NFL Says Each Team Must Hire Minority Offensive Coach

"You got to hear this package. From ABC News. And the NFL has announced new rules to guarantee more opportunities for minorities and women. This comes after former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores filed a lawsuit against the league and three of its teams for racial discrimination. Trevor alt has more from outside NFL headquarters in New York. Hi, Trevor. Diane, these are really big changes from the NFL as the league has been facing increasing scrutiny and pressure from a lot of people who say they're minority initiatives simply were not doing enough and so beginning this upcoming season, all 32 NFL teams will be required to hire a minority or woman in a prominent offensive coaching position. The goal is to then create more highly sought after a head coaching minority candidates and then ultimately some more minority head coaches, which a lot of people say, there's simply not enough of those right now. This is a substantial expansion of what's called the Rooney rule, which up till now has only required teams to interview one minority candidate before they hired a new head coach. This is also the first time that women have been included. And of course, this change comes as the league is facing a lawsuit from former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores, alleging discrimination in the league's hiring practices, though the league denies those allegations. So I want to get this straight. This black coach feels he got passed over because I guess he's black. Think about that. Let that sink in.

NFL Says All Teams Must Add Minority Offensive Coach

"NFL is now requiring every team to have a minority coach in a key offensive role. According to the NFL, turns out that recently the head coaches in the NFL have come from the offensive side of the ball and there is in the view of the NFL and insufficient number of minorities occupying these kinds of positions. Aside from the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, there is one other black coach, his name is lovey Smith, Texans just hired him. And the dolphins hired a man named Mike mcdaniel, who is biracial, one of his parents, it's white, one of his parents is black. And the NFL has now an equity measure to require each team to have a minority assistant coach. In a significant role on its offensive staff.

"dolphins" Discussed on The MMQB NFL Podcast

"And here's the, I will say this without being as smart as I was at the beginning of this take. The Shanahan offense, which Mike mcdaniel had a large part in creating, right? I mean, Kyle took everywhere. Mike has basically created all of what Kyle understands about the running game. And he's going to bring all that to Miami. However, the system has rules. And there's a reason that Trey Lance is in playing right now, right? You have to read things the way that Kyle reads it or in this case, two is going to have to read things the way that Mike reads it. If I had to guess, who is going to be able to do that faster and I don't think the dolphins are behaving like a team that's like, oh no, we can wait 8 weeks for you to figure this out. And what would be very surprised to not see a transition at some point this season? Oh my God. Okay. First of all, I'm not going to besmirch. Not going to besmirch. Miami native teddy Bridgewater, great to have him back home. This is what just bothers me about the NFL. There's just like, there's no patience in this league. Whatsoever. It's like, first of all, do people expect this guy to come out and be like, oh, I'm stoked to be a backup quarterback. I can't wait to be a backup quarterback. I signed in Miami. Of course he's not gonna say all those things, okay? In fact, I want him to be a competitor I want him to want the starting job. Secondly, the fact that teddy Bridgewater is a known quantity. I mean, that's the point, right? That's the point. You take a chance on someone like two of because as Gary mentioned, perhaps there is more upside. I'm with Connor, right? They're making wind now moves. I get that, but to me, it's like, for as bad as tua is, as much as you guys want to dump like all these things on his feet, you make it sound like he's never won a game in the NFL. They haven't had success with him on the field. You look at The Rookie, The Rookie years of guys like Zach Wilson, or Trevor Lawrence, okay? Some of the stinkers they put up. To us never had an NFL game that bad in his life. As someone's the multiple interception games, those guys have had. To me, they face nowhere near as much scrutiny. And you look at what two is dealt with. An ownership group questionable how incentivized they are to win. His rookie year, he has an offensive coordinator who had to pull out of retirement just to work with Ryan Fitzpatrick. Last year, they had two offensive coordinators, no one even knows who's calling the plays most of the season. Are you saying the degree of difficulty has been so high for him? And again, this isn't to say that he's proven that he's going to be great. He's definitely going to be good..

