen. Where three players driving six in one game. How about this? Alex Dickerson was not even the only guy in baseball yesterday he hit three home runs in a ball game. He hits three yesterday, of course field, Marcel Ozuna, the Braves hit three out at Fenway Park becoming this's All of these are bizarre, by the way, Marcellus becomes the first National League player. He hit three home runs in a ball game at Fenway Park. He also becomes the first nationally D H to hit three home runs in a ball game in Major League baseball history. But get this note It's the first time in MLB history that three players on one day in the same season had two plus home runs or six or more R B eyes. It was Ozuna. It was Alex Dickerson. And then it was Brad Miller of the Cardinals, who had himself a ballgame as well. He had to out and drove in six. Um Alex Dickerson and Marcel Ozuna are the second pair of players in Major League baseball history to hit three homers on the same day and drive in six or more runs on the same day. It's only happened one other time in history. It's always fun when you go back, and you can see that it's happening history and it wasn't some random group of guys like You know, Scooter Genetic memory hit four homers in a ball game a couple of years ago when it happened the other time..

"They're they're they're mentioning while he was hurt, Donovan Solano. They said, abdominal stream or abdominal tightness, soreness. Something like that. Ah, it's no surprise there right there. Back to back games. No errors. Counsel are hidden in the lineup. Just saying I'm just putting it out there. Just put it out there. Maybe you should be d h ing s O. They end up scratching him yesterday. They also scratched Austin Slater. Gabe Kapler. Can you tell us what's going on with these injuries? Just start with the injury of date for Solano and Slater. Neither one of those guys were available for us tonight. We pretty strongly one to get to the off day and make sure that We come out of that offed a healthy Slater has right elbow soreness. We want to be right on top of you stealing it when he swings. And when he throws and as you guys know us a lot about some abdominal soreness that we were attending, too. So you know, One of those guys were available when we get back to San Francisco will be able to get More information for you. But right now, that's why they weren't available for today's game. That's that's really a bummer. Ah, little concerning about Slater because he's finally starting to put it together, and I really This was the thing I didn't want to have happen to him if she didn't want to have a gap. In his his consistency of it, bats right. You wanted him to continue to get looks. I wanted him to play every day we started to feel like maybe he's shaken. That platoon sort of tag that's stuck to him right where he was only playing against lefties had a good game the other night against variety. The look was that Hey, maybe this guy will be in there every single day. And now we're getting closer to having a more solid lineup, which, if you could have guys who hit lefties and righties likea Mikey Stransky, or like Austin Slater's proving her like Don Solano. Fewer. They're less variance and more solid parts in your lineup can be a positive thing. And I was really excited about that in the hope The hope is always that you don't run into a back Williams and situation, right. Remember the remember those glorious 12 days or whatever it was Dave. We had all the Sounders and everything. Plan Return of the Mack. He finally came back from for play. They had kicked him off of the 40 man put him back on the 40 man member of the home run he hit or the two home runs he hit in Anaheim. Way more exciting than by the way I know we'll talk about it because Giants giants we're going back down to Anaheim right after they play the ace three game series against the A's then back to Anaheim to see the Angels, which is what I mean. 13 of 16 on the road. Just bizarre bananas crazy the last time they were there. I think that was the Mac Williamson weekend where he really, really was tearing the cover off the ball. He was exit velocity was insane. It was Crushing baseballs and the number of Brandon Belt of the 21 pitch it back. Remember that thing, which, by the way to me, it's like the longest bad in major league history was hysterical because it ended in a fly on that, like really well, like playing this the 21st pitch. It's a low line drive to right field that was it'sjust got in sort of a funny feet. But anyway, one more shot here from Gabe Kapler. They're coming home. They've got a day off today, and I guess they're going to try to get healthy. This is ah, really Bummer for a guy like Austin's later when I was getting out with William something sorry, Real quick was that I didn't want my fear is that you get a guy who's finally starting to figure it out at a consistent level. He started to do it every single day. He's got his routine. He's got his approach. He's in the zone and then a tweet to his elbow or something funky. Throws him off, and then maybe he's not the same guy when he comes back. I'm not wishing that autumn, of course, but I just That's my fear with a guy getting hurt like that, and that's That's what injuries do. They derail you. So Austin Slater's is a little bit different than Mac Williamson crashing into the wall in the bullpen mounds and the concussion and all that stuff, but still still total bummer. If this guy ends up hitting the island in a 60 game season, That's a huge, huge chunk of the year, some one more from capital here. Shocker. He announced his pitching staff hears his next three starters for this series against the age. I think all three great. Oh, Gausman, and we have earned the opportunity to be your name. Our starting pitchers ahead of time, Um, get get ready for their