"You're willing to. Build it. We Need New Hockey Barn a hockey arena to get in a minor league team. Soccer I? I like DOC stadium I liked that situation for Dayton Dutch lines, I think that's a perfect base there. But if you're talking USFL to, you might want to look at your own venue I. I mentioned to Michael That longtime ago. Rumors that the Dayton Dutch lions, we're going to build on the northeast corner of Yankee Nicic seventy five, which if you go by that, often you know a lot of trees. Also South you hospital cross away and date mall not too far either there's a lot of shopping to do around there. That be pretty nice place I mean most people drive six, seventy, five north or South, and they'll see it I mean, it's kind of Nice now again, this is suburbs not entirely Dayton Ohio. That Centerville or Miami's Park I think it's more Washington township but that's not important. We need a place to build. And I mentioned get together I feel like. Sports, fans there. I mean sure there's bars and everything, but there's not like one thing that unites all sports fans together. For me I I like any sports and I'll talk sports with anyone. You know this podcast exists. So there's proof that can. And the third point is be proud of Dayton like I mentioned Dayton has a lot going forward and yes, it's a little bit tarnished because downtown's all these places are shutting down while the Arcades building backup. That'd be a nice place for Sports Storm Hint hint out there. I mean fifth third. Fifth? Third. Field did a lot of great for downtown now at Stay Air Ballpark I mean that that area's very nice. I think something like that for another sport would be quite nice. But that goes back two point one you need to build a before they come so. But Yeah we can have sports as paradise here in Dayton Ohio. And I think we can get it done but we need everyone to group together and. Just, like sports loved in Ohio. You know it's not just the Gateway of America but you drive by it's like I. Heard of that I think they made flight there or something. So there you go. That's my whole take on its. Can Agree, disagree. I mean, you can have your own opinion on it. You can think I'm total wack job and saying no Dayton doesn't have any business being in sports. I mean I have the opinion that you're the job for saying that. But Hey, you know there's that. Just got a notification on my phone Antonio Brown suspended eight games. But he's not. With a team..

"Into the city all week all wearing red and gold by the way because for the first time in Super Bowl history the teams share the same colors. Even though the forty niners are a little more on the scarlet side while the crowds are gathering all around. Hard Rock. DOC Stadium I've set up shop nearby in the sleepnumber booth at the media center a giant space where their camera crews and makeshift ships studio setup people milling around a lot of football players. And it's Kinda crazy here but a lot of fun. My guest. Today is the devoted football football fan. In fact he might be the biggest chief span of all time enemies here wearing head to toe Kansas city chiefs gear Eric Stonestreet stonestreet. Who Plays Cam Tucker on modern family? It is time for some farm justice that home and we have to alphabet as we lock them in in and let them fight it out. This is between manny and Luke. Come on let's go cow cow. Oh and help yourself to gingerbread person. They're both gluten and gender gender free. Hi Eric Stonestreet nine so happy to see you so happy to see you the nicest people on the planet you are thank you. That means a lot coming from you. Because you're one of the nice we try. Don't ask. You are obviously pretty darn jazzed Eric. Because you are here to jeer on your team city so excited going on but but about come September October this is basically all I wear in my wardrobe. Really you know. Look it's comfortable all it. It makes a statement it represents what I love football Kansas City but no. I'm very excited. I've been a fan of the chiefs since since I was a little kid. You know my aunt and uncle got me To go in their season tickets and then my dad got season tickets when I was maybe in. Eighth or ninth grade. I had season tickets. It's all through college and then of course moved to Chicago and Los Angeles but always maintained my chiefs fandom knowledge you know football knowledge. Recognize all these guys walking around legends. I just saw. There's John Randall. Look there's Anthony Munoz. I know so much about football. So being here and now representing the chiefs in representing my team and having a reason to be at Super Bowl so fun now. Did you play football when you were younger I did. I told Anthony Munoz. I had a poster of him in my room room Even though he was a Cincinnati Bingo and I was chief's Fan I said I had a poster in my room because I wanted to be an offensive tackle but I never got big enough or good at football really. I played in high school and I was fine but never to the level that I would ever have garnered any you grew. I mean you grew to love the sport to play it but also just as a superfan just just a fan and just love the game. Love love everything about it and you met a lot of players. I Know Eric Eric when you