I'm getting very close to having A final decision made under the key senator says he will back the president. In the appointment. President Trump Rally in Pennsylvania actually thanked his longtime GOP nemesis, Mitt Romney, for siding with him and backing a pre election vote on his soon to be announced Supreme Court nominee The decision to proceed with the new nominee is also consistent with history and I'm precedent. Andi, that's right, come out. By backing a vote. Romney becomes the latest and perhaps most consequential GOP domino to fall all but assuring the president's pick will not only receive an up or down vote, but very likely a confirmation. PS5 Pre-Orders at Walmart Are Acting a Little Strange
"Biggest news of the week, of course. Everything that's Sony. announced. Yesterday, we finally have price released eight, and then a priori sort of clumsily with live last night and cause mass hysteria nationwide. Playstation five is out November twelfth two days after xbox series. The full version is five hundred dollars. Digital version is four hundred dollars I believe we all got our preorder secured I got a disk version from Amazon. Reason being because I have to play on my special edition Blu rays. Where did everyone else? I know Sam got one from like real need. You got one from Walmart. Target best buy and game stops. Yeah. We we have to kind of outsource extra steps because we capture a lot of game play at work and stuff like that, and so we just need extra systems around. So we we usually do a little bulk order like that, but it'd get a bunch of The digital ones are really hard to get and I think the will want them to. We ran a poll today that said about a thirty percent of people still haven't got the system they wanted to order and a, and a bunch of those people said that they wanted to digital one I thought that was pretty cool but we suspect there's very few out there just. Yeah, the. Data shows us that there's about one percent as many digital editions as there are. One, present. Crazy crazy. This is only based off. We can only see like people that clicked on it and deals links and then bought one, and so there's it's possible that none of our readers in particular with the digital edition. But I, don't think that's the case because because they also they also that in like twenty minutes. So it's this mad rush to appear to the consoles them and the dust had settled. We had sold one hundred times more disk consoles, and so I think that Sony is just making like beyond few of them and this is just my speculation. But like I bet the story is going to emerge as the weeks go on digital edition is like very scarce not very common. The only thing we officially know is that they mentioned or Jim Ryan mentioned in an interview that they were producing more for launch, the PS five, and then they did for the PS four I think that was in response to there was a rumor out there that there would be fewer than there were for the PS four or that there would be production issues. So I think they were trying to just kind of. Pr Their way out of that one. But even even before that Bloomberg report this week Sony itself you know launched its mysterious own direct Priori Program said that orders we're going to be very scarce. People are assuming it's going to be hard to find, and if people are following that, that's still the. Emails about that direct purchase from Sony still like we've Kinda grand through all the retailers that could even have prayers although Justin just got a scoop that targets is put up some more preorder issues now maybe. Somehow watching the show live. Yeah the priorities are such a mess and Sony Sony said like and pre orders open tomorrow, and then Walmart said, no, no preorder is open right now. After Walmart did that then the domino's started to fall a target came online and best buy came online and best buy site. Now, twenty four hours later is still wrecked still can't go to best buy DOT COM like Some of this is some of this is Sony's fault in my opinion for not being more organized and buttoned up on Mike. Here's the date and time for preorder is like everyone just relax. But some of this, also like interest in hype for the PS five is unprecedented like I never seen a console that like as had more prelaunch hype and interest than than the PS five. So I think somebody's retailer websites in downtime and stuff would have happened. No matter what. That's usually the way things go and I'm very curious. What is it for for the xbox series xbox series asked they're going up on September twenty second I believe in the daily gave a time eight am. Did they finally reveal the time Today let's get I. Don't know I. Don't know why at the end of their show yesterday couldn't have said you know good live tomorrow at ten. Right because everybody would have north them well, maybe. Maybe that maybe Walmart so pissed off that they're selling a digital console that they are not going to be able to sell more games for the navy. Editors there. So supply constrained like they're gonNA THEY'RE GONNA sell out in a few minutes. So why like what? What's the jockeying till? I go I like. We want people to ordering from us not our archrival target. It's not like you're going to sell every single PS five you get your hands on. So why make it this big fire drill?
