The Real Story Behind The Don McGahn DOJ Subpoena

"Great website. Theresa Munro Hamilton reports that the Department of Justice under the Trump administration secretly subpoenaed information. And former White House counsel Don McGahn, a Democrat. Rep. Adam Schiff, it was leaked to The New York Times, of course, seem to be falling apart. There's no real spying allegedly took place. The story was written by Michael Schmidt. He's a hack Charlie Savage, a hack. Reported quote that the DOJ secretly subpoenaed Apple for personal information on again and his wife in February, 18. And then barred Apple from telling them about the reported move during that time period under a non disclosure agreement. The devil appears to be in the details here, and this may not be the breaking story. The media are apparently running with Schmidt tweeted quote New DOJ secretly subpoenaed Apple for personal info of Trump's then White House done council dime again and his wife in February, 18. The O. J. Bard Apple from telling them at the time, But three years later, May 21 Apple told them. It's unclear what investigation it was related to Clarifying an interesting tweet was then issued by Savage. The co author. Quote, Apple recently told Don McGahn, Trump's former White House counsel. That the Justice Department had secret collected data about his account of a February 2018 subpoena. Caution. You can't conclude from this fact them again was intentionally targeted. It began was not intentionally targeted. Then the whole story is evidently not what was purported to be, You understand, folks. That is for investigating a leak, and there's a whole bunch of people that they're looking into. They're not supposed to investigate a leak. Apparently, that's the case, particularly if it That benefits the Democrats and hurts the country. The accusations do not go into detail about the DOJ investigation. It's unknown what federal investigators were looking into. Even if McGann himself was their primary focus, or whether it was somebody had contact with Apple reportedly did not inform again what they had turned over to DOJ. Report did state that Apple received them again subpoena weeks after another subpoena was issue that was connected to leaks and the Russia probe. The subpoena involves records belonging to California Democratic representatives, Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell. Again. The subpoenas were ostensibly an attempt to identify individuals who leak classified national security information. During Trump administration and were not specifically targeting shift. Is the Nest Audio smart speaker worth your time and money

"Despite. The name change the nest audio is really update to the original Google Home Smart Speaker. So what's new about it? So audio is a way overdue upgrade for Google the home speaker the very first one came out in two thousand sixteen. So it's been four years since they've done anything with US mid range speaker and. Everything is different. The design is different. The size is different. The sound quality is different even the price is different than the original Google home. It's sort of a totally new thing. So let's break down. In terms of price in terms of the the differences like dig into what exactly consumers are going to get with us next audio. So it's one hundred dollars and that is twice the price of a nest mini ness or fifty dollars. Usually you can get them for less if they're on sale and I suspect the same thing will probably happen with nest audio but on the shelf, the MS RPM is one hundred bucks. So for that hundred dollars, you're GONNA get a smart speaker that honestly it's smaller than I thought it would be when I got it. I was like Oh this is actually pretty compacted slake almost seven inches tall. And it has that fabric cover all the way around it. So the nest mini and the Google Home Max had that fabric on the front. This one has the fabric all the way around it, and it has a totally different shape. The original Google home in my opinion didn't look that great. It was kind of weird looking certainly, not like anything that Amazon put out, and this one is a little more soft around the edges. More of a design aesthetic to it that it seems like they pay more attention to that this time and I like that it comes in five colors comes in like a pink Blue Gray, a a green. And then like darker, Gray. SEGALLA options, you know if you want it to fit in your home if he wanted to look good on your shelf, it's definitely better this time around. What about the sound quality? How does that compare to the original and really has a compared to some of the other speakers in the market taking the Amazon Echo and apples homepod nest audio, sound way better than the Google home that came before it. The vocals our whole lot clear pretty much mid base. All of it is better than the home. It's definitely an improvement in that respect. I Don mcgahn Echo speakers because I am working from home like a lot of people and I only have a home pot and the old Google speakers at my house. So TVD on that also, Amazon. Just released a new echo. So we have yet to test that out as well. So it'll be interesting to see how those to compare especially because the new echo is also hundred dollars. So if you're on the fence and you don't quite know which assistant you want, it's going to be interesting to see which one is going to give you a better sound quality It's really close to home potty. My opinion to home pot is a great speaker premium speaker at obviously costs a whole lot more and it is a little bit better but I think if you're a regular person and you're not an audio file and you just want to hear good music. Nest definitely deliver that. You didn't like about this picker. I would say that the Google smarts that you're getting in wing talked about this a little bit more later on too but there's not much to it. You know it's it's Google speaker and I think maybe at this point in twenty twenty, we've gone through four or five almost five years of smart speakers and were sort of used to what does. So every speaker has google assistant in Google assistant is gonna be the Google Assistant. So you're not getting a lot of surprising new google features with it. I will say on going back to sound quality, there is left and right channel separation. If you have Tunis audio speakers on, there's already a promotion. If you buy two, you get a discount in I highly recommend that they did send me to I tried out the channel separation and it's really cool. It's really effective and it's probably the one thing that makes me feel like I got a lot from one hundred dollars for my two hundred dollars if you get a pair. That channel separation is cool. Yeah. I, know they made a big deal about it during the week Google presentation, the having sort of rooms and multiple speakers linked together. Alternately. For you is it worth the hundred dollar price tag that is you know quite a bit more. It's it's it's not a small mouth change especially during these times. Yeah. It's not hundred dollars a lot and a while there are discounts and promotions and you know there are I think plenty of people to pay Andre Dollars for speaker. It's a really interesting question because of what else? Google makes. So if you look at s mini, that's fifty dollars to get tunas minis for the same hundred dollars and suddenly you can broadcast to another room. You can have multi room audio, you can pair them together group to play music you know at the same time in different rooms. So you're GONNA get a little more functionality that way if you buy two many's rather than one nest audio. And then if you think about it from a smart home perspective, you can get a nest hub smart display for I. Think Eighty nine dollars. So for even less than that, you can get a Google speaker plus all the visuals in all the smart home integration you get being able to see a camera or a doorbell or watch TV or play a game on a smart display so. I think you have to really want the audio aspects of the Speaker to go forward over Tunis many or over a tub. But it's a good speaker you know and I think certainly on sale it's it's worth it hundred dollars. Isn't I don't think it's unreasonable if you want good audio and you wanna Google. Speaker.