were younger. You growing up in Kansas City. And there's one actually very moving story. You met a young player at a mall signing named Joe Delaney. Can you tell us that story. Yeah I was at I was at Indian Springs Mall and there were two players out signing autographs him. J T Smith I believe was the other one. But I got Joe Delaney's autograph autograph and that sort of was the moment that you know you look back of like winded your Fan Fan Hood Start for rain. It was all six Six or seven seven or eight. You know Because I I don't remember what year he passed away. But then of course I got his autograph in it and he played I think think that next season and then he he passed away trying to save a kid in Hillis drowning in drowning and he drowned. He drives off Yup. I think it was going to be. That was so heartbreaking. Free going to be one of the greatest I guess. Nineteen eighty-three or something. I'm not sure what the year was. Yeah yeah he died in one thousand nine hundred eighty so I would have been probably probably a ten win that when I met him and so it was shortly thereafter where this accident took place a year or so after that you know. I can't help help but ask you one question about this Eric because I just came from Los Angeles because I was at a stand up to cancer scientific summit Eric by the way has been incredibly supportive of the work. We're doing it. Stand up but boy Los Angeles was just If a city could cry by Los Angeles was crying stunned. I was in Kansas City When I found out the news immediately reflected on you know as we all do what our our personal experience was an has been with people that we've lost or passed away in the story that came to mind for me was He came to the set of modern family. One day he we got word that. Hey Kobi's come into modern family. We're like what. And so he comes in and watches US rehearse shoot and he was just sitting there. Just I paint taking it all in and I said so. What do you think coby and he goes? Well it's cool you guys rehearse because it's like a setting in an offense you know you have to be here so she can be here and then if you move that way then this person counters does this so it's really neat for me to see all this happen and then at the end I said so. What made you come today? And he goes you know I woke up this morning and I just I felt like I wanted to watch something funny and what I thought that was so cool like most people. Just turn on the TV and watch something or Kobe. Bryant's like no. I'm going to go to a set set in the sound stage and watch something and then he says and plus. You told me to stop by sometime. Covy he goes. You did last year. You told me to stop by and I'm like well well. Yeah but who knows if he was serious I know I told him to stop by but he knows if he was serious about passing like. Yeah but the fact that he remembered for that and then represented made a joke about it but came in in so hungry to learn the in. He referenced that you know. Why would I go to any other show? You guys are the best. I WanNa Watch the best. Do what they do in every time I saw him was just so delightful in such a nice person and always with his family and always introduce and pictures and whatever just heart heartbreak said for all those Fan Moscow's families and those young girls and a lot of the surviving children address left of that one family without a mom or dad or a sister. Just I don't know but obviously we're continuing to keep Vanessa Asa Bryant and our prayers because It's GonNa be a long difficult road for her. And I thought what what Barack Obama President Obama said you you know. He was just getting started on his second act and I do believe he would have done great things but I hope absent of that. You know people will be inspired to do great things they did. I think that's what he did while he was living and I think that's his legacy. He'll continue to do that after he's gone. Yeah well getting back to. I'm going to talk talk to you about modern family which is ending soon. I'm sure you're sad about that. But but let's let's get back to football just a few minutes You you you go to almost every game. How do you do that with your schedule? Well this season with Patrick Mahomes. I just decided that this was a year. I wasn't going to miss a game so I went to every chiefs home game this year with the notion that we would be here. I having gotten to know the general manager of the Cheese Brett. Vh Andy Reid. The head coach a little bit and Mark Donovan. The president you know I just really felt like given what I listen to them. Say this was we were going to make it to the Super Bowl this year. And there's plenty any of documentation of me saying that. And I'm not a cocky guy. I don't want to put the cart before the horses type of thing but it just felt like we were so close last year our roster got better this year so given that we should make we should go to.

