"Hares. But it's less eight hundred I was recently going through a bunch of stuff from Catherine's parents that they gave us and I found a some of Catherine's MOM's baby hair. Oh I know It's a it but it's like wow hair. Yeah that stuff. It lasts that stuff lasts. We should we should build things out of it before we get to the all important news from Mars and AFC Wimbledon. I just WanNa read this from Diana who dear John and Hank I've been wanting to keep a gratitude journal to change my neural pathways and be more mindful a few weeks ago. John mentioned he is doing this with a curse card journal. And I can't find on the Internet help you. What the heck is it? Is it better than the other options? I think it's better than the other options. I've tried other gratitude journals. This one is my favorite. I don't think you need a formal gratitude journal to keep a gratitude journal by my kids. Do It in a college ruled notebook and that works fine for them. So I I'm not putting pressure on you to purchase something But this particular gratitude journal is beautiful and I do really like it. And it's made by the people at Kurtz cassat. I think I said that right. I probably didn't close enough. Here's what you do you type in gratitude journal and then you type J. U. R. Z. G And that should be enough. And if it's not just kind of go symphonic on the keyboard and just see where it takes you Kurtz yes. It's a German word Kurtz Gazette. You'll get you'll get there you you can do it. It starts with K. U. R. Z. Yeah and IT'S I. It is German for in a nutshell. So if you also search for in a nutshell you'll find it. That's true all right. What's the news from Mars this week and news from Mars this week? Researchers are working on the next generation of Martian aircraft by turning cardboard to inspire the next generation it comes out of the University of Pennsylvania where scientists have designed these tiny flyers. That are about as heavy as a fruit fly using a special material called. Nanno cardboard which is not cardboard. is a hollow plate made of aluminum oxide. Walls that are only a few nanometers thick. The cardboard part comes from. I don't understand this just for clarity so I'm GONNA say what this I'm GonNa give you my best approximation of what's happening. There's ridges inside the cardboard that are formed by micro channels along the plate. And they help this thing levitated because if one side heats up Then it creates this temperature gradient that pushes gas through it in a process called thermal creep. So whatever that is and then you could use that airflow today make these things hover and but what you need to do is to heat up one side of it and so you do that. With lasers shoot one side of the of the cardboard with a laser and then you can sort of steered around with the laser like which part of the cardboard you're pointing at changes the direction that it will move in the air and researchers are want to use this levitating ability to fly things around on Mars. Maybe so they're testing it in a low pressure chamber that mimics the Martian environment and while they could be used in a a number of different ways. Mars is appealing because it has thin atmosphere and a week gravity that mean that it could potentially carry a decent amount of stuff on the cardboard like sensors or even like sent like samples that had gathered from the air or from dust in the air or something like that so that wow is something that they're thinking about is sort of laser in these tiny little flat. Fruit fly weight slabs around Mars to see if they can sense more of the planet. They couldn't land except back where they came from or they would never get back up again. That is really genuinely mind-blowing weird. I don't know if I don't know if we're ever going to do this but at school. That is very cool and Berry very weird well the news from AFC Wimbledon is also cool and encouraging the AFC Wimbledon Foundation. As I talked about last time Hank has really taken on a lot of community work. This is included getting laptops or tablets to It is also included lots and lots of setting up outside of grocery stores so that people who are in need can supplement bear groceries with free groceries as well as delivering food To people who are in need and this has become such a big thing that the don's local action group you can follow on Twitter. Don's local action they were on TV. And also. I hear that other people who are doing this work are also wearing yellow and blue even though Bayern not football fans and do not understand why we wear yellow. And I find that so cool. I find that very lovely and moving that Afc Wimbledon fans have started something that is now spreading to the wider community. Even outside of football it's really. That's just so beautiful. So thank you to all of the volunteers who've been working so hard and taking this time away from football to do some some big important good in the community awesome. Thanks John and thanks to everybody. Who sent in your questions. You can do that. Using our email address Hankins John at Djamil Dot Com. Didn't get to very many questions today. We did ENTIRA. We'll we'll save some of these one for next week. I think because.

