"Tweets already buster bleacher tweets for a Wednesday, Cory rue Kurt writes in as a reds fan, our great hope is that when a box is at Eli, dela Cruz, I'm guessing ally. Is the next tatis trout, et cetera how good is he and what's an MLB comparison for him? So I reached out to a long time evaluator Corey to get an opinion on this because I have not seen him play on a regular basis and what I got back was O'Neill Cruz of the pirates because of that great speed and power combo that dela Cruz has is an infielder. The comp that I saw when I looked at his minor league numbers, they reminded me a lot of someone used a reds fans remember in that Eric Davis. Now Eric Davis was an outfielder. He was infielder, but he was the guy, you know, 30, 30, that type of player. And that's probably the level of excitement. I think within baseball about what his potential is. He's going to be a great player. BK cubs fan writes in with the pitch clock do you foresee an increase in complete games this year, shorter games means less time and effort to get through 9 innings pitched. Yes, I do. I think we're going to see some games where it's just like this momentum where a starting pitcher is going to just get on a roll. And the hitters are going to be on the defensive. I think you're going to see it in day games after night games, where it's going to feel like the first three innings take about 20 minutes. And suddenly you're going to look up and the starting pitchers are only going to have 30 pitches. He's going to have a chance to have a complete game. PK Steinberg with a little bit of snark here. He writes in MLB got rid of pitchers throwing four balls for an intentional walk. Should they cease having players running the bases on over the fence home runs to speed up the game and all? I don't think PK likes the rule changes. This next question, Sarah Abbott needs to ask you buster 'cause she has some questions of her own. Go ahead, Sarah. Okay, so this question comes from Z at iron rooster FF. Tired of seeing players hit above the shoulders, make the ball easier to handle or allow us to key stuff thoughts. My question is, is sticky stuff just sunscreen rosid because is that really that big of a deal? Sticky stuff? Yes. Absolutely. It's a huge deal. And in fact, and I'm just this is total speculation on my part based on watching games. I'm seeing pictures illegally load up the ball in their hands in a way that I did not see a year ago. I'm seeing that constantly. And I don't know if, you know, Major League Baseball is like, look, you know, the pitch clock is the priority. That's what we're going to focus on. We're not going to worry about sticky stuff, but man, I'm seeing a lot of guys load up. And it does, and you can tell that Sarah by the spin rates. It's a big deal. And they can control the ball better, they're clearly or pictures that benefited from it. You know, in answering my answer to this question is two things. The bulk pitcher still say the balls are slick, which is mind boggling. We landed someone on the moon, 60 years ago, and we can't get a baseball for Major League Baseball. And the other thing, too, is that the way pitchers train at a young age, they don't get as many innings in the minor leagues. Their command is not as good in the focus is throw the ball as absolutely as hard as you can. And so I think mistakes are made in a way that maybe they didn't. One guy's throwing 89 or 90 mph. I don't think that those that pitchers have the kind of command they used to. Are you satisfied, Sarah? I am. My next question though, what specifically is sticky stuff? Is it sunscreen rosin or is it other spider tech? Spider tech. Right. Or some sort of homemade substance. We've read about pitchers using that as well. And they put it on their hands. And I'm telling you, I'm seeing a lot of it. And all you have to do is watch out pictures what they do with their pitching hand in between pitches. I've seen so many going to that spot below their gloved hand. And I've asked questions about it and I'm curious to see if at some point Major League Baseball says, look, we got to crack down on this. All right, Sarah, pulling some nuggets out of your buster. I'm producing right there. Let's go to Don Irvine, Don writes, and I'm going to a ten spring training for the first time in my life with my adult son. It's only taken me a little over 50 years of baseball fandom for this to happen. What cactus league games team stadiums should we see between March 20th and 23rd without looking at the calendar buster? What are your favorite places to catch a game in the cactus league? Yeah, Arizona Diamondbacks home park is great, but I actually think it's hard to find a bad spring training site in Arizona. I mean, it's really easy to get around, there's no more than an hour drive separating all the ballparks. And a lot of them are relatively new and really nice. They built the complex and Peoria for the Padres and Mariners in my last year covering the Padres. I love that place. Sarah Gillespie at a typical faith rates and dear bleacher tweeters, bleacher tweets, I feel worried that the pitch clock is taking the poetry at a baseball, does everything in our culture have to be optimized and efficient. Aren't we losing something intrinsically good about the game? Yes, Sarah, I wish this could happen without the clock, but this is the result of 40 years of players slowing down in between pitches. Pitchers slowing down in between pitches. If you go back and watch a replay of a game from the 1970s, it just goes faster because the pitchers get on the mound and hit her step back in the box. That, that's at the root of all this, and if those little habits, you know, you know, I had players say to me through the years, well, that's how I get ready for a pitch. That's how I get ready for my plate of parents. If that sort of culture hadn't developed, we wouldn't be in this spot. And I would say this in all those years where you didn't have a pitch clock for 70, 80 years you had great moments, right? You had the poetry and baseball and the players are moving faster.

"First baseman, but all the cliches applied play the game the right way. He was just someone that guys gravitated towards, they still do now as a coach. He just has that there's no way to put a value on it. And Randy Galloway decided that he was the guy that was, you know, worthy of it. I'm cool with it. I like it. I think it's really, I think it's neat because sometimes the whole thing gets a little part away with itself and oh really? Oh, really? Yeah, it's so funny. You mentioned that about Mike Napoli, this is a 100% true story. Had a 5 minute conversation yesterday with Tommy Edmund about Mike Napoli and how great a base runner he was because we were talking about base running efficiency and the Cardinals last year and I brought out Napoli as an example of a guy who you look at and go, that guy can't run and he was one of the best base runners of his time. It's funny that when you talk to the group in 2013, you don't think of him as a speed guy, but like he was their best base runner. No doubt, a 100%. All right, boog. Good to talk with you. My son will love your answers and unfortunately, you know, I got to listen to you all year. I miss you, buddy. It's good to see your face. Bleacher tweets already buster bleacher tweets for a Wednesday, Elizabeth Hart at E Hart tweets, writes in if a hitter strikes out as a result of a pitch clock violation. Well, that count as a strikeout for the pitcher. What if Clayton Kershaw's 3000th career strikeout came as a result of a pitch clock violation without him even throwing a pitch? Yep, I double checked on this I had 99.9% sure that this was the case that what you laid out it does count as a strikeout and it confirmed with some of the Major League Baseball. So that scenario that you just laid out that could happen. Don Irvine at Don Irvine writes in wealthy pitch clock become a deciding factor in some games this year and become baseball's version of a buzzer beater. Yes, it will be a factor and I think especially early in the year, there will be games decided on a pitch clock violation, but I think you're going to see much, much, much less of that by the time you get to August in September and October, when the players get used to it. Jack Fulham at J full 33 Australian Major League Baseball fan here in 2014, MLB brought an opening week series to Australia. Do you think there is any chance this could happen again, would love to see it. Yeah, I'd love to see it too. I will tell you that a lot of players I spoke with who made that trip afterward complained about the jet lag and how it felt like they needed two or three weeks to recover from that and to get back to normal the sleep patterns and the player association has to approve those things. So I'm curious to see if it could happen anytime in the near future. I think some perspectives would have to change. Teddy Wilson at report by Wilson writes in is baseball party of your family's lore or what are your earliest baseball memories, he writes, I was born in Houston during game one of the 1980 NLCS, my dad, sorry is my dad and doctor ran back and forth between the delivery room and waiting room to watch the game. Yeah, so to be clear, there's no family lore with sports because all of my siblings, my parents don't like sports. You know, I mentioned this before. One of my siblings has a television, okay? None of them pay attention to it at all. The closest that I can come to family lore was the 78 playoff game between the Red Sox and Yankees, game one 63 in Fenway Park. My mom agreed that I could skip school that day. So I didn't miss the beginning of the game. And then in the second inning, my stepdad yelled in from outside that the cows had broken loose. And so I had to run and I was like, weepy, you know, 14 years old, and I'm crying, angry at the world because my cows got out, Debbie, who was our primary fence breaker, she got the cows out and into the hunger first pasture, and it took me about three innings to bring them back. The Red Sox still held a tool lead at that time. That was probably the closest thing to what you're looking for. A vintage buster only story right there. Last one for today. Armbar and creep at hillel, New York Yankees, rights, and especially as a data analyst, I can not understand how analytically driven teams still have spring training position and roster battles because one, the sample size is too small and two, most of their opponents aren't major league players. How can you explain this? Well, generally speaking, as spring training begins, there's a belief that yeah, you know what? The team is pretty much set because of what you're talking about. You know, the decisions are based on what they saw in the larger sample, the previous year, maybe the Arizona fall league. But they also are smart enough to understand people change. Players change. You know, if a guy is projected to be in your roster and he shows up 30 pounds overweight, which is happened, that can change some of the roster projections and maybe they take the small sample size more seriously. And then I've heard situations heard of situations where players come in and they've developed a pitch, right? They just look different. There's a different feel to the player. You know, Clark Schmidt, who pitches for the Yankees this year is coming with a cut fastball. He's a great early in camp, and I don't think the Yankees, you know, we're looking at him is necessarily being a guy at the front of anything that they're planning, but you can make an impression spring training. You can change minds in spring training. Already, that's it for bleacher tweets, hashtag bleacher tweets on Twitter, we will be back on Friday.

