Loss to Ravens means Dallas Cowboys' season is over, even if four games remain

"While the cowboys are officially a last place team in one of the worst divisions in nfl history in their first season under mike mccarthy they officially have losing records for the first time since two thousand fifteen in the third time since twenty ten they have more losses by seventeen or more points four of those then they have total wins. Three of those and to the point. You were making mike mccarthy after the game described the performance as disappointing noting. They had a lot of extra time going into this game to prepare Felt that was a great opportunity. And they didn't take advantage of it and then he said of their defensive issues he said it's not because of scheme which was seem to validate defensive coordinator mike nolan. He said what he also seems to imply that he thinks the players are at fault. I just know this. The cowboys defensive coaching staff of the players had twelve days to prepare for the ravens in their one. Dimensional offense now. It is one of the elite unique runoff instance and yet lamar jackson in the ravens of masculine them emasculate them with the aforementioned season. I two hundred ninety four yards rushing only reason they did surpass three hundred like the browns is because our final scoring drive came near midfield following a failed onside kicks. They can only rack up. Half of the available yard orlando brown ravens offensive. Linemen heard shouting easy money. The Crown season 4

"I am now joined by. Amanda dobbins our resident expert. Amanda thanks for joining me again. My pleasure your pleasure to watch these middle. Three episodes of the crown season four absolutely crushing. It this stuff. Is this really good. We're talking today about favorites fagin and taryn knowle's ands basically. It's the episode with all the kids. The episode with the guy breaks into the palace and the episode. Where charles and diana go to australia. And i have to say that i think four. I've seen a few people dating for here and there for some reason. Maybe because it's too too well kind of put too much of a bow on it. I think it's fucking extraordinary. Like if i i thought that favorites was a really like startling achievement in dramatic writing and just in terms of the amount of stuff that they burn through in the way that they bring all these characters. What did you. What did you think of that episode. I agree with you. And i have not seen any criticisms because i don't really consume social media anymore but anyone who thinks it's too neat or they put a bow on it. I guess find another show This is peter. Marin is a playwright. There is a lot of construction and intentional cinematic and exposition all dialogue and set pieces built into this. It's not. it's not that it's obvious but all of it is very crafted. So i agree with you that i thought episode four was tremendous in terms of the amount of like and setup that they managed to convey to you in a very effective way. Because we don't really know anything about two of the four children barely met any of them and has been kind of a side character and so there are four children who get their own scenes and moments and so you have to develop those characters. You have to develop the queen's relationship to all of them. You also have the margaret thatcher thematic connection of the of the children. And you're drying out a little bit about margaret thatcher's relationship to women as well which is an important larger thematic episode. And also you've got the falklands war. I mean it's and they do it definitely and i thought about something you say a lot. Which is the crown doesn't like doesn't waste a moment. They just pick the scenes they pick the lines. And you know everything you need to know. That is so hard and they nail it. I mean they do a lot of stuff that i think other shows would probably shy away from because it would feel too like they were showing you too many of their cards so i kept thinking about the scene between elizabeth and an you know they go riding out. This is the thing that they sort of both share this love of horses even though and is obviously phillips favorite. And that's like in the way that that gets conveyed in the beginning and their conversations heartbreaking you know like their conversation is legitimately breaking and i think you could look at what an says. She's like. I used to enjoy being the difficult on and scaring people and now i don't feel like have any control over that anymore and you could be like well like you might go your entire life and never have that level of self awareness. You know you may have to go through thirty years of therapy to find that out about yourself and this young woman just like sort of pops out off when confronted by her mother on iran day. But it's beautiful writing. It's just it's just like amazing writing. And i thought the performances specifically in that scene mostly because the three sons come off as absolute troll lords in this episode mean. Yeah but the scene in particular was was quite lovely thought. Listen i think that there are levels of emotional breakthrough and clarity in this. Show that it's never happened in real life and certainly have never happened in the uk and to anyone who is absolutely senior no country just a lot of time talking about salads in england too early because they get a lot of salad industry and how to their salads or just blue cheese and bacon their emotional relationships are blue cheese and bacon. Do they are not. They're not doing the the smart greens. Now i mean it's it's a tv show and we are projecting emotions and trying to figure out how these people felt about the facts that we know are true. That's what we think is so interesting about episode for which made me reflect a little bit of on the queen character in this season and an interesting thing is happening. We talked a little bit about this on the last episode. Where libya coleman is kind of popping out a little bit and coleman is one of the great actresses of time and also i find her personally hilarious so i think that that's great but i see moments where it nothing is on the page and it's just olivia colman giving it that sense of humor giving it that timing Or maybe even the character is being a little bit written to her strengths and that is also a little bit because the queen is not. i mean. she's not a side character but the way they're telling the story is about all of the other people and events who are kind of crowding into that character's life and how she's bouncing all of it but episode four is just it's about the queen and all of their writing it's character development that is in line with the past three seasons that we've seen and it's pretty extraordinary and i think libya coleman also does like a great job with the actual written script and the character and the reacting to like the horror show of her children. I mean they all are. Do you have a favorite of the four. Who is your favorite on the shore in real life. No on the show. I don't really i. It's shifted i think blassie's and it would have been charles and yeah and this season it's probably end. Although let me get to the end of it. I mean it's obviously not editor andrew. So yeah. I wanted to just quickly before we get into edward andrew charles. A little bit ask you you start this episode up. Did you expect the wedding. No if only because number one. I read some spoilers about how they don't show the wedding but i do also think in their when charles and diana yes yes. The most watched royal wedding. I think of all time. I i don't. I should have gotten this statistics. It was close to a billion people. Watch it. I mean that was everywhere and people taped it and watched it over and over again rate including me who. Dvr it when bbc america riera it before the wedding harry and meghan and it was part of their like twelve hour block of programming. I watched all of it i. It's pretty boring. They didn't really have their production values in one thousand nine hundred one that we expect from royal wedding now anyway but no. There was sort of finality to episode three and there was something intentional about the way they showed their rehearsal and kind of the real behind the scenes emotions where i was like. Okay this is an interesting choice and like this is what we're going to get and also i've seen it before was do because like they wouldn't be a lot of opportunity for people to be talking during that so unless there would be some fagin like wrinkle history that they wanted to explore not really sure what they would do their right. I mean it happened at such a scale that even it would defy the crown's siegi budget. I will say. I was surprised that diana disappeared for new episodes. We'll get episode five. But she is very briefly shown and she is heavily pregnant when she shown episode four. And she just won't come out of the room and in one way. That's really all you need to know. About how their marriage is going and how everything is you know how everything is is shaken out but on the other hand i was like uh this is a choice. Diana pretty popular. Yeah yeah no. I thought that the dow is interesting. Also the suggestion. That charles is starting to become under the influence of these gurus and like self help nutritionist. Which i didn't. I didn't know that about him. Oh yeah the the lawrence vander past reference. I only know about this from the tina brown book. But apparently he brought those books on their honeymoon and then tried to get diana who was twenty at the time of their wedding to read the books and discuss them over for dinner on their honeymoon. So that's how that went

Ravens extend regular-season run, dominate Texans 33-16

"Texans offense is trying to figure out itself average three yards, a carry, and the Ravens they've just picked up where they left off I mean the January playoff exit was ugly but through two regular season games we are now coming on. If, you combine these two regular season games with how they finished and really perform the entire regular season. Last year. This is one of the great dominant runs September through December that I can remember any team having. No argument there I saw some something today that. It's like, wow, the ravens have gone taken what they did last year and they've gone another three steps. Let's slow down. That's one of the greatest regular teams I've ever seen like you're not going three steps further but continuing it and adding new elements to it and playing a little more consistent defense from week one on which they were not last year. Is GonNa, make them so hard to be, and they play the chiefs next week a little too early in the season for my taste, but it should be fun. I mean I. Think one issue is Lamar Jackson, like if were if you wanted to point to little elements of his game, the needed help them up I mean he's gotten distinctively better over two off seasons and. Around half time and I was kind of tracking this off on the side, I was thinking looking at their boxcar thinking they're not really running like it doesn't seem like they're dominating. They didn't have one hundred yards hundred and fifty yards rushing in the first half. It was like a little bit off and then at the end of the game. They have two, hundred, thirty plus yards on the ground I mean they they really come. So easily they can do everything they did a year ago they just throw in JK Dobbins you throw in a couple of other guys. They simply have more weapons so I think last year is last week's game against Cleveland was absolutely authentic. Today's game is absolutely authentic. This is who they are. There's probably one or two teams in the League that could touch him right now.

