"dominic guy" Discussed on The NBA Show

"He just dropped a baseball pass. He throws it across the court falling out of bounds, right to another guy, but the bridge is actually. And that's something that's that has sort of a psychological impact on your team. If you have a guy like that on your team, you're gonna run. That's kind of the impact of that. And another stat is that I found that I thought was really interesting is he's number one in the NBA and pick and roll pass outs. So that just means he is consistently making the right read. And he never ever looks, you know, he never looks challenged. Like he never looks stressed. That's a thing. But I think the question going forward for lamella is, I think you're right. I think once we start to see him in a playoff scenario, how are teams going to defend him? I don't know that I don't know that he's like leans heavily on anything enough where you could totally take him away. You can play a couple different ways, and he can still provide the things that he provides. But I think going forward for Charlotte, what do you think the missing piece for them is? That's always kind of the way we wrap this with these prospects. It seems like defensively, they're pretty bad. They're 30th in the league in defense of writing. They play really fast. When you kind of go and look at the way they play, it's like they play pretty well offensively to play so fast, but they just get murdered and transition defensively. And what do you think? I've heard a lot of people talk about miles Turner. Do you think a miles Turner trade could work for them? I would love that. I think you don't have to rush it. Lamella is only in year two. You don't need to go all in right now. There's no, there's no need for that. I mean, you even compare them to TRE and ja. That's year three or four Luka. He's only year two. If he makes the playoffs this year, it's a huge win, considering they were the ten seed last year. They came off the bench a lot of last season. So it's fine. But I do think ultimately the 5 spot, you need some kind of 30th in defense, a miles Turner would be great. I think a Christian would. They've got the right pieces, what I really love. I just think lamelo to me what makes lamelo so exciting is not just him as bridges. I think that could be the chance to be a really great one to combination. They compliment each other so well, I think that's the foundation of a great team for a long time. It's because you can parallel mello and bridges to jaylen and Jason or Simmons and embiid. Those two guys, they don't make each other better, right? Like Jalen and Jason are doing their own things. And the best version of Jason Tatum and the best version of jaylen Brown can't really coexist because they're both in the same spots on the floor. They both want the ball. But the best version of lamella and bridges are actually perfect for each other. I think that's the big thing if I'm Charlotte. I've got this foundation for the next ten years of this elite wing elite point guard. We're gonna play a super fast bridges can score doesn't need the ball, lamelo can pass, doesn't need the ball. And I think that when you have your top two pieces when they align like that, everything else falls in the falls into place. What do you think about this? Miles Turner and caris levert for Gordon Hayward and PJ plus a 2022 first. What do you think about that? Who says no? I don't know if I need levert on this team. I love the ball dominant guy. I think Turner is the guy you want, because she can spread the floor defend he can go out and run still too, but I don't think you did an extra ball Dominic guy like Robert, I'd much rather see book night. I think booked my chance we were like a player too. Obviously my guy Jones, not playing much, and that might be too far down the road. But I think at the very least, you want to develop book night into that 6th man scorer role. He's got good size to play off lamella also. And I think ultimately upgrade the Terry Rozier spot. Definitely. Lamella he's just an unreal talent. It's been really, it's been really surreal to kind of watch him blossom, but like we said, he fails fast, he is a short memory, and sometimes I have a hard time knowing whether or not that's like he's just too reckless, you know, there's like an overlap there where it's like he is pretty wild with this decision making. Are they going to get into a plate? Some of that might just be this is going to take time like you were saying it's in terms of the roster building. Like, hey, let's not rush. We're not in a hurry. This is year two. But I think comparing the him with the other guys that are like comparable score playmaker types, it's interesting to think, what would a lamella look like? If he had been on that hawks team, my kid's ability to go on and off ball. His ability to be super creative, what would that have meant for the hawks? Because I feel like the hawks kind of ran into trouble where Trey plays one way, you know? You know, the door's wide open for Charlotte to put together a team because these pieces are really difficult to get. Yeah, and I think what you're saying with the hawks, if you read, I was so sear it so he went to the hawks and training camp for us. The great feature on it, go back and read that. And you could just feel all the young players talking about how they want a more opportunities. They can already feel the discontent. And it's because, yeah, Trey monopolizes the ball. So a cam reddish, a Deandre hunter, Kevin herder. They're all kind of forcing things somewhat this year before they got hurt. 'cause they're all trying to do more because they have one guy with the ball in his hands a lot. Same thing in Dallas, right? When you have a guy who holds the ball, everyone else has to almost like fight harder to get the shots they get. They don't play as free. I guess also to go back, how'd you have lamella for the draft? Not even ask you, where'd you have him? I thought I had it won. I thought I understood. It was similar to ayton where I understood the thinking behind taking. You know, there's some of these guys that are like these archetypes where it's like this big 7 foot or this super athletic wing and it's like that we'll talk about in a minute and we're gonna talk more about Anthony Edwards..

"And if he does that and you're able to get one of those guys. We mentioned that completely changed the landscape of what the west going into the season even on the hills of what we saw with chris. Paul did there. In the valley with devon booker and the andre eight and it was a tremendous run by chris. I wonder bt because i haven't lived in la for awhile now. The laker fans were so mad the first time. They had a chance to get the chris. Paul and david stern blocked that trade. How badly would they want him now. Considering all the trash they talked about it when he played for the clippers. I would say based on what i'm hearing. There's not clamor to get here now at all mean if they can get in for a nice price. You're laker fans of fine with it but they're not going. We have to go. I and go chris paul. That's not what i'm hearing from. The fans that i talked to i hear on radio shows not at this stage of his career just they and they know that these guys are france and chris de france winning work together. Can he really. And and they're both off. Dominic guys talked a lot so laker fans are not saying yet like it was. We played a pair him with kobe. Bryant they're not. it's not that way. This time around. I will say this. Maybe because they're such close friends. It would be easier for them to acquiesce to the other in certain situations than it was for chris. Paul and james harden to do it in houston because those are two ball dominant. Do's and that clearly did not work out. In a chris for his sake if he decided to opt out in phoenix. Or somehow la. He will have that experience. But joe is much easier for me to acquiesce to do that. I like love and respect than a. Do we eat that tight. You know what. I mean but again for him to get to. La to the lakers man. I'll say this one more time. Yeah i think. I have a better chance of going to the moon and going out of space. I do know you have a great chance of going to paris this summer. So enjoy your annual track.

