"don share" Discussed on The Mom Room

"Everybody, and welcome to Tuesday's episode. I am very excited to share this one with you guys because it follows the topic of being the default parent pretty nicely except we're talking about more than just child care stuff. We're talking about the division of labor in the home. Many of you guys probably follow this guest on TikTok. She is that darn chat, her real life name is Laura danger, and obviously one of the first things I asked her was, is it danger or danger? And she confirmed that it's danger, which is pretty badass. That's like a superhero name, you know? If there was a superhero that their whole mission was to just make sure that the division of labor was equal within the home, like she could be that person. Laura, danger. Anyways, a lot of her content on TikTok revolves, as I said, around the division of labor, but she does talk about a lot of other really important things. And I love the way she delivers her messages. She has a lot of content around the book, fair play by eve, rods, which I have not full disclosure. I have not read through the entire book, but I do have it, and I do plan on reading it front to back eventually. I'm just really into novels right now. So we go over how she became interested in this topic in the first place, so she tells us her story about the division of labor in the home and kind of what her family dynamic was after having children. And I find that is always like a huge transition point where it's something that we don't really think about and then you have kids and all of a sudden it is a huge focus or topic in the family. We talk about the invisible workload or what invisible labor is and why so many domestic or child care tasks are invisible and not valued by society, something that I have been talking about a lot lately. And yeah, I gave her the example, like sometimes my husband, if I'm home with Milo all day and he's like, oh, so what did you guys do all day? I'm like, I don't even know what to say, 'cause it's like 1 million little tasks. You know, it's not like, oh, we built a deck in the backyard, you know? It's like, no, we didn't stop all day, and we just did 1 million tiny things. We talk about equal rest and why the person working outside the home is not more deserving of rest than the person that stays home. And then she gets into how to even start a conversation with your partner. If this is an issue in your house and you want to bring it up and why we should be valuing our time and domestic labor. So yeah, it's just another jam packed episode. Oh bubbles. Oh yes, and then we talk about mediocre men, which she has a quote on TikTok that is mediocre men benefit from the abuses of shitty ones. And so we get into that quote, which I love. So please enjoy this episode with Laura danger. I am talking with Laura. Is it danger or danger and stranger? Danger. Oh my God, that's the best. I was like, I meant to ask you that before I started recording. Like, how do I pronounce it? But danger is that's kick ass. My husband, it's his name. I inherited it, but he always, whenever asset is always like, it's Don share. It's not, it's not. It's just danger. Danger. To start, I thought you could tell us about yourself about your family..

"Pictures of most everything that he had drawn in the book that we had so you know it is what it is. I hate that. Saying i mean really is it is what it is. I can't go back and fix anything happen. I can't none of us. Can you know we always go back in time. Like change out. One thing that led to the next thing that led to the next thing led to this. Which again i mean. It's really not that bad okay. I'm having a hard time adjusting to hours because it feels like you know i'm a child sometimes like i. It's hard to explain. But i feel like a child like i'm two years old and i have to go to bed at nine o'clock and lights out in people are fucking it up left and right and they're gonna wind up taking our phones away from us at night and in you know as i'm being compliant because i know i cannot to get thrown out of here right now legitimately can't afford. It is so expensive. i can't even get over. How expensive it is. I thought the way mountains were expensive. But man flag is way expensive Can't afford this okay. And i'm gonna. I mean i already. I already kind of norman one of having to ask for an extension. I'm not. I'm not adverse to like i said the house is deliverable it's clean. It's as far as a quote unquote homeless shelter. Safe house goes. This is probably top of the line you know most of the staff is really nice this lady. That did my intake. Miss vivian is an angel with jim. So i'm grateful i'm grateful for being displaced. Sounds crazy rate but flag. I mean it could be worse. I could be displaced in like oh man so bisbee okay i could have been really displaced in bisbee now. That would be a nightmare. I could have been displaced in salford. Which is a prison town in. I i will anyway salford's a totally different story which i'll get into some of the time about another bad boyfriend and when i first moved here but I'm hanging in there. Even though i don't know why i'm so emotional right now because it's the first time that i've actually sat and processed exactly what is going on without having to run run run because for the past couple past week you know. I've been here a week and a day and the reality is is very real. And i've been missing. Christopher not gonna live missing christopher like a crazy girl. Because