"Safe save slots if you hit continue. Continue it overrode. You're safe slot. That did have technically something there with now than you black that up then if you were connected to the the Internet backing out of that would trigger the auto save auto update which would then shoot it to the cloud. Which would any race your backup on the cloud? Then draw that back to through the system which would therefore eliminate your I believe the average person Mazar hundred players at times was ranging between eighty two hundred fifty hours so all oh that guy this trying to fix it but the problem is fixing it will not bring back down. There will only prevent it from happening so that was a problem right. Well well angriest pat again forget superbeets as well as a few other players announced that it wasn't just that the resource problem is there. There is like an ingrown anti cheek and an external anti cheap that are like running at the same time which proven runs the performance already runs bad. It became so resource hogging this game resource distribution when the game first launched Mazda in a world of BC was already your problem. There were a lot of frame rate issues. The thing just being a resource hog. It was running like ten instances of pulling same amount of like ran from your computer. You just do all sorts of dumb bullshit making game run bad. It was to the point where it was turning off half the lights impacts room when he was trying to play wants to walk it was pulling so much bullshit. It was funding causing a problem and other people did report this being a problem as well where it was just fucking with their lights so yeah I support pretty fucking broken to the point where it's your irs. Now it's it's absurd. The fact that is that broke the team. I'll I'll even internal darkness on Kinky right. How so turtle darkness for for those who knows fantastic horror game that did shit shit like fuck with you mentally like showing that erasing your save file? Didn't really turn the TV off. Screen had all of a sudden showing something in there to see. It was so good that they would do stuff like that. This not so much stuff now. The the explanation for why online is so bad on. It is a little weird. It's one of those resource distribution in terms of manpower. That's being done kind of weird. So once and hundred world is like again as I mentioned data. Now like the best selling Capcom game in terms of units to exist to time that it's existed Because obviously overall I think streetfighter twos the best selling Capcom game but anyways the problem is all the actual oh good online people are working on the NC and resident evil remake. Were there online shit on pc so there was nobody left. But those who don't really know how to do it it was a hundred people. Were the only ones left which is a bit funny right. Because doesn't it seem like one hundred world needs more online shit than DMC five or fucking resident go to remain an ear sets a distribution of the resources. I feel like all hands on deck monitor world. I haven't played resin able to remake so I can't comment on that but in regards to devil may cry five. The online doesn't even really matter. Yeah because it's just whereas in fucking Masa one hundred world it's the whole fucking game is play online priorities. Cap Cook Fleet. Yeah so again cap called. I started become dot com. They could actually make a cap god rather if they can fix streetfighter the next one. Because that's even real franchises really fucked up Arango fixed it for them right at my. That's crazy yeah. Wonderful prediction might happen. Where the patch out the fake? That'd be hilarious. I could see that being thing would be capcom. Is that main. They really are But there's nothing to get better. It's just that street fighter and then the way they're handling is sports stuff his both. There's very little bit behind. Yeah in terms of planning thinking like I got my issues with street fighter five but the main thing is fucking fixed. Fix The net code man. It's like if you can fuck in increase if he can better your ability for online play your golden because because I fucking hated as a huge pet peeve I fucking hate it when people in the SEC like don't put it off. Don't play online man. Play offline good your locals some some people. Don't fucking have jury or the balance now the whole thing that Pat Belfort's apparently an old thing in the Joke that because GPO great like net cody and everyone using all. They're fighting and there was a fake tweet talking about how to year was going to be ready todd. GPO when Patras the tweet it was the fucking go. fucking plead guilty gear Mike. But he's really disappointed because he was really hype that guilty you're going to have. Yeah it's it's just a shame because stuff like that like you said not everybody gets to go to locals or has it in Agean if you love street fighter and your only real thing Only gives a general and you're only reading online because you live in the fucking boonies his no nearby place to go play for sure man like there's a streetfighter seeing here but most of them can fuck off so go online play some streetfighter number rubber banding all over the place. Guess what especially the way. The puppy roll back runs and fucking streetfighter. Ryder is weird. Oh Yeah I mean I mean yeah I kind of wish. I could filter into that. I don't have to ever anybody playing wife. I don't know Maximilian around that right router. Yeah that will not fuck matchmaking that he shit Internet but that's one expensive browder. It is not as bad ass. Yeah not not everybody can afford that fucking exactly and that's the thing. The whole thing is acting as if everybody can just do this. Yeah but another thing is the principle of the