Donald Trump, Ivanka and Don Jr. Must Testify in Letitia James' Probe
"The New York attorney general has gotten court authority to depose former president Trump, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr.. Now the last two will be matter of fact. There's not that it's hell. The accountants withdrew their bank statements. If you think that the Trump kids or the president looked at the bank statements, okay, you can believe that. There's no evidence of that. I'm not sure what the book show, I don't know if they're cooked. I don't know if they borrowed money against fake assets. I don't know any of that stuff. Neither do you. All I know is I could prep Don Junior. I could prep Ivanka to do a deposition. I'm not even good at that, but I could do it. I could be the greatest lawyer in the world. I could be federal judge dick Leon, really one of the better litigators I ever saw work. I could be, I could be dick Hauser, but you'd have to get him off the golf course. And he doesn't do that anymore. Basically, at a restaurant, at home or in a golf course. And I get the best lawyer in the world. I get Stephen Larson in LA. That's the guy I'm calling whenever I get in trouble. And say, you've got to do depo prep with former president Trump.

If Hunter Biden Was the Son of Donald Trump...
"You know what the crazy part is in all seriousness if the hunter biden or a for w relative of president trump. But any republican. Okay he would have an army of fbi agents hunting him across the country instead he gets to what bank and celta anonymous to anonymous buyers for five hundred gs aqap the absolute duality of the criminal. Justice system is pathetic. It really is i mean. Look if don jr. so much is lost in apple watch They would literally have. They swat teams. They'd have the you know the military guys come down to the helicopters on the repelling off the sides skyscrapers and they would you know they'd be all over it but hunter biden literally talking deals. You know having a compromising material on the laptop and this is kind of where we are. And it's a. I don't think even the most hardened skeptic in the mainstream media would have thought that joe by and the entire biden Apparatus would've been this big of a disaster. This quickly But president trump called it.

"If feels like he would be kind of a big brooding sort of like grump. He definitely could be grumpy sometimes. But on the like his grubby and then on the flip side of that he's like a song and dance showman type. He's just he's a he's a wonder his many many facets and i can't wait for them all to be. Smoothie is very funny in this movie and he's lovable and annoying and like you know he's just he plays that kind of like dad figure that embarrasses you and sends the wrong thing which is crazy because there's no possible way he could be my father he's way way too young. It's just crazy anyway. That's how it is in the marvel. Cinematic universe we look. There's always there already is a willing suspension of disbelief just make forty two year old person. The father of thirty six year old woman but that's fine grain is beard right exactly You know you guys have sort of the original vendors group you guys got some tattoos There is there existing shared. Tattoo muncie vendors. I guess we have. We haven't avengers tattoo. The only person who doesn't have it is mark ruffalo because he's lame basically. Yeah and we'll try to get him to do it. Weird said what about. We did it in like white ink. What if it was like we did in water and we could just have the lena the experience of all doing together he just. It was like not he. Just shut it down. He was not a thing he departed. Buber i mean what a big party pooper. Why it's a real. It's a real. Bruce banner move. Let's be very very very. Hey my last question is colin. When he's been on the show is often talked about The terrible gifts. That michael gets did did michael j. You guys a wedding gift yet. This whole thing between them with the gifts basically. It's hilarious for them. And then i get left with all this giant junk. I can't get rid of personalized. And i'm not going throw out like a big michael the other day. I don't know why this thing aim to our house it's humongous. It's this massive framed. Like when you go to like a planet. Hollywood style type restaurant and there's like memorabilia. They framed like a giant hockey thing has all the different trophies like that. But it's a michael chain one for something i don't know what it is is basically free shrager it. He didn't want his office or his home and he just ships us this crab. I have to figure out what to do with it. It's it's i hate it. I think both of them right now. I'm just like what next. Why am i getting your schwab any swag. I remember by the way. Colin is also a perpetrator of this kind of thing because the first one where my wife and i i live together. We had like a housewarming party for my birthday. And colin brought me a card. And when i opened the envelope two dollars worth of pennies spilled on the floor as he wanted me to go. Get a coffee at my corner deli. And we found pennies per year afterwards intellectually like was so funny the first thing he ever got me was i guess he went on some trip. You know he would go when he does. Stand up he goes. You know all over the place. And then i'll go to like these weird little antique malls and stuff and find haunting presence for people and he got me a bullfrog like a taxidermy. Bullfrog playing i think like the banjo or something like that and just left it. When i was in the room he left to go to work. Or whatever when i came out it was just sitting on the floor and with all card that said like ice or so creepy and then i tried to get rid of it but i felt bad throwing it away because it was the first president he got me and so he would just move it around to different parts of my house like i would open up to get you know a little Like a glass for roads and it would be in there in the drawer an end. Sometimes i'd open up my closet and try to pull shirt on and be hiding behind. Always awful absolutely awful. Well i'm just going to give you a recommendation. "Cova cases are once again on the rise especially in parts of the country where vaccination rates are lagging in a contagious new variant spreading. We desperately need to get as many people vaccinated as possible. The evidence that these vaccines are safe and effective is overwhelming from both clinical trials in real world studies and yet over the weekend. Attendees at the cpac cheered. The news that the by administration has not been.

"Rising in states where. Vaccinations have lagged for more on this. It's time for a closer look. The trump era revealed a lot about our politics but one main thing is that many prominent republicans are just super weird here for example is donald trump junior just being super weird while trying to tell some incomprehensible jokes at the conservative political action conference in dallas over the weekend. Texas has always led the charge to about like a couple months ago. And then austin sort of took over. I don't know guys like texas was leading. You're still top twenty five. We gotta work on that stuff because most people have lost their minds right last time. Somebody bombed that badly. He became the joker. Don junior looked like he just walked into a scene in the student. Improv show in blanked. Done you said freeze. You gotta have something a. Why is he looking off to. The side is the sandman. They're about to sweep mop stage. Done junior has all the charm and charisma of dude. Selling time shares in a hotel conference room was powerpoint just crashed. Texas has so many great opportunities as you can see here Okay nope not getting a picture here but we know we know the big towns in texas right. Dallas house tune saint tonio. That's not right. Oh i think i'm gonna pass out. It's one thing to be republican and believe republican things. But they always take into such weird extremes tennessee senator marsha blackburn who for some reason last week decided to go on a bizarre rant about how under socialism taylor swift wouldn't be allowed to perform music when i'm talking to my friends who are musicians and entertainers say if if we have a socialistic government if we have marxism you are going to be the first one who will be caught off because the state would have to prove your music and you know taylor swift came after me and my two thousand eighteen campaign but taylor swift would be the first victim of that because when you look at marxist socialist societies they do not allow women to dress or seeing our be on stage or to entertain or the tight music that she would have first of all what you're describing. Sounds like a record company not socialism. Second even if you were a repressive dictator the last person you'd want to go after would be taylor swift because she will write a song about your bad behavior and it will be the song this summer and even your closest friends will sing along to it at barbecues you were at and then when they make contact with you. They'll pretend like they're not singing along but you'll know they were they were and they'll say hey are you the guy in fatigues is fatiguing her and you'll be like i don't be anybody but you'll know you but it's true. Everyone knows in countries with robust social welfare programs. Women are not allowed to sing or be on stage. That's why the icelandic government famously tried to outlaw bjork until she raised an army of me. and that's today's jorg. Which is an icelandic word. Meeting joke about bjork. That'd be clear. I have no idea what blackburn is talking about. It's hard to make sense what goes through these people said. It's like trying to directions from an annoyed parisian. I think he said. The liuw is inside. That mcdonald's i think what he said was that's your liuw. Seems very rude with that said. Do you want to go to mcdonalds. So republicans think the left wants to band music now arguing that the biden administration is gonna use covert vaccine outreach as an excuse to come to your door and invade your privacy texas senator. Ted cruz tweeted last week. When the biden admin calls for targeted door to door outreach to get people vaccinated it comes across a g man saying we know you're unvaccinated. Let's talk comrade ted. Please stop using slang like jiman- sound like a rejected. dick tracy. villain bears scraggly charge of our getaway. It is big boy booked solid a flight to cancun bad news. It comes back tomorrow. Our own beers. Scrag dead pacino. Oscar nominated for that role. Infer that the academy should be applauded and yes. I spent the last two weeks at impression camp as a counselor to spend elaborate conspiracy theories about otherwise humane sensible policies. Because that's all they have. It's not threatening or ominous to raise awareness about vaccines. That's why there was never a straight to video steven seagal movie called raising awareness. Although i do think i just saw trailer for a new liam neeson movie called welcome wagon where he rides in a literal wagon and welcomes a gang to town with his this. I think you'll find. We have a nice library and a lovely park. But you really want to check out our graveyard. We didn't get to that and impressions camp because you made me come back. It makes sense to go to. Communities vaccination rates are lagging reach out to people directly especially since in those same places cova cases are once again rising. It's not about government control. It's about saving lives. Cbs reported this weekend. That almost all of the new cases ninety nine point seven percent among people who've not been vaccinated and i can't believe it's necessary to say that but here we are saying all the red people at the beach or the ones who didn't wear sunscreen. We know what the sunscreens for. There's nothing nefarious about community outreach. To get more people to take lifesaving vaccines just listen to bind. Described the plan. Now we need to go to community by community neighborhood by neighborhood and often times door to door knocking on doors to get help to the remaining people always talking about raising awareness scenarios with low vaccination rates. Joe biden isn't gonna personally knock on your door. Noontime binds ever knocked on doors to let them know. He's about to set off a ton of fireworks. I just wanted to give you the heads up case freaks out your dog. We desperately need elected leaders and influential republicans to help get as many people vaccinated as possible especially since a lot of the people refusing. The shots are trump supporters in deep red states and yet instead republicans are spreading and conspiracy theories about binds community outreach plan purely as a political tactic to scare voters marjorie taylor green Tweeting this biden pushing a vaccine. That is not. Fda approved shows covert as a political tool used to control people. People have choice. They don't need your medical brown shirts showing up at their door ordering vaccinations. You can't force people to be part of the human experiment governments. We don't want your benefits or you don't want your welfare. Don't come knocking on my door with your felty out. You leave us the hell alone in now sorting talk about going door to door to be able to take vaccines to the people. It the thing about the mechanisms they would have to build to be able to actually execute that massive of thing and then think about the what those mechanisms could be used for. They think don't take your guns. They go door. Take your bible. Yeah you think. The government has to build a whole new mechanism to go door to door to raise awareness about vaccines which they could then use to take away. Bibles in your guns. Have you ever heard of the postal service. Imagine government workers going door to door in their high socks and their bucket hats in their short shorts. Come into your house to take away. Your bibles guns and your outgoing mail. Next thing you're going to know they're going to tell you. I need to put a stamp on my mail and then can't just stuff the cute neighborhood. The box in abu dhabi on it will last. I checked mailing a cat to abu dhabi. Was my god given constitutional right. what's next. I'm not allowed to hate mondays..