"domino" Discussed on Business Wars
"It's August nineteen, seventy five and in a hotel in Ann. Arbor Michigan Tom Monahan stands at the front of a large conference room. He's wearing a green baseball jacket and has a stop watch in his hand. He peers through his thick framed glasses at the domino's store managers before him on the table in front of each of them are mounds of dove pots of sauce and plastic tubs of cheese and shot mushrooms. Monahan places his thumb over the button on his stopwatch. Okay people it's competition time. Now. I might have mentioned something about delivering pizza and thirty minutes before. The managers, smirk and laugh he sure has in fact. Monahan. Never stops haranguing them about it. The secret to delivering in thirty minutes is in the kitchen it shouldn't take more than thirty seconds to get a pizza ready for the oven thirty seconds. Got It. But I know some of you can do better than that. You want to show me what you can do. Yeah. You're right. I. WanNa. Mushroom Pizza On, my mark three, two, one go. To Room burst into light managers, furiously rollout dough spread sauce layer cheese sprinkle mushrooms in a spiral towards the center of the Pie. A hand shoots up. Monahan checks the stopwatch. Sixteen seconds. We've got a winner. More hands shoot up. From the Stop Watch passes half a minute. Only half a dozen managers are left and they only need seconds more. Monahan leads the applause. Well done well done. Want Domino's to be known for having the Fastest Pizza Hut, Pizza Pizza Fast Pizza. Yes. That's the core of Domino's, and it's why one day. We're going to be bigger than. Pizza. Now I know that sounds crazy. Got Seventy stores they've got something like sixteen hundred but I'm serious. Sure. It won't happen this year even next year. But we can do it and we are going to do it. While Domino's is talking big. Pizza Hut is about to actually get bigger. Since fixing, it's early seventies, financial woes, frank, Carney's taken over from his brothers Pizza Hut CEO and ever since he's been seeking to broaden its horizons. Corny knows that at some point Pizza Hut. Of New markets in the US and when that happens, he knows it'll be harder to maintain the company's stellar growth. To prepare for that day, he tries replicating Pizza Hut's success by dreaming up new fast food concepts like Taco kid restaurants and flaming steer steakhouses. But Pizza Hut's franchisees snubbed the new brands they keep opening new Pizza Hut's rather than gambling on the company's unproven Taco steakhouse chains. Customers shunned the new sidelines to. Unlike the pizzerias with their welcoming decor and layout these latest fast food concepts. Solis ideas cooked up an accompany conference room with little feel for what will work on the ground. So with the plan to spin up more chains of bust. Carney changes direction. And starts looking for a rival. To. Merge, with. Its late nineteen, seventy six and in the Pizza Hut conference room in. We're out of. Options. The board members look glum. They're getting uneasy about the growing threat from a number of regional pizza players like God. Little caesars Domino's. Diversifying into other areas of fast foods seemed like a good defense. But. Then a board member pops up. Frank Den. Pepsico. Sniff around US awhile back. Yeah. But but that was an acquisition approach. I know but. Thank you through. We'd be the only fast food chain within PepsiCo. We become their fast food division and we'd be able to use their resources to by other chains. We could achieve the same aims. Soon after Pizza Hut offers itself to PepsiCo. And Pepsi Pepsico's more than willing to talk. Pepsico Wants Pizza Hut for two reasons. The first is that it'll get pepsico the chance to become a force in the rapidly growing fast food market. The other reason is that by owning Pizza Hut Pepsi Breaks Coca Cola's stranglehold on the Fast Food Soda World After months of Negotiations, Pizza Hut, and PepsiCo settle on a price. Three hundred and fifteen million dollars. It's November nineteen, seventy seven and in Pepsico's headquarters in purchase. New York Pizza Hut's marketing chief, Sam. MOYER's is presenting the chain strategic plan to the snacks and soda giants top brass. It's been less than a week since the buyout and Moyers is determined to impress his new bosses. Silent summary We want to promote our carry out business move, accelerate overseas, grove, and broaden our menu to attract customers from non pizza rivals. Pepsico President. Andrew Pearson rises from his chair and walks to the front of the room. Well. There's a lot of interesting things in there. Stuck Holding Double Badgers
"So a game that me and Tom Played on the Internet of all places just the other day on a service table Topa. Could Renisha. Insisted on calling it repeatedly in a frankly probably slightly racist manner anyway. Is a glorious creation of dominoes and domination featuring animals. The surround little patches of ground how flowers and trees placed on them that eventually popoff. Awarding points the person in control of that area. Now, this is a game by Michael Kiessling and Wolfgang Kramer who you might know Rassoul and our grand. But this isn't the first time they've worked together created the mask trilogy, of Decal, Mexica and cosker. which are all as quince points out in this document I'm reading from. There were lovely. Lovely Gates. Mexico is an absolute delight. So a lot of time for these two when it comes to games way you place lucky things on maps in ways going to irritate other players, which is all I remember was the game in Mexico. Now. This has an immediately striking theme could re nature. You have these dominoes that you're drawing up from when holding three of them in your hand anytime. Each. Domino. As you might expect, has a little image on either side of it and they're all different types of animals, some birds, some badges, some bloody aisles, and I kept drawing double owls, which was a nightmare because there was nowhere for to connect to, and really you are just taking intends to play a domino style game where you have this grid, put them out onto but the placement rules. As you would expect from Domino's you cannot put an owl and up against Abacha and that is illegal as we learned in the story of Adam and Eve. The trickiness is no freefall with this. There is a specific grid that you can follow and as you play, you're going to be slowly surrounding these enclosures and everytime put down domino on the board in one of the enclosed spaces adjacent to it. which is kind of patch of dirt. You may place one of your selection of the light full. Phone Ah. La. Fauna for them foreigner in flora. So you can place like a little bit of grass or you can place like shrubbery. Shrub or you can place like a small tree or you can place a massive trade and there's no cost for place in these things it's just that you have a very limited amount of all of these things. Even a couple of massive trees you got loads of grass up the scoring valleys of these things obviously scale up as you go along and the trick is. The moment at which that soiling closure is fully surrounded by Dominos always surrounded as it is possible for it to be. You'll immediately score that. Who has the largest score of trees and shrubberies and graphics as you're in that area is going to get the big prize bonus with whoever second, getting a lesser known but a big thing. Is No one else? Is there you get the big bonus and the little bonus which means you have the strange game of creeping domino's our across the board. Whilst trying to take control of areas but obviously you're not. You'll never connecting your dominos you're connecting to anyone's domino's so becomes. The game, it reminded me most of that. She was T- GRISSOM Euphrates of it being more than anything a game of of having is everywhere and. Saying the place you should be putting a thing down the thing you should be blocking next
Let It All Crash Down by Briana Harry
