"Happy April full. Thank you, buddy. My kids were up 'til all hours trying to come up with pranks on. Hey, were they successful? No. It didn't keep us from trying cellophane over the toilet. I mean, this kind of stuff. Wow. Oh, yeah. That would have been messy. They took fevers the batteries in the remote control hall TV. Oh, oh, yeah. Yes. I mean, there was a lot of hijinks going on. Jake's kids love this day k to get so into it. I'm like you guys need to, you know, come on. John. I was talking to a friend of mine who's a fourth grade teacher the other day, and he said this is the worst day of the year. Yeah. Yeah. Mr. solid sow you know, your underwear showing. April Fool's, right, Mr.. So and so I just started a fire in the other room. Ha, April Fools. He didn't really start a fire and he didn't take him serious dangerous. Yeah. Watch your chair for some tax write every teacher around Zona. I know it's crazy crazy. Hey, john. What do you make of this? Joe Biden story he's not running for president yet. But you know, he's been photographed with different people and their women, and he is close to them. An image of him kind of leaning in towards women specific cases. Yeah. This is coming out now because Lucie floor is the former democratic nominee democratic nominee now for Lieutenant governor. She made the allegations last week in a story that came out for New York magazine writing that Biden made her feel uneasy gross and confused in two thousand fourteen at a campaign rally when he kissed her on the back of the head and breathed I guess Br sniffed her from behind if you will in the head. And now a second woman has accused Joe Biden of unwanted touching. This woman said he pulled her into rub noses at a twenty two thousand nine fundraiser in Greenwich, Connecticut, what do you make of this John well in the era of me too? I don't think it's very good. I think, you know, a Biden responded to it. It was kind of an interesting response. I think you've got to always wonder who wants Joe Biden out of the race. I mean. I think that's always part of the part of the calculus on something like this. I'm not diminishing. What Lucy floors said? But I, but you know, there was some evidence. She may be on in in Bernie camp. Have you heard this? No, yeah. She may be as part of part of a fundraising thing for Bernie. John John, you really think that Joe Biden would have a chance of even getting the democratic nomination in twenty twenty. Oh, I do. And in fact, I think he's maybe the most formidable in terms of somebody who could be Donald Trump. And the reason I say that is because the industrial midwest, I think would be very very connected to a Joe Biden type approach. He's the guy who can get in there with the working men and women, and that's the democrat party has kind of lost. And I think on the labor side, and and the industrial midwest, which went Trump's way, I think he could really cause trouble for Donald Trump. I thought all along he's the most formidable out there. Hey, John, John hooks. Joining us FOX ten joins every Monday three or five should fight him. Be doing this stuff. What he what he does is? He puts his we've seen pictures of he puts his hands. He's behind a woman, and he puts his hands on the shoulders, and he he I think he's an emotional guy. And I don't think this is sexual in nature at all. Is it inappropriate? And should he be? Doing it. Well, he probably shouldn't be doing it. But I don't think he's some disgusting pervert. And I think the way he's being portrayed. I think partly used to maybe get them out of the race. I don't think I agree with that by this. But certainly it's not something that I would do I think you would do. I mean, he's just he's just an older guy who gets very emotional, and maybe he made a few people uncomfortable. But I don't think he's doing it. Because he some predator. Yeah. There's something there is a creepy factor though. I mean, I think floors put it. Well, if this had happened in a workplace think about this would you guys think about doing that at your workplace? Absolutely not. Okay. It crosses the line. You're invading somebody's personal space without their permission or consent. He John, but does your invitation. But haven't you noticed he does it on television? Or when someone's there it's not like he's been accused of this like from from. Oh, no, it's out in pump. It's totally in front of pliable. So I don't think he feels like he's doing anything wrong. Because when he does it it's on television. Been photographed. It's the one the one woman in the White House where he had his hands on her shoulders. And he, and I guess he's really he and his wife are very tight with with Sam it was an appointee an Obama appointee. Do you remember the hash and everybody? Yeah. Yeah. Started the whole creepy Joe stuff. And she said, she should've statement today and said, you know, he was very comforting. And on a day that was stressful. And you know, she really came to his defense completely opposite than what we heard this weekend from from the woman who's running for Lieutenant governor in Nevada who did the did the article, I think, yeah, it's not something that in this era of metoo, particularly in the Democratic Party. That's going to go over, particularly well, especially in an environment where the woman is to be believed. Right. We went through this with the nomination of cavenaugh. So I I just think it's a really tricky area for him. And he may have to address it again before. It's all over there may be more stuff out there who knows. But it's definitely not a good thing right on balance. If your candidate you wouldn't want that out there John hooked joins us each and every Monday at five o'clock, he's a FOX anchor four or five and nine o'clock David stringer resigned last week. It came out the next day of what what I think he resigned four. He knew that this was going to come out and made public when in one thousand nine hundred three he was arrested for basically solicitation of fifteen or below boys. Fifteen years of age or below boys Hannam and paid them for sex acts. Why does this guy feel the need to defend himself a two fifty three AM on a weekend? Is that is that good for him? Is that bad for him? It may be what he felt he's gotta do to survive. I mean long after he's out of the legislature. This guy's gotta work and find gainful employment, which is going to be difficult. You know, this is really disturbing stuff far worse than I think any of us thought all or had any hint that it went this far. He was never convicted. I just can't believe the times were so different in the early eighties. I think nineteen Eighty-three that that, you know, this kind of stuff doesn't result if true in in big jail time prison time, right? I mean, this was child rape. This was this was serious serious stuff as allege now he's saying it never happened. The kid. The accusers were not credible, blah, blah, blah. Whatever happened it, obviously. And who knows what the judges motivations were at the time. He was able to kinda skate by this thing. I don't understand it. The whole thing makes no sense. Understood to be that serious. How you get something expunged? And yet there are still court records. That's what I don't understand. I mean, I'm not I'm not trying to defend David stringer here. But I mean, this whole thing has come up in a weird way that this guy pled to a lesser charge. Then you had people saying, well, there's more to the story. And then the story comes out he resigns and there's. There's documents and documentation hundreds of pages of this stuff. How? They find it. I think what they got were police reports before the court record. I don't know about the court record that that either exists or doesn't, but they were able to get the police report. And that police report, I mean, did