starts and settle in, and I think people well enough to earn that right? Okay, so we've got our starters for the next the next series. Cueto, Gossman Logan Web feel pretty good about that. Three right. He's taking on the He's going to run their guys out there that you have a writing out there against against battles and loved to look at the numbers match. Chapman is on fire right now. Olsen hit another bomb yesterday. Ramon Laureano, Don't hit the ball anywhere near that guy might not matter. You fly ball into the outfield. Laureano is going to do something with it there. The A's are damn good. They're going to be a A tough team. Tio try to take down. I think a Sousa Lassard is going to pitch in the series. I haven't looked at the rest of the rotation. They've got to figure out what's gonna happen with Sean tonight, too. They're talking about him getting bumped from the rotation and out. Out to the bullpen. And then maybe maybe a ro Bert Smith. Maybe he comes in and he's your guy right hander for the aged anyway, more coming up. We got to talk about the Zack Greinke thing. I really do think that Greg. He's pushing Hall of Fame career and you may keep going because of the lack of velocity because the lack of stress he's putting on his arm there, saying he's such an effective pitcher so effective that he can tell you with his hands and with his mouth. What pitches are coming? And you still might not hit it more coming up. It's a Thursday morning can be are one of 45 and 6 80 The sports leader go through your morning routine with copes..

"For 15 on the cast crew takes like six senses. Pablo in the eighth inning with two outs and two runners on looked Terrible stared down the middle of the plate fastballs and then put both cheeks on one around his eyeballs for an easy three pitch. Strike out. He did not look very good at all. You know who else had a rough night? Right and built off the handful of guys on base. He is not putting together good at bats right now. He's he's a struggle to watch a little bit. But then I look at Austin's later he heard Gabe Kapler talking in that piece there about are in that cut about Austin Slater's effectiveness in the way that he's been training Ah, how much effort he's been putting into guess ups is over 1000 right now and it looks like and I saw this on the The Giants Web page this morning on MLB dot com. You know your SF Giants focus page there that says, hey, may have shaken that that sort of platoon roll that he's hitting enough. Maybe. He's like, Yeah, as in Don Solano, and if you have that, then you get so it's It's so nice to have fewer moving parts, right? And maybe guys really are playing themselves into roles like Kappler and far on have talked about, but we need to see a bigger sample size of this. I don't think we've seen enough so give credit where credit is due. I thought they played a decent game last night, especially with the resilience to come back. But this is what we've pointed to The team can hit. The team can score some runs. It's about getting out. I'd like to not be down 60 to every game. You know, I'd like to not have to struggle for the comeback. Could be nice to have like a 51 lead, then just hold onto it. It has to have it be boring from the other side. Get on my home runs in my effort up early, but anyway, on the other side, we gotta talk about some other The big stuff That happened last night. Damian Lillard, 61 points, moving the Blazers up into a position where they could. They could be a scary, scary team. And a lot of people think. Ah, lot of people think they could really mess with the Lakers in the first round, if, in fact they are the For the MBA playoffs and we've got to talk a little bit about this Stanley Cup playoff Game one yesterday between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Tampa Bay Lightning five overtimes over six hours. On the ice. These guys played they played so late. They had to cancel the game that was scheduled for after that and play it this morning. They're going to play an 8 a.m. local time game. It's 11 a.m. I guess there wherever they're playing back East, But it's an 8 a.m. get here this morning because they said they would need to much time after I guess the way it went down into the Bruins and the Hurricanes were scheduled to play following the Columbus Blue Jackets and Tampa Bay Lightning last night. Because of the social distancing because of the sanitation, they said. It takes and it's funny. They had this exact down to a science, they said. It takes about 87 minutes for them to sanitize and get the rank ready for the next game. Before the teams can come back on and then start their warm up and get ready to play. So the Bruins and the Canes would have been playing. It came last night. It started at, like midnight local time, and they're like, we can't do that. So they punted that game to this morning. You have a game local time A m to get your action in. We'll talk a little bit more about that some of the records in that ballgame and then we have to hit on some of the stuff from the Pac 12 in the Big 10. All of that. Came up yesterday They will not be playing fall sports or winter sports Through the end of the calendar year. We'll see if there are other conferences that follow suit, but their questions what happens with the draft What happens with the league like the XFL? I've seen people floating stuff like that saying. Is this an opportunity for the Rock who just bought the XFL toe? Look at all these players and maybe potentially build a actual developmental league that could pair with the NFL? To get some of these players who are not getting their season and maybe some work. Maybe use this as a developmental platform to try to get guys in the league in the next couple of years. Anyway, This is all stuff. We've got a hit on and we've got so little time to do it..