"Say, you know, I sort of waded into this yesterday and I was completely surprised by the reaction because I think it's just a fun conversation. And I'm kind of sick. I don't know about you, Taylor. I'm sick of all the complaining while they had days off. Am I feeling this? Well, you know what? Just to bypass that whole thing about whether or not the number one seeds are put a disadvantage. Give them a choice. Tell them one and two CT. You get a choice. You want to play the first round, wild card round, or do you want to buy? And we know what the choice would be. Every single team would say, no, we'll take the days off. Of course. We take the buy because he reduced by one. The opportunity to get knocked out of the postseason. You rest your guys. You get to line up your pitching. That's not even close. And then I also suggested if you wanted to stack up more of an advantage for the higher seeds, you could, and I actually think this would be a fun show and it would lead to a lot of conversation debate, maybe some rivalry. If you let the high seats pick their path, in other words, say, you know what, out of the four remaining teams after the one and two seed, here are the two teams I won in our bracket and require the general manager of the number one C to do that. I think that would be a blast. Oh yeah. But anyway, it got killed on social media yesterday and people, not only was it like people disagree, but like angry and you're like, okay, cheese. Don't bomb out in the first round of the playoffs. Just don't do it. And I wasn't trying to make an excuse for the Dodgers of the braves, but I just got so tired of the whole thing about days off, you know? It's unbelievable. And if you gave those teams a choice and there wouldn't be any of that. It would just bypass it. And just put that in there. Like give the option to the one and two seeds, they'll rubber stamp the decision that they're going to get the first few days off. And then nobody will complain. They want to line up their pitching. That's what's most important. What are people talking about? I don't understand. Oh my God, Dave Roberts. He would not trade those days off again, I don't think. No one would. No person in the right mind. In an Arab dominated by analytics, somebody's going to say, yeah, we'll take one more opportunity for us to get knocked out of the postseason. Rather than simply advance to the next round. And also, I don't know, people are losing their minds over this. This is the first year. I think if your objectively watching this, the playoffs have been a lot of fun. So the only complaints are really getting are from braves mets and Dodgers fans. Just whining, honestly, that's how I feel about it. The bitter boulevard, right? Traffic jam on bitter boulevard right now. A lot of people on the roads, let's go to the last one for today, Don Irvine, our friend writes and what kind of contract is Carlos Correa looking for and what is he likely to get? I think it's going to be somewhere in the two 75 to 300 range. And it's going to be a ten year contract. Knowing Carlos, so he's competitive guys. He's probably going to be looking at top Lindor's deal, which is $341 million. Maybe he convinced his team to do that. Maybe there's going to be enough pressure on the Yankees if judge leaves. For them to jump into the Correa conversations, my guess is that's not going to be the case, this young shortstop coming up. Anthony boby that they have a lot of faith in, but in the end, I think I'm going to be surprised by how high the Correa deal is. All righty, that does it for bleacher tweets, hashtag bleacher tweets on Twitter while you're watching games tonight. Thanks everyone. That's it for today, my thanks to Brian snedker to Sarah

"Because there is this robbery between these two squats. Be real with me Manny. How much juice does it add that you will be playing the Dodgers in the next round? I think everybody wanted this series and we've been looking up at that all year and it's going to go out and try to just win three. That's all that matters and definitely the fans are going to be involved, going to the Dodger Stadium playing two and then going back home to San Diego. It's been a while since we got to play out there in front of our fans. So I was going to be epic, so it's going to be a hell of a ride. And it's a short ride back and forth between downtown San Diego and downtown LA. Manny, we appreciate the time go enjoy the celebration type with teammates. We'll see you against the doctor here in a couple of days. No problem. Thank you. Thank you guys. Appreciate it. Bleacher tweets already buster, bleacher tweets for a Mundy. Bleacher tweets are brought to you by Dr Pepper at 8 college football season without the delicious taste of an ice, cold Dr Pepper, the one fan deserved David crawley at date at crawley underscore David writes in if a team chooses a player for a playoff roster and in this case Craig kimbrell, that person's released and replaced on the roster during the postseason. I don't think I read that correctly. Yeah, well, anyway, at this point, can you release someone like Kimberly? Let's take Craig Campbell's name out of it and put a role this Chapman's name in it. Okay? Yeah, he can be released. Now, once he's put on a roster for a series, it has to be an injury that's approved by Major League Baseball. I've been fascinated to watch this Chapman thing happen because the Yankees are kind of struggling with for space in their 40 man roster tail. I think you agree with me. Now, from their perspective, you know what, dude, fine. Go home. We're cutting you in the midst of the playoffs. You head off into free agency. Oh my God, yeah, this is a no brainer. They can simply, I mean, he brings no value, I guess to this point. So why not let him go? He doesn't want to be there. So whatever. Mitchell at tigers of Detroit writes in, who has a better chance of pulling off the upset in the divisional series, the Phillies, or the Mariners. Yeah, I think the Mariners do just, look, you know, the Astros to me are prohibitive favor to make it to the World Series. They pick them to make of the World Series. I don't see the Phillies being the braves. I just don't. We'll see. Steven de Gunther at esta Gunther writes in with times announced for Tuesday with all four series. It's frustrating to have two games being played primarily during working hours, why not have overlap and have game start four, 6, 8, 9, or similar, surely early times won't grow the game, any idea for the solution. Buster, you know what I would say though, these times are really good for people who get paid to watch baseball. I don't have a problem with them, but what do you think about Steven's issue? No, I'm with you. I'm on baseball tonight this week. And I'm going to be fired up. I get sit and watch baseball basically from noon until 9 and just talk about what we saw in the games. That'll be fun. And by the way, you and I, Sarah, we got to get lunch this week. Yes, very exciting. I love when we can have a little bit of friendship time. Steven, there are only a couple of days just to answer the question. Look, there are only a couple of days during the course of the year in which this happens. Opening day, you know, first game of the wild card series, second day of the wild card series, maybe and of course on Tuesday. So I think everyone sort of lives with it. And yeah, if you're a fan of the guardians and your work and that game's going on, kind of stanks. And I think that reflected in some of the empty seats that we saw around ballparks in the divisions and the wild card series. Oh yeah, that was definitely noticeable. Adam adds that Adam ads writes in does the new playoff format give the wild card teams intangible advantages in the division series advantages like momentum and belief, what say you to Mariners and guardians in the ALCS. I don't know. I mean, we haven't fully seen the downside of playing in the wild card round manifest and that is having your pitching jumbled having your relievers taxed, I mentioned I'm picking the guardians to beat the Yankees in the American League championship series and not peck on the Mariners to beat the Astros. Don Irvine writes in the decision to leave, Chapman off the ALDS roster means that they are ready to part ways with him. Yes, I think that they were being professionally polite and keeping their options open and then when he didn't show up on Friday, I think all bets are off. So you. Matt, our friend eater of cheese whiz and master of spreadsheets, right? And you've said you like to root for the story. What's your biggest story from the wildcard round? Pool holes and yachty's careers close out. The Mariners fighting back in the Blue Jays collapsing, Scherzer's faulty start and the emergence of SpongeBob Gonzales. I got the Padres. I come back by the Mariners on Saturday was huge. But the Padres look good and they knocked off a hundred win team in the mets, and they seem like they're gathering momentum and everything going on with musgrove last night. That was crazy. What did you think of all that, Taylor? I kind of agree with the sentiment that like buck was just sort of doing his due diligence. Almost his job to be honest. Do you agree with me with a pharaoh comparison and what John told me? Yes. Yeah, absolutely. And I liked how musgrove handled it too. He was like, okay, you want to check me? Great. Let's do it. And then stick it to him. Right. Exactly. That was awesome. That was the best part of the game, I thought. So yeah, no big deal all around a little dust up, but whatever. We'll all move on from it. Last one, for today, Kate Harrington at kadin ten writes in about bonds record being legit or not. Reminds her of the current situation about what you call queen Camilla. She is the queen consort, but her actual title is Queen Camilla, even though a lot of people don't want to acknowledge that. I kind of like the idea that era judge is the king consort of the home run through. What do you think? Well, well, would it be Aaron judge is the king consort or would it be that Barry Bonds is the king consort? I mean, by the comparison. Right, I guess I think it's choose your own. That was a great observation. But I think bonds would be the king concert, right? King concert. I know I kind of think it's like for me. It depends on who you see as the one true