This is a Bloomberg business flash. Quite a robust rally in the Asia Pacific here at the moment if you look at futures, and even the cash markets and the limited market action we see the nikkei up one and a half percent, the SX 200, up one full percent by now you've heard a lot about the fed chief Jerome Powell indicating a slowing down of the pace of rate hikes. But what about what's happening in China? China is amending its COVID approach and we heard from the vice premier soon line. So this is not an official of the health commission. This is about as high as you can get except for the general secretary himself saying and actually putting this on omicron saying that as omicron becomes less severe, the anti virus fight can move into a new stage and thus the amending the COVID approach. So investors feasted on that, Alibaba was up 9.6% that was precisely what the NASDAQ golden dragon China index was up 9.6%, and that's a lot more than the gains we saw on Wall Street. So perhaps to global investors, the reopening of China, if indeed that's what's happening, it's just as important. If not even more important than the fed indicating a slightly slower pace of rate hikes. We'll get to some of the numbers when we look at markets again in 15 minutes. That's a check of market action. "Much running Jerry Junior on the show, so we just had I love the gym room. So we just had a caller Jerry, who wanted me to ask you if you would go out and find guys wearing Dodgers caps and survey them about Dave Roberts. I'm not gonna do that. But I will ask you to just give your perspective because this guy was pretty angry. Why does he have Robert The guy just won the guy just wanna world Syria's in look, I think Don Manley is a great skipper, but but clearly not necessarily easy to be the person between the Dodgers impressive front office an impressive clubhouse day. Like Dave Roberts is handle that really impressively. What's your evaluation of all the folks who are really angry at Dave Roberts? And there's some of them in L A. Because the Dodgers have lost some close games this year. Dave Roberts is I think I saw this That last week he's the winningest manager as far as percentage wise in the history of Major League baseball. I think fans get spoiled. Ah, lot of times when you win When divisions last year in the world, Syriza and you make it off to a slow start the Dodge Hopefully what 17 and 15 2 games brought 500. We're asking for Dave Roberts get fired. Are you kidding me? Less than six months ago, we won the World Series. You're gonna have your ups and downs, especially in a long season. 162 back to the grind. You're gonna have your bad weeks have good weeks and I'm good months and bad months. That's just the nature of this beast. You don't remember what three weeks ago everybody wanted Aaron Boone's head in New York. Listen, These guys are baseball lifers, You know, they understand you're gonna have ups and downs this game and you want guys like Aaron Boone you want guys like Dave Roberts had been to the fire that are great communicators and understand this We trust you guys. We trust that Over the long course of a season. You guys are going to play at your best, You know, most times, So Dave Roberts done a tremendous job. Anybody acting for his head is ridiculous. Jerry Hairston Jr here. I agree here on the gym room show I'm Bill writer filling in Jerry. It's a long season. I'm not writing off the Dodgers or the Yankees. Those of the two Favorites entering the season and the two respective I think largely believed to be best teams in baseball in the national in American League, respectively. Who do you buy Maura's just a challenge to those teams. The Giants. So far, you know the play ball this year or the Red Sox, who has more long term, you know, ability this season to make it interesting with one of those two clubs. I would say the Red Sox because, you know, they always have that long money. When I said long money, they could make it. Difference. As far as if you're in that race, you go get a stud pitcher, stud relieve or a big bat. I like Alex Cora's and energy. He knows how to win a championship and he knows what his team needs and how to fire him up. So I would give the Red Sox see edge. But don't count on the Giants, too, Man. They got a team that swinging the bat pretty well. And they're starting pitching has been outstanding. I think they're about ah, year or two ahead of schedule, but if they continue to pitch the way didn't do it. I'm gonna be in this race here. Here's in, junior, uh, you want a world series of the Yankees? You played for a long time with the Dodgers. Your associate ID widely of the Dodgers, because your Dodgers analyst and you spend a lot of time in the West Coast. But you also played with Cubs and you're from the Chicago suburbs. You from neighbor Ville. I knew you're gonna bring this. I know. I know you knew I did. So, my cubby, so I don't think you're very good. Sweep the Dodgers do you like? Are you watching that game? And you like fist pumping the Cubs, like, Come on cubbies, or you are. You're like, Where does your heart going? Those moments. The Dodgers pay my check, bro. I finished back here with the dog. I gotta brush and I grew up. I grew up as a Sox fan, even though I did play for the couple. I always root for the cubs because I have friends over there still. Make no mistake about it. I was rude for the Dodgers this past series, but big credit to the Cubs Man. They've played a really good baseball of late the last week or so they're starting to swing the bat. Anthony Rizzo, Chris Bryant there back to swing the background like they didn't On 16 17. So if they continue to swing the bat like that, we're gonna make some noise. I'm Justin May that injury is such a bummer for that, dude. And just what an incredible, incredibly talented pitcher But you still have a Dodgers starting rotation. That is, It's so stupid. How low did they are? Even with Dustin may going away, obviously, for for the season, the offenses is loaded. The degree to which you're worried about the Dodgers. Is it zero. Is it 1%? I mean, what do you view? What's your view on the Dodgers in the long term this season? Your long term. I still think the Dodgers have the best rotation in baseball, You know, even with the loss of Destin, may we have a young kid Joe SIA Gray, who I think is going to be a part of the rotation very soon. He just dealt last night in Triple A. They got Trevor Bauer Walker Bueller Furious, and, obviously Clayton Kershaw, so Any time you have a rotation like that, I'm confident the loss of dust. It may hurt. You know, on a couple of fronts, he was starting to figure things out. You know, he's a three pitch pitcher last year, just a one pitch pitcher. He has excellent breaking ball and he really sure development cutter and for him to be lost. It's just sad because he was starting to figure it out. And just I hurt for the kid because he works extremely hard. And just not being able to see him pitch Definitely gonna hurt. Jerry stands coming coming around in New York, and it's a long season. The Yankees pitching staff. The outside of that one. Ace isn't exactly the stuff that at least right now strikes fear into the hearts of hitters. Do you have the same feeling of the Yankees? Do you think New York's going to be a top that division and one of the contenders come? I don't know. August I do especially way Jean Carlo Standard swing the bat. He looks healthy, and if he stays healthy, he's an M v. P candidate..
