Richardson, Mike, the Big Bopper. Chantilly Lace was, I was born, but you are not in 1958. Oh, baby, you know what I like. I know what I like. The Big Bopper, of course, killed in the plane crash that took Buddy Holly, Richie Valens. Big Bopper would have been 93 today. And that was the actual day the music died, right? That is the reference that Don McLean makes in American Pie. A lot of people think he's referencing the killing of John Lennon, but he was really talking about the plane crash. It was written a decade before John Lennon got killed. It's stupid. Somebody said that a year ago, said that was a reference to the sassafation of John Lennon. Maybe it was the death of Stevie Ray Vaughan, maybe. I don't know, guys. Maybe Jimmy Buffett is involved somehow. Jeez. Well, listen, great job with Jake Elsie yesterday. I listened to it. In fact, I played it on my show after you conducted the interview. I'm gonna quote my dear friend, Mark Davis. Dude, dude. I mean, that's Jake Elsie's response. You gotta be kidding me. I wanna see if I can get this right. And I don't know the guy, you know him, you like him, you're friends, and I'm, you know, the friend of my friend is ostensibly my friend, but man, he has blown this big time. Let me see if I can get this straight. If five or six of his colleagues, only five or six had voted against Jim Jordan, he'd have been all in for Jim Jordan. But 19, I guess, is a bridge too far. Provides you cover. It means that your no vote is a statement you seek to make, but would not preclude his ascendance. But five or six isn't much of a statement. And incidentally, that was intriguing considering how he told you he didn't talk to anybody about how they were voting. So I don't even know how he knew that there would be either five or six versus 19, but let's move on. Then he said that he got 300 phone calls in his office.

Earn great pay with outstanding federal benefits and up to $20 ,000 in recruitment incentives. Learn more online at cbp .gov slash careers slash USBP. I went and read a book on Marx, a quartet practiced in the park, and we sang dirigence. The great Don McLean, Don McLean, McLean, the music died, is 78. We were singing bye bye. So Mike Gallagher is 11 years old for American Pie and I do too. Is this eight and a half minutes of masterpiece or just a butt whipping? I run across people who go, American Pie, ugh, what's the matter with you? I think it's a masterpiece. You know, disc jockeys always loved it because it was the song they put on when they had to go to the bathroom. Stairway to Heaven, Sweet Judy Blue Eyes, Mike Crosby, Stump Fashion Young, yeah buddy. I need a potty break. It is time. Well listen, here we go, first Monday in October, a Supreme Court in session and some fascinating decisions they're going to have. We got all kinds of shenanigans and hijinks happening with the Republicans and Matt Gaetz and I want to start something, I want to start a conversation with you about this rift between Kevin McCarthy and Matt Gaetz and the punditry that has decided to go after Matt Gaetz. This is very interesting to me. I get it. I appreciate, I'm going to speak for me and then I want to find out, pick your brain on where you think this is all going with the aversion of averting the government shutdown, no funding for Ukraine in this particular resolution. That's right. So we've taken out the funding for Ukraine, the government doesn't get shut down and the Democrats continue to implode as Gavin Newsom appoints a woman from Maryland to replace the Dianne Feinstein. Now they're scrubbing all references to the fact that she lives in Maryland because her dedication to abortion trumps everything else. Yes it does. You don't have to be a Californian to be a California senator. You've got to be all about abortion, which is we have got to, boy, I've got my final week of my preborn campaign and I hope people will make a contribution just to counter the nonsense going on in California right now with Gavin Newsom and this Emily's List lady. But let me go back to Matt Gaetz for just a moment.

Come on, let's go. So I ran up and watch the race. So I didn't see all the fanfare before and after, but What a race, huh? Normally the horse comes out and that one loses steam by, you know, a mile mark or so and then the last quarter mile Some other horse races past it, but this one took the lead and just kept going. Yeah, he's and it's a local horse. Medina Medina spear. Not really local, but I have to always that Medina in a spirit. "Wrapping up our Hey, good looking What you got cooking with Don McLean Today. Talking about the days and cameos. Okay, wait, Okay. He said that right before he went to the break that you gave man friend? Yeah. Do you want to know about the cameo or the today? Ah, well, I think I speak for the audience both, um you got him a bad day. Yeah. I mean, it's a big day for me, too. Yeah, Yeah, It's kind of a present. For both of us. It's just an attachable. The day thing that you can put on your toilet. Great, right? I mean, that's when you really love someone. You give him a bad day. Yeah. Oh, times. Have you used it already? Oh, well, it's Rives today. That's what Oh, Okay, one that was the spa version that actually was warm water instead of just a cold blast. You just catch that's better way better at the car wash. That's the one that was sold out on the Web site for a couple months, But I finally got what it just didn't. I had to put a little note in his card, but he's coming E might have to invest in this. I love that that that's the gift that keeps on giving. And then the cameo who's cameo? What cameo did you buy for him? Okay, so he's playing assassin's Creed ball. Holla right now, which is unbelievable. You could go to my Twitter and see a trailer of assassin's Creed Ball Hall. If you want to see if you're not a gamer, and you're like, Why do people play games so much? It's very cinematic games aren't what they used to be in. The stories are better than movies I've seen. A lot of them s so his name is Magnus. The guy's name is Magnus Bruhn. Mm hmm. And he is a Danish guy who plays a big Viking like the lead character, and he is awesome. He's so nice are his cameos in character. Or is he the man? No. He's the man. I would play it, but I don't have permission to play it on the radio, you know, asking permission, but But no, he says. This is Magnus Brune from Assassin's Creed Ball. And he was so good, Nancy. I watch him. I love this game. I watched him play it every day, and he's his already spent. He's probably halfway through. He spent 110 hours so far. What? Oh, wow. So you feel like you already? Yes, This is an Xbox Syria's X game. It's really looks awesome on this new system. And, um yeah, So anyway, the guy was really fun. Really nice. I let him know. You know, you can put a little message in there that says, you know, I'm like my boyfriend played in 2020 38 games to completion. He's a