you guys read that? Yeah. All off it is really disturbing specific. It's specific enough. If I were a DA, I go to trial with it. Yeah. Right. Exactly. And I don't know why that didn't happen. And I don't know maybe the mental capacity of the one kid there were two boys involved that he had met in a park and solicited the one boy mentally challenged in some way. Maybe that would not result in a credible witness. And then the other boy who knows what the situation was there. But you know, this was paying these these kids repeatedly according to the police report, and it's just it's damning stuff. Now. There was a lot of talk at the capitol. How do we better that the people who represent us? And I think if you've got a court record expunged, I don't think there's a lot you can do at that point right there. There's not a record to search. So I'm not sure that that would have solved this whole thing. All right. But how about this? If he came out and continue to be the racist that he is. And if these this nineteen Eighty-three case was leaked out. We didn't know exactly what was in it. If you're the Arizona legislature. Don't let him quit bouncing fire him get him out of there. Tough. That's tough to do though. We saw Don shooter. Yeah. You've got a duly elected guy. And even the legislature wants him out as a body. They can strip him a fist committee assignments, very tough. I'm not even sure what the mechanism is to expel them from the legislature. That's pretty tough road. Don shooter just follow that follow that path and do it to David stringer. I mean, it happened before you could have done it again. Yeah. I mean, it's not an easy deal, and it's a distraction. Yes, you're right about all of that. They they needed more proof than they finally got it and when confronted with it, he did the right thing, and he resigned. What if he didn't resign? Then maybe down the road as nor did with shooter. Or you've got no other choice really at that point. Yeah. All right. John hook FOX ten. Thanks, man. We'll talk to you next week at three zero five you gotta watch your backside today because these kids are crazy. I know man, it's April Fool's backs gonna sit on attack. Yeah. Really? All right. See John see guys of your kids getting into this is the plus your fingers. No wash your fingers. I have not seen or heard anything yet. Daddy. Do you want a piece of gum? And you say, yeah. It tastes like dirt dirt gum. Right. Mom could be behind all of this. When I get home later. Peppering your food like real Tanovic dump it all in ha daddy's turning red. Right, right. Exactly. Ha look. Daddy suffering. That's awesome. All right. Coming up next. You want to look younger. Forget Bo talks do face yoga is that a thing. We're going to practice it in a second. All right. "Joining us as he does once a month in studio here, he is Arizona governor Doug Ducey governor. How are you today? Very well, thanks for having me today. How about that? Breaking news Representative David stringer, the guy who said they're not enough white kids in Arizona's schools, we found out a month ago or two there were sex crimes in one thousand nine hundred three and he says I am resigning. Are you surprised governor I called for representatives stringers resignation in June today, he resigned, and he did the right thing? He he spared the state and the legislature convulsions over this issue. And now we can move forward. So what is far as you know, or that you can tell us. What's why wouldn't he resign earlier? I mean, did you have to literally like push him out or convince him to step down? Or why did started way back? A couple years ago than the sex allegations. And then now we're in March of two thousand nineteen why can tell you everything I know, and I don't know anything more than what you have read. I mean, there was going to be an ethics trial on this. There was going to be an investigation. There was a subpoena and a court date and today he made the decision to to resign. So those are all questions for him. He could have saved himself some pain and agony by doing this earlier, but he made the decision today, but backchannel calls or you didn't call anybody and say, hey, look for the best interest of this state. You've you've gotta convince them or I've got to convince I made one comment and the comment called for resignation, and I let that comment stand. And then this became an issue for the legislature. They are a separate and Coequal branch. And I think part of the reason we enjoy a good relationship with them is I respect that relationship. Arizona governor Doug ducey's join Jonasson in studio. So we had Don shooter booted he did run. Again and lost. But this guy is a bad, apple and David stringer. Now. He's gone. How do we get Representative Kelly Townsend out? Well, first let's talk about how Representative spring will be replaced. Okay. This is the this is the. Yeah. The pike county board of supervisors will be presented with a list of names. And then someone will be picked among the supervisors, and we'll have a replacement for representatives stringer, and I'm going to work with everybody in elective office, Republican or democrat the people have spoken. These are this is our elected legislature. And that's my job who we're almost done cleaning out all the garbage. I mean, you know, we've got a couple of bad apples, and you've got one who's an anti vaccine going through all these bills. Governor who you say you're gonna you're gonna veto all these antibac- cer- bills. You know, maybe we could push her out the door next. We'll let me be straight up here to all the parents out there. "We get ready for a Super Bowl Sunday a waste management weekend. Lots of things going on out there. But we would be remiss if the world of crazy when we talk about crazy as a usually we are talking about our elected officials making questionable comments doing questionable things, or in general, embarrassing the state of Arizona, in some way, shape or form one of those people who I would throw into that group is former Arizona lawmaker Don shooter you may remember last year. Don shooter was expelled kicked out eighty sixth from the house of representatives over sexual harassment allegations. And they seem to be relatively credible. Sexual harassment allegations. Well, Don shooter did not go quietly into the night. Don shooter is now suing the state of Arizona. Because he says they didn't go through the right process and kicking them out go to my office. There's a little black binders tell you why this whole thing happen. Yeah. Remember that? When he was leaving the cryptic thing. I have black binders in my office. Like, I have dirt on everyone else. I don't know we thought that was going to keep them from getting kicked out the lawsuit lawsuit. That was filed here claims he was denied due process because his expulsion wasn't investigated by the health house ethics committee. They didn't follow the right process before they kicked them out. He might actually have an argument because the current crazy guy who's going through this right now, the current one who is embarrassing us is racist child pornographer stringer, and they have referred his ethics complaints to this ethics committee. They're going about it a different way with him that they went about it with stringer with shooter is that an inconsistent. Well, it is and they were very emphatic about it the other day when the full house vote would essentially stepped away from the controversy and Senate to the ethics committee and the comments including one from our former colleague j Lawrence who's now in the state legislature. He was he was very facts that we wanna follow this right to the to the last detail that we're doing this the proper way. And of course, I there's no question. He was comparing that to what happened to Don shooter. So