i feel like if he was still alive lat this wouldn't have happened. Ultimately at probably is true it wouldn't have but with christopher still be alive. I mean i don't know hughes doing liquid morphine news killing himself on top of it. So you know all these. What if serves what's going to actually like throw me under the bus of keep my shit together so i gotta keep it together guys. I really do I guess upcoming interviews coming up God i can't i one with pavlina oeste. I'm doing it on sunday with her As you guys know. Put the show up immediately when it happens no editing. So she's going to be talking about mental health issues and people under the age of twenty should be super super interesting. Because i really don't talk to you guys under twenty enough on the show so you know. She's chew beer on sunday. Unless you know something untoward happens. In fact i need to do show prep. Okay see that's normal rate show prep. So that's that's normalcy for me and then Somebody is trying to book an interview with me. And i have to go through emails and find this guy again because i'm having a hard time with the amount of emails because he's got really backed up. When i went off line for that month. And i catch up everything. You know things things things will get better. I mean the things are terrible but things will get better as far as the show goes. I'm going to try to get to be more consistent this place. I've found today though is you're not a bike trail are you may not be here in the bikes. Going by laura attracts are for sure are an interesting phenomenon and realize that there's a dead track right in front of me interesting. I'll take a picture of it. Yeah lots of pictures. So if you guys aren't on the installer check me out and no density bipolar I got the website. Oh that's another thing. I wanna talk about my website. The website went down and disappeared to everything that was a is in cyberspace or go daddy land or something so there is the new the new website up. It's not perfect but it's there so if you need to contact me or you know you wanna be a guest or you just wanna drop me a line and you know. Let me know that you know you've been through something worse or you know or or whatever you know whatever it is you just want to drop me a line. There is a contact on their again and I actually have a new email through there. Which i don't remember it's on microsoft's to sixty five but Oh my god. I don't know. Don sharing dancing with bipolar dot com. I think is actually what it is. I'm not sure those. Don't use that one if you need to get a hold of me and you can't find the contact on the website Dental bipolar at yahoo dot com is the way to get through to me for the show. So this is actually turned into a pretty long show with two segments. Because of the train. I love you guys. You know without the show suv. I don't know man the show. I would have I'm not gonna have nothing to live work because that's desperate and that's not true but you guys you guys give me a reason to I don't know to keep on going on and because you all matters so much to me that you know like i said you guys are my posse without you guys you me me without. You equals whole lot of not well people with a diagnosis ripe. I'm gonna leave it at that so So just totally space. This is this. Is my podcast bipolar at. Hey let's all stay alive okay later..

Bochum thing for them struggle though that avid they're absolutely in different places because he wiped it. Yeah ban these games are huge. Yeah they are fucking gains like three or four games like. Why does the game three or four. Like playstation games are like sixty seventy gigs and didn't realize that ipad games were that big. But these arcade games. Bob you know for for most choice is not any out purchases or anything that because they are coming from the apple arcade but they are huge I can't think of anything else knew and producer of something that possibly missing old. When do we get to. We have the facebook now facebook. Oh damn too much research for other people today. Do we have to face time. Share link thing or is that all we do okay so we have that so we don share play yet which is why nobody laid. Oh oh and the shared links. So when i share link with democracy and he opened and there has that's probably one of the more us features that i'm using that i totally forgot about. Yeah i forgot about those so the backup facetime. Now you can share a link with people on a link. You guys generate a link for for a facetime call so that means obviously considered to people who are on android or windows And i would say lennox is well because i mean you go just open it up in a web browser if you're not on apple device so that's handy. I guess for what is worth even though everybody is using zone. Today's auto know why it matters. You missed the boat on that year probably. Wouldn't you know they would've needed to ask you a year before that you'd be because it would have needed to rest with people that oh i can use facetime now and a lot more people would have been using facetime because you know we apple. People do have a tendency to kind of nudge people into using a good thing that we wanna use so politely but to generate the link from a iphone or ipad right now. Yeah yeah. I former ipaq because it's not all the backyard. So that's there but yeah to share links thing so i'm gonna i'm gonna spell this out with a scenario because this is what happens when michael says meal linked to salting and i opened up messages