"Shoulders. Thanks for being with us. The comic strip Dilbert disappeared with lightning speed following racist remarks by creator Scott Adams. Some observers say it shouldn't come as a shock to you if you follow them both. Plus Elon Musk of Twitter now seems to be an atom's corner about all this. We talked about it earlier with will oremus technology news analysis writer for The Washington Post. Dober creator Scott Adams has built up a following on YouTube for his contrarian views on lots of social issues, including race. And some of those contrarian views went a little far in the past week, among other things he said. He thinks that white people should get the hell away from black people. He said this in response to a poll that apparently found narrow majority of black respondents said that they agreed with the phrase. It's okay to be white. Now, there's a lot of context around that phrase that I think Adams overlooked, but he took this as a sign, a lot of black people don't think it's okay to be white. He said that those people constitute a hate group and that he would want to have nothing to do with them, understandably, I think that costs a lot of consternation. A lot of people were outraged, but not Elon Musk. And essentially comes in and supports Adams. Is that fair to say? Yeah, you know, Elon does this interesting thing where instead of just tweeting about something as a sort of an original tweet from his own account to all his followers, he likes to weigh in on really controversial issues by replying to someone else's tweet. And he most often replies to people on the right where he'll pick up on something they said that controversial and he'll reply interesting or something to think about. Instead of putting himself in this role of just asking questions, right? He's not the one who's saying the things that Adams said. But he did respond to a couple of tweets about Adam's comment. And his response was that it's actually the media is racist. And he said, for a long time, the media was racist against black people, but these days, the media is racist against whites and Asians is what he said. So it certainly came across as a defensive atoms. He wasn't necessarily agreeing with every word Adam said. Unlike in the case of Adams we're a comic strip is suspended by many publications. "That fight for drew Dober. And I thought he was out. I thought he was dead meat. And then it was also, I mean, Terrence McKinney didn't argue the stoppage. But in my mind, I felt like they gave drew a lot more of a chance to recover than Terrence. But Terrence was kind of like kind of just covering up at that point. I had a turtle bob a little bit. Yeah. And I took the final one week notice. I think people don't realize how hard Terrence hits. Including drew Dober. You are not hitting the drew Dober, probably in practice, as hard as he is, and they're like, holy shit, this guy fucking hits hard. One strew kind of figured out what was going on. I think Terrence, you know, blue is wad and was kind of gassed and also he has to pace himself. I think drew just knew he was losing that fight and about to get knocked out and started swinging and connected. I mean, I think he just, you know, he kind of got lucky. I think he kind of got lucky to pull the comeback, you know? I mean, which is usually what happens when you have these, you know, from the jaws of defeat victories, you know, it's got a one just lucky, you know, one lucky shot and turns the whole thing around. And I'm kind of feel that's what happened here. You know, skill wise, now who took this on one week's notice. Drew or Terrence. Erin, 'cause tan is for one week notice, look like a much more skilled fighter than drew Dober did. Well, it's a hard look skill when you're fucking a rock and you're fucking seeing upside down. Well, I can say he had what we drew at old camp. He should have been ready. I mean, Terrence came out there. I think with more time, Terrence kills drew Dober. This is a different opponent. It was a different opponent. So that was true. That's true. He's prepping for a different guy. I get that. Yeah. So. But I think, I mean, listen, God bless him. I mean, I was shocked. I mean, you was losing that fight and that he managed to come back and he took advantage. That was the other thing though. You got to give him points for taking advantage of the opportunity. So many times these guys get one good comeback shot, slow the other guy down, and then they use it to recover instead of taking advantage of the opportunity to take the other guy out. Drew got right on him and just went to town. And that's what you got to do. So you got to give drew points for that. That's for sure. I think parents in the future when he has somebody rock like that will also be a little more careful. It's easy to just get excited. You know, Terrence has just been, I mean, he came from the LFA last year. And then he all of a sudden he knocked a guy in 17 seconds, 44 seconds. And 7 seconds. So to him, and then a minute and a half. What do you know? But not everyone's gonna go away as soon as you punch them and parents kind of took a lesson. I think I don't think Terrence stock goes down at all. I think drew's goes up a little bit, but I'm looking. I don't know that drew's goes up. If anything, even though he won, I think it goes down a little. I don't know. And people are really high on Terrence. So yeah, 'cause I think you just, I think, drew drew should have had a much better performance against a guy that just showed up in this league. You know, and ostensibly, he should have split it. It's like he's women that fight cyborg..