did Don shooter. I'm going to actually defend I'm going to try this. This might be the defense. When he was accused by state Representative Michele Eugene t Rita. And three other female, lawmakers four women elected officials also said that he behaved inappropriately and up to the point of sexually harassed them in some way, shape or form. Was it a time and place was it the middle of all that knee to and Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby, you know, what I'm saying all these Matt Lauer all these famous people were getting taken down by allegations from women and the the Arizona house said we can't be seen as going soft on them. You see what I'm saying? Am I making his argument? I think you are making his argument, but my response, okay. Yeah. You could make an argument. Did they did they rush to judgment by not sending it to the house ethics committee? See this this brings up a much bigger issue in it's one that came up in a story that I think we tackled one other day when I was in here filling in I think for you about the fact that out of the Don shooter, John shooter circumstance, the speaker of the house said we're going to come up with a code of conduct or a code of ethics, and we're gonna form it's going to be both chambers. The house and the Senate, and we're going to work on this. We're going to get it done. They haven't done it. They haven't done it. And we still are they motivated to do it. And that leads to believe like are they really serious about this. Or are they hoping that it'll eventually just go away? This gets back to something had his bothered me for all the years that I've been in the news media does that there are certain members of the state legislature. Not all but certain members that legislature that are drunk with power. They look at being a state legislator is being akin. Being a congressman or a Senator you've got one lawmaker that thinks it's okay to drive one hundred miles an hour down a highway, and we and we and we actually had to get to the point where this legislative immunity law played the do, you know, who I am car is being is being changed and having to be amended. So that you can't drive one hundred forty mile an hour and claim I'm a state lawmaker. I can do whatever the hell I want right. And that's part of the problem. Now, again, I'm not trying to paint this broad Brennan. Not everybody down there is like that. But there are some people who really are drunk with power because they've been elected to be a state lawmaker. Well, here's here's a newsflash for you. You're not a US Senator. You're not a congressman. No, you're you're you're a state lawmaker who must be know until you do something extremely stupid, and you are not above the law. Yeah. Oh, without a doubt. Now, I wonder if I can I give you part of shooters. Defense. Okay. Is that he was just he's a really bad joke. Teller? No, that's not that his attempts at humor with these women were misconstrued by them as sexual harassment. No..

"Jeff Munn in for Pamela Hughes today, quick note, shut out to the Phoenix theatre. I went last night and saw jersey boys. The Frankie Valli story, and it is an amazing night of music. And you though the lyrics to every not seen that before. I saw it at Gamage. I saw the Broadway version. This is the the Phoenix theatre version. Yeah, it's pretty amazing. I saw it at Paris in Las Vegas three years ago. And what struck me? And we've both been on the music side of radio broadcasting in in our careers. What what struck me was how many of the songs I was familiar with the four seasons. Frankie Valli force. I think I know one or two suck. Now, you know, ten of 'em about almost. Yeah. How many are you're familiar with in a general sense to read it is? It's a great jersey boys is playing at being cedar for the next couple of weeks. And it's just a must see for fans of of good music if nothing else, and it's great to see it perform live like that. So yesterday, I I grew up in in Tucson, southern Arizona. So it was not unusual for us to go down to Nogales Nogales border had Nogales Arizona, Nogales Sonora, Mexico, right? There is the border town. And it's a huge crossing point in Arizona. I believe it is the busiest crossing point in Arizona. Oh without question largest one whether people are going there just to tourists vacation, or as we know commerce traffic trade going back and forth between the two countries. Well, yesterday, a semi truck. So imagine a semi truck right carrying on like, what did they have? They have cucumbers or something. I thought it was Cody Willis cantaloupes, let's go with cantaloupes something along those lines. They. Thought the thought it was suspicious enough to use some of this technology. They have at the border crossing. Which is x Ray the x Ray the whole truck actually drive the truck through the Ray machine for like a better terms sauce. Something weird brought over apparently drug dogs or dogs singular and it hit and they found the largest the largest Fenton little bust in Arizona history. And. In the history of the United States carry carrying ten packages offensive, no pills. It was carrying about a hundred packages offensive. No. And I believe three hundred ninety five over three hundred packages of methamphetamines in total, by the way, they were saying three hundred and ninety five pounds. Of math. Right. Two hundred and fifty four pounds. No. Now when you look at the amount of fennel that was was was caught. And we know that just a few grains of federal on your skin friends that are police officers wear gloves. They carry the can in case they touch somebody or touch something with Milan. It can be that easy. You just come in contact with the skin. It was enough to kill fifty seven million people. Well, enough Begnaud for fifty seven million people to overdose on the drug. So. Like, you said making that bust is in effect stopping the equivalent of of a terrorist attack. We talk about a dirty bomb or terrorists or the other that amount of Fenton all introduced into again. I the mind boggles is what you could do with it. Now their intent was not terror. These are drug cartels area was to make put it into pill form cut it in other things and make money off of it. That was their intent. Obviously, they say it had overall the I mean the value. I mean, tens of millions of dollars of this. And you gotta believe which I thought was kind of interest. You think about it this way, I doubt that was all the federal they had that was just no, you're probably right? That was today's this week's this days this week or this month shipment coming north what gets me about this story is, and I guess this is true anytime that somebody tries to get drugs into this country through a legal port of entry and gets caught. What did you think was going to happen? Well. If you again, this is something I probably know, I know just enough to be dangerous and just enough to make people suspicious. If you understand how the drug cartels work they build into their business model loss loss by confiscation. Right. Law enforcement is going to get some of this. And and it's built into their five percent ten percent loss. It's just part of the deal part of doing business. We were talking to Colonel Frank Milstein earlier. He said there's no way this was built into the loss. This is way too. Big an amount, right? They had a high level of of confidence that this load was going to get through because this is just too much to put up for the we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna go ahead and lose this. It's not unusual, and anyone you know that works down at the border and a friend who was a dog agent with the border patrol. And he said what they will do is they will send in the cartels. We'll send a vehicle or a person up with some drugs on them. That we will find. It will