"Reporting was that he didn't wanna lend his name to something that already existed but then like they said he had been turning down offers like big offers from like these conservative social media platforms that really want trump to be their marquee signing and but those sort of reporting sort of ended with like but that could be changing as their financial situation becomes more strained like. Oh fuck just gimme like some numbers here. But i would love to see an info graph of what we're talking here like. What what the bills looked like every day. Who owes money. 'cause there's a ton of people who are have been in orbit of them who are now in their own legal trouble newly yo. I need you to help me too. Because i'm being investigated for riding with this shit so or should i flipped. Yeah yup imagine the boot camp where his dad who hates him where donald trump junior dead is trying to like turn him into a viable like political successor to him because that that has been like that like donald trump junior was going to be the second coming. But i can just imagine like donald trump like working with him on his hand gestures to try to make him in do like a clone of himself but he hates him so much and also probably like you know is such a narcissist in like. Hey you know secretly hates himself so it just seems like the worst toxic environment that i wouldn't wish on my own worst enemies but i would definitely wish on them. Yeah it's cocaine face also kinda looks like i've been crying all night favor you know and i don't doubt that don jr. has done that and now it is very much like if he were ever groomed to be to run for president. Private Undisclosed Emails Leaked From the Mueller Investigation
"Got another three hundred pages or so of underlying mueller investigation emails and texts and memos and in them we learned that don jr. vodka and kushner way more involved in russia talks than previously known at least to the public. I mean we knew Ivanka reportedly informed a co co-chair of her father campaign that her brother don jr. could make recommendations for military advisers while kushner offered details about his private meetings with henry kissinger We also learned that in january. Twenty seventeen manafort. Send an email to katy mcfarland. That's flynn's number two Saying i have some important information. I wanna share with you that i picked up my travels over the last month. Well she manafort was already you know knee deep in shit by this point she immediately fired off an email to flint. Saying hey given all. That's going on. Meet with them. And flynn said i would not be with him until we're in the hot seats unknown who he is working for and perception would not be good especially now they even knew it. They even knew it the record show. Flynn soliciting trump strategist bannon as far back as september twenty fifteen before bannon officially joined the campaign steve. He wrote just reaching back out. Let me know if mr trump needs any help with national security intel an intel community issues of foreign policy. So that's i think flynn's i reach out that december. He wrote corey lewandowski. And said i wanted to send this to you this past week but had forgotten shared a link to an article from russia state run sputnik news quoted. Flynn saying the. Us must work with russia and arab countries to defeat isis. He said this is an f. y. But something trump should at least be aware of. I have been very outspoken. On the issue at this point in the conflict with our current administration has run out of good options. also i met with president putin last thursday in moscow. We actually sat at dinner together. "There is a big rumor this morning and whether or not it's true that avant could trump's gonna take on marco rubio and next election. It's gonna be a tough sell to win a really bad idea. Well column especially now is probably listening mr president. If you're listening tell you daughter wait. I don't see that happening. I really don't i what i could see. Lara trump in in north carolina. I guess that is going to happen. Yeah they said she is she running for the senate. I think it is a senate. Yeah okay well it it for people who didn't know who they were before everybody knows who they are now right to the the they got over the past four years whether good or bad. I'm surprised Don jr. isn't running for something to be honest again bad idea. It's just they can do so much. More outside of the swamp
Republican Congressman vs. David C. Smalley
"Let's jump straight in. Because i want to bring our guest in on the conversation immediately. He's a former congressman from virginia's fifth district he's now nc are is chief strategist and author of bigfoot. It's complicated which. I really hope we have time to get into and i really hope. He's still a republican. Let's find out join me in welcoming denver riggleman to the show. Thanks for joining me today. Sir thanks for having me sir. Oh well you heard that with us for the first time it just came out moments ago. What are your thoughts. So i'd like to state as we start here. The president trump reid tweeted a few months ago that the joe biden. Kill seal team six. I think god you're right. No you know. That's and that's what i was when i was listening to that speech after what i heard Down near the white house right before the siege on the capital. In fact that i've been in. Congress have been in the house. And i knew some of those people that spoke like madison call or mo brooks of talked to many times Don jr. meant obviously rudy giuliani I've met obviously and and what i really saw. Their david was absolute Language to incite really. It happened over the months and months and to hear that right now. My my first reaction is not really a politician but as an intelligence officer and something counter-terrorism like somebody's very afraid of the senate trial for impeachment. I thought the same thing Michael came in a few seconds in michael goes. Looks like a hostage video like he looks like he like. It's not really his words. He just feels the need to say these things he had to. I mean you know. The thing is is that his his term does end. I know that there are some people that are still listening to pastures and trucks talking about biblical prophecy that president trump is right now hidden a bunker and mike. Flynn is going to be the next vice president but by the way that's true. I just saw this video two days ago. One hundred eighty five thousand likes david on a facebook video from some dude in a truck saying that you know he's a pastor and had biblical prophecy and he just went through the whole cunanan thing and i just shaking my head about the ridiculousness out there. But he still wants to keep his brand to. He's got to make money. And how's he going to do that. And i think there's a lot of things you need to worry about. And that speech was the copa. That was so too late and show not anything that he said before that very hard to believe men. You're spot on. I mean. I i you know about damn time is the first reaction and then does he even believe the stuff he's saying is the second reaction So late you know so late to the party So that so that my listeners have a little bit background as to why this conversation between the two of us is so important You know you're you're only a former congressman because apparently you weren't conservative enough for your district right you. You lost to someone who was far more conservative and on top of that. I've seen you. I've seen pictures. Anyway of you officiating. Same sex wedding so you don't sound very republican the to us sir. What's going what's going on over there. Why are you so open minded and logical. You know when iran. You know. i've only been. I don't know people know this about me. I was i was a ceo. sell my company in two thousand twelve doing counterterrorism and counterintelligence work. Could you know not. Only that i can. I can go back in time. If i told you the crazy stuff. I've done like we mission plan. The first bombing runs death in afghanistan for nine eleven. that was our squadron. It was me Oman training omanis on. F16 sixteen operations in two thousand and ninety nine. I was on. The romanian serbian border for operation. Allied for trying to stop ethnic cleansing. I've had a hell of a life and that's just the beginning counter idea. Actually our team that was tracking sulejmani and two thousand six two thousand seven so when people saw my resume like this son of a gun never been in politics before when i ran as a republican i was asked to because the my predecessor had to resign because of alcoholism. Which is a little ironic. Since i'm going to stiller. I one on accident one by one. Vote against a christian. Dominion est They called me a baby killing sodomite But i thought if if practicality and i was a good guy team player like in my military days voted independently when i had to I thought i would see that. I care about people more than the career. Because i didn't need the paycheck and sadly after the same sex wedding david conspiracy theory started about me that i was working for soros to turn children into alternative lifestyles by funding schools. To teach that doug gay sex was okay. And that i really started saying cunanan was turning and blossom and this was back in twenty nineteen and since my background is in you tracking isis and al qaeda and disinformation and radicals. I said this also looks like that. We have almost the same type of thing here. We have people that are using language of dehumanisation and antisemitic. Tropes to go after people. And you know it's like a lot my book right. It's about bigfoot belief systems and take over people's lives so really been a hell of a time for me. I never thought that My family we get death threats You know i never you know. I never thought that. I can tell you this. Now that somebody would remove the lug nuts are in them all up on my right front tire at a rally where i came out and felt funny and took it to a shop and look like they tried to hurt me pretty bad so this has been one of my life has been like for the past two years david. And guess what athem you know. This is what they want to bring it. Bring it because i got fifty acres of distillery and i'm a second amendment guy and but i'm also a free thinker and pretty socially libertarian. So i don't know where. I fit bud