"A fifteen sixteen seventeen nineteen year old girl is not going to be interested in your twenty nine year old ass. That's almost a given to me. I'm really old and I assume anyone who's ten years younger than me does not even see me as a sexual being at all. I'm an old husk of a man who probably was vibrant at some point but at this point now now is just dust walking waiting to be returned to the ground. And that's a very sensible assumption if someone would come to me and prove otherwise that would be in my mind a very singular case that would be the case of one person probably with daddy issues. Who finds me attractive? But I would not generalize that to everyone whereas pornography has taught me that if I am on the train and there's attractive girl in front of me. If she sees penal member she will then react to positively which in real life is. Not True. Porn has has lied to US and poor. I think has made lied to this person too much. Because I bet his primary education interacting with women and sexuality comes from pornography now he even tested the waters previously by showing her an image of male genitalia. He essentially tested the waters and he had not received a positive reaction so despite having negative feedback at the beginning of this process he still felt it was a good idea to go through with it and that to me he is the bit sort of baffles me. Completely because if he had said Oh I've accidentally showing you a male penis. I don't know if there's different kind but go with that. I I should turn off my phone and I go. No no no show me more. That would be a positive reinforcement. You've done the right thing but she was like you. That's gross your gross us and I don't WanNa see you anymore and yet he thought I still gotta shot here. If you wanted to keep his job. He had defend his position. What did he do he? He said I was wearing underwear. His defense was not know that did not happen. His defense was not no. I did not show the kids kids dirty pictures even presumably by accident. His defense was yes. My pants fell off twice but I was wearing underwear. Therefore it's okay and he should keep his job. He said he apologized for his shorts dropping but it was unintentional. Oh and of course if it's unintentional. Then he should not be held responsible for it and you get to keep his job and continue to spend his time with high school girls the board of Education -cation or the school administrators or whoever was in charge of this made the sensible decision and removed him from his position and he will not be teaching high school kids in that capacity acidy anymore so the Japanese government wanted to introduce a new element to the entrance exams for universities they wanted to have an English component. It was made by a private company right. Now it's all done by public or or government agencies in that might be not as effective because they wanNA use the towing or Tofu fool or something like that. Something made by a company with set an international standard. The problem is that would make attending the exams more expensive and more difficult because those have to be held. It's sort of exempt centers around the country students who live far away in the country to get to them so that costs money. He tests themselves. Because it's a private organization costs money and they're quite expensive on a lot of people were asking questions to the Education Minister. He said students should compete. Pete for university spots in this is in quotes in accordance with their standing now what he meant was financially. So what the Minister of education inadvertently only said was. If you don't have enough money you do not deserve to sit. The exempt go to a university so the Minister of Education has made very clear that he believes that rich people deserve better access to education then even middle class people or poor people so really what he said was if it costs more money poor people can fuck off of course very quickly afterwards. He had to release an apology policy in his apology. He said he wants to create a system where everyone can sit for exams with ease. which is the exact opposite of what he said when he said poor people can fuck off off? They don't deserve to go to university the honestly sit and spin on it. That seems like a surprisingly different opinion from his original statement. The idea yeah that it should be an open system where everyone can sit for. Exams seems very different. From people should only be able to take exams. In accordance with their standing society financially financially speaking poor people can buckle unsurprisingly. Other ministers jumped on him pretty good and shit on him pretty solidly. Because is the guy's obviously an elitist asshole and should not be in the position of being in charge of education in Japan yet. Surprisingly he has not stepped down from his position but they they have taken his idea for the program the private sector test idea and put that on hold. They're going to reexamine it and the earliest it would be implemented as twenty twenty four now. Well the interesting bit there is. There is a good chance that he will not be minister in twenty twenty four disconnecting him from this test system. But I'm wondering if this goes to what I was talking about earlier with politicians making deals he may have made a deal with a private company. And that's quite shady and he still wanted to go through because maybe he's already been paid but it is good to know that the people running your education system in your country. What kind