"Welcome back to the program. Everybody and N Ba opening night We are fired up. Fans are fired up. Everybody's fired up. This is one of those circle the calendar kind of days little later in the calendar than we're used to, But nonetheless, it is. Here It is time. And you know, Carrie and I were talking before the show and thinking, you know, who should we get out as a guest? Who would be the perfect opening night guest and we decided it should probably be somebody with it least seven NBA titles, at least right, at least. Yeah, And you know, it Turns out there aren't many of those dudes. There's very few guys who won seven NBA titles. We found one. And it's Robert Horry. Mr. Clutch, joining us on the show, Robert Happy opening night And how fired up for you to get this thing started. Happy game late to you two guys, I'm fine up because I'm really interested to see Some of my favorites back in the lead from Indri. Katie. Step, You know, Carrie, I'm really excited by then. Also, I'm seeing if the new addition Lakers carry peak, so I'm excited. Robert, We got great matchup opening night. Steph Curry, Kevin Durant. Warriors nets. Both of these guys coming off of long. Layoffs can either of them figure out a way to kind of Get what they get that magic back and should they be treated his M V P candidates right from the start of the season based on their resumes. Um, I You know what? I think both should be looked at, But I still think it's gonna be hard because they envy situations that I think Katie situations little bit harder because he's playing with Dominic Guy like Carrie. But step on the other hand, he lost. Is this a sidekick and play for the year? So he has the golden opportunity to be that guy again. That school is a lot of porn. Give a lot of spotlight on him. He doesn't have to share like he did when Katie was with him in the Warriors. So Me. I still think LeBron is the favorite. Even though he didn't win a dish it was I think you should have, but I'm you know, LeBron fan. So, uh, it's gonna be close this year. Yeah, well, you should be in LeBron fan, not just cause he's LeBron but also because you're now doing work for a spectrum SportsNet l A has the broadcast and get treatment. You know, I never thought in a million years that talking about basketball and getting paid for, you know, I thought we'd be in the barbershop, talking about on the standing on the corner, like in the old days, but you know, it's It's fun. I enjoy. I get to watch the games, You know, Think about me. I've always loved basketball. But now that I have to report on it, I'm down more deep into it. And get to know guys that you know those 78 guys on the bitch you might not know. So you gotta know those guys now. So, um, I love of basketball has grown since that stopped playing seven time NBA champion Robert Horry joining us courtesy of Bet online, Robert Lakers analysts and the Los Angeles Lakers coming off of this championship, the over under on their win total this season, 47 a half in a 72 game season. Do you think about that total given that They played. So recently. There's such a short layoff from the MBA bubble in that championship to opening night. Tip off, you know, in LeBron and Anthony Davis could be sitting out and sitting minutes more than more than usual or more that they wanted the beginning of the season. How do you feel about that? 47 a half You know, I'm in a I'm agreeing with it because I think they have a golden opportunity. I know everybody was talking about the clippers, but I think you know they're right there behind him at 46 a half I think with them losing Montreal's to the Lakers, that gap should be a bill of it Water because I think people will get the key roles. That mantra is played with them. I know they added Ibaka, but I don't think he boxes going. Bring them what they need that monstrous boat. So I think the Lakers are the favorite to win, not just because of what they have and LeBron 80, but what they added to their team and added four great pieces to that team is still gonna be except on. I think whose is getting better? I think you know, KCP is when those guys that nobody talked about that had a great bubble and I looking forward to seeing what they can do with the additions. So I still think there's a favor so we should mention that they were getting these over under numbers from bet online dot net and Robert. I know you're you're involved with that as well. How do you find time to do all this? You know, it is difficult is the crazy part my schedule now I've never been this busy, um on doing this stuff for BET bet online, and it's cool with them because this is basketball is talking basketball. You're talking numbers, and I'm learning a lot from this, And it's just weird. This is my year to learn because I'm actually back in school at the University of Alabama trying to finish up my degree with that. So I'm doing that I'm doing. You know the spectrum stuff I'm doing. You know, special stuff for the Lakers. I'm all over the board, man. And I left because doing this pandemic you have to find time to keep yourself busy, or you're gonna put on that. Over 19 that mean that weight and I don't want to throw that weight, man. I'm trying to get it down, trying to take managing. So it's It's been interested in all the things that I've been. I've come across some unable to do right now. You know, since you mentioned University of Alabama, I gotta come clean. I got a bone to pick with you, man. I was an undergrad. About the same time you were an undergrad. I went to Stanford. And I have very much remember a first round NC double a tournament game where you and the trail spree well, and your boys knocked us out a really good Stanford team out in the first round, and I never quite forgave you for that. I gotta be honest. You know what? Blame Adam Keefe? The reason I say that because any time we play someone the coaches had they had the unique thing of hyping me up. Oh, Adam keeps better than you. He's ranked higher than you. You know, dead another. That right? It happened with him. That happened with Clarence Weatherspoon. That happened with Popeye Jones. I'm only three guys that we put it happened in shock, too. But, you know, shack well, so Riddles. You know, three of those guys with hired to me one time should have his shack, Clarence, you know, Okay. Hey. Went to the sixes. I don't wanna go to Philly. You know, then Adam with the Atlanta where I wanted to go on. I was mad at that. But I blame those guys..

"To the Raptor today. Just they do not die. Double overtime. The rat. There's just so much art. I was incredible Last night Crazy stuff. Michael Porter calling out the Nuggets. Ah, lack of adjustments in their game plan. Interesting stuff. Santana most coming up next hours, well, former Washington wide receiver part of their broadcast crew, But right now we're joined by Super Bowl when he had coach We have a lot of different things to hit. And of course he to an analyst for the NFL network. That is Brian Billick. What up, Coach? How you doing? Good afternoon, guys. How you doing? Okay, man, you're good. Coach this season is going to be odd. It kicks off tonight. It's going to be 16,000 fans out in Kansas City, the kid's city teach, feel like I know they're feeling themselves. They have a lot of confidence. I think that's a good thing. But do you agree? Yeah, it is. And Andy will read will make sure that he keeps that focus. That energy focused on Yeah, that's great, And we're breaking Super Bowl champs, and we feel good about this. But it's all about Houston. And then after this, it will be all about the next thing. You know, it'll be very Bella Chechi. In of this is all we're talking about. This is all we're thinking about it. I'm asked all the time. You know it is hard to win back to back championships. No, it's hard to win an NFL championship in a super period One time doing it back back is superfluous is almost prohibitive on what They're a very good football team and obviously day in Baltimore going to be the top two teams in the state, But I'm sure Andy Reid will tap into that confidence. Let them have that that top. It's among them, but still keep very focused. Okay, That's all well and good, but all we're talking about issues. Always talking about his next week opponent. Erratic now going to say, Speaking of Houston, your Bill O'Brien has this It's It's a dual role. Now. He's obviously the head coats, but he's also kind of the general manager. Not kind of. I think he actually is the general manager. They'll have one right now, and as a result, he's trying. It's it's It's forced him to pull back and I think in some ways that actually might be good for him. Especially after some of the criticisms that he's gotten play calling and otherwise. He's got a great young quarterback and dish on Watson, who's