He had been priest and gun off the missions and while he was there he met a woman fell in love with her left the priesthood and married her and brought her self in their children. Home and i remember some of the neighbors used to shown him walk. You know and that was like that's not that's not too long ago in nineteen sixty three with illegal for a marriage between larry ann. And you're not a t to happen. Actually go you to be illegal firm other four more years credible you now so that was fascinating for me in itself because you fall fallen over here. You're fallen over. I guess an corner should never come into the equation. But yet did i feel like we've moved on still so much more for improvement on urine and education understand and i'm not still find still still still Delve into i don't know everything. Of course they don't you know and but i think it was very important for me to you know. Yeah yeah just even even for my career. I think it's important. I'm an actor. And i think it's important to know you know that that informs your work you know that may leads me create something and which i've done with the book for tv or film. Hopefully that's something happens. Also and then that comes into play with representation of people that look like me here in ireland like even going back to that growing up as a child. i didn't have that representation on our screens. Even if talk as far back as the dolls that i played with all had blond hair all the princesses all had blond hair. Tony in later years that we're seeing black dolls mixed race starts so we are. And then you know. There's this utes shift and i just feel really proud and i suppose honored to be a part of that shift if i have a voice youth that i guess that's really important like when you were growing nope in dublin. Did you experience of others. You experienced things in school. We all do but looking on your time in school. Did you experience direct racism in school. J. was an accident or on purpose. Me no you know i. I'll be so honest. I didn't have what my mom had in skill. I didn't imprimis guilty was another mixed race car. That was like me and that was this and then when we went to secondary it was a little bit more multicultural. I didn't but i had the questions. You know I did have the questions you know with all the time. I always say this. It's important to state that. It's not always always racism half the time with people. Just being intrigues contradictions. Yes the contradictions. That always kind of baffled me more than anything was. We live in a country of contradictions. You'll say your irish people go now. Well actually wear you really from well. I couldn't but this is what i laugh. Because i couldn't be anymore dober- dubliner and people genuinely fall over their own feet. Pj and that's no joke. When i opened my mouth like whoa wasn't expected wasn't expecting that you know and that was that was more. What i experienced was the were really from pure. You know somebody else's you where you're from. Pj you say our people will take that at face value. And we'll leave you with me. You know there'd be a poking and broaden and there's a way of asking these questions you know and do you get comfortable than from if people say yeah. Okay you're from your from dublin. Put your what do you. Dia does it when you tell me more. Tell me more like you know. I'll be so honest with you. It depends on your you. Know your human. It depends on your males. An average speed of story of right with actually so montgomery is irish migrant. Making that makes me quarter half to explain that. All the time can be a bit nine. You know late. My sister has a totally different complexion to me and she gets it as well. She's a lot lighter skinned than me and she gets is well. You know so like it is still a question. I think that misconception that you can't tell my color skin are black person's skin on be irish. That's a very very very unfortunate precision because my question is pj. What does an irish person look like. you know what i mean you right about that totally new alaska and you write about it. I found it very tough passage. You try to scrub the yourself. Wait yeah what. I know that. Actually i didn't realize as opposed you. Push things weighing you. Don't talk about things. As i said for years but actually a lot of people that have been speaking with and interviews in maintenance story actually is really grabs people's attention that is a common thing that is common thing you know when somebody referred to me as dirty. I was ten. I was a little girl that stay which is decree as kids. This loads of things stick with people's children and children. We remember everything i mean. We do a thank you for saying that and say it again if you want to. They do remember absolutely everything like they really do. You might think to not listening or watching. But they're taking it all in. I said to so many hours. I was on arlanda. Am this morning earned when children entered the world Lunch and that's what we are. The world is our oyster and we learn we learn from our parents we learn from from and we learn you know so i always come back to you. I strongly in it. This is my opinion. Pj dot you. It's a learned behavior. It's learnt on its learned from adults. Know anything when they enter this world having having had my own kids through school and little boy when he was six or seven body called muste and we thought we thought most staff was. It was nickname on. We went down and discovered that most have was a lead from nigeria. Okay who who had would. Actually he was he was from car. His parents were nigerian but he'd been born in cork and he hit flat cork accent. Only only soon saw was his pal in the yard. Never need this core of most 'skin didn't enter into middle. Kitty played with. And you're right. I think we don't children are never know racist was ever born. They were told you know. That's my opinion on.