of people they are? especially if they're elitist Ethel's who tell poor people able to fuck off to Japanese post managers have been fired haven't been arrested yet but they probably will be what they did was embezzled five hundred and forty million yen by selling used stamps as new stamps. So they had these stamps that are marked for shredding. Maybe there's a small error on them. They weren't printed correctly. Here's something that they took those stamps and sold them privately to companies and those companies think of by them at cost and they just kept that money. The only reason that this this is interesting. That's not a particularly interesting scam. It's pretty simple. You saw stuff going to be. throwaways saw an opportunity. I think anyone could put those two things together. You don't need to be a genius. needs to come up with this scheme. The interesting thing to me was it was two different post managers in two different areas. Doing the exact same thing at the same time both got caught around the same time. The I was way more aggressive. He actually did four hundred million yens worth of sales while the second was a bit more reasonable. He did one hundred and forty million dollars worth of sales over the last three years. The reason they got caught was not through any sort of internal process. The Post Office was essentially never going going to catch them. What happened was the taxation bureau found that the amount of tax the company the post office was paying compared to how much the companies were using stamp wise? Didn't match up. And then they went looking so it actually seems like the tax bureau in Japan is more effective than the post office at policing itself. Two very short things. I wanted to finish off with because they're not really worth talking about Indep but hawks stadium which is cool name. So there's the the hawks is a is a baseball team they are owned by Softbank. Softbank is going to rename hawks. Doc Stadium to pay pay Dole. which is a terrible name pay? Is the Softbank run cashless payment system. So it's one of those systems you put on your phone. I don't know if it connects to your credit card or you charge it. I'm just trying to decide which one of those actually used the future. I want to use one at all. But they're going to. I try to promote their cashless system by Renaming Hawks stadium which is an awesome named one of the most terrible names of ever heard pay dome and and just a follow up to a previous story. I was about Japanese beer. Shipments to Korea before they were down like seventy or eighty percent in September they. We're down ninety nine point nine percent so essentially. There was one box of beer shipped over from Japan to Korea and that probably went into a Japanese company. Or if I'm being really honest is because of the deterioration in the relationship between Japan and Korea. Right now it's gotten really tense actually have a bunch of lawmakers and ministers trying to fix it by talking to each other whereas the heads of the government. The Prime Minister and the president of both countries are absolutely not really willing to do that. They've been blacklisting each other and stuff Just just causing endless amount of headaches honestly for no reason at this point Korea's talking about wartime crimes and Japan's basically saying get over it and getting more learn more petty when I'm sorry really. They need to start looking forward into the future and figuring out that if they work together they would be way better off than this had. He infighting The benefit though is that young people particularly K pop and J pop groups are doing more to come to the other country to promote apiece. Maybe it's just a thing with old people who are in government in power and when they die off. All these K pop and J pop groups will come to the forefront and actually become political leaders and that will usher Japan and create into a new world of political unity and economic benefit for everyone. That's pretty hopeful. "With service is going in your employees aren't ripping you off just handing bottles out for free yes but I a I the one thing I feel strongly about is is the defense is going to be a head of an offense early on now because I think that everywhere I think so I mean unless you have an offense like I mean this states where those I mean drew Brees been player pretty kind of automatic almost yeah I think the difference of a listen Aaron Rodgers turn key a turn key on. listen Aaron Rodgers is going to be probably significantly. more fluid then naturally on but he's playing in a different office if you don't know what to expect I mean look I don't know what to really expect as much from into the second year of his office as well. the odds makers are telling you you know this better than I that did this even game played and the bears are favorite because it's played at Soldier Field although in fairness it opened higher so like when the line opens that's what that would tell you if the line if they open that line at the bears minus three would tell you it's the only reason it's bears ministries because it's at Soldier Field and if they're equal Vegas I has to adjust to the kind of volume that's coming in rock book the line