who's growing into the system he could beam or accountable for what actually happens, is opposed to fully leaning on his coach. Is this a good situation? You pay the kid your court, your head coaches pulled back. You have more of a traditional offensive coordinator. Now it feels like Houston. Despite losing DeAndre Hopkins might be better position than they were. I think so. Ah, you know, obviously, when you lose a player, the caliber DeAndre Hopkins, you don't just what would just plug in the next guy doesn't work that way, but they have put together a pretty good functional group of receivers. That will be interesting and give Shawn Watson a lot of different options. He doesn't have that Dominic guy to dictate coverage, all the things that you want to do, but still this is This is a pretty good group that way and in going into tonight's game. The good thing is, this is one of the subtle things we talked about the lack of of crowds. You're going into Kansas City and the crowd is not going to be a faster You're not going to have to fight that energy and that noise like you did last year. So that's that's a real advantage for teams going on the road to some places that are traditionally very tough to play. Tampa Bay going in New Orleans. Yeah, gotta love the fact. He's not going to have to fight that crowd noise here Initially. Andi Sean Watts, I think is one of the great young players and now as rounded out his game. Yeah, I think it's a good thing the way it has evolved and what Bill is doing with you, and also to Brian Billick, former Ravens head coach analyst for the NFL network with zero tickets here Now I want to ask you specifically. About the Sean. But then it branches out into her, you know? Ah, greater bench more for all the young quarterbacks here. Listen, Coach were in a sped up society and kid gets drafted right away. The clock is ticking. You know, Wednesday in the playoffs wins, you know what his first Super Bowl Wednesday to get number two. We're like racing each other to define legacies, and it's infantile if you really think about it, but It's there, So I guess it's kind of a factor. And I understand there's a lot of contributors. You know, you have an offensive line. What kind of franchised rented your house? Your defense, blah, blah, blah. And while the Sean is a store, what do you think is a fair like at what point is fair where the criticisms For playoff failures are or applicable and and riel and no longer unfounded. Is it three years in is it four years? And what do you think is a fair estimate? It's never fair, You know, It's just, you know, it's quantifiable and probably appropriate, But it's never fair. How long that take Peyton Manning actually win and go through the play offs that way, So Yeah, I think he's a dynamic talent. Hardest things to do. We talk about this all the time. Separating The play of a quarterback from what's going on around you gotta. I've got a book coming out September analyzing the 2080 draft, Maura about analyzing the quarterback. Process of evaluating, acquiring and then developing and and it's amazing how often still with all the advances and in drafting and analytics and all that how often we screwed up, and I mean, what is what world His ritual Robiskie taken ahead of Paktika homes, Shawn what? Yeah, that's what we do is a legal and it's a 50 50 crapshoot. So, yeah, but Shawn Watson is and I love the kid. I love the way he progresses. It seems like he did in his rookie year from one game to the next and from year to year. But now what's going on around him is a factor in until he wins the big game. You know there's going to be that question, and that's legitimate. Not all just Shawn Watson has do with what's going on around. What's the name of that book coach? The name of the book is the cute factor. The cute factor remember, great, and it was an interesting process. We literally started two years ago and just kind of okay, Here's what we thought of the group coming in. Remember, the 2018 group was supposed to be the best to you know 1983 83. Okay, Here's what we think. Coming in. We took him and why Here's how they did, and here we are already the 10th in what world does tend to be Josh Allen, who's now been waived out of league twice. Ah, go ahead of Lamar Jackson out. How do we? How do we have the league frozen? Just Yeah, Yeah, Just Roshan. I said Josh. Alan, I'm sorry. Josh Rosen. How do we have a lead? How do we make that mistake? How do we get this wrong so Well, I don't know that we know yet speaking in one of those quarterbacks from 2018. If the Browns absolutely got it wrong, there's some split reviews both ways. Good evidence from year one. Some shaky evidence from your two would expect from Baker this year. The Browns are fascinating. You thinkyou re rebounds What he got on Baker. Yeah, we're gonna find out, aren't we? Because you're right. It is. This is this is going to be deciding factor. I think Kevin's Lansky, who comes out of the Gary Kubiak school now will utilize the right offense with the play action and get him out of the pocket by By design a little bit. Hey, does have the tools around him. The question becomes can And you already isolated it? They may feel that that okay, I'm this is who I am. I'm just a gun slinger. Okay, well, That's mentality right now. Got you on a 1 to 1 Touchdown reception cost to a lot of games. So can you keep that mentality? That swagger of Yeah, I'm gonna throw it in there, but then not turn the ball over and that's going in under Kevin's fancy. I think he's got a chance. I think that could be pretty good. But we'll see. Because I'm not sure I'm not ready to say Oh, yeah, yeah. Baker Mayfield, he when you look at that 2018 class Put it in the category of boom or bust..

And what do you think is a fair estimate? It's never fair, You know, It's just, you know, it's quantifiable and probably appropriate, But it's never fair. How long that take Peyton names actually win and go through the play offs that way, So Yeah, I think he's a dynamic talent. One ofthe hardest things to do. We talk about this all the time, guys. Separating The play of a quarterback. What's going on around? I've got a I've got a book coming out September analyzing the 2080 draft, Maura about analyzing the quarterback. Process of evaluating, acquiring and then developing and and it's amazing how often still with all the advances and in drafting and analytics and all that. How often we screw it up. And I mean what in what world His Mitchell Tudeski taken ahead of Patrick Mahomes. Shawn. What? Yeah, that's what we do is a legal and it's a 50 50 crapshoot. So, yeah, but Shawn Watson is and I love the kid. I love the way he progresses. It seems like he did in his rookie year from one game to the next and from year to year. But now what's going on around him is a factor in until he wins the big game. You know there's going to be that question, and that's legitimate, But it's not all just Shawn Watson has to know what's going on around. What's the name of that book coach? The name of the book is the cute factor. The cute like September great, and it was an interesting process. We literally started two years ago and just kind of okay, Here's what we thought of the group coming in. Remember, the 2018 group was supposed to be the best to you know 1983 83. Okay, Here's what we think. Coming in. Here's took him and why Here's how they did, and here we are already the 10th in what world does the tense picked be? Josh Allen, who's now been waived out of league twice. Ah, go ahead of Lamar Jackson. How do we? How do we have a league mean? Rosen just goes? Yeah. Yeah, just Roshan. I said Josh. Alan, I'm sorry. Josh Rosen. How do we have a lead? How do we make that mistake? How do we get this wrong so long? Well, I don't know that we know yet is speaking in one of those quarterbacks from 2018. If the Browns absolutely got it wrong, there's some split reviews both ways. Good evidence from year one. Some shaky evidence from here, too. I would expect from Baker this year. The Browns are fascinating. You thinkyou re rebounds What he got on Baker. Yeah, we're gonna find out, aren't we? Because you're right. It is. This is this is going to be deciding factor. I think Kevin's Lansky, who comes out of the Gary Kubiak school now will utilize the right offense with the play action and get him out of the pocket by My design a little bit. Hey, does have the tools around him. The question becomes can And you already isolated it? They may feel that that okay, I'm this is who I am. I'm just a gun slinger. Okay, well, That's mentality right now. Got you at a 1 to 1 Touchdown reception cost you a lot of games. So can you keep that mentality? That swagger of Yeah, I'm gonna throw it in there, but then not turn the ball over and that's gonna end in under Kevin's fancy..