fact one in person went into the fucking net code and said Hey I found the fucking problem. Two days later fixed it and then streetfighter five has been now for what four five years. Now yes and Capcom. Hasn't fucking done a thing to fix it. Held like in the words. Lemon had we can think of. It's fucking bullshit. So it's it's insane that you know Oh fan can fuck and fix it when the actual company can't it's like they're Bethesda or some shit. I can only Hope Street street. Fighter six is GonNa be a lot better more polished and tighter game than fucking next five was is is speaking of tightening up stuff river city girls on pc did get an update recently. Better stay transitions in loading times. Sure that they're looking to bring that to the console versions suit but people seem to be like an update on pc which is good humbled humbled on Dole is running a double check to make sure is running on this fucking goes up anyways Twenty five dollars. It's an wrestling fire relief a bundled it. But it's fucking twenty nine fucking bad ass games or twenty five bucks. That's less than a dollar per exactly to go to get it before June third so when this goes up you'll still have a couple of days to go ahead and get totally drug twenty-third. The fires happened on in two zero almost thought I heard January two so I'll make sure the bill Murray edited on the fucking episode. How ear rate loudness how? Clearly I said the twenty-third that's thank you John. The full list of included is Hollow Night Bass Turns Doug Game had to crawl obviously good once subscription quite a few. But they're all already have already made up for it and then Bullshit oh bacteria which is game but whatever yes oh it's again going for a good cause and the fact that you get a bunch of ask games for like seventy five cents each fucking crazy. You really cannot beat that. I'm waiting the EPA crossover that will be entitled Duck Versus Goose Game. You know that would be a thing because India does knows You heard it here. I I'm excited for this upcoming week. There's going to be a new game coming out of our system. Works called CO shifter. I'm very excited for that. Because not aginst. Is it a platformer with some interesting mechanics on with an emphasis on like computers hacking and stuff. But it's also going to bring in a character from for various steer game that I enjoyed and talked about quite a bit last year which was the Oj Matfield from dating backfield. Long fucking title by a game by of deadly premonition and fucking defame or fame. So that's really exciting that she's going to be in there because I'm very excited. Choose a cool character. That was what an amazing game because the the backfield game is really awesome in the sense that it was a really good narrative on fucking a an amazing trans character and everything and just went to handle. That was very well so especially Passi wasn't very good at that and it was a bit insensitive to some people but swears showed that he wanted to learn. He consulted people within that community to to make sure he didn't fuck up the representation it a game in which the narrative is a whole dark story about this person and their life as so there's really not see important. Part is that he made an effort. Yeah you always have bullshit people. I Talk Howard. You always say they want to learn shit and then don't give a fuck about learning. Yeah don't listen. Listen any feedback from the pitch for the actual people all right. So let's get to the main topic before we do. Make sure if you have any questions or feedback comments or what else. How wrong we are? You can hit us up at disconnect the castle at gmail.com once again that's disconnected cast mail at Djamil Dot Com. So I part of the story is delays so we were hit with a futile as one of them was the game. Gives a fuck about so. Who Cares about when that comes out because hopefully just gets canceled because that's never that never opted by point of that is when they announced roadmap is when I gave up? I was already the visuals that everything was so shitty got over. That of the game was good. Did they did a trailer with like fake in game footage was all bullshit it. There's no real in game footage of that game. Three renders often rendered Johnson and then on top of that they said. Oh it's also going to be on a road map. They said that when they said that bullshit going to be on the season pass road album out already Alberta I'm ready halfway out the door behind you that point so fuck that But one of the game's going to be getting delayed too. I announce it was offenses having rebate delayed for March to April tenth. Of Not that big of a deal the second thing that was the late and delayed by Shitload slowed. More time is cyberpunk being pushed from next month. All the way down to September seventeenth ago delay CD PROSAIC red dead confirmed there are not going to be PS five or xbox sex versions of CYBERPUNK it will just be current Gen and PC so there is that the unfortunate other thing they mentioned. And why I'm bringing up. This main topic is that they said at this. Of course the delay is going to cause a incredible but they said a little but I know how that really meant title Crutch and here's the biggest problem so Jason Schreier recently put out an article of a fantastic article covering coverings which I will link below because this is what like. Maybe you WanNa talk about this as the topic is we live in a current time. Wherever in the game community where they here again's getting delayed? We're guilty of this too. We've all said this. I said this many times where I go. Oh good I'd rather come out five and cut out early. Which is true? Do but what people don't know is that what game does get believed for the shed..

