"The not too distant future. I don't know as far as overrating vegas i'm not. I don't know what ratings the he's referring to. But i think they're a good team i think one of the three best teams in the west alongside a saint louis in colorado. And i. i'm with you. I mean they'd like to have some more easy scores. They they have the whole patch already has an another good year. Stolen of course is a is there full for them. But a you know. I i i think. Probably the guy that needs to return to form for them as marshall a little bit we had an unreal year the first year. They were in vegas and he needs. He needs to score for them. He really does But i i don't know that they're overrated really. I people look at them as you know the top third of the league and i think that's where they belong As far as la man. They've got that nine in the world junior tournament two years ago. They had nine guys in the tournament. This year Their pipeline is getting pretty full of prospects. How can they be well. It depends how those kids develop right like i. They've got the potential to be An up and coming young developing team in a hurry. You just have to hope that you know a third of those prospects really stick. It could be just again earlier. We are in the nhl regular season. The goal tending seems to be a theme of this podcast. Today's anyway map wants to know who is going to get more starts in vancouver by the end of the season is going to be the young up and comer n- thatcher gamco or. Is it going to be reagan. Opie i think the difference will be five starts between the two of them. I unless things go right off the rails and they decide to play damn co all the time to get them more time. I think we'll be. We'll get a few more starts. But i don't think it's going to be a great difference interesting. That's good kandhamal right. I heard probably a week. Ten days ago jamie. Madonna and talk about the best hand in hockey in his mind. Harry price an jake. Gallon provided dr coke can be as good as we think he's going to be. There's no reason the question that i don't think at this moment that's a pretty good tandem. I would say by league. Comparison isn't it. It's a solid. It's a soul of doom. And i can't tell you guys gonna be better than the other and that's probably why. They moved so quickly on hold. Once they moved on from jacob marks from they decided they couldn't couldn't get back contract on they moved on. And now you're you're withhold being cohen. you've got a vet who looks to bounce back and you've got a young guy. That's going the other way you know who's who's resume is growing. I think they're goaltending is not going to be their problem. This you all right buddy. What's your week. Look like i know this week is. It's a tough one with all the games that we're doing across the board. It's game after game after game after game. That's that's pretty much it games as this week Some jets intermission stuff. "Viewers favourite part of the rain eggs occupied gas. My throat punch for this week is a little bit divided. I'm not sure it's a person. It's a thing of whatever. Went down last tuesday in your house to sabotage your feed yet the throat punch from my perspective. And here's why not only did we miss your cutting analysis. You're keen sense a humor your personality on. Nhl preview but in the mere minutes remaining in the one hour preview. i had to make predictions and projections. and i don't do predictions protract and so graphically they told me i do now. I had to essentially take your predictions. Which i mean you're prying they look fair to me. Although it's a delicate issue right. I mean you never mind the religion. Yeah you shouldn't mind position worry about relationships and things like that because all seven canadian teams in the north. We all have contacts. Do right. But i think i think i had winnipeg like fifth or on my prediction projection lists in the they were. They were fifth on if they remind there were fit the anyway. Oh yeah you're gonna have to dig out of that. We got done. We done the preview show. It wouldn't have been five minutes after we signed off. And i'm getting texts from people in winnipeg say nicely you to not dissent awesome. What's supposed to be a real good year for us here. I'd prefer to be the underdog anyway. So whatever happened there. I don't know if it was a gremlin in your system. Whatever whatever that was gets my throat bunch this week. While as it turns out drags it was in hd gable which of course. I have no idea that that would have been a problem. But you know our tech department figured it out so yeah thanks for stepping in their. Appreciate it for for the. I don't know how many times i've picked myself as a throat punch but damn this is getting old. I'm telling you so. I'm in auto off friday for one of my few travel games. I fly back saturday morning. So i gotta get up early five thirty in the morning and ottawa and get on the plane. And i'm you know. We land on three quarters asleep still and organized. But i'm i'm trying to get out so get on the phone and call him landon. Who's in germany. my son. So we're talking. I get off the plane walkout You know through the through the terminal get through security. Three quarters the way to the parking lot. I realize i don't have my luggage. What come on. It's an important part of the trip yet. I've left my loved my rollie bag. I just have a carry bag. I've got my computer bag but my rollie bag still on the plane so i just start holland atlantans. Like what is so funny. I'm like you're not going to believe this man. I just i