I wanted to bring the bucks down to even or something so i could have done box combined with each team scoring at least one hundred points which they did the sun's disk they had brought at ninety nine with a minute left and they scored like with almost no talk and booker. They let booker go with easy layup. But anyway i stayed away from that and took this market chev- moneyline like you told me and now you're saying it's like the way i think he's gonna win easily market. Chevy's been well the problem. The reason i'm taking the distance house because market chef to win on points is minus one. Twenty the fight to go the distance as minus twenty four. So i just. I just figured actor pretty much the same number i just get the added benefit of i mean he's a minus seven. How knockout even also knock. I could not get plus three thirty by market chavez of submission by him Fifty which. I got to do the double chin. Yeah you can do the job. Knockout and submission. I mean it's very possible. What would you do you go by. Tko plus submission. That's plus one forty or would you go and points minus two wait suit. Was there a tko oser. Knockout or points option. Yeah that's mine that's mine is to nats. Yeah that's the highest. Yeah all right. Let's go the distance. I think he'll he'll i think he'll win almost every round but yeah i think it's this is another one all man i. I hope we don't have to leave this up all his main event. Now he's pretty dominant not to say it's good but yeah Dhammika parlay kid Let's get back to the nba where we know. The officiating is a screwy. what your best. Yes song gonna stick ya. "Team test stun-guns on pigs and found that the marks made on the pigs were identical to those found on. Jon benet dr michael dober- sohn chief medical examiner in el paso colorado examine the stun-gun in two thousand one. He concluded with confidence with my experience. And all the work that's been done. I feel i can testify to an unreasonable degree of medical certainty that these are stun gun injuries. This was amazing evidence to point towards an intruder. After all why would patsy. And john ever need to use a stun gun. On their own daughter. She would have followed her parents to the basement without a fight. Finally there was dna evidence. It was revealed that after jonbenet was killed a spot of blood was found on her underwear. It was determined that the blood came from an unknown male matching. Dna was found on her pants as well. The police had known this information within days of the murder but took seven months to inform the da instead they fabricated a theory of their own. The police believed and told the media. That jon benet had been killed from the bash tour head the garage adding sexual assault and ransom. No they theorized was all a clever cover up so that they could cry intruder. Boulder police investigator jeff. Shapiro said that there is an understanding in the department that this was an accidental that this was the result of child abuse that got out of control and that somehow jon benet was struck across the head or her head was smacked into something that cracked her skull and the sexual assault and has fixation was part of a cover up to make it look like an intruder had broken in and killed jon benet. They thought that may be patsy hitter daughter in the head because she had wet the bad. They told the press that the most likely scenario is that jon benet went to her parents. Bad wet and weeping her frazzled. Mom completely lost it ambassador Her that's where the attack began. When asked to explain the dna found on her underwear. The police agreed that it was probably left from the manufacturer but couldn't explain why it was on her pants and underwear which were not made by the same company. Smith could not disagree more. He responded to this claim. By stating that. There's very strong evidence. That jon benet was killed in this part of the man. He explained contradicting the theory that she was in our parents bedroom. He continues one of the reasons for that is that there was a paint. Trae right there and in this pain trae. There was a pain brush. That was used to make the garage. The bristle portion was still in the tray. Right next to the paint tray is a very small sliver of wood that came off that broken brush. The garage was made of the middle portion of that paintbrush. The handle her hair was actually entwined right and the wrappings of the garage as the killer made it on the back of her neck. He made a noose on the other end of the garage. Then this news was pulled. Very tightly against the neck of jon benet almost like a control device. Almost like you were controlling a pet or dog. The keller has fantasy in his mind with what he wants to do with this garage. This is not a simple little blow to the head followed by massive staging. This is brutal first degree murder. You can see the amount of force that was exerted on the garage to further. Prove smith's point there were little moon shaped markings found right above and below the cord on the front of jon benet snack. There were fingernail markings indicating that jon benet was alive and fighting for her life trying to pull the garage from her neck. While she was being strangled she could not have died from the head blow. I the boulder. Police were not thrilled with smith's findings. They made attempts to keep evidence from smit. The da's office who had hired smith and believed his findings to be true attempted to take over the investigation completely in response mayor. Roy romer accused