king talking about bonds. She's talking about bonds. She's saying the question is whether bonds is legit. She's not a questioning judge is legitimacy. And that's where the comparison is. Come on, read it again. I know. I'm reading comprehension clearly not one of my skills. As evidence on this edition of bleacher tweets, so keep writing them in. So I can read them incorrectly. Yeah, we got a no baseball tonight, but we will be back tomorrow and every day this week. Yeah, just to remind everybody, during the postseason, we'll pretty much be doing podcasts, daily, unless we get an early end of the LCS and there are a few days off. We might take one off in the midst of that, but we're going to have daily podcasts during weekdays and we're going to have Sarah Lang's on with us every day and that'll be a lot of fun. "I guess this is also implying though that Dave did not respect you before he wrote this tweet. Wow. Listen to you. I mean, you go on negative after you had a nice weekend. Maybe it's because you didn't hit the over under number. We set for you. It's a little salty over here. Detroit at stats take rights in buster. Who's winning the World Series this year? All right, my preseason pick for the record was Blue Jays over the braves. I have taken a Mulligan on that pick and now I have the braves winning the World Series over the Astros, a repeat of last year's World Series. Okay? Let's go to jarrin at trying to be funny here, Duran Duran, Jaron Jaron. Hypothetically, the Yankees signed Tanaka right now and have him on the postseason roster, like what are the rules on that? No, they couldn't because you got to have anybody that you have in the postseason roster has to be within with your organization. In midnight on August 31st, they're actually the rule is that they have to be on the 40 man roster, but they're ways that teams get around that. But you have to be within an organization on August 31st and Tanaka's not. There you go. And Don Irvine, last one for today. He writes in, how would you rate the Met season if they don't make it to the LCS much less the World Series considering how much money they spent, assembling their roster? Yeah, and Sarah, I'm going to want you to chime in on this one. CB agree with me on this, I think the Met's season is success, no matter how deep they go into the postseason because I love the fact that their owners did Cohen has tried. And they've had a terrific season. They want a lot of games. They just happen to be locked into this absolutely blood fight with the Atlanta Braves for the top of the national league east and I know that they'll have questions in the off season. What's going to happen to Grom. But one way or the other, Sarah, I love the fact that they've tried to win, which is not always been the case with the mets organization. I mean, I don't believe in handing out participation or trying to win awards, but they are winning and obviously they're doing great. So yay, go miss. There you go. Sarah, our Taylor, one chime in. I do think it's a success actually. I'll come down on the other side of it. I mean, how many miserable mets fans do you know that have had very little to cheer about? Over the course of the last 20 years. So these are exciting times. I'm excited to see some playoff games at city field. That'll be fun. Yeah, I would say that, but I also know Matt's fans well enough to know that a lot of them who are friends of mine, they won't care about that. They'll just be mad that they got knocked out by the Dodgers of the braves or whatever team does the trick. Look at the upshot. This is a long-term project. You got a rich owner now. He's spending cash, you know, don't be turn that frown upside down. Yeah, and I was going to say, and we'll see if they go up to Aaron judge in the off season. You know, Rome wasn't built in a day. Wow. I've heard that. I've read that someplace. Really, I thought Sarah just made that up herself. She's so much wisdom. All right, that's it for bleacher tweets. Thanks everyone. And that's it for today, I might thanks to Tim, Sarah Addy, Sarah and Taylor, have a great day, everybody. Thanks for listening.

"Right, buster, it's time for bleacher tweets. The first one comes from T Jones at T and J 6 29. Buster, do you think the elimination of the waiver deadline of August 31st was a good or bad thing? I like it. You know, I like the fact that the teams have to settle on what the rosters are going to be at the end of July early in August. I didn't, it didn't ever felt right to me that you'd see teams at like three, four veteran players at the end of August. It felt like, you know, the teams that had higher payrolls had an even more significant advantage once we got to the waiver period because there were a lot of small market mid market teams that wouldn't consider taking on those guys. Next up is PK Steinberg at PK Steinberg with a quote unquote balanced schedule in 2023 and beyond will baseball do anything to realign divisions or are they actually pretty set as in they make sense the way they are. With two fewer division season water down those races or make them more competitive. Yeah, PK, I think that the divisions will be balanced out when they add two more teams through expansion. And I do think that's going to happen in the next decade. And one of those teams will be from Nashville. That's all I'm going to say. That would be fun. Oh yeah. Up next, we have Don Irving at Don Irving, which team will be more successful with new ownership, the nationals or angels. Don Irvine, I'm going to bet on the angels, you know, it's been interesting since we got word about Artie Moreno, hearing from folks with other teams who are basically saying, boy, if the angels have new ownership that's more aggressive and it stays out of the way of a talented front office that you could see the angels quickly bounce back. I mentioned earlier in the week. If I was an adviser to the incoming owner, I'd say, do what it takes. You gotta sign Shohei Ohtani. Did distinguish yourself from previous ownership? Be good to each other at the legend two two 8 8 8 writes in. How close is the NL Cy Young award race right now? Godzilla has a lower ERA rip and K9 than Alcatraz. Oh, and he leads in this new stack called wins, getting sassy. You too good to each other. Any chance he gets the nod or is it really just a war IP contest these days? I think it is mostly, I think those are the first numbers that some of the voters are going to look at wards and innings pitched. And by the way, you can't dismiss that. And in an era in which teams are holding back pictures from throwing too many innings, sandy is, I mean, he's racking them up. He might wind up the season with 232 140 innings. Those are type of numbers just unheard of in this era. Andrew, Sanford writes in at Sanford minus son. Hey buster, I've heard nary a PEEP on the pod about my beloved Texas Rangers firing their manager and president within days of each other. While I admit, I'm happy to see Daniels go, hashtag justice for Nolan Ryan. It does seem like odd timing. That's yeah. And I'm absolutely guilty of that. I have not addressed that in the two days since I've been back. It's a significant change. Let's face it with John Daniels. It was just that too many years had passed since they actually had had success. You know, he saw Brandon Hyde this year having success with the Orioles and you're happy for him because so often teams that struggle for an extended period of time, no matter how much talent the manager has, there's going to be a change. And I think that's at what happened with Chris Woodward. I think he manages again sometime in the big leagues. I think it would be a good idea and sometimes the next couple of weeks, I'll try to get Chris young on. He's the head of baseball operations for the rangers to see what plans they have. All right, that's it for bleacher tweets, be sure to submit your questions using hashtag bleacher tweets and we'll see you next week. That's it for today. That's it for this week. My thanks to Carl himbo Sarah and Taylor have a great day, everybody. Thanks for listening. Stay safe. Holy cow, what a ball game we have here tonight in Pawtucket. There's no clock in baseball, but it was time that made an ordinary game, legendary. It was just the battle. "They be in you. I'm glad that is not something that should be acceptable. Look, if you're a kid, like you're 9 ten years old and you're getting into baseball and you want to emulate your heroes and you put on batting gloves, that's one thing. But batting gloves and wiffle ball when you're adult, come on. Taylor, you got my back on this one? Yeah, I appreciate that he was probably doing a bit there to rile everyone up, but yeah, deservedly beaned. Yeah, but I feel like PK, he knew that that was what the reaction was going to be. Which I can appreciate. I do that with my son too. Sometime in a key spot in a game against my 18 year old son, we're playing wiffle ball. I'll turn around and bat switch to I'll switch it against him. Just to get inside his head a little bit. So I totally get it. PK is a little bit of a pot stir there. Mitchell at tigers of Detroit writes in. Is there a rotation in the AL that can compete with the top three of Verlander, valdes, and Javier, the rotation seems to be a very underrated part of the team? Well, the very top of the rotation, I'd say the J's, and I'm talking about like one and two, and then we'll see where the rest of it goes. But when you get Kevin gossmann, you have Alec manola, that's pretty good. If you're the Yankees, you're really stable, you know, Garrett Cole, obviously, and a good day. His best day can pitch with anybody, Nestor Cortez, times has been a Cy Young candidate. So potentially them, but pitching wise, right now, nobody's matching up with the Astros, and I think all their numbers really backed that up. At senior B, senior Bentley writes in trout had 9 strikeouts against the Astros this weekend, four on Saturday, on only 13 pitches to the Astros, have something figured out or is trout not as good as advertised. All right, let's look at the big picture here. Mike Trout, you know, a year 11. He's one of the best players in baseball history versus a few good days from the Astros pitchers against him. Yeah, it's the Astros figuring something out. Trout is as good as advertised, give credit to the