House says it needs Don McGahn's testimony for Senate trial and because Trump could face more articles of impeachment

"Tonight House Democrats saying they're open to impeaching president president trump again. The House counsel pushing for testimony from former White House Attorney Don mcgann in federal court in federal court filing today arguing. His testimony is critical article as it could lead to new new articles of impeachment. This comes as the justice. Department is arguing. The court should stay out of the fight as impeachment is already going on Shimon Peres out front with with with much more on this first. All folks are going to a second impeachment. Are you serious but what is this all about. It's really about precedent for Congress. This is all about being able to get information formation that they believe they are entitled to and in fact some federal judges and this is why this is now in the appeals process have cited with Congress Saying saying that the president is not immune from the scrutiny. That members of Congress have put him now that he's under now because of the investigations In Congress so there are two things going on here and the first thing is is that the judiciary committee which has been looking into the entire Russian investigation the also the obstruction of justice. The extension of the Muller Investigation. They still want the Don mcgann testimony and they still Don mcgann to come in and testify. Obviously for Don mcgann He doesn't they WANNA do that. He's waiting to hear how the courts ultimately decide. But what makes him so important. He was one of the most prominent witnesses in the entire Muller investigation certainly certainly as a related to the obstruction issue. He spent thirty hours with Muller. There's a lot of information that you think that he can provide the other thing is that they want this information because they they say that it could help them in their process certainly in their impeachment because of the they say this shows that the president his past in previous interaction certainly when it comes to influence from foreign countries and also the obstruction issue. And so they're saying they need this information to all now. Obviously in the Appeals Court We'll see they do say as you point out that. Listen if there's information that they can get Regarding began that they can use That could potentially can lead to more Articles of impeachment. They would do that politically. I don't know if that's going to happen. But certainly the lawyers for the for. Congress are suggesting that that that could possibly happen to see you. Thank you so much all right. Everyone's back with me Corey. You've got I mean I don't know Carr Heads GonNa idea idea like more articles of impeachment coming forward but before that happens. What do you think of this that? The House has the need mcgann's testimony because it could lead the new information that could lead to more articles of impeachment. I really look. I think we absolutely need another article of impeachment on obstruction of justice. Mr Muller outlined ten instances the report of obstruction of justice. And the only reason why he didn't file criminal charges against the president is because they're a department of Justice memos that say were wrongly in my opinion that you can't indict diet sitting president but Hamilton and others who supported that idea of immunity. It was a controversial idea. Even at the founding people disagreed with it his point was that the reason for the immunity eighty is that impeachment has to come first that it's a constitutional obligation to remove criminal president so that he or she then can be tried after removed from office and the assumption was of course. "There is also new reporting on the criminal investigation surrounding those two associates of Rudy Giuliani. Love and Ebor. Ex-White House Counsel Don McGahn Defies Congressional Subpoena