left. My luggage in the plane is the plane go. Yeah it's in the overhead bin. So i had to go back in get to an air. Canada representative tell them what i did. They were super helpful. But yeah my throat punch is my lack of travel acuity. These days i am. I am traveling knucklehead at this point but but you've done i've done before you leave your laptop soothe bag. How many times have you you. Even when you're sitting in the back you hang your suits upfront on. They're nice enough to allow you to do that. I've walked off the plane. Probably half a dozen times over the years go. I might need that laptop that suit back. But just just think this drake's i got my computer bag over my shoulder. My phone's in my pocket. And i got my earpods in. Yeah and it doesn't occur to me that both hands are free. Like i'm just walking like this right do and i thought pull anything like you think i would have noticed somewhere but obviously not all right. Well that's an early. Throw a punch for yourself. You have done an force. A lot of i i i like. It's maybe the third maybe even the fourth time but that's the first time in season two but room in six episodes in drake's six episodes in men what i said. It's early aspirin rigs anything fire questions to us on twitter instagram apres and rakes on our website. Rain-breaks dot com ray. Benjamin wants to know. How long was the leash for the goalies in edmonton. We touched on this a little bit earlier. And you talked about The defense and just how things are just a big struggle in adamson right now or benjamin is suggesting is being too harsh on the goalies given the young defense in edmond. Well first of all the leashes is really long. Because what else are you going to do. They don't have cap space to go get another goal. They've gotta wait till mike smith gets back from long-term injury and then they've got their two goalies but you can't just go make trade it's edmonton i think drake's by the end of this year wall will clear about twenty two or twenty three million dollars in cap space and so if team if people are looking for things to change. That's probably the time to do it but this isn't just on meco coskun. I mean he's he's not been fantastic for sure but man. They are running all over the place in their zone. They're real. it seems like everybody's trying to do everyone else's job and and while that's going on nobody gets anything done all right. Dan wants to know. Why is everyone so high. The vegas golden knights when and they haven't been able to put the puck in the net and it nothing to address that in the off season. How good will the kings beat in a couple of years with their good prospects coming in. So i did. We overrate vegas. Given the fact that they're not producing a lot of offense and then we'll shift over to los angeles kings whether you think given the Prospect pool. They are going to be a real good team in.

"All right. We're joined by our good friend. chris. Abbott from cool. Bet dot co and a lot to talk about. Chris obviously when you look at the national. Football league playoffs continue. There's some interesting storylines in the national hockey. League is well but let's go to the nfl. I and we've got the bucks. We've got the packers classic match. You got the bills. You've got the chiefs. Bizarre injury for patrick mahomes right now by all accounts. He's he's fine. That's what they're telling us of kansas city that he's going to be okay but do injuries especially when you're talking with the magnitude of a player mahomes. Are they taking into account by all the websites all the people who are trying to set the lines and whatnot with the gambling procedures. Yes well first of all guys. Thanks for having me back in. It's an exciting week. We're coming off last saturday. Which was actually the busiest bedding day on the calendar that we foresee this year Might get trump by the olympics if they happened but Yeah the injuries are certainly taken into account so the chiefs opened a three point favorite at home against buffalo. That line is is set presuming. Patrick mahomes will play If he doesn't play for some reason i expected to go. Maybe six seven points in the other direction He's that important even though you know when he's in there he's been fine but Yeah it'll certainly. It will certainly play a huge factor. yeah i mean this would not be the time i expect the nfl to be at the forefront of transparency when it comes to head injuries not this this week so Listen i hope he's fine. I hope he's not pressured into play. And and i hope we get a patch. Patrick mahomes versus josh allen. It'd be a lot of fun so chris. The people get in early on the week. And how does a line change as the weather starts to become a fan. Yeah i mean the both games are are low. Low Spreads three points each for the home team green bay and kansas city. And normally we say we allow three points for home field advantage so basically the oddsmakers see both of these games as coin flips which is really really exciting. What we will see. Raise the total change as the rank goes on in green bay right now instead of fifty. One I think it opened a little bit higher than that. I think they are expecting it to be a little bit cole. Maybe a little bit snowy. I think you know what we've seen so far this year. Anyway especially when it comes to the packers. You can't sit the totals high enough. So i actually think this is. This is a bit of a low. Total for these teams and at fifty. Three and a half for casey in buffalo to cold weather teams. You're not gonna see a lot of guys running the ball