get our attention. And while we're paying attention that the semi truck goes by. Yeah. You know, four a while because we have limited resources while we're paying attention to this. What we think is a good bust, the huge amounts going by or another supplies going through a tunnel or whatever. But does this example, and I'm sure people are gonna use it to argue both of them. How does wall stop this? Twigs are pouring into this. People are saying drugs are coming in. It's the worst thing ever drugs are coming in. Yeah, they're coming in semi trucks being driven through legal port of entry. Right. And that's why most of the opponents of the wall, you know, and Kirsten cinema said this earlier this week she looks at the wall as part of a border security plan, not the border security. I have not heard anybody say there shouldn't be any physical barriers. I've been Nogales. We have some areas there's lar- the like thirty feet high the real big, but they're mental. I wanna say they're metal. And they're like slats in other places. It's a a ten foot high fence in other places. It's a three strand barbed wire fence, I mean, there are different barriers all along the border. No one's talking about. No barriers. Right. But if your argument is that a wall will stop drugs, I want an are you planning on closing all the border crossings because they're driving them across right, right? It's the legal ports of entry. Which is even somebody who is it. Chris Wallace with Fox News channel pointed that out were lying about, you know, the amount of drugs other. Yeah, they're coming through legal ports of entry. I think it's something like ninety percent of the drugs. They believe are coming through legal ports of entry because we don't have the technology and the people at legal ports of entry. So instead of building a wall out in the middle of the bleep. Desert focus on semi trucks worth of stuff coming through. If you wanna take five billion dollars, which you had earmarks, and I'm saying you being in the United States, why not take that five billion and invested in improving the technology that our our border patrol officers are using because they don't care about that. Care about a wall both sides. They care about a wall. They don't care about border security be cared about border security, you'd have more of those scanners for trucks, you'd have more border patrol agents. Looking all the different things you do. Not doing it. You remember the name Don shooter a by the way, perfect name for a state legislator in the state of Arizona. Right. Don shooter, the former Arizona lawmaker kicked out for sexual harassment. Kind of a me too. Yeah. He suing suing the state of Arizona. We'll tell you about that. It's coming up next on Arizona's news station..

"Security compromise in an attempt to avoid another government shutdown. North Dakota Republican Senator John Hoven says President Trump should be a part of the negotiations on border security. We've got to get to a Bill that he'll sign right? So obviously, he has to be part of the discussion and negotiation. He's already put forward some compromise proposals. I think very strong proposals. And hopefully that will help us get to a solution that people can agree to that Trump has threatened another shutdown or a declaration of national emergency on the southern border. If he does not get several billion dollars to help build the wall. At least eight deaths are being blamed on the Arctic temperatures hitting the midwest. "Afternoon news with matching Gaydos. News ninety two three FM. You know, there is certain things in life should just be obvious. Make sense sensible common sense common sense. It's kind of been thrown out the window. You've got the House Republicans yesterday voting on whether they should expel one of their own. Yeah. David stringer, David stringer who has a history of saying some racist things and making people uncomfortable, African Americans and other racial groups. Don't blend in there's not enough white kids in Arizona schools to help other minority. Children assimilate he basically said immigration is changing. The face of America. Wanted Browner doesn't want it to look like a mocha chocolate Oakland day from Starbucks. He likes vanilla there you go. So it should be a common sense. When the when the the I don't even want to say the allegations. It wasn't an allegation it was he pled guilty to some kind of sexual offense. Yeah. We told you the racist novel right to the other stuff back in one thousand nine hundred eighty three. Yeah. H should be a no brainer. That you know, what this guy now has a track record of he should not be representing other people in the state. Right. Right. That didn't happen. Nope. It did not happen. You'd think that you know, maybe they wanna booed him. Kelly Townsend filed an ethics complaint. Oh, no Kelly Townsend again, anti teacher, man. Right. Presentative kelly. What do you call her all round, bad personnel? Kelly Townsend filed and I don't care if you're Republican or democrat, if you're just a bad person, you're bad. Towns in filed an ethics complaint after the Phoenix new times reported on decades old charges against Representative David stringer for child porn and other sex crimes in Maryland. The charges were later expunged. But lawmakers want to hear more facts. So the GOP pausing the vote yesterday on emotion to expel stringer. I hate to say this. Yeah, they're going to lay out all the facts. And they're going to make an argument to save this man's buttocks. I hate to say it. But that's the way it's going to go down. Because Don shirt remember, Don shooter had the ethics investigation, and they were still going to allow him to stay sexual harassment. And then he he did something that JD mez NAR. Then the speaker of the house said, okay, I can't do this. There are plenty of Republicans that want this guy guards. Unfortunately, they're not going to do a lot of people who are. Republican representatives decided not to vote yesterday to get rid of them. They voted for recess. So I think it's I think it's political. You know, I think that Kelly towns in at first she wanted to vote to expel and I don't know if somebody got her or she changed her mind or she now believes this guy. I don't know idea, but she changed her mind from expulsion to well. It's just. I don't know do an investigation. See I would've booted him after his racist stuff. Okay. That that's for me. That's what you gotta do. If you're a racist. My goodness. This guy's been how are you going to represent? This guy's been banned from Prescott schools because of his racism, not not the the the child pornography that just came out. I mean, it was brand way before that. So just listen guys a racist. Do you want him making laws in Arizona? I don't so I would have booted him well before but Kelly Townsend changed her mind. And it's a gutless move. You want to do an investigation. Okay. Listen, you should have done the investigation on his racism. That's not. Okay. But now it's child pornography. Now, you've just blown it out of the water. I mean, I don't need to hear anything else. I don't need to hear anything else. I'm ready to vote. And you know, what when they vote. This is why it's political. Republicans in the house would temporarily lose them Giardi. But they would get it back as soon as they replace him with a nother Republican, it wouldn't be people. It would be a number of weeks or maybe a couple of months, but you're going to lay out an argument not to get rid of this guy. It looks like you're protecting the guy. Now. That's exactly what it is mean. That's exactly what it why. Would you go on limb for a racist? And a guy I has these abuse charges. I don't know because it's not as though if you replaced him you would replace him with a democrat replace with another Republican. So