"Let it all crush down by Brianna Harry of Ye Mash Dot Com. When I first started practicing tarit and went into it with a ton of false information maybe not a ton. Just one big idea that I thought would apply to all of the cards. They're all literal meaning. If I ever pull a death card I might as well start going through my funeral arrangements think beyond say in Carmen the hip hop era. Thankfully came to find that. This was far from the case that all the cards have more of a metaphorical tie that you can apply to your real life not to say that there aren't any literal elements at all, but it's less likely I thought. Over the years that's come to be one of my favorite things about practicing tarit. How closely mirrors real life tariff for me is just a tool in eating where my intuition is already doing the work. These things come naturally to us. The trick is learning to listen and apply some people think that listening to your intuition means one hundred percent clarity anytime you have a question. No your intuition still requires that you live that you feel your way through it. So it's not always that simple. Is the same tarit. You pull a card, die cars elements to it that could apply to you and you have to take it from there. You find the connection and decide what to do with it. Remember this is what I learned over time at first I did have my share of cars at really scared me to pull death of course, the devil and the ever destructive tower I read about the tower when I read my first book on Tarit. The first book I picked up with someone's personal rendition of their experience with it with that in mind I should have taken it with a grain of salt. She described the tower card as what it certainly is a card that represents rebuilding but in order to rebuild something has to be destroyed while there is a positive element in the idea of rebuilding destroying part really had me shook especially when she spoke on how it connected to her when she first bold it, she described a lot of our worst fears losing jobs and homes and irreparable damage to personal relationships, and she described it as almost a domino effect like she pulled the card and next thing she knew her life began to crumble. I wanted to avoid the tower after all I love my life, my job, my friends my didn't have any romantic relationships but had started growing more hopeful than I ever had been in that area. So for a couple of years, even as I grew to understand how to interpret the cars for myself, I always held a little resistance to ever seen that card. And I didn't for a long while. And then I did my twenty twenty year at a glance spread on New Year's Day. Now, if you've been awake for the bulk of this year, you've probably made the connection already what a show. Why, I can see how that was a projection for the year at large for all of us, it definitely predicted some personal destructing to being furloughed from my job being the biggest thing, but also pulled a card and additional time when asking about the essence of my romantic relationships in twenty twenty. So yeah, that happened. It's funny because I remember thinking the universe for the heads up in declaring that I'll setting myself on a path that wind Crete that destruction that I was told about that is I came to find was not in my control as much as I shifted my mindset and played the part that I always played to be positively present and attract all the good things. This was a lesson I was meant to learn. So everything fell apart I was furloughed for my job of nine years and I really created some issues not only financially but internally madder reckon with WHO I might be without his shop that I've had all of my adult life. I'd also met a guy and he was pretty amazing for the first time in nearly a decade I found myself really being open to being in a real relationship. I began to do the personal work that I didn't even know that I needed in order grow myself as a partner and that was hard. He was uncomfortable being vulnerable but ultimately, I, was glad I had it in me to do most feeling really awful. Then he told me it wasn't going to work out and my was crushed another layer crumbled. This is what the Tower was talking about bombs in the foundation of things that I'd built the comfort I felt at my job, the whales growing into Romantics. All just blew up right before my eyes I felt like I was laying in the rubble nothing of what I built seem to exist anymore and I i. I just sank into these feelings feeling hopeless and lost and like done so much for nothing. In this space in real life, even with all my practice I wasn't thinking about Tarit I wasn't thinking about the tower. So I had to find it in me to remember what has to come next intuitively. So I pick myself up and started to build wants destroyed. All things can be rebuilt they can be rebuilt to be better stronger. I found the space to be more creative without my job. I've been doing things that always existed in my mind but I never thought I'd have time or energy to do I've been growing my personal business never been so proud. As for the Romantics while it's Bare I've learned to not consider it avoid but a place waiting to be filled with possibility it gets lonely but I've never been this optimistic about love of learned so much gain some experience and I feel really good about what's to come.
The Case Of Chad And Lori Daybell
"Dick I feel like we've kind of been just living this case the last several days there's so much that we had to delve into. So let's just start with an overview of the timeline going back to the beginning because it's very complicated and as much for me as for the listeners a little review and a little in-depth investigation into these things would be helpful both helpful the me. We did last week's first part of this and I'm just at the time you do it do the recording. It sounds reasonable. Then as I think back about it, I'm trying to say what happened when who did what? So. This'll be very helpful. It's a crazy thing and of course, with the tragic ending, which is horrible. So. Let's go back to Chad Day Bell. He married his first wife Tammy in nineteen ninety and they had five children together over the years in Nineteen ninety-two Laurie got married for the first time at age eighteen and this marriage only lasted a very short time under a year from what I've heard. Then she remarried in nineteen ninety five and that's when she gave birth to her son Colby in nineteen, ninety six. Again, she got divorced then in two, thousand one, she married Joseph Ruin and Laurie and Joe had their daughter Kylie together in two thousand and two, and just a little bit of a word about Tyler's childhood. We we know that she was used as a pawn by Laurie and her divorce custody filings against Joe Ryan. But there's also some evidence fairly convincing evidence that Laurie mains have had Munchausen by proxy pilot who's in and out of the hospital many times, and she even had exploratory surgery to quote figure out what was wrong unquote and that's something that just. Really isn done nowadays, right? No, it isn't that if we go back a few years that was something I mean if if you have parent who keeps bringing a child into the office bureau for various complaints and you have run tests and nothing ever shows up, you might have considered doing an exploratory bit of surgery as probably a what's called a lap me. Where they look inside the the belly at the F. Domino contents and maybe take biopsies just to see if there was something that they had missed Leah from my experience on a pediatric surgical floor though they only do that when they're like at the end of their rope, this is after days of observing taking the kid off of a regular diet doing. IV fluids run, they do a lot of things I and the munch just love to hang out in the room for days and get the attention. So this is very classic Munchausen by proxy behavior who certainly is yet it really is and no illness was ever determined, which is significant I think road even