"It, folks. I've got a treat for you. I've got one of my favorite people in the world here, and I've got one of my favorite topics of the world. It's Liz shelled, and we're going to talk about Eric Swot. Well, hi, Liz. Hey, Kurt, Pull my finger. How do you say that in Chinese? Hey, I want you to listen to something. But they didn't maybe below the dignity of the Hugh Hewitt radio program. But me, Kurt Schlichter, guest hosting Wait. Well, that's out the window cut number 20 Don Jr Well as someone who was probably the number two recipient of his tin foil hat brigade attacks about Russia for years where he called me a traitor. I find it very ironic that he was perhaps sleeping with a Chinese spy that what but certainly that one had infiltrated his inner circle. And what I find even scarier is that You are one of the few people as usual, calling balls and strikes and calling this sort of stuff out while the rest of the media remain silent. We shouldn't be surprised about the media being silent on this issue, which is truly a national security threat, while this man sits on the House Intelligence Committee But we also shouldn't be surprised that someone who basically may have soiled himself on national TV also allowed his agency and his group to be infiltrated by a Chinese spy. So thank you for calling out Swalwell as well. Wow. Liz shelled silent but deadly Swalwell. Well, not so silent. Um This guy's on the House Intelligence Committee. You are a Washington insider. What the hack. Well, The story itself is horrifying, but I think it's overshadowed by this gentle caresses that the media is giving. Whoa, well on this. Everybody's giving Swalwell a gentle caresses. Hey, Uh oh. And he's just mean it's being treated that whenever the Democrats are caught doing something bad. Or someone or someone the verbs become, they become inactive. Yeah, it's the passive tense went made with which one was passive remains to be seen. Big for maid or all of sudden, Swalwell is just sort of a passive actor. He's being gently caressed by the media. When four years of hair on fire. Greening about foreign interference in the election. What? What? What's beautiful about this list? Sheldon, you're your own editor in American greatness. I want to make sure I got that in there for you. Yeah, And you should be followed at Star chambermaid on Twitter because you are pity and and And virulent, much like cove. It um you know, Swalwell has been one of the leaders of the whole trump. Yeah, You're right. You're a victim of for your you're willing tool of a florin influence Well, speaking of willing tools Um Yet hope Is there? A such thing is hypocrisy anymore, or is that like, Not a thing? No, there isn't. It just gets the media controls the thought. And the narrative and they just they just a race it you know, it gets memory old. Nobody's going to ask him. Well, you had a you were associating with a spy. That's some kind of relationship with the spot. Sometimes the Chinese missionary money for you. Well, at the same time you were complaining about Trump being Anay Geant of Russia and yes, well, well, was one of The most visible people. He wasn't just some Rando and that group of 435 members in the house he was, you know, didn't never found a camera he didn't like on this issue. And now all the sudden I haven't heard it. I haven't seen her. Heard anything. He has. No, he has no common about it. And I bet nothing happened Well on a more serious level, Speaking of never met a camera he didn't like. What do you think the chances are? That, uh, Chinese Intelligence Service has some action photos of Eric Swalwell and this Miss Fang lady and I'm not And look 100%. We're making cheap jokes about it left and right, But this is a guy with top secret access. What? The hack? Well, why else would they cultivate a relationship with him? Because he's charming. And you say Hey, Can you pass some intelligence onto us? That's not how it works. Well, he looked. He looked no one passes like Eric swollen. But here's another thing. You look at the Axios story. There are other people in there. My condos a congressman, Ro Khanna. Uh, And they've all got some in common. There will theme And sensing it seems I know they're all Democrats. Yeah. What? What? What now? I don't. I would not be surprised if a few soft Republicans fell for her eager charms, where the currents of some other Beijing honeypot Like Do you think you know, especially considering some of the videos we've seen off Chinese officials crowing about how now that You know, Should Biden be inaugurated? I think the chances are likely that he will be there back in the game back in power friends back in the day we got friends back at the top. What the heck and I know, I keep saying that, but what the heck? Well, I'll still want to point out that the feds notified Eric Swalwell of this. They didn't because he couldn't figure it out, right. He's like Well, this this, you know, she's a DC eight. You know, she she she can she wants she wants me cause I'm I'm charming and handsome e. I mean, like he literally didn't figure this out. Well, and But why wasn't he charged? Why didn't this Why didn't the Fed charge him for participating in espionage? I mean, Donald Trump didn't get the courtesy of a warning. I know it's weird high. Exactly. In fact, it didn't say Get up to 10 immediately. In fact, in they hide it from him. Yes, they did, And they plan to keep hiding it from him once he took office, so This reminds me of the situation with Dianne Feinstein, another California Democrat who had my knees my working for her for 20 years. Yeah, but that's the Senate Intelligence Committee. Well, you know who didn't right? Who hasn't had some chai? Calm, James Bond, uh, hanging around. You know, their office taken notes. I mean, The Chinese.
Reimagining Our Country
"All right so our first topic. you know. we're not gonna be able to talk about this much longer. Which is a fabulous fabulous thing. Oh boy but we are going to talk about what's happening in terms of white house. Politics for a moment is getting interesting. Yes on tuesday attorney. General william bar finally went against donald trump's lies about the election and told the associated press that there was in fact in no evidence of widespread fraud. In other words. He was telling the truth. Thank you william bar for doing that. Time too far. He's feeling a little like he doesn't owe anything to trump right now. This point because he's on the outs and so he's getting a little Anyway when he did that there was backlash from right wing media and also from trump who is still claiming fraud. One month after the election and who on wednesday night posted a forty six minute speech filled with more lies. It's been reported that donald trump is also considering all these pardons for his children. Don jr. eric ivanka his son-in-law jared kushner as well as his lawyer rudy giuliani. None of them have been charged with any crime. They would have to put on paper. What are the crimes that they have allegedly or not committed in order for there to be a part in as far as i understand so there's a lot of shall we say political chaos that a lot of people are still addicted to but i'm over it. You're over but it's like roman times you know it's like a bad. Pbs like caligula show anyway meanwhile while that is happening and give it up for billy bar finally took him a couple of years but he finally stated facts meanwhile while this is all happening joe biden is forced to stay patient through the chaos and continue with his transition and while i do think this whole trump side show is going to continue even after he leaves office. Maria and i think he already has Whether the big cable news networks are gonna cover him. he'll have the right wing covering him no matter there's this whole question about the future of politics after trump right so we talked about how much black lives matter and the movement for racial justice this year has impacted right the election but then on wednesday former president barack obama and also bestselling author now please suggested movements like de-fund the police are counterproductive. I guess you can use a snappy slogan like defunding police but you know you lost a big audience the minute you say it which makes it a lot less likely that you're actually going to get the changes you want done but if you instead say let's reform the police department. So that everybody is being treated fairly. The divert young people from getting into crime. And if there's a homeless guy can maybe we send a mental health worker there instead of an armed unit that could end up resulting in a tragedy suddenly a whole bunch of folks who might not otherwise. Listen to you are listening to you. So the key is deciding. Do you want to actually get something done. Do you want to feel good among the people yard agree with and if so but here's the thing the way he it. Why did you have to be so dismissive of a move because it comes across as dismissive. Why couldn't you just be a little bit more respectful. I guess why couldn't knee of picked up the phone and had a conversation with angela davis. Okay who in many ways is his political godmother all of ours political godmother's because of her lung jetty and resistance and survival throughout all of this and what. Angela davis says is they weren't aware of all of the problems in the judicial system of the way in which it has been historically used and continues to be used as a weapon of oppression against black people. They wouldn't be so defensive about the whole thing. How can you say that This demonstrate that there is Justice in the american coors when we know that the jails prisons across the country are filled the brand with black and brown people. We know that on death row right now. The vast majority of the prisoners who are going to be executed are people of color. We know that when a black person is picked up from community and brought to jail he's going to have to depend on a public defender because more than likely he won't be able to hire a good lawyer and this public defender. What is he going to do. he's going to tell him to cop a plea even though he knows. And many cases that his client is just as innocent precedes. And so i'm going to try to do now. Is to build the very same kind of movement that was built around me and the kind of movement that liberated from prison and ordered to free more brothers and sisters. Because that's that's a real significance of this victory and

Head Of DOJ's Election Crimes Unit Steps Down; Don Jr. Cries "Deep State"
"Of Justice is election crimes unit has resigned in protest after Bill Bar said that The Justice Department can investigate voter fraud. Donald Trump Jr has accused the Justice Department official who oversees investigations of voter fraud of being a member of the deep state After that official dramatically quit on Monday. Richard Richard Pilger Resigned after Attorney General Bar authorized federal prosecutors across the U. S to pursue substantial allegations of voting irregularities before the 2020 presidential election. Is certified. I'm so ready for smart, boring administration. I'm so ready for the elder who is director of the election crimes branch of the Department of Justice. He's been there since 2010 step down. Within hours of Barr's announcement in an email he sent colleagues that was obtained by The New York Times and President Donald Trump. Sun Dawn Jr was quick to criticize Mr Pilger. Wait seriously, Isn't this the guy who was involved with the IRS and Lois? Learner in targeting conservatives and the tea Party. Maybe that's why he hasn't done asked at the Department of Justice has tag deep state. And the term deep status. It's thrown around like back in the old days when you know they'd call a woman of which you know, it's it's It's essentially the same thing. Well, you're a witch.