the da's office of protecting the ramseys and asserted that their refusal to charge them with the murder of their daughter was bias. A new special prosecutor was appointed and all detectives and investigators were removed. It was decided that the police would find a way to charge. The ramseys smith himself was not removed by the new prosecutor but he resigned anyway lamenting that i could not in good conscious. Be a part of the prosecution of an innocent person. A grand jury was established and voted to invite the parents. The case appeared to be over. That is until da. Alex hunter shocked everyone in spite of the grand juries decision. Alex hunter did not go through with prosecuting them. Feeling there was not enough evidence to do so in good conscious in two thousand four years after john benitez murder. Mary lacy became the new district attorney. She rehired loose met but could only afford his services one day a week. Smith convinced mary lacy to test the dna found on jonbenet's underwear again using the latest technology. That was not around when she had been murdered. That testing led to patsy and john's official exoneration in two thousand and eight unfortunately patsy died of ovarian.

He's got a decent style in contrast to the edwards. The problem with with this fight is media has a lot of scar tissue Edwards one of the best sharpest elbows. That you've gotten the game. He's not afraid to use them he's put on clinics with that It's gonna be tough to avoid cuts in this fight. And i think to mark them up and i think he knows that i think he's going into that plenty of some german and elbow him To the point that the blood is going to be too much. The cuts are going to be too much. If he doesn't. I still think the advantages with. Leon i still think we on is the sharper crisper. More technical striker. He's going to be able to withstand the struck. The storm cardio is not the problem edwards. I think he will be fine. So yeah it's it's tough. Have darren stewart against eric anders. This is a really solid solid card. That you're getting this weekend now. A couple of other things. I do want to ask you about the clarisa shields fight. That's going on your thursday night. Pf against britney elkin shields as a long-awaited made debut case. You don't know Two time olympic gold medalist considered by many pundits as the pound for pound best female box from the planet. It's really down to people. It's her or katie taylor here. You have someone in her mid twenty's going from boxing mma. I feel like this is actually not being made into a big enough deal for the past ten years or so. All we've heard about his enemy fighters wanted to boxing to make more money here. You have arguably the best female boxer on the planet saying in order to make the kind of money that i want in order to get the love and attention i want. I need to go over to the sport. Like m may should be taking a bow. Mma should be taking a victory lap. I don't care if she's not fighting for bill towards this is a victory for anime and it's a really big deal and somewhat of an indictment on women's boxing as well. What is your level of interest. And what is your level of expectation when it comes to her debut tomorrow night supremely interested for all the reasons you mentioned how great she is as a boxer also because of the advanced time line when she was initially kind of teasing her compart transition to animate choose talking one year. Two years. she's talking about how long she was going to prepare She is it is doing it in advance. She's doing faster than that timeline. She originally laid out she. She has prepared for the spike quicker than she had disappointed when she was first talking about transitioning to emma. And what do i expect. That's that's hard. Because what. I imagine this like if you look at any enemy fighters first couple of wins a lot of times. They have an advantage in one area. They're able to get quick finishes. So i wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a situation where her opponent stands with her on the feet just a little bit too long. She's to skilled boxer and it ends there and it ends quickly because of how good she is. I also wouldn't be surprised if this gets dragged out because she's a little trepidation and she doesn't know what to expect an h. She's you still boxing ring And takes a little longer to find her bearings of. But i think it's one of either of those two outcomes where it's a little bit awkward but she ultimately wins or she comes out fully confident not concerned about what her opponent is doing and her skill shine through and she ends it rather quickly. It's not quite apples to apples. But this is more akin to say. Jake paul experience. Where she's not our own promoter but the promoter is obviously invested in trying to make her look as good as possible as opposed to the punk experience. Where for some bizarre reason like they were trying to like. They gave him a really tough young kid. In mickey gall and the thing never really got off the ground and maybe it was for the best because maybe they thought that there wasn't a great future there so they might as well get one potential star out of it and so britney elkin was the person that kayla harrison ford in her debut. Not china rag on her but like they're more invested the shields Elkin the opponent here. And i'm really interested. I'm really interested to see what she does. What she says. Afterwards the whole thing. I think it's a great get for pf l. and I think their their their latest.