"To Kobe concerns, and it's tough to fault a guy. We don't even really know how he would have. Fit into the grand scheme of things with the 40 Niners Also, deejay read, Write Niners Wave the injured defensive back. What happened? Seattle swoops in he goes. Yeah, you're with us now. It's just this is what Seattle does, man. I mean, they're goingto there. Just that thorn in my side. Mark. I got a real thing with the Seahawks on Pete Carroll with guns the whole bit, dude the whole bit. The only thing I'm hoping is that they will get a chance to, you know, get out there and have a couple of re matches this year because I'd be hard pressed to find a more intriguing or juicy matchup in either conference as we go into the 2020 season and the Niners. And the 40 Niners If you need evidence, just go watch that regular season finale one of one of the great regular season games, more nail biter to the degree right down to the last snap. I mean, if it wasn't for that delay a game called Dude who knows? Who does Who know Drake Greenlaw has one year under his belt, and he is already forever 40 Niner, right? Carlos Hyde is playing for the Sox this year, he writes revenge, like, Think the one thing I dig about this because there is nothing I did about the Seattle Seahawks, right other than the fact that they Lean into the rivalry like they did. Rivalries in a lot of spots in sports aren't aren't quite the same anymore. Like I know people got mad with Magic Johnson and Isaiah Thomas kind of kissed it. At mid court before game one time and your Giants and Dodgers back when you know back when people could go to the game and do this stuff on there, just hanging out by the batting cage and people are like, Oh, you know, we want the days off Willie Mays and Maury Wills. You know at all that stuff the Seahawks and 40 Niners give it to you to get all day. They lean into this. They do not like each other. They say stuff through the media Mostert yesterday. I love this. He's on in an hour yesterday. He's like we are going back to the Super Bowl. We're gonna win it this time. Like they put their words out there, Ryan, So I love that it adds to the whole thing. No question, man. And I like that kind of mindset. This 40 Niner team has been they know they're good. They're not afraid to say it. I mean, there were a play away. From having a parade down Market street. So it's I don't think Raheem Mostert crazy to talk that way. I mean, I really don't. They are built to kind of pick right up where they left off. The only thing that kind of bums me out. We never had a chance to talk about this more only because I'm a big fan. So selfishly when I get the business of it, I really do when I get the dollars and cents, But it was hard for me to watch partner get leave town that was tough. Totally, but but they've got a lot of depth. There's a lot of depth there. You know, there's there's some young blood coming in as well as the free agent signing, so I can't wait to get two Niner ball. Hey, Sports story number two on a busy top six on your Thursday morning, dude. Here we go, man. Mark Willard, We got the PGA Tour in town. This is exciting, man. The first PG, eh? Championship of the year is at Harding Park, and they're just about to get things going out there. Ah, what you want names? We got him. Tiger kept a speech about Cannizzaro from the New York Post. Our main man out there. Ah, de shambo. Hey, they're all out there. The only thing missing is the gallery. It's a real bummer that none of us can get out there and kind of enjoy the experience. But we will keep you posted. Throughout the day on can be our will give you leaderboard, updates, etcetera and our number one sports story of the day. It's gotta be San Francisco Giant baseball. They snap the three game skid last night in Colorado. Logan Web, Dude, Come on down Logan Web. You looked good out there, kid. Nice five inning outing last night, only two earned runs. And by the way, we haven't even hit this yet, Mark, But you might as well kick off any Giants game at this point. Let's just get that error out of the way. So last night, it was Don Solano in the first inning, of course, that led to a run. Giants total now in the seas. What is a 17 17 years? I think worth 17. They lead the majors, one of our textures, said who had Donovan Solano in the first giant to Macon Air pool last night, Right, and I responded and said, I just wait. I pick whoever touches the ball first. That's what I bet on every night. Whoever gets the ball into them in the first inning, right from that first day is going to be the one who gets the first there. I've got to say like we are kind of beaten up on the Giants a little bit and I think, deservedly when your booty as many balls It is they have, you got it, But you have to be willing to take your lumps. I mean, it's part of what we do. But I mean ball went right through Murphy's last legs like it's so contagious, even opposing teams or committing errors. And I will say like there has been some sloppy baseball just around MLB. It's not specific to the Giants, but nonetheless, they did tack on another error last night, But when the smoke cleared, it was a real nice giant win. Brandon Belt a the big bomb last night. As a matter of fact, Spider Let's kick back in here. Brandon Belco Yard set.