why are you going out on a limb? Arizona state law. He must be replaced with a Republican. That's the right law. He should be replaced with a Republican is a Republican. But but don't tell me it's because well, we need all the facts out there. What? Okay. What are we going to learn if the facts come out, he pled guilty to at least two charges if the child pornography charge wasn't one of them. There are still two other sex charges that we never knew about I'm not saying he's a bad guy. But i'm. Saying he's a bad guy. First of all, no, he can't be a good guy and be a racist. And then see something come out of the blue that you never let him and standing by saying I was never convicted. So this would set a bad precedent, dude. No, the temperature of the room and know when to leave here's the thing both parties are pathetic. And I'll tell you why right now, the Republicans are kind of less pathetic pathetic. No, no, no, they're both. All right. They are protecting David stringer because he's a Republican and right now the current split in the house is thirty one twenty nine. So if you were to get rid of stringer, it would it would be, you know, thirty one votes, by the way required to pass legislation. If you go on a party vote, the Republicans couldn't pass anything until they get a replacement, but only until the replace right? It's only a couple why. So that's why they're bad. They're gutless. They don't want to vote on this. They want to vote to recess. It's pathetic. Okay. On the other side. Do you think the Democrats want to boot this guy David stringer? Well, of course. Well, why they're doing it for the right reasons? No, they're doing it for political reasons because then they would have right, and it wouldn't be a majority. Listen, they do they really care. Do you think some of these Democrats go home and say, I can't believe that this guy is still in office? No, I don't think that's the case. I think it's politics for them to go home and say, how can we get this guy off? How can we nail a Republican? Wall. There you see both parties don't want to do. What's right quality? They just want to do what's right for their own party. And that's why I don't like politician. I gotta tell you. I mean, you want to go to the mat for this guy. You better know, something that we don't because if it comes out that if something worse comes out on me. Yeah. But if it escalates to something else sexually sexual whatever that we didn't know about and you're trying to like the guy from Alabama. How can you? How can you defend ROY Moore and people did he did? Politics, just nasty. These days a guy, you know, shouldn't be there is still there, and you had the chance to to get them out. All right. We'll keep our eye on this. He's still he's still there you still racist. And they're still all this other stuff that we gotta go through. All right. Becky Lynn, detour Dan, they are coming up. But when we return, I think, this is hilarious story..

"News ninety two threes. All right. We're continuing to cover the story of Arizona. State Representative David stringer. You know, if you listen to this show, you're pretty familiar with this guy. Unfortunately, unfortunately, he got reelected in November. He's a racist. This is a guy who goes around saying there's not enough white kids. There aren't enough white kids in Arizona schools. He he doesn't think African Americans blend in they just looked so different. His character is despicable. But I never thought that he was the dude that maybe it watch child pornography in the eighties because that's what we found out today. David stringer was charged with multiple sex offenses including child pornography when he lived in Baltimore in one thousand nine hundred eighty three that's from the Maryland state court records, somehow somehow he got his records. Expunged? I don't know how he did it. The lawyer. I understand figured out the I guess the way to get it done. He was he was convicted of this and he pled guilty. That's a good question. Was he convicted or did he just plead guilty conviction means that you go through a trial? So what's interesting is that David stringer has now twelve news is tweeted out that he he he texted a reporter and said resigning over a thirty five year old allegation for which I was not convicted, and which was expunged would set an incredibly bad precedent? Meaning I'm not going to resign. Okay. So if he was on the show right now, I would say did you watch child pornography? Yes. Or no. He may say, no, okay. He may have been in possession. It may have been manufacture, we know necessarily ally. But he's a lawyer. He's going to parse every word you say he may say why didn't watch it. I just made it or something like that some ridiculous. You know sentiment the same thing. I mean if he was around. Whatever. However that is he pled guilty to sex offenses, correct? Five of them five of them. Yeah. And he's not a convicted sex offender. He doesn't have to register because he got it expunged. So what he's saying is. I don't think this is a good idea. The people chose me, and I'm going to serve I don't know. Why it just doesn't all the governor has called for him to leave the GOP leader of the house has asked him to step down resign. And he's it looks like he's not going to allow he's not going to write right yet. Maybe they start what they did with Don shooter. Maybe they start something up against him. And basically say we're only going to give you one more shot, man. And if you blow it we you're done we're gonna vote to boot you out. I think that if the governor and the speaker of the house comes out and says you need to leave. I think that's a good first step because it gives him the opportunity to leave. It's the easier way. Yeah. To you can throw that out there and say you have a chance to walk out now. I haven't heard anybody say, but if you don't we're going to force you see the next week that maybe next week. I have not heard that yet. So you can ask someone to resign. And maybe they will. And it saves you a lot of aggravation. Correct. But as you said, maybe this is going to go down the. The shooter was his name Don shooter on shooter who was sexually harassing women for years. And remember what JD Manar did JD Meszaros? And he was then speaker of the house. Yeah. Yeah. He basically said I'm gonna give you like censure or something like that. And Don shooter did something that morning were mesmerized was like, okay, you're done. You're done here. Maybe maybe stringers going down that road or maybe string is going to get another opportunity. Okay. Man. We're giving you another shot. And maybe he blows it again. I remember we had Meszaros said he was going to give him one more chance than I remember telling him, I go, I go he's gonna screw screw it up. Of course, any did you should just get rid of him now and the very next day. Yep. Of course, something happened and Messner and had to get rid of them. Immediately. I don't think you give this is different though. Because I another chance this is different in the sense that Don shooter was horrible to women, but he wasn't convicted he was interact. He's not a felon. He's not what he was never in a court of law. This guy was accused he pled guilty. But had it expunged. I think this is a totally different circumstance. I think you can start, you know, getting your colleagues together down at the legislature and saying we can't stand for this. We have got to vote him out. It's too bad. This didn't come out November. Because you would think Prescott would vote this guy out. Yeah. But but the people of get knew that this guy said a bunch of racists crap and they voted him in. Yeah. Right. Now, you're talking child pornography you talking to different level a different level random racism is bad enough. And now he has he pled guilty to those.