Sen. Chris Coons believes John McCain and John Lewis each left us an urgent message
"Chris coons welcome back to the PODCAST. Great to be on with you again. Jonathan. Let's start with the debate between president trump and vice president biden in Cleveland. You were there in preparation for a column that I wrote about the debate was looking for pictures as saw a picture in our system of you sitting in the audience in a mask and the look on your face even in the mask told a story talk about what it was like being at that debate in also given what we know. Now, what was it like being at the debate? Look it was bad enough with what we knew at the time Chris Wallace is someone I respect as a tough interviewer as a capable moderator. Struck, that from the literal opening sentence president trump was bullying him was insulting the audience was razzing in her racing. The former vice president did not in any way at any moment recognize or respect the rules that he agreed to. For this debate, I've been an elected official. Twenty years have been active in politics thirty. I've been to my share of rough and tumble debates particularly at local campaigns and I've had my share of unconventional onus but that was unbelievable. It was simply awful to sit through the rush the raw force of the negative aggressive insulting interrupting. Energy directed by President Trump at former vice president, Biden and the audience and our country in the world. One of my sons immediately following the debate texted me. They must be cheering in Russia and China the team of us that were out there to do sort of post debate spin rapid response for the Biden campaign were just silent as a group for minutes. Afterwards, it was really hard to endure. So Joe Biden Dr Jill Biden former second lady Joe Biden was about ten feet to my left and Mark Meadows and Don Jr. about ten feet to my right. And it was striking that they all walked in unmasked and sat there without masks through the entire thing even as staff person, I think a staff physician from the Cleveland. Clinic. Came around and try to get them to wear masks and it was striking to me at the time just how sweaty. Read how angry trump seemed through the whole thing. Later, when we learned that he was infected with Covid, nineteen may well have been covered positive for that debate. It added a layer of the and seriousness to the fact that he was literally yelling at Joe Biden for ninety minutes from a few feet away. I. Got Tested twice actually once rapid s one. The PTR test both negative, and then waited and waited hoping in until we got a negative test confirmation for a joe and Joe Biden there's now a covid nineteen outbreak at the White House that has infected I think at last count twenty one people including senators, senior members of the president's team as well as president trump and first lady Melania trump staff. Of the White House reporters and they are still refusing to do even the most minimal contact tracing ordered to publicly embrace a relevant public health standards. So what was already a horrifying experience being in the room for that debate? Then over the next week has sort of turned into a slow rolling horror as the president has made his own covert infection into. A piece of political theater and is now being replayed on cable shows all day a proudly taking off his mask and recording. Then re recording his triumphant reentry still infected to the white. House. I I was gobsmacked at the visual of Marine One swooping in to MED EVAC the president of the United. States to a military hospital then three days later watching this. One swoop back in and take him back to the White House for this cinematic return even though he is infected even though once he climbed all those stairs, you can see him gasping for air you have been in public life for more than twenty years you are on the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. You travel around the world and talk to world leaders in this statesman position that. You're in how do you even explain this to the world if you can well Jonathan I, you know, I, do think it's important that Joe. Biden Joe Biden and the whole Biden campaign team step back they took down attack ads. They publicly expressed their concern, their prayers for the president first. Lady and their health as did I as did most liberal leaders in our country president trump. Does. Get absolutely world class healthcare. He was whisked by Marine One helicopter from the fortress like White House to a dedicated wing at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital. There is a dedicated presidential sort of sweet over there and he was treated with a cocktail of the most cutting edge treatments that your average American doesn't even have access to the combination of the widely used disappear with the. Less, widely used steroid that's commonly applied for those who are in some distress and a new monoclonal antibody treatment that's not yet approved for general use and he comes back saying several days later. Oh I feel better than I've ever felt better than twenty years before there's nothing to be afraid of don't let this virus room in your life. He even said that he thinks he's immune. I mean. He is the world's leading source of. About this pandemic and has inspired imitators from the president of Brazil to things said and done by Putin who declared that he had a effective vaccine before there was any stage three clinical trials, donner results released.
Trump gets experimental drug aimed at curbing severe illness
"Spending his first night in hospital after being diagnosed with covert 19. The White House said that Mr Trump would continue to work using a special accommodation. Sweet. His deputy Mike Pence, will not assume any presidential duties. Well. The U. S presidential election has been thrown disarray following the announcement of the president's positive diagnosis at 74 years of age and also being obese. The president is at higher risk of serious complications from the disease. He's admission to the Walter Reed Military Hospital in Washington, where he'll undergo medical tests has been described as a precautionary measure. In a video on Twitter, the president thank everybody for their support. I want to thank everybody for the tremendous support. I'm going too watery hospital. I think I'm doing very well. But we're going to make sure that things work out. The first lady is doing very well. So thank you very much. I appreciate it. I will never forget. Thank you. In a statement, His doctor said he'd been given rendez severe a drug designed to prevent lung shut down. Mr Trump is currently not needing supplementary oxygen. Well before being airlifted to hospital. President Trump received an experimental drug to attack the virus. It's a synthetic antibody cocktail, which hasn't yet being tested on a large scale manufactured by the biotech firm Re general. Craig Spencer is an E R doctor in New York and raised these questions about the use of the medication. We hope that it works. It seems quite promising. It does seem a little strange. I think that many people, including myself to be trying an experiment, experimental medication on the president, but at the same time You know, we want to make sure of course, that the president is well it's early in his illness, so I don't think it's completely unreasonable. A lot of it would depend on the actual symptoms of president is having The disease course and really confrontation with his physicians to know whether or not this was a Dr Craig Spencer will. The BBC's Peter Bose gave me the latest on the president and his current state of health. We know that the president's Twitter feed is active again. President from tweeting from his hospital at 11 30 in the evening on It was a short, Tootie said Going well, I think thank you to all Love on DH. We've also heard from his doctor in the last few hours with a similar message that the president, he says he's doing very well not requiring any oxygen. But, he says in consultation with the specialists of the hospital, they have decided to initiate severe, which is the anti viral medication that we've heard quite a lot about. Over recent months that shone some promising results in helping patients get over the virus, especially if it's administered during the early stages. He, of course, walked to the helicopter before he was then transported to hospital on part of that, presumably was about sending out a signal to the American people. Clearly it wass. This happened after I think this is significant after the markets had closed in the U. S. I think it has happened before then it would have sent jitters air around the financial Community would already seen that over the previous 24 hours. But yes, I think it was staged Managed. We saw some short footage didn't take very long for president. Want to get into his helicopter. He was talking about a 10 minute ride to the hospital, and we saw him emerge. He walked himself is dressed in his suit. It looked like the president Trump that we're used to seeing on DH. What we've heard since he entered the hospital seems to reflect that that he's doing all right. Although we understand he is Suffering from some of the early stage symptoms. The mild symptoms that we've heard about in relation to many of the people who have suffered from this virus and assuming he stays reasonably well. The plan is for him to continue working while he's in hospital. Yes, He's in a suite on executive suite in the hospital that is designed for situations like this. They've treated presidents in the past. So he has a ll the apparently all the paraphernalia there for a president to operate it in terms of security needs and the communication Needs it. We are told that the possibility is there for him to continue working, and significantly, he is still in control. He is still running the country and the White House has been at pains to point out that the husband in any way Transition of power to Mike Pence. The vice president, which would happen if the president was so sick that he couldn't carry out his duties. In the meantime, off course we are in the middle ofthe on election campaign. Where does that go amidst All this? That's the big question. We've also, interestingly heard in the last few hours. That's the Trump campaign manager. Bill Stepien has positive Testa's wealth that perhaps the most interesting thing that I've learned in the last couple of hours. Is that the complain plans to launch surrogates or stand ins for in person events. In other words, those close to President Trump will be standing in at events. We can only assume that will be similar to some of the rallies that we've seen the president holding in recent weeks, and those people include the vice President, Mike Pence. Donald Trump's sons Don Jr on DH Eric on his daughter in law, Laura P. Pose
Reporter Jeffrey Goldberg Addresses Trump’s “Loser” Remarks, Talks Using Anonymous Sources