with the surgery. Yes. So so there you go. Exactly. Nine, two, thousand when Tyler was about six, her therapist raised concerns about the stress Tyler was going through with her health issues and the custody issues. Tally, did say to the therapist that she did enjoy visits with her father. There were documented concerns about Laurie being dishonest on Tyler's intake forms. One of these things whereas where Lori said, the tally had pancreatitis. The custody documents I was able to peruse showed that Kylie did say she enjoyed visits with her father but then she told the therapist that she was frightened to stay overnight because her father molested her now she used the word molested and when her mom came into the room with her and the therapist apparently tie looked at Lori and said I, told her. So it just really I'm not convinced that Joe sexually abused tightly and I'll always believe someone until I have reason not to especially a child but there were some classic signs of the Mother Coaching her. So in two thousand, four, Laurean Joe were divorced and Laurie remarried Charles Valo in two, thousand six. Now for those of you who are counting Charles's husband number four. Yes, and in two thousand, twelve, a little boy named Joshua. Jackson was born he's he's the biological child of Charles Valez nephew his grandparents cared for jj until they made the decision along with Lori and. Charles that Lori Charles would adopt and raise JJ, and this was back in two thousand fourteen. Laurie already had colby and entirely. So the grandparents K. and Larry Woodcock were really thinking that they might have a better home there because there'd be other kids. It's kind of their little bit younger than Larry and K. so laurie who they thought was just a wonderful mom. At, the time agreed to adopt the little boy with Charles and then Laurie Charles entirely moved to Hawaii along with JJ services in two thousand fourteen when the adoption went through the options gone through and we've Kurt the family now lorries. Oldest son is what out of the house at this point because he's like eighteen nineteen, he didn't move to Hawaii with them now. He didn't in two thousand fifteen back to Chad, Tammy and the family moved to Idaho from Utah Right, in two years later, the veil of family moved back to Arizona, from Hawaii then on April third two, thousand, eighteen lorries, ex husband, her third husband Joseph Ryan was found dead in his home Laurie was notified as she was still listed as his next of kin. Didn't notify Joe's sister Anne who by all accounts she was very close to Anne was still a part of tiles life, your birth Maurice to ruin agenda Yes. I know we've talked about this a little bit in part one, but you did get a chance to review the autopsy. They were a few things that stuck out to us like the fact that the height was off and they call them a heavyset guy which he really wasn't. No. But remember he was in his apartment for at least a week decomposing before anyone found was a neighbor who found him that's correct. Yes and we don't have the entire autopsy but the cause of death was per tiriac sclerotic heart disease, which means that you're coronary arteries getting clogged up, which isn't really crazy for a fifty nine year old man to die of in general but
Pepperoni Pizza (MM #3454)
"The Maison with Kevin Nation I talked about some of the products that are difficult to find in stores on shelves. Thanks to covid-19. Some of them makes sense. Sure cleaning supplies soap paper towels makes sense. But there are also some things that kind of strange like just found out recently that pepperoni is going to be hard to find. How do I say it's a planned shortages most is and the reason there's going to be a shortage because pepperoni is so less cost-effective to make meaning there's not a high-margin for pepperoni manufacturers. They're going to spend their time and their efforts manufacturing other things to make more money and Pepperoni Lover's are going to have suffer for how long Nobody Knows the right now you should have no problem finding pepperoni the good news. If you're a pepperoni pizza fan, which is the most popular pizza topping places, like Domino's and Papa John's aren't going to get as much of a problem finding pepperoni because they've got long-standing contracts with these manufacturers. So they're going to get the pepperoni first. You can't win for losing sometimes but not having pepperoni on Pizza. I can't imagine how many people going to be upset about that dead.
The Interactive Web with Speak2Web & Outgrow
"A really interesting because we both got. Similar kind of products, but quite distinct differences as well. so that'd be fantastic tiny the show to talk about this general topic of website marketing through conversation interaction making websites interactive. So maybe we could start with to Jason, can you give us a brief Intro to company does? Who's full topic clients? He says I now what the typical problems you help themselves. Yes, absolutely. So Carl, when we had formed speak to Ab we initially thought you know this is a great piece of marketing technology for websites. But what we've also learned is that it's very powerful tool to combat accessibility compliance lawsuits. So speak to delivers voice tech solutions for websites and we want to help clients become accessibility compliant while optimizing the customer experience for everyone. Interested. That was a straightaway and that something I didn't expect accessibility losses. The company left field. So it's not really one of the major features of the product that was the reason behind the. Size I use case that you've discovered is really helpful to your clients having built the solution. That's something. That we initially had ideas around but if really. Discovered in the more recent months especially following. A major case recently where Domino's pizza. Took a case all the way up to the Supreme Court in the case Robles versus Domino's Mr. is a blind man unable to order a pizza on their website or mobile APP and. A conversational voice assistant would have. Enabled him to use their website or their mobile APP. In a very similar way to if he had just called the store and made the website accessible to him. Okay right. So it's becoming a need. It's not just a nice to have friends. Maybe you could describe what to does on the nuts and bolts level then sounds like it's a plug in for a website or it can be integrated directly I would allow. Has just to do. Yes. So besides the. Accessibility compliance factor. We're helping people to deploy agents that act as personal shopping assistance concierges, and even tech support agents that reduce the level of tier one tier two requests that support teams historically had to read through and respond to you. So the problems were solving our you know optimizing customer experience increasing revenue and help businesses to reduce costs, and we're doing this for any scale of business in a whether it's a simple just adding voice search or delivering those conversational virtual agents that are even integrated into their technology stack. We have something that any size business can deploy afford. Very interesting yeah. It sounds like you've got a number of different use cases the you'll solving that it'd be great to dig into some of those in a moment. Do you have a case study that you can just briefly mention? Is there a particular company will just a type of company that you typically help? Yes absolutely. So in terms of dropping names, all of our corporate clients have strict policies, corporate policies of in nondisclosure by Swertz really looking at on the high end, the e commerce businesses to deliver voice shopping and customer support agents that. People can use to place orders to get answers to you their order in product questions and help those companies, increased sales and lower the cost of support. Optimizing customer experience by delivering people, instant answers and faster time to discovery.