"Will it not happen? I'm not sure that's up for debate. That's fine. But while your dad is in this huge. I wouldn't call it controversy, but you know, with the Democrats to try to get this thing done. And by the way, I don't think it's going to get done. But while he's in this controversy. Your son goes on Twitter and compares the wall to zoo. This is a distraction more than anything. But it also shows the ignorance of Don jR. Again that number to call. If you want to give us a buzz seven zero two two five seven five three nine six is the number to call to five seven five three nine six. There are plenty of people out there that support Donald Trump. I don't know how you support this you support his son. I think his son is a problem. I think his son is a big problem. And I think. When you say things like this on social media. There's a price to pay. And I think Don just like father Don shooter, just like his dad, probably take a break from Twitter. It might be a good idea. Just to stay away from Twitter. This is ridiculous tweet. Everybody knows. It's a ridiculous treat even people on Fox News. We're not defending this tweet. I'm just not sure how you can. And again, I'm not I'm not gonna call Don, jR, a racist. I don't know what's in his heart. All I know is that he is comparing illegal immigrants human beings crossing the border illegally. To a zoo and a bunch of animals in the zoo. How do you defend that again, the number to call to five seven five three nine six against seven zero two two five seven five three nine six. Let's go start off with Mike, Mike. Thanks for calling the Vegas. Take. Our you doing fine. How're you doing doing? Good, mike. What's on your mind? Listen. Donald Trump's son was mentioning that at the zoo. If those wild animals were not divided between humans and them, they were just scarf. I understand that. But. He's not referring to them millions and millions or comparing to you. Animals wild animals. He's trying to prove a point that walls. Do stop bad things from happening. Those wild animal weekends from that. How can you compare? Hang on Mike, stay on the line. Hang on. How can you compare wild animals to illegals coming to this country? Now, I understand that. What is there for a reason? He's not comparing that wild animal. So why? Okay. So Mike he's trying to prove a point. So Mike have a reason for that reason. Mike, Mike, why can't he just say then look compare it to a wall over the Obama residents or any rich person that once a well, why couldn't you just do that? Why do you have to compare it to a zoo with a bunch of wild animals? These are human beings. We are talking about Mike. I understand what you are saying. And that's why I am going to try and give Don jR, the benefit of the doubt, even though I think he's a complete cloud. He's a moron. Okay. The benefit of Vilniaus McKechnie. Mike actually, come out and say, it the way you probably wanted them to say. Yeah. On a second. What do you mean the way I want to hold on a second? What do you mean the way I wanted him to stay? I don't understand. What do you mean by that? I get the boy I understand clearly what what walls a mean. In a sense of why we put wall them play. I don't want him to say anything. You know, why Mike I don't want? Don, jR, to say anything. I'll tell you why. Because he wants compared Syrian refugees to a bowl of poisoned skittles. Okay. He is a moron. Mike. That's stupid on. Here's part hits. I agree with you on that part. But I do understand the situation that he made about walls, and we weren't separated bad. Do we didn't have a WALDO that lion me? And you off. I I understand that. I appreciate the call Mike, but I illegal immigrants going across the border. I don't I'm not worried that an illegal will will chew me up. I think the majority of the people that are coming over the border are good people. Okay. The majority of a lion or a tiger. That cross-border are probably going to kill you. Okay. It is a horrendous analogy and Don jR, is a moron to five seven five three nine six seven zero two two five seven five three nine six. Couple lines open. If you want to join the show, let's go to Kelli. Kelli good to hear from you. Hey, how's it going? Good kelly. What's on your mind? Well, two things one about the Don jR. You know, you gotta look at it this way, at least, that's the way. I look at it. He's a private citizen. He's not. In a position in the government. You know citizen, just like me. But if you wanna put them, you know, compare them to somebody, you know, like celebrity status. You know in his tweets are just as insane as, you know, Rosie o'donald tweets, but here's the difference. But here's the difference Kelly. Rosie O'Donnell is a comedian. Okay. Don, jR, has responsibility because he's not just somebody like you or me. You're right. He's a private citizen, but his father is the president of the United States. And I believe with that comes a lot more responsibility than somebody like you or me. Well, I mean that's up to you. We can differ on that. But when you're a private citizen, you can say, whatever you want, you know, and I'm in the other thing is is, you know, if you're going to say, you know, wild animals, you know, you could refer to some of the people coming across the border are wild animal pictures of somebody's MS thirteen. Well, I I try to refrain from calling a human being a wild animal because you wanna call him a horrible person or felon, or or what have you that's one thing? But the majority of the people coming across the border a good people. And again, this is the same guy who compared Syrian refugees still ballboys and skittles, and I think that's very important because we show that he has awful judgment. He says stupid things he's never accomplished anything in his life. You know, other than maybe a drinking problem being co star on the apprentice, this is just my opinion, Kellyanne think Don, jR, complete moron. I really do. I think he's very ignorant. He says a lot of stupid. Look, there's a lot of people that say a lot of stupid things on Twitter. But for for the our president does the same thing. But for the love of God, stop comparing a zoo and a border wall Eddie zoo to the border wall, the actual wall that we're discussing Geli. That's my point. But you know, I don't know. I mean, you know, some of these, you know, when you when you've got some of these MS thirteen people, you know, going around killing people, and you know, and you've got that much evil in your heart. I think that's when you you're no longer, you know, given human status. I mobile phone, and again, and again, I understand look it look if somebody crosses the border and they kill an innocent person. You want to call them an animal fine. I guess I don't have a problem with that. But we all know that the, and I gotta let you go Kelly. I appreciate the call. I gotta take some other callers. But you know, the majority of the people crossing the partner should not be compared to zoo animals. I guess I guess that's