"Dolphins was that teddy Bridgewater was pretty cagey when asked about whether he was here to be to a ton of ilo is back up. He said he'd rather not discuss that and that's private, et cetera, et cetera. We know what happened a couple years ago with Ryan Fitzpatrick. They upgrade over Ryan Fitzpatrick, bringing Jacoby Brissette and still hangs onto the job last year. But teddy Bridgewater hangs on to the job. Did you watch Jacoby percent play last year? Did you watch it? Did you watch him lose to the skeleton crew of the Indianapolis Colts? We squeak by the Houston Texans. I will destroy this recording and come out to inland Los Angeles and confront you personally if you're going to slander Jacoby Brissette on this show Roland. I won't have it. I've seen Cleo lemon take snaps at quarterback for the Miami Dolphins and I was more excited for those in every snap Jacoby Brissette tuck. You don't know what you had there. Teddy Bridgewater though. Look, no one's no one's necessarily thrilled with the prospect of teddy Bridgewater running their offense. He brings a lot of the look, a lot of the flaws in two is game are also in teddy's game. I think you would argue he is a more steady option at this point, probably a more reliable option. Though obviously a lower upside option in 2022. But again, if you're kind of thinking we're look, I think they should be fully prepared to move on after the season. You want to crack the door open a little bit, that's fine. He's young, anything can happen, et cetera, et cetera, but I don't know. What do we think of the prospect of teddy Bridgewater essentially Ryan Fitzpatrick tua? I love it. Steady teddy is a steady teddy was one of the most efficient quarterbacks in football last year. I think it was like ranked third or fourth and expected points added per play. There's a lot to like about this guy. I'll tell you, I'll tell my teddy Bridgewater story that I tell everybody when they want to know what the deal is with this guy. I was in turtle bay in Honolulu for the last Hawaii Pro Bowl. I was working for the NFL. And we got a day pass to work out at the gym there because they put us in a courtyard in a dry Mormon town like 50 miles west of there with no view of the ocean. Just, you know, getting some passive aggression out there. But worked out at the gym and went out to the turtle bay, this beautiful resort and went out and every NFL player is out there just like partying, right? It's like pools and music. And they're like, they're NFL players that I see like walking up the driveway of the resort who would have never made the Pro Bowl and are not in the Pro Bowl and they're just like, yeah, I'm down here to party. So then I walked into the gym, got a day pass there. Only person in there working out, refining his game. During the Pro Bowl, teddy Bridgewater, ready to go. So I think I've always, I've always used that one very small window example to bolster my take that he is a top 20 NFL quarterback. And I think it won't take long for him to prove that..

Stephen Ross and the Discrimination Lie

"Dolphins owner Steven Ross ran the blackest organization in the NFL sportswriter Jason whitlock, who he's done, right? He's done a video for PragerU. And he's black. Two. Observed in a recent column. Again, dolphins owner Stephen Ross ran the quote unquote blackest organization in the NFL at one time, his head coach, general manager, assistant general manager, defensive coordinator, and several members of his ownership group were all black. At what point did mister Ross become a bigot when he decided to fire Brian Flores?

Brian Flores Files Discrimination Lawsuit Against NFL

"Most interesting story of the afternoon was Brian Flores. Late last afternoon on the West Coast. It's early evening on the east coast. I'm starting to do my show prep, and I see Brian Flores, who was head coach of the Miami Dolphins for a couple of years, has just unloaded on the NFL. Alleging discrimination against black coaches. And he shot at the NFL and his complaint, and he hit it, but he really took out Bill Belichick. Because Bill Belichick thought he was texting somebody other than Brian Flores. And he was texting, I think Brian did all telling him. Hey, the fix is in. Don't worry, there's the paraphrase I don't have in front of me. Don't worry, Brian, you've got this job, you're gonna get this job. They told me you've got the job. Good for you. You're gonna do great with a giant Brian Florence was in the about to head off to interview at New York Giants land. He had to go through a charade because of the Rooney rule. The Rooney rule requires that you hire at least one African American. You interview at least one African American for every opening for GM and head coach. I think that's the Rooney rule. Now the browns have actually lived by the Rooney rule. They had Hugh Jackson as their head coach. They got the amazing Andrew Barry, who's maybe the best GM in football, both black men who are great professionals. You didn't do so well. But but you can't pretend. And I think Brian Flores, we've got to payday