real gamer, and he's already invested 110 hours. Oh, goodness in your game, you know. So he was really nice. He spent a lot of time you know when he was he looks like a big Viking. That's what's so exciting to is that the dude looks like looks the part. Oh, my gosh, and he's he's Danish. So you know, it's like he's What a great gift would have thoughtful gift. And if you guys don't know, Cameo it zap. You can buy greetings, video messages from stars of everything. Video games. Reality shows movies sports. Horn. I don't know that's sure there's there's RuPaul's drag race people on there. I knew that would get your attention, Kenny. I knew that would wake you up. RuPaul's drag race is on there, everybody. I mean, people make a lot of money, girl. They make a lot of money off cameos, which is the whole thing. Oh, anyway 6 35. Well, speaking of RuPaul, let's do TV taste test. We all watch RuPaul's drag race, Kenny, If you want to take a short nap, we'll come back to you later. Um uh, I have I have mad observations. I actually what you got. You know? Yeah, I'll start off this time. Um, First I do not a spoiler alert. Everybody spoiler alert for RuPaul's drag race. Sorry we have to we have We have to talk about it. I totally agree with who went home and again spoiler. I'll give her give everybody a second. Okay. Um, sorry. Loll agree it was time. I mean, a couple missteps. I wasn't sad. I wasn't sad to see her leave. My second observation, and here's my big one is now I'm fully on the Simone train. Alexis's write. Write that down that I said that. Okay, am I am now turned against Livia Lux. Oh, I feel that way a little bit to exploit, I think and my talkers she is someone That I think comes across. She's kind of the Valentina. She's the where everybody Everybody thinks that she's very sweet, and she's very nice. But there is a ribbon. There's a ribbon of diva and to face sickness that I think is coming out and was identified by Tina Burner who I don't love. But I think Tina was very I think Tina was watching her. Maneuver and I get this is a game. But, Olivia, I have a bad taste in my mouth now for Olivia Lux, Um, she she now joins, um, Candy Muse. Um and, um, got Mick which I know people love got milk, but I want got mixed to go home. I want candy to go home. And now I want Livia looks to go home. Um, and Tina Burner, but anyway, Yeah. Lex? Yeah. Just crown Simone already. Honestly, she is the bright shining star of this season. I love her so much When she came out, she she was so perfect for improv. She made everyone feel it easy. Even Ross said that she came up so her scene, so basically it was Rossi Rossi. He has this talk show and has like kind of trashy guests on and you know, basically just these really funny scenarios and they just had a shell of who they were supposed to be. And then they're improv Ng, and their whole skit was hilarious because they were It was, um Simone. I can't remember who was in her scene with her. Do you guys remember? Oh, handy. It was here. Yeah, basically, like, take on the simple life. What happened after right? They were well. 80 stars that your Where are they now? Basically. And she played Debbie or Deb, and she's like I'm now Devora just to come up with that. It's just so easy for her. Not only is she beautiful and fun, but I just And then she came out with this beated outfit at the end beads were the category for that for the last runway. Oh, my gosh. That was just their pony beads that she wove together and made this absolutely beautiful like breastplates. African looking gorgeous. Oh, I don't see his amazing I don't speak craft. So what's a pony? Be for all of us? It's a bigger plastic beat with a bigger hole in it. When you see girls with beads in their hair. It's usually a pony bead. Got it, okay. So you take those and to make something amazing like that. Oh, well, and on that, too, with the challenge since you brought up the challenge with Ross Matthews hosting a fake talk show, the person that stumbled that I didn't think was going to stumble was our girl, Utica. She had a real rough time I have to. I have to acknowledge that this was not hers. Yeah, don. What did you think? Oh, I'm feeling a little nervous about Utica being in the bottom. So many times. I do think I hope that she Has taken the note and really has heard that that super over um overly goofy thing that she does isn't really working for her. And that she needs to try to evolve. I feel like she does that to protect herself because she doesn't feel Mm. It's like a crutch. You know, like I.

Because I did it yesterday. I did, too. And I realized how much I forgot about this film. Me too. And then I had to do immediately after a zoom call with the emperor. So I was in a real bad mood. I was like, uh, This is a lot of time. I would rather be watching knots landing, and now I'm watching. I'm watching this flying flaming turd of a motion picture. And then and then it was a rough road. I have to talk. Tomo Ai, what's going on? How's the shotgun? I have to talkto tie in a shirt, you know? Anyway, so.

"Don McLean. My tea is forceful, Intuitive, honest, impartial, loyal and modest. Perfect. Get her motel. My coffee must be making me hard of hearing because I can barely hear you. Oh, and I barely had a chance to sip it because of all the crashes on the system with Oh, yeah. Oh, Oh, really? Already you're driving dawn. Not good. Because westbound 94 was closed at Keats. Where do you enter the freeway from Woodbury. Oh, um Century. So it wasn't close to where you were. No, no. Okay. Good. Good, good, you know, but it still was like I go so slow that it's annoying to people. I hate it when people are on my tail, But I got like 45 on the highway. When it's like this. I tested out on other streets where you know I brake hard so that when no one's around to see what my car will do, Yeah, totally. And it is not good, you know, and you end up sideways in the road. You're like Okay, That's the way the roads are. So it's like halfway. They've salted and they haven't done the other half. Once you get into ST Paul, it's It's a lot better, but, yeah, I still go slow after that, So it did take me probably twice as long to get in and Got up early because I knew it was coming. Yeah, That's nothing. You need to be a ashamed of dawn. I think the people that drive that speed or the ones surviving and crashing from what I've seen because there was rain and sleet overnight. Now there's snow on top of that, and there are some wild spin out Rex all over the system right now. Including including this crash on westbound 94. It was an overnight crash, semi versus Minda plow truck that had the freeway closed for a number of hours. They just opened one lane past the scene. The crash happened it Keats. And traffic has been jamming at Manning. So there's a bit of a push to get through there. The Woodbury Well, I was surprised on Lee because I looked at the the thermostat. It said, like.