Astros pitching. And now it'll be up to Mike Trout to make an adjustment. By the way, I saw you tweeting this morning. Do you hate the Astros, the Yankees or the mets more, which is it? Yeah, did you like how I did that? I sent out one tweet you said about strength to schedule going forward and asking with the asteroid catch the Yankees. There are 5 amp caves behind, but they're schedule on paper so much easier than the Yankees schedule. And I had people coming at me from both camp Yankees and camp Astros saying my tweet was a hate against their team. It can't be both. It might be though. Galaxy blame. Oh, that's right. I forgot I hate all 30 teams. That's where the tweet the show. Don Irvine writes in are the one year extensions for Mike Rizzo and Davey Martinez for more continuity reasons with a sale on the horizon or to the nationals, believe they are the best people for what looks to be a long rebuilding process. No, this is all about stability through a transition, but as I've been saying, we've been talking about this beginning of the year. There's a lot percolating there. And we don't hear about it a lot. There's not a lot of stories about it, but there's a lot going on because if you're the incoming nationals ownership, you want as much stability as possible. Andrew Sanford at Sanford minus sun rights. And hey buster, I'm a lifelong, albeit translated Texas Rangers fan. I love what I've been seeing from a dulles Garcia and I'm terrified that the rangers will trade him instead of nurturing his talent and my overreacting thanks love the show. You are overreacting. I will tell you this, you know, I sent this in a tweet out the other day. Rangers front office is absolutely devoted to the idea of building as they go forward. And adding as they go forward, even through the trade deadline, as they sit here today, they wouldn't make the playoffs, but they're probably going to add payroll in some sort of a deal because not only do they want to improve the rest of this year. And as you know, as a rangers fan, they've been playing better of late, they want to build going into 2023. So think about guys like Luis Castillo of the reds, and they do have a surplus of position players. The rangers do. So I think these are good days for the rangers. I feel like they're getting better and they're coming into the conversation. Last one today, Matt stock at M stock 73 rates and how do you see the Freeman negotiations impacting dance Swanson's contract talks with Atlanta. He has the same agency as Freddie Freeman did before you get fired on. Yeah, and by the way, Freddie put out that statement last week saying that his situation with the XL agency was fluid. Last I checked on it, which was on Sunday. Freddie is still listed as self represented. So nothing fluid about that. He is not with excel, dansby was asked by a reporter last week about the XL representation. He said he will stay with excel, nothing will change with excel, but I know dansby had known him for a long time. He's a smart guy. He's going to take in all the information that's in front of him. I don't think he's going to change excel, but you know, maybe ask different questions and Freddie did as they go forward. Already, that does it for bleacher tweets, hashtag bleacher tweets on Twitter while you're watching games tonight, we will be back tomorrow..

"Veronica. Who bit David Cohen to create that opportunity for el Duque. Oh, that's hilarious. Shout out to Veronica. Mitchell at tigers of Detroit is up next, Mitchell writes into the angels have enough to turn it around or will their pitching end up keeping them out of the playoffs once again. Yeah, I stopped trying to predict what the angels are going to do. I mean, who would have imagined that team with that many great players could be this bad the way they have been during this losing streak. AA Ron at Aaron plays MLB writes in so how about those Red Sox are trading Xander and everyone else columns and sound bites? Sounds like a little gloating after a sweep of the a's, but come on, it's the a stink right now. What an ALE series for God's sakes. Yeah, and I think all of those columns and comments were couched with if, right? There's a lot of AFC if the red sides continue down this trajectory. And I still think that's the case. If you see the Red Sox collapse in X 6 weeks, that might happen. We'll see what happens with the Red Sox offense. And oh, by the way, wouldn't go on too much. You lost three of 5 the Orioles and you lost that first game in the two game series against the reds. Don Irvine at Don Irvine is up next. He writes in the Yankees are doing great so far. So why are there still so many Aaron Boone haters and genki land? I'm not a Yankee fan just curious. I didn't really know this was a thing as of this season. There were past frustrations there. Oh, well, yeah, and it's social media, you know? I think people react in every moment and I've told the story before I'll tell it again. I remember during the World Series in 2014 going up to Bruce bochy, who was on his way to winning his third championship in 5 years. And I walked up to him and said, I'm having a hard time keeping up. Are you just a total genius or completely bleeping bleep stupid? Because that's what you would think if you were to read the reactions on a daily basis, people and social media, I think it just caught up in the moment. Way too much. I think Aaron judge's approval rating probably pretty high right now. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Aaron Boone, you mean, sorry. Oh, Aaron Boone, excuse me. Max Moreno at max Moreno writes in the Dodgers recently have seemed to gain a reputation for being able to turn. Pitcher's careers around at the risk of sounding too much like a Homer or the Dodgers. Also the only equivalent for hitters. They've been terrific at it. You know, max muncy, Chris Taylor, et cetera, et cetera. They've done a terrific job of developing players, you know, the Tampa Bay Rays of obviously been one of the best teams at that Andrew Freeman is a common denominator in that. And it'll be interesting going forward if you also see that with the Boston Red Sox given that heim bloom came from the Tampa Bay Rays. Blade bigler is our last one for today, buster you and Tim were discussing the improvements on my rangers. Do you think John Daniels can pull off another Cole Hamels type deal that propels them into World Series contention in the next few years? I need more information about the rangers. And you see how they progress, see how close they get, because it doesn't feel like the right time for them to make a deal like that. It's already that does it for bleacher tweets. Hashtag bleacher tweets on Twitter. If you listen to that buster Tim segment and you're like, oh wow, that would be fun to relive that again. You should go to the ESPN YouTube page and check that out because every Monday, their segment is on there. And it's a lot of fun. It is a lot of fun. It's always great to see Tim, although peek behind the curtain, we had a little issue with Tim's camera. And that's not a surprise. You know what though? He was talking about his, you know, I'm proud of him for getting through the airport with just the ticket on his phone, but do you think that was him overcompensating for what had happened like 45 seconds before? Well, I think it was a reminder of what is actual baseline is. And I know this because I'm not that far ahead of him, okay? But I am ahead of him. I think the rest of the world is at a.m. when it comes to technology. All right, that's it for today. Thanks to Tim, Sarah, Sarah Taylor, boob, Ollie, David Ross, Patrick wisdom again. He was really fun over the weekend. Have a great day, everybody. Thanks for listening. Stay safe. "Tweets already buster bleacher tweets for a Wednesday, and as promised in our previous segment with Todd radham, here is our weekly quiz for you buster. You gotta be on the record for this one. Oh boy. So here we go. You try to get out of this too before we record. Let the listeners know here. All right, here's the question. Which team has the longest active winning streak of World Series games one? Is it a, the San Francisco Giants? B, the Cincinnati reds, C, the Chicago White Sox, or D, the Saint Louis Cardinals. Gotta be the reds. Winner winner chicken dinner buster. Wow. Wow. Didn't even blink. No hesitation. Now, now some there are some parts of my brain that don't work. That's one part of my brain that works. All right, well, hey, aren't you glad you did the question then? Yep. I didn't feel like a genius. How'd you guys do with that question? Not great. I'm so wrong. All right. Forgot that. Well, the order to the universe has been reestablished then. Absolutely. All right, let's go to the tweets. We got a whole batch from here. Pat Johnson at the melting pad is up first. Pat writes in on Thursday, my son, Arthur will be a year old, happy birthday. They Arthur. I think I have to thank the podcast crew for getting us through TV and COVID and late night feeds to make this about baseball who climbs from the seller first. My Phillies or Taylor's Orioles. Yeah, the Phillies. I don't think it's close, and by the way, pat, congratulations. That is actually a fun time and being a parent. But it's got to be the Phillies, because the Orioles have a ways to go. I keep on getting all the tweets from world fans who are like, you need to give the Orioles credit. I'm like, okay, you know, they're a little better, but that's like going from an F grade to a D I mean, they're still on a pace to win like 68 games. My buddy texted me a couple of days ago and was like, oh, the oils turn the corner. I'm like, they can just, you know, this is a bound to happen in baseball. You know, a couple stringing together. I mean, the bar was so low. Hey, we won more than 52 games. You know, we'll see. And the key question is, is as the team gets better and this talent that they've been collecting by tanking grows will ownership spend money the way that the cubs in the Astros did to augment it. That's the key question. Would you agree with me? Oh yeah. And I mean, when are we going to start seeing these young guys too? Right. They're all being held up in the miners, and it's incredibly frustrating to watch. Another one of my Friends has convinced me that all these guys are going to be good. So that's where