on either side like this could be a long game with each guy with like forty to fifty paths at them. I think so. I think both those totals are certainly under a spotlight and in jeopardy and the weather will play a big factor. As we've seen especially last week you know when the wind is up the kickers missing. At how many times do you better total and you miss it by three points. So that's something to consider or even even the point after attempt which these guys have struggled mightily with. How can there not be thirty. Two guys in the world. that can kick up point attempt after. I don't understand it to win. I don't have an answer but man moving it back to stir that man. That's that is turned into way strategy. Now that they've backed back those kickers back it's amazing it absolutely is. Yeah it's exciting. I mean you've got the four quarterbacks that threw for the most yardage this year. I i'm really looking forward to both of these games. I mean what a great story line with brady against rogers. And then you've got josh allen who is like a patrick mahomes was a couple years ago right so even patrick mahomes comes in. Is the jedi master. Even though he's still he's still a kid. It's gonna be fun. It's gonna be great in fact but you do have that showdown between rogers and brady. I mean audio. Establish an edge. Their quarterback quarterback. I mean brady always seems to have that factor. But my mind. Aaron rodgers is the best quarterback in the game. Yeah and you know. I think this game will have a little better distribution of pass and run because we have seen both teams. The jones on both teams have been able to run the ball and they both got a chance now. They have over the last few weeks to establish a dual running back through leonard for nets. Been a hell of a lot better. And you've seen aj dylan out of boston. College start to make his mark as well for the packers. So it's still gonna come down to brady and rogers. I'm sure we're not going to be watching late in the game gone. Okay here comes this big run play. Now it's gonna come down to these two guys. I think for green bay. They need to get out. Had they need to get out ahead early. Because i mean how many times have we seen. Tom brady orchestrated comeback late in the game. And the always gotta be wary of that. The secondary for green bay has been better. But it's it's definitely their weakness So i if you leave. Tom brady any gap here. definitely definitely be nervous if i'm a packers fan however One of the things to keep in mind. And i'm betting the packers. I absolutely love them. This week They went up against the rams last week. And everyone said oh you know the rams defense will finally slowdown this green bay team. And they didn't and they played other top defense. Nobody's been able to stop these guys this year. This game's gonna come down to whether the secondary receivers green bay can catch the ball like Marquez valdes scantling. Acrimonious state brown. As long as they don't the passes that hit them in the numbers. I think the packers are going to be fine. It's tough love. We let you go chris. We can't end hockey podcast without audible hockey in some way shape or form before we started rolling here. We talked about how scoring a national hockey league out of the gate shortened. Season was up so in saying that is. It's still to bet the over. If you're looking at some of these intriguing head-to-head mattress particularly in the north division. Yeah i mean especially in that division. I think we're gonna see. We have seen a lot of goals. I don't have the numbers in front of me. But i'm gonna say eighty eighty five percent. If not more of the games in this division have gotten over the total. Now you will see the oddsmakers adjust like i think it says six and a half for winnipeg and ottawa when they meet on tuesday night. So that's that might be a little bit high but You know they're adjusting and then You know we're starting to see teams that that are not scoring like the bruins. Don't have regulation bully yet. So i bet the under with them in the islanders and other stingy team and the game ended one. Nothing so we're gathering data as we go and it's been a lot of fun but we're certainly starting to see the teams that are allowing a lot of goals. Goaltending a huge problem in chicago so betting the over in those games is probably a smart thing to do or at least bet the other teams goal total to go over so Yeah we're we're gathering a gathering information we go in and the books will start to catch up but Yeah there's some games where you're never going to be able to set the line high enough. I think ribicoff gross. Thanks enjoy the football. This weekend are gentlemen and hopefully we talked before the super bowl super bowl will always is. You said this last week was the biggest betting day of the years. A super bowl. The super bowl's massive last week. We had you know there was a ufc card. The in full swing so cumulatively yes Now we've got a conor mcgregor fight coming up this week and then the super bowl the following week. So yeah it's going to be a big january for the sportsbooks but yeah just in terms of everything that was going on it. It was a big day for single events Yeah you're looking at the super bowl and then high profile fights like a conor mcgregor fight. Yeah i'm looking forward to your choice. Heads or tails for the super bowl. My favorite batsmen tales and tales and yellow gary. That's it is perfect. Thanks guys thanks so much take care. Be well for many people right road. Punches evolved into our listeners..