"To make getting a standing on a John Doe zone. Oh, there they are. It was It was a pretty fun moment in an otherwise fairly frustrating game so bad back to my beef here with Kappler on this is my analysis yesterday at Poplar creaking about the 16th hole. I come up with this and I go, you know. I was actually texted Murph for a little bit too. I think the Giants are not a terrible offensive team. They clearly have proven that they can hit. They can string together a series of hits, however, being a good offensive team. I'm not saying they're powerful team. They're a team that has the ability to leave the yard. But they're definitely a string together a group of hits team they're capable of completing a rally or putting together a rally or put in one of the gap. They've shown that in the 1st 12 games, right, it's not. It's not an outlandish thing to say that their offense is not inept that they're okay. They can hit. There are moments where the bullpen looks really good. And the starting pitching is still extremely questionable, which is why they have not gotten anybody into the seventh. That's why nobody's been scratched out. Part of that is their style. Part of that is Gabe Kapler, saying, I'm not going to do that right now till the guy proves that he's capable of that. I don't want more. Johnny Cueto has to do to prove that Medical has been proving that for like a decade in major league baseball that he should be out there going into the sixth inning, even if he's got a face Fernando tattoos junior for 1/3 time, So the takeaway I'm coming back with here is that because the Giants with 16 errors In the National League of the Sloppiest team in the NFL. Tyler Heidemann, who has not spent a lot of time with the big League level, had his third catcher's interference yesterday, third in 12 games, and by the way, he hasn't played all those games. Sama's Don Solano like dons, all exhausted from playing 10 top behind its back there. Ah, making Merritt's because you get the catcher's interference causes an error because the guys to reach base Because of it. By the way, I was thinking about this yesterday when it happened. I couldn't believe it. And John and Dave were beside themselves from the radio did say, And this is this is unheard of that you get three. Catcher's interference is like that. No, I understand that, like Used to catch in high school in like adult league ball and stuff. When you're in the squad, the closer you get to a hitter, the easier it is to steal a strike on the bottom of the strike zone. Like the closer you are to the batter. The quicker you grab the ball, the more likely you are to have a pitch called a strike. Now again. I've never played professional baseball. I've never played Major league baseball. But in all the years I've played little league, and in all the years I've played high school and travel ball and Summer League I don't think I was ever once called for a catcher's interference now. Catcher's interference is a tough deal. I was once at a ballgame when I was like 14. Planning a royal high school would be 15 years old in a summer league game, maybe baby with whatever it is And Ah Ah, this kid is catching whereas on the other team, and we had one of our big hitters up 45 or something like that. This kid hacks at the pitch. And the catcher reaches for it. Guy makes contact with the catcher's glove hand and he had to have broken this kid's hand. Quote comes flying off. Kid goes writhing in pain, and the worst part about that is can she gets charged with an error? And then you get to take your base. This kid breaks his hand club goes flying Runner goes down to first. So then Dave. They throw in the backup catcher to come in, obviously. And of course, when you're like, 14 years old, they gotta like wave to the right fielder, right. He's the backup catcher, right fielder is going to come in. Put the new craft kit on the bench. Out in right field. Send the new kid out to write. Send the kid who's the first base coach with the batting helmet on right side about to right field. Put a new catcher in our culture immediately stole on the new catcher. That's that's gamesmanship, by the way, not wait until right before first pitch to announce your starting pitcher. That's gamesmanship, right? You can get a new catcher in there. You put a new dude in there. We're coming to write at and we're going to try to steal in him. Immediately. But my takeaway for all of this is that the Giants do things well. Yeah, sure Coaching has to do with with hitting well, coaching has to do with having an approach with getting into a groove with how to see a picture with, you know. Ah, Mikey screams. He talked about the virtual reality hitting that he did. Against Chris Patrick on and he said, I've done pretty well against him in the V R room, and so AH, it made it easier to hit that home run off of him last week against the Padres. But my takeaway is that the Giants don't really do anything well. That it seems managing and coaching can effect. And what I mean by that is a good defensive team is a well coached team. They never say Well, the coaches rolls the ball out for good defensive teams and lets it happen right and they've got good defensive players on this roster. Wilmer Flores is not some like elite fielder, but he's a pretty good fielder Brandon Crawford's multi time gold Glover Brandon Belt is a dude who should be in the Gold Glove conversation. Every single year. Evan Longoria has won a Gold glove in the past. Usher out Great Don Solano is, but he's been fine..