"Remember despu that hot new photo social app that we were keeping our eye on as a potential next big thing despu basically made you wait until the morning before your photos developed in quotes was co founded by famous youtuber. David dark well. One of dispose. Major backers spark capital has suddenly announced. It is quote severing all ties with despu after claims of sexual assault against a member of dough bricks. Vlog squad arose last week. I suppose i need to back up and explain a bit david. Dobby has been called the jimmy fallon of gen z for his popular youtube videos which apparently focus on comedy and pranks and stunts and the like tens millions of subscribers. Nobody is one of those youtubers. That has one of those multimillion dollar mansions that is extensively the scene of a lot of his videos. He also has this sort of entourage of people known as the wlac squad who also star in his videos. It is a member of the long squad that is accused of the sexual assault though there have been some other questionable incidents lately that dober- himself has recently apologized for in video anyway without getting too in the weeds overall that last week mr dobric was losing sponsors left and right hellofresh dollar shave club. Ea sports seatgeek all severed ties. The very first link in the show notes can give you a rundown of all of that. Now normally i do tend to steer clear of these sorts of youtube star and influence or controversies but there is real sort of industry news here. Because i can't really recall seeing this happened before quoting techcrunch. In light of the recent news about the wlac squat and david dobric the co founder of despu. We have made the decision. To sever all ties with the company spark capital tweeted. We have stepped down from our position on the board and we are in the process of making arrangements to ensure we do not profit from our recent investment in despu and quote spark capital's decision to step back from the despu investment. Feels like a first of its kind. And if not rare it could trigger other investors with stakes in the company to do the same spark capital led a series a. in despu a twenty million dollar financing event that valued the company at two hundred million dollars less than a month ago. The current statement by spark does not indicate that the investment has been pulled from the company yet spark capital did not immediately respond to requests for comment in regards to what this process would look like and if the shares will be sold back to the company or to another buyer

After the brits tito was like famously the the most yugoslavian person the one person that could rive above all the little differences in this country of eight or ten ethnic regions together and He the communist ruler that brought yugoslavia. Together he has a former mansion on the lake so he must have enjoyed lake bled. He really enjoyed it because he was an avid hunter. So there's a lot of forest solo around and he always came just because he enjoyed also being in the company of many slovenians. He liked to brag a little bit. About how well he's doing with the beauty of leg. It was just a commonplace to bring his visitors over there and see they like slovenian. He really liked slovenians here because I would say of all the former republics that were belonging to yugoslavia. We were the ones who were very much in character. Like germanic very hard working very punctual and he liked that so that was set expecting obedient. Because you were more dramatic. Yeah we're really and we many people who come to slovenia say. Oh my god. This is like germany austria or switzerland. Austria bet speaking slavic language. ano- mozart. Yeah that's right. I think we're a bit more children. The austrians but how we talk about that. It's a little bit of rivalry over there. Okay well you know. Salzburg in louisiana are just like sister cities quite easy to visit from each other. This is travel with steve for talking about nature in slovenia and we're joined by tour guides. Tina hiti social groups our phone number eight seven seven three three three seven four to five and martinez calling in from atlanta martina. Thanks for the call high rak. And i loved it because it didn't feel as touristy as like black like blood was great. We did the boats. We hung out at a Dock and swam but it was really really crowded Like bohemian was not. It was felt unspoiled. We were on a beach Rocky beach and Maybe there were five or six groups picnicking but it was really felt like it ours to explore and we also stumbled upon cable car. I always liked getting high. This cable car vogel cable car was called took us way up to the top mountain and again just gorgeous views. We hung around up at the top and then just hiked down and i mean i was really unexpected and so beautiful you know martinez just so our listeners. Know for sure we're talking about lick bohemian. And that's b. o. h. i. n. j. Is that right. Tina boeing and there's two famous lakes lake bled be led The past tense of bleed and that would be world. Chris are and then like bowen. It feels to me like a national park where there's very little commerce. It's and people in enjoying the the natural setting. It sounds like martina you enjoyed just hanging out at the lake. I really really did. It was just pristine and as you say not as touristed as like blad. Although like blad marks. I mean you got gotta see that but i think you're right lick bohannon kind of caps it off. Thanks for your call. Martina sure we're looking at metro attractions of slovenia