and i see excitement is like i can't look at that right now i'll come back to it right And me and might you know. Have more conversation and few days pass and you know because i was washing dishes or cook and or cutting grass or whatever work in and forget about the link and individually to link is buried. If you know anything. you've ever tried it. You know mail messages. Search Sucks yes. There's horribly so i'm never going to find his link right and sometimes i'll reach out. Michael mike mike. What was the delinked that you sent me to this thing. He's like I don't know why doesn't those because it was like two months ago when he said so all the time. All i always fifteen now mike shares and late would be. I don't click on instantly. But when i go to safari and i tap my address bar us at the bottom is in handy. If i explore my screen for suggestions i am going to see links that have been share with me from people through messages these balls so show from other applications In future not sure how. How whale district rolled out to other applications at this point because i don't message. Yeah messages on almo. Typical apple users. I refuse us any other messages. Service a sub signal. You could find a signal or three mo- but i'm all do facebook messenger Telegram every time. I get in a mood black. I'm really going to get into this grabbing. Something goofy happy with their security somewhere. and i think those all two services what's happened in tel grabbed. I know a lot of people are on that. I just refuse to use. If i were gonna pin wanted would probably be telegram. I guess maybe anyway but you will start seeing link surface up there. You also see photos that people share what you messages. Show up as things that you can save to your photo library. If you're browsing photos on it'll be some other places you'll see. Stoves music does work if someone chairs playlist or a song or a artists with you. It'll be in the shared with you tab up music okay. Yeah nobody shares visa with me and all your anybody. Because i don't think they want to hear what i hear and i don't probably don't want to hear what they're here. Yeah nicholas showed music with me. That's literally the only reason. I know we'll see that's different now. My kids get to that point where they wanna share with meeting. It'll be all different thing but they would probably be willing to. This is what i've also noticed. Is that i clicked a link in an email from michael and open it up insofar in that very top of the safari screen. You know we're that what are pesky address mortgage to be There's a little banner above the website so before you get to the web content and says Shared by michael babcock or something like that. Remember the exact wording and there's a button so you can make it go away But it just reminds me which is handy. Because i did open a page one day and i was like oh i know how i got here but i can see myself. Ns and nereo of eye opening up safari forgot where i was or some pays that i had a tab that was opened surfaces back up to the top and i'm like why am i here and i'm look at the top like oh solace. Jose media's yep yep so that's that's a cool handle that feature that. I think we'll end up getting used a lot more by me than what it is right now but all around i always fifteen seems to be a fairly stable. Experience is pretty decent. I can see. I'm gonna stay there. Some edges still need to be rubbed off but it is overall fine Also for everybody you can turn off. That share would feature if you don't like it so as they're not forced upon you is just by default so you can't turn it off if it gets annoying. I don't think they give you ability to turn it off grand yearly. But i haven't actually tried to turn it off so i'll take a look and let you guys know but for sure you can't turn it off. Globally maybe nicer. You turn it on just for photos. But i don't know I was fifteen is vice overall. I don't have any complaints watching. Wests pretty stay. I really don't know anything. The message apple. Watch and listen. So i was about to say i don't know was doing watch elizabeth. Yeah.

"Is this idea for If i'm if i'm gonna do it. I'm gonna do it right then. Get my nice bottle water and drink three innings and that is going to be when i do And without that wall that becomes being the thing in the way of doing the it hatchets in this external peace when the idea could really be anything worth doing is worth so if you're someone who doesn't drink any water if you get your glasses of water today that's awesome. That's two glasses more than you had yesterday. And if you get china today eight mile let still awesome because we also live in this law average. That's kind of the other thing as that. It's it's a fine line. No when i'm talking really big game about self care self care being non-negotiable it also means you don't have to nail it every single day but over the course of the week or needs to be this kind of law of averages that come down here. Ding andress because you're arresting all the time that would be good and if you are moving all the time where does that law average week and if you join a little bit more a little bit march nine or a little bit more balanced time. Then you're well on your way. Let's the third thing that comes out. Is that our environments. Also don't really subsidies things were just waiting and a agreements and so you take that idea about moving. It's that it's not bills in chiro day today especially this house chair when we don't even have to