And Clayton Kershaw debuted yesterday five and 2/3 scoreless six strikeouts. No walks in a three Nothing Dodger win. You'll see him soon. Morpher Giantsmanager, Gabe Kapler and yesterday's starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija, as we return The leadoff spot 30 something with an old soul continues. Sees Adam Copeland on the leadoff spot here it on your Google home. Smart speaker by saying play KNBR, people check it out. Only cast pretext line. Don't want to ignore it before we get we get back to some of this. Gabe Kapler sound from yesterday 661 checks in It's the same guy. I was texting in the last segment. Admission I mentioned Melky Cabrera. Why didn't that I even mentioned milky? I think I mentioned scoot around and I think I think then milky came up. I can't remember what brought milky up. WeII. We just just just talking 2012 or whatever it was, anyway, this guy says, you know, back in 2012 when Scooter Rose showed up. That's the feeling he's getting with Donovan Solano. That's what it was. Was that Don Solano is is kind of like Scooter right now. He's a must watch it bat. You're surprised when he doesn't get a hit. A surprise when he doesn't reach base. He doesn't swing and miss. It seems like ever. He's a competitive at bat in this guy's like he's over 30 right is only 31 years old. I think he's been around for a minute and Mikey Stransky said last week. He's one of the best hitters he's ever seen. So Anyway, we were talking then 2012 and Melky Cabrera came up just a little digression and six inch one Since now, you got me looking up Milky stats. He says. Remember this month in May of 2012. Check this out. Okay. Camera in the month of May in 12 2051 hits in one month, 51 hits. What is that? About 51 hits. He goes deep. Three times. He had five triples, Incredible stuff. For 20 for 29 average for that month of May back in 2012. Pretty fun stuff more people checking in Oakland A's J checks in 95 simply says, Copes. What's your thoughts on my boys in the green and gold? We had another texture earlier, who was asking? Why aren't we talking more? A's ball doesn't really matter. Yeah matters. They're damn good team, but we are the San Francisco Giants flagship was a lorry on a bomb yesterday. Liam Hendriks nailed it down. I don't know what to make of the ace. They've been really lacklustre little concern about Matt Olsen. Hey, hasn't been hitting. It seems like since that walk off Grand Slam to start the season, so I think they'll come around. But again, this is a season where teams don't have a chance to just count up. You can't fall flat. If you're a team that's supposed to win. Look at the giant's right now. For 500 there in the mix, right. It's insane, so you don't have time. He'd get 40 games to play really right 40 to play and they're basically all against your division so we could end up with a lot of teams around 500 is the other part of this right because the schedules Are so imbalanced and you're only playing teams than your division. You're going to end up with some, like the Yankees were gonna run away, even Yankees or seven and one right now, By the way, they're talking about this win percentage thing like if teams don't play the same number of games, it's going to come down to win percentage. First of all, how lame is that going to be when we're trying to figure out win percentage the final week of the season and we're going well. This team's only played 44 games and our teams played 56 games or only trailing by 7/100 of a point the final game of the season. So Hundreds of a point. We've got to make that up. Just be lame. Just be terrible to have to do math to figure out where you are in the standings, but I was looking at the standings and just sort of funny. In thinking about having it all decided by winning percentage, you know, is leaving the nationally East right now, right? The Florida Marlins there to one, the 6 67 winning percentage. So I assume that at some point it'll have to be like qualifying for a batting average, right, like You can have the you know you can't get called up in September and lead the league with a 5 50 batting average. Because you had the most hits in a month or me. You have to qualify for the number of at bats. What, Imagine the same thing will happen with with with the winning percentage thing like at some point of the Marlins, blaming 35 games. I don't think they can let them into the postseason. Even if they win 20 of their 35 I don't like How could you do that? You didn't play a whole season. Everybody else did on. You did not. And this is the problem with the inconsistencies right now. Somebody else checks in here for 15 says Hey, can you give me an update on your LASIK? Appreciate that I went down on Friday Got my LASIK surgery with Dr for long. It's incredible. I got to go for a follow up today. But he is quick is the next day you take these little patch things off your eyes and I'm seeing better. I've ever seen the most. Incredible thing to me was I went back down to San Jose to see him for a follow up on Saturday as well is the like The colors of leaves on trees is baffling to me Looking up and seeing how much detail on how sharp things are. It's incredible. We have no idea how much you're missing out on until you see what it's like to see normal at 11 wearing a mask without without fogging up my glasses. That's I don't know It's it's It's incredible. I appreciate you checking in. I'll let you know more. Apparently it supposed to keep getting better. So, playing golf tomorrow we'll see if it's Ah It'll be That'll be the good excuse If I if I finally play well tomorrow, then I'll be able to say Yeah, that was the problem all along. And if not, then I'm going to come up with some other excuse problem with my cleat problem with my spike. We're we're breeze today, all sorts of excuses to come up with for golf a little dewy out here. I don't like playing with this much do Max of the craziest stuff anyway, let's get to it. One more piece of sound here from Gabe Kapler. From yesterday, sort of wrapping up the thoughts on yesterday's 95 lost to the Texas Rangers. Here's Kappler talking about Jeff Samardzija..