Fantasy Football Forecast: One BIG THING you should know for every Week 2 matchup

"I sit out the way New Orleans versus Las Vegas raters. We saw New Orleans showcase really really solid, really great defensive performance against Tom. Brady and the buccaneers They were pretty on disappointed as a team, lot of penalties on their defensive side of the front. The saints rebel to take advantage of that. La Raiders played against the Carolina Panthers last week and gave up thirty points. It's very possible that New Orleans doesn't look as Resi as they did against a really solid defensive front in Tampa. Bay and they might have their way with a raiders team that is still kind of pretty young and trying to get their footing and all this stuff. They don't they had an injury to majority of their wide receivers in the last game. So Dan, Waller seems to be their only solid option. At the receiving side of things that might mean there in Waller's uptick in target's share and my means, he gets an ends on this year or this week maybe something good happens for him I'm buying all the stock now I'm Kamara right now for this game, this should be Alvin Kamara. KAMERA's two touchdown, a hundred yards from scrimmage plus game. This is this is the one I wouldn't see why would be any otherwise and to be quite frank. I think that a lot of players on seem to have a really big game and this would be a really fun game to see trae Kwan Smith. I'm going to bring them up again. This'll be a fun game Trey Smith. Look to be a solid. Relieving game just for brevity and sake of saving saints, fans of fantasy fans alike, some worry as to what the saints offense can look like without Michael Thomas Soaking up a lot of the defensive pressure. All right. So Fancy implications all over the place you know Josh Jacobs. This could be a really good test to see just how much they believe in Josh Jacobs as a pass catcher because I don't know how much he's going to be able to do in the run game considering New Orleans is when had and still does on one of the better run defenses in all the football. I think the best game. Pound for pound this week has to be the night game on NBC, where New England is playing against Seattle that they're going to be playing in Seattle New England the we have a kind of banged up cam and she says it's the there's no hamstring issue but. Of Most people are saying that he does, Kinda. Have a little bit of a hamstring thing going on and we'll see how that affects him with all read option stuff and what we saw from last Sunday's performance maybe we started to see cam throw a little bit more, and then we can really see just what this doing his offense really has to offer for them sure that bill will have them ready for whatever and we saw sea hawks offense that basically let Russell Wilson do what people have been asking. Them to let Russell. Wilson do for basically the majority of the back half of the dense. You know twenty seventeen was to let Russ Cook and Cook did Russell Wilson? Do He only missed four passes? He had A. Great amount of yardage great touchdown passes de que look. Nice at times he did have some drops of course, Tyler Lockett looked really good. Chris Carson looked amazing. In the past game. We had some really good screens run in for touchdowns. They got tight ends involved the plethora tight ends at the seahawks own and their defense was literally flying around all over the place. Now, there are a lot of garbage time touchdown stuff in that Falcons game that I'm not GonNa hold against the defense when it mattered. Jamal Adams and of course. Everybody else in that defense just looked phenomenal. They just looked physical. They looked like they were flying around and making plays they look very formidable as team very formidable. So. That is a game as the May have a lot of implemented implications on things so KEEP IN MIND I think one of the better secondaries in the League is New England's granted they played against. The, dolphins but they did not allow that many receptions or receiving yards at all for either receiver on the dolphins and Tyler Lockett, and care very athletic fast guys but. It's going to be tough. Is GonNa be a tough about we'll see what happens. They may have to change up the strategy of leading Russ Cook for this game in particular and work through the old tried and true run the ball and try to make something happen later on in the game. But for US Russell Wilson owners like myself I hope they just let him throw the ball a little bit more that'd be nice. That would be fun I think we'd all like to enjoy that. So moving on towards another game I think the Baltimore Game at four, twenty, five eastern standard time on CBS is going to be a good one, Baltimore versus Houston. This game can go I think Houston is a team that kid look Jacqueline Hyde and they've been jekyll and Hyde ever since the Shawn Watson is come on that team and. Not Sage. It's the Sean played bad last Thursday. But he definitely did not look comfortable one hundred percent of the time and you just was trying to make plays. His offensive line wasn't there fully stout at all and when it was time to just throw throw throw things Kinda got out of hand for Houston Houston can't be a team that gets to behind too quickly or else it is going to be nightmarish for the offensive line. And it's going to be a bad day for Shawn Watson even though he can make miracles happen at will while Samour's in perfect position to take on a team that showcase bad tackling display. So this is a team. So if this is the time where you want to be like, okay JK Dobbins, he didn't have that many targets but hey, he got two touchdowns in is the time to test out the JK Dobbins is going to be. The album? Kamara. To Marketing Rooms Mark Ingram. So we'll see what happens here Lamar he this seem doesn't tackle well, Lamar could have himself a anywhere closer to forty to fifty yards rushing easily against this team if he wants it, and of course, Mark Andrews is a guy who I would think would eat very well against the Houston team that allowed drivers Kelsey to get like five catches in the first half with ease marched up and down the field with ease Look to see how David Johnson looks in his second bout. David Johnson had a nice surprise of a Comeback Week one performance that a lot of people were speculating was possible and he delivered for the most part. So that was encouraging for many people to go ahead and see so I wouldn't. Put it past him to do it once again. That's really really against the I think that Brandin cooks is still a bit. So that would not be. Great for folks owners. And I would be looking at anybody who has. Willie snead Willie snead was all over the place last week and it was almost to a shocking amount of how much willie snead was dependent on and I said Willie snead. That was not who I meant to say I meant to say will fuller will fuller will around the field for the Texans last week and I would like to see him continue that stretch because that would be. Pretty awesome to be completely honest. I. Would like to see a will fuller healthy and showcasing that he is here to stay in this league and thus it would not make me feel nearly as bad for short.