go to the office go someplace to meet some but honky for doing it all right here on screen in front of the right. That's good awesome when it comes to cycles of burnout right is doing any weight. I'm sure you hear this. All the time. People come into your office exhausted. Their burnt out. They're crashing and the quick fixes and traits are not what it takes you know. It's it's not getting what they need to talk to us a little bit about that. Well it's it's a little bit about the quick fixes one other quick sixes giving you know sometimes we have that level of out whereas quick shakes Well once upon a time going on music with friends as the quick fix for have the dreams have a laugh so hard community but maybe the alcohol is hydrating you as more sugar and disrupting right. And so i ask my patients to look at their quick fixes. What they're getting. And what satan away erin but it being going for a walk with your friends and letting off steam unity for your placing the sugar and the alcohol. And the bad night's sleep with something that supported bridge and the other thing that comes up out of that is one essay. There's a little tongue in cheek. What took so long. Because when we hit to that point of burnout and i need the quakes and i'm gonna binge a television show. I'm gonna eat that whole cake or i'm going to crashes late for the entire weekend all of these. All of these problems are trying to make up for again. "Because he said yeah these are people who give him a couch asleep on or the money when he was in debt As as a rising star and things like that so You felt like you know all these are going to be on my will die so i don't why we had died. I don't just give it to them now. Which i thought was pretty fucking zipped awesome. We think about your solar 'cause you know we've all the will is such a policewoman. Your wheel is like such a some people they these people may not even know the in your will until you die. They thank you anything related. You're buying your binding loyalty for life physically because deal right. You can see how much of an impact you have on one's life so when he said it. I mean george clooney. I've never understood why he's always been talked about being working all shitting. But i think for george clooney compared to like some of the other more seen as the sexy men. I think george clooney's personality. 'cause he sounds like awesome buzzer Of course i know in media the media loves him. So of course But i haven't heard any scandal or and he just seemed like a funder always playing pranks and holy shit. Like if you like what you said. I think having fought in close friends is like when you marry. I was in selecting your best men. Rain your your groomsman and all I mean sometimes you might be hard to narrow down Before him to be able to narrow down for ten people that he feels that strongly for God damned that's awesome but she also include a lot people who'd even who he might not even be like close friends with anymore bubba who somewhere along the way just helped him in his life la but just also something pretty awesome to to happen as in if feels like kind of a remote like those of youtube when you watch like giving hundred dollars through a homeless guy that kind of video if this feels like have like youtube history if he videos out islah giving my best friends one million dollars each or he did it in a very ocean's eleven way where he because they were carrying so much cash the dressed up van as a florist van de delay when location location. Near like. okay. This go to this place on metronews drive day in and handle money in banks the people each person or being life life fucking real said the close in real life. Expect george clooney to do right. I mean i think you you use your stories of people who are very very rich. And very puff wanted the money they also pretty miser leave their money the or they don shared their friends and family. That much ought to give it to be but they don't give it to friends or family. That much i all. This sounds quite. I mean this is not something. I expect anyone with that much money to do. I guess i mean the thing is of course this media and and i remember whenever i see you know some celebrity for donate one hundred thousand dollars when you look and that there would like a billion dollars in proportion is is compared to people who made one hundred nation are worth one hundred thousand dollars that kind of thing is never reward. Our never is all relative so for him. The duties i thought i mean guess. We'll get like we don't go into details because who knows maybe there's a there's a lot more. "Automotive and supported by Walden Dent. 8 17 Todd Jeffries in time Don Price on price here on the tide of Don share body here. Let's go to bed. Leander, Texas God's country, Robert. Good morning. Hey, Good morning. How you doing? Guys? Out Still. Thank you, sir. What sort of Well so I'm a veteran and i'ma next cop, and what I see unfolding here in this election is a clear and present danger to our constitutional republic. The manipulation and the potential for fraud and the president's election so great. At the Department of Homeland Security and the U. S Marshal Service should immediately Sees those facilities and take control of all the ballots and evidence that is available there. The postal distribution centers that may or may not still contain Mail in ballots and have it sorted out at the federal level by people that can be trusted because they're sworn to all these poll