"One of our top stories President Trump's former White House counsel, wasn't no show at a House Judiciary committee hearing on Tuesday committee, ranking member Republican, Doug Collins says the majority of Democrats are not acting in good faith. I'm glad that the chairman read into the record today. The mall report, I'm glad that he quoted as he said, this is a quote directly from the multiple. I just wish my chairman and actually read the rest of it that he has been offered to read, which he is does not to read, but he didn't leave out. One thing he left out something. In the mall report from just now. I read mcgann's testimony, beautifully did everything. But he left out what he doesn't have to come back to in the frustrating thing that brought us here again. And again, and again, and that is the conclusions. There was no collusion. There was no obstruction. There's nothing here. After two years of doing this. We can read it in. You can talk about how you don't like it. You can talk about what you would like. But at the end of the day, it's interesting will read in the quotes that make the headlines, we're also going read in the bottom line of what was actually concluded. So the Democrats trying to the motor report concluded there was no collusion noth caution. Because report failed provide damning information against the president. The majority claims we need to dig deeper deeper, than the two years of investigation conducted by what is considered a prosecutorial drain thing because that probe ended without criminal charges against the president or his family, the special counsel closed up shop without giving Democrats anything

Don McGahn departs as White House counsel

"NBC news has confirmed that Don Mcgann is out as White House counsel today was done against the last day according to to White House officials. The New York Times which first reported the news says, Mr. Mcgann may have also caused more damage for Mr. Trump than any other White House official in the special counsel investigation. Mr. Mcgann has spent at least thirty hours with Mr. molars, investigators laying out how Mr. Trump tried to interfere with or quash the inquiry, including by trying to fire Mr. Muller himself in the summer of two thousand seventeen federal prosecutors met with President Trump's former personal or cone today at his attorney's office. A person familiar with the matter tells NBC news. Michael Cohen met with quote a group of state and federal law enforcement officials investigating various aspects of president, Donald Trump's family business and charitable organization according to CNN dot com. Yesterday, President Trump was. Asked about Michael Cohen's plea deal with federal prosecutors for the first time in an interview with the Associated Press the Associated Press, asked, president, quote, Cohen, testified under oath in federal court that you directed him to commit a crime. Did you, sir? Trump replied, totally false. It's totally false. The Associated Press followed up with. So he's lying under oath. President Trump replied. Oh, absolutely. He's lying. And Michael Cohen was a PR person who did small legal work, very small legal work. He represented me very little. It's a very low level in April one, Michael cones, home office and hotel room where raided by the FBI President Trump said this disgrace, it's frankly a real disgrace, say an attack on our country at a true sense. Join us. Now, John Holum national fares analyst for NBC news and MSNBC. He's co host and rooster of showtimes the circus and Mimi Roka's. Well, this former federal prosecutor in MSNBC legal contributor and John President Trump in in accusing Michael. Cone of being a liar tells the lie that Michael Cohen was just a small player in his operation who had very little to do with Donald Trump. Yes, barely knew him. I hard. I imagine that even has an opinion about my cone. I not sure he's ever heard of the man. He's never had any part of Donald Trump's life whatsoever. The only thing I think that's true. Lawrence of the things that Donald Trump said about Michael Cohen is that he did very little legal work for Donald Trump because it doesn't seem like he actually did very much legal work for Donald Trump because he's not really lawyer. He also didn't do much PR work. Although he did representing Trump in the press to some extent when he did for Donald Trump in the period of time the decade or so that he worked with Donald Trump not a little bit, but a lot every day for many hours every day. And if you've ever dealt with Donald Trump in those ten years or so, you knew the Michael Cohen was the guy you had to talk to to have any kind of interaction with Donald Trump? What he did was not legal work or PR work, but was business development work. He was the guy who made deals for Donald Trump. Here's the guy who cleaned up Donald Trump's problems. He was the right Donovan guy. He was the guy who went to Moscow and tried to make Trump Tower Moscow happen and to many other countries around the world. So is Trump telling the truth about the fact that. Clone was not much of a lawyer for him. Yes. Was is Donald Trump telling the truth about anything else related to Michael cones degree of involvement in his life? No, all of that is a grotesque live and vanity fair's reporting tonight about Michael Cohen despite having no formal cooperation agreement with the government Cohen has willingly assisted in provided information critical to several ongoing investigations according to sources familiar with the situation in a string of meetings that have exceeded more than fifty hours. Maybe Roca one is that tell you, that's a lot of time tells me he's got a lot of information and they are interested in hearing what he has to say. Everyone should understand though no one's going to take Michael Cohen's word at face value. They're not going to just write down what he says, and then you know, go in to the grand jury and based charges against anyone or any entity on that alone. They are