"We'll talk to Erik Armstead about it at twelve thirty divorce parking was on this morning in the morning show he talked about it they are relishing this opportunity to take on the ravens by the way as a side and players are big on this on Madden rankings apparently Lamar Jackson is past Michael Vick is the fastest quarterback in Madden history they have now to ninety six I mean he's in faster now what's calamari I don't know Kyler Murray is of that I get is the fastest for that was Michael Vick it in ninety five there you go not sure they have about Colorado four three a I don't know Lamar run Gemini runs away from people there's no doubting knows how to set people up I would venture to guess in the you know Aragorn say it but there comes a point in the week where you just get tired of hearing about a guy and Lamar Jackson it's already Wednesday I'm tired of hearing about him but I I realize what he did on Monday Night Football and I realize he's the flavor of the month I understand all that but things change in this late last year at this time it was your golf in the ramps in their office another just disintegrated so I think that this sexy match up is obviously the Mar because of what he's doing and what he did on Monday Night Football and the forty Niners defense because of what they did on Sunday night football but the forty Niners the these is a match up with the two highest scoring teams in the league and they do it it's interesting there was a time were you know I think the league was getting away from running the ball and getting into passing the ball because you had to score with the elite offenses in that one Superbowl when it was the colts against the saints it just seemed clear that the league was really moving into becoming a fasting late and I think it did at that time you know yeah drew Brees and Peyton manning they were pass happy teams although you know Sean Payton when he had the right that you know group of running backs around him he would run the ball any does again but I that now these two teams lead the league in scoring and their one two in rushing which is a little interesting most people think it is a faster score but day day do it on the ground and they're insured back driven running game in the forty Niners do it with a committee of running backs I mean if the forty Niners averaging what clothes started fifty yards rushing a game for awhile there were two hundred yards a game they're not gonna have anybody get close to a thousand yards rushing and it was common on face for even eight hundred in have you got a whole group and you know breeder would be there as well but he's been hurt so it's just it's just how they run the ball is a little unusual that the forty Niners do with outside Reno predominately running based scheme but just a committee of running backs in that one Dominic guy and the ravens door the quarterback who was the lead guy but all feeds off of that I think his greatest skill John really a besides running and here's a running back his ball handling I think that's the one thing we talked Erik Armstead I you just don't know if he has the ball and you don't know if he gave it or I mean you got simultaneous actions going on where he's really good at that match point I mean he really is able to put it in there and he just hides the ball you cannot see who has the ball and they execute every fake like he gave it any pulled it and you just don't know when that he may pull it and throw it as a part of their RPO game so that they have it dialed in without question just the actual ball faking Jimmy's excellent at it in a different way with the jet sweeper and all that kind of stuff but the raven stored and he's in the pistol the entire game I mean he's he's hardly ever other center and eight usually has a running back behind him we got to the side where it this side you can kind of chip which way you're gonna run predominantly if the back is to the right you gonna run laugh they can toss and go to the same side where the back is but usually it'll tip which way they're gonna go as they put the back right behind they also use a full back on the field I got all these three tight ends so but I I think the big thing and Eric Weddle said and it's just obvious watching it and I'm gonna ask Jerry Sandusky calls the games he must have a hard time knowing who actually has the ball because they execute that match point fake expert lay where I you know as you said just tackle everybody just tackle back to him the quarterback is blowing all up in this figure out later as the ball but I I saw the patriots several times John just I saw him actually tackling grow like it had the ball and Lamar pulls at any scoots out the left side so his ball handling outside of his legs are the best thing I think he does yeah and here's the thing too is because of his speed and not only is be like you said happen it could run but the difference in this guide and you keep saying he's a running back that's exactly right he knows how to read blocks he's great with the cuts he already has by the way eight hundred seventy six yards he's going to obliterate Michael Vick's.

Erik Armstead ravens eight hundred seventy six yard two hundred yards thousand yards fifty yards

"They're doing a holding on a hundred anniversary of the NFL and he was a part of that because I know I saw him talking about it or what I thought was him talking about it it's fantastic all right the show your bills twenty fourteen doubled up on the giants twenty one seven let it at half the bills now to know and Josh Alan still not accurate but looking looking how wonderful to and how we should carry himself and carry a team he's run a couple touchdowns in a season. the only to work on the accuracy but getting better all the time all right then the Seahawks hold off the Steelers and one big band one out that's when I had texted fez in you know probably got on the Seahawks plus a half point at intermission it was ten seven Steelers after have Steelers remind us three up to three and a half for for the game and it was all Seattle second half as they win a twenty a twenty six now Pittsburgh made a late run tried to get back in the thing but Russell Wilson good enough three hundred yards three touchdown passes were shot and he had a big touchdown run that was key to you switch user five receptions eighty four yards but it was Mason Rudolph that had to come in there for big band I think we would all still has potential to be good and I think you know maybe we've seen the best of big band and and I just don't see him coming back got to be the same Dominic guy that he was for those years and I really tell you as much as there is a discord with him and Antonio brown. he's still on the field there was a lot of chemistry there now absolutely I think that Mason Rudolph having played at Oklahoma state so getting to play teams like Oklahoma and Texas I think that that that prepares you a little bit more for an NFL career I think he should do just fine I'll be in the notes will be there I don't I'm not suggesting he's gonna be able to be big band I think he's going to do a decent decent enough job to hold at Steeler's down to being a good team still are a Rudolph.

That's what we're that that's of course crisper saw. Didn't you work with Chris and of course he took off the odd couple last night so this deal come down during the odd couple did or did it came under the Oh yeah me. Jonas knocked got to dive into it. It was good yeah. You know what's interesting to me is I. I I like Russell Westbrook but the the triple double thing is so over overdone over disgust frankly overrated because it overrated when nobody else could do it for forty years in the League sports completely changed changed yeah but how many other guys agit doing it if it's so easy to do more than just Russell Westbrook. You don't think that if Lebron wanted average triple dumb now now. I don't think Lebron if he wanted to Lebron can go out every night but he wasn't getting them so I gotta give Russell. I think it's easy easy to pooh-poohed and say anybody could do it. I don't think anybody can do well. If here's the thing I a lot of people don't actually accusing you of it. A lot of people don't watch N._B._A.. Games right and the difference between eight rebounds ten rebounds. I mean honestly like Carmelo Anthony's to do this all the time where he would call off other guys so he could get a rebound and he would he would give guys stink they would you know on a dead ball rebound. They would go grab it and he was in the area. That's my board encouraged to get in order to get his numbers. The points and assists were playing at a historic pace right. You're paying playing a faster pace. You're going to have more possessions additionally. If you're the ball dominic guy on the team you're going to have more opportunities to make plays okay so this is the only we're we're. We're all pushed. The only thing is really the rebounds and the rebound comes from the fact that he was switching so that he could be around the basket to get rebounds. That's it but his need to be his record. The team's record was really good when he got the triple double so wasn't empty numbers where he was just grabbing numbers. They were much better winning percentage when average a triple double. That's why I can't just discount act like he's just <hes> filling a statue okay. Is that fair. I guess but they're if they're winning gang of proof will be in proof will be in the pudding. It's it's it's not any different than James Harden statistically like he should win the M._v._p.. Look at or you know I mean what what happens. Is We realize there's another side of the floor and that if you're Russell Westbrook doc hasn't played defensively with the same energy and effort that he gets credit for in the playoffs he doesn't do it on a daily basis. He just doesn't he takes place off. As anybody does takes more often he's given credit. He would switch on a big guy so you get rebounds and but like look statistically on on paper these two should put up usually a one two guys that can really score Russell Westbrook's led the League in scoring twice led the League in scoring twice. James Harden led the League in scoring. They should put up huge numbers but that's not actually the way it works in the basketball. There's only one ball doll so. Is this going to work or not. You like it you site. I like it just because I'm not convinced no but because what happens is we accused the wrong teams of playing Eyeso- ball or whatever they they don't play pick and role they play ice. Oh ball they just try and set a screen and get a mismatch and go and I think they'll try and do the same thing for Russell. Statistically I think it'll be good. I think it'd be good regular season team but I mean a team that had committed themselves to analytics three point shooting now has brought in the highest volume lowest least efficient three point shooter in the N._B._A...