"Food talk in the six o'clock hour. But don McLean named Hey, good looking. What you got Cooking rang You, Jason and Alexis in the morning. So I was talking about making fun of our boss. The Emperor Dan Seaman, who loves these chili cook offs of the company used to do before the great pandemic. But we haven't seen any of these chili cook offs because again, they're like 12 people in the building. He also loves to do zoom trivia nights that he organizes and again. What's worse than a zoom meeting zoom trivia nights. Um, yeah, with 70% of the attendees being total strangers What? Don't you know how we talked about how scientists have developed spinach that consent emails yesterday I would like them to develop spinach that can be in a zoo meeting for me. Thank you. Or maybe an avocado. I'll take some damn broccoli if it can attend a meeting for me, Yeah. So guy that did that? He just videoed himself and no one noticed. Oh, my God, That's brilliant screen up. Yeah. Oh, I actually because I have a zoom meeting with the emperor today, so I should probably just get a stand E of myself and just just put the camera But like a cardboard cut out her, So Yeah. Just zoom in and or a video. Yeah, Let's just make a video of me going. Ha. Sure, I'll just keep agreeing with him. Sure, Sure. Great idea, Dan. I love that tie. Sure. Um, is it for a good reason? Or is it I'm telling them when I will retire. And you know you're so but I'm just telling them I'm done. Yeah, Great. That is not good news for us. Can you please retract that statement? Um, no, My my contract is up. So we're coming up soon. So, Yeah. Okay. So, yes. Video for sure. Yeah. Yeah. So he sent back to back e mails yesterday and I was like, Who is he trying to be our boss, Bea Arthur. You know with her Daniel's dump it four PM and any of you listening when you get an email from your boss, It's horrifying. Or if you're Kenny, you just immediately delete. It s O. The first email came in and it says Chili Cook off last chance. So in the email, and now that you guys Yeah, when they got this email, J, I don't. I would have totally remember that. And Kenny got it too, Didn't you and Bea Arthur got it because she was laughing. She sent me a text of like he's at it again. So this is what he wrote. I know you all miss my chili cook off e mails. I will be eating chili by myself on Friday at my desk, and I bet I will win the cook off. Oh, my God. Okay, I'm gonna say I don't want to eat anyone else's chili right now. So when I got this email, I thought Could someone get him a workbook or some puzzle books or something? Because he obviously has a lot of time on his hands. So then, moments after that, he sends the trivia email that you all got, so they're doing it a trivia email with All of the radio stations and they're going to combine cities so US Seattle Phoenix in Chicago, all together in one zoom game, which Seems like a nightmare to me. That's a lot of people. That's the Brady Bunch screen times like 80. Yeah, that sounds like Harry Carey. Carrie. Carrie. I don't know. I'm not. I was tribute didn't give me so much anxiety. Yeah, we actually kind of fun. Oh, Alexis, don't you think? No, No, I don't think you hear, Don my love. Didn't you hear? Don't she ran a fleet from the trivia night Leaf lead election couldn't even make it through the whole thing. I hate the pressure. I hate like knowing things. It's like I don't want to feel dumb. It's just all over securities wrapped up into one s. So so I I know some people in the restaurant business, so I I have arranged For some chilly to be sent Michael to the emperor on Friday afternoon. Big big Blanken Bowl of Chili will be sent ticket to the emperor on Friday. And when I talk big, I mean, like a bucket of Hormel. Just a giant bucket of chili isn't there Well, he will be he is going to be there. I found out and I'm not worried about him finding out because he hasn't listened to the show since 2003. So we're safe on that too. So Um, dawn continuing with our cooking segment. Chicken sandwiches. Everyone's getting into the thing, and we have the Popeye's war with the Wendy's. And now Jimmy John's doing their chicken Sam. Yes, and I want to thank Becky. She's a my talker. She sent me this email and wanted me didn't know that Jimmy Johns is introducing a limited chicken sandwich. They're going to release this on the big game. They're gonna have a commercial about it, and it's called the smoke and chicken smoking kick and chicken. His first tested in the fall, and it's going to be nationwide for the chain A starting It's going to be from February 1st to march 21st and it sounds pretty good. It has chicken Creole chili pepper sauce, peppers, provolone, avocado, onions, lettuce, oil vinegar Mayo. See that sounds so good to me. Oh, yeah, That's a good come and it's long, like a foot long is it Is it fried? I looks like it does have fried chicken in there. Yeah, okay, but I'm sure you could probably swap out. If you wanted the girl. Do you know what I mean? To make it buddy? The same, but But, you know, I mean, it might be a healthier choice. I could take one bite of this. Basically, still beyond my livia plan. I'll do a few. Yeah. So we'll get one and share it between all of us. Yeah. Smoking kicking chicken. Nice. Wow. So.