"It has been a rough Labor Day weekend and the trump. White House where officials are absolutely full out freaking out about Thursday. Night's report in the Atlantic that trump had characterized Americans who died in war losers and suckers trump has spent the past four days repeatedly nine the story marshalling all kinds of people to. Come forward to knock it down he insisted today the quote an animal would say thing that the White House trotted out figures like Sarah Sanders who we know is lied to reporters multiple times to claim the report isn't true because they were there when trump didn't say the terrible things he allegedly said take they're hoping you don't think about that formulation too much. The main problem for the White House here is that the evidence supporting the story is pretty obvious and clear and almost overwhelming to anyone not inside the trump reality distortion bubble. The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg reported that trump cancelled a visit to an American military cemetery near Paris back in two thousand eighteen partially because he worried his hair would become disheveled in the rain and partially because he did not respect the American war dead interred there. In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the schedule visit trump said, why should I go to that cemetery? It's filled with losers in a separate conversation on the same trip trump preferred to the more than eighteen hundred marines who lost their lives at Bellawood as suckers for getting killed. Now, the sources in the story are anonymous you know anonymous sources are not as. Good. As name sources when you're evaluating something, but it doesn't mean that the claims came in on some anonymous tip line that no one knows where they came from. It means a reporter in this case, Jeffrey Goldberg spoke to people directly interviewed them and has agreed not to identify them in the story Jeffrey. Goldberg, will be here with me to talk about that in just a moment. His initial story has now been confirmed in part or in its entirety by reporters at. All okay. Remarkably a correspondent at Fox News included in that lineup whom trump promptly called on the network to fire. Some of those corroborating stories included even more damning details about the president like this one from the Washington Post quote the president told senior advisors that he didn't understand why the US government plays such value on finding soldiers missing in action because they had performed poorly and gotten caught and deserve what they got and this from the New York Times people familiar Mr Trump's private conversations saying he has long scorned those who served in Vietnam as being too dumb to have gotten out of it as he did through medical diagnosis of bone spurs in his heels. Back in two thousand, nineteen trump's former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen testified the trump admitted to faking those bonds first telling cone quote you think I'm stupid I wasn't going to Vietnam. There's even more evidence that trump view soldiers at stupid or suckers Mary trump the president's knees wrote in a recent book that trump and threatened to disown his eldest son if don Jr. joined the military. She also says that her own Father Fred trump junior was mocked by donald trump because he fred trump junior decided to join the US air. National. Guard quote my father was frequently ridiculed for his career choices and disparaged for serving our country by both his father and by his brother Donald. Then, there's the fact that pretty much none of trump's top military officials past and present are backing the president up. I mean you really can't find anyone who's stepping forward to defend his character save he would never say anything like that they aren't disputing the story instead that's been left talking heads and former flax and loyalists. That's maybe not a huge surprise because trump allegedly said about all US servicemembers, hues very closely to what he said back in two thousand fifteen about one particular veteran Senator John McCain. War here or euro he's a war hero years he's a war hero presumes captured. I like people that weren't captured. Okay I hate to. John. McCain was prisoner of war in Vietnam for five years host. Donald Trump avoided that war had a different experience in an interview in the nineties. He characterized his efforts to avoid transmitted diseases while sleeping with numerous women as quote, my personal Vietnam. An. Event with Union members today Joe Biden lambasted the president's comments an invoked zone Sun Beau who served in Iraq and then died from a brain tumor in two thousand fifteen. Those of served. Risk, their lives even gave their lives, our nation losers suckers. He's our heroes. Tell you something. My Bowl wasn't loser. For A sucker if that's I, talk about our veterans, you have no business being president of the United States of America. What's being entered into the record here to take a step back and look at all the evidence about Donald Trump. Shocking. Morally offensive. It's not surprising. It's about what we have come to expect. But. One big question that keeps pulling on my shoulders. Why are we learning about this now? What does it mean that we are? For more on that and the fallout from his incredible reporting joined by Jeffrey Goldberg He's the Editor in chief of the Atlantic and I jeff, maybe I start a little bit with. The reaction to this story from the White House you. There are stories that come out all the time about the president that are fairly scandalous incredibly scandalous. And one time they said it's fake news and they swatted away or the new cycle moved on, they do seem particularly freaked out. About this reporting. An particularly intent on attacking it what what is your sort of reading of the last three or four days of their reaction? Well he's a good question. First thing I would say is that. This is not an attack on these are not reports of an attack on site immigrants or black people or or something like that we expect from Donald Trump and something that his base might actually help him with his base. This could hurt him with his with his base You know the the the second thing is I. Think there's a lot of. Nervousness in the White House and again I won't I'm not commenting on anything having to do with my sourcing or other reporter's saw sourcing Fox. Washington Post whatever. I'm you know there's a there's a deep hostility and mistrust in the White House of. Current and former generals people who lead the military. We saw that today Donald Trump did something that I. I've never seen before he attacked his own a service chiefs. He attacked his own leaders of the Armed Forces on call? Them. I mean, even in the even in this sort of an Tasma, we are twenty twenty race that's still something but I think it has to do with the fact that This is the kind of accusation that sounds believable in also goes directly to. A core constituency that Donald trump obviously needs to Keep energized come November. Yeah we we should note that there's there's been polling of of active duty servicemembers in which he's he's underwater with them There's been an interesting sort of officer enlisted split, but he's been losing ground even with a enlisted members. He's gone for a net positive nine points and Net net net negative twelve points. You can see that there. That's the latest military times pulling. You just mentioned what he said today was pretty remarkable. Briefly, sort of like channeling kind of like left anti-imperialism vis-a-vis his own service chiefs although it's completely like made up and fabricated because he. In the next breath, he's constantly bragging about how big the Pentagon budget is and how Raytheon is making off like a bandit. So but I wanNA play that clip just to get your response to it take a listen to what he said. I'm not saying that military in love with me to soldiers are the top people in the Pentagon probably aren't because they want to do nothing but fight wars so that all of those wonderful companies that make the bombs and make the planes and everything else they. Happy. But we're getting out of the endless wars you know how we're doing. But here's the thing Jeff. They're not this drives me insane the where we have expanded our footprint, we've expanded bombings all the theaters, and this is an absolute con-. This idea that the Great Antiwar Donald Trump has some revolt on his hands on the generals. As, you will know the generals are usually more hesitant to go to war than not usually often more has to go to war than than civilian leaders for some obvious reasons. No, this was remarkable i. mean he sort of channeling. Start Sixty Bob Dylan lyrics here I pointed out on a show media today it's It's quite remarkable given that tomorrow there's a pretty good chance that he'll brag about how much money he's spending on military hardware, and of course, as you know, he's deeply transactional in love it when when foreign countries by our military equipment. So if you're looking for consistency in that particular clip, you're you're looking forward it in the wrong place it doesn't make sense in any kind of traditional understanding of of politics.
"don jr." Discussed on KCRW
"That easy or is it tough? It's definitely not always easier. There's definitely advantages to what we've got to be spoiled. Hopefully, in all the right ways. I think it's tough because you're tough, but in a good way. He was one of the board room judges and the producers and some of the people who worked on the show are cast members talked about him as being this kind of stabilizing presence on the set, mainly because he was I was willing to run interference between them and his dad. His dad, would you know how these temper tantrums and get angry at people and junior would try toe assuages father and also comfort the people. His father was mad at there was a saying. It's not your fault. It's your turn. So at this point, it sounds like Don Jr is pretty much on the margins of the family business. I mean, if you are running interference with angry employees Of the Apprentice. You're not exactly central to the Trump organization. No, he's a peripheral figure in the Trump organization. He's a peripheral figure. I think in his father's life, and then when his father Decides to run for president. He is very much on the outside. Today. I have the honor of introducing a man who needs no introduction. Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, are the linchpins of the campaign in the early days. They have, you know, really just sweeping influence over all aspects of it. Ladies and gentlemen. My father. Donald J. Trump, But don Jr is given these very discreet Small kind of tasks to do for the campaign, and he's just given these little sort of things that he can't mess up. But just in a mindful that done definitely did one big thing. During the campaign, and he messed that up Very significantly. Yeah. The one area that he showed some initiative and went outside of his lane was in arranging for a meeting between Russian lawyer who said she had damaging information on Hillary Clinton. And campaign officials like Jared Kushner, his brother in law, Paul Manafort, who is in the campaign chairman. He arranged for her to come to trump Tower to turn over the damaging information she had on Hillary Clinton. And this is now known as the meat. The Trump Tower meeting. Yeah, this is the meeting that Eventually will threaten Trump's presidency. But at the time no one knows about the meeting aside from people who were in the meeting, and to them, it was nothing. It was Don Jr brought this woman in saying she was going to give a start on Hillary Clinton and she gave us nothing. And then, when Trump wins Ivanka and Jared, they go to Washington, and they become members of the White House on DH Don and and his brother, Eric, stay in New York, ostensibly to run the Trump organization, their father's president, but In John's case, Don is put in charge of the international side of the Trump Organization. And because of Ah promise that his dad made about not doing foreign deals, he could only work on preexisting deal. They can't do any new deal. So not only is he not involved his father presence, he really isn't anything to do at the Trump organization. He's just kind of left in New York, and everybody forgets about But then breaking in stunning news in our politics lead today the release of an email chain from last June between Donald Trump Jr and this man in the Summer of 2017. The New York Times finds out about the Trump tower meeting from the previous summer,.