"What would the pitch for Golden State? How do you try to convince Kevin Durant and get through to him to stay with the warriors? It's the same pissed. They gave him in the Hamptons. Hey, wait a best team in basketball, you make us the best team in basketball bottom line. We gotta take care of you. You're gonna get the most money, we gonna, you know you know what we present to you because we did it to three years ago. We picked you the same thing, nothing shakes. You know, you're gonna get healthy will wait on you. And that's it. Flynn. I mean, let's go to San Francisco and get some more innings. Is the medical staff a big deal there. But with what happened coming back from the injury, like does he need to get convinced that the medical staff, you know is, is all good, or, or is that something that he knows by now and maybe gets blown out of proportion a little bit? Yeah. Why there's been a lot of talk about that. But at the end of the day, the decision was Kevin Durant decision. I think they gave they told him because I was going on, and he had his own doctors at the same thing that the boys medical steps that, you know. And it's just an unfortunate thing when he came out to play that game. He looked ready if he had a torn achilles at that point in time, you never would've. No, because there's no way you can make those moves you like anyone else as I always look for his pre-game stuff, you know, like when they came to, you know gotten a little huddle in the hallway he did his little dance. There's no way if you had even inkling of an Killys to or injury, you can make those moves. And so to me that was a freak thing that happened. You know, he played twelve maybe that was the only other thing that I could say was against the wall is the fact that, you know, he played twelve out of fourteen minutes of and that I don't think it was an achilles at the time. Prior to when it actually happened to more for the great old pollinates on the Gelb show on CBS sports radio. How about Kyrie it looks like he's going to the nets and Kemba is going to the Celtics. It seemed like the Celtics are dead last week. And now they make a big move, and then the nets day Berlin to star, what it looks like in Kyrie Irving. Well, Kim move is a big move for them, but it doesn't shop. They problem. They still have a miniature of God whose ball dominant and it still doesn't change the dynamics of what the Boston Celtics needs to be better. And so to me that was really it's not even an upgraded downgrade. I mean I'm not trying to be disrespectful, Kemba Walker. But he's not caviar. And so, in caveat going to Brooklyn, you know me the ngelo Russell is out. But again, he's going to go into being a ball Dominic guy. Whereas the ngelo Russell wasn't a ball dominant guy. And I like the way that team was playing and so now there's going to be a shift in the Brooklyn nets game. So it's sometimes you got to look at the situation that best fit you, not market, not marketing branding. But what best fits you? I'm with you. That Kyrie's a better player. Then Kemba, but could it be the leadership, the personality could actually prove to make that situation in Boston better just because of how toxic toxic? It was with Kyrie. Yeah. I think so that's, that's the only difference that I see Kemba is a nicer guy bin Chi reas was on a basketball court. I think he's gonna get along with his teammates. You know, I think had a career almost one out his welcome a little bit. You know, he was laying a lot of the diva role and Boston is not built like that boss is not built on divas. I mean, look at the, the great Tom Brady. I hate the patriots. He's not a diva. He's still introduces himself to people. You know. Let me ask you this before we let your on, because I was respect your opinion. And you always keep it real with us last one for old in policies. Earlier in the week. It became official that Adam silver said, the NBA is moving away from the turn of the term owner and they're gonna go with governors as a former player that understands the ownership structure. How do you react to that one? I thought it was a great move by Adam civil because Adam gets it. You know, even though some people are like saying, well, you know, you guys are being sensitive. No, you gotta understand the look of it, and the sound of it. And until you walk in my shoes you can't tell me how to feel about some things that word had a negative connotation. And, you know, yes. Players get paid a lot of money, but the owners have to make ten times the my day pay out. So I don't wanna hell this stuff that went players got paid. Nobody touched about what the owners making, so that's Herm. I didn't. Like it, especially when I first came into the league when we had guys actually believe they were, you'll owner. They owned you, you know, we've had owners in the past and luckily, Davidson started getting rid of them, and then Adam silver finish the job. But they, you know, like one of the things and I got this implement this isn't that history. Okay. This is something that, you know, I overheard, and it was like, you know, like they whole little group would say, you know, like if the NBA the acronym MBA, and then they will come out with all the different negative connotations, you know, NBA sandwich, nothing but Africans NBS in sports and word you know, so I'm like, we had, that's that was the mentality by. And so to me, that's why from personal snap when I'm so glad Adam got rid of that because it doesn't have a place in the league you know, you can still be seen. But, you know, I I like the fact that they register them as governors and stuff like that. So that's a much better. Look, in my personal opinion when you talk about those feelings and those terms you still think that exists today with the current owners. No. Because that was the shift that was made. That's why you saw. So many now we have Indian own a we have a gay owner. We have all kinds of. Illness from every walk of life now, and different, nationalities. I think this is a broad spectrum now of leadership as opposed to in the past in, you know, sixty seventy fifty sixty seventy eighty when it was not, you know, the white owners Alden, always appreciate the time. Always learn something when you come on. Thank you so much. Thank you down the road. Very welcomes that. So there's all the bonus joining us on CBS sports radio. Let me remind you.