open about four and a half of water for their point favor look I I think top to bottom obviously the Packers get the educator back no question yeah top to bottom outside and I know that that's very very important okay I think that there's a significantly better roster I think rob the musky was seen something similar that everyone is expecting his Packers team to be show improved because of the. maybe they will be but I got to see it before I believe it with all the personnel changes in the so called upgrades with their roster yeah I think the bears are better football team with one year under their belt was what their head coach is asking the quarterback to do with the defense that is lights out I just think the bears are touched down there touch down better than this don't you think the Packers are the sexy pack nationally and that's why the numbers come down because there's heavy action on the Packers in a lot of people like you have to build the sexy pic in the NFC north is the bears yeah most people I know but I'm fine with that and I'm totally cool with that it is a gamble or if I was a gambler I love the fact that the bears are only three point favorite at home in this game yeah I would love it now I'm at a loss of bull hanging up soon I don't have to make a petition to Thursday but I this thing reeks of a thirty one twenty seven final or that are just. twenty seven final point I'd be. a lot of. anything in. tell you why I have it at thirty one twenty seven file this this first came to bring the bring everything that happened everybody believes they've got a chance to win the Superbowl in week one not the dolphins in a. even they somehow maybe somewhere. somebody they will be on all I'm saying this is early is when everybody believes right then after about five weeks people get their teeth kicked in and get mashed in the head except for the Houston Texans world three and almost went on for almost one way to make the playoffs last year and I was just remember that there are eleven and find out what everybody believes and I think that's what you're gonna see to to mail back and for their Rogers with the floor maybe one of those receivers stepping up and having a better game than anybody expected because I look at they're looking for answers themselves I'd be surprised if it was that high scoring the game and I don't see too many of those around the league I will only tell you this also this way because we do we can't put out for the you can't account for special teams point stretch and you can't account for defensive touchdowns like you did last year right to twenty four twenty three game with a defensive touchdown by the bears wow now I have a new have a new special teams coordinator as well they can that happen as a defensive coordinator yes yeah but I mean who knows what it's gonna look like offensively for that the good thing for them is they start to seize would help the offense of line which they normally I mean it had a lot of offense of line issues keeping guys that whole unit healthy I do I think this is twenty three twenty three sixteen bears I I I know. I like the odd scored twenty three six I think it's a touchdown I think it's a touchdown win for that now I mean you look at some of the trends crazy you know the bears haven't won back to back games against the Packers since two thousand and seven yeah it's a long time for that is a great time yeah well Aaron Rodgers is good let's see which one of these. one side's basically with Rogers time kind of taken over he's gonna go down as one of the game's great quarterback I'm just wondering if. Brody's. I'm wondering if they'll finally come out and and this may sound stupid because Rogers is your quarterback but be more balance nobody attempted if you were rushing attack attempts on average than the Packers to and I got a kid that averages five and a half year I ever care people love their their they like him a lot it really. often back in front of forty five times the breakout candidate for the Packers to court and and a foundation yeah I don't know I am it's great that it's backed outside that is great in college football back some of the bad so I just went and the bad beats were. northwestern featured yeah you're correct I wish there were better games then great I think they set a record for the most top twenty five teams winning in a single week since like the eighty one is only one top twenty five match up and that was a good game that was the organ all right that was the otherwise it was your right very lopsided right in the law of the Notre Dame game is good for I have been out and then they broke out. the Oklahoma game was it at least entertaining based on what Jaylen hurts this six touchdowns good start for my god it's just nice to have it back it is isn't it I enjoy it it is good Tennessee went down at home right along with these three doors or just the state nine hundred and fifty thousand dollars to come in for that may be what do you think they're saying in Tennessee right all battle I only read out of my misery Wyoming beaten is not beat up on but they beat Missouri yeah how about also did you see Boise state beat Florida state in their own building there is a move that came from where it