Republicans Make Their Case for Trump at RNC
"Convention. Gavaldon from Charlotte, North Carolina this morning, but is NPR's same Greenglass reports primetime events will continue this evening from an auditorium in Washington, D. C. Bipartisan Senate Report Shows 2016 Trump, Russia Collusion
"The news Do. You guys remember when the big question on everyone's mind was did donald trump colluded with Russia during the two thousand sixteen campaign remember it was all anyone talked about and then trump lead one, hundred and seventy thousand Americans die on his watch and we moved onto that. Well, it turns out the US. Senate had not completely forgotten about it and yesterday they dropped a bombshell report. A New Senate report says members of the 2016 trump campaign were eager. To accept help from Russia some of a directed personally by Vladimir Putin the Republican led Senate Intelligence Committee releasing its final report declaring two thousand sixteen trump campaign had repeated contacts with Russian operatives, Paul Manafort? The former trump campaign co-chairman. It goes further than the Muller reports saying he was in close touch with a Russian intelligence officer who became a business partner. It says manafort posed a grave counter intelligence threat. The report says he may even have been connected. To Russia's hacking and leaking Hillary Clinton campaign emails, an operation it says was actually directed by Russian. President. Putin. The three year investigation also found that president trump may have misled special counsel Robert Muller One of the other headlines is that this committee actually made criminal referrals in June of last year in two thousand, nineteen to federal prosecutors on the list of referrals, Steve Bannon Jared Kushner, and Donald Trump Junior. That's right. The Republican led Republican led Senate committee. Referred Steve, Bannon, Jared Kushner, and Don Jr. for criminal charges for lying under oath, and this is good news for Eric. When you the least favorite child, you get left out of all the family traditions, even the criminal ones basically, this Senate investigation found that the trump campaign's contacts, with Russia, during the two thousand, sixteen election posed a threat to national security, and the interesting thing about this report is that it's bipartisan with policies agree on the facts but. Each party came to a different conclusion about whether the facts meant that there was no collusion. And I will say it's always weird to see the same set of facts that are interpreted that differently it kind of reminds me of how two different guys will have different stories about how they fight went down you'll. That guy in the face and he was down on the ground lights out man. So Dude, I told that guy get on my face and then I took a nap on the
Donald Trump Jr.'s girlfriend tests positive for coronavirus
"Pandemic has once again reached trump's inner circle Kimberly guilfoil trump campaign aide and the girlfriend of Donald Trump junior has tested. Tested positive for cove it, but the White House says Don Jr. tested negative and they claim neither has been in direct contact with the president.
Mitt Romney breaks with GOP and votes to remove Trump from office
"You believe that Donald Trump is is unfit to serve as president and should be removed from office. I do believe he should be removed from office. That's the vote that I will take an in just a short while if this means the end of your our political career broad shoulders to be able to to whether personal changes in my in my career political or otherwise. But what I don't have is the capacity to ignore my conscience the first time in American history sitting. US Senator voted to convict and remove president of his own party. Republican Senator Mitt Romney Utah Shocked. I gotta say just about everyone me as much as anyone without announcement and vote today before he did that before he decided trump was guilty of abuse the power given interviews the Atlantic's McKay coppins talking about his rationale. He said that this is the last place he wanted to find himself quote. I did not want to get here. In fact. He said that heard the reason he wanted. Former national security adviser John Bolton to testify about what president trump had told him was quote. I had the hope that Bolton would be able to say something it's to create reasonable doubt so I wouldn't have to vote to convict to talk more about Senator Romney's vote to android with a guy who got that big interview. McKay coppins staffer of the Atlantic and Neil Cacho former acting solicitor. Sir General in the Obama Administration who co-authored an opinion piece in the Times today titled This will come back to haunt trump and his enablers. Kayla me start with you a remarkable ccable moment in politics often. We don't surprise us because it's like well everyone's GonNa just do. What the partisan incense here? What was your sense of talking to him about what this meant and how he got there you know? I have to say that when I was told by his office that he was willing to talk to me yesterday and that he would reveal his vote. I went there with the assumption that he would probably be telling me he was gonNA vote to acquit. That wasn't to say I was. I wasn't open to the possibility. Maybe I think I actually said on your show last fall that I thought of all the Republican senators. Romney was the biggest threat to vote to convict. But you know I watched this kind of wrathful. Aw response from the right over. The last few months directed at him and I kind of expected him to be cowed and have like a bunch of excuses for why he had decided to to vote to acquit instead. He was very kind of almost indignant about what he saw as the president's misconduct he was dismayed by by his party. Ready and what. What's become of it and you know one thing that was remarkable to me was the degree to which he was talking about? Very personal issues of conscience and faith faith morality. He told me you know. I'm a fellow Mormon. And he was talking. He was quoting scripture to me quoting from hymns kind of talking about how he had he had had to pray eight for wisdom throughout this ordeal and so this really was something that was very personal for him and something seemed really committed to kneel. You wrote today about History history haunting the Republican senators or even in the near term being haunted by this. But what do you mean by that. Why do you think that's the case as opposed to it being consigned the memory hole like so so much that happens in our in our political world? Yeah I think that the GOP is now like the grand old cover party. And I think there's kind of three structural girl features that if I were publican outside of Romney I'd be really worried about number one. Is that seventy five percent of Americans wanted witnesses and seventy five percent of Americans. I think the president. That's something wrong in Ukraine. And that's even though we're so bitterly divided as a country so many Americans share that same core belief. The second is is the Democratic Party which has been told from the start impeachments assure loser the president keeps saying it and the like and they did it anyway. They did it despite the cost. Because has like Senator Romney they thought it was the right thing and third underappreciated and this is also the role of The folks in the Federal Government People like Dr Dr Fiona Hill and colonel of inman and the brave whistle blower all of whom came forward to say. Hey this is a real problem those three things together. So let's say to me if the president continues doing this stuff. He's going to face those three problems again. And then there's one other thing which is a consequence of the president's own legal arguments he said it to the Senate to things he said number one that there weren't any first-hand witnesses and the house should have gotten them and number two he said. Let the voters decide in November. Those two things together say the House tomorrow should be subpoenaing Bolton and gone launching a full-scale investigation. And that's what the president's President's own lawyers said should be done and so yeah. I'd be really worried if I'm the president I'd be worried about every senator who enabled this cover up McKay Don Jr. in Europe somewhat predictably tweeting about how Mitt Romney should be expelled from the GOP that he's now officially a member of the resistance and should be expelled and then of course Romney's niece Ronna Romney mcdaniel. Who is the chair of the? GOP said this is not the first time I disagree with Mitt. I imagine not be the last. The bottom line is president trump. Did nothing wrong. Republican Party's ladies more united than ever behind him. I got to imagine everyone's GonNa Watch the predictable kind of nuclear reaction that they will get from from from trump and the Republican party on this well. That's that's the whole point that's the strategy and that's been the strategy from day one that Donald trump goes after Mitt Romney when he steps out of line not because he he thinks he's going to be able to intimidate Mitt Romney necessarily because he's sending a message to all the other Republicans who might consider stepping out of line. I will say that you know when I was talking to Romney. He was bracing for this political backlash yesterday and he said Look. I know this is going to be really bad. I know that the vast majority of my party is lined up behind trump. He told me when he he's in airports. Every walk down the street random people will shout things at him in call him a traitor. Tell him he ought to be ashamed of himself and that was before he took this vote. So you know the the backlash is going to be by kind kind of deliberately. A spectacle to try to make an example out of Mitt Romney and I think that's part of the reason that Romney it'll be interesting to continue to watch him both both how he reacts to that and and how he kind of weather is that because while I do think there's GonNa be a lot of anger from the White House presidents allies the grassroots. I'm not actually sure that his Republican colleagues in the Senate are going to be quite as vicious and and you know Romney wants to show that you can do this. You can take this so you can stand up to trump and continue to resist. Do Your job. The president also of course tweeting a as I said earlier kind of nonsensical video targeting Romney I also I also wonder Neil and this is sort of different calculation but but but folks in the civil service I mean this seems to be key so many of them wrist stuck their neck out to go to go testify. We we know that there were people in the administration some political mostly civil servants. who were saying this is wrong? This is wrong. We shouldn't be doing this and I wonder what today means for them as well. In terms of restraining the president going forward so two things I just with respect to the conversation you were just having it so striking to me that this is the same person who evidently said something according to CBS opponents head is going to put on a pike and that led all the Republican senators to freak out when representative Schiff made that argument. But now that's exactly what's Howard's to Romney. We don't hear any of the any of that back and then with respect to the federal bureaucracy. I think you're absolutely right. You could take two different lessons from at one is it. Didn't work but I think the lesson that dead there is being taken in America. I'm starting to hear it from people in the federal government including when people who've seen some bad stuff and haven't come forward yet is the truth has got to come out. If the truth keeps coming out then the president is going to be stymied and all of the horrible things that he's trying to do and so I think this is going to be a lesson that's going to empower future whistleblowers. It's not going to hold them back And I certainly encouraged anyone with information to come forward McKay coppins and Neil Cacho. Thanks Janet from raking time tonight.