"Don and Kenny. Thank you for being here Everyone is we kick off a brand new week and quickly is we quickly approach the month of February. I can't believe it. January. Almost done it seems like just yesterday, Alexis was putting up a Christmas tree in her bedroom. And now look at it. We're almost to Valentine's Day. Great. So true will it was it was December 23rd when I finally got my act together and put that tree up, But now it's down now. No more. Yep. Yeah, I know. Now, Usually when we play the following game, it's mainly 98% geared toward Alexis. But today we're going to play the game, but it's going to be geared toward dawn. And that game is America's favorite. Why is this on the show? Sheet, man friend? Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to why is this on the show sheet? So we have a Google document that each of us puts stuff on that We would like to discuss with all of you that we think you will find entertaining. And today don McLean has written something on our show sheet. Which leads us to ask Why is this on there? Here is the sentence. Live trap and a dumb mouse. Oh, so at our house, there is a basement finished basement. It's been a lot of times down there. That's where the big TV is. And then there are windows that have, you know, It's like steps up so you can get out. You know what I'm saying? But they're big steps. You know, like, if you needed to get out of that window, you could You know, we have an alarm on it. It's it's a functioning window. But also you can get out. Well. Mice can't get out of there if they fall down there, So we hear this little scratching sound and sure enough, a mouse was down there. Not on Li like trying to find a place to hide, and there's covers over these windows that are like so that the weather doesn't get down in there. They're just it's like a cover. You can lift up, but there's also a gap. Animals can get in there. So this mouse gets down there and it's scratching around. You can hear it. And then it's like up against the window like looking in at us like you. Let me it is cold out here, you know. And you I felt so bad. Um, I was like, we gotta you know, it can't get out. It was like jumping up trying to get out, you know? And so I'm like, Oh, we got to get a live traps. So we went I made. I made him go with me to get a live trap at Ace hardware and we put it down there Now that we we watch down because we're like, OK, it's hungry. It's cold. Surely it'll eat that she's right away. It's dance around on top of the thing. It's like, you know, doing a little jig up there doesn't go in the trap. So then I'm like, Well, just go down there. Grab it, So he did. Emcee grabbed the mouse. Not once but twice Because the first time he grabbed it. He carried it out. And I'm like, Put it under that big pine tree over there. So he does. What is the mouths? Do? It runs right back to the house, you know, And I'm like, Oh, was to close it. It was like it wants to get back down there. Even though there are other dead friends down there you guys corpses we find of other mice. So you know you're gonna die. What are you doing, You idiot. So then M. Cease gets the mouse again and I'm like, all right the way in the back of the we figure out, all right, We're gonna put it over the fence like way far away. So obviously we're their neighbor's yard. Well over the fence like it's far if you think about Mice and how big they are in comparison to how far this thing ran. So he puts it over the fence across our huge yard. We come back, and this is all on our ring camera footage. By the way, we're like, Surely it can't find its way back. Sure enough. Here It comes and it runs all the way back to try to get in. And we're like no. So then, at some point, you just kind of have to give up right? So I kind of packed the snow around the thing so that maybe them out. It's probably gonna dig in there and get in there again. It's just one of those things that I felt bad for the thing until I realized how dumb it was like, Wow, that there bit of death twice, You know? What do you do? It's trying to watch you guys with some video games down there. I know. Thanks. Oh, my gosh. It's just like you feel bad because I'm like, Where did they go in the winter? Sure it's a big one. Yeah, it's the same one. Yeah. Yeah, We saw it, Alexis. It ran right back in front of us like in the snow across the snow. I'm like, how did it even no, I mean it was. It's pretty far like ran right back, and we're like what You know, I know you would love that story. That's why I put that on the sheet, Alexis, because you know mice. I am cringing over here. They're just because they're so smart. Yes, They're intelligent now that one's dumb, but especially since dead friends were down there. Well, the dead friends thing. That's where, Yeah, can lost me. But it is warm and toasty down there, So yeah. You know, maybe as a mice, a mouse friend. That's going to be dropping food down like hunger games. You know, right? Maybe they have a plan there. I mean, he was digging a little hole underneath the steps to try to keep warm. But There's nothing to eat. That's why the other friends died. Yeah, include If someone just tuned in this would sound so morbid. Anything like right there? Yeah, we're talking about a mouse. That's right. Space down. Yeah, my God, Basement when you when I first thought when I saw the live trap, I thought maybe you send a cat down there or No. Some other predator At this point, it's like, maybe it should just be put out of its misery. You know? No. So we still have the trapped down there in case it gets down there. But then we're not gonna be waiting 24 7 to see if there's a And then I'm like we're gonna have to drive it away. We're gonna have to take it in the car and drive it somewhere. Yes, but then what? It's not going to stop other mice from falling down there. I'm just it needs to be. The whole situation needs to be sealed. Better so that things don't in the spring in the spring, So you don't get to this point needs to be taken care of before you get to this point. Yeah. Megan Lane Rights. Hey, don. I would offer my cat for this, but he's but he's useless. Thank you have a friend who has a hawk. Oh, sure. Call you if we get Molly Wei, I'm Wow. That's a That's a long list of friends that have a hawk collect. Listen, we go. Alexis and I have been too many, uh, conventions, if you know what I mean, Heard conventions. Yo, who's in the house? Right? But you know what about you can you can probably support this or back this up. But I was talking to Belle Leo the other night and there was a guy Who phoned us up and I don't have his name in front of me, but he is a stepfather to I think two or three beautiful kids, and those kids love him like he's the real dad. And that really says a lot about a guy that can that can take step kids and turn them into Children that respect you as the dad and love you the same as if they were your dad. I don't think I have that in me. I don't care about Senor Cruz. Is there anything you put on those yoga pants over there, or you stayed out of the game too long. And now you don't get the 25 year old with yoga pants. You get the 65 year old. It likes to go to the same bar. You go to Now wait a minute. How much money am I making? Because if she if I'm breaking her off, and she gets to go, so that crews and the ski trip and somebody feel like I'm making enough money that I get the yoga pants, no matter how long I stay out of the game, I mean, look, I And I'm happily married and have been for 20 almost 22 years. I stopped my. I was called many times before because the lights girl. I co to the bowing of may stood. Watch for a bit of the to do that. That would be interesting now. Having said all that. I knew that i would never ever walk the stairs doing doubts. That was just never going to hop but what actually happened. I was a sunday morning. It was added the following aging or the evening after about within. Today's anyway my phone phone At the time of ten the our house went. I was doing. It was remain on. Then girlfriend overpowering her. Ask me but i like to be about air. So i was. I didn't say a word. She you what age was was actually yesterday. Three her her boyfriend also in her. He'd asked his offer some schoolteacher. Was anybody else class with the interested. So i go os this other phone so i didn't say anything and so. She asked for my mom she had a conversation with my mom and my sister both acquire. I'm in the car. I didn't wanna get in the car. So she came away from the. You don't want to be on the far. You're going to be a bellary without instruction that other always tying in bell ringing. You don't want you wanna give. I had never any choice. I'm still going to be about her but the funny bit is only five or six years ago. I got talking to that. Same girls' rings a out and she assumed that i would stumped in the phone call because i zoomed. We didn't say but actually the whole time. I was just thinking heightened thing know who did thank thinking about this so you gave her absolute divine intervention. Either but my whole life has changed as a result of that but it was just cool shiver going back and i thought didn't they knew don't be so that's the story. S what stands out as the biggest bell ringing project you've been involved with well lit. I would say the biggest winning project would be. When i was asked to train a time. Seventeen new older enters as regarding a new bell tower. Being built installed in commute is church. I for two to see. Was the district master. Just returned to the after having a five year break and the biggest difficulty was. We don't have too many qualified teachers and oversee pathet about got seventeen people. Teach the same time a task. So i have to coordinate with one or two others who are good teachers and organize an overview on standardized for the purposes of art the the standard of teaching that they were getting vote myself in as well so four or five nights late ringing bells.