the point. I'm trying to make two five seven five three nine six seven zero two two five seven five three nine six is the number to call. Let's go to Bill Bill. Thanks for calling into the Vegas. Take our you. Yeah. Yeah. Pretty good doing good Bill. What's on your mind? Yeah. All this back and forth with everybody potato wall. I wanted to ask you being in the public guy with the population, which you know, what it is in central America, South America combined. Gimme the number of tell me. Four hundred eighty million that's half a billion. So that's one of the requisites going on is to try to slow that down. I mean, that's a half a billion people. We wanna keep more borders languages and cultures in this country. Basically, that's the idea. You can't let everybody has. That's a big number before research. I agree with you Bill Bill. I agree with you. I I don't think we can let everybody in and I'm four border security. I think there's a lot of things we could do not sure five point seven billion dollar wall is the answer. I think there's a lot of prevents we can make. And again, I am four border security. Don't get me wrong. I guess the point I'm trying to make in this segment, and we can discuss that. But the point I'm trying to make is Don, jR, is a moron when you compare a zoo and a wall in a zoo to what is going on in real life. I just I just think that's stupidity. I mean, this guy says dumping thing after dumping hurt. Spores him guys. They get the media the athletes the same thing, they just can't control themselves. They hit the button it's all over on. You make a good point there. Well, it's just been going on for thirty forty years with the technology. We have that. They can't stop this. Exactly. Bill recourse, would be a wall Bill. Well, well, hold on a second Bill. You made a point there about technology. And there is a lot of technology out there that can detect if drugs are crossing the border. We have drones. There's a lot of ways that we can look at this. And I think if you do it collectively, and you put money into it, collectively, not just a five point six billion dollar wall. I'm all for it. I'm all for it. Yeah. Yeah. They're looking at doubt is one percent of the total budget when the exclude three hundred fifty five million dearly the stopped out in a drug flows. Can we agree on this Bill though? It's probably not the best thing in the world to compare a zoo wall with wild animals to the wall that we're talking about that. Yeah. Okay. Good. Bill. I appreciate the call, man..

"Arizona's news station. KTAR news ninety two three FM. Let's look back at the biggest local stories of twenty eighteen and I'd say the most popular the most read or the most talked about and the one that is at the very top is Senator John McCain and all the stories that that go right along with the fact that he passed away his brain cancer his replacement so to speak and his replacement leaving and then another replacement. I was big story in Arizona. I've had experiences adventures friendships enough for ten satisfying lives, and I am so thankful like most people I have regrets. But I would not trade a day of my life in good or bad times for the best day of anybody else's now was his friend. Rick davis. Speaking at was that there were so many ceremonies for the Senator and much deserved. That was one of the ceremonies and Rick Davis spoke there, John Ford's, my fellow Americans whom I have gratefully served for sixty years, and especially my fellow error zones. Thank you for the privilege of serving you and for the rewarding life that service in uniform. And in public office is allowed me to lead. I've tried to serve our country honorably I've made mistakes. But I hope my love for America will be weighed favorably against them that is not one of the ceremonies that was the final words of Senator McCain which were released pretty quickly after he passed away within a day or two I want to say and he shared some of those words with the nation. He died at eighty one years old on August. Twenty fifth at his ranch near Sedona and rest in peace next step. Red for Ed. You all remember this? Remember, the sea of red shirts and people marching to the capital from chase field. I believe is where it started all the way down to the capital. It was quite a sight to behold. Fifty thousand March on the capital this spring, the protests ending only when governor Ducey promised a twenty percent pay hike by twenty twenty with ten percent of that coming in the new school year. So did read for at work, though, some say, yes, some say, no, I think overall at least it raised awareness of what was happening in Arizona. Teachers are certainly going to take the pay raise. They at least got around ten percent. And they should be getting around twenty percent by the end of next year two years the year after that, I guess so two more years they should be around twenty percent raise. But many of the teachers during red Fred remember they list there. They listed their demands. And it wasn't all about salary. It was also about needs for the classrooms for the schools things of that nature and other employees also. But I do think the big thing. Let's be honest with salary. Yeah. If you. Were complaining about fifteen things. But high up anywhere on your list. You said, hey, you know, I'd like a raise, and it's not like they just came in with a little Wimpy three percent. Twenty percent is a big deal. Big number. Yeah. And read for Ed not only made news here. It made news across the country, and it is still ongoing. You can still see cars to this day with red for Ed on the back windshield and the side windows, it's not going to leave any time soon. You might also remember Representative Don shooter can't forget him. Yup. Hashtag metoo. So the Arizona house voted back in February to boot him out of office. And it was the first expulsion of a sitting legislator since the metoo movement began in two thousand seventeen did you watch any of the the vote that day? I guess I don't think I might have seen stories of it later, but I didn't actually watch all day on one of the channels all of the I want to say. Was he he was Representative shooter. Correct. Yeah. So it was all the representatives got to have a vote on does. He get to stay or does he have to go, and like all but three of them voted to boot him absolutely fifty to three. Not remember shooters statement. He just ended and drop the mic. He was just such a tough guy really standing up for himself and he got sent packing. Another thing that happened in March. So the next month was the self driving car fatality, you might remember this the autonomous Uber SUV fatally struck a woman walking a bicycle across a dark street in Tempe that happened in March Tempe police saying Vasquez should have taken control of the vehicle in the event of an emergency. Adding that had she been paying attention to the road. They think she could have stopped the car forty two feet before the fatal crash police concluding that Vasquez's