I was just like that's a neat way to tell a story and now i'm like this is sort of my life because i have no idea you know what came out of my mouth at the beginning of this episode. I don't know. Did i say that. The mike mccarthy was going to get fired at the end of the year. I don't know what i said and it's a little scary so i'm going to have to start just taking notes a little bit. He's one of those where you see him, and then he takes the scene. Any time Omar was on screen in the wire. You're like something Something's happening, and it's probably not good. Yeah, I read a story just last night about Michael K. Williams. When he got hired to be on the wire. He never handled a gun before in his life. He had no experience like dance experience. And they had him a shotgun and he was supposed to, like, shoot it and then reload and shoot in the scene, he goes. How would I reload the shotgun and he had to walk him through Like the prop masters. He went back room with some Gun person prop master for two hours and David Simon. The guy from the wire came when he said When he came out. He was like a different person. In two hours. He had mastered it and came out like a gun Slinger. Really cool story. The thing that strikes you the most about the wire, and I know there are people who talk about the wire and and in glowing terms and rightfully so. But what struck me when I was watching it. I honestly got the feeling I was watching, like closed circuit TV on the projects in Baltimore, where this was all going on, like I wasn't supposed to be seeing this. The way it was shot. How it was shot, The feeling that gave you the lingo that was there. "Our labor with a day off back tomorrow on my talk one. Oh 71. Oh, my gosh! Little royal music. Yes, well, yesterday of this made me so happy The crown gave us our first look at the new Princess Diana. And Prince Charles for season five. And it's of course, Dominic West is playing Charles and Elizabeth. Did. Becky is playing Diana? Yeah, we posted it. Take a look at them. They They look amazing. But the thing that was making me so happy yesterday was thinking about Prince Charles. Seeing that everyone thinks that Dominic West is too hot to play him and that they made Prince Charles with a little attractive. But also, you know, really thought I kind of thought back in the day that he was not bad looking because he had royal de we exactly. That's right, Mary Princess Diana and we went around in a kilt and Yeah, yeah. No, I'm not just hot. I mean, hot in a hot because he was royal. That was it. You otherwise you know, because he he was right. He was right. That's yes, basically Ladder and don Dominic West. People were also yelling at him. And I'm like, Hey, this dude has proven his chops to port poetry. Prince Charles. He was Skuta ring and canoodling with Lily James in Rome, and then he staged a press conference outside of his wife's castle. Saying Our marriage is strong and fine. Do you know what I mean? "And i thought some of the emotional scenes with with with her mother and with with kate winslet and jean smart that that was a phenomenal scene with the daughter there and i thought that julianne nicholson was phenomenal in the in the finale. I thought she was really good. I here's what they're all trying to do. What and they can't do it because it may not be possible. They're all trying to recreate true. Detective season one true and it can't be done. That was too dark but that was so good. It was good is television. I've ever seen well. You know what tommy. I think that. There's the possibility that we get now. Look at the difference with true. Detective is you got new people that came in to the seasons. You couldn't do that with this but you could have a new seven seven episode season with this with with a new case with. I don't know that you're going to get the. I mean i don't know i don't think so that that's what they're all trying to do. And you know the night you the night off. I love the night. But i couldn't stand the finale of the night of i thought they miss the mark. Did you like tonight up. I forget i thought it was okay. It's okay yeah. I thought i thought turturro was phenomenal as he is everything but i. I hated the finale of that show. I thought that they completely missed it. On the finale of that show. And i the other night i was actually prepared for not to be good and for to be a reach in rushed as it often is in these things. I don't know manic. When it was over i was like. Wow that was great television and look. I'm not an expert. When it comes to acting. But i i can identify great when i see it and i thought kate winslet and julianne. Nicholson and jean. Smart were believable in this series. Okay you know. Part of the allure of kate winslet's was her taking over this philadelphia persona. You know personality and the accent and all that you want to seek greatness adipose because she's british okay. You want to see greatness out of a british actor watch the british actor dominic west. Who play baltimore's jimmy mcnulty in the uae. I know where everybody says. They nailed it in the leave. That to me is far more study than kate. Winslet's turn as the philly based philly suburban detective. I'm not gonna. I watched it. I enjoyed it. I just didn't think it was great television. It's not gonna be on my shortlist of the greatest you know one season Shows ever. I just really enjoyed it. And i enjoyed. I thought that the three women in particular were outstanding. Now with that said. And i told you this after the first episode because it's kate winslet and we know that she's a brit. I don't think she ever did nail. You know the the delaware south jersey philadelphia thing. I don't think any of them really did for for the most part. I mean you know you have relatives. I have relatives. We have friends. And i know what it sounds like. And it wasn't a great rendition of it. I think it had been somebody that we didn't know it would have. It would i. It wouldn't have been as jarring to me But i but her character was great I thought she just thought she was great. I think she's great and a lot of things Anyway what else behalf. You didn't play. Ruth Wilson quit The Affair because she 'didn't feel safe'