"Lorraine BRACCO Goodfellas Mary McDonnell would dances with wolves which I think. Everybody thought she was GonNa win and then Diane Ladd and wild at heart was our token old person. You need ended career one, but that's about as good as we're GONNA. Get with best supporting actress, right? It is, and I also think it's a best case. Result because you know, we talk a lot about how the Oscar is. Don't acknowledge comedy or comedic performances, and if someone does get nominated for a community performance, which I think you have to argue at that Whoopi Goldberg is is the comedy part of this movie as well as being as. Chris said like the emotional connector and having a nice moment with Sam at the end, but normally if it's. Nice to be nominated and the Oscars for that for the comedic actor or actress, and in this case she actually wins which is Great I. Wish Askar's would do that more often agree. Chris made the key point to. She's not doing a bit. It's not an SNL sketch. Which I think is what eventually happened to her as a movie actress, she's doing. will be as the SNL. Sketch would be as the over the top. Whatever this is a real character I, really like automate Brown and you know it's a good character because they easily could have spun off. no different than like Tommy. Lee Jones in the fugitive when they bill US marshals around him. They could have made the Omay Brown us. Yeah Chris. How did that not happen? They miss that I know there's one thing I. Think the thing that this movie has going for more than almost anything and is the reason why it's a remarkable is. It's no more no less movie. It is just in a perfect little container. If it had gone on for fifteen more minutes if there had been fifteen more minutes of Willie and Carl if there had been fifteen more. More twenty more minutes of bay, or if there had been a sequel, or if had been the further adventures of Oda Mae, and like Sam joins her at some point and they'd venture. This movie is so perfect because it's so perfect, because it just fits right into its lane, so I I think that's why, even though you might be like man. She could have carried her own movie. They. They just had the good sense not to do that. Oscar movie Zaire dances with wolves. "Yeah at just a real physicality and come on bill of you seem dirty dancing. Recently I watch I'm a grown woman, and was just blushing I hope. My husband does not come in this room because I'm having some time with myself and watching Patrick, swayze move and you know that physicality does lend him to like being action star, but think dirty dancing is an anomaly, and that it's just like a great dance movie that somehow we all saw. It was not supposed. Supposed to be the hit and the classic that it was, and then ghost is a great example of using his physicality and his action star in service of ultimately love story, but they just don't make as many of those genre blend movies anymore, and so he kind of gets lost. If you're just making him in action star, then you're not really playing to the type of physicality that is speaking me Amanda Dobbins if you catch my drift, who has Patrick swayze now? I would say closest as channing tatum. Who is also a dancer and has a real physicality and kind of like the tough guy not. Not the most voluble of individuals better real charm, and you want to spend time with him and has done dance movies, and Romance and also drama producer. Craig Things Gosling I. think that's a good one to you not to spoil future categories, but I had gossiping has the same appeal when he's on screen I, just kind of uncomfortable and don't really WanNa talk, and just kind of want to sit and watch it happen, and he doesn't really have to talk either. He can be there and it's great I was GONNA say Jason Statham What? Referred Second So nineteen ninety was the secretly really. Fun Popcorn movie here. And there's a lot going on, too. Because just in general being a movie, Fan was really fun that you're. We've talked about a little on this podcast before, but that's one premier magazine is really taken off. That's when Goldman's reading. His New York magazine columns. That's when is entertainment weekly is at going yet. It is right. Yeah, so. And there's a whole it. We're not in that sequel. "Parents House. and. You know it's like a chance to just get away for a few hours. Maybe have little dinner after and Kinda. Just what you did in nineteen ninety so I I was looking at all the movies that came out this year. Pretty woman was another one. I remember going to both of those on dates, but you talked about how this movie just stayed out. So, it comes out the weekend of July thirteen to fifteen th, which so it's a thirtieth anniversary this? It is still in the box office. Bake make another five million on Columbus Day, and if you look at the arc of it, it's basically twelve million twelve million eleven million, ten million by the week all the way through the summer. It's in the feeders for four months Chris, Wendy, the stop happening were movies were just in the theater for four months. This was like last fifteen years. Maybe I think whenever it was I mean when when the emphasis became on opening weekend box office which I don't really know when that was. But there used to be a time where it was like something we talked about this back to the future, whereas like back to the future was just in movie theaters for like a year, and that was one of six things. You could watch back to the future the news. Affiliates game or back to the future that was like all we had, so. We go to these same things over and over again. I, think you know a titanic must have had a huge opening weekend, but titanic was the last movie. I remember being in theaters for that long. Di Grew that you grew that. Amanda, I, do you anti-tank had the same? You gotta go back and see it again because you're invested. In the Love Triangle, aspect titanic movie I saw in Theaters Ghost. I, I was not old enough to see it in theaters or to go on a date. Sadly, so ghost instead lived on for me I really feel like I was giving ghost. Ghost and dirty dancing on VHS simultaneously, and it was just like here..