What helps morning anxiety
"This week were talking about how to calm morning anxiety as many a lesser facing returning to work or have children who are returning to school or heading off to. College. High Nanga. How are you today Haitian? I'm good. Thank you. So good to be with you again to talk about a subject that we really haven't addressed in quite some time, but we're getting a lot of questions about. So let's dive right into how we can help ourselves when we suffer with morning and diabetes when I suffered with anxiety my youth late teens early twenties morning anxiety became. A. Real thing for me. It was very debilitating and I would wake up every morning feeling. Extremely. Shaky and nauseous and found it really hard to step into my day. What are some of the symptoms of morning anxiety? Symptoms of winning Zaire often the same as the symptoms of general anxiety in my experience with the addition of nausea and loss of appetite. That's particularly common with morning anxiety. But otherwise, the usual symptoms, rapid heartbeat, tight chest, shortness of breath physical tension, muscle tension, the body, a strong feelings of anxiety or sense of dread about facing the day ahead and feeling confused mentally overwhelmed like everything's just too much to face. And thankfully, and we have lots of suggestions for how to make that better. But before we go there, let's talk about some of the causes of morning anxiety. It's usually caused by the same factors also contribute to Jim rulings anxiety combined with that stress an overwhelm of facing a new day, and then also there's the natural increase in stress hormones that can happen for us first thing in the morning. I remember. Being much more anxious when I had a workplace that I traveled to than than, I, do now having my own business. Everything that needed to be done before going and then becoming a mom and. Adding in caring for my daughter and getting ready and getting off to work and all of the things that come at us we have so many things that we juggle. So it's no wonder that we can have these feelings of discomfort in the morning. It's other things that can also cause issues in the morning. Low Blood Sugar If you drink alcohol the night before. The anticipatory anxiety can come sometimes before a big day at work or Big Day at school in the negative self-talk those gremlins and our brain can get assault up and then of course, negative news and TV. Film anything that's coming through your screens that is agitating. All contribute. And then this, the fact that the transition from being asleep to being awake is quite a strong transition for the body certainly for somebody that's suffering with anxiety we go from you know being not really conscious of what's going on around us too often. Waking up with an alarm clock or a sudden jolt and kind of sitting out and thinking Oh this is what I have to deal with I. If you're already suffering anxiety that stuff can really hit you in domino effect unruly stack up course strong stress response strong anxiety response in the body. The good news is this is something that can be very much supported unchanged. I think that alarm clocks are really. Not. Okay. Yeah me too truly. I'm grateful for the alarm clocks that play soothing music or wound do something that will help you transition from sleep to being awake Ursus loud buzzers and and things that jolt you away. They just 'cause a sense of anxiety on hearing them, which is why so many people throw them across the room or hit snooze if there's a way that you can figure out how to get up without that jolt with a little bit more softness and sweetness.

NBA Players, Owners Meet To Discuss Plan Of Action
"Get back on track WHOA Jeez here. Thankfully to tell us what might happen here. Obviously, it's a fluid situation Adrian. I. Guess. The first thing we want to ask you is, what are we expecting today like what is going to happen today meeting Liz I have no idea what's going to happen today guys yesterday was. A remarkable day and one that I don't think any of us who cover the NBA. WHO Who've covered sports and and in my generation Bo forget but to set the table for today. The players having eleven am meeting here in the bubble. And the owners have a board of governors call at the same time. I'm pulled eleven am obviously that'll be done virtually and so simultaneously, those two groups we'll be meeting and the players. I think after a night, it was an emotional day. It was an emotional meeting they had. With most of the players in the bubble coaches were there last night there came a point where? The players asked the coaches to leave so they could hash it out amongst themselves. The teams I was told broke up into groups. and then they're going to continue that conversation this morning but I mean what's at stake is simply This season and are the players as a group going to decide to move forward. Continue the playoffs by all indications that the three games that are scheduled today. Not. Going to be played, the League hadn't officially. announced it but every indication we got in the last night regardless of what they decide moving forward that those three games later in the day. Wouldn't be played, but the players have more to work through and talk through. And consider a lot of different. Consider a lot of different scenarios. And and ultimately consequences of what it would mean to shut this bubble down. You're there in the bubble woes and you could get and I just WanNa know like what is what's the feeling is like does feel like NAM empty and just spooky and? What's that feeling like? I. Think the last several days keyshawn. and. You could feel a building you could watch on I think you guys could watch. On television and and read what people are saying and see. The interviews with George Hill and Fred Van Vliet. and. The emotion that players were carrying. Since the shooting of Jacob Blake earlier. In the week. And how that resonated not just all over the country. But here. and. On top of the emotion and Guys have been here a long time and it wears on you and guys miss families guys feel. At times like their captive in this place it I get it. It's a resort like I. Don't mean to. It is a resort and I get it and. All of us are lucky to be able to work. In, this country right now and a lot of people can't but there is a cumulative effect about being away this long. And you add on top of that. the horrific nature of that shooting. Another in a series of them in years of decades. Of them a century of them and so. data impacted this place at impacted those inside. And It was a domino effect yesterday of once. The bucks made the decision to knock him out of the locker room and not play. And then how it impacted the other teams and lead to that meeting last night that was pretty rot times. The to La teams the LA clippers. The Lakers have two of the hour say most powerful voices in professional sports in Genie Boston. Steve, bomber what type of influence can they have on the rest of the NBA owners to get something done in favor of the players? It's a good question I think the question is. And I think what the players Were spending last night doing. And and previously, it's been an ongoing conversation here. But is there something and and I and I know in the meeting last I a lot of players. Disgusted I know CJ mccollum was who's an executive on the players committee or on the on the Executive Committee of the Players Association. mccomb the Blazers Jaylen Brown the Celtics war leaders. in the Union and top players in league talked about having a plan of action and the bucks in the locker. Room. In those hours after that they after they decided not to play. Working with their own ownership in Milwaukee to get on the phone the Attorney General of the Lieutenant Governor in Wisconsin to talk about ways to move forward. To try to impact. that. Particular case. In in their state in Kenosha. And so you saw players already beginning to do that yesterday now. How does that continue today? What what players are asking themselves I know what organizations are asking players when they got back to the rooms. Last my back to the hotels. What is the endgame if we don't play? One is that what is it that we wanNA accomplish outside of the bubble outside of this environment outside of the platform that you have right now to play. play NBA Games and speak to the world through. Through this. What does that look like and so I think that's all going to be part of the conversation today with the players and with the owners if they kinda reconnect after those two meetings.