"But if it's done in private is should be sustained private and we shouldn't destroy a person's life based on that. I like to judge somebody scotla. Hear me on this one. I strongly suggest that we judge people on their actions. Not their words and everything that i've heard from black players from all the players from the gay player. That's now playing on the on. The on on all the raiders. Well you not oakland. Oakland got on that every week san geles. My god i mean these. Los angeles raiders oakland. The fact is that he has not shown really a bone of pena prejudiced person. He hasn't actions have shown that right. And that's what. I like people to judge people on because i could tell you. You're the greatest person on earth. And then i treat you like hell. Well you know. I mean fight with his wife first girlfriend or whatever and he got drunk and he sent a shouldn't have and it's really ridiculous so you're going to destroy his livelihood and career for that good cancelled culture. I is that it's not right because one day they're gonna come and cancel. They're gonna come and kessler hugh. Yeah you big cancel culture people you make a mistake and lo and behold when you get cancelled feels and then you're to start saying well it's not fair. It was many years ago. Well you know what. I was a kid. I was only twenty two at the time. I was drunk. It doesn't matter. We're gonna cancel you this asset it. So what are we go with the sir with the jaguars i mean. I think we should win. This game scotty. I do too. And i think it's a must win for not an elimination game or eliminating. It's over. there's no playoffs for this team. And but it is possible possible death-knell for our tire coaching and front office. I mean it has the potential to be. If because you go over there you lose to a team like jacksonville. that's run by a guy. Like urban meyer. That's just you know there's a train. Wreck is a train wreck and then you lose that game apia this half you lose the locker room and and the players quit on you and it's not the battle. It's funny the battle. The sunshine state will happen in In london in letters no sunshine by the way guys in california. We're watching in our part any park. California six thirty in the morning. Yes i will be setting my alarm and probably not even getting bed. Probably you know brew coffee and sipa coffee. And maybe i'll even put something in the coffee to help me a little a little irish whiskey it through it. Yeah not a drinker like that. But i might be. Yeah wind sunday. The dolphins get drive us to anything but by look the series we have. We have very little history with With these jacksonville. Jaguars where four and three jacksonville jacksonville is. "I mean improvement two hundred we. We had twenty seven receptions. Two hundred seventy five yards. I can do the math on that one. Easy doctor of ten right there. I mean pretty cool man. Many i mean honestly improvements that we saw the thing that we didn't see is is the heart and fight on the defense defense is just rolling over. I got one more comment about coaching and quarterbacks. Okay so i'm jumping forward To the fourth quarter. Boy there's eight minutes left. The score is forty five to seventeen. There is no chance in hell for us to win at this point percent is hurt. He's limping right. Why do you keep him in the game and not put reached in at this point unexplainable. Were calling for him. Yeah that is coaching. The i do not understand why makes no sense. It comes to look at our tight end situation. Why do we have long that you mentioned early in early in the podcasts. About long being inactive. Probably what you say in that case. What the hell is this kid not active. I mean yes. How how. how's he not better than shaheen. how can he. Nowhere is in their best blocker. He's a great blocker. Yeah but why is that in there especially can't even remember the other guy's name who's the other guy. Carter car is a carter. Carbon or shaheen carter. Yes yes right why. Nigeria and why do we activate. This is another way you want to get now. I don't wanna get pissed. But i am going to get a little pissed. Why do we activate ford over merit. I did the board catches surpass. What say afford. He caught a great pass for three yards. Yeah that was his contribution. Meredith merit was electrifying. Various guy that we shouldn't practice. It's it's almost like thought. I thought foster from what i saw of him was better better. But no we we bring it up and we don't bring heating make the team. We don't bring meredith and so again this. A lot of question of mystifying moves mystifying. So you know maybe it would make more sense if we were on the staff and we were there watching them on a day by day everyday basis and it would be clear. We have such a small sample size to go by right the days that you were at practice that couple of days there and and what we saw in preseason. Yeah well we're where we saw wilson become a practice darling superstar now. He can't catch the ball. It's really baffling. What's going on with this team. But also the fact that we can't get a turnover not getting. I mean we were getting turnover. I mean we we under twenty seven. I don't even know that's a record as a team record right or is it not even twenty four straight. But we're not getting as mayor. Nfl leading we weren't getting We're not getting turnovers as far as like a in big numbers we're getting won a game and that's it i mean it's it's it's troublesome troublesome but now yeah this is really troublesome. What's going on i reach. I i wanna say something positive about special teams but even the punts were.