"It but they're essentially a bumper cars but tables have you seen this inner tubes. Yes it seems like people are going to have a bumper car interacting experience but they are inner tubes correct and they're not small inner tubes. No they're not. This is not going to the beach and putting on a blow up. You know ring. I think they're probably six feet. One thing that I've learned is that I am. Six feet is a different length to everyone. It's a hard thing to measure and and I have never been won with a great depth perception. So it's particularly hard for me. So in that sense I liked that there is like a literal measurement. It is pretty clever. I do you want to know that this is being in Iraq enacted at a bar so you are putting people in giant inner tubes and then giving them alcohol and then telling them to interact so I do hope that everyone at this Maryland bar is safe in the in the log term. I mean it is kind of achievable right. It only needs to be thirty six inches. Because if if you have three feet and the other person has three feet. Then there's you're six feet right. You're not and that is true from what I saw. It look like I don't know if it was the purveyor themselves. The restaurant bar who is responsible for this or if the individuals it looked like there was some decorating going on like the portion of it. Where you you're you're cited inside of it but the ring is too big so because you you you're your own person isn't isn't thick enough to sit inside of a an of that size so there has to be some kind of like a mechanism to to have it. You know connect to your body and it looks like people were entering aspect of it. We'll so I thought that was the table itself. Because they're their billing says innertube tables right if you think about it if you have an inner tube around you can't. I don't know how long people's arms are again not great with the with measuring amended. But it's it's GonNa be hard to reach a table. So you gotTa have a portable table and also then the table is self contained. And so you don't have to be exchanging with other people. It's very clever. I do wonder whether it's scalable. I don't think it is but you know particular restaurants. Ice Bar also had the benefit of being near the water right Yes yes. And so the the nautical theme now the thing that you touched on a bit ago. We don't want anybody to get So inspired by the alcohol component to think that it'd be fun to just go jump in the water with their inner tube table. I mean it wouldn't surprise me if if it happened. I'm giving points for engine. Nudie here right. That's the seem of this podcast and it's a very clever idea. I do hope that everyone is safe and responsible when using it does. I will say you know speaking of that. Ingenuity. I've heard a story where restaurant here locally that has its own. Parking lot is is setting up tables. You can reserve a parking space and they will come out with a table dinner ware and set it up in that in that space and then they don't put somebody in space next to you there. They won over. They skip the face. Yes so you can do some some lovely outdoor dining. The weather on the East Coast is beautiful right now. Some Nice alfresco dining this kind of ingenuity. It's it's inspiring a man. I am going to let you go but I have been over the several of these shows and other shows talking about my new found admiration for one. Guy Fieri. I've confessed. I am now a staunch And I've greatly admired. I've seen on the food network over the last handful of week. Several weeks of the shows that he's doing he's repurposing some of the Triple D. shows some of those personalities. They're sending him food. He's making it at home and it's been inspirational in. Its own way. I just want to touch base on the fact that one of the stories on our list was him and Rachel Ray doing Giant donations to to food charities and restaurants and sewer service worker funds. Just you know I I now might have to just have the Guy Fatty moment on house of cards. It's just going to be the fee each corner. I don't have to come up with a name but Shot shouts to guy. Keep doing it. My Guy Keep doing your thing. Rachel Ray guy fee eighty give big to food charities restaurant service funds. That's one of the things that the hungry home he's out there can can check out and props to my man absolutely everyone using their platform to do what they can. Which is a theme of all of these events? All of these new stories that we've covered. It's it's really inspiring. It's a theme for us to. We're doing our best. Amanda Dobbins an Awesome Food News. Thank you so much for coming on. And Best of luck with the head noodles. I want you to do them. I really dying for you to do the head noodles. "The opportunity to talk has been championing. The interests of independent restaurant oppor operators but one of the sort of kind of a messages is the thing about restaurants is their capacity to figure stuff out and that really to me is what you're talking about here and it does to me seem like you know we're there isn't going to be a return to the way things were. I don't think that's really possible For a whole sort of variety of reasons We don't have a way out yet. In terms of you know everybody feeling safe and secure and able to sort of get back into places where we can all be near each other. I mean there's a whole myriad of challenges in front of us but this kind of innovation to me does feel like there could be a kind of permanence now again. It would be great to not have to need food banks. It would be better if people were had stable employment and we're able to earn money and then take that money and go buy the groceries that they want for themselves and and care for their families and friends but as long as food banks are out there this kind of innovation. This kind of figure it out. I stuff mean this is what what what were. Where do this is what we're all about? I'm not going to stand up and sing the Star spangled banner. Banner Right now but you know I grew with you. It really is inspiring and you everyone I do. Think looks for these these moments of hope and also just as a model of what can you do kind of like? Here's a model of of of what you can do. I wanted to share with you one more detail from it that I just I thought was so lovely so another of the of the food. Kitchens is in is in south Florida where they obviously have a lot of citrus. And so here is Chrissy Benoy. Who is the general manager of a Food Bank Florida? Who's going to plan to do with that? She's like we want to do. A lot of citrus marinades. You got a ton of flavor and it adds to the meets. We see a lot of oranges lemons and lives around here. And I like I just loved the specificity of that and making do not just making do but turning quite literally lemons in this case in two. Maybe not lemonade. But like a lovely marinade and making the best of it and Or or making it slightly better at least if not the best of it and I. I thought it was great. I'm here for it all right. Well that's a great story to kick this off. Let let's hit a couple other high notes so we mentioned Jose Andreessen. I you and Jason. Gay spoke about him and all the incredible work that he is doing last week. And I think we're just going to do that again. This is really a a profile of of hose. Andrey's on CNN business. And the headline is why this chef keeps showing up disaster zones and it's a great overview of the work that he has been doing for a decade now with though. World Central Kitchen. And why he's doing it and again some of that infrastructure of like how it works and what we were just talking about Was a little bit of an example of things breaking and people not having that infrastructure and very quickly putting into place. But I think what's been so amazing about hose and races that he has already been working on this infrastructure. He identified that getting people food after a disaster is a real problem and here are some ways to do it. Not just the humanity but although the humidity is like extraordinary and what he's doing but also just the the effectiveness and the logistics. It's very hard to do what he does at the scale that he does. That's the whole point. I mean that's not the whole point but that is a a one of the points that's most fascinating to me. Which is you know. You basically had a chef a successful chef who knew how to do food across a number of restaurants in a number of places and relatively upscale all of his restaurants in Washington. They're very accessible but they're they're nice. It's not like white tablecloth. Necessarily they're open in welcome opening and there's a welcome kind of experience. But how does a guy like that? Think about his own sort of station in life and recognize. Okay I I can do something meaningful when folks run into something real and I want to jump in and do it so he he did it right. I think Haiti was one of the first the earth there was you know the massive earthquake in. Haiti was one of the first things and it was like. I'm going to call up this person that I know that can provide air transport and so we sort of get the getting their part get solved and then you know the actual physical cooking aspect of it and that's the part of it to me. That is so fascinating like the scale. How can you turn out ten thousand meals in a day in a place that's been laid laid the way spot by an earthquake and I honestly feel like you know Jason Made the semi serious observation that this guy should be running for a Nobel prize at some point But he could also. I think go to Harvard Business School and do logistics. You know do a course on on logistics or any business. It doesn't have to be harbored. Any business school in the country right and do like let me talk to you about the challenges and this is how we thought about it and this is how he conquered it right. Yes absolutely there is both. He is a really inspiring spokesperson as well. And I think you know this piece and all the work that he does he can about. Why the work? That he does is is so important. And what food means to people which you know is important connecting to people but then just backs it up with just like a massively sophisticated organization that already