"But not one you'd expect out from my chest, Krinsky said. Don Solano might be one of the best hitters I have ever seen constantly putting barrel on the ball. We were saying in the last break, or the last segment that Donovan Solano with the three run home run, three run home runs the most devastating thing to an opposition in baseball. I know you can say, Well, the Grand Slam that's four runs. That's absolute backbreaker. No question. But in my mind when the basis her loaded Uh, you're sort of resigned to your fate, right? You could be sort of believe, especially less than two outs. Fewer than two outs. You put a ball in the air going to score right, You bootable. There's a run that's coming in. You don't even need a hit. You throw wild pitch or a passed ball and the ball comes in right. The wheels can come off anyway, with the bases loaded with two on in the eighth inning. Onto out. By the way you're sitting there thinking boy, we can get out of this ball game. San Diego Padres fans are going Q B one Lucas, former intern of the candy are more than just sitting around going. We can get out of this thing here all we need. All we need is one good pitch to get out of this and Donnie Baseball said Now now I'm leaving the yard, three run shot that made it 6 to 6 at the time. And then in the bottom of the ninth. Here came my keys from ski tow. Walk it off and win the ball game. Quick check of the caste Pretext line. By the way, our guy Chris Kelly of Saturday Night Live Out of New York is already texted me this morning hit me before the leadoff spot started. Now his clock is a little better. He's you know, not slamming anybody else. But it was. It was like almost 8 a.m. When Chris sent me the text, he wasn't up to five. Maybe Iwas Channel to U. C K out in and out of New York anyway, he was fired yesterday to watch the Bumgarner start against the Rangers. And he already hit me this morning, he said. I was loving the socially distant celebration at home plate, which yet so the ayes have that walk off last Friday and then find a lot of heat because they were jumping on each other and not socially distance when celebrating, they would not tell us what they did for Kayla Berg are when he got his first big league win down the Dodger Stadium last weekend on Gabe Kapler said that they reinforce from the like the Training staff for the health and safety people at the Ballpark yesterday. They talked to the team about walking off in about how you need to behave and how you need to celebrate. Well, Stransky hits the walkoff. He comes around the bases, and there the Giants were standing around. Kind of jumping in the air doing it almost looked like the hunter Pence. Daniel Bryan. Yes, yes, yes, right. Just kind of Ah, backed away from the home from home plate, but still a fun celebration anyway. People checking in on the Cash Creek text line for 15 on R R Thursday. Tag out for our first breaks is Hopes and ODM definitely drinking a noon today. Cheers to you guys. Yeah, that man have one on us. 707 checks. Instance. I keep watching that Donovan Solano bomb. I don't know how he turned on that, let alone hit that out. Let that bat play. I'm in dude stand a Solano County stand up today. It's only checked in and said that I think, too. They said yes, Tastic and one other person said almost turned off the radio in the eighth. I love baseball. Great. No clock. You got to stay. That's why you can't walk away. I have told the story before my little brother in 2014. I went out to Ah, playing Game six, obviously, in Kansas City of the World Series in my brother goes down to a Tew Civic center over by City Hall, where they put up the big screens, and they've done it for warriors that Jennifer other Giants world. Siri's And it was a day where the Giants are up 32 with a chance to win the World Series, so I think.