workers. Mailman? Yes. You know, they're not sworn to anything. They're not going to get in trouble for Committing fraud. You know what's the harm in submitting five extra ballots? You know, it's just a drop in the box. Yeah, well, listen, Robert, I agree with you, but unfortunately, we have We have a team of weak Republicans at the highest level in this state that will not do that. I agree. I called John Cornyn's office this morning and Love, you know? Yeah. John Cornyn. John Cornyn's He's in D. C. He's in D. C. I'm talking about Governor Abbott Kin Paxton. You know the lieutenant governor, we could go on and on. We've had the speaker Dennis Bonnet on. They're not talking about any kind of investigation into these ballot irregularities at all. They're not even talking that way. They have a state issue federal issue. Okay when I was talking about the election process there at the county, the county count station downtown, where Jennifer Flack was arrested. Because she couldn't see what the police she was a poll watcher and she couldn't see. Go hear anything in that other room big, completely different room looking through a fish aquarium. If you will of the other only being censored. It was come on. Yeah. What? You can't she was not able to do her job. It is allowed to do her job a second. Is this true? Because somebody check this out? They declaring Arizona somebody looked at up math. Can you look that up real quick? I just can't do that on the fly Here. Let's squeeze in Chris checking in from West like this morning. Hey, Chris. Good morning. Yes, sir. Good. Mor. Take one of your One of your callers above 10 minutes ago or so was talking about Steve Adler. Yeah, wanted. Besides, he is a real estate attorney and his specialty, and he is regarded as one of the best ones a lot of rules, don't you? Yeah, he's he's an attorney that specializes in imminent domain. His wife running manages a lot of properties in the area. That's kind of the family business. Yeah. Chris, There is definitely a vested interest in there somewhere. No doubt. Yeah, it's got to come into play. Yeah, you've got to come into play absolutely just did not follow the maps. All the maps where they start building the train lines and you'll see who owns property in these areas. And those would be the folks that benefit the most. What you got right there. We text somebody know is trying to find the headline that you said that Arizona has been declared. I haven't. I didn't say that. Somebody sent a text asking that question I'm trying to verify or not is trying to shake their head. Fine and I don't see it. All right. Let's see here. Kelly checking in from Liberty Hill this morning, Kelly. Hey, guys. What it what a shit show. Sorry, but you know you said something in it last night. I thought about this and how Where is the Republican Party? Go and all day yesterday. I look for our leaders. I look for are Republicans. I looked for them saying something. I went to parlor. I went to Twitter. I was on Social media Facebook. No one's saying anything. And and the thing is, we're four for four votes away electoral votes away and where this is all you're right. It's going to get washed under its just going to be gone. And our Republican Party was almost gone anyways, until Trump showed up. It's true. Yeah, they were starting starting to deteriorate, and it's deteriorating. Even Mohr Williamson County went blue. Yeah, below happened. E I just can't even you know, I'm not. I'm not. I'm not going to be. I tried to control my emotions. But it's It's not just the fact that our party lost. I could take a loss. Take a fair I ate where you have more votes than registered voters. I cannot take where when we were in Florida, where we disputed this with core and push. We had a Republican. We had a Democrat staring at these were magnifying glasses. And cheat our people be 40 ft away like I don't understand why more people on both sides are not like Wait a minute. We wanna win fairly. We want to win because the orange man needs to be gone. Not because we're going to force him out like we did on the impeachment like we did on Russia, Russia, Russia. What new this 12 called this out. Seven months ago. The covert cave? Yeah. Good point. What passed? This is going down. I don't know where the Republican Party goes, if they don't stand up now, and they don't say this is enough, and it goes from the governor's goes from your city. Your mayor's it goes from bottom to top. Where is Lindsey? Graham? Where is Mitch McConnell? They once they're done? They checked out. Yeah, that's a good point. Listen, listen, Kelly Kelly. Here's what Here's a little prediction Here is just some of my thoughts on this because I think you're spot on there. Where is the Republican Party? They didn't support this president of the past four years as a party. They did not. There were a few handful here and there that occasionally did, But overall nose, individual allies. Absolutely it wass and I strongly believe Kelly that if it turns out that Joe Biden is our presidents Fine. Okay, fine. We're still gonna wake up and go to work, Whatever Okay, but I strongly believe that President Trump will lead the way to start a whole new constitutional based party. All and the Republican and you need a party. Well, here's the problem with that..

Republican Party Kelly Kelly John Cornyn president Chris fraud Arizona Robert Trump Russia Governor Abbott Kin Paxton Don Price Texas Leander attorney Department of Homeland Securit Twitter Walden Dent.