"Look at no shoes on I look over there. And she is like, half in her drink like she has her mouth on her straw. But her head is kind of weevil Abu and she has both of her nasty ass shoes on top of the bar. On and I'm like, Oh, God. Oh, God, And they're these big, furry shoes. I mean, they look like ah, little like Donna Karen slash hobbit, you know, and it's just they have these and she blazed them on the bar. I'm like. Oh, like this is disgusting. Oh, Lenny and Squiggy are like holding them and going, girl these air. Beautiful, Mike, you You're touching this woman's like nasty shoes. Just anyone with her or she, she's by yourself, Zippity new dime through the New Year's and She said. They're too Mike. Oh, God, This is the best. This is like the state Fair Times four watching Lenny and Squiggy and no shoes just going at it Checking you going. Wait. What are you doing? Take those off the bar or and the other foot was fine. So I'm like, Lady. Why do you have both shoes off? And why? We've all been taught better? You don't put your shoes but you're you know, not on the bed, Not on the couch. Just stop it. No shell. No service, right? No. So that was just I should have known. We should have just went to the room right then because because that get in a fight with the woman in the crutches. And the dirty feet. "Live on Monday on my talk one of 71. Do so grant over there. I miss Shannon. A don McLean is here as well as we fill in for Donna and Steve. Here on my talk. 1071 do okay for the three. The three of us when we're talking about friends. I thought we'd start with the definition because I like definition. So is that okay s so I think one of those things when we were talking about this yesterday about maybe What are tips were to help people make friends as adults. I thought that we'd go this can I found this one we're talking about. There's generally three types of friends is what I saw when I was reading up on this. And so here's what most of the things if you go out there and you search the interwebs about friendship is adults there three types of friends that they say are there's high by friends or acquaintances. So the people that you kind of see it work or school and so you kind of end up friends of them. In context. You know, so that's kind of one of them. There's also regular friends, so people who are social activity buddies you meet up with every now and again to catch up with and general you could talk to them about regular topics that you would have come up in your life. And then there's those true soul friends, which we'd also consider, like best friends and those of people that you think you can talk. To about anything you can bare your soul, you know, And maybe you don't see them or talk to them every day. But the friendship is so strong that that's still okay. You know that when you get together, it's gonna be like you just talked, even though it might have been a little while. So I think what we were getting to yesterday in ways to make new friends. I think what most people look for was what that in between one that regular friends. And, Yeah, I think that that's where that you know that common bond social network that you could go. Well, this is fun. I don't have to go to this one like that. That occasional plus one type friend, right? You know, and I think it is hard. To make those kind of friends when you're in an in between age like because the other ones are things that you meet, like those first ones that you meet at school or work, And you really are only friends of them. Because you kind of all in the same locale where you have you didn't choose them. No, They're like family. You just picked me You were here. They're here. So you end up with friends and they become for me. At least my work. Friends become pretty close friends to me because I spend so much time at work, You know sometimes, but some people have a dip. Local time with that, like we have, Ah, an inherently social job like when we aren't like right now, for safety reasons were all spread out. But normally in a regular radio station scenario, we're on top of each other. So it helps. If you get along because normally don and I would be looking each other and we'd have to occupy one another. At least, you know, through our eyes. The whole commercial break, You know, even gonna be able to look at people in the face after this. I'm not going to know like I can't tell you that when you how do you do that? So I think finding regular friends where if you were going well, I want to go to this baseball game. But I don't want to go by myself. I think some people have a really hard time with those kind of things. What do you guys think? Yeah, I think so. Sure. I mean, there's certain things that I want to do, but I'm like I mean, rarely do I limit myself, right. You know, to doing things like I talked about this the other day. There's a little amusement park that it's for kids, but I just have wanted to check it out near Qom. Oh yes, Park. I don't know what it's called. But it was very cool. Yeah, but I wanted to go in there this or last summer. I wasn't paired up with a couple summers ago, and I just was like I want to go in there. But I don't want to be a weird single person to be friends. You know what I mean? I just felt crazy. Wants to go there with me, You know? Just think Next time you can borrow my son. Yes, too. That was my suggestion. Find someone who's got a kid. Bring him there. Then you can get it. Just in the moment on a Saturday when you're just there by yourself. You're like Okay. I can't go in there. You know what I mean? So Yeah, well, I mean, one of the things that I think I did, and grant you brought this up yesterday as a as a veteran Minnesotan that we do here that all the time for all of us transplants That is very difficult to make friends here and part of the reason why I always felt that is because ah, lot of Minnesota's they grow up here. They move like 12 miles away from wherever they grew up. They don't even move like to another city, right? Exactly. They move like that's why I picked 12, Miles 12 Miles, you know, they still stay within the same social network that they made in school, which I don't think a lot of other places in the country. Do you know they don't know. And like, So I have a couple of high school friends that I talked to occasionally but not even like on the phone like we ended up social media friends, And so I'm like, okay, and we check in. How's your kids? How this but we don't talk, but that Minister So her friends. They're the same people like and not even just high school like middle grades, right? I'm still friends with kids from kindergarten and I went on to college in California in San Diego, and I remember meeting people and Mike. Hey, So do you still talk to your and everybody was just blown away with the fact that I'm captain such touch with my high school friends? Absolutely not like not a man. I'm in college. We got you we got we got. We're good man, And I'm like, Well, they were a part of my life forever. And I don't want to just let them right. Like I lived here long enough that my accent from being in the Southwest, which is not a very deep accent, anyway, is pretty much gone. So people like, where'd you go to high school and like, not here, and they look Visibly disappointed because that's a lot of your biography here in Minnesota, and we went to high school here and there's a rivalry that still matters because we're you know, and I'm like, not in Arizona. Nobody cares. Yeah, so maybe we're just better at making new friend groups because we're accustomed to it as well. And so when you hear that, compounded upon the fact that Minnesotans already have these incredibly stable ties like it Z incredibly stable friendships that have been built up since they were kids. It does seem hard. I think to figure out what it is. So don you had a good one. You were talking about those meet up groups. Oh, my gosh. This is so good. If you don't know what this is, it is. Just go to meet.