Yeah, but distracted by that beat Copes has playing there. It's Yeah, It's very danceable. Murph. It's very studio 54 circa 1978. I feel like when I want to talk about the crowd to get like the maximum impact. I got to adapt the new style that I adapted from. Ah, Gabe Kapler. I'm gonna call this masked up, Mac, Hold on one second. Let me try this, okay? We're going props here. We're going prop comedy. And I got to cut this interview short way and we came on the air. Yesterday was another one last night, but he was very aware yesterday. What he was doing was hold on a bit, wants to step to the side and adult conversation with Would Justin Veal, I think, but he I believe he kept the headset on because Kipper was talking about how he believed Now Don Solano was its second base in capital. Yeah, humor. Sanchez had a back tight, and that was because he had said to the cooking guy, because hang on, guys I got I got to do something here. And you know if he had to go to the restroom, or, you know, air popping a peanut back update on Salerno. He was still listening to cooking type speculating about you, Omar Sanchez, you're on. "The Beatty journey drafted out of high school went back to vandy and and took probably longer than he thought to get his first big league win at age twenty six but hey, and you love to have your young pitchers Bumgarner twenty years old in the World Series twenty one years old and the World Series. Whatever doesn't always happen that way. But if beady arrives at age twenty six twenty seven you, can, you know, you can look at a good five six years of, of prime pitching from him. You hope he's going to be part of the future is trying to explain that to the kids yesterday. Probably as they sort of drift in and out of awareness of the giants like this guy if they get this thing going with the Bart romo's hunter Bishop generation, this is a guy that they hope to be a part of it. Like you said, maybe a week or so ago. Maybe it was a couple of starts backward talking about beady and you said, man, he supposed to be an alpha. That's what you said. And hopefully he will become that. I mean I liked what I saw. Last night. I didn't have a good feeling going into that game. So what he showed me. At least I was more than pleased giant five and five dodgers in ten games. I'm looking at the dodgers this year. Only two teams have winning records against the dodgers. This year that the cardinals copes went four no against them. There's a four-game sweep that was in Saint Louis. Maybe I didn't. I don't remember that. And then the history enough the angels are two against him. Who just got just don't you know, by the we take baseball seriously. It's today. It hardball halos. The halos are kind of like to the dodgers. What the White Sox kinda like art of the cubs in terms of popularity which leads to more sound that might be found today. Some hawk Harrelson Sandra to give for you guys copes, man. We'll take it as you pointed out this morning, though. The dismantling is coming soon. So enjoy why you have it yet. I think you said they needed seventy nine wins, seventy four to get to get both. Ooh. That's okay. That changes the equation, then so forty three and twenty six states still unhappy. It's really hard to predict when you're probably going to see some Andy swore at some point you've probably derived back in the rotation. Johnny Cueto will come back. Bumgarner will be gone on like Johnny Cueto. Let me do this math again. Giants ninety two games left, so forty three and thirty nine I mean it's not crazy, but it's not you'd have to have a pretty damn good stretch here, especially because after who knows who's to be on the damn. You're gonna have to win them all like in the next month. Everybody's gone after that guys we're getting into the situation now. It's kind of like the one month clock. Too far Hans defining moves, man. I mean thinking about it last night. He gets credit for this little stretchable, they're playing because he got Stephen vote. He got Tyler Austin those guys are better players. Those are better. Those are better scrap-heap pickups than Bobby Evans was doing. I saw note that said the roster hasn't changed in twelve days at which is kinda funny, but it's also like considering I was talking to my brother yesterday. And he did remember. Girardo paro was on the team. Do not really. Remember? Remember that three or four updates day, this got moved this guy. I see you are on a par. I raise you yen. Jarvis alerts. Era and I'm still baffled. When I Don Solano up their winnings. Don Salona do enough that we're number seven to of a prestigious number. Erin. All tear have an at bat, Aaron al-tair had net, Pat bro. What do you give a Williams, Harris? We're, we're gonna have to play Marcus all those age chug drinking game that we're gonna have to like, see who can name the more of secure twenty nineteen giant in like every time you name one, you have to cough from Markelle cells whereas as Abby Avellino played this year. This throw names on the table and say giant or not a giant giant or not Drake trading trading drank. Drake giant wrong drink Harris. That's the rose age qua- right there. Anyway, dude. But yeah. Man, you know it take what it's worth. And like I said vote Austin the walk last night, one to run vote helped him win that game over the