"The Democrats are saying we want more, you know, it was going to be like we want the Mullery. Now, they say Muller, no soda all over. Again. It is a disgrace. We had a focus on infrastructure. We have to focus on lowering medical prices and medicine. Always is not military vets done. The border. I know he got to that too. But also that that'd be good. And more on the whole, Don, jR, thing a little bit later where does that go? Would you be a little afraid of your done junior right now? Oh with these guys know if you've already gotten if you've gotten through the Muller report, I don't know really what the Senate is going to find what they can do to you that Bob Muller, and well pretty much all the resources of the Justice department didn't go after you four. Yeah. I guess there was just always this feeling with Don, jR, specifically that if someone was going to be in trouble he'd be the one he injured gravy, Jared, but more Don jR, so we'll see where all of that goes. Meanwhile, we mentioned this yesterday because it was the big bombshell from the failing New York Times, quote, unquote, bombshell. She's that the biggest loser financially the eighties into the nineties was Donald Trump. Yeah. Over a billion dollars in losses. They lost a lot of money between nineteen eighty five and nineteen Ninety-four. They found this out based on tax documents. They got it's been pointed out now, though that the New York Times was scooped by Donald Trump himself because we we keep talking about it like, it's not all. That surprising. We talked about the day before the failing New York Times Article No joke and Donald Trump scoop to the New York Times on the very first episode in the very first two minutes of the very first episode of the apprentice, it was literally in the opening of the show where he talks about this Donald.

The Trump Tower meeting with Don, jR, the don't forget this in June of twenty sixteen that that that meeting right? The with the at Trump Tower with Don jR, with those Russians what exactly is in the special counsel report about that. We know those two Russians were connected one of them diffusion GPS and one of them to the Hillary team. What exactly was uncovered there? But this is important the Trump team meeting with these Russians. There was no evidence of conspiracy to violate the law. That's a quote by by Bill bar in the press conference. None remember, ladies and gentlemen, meeting with Russians is not illegal. Why would these Russians connected the Hillary Clinton's team? Why why would they connected the fusion GPS hired by Hillary Clinton? One of the Russian intelligence connected guys. It shows up admits he knows people on the Clinton staff and his lawyer is the spouse of Bill Clinton one of one of his high up dip on one of his higher up diplomats ridiculous. Okay. This is where it gets interesting. So FaceTime my open up. There you go. I'm working with like a an operation here. This is a is a hotel room operation here. But I wanna miss the show today the special counsel, this is where it gets fascinating bar at one point talks about some legal theories the special counsel hat on obstruction. Ladies and gentlemen. I have absolutely no doubt. What bars talking about here bar is talking about hack attorney, Andy Weissman. Bob Muller's pit bull. His lead investigator. He is undoubtedly talking about Andy Weissman and his unique legal theories. Andy Weisman's unique legal theories have gotten him into a world of trouble in the past Andrew Weissmann, Muller's right hand guy. Ladies and gentlemen. Don't forget. I think he was legitimately flabbergasted. I think partly he was he was mesmerized by the media coverage, you know, which which was absurd CIA guys. Get mesmerized by media coverage. Unfortunately. Yeah. I don't think he's very bright. Which is what Trump has said. That's. When when people make a huge deal out of out of a meeting with Don, jR, set a setup he didn't know what it was really about. I'm telling you what I was in the Washington Post during the Watergate years, we would not have run that story. That was not a story. It would have been considered unfair to run a story about nothing. And yet you hear that over and over again, Adam Schefter and others repeating oh he had a meeting. He had a meeting. It's it's just unbelievable was put together by a promoter in London who had a singer whose representing in Russia who said this. She's going to be downtown. One. Can she come by? She has information so run in the big picture. You believe the president is on the right path to having a very successful presidency. And maybe two terms why? In my book, the Trump White House that he will be seen as one of the greatest presidents based on results. The results are so so clear, and of course, we all cringe sometimes it's of comments, but that is part of his stick as his way to get attention to empower himself to the to to make everyone want to follow his every movement has every word. Norm. Reporter who was his top aide for twenty six years. And she said there are two Donald Trump's one is the one that we know behind the scenes who's very thoughtful who listeners who asked many opinions, and then as the other Donald who makes these outrageous comments on TV to get attention for his brand. And now for his president will say, I think that really sums up Donald Trump. And more and more over the years. People are going to start to appreciate what he's done for this country, and some of the some of the claims are so obviously absurd such as that he's a racist. Guess what he dated for two years before he met Malania Kerry young who is a black model, and he also insisted that blacks we picked up in your book round up against a hard break. Ryan kesler..

"You know, what we've seen a ready is that the Russians were reaching deep into this political campaign at low levels, like George popadopoulos, the so-called coffee boy and higher levels through you know, may possibly through Paul Manafort, but and through the NRA at multiple levels Russians are trying to get in Don, jR, famously at least showed a willingness to collude. So you know, what I want to stress is that you know, we're all breathlessly waiting for this report. But we shouldn't disregard what we already know about Trump in about Russia that was going to say, I mean, the documents of the past two years have delivered a lot of information. I mean, are you expecting any surprises? This point. Well, I'm I'm most interested in seeing what he had to say about who had declined to prosecute. You know, who is on that list of the declarations, and what are the reasons for the declamations as Don jR on that list as Donald Trump on this that list? That's that's the questions. I want to see answered. And ultimately, the big question is whether the president committed any crimes will that be answered do you think well, you know, it may be I hope it will. I think he's going to have to he's going to have to explain why he was at the very least while he was trying to interview the president. And you know, what it's the respond. The ball is now in Congress's hands that if there was there was evidence that wasn't sufficient to prosecute. But there was evidence that. That Trump did have some, you know, some strange dealings with the Russians that congress should it should have to take that ball. And now run with it and take it where wherever it leads. Well, safe to say a lot of people are having awkward conversation about a report that nobody's seen yet. Well, one person saying can we just get a little bit philosophical because for Yussef the the Russia. Trump timeline goes back not to twenty sixteen but to nineteen hundred nine in New York City, we've just got like half a minute here is it's the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning. I think it's the end. It's the end of a long relationship that began in the nineteen eighties and just to deepen developed over time and began as a apartment sales moved into development deals for some of Trump's buildings and then moved into his political campaign. So I see it as a long arc that is bending possibly towards Donald Trump's impeachment. We'll have to see said patina investigative reporter and author of Trump Russia. Thank you very much. Thank you. Mark is an hour. Long ipad training session enough for airline pilots to understand a complex software system. That's one of the questions being asked in the wake of two deadly crashes involving Boeing seven thirty-seven max, eight planes that system is called 'em. And it's under scrutiny by investigators. David Learmont is a former pilot and aviation journalists in the UK. He says there are virtually no differences in the way pilots are trained in the UK and the US, but that after the first of this two crashes involving a lion air flight in. Indonesia? There was a push in the US to review the seven thirty seven manual, the US aviation will does is like a very big family. And and they told to each other. And when suspicion started coming out of the investigation, the American pilot started going back to the flight crew operations manual unlocking for what might have gone wrong, the FAA. So wait a minute. You're saying that you're saying that some American pilots were not aware of this M cast system..

But at least it's legal legal, totally legal. Yes. Yeah. So it's odd. I it sounds like they just didn't do a CPA on this thing. You know? Yeah. They're committing fraud. Right. Yes. And it just it. It's very very odd to see in the kids in the social media. My god. I mean, they they're clueless. They're they're basically throwing their parents under the bus and not even recognizing it. It's just it's kind of sad that, you know, the, even if you do it the right way, you can buy your way into anything. And I think it just sends the wrong message to the kids, you know, just. And and I don't think the reason why Macey is left out of this. As maybe they just started figured he was shameless. I. Going to be a lot of those. Yeah. It's a valid point. I. The think about this. Okay. So a guy in somewhere in California. Pays almost seven hundred thousand dollars and works really really hard at paying off people. He get his kid. The fake his way onto the tennis team to get into UT. Yeah. She's great Salem college at all. But it's probably not worth going to go to Texas State spending year there go to Austin community college spend, their make good grades. And you know, what if I bet went to Texas State he'd say Jesus got a lot of pretty girls here. There's river there's thirty miles from Austin, hire someone and say, listen, I want you to find me I'm gonna give you a list of twenty schools by one that will take my money. Let my kid in. Yeah. You can still sooner or later money. Okay. I'm going to donate money. I want my kid to SMU. We'll take your boss SMU says he's gonna get a plaque. And you're gonna have a parking lot perfect. He's in it slimy. It's what Trump did it's above board, though, least dad's not going to press the thing about Jared Kushner's deal. Jared Kushner's dad gave money to Harvard, and there's a lot. There was a lot of blowback from the school where Jared Kushner went to school because several kids on the run on the cusp of getting in Harvard who were academically more superior than low. Jared course, they didn't they didn't get in. And Jared got in that raised eyebrows. And dad ended up going to prison for other reasons. Yeah. Tax fraud with. Yeah. Betty, but even you know, for instance, Trump's donation, for example. That's that's deductible. These people were making up shell nonprofits and taking the deduction again idiot, Eric, greedy and ideology, you will find a nonprofit will you could get the deduction you will find a school that for a million dollars. You're going to get some kind of deduction just do it above board of a voting wentzel forced to create a fake nonprofit fake on your tax returns. And you falsify picture you falsify documents people took the test for you. Go that far. You didn't have. I don't think. So I think the Trump story proves it. Yeah. Well, the Laurie Laughlin cheese in Hollywood, she's high profile. She knows people you pick up a phone you pick up a phone and say, hey, we'll get five hundred thousand dollars to the film deal in in. So and so's name. Right. And they say, hey, but USC may not take it. But somebody eventually will might take a little, you know, a couple of hours of work, but they've already put in a ton of work to cheat. They put in so much work to commit crime. It's laughable. West you're on kale BJ. Hey, guys. How y'all doing today? Good. Great. All these got that thing where you put a quarter in the car, and then you come back and put your card back quarterback. Maybe we should do that kind of a thing in the second year, we acknowledge we all have and that way. The people down into arch have something to do. Then you'll make a dollar every time you turn a card or tutored interesting. I was also listening. You guys talking about the UT thing and everything. What about kids that are currently in school that went through all a scam and get in are they being kicked out of school. Well, we only know of one one kid so far that knew about it. And the only reason why everybody knows about her is this is to your point. This is really kind of crazy. She's at Georgetown, really good private school in DC in a great area of town. Her dad was one who was head of a hedgehog. He's already resigned he paid a million five. She bragged online that she never took the SAT. And so they've caught her. But the school has it says as of this afternoon has yet to decide if she should be kicked out. I'm thinking, I don't know why that's taking more than five. I would wonder though, if she has succeeded in school after she got it back. You gotta kick her out. Yeah. You're right. Kerr out immediately. If I'm the president at university, you know, what's going to be at my door. If I don't kick out everybody else that goes into and says, are you kidding me? I busted my butt to take the ACT. And that's the right was making jokes about now. What about kids who graduated last semester? Even I mean are they getting revolt? Well, so far. Yeah. I don't know. I don't so far the only reports of anybody knowing even that kid here who may still be UT for all. We know. I don't think he's here anymore today. We don't know we don't know other this one or two of them. We don't know of anybody else who knew that their parents had paid everybody off Jeff Ward and egged Clements. Afternoons three to seven.