"I i looked at his worst game ever to me. Honestly scott i look at the numbers on. Hey sky like a perfect passing radio almost against so it's horrible. We looked him because he was so fast for a linebacker. But also i also thought very right. You've seen him and blitz. Well i did see him on a blitz like one one. Good congratulations okay. i'll admit something else too. When percent got hurt and they cardi him off to the locker room. Didn't think it was bizarre that he just came immediately back back in the car right in the game back in the cart. Yeah that was kinda cool. I think you had to go to the bathroom. And he didn't wanna do he didn't want do like jackson. You know and look. I walk around all funny. How people laugh at him with social media so he said take me in the cart. That's what happened emmer. And he had to go to the bathroom. Nothing happened to them. Nothing happened yeah. He's fine hamstring and he was limping. That was obvious. He must be a hell of an actor alex because he lent the whole rest of the game. I have to admit something is that. He was so bad with his inaccuracies. Not being able to hit guys on the outside or guys to yards down the field you know do an ultra short crossings and stuff like that that i even though i know he's probably more skilled and better and every way than read senate. I wanted to see read senate at this point. I'm mike i i've seen enough to know that there's nothing there that's gonna help us win games and it's really frustrating to watch and so you know maybe some guy just slinging it. All over without a care is is going to be more fun than this. I wanted to see. Read senate at that point. Yeah but he's never gonna get an injured percent is still better than read. Senate is that what the coach said you know. He had a quarterback rating of fifty nine point. One i've seen worse okay. Well seen worse too but it's it's just terrible it just yes it we don't have we gotta get to a back man. This is a baby. This is to as chance if this line is beginning to improve little which to the naked. I did look a little better this week against our stout defensive line right. They did very well. I thought they did yes. I thought they did. And i think there's a positive people. It took five games to figure out. Why tackle should be there. If trend where they're getting better than you know the second half of the season might not be so bad. And i think i think that that's where it all starts right. And yes that is where it starts in the trenches for sure if our defensive line is getting better as we're using phillips more and he's getting a rhythm and we're getting pressure with a four-man rush and not having to scheme blitzes all the time and just do it when it's a surprise or you know when it can make a big difference stuff like that rather than being predictable or blitzing all the time and exposing our corners who we thought were the best and look like the worst. Now they're really bad showing that we had i mean they they. It's funny. how brady kept picking on. On howard i know. Abc smoked them all day long and then he got beat by god..

"We have multiple all suck. Here's the key. Look at the look at our defense which was supposed to be our our feather in the cap. The miami dolphin defence. Yes okay behind. I was hook and stoked sinker. D- everything all the way in on this defense check this out our deficit's thirtieth in football giving up four hundred twenty two yards a game thirtieth and giving points over almost thirty one points a game and only kansas city and seattle's worse than us in the entire nfl. And i'll be honest with you. We don't adult also getting hurt for sure. We had a worse offense than seattle kansas city. So we were that bad now. We say well. Let's go to the other side of the ball. I guarantee you that we're gonna be better on offense an offense right well. Well i mean we're not right. Say you were you hope. There's no point where i thought that. Well let's say hopefully we would think that but here we are again. We are two hundred sixty one yards. Averaging per game the only team works is chicago at two forty and the jets at two sixty seven are ahead of us. It doesn't change it really it. We are in the bottom of the barrel in in every says testicle every anywhere you turn. We're there there has to get better than it has to get better and you know the schedule. We said about the football gods in indianapolis that came back to bite us in the ad. But now we're facing two of the worst to lowly teams to too. but how lowly are they. Let's look at look at defense. When you look at defense. I mean atlanta atlanta's way ahead offense and jacksonville. Is we really have no. Yeah so they stay with us. There's some cool stuff coming that we're going to talk about including we're doing a mutual podcast next week for that. I can't wait for that. That's really cool. So i i was calling for positives. I liked what i saw from phillips this week. How does he look grade. Wise looks okay. i saw his. I finally got a sack. He i also saw frenetic like down there and have completely whiffed on on a on a tackle but okay whatever it happened Philip looks better man. He's applying pressure pop. My balloon the one that you know the thing but the bugs me is is why are we not rushing baker more baker look terrible this game he looks. He was getting burnt in getting an echo..

"We saw early in the season when we did our preseason thing. I said that there was going to be a guy's gonna break a record and that several guys one was gaskin right and the other was sanders and sanders. This piece of junk offices running but gas the play calling. You'll bartrum out there. I'm just going to get a field goal. Which is not going to kick it at all. But gaskin was finally used and his numbers were incredible. Yeah i mean of course we were proponents of having brown in there especially during passing situation to certain yeah to see saw how well he blocked and how horribly gaskin blocked look at gaskin guy got in there and he was targeted at ten times. And you know how many receptions it was exciting lost count. Ten are new. There was a lot. Yes seventy four yards and not one two. Tv's okay we finally started using him the way we thought we needed to use them. That's right it's catching the line can bar cashing the pelota. If people can pick up the extra rusher or the linebacker the corner whatever. That's coming in then absolutely. He's clearly head and shoulders. Better running back then. Brown is offensive weapon. Catching the ball. Run the ball. He's got a good move. He's got some quickness. The reason that you know we said brown is because he had the worst blocker rating of any running back in the nfl but look talk about blocking rating Did you see. I can burn. I did okay. Came in at seventy seven point. Six of any offensive lineman in this. Yes yes. here's another thing that gets me about. Coaching about lack of hills. Me about coaching is because we already had that. Example we saw jackson sucking and then jackson missed a game and started at left tackle and had a higher rating than any other offensive linemen..