exists. And that's kind of what I keep thinking about it. I felt a lot that in recent weeks and we don't have to go down and policy things but a lack of preparation and a lack of foresight and this is a person who saw a problem and understood what food means to people. Not You know both in an emotional way literal way and figured out all of the issues and it just kind of like okay. Where do you need me next? And it's it's his innovation on this. It's a nonprofit and non governmental nonprofit. Now he does have to collaborate with the local governments to make sure that he's meeting the standards but also the best effective way for him to get you know the most food to the most people is to be in in concert with in partnership with local officials. And and you know like the police the fire. Those are the people that that that need to do. The eating right there public employees. That are in the first sort of you know in harm's way in the first place so it is a public private partnership it. Does you know where you again. We won't go down this policy thing but like you know. Local governments could could take a lesson in terms of the resourcefulness and thinking about for their own selves. How can you you know what are lessons to be learned from from this guy and his outfit? Yes absolutely I mean get everybody. Who's making decisions? A copy of his powerpoint is is what I have to say. That's the point life. You could go on zooming. Yeah it's really inspiring. I wanted to share one more hoes. Andreas related thing with you. So all of the work that he's doing incredibly important in and a you have been focusing on it so much and you know. The ringer obviously is raising money for the the world central kitchen. So we'll continue to talk about that but I just great instagram presence. From him as well. He posted a ten minute instagram video last week from his home with his daughter. Carlotta and they gave you. They said it was ten kitchen tips for quarantine nine because they only got two nine and she has there in the home and he has his stations laid out and he's going wants to the other giving you quick tips. I'll give you a couple. I don't want to spoil all of them. Number one is how to make a beautiful creamy dressing for an avocado with like the last bit of Mayo. That's in the jar that you never really know what to us. I had this last night and I like unfortunately I did the squeeze bottle instead of the jars so I couldn't do it. Jose Andrews taught me which I felt really bad but I had watched it and I was like. Oh that's great. The second tip is what to do. If you have an annoying party guests who keeps coming into the party being like what can I do? What can I do? Give me a task? And he suggests asking them to peel blueberries cousins rude. That's the point and what I liked like. They'll never come back in. You'll be very happy. He's he's prepared for all situations. Okay cocktail there's had appeal a tomato. There's what should you if you don't have milk but you do have unconvinced valk. Oh okay which. I have had condensed milk in my home for a long time. It's one of the key ingredients in key lime pie. I had never thought about the fact that you could condense it. Even though it's there in the title it does. It does seem like it. I have led a nearly milk. Free Life since my son was born because we found out early on that he has a milk allergy. And we've been plant based milk like drinks and you know all may the milk industry doesn't like it if you call all those drinks milk but almond milk nope milk and plant based milk and all that soy milk. That's been my life for about eight or eight or nine years but I mean let me hear it. How do you condensed the condensed you put water in it and stir okay? That's what I would have guessed. I understand that it's unbelievably obvious. And I understand like I I get it trust me and also that it literally says condensed milk on the can't like I do you understand individually what those words mean and also I have a knowledge of how to uncondemned something but in a million years. It never would've occurred to me. I think it's something because the consistency of condensed milk you know off and also I have sweetened condensed milk. That's right of course that's it. That's right so he wants to Sweden's in there. It's like it's taking me farther away from the original product but the consistency is very syrupy in a way that I just kind of and sticky. So you don't think that it's going to make its way back to milk. So there's just something about like the distance between the product itself and the origin that I just I don't know I I just wasn't thinking about it. There are other things to be thinking about. I agree with you. The degree of difficulty seems very high to get it restored to what we would traditionally think of milk. And if you're in that moment semi-panic moment like I have this recipe that calls for milk and I can't go get milk right now. It'll ruin my flow trying this technique. It could feel daunting Because you WANNA get it right. You don't WanNa blow the recipe with with them unconvinced. Condensed milk he really did. Just want to tell you on the video. He poured water in it and stirred. And that is just like it's like I'm a four year old watching science I was like. Oh my God. It's so good I love it. So those are the type of tips you know given with real flair and also there is a time to element for it even though there is no reason to because they're just in their kitchen and it's very charming. He's with his daughter. He's making fun of his daughter. But in a loving way it's great stuff. I recommend the content and useful tips on you if you don't have milk. Amanda this is Great. I am going to at the end of this. I'm going to go And I won't make you sit through it and I'm going to remind everybody all these these things that we're pointing them towards we have Michael. Twitty's book we have this great story in eater dot Com.

"Of cards. Let's get in that belly with OUR POWER AMANA DOMINATES TASTEBUDS. As you know we have been doing some shows here lately where we've been exploring the ways that all of us have been dealing with the effects of of saying at home and cooking at home and what it's meant in a lot of different kind of walks of of food life. Of course that means there is lots of food knows out there and today we thought it made sense to look at some of the Food Hero. Some uplifting stories in the world of food and restaurants and give some shine gives him attention to those folks our beloved pal. Amanda Dobbins is on the line with us. What'S UP AMANDA? Hello House. I'm honored to be here for the return of food is so you were all one of our first guest on the Ringer Pantry. Party where Lots of folks like you. Graciously invited us into their kitchens to walk me and our beloved house of carbs audience through what was going on in your own kitchen and how the fridge was populated and I have a question for you from from from that experience we left as an open question you as you said. You had some ambition for a particular dish that dish was. You're craving Szechuan food. And you said you were thinking about some hand pulled doodles some see Schwann pepper corns by question to you. Amanda is digit do it? I'm really sorry to disappoint you and I haven't done it yet. I have the we had the pepper corns and I still have them in the fridge and I have been cooking with them a bit to. Kinda scratch that issue but the hand pulled noodles are a quite an undertaking they. Are you know a tradition over hundreds of years? I believe from northern China. And it's really difficult there are. There are a lot of steps and I haven't been brave enough. I'll be honest. I have watched the videos. I've thought about it and then I've said you know today instead. What I'm GonNa do is we have ordered takeout from several restaurants in the S G. I have I finally did the. We've got the freezer full of frozen dumplings. From Mama lose dumpling house which is very exciting to me so but I did instead of the noodles. I didn't do the noodles and I'm GonNa try to spend a negative into a positive for you. I have one thing that I did do which is despite growing up in Atlanta Georgia and being a huge enthusiast of fried chicken. I had never actually fried chicken at home. I was too scared. Is You know we talked about this on the show because you mentioned chicken salad and for a half a second there? I was confused by which kind of chicken salad like salad. Greens or you know the traditional man as base chicken salad and You confessed in that moment that you hadn't really tackled fried chicken in earnest please. Let's hear about this. I think it's because there are many places who know how to fry chicken like beautifully certainly in Atlanta where I grew up. And and all of my you know grandmothers and aunts and uncle. It's just like I didn't need to be doing it but in this particular case I did need to be doing it and I think it's another one where there was like the reality of like the actual frying. I don't do that every day at home. And so it seemed a little intense and so I used a recipe by Julia. Tertia do you do you? Are you familiar with joy attrition? Not Not really. She's a wonderful cookbook author. I'm using her cookbooks. Small victories as part of my mic. Stand here at home. Yeah you have a whole bunch of cookbooks as your beautiful array and that's not just special for House of cards. That's what I use for. Every podcast but at the top here is the well used. Small Victories by Julia Attrition. And there is a buttermilk fried chicken recipe in this that we've been using and that is fantastic primarily because she's really good at explaining how to do stuff in a way that doesn't that makes it not scary and the thing that she suggests for. This fried chicken is to do it in a Dutch oven or in a like an a`deep pants so that you don't have to be as scared about the splatter or just the mess somehow it made. It seem like a lot more accessible. And so you marinate the chicken for twenty four hours and buttermilk and some spices and then you just fry it and she liked calmly explains how to fry it and I did it. And it's amazing. Oh what a what a victory a rare Q. Life success.