my head is right now. Who knows how reasonable that is? Let's go to Ed at EF cade, maybe. My submission for bleacher tweets, having the cameraman on the field during the player celebration is a distraction thoughts. And they're not. I kind of like the up close and personal. And I know in some of the cameramen who have had that job, do we at duke and then we have Jared, great guys, players like it. I like it. And players aren't bothered by it. Andrew Campbell at real camp drew is up next, Andrew writes, and hey buster, it's become quite fun watching future all star Nestor Cortez just deal every 5 days. But the way the league's pitchers are ahead of the batters this year isn't as much fun, Major League Baseball's average is two 33, the league OPS 6 77 he threw in a barf emoji in there. Any way we can fix this. Yeah, I do think they will have some sort of regulation shifts next year. I hope they have some sort of a regulation. The use of relief pitchers, which I think is contributing this because you're seeing a parade of guys who are throwing 98 mph. And I agree with you about context being so important. And in Nestor Cortes is terrific and you see in a lot of great pitching stats, but it reminds me of the late 90s when everyone was hitting 30 homers. Like the feet of hitting 30 homers didn't feel quite as exciting because the context. Mike mosque at the mosque three is up next. Heim bloom's fingerprints are all over the Red Sox failure. He's constructed an aging rotation and an awful bullpen who's the closer he's alienating fans and destroying the Clubhouse by mishandling Bogart's contract. I think that's all correct. Well, and I'd say this. I mean, haim bloom is not alone in the decisions when it comes to paying Xander bogarts. That's an ownership decision, not heim's decision. He might give a recommendation, but in the end, it's up to ownership to decide whether or not they feel like keeping Xander bogarts is the centerpiece is worth it to the organization and as it meant saying the podcast, they damn well better reassess that because I think it's clearly having an effect on the team. Don Irvine writes in all 5 teams in the NLS or above 500, are they all that good or is this a fluke that will correct itself by the end of the season? Flu, I don't think there's any chance the rockies finish at 500. Danny norlander at DL norlander is up next. He writes in hey buster, the Nats are the second best team in total hits this year fourth and batting average, 9th in runs and RBI, but they're pitching as awful 29th and the ERA and whip any chance of a turnaround with the return of Strasbourg dolittle and Harvey by June and July. No, I think Mike Rizzo, their general managers demonstrated. He will be aggressive when it comes to flipping assets when he feels like that the Nats don't have a chance within the context of division led by the braves and the mets. I don't think they have a chance to contend this year. Last one for today, chief beef at Carl havoc. I love this Red Sox piling on makes me so happy. He writes in Xander bogarts, not being paid, has nothing to do with the bullpen not being able to hold and save games, same goes for the bottom of the order not being able to hit their way out of a paper bag. I don't know. I mean, I think it can be related to some degree because the offensive struggles. And it's possible that some of what's going on with the offense, you might be related to what happened with bogarts. And guess what? That's put more pressure on the pitching. And the pitching, you're right, has folded. So I do think that they're interconnected in some way. "On Mondays and what we will continue doing on Mondays as we go forward and we'll start with this bleacher tweet Steve Bannon at S banton 16. And hey guys, I'd like you to remind us where we can catch the podcast. Where we can watch the podcast, excuse me, we like options. Well, you can watch Mondays, kind of our main meaty part of the show on YouTube now. Normally, you know, we do that with Tim kirchen. Tim kirchen off this week, so we have Carl ravage step in, no big deal, but you can watch that main Monday portion of the podcast on YouTube on the ESPN page. You should definitely subscribe to the ESPN page. It looks great. Our guy, Anthony, who's producing the video, does a great job. And we're really excited about and hopefully we can do more going forward. So you guys gotta watch it on there too, and if it does well, then we can do more. That's kind of how this works. Awesome. Yeah, let's make it happen. All right, David Fitzgerald at Dave fat kid writes in if the Red Sox keep on this bad pace will Xander bogarts in Raphael Devers be on the trade block. I don't think the Devers will be in the trade block this year, but it's interesting. I think bogarts might be because it does feel like that the Red Sox were a million miles away from signing him. And if it's a lost season, well, you know what? Why not? In midyear, they traded Mookie bets. They certainly are capable of trading Xander bogarts. Eric E at esoteric Eric zero rates in hey buster, what do you think is the cause for guys who perennially have slow starts to their season? Can it all be weather related? Is there more to it? Yeah, Eric this year, they're just so many variables in play. We had this short and spring training, we had the unusual nature of spring where rather than guys getting one plate appearance and then after a week of that getting two and sort of slowly ramping up, they had to squeeze a whole bunch of plate appearances into short period of time. We all wonder about the effect of the humidors that all teams are using right now. We've heard the conversation around the baseball. And how it's not traveling as far. I wish I could give you a really concrete answer, but I feel like this year, in particular, I can not. Last one for today, Don Irvine at Don Irvine writes in. I wish buster's bet with me on who will win more games. The nationals of Orioles was on for this season. I think I'd stand a decent chance of winning this year. Oh, the Nats look rough, dude. Yeah, they do. And I would expect that once we get to mid season, they're potentially going to trade some of their guys like, you know, Josh bell, for example. Don, I mean, we didn't do the bet before the season started, but I'll do a gentleman's bet with you. Okay. No stakes per se, but I'll take that bad. I do agree with you. It's going to be really close. Alrighty, Don, there you go. Thanks for writing everyone hashtag bleacher tweets on Twitter. Please follow rate and review this podcast wherever you listen to podcasts and watch the show on YouTube. Yeah, Don, just keep on reminding me. "Tweets already buster, bleacher tweets for a glorious Friday, Jacob stack at Jacobs stack 11 is up first. He writes in so you've made clear your Dodger fandom is gone, but admit it, you have a slight bias slash interest in the braves due to your son Jake, huh? It couldn't possibly be the fact that the braves are current world champions. We wouldn't be paying attention to the braves, right? Otherwise, or that we did the game last night. Well, I mean, the fact is, is that the braves games are onto my house more than other teams because of Jake. Let's go to Gary the no trash cougar writes in why wouldn't he's talking about Jacob de Grom here. Why wouldn't he opt out at the end of the year when he can probably double his annual salary with a new contract unless his arm falls off by then always a possibility, but he'd be a fool not to is what Gary says. Gary, his annual salary next year is $35 million. Do you think he's going to double that? The injuries that he's had? No. The question is whether or not he can be healthy enough to be in this year to get another big contract and how he's going to handle that. It is a surprise that with that $35 million cab on the line for 2023 he's already determined he's going to walk away from that. Our guy, Don Irvine is up next at Don Irvine Don writes in. How many games did the nationals have to win the season for Davey Martinez to avoid being fired? I'm thinking that maybe he's been appointed like the caretaker manager of this transitionary period of the nationals. What do you think? Okay, the nationals constantly change their managers, but one common denominator for a lot of decisions that they make, they don't like to spend money. So, you know, if the team's bad, I don't think that's going to be a surprise to anybody, per se, but I also don't think they're going to go out and hire another manager and pay two guys. He won a World Series, maybe they just let him hang out with all things are turning over. Right. Exactly. I mean, he can bring to the team along and then general managers say they'll analyze everything at the end of the year. Ernesto saido earn YC three 7 7 rights. And am I being overly cynical for looking at the Brian Hayes Trey contract you probably means in thinking this is the perfect contract for them to trade away in two seasons. It feels like the nutting's are content with collecting revenue and feeding larger markets. Yeah, I don't know if that's the plan, but there's no doubt about it. You know, that contract if Brian Hayes turned out to be as good as what people think, that's going to be looked at as being a valuable team friendly contract in a way that José Ramírez's contract was looked at as team friendly contract. That's going to increase his value in the trade market. No doubt about it. I don't know if the pirates have even talked internally about actually trading him, but it's going to make it more valuable. Last one for the week. Or in sleepwalker at or an 83 rates in, more likely to play out his contract with his current team without being traded. Brian Hayes or Wanda Franco. Only because their health questions now could Brian Hayes after last year, the issue that he had with his ankle. I think he's more likely to play out his contract. Wanda Franco, to me, is a guy who eventually is going to opt out of his contract. He's a monster talent. Already, that does it for bleacher tweets for the week, hashtag bleacher tweets on Twitter as you're watching games this weekend. Thanks everyone. That's it for today. My thanks to Jess Todd, Sarah and Taylor, have a great day, everybody. Thanks for listening. And I should also say thanks to Joey Votto. Man, he was great yesterday and so generous in wearing.