"As you're ever going to meet if if people listen to to our pod. Here and didn't know shane or weren't quite familiar with them. Outside of a player you might listen to him and think all yet each trying really hard to be a nice guy if you run into him at seven eleven or a boston pizza. That's what you get like. His his whole way is is just the way you should be like. It makes me feel like a schmuck honestly listening to him. Because i'm like just everything he's doing he's all in and committed and passionate and he's doing it for the right thing. When i heard that vision that they have in arizona. I'm like that's the only way the coyotes franchise is gonna make a real foothold and it's a grand vision. But they have this vision from jeff vinik in tampa bay and it's clear that's part of what they're trying to follow. I thought shane was was an awesome player. I hated playing against them. Because drake's he would run over toppy not even really noticing just like you were a speed bump is the guy waste two hundred and thirty five pounds and he just any go right over. Top scored four hundred goals and he had nine hundred points plus Just an guide so glad he was able to come on today. Yeah and full credit for a man who has stuck by the arizona coyotes through thick or thin and there there were tumultuous times when he left to join the national hockey league. He did it because there was opportunity opportunity to learn not further as career. Just learn but he didn't talk about the bad stuff that he could see again. A front row seat is what was going on with the arizona. Coyotes pushed outside ill when the opportunity is there to come back with new ownership and what e jumpsuit in man all hands on deck and the arizona. Coyotes are much better organization.

"Bay and you look at the way that he hasn't just he hasn't improved organization. He's he's directly improved that city in the whole like the people tampa bay are better off because the lightning are in their city. And i think that's probably the biggest thing for me is it's cheesy but you want to be able to instead of a professional team kind of taking kinda want to maybe give back instead of and without a doubt it's going to be you want to have benefits of of of being in a community that that works in an and kind of flows around the whole organization. But you wanna be givers and takers. I think the the opportunity that zeneca's kinda shown and then the morale is their passion is to kind of improve the improve the community so that the community not just are happy that the team's winning but happy that the team's in their in their city because it makes it helps people out and that's that sounds cheesy but i really that's that would that'd be my goal said this that we be an organization something to make the city better so that sounds bigger and lofty. But that's what it is. Yeah i mean it's an enormous vision but there is actually a model and does the tampa model play into what ownership been arizona. Thinks without a doubt. You you talk to mr merlot. And he talked to have air like have heirs. His selling point to me was kind of cares. And that's really he. He wants to stress out and stay like we want to. We want to make a difference in people's lives. Not just not just come in here and and obviously the goal is to make money and obviously the goal is to create a situation that's going to be beneficial for them but we want the people in the in the in the city and in the valley to be happy that we are here. And that's that's probably the biggest thing and and and you look at tampa and it's just it's fascinating. There's actually the doctor crow. Who is the president of asu. He's had kind of the same philosophy in what he's done here in this in the valley has changed. Asu and turn them into this juggernaut of university while the hold time helping people like creating online's online products and by going to different corporations in creating programs. He has a thing with starbucks. It's just absolutely fascinating. And he's improving people's lives by using a few has kind of the vehicle and so you start to see. The corporations can really make a big difference if it's done right and hopefully we can do it right. You played fifteen hundred games In which is just unbelievable Anywhere on the past. Did you think of management or coaching or whatever was coming or were you one of those guys that was just kind of this is what i'm doing and i'm just plowing ahead I think that probably at the towards the end of my career thought about it But i love the play. Like i like if i if i could go out and play right. Now i'd be out on the ice goofing around the let's too hard now though. It's too hard too fast. Everyone's but it's not fair. How fast they were. That probably was the biggest downfall. That was very obvious to myself at the end. But man i played last night like i goofed around and played in a wreck hockey game last night and had a blast like i love the game so without a doubt. I was aware that you know the game ends for everybody. I don't care if it ends at ten years old or at forty years old. That ends the doesn't end. It ends up the ability to play the level. That that's what you think is highest level. You're capable you have to start backing down your expectations. Which i'm doing drastically now but at the same time. I love the play so much that it was just fun and i i always enjoyed it being aware. The it's going to end in a way that you can help the organization I'm a big guy on relationships. I think the relationships in inside a hockey club is what's the best part of it. The relations with the players in the theor training staff in the coaches in the management. I i think that's important for an opportunity to be involved in that. As hockey people are awesome. So i enjoy hanging out with those guys. I always thought that maybe i'd be involved somehow. Okay you said you played last night Drake sent me this thing. From one of the great characters that we played against jeff rodgers and rg scored a goal in a senior game and said he went back to the bench. First thing he did was he looked up at