"Doesn't matter and the and the reason is this cop before we get into the game so you just. I looked at some numbers of the wide receivers. We went to overtime. And it's still felt like a shellacking. Let me let me give you some interesting numbers here. Check this out go. There was some rookies that were picked last year. And you know we know what happened in the draft. We we covered. It lasts we covered. It'd be correct many times okay. So let's just look at those rookies that were picked last year. And how rookies looking up. Okay the first. Continuous comparison is fair. So shays right now. Has thirty four targets. Twenty who the to all dolphins drafted in our alternate reality. Where we're gm's and he had. He has twenty three receptions for four hundred and fifty six yards almost twenty yards a catch and five so then we say well okay. Well chases extra-special we knew he gonna be a generational calvin johnson. Yeah calvin johnson remember that the guy the guy. I wanted him because he was exceptional. Collide early the best. And that's what we needed. That's why we beat the drums for this kid and we thought we had something extremely special ourselves in our hands and texas was so bad last year. The texans well. So so that's that's chase and then we say well who was the second receiver taken us waddell okay. Let's see how he's done. Thirty-five targets one more than than chase targets. Don't mean shit when he seven receptions for more than chase but two hundred thirty one yards untouched. Okay half the half literally half of chase but you say well who else has been around. Well how about this. Tony guy and one fifth of no way. Let's go to smith the third receiver taken. We could've stayed there and have grab smith well well on the first trade back again. Doesn't our book doesn't count because we would not have done that. Okay go okay. We wouldn't have done it now. But let's say the world. Okay chase at thirty eight targets. Twenty five receptions three hundred and fourteen yards and two hundred models and much like two or three touchdowns but do i blame waddell. No no not but let's look at number. Let's look at number four tony. Tony has twenty five targets twenty receptions two hundred eighty one yards and he's only played a couple of games so that's incredible that's only two and then just for fun pits dirty. Four targets twenty four receptions a lot.

"Team has taken us to a level that it's gonna take a complete cleaning of the house again. You totally clean. And that's gonna that's gonna set a franchise back. I still have this little internal core like of flow. Even though i see his flaws. I see that i like them too. He is incapable of hiring good coordinators. He is incapable of of being. I don't know a boss to the staff gets again. You just look at the records and stuff. He gets more out of less a lot. Well but what are you doing this year to you right up until these this year. He did this. We're gonna get out. We're going to get into it a little bit later. Numbers but our defense has collapsed. I cannot believe it. I loved this defense offense. I was that this was a top five defense in the nfl drafted them. I'd after i don't remember who drafted them. I drafted him and drop them. And you picked him up fantasy league and then you drop them. Yes i did this smart. And i told you when you did smart move. Yeah so anyway. Yeah yeah. I still saw that eventually. The opportunism was gonna come out and it's gone the opposite way Especially this game. I mean we knew. Tampa is super bowl winning team there. There's no illusions about us winning this game. It was a miracle any given sunday for us to win this. Let me ask you this and now you open the door super bowl winning team. That's atlanta Sorry now atlanta. Let coming down the line. That's where we go see is in the super bowl winning team. No okay. i'm gonna give you a couple of numbers. Neither are the raiders game. I'm going to give you a number. The bills could be okay. Twenty does not twenty two point three seconds twenty two minutes and fifty one seconds time possession versus thirty seven onen. That's a common theme right there. Okay that was the indie game last week. Now let's go to your super bowl champions tampa bay twenty two point five three. We had time of possession. In this game we reversed. No no no that was that. That's that's the timeline that we have okay and same as the other that tampa bay had it for thirty seven zero nine so basically a two second difference between the super bowl champions and the indy phenomenal team. That got rolled over by yesterday by by the ravens. So basically forget the super bowl champion. We can't play anybody ravens game. Eerie is that eerie scott. Look at those numbers. Now let me tell you. Total number of place tampa ran seventy one plays on us. Indie.

