S. in two hundred songs to fun you know ten or fifteen the all those things kind of match up and it's you know you put that one aside and go look for another one you know and and then you end up with within a fifteen to go on the record but it's that's why it's a long process because they're hard to find you know songs that just have all those qualities you have to dig deep to find there's a lot of times keep listening to I heart radio for more Jason Aldean and all your favorite artists this is.

"So there was no surround sound and the whole thing that you know, that I really wanted to I was reading a lot about it. And I would go to a I would find a a really great Saudi theater that at that time THX was just starting to come around. Round. And so I was I was searching out like what what is what's the the reference? What is this? What can it sound? Like, what are these? What are these mixes actually doing? Right it for the movies for you know, and and then laser disc came along. And now we had a the ability to have digital soundtrack, even though was an analog based format a lot of people don't realize, and this is before DVD, of course. And with VHS pro, you know, we had prolific and then we had laser disc which eventually offered Dobie digital by the nineties. But in the middle of all that I wanted to really understand it. So I just started like almost like a mad scientist just put a like, a surround lab in my den, which was very small, but I knew what the room sounded like, and I had a surround system in it. And I just would replace components all the time, and I would do shoot outs with different amplifiers different. Decoders Denver converters, different sub woofers and cetera et cetera et cetera. And it ended up being an education that is irreplaceable. And I ended up being kind of at the forefront of surround because here I was, you know, really knowledgeable, and and educated, you know, listener in the home surround world, and then when DT S came along I was recommended to them today. It started with your own personal home studio project. That's right. It started with my own. It wasn't. I wasn't even in the studio yet this was and there was no theater. Yup. Yeah. And it was and and it was home theater by definition. But the screen was television. So it wasn't. I I didn't have enough space to do like real front projection. And for Rouge at the time all the hot technologies that looked really great. So the video part of it wasn't very good. But the audio was with my education. We're talking about how you were there at the beginning of DT S. Adobe will. Yeah. Because what ended up happening by the time D T S decided to go from the drastic park theatre only experienced to bringing the format to consumers they were seeking out. They had a game plan and that game plan was we're gonna mix we're gonna take the movies that we have control over which Spielberg was a part of it. So the Amblin network of casper, and and and Jurassic Park, of course, and a few other movies when take those we're going to encode them with D T S and launch that to consumers, and then we want something we gotta take a different angle. We don't just want to go head to head with Dolby on movies. We wanna we wanna do music in surround. Yeah. And they they called me. And they said, look, we, you know, we know your experience with all of these artists on the pro side, and we also understand through the grapevine that you have a very extensive background on the consumer side. And that's. What we need. And so they brought me out and we worked on the first surround mixes for DT s and kind of got the ball rolling on. How those mixes we're going to sound and and play back to the public and launch the format. So of course, they had to sound better than anything because this was what was going to prove to the press into the world that you know, we needed another format. It's Dolby and on top of that it led to a whole host of challenges of. Okay. Well, how is the studio gonna get set up to be able to mix for the soundtracks these music, surround mixes?.