the jumbotron. Of course there's no jumbotron now we're making yourself haute on the the jumbotron. I you know when you're sitting on the bench. Lifetime the went to the corner instead of looking down to the corner. Sometimes you just pick your head up to look to see what's going on there. I to look at what's going on in the corner but it is so true. Your habits get song. Great the same thing over and over It's it's it's fun though man like the game is so fun and the guy's a flat like it's it's a different environment. Obviously but when you're in the dressing room doesn't matter. I mean you could be in the dressing room with mariel of you're to be in the dressing room with the guys you know that you're just from your local friends and it's it feels the same in. It's so much fun. And i i just enjoy so i'll keep doing okay so you you've played all this time. You're built like a cement mixer. Like when the first time. I told drags the first time i saw you gear. I just retired. And i was in the arizona room and you walk through and you had like your t shirt your shorts on and i'm like holy crap. No wonder i could never run into. You could get anywhere was reached injuries. It lingered on like i mean. Now that are you dealing. I had to get a new knee like it happens to all of us but like did you have anything i was. I was pretty fortunate. I blew out my knee really bad in junior. So i had a seattle mc l. and meniscus all redone the year before my dropped and when it was scary because obviously you start your career with that was going into my draft here which is just a freak accident guy sell on my leg. Who has we are in. A fight fell on us in the middle of the fight and the popped up the back which was not comfortable but it was never an issue after that so i was fortunate. I gotta shoulder. That's you know that doesn't work the way it's supposed to you wake up some time. Sometimes you definitely feel stuff at throughout your whole body. Know what's best part though about being retired is reaching my hands into my pockets and my hands not hurting. I don't i never end. Fight that much but you get whacked on the hands and you'd get you know he'd block a shot and take one and you would never miss a game for him but you could never put your hands in your pocket. You should keep going to get your keys in your like so gingerly reaches in or your or you can't put your shoes on get hit in the foot with parker. You know all those things that i'm like man forget about the fact that your hands and feet don't hurt for like nine months of the year and then that's i got. I got lacked on the finger. The other up my goodness. I don't know kane. You mentioned the speed of the game now. And you had the opportunity to work with some of the quickest players about the fastest player on the planet in this offseason. That's connor mcdavid. Of course who trained with lost in collection of nhl players in arizona. You're out there varying times. Open them run girls what I mean you had a front row seat with high level town now. It's not game action. But still i mean had to have been impressed. Not amazed at times That.

"Alright. Lis to be joined on. The rain rigs hockey podcasts by arizona coyotes. Chief hockey develop an officer shane. Don dahler explain what that is. I think i've got a pretty good idea. I'm sure ray knows more about it than me. But i mean are you on the ice. Are you evaluating your prospects. Are you looking at your proceed. Doing all of the above. What does a hockey development officer do for the arizona. Coyotes well as of right. Now it's your you can't really get into the onto the ice or do any of that because one of the one of the groups. I think i once that's kind of all dealt with than i'll probably be doing a little bit of that as well but right now. It's probably a little bit more on the business side working with the with heavier the president and then obviously Talking with talk. And then going into st bill once in a while and Helping out with. I can there But i think in the end rent right now. It's so hard because everyone's kind of doing a different job because you're like how can i help. What can i do now And that's really. What kind of wasn't my plan is as of today donor. You've you've been around the coyote since they're since they moved from winnipeg and how. What was the decision to get involved more in a full-time bates. There's always been a thought that you need to be involved with the coyotes. What was the what was the step. That said alcaide. This is the right time for me. in what i i had spoken with the morillas We went out for dinner last january. And then colbert everything can happen. And we kinda backed off a little bit and When have air came in and got involved him. And i started to get to know each other and his view of what i think a professional team should look like was really something that i resonated with me about how you can really help the community. A professional team should be the healthy community and make it a better place. And i started to get excited about that. Obviously working with the league and being over hawks was like it was so much to have that experience of one kind of bring it to the to. The coyotes was really what i. I thought that i have a chance to do that. And so i was kinda when i got probably the most excited after talking with beer and and getting to see their view of what it should look like so the the difference has to have a little bit to do. I would think what the connection to one team. As opposed to your at hockey ops. And you can't really be a fan of anything. You're just hockey ops correct. Yeah the dog in the fight like the competition the Watching and n n. I mean my connection to the coyotes is i mean it's it is what it is the team that i wanted to be with him and and worked for and wanted to stay with her as long as i could so that when the opportunity and they presented an opportunity. That was probably as much as anything they're like. Would you be interested in doing this. Ties again my great negotiation by doing all. You can probably do a better job than that. But i talked. I felt