He made a comment to a Philadelphia radio station in two thousand sixteen that if his father lied, like Hillary Clinton, the media would be warming up the gas chamber he compared Syrian refugees to skittles candy. He compared immigrants to zoo animals does he take it too far. Sometimes or does anybody in the White House believed that he's taking it too far? Well, he certainly blurs the line of too far. You know, he's not somebody who sticks to a script. He's not out there like a vodka Trump reading from very carefully. Prepared remarks China hit just the right balance. Don, jR, as much more spontaneous. He likes to excite his crowds and to do. So he says things that are off color offensive somewhat say even racist at times. And you know, I think he feels like that makes him a fantastic. Now, if you talk to folks in the White House, they say that Don, jR, is a very effective political surrogate for the president he's somebody who is a celebrity figure within the Trump base, and they can send him out on the road to rallies, and he can whip up a crowd and create some energy and excitement. There does not seem to be, you know, a lot of negative feelings about him when he gets into hot water like this, you know, other than a little bit of an eye rolling here or there. But you know, he's he's also not a part of the governor. He's not somebody who's tasked to sort of carry a message politically in Washington, or or, you know, push for legislation to pass, for example, or do some of the kind of work that his sister Avante cadets, and yet he may be called before congress to testify now as the House Democrats ramp up their investigations, let's look at that part of it. He was mentioned in Michael Cohen's testimony last week. He was at that infamous 2016 Trump Tower meeting with the Russian lawyer promising dirt on Hillary Clinton x Ray and Cohen suggested that Trump junior may have told his father about the meeting before it happened. Let's listen. And I recall, Don, jR, leave leaning over to his father and speaking in a low voice, which I could clearly here and saying the meeting is all set, and I remember Mr. Trump saying, okay, good. Let me know what are the legal issues right now with that meeting. And how does Donald Trump junior factor in? Well, Trump junior is exposed in that meeting he set up the meeting he did. So according to the Email documents that that he shared publicly that we've all now seen he did. So with the knowledge that this lawyer was providing information on behalf of Russia, and it was part of the Russian government's attempt to help. His father's campaign that is not legal not legal for anyone associated with an American political campaign to be conspiring with people from a foreign country. Now, whether Robert Muller breaks up a Bill of goods against on junior. In his report is to be determined. We know that Don, jR, has not been indicted as part of that investigation. But, you know, clearly, there's some exposure there and the thing that's happening simultaneously as congress is trying to dig in and not just by the way about the Russian interference question. But there was a request from Jerry Nadler, the chairman of the House Judiciary committee this week for documentation regarding Don genius communications with his father with the president on any number of topics. Now, I don't know that that requests will be fulfilled by the White House in part because Don jR, is a family member. He's not a White House employees his communication with the president may not necessarily even be something that the White House has access to let alone decides is, you know, within certain legal justification for for the congress to review that's all to be determined. But but clearly the eldest son of the president is in some jeopardy here and. There is a suggestion by Democrats that he actually lied to congress when he testified in two thousand seventeen about that x Ray meeting that x correct. And I think that's one of the reasons why Nadler's committee wants more evidence pertaining to Don jR, and very well may may request that he come forward and testify. You know, I don't I don't think Don, jR, has testified for the last time before the congress. What do you make of the fact Philip Rucker that when you look at the Twitter feeds of Don jR, and Eric Trump that they're quite different that Don, jR is much. More of a pit bull for President Trump, and Eric Trump tweets a lot about the Trump organization and other. He does put our political tweets, but not nearly to the same degree. It's a really keen observation there. Don, jR, is much more comfortable clearly in a public political role. He likes being in the fray, Eric Trump actually spends most of his time running the Trump, Oregon. Innovation in particular, the golf courses which has been sort of his portfolio is part of the family company for some time. But you know, Don does politics as an extracurricular, whereas Eric Trump, we very rarely see him in a political context. He does interviews from time to time on Fox News. He will, you know, sometimes appear at the White House for a special event very occasionally at a rally, but it's really dimes space to be in politics. That is Philip recor White House bureau chief.

And who's next my money is Don jR, and Jared Kushner are our next in line to get the knock on the door for Muller, whether it be early in the morning or from his lawyer saying I just spoke with them you guys need to come with us three two three five three eight twenty four twenty three at Chadbensonshow is your Twitter. Oregon's trying to do something with parents and newborns and smells a little fishy. Chad Benson show. You know, it's not smart.
"don jr." Discussed on Gaslit Nation with Andrea Chalupa and Sarah Kendzior
"Well, what a what about Ivanka Trump and Don jR, and Jared Kushner, but namely, Don, jR, Ivanka Trump these two were compromised. Just like Michael Flynn was Yvonne was all about creating the spa the avuncular Trump spa inside the Moscow Trump Tower. She knew about this. So the entire time in two thousand sixteen vodka Trump was going around smiling for everyone and waving and people were claiming that Vonk Trump was gonna be the moderating force. And that oh, wow. Did you did you not love the democratic speech? She gave at the Republican convention when everyone was giving vodka Trump far too much credit and putting far too much faith in her the entire time. When her father was getting pressed about his connections to Russia and denying that he had any business deals with Russia. Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump knows damn well that she has a spa with her name on it in the Moscow Trump Tower should that deal go through so you've vaunted Trump herself was compromised on junior said a big portion of our money's coming from Russia. He's going the kids are going on trips to Russia that is one way the Kremlin hooks. You is they rope in your children, and we know that they harass the target the family members of dissidents and opposition leaders. They did that to the Russian oligarch cocoa ski they they went after his father Kodeco ski, of course, being the one that dared to run for president. Putin. And he ended up getting his entire fortune liquidated and thrown into prison. They did that to Alex novelty who's now when the most viable opposition leaders against Putin and inspiring all those kids to go out onto the street and produce corruption they arrested his brother, so they liked to target family members. And the also liked to rope in family members of crept leaders to compromise them. So they have leveraged on the father in this case, Trump, whoever the parent is who's empower suggest like Michael Flynn. Don, jR, any Vonk our Justice Turkey and just as compromised and their dirtiness there. Corruption is the compromise that the Kremlin had on Trump during the sixteen campaign just some of that compromise. And it's also something that the FBI I don't know how they could have not been aware of it. Because the person who accompanied Ivanka Trump to Russia in Don, jR, was feel Acceder who was a Russian mafia operative who sometimes worked as an FBI informant. It's unclear at this point. What exactly his role is now whether he's cooperating with the investigation, whether he still just an active mobster who knew in does anything about because we have quite a few of those. He's a childhood friend of Michael Cohen both of them were basically brought up in the Russian mob and the Email each other in two thousand fifteen about their plan to install Donald Trump as president of the United States, and they were very proud of this plan. But one of the things that feel exceed or row in the Email discussion of the trip that he took with vonda, Don, jR, in two thousand six where he says I arranged for Vonk oh to sit in Putin's private chair at his desk and office in the Kremlin. And then they go on and they discuss these real estate deals that they wanna do and making sure that they arrange things for Trump's candidacy like how in the world with the FBI not have that on their radar. When this guy is literally their informant. You know, he's their guy and. In the midst of Trump doing things in twenty sixteen for example, like asking Russia to give him Hillary Clinton's emails and saying that the media will reward him like how could that not have run a bell? That's one of the reasons that I'm so suspicious. And then you know, that brings us to the present day where we know that they know that he's a Russian asset. And they certainly know that he's ill-equipped in many many ways to be president, you know, mentally in terms of his criminal ties exploitation of the office, which he went onto through all the things we listed last episode terms of things that Mira impeachment mullets violations, obstruction of Justice high crimes and misdemeanors. Why are they not acting with any kind of urgency because what you have is a president who is an asset for a hostile state who's working to stack the courts rewrite the laws and now shut down the government..