"Year. Enjoy these best of on my talk one of 71. That's producer Grant. I'm machine in here with Don McLean doing the Donna and Steve Show on my talk won all 71 appreciate anybody that's been hanging out with us all. Today. We're getting winter. Finally. That's a little disappointing, but you know, we had a good run. We had a good ride with great December so he'd agreed, agreed. So all right, So I like knowing how much things go for something like, okay, that's completely worth it. And sometimes we're like, Oh, egg. No. And sometimes when I look at the amount of money that people spend on things like movie props just for fun to have in their house. I'm like If I had a bunch of money, would I be this stupid with it? Yes, That's why I wouldn't have any. By the end of the year I won the lottery and I was still have money invested Bunch of it. But then I would buy dumb things because you and I We already do it on a salir level because we both collect weird things. Yes, I would actually give you know I would give to charity, but I also would I done things I do that I give to charity on a couple of boards. I volunteer, and then I buy swords. I can't say, I think, teach their own. I spy collect sports memorabilia like crazy. So we've all got our little thing. Wait. Just it's all on many levels. So there have been things that I like. I wish I had that because I have a level in my head that I'm like, I'm not spending more than this sort of thing. You know, for sure I get it. The bucket list Items in the collector's world is what we call them to your bucket list. Items like if I could get an actual storm to re uniforms. That's one of the like top. I'm like I would pay a lot of money for that. So, yeah, so I'm sure that this list I'm gonna go. Probably I would do that There's gonna be things on here. Okay. In 2019. Somebody was super into, um, the money pie, Monty Python and the Holy Grail? Yes, okay at an auction last year. 72,000 Um, this is went for the killer rabbits of care. Ba na guy can't pronounce that I forgot what it's but it's the hand grenade, the holy hand Grenade, basically, which is what they're carrying around with them. Um, it's like the Holy Grail, but it's a hand grenade. Yes, and someone paid 72,000 for that price. Wow, It's basically just like a ball with a cross on top and some pearls. Wow. He's part of the whole show is that it was low budget and cheap. Yes, exactly. So it wasn't even a quality Bob prop. It was really like, just glue guns. Exactly. That's Panta, if you could make it in five minutes and just call it that, Yes. Okay, so also if you're into the Sopranos, the car soprano drove and Final three seasons was sold for nearly 120,000 in 2015. I kind of see that cause. I think cars just go for that. Absolutely vintage cars go for that. It also came with his driver's license that they used as a prop, so that's kind of fun, right? On Dwyer. All for if you're not a fan of Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. What is wrong dead? Is that right? Okay, so a Wonka bar and a golden ticket from the movie, Okay? Sold for $20,000 at an auction in 2019. Yes, the actor If I had my way I would buy that. Yeah, the actress who played for Rick assault, Don Cole. Um, she sold that for $20,000. So this is pre pandemic that you noticed 2019. But, hey, I've been involved in this collecting stuff, and still, I sell a lot. I do a lot of auctions and stuff like that. The collecting world, at least in sportsman. A billion. You'd think it would go down because people don't have this money, but because there's nothing to do there is your feeling unhappy, unhappy, so they're buying stuff like crazy to feel better. I've sold more stuff out of my own collection over this pandemic than I ever have. In all the years I've been selling like I bought my first sword that I bought in years. Like I feel like I was taking a moment and I was like, I'm putting this on the wall with the other ones like you know, kids, and I think it's also if you're a collector. We've had more time in our homes to like, figure out like I rearranged and re displayed my collection because I had time to redo stuff. Some, like you know what I've been meaning to get better shelves and so I displayed them better now, So I'm like, Oh, wait. I have more room for that than I thought because they're like there's a big space like a hinky hinky way before like cricket. So now that there are organized like I do have room for another one. Yeah, So, Yeah, I get that grand. Very valid points. All those air so true. People are just stuck with nothing to do. And they just served for Mikey and have it delivered to my house. A new, bigger shelf, right? I got mine on Amazon in presenting my house is like I would like those clear plexiglass shells to make these pop figures looked less cheap. Spend more on the sexy got shells I sent you I spent I spent Have a budget like framed, like, get you pictures of like dragons and stuff that I bought it like different cons from you want to support artists? So, but they come usually just a print, So I spent more money on the frames. Yes, then I did because I'm like, Well, I need to get the right frame. Amazing if you get something framed, Yes, expensive, So they look amazing. Now I'm sure the artist would love that tweeting pictures. I'm like, I'm very happy and they're prominently displayed in my home office. Cause I'm proud of all these things, and that's awesome. And I'm do the same thing, but tip for you when you try to sell it don't assume that because it was framed for that much. It's worth that much like that's what a lot of people do that like, Well, I framed it in this much like that. What? It's what it's what the thing is worth inside there. So it's a big common misconception in collecting room and you know what? I appreciate that information grant, but none of my stuff the stuff that I think eventually is like it's stuff. I like. I don't consider it collectibles like I have a couple of things like A doctor who action figure set that lives in my closet. It's not even on display because I don't It's not any of my stuff because I remember my mom had some cool stuff that if I had erected it would be worth a lot of money these days, But she was a good mom and let me play with things that looked like toys. Um, And so that's how I feel about most of my stuff. I have a couple of things that I'm like. He normally doesn't mess with my things. But if he opened this and like ripped up the packaging, like the packaging is part of what makes it so cool. So it's put away right now. Yeah, but most of myself, I'm like if he opened a ball and I came down and he was playing with him and my Star Wars, legal's play with them, I don't care playoff. You know, I'm that kind of nerd, so it's good to know that I'm not going to be able to sell them anyway. But I'm glad that you told me that I'm like I don't need to try and keep them pristine when it really doesn't matter, because that's what's your collection and you know, like I I collect differently like I have my own private collection, and then I have stuff that I keep on the side. Watch it raise up a little bit, sell it to buy something new from my private collection. It's kind of like a rotation thing, but to each their own, you know if you want to play with your collection play with it don't sense you know that. What's yours? It should enjoy it. However, you enjoy it. Some people enjoy it by watching it appreciate and looking at it. Some of us enjoy because we want to be able to go. No, I want to be part of this, You know, imaginary world, So I actually wanna tweak them or have them set out, you know, And so I think that you know you're right. It is different for everybody. E gotta bite white tongue. I was going to say something developed those different kinds of people. No, no moving on. Okay, We're gonna start a fight. McLean and some people are virgins and some people are Some of us managed to do both. Just because we keep things in their boxes. I dont Oh, my whole thing you like, but I think that's a good point. I'm like. No, actually, that's not. That's not that That's fair, but I like to spelling those myths. Yeah, I think everybody present because of 40 year old version. He has everything in boxes like a reference. You just need to find like minded nerves. I don't that should.