"djamil dot com" Discussed on The Struggle Bus: Self-Care, Mental Health, and Other Hilarious Stuff
"Like taking medication for mental health. Thing is like a cheat or something like that Anyway I guess that the question how would you explain to someone. That medication could be a necessary. Part of a treatment plan and for many people isn't abandoned. Solution I I don't really I personally not to like reject the premise. But I wouldn't then I probably wouldn't even bother trying to have that conversation with apparently just because I think convincing parents of things can be difficult because there's like a lot of baggage around like the way you are and the way they parented you and all that stuff that I think is a little bit more complicated than like I think sometimes parents are like you know. Why would you need this like our parents? Did you find or like Oh my God. It must mean something about the way. Apparently do that you need this. I just think there's a lot of baggage there and it's to me. It feels a little bit different than having that conversation with someone else On the other hand I don't even know if I would. I would try. Try to have that conversation with someone but it's really hard for me to think of a way to like convince someone like I guess you could. You could show them like what experts say about these things. Although I guess there is data out there that when people are confronted with facts it just makes them like double down in their beliefs. More more so I don't mean to like filibuster just that I guess like my question is like why is it important to you that your parent is on board with if your strategy around meds because I think you know like you actually said really eloquently in your question like for some people. There are long term treatment plan and for other people. Maybe they're not and I think like both are totally okay I think probably the more useful thing is to like. Have a conversation with your mom about how you would like occur to respect your choices regardless of whether or not she like understands them or understand like the science behind them That said if you're if you're if you are determined to like bring your mom around on this point which is totally fine? I guess I would probably start by asking her some questions and saying like what is is it about this that makes you think they should be used in the long term like I just. It's it's hard to know how to address concerns without really understanding. What the concerns are? I mean and my my fear with this is that the concern is like I just don't think people should be on meds. I think it's we shouldn't need them. I mean then it's like what can you really say other than like okay cool but like I do do need them and I'm going to be on them I don't know Catherine what do you think about this. I agree with all that I mean there. There is a part of me that you you know when someone says Oh. Here's an article pointing to this. They can always with another exactly to that right. So that's that's one thing I thought about is that may not be the best course of action but at the same time time I know this may sound harsh but I wonder I I liked the conversation salary recommended of you know there are some things that I work with me and my doctor that I'm I'm under good care and that's all that matters. Why does it matter to you kind of thing of I'm going to be on this and if you keep asking me you know this is between me and my doctor and things are going well you you know but also you can? You said it yourself perfectly and I'm going to quote you taking out the first part of the sentence of how would you explain to someone that and I'm just going to say you can literally just turn and say well. Medication can be a necessary part of a treatment plan and for many people. It isn't abandoned solution that's it that's the answer that's the tweet you know. And there's a way alleged. Shut it down but just make it clear that this is not up for discussion and she'd be like Oh. Yeah for some people that can be short term some people. It's long-term in for me right now. This is working and I'm doing really well. I mean if she wanted N.. Double Down and say but you know I would. I would if if you feel comfortable doing. It'd be like you know I don't really feel like talking about this with you. Yeah I I yeah. I think that's totally cool and I think also like it's fine to try one strategy of like. Let me try to bring my mom around to my way of thinking and if you're hitting a wall and it's not really working you can pivot to the other strategy which is like I feel really good. I have really good medical care like you. Don't you know between me and my doctor Catherine and set you know and I don't. I think that it's this is the thing that I think about a lot like. How do you change? Someone's mind about a thing when you know they're wrong long and then you know they're wrong is like my own bias but like you know I at self where I work. We recently published this package talking about vaccines and there was that was so good. Oh thank you Yeah and like part of the thing that we were trying to do was like speak to the people who are are not really anti VACs but who have had experiences with health care that make them very suspicious of what doctors tell them to do And of like and I've had experiences with Not just healthcare but like with insurance and stuff in with medications that make them rightly so very very very suspicious and very skeptical of like anything related to like health and medication and stuff like that but you know they also are not anti vaccine quote unquote. They're just not really sure. What is the right thing? They are worried about their kids and they're hearing a lot of stuff about how vaccines are free. But then they were vaccinated and say think it's probably fine. It's like how do we talk to those people and like you know convince them that vaccines are really important in that they save lives And they're really important for public public health without like we don't want to pander to people who are antitax And we don't want to. I also think that like as someone who used to be an organizer wasting in your valuable time and resources trying to convince someone who's very against your point of view trying to bring that person around is such a is such a