"Shirley love it. You know what I got to give credit to you for before you introduced me in? You've done something that nobody in the world has been able to do with our guy. You've been able to hold. Ryan Hollins accountable for his words done that America. So I'm going to say how did he get you to be held accountable for the crap that you got there and say you said to free interviews? I can't believe you got one and he's gonna get all ten. Absolutely. Absolutely. This is to tomorrow's three. We might skip the draft. Maybe call them to the draft show to see what he's doing. I love I love right holiday. I think Ryan says stuff and he gets off into I can't believe I just said that. Yeah. I can't believe I even just said that he was arguing with shack today. I saw that. Now, here's the thing that I wish got more run the fact that he picked the twenty fifteen twenty sixteen calves as the second best team of all time. I saw argue LeBron Jay and all that stuff to your Buna face. You can't be the clear cut winter, what I tell you makes you a clear, cut loser is, when you say the Cavs of twenty fifteen twenty sixteen second greatest team of all time. It's. Suspension worthy. To be suspended for ten days. Worse, if Machado loses a day for the for the phantom chess book, take here for ten days and give me his paycheck. I want you to pay joy corden studio would be Jonathan hood on ESPN ESPN app. So I look at this draft. And this is the first time that you have talked about this. I see that the top three but I need your help as far as four through ten because I can hear from those that are on the inside and our experts ESPN that some teams are in the top ten what may wanna go down? They see value at the bottom of the draft in the first round in high second. How do you see after Barrett Miranda Williamson, how do you see four through ten in the draft? I think people think the Knicks are crazy. And for good reason, the Knicks at three for good reason for other decisions at the Knicks have made. But for them to say they want to do their due diligence, and not to say, for sure, they're gonna take RJ, who most likely would be at three says to me, the Knicks are on is something that the nation doesn't seem to be catching up with not as a fact that dairies garland was believed to be the best point guard coming into this college season. There's garland. Played five games Vanderbilt this season due to an injury. Job, Moran got all the shine deservedly. So he seems like to me a generational talent. He seems like he's kind of good people believe, Darius garland was as good or better. Jonathan Cavani had this guy. Pegged as the guy, the point guard position forgotten bucks. Use incher. He feels to me like watching Damian Lillard he feels to me like an immediate impact guy. He's a guy that's now jumped Jerry Culver. And a lot of these mantras is the fourth pick, I think people are starting to come around on. Hey, maybe this isn't a three-man draft. Maybe Darius garland. Is that I'll tell you, I'll tell you what the bulls are a team that is really being aggressive. They're both front office that has been trying to figure out who they are trying to figure out Denney for that franchise there, another team. It says we want to go out to four and I think it's because people are falling in love with Darius, garland, rightfully so. I think this guy can you call it onto the radar if he's projected five or six, that's not a fair term. But what I do know is everyone thinks RJ Barrett. It's, it's nothing is wrong, a veteran point guard versus a young rookie point guard. That's the way if you're the bulls, right. Because it's very clear. John Paxson said without saying that he was not a big fan of Chris done. He doesn't think that Chris done is the lead guard for the future for this team. That's fine. But I need you to be able to identify who that is like, are you scared of pet Bev too much during the few nails to west side for you to while while for you can't shoot? Okay. I lay out right there with you. I like the dirt underneath I like the west side flavor. I like a guy who's ready to man up and get up in anybody on it anytime. That's the guy that's going to help a locker room like the bulls locker. Just what she could shoot a little bit more. Thing I would could shoot a little bit more and dares possesses that their franchise needs to go to point guard, and there's point guards in his trip to tell you that what I like Kobe white covered a lot of North Carolina this year did a lot of their games love. Kobe white, another guy that people aren't talking enough about. But when you did mention it. I didn't answer the question very amateur of me. When you talk about the lower end of the draft, which is having a conversation. We're just chopping hanging with friends tons, Rome. Jerome is a guy that nobody seems to love because he don't jump the highest. He doesn't move laterally. He's not gonna win in the sprint. He may not have bearish you with the crossover and get into lane like that. But he can do that tied. You're wrong to me as a guy that's going to have a long career in this league. And I'm telling you day one impact on a franchise that people got him in the lower end of the first round. That's, that's great value. And he's a winner out, you, there you go Felix right there. Here's your Jerome cut for them. And right there. They get clean out. Have mastered the sound bite. With me John hood, on ESPN, one thousand the cannot okay. So Cam, reddish thumbs up in the middle down. It's, it's, it's a hard one and there's, there's two ways you can look at this. I watched a guy who struggled to produce alongside the first pick of the draft and third pick of the draft. If you can't get cooking. When you're playing two megastars like that. And the defense of attention is going to go on those caliber talents to plan your out there. It's open gym just taking shots because you're wide open, and you still can't shoot at a high percentage and produce consistently fifteen sixteen points a game that's problematic. Because if you can't score like that one, can you score? And for a guy that came in with that kind of. Highly touted as highly touted as the rest of them, almost and just never really found his group. Now, the side of that is, it's hard to keep up with guys of that, caliber, Zion, an RJ ball Dominic guys. They're getting theirs. What do I find my footing? I've gone from being the megastar everywhere I played to being a distinctly third fiddle, and that probably hurt him a little bit. I would just like to see a guy who's getting that cleaner. Look still knocked out at a more impressive clip from three. He's built as three and d guy I didn't see enough DNC three. So for guy to go as high as he's projected, which could be as high as into the top five. Maybe. I wouldn't feel comfortable with it. I don't like to take him at seven. I don't I'm not gonna tell a kid to stay in school. But boy, if you need more seasoning away from Zion and away from RJ Barrett. It'd be him to see what he can do as the man, you'd wanna prove that, right? But you're also going to you're also going to be getting paid top ten money. I get we, we both get that one, right? Yeah. I just I don't know what he is. That's why came to, you know, I don't know what he is in the next level and this out since you're gonna get from me on this one. I don't know. I know what the scenarios just lay in front of you. And I lean towards if he can't get it alongside those two guys all season I don't feel comfortable that he's really going to get it but he's young and he could evolve and jump shot is pure to watch. He's got pure mechanics. It's a pretty sight. He's long lean and he's got lettuces them, so it screams three the and, and that is something that you want to put on your team to build. I just I thought I'd see more but it was only one year one year. Yeah. Is to be able to terminate. I I'm looking at some of these other names, I wanna ask you about some other one. Okay. So am trying to find because I saw majority of your games try to find some ACC. Love in here. The Andre hunters wanted people like, yeah, you covered him. I like him a lot. I wish us more fluid athlete in the one on one. He was forced to do a little bit more one on one this year. And he did show growth there. I don't think it's as fluid as it needs to be. But he's a sound defender got a lot of spots floor. He's a good stretchy out shooter. He played much different places on the floor. And to me, that's very appealing this era, versatility and interchangeable pieces. The hundred possesses that he's a concert professional, he was asked to lead that team. And he did all the way to an actual championship. So he you show, the evolution when it was most needed things like you like Jackson Hayes Jackson as from a hometown Cincinnati guy explosive athlete comes from a family of athletes. Very raw incredibly raw six eleven four or five freshman from Texas. Rim runner changes ends beautifully shot blocker high level, athleticism. He's not a guy that's got to be the rookie of the year. NBA's not gonna put up those kind of numbers but he he compliment a roster. And in a fourth fifth piece beautifully. He's a guy that knows his role and he's a guy that I think can develop a jumper. And if he does that can really turn into something seen a lot of Jackson as a draft, I guess my point in years, prior elite athletes that are long lean and change ins well, show me will give me a little bit more to sell me on why you should distinguish yourself amongst the rest in my big I need three point shooting. I need to be able to get to the basket, I need to get rebounding need to have some intangibles here because you love your God. It could be able to. The the ball to the basket. Back to the basket around the rim. I want him to show I want some of these big show me a little bit more. So you ain't tracks Trafton Jack's Hayes. Yeah. Yeah. You want more boxes to be checked that my opinion are check quite yet. But again, he's one of those incredibly young pieces Bruno Fernando, I've had a choice to watch brutal, you know, working out here in Chicago, too. He's a specimen, but I just feel like he lacks it, he's a brute, but he doesn't have enough to watch him. His workout wasn't press this. I'm talking about man..