don't but this is a dream to me I mean not like fairy tale princess dream I don't have like delusions of grandeur like that but you know it's just it's so it's so they're so traditional like I know they have to be they can't you know shoulder shoulders are you know what it is we're weeks in their dresses yeah so they don't fly up you know and and fascinate orders and you know it's funny how they have like all one color it's very sometimes reminds me of very nineteen sixties yeah so I just loved all the outfits Kate has some of the heart the on it and it looks great he died did it with and it was also a kiss to address Diana war yes and speaking of Diana both of her sisters were there all my gosh in the in the picture of the family there the two right behind the couple in our chi those are her two sisters that's great I've actually never seen them at any offense so a couple people weren't there notably the queen right and of course Megan Markle's dad Thomas and of course he has something to say about it but the queen yes it is busy you operate yeah said that she wasn't there but she can't make everything and also it was the date was changed yeah so she has a very busy schedule she's ninety three years old her husband Philip is ninety seven we know Phyllis tired he is tired so they were some I guess rumor has it that they were at Sandringham which is one of their which is one of their Scottish estates and that they had things to do in Scotland they had different activities and things going on they change the date not at the last minute but it wasn't far enough in advance for her to cancel these very important plans these are plans I'm sure that involve people waiting for her for like they know a year in advance that she's you know yeah things are really important and so she couldn't be there yeah and maybe it would have maybe been nice to see you queen what what's your schedule like yeah can we reschedule this because everyone's going to accommodate you know yeah we'll work it out but there's twenty five people at the ceremony all our guests were gonna change the third time yeah exactly yeah but you know I wonder in the future just if if this baby you know he's you did with the history in looking back it's like oh look the queen mother isn't in my christening picture but they probably are they have a separate pictures that we don't see yeah there sure holding him it's not like he is going to happen photographic memory is there for me yeah all my god wants he'll also miss Charlotte take believe okay and there's been a lot of other things you know yeah like you said it they're busy the old they just want you know they got other things going on so you know he actually had turned in ninety eight Philip did last month it says retired from public duty any doesn't attend many events but apparently still drives a car oh my gosh let's get him guys things can happen can we make sure that Philip doesn't drive anymore yeah last year you got that accent or maybe those this year that was that's right you missed all ninety eight the check in as I sites and you know you don't want to take their freedoms away because I can I can understand I think that I would might feel that we tall it's a problem and everyone is rife sure right how relatable is that for sure and for some people it's relatable just this Thomas Moore Markel Megan's dad wire why do media outlets still talk to him now it's the Daily Mail of course well that's what maybe that's why is that yeah so there you the contacting him what is he said he is going on and on about well I would love to be asked to go he says I was an altar boy at twelve and a member of the queen's church at fourteen arches my new grand sense of course I would have enjoyed being there for the blessing wishing him and his parents happiness and health and then that's basically his statement all right well at least we didn't have to hear from it her stepsister or we could step sister she's like the worst Hey oh boy hopefully has nothing to say about that yeah there were two pictures released of the whole family and so that's really fun to see her mom was there course prince Charles and Camilla over there and William and Kate are the god parents so they were in the picture as well then Diana sisters and there's also a black and white picture of the three of them all says all close together yeah and that's where you really see a close up of that baby get to see his face even more all my gosh river cut his American he's also get mixed race so you're what you just wonder how those babies come out all my gosh right I'm always curious I mean no matter what you just want to see the combo of the parents yeah you know here is the most exciting one of that tire family all yeah he's go you see him and you're like wow okay cool what what did they make you know you just and now we see him as he can does he can you tell feels read here is this you can't really like it's mean if you it kind of looks like he has red hair yeah a little pet the elf what a privilege to see that baby grow up you know who's missing from the picture not just the queen but the the cousins the little kids that's true I think you know they just want to deal with it you think they sit home with the nanny it's like you kind of like it's just hard to manage little kids they're in there the way it's a little probably you know getting dirty or whatever just to have a calm day were the kids learn about maybe the kids are taking naps yeah the the it's funny this is your nap time how convenient oh my gosh yeah it's just maybe it was too long the day for them they're like why don't we just leave the kids at home I love that it's like normal family decisions sort S. and they don't have to follow all these rules that we think you know I don't need to be there and they probably just wanted some adult time even though I know it's for baby but twenty five people there your friends are there your families there kids you see over there yeah and also this was just this picture so who knows who knows that really right what a fun day for all of them also what was the other thing all I wanted to tell you about a

'The Flash' star Grant Gustin hits back at body shamers saying he looks too thin in leaked photos