right now on travel with rick. Our guides are kina heat and sochaux ghulam. They're based in lake bled region of the country in the foothills of the. That's where there's a thousand year old kessel hanging off a cliff in a baroque church on a little island. That's a favorite for taking wedding photographs. Sasha when pena's website is p g dash slovenia dot com where. Pg stands for private guide to you know when we think about nature just always think of of people in slavic europe enjoying hiking picking wildflowers and harvesting mushrooms and You know mountain. Might you find in slovenia that way. Yeah if you're going to slovenia it depends a little bit on season. What month of the year. You're coming so early. Spring starts picking up the flowers. This is what locals do all the time and we drive them and we use them for teas and usually that procedure goes from about early april till the end of july. That's for the mountain flowers then usually all of september. It's the mushroom picking season and this is something that it's just insane if you don't know about it because there's family members that are actually competing. Among each other. How many pechiney mushrooms. They took from the forests. We don't have real limits yet but it's an incredible experience. You know when you and walk through the forest and then so this is the family excursions. Yeah we go with with we go all of us my mom my dad the boys us stew and we all just spread around the forest and then we kind of compete who picks up the most. And there's like we did blackberry picking my family but we never did much and there's no better thing than you see that head of porcinis stick out of the leafs. It's just such a nice feeling. When you hit you would just scream out your lungs and say i got it. I got it described. Are you in a forced. We're wearing the forest. So you know pechiney serb brownish. So they're like the leafs and is very hard to see them. they're very camouflage. Second game for a treasure hunt almost. Yeah and they grow the by the roots but still dolittle had is sticking out so if you have good is you see it. Usually you bring in a little stick because it's easier to kind of fun cover the leaves around and it's also very important to know what is good and what is a bad mushroom because if you don't know what you're picking you can literally kill somebody because you can poison them. You have to be careful with your children. Yeah absolutely they. They always ask. Is this the right one. They they went they got. They founded their kids and they always ask just in case. Just what are your memories of mushrooms and earn mountain flowers. I have very limited memory about finding mushrooms because they'd actually find any. My boys are way. More successful at With herbs has the expert. So i just pick whatever she tells me to pick because it's it's a science on its own as well you know. We have to know what to pick and went to pick it. It's being out being to the family is the famous. Yeah yeah and then you bring something home which was then a of a nice walk in the forest in the winter out and the poorest with you know if you're in the julian alps martinez who called earlier. Talking about the julian alps you can stumble on a lot of world war one history up there that is the so social front was in the julian. Explain what what was. The search francis is a conflict between italy and the author. Hungarian empire the goal of italy's to conquer sling conquer vienna but because of their way of command they got stuck high up in slovenian apps. Okay was wounded but the it is set in our area. The village in world war one. We're talking nineteen sixteen or something. People parked out on rocks on top of mountains in desperate call the highest the highest peak that they were fighting on his two thousand two hundred and forty four meters above sea level. That would be two thousand two hundred seven thousand over seven thousand feet and plenty high nine meters of snow in the winter. Nineteen sixteen is still considered as the worst winter regarding the amount of snow. We got in recorded history so it and finally when you're in slovenia there is a lot of mountains but there's also a lot of caves. What what might you see in caves. Tina when you're in slovenia we say that in our car. Strean cars k. a. r. s. k. a. r. s. t. Yes our car. Street is so rich with underground world that you see more under the ground up the ground. There's over ten thousand cave. you can see stalagmites. Delegates stalagmites are those that go from the ground than stalactites from the from the ceiling. Right when they joined together. It's a column and they are just wonderful. They are beautiful. These are massive caves caves in slovenia. That are like yeah. There's biggest stadium. He's got these rivers way down below little walkways way above the distance. You see a portal and the latest pouring in s. And you feel like you're you're a bit player in some sci-fi movie. I it almost feels like that. And then when you see some of the animals that live in those caves the human fish which is considered as the little dragon The human fish human fish here. I've never be a little bit. It's a human fish because of the color of the skin and it casts like legs and arms sticking out of the body. but it's like a gecko okay. And he's a creature creature that lives inside of the cave and above all of that Honeycombed subterranean you've got vineyard since very trendy wine. We do have some really good wine in our country. Explainer 159: Who is Slovakias new president?