"With traffic cameras. Plans out memorable bucket carry on best quotes you mentioned earlier. Men are coming to kill us. We're going to kill them first rate one. Yeah I mean mommy was very bad. Mommy was very very every bet. So good really good. Let's go with that for best quote than could this be remade as a ten episode Netflix show. I will say I would watch a Bond Netflix show. I would if this was just like Peter. Morgan make the on Netflix show. Yeah but here's what we're GONNA do everything has to be filmed on on-location. Yes it has to be this production level. Okay and I have not seen a Netflix show including the crown which I love also written by Peter. Morgan is not at at this level of an eye as a spy head spy guy would love mix show where there was just this reckless alcohol gasol who is the centerpiece of but it's not like I don't have enough of that in my life. If and when that happens what you're describing I tell you know. Movies are dead if bongos to Netflix. Would you watch a bond spinoff in offshore some point of some some kind when you said am I six show I would watch Judi. DENCH's M and kind of all the internal politics you know every other there's some like extended set-piece refunds playing like going to Whitehall and having to go to hearings and like doing backroom deals yes. I mean just great house by Judy. Dench in this movie. They ran a drink where you weren't did they. I would spend more time there. I just don't care that's fine I just I I I see I care. I don't care the the grand jurors was part of. That's what this series is right. A Barker outside of a marquee come on in in and see the greatest show in entertainment movies. That's how I get people listening. The movie starring Thanos probably unanswerable questions. I only had one which was really was was silva like what was Silva's relationship to 'em beyond if anything he was just an agent that she screwed over like what causes the like. I was took it pretty literally. Yeah I mean I don't even take it. I don't I don't actually mean like did. She literally adopted him at some point. I just like I would love to know what kind of transpired fired. I guess it is the trauma of the cyanide pill and it'd be a prequel that could be interesting. You silver the SOCIETAS. Yeah so then Hong Kong though it seems like she she gives that very quick explanation. or She's like I cut him loose. I got six agents in return. But she's not to be trusted. She's not to be trusted. But I think you know whatever happened. I think it's something that perfunctory I think. Because what you're supposed to walk away from this is that these agents really are just agents of the state and changeable all and no one cares about them even though the bond relationship at the end is like very moving That's in defiance of how this is all all arranged. One of my favorite parts about this movie is watching Judi dench's face when she's in With Bardo because it actually. You can't tell sometimes like whether or not she's just like this guy the discussed actually legitimately terrifying me Because the especially at the end when he puts the gun and he says do it to both of us like he puts the gun to her head and he puts his head next to her. We didn't really talk about that much. Like the whole ending of the movie. An EMS death but the way in which that transpires she seems legitimately disturbed by him. uh-huh yeah acting but Judi dench good actor you think about her career. She's not really in that many situations where like a very tall man in a blonde wig is just doing Sova. And then there's or even that there's a gun or her head what's really exciting about this guy fall sequence Judi dench's Kinda doing some actions at least for Judi dench and I would expect it as a new situation. -Tuation for her. Yeah no I read that. This is the most screen time by far than M ever had in a movie. All the James Bond movies which is interesting to the idea of leading her really be the coast are the movie who on the Movie Barber Brockley. I think it really resets him. Andy's career I always say the director because I can't get that out of my head but it doesn't send a spectre and now he's got nineteen seventeen coming Out this this winter also with Roger. Deacons you know. I was kind of nowhere in the movie business. Because of the way we go and he would have been able to get stuff media but it does it reaffirms his place as the top top top tier because he took a franchise property and got it more awards and more money. I mean what's more powerful than that and I think it does the same thing for the Bod franchised sure and certainly james bond wins every juvenile said and makes it people really excited about it again and and reminds people have the possibility inherent in it. Yeah so that everyone is still excited about all all of these movies. Despite the fact that it's coming up on the twenty fifth bond movie and people are super overloaded with franchises and spice stuff shared universes and all that right and also obviously I'd like Brexit and everything it's an it's an old conservative character might scaife on manages to address all of those issues at once. I it's weird it's like you. I don't think it's the same movie with them you know. I don't think it works. If it's geoffrey rush or you know Johnny Depp for I guess somebody who hasn't been canceled might be nice trying to think of Allen Actor X. Louisi- replacement placement actor. They're wearing Khakis hanging out. I just don't think that they do is are out of control. I never doing these Friday afternoon again. I don't think that you get the movie without him. But I still think Mendis okay. What do you think using Burnham? I'm no I think I think the Broccoli Family James James Bond Franchise. I like that. I'm convinced on a film unders. Yeah known I think James Bond like James Bond continuing as a powerful force in in our lives as movie goers is. That's feels right. You deserve a sandwich and cold Heineken. Yeah well we're Khakis right now. So you can imagine how excited I am search for Amanda Dobbins and Sean Chris Ryan this has been the one..