"I can't imagine that any other team would have that many MVPs without making the postseason. You know, you think back to Alex Rodriguez winning an MVP with the Texas Rangers occasionally guys who Andre Dawson, I think one one with the cubs when they didn't make the playoffs. But for 5, in that kind of run, that's a great observation by UP K and it makes you understand a little bit more why they went so hard in. I know a synagogue trying to build that pitching. They've been lacking. That's tough for angels fans. Reggie Greenfield and mine has a nice little hypothetical for us. He writes and buster could part of the solution to overly dominant pitching and the lost money during the pandemic, be a massive expansion in 1969, the league win from 20 to 24. So the lead could truly if it wanted to go from 30 to 36 teams now if Major League Baseball charged 750 million per team that's 4.5 billion in expansion fee money, go into places like Montreal and Portland, moving the athletics and raise, you create 8 new markets and make Major League Baseball a national sports league again, divisions of 6 and 6 would work perfectly. What do you think about Reggie's hypothetical here? Reggie, you went way deeper than my brain has in terms of expansion. But you're right, in the years in which expansions come into play, you've seen a pitching performances go down. You've seen offensive numbers go up. I think as soon as we get the next labor deal, you're going to start hearing about expansion. Where they're going to work quickly toward getting the raise and the Oakland situation settled, and once that happens, then you're going to see two expansion teams. And it's going to be for a lot more than $750 million to be my guest. Don Irvine is up next at Don Irvine, Don writes in what kind of stat line would know a synagogue need to have in 2022 to make his signing by the angels success. Oh, he's not gonna throw a ton innings. I'm guessing it's gonna be something in the range of like a 130 innings. I think if he has like A380 RA, you'd sign up for that if you're the angels. I know their perspective is that they feel like they need some high end pitching to go along without tawny. They had a lot of option in the marketplace where it's like number four number 5 type starters. And if synagogue is right, they feel like he could be more like a number of front of the rotation type guy. Matt Spiegel at speeds, one zero two 7 rates in, if there was an award for best overall coaching staff, who would you have voted for this season? Well, if the voting was done at the end of the regular season, you definitely would have to give that to the San Francisco Giants. They won the most games. If we include the postseason, I would vote for the Atlanta Braves. And we've talked in the podcast though, we feel like that is a real weapon for those guys to have such an experienced group of great coaches Ron Washington Rick cranach, the hitting coach. I love south asano. It was a catching instructor, EY, Eric young, none of them a long time. That is a great coaching staff. Elizabeth hart at ehart tweets writes in no one ever even mentioned Charlie Montoya as manager of the year, candidate, but three home sites later, he got the Blue Jays to within one game of making the playoffs. If they were in the NL east, they would have won the division. Why no love for Charlie? Yeah, Elizabeth, you're right. I never mentioned him. I tend to when we talk about the awards they tend to talk more about who I think is going to win it. And I never thought that he had a chance to win it because if there was a winner from the American League east, there was going to be Kevin cash. If that makes sense. You know, I think it was an advantage for dusty baker that the Astros did what they did. You know, Tony La Russa, we talked about because the White Sox ran away with the division. I just didn't see a path for Charlie to win because again, if the vote went to anybody in the American League, it had to go to either to Kevin cash or to Alex Cora given the improvement of the red side. Does that make sense Taylor? Oh, yeah. I mean, he's just in a tough spot. It's a bummer. Yeah. Last one, for today, spends 30 at B spends 30, 32, Spence writes in, what are the reds doing? Can't see Castellanos coming back and they seem to be dumping salary at a time when they should be competitive, frustrating. Yeah, it feels like that bobcat cellini their owner is setting himself up to sort of redo where the payroll is with all these cutbacks and trading Tucker barnhart, you know, moving his salary out, there have been a lot of conversations about whether they'll move a Luis Garcia, Sonny gray, it does have to be frustrating and it doesn't feel like that the reds are doing anything to close the gap on the Saint Louis Cardinals. It feels like that they're just trying to cycle through and look into build the next wave behind guys like Jonathan India. "Thing that stood out to me as far as those awards are concerned. But they go gloves. Again, generally speaking, I think they get most of these right because we have we're so good now and being rooted in the data. But I'm hopelessly biased. JT Realmuto is the best catcher in the national league buster. Jacob stallings had a really nice year. I know his blocking numbers. I think specifically were extraordinary with his past all allowance. And that kind of stuff. But generally speaking for wars like these, I use a player's body of work to be able to sort of break ties because defense can be a little bit noisy year to year and obviously you're not watching them play defense the same way that you're watching them hit and evaluating them as such. And DT real much was the best arm in baseball. He prevents base runners from stealing better than anybody. His framing numbers are always fantastic. Baseball perspective had him third in blocking run. So across the board for my money, he's the best catcher in the national league and I'm sure I was happy for Jacob stallings. The pirates didn't have the chance to win too much this year. So that would say amongst all the words that I went through this morning. Those are the two that stood out. Surprised that Bryant snicker wasn't a finalist for that award. And surprised at JT real Muto did not win the gold glove on the national league. All right, hambo. Always great to talk with you. Later, boys. Get out. Bleacher tweets already buster, bleacher tweets, for a Tuesday, we got Andrew Campbell at real camp drew writing in, hey buster, is it possible that Nolan Arenado has a chance to either tie or surpass Brooks Robinson's gold glove total of 16, Nolan is 30 years old and only needs 7 more gold gloves to tie if he reached 16, would he retire as baseball's greatest defense of third baseman? Andrew, the, you know, I love you. But the word only needs 7 more. Only 7, 9. He is a long way away, and I would say this as we move forward. Brian Hayes is going to be a major factor because his defense is special. Also you wonder Matt Chapman with the Oakland seemingly ready to dumps salaries if they're going to move match Chapman. And if he goes the national league, that's going to change the context for sure. He would be a really nice fit for the mets, for example. Adam Smith is up next at Schmidt FIA writes in with posey's retirement. There's been a lot of chatter in TC markets about mauer's case for the hall. He had an incredible few years, but I don't know if he has longevity or numbers. What are your thoughts? Yep, Hall of Famer, lifetime three or 6 batting average, three batting titles, MVP in 2009, four top ten finishes MVP 6 time all star 2123 career hits, which is 623 more than buster. In his career, 921 games at catchers, 6 O three at first base, posey had more games at catcher in his career, 1093, 229 games at first, but Joe mauer and his time as they catch her was a difference maker. You know, the other day I was texting back and forth with Bruce bochy, and he talked about what an advantage it always was for the Giants that they had an elite offensive player at catcher and the same is true for the twins. Let's go to Brian at a player to be named later, Brian writes in love the show. Can we talk about unicorn Joey Gallo back to back gold glove winner elite feet per second rate and bottom 1% in strikeouts ever seen this combo before? No, not with somebody that big. Well, actually, you know, when Aaron judge is a little bit like that, you know, in terms of his athleticism, but I remember when Joey first came to the big leagues and you see this hulking guys huge. And I was talking with John Daniels, the general manager of the rangers, and he was talking about how like Joey's a much better athlete than anybody realized his boy was he right. Let's go to Don Irvine. What's up, Don? Don writes in, now that Kyle schwarber is a free agent, do you see him signing with an AL team to serve as a DH rather than the NL considering his defensive deficiencies and will he get a multiyear deal considering his 2021 season? Yep, he'll get a multiyear deal, I think there's going to be universal BH for 2022. So he'll consider offers from teams in both leagues. Mister jakey RS at mister JK RS writes in, now that the season is over, what's the feeling on the crackdown over foreign substances after all the grumbling? Do you think it had an impact on the game? Was there a big enough sample size? Yeah, I think there was. It was clear that there were pictures affected by it. You know, spin rates, you could tell that some pictures were affected by it. You know, we had Alex Avila on the podcast and he acknowledged and agreed with what I saw down the stretch that there were a lot of pictures who actually using foreign substances, good old fashioned bullfrog, that sort of thing. I think they found a middle ground. I really hope that they settle this issue because it really is unfair to all of them. As I said during the year when people would talk about someone like a Scherzer or Garrett Cole as a cheater, I'd be like, I mean, 90% of the pictures were using something. And I really would love to get past the conversation. Last one for today, Matt, but covered in confetti at kayaking