California couple forced to cancel wedding amid pandemic has registry paid for by Domino's Pizza
"It was paid for Bye. Domino's pizza. What's this story all about this kind of story. Domino's pizza on Dure registry. Ah, no, I need some more here need a little bit more more action on the North Ridge Couple forced to cancel their wedding due to the pandemic gets an unexpected gift from Domino's pizza. Both lost their jobs during the covert shutdown and experienced multiple deaths among family and friends. And that's when dominoes stepped in. Eyewitness news reporter Mark Quota Roadless has the story. Soon to be C. J and Danica Laci. Like many engaged couples had big plans in 2020 in January. February, we books basically, All of our vendors are on top of it. We've got everything we're set that save that for the wedding night, But all of our vendors were on top of it. We've got everything we're set. That was long before covert. 19 up ended everything. We will lost our jobs. So you know it was that what if a guy I'm sure this has happened? Where their weddings being planned. I got the flowers I got the the invites are out there everything set and then the pandemic hits, and I bet you anything the guy sits her down and goes. You know what I just think this sign. I just don't. I don't know, I think you know. I think we're lucky that this pandemic hit and maybe we should see. You know, we can't see each other. I during this pandemic? No, it's just not working out, Sam and I'm sure a guy a CZ used the pandemic to get out. I'm positive that happen certainly less of someone. Oh, yeah, absolutely horrible, sinking feeling of Oh, gosh. Is it going to be ableto happen Because of the pandemic? CJ and Danny have postponed their big day. Who is the girl C J or Danny? Could be Danny, right? CJ? I think because of the pandemic, CJ and Danny have postponed their big day. While it's a big disappointment. They recently received an even bigger surprise. Danny saw a sponsored Facebook ad that Domino's pizza was offering pizza theme to registries for couples who had postponed their ceremonies. Great 40 bucks a piece, though. That's pretty nice. You know, we're so CJ is the guy Danny saw? No, Danny is the guy, okay? He's very great. 40 bucks something, so that's pretty nice way like pizza doesn't like pizza. And so that was like, score free pizza. Wait a minute. What was I e mean? That's this whole story is over two pizzas. Yeah, $40 where the pizza is Maybe three. For although dominance could be 12 very great 40 bucks and things. So that's pretty nice way like pizza doesn't like pizza. And so that was like, score free pizza laughing it off. Not thinking much of it. It was weeks later when Danny got an email. Oh, I see he registered For the free pizza, and then they pick them as a couple to pay for everything. I think that's where we're going. Are you seeing what I'm seeing all of their registries for being paid for by dominos for 1000 dollarsworth and the boxes are still coming. We kind of just put stuff on it. As like. Oh, we wish we had $1000 couch on their way. Didn't expect anyone to buy us $1000 couch. Why'd you put on there Then? While 2020 has been unpredictable and stressful, you know? Can you see the registry like if somebody registers, Can you see everything on it? I think you can't write. Oh, yeah, I think so. Yeah. So somebody saw that they put $1000 couch on it. I don't like that. If I saw it. I was going to a wedding. A young couple, Their twenties like, 2122 23 they put down $1000 couch on the registry. E. I don't know. It doesn't sound right. Thiss Act of kindness has brought some light into their lives. They didn't have to do that. You know, they're a big company that could have just spent that money on marketing and they didn't ask us to talk to anybody. They didn't ask us to post on social media. They just did it. Now they're left to enjoy their gifts. And look forward to their new wedding date in October 2021. As far as we're concerned, we're like already married. We feel like we are so it's like it's just gonna be. It's all about having a party and celebrating. There you go. $1000 couch. S o. Domino's is smart. Because now you know they got all this free publicity Ryan, you know, instead of and Donald Donald Donald was really smart if Domino said, Hey, please post on your social media. People would see through that. Okay, It's a ploy to get more eyes be very careful not to make it look like that. And then if you don't make it look like that, If you know if they just want to naturally talk to the press or posted themselves, that's how you get great publicity. So somebody Domino's is really, really smart and doing that, all right? We'll take a short break for life on camera and 40 more
‘Open Restaurants’ Program To Return To New York City Next Summer
"City folks may want to get used to seeing and walking around all the new outdoor table seating on sidewalks and curbside spaces in the summer because Mayor Bill de Blasio says the Open streets open restaurants program will be back next June. And there's more we're going to look at. Whether we can go farther this year. That's still an open question. There is really important for the restaurant tours and everyone in that industry and everyone communities to know it's coming back next year so they can plan and and it's been extraordinary success. We're going to see how far we can take it. Hey says over 9500 restaurants of apply for permits to set up tables for dining on sidewalks in those curbside parking spaces during this Corona virus pandemic and you know, it's probably because they want to make some money, and they've been having a problem with that as proof in a new poll. To find 83% of New York City restaurants and bars say they cannot make their full rent payments for July. 37% of those polled by the hospitality alliance say Can't pay anything at all. You know. Only 1/4 of them are in talks with the landlord to try and re negotiate work something out. But the alliance they report, they say most landlords are also struggling financially and Domino effect here. The alliance is warning a lot of restaurants and bars. We'll have to close permanently. If they do not get some help and quick, you have 60 restaurants and bars lost in liquor licenses after being caught with Too many customers or serving alcohol without food or other factors along those lines.