"And it's like if you don't play against these guys often was that close enough yet with my breath is bad as he was delighted thank you. That's all that matters. Right. But when you're playing against guys in his that intense you have to understand the difference between good defense in great d did it did it change your perspective at all? Zach on just how much warriors might need Kevin Durant to win this series. Not really. I mean I picked a warriors seven that sort of factored in the idea that he would come back at some point mid to late in the raptors are really good. I thought it was gonna be a tough series for them, obviously long lay off for the warriors. Raptors are at home like that's shapes up as a game one. They should get. Here's one thing. I don't think fans recognize when you're playing against clay that perpetual motion all the time the attention to detail and the conditioning that you need at the highest level in NBA finals in order to tag, those guys twenty four seven that's tolling. That's taxiing fun. So can you. Have to be able to sustain that and that's going to be the biggest question for them. If you quiet health guys entire quick, turnarounds. You sustain that level is difficult. There are no very quick turnarounds in the finals anymore. This is one of the shorter layoffs. They will have between games here because Thursday to Sunday night game two is Sunday night in Toronto before they travel. Now, one other thing I wanted to get in here while I have Zack. In addition to last night's game, there was some relatively significant breaking news yesterday in the NBA, and it came from our insider, Adrian origin, asking who reported that contract talks between the rockets and head coach Mike dantonio, have broken down, that means that dantonio will be coaching this coming season in a walk ear. And for those who haven't been following they have dismissed all of his assistants. They have basically cut out and told the world in not so many words that practically every player on their roster is available for trade. It comes on the heels of the owner referred to this year's loss to the warriors as being unacceptable. So what gives here's that glow in Houston this. Getting a little weird. This is like a lot of stuff for a team that all they did was lose to the words who beat everybody all every year. I mean it's not like they had some colossal failure. Now, did they should they have one game six at home? Yes, that was a bad loss. But this is getting a little strange in coach of his status in a lame duck year. It just feels like it's not gonna end. Well Zach when we look at some of their bad losses. They're really, really bad. No coup. Why versus in San Antonio? When they loss against Houston, the injury last year you kinda give that to them. But this year to lose to the warriors that way you did when they had a big time injury. And then really to come out and not fight. Yes, you might have a coach. That's good enough to get you there in his very similar to the Nick nurse situation. You might want to find a different voice because you feel like you have enough talent I was saying before then moving all their personnel, but saying that we wanna stick with the strategy. I actually think the strategy can somewhat work, but you need your. Best player to be invested all the time. That's James James harden. And he's not not saying he's not from a scoring threat because he's one of the best scores we've ever seen, but their time. So we see him staying at the top of the key or other times, we just see him, you need everybody to buy into it. This was a point that was made yesterday. Jalen did a nice job of showing how sometimes James harden when he's not directly involved seems as. This is this is year. This is how they've played how Russell western clinches. It's how John wall plays a lot of ball Dominic guys play my point is, but no those guys championship. No fair..

"That's the number two on that carbon the fellow and what we talked about underdogs longshots, and we celebrated the win the derby last week. We just spend some time on some long shots for the PGA championship next weekend. At Bethpage Black was looking at the baseball card, and I see that the biggest underdog of the night is Texas at Houston, and it's ver- Lander against Lance Lynn, so it's pretty lopsided here. Mike the Astros are minus two sixty on the money line last night. The Rangers were about to go ahead in the game in the ninth. Inning hunter Pence had a three run home run that was robbed by Josh Riddick. And unbelievable catch over the wall to take that three run home run away in Houston ended up winning. But did you know that since two thousand fifteen the Astros as good as they've been just fifteen in twenty three at home against their division rival, the Texas Rangers put a little bit more. Because of the rivalry Texas is a weird team to figure out the method. I use it. Bit successful die the way to games above five hundred with this show dream, come true. And in in you know, what I gotta tell you when you look at baseball. It seems like it's starting to even out. We're starting to get a better sense of the teams that are coming through the cubs woken up. Oh, yeah. But I usually get the worst teams like today I had to take for the six o'clock games comical show, Miami Toronto. Right. It's not picking. It's my system picking them. So yeah, I mean baseball's look you're gonna win a thirty year games is that that's you're gonna win sixty two games at least into season for the most part. So you know, what underdogs win a lot in the National League? And American League of major league baseball quite more frequently than underdogs in other sports because that's just the nature of the game. You're right in Texas. I listen Texas is a game below five hundred right now. But there are plus in the differential if you look at their expectancy, they're probably maybe should be about two games above five hundred. So if you wanted to real longshot tonight, just some couch change, maybe to have some sad to have some fun. The Rangers have played well in that ballpark in almost one last night. Like, I said Riddick made. Yeah. Everybody should go watch. That highlight Riddick mayday a truly amazing catch to take three run home run away from hunter Pence in to run game in the ninth inning Phillies. Royals tonight for interleague, Jake Arrieta is going to the bump. He's an old school guy. Mike. I mean, we talk about how hard it's become to baseball because of bullpen usage. Jake's minus one forty favor tonight. And he's one of these guys will still take into the sixth or seventh inning Jake is gone. At least six in six of his seven starts this season. He truly is like Lester like hamels. He's one of these dying breed kind of guys, but he's old school. And he usually gives them a pretty good outing club. I mean, there's been you know, the debt debt, you know, he was losing philosophy and everything else. No lost the last movie. I watched him the other night Felix Hernandez the guy used to throw ninety eight ninety two. Okay. That means six miles less off Dominic guy. Now they dig into gets watching the banners. They used to fear him out. Jake knows how to pitch he's a man on the mound. I got I got a great pick tonight for everybody to start things on. Let's do it. Lanta minus one seventy. A one line getting a point and a half a one in Tehran going against Zack greinke the Diamondbacks. The good team is the grantee is a good pitcher put their only minus one forty. You got Freeman onto Braves you've got Mark. You got a lot of contact hitters on Acuna. You got a lot of contact hitters on the team. So I like the Atlanta Braves on the one getting the running a half Atlanta at Arizona. I'll give you a west coast game again. To stay up late. You watch for a win. I'm to stay away. Third. Second third to out you need to hit. Right. And then the manager comes out which was the case review last weekend. You're absolutely right. Like, you're like, oh, don't fall asleep. Sleep with your with your hand on your I gave out Kershaw last week in San Diego that ended up being a winner gonna go back to the well with the dodgers. So the NATs are in the middle of ten game road through Philly Milwaukee and now out west in LA, just too and five so far. Now, Patrick Corbin did shut out the dodgers last night six nothing to get the nets win. But we know that lefties are much more difficult for the dodgers to handle they wear out right handed pitching, they face anabol- Sanchez tonight made as a pretty heavy favourite. You gotta lay one ninety but I like the dodgers on the money line up until last night. They had a ten game home winning streak going. I think that they will bounce back. I'm taking the dodgers tonight. You got another one. Absolutely car come on. Now, I was up at four thirty this morning. I have lanterns I walk around with a gas Lancer. That's what I do in the boxers in the black socks. Are you kidding me? I got a big what I got the same game. Okay game. Okay. Got the chills. We're only I got under Aiden this one. Okay. Guys. You know, what seeing a Chaz? Eight hit a ball. That's what you think. If you think that then why is eight and a half. Why isn't it nine because you know, what? Tonight, they're gonna have the under. So I have the under eight in the LA game at Carmen right now. My power them up and take the wife to dinner what your next like my last one. I'm going to look ahead to Sunday. And I'm gonna play one of the games we talked about earlier, I think Leonard's gonna make a pretty big statement in this game in Toronto in this game seven I really liked the raptors