"Unlike its neighbours in central Europe, Slovakia, risen, foamy socio political term, but it all changed in February loss yon Kuchiak leading Slovakian journalist found murdered on Sunday evening, please. In Slovakia investigating the murder of a journalist and his partner young was investigating government corruption. When and his fiancee were killed the first murder of a journalist is history. The killings triggered the biggest and to government protests in thirty years and fools the country's long seven prime minister will fit. So to resign. Antennas on chip I'm Susanna. I'm a lawyer is soda. Soft-spoken liberal in a single mother. She's ten Slovak politics completely on its head. And she's done that without any previous experience of governmental diplomacy. No mean feat in a country that's been dominated by conservative career politicians fits suit. And now she's president. How did this happen? In you opaque tissues. Not trust Augusta poem. They will be time for detailed analysis later. But I think that what resonated with voters was that throughout my campaign. I've always been truthful and candid and try to answer every question post to me, even when it was difficult, and this is something that Slovak's simply on use to Q V clam chuckled to the made maiden name as an environmental lawyer, but could death on the mass protests that followed prompted her to go into politics is Doug lost knit them. Get through some in little study, the tragic events of last year affected me very deeply. And now the time is ripe for Slovak's to demand and make change Slovak's beginning to cherish, the values of liberty and mutual respect. And they need political leaders who are all Fenwick in representing these values. Do not hold. Now, the Slovak presidency is largely ceremonial role. Of course, but you will still be able to veto bills to approve the formation of governments. But is that enough to tackle the problems facing stuck? Having Brzezinski problem? We'll see a calm city. Limit of honor up Oviously, we are a parliamentary democracy, but nonetheless, the presidential powers quite strong, particularly in the areas of Justice and the rule of law and as president hobby pushing systemic change in these areas. So some key offices like prosecutor's office or police can become more independent of political interference Sposa ball duck bullets bullets comfortably. What about your opponent motto smash smash chef chevik as vice president of the European Commission. He's obviously also strongly pro Europe. And yet his campaign has affectively failed. That we missed it. Another visa Willie hollow by Hove nem. Call dober- healthy Amata, I consider him to be very accomplished diplomat. And he obviously has much more experience in matters of foreign policy than me. But I'm better acquainted with the situation here at home as a lawyer, I've been helping ordinary people with their problems all my life. Also, I felt like he was reluctant to take a critical look at our current problems. And I think people needed him to acknowledge the reality of spoken on St. slim seizure, the procedural portrait. What lessons can the rest of Europe learn from this presidential campaign and from your success. Financially emotionally, I should share Velka Obeit now in this country and beyond a growing demand for honesty, and for lack of a better word normality in politics. There's a lot of emotions in politics these days, but the predominant ones are fear and hate them. I think we need to create more positive emotions in politics. More empathy. We need to restore people's trust in politicians. We need to show them that politicians are there to do good. This is the lesson that can be drawn from my success. Of the coastal now, but he's to acquire. Troppled Obas, liberal views and has supported gay rights will no doubt rankle with more conservative Slovak's. But her election is a sign of change this country and above all shows that a political outsider doesn't always have to be populist or an extremist for more and broader Slava. I'm lexie.