"Know the whole game. Basically what i said was if we run the ball should be like five times yes to yes and it's a little bit right so when they go. I asked to such a dime and you know. Basically if they're going to permanent dime then you start running the ball a little bit scott then then you open the door for this. Then why the hell that we. I know us getting ahead. You hate when. I do this but i have to do it. Why did we run the ball at the five yard. Line twice why. I like to go. I also know your head is about to explode. A mine exploded last week. When i'm sitting there going first of all i want you to run the ball period. Why the hell's the first drive. I do you do that do that. Why did that that. I think just amaze me my my comment here is moving the ball. We're throwing it just like alex said just like tony romo said and then we get down to inside the ten and my exact words are idiotic. Play calling wants in the twa diesel. And what did i write up to the second run. I said feel you did why because it's honestly why. Run there because we set up the field goal. I mean we're going to beat. We're going to beat a team with field goals. We are moving down the field by passing the ball idiots exact words idiots total fucking idiots. Yep so i'm don. Okay okay he. I gotta ask you so i'm going to. I'm nasa officially done with the offensive coordinator situation florida's this. Yeah we're done. Experiment did not work failure. It's a complete fucking failure failure. Heads neater i. You sent me that big. Oh interview with omar which we who. The two people are really not my favor not high on my christmas. They were on the day. We're on the money. And and omar himself said we lose against jacksonville and there will be head presented to us Right because in order for flow to take action motivate. Whatever whatever it is he asked to send the message that he and he will chop somebody's head off and serve it up. And i totally agreed with garissa dysfunctional. I rarely agree with mark kelly. Yeah i know. I know but i like i like. Oh you know i. I've always been a big fan. I know sometimes we with him. Well when he was on the radio fans all the time he hit a lot of things on the money. And you know. I really since then maybe not so much. He has loved greer and we have not so well. He's i think he's about to jump off. That boat isn't everyone. Yeah i think they left is going to be green. You know agreer years you get us. I guess accolades for accumulating all those picks but in the end storing them here came true. The they're basically all fucked up. The team has fucked up as a result of it. We don't have the talent level that we should have with all those first round. Picks and second round picks that were accumulated as a result of wrecking the team. Cutting your f-bomb you've got like three hundred so i wanted people are you know i. I am pissed of what's going on in miami. But i gotta say that that the overall would greer has done to this dolphin..

"Who was not a bad draft. Pick but has just seems to be always hurt. I mean well was erica jeff. This week that said the glass wide receiver core. Not sure they're all mentioned plus and they have been for quite a while things. Scotty we got Basically of are receiving cord. I mean you know we got guys that are already been out for the year but basically six receivers have injury questions right. Yeah when you think about it Fuller has gone but what's amazing fuller. He's found three different ways to miss games. We knew about the suspension. Yeah but then. He had the personal issue. Okay and then. Of course his famous i are broke. His finger broke his finger. So he's out minimum of three or more weeks and so we have fuller. We have of course parker. With a history of injuries we have hearns which already was putting the we. We have In who we still. We all liked a lot very versatile player but also injured. I mean it's just like the whole receiving cord. It seems like they have a history. Yeah and i remember about are receiving core in the off season. We've got this huge. Massive monica is all talented. Yeah well Boy that's where we are all right so the game opens up. My first note is kinda funny. We've given love to tony romo in the past of all the people to listen to during game a week complain about an awful lot of them because they suck. Hey let me do a quick preface here jump in and say i don't normally swear sometimes we get worked up in a swear word comes out or something but i'm gonna swear during this podcast today. So if you're sensitive to shit and fuck then maybe not listen to this one. Sorry about that. So yeah so this like a joke in there. Wow okay okay. All right i'm gonna let it go. Oh my first comment is romo is so smart. He's very alex like in that he said on the broadcast. I want to see them. Throw the ball. The first twenty plays guy without. Isn't that essentially what you said. I don't remember. I hope it was on the podcast last week. Maybe one of our conversations we should just throw the ball until.