"Yeah and I guess that was her idea to jump on the bed but it was. That scene was supposed to end in the bathroom which they apparently built. Oh God and then they never. And that's got to be a bummer. Right Oh my God. The budget was eighty five million dollars. Which is insane to make worldwide two hundred million okay so back pretty? Well not like gangbusters but I did pretty well for Tom and I just felt like General Cameron Diaz is like the spaces cases in her home. Just didn't really feel remarkable. The England houses so much more memorable staircase. Yeah it's cute calming down the little staircase and you think you're gonNA hit your head like I just like those cozy little places and then there's like a fire little mini fireplace. Yeah it's very true. We are also three people living in La something cozy which is very true. I also thought it was funding. Has she was cameras like wear her like hat and mittens inside. I feel like that is also very. La Things sounds like no places actually very well Heated so you're always cold in. She probably just like us to do that at night and it was. It was pretty funny. In general I think aged twelve. Oh what can I just nominate one metro bomb in the middle of a Jack. Black as romantic address is just not that does not in two thousand in nineteen. That's a great. That's a great like he was having a moment. Maybe I know like school of rock was a thing. Yeah you know that. He was a comedian he was popular. It makes sense. It's like a softer like jude law. And you've got Jack Black. Got Something for everybody but I know in two thousand nineteen. I don't know I don't know what's what's going on. Well this is a great transition into casting. What if okay not a lot of casting? What after this movie because Nancy Meyers insists that she wrote it with Kate? winslet and Cameron Diaz in mind in very early on Jack Black and here's what she had to say about it. I thought he was someone. I'd like to write a poem apart for and I'm aware he's not Clark Gable. He's not tall dark and handsome but he's adorable. He's lovable. It's my way of saying this is the right kind of guy. This is what most guys look like if they're lucky. He sowed horrible and why not everybody has a heart and serves fall in love and he she. You got a great girl so I fixed mode Kate winslet. I think all of that is true. Yeah except UAE or you making him sing weird scores blocked by an error goofy faces. Yeah just the horn off. I liked. This movie is about movies like I'm a nerd. I think that's cool or whatever but when he's just like wandering wandering around singing random scores from like driving miss daisy like no thank you know live eating there is there is the every man and then there is just lower extent. I probably coming off of tenacious. D In School of rock. Maybe maybe a little bit different. I feel yes persona at the time was just a guy who sings in movies and like has the worst thing that's ever been said the little overacting we land like he he's going he's kind of annoying like I. I'd be friends with him. I just wouldn't ever want to kiss him. I wouldn't I just don't see that connect with one point. Mr Watch where. I was rooting for Kate. winslet together with Arthur. Because I'm just like this is an interesting person who's lived a life and who respects you. And who gets you a corsage Josh. And who isn't like all other thing about this character is that he's in like thinks he's in a relationship with some dumb actors for the whole time. Yeah and he only realizes this is the kate. Winslet is the person for him like with five minutes to go in the movie beyond what Kate winslet. Anyone deserves. True it's better than that. It is true although although I like that actress she was in forty days and four. Nine saatsmen yeah. No disrespect to her ashes. Playing apart. Sure I've said my piece I agree. I agree with you but I think that's the point. That's that's how she wanted it. All right. Does it might not track but I think that was the intention. Okay I mean right now. I think that that's true. So you know. That's that's that's where the movie Kinda hits hits. The Wall I the Cameron Diaz Movies Way Out in the Kate winslet movie. But you don't feel that Kate winslet I like it makes you like her more have already invested in her and now she liked. You can tell that she has a thing for Jack in the sometimes when a very pretty free beautiful girl. That's smart and funny lakes the guy that Kinda seems like he has no business dating her. I'd like them. Were yeah that yeah yeah a little four. It's four love it's a share. I think that's really true and let me be clear that my objection to Jack Black is not in any way Jack Black looks like or even that you would date a funny guy but this character is really annoying ink and they don't have any cash. They seem like nice friends. Yeah they seem like people like like she has made some friends in L. A.. And that's nice character who i. I actually think that is very good in the got a great she makes acting within. It's basically like this character is spoke to settle for the friend. She's more totally. That's that's that's my objection with ice. I support it. Okay it could have recast him. Yeah but I had the whole idea of who I thought could. Let's go. I thought maybe Matt Dillon Because he had just this come. I think wasn't deal in question. I he's he's very good looking. Yeah and he was slightly older at the stager Ren he's funny. It was funny in something about. Mary was a jerk though. I know but I feel like it's his chance to not be a jerk. Lazy Rom Com beautiful girls. Yeah great movie right. He could have been that character a little bit but with. I don't know the only thing I might not have bought it and was him playing piano as he doesn't seem to call to me. I think Jason Segel would be perfect. Remake Oh oh also another guy. That's probably not good enough. Good looking enough I maybe under him. Yes I remember saw spot for Jason Segel and also things like dramatic. I feel actually would have been a really good knocked up. I liked that he was knocked up and forgetting right. Sarah Marshall Okay. That's what it was like that character would totally fit. Yeah yeah I I don't know I just I love Jason Segel personal pet PET INTERESTS Like I said there's not a lot of cats this like every every interview is like insisting that she had it with those two in mind uh-huh the two event in that July that then she like wanted to write a character for someone like Jack Black and jude law like she said they had like chase up change some things for him. And the way that both Cameron Diaz and Nancy Meyers talk about Jude Law. Taking on this role is just sort of like the subtext is can jude law. Play a good guy. I like a lot of questions about can. He be appealing and endearing. We're just we're just pretty fighting and I will also say I realize jude law is does not seem like a particularly wonderful human to me. Don't have don't have a lot to base except for The tabloid stories but his various relationships I once saw him at the high with Arc. Light just how rakishly leaning over the counter. You're having a very engaged enthusiastic. Conversation with the staff of the ARC. Light about how the assigned seating work now angry or no..

Om Amanda Dobbins is here we're doing a reward now you and Jeffrey Tambor Halloween scenes good hours notice in your authorize Angeles Jack There is nothing I can do about it I convinced a man today spend eleven million dollars of my ideas I gotta go besides there's going to be Halloween I know there will be other Halloween thinking about the Selena I mean these kids and a couple of years grossly I really don't seem to have upgraded Jack I mean I just like the I like Halloween scenes I realized like in movies right and it's the only time they kinda confront hey kinda lose in the family hair because we'll get into what stage wears she just stops being a mom for like an hour that's just completely interesting thing going on with the kids anyway perform I will like I said I found it kind of refreshing just from the I'm not a mother but I have a lot of friends who are in I consume a lot of content like aimed at thirty year old thirty seven year old women which is just about just a constant flow of anxiety about how your failing because you're not being everything to everyone and and it really impressive a real bummer I was like oh I kind of like that she doesn't care maybe fewer people should care I like that her attitude I also like that I'd been waiting for her to kind of be like it's for him to say hey three kids just had to come up at some point great I like that he was dressed up like a prisoner and actually thought he was pretty good in that scene I not sold on her which we'll get to later then the the ending where just Textbook Goofy eighties ending where and Gillians in his room with a drink and he comes out of the shower then Teri Garr is there did they bring that film it's a real okay guys we have run literally four hours to finish this whole movie it's abrupt would that's I also had that what what was the most reliable listen for me it's the utilities Keaton versus like the washing machine yeah and the vacuum I I realized that the ironing grilled cheese on ironing board came from this movie as well which is something that I feel has showed up in other movies and is definitely a trope but have you have you done it no I've never done it but only because I don't have an iron 'cause that's helpful because I'm dating Michael Keaton with the flannel shirts so I don't have you done the iron groceries no so here's the thing on the approaches to go it's the best way to make a grilled cheese the problem is it ruins the iron so it's almost like you need the iron to just be roaches iron but who would do that 'cause it's going to get butter and cheese in the little holes and then you're ironing a shirt and it's getting grilled cheese stuff on it right but you have to assume that at this point in time a specific grilled cheese dedicated iron is cheaper than like a Panini grill or whatever there the all in order to make a girl cheese to go ahead that's what I'm saying the the lesson from this as they should make a real as it's really wonderful way to have a grilled cheese. Let's talk about the Mr Mom TV show I'm Voodoo family it's a fulltime job new original series Mr Mom