E. I'm watching which I I haven't talked about on the show all all review it whenever I'm completely done I'm doing the witcher lex are you yes I am now I'm a big fan of that video game series it's based off of books in a video game he is nailing the role I'll say that like he is completely that character and it's just this is going to be be on Superman what he's going to be known for okay when we ask you this we we will wait it's a good idea with finish it but I a lot of people in my life have mentioned this show do you think that this on this the only question what do you think I would like it rules I think that pause means no the seed Kenny I don't think so I think you'll think it's too cheesy okay it has a you know that show what's it called once Michael once upon a time or whatever yeah looks like that crown okay that is crap sorry that is the one of the worst I mean but not even in a good way like I would just all were into that show or I don't even know it's still on it was wildly popular it was super cheesy it's got that cheesy quality to it that yeah it's horrible yeah yeah yeah I think like that said I think you might find part of it like that yeah okay yeah Stephenson tried to watch it and I don't think she stuck with she was like I'm trying to watch the witcher and I was like oh okay if you're a huge nerd like myself and MC and a fan of the video games are gonna like it but just a normal person it's not like game of thrones it doesn't have that high class quality look to it okay it's like people are a little bit to clean you know what I mean okay these witches have a lot of make up on and you know we need somewhere yeah where's the Sephora that they're getting that make all yeah yeah yeah I drove me nuts I know their magical and all that but anyway I'll just when I'm completely down all have a okay were formed opinion the witcher everybody on Netflix is what we're talking about so many boobs all my god can a boobs on there you can always watch it with the and even said you know what what is she never have a top on this whole really group nobody needs gratuitous okay give me a break people found the first couple seasons of game of thrones grid gratuitous tired to start always talked about yeah how denarius it was like oh yeah barely in close yeah it's kind of like that okay no I don't like crowds yeah that's like something you would see in the eighties like on the playboy channel it's not like I'm jealous or something I mean I got my own thing going on for out of enough it's fine I'm great in that department yeah and by the way dogs boots they add beef jerky I mean they put you in touch with all of that so she storms that all the stores are late night snack if you want to have fun do what Holly and I do watch really really old pre code movies and try to see boobs because before like say nineteen thirty five there were a lot of naked Buddhism's in my is serious looting reliance yeah yeah then you'll pause the TV and go what did I just see it back it up in a be up there they are to nineteen twenty nine home life Hollywood was out of control before the rainy ratings yeah yeah yeah while boobs everywhere cool opportunity that's all I'm saying like I thank you I mean there are so many I'm like Dolly's see with you yeah come on show it I mean why is it fair I mean there's more than just boobs it's full on full frontal with women but then you can barely see it guys but right and I I hear when I see it I'm like yeah well I think it's ridiculous and I think Donna can't remember if you were with me or blacks was a gift someone one of you didn't quite agree I think Alexis didn't quite agree I know what's in grain do culturally into our country but I will never understand the turning body parts in the bogeyman and what I mean by that is like movies having to blur like when women wear like like little Kim that time war just pasties over the net yeah but you can show everything else I just thought what are we doing like what what were were that afraid of the nipple wasn't he don't at me yeah I I'm not I'm being funny but I'm not trying to buy it just seems it's ridiculous to me I intend to make body parts in the boogie man who turning them into something offensive when it yes the side boob is way more sexy than the nipple you know are are the nape of the neck or they help you you know at the it's just ridiculous that they pick one little part out and then cover that up in six old Seve not not al decks don't look when I was in Switzerland visiting my friend I we turned on the TV and I was like oh my god the first thing that happened there was a shampoo commercial this girl's wash your hair and she's topless I'm like I got it yeah they don't care about that here now is my god well it wouldn't and that's a healthy approach isn't it yeah I was certain fearing boobs you've got mail perfect weight in this segment we're taught we started talking about the Mandalorian and Disney plus Lisa writes a new essay Jay's can I share that I'm so clueless when it comes to Star Wars that when he first started talking about the Mandalorian I thought you meant the man DeLorean and I'm sure Christopher Lloyd standing outside the car in back to the future hello you're not alone six forty two we're gonna take a break we'll be back after.