"domino" Discussed on First Take
"Thank me later. Good morning and welcome into I tape. We begin with the breaking news. The International Olympic Committee has officially postponed the twenty twenty Tokyo Olympic Games. Pushing THEM BACK to the summer of. Twenty twenty one. The Japanese prime minister said that he and the President agreed on the postponement. Saying quote. We have to think about the current outbreak of the corona virus and quote. The Tokyo Games are scheduled to be held from July. Twenty fourth to August ninth on that note. We bring in our Jeremy Schaap who has covered many Olympic Games. Eight to be exact he's Wrote a book about the Games in Berlin. Jeremy Great to have you with us this morning. Thanks for having me. Jerry would love to have your perspective on this. Tell me to your initial reaction here on the postponement. Well it was inevitable right. I mean the IOC set a couple of days ago that it was going to take up to four weeks to announce this decision but so much pressure was mounting in just the last thirty six hours National Olympic Committees Canada Australia. The United States others as well saying even if they held the Games in Tokyo this summer they were not going to send their athletes. They probably weren't going to send their athletes international track and field organizations well other national governing bodies. It was becoming an untenable position but the I. O. C. which is typical bid takes. Its time with these things. Perhaps it took a little bit too much time when we're talking about this. Because there were athletes out there who are saying they were not gonNA participate. They resented being in this kind of limbo at a time when the Olympics were going to take place would have to be training. Perhaps it unsafe conditions in many parts of the world were social. Distancing is now the norm if not the law. This was going to happen. It was inevitable. There would be a postponement. The I just needed a push the last couple of days. Jeremy appreciate you being on the show as always buddy thank you so much. Let me ask you this question for those out there that will wondering what the Hell took the Olympics Committee so long to make this decision? Could you explain to our audience what that was because when you consider the fact that social distancing obviously became a priority because of the corona virus not only that drug testing and how that would've been compromised. And what have you? It seemed like this should have been a much easier. Decision that was made much earlier explained the delay. Well remember the. You're right but this is the way the IOC has typically always worked its inclination. It's in its. Dna is for the Games to go on. That is what has always happened with the exceptions of World Wars One and two when the Games were cancelled in one thousand nine sixteen thousand nine hundred forty one thousand nine hundred forty four and so they knew the pressure is building. They made an announcement not that long ago. Several weeks ago while this crisis was already ramping up enraging in some parts of the world that they would not cancel or postpone the Olympics. Of course like many other organizations like many other sports bodies they had to backtrack from that and they had to assess the situation as it is rather than the way they want it to be in once. You had Canada and Australia and the US saying all right. Thomas Bach can have your Olympics in Tokyo this summer. But we're not sending our athletes who are up in arms about this who do not WanNa be in a position right now where they have to think about training and they have to think about how would that even work in so many sports. You can't train in isolation which is what so many people millions upon millions of people have to do right now so they got the push they got the message they relented and of course you know. Shinzo obey. The Prime Minister of Japan doesn't want thousands upon thousands of people coming to Japan this summer and perhaps spreading the virus perhaps catching it among themselves and going home to other places in continuing to spread it so the risks were too great but as they often do as they figure out the financial implications and so forth and consult with their sponsors and with their rights holding partners. It took some more time. So Joe me. I guess the disconnect for me when I hear this a lot of people talk about tone deafness it was mark. Emmer at the same thing with the but there's a difference between tone deafness and simple logical progression of thought in other words. Whatever your short term financial interests are any child who explain this to would see that. As soon as it's explained in simple terms well then that will have to be cancelled so it occurs to me that it's simply people.

Forward all the time you see moving forward idea after idea for And I've been executing on this on this side and this book and this thing and we're we're moving fascinating I think that's that's good especially when you're getting started. I think it's good to be trying testing a lot of things until you kind of identify what your thing is and and really figure it out but something that has been interesting over the last couple of months. I've been writing these books doing these things One thought he's coming back up. It's like you know I knew a lot of things that incrementally tremendously helping to grow the company but I was like is there is there a thing is a big thing if we were to do it or execute on or knock this domino down that would that would shortcut cut US five years or ten years or more and gets there faster and it's funny because I thought I was thinking about that like there was not like a fun like like this. This is the final little ten x closes the funnel that will speed up the time. This is the book I need that and so I I I was like I guess. There's not there's nothing I can do shave off ten years of of our success you know ten years You know further down line faster and and and so while we thought it wasn't possible because we're looking through the lens that we normally look through them so because that we weren't able to see that but then looking lenses and different people's perspectives and people people that are smarter than me and people that have done things in industries and looking at that and started looking all of a sudden it became apparent that there are a couple of paths that would literally take off a decade of growth. We get where we would take ten years going the direction and the right now you can get there within a year from now and I like that can't be possible doesn't make any sense but because we should ask that question looking through different lenses outside of our own perspective started opening up all these opportunities I Disney's whole all new world of of things that are possible so I'm not able yet to tell you what the answer was for me and that shouldn't matter because the answer is probably going to be different but you will see it play out over the next twelve months of my life and life of quick funnels and you'll be like. Oh my gosh that was Russell shows. That's interesting that is how short you're cutting a decade get an ear. And so you'll see you'll see the strategically that we're making. They're exciting. They're fun and they're they're awesome and I'm sure we'll talk about it as the pieces. Come Out I'm able to share more. But more so when he has to start thinking about that my guess is when you start thinking like what can I do right now. That's going to propel my business for a decade in next next year. You probably GonNa see it right away just going to be hard for you to you because I think given the tools you have the answers. Aren't there for me. Give them the tools like what's the next fun and what's the next book was actually the thing the answer was there it was it was me keeping continuing to ask. That question is and the people who have different frame remove reference to different Lens that opened up these possibilities to me and to us as a as a team at click funnels and so encourage Aslam questioned an and then started looking for the answer. 