follows the andersons navigate family life in modern times based on the movie we are talking about right now tells the story of Greg and Megan Anderson is they tackle every issues that are acid than the family and work as a team to overcome the unexpected challenges raising kids there are challenges challenges every day Eh. whatever but it's just a good gimmick Like Oh my God how does the washing machine work whoever's doing that I enjoy this pink actually liked about this is that it doesn't treat it as a huge novelty that it's a man at home or just kind of like well you got to stay at home it's more like he's a moron at home yeah exactly and there are the mean judgy MOMS which there is still are in two thousand eighteen I if you've ever been on a mommy board which I have like vicariously nightmare situation but it's it's just he's outmatched and they don't spent a ton of time being like can you believe that a man would stay at home no not at all how did them for that I also liked another what saves the best for me is he makes friends with some of their their MOMS are actually real friends are playing poker they take him to a male strip joint at one point the Group of friends I thought Jillian was really good in this movie I would say to she was in a show called it's a living this is back in the day when I watched every single sitcom that was on because we only had like four channels it was a show about a bunch I think it was a bunch of waitresses at a club trying to make it they all had dreams but it was the city mm-hmm and she was like the breakout star of it she and I think she had a dance background so she was like famous than you know like nobody Craig's age would probably know who that is but she the I have a moment and she's good in this she's got the right level of you know she's the the horny divorce friend WHO's checking out Michael Keaton movie but she's just something likeable about this in on the joke yeah yeah you seem less like like the United I heard that character me I can't defend the character before but I don't know if I needed like that love but we'll talk about it she's good yeah Keaton Watching soap operas great style is both Oh what's the best and the worst I watched general hospital during this era this is what was on during the day they have the Internet yeah we had ten channels like all right what's your soap opera now I mean I remember staying home from sick and you just want to make sure you watch prices right because otherwise it was oprah's game shows and soap operas so it starts at he makes fun of it and then within five minutes he's yelling at somebody 'cause another words as your best it's always like rocky training music montages we yeah I was Gonna say the pop culture references in this have aged really well it's rocky jaws and they do like chariots of fire during the during the race that you were talking about and normally when you do really timely pop culture references in a movie or a TV show or a book thirty years later it's like what what are you talking about teats it instantly Wayne's world is a great example of that they do especially Wayne's world two yeah it's a lot of very specific culture steph then somebody like Craig now I don't get that but they picked really well all time stuff yeah I kind of like the tuna commercial the tuna with a heart barry eighties it was smart it's not that's one of the things I have done like the idea that brands have to have a heart yes it's like very very of the moment every single brand on twitter as like here's what we can do for you to make you feel better about yourself and that they have that in the committee she'll instantly this was a very eighties movie TV theme of how do we connect to the public oh by being human beings like they are and it just felt very nineteen eighty-three to me but it's aged nicely because they brands are thinking about this style you can see it every day on twitter the ridiculous ending aged here's what's age the best about it and for whatever is in the eighties it was like okay we've set out we had to out how to do a better ending nominees all the always tack on four more scenes and you're like I get it I get it let's go so I agree with you there brevity the like okay we've tied stop let's go it's they just wouldn't do it this way now but I kinda missed the era of half we said everything we say let's get out of here yeah because night shift to night shift ends book because I really wanted to watch I'm GONNA text you like once every two days so you watch it it ends abruptly but it's another one where it's like yeah she probably have ended it there and then said I'm glad you got out what's age the best for you we have two more okay go this is a controversial and I'd love your take on it as a person actually knows has experience with this parenting seems pretty good to me in this yeah this there's no helicopter freaking out stuff they kind of treat the kids Pantley they can make their own lunch he has that neigh speech about you gotta give up your blanket to give it up none of them cry none of them are knowing touching each other you're right it's it's a very nice clean family I thought that that was inspiring also this movie just Kinda accepts on face value that state home with the kids it's like a fulltime job and very hard work.

And one time I turned down the aisle at a grocery store, and I just see a girl pulling out multiple containers of ice cream and like pumping her fist. Somebody who really gives about. What up girl? Oh celebration. With her especially fuck. They were fucking stoked on the flavors that you guys were getting that freezer. I was nailing it. Really? A dream. Funny. I was like because I loved that. I was witnessing that moment because they believe that. Yeah. And then I was like oh my God. And I know her. They manner. I wonder honestly, if I do that every time I get it tub of ice cream. That was possibly. It's just learn your brain just like because it on loop reach for the ice cream. Fuck yet. Doing something. And then you see someone see you. And then you realize that maybe I'm behaving like a lunatic. You weren't. But I definitely had moments. Like that where I'm just like oh, fuck me. I mean, it's a daily current. I need to become a little bit more self aware when especially in grocery stores because I spend most of my life in grocery stores. And yeah. Every time I walk into my it was just here. She us fucking here. They even leave. No, yeah. Oh my God. That when I used to work at a grocery store, those were my dreams, we're just that. I was working at the grocery store. And then I'd go to work the next day that go show was like fuck, I die here. Like oh. You don't have this g to go in the back of check. It's like bitch. I fucking live in the store. I know what we have. And we do not count sounds more like a nightmare than a dream. It's all the same my life. It's a waking nightmare. For the listeners at home. I got to describe your water bottle. "Our back categories feel free to throw in some suggestions most rewatch able seen should almost dobbins picks is gonna take any answer that's on her own personally here's some of the candidates indies bake over who doesn't like good makeover can't can't argue i i voted i've a note yeah okay initial outfit horrible horrible just for that for the first chanel booth yeah hate it jack okay well i would wear it to anyone wants to send that to me available to many studs on it the i have to get a book the harry potter books seen that's my that's my really good really strong bummed out miranda without makeup that's the oscar real moment for very sad good good one and then the paris double cross really she'll make it up to me you're you're going to have you on the second half of the movie i love the first half ramey i just think that the some of the stuff of the second apps really good they're they're chew iconex scenes let's go number one is the blue sweater speech stuff oh okay i see you think this has nothing to do with you you go to your closet and you select i don't know that lumpy blue sweater for instance because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back but what you don't know is that that's what it is not just blew it's not turquoise it's not lapis it's actually seru ian you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in two thousand two oscar de la renta did a collection of civilian gowns and then i think it was eve salary wasn't it who showed civilianmilitary jackets i think we need a jacket here and then surly and quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers to filter down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic casual corner where you know that fished it out of some clearance been however that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when in fact you're wearing a sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of stuff number one that is just a great meryl streep putting people on her place seen i feel exhilarate it every time i watch it it's like it's like my braveheart speech but also this means a lot to me they should put it on the scoreboard very basketball games but also that that's has kind of that lives outside the movie now a lot of people will reference it as this is how the fashion industry works and it's obviously a simplified version but i've had conversation with my inlaws who are lovely people who don't care at all about any of these topics and they say this seen as like oh i know what you're talking about because it's like the blue sweater in the devil wears prada and it has become kind of its own okay buzzword moment what was your other seen the other one is the stanley tucci speech yeah wakeup sweetheart this is a place where everyone else dreams to work and you only deign to work you think this is just a magazine this is not just a magazine this is a shining beacon of hope for oh i don't know let's say young boy growing up in rhode island with six brothers pretending to go to soccer practice when he was really going to sewing class and reading runway under the covers at night with a flashlight no idea how many legends have walked these halls and what's worse you don't care because this place where so many people would die to work you only dane tour he's really good in this movie of the movie watchable sure but i actually think it was funny to watch this now and this.