like i learned quite a bit of hockey outs. With just the way the way the holy in murphy roddy they kind of they meet with people with you know walks kinda runs the officials and wets kind of make overs views. Everything on the on the goalies in distant overall hands on with every club. I learned a ton of just being around those guys and i felt like i was in a spot i can help. And so when they offered it. I was excited to think that i could help. It's probably the biggest thing. Oh i don't even know how many years ago it would be shamed. But i live in vancouver and you mentioned that you always wanted to stay with the coyotes. There you were a free agent and vancouver came at pretty hard was. Was it really difficult for you to say no. This is where my roots are or did you. Did you give it a little bit. Thought all i looked at houses in over all over a point grey and we did. We did the whole thing. My wife and my wife's from new issues born in new s. We live in kamloops during summer autumn shoe shop during summer. So it was something I got my brother-in-law leads in lines bay and so i was It was something that We really thought a lot about san. I had an opportunity with demi with misra leaning and was so impressed with him and and the whole organization. we just finished finished being in the conference finals. And we had yan's and we had oliver larson coming up. And i probably and smitty was just amazing so you kind of thought we got. I'm not leaving now like now when we when it came down to it i was like man. I'm not leaving. "Importance for the pandemic. Whoa it is of course. I think i'm going to say it's an oversight. But i don't really know how you would have been able to you know to keep the current roster size and and try and figure out having a goalie available. This all started drapes with corey cart. Crawford's retirement in new jersey and when corrie unexpectedly retired jersey. All of a sudden was left in the lurch. Wait a minute. We don't. We don't have three goalies anymore. And so that started. This carousel of anton forsberg to carolina. Waivers back and then aaron dell and some of these third goal. These these backup guys. They're going to have crazy miles on themselves by the time. Ever get into a game this year and it and it's so weird because they're not really in connection with their team. I mean they get to the new team and still on the ice with them with the black aces or the taxi squad or whatever you wanna call them but it's odd. It's an unforeseen circumstance that carries a lot of weight when it hits your team. I mean there's been team scrambling for two weeks here. And i don't really know what the answers you need a goalie today. Great you bring him to your team. He's got to sit in quarantine for two weeks if you're in kansas. You don't need them two weeks. You need them today. And there's no real way around how it's one thing speaking of goalies that that is always confused me and and maybe because of your playing life in your experience with your starting goaltenders you appreciate the position. Your head coach. Not naming the starter. I've never understood it. Being a member of the media and i assumed wrongly at least for the moment that because of the gambling influence on the money that is potentially available to the national hockey league that the nhl was going to step in and say okay. We have name. You're starting goaltender for gambling purposes and by extension lying just named. You're you're starting lineup. If it changes gametime cages gametime. Who cares but i'm pull. That's not going to be the case and united had enough conversations on this topic for me to know that. That's a bit of a pet peeve of yours. i can't stand when the coaches don't name the goalie the old come to warm up and you'll see i. I just love having the control. Because i can tell the after playing twelve hundred and fifty eight games and we'll ask shane dome. Who played fifteen hundred games. If you ever change your your game plan because one goalies enter the other goalies in you. Don't the only one i can ever remember. Honestly was martin brodeur. And probably ron hextall to that if you don't the And that was when they could go to the corners and man you dump the puck in the corner and if you hit the boards to hard it komo get it. They're like a better passers than half defenseman. Boom out of the zone off it goes so we digest a bit. But it's not about shooting on the goalie. You're shooting at worries. Not right like you're you have to react you you have you. They say we don't want them to have a book on the goalies. These guys have jake allen and carey price have played a combined nine hundred games. I am pretty sure they've got to have a scoping book. The other teams do on them. So i i hate it. I think there will come a time when When that information is available and in your rights rates the sport that has the the most Gambling on it his focal. And everybody's trying to get information that's gambling on the games. And they're all trying to find out. Is a quarterback in is quarterback out is running back in whatever it is and eventually you gotta make your decision whether you want to the gambler. Not on the game because that may change rate a game time. That's the way it is. But i think in today's informational world. Then that stuff will probably be more readily available soon. I'm not saying next week or two weeks. But all in relative near future and money talks right like there could be. There could get to the point where all the money. That's in play here. Michener bap says sorry glowed. I know you don't like naming you're you're you're starting goaltender get over it. Because there's there's tens of millions hundreds of millions of dollars player. I i don't i think it's naive to think that it's not all gonna come together. And they're all end up with some regulated policy for your lineups. And quite. Frankly i i look forward to it because i can't stand that line. You gotta come and watch warm not really who cares. Yeah exactly are agreeing. Wrap-up headlines with this interesting conversation with a team late last week. I'm