to finish off the Sixers. You can get it right now at six or six and a half of probably won't change too much. But I'm gonna lay the lumber with the Toronto Raptors at home in the game seven against the Sixers on Sunday. All right. I got one more, by the way the picks tonight. Give out on the common your call. Shell those aren't bonus picks because they're legitimate like last week sale pick they come in with the couple. It's sort of like movie trailers I t's. Yeah. A little tease of what I'm gonna give already have Miami Toronto. I of it Lanta I have the under eight and a dodger game, I'm taking the Houston wack. It's on the money line tonight label die Houston Rockets. Now, probably be crying. Curry will probably go fifteen twenty they're out to prove everybody want. But why is the line seven? I thought it before five we can't we're not going back in time. We're talking tonight. I think Houston Chris Paul and these guys finally stand up if they don't Dr tarnished Forever's regular season here. It's going to be bad. It'll be a bad look for them. I agree with you, Mike, and the rockets are gonna win the night. I really do. We'll get into plane and head for the mount we might as well. But it's going to be doing what doing a number on the man. That's right. Everybody. Enjoy the action this weekend. We covered a lot. Enjoy all the baseball the cubs with this first place showdown against the brewers the White Sox north of the border, but these NBA games should be great. You're going to hear the game about an hour from now the game six that everybody's looking forward to add meaning John Barry will be on the call here on ESPN thousand pre game starts in about thirty five minutes or so so stay tuned for that enjoy all the game seven on Sunday. "Couple of days ago in that game was on you're getting Klopp and Steve Kerr quoting it was really good though. He's right. I thought they know shot to win that game. Especially the way Steph was playing like ten knee. That's I've always been a Steph guy, always Jordan. I love Steph forgot who is what's going on with him. You can't make shots. He can't make layups. Well, he's taken well for one. He's he's injured without that off-hand. He's got the the finger finger going he's taking it back seat. And I think that's commendable to be a star of his level. And when you have the opportunity to bring on a guy like Kevin Durant, understanding what? Kevin Durant brings a ball Dominic guy. And where he wants his shots. I don't think. Kevin Durant has been the biggest team players since he's joined, but Steph curry has and I think what what was able to get them to that place yesterday as it allowed stuff to say, okay? I can assume the role of alpha of top dog because I done that for several seasons here prior to Kevin's arrival. But he wasn't good. After aunt went out here that one stretch when he scored like five points at the end of the game. If you remember he goes in for the. He missed sure. And then and then it was Draymond hitting a big three. And then it was Klay hitting a big three. And then they sort of held on after that. But like, I'm just I keep texting free Dell. Because I I've never remembered a stretch where Steph curry looks like an average basketball player. I do think there's something to be said for the finger. I think that's part of it. I think that is part of what's going on with him in terms of shooting and finding rhythm. I think they're gonna rely heavily especially without the ram watch. Exchanges. Pick and roll exchanges that play Steph handling the pill, and and play Klay Thompson that screener looks to slip stepping out for looks at creates a different kind of space gets the shifty. And then let Steph make the right read whether it be scoring it passing it or leading it back behind for guy. Like Klay transition also becomes that much more for this team to avoid having to work through the half court setting with out their Goto star score. They saw pieces. Now, the biggest differences they won without Kevin Durant before he got there. But the bench was different bench. Visit different teams entirely different team's benches. Not as strong that second unit used to Dominy back in the day pre. Kevin durant? Well with Kevin Durant. They don't have those same assets. They don't have as deeper bench guys. Like Quinn cook. Now looney was remarkable for that team game down loose balls being an energy guy giving a lot of things drain mud tends to give that team. They still got a lot to take the I like I'm shot. That's been the month. That's been the most people. I don't think there's a very good chance of the warriors win one of these till not with the way steps playing either one of these two either one of these two gold state and lose game, south, Jordan. I took the warriors against my buddy Perry last summer. We had a bet I gave him the field. I took the warriors or winning it again. He goes no way, they're winning it again, especially with cousins there. They're winning it again. So I had a great belief in the warriors. But the way Steph is looked and to me. I know Chris has played while I just don't see how they're going to win. One of these next two games. You're going to need elevated performances from certain guys like Audrey Dala becomes a guy that has been so steady so consisted for this team. He's got a he's got up the ante. I mean, look forty four minutes twenty five points for Steph. He needs to get to maybe thirty and more consistent needs to be that can happen. We'll see a let's continue the conversation with Tim blog ler who joins us coming up next, by the way. Good entries coming in for what's at stake. So what do you got over there? "Throws that big Kirpal. It's gotta change up. He's got the slider. He's got the fast. He's got four pitches. He knows how to pitch kenley Jansen is a here comes the cutter. Good luck. And once that cutter isn't what it's been. It's a huge. That's why closers don't typically at once in a while. There's an exception to the rule, but once that lights out thing is gone. That's it. But in all fairness these so far this season. I do believe this is the first time we've talked about kenley in this fashion. So if you're saying once every twenty games, we may may get a nail biter. He may cough up a ninth inning lead. I'm still okay with that. Now if you follow that up like last season and wish there were like consecutive sort of performances, which you were scratching your head. Then I'll give them more worried. But if you're telling me here, we are twenty gains in and we weren't thrilled with the performance, but we still one I'm I'm okay with that right now. It's the performance on top of the stuff. It was just it wasn't just the even if he'd gotten guys out last night, and they won the game three to you like a stud, and like the stuff the stuff was kind of not heated it not heated and not in the right spot. If you're going to throw ninety you can't be missing spots. They're gonna kill you. Maybe he was experimenting. That would be that would be the wrong time to you over. Yeah. Is there a good time for that? I mean, it wasn't a good time. When she did it. Go hawks Russ just to chill out chill out. All right. The quarterback market has exploded last to your guys are getting paid. What does that mean for Jared Goff will tell you next? Happy birthday angrily. Sure. I don't think. So. But no happy birthday Kareem Abdul-Jabbar the cap. The seventy two years old today. Is he the goat? He it's a good argument. The it's a really good argument. I mean, we are in Namur with remnant players, but this student guardsmen yells in a resume L. I mean think about highschool tycoon challenge. NBA? I mean who difference franchises? Yeah. I mean, it's all time leading score. And indefensible, Sean changed. His name is still good. Yeah. They changed the rules of college basketball because of him. Sure did had hair was great got ball. Great goggles goggles. Great skyhook. Great jeopardy. Great movie with Bruce Lee, great author. Great. Okay. Tommy to resume is irrevocable is is the reason that we don't talk about him when we talk about Michael Jordan and LeBron James and even Wilt Chamberlain sometimes gets his name threatening their Kareem rarely does it because he was difficult to deal with for the vast majority of his career. No, I think it had to do winning. But the people that write these stories the people that create these conversations did I think it's because we're in Namur with the skill set of prone a player when Jordan Dunxin you it just looks different macrame dunks. Don't us like a big guy. Yeah. Give put thirty eight thousand of those on you. I'm the one that brought it up go. It's just that the perimeter players the shorter Perron players is always going to get the benefit of the doubt over the big strong. Dominic guy. Spud is not flashy. Right. It's just not. It's like this pretty smooth. Oh, it's like the you'd think like in football, receiver wise the best receivers home homerun hitters, right? Naturally. Sure. Sure. Not a chance. It's not even close dues. I can stretch the feel and go eighty drop of a dime. And all this other stuff last five years in the league three or four years and Lee is to do like, Larry FitzGerald and Crom boating and clown bowl, Jerry, Jerry, Michael myself me. That's what a real receiver game is at not the not the flash now. I'm not the ball one arm. It's not no, it's cute. But in the end, that's all this guy, like Kareem got had everything was free throws everything you didn't even have to worry about that. Right. Trying to find a but Kareem was grumpy for a long time rubbed a lot of people the wrong way..