waste when you could be trying to bring around people who are like much closer to being on your side of things you know And I think that's that's something that I think about a lot. It's like you know. How much time do I wanNA spend trying to convince this person that they're wrong and maybe maybe that's like my own kind of problem and it's actually not about convincing someone that they're wrong it's like convincing advancing someone to just see your point and trust that you know what's right for you And obviously the the. It's like an apples and oranges analogy because on the one hand you're talking about getting your mom to kind of understand where you're coming from and I'm talking about how to convince like an audience of a website to be into vaccine so really different things there but I guess what I'm saying is like I think this is a really. It's really tricky. I think it's it's it's tricky Get people to see where you're coming from because we all have really really strong strong beliefs and you know if someone tried to convince me like if someone tried to bring me around to. Their way of thinking in their way of thinking was like to be against medication for mental health. Absa fucking no way they could bring me around to that point of view and that. So that's tough. You know because there are people who are the total opposite and that makes your job really hard of of course someone could convince me. That like meds aren't the right thing for them personally or that like. Oh yeah you know or that like And I guess even even then I you know I might disagree with them But I guess then you get to the whole thing of like respecting someone's decision anyway. I'm now I'm just getting really in the weeds and I feel like we need like an episode on the show to like disentangle this so can you rescue me Catherine. Oh yeah no just going to say an if this were a general question of. Let's let's say somebody was legitimately interested in like. Hey how does this work. Here's how you can explain medications. Maybe as a suggestion as yeah you know some people think it's a band aid solution Russian and for some people it is but You know your body chemistry changes over time for those of us who need it. There's it's quite possible you'll be on it for the rest of your life as long as it's working. Yeah totally yeah. I think that we covered that Afrin and I just picked the song of the week Nice. "You're at a older age you're putting more hardship on your children who you know may not have the funds to take care of you. When you're older that money could potentially help them take care of you when you're in your retirement age so that's something. I always tell parents and individuals like you can only think about pay at a present tense. You need to think about in future tense if you continue to leave money on the table and if you don't ask in advocate for yourself you are taking away that money from your family. Wow that's great. Think about pay not only present but also a teacher tons. I love that and so like for example right if a man is making thirty thousand dollars more right but let's say you pay twenty percent in taxes on that. Let's just for argument's sake that's about twenty four thousand dollars. Let's just say I'm doing the easy. Math twenty four thousand dollars twelve months in a year. That's two thousand dollars a month. Do we could do two thousand dollars a month a lot. Yes a lot just a lot of you know. School vacation take We're getting a tutor for your child. Say letting them go to summer camp you know exposing them to things that other children have opportunities to you know get exposed to so just think about that. You know you're not only taking away from yourself also experiences and opportunities for mutual. Because you're afraid to ask for more and more second happens. They say knowing menu. Just you know finding new. They're going to say I'M GONNA give you money if they start retaliating. Then that's that's another conversation you know like that's something you take the EEOC about retaliation but if you get a no then that's a key indicator view that you should start you know. Think about. Is this the place for me you know? Do I want to work where they know? There's a pay disparity and they don't WanNa fix it. Do you want to continue working there? I know I wouldn't want to so do you. And then in terms of because I know you know the data. Do you think we're GonNa see pay equity you think that we're moving in the right direction because it looks like we're not right this year. It took twenty more days than last year for Latinos Make the same amount so I feel like we're going the opposite direction. What do you think would do the numbers or the history show? I think that I'm very optimistic about it. I really think that we will make some progress in the next couple of years. Of course it's going to take some time to fix a lot of the disparities and inequities that we're having with when it comes to pay. But I know there's a big push in the compensation community in regards to pay equity in like I said before the organization enrolled at work is doing an amazing job on educating HR professionals and compensation professionals on. How do we fix this? Within our companies and there are companies out. There that are you know that are fixing the issue and so we definitely in an. I believe that's because their employees are voicing their concerns. They're asking. Her leaders are asking their company. This needs to change And so I really think that we will make progress if we continue to advocate for ourselves and bring these issues up to our companies and to our HR PROFESSIONALS. Okay so we have to keep talking about it. We have to not be afraid to talk about money We have to not be afraid to ask for what we want. Yes it's it's a lot based on like fear. I feel like a lot of things. It is and the lack of knowledge and so it's fear and not knowing. I definitely think that that's something that we need to work on as as women is to get over that fear into really arm. Ourself with the knowledge of you know. Where's my compensation rainwater? Where issues out there right now when it comes to pay equity these are things that we should start doing so if you could tell women? I want you to do this today tomorrow. Take this first action. What would you say I would