Football Booster Club Raffles Firearms, Concerning Some Parents

"Us what the cedar cliff. Colts booster club. Did and how it was received. Well you know a lot of these district clubs are what support In particular football those are what support the team. It helps them get the new equipment. New jersey Things of that nature the things that keep them safe and and they're usually charged with you know making a raising x. amount of money and they're all volunteer booster clubs are all volunteer programs. Almost all just made up with the parents because the players and or the cheerleaders and this year has been particularly hard to raise money. Because you know restaurants aren't giving you know is is. They're reluctant to give away anything free. Which is what they traditionally do or give away free meals In support of the booster club. You know this kids will buy a certificate and then they go around and they try to sell her raffle well. It's become incredibly impossible for these young people to raise money so they came up with the idea of having a raffle. There's ten different items on the raffle of those ten five variety of different kinds of guns. Now in dolphin and and cumberland counties because this this school district covers both Owning a gun is as common is only a car or a chart country this is hatred on thing and target shooting and and so you know they decided to have a raffle and gowns for part of it now. If the if you wanna gun eat it went one it. You got two hundred dollars dead. But there was one parent who took exception to this role and took it to the school district and the school district in. Its great wisdom that i understand your feelings however we have no jurisdiction over this.

Miami Dolphins WR Will Fuller to Miss Buffalo Bills Game With Personal Issue

"Breaking news out of miami gardens. The miami dolphins will be without wide receiver willful or for sunday's matchup versus the buffalo bills. The team is calling it. A personal issue and brian flora's even when as far to say there was a possibility for may not suit up the rest of the season. Obviously a lot of unknowns. But what were your thoughts. Jake when you first heard this friday afternoon. Josh first and foremost i mean the seed blake first weekend forever where the dolphins were gonna have a completely clean injury report willful or was the only one who wasn't listed as a full participant in practice on both thursday and friday. But just i do have to say. I think we're kind of over-reacting about this. A little bit will fuller was in the building wednesday. I believe he was actually in the building thursday as well. I'm concerned for some things are bigger than football. I don't necessarily know. I mean ryan floors declined to say preston. Williams who is fully active is going to be playing on sunday. So i think that's more displays being bryant floors as much as odd. This is something that's gonna completely ruin season. I hope that isn't the case. I hope everything is all right for him and you know. We can't really speculate on too much by terms of what's happening on the field. It's gotta be a little disappointing to not see him out

Chris Rodriguez Jr. Named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week

"If you saw the game on saturday night between missouri and kentucky. You saw a lot of chris broderick against junior monster game. The co offensive player of the week in the sec and he joins us now from lexington. First of all chris congratulations. I know you're team. You wanna move ahead but man what a what a performance it was fun it a good one. Let's let's go back in and that was a huge game. Everyone knew how important it was for the cats to beat missouri Take us through the week of preparation. We head coach on thursday night. And it i'd say you guys were ready to play that that would be the understatement of the year sir so throughout the we just knew that we had abba chip on our shoulders because last year you know we felt we were prepared but our energy just wasn't there so we felt like we all wanna coaches told us like. Are you going to let them out play you. Are you going to let them out. Execute you and we knew we couldn't let that happen again so we went in with the mindset that we had to go in this game of wanna ask you about that because fans like like the folks that i talked to her every day we get. We get hung up on what happened last year and and and wonder often whether it carries over but coach stage said the exact same thing i mean. How do you eighty psychological here transfer. How do you transfer that bad feeling into you does it. Does it affect the way you practice. Prepare because you're you're supposed to be dealing with the techniques of it. I mean motion is part of football. But i'm really curious how that affects you as a player so one We had a video from last year where they showed beauvoir sidelines. I think kelvin. Joseph have made a good tap on the sideline and then they were getting Hype and they showed are sidelined. Dolphins was obvious on the bench or whatever and we were just sitting. There are cheering or nothing. You know he showed us that video in it. Obviously practice a lot harder throughout the week.

"Few minutes to brainstorm while you work. Let's listen to some soothing. Hold music dream. After working hard all day stopped a chirp drinking shit surfing sneaky. Smarties come on. Let's go away are. Are you guys ready. Yes yes marcel europe. Tell us why we should hire. Team horse Well first of all horses are very down to earth okay. They're not swimming around in the abyss. They can run your children away from danger if needed I don't know if your children could survive in the water but they can't survive on land. A horse is a great babysitter because hey is cheap. So they're very affordable practical They're great teachers. They're young walk after one day. So there you go and small horses are ponies and all children love ponies very persuasive. Alright jada your turn tell us why team dolphins babysitting jobs are tops. Yes so dolphins can actually swim in pretty shallow waters so you can drop your kids off at the kiddy pool for some fun supervised time with the dolphins. They'll get to splash around and learn how to swim with some of the swimmers in the ocean They can play fetch because dolphins are incredibly intelligent and they loved place they'd also play to they could do flips and they could watch the dolphins. Do all those fun tricks and leap around to keep the kids amused. It would basically be the most unique and fun babysitting experience you've ever had who these are both super good options preecha.