inattention to the roadway and disregard for her assigned job function, ultimately resulting in the death of Horsburgh Bianca bona with twelve news they're sharing that report. And boy, did we learn a lot about self driving cars and Uber's practices in particular after that incident. I go down to ASU and walk almost every week. And you would see those Uber cars. Everywhere. And then like overnight, boom gone. They were taken off the roads. And now, I believe the program's been moved. I wanna say to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, possibly it. I think the main program moved out of Arizona, but Arizona's still is friendly to certain extent with a Thomas vehicles. Governor Doug Ducey signed legislation about with Google's program. Right. What why am I blanking on the name of it, though dot Google? I don't remember very go way mo-. Yeah. In Waymo, also came out and criticized Uber for doing this. But then it came out that Uber had stolen way most technology to do this. So it was really Waymo. And I mean, it was just around and around and around. I just remember reading about the technology. And it was like Uber cars could go no more than like, eight miles something like that. Without the driver intervening in some way. Whether it was a lane correction or turning on a blinker or hitting a break. Doc or the gas and the Waymo cars could go like. Without intervention, and it was like how the heck can Waymo go so much further an Uber can go like up a block without a problem. And it's gonna be interesting to see how all of that plays out seem scary to me. The the person who was in the vehicle, and this is my big fear about self driving technology, and we've seen this with some tesla cars as well where people are allowed to own Tesla's an they can set it. So that the car will essentially air quotes drive itself. But they're still times where the car will say, hey, you need to put your hands on the wheel and check in. Hey, we need you to intervene here and people get so used to the car running itself that they just become complacent. Car crashes? Something terrible happens. I like self driving technology. I liked the direction it's heading. I think it's safer than with people driving. But people are always going to sit there and say, oh my goodness. See what the car did it didn't it didn't save a life. And it's like how many car accidents do drivers get in every single day where they're texting or drunk. They're not paying attention true. And we're gonna blame the technology when at the end of the day, it seems like the technology was not perfect. But the. The person sitting in the driver's seat was supposed to intervene. What was she doing? She was watching like the voice or something. Mac and Gaydos, best of our KTAR news ninety two three FM Bruce St James here with Dr Bigham from novocure. "News station, and we're back looking at the biggest stories of two thousand eighteen and looking a little more nationally now coast to coast north to south. What was the big story of two thousand eighteen I'm gonna go first. Yeah. I thought the biggest story and the one that had the ripple effect the lasting effect and the one that I thought really exposed just how ugly things are in the United States was the capital hearings in September, the the bitter, the allegations allegations of quite honestly criminal behavior. Lob towards Cavanaugh the position it puts senators of having to defend him or defend the accusers tying little bit out locally. How our own Senator flake ended up smack dab in the middle of this trip on the elevator. Never get an elephant in the Senate building rule number one of the Senate. But but really it also did a couple of things it exposed. I think the the division and exposed how everything is politicized now. And as as a function of that, it also showed just how these supreme court a entity a government entity that had been by and large kind of above the fray, it was it down to the granular level of our versus the Republican versus conservative and that it managed to operate above. It was now dragged down to the level of common policy. You know, what else I think it exposed? Br. Bruce is politics in the Trump era because when we sat here, and we watch the hearing with cream Christine blase forward, and she was compelling. She was believable. And we be believed going. Well, how does how does cavenaugh followed up on? Yeah. And then he sat down, and he was angry spent the he he was just very defiant and even attacked some of the senators that were asking him questions. Only cow. How is this guy going to sit on the highest court of the land with a behavior like this with a temperament like this without it was game over, but what we can see now is that it worked. He is. Now Justice Brett Cavanaugh. Well, you never would have seen that he's administer grant you that. But it you say it worked. I don't know that there ever was a chance he wasn't going to get in. I. Yours we're going to eventually lineup against it. And you even saw that. When like, I think you gave them cover Senator Collins would made this big announcement in turned out to do exactly what. So for me, the Cavanaugh hearing of because it it hit on so many different things was was my big story of two thousand eighteen that my big story of two thousand eighteen kind of dovetails off of that. And it is the fallout in the impact of me to now granted I know that hashtag metoo started in October of two thousand seventeen but I think that the impact was really felt this year you had four hundred twenty five prominent individuals across all different industries that were held accountable, and it was beyond the rich and famous it was beyond the Matt Lauer Charlie rose, Al Franken Louis C K Kevin Spacey. Andy, dick, remember, all of these sure even got local for us here with Don shooter and Trent Franks, but this also went beyond the rich and the famous and the politicians it permeated every corner of our culture, and then just a few weeks ago. Oh, you had congress that has now decided on some new rules where we learn their own rules because of things that happened with Trent Franks, the former Arizona congressman who tried to get some of his aides to be a surrogate for news offering a ton of cash for a little icky. But we know that there are other congressmen and senators who have had to settle sexual harassment cases that yeah, we the people have been paying for. They've had this like slush fund that we've been paying for. Nobody knew it party. The one thing that both parties could agree on in the Senate was let's pay out. Let's make sure we pay all these women off because this became public because there was outrage because we talked about it on shows like this. It's changed. And now it's to the point where if you settle a sexual harassment case, guess what you're going to have to pay for it. We the taxpayers aren't paying for it anymore and the settlements are made publicly name is public should be. So we see this going from like, you know..