weekend. You know, a couple of scrappy pickups, this Merson Austin Austin Jackson, that was this year, wasn't that was loud. I was laughing. Drink now off drift to twenty. Eighteen. Cameron made and he's doing pretty. He didn't touch the bitty. Scott stare right before and after drinking wine. I mean that's bro. Got cope what he's getting by car. And of course, the signature ones are Connor Joan microwave lunch. Forever giant CJ? Conor joe. Really polite. Very stately at the table, Mercer great man about the way I don't know was impressed. He also was very fashionable. He wore a suit. He wore like a dress shoes. No socks. Yeah. Waiting for him to get his big rig, then they dumped them. Yeah. Yeah. Took like what twenty games are now you're out. How about him walking into a ballroom, you know, city was in standing next to some kid, what am I doing next this ten kiss? You look for your mom, and he was like, what city Miami Cincinnati Sega gave him McCain's number. Sure he was psyched about that. I'm sure what's fifty. Fs taken. Hey, watch any college World Series, bro? I don't think you're into it. I don't care. I'll wait till the Little League World series gets on. I'll be all. Ramps up on Sarah, you guys want some free entertainment, come by Boyle park, Saturday, the stress begins stress. The fun begins say the fun about kids about the kiss about the coaches pulling their hair out are ready. Maybe it's about the parents, depending on depending on how you look at it. And depending what your role is in the all-star machines, share with you, the greatest little league ever got because when you're the manager of specially when you get to all stars because, man, you either doing this, you're either a cutting a kid or be not playing a kid as much as the parent thinks. So one of the veteran all star coach said to me. Hey, man listens, thankless job because the parents are you're gonna hate you from there. They're gonna hit you from the stands or they're gonna hit you from the fence. Right. Meaning the kids who are on the team. The parents sit in the stands. He's not using my kid. Right. He's not hitting him in the right position. He's not playing and then the ones who get cut. They watch the game from the outfield fence and they mother blanket from out that all time. Yeah. So there's pretty much. That's it. You got about a zero percent approval rating. If you win all your games. You still suck because a lot of parents are like, well they didn't play my kid. I don't care if they wanted a lot of fun should be a lot of fun. Happy Father's Day was in my head all around my kitchen, after my nap on Joel say that happy father. I was laughing to myself, I said to myself, and I sat up when I went got some getting even to do that. Don't question maybe laugh open up the fridge..

Because obviously one of the themes today has been the MAC Williamson return, and how excited everybody was bombs away has been played for him in the six AM eight AM, our we'll do it again in the ninety for everybody else out there. But the other story was Madison Butler six innings three run hit ninety two on the gun. Magic Mike Morris with the slick back here and there in the unbuttoned top button. Now, see? Can't do that. Yeah. His ninety two is kind of smaller like ninety four ninety five. It's guys your first one. But now. Good to admit. I don't have a Morse me. We need. Paulie MAC that. I'll have him study more. By the way, three eyed, raven three eyed raven. Rave award. Buster only on the Bumgarner situation. The more that I talked to people the more. It's clear. The giants are open for business right now. I mean, I know he only seventy bats only hitting two five or whatever. But why would a guy like that? Who's energy is second mean, they weren't hit. Well, but like you think you would give them forty forty five days even crew can that? Usually you give veteran a little time to your it out. And then they that's it cut some today. It was that they weren't using him. They said last week he was banged up. And now maybe banged up. But that's why with Kratz on the way out to. I mean, he's on the he's on the fan him. I mean, I'm just saying there are moves that far on made these admitting now, hey, these guys he said it is one of his quotas. Yeah. I would say I'm surprised that those guys are not here at this point for the for the forty five to fifty four demo this Vinnie Berina would say on on welcome back kotter. He would grasp his cheeks and say, I'm so confused when he would be baffled by Mr. Khader question. That's how I feel sometimes about the moves. I wouldn't expect it a little little doll. Running back in the day sitcoms used to have a running bit you ever see the TV show extras on H B O starring Ricky surveys. I like him though, he did a he did a whole bit about being becoming a sitcom star who fell on his Goto line was we haven't laugh and the whole studio audience would laugh hysterically, so everybody has their go to line, and you kinda watch a welcome back. Kotter waiting for Vinnie to have for any to have a moment where he caught her would say something, and it would just be a mildly complex statement. And he would pause and say, I'm so confused. HBO show where it's done like it's a a real show like an entourage type very much reality. Okay. So we're gonna do kill now is break.