'cause they're somewhere it's not within your immediate ability to execute on it but is there somewhere she started looking for. And if you if you search for my guess is you're going to find it so anyway that's the thing. What's the begun? No what's the big nominal for you guys this year that's going to propel you for a decade Think about about that and then watches we execute on ours. I'm excited I'm so grateful for all you guys and the fact that you listen to this podcast fact use our software. "Just linear up until now but by that point maybe you've amassed a bit more financial flexibility you've got some margins some financial margin you've got some cash in the bank and when you now look at what your potential domino's are you see this one domino that if he had only had a bit more money to invest in this stepper this tool you could really go after that bigger domino and lo and behold you do it another example would be when you've had knocked down ten domino's and you've shown that kind of success that kind of discipline the other people in your life whether it's uh coworkers people that work for work fort report to you um peers vendors partners uh you start to earn greater respect and they're more likely to help you will on your way there less likely to resist which you trying to do so you've essentially lubricated the uh the path to the results that you want you kind of like a you've greased these domino so they actually go down easier and you can take down a bigger when easier so uh gary points out in this chapter what starts out linear becomes geometric or becomes exponential he just do the right thing and then you do the next rate thing in overtime adds up and the geometric potential of the success this is unleashed and so if there's one thing you take away from his chapter it's that success is built sequentially it's one thing at a time so we need to stop trying to do ten things at once are five things at once or even two things at once multitasking is a dangerous trap we think that we are okay at doing two things at once but actually were only giving our attention any uh at wet to one thing at a time and the other uh thing is actually suffering and the overall effect is suffering and other people can see that you're not uh you don't really have your head fully in the game and you're that you're not really um uh putting all of your intelligence in fact you tend to come across as less intelligence because you're not really with the conversation so focus on one thing at a time and let success be built sequentially now i want to give you a few signs vase tips from another book that i have been very npr.

"Great uh which i mean they you know they do have very positive reviews and the app store and what not so it certainly does work rate it sounds like for the majority of people but there are just lots of instances where um it's just sort of but very confusing for people especially some of the things that happen like you know getting a notification that you've picked up your pizza when you're sitting on your couch you're like no how did that happen and give some examples is interesting yeah so um i mean one of the funniest examples was a guy who had been ordering domino's for years and he had he had a friend of his who worked there and um he ordered a pizza and this time it happened to be his friend who was delivering it and he got a notification on his phone that melinda had delivered as pizza and of course this was like i'm a male friend of his and so he turned him and he was like you know he's like hey belinda and the guy was like what are you talking about so those kinds of things can be confusing and then also like the one of the biggest air most frequent ones that i saw in terms of complaints was the app notifying you the your pizza had been delivered when it hadn't been and the funniest part about this is like dominos will send you a notification that says you know hope you're in during your pizza nam nam nam with like a pizza boji in it's you know it's very cute but it's all a like i eyesight tweets of people being like i feel like the app is taunting me like i don't have my pc at why are you telling me that i'm enjoying may pizza all right now backing up a little bit katie domino's pizzas had an online tracker for almost a decade right yes and this goes back to like two thousand eight of course.

"Pizza this is tech news briefing from the wall street journal you've heard it a million times location location location well that's because locations important and if the reason this ad targeted at eu is located before a podcast about the history of ice dancing if you own a business you know the importance of location which is why you need a realtor a member of the national association of realtors are real estate expert who can help you find the perfect location to grow so get what your business needs get realtor thanks for listening everyone domino's pizza has a smartphone tracking at that gives users are realtime rundown of the progress of their pizza from production to delivery it's similar to buying something on amazoncom and following the progress of your package from one warehouse to the next but there are indications that the updates that domino's pizza sends its customers are a bit short on accuracy let's talk with someone who's been tracking the tracking app from domino's wall street journal personal tech reporter katie dimly katie i like the way your article mentioned how customers could monitor their pizza from doe to door that's very very good i guess the key point of the story is details matter and if customers find that they're getting incorrect information from domino's tracking app they get upset they do yeah i am i definitely found that with the people that i talk to an they they found a disconcerting to have the app not match up with reality in some cases they they they felt like lied to fire like cheated and whatnot um so that was not something that customers enjoyed feeling at all will the i guess they have high expectations for some technological device like this which is really sort of state of the art or the latest generation of an of a dozen measure up they do get upset well one of the points that a couple of people made that i spoke with was that um you know they they're they're point was like we didn't ask for this this was something that the company introduced so if you're going to introduce this to make you know us fell more connected to you and to offer this like added level of service uh can you make it work.

"Zero belongs in that set the set defined by the definition this is induction basically this is how induction as defined in terms of the natural numbers so let me read that for every set of natural numbers so every thing the do do not numbers because like for example the odd numbers don't have every natural number them right yeah is one 357 cetera if zero is in the sat so we know that zeroes in the settlements the first thing we prove imagines is domino's zero is the first domino we toppled out one and if for any natural number so some domino down the road its existence in the sat so we know this is part of the sat guarantees his successor's existence of the sat so this domino falls in inox next one over than all natural numbers belong to set all domino's fall so if domino's push down domino's and he pushed on the first domino all domino's fall rightthigh makes perfect sense is this is basically saying that a number will build on itself into the next number yeah and ord these exist the set it implies the existence of next one souvenir not be proven with the other axioms so the mere existence of number proves the existence of a successor in this set in this set so for example zero times two zero and zero is even right right a hundred times to his two hundred two hundred is even right right two hundred plus two is two hundred into right right and that's an excellent up since two hundred two equals under bliss the under one times to and a hundred guaranteed the existence of one hundred one in the times to eagles even set then we know that any natural number times to is even.