going to touch on insider trading on this topic but this team in particular said you know revenues last year because the pandemic kidding in march we're down to eighty percent so down twenty percent of what would be normal. That doesn't sound like a lot. Based on the fact that the season was taken down the knees In march bought now the projection. For twenty twenty one is forty percent revenue. And that's going to change club by club but this is a major market team. I'm talking about here. And when i'm wondering is we know the cap is going to be flat. Eighty one five but that revenue number. That percentage obviously is going to influence the appetite for some gloves to resign. There pending unrestricted. Free agents or get into the market of an unrestricted free agents. New magin a difficult. It's going to be some of these guys. Were coming off an offseason where there were so many one year contracts and players just hit two hoping to hit the reset button. So now you take those players you throw them into the market with the additional expiring contracts and forty percent of revenue. It could be a real dark time for the unrestricted free agents. Next offseason wall i i would say term is in great jeopardy for almost any free agent. You know somebody looking for three four five six years i. I can't imagine those contracts are going to be there. Certainly the number is gonna come down and we might focus on top guys. You know because those numbers are most eye-catching but there's gonna be a lot guys that are that are playing for a lot less than they thought they were going to be. You know last march now. Don't also forget. Drags is aside from lower salaries and less term which i think is a given. There's also escrow. There's you know the that the gets carved off the players contracts so the number you see is not the number you get or the number of the players. Get and so this. Is this going to be a long time. I've talked to a couple of gm's did have said look. We're looking at three to five years before before this gets back to where we were in man it might not sound like longtime or maybe it does but for a lot of players that's going to be the entirety of their career. I mean it could be an you look at some of the guys who are in the final year of their contract. Friday anderson comes to mind. Now what are the toronto maple leafs going to do thou Do there. there's big big questions and as you said firm probably gonna matter. "We have an interview with coyotes chief development officer chain known man. He's been a busy guy of late. Not just the national hockey dating back to the off season. Where effectively ran greening gates for Connor mcdavid and austin matthews among some of the other. Nhl stars will talk to donor above that. Lots of heat ray. On rand rigs twitter this past week around the cross. Check to the back of austin matthews. The toronto maple leafs complained a bit about matthew's didn't but those around them did then people. Now i guess leafs fans in general complained about it. You're not a fan of any one particular. Nhl team but you didn't like it. Because i think like everybody else you thought it was a penalty. That went uncalled nearly three hundred comments on that particular play and people seem to be divided. You lived it so it's a penalty bottom line right. Just call it a penalty. Look the defense should be able to clear the front of the net. You should be able to move guys around. You should not be able to bury anyone with a crosscheck and abused this example before. And it's not even an exaggeration. You'd be in front of the net and the d. Would be cross checking you just kind of on your shoulder pads on the back on your back but on your shoulder pads right and after about the third one. The ref would yell. That's enough and you're like wait a minute. The first two were penalty as well. There's also a safety thing here too if you think of it. If you're getting cross check from behind like on your shoulders if you get it hard enough you fall for pucks coming from the point now. Your face is about three feet off the ice their inherent danger to look. They've got a book a rule book. Just call it just. I understand given some leeway we don't wanna take all the toughness of the game but penalties penalty man like it hundred percent agree and look. I mean we shouldn't expect the national hockey league steven. Welcome colin campbell. Anybody to call a conference call with all the referees and say would you start calling this. It almost happens organically. Doesn't it because there was so much talk about out one individual play in the media. You know these guys. They don't tune out everything i mean. They're they're hearing the same level of noise so maybe it just happens naturally where they just start paying a little bit closer attention to what's going on but eh they're gonna need to have some penalties handed out or else there's right. There's no reason to stop if you're the d. You're going to keep doing it until somebody gives you a reason not to do i. I acquired a little bit. Drake's to the running into the goaltender. Just think how many there used to be now. That penalty is cold every time. It's tuesday today. Is we take this on monday night. Down cal connor got a running into the goaltender penalty against toronto and it was the right call. He should have got a penalty. And i think we see way less of those plays now than we did even two years so i think that's what they have to do in front of the net again you and we'll continue to talk about it. Not just young on social media as well headlines week ray brought to aspire friends at lagaras dot com the garowe dot com jewelers. Valentine's day will be here before we know it has come a quick so get the lagarde dot com for something that you know she's gonna love and let's do valentine's day op right. We did it upright last week. And we're gonna do it upright again this week. Overall your impression of the first week in the national hockey league lot of mistakes others some galvanizing moments as we just talked about. There's been some lopsided affairs. i didn't see saint. Louis