"The lifting of some some not all but some American sanctions is my no me into a friendship treaty at all I don't think many Americans one of the printer for the run at this point and I certainly don't don't blame them however there are many many Iranians that as I say they don't remember the the revolution of nineteen seventy nine and they are very in this in just to the west including America because they see what we have and in a lot of them what what we have not just the material goods but the freedoms that we have there are much better educated population now they've been able to travel through Europe as I say that they've had American in western European TV they know what a civilized country is supposed to be they're tired of being impoverished they're tired of being the prize of the world and as I said this is a very complex country and and there are there is a large section of a wrong that does want to be friends with United States many more so in percentage that Americans want to be friends with the wrong because of water on is done to the United States so I I think you might be reading a little too much into mine acceptance of just this one particular agreement there's a long way long way to go in a lot of things to make up and get over before we could ever have anything remotely like a friendship with the wrong then let's hear from Jimmy in Athens Georgia good afternoon good afternoon thank you for taking my call I like it when you said we cannot know what's going to happen in the next ten years how can you think of any possible circumstances which would lead she it helps a lot or perhaps the revolutionary guard to help the U. S. today in its fight against the SUNY back Islamic state within the next ten to twenty years thank you not the the short answer is no the United States in the past it's been allied with some rather unlikely folks in in various conflicts opening covert but I would just absolutely dumbfounded if we ever did anything with the revolutionary guards William during our friends they are go ahead and finish I apologize I was gonna say they they're the Rev cards or or not our friends they have been responsible as I said for for killing nearly nine hundred Americans and wounding many many more and it would I just cannot believe that an American president with other ever authorized any type of a of a coalition with the the revolutionary guards are cooperative operation with them on in on any front for any any reason not now William Daugherty in our last thirty seconds can you tell us where you were on November fourth nineteen seventy nine and what that day was like yes I was in my office up in the embassy minding my own business about seven thirty in the morning and I heard some noise outside I took it to be just another street demonstration like we always had navy commander don share came into my office and look out the window and said there in the embassy compound and I got up and looked out in and by golly they were they were streaming into the compound like ants after a on ice cream cone that it dropped on the sidewalk on a hot day and things went downhill from there the book is called in the shadow of the Ayatollah a C. "A great it's important ought to have that I've been finesse to what you're doing and it's it's definitely not not the right thing to to steal someone else's product and marketed as your own it's and people can tell you might food some people for a little while but long before the Dow and and it's easy to tell military's than now if found that lighter and your reputation will be ruined because he can take yee's knees to build up a really positive in strong it tight and it can take a sentence Outing or even just while insisting point to be in your official definitely Indefinitely ruin ruin the long term relationships that you've built top Pretty crazy so migrate yet. It's important to tell the truth as much as possible and to be open and transparent going forward Karen. You're you're currently running book at the moment and I love to get your thoughts on what you see social media heading into as we head into twenty twenty it's just GonNa keep moving left I think Remind as as an excellent vehicle food storytelling. I think I mean this is how I sorta described in my book that you're sort of the tactics. Six in things might change like the fundamental scenes of trying to connect with other papal at night change really think tank wise I think more and more I'm the voice will come up. tickly Australia annoying the states in day. Even recently I was I lit a social media. Study tour to to move on India instant pockets of Vices Arbor Day. Even voices coming up this voice assistance and things like that so I think more focused on rising you'll content devices will become more important intend to the platforms phones themselves. I think they'll just keep trying to improve in Beijing competely A newly dri but being really hot. I I say how facebook's Kansi's guy but you know these little things reminded me saying yeah it is interesting Listening to a radio Trying to entering the that Crypto And what it's going to mean for For users with festival in a big network. 'cause I had a real issue and trust in the last couple years and so be interesting to say. Just how how you know whether that there is that level of trust the papers to us that you think John It's GonNa be it's GonNa be interesting to see what what angle by. It definitely have been in the media with with that trust issues. I wonder I wonder about some of the convenience of it all was well in terms of people trade more convenience forgiving data and letting go prophecy it will be interesting to say. 'cause I mean how much more can we give up privacy because in the they sort of have it really already but but that's like A. I'm I'm actually not too all right about it. I had a discussion the other day. The Research students at the university and where actually facebook having on Antonova. Because we're not doing anything so I guess it's a really personal it is of of interact with able dot have facebook or instagram. Any any social media platform and all those who are on you know as many as possible so it really does come back down to my view. Anyway I personal preference and down date and contribute what they willing to willing to share absolutely and I think even even with cable having the product profiles. You really shouldn't be sharing anything you don't want everyone to say that's could screen as being you know. That's the day I think some people I think they locked down their party followed that they say it only takes one person to take scrimshaw and share it out just bid to behind really like it just not but is there a red wind up. Say Microsoft's social media policy Isam Bay smile or something which is about you know. Just don't need dumb things that are going to become a body. That's pretty simple really. Yeah exactly Don Don Don Don share anything that