"And they're pretty big. They're usually between six and twelve feet long and they can weigh anywhere between three hundred and one thousand four hundred pounds but there are actually over forty species of dolphins including the amazon pink river dolphin. Yeah dolphin and the creatively named false killer whale which like the real killer whale. He's actually adult thin. Dolphins like humans are mammals which means they breathe air. Like we do so they have to come up to the surface every so often to take a breath before heading back into the water the average dolphin can hold its breath for eight to ten minutes. I highly doubt a horse could do that. Dolphins are also incredibly social animals. And there's some of the best communicators in the animal world. Remember those clicks. I told you about well. Dolphins also seem to use those sounds to talk with each other some rain. Scientists think they make special noises to tell each other about the location of delicious fish or to work together on task. In fact research suggests some dolphins even have names for each other and get this researchers even think dolphins in different regions have different dialects. A dialect is language that is specific to a certain region. Like how in minnesota we call so and in wisconsin. A water found is called the bubbler. Dolphins have even been known to pause to listen to each other and wait before they respond. Most animals talk all at once without any real sense of conversation.

"Would like to talk a little bit about logistics really. When is the best time to swim with the dolphins Right out of binnie and also. When is the best time to swim with the spinner dolphins on the big island. So you can't. It's very difficult to swim with the spinner dolphins. When when we were going years and years ago there were very few people that were there in the bay and you could just swim out and be with them and then what happened. Was a lot of tourists. Started going and busloads. Who'd go and they you'd get in kayaks. They would chase the dolphins in boats would chase them so they passed a law that you can't get within two hundred yards of a dolphin or it's twenty five thousand dollar fine so it's much more prohibitive to be with them In hawaii that said there are a couple of people that do they go out on boats and they call the men. One of whom is joan ocean. Who who. I know from years and years ago in the bay and she is a dolphin. She is in complete alignment with them. So if you ever going to go to hawaii that's who you'd wanna go with. And in many they are actually one of two people who have license to swim with wild dolphins and whales and and so it's legal and as i said they're very respectful of the dolphins and the environment and they do it with such awareness and consciousness. That if you were going to go with anyone to me. I much prefer now than hawaii because hawaii. You've gotta swim out quite a long ways. It's really deep. You can't see what's under there and it can be choppy and windy and in. It's it's gorgeous. Just it's easy. It's easy and the people that i go with at wild quest. They they know the dolphins they have long standing relationships. They have names for all of the dolphins and the dolphins are used to interacting with humans. Because they're so many groups that go there throughout the season and the season generally runs this year. It's a little different because of of what we've been through. Were still getting the details but it'll probably run from may to the end of Tober perhaps and you know that might need a little judgment in the front end on may but normally in a normal season. They're the season runs from april until the end of october and in hawaii. The my favorite times were Mid spring and mid fall the summer just a little too hot and winters a little too cold for me and then of course on bikini the for me. I like to be at the beginning of hurricane season as opposed to the end of hurricane season because hurricanes tend to ramp up towards the end of hurricane season. So you always want to travel insurance when.

"Welcome alison to the show. I'm it's so great to have you here. Thank you so much for inviting me gail. I know we're gonna have a really wonderful conversation about our beloved angels of the c. I have the movie. Dolphins have touched my life. And i haven't been in the water with dolphins in a long time. I think twenty thirteen. I was in the water with wild. Dolphins just curious. How did your love for dolphins start. Well it started a long long time ago. I've always had an affinity for them. And i lived in santa barbara for many years and i'd often see the dolphins just right off the beach and call them in and say oh come to me come to me and i. I have this affinity for them. And they're very telepathic and so they often times come close in. And i got to experience my. I swim with wild dolphins in hawaii about twenty seven years ago. A friend of mine said who. I'm gonna go to the big island. We're gonna go swim with wild dolphins. You should come and went. Y'all there and the very first time i had to swim out about a half a mile in to obey their beautiful beautiful waters of course and i got out in the middle of pot of about thirty Spinner dolphins which really playful fund dolphins. And i started diving into the water and swimming with them and they'd come up really close in. They look in the eye and their sonar would go through. My body and i was completely transformed by that experience. I could feel the reverberation of their sound go through my body and feel their love in their joy and i came out of the water and took my mask off and i was still pretty far out in the ocean and i was sobbing. Tears of ecstasy. I felt like a five year old. Who has just had the greatest experience of her life and could not stop crying. These tears of joy. And i felt like i was more home than i had ever been in my life. And that's how i got started..