How To Make Them Beg For Your Product
"Here's something that kind of bugs me all the time. Lots of entrepreneurs thinks that the product or the service that they're about to offer that business is the end all when I want to say to everyone is you can have a good product. You can have a good service. But let me tell you. It's useless unless you can create a sense of demand, if you can create a sense of demand, even for new product, Hugh have a customer who comes through door and gives you the money to buy it. So here's my advice for all these people that think it's all about the product or the service that they're about to sell. I'm here to tell you. It's all about having that, but much more importantly, creating a sense of demand that your product is irresistible. Let me give you a few examples. I have a cousin who opened and ran for many years in my hometown of Edgewater rusty's far his business when he started out had good food beautiful space, you put his life savings into it. But no one was coming to his bar until Russi came up with the idea of calling all of his friends and simply saying park your cars outside my bar that made all the difference within weeks. Rusty's bar was hopping. What had rusty figured out? Of course, he had a formula of good bar. Good service. But he finally figured out. It was the sense that everybody wanted it that would bring people in. And that's how rusty built his very profitable business. When I started my business, I had one listing for my old boss that I used to answer phones for and I was thankful for the listing. It was a one bedroom that was priced at three hundred and forty dollars a month. Yeah. I know in New York in those days way way back you get a one bedroom for three hundred forty dollars a month today. I guess that would be maybe three thousand four hundred dollars a month. But there I have one listing. What was I going to do with the one listing hopefully rent it? But I could talk about that listening every day advertise it every day. It wasn't going to get it rented until I thought of a given. The gimmick. I thought of is to build a wall in the L part of that living room and call it not a one bedroom anymore, but a one bedroom and debt now, what would you call in on the New York Times ad which was the internet of its day. Would you? Call in on the one bedroom for three forty or the one bedroom in Denver three forty. It. Was that simple gimmick that got my phone ringing off the hook. Because I understood the importance of positioning. Positioning a product that everybody wants by thinking of a simple gimmick when I needed to get attention in a very bad real estate market. But was we had no one calling in for our property. I developed something called the Corcoran report. And all it was was an addition of eleven sales. I had for the year divided by eleven average sale price. So I published that average sales price and sent it to everyone when I say published it sounds fancy when I actually did is folded up mail it to anyone who wrote for the New York Times that day, and what happened boom, I got great, publicity, and I stole my competitors market share because I was quoted in every newspaper on my new statistical report, that's a gimmick. That's creating demand for people to come in and ask to see the listings because some in the news all the time. So they figure them someone important. Today's cork freeport is social media, and I can tell you in all the business I invested in shark tank. I never invest in an entrepreneur who's not good at social media because I understand the importance of that you have to get notice and today's platform forgetting notice is in social media. I have a business named the dough bar. It's a delicious dober- that everyone who works out really is into wants to order and keep ordering more. But why they doing more not because it's the only dough bar in the United States. But because my to entrepreneurs are remarkable at social media that makes everybody wanted another business. I have is Grayson lace. One of the principals, Melissa models are closed and looks like a million bucks. She makes videos for her Facebook group of the new lines as they coming in. And what do you think Melissa has because she makes her product look so desirable because of our marketing ability, she has forty million dollars in sales. Yeah. You heard that forty million dollars in sales. Another business. I've invested in his cousins, Maine, lobster was so successful. And so consistent in how they promote and social media. They create a page for every market they open in and they let their entrepreneurs promote like crazy in their local market, and they do so well because of it they sell themselves as well as they'll obser-, and then tons of people wanna come in. And also by a franchise what fabulous promoters do. They have the best lobster rolls of anyone. Of course, they do. But that's not what they're selling. They're selling their lore of making people won a lobster roll. So if you're going to use social media, you have to be authentically yourself. This is what I've discovered people out there following on social media. Don't follow you the minute. They sense anything. That's ingenuous. They drop out people are smarter than you think they know the difference. If you're yourself on social media, and the customer can sense that you're thin typically yourself, they will follow you. And it's an following you that you could promote like crazy your product and do better and better with what you do. And what you get when you make people want you. You get sells the lifeblood of all business sales the most essential thing. But you can't do it today without being good at social media.