Smith rates and there's been talk on the pod that Seattle, Texas and Miami may make some splashes this off season. But what teams would be should be worried about setting up to tank next year. I feel like the cubs, guardians nationals and reds are candidates. Congrats on the braves, World Series there mat hope you enjoyed your celebrations. Yeah, absolutely. Look, the guardians don't tank. When we talk about tanking and Taylor sorry to pick a scab for you, I mean, we look at what the Orioles have done a recent years. We looked at what the Astros did in the early 2010s. The last time the Indians lost a hundred games was 1991. The Indians excuse me, the guardians retooled. The athletics retooled. They don't tank. The Orioles, there's absolutely no sign that they're going to veer from their strategy, which means, I'd say right now, whatever the over under is in Vegas, if you want to retire, I think you bet the under on whatever Vegas comes up with your team, what do you think? Oh, yeah, empty account. Bet it all buster bet it all on that under. I'm gonna check that out after we're done. I'm sure it's not up yet, but the second it is, you know where you define me. So thanks for writing everyone. Hashtag bleacher tweets on Twitter. Again, we're gonna do another show. Next Friday, we had a great batch of tweets this week, so keep them coming throughout the week and please follow rate and review this podcast wherever you listen to your podcasts. And just to touch on a couple of other teams real quick, Luis Castillo and Sonny gray, two guys to watch for the reds, I'm curious to see if they trade them. If they do, then you wonder if they're going to be retooling. They have too many good position players to actually go into full on tank. And I think the what to watch for for the cubs, do they make a major expenditure? You know, it was a good sign that they're not tanking that they picked up wade Miley. Before we go, I just want to mention we got sad news yesterday, Pedro Feliciano, longtime left handed pitcher passed away at age 45 and his sleep at word of Perez colleague tweeted out that news, I didn't really know him that well, but everybody that did know him better than I just they were heartbroken yesterday. So our thoughts go out to the family of Pedro Feliciano. My thanks to date to Carl to hambo to Taylor have a great day to everybody. Thanks for listening. Stay safe and remember, Hayden inequality based on skin color is something we need to fight against every single day. Thanks for listening to the baseball tonight podcast. If you're.

"Bleacher tweets. The last bleacher tweets for this week. Don irvine asked given the fact that the nationals won't be competitive for a few years. What is the likelihood that max scherzer would resign with them in the off season. I can't see him going back there now. Look i know mike. Rizzo the general manager of the nationals. Well enough to know that he's not going to be someone who's going to be tanking For the next three or four years. However if you max scherzer and you're nearing the end of your career do you wanna go to a teen. That's rebuilding. I don't think so. I would not be surprised if he signed with another team. And i think everyone is wondering at some point. You know what. Max play for the cardinals of the team that he rooted for when he was growing up. Dirac eight thirty five has this. Is there a reason that stan judging gallo being the three outfielders with void. Dha and rizzo playing first base being the daily lineup. For the yanks isn't being considered is due to stands injury history or something else. You're carl and i talked about that. I think there's been a general reluctance within the yankees organization to play stand in the outfield given them makeup of the roster that does seem to be the best potential lineup for them. So i would expect that. It's going to be continue to be plein more in the outfield cab. Three six five one nine eight three three. I asked hey buster. You mentioned the podcast. Thursday that freddy freeman and fernando. He's junior big. Mvp candidates what is each player. Have to do to be the mvp. I think fernando taxis junior right now is in the lead if he's productive down the stretch regardless of whether or not the Padres make the playoffs. I think he's gonna win. I think the way that freddy freeman would overcome. That would be tattoos. Junior gets hurt again. Or if he slumps down the stretch and framing continues to roll. We talked yesterday about how he's had the highest batting average in major league baseball since may seventh and if the braves wind up renting a winning a running away with the national yeast than i think he's going to be given a lot of credit for that. Pk steinberg writes. Baseball loves its curses. The cubs the red sox but are the phillies the team with the most losses in baseball history. Actually the most curse team. I'm not buying that. Pk 'cause i'm looking at that team. In cleveland the indians have not won the world series since nineteen forty eight. of course. next year they'd be called the guardians which will have to assume this curse and keep in mind the needs not only have they not won the world series but in two thousand sixteen eighty three to one lead over the cubs in that world series and they played into extra innings after coming back in game seven that's pretty heart wrenching. I don't know if can the phillies can overcome that remember. The phillies won a world series in two thousand eight so pk. I would put it on the the baseball franchise. In cleveland keep sending in those bleach tweets over the weekend. After williamsport remembrance sunday night baseball we indians and angel shohei otani and mike trout and jose ramirez hanging out with little leaguers. It should be an absolute blast. My thanks today.

"Then i kinda like it with those two guys next up. We have my i don irvine at don irvine don rights and after gutting the nationals. How much time does mike. Rizzo have to put a playoff contending team on the field before the owners and fans lose their patients. That's a good question. You know mike. Rizzo was as always been relentless in putting a team together in going and getting what he needs. Any proved even more relentless in getting rid of players. But i'm gonna. I'm gonna give him. And the organization the benefit of the doubt three agency had all these big contracts already signed. It's gonna take a while to figure out what the nationals you're gonna do next. Which is i gray. Starting on monday night people will tell you he might be the best prospect move during that crazy trade deadline so they got a real. They got a chance to to move pretty quickly here. And there's always a chance. Mike rizzo. the riverboat. Gambler is gonna resign some of these players who he just traded away. The max scherzer in theory could come back and picture the nationals next year but always remember mike rizzo's also a player. Developmental guy is dad. Lay dab was a scout and mike. Rizzo knows how to build a team from the ground up. Believe me it's just as the gm he's gonna try to win the world series. Now he's going to have to do it another way. And i think he's more than equipped to do that next up. We have david at baseball fan. Nine hundred eighteen. David wants an update on the twenty twenty. One free agent store shortstop class. He kind of runs through them all here. He's got lindores. Obviously he signed with the mets story. Almost traded the deadline by train to the mets career refused to sign the astros contract offer and seger with the dodgers Trading for trade turner kind of murky situation there. Where do they all stand looking ahead to next year. Any of those pop out to you well. Bat whole scenario has changed so with the cory seager injury with the lindores signing with hoppy buys at least at the moment while he's playing shortstop at the moment but he's going to probably finish the year as a second baseman trade turner though not free agency is also played. Second base aminzadeh. Really weird look. We just figured there'd be five braid shortstops coming out to free agency. And that's just not the case and trevor story. Were still astonished how he is still on the rockies at this point and let's not forget that marcus simeon could enter this group also. He's a second basement this year for the blue jays. But he's got know twenty four homers in his added great year. So you know we just figured this would be the perfect scenario. All these shortstops coming out at the same time and it just hasn't been exactly the way we thought it was gonna be. All those guys are gonna make money. maybe not as much as we thought they were gonna make mark worcester wrightson at mark rooster says why did teams way just to just before the trade deadline to make deals yankees needed lefthanded bats all year texas had to know for two months. They are trading gallo yankees would be in such a better position had they required him a month ago. Seem with rizzo. Well it's an excellent point. We understand but like any other deadline players teams are going to wait till the end on these things and just look at rizzo for instance or not gonna unload all these players a month ago. They and then they lost eleven games at row and everything changed. So you can't say why didn't the yankees get resolved to months ago. Well the cubs were planning on winning the division two months ago so you have to go right to the deadline. I've seen this taylor million times. I've had general managers. Tell me if we win. Tonight's game were going to be buyers. If we lose today's game we're going to be sellers. That's how close it comes to the deadline and how quickly things can change last one for today. Todd alec pratt rates in at todd pratt. Seven tim what are the chances that the cubs signed. Rizzo brian or havi this winter. I've been on a bleacher tweets. Hiatus but i come to you searching for home my buddy zach. He was texting me all week. And he's like. I need busters take on who these guys are going to be signed in. What do you think they can't resign more than one right now. I don't see how again it's all going to depend of course how