getting walked away they got tagged by the colorado avalanche. But your overall interpretation are your overall view of the hockey thus far faster than i thought it was going to be scrambling thought it might be but i think that's pretty predictable. I don't want anybody thought that teams we're gonna come out of the gate and everything was going to be a playoff ready right. I mean the guys haven't played in forever. The ten days of training camp just isn't near enough and in particular with the long lay often. I mean there's been some. There's been some great stuff you know. I mean we've seen some of the best players make some amazing plays already which is always really interesting. We've seen some things. You can't hardly believe in boston's played three games in the haven't scored a goal at regular strength yet. I mean that's our for me To believe i. I watch the game on the weekend. And there's a the data charles sitting in washington jersey and man that i thought he looked good in it but it just looked on. We're gonna go to a new team after a long time and they don't look right. Yeah yeah but didn't charles look good in that jersey america. he looks pretty good in that jersey ash. But it's still it's still different. Definitely different You know. Dave tippett head coach. The is very very well and and again. We're recording this on tuesday. The ordered played four games. They've sputtered out of the gate. With the exception of the one game. Where dry sidling. David were lights out. Good as advertised. Would you be concerned. Would you be altering the structure. Because you're goaltending is week. Your defense isn't as good as you hoping it could be or would you be more patient and just kind of say okay. Let's just kinda hall of some of the rough edges year and and hope that the goaltending falls in line with the rest of our game while a in their monday game. They made a couple of changes on defense. They took out their two young guys. Ethan bearer and caleb jones to me. That's a more conservative. Because they'd give up just a bucket load a goals in the first couple of games. Yeah some that's on cost in but mandrakes they're They're going to miss oskar cleft bomb. They already have but they've got to find a way to play around it in. I don't know. I don't know that they could go with the two young guys right now. I think chris russell needs to be in. That lineup is kind of a just a steady third guy and he's not flashy and people you know analytically. They don't love the way that he plays. But i don't know that two young guys right now is is the best way to go because they seem not just those two but as a team they seem to be scrambling all over the place. Give up forty shots at night and doesn't matter who's a net mardi gras door can be a net for. You're giving up forty shots. You're you're gonna come out on the shore. Animals night's bigger goaltenders. I didn't think we'd be talking as much as we've talked about the third goalie on. Nhl teams and you know again. It's obviously ovid related. And maybe these. The national hockey league forewarned by what went on with the denver broncos in their their quarterback situation where they had a wide receiver from their practice. Roster come in in half the star just because of how covid nineteen. You'll hit their quarterback core but there's been a goalie carousel hasn't with that number three goalie because that's position now..

Yeah it was february in buffalo says pretty cold and I think i was out to dinner the night before and i didn't wanna pump gas out cold. It was. i always do that. Move me and most runaway away to the game. And i was. I had not much gas in the tank. So i really the heat blaring in the car heated seats gone music going off. Probably like probably ten minutes in the rink. One o'clock game two and All of a sudden the car starts slowing down in the highway and I run out of gas on the way to a game some panicking but like we had left early enough where we weren't gonna be late but we weren't going to be on time like we were gonna late rights on one o'clock gained. Erdogan sees win in local votes, but loses Turkish capital
"I was in Turkey have dealt a blow to president wretched top wound during local elections on Sunday as his AK party was soundly defeated in major cities often nearly two decades of political dominance, despite Mr. Adnan's tight control over Turkish media and his enduring popularity in rural tacky his party was edged out in the capital Ankara, and the country's largest city is Tom bull at a news conference. President Ataman said he accepted the vote results. Jim Davis niches, it all I believe. The only reason we couldn't get the results who wanted in some cities is that we could not express ourselves enough to the nation, and we felt when their heart solar. First time the race was neck and neck in country's biggest city Istanbul. However, the opposition won at least three of Turkey's biggest five cities and the result in Istanbul is still disputed. Now, these are local elections give us an idea of how significant these results might be the elections were very important for prisoner Doan because winning the elections in Istanbul and Ankara have always been something special for him. He's political rise began twenty five years ago when he was elected as the mayor of history bull and Istanbul and Ankara had been run by Islamist welfare party, and then prison add-ons, Justice and Development Party since one thousand nine hundred ninety four and Mr Radwan had almost twenty rallies Istanbul alone on Friday and Saturday, and he also described the local elections as a matter of survival for the country as you've indicated his party has dominated local elections for a very long time. What is happened to make so many Turkish voters change their minds? The main reason for this loss is surely economic was of Turkey. Turkish economy is in recession the inflation hit. A fifteen year high twenty five percent last year and is nineteen percent right now and Turkish leader lost almost thirty percent against the US dollar lussier and six percent in the first quarter of this year.