was supposed to be because of the weather the weather back to where Florida state plays all their games the doc stadium don't cry don't we don't talk Walker deal Campbell no talk. there you go you get better games this weekend so yeah there are. and I'm climbs and yeah yeah you get much better games already this week is it just we look I was thinking about this earlier today but you know me I've never been like this. easy football fan I just yeah we don't call you back a good crazy college football fan I like you know how the NFL as usual southern I went to. Chicago to. this is a pro town this is in a big college football town Illinois used to be good so at least you paid attention there you have a one day one you know what it is it's there's no pre season for college football so all these got like Auburn Oregon are risking their seasons by making that game like next year Alabama USC six is a lot of not so you've got teams that are willing to to risk their entire season off their very first well even my point I haven't even been a point yeah and you're already giving me host the show on Saturday there would still. answer I figured that that's what this is going to go my meatball. nine meatball thought of the day was for college football is when the NBA or NFL released their schedule you know Fred Hoiberg's not creating the bulls schedule it's not Jim Boylen creating the bulls schedule it's not done that many creating the bears schedule why can't we have our our leagues in conferences in NC double a make their make this scheduled you tell this team to play that team and and Nick Saban doesn't do that during conference play play yes but I would like to see a schedule where there are no Hey you come play me for a hundred thousand dollars yeah in let's play football right yeah how about like still be said how bout nobody's quite a bit. your one double a team eastern Illinois is going to play Indiana next week yeah like I don't I mean guess what's going to happen we're cashing a check and I'm gonna be them yeah I'd take the number now they covered against Indiana this weekend did that yes they did for that ball state's division one day no no I understand both the cover in the non gas championship know your football something or another you are not in the football bowl subdivision yeah where the non championship what are the. do that you should know exactly what the hell is going on they call it FBS and FCS they are you guys the football championships and why do we need to make the schedules ten years in advance we're team schedules a team and that like all their good now but then in five years from now they're not they're like well we scan years ago we thought they would go. for the non conference games they have to they just have to yeah because the NFL season isn't scheduled until April or may you know all the. you know you've got you've got hundreds of. three like Major League Baseball only having a standard one hundred forty two games and then the other twenty you can just play high school teams or you can play foreign teams no I mean it's. no more uniformity with what went there could be like amongst the power conferences so he's not crazy. every year right you for some sort of. the challenge I used to love it. in college during the college basketball season like one of the first teams where would come into play signal I would be mobile. mobile gasoline well. yeah. that was always fun or you get like the Yugoslav you twenty one team would come over he got a fourteen year old draws a better image playing against North Carolina yeah you know those great things fifteen year old kids playing. what a shame now there's still couple do not there to go on a lake and out awesome old gas is coming. yeah are we doing a bear claws again if they what is your idea about the. jerking their jerky Monday yeah where we had a fight badger I would just make sure that we call. no I'm saying it's beef jerky let's get some call quality beef jerky just called bear jerky I don't think I could eat. do not give good quality jerky out of a chevron station okay a lot of speed white where you can go find good jerky well there were more high school classmate of mine and why haven't talked in a couple years but if he ever Facebook reason we grew up together he owns a jerky company really he makes his own natural and it's supposed to be really good I can email them and see what he's got maybe get as bear jerky let's call it very victory jerky hello yeah white clause in victory Jr I'm good with the white cloud with that. hole sponsor who want to clock victory Monday. does anybody eat bear me I'm a maybe up in Canada I don't know I've got here how to make sure he would dare me how about that he adds here how to make. boy but that's kind of what should be eating bear. no no you could he bear they do that up and then Alaska shows survival saying should be other team you know what I'm saying I don't know what kind of package your keys a tear gas. and I'm not looking. reporter the jerk you know she's making some beef jerky. by eating doughnuts no the other it's like we beat the Packers the cheese hurried to yeah we get a bunch of season here we got some cheese charcuterie plate I'm done with that too..