these players do in their new spots. Let's say hobby buyers. And the mets off and bios lindores just love playing next to each other. I can't see hobby by going back to the cubs as much as he loved in the success he had there. What if the yankees completely take off. Anthony rizzo has an amazing two months. They make the playoffs and they offer him a contract. Wh why would he want to leave the aggies if he just took them to the playoffs in chris bryant just told us yesterday that he grew up loving the san francisco giants and barry bonds was his favorite player. What is the what if the giants win the division and they do something in october and kris bryant right in the middle of why would he go back to chicago. Look the cubs are a great franchise. All three of those guys would be. I'm sure happy to go back. But the logical thing is. I don't think any of the three is guaranteed to go back. I would say rizzo's the best opportunity but let's see what happens the next two months then. We'll make determination already that. Is it for a loaded slate. "Just a matter of keep sticking to our principles. Good bad speech. Well blake defense and turn the page. That's the most important thing. Don't get caught up on all the high or all the talk. whatever. I always said that In this city it gets loud. You know it gets loud outside our walls and my job as a manager is to keep the noise outside the clubhouse and stay the course and so far. We've been doing that job. You'll try to even the series with the race tonight. You got two things really working to your favorite. Let's start with this on the mound. That's nathan of oldie. What what a great arm to have for you tonight. In this in this situation one and We got him in eighteen and everybody knows the story right and he's getting better he's healthy. He's made some adjustments Nutrition wise workout wise. And he's been able to pose every five days which is very important. You know the stuff you know. Good fastball good. break split Throwing a lot of strikes in this team. That is very aggressive. We've been facing them. Since strength training we play them a lot in spring training and now during the season. Obviously we're gonna play them. A lot is a good baseball team. They're defending american league. Champions can also we know that they're good but a blend that we have made and hopefully can go deep into the game. Let's second thing working for you tonight. To is rough hield diverse and alex. He's so much fun to watch. Every time i've seen him at the plate this year. his lips are moving the whole time. Can you share with me. Whatever that conversation is that he's having with his bat himself for whatever it is he working in his whatever. It is what i mean. This is started early in the season but the last few weeks i think people have noticed and is actually a conversation. I never asked him what he said. Sometimes it's an english sometimes in spanish sometimes its bangladesh too so I just leave it at that. He's been amazing for us One thing that people don't realize or forget about that he's only twenty four and we talk about the teas. We talk about laddy. We talk about soda all those young players. And because rafi got to. The billy bigwigs in seventeen because he has a world series ring and he led the big lixin extra-base hits in nineteen. They think twenty seven. No no no. He's twenty four and still learning how to play the game. He says that his Looking more like you did. Two seasons ago is because you're back in the dugout. What's your reaction to that. Hopefully when he signs that big contract whatever he gives me five percent of it if he feels our. I'm happy that he says that you know. There's a kid that. I really appreciate not only on the field but off the feel he's been amazing is one of those that he such a good person. Which is the most important thing. We connect the rightaway traveling to the michigan. He will travel toward. Rico we'll make sure we stay in touch in the off season somebody that is very important not only for our president but also for the future in a. He's become a superstar I'm glad he says that. I feel the same way about him. Bleacher tweets all ready. Timmy bleacher tweets for a mundy. We have A loaded slate of tweets. Here let's go to andrew desalvo desalvo. Shen andrew writes in. What is kumar rocker likely to do. Now that the mets didn't sign him can the mets trade. his rights in someone else can sign him if no. Why wouldn't that be allowed. Seems to punish the player if a frugal overly cautious team drafts and a lot of people. Want answers about this kumar rocker situation. What do you think buster. What he'd think jim. Excuse me. well this is a very thorny situation and it's not an equitable situation kumar. Rocker is being punished here. And he can. No you cannot trade his rights. He has reentered the drafts next year. Which certainly could happen. But he's going to have to probably go play independent ball somewhere all and that. That just doesn't seem right for him to be able to re enter the draft. He thinks they can't sign him. They should be allowed trade his rights to someone who does want to sign him and it's simply not fair to the clare buster ni- talked about this quite a bit smarter next. We have john you'll at j. bill. Nineteen john writes in. If nick magical is healthy plane as well as he was before. The injury is craig kimbrel. Still on the white sox That's a really good question. Nick miracles a good little player as we know he puts the ball in play. He puts the bad on the ball last year. Thirty five hits thirty two singles. He's the guy who really tried to get a hit not hit a home run you went. I believe it was one hundred and six. Seventy six pitches this year without a swing and miss. That's who he is and yes if he hadn't gotten heard it would still be the everyday second baseman for the white sox. Craig kimbrel likely would not be on the white sox but they're going to start next year the cubs with madrigal at second nico ordered shortstop. And you could do a whole lot worse than those two guys who have tremendous baseball. Iq's in the middle infield and both of them are intent on. Put the ball in play so when the cubs start over next year. It's going to be an interesting look in the middle infield. Then i kinda like it with those two guys next up. We have my i don irvine at don irvine don rights and after gutting the nationals. How much time does mike. Rizzo have to put.

"Tweets already buster bleacher tweets for a wednesday for stubby. Vincent phanom at vs anom. Vince writes in. Am i crazy. Thinking sixty one could happen this season. I don't think so. What do you think no that means you. You know otani twenty seven. Were just about at the halfway mark. He goes on this bursts of games. And you know that if otani was close to that sort of a number sixty sixty one at the end of the year that the angels joel madden otani would probably be like you know what. Let's go for broke. Let's try to make it happen. I would say this might. Trout is terrible and making predictions. I asked before the year about what otani could accomplish and he goes you know what if he has a big year. He could have thirty. Plus home runs wasn't games. Come on drug you know he He wasn't that close on the home. Runs no actually. That was an amazing prediction by him early on he was talking about how great a tiny was gonna be this year. I don't anybody expected to hindi. This great though yeah for sure. Let's go to don irvine. At don irvine don writes in now that it looks like the nationals will be buyers and not sellers who are they likely to pursue by the trade deadline. Looks like max scherzer. Probably not going anywhere. We've been talking about that for weeks. So who do they go after. Yeah and people talked about couch. Warburg land someplace. That obviously isn't going to happen. As long as they stand contention. Look this is a case where i think we have to wait until about july twentieth to determine exactly what the nationals needs are going to be a lot of contenders are going to be like that especially with his broad reassessment. We've talked about in recent days. The teams are doing pitchers and whether or not their pitchers who have to rely on foreign substances to be successful. Good points next up. Dgb debbie games brown. She rates and are you buying the red sox as a legitimate top three team in baseball top three teen. I think they have the potential for that depends on what chris sale is when he comes back and i think he will come back at some point. This year is going to be kind of a you know four or five. Era type. Chris sale as he comes back from significant elbow surgery. And i'm curious about who they get before the trade deadline but the fact is i mean when you have a record of forty nine and thirty one. You're eighteen games over five hundred. You're talking about a team. That's basically on a ninety eight wind pace. That is a team that is at the very least excellent especially with its offense and they could get better top three. I still think of the Padres the dodgers potentially the giants and the astros. Maybe being better than a red sox. That's what i was thinking to those teams slightly above them last one for the day. Paul swain at welsh brewers seventy rates in. Come on guys. The brewers crushed the cubs on monday including a ten run eighth inning. And no mention on the podcast. How about some love for the brewers love. The show by the way love you to politics. Give the brewers some love. Well it's funny that he that Paul you mentioned that. I actually double back. And i'm looking at the rundown in the last thing i added was a highlight from the brewers game. Because i'm like we gotta have that. And i also was ready to talk today about the brewers because after hearing hembo in spring training i changed my pick. I was gonna pick the cardinals. But i picked the brewers because hembo was so adamant that they were the clear favorites. And ambos not gonna say anything lightly. So i switched my picks on friday. I'm going to give him props. Which i really hate doing the worst. That dang hembo our guys that does it for bleacher tweets..