you want you know your boss your partner anyone else to say that as a as a benchmark or yardstick to to dictate what you yea and even even message attacks you know like I someone who listed job because Sunday with I thought it was a product. Conversation was screen. Green Shot Saint someone someone else you know. And that ended badly for them so it's not like just it's better to actually just have a verbal conversation united stuff that can't be recorded Is Out there. So it sounds sort of Bob conspiracy theory sort of thing but it's the truth like once you actually record something exists then it can really literally going Iran. Yeah Yeah exactly the really if you want on the Internet it's there forever in a sense and can get your thoughts. pod Few fastball groups the festival business groups and come theme I say conor regulate Weekly basis is businesses that getting tarnished having Atanas Reputation Tashin from competitors or disgruntled customers leaving bad negative reviews. You come from a PR background. What would you suggest the business to win this sort of attack by competitor role a really disgruntled customer? Who who's left false negative feedback? What's best for business to respond? It is a tough one because it can really damage a business. In Spain instances where whole tainted people have tried to really really damaging business by in large groups leaving things. And I'm pretty sure you can to raise it. We ice blue. But it's up to them to decide. What do they usually respond by innovating? Calm the way if it's actually a I like that show that you're willing to have a conversation with the Senate but do it in a really reasonable way. And I'm Dan another thing too is to ask China to ask you. Jose customers to actually lay reviews in sort of exit. In you know why because of that other reviews there but the other sort of sort of guys the Dan and it doesn't have as much impact. If you're getting of the I'm really like I can suggest because it really happened to things like you've been busy counterintelligence at anyone who can can look really bad and no end Google as well on business but it's really the only way around it but I suggest he actually just having having having some response doesn't acknowledge what business said by showing a willingness to have a conversation about it as a it's gonNa cost him a potential customer rating negative review and where business hasn't chosen to respond then really don't know if it's true or not whether the business is proactive in unite in responding to negative negative feedback whether it's true or not. Yeah when you say that response sort of respect the business morally or I do anyway when I'm when I'm reading a review. Yes yeah and you don't have to agree with that said and wouldn't you do do not get angry. It'd be really quite neutral in what you're writing but just shy yet. It just shows the willingness to have a conversation Darby to anything but just have your asset person to have the compensation of line do something like that because it just shows that your you've Nardi stick I think what's worse with some lives compliance and then it. Yeah the reason our response. It looks like that doesn't and even now as would s or on the power on power that is business who wants to along with Aris uncertain need to be on top of that and they say sometimes with negative feedback to try and respond in the first hour receiving it or at least within the first twenty four hours a really glad you out it lost a little bit. I was going to ask if there was any policy that you would recommend that businesses could put implies to respond to to negative feedback. Yeah so they say in particularly things like things across his management than say that you sure urge cause an issue containing to cross and sorry any shoes much easy to sort of deal with that across and down thirty they say anything. The navy crew tanning stopping at. It's best to on the first hour and that sort of really needed in the bod and jam but each sometimes it's highly fuel running these annual benching the social media but China to within this many hours before I mean sometimes culture. I just want to be acknowledged as well if you fade back. Yeah and just listen to them you know and sometimes like reviews that can be painful but it can also be really good secretly. If you you know you'll business has dropped her bowl someone that you've been unaware and it can actually show you had had it with in group as well agree. There are some adhere on Energie False negative reviews. which is I think? That's the terrible thing today and commerce gets people. It's still unethical yet. But reviews can be good if they positive orange juice Can actually help you keep him episode. Definitely getting constant feedback whether as positive negative or neutral kanobi US business. And sometimes you don't know until someone points it out you know you you sorry talk again and basically staff or if your sort of managing breaking in the die or something like that and you can't say what's going on like that and it also gives you the opportunity way in the past. It might of being nice sometimes just a one on recession Asian or MOMS has gone out and told them a whole bunch of people a negative experience like now he sort of nerve wracking but now you Aka the opportunity to actually with that at and have that conversation in front of audience and often that can actually you know if you do Actually Rickie Lee and strengthen relationships. Your Union defiant shows the strength of character. When you've you've I've got the ability to to respond? Klay Concise non confrontational manner. Yes and not because rating. Today I forget what website it was. That was showing that one. I think it was like a ball held. I responded terrible. They Salihi attacks the person who is the review elections. Darn darn do that. It's not like going friend and then have have been a grant to them about it then Getting on suffice to you for sure or even just riding it out in an email not sending the email just to get it out on paper internally the only question to ask our guests and I love to get your opinion of it is what's your definition of the grind grind. I see as as hard work for something that you really love so I think thank you know. Sometimes it's insane relentless and really really challenging in. We've may lack this year. Amazed as is being really huge in this being toddler had to really date at jam and push to get some some things done by when they've what actually happened. It's completely west at. I think I think the grime sometimes way he have to really date is too. I see what it is. You're trying to trying to save a love hearing fronts perspective of the words. I thank you for sharing okay. I'm Tara where where can people find talk about you and what you're up to I got. I'm on facebook sir dotted Karen Sutherland on facebook. I have a website of two Karen. SUTTLE SETTLING DOT COM on.