"To talk about Dominic West. But by way of Ruth Wilson and I know you're saying to yourself self. Who are these people? These people? So Ruth Wilson, you were may remember from Showtime's the affair. Now I guess back and I did not watch the show. I have not watched the show. I apologize. But apparently back in 2018. Her character was randomly spoiler alert. She left the show. I'll just put it that way. And apparently, there were some rumors that she left the show at the time. Due to some pay disparity between her and Dominic West. She eventually told The New York Times that that was not true, but she otherwise quote and I'm quoting Perez Hilton now kept mum on the subject. Except to say, quote. There is a much bigger story. Well, apparently this week she's talking more about that story. She didn't interview with stylist Is that like a magazine about stylist? Probably. I mean, you hope, a fashion magazine for sure, she said, Quote. The reason I haven't gone into the affair meaning like what happened there. Is that I haven't worked out how to discuss it. There's a lot of noise and anger surrounding it. And really, the power rests with me to choose how I discuss my life, and my experience is what's important to say is that I did speak up. I did have a voice. I did stand up for myself. There was a situation on the affair where things didn't feel right. And I dealt with them and I managed to protect myself. Well, that That's kind of a shocking statement. Yeah, and this goes back to a story that made headlines at the end of last year, where there were accusations that the show run around the affair. Was running a hostile work environment. Didn't did this person leave or there was some sort of all happened at the time because I vaguely remember. Well, the parent when Ruth Wilson left, it was shocking and one of the things um the reasons why she left is because there were issues with nudity on the set. They're issues. I believe, with some of the sex scenes that were happening at at the lead of the show Runner and one of the show's executive producer, So it was just it was just a gross situation for Ruth Wilson, allegedly and since he left so when she In this most recent interview when she talked about it again. She didn't give a ton of specifics. But again, she does say that she, you know, spoke up at the time and that she defended herself and that she dealt with it or that the issue was dealt with. According to Let's see, Um I don't know if this from the same interview quote it was before me, too. It was before Harvey Weinstein. And yet my instincts were very clear and strong about what I felt was wrong. What was going on What I didn't feel safe about And that refers. I'm assuming to the piece you just ah, red or shared about the nudity that there was a lot of nudity requested of the actresses in a way that did not make her feel comfortable right and saying that there was a much bigger story on the set of the affair, the Hollywood reporter did it. A feature on Ruth Wilson last year and so just to put it into context, a little bit of a timeline she left in 2018. Ruth Wilson left the affair in 28 team, and she was saying that she brought up these issues, you know, like you, said Bradley before me, to which I would say the fall of 2017 is when that really kicked off with the Harvey Weinstein story. Being published in The New Yorker in The New York Times. Allegedly there was an unreported 2017 investigation by Showtime's parent company, CBS into Ruth Wilson's accusations about what was happening on the affair. And that she is restrained by a non disclosure agreement, which is why she's kind of talking around this issue. What I did find interesting is I think this comes also from that 2019 Hollywood reporter piece. In one surprising twist of the tale, the show's executive producer and director, Jeffrey Reiner, was said to have asked Lena Dunham and a dinner party. To persuade Wilson to quote Show her bleeps or at least show some bleep. Yeah. Or bleeps being the upper experience and her bleep being the lower experience meaning like, Can you just get her to show some bleeps? Which this is why I'm so glad that we had the meet to movement. Sure, women everywhere, like Yeah, thanks for showing up bread, But we've talked about this at length It sound like I'm just arriving at this, but To just think about the reality of what women had to deal with, and probably still do to a certain extent, you know, although I would hope post me too less. In Ah, smaller capacity. Just the like. Overt use of their sexuality or bodies in a way that, like other people wouldn't give a second thought to but are now having to question like. Is this a good use of nudity? Is this something we would request of our male co stars? Where it just seemed like women's bodies were. It's just a given. That at some point you should show your breasts or be naked in a you know a scene If you're doing a dramatic role, for example, writer at the very least, the probability if you're female body, somebody who's going to ask you to get nude whether or not you do. It is a whole other thing. But the proposition of having to do that, in order to fulfill some dramatic obligation is just like the probability is high. Wass. What I also think is interesting is here we have again a person connected to Dominic West. And, Ah, this is a story that I feel like we're going to continue to hear about not necessarily The story of Ruth Wilson. But the story of Dominic West And maybe not specifically as as concerns the affair but thie actual affair that Dominic West had with Lily James. And you've got to believe that Lily James was not the first woman that Dominic West had an affair with

"Kelly. Clarkson. Is Definitely not afraid of a challenge last year she had to get her pin Dick's surgery after host, the billboard music awards, and this year she is hosting in the middle of pandemic. But what if anyone can do it? It's Kelly. I feel like every year that I posted the billboard music awards something happening I'm having to navigate around and I feel like it's just that's what happens. There's always a hurdle So and I adapt rather easily and can kind of just keep going you know show must go on so. That you definitely got the right host for it. This show's obviously going to be different this this year because we're navigating all the nineteen. Then that enough it's more of like uniting people and connecting people and and you know music has a very healing power to it in a in a in the power to connects people, and that's really what we're focusing on the opening.