"But. I saw this yesterday right before I left for the cat video festival and. I, I'm a big fan of grant Guston who is the flash on WBZ's the flash, oh yeah and before that he was in glee, that's really when I started liking him well I guess even if you're not a fan of comic book shows, or superhero. Shows or you don't even know who grant Guston is I think you'll find the story fascinating because I. Guess I was unaware. Of this until, I read his long. Instagram, post. I guess there is a photo leaked Of new costume that he will be wearing as the. Flash, in the new season season five of this show and I think this is another, example kind of like the toxic fan base of, Star Wars going after rose the actress that played Alexa I can't remember her name Tommy head and I feel, I feel. Very bad because Kelly Kelli Kelli TRAN Horrible things into, her horrible death threats into the director of last Jedi Ryan Johnson anyway toxic fan base this is another example of toxic fan base and it's it's gone too. Far it's just ridiculous so this photo leaked of grant in this costume a prototype I should say of this, new costume and fans freaked. Out non only they will they didn't, like the costume but then they were also body shaming grant Guston Horribly. Body shaming him and. The opposite of what you usually here I mean some you know when I I. Would imagine that when you hear body shaming you think. Of fat shaming you think oh we'll body shaming. All they're talking about a. Person being overweight well it happens. On the other side too and let me read you this statement this. Post from grant he. Writes so here's the thing about this BS, photo leak it's a cool suit that's a terrible photo that I was unaware was being taken. Much less being posted some things need work and they will be worked on we'll get there as. Far as the, body shaming that's what pisses me off not even just for my sake I've had twenty plus years, of kids and, adults telling near. My parents I was too thin I've had, my own journey of accepting it. But there's a. Double standard where it seems to be okay to talk about. A dude's body I do my best to stay in shape and add as much. Sizes I can throughout our, seasons I'm naturally thin and my appetite is greatly Affected by stress. Stress is, something, that ebbs, and flows, for me throughout flash season thus gaining weight is, a challenge for me I, didn't cast, a, slim actor as the. Flash I went to an audition for. A, role I never dreamed I'd actually book, but here I am fi seasons later on happy with my. Body and, who I am and other kids who are built. Like me and thinner. Than me should be able to feel the same way not only that but they. Should be able to feel like they could be a. Superhero on TV or film or whatever it may. Be some day I love. The suit that has been designed. For me and I think whenever one season in its entirety you will. Love it two things. Have been adjusted since at leak was shot, and more things will continue to be adjusted until it feels right and then he went to. Post a video and he looks totally kind of beaten and he just barely says anything other than. F- to the, person that leaked that photo Any kind of ended the. Video but he just if you look at. His face I don't know if it's still up. Let me click on his little head here. No it's just the it's just, the statement but he just looked worn down cool and if your brain that fast all, the time wouldn't you have a high metabolism and be thin I was thinking the same thing people not everyone is gonna look, like Thor yes the flash I mean he's a thing of the track stars in your college and your. High school I think of. My friend David Lang who was literally like our thinnest, by finished friend because he was a track star, you too great body. I I don't I look and I was really not schooled but I think midway through the run of our show I. Made I made a comment about not not that stereotypical eat a bagel but I, made a comment similar to that and I got a really thoughtful Email from a woman Actually. No, I think. He was, from a gentleman who really kinda schooled me in a really nice way about. How as a thin person, he's like you don't like body shaming in the other direction Jason and I I feel that. Way as an overly. Skinny, person and. I thought wow I never because because when, you look at it through your own perspective I would do anything, I'm meat from for me I win anything to be thinner but, I never thought of what it would feel, like to be overly thin and have people go oh Eat a cranberry eat a bagel or, something How awful that must be And to hear grant. I really liked this guy I've always been a fan of his and that kind of broke my heart, when I read that yesterday but also kind of a good for him We're here is because, there are a lot of people for sure Nissim, being EMMY Rossum she is the of shameless. Which by the way. If you're a fan should be watching. Showcase it's fantastic and season, eight is now available, on net flicks? She posted on, her Instagram and I was, like what is this, and she, says wanna know what I way, and then it's like all right I got gotta, click on this see what's going on and. In her Instagram stories here's a picture. Of herself at, the gym it's a selfie in the mirror there and she says the next thing in, the in the story, is a picture of her, with, these, words, on, top of it, three, best friends, since kindergarten Dr kindness empathy Jewish and proud daughter one happy marriage and she kind. Of goes on for all of, the things that she is accomplished. Being directing three episodes of television finished her screenplay an animal rescuer and she says this great message because you. Are much more, than a number? And kind of the same thing she just saying you know what all of these things add up Who, who I am? Not the size of my thighs Really good message yeah for the same reason that grant Same thing for all the kids out there and I feel this way being an openly gay guy in, media, for all the kids. Out there that feel like oh. Look at my body I could never be the flash I. Can't, even pretend to. Be the flash or for EMI I I love that I love it because you never. Know who you're affecting in a positive and negative way you never know who's hearing your. Who seeing your light and I. And I love it both? Examples, of

"Of the pertinent entertainment information and one little segment elizabeth is off don mclean has it today hey don judge judy and cbs just want an enormous victory against that l a talent agency that sued the network claiming that it conspired with judge judy to basically screw them out of prophets so they tried to sue judge judy and cbs saying we're responsible we came up with this idea and then you went behind our backs and paid her forty seven million since the show costs so much they didn't get they didn't get the profits of the show and they wanted more of the prophets and they also said that they were responsible for her career well the judge said no judge judy is a big deal and she's worth that much and it has absolutely nothing to do with you so they lost their face it's ridiculous this should have been thrown out the concept of judge shows has been around for years and she's a personality the shows the success because a it's simple it's a simple judge show court show and be it rides on the back of personality and you can't own that you can't create that that wasn't made in a lab a year moron yeah exactly okay jordan peele is going to tackle one of the most notorious true crimes of the nineteen nineties he is going to produce something called the raina it's a documentary series about lorena bobbitt who cut off the manhood of her husband john wayne bobbitt in one thousand nine hundred three and so this is a four part series he's gonna produce it for amazon and it's going to look beyond all the tabloid frenzy that the case you know that was a huge deal in nineteen ninetythree and also really look more into the allegations of domestic and sexual abuse that her that she claimed her husband was doing so more of her side of the story instead of just realising the act yes whiteman mood with the story for second yeah can i reveal something so i mean yeah so one of the first dirty movies that my friends that we ever rented when we were in hollywood yes.