say? Go TO PAY SCALE DOT COM GO TO SALARY DOT COM and. Follow the steps on where you're where you're compensation range should be and ask yourself this. Do I want to continue to make less than what I'm making now or do I wanna make what's the market is telling me? And if if it's if you're going for the second one then I would definitely start with the process of salary negotiation. Doing the research getting your accomplishment. She getting arming yourself with a lot of information and take it up to your boss because if you don't do that then like I said you're always going to be missing out on money so definitely go educate yourself and look stuff up okay. We have to educate ourselves ladies. Okay so now. We're going to do something that I do with. All my guests just going to ask you a few questions to get to know you better and maybe get some recommendations. What are you reading? Now what am I reading now so I know this is probably cliche but I just finished the Michelle Obama Book. So if you haven't read her book go check it out. Yeah it was really. I really enjoyed it. What is your favorite city Far Texas? It's a border town at the tip of Texas. That's my hometown. And it's rich with Latino culture and that's why I love it. Okay and how do you get there? Like what's the closest? I guess you can fly into mcallen. Texas different airports in that will take you to far got it and is it. S. A. R. P. H. A. Okay yes totally wrong okay. What's your favorite beverage? Oh my favorite beverage it would be. I will eat the hot chocolate especially during this time with a little empanada on the side. Very hungry okay. What's your favorite date night? I would say going to the ballet and having dinner before the badly I love seeing badly shows. I just saw a black swan and it was awesome. I'm live in New York. I've never been to the ballet. Spigham I should you should. You should go. What's your favorite way to practice? Self Care I'm a big proponent of going to therapy and so I definitely think that's self caring itself you know not only do. We need to be physically healthy but also mentally healthy and so I go to therapy at least once a week and I talked to my therapist about issues I'm having or experiencing and she is such an angel. She has helped me through so much. And I think that everyone should have a therapist and Talk to somebody. Okay and tell me what keeps you? Hopeful given the state of the world and our country. What keeps me hopeful. I think it's you know my generation the millennial generation and Jen Jen's e Because they're I've seen a lot of individuals coming on advocating for issues and and things that they want to change not only at the federal and state level but also at the at the local level. So definitely my generation and In technology and I think technology can really help us have a voice out there. You're right. Technology has given us a voice and access to a lot of that information that you were talking about earlier like we wouldn't have that we didn't have the little internet or we can go and find out probably everything. Jackie thank you so much for all the information I can't wait to for everyone to listen and start putting all the steps in place so that they can ask for more money because we are worth it we are and you deserve it and you deserve it. "Diabetes? You have a higher chance of diabetes etc so freaked out already being in the eating disorder when I was diagnosed with just like started birth almost like every felt like you know and so yeah so a new more in my weight stayed perfectly the same I haven't really suffered any in huge consequence from it but he had something to live with to write about because I think it's they still don't have a cure for it and it's something that's so common with so mad like one in ten women the thing that we just don't have really a cure for it although they're starting to get more and more medications to help treat it which is nice to see yeah Do you like how does that. How is the reaction usually like when you discuss that with the partner I'm I'm curious specifically about the hairpiece as to how is your mail your heterosexual male partners react to that I've done an episode like on body hair and I just feel like as women it's like we should talk about the ship because it does impact us and that goes totally against the societal standards of what beauty he is an overgrowth and yeah? I'm just wondering if he can share a little bit about that. Totally I usually like because I've posted search online about like having bellyache wax upper lip and stuff like that I feel like for the most part is just kind of how you where you know like. I don't care so it's like I don't care anymore about whether or not that affects might male partner it. It's just something I live with to me. It's not a big deal and so I think I have kind of dislike way of presenting it. It's just matter of fact I certainly don't. I don't make a big thing of it because I have Chester Lake a little bit like it's typical pain in the ass but I have a little hairs like right around like my chest. Areolas uh-huh Dips Ed. That's it's common yeah I used to be horrified by not like body image like horrified by and now it's just it's just it's just is what it is that I could do about it so other than like a other than get it waxed on every now and then but at this point I'm just Kinda like well the white me with without a shallow than to be on like whatever exactly yes no. I I feel very very similarly. yeah we could do a whole conversation on on body hair but I think that's amazing that you've been able to reach that place that I used to make such a big deal out of it and it was like so terrified of it and the more than I saw other women talk about him. They get my lip wax. I was like Oh my God people. Do this talk about that more because it's like an I've started started admitting obsolete body hair oftentimes net with like a unanimous like I'm in a group of women are animus amount of like Oh yeah same yeah exactly what so we're all going through this crap like spending like all this exorbitant amount of money to get rid of hair would really seems like pretty much all of us battle at regardless of PC OS. I decided that thicker hair that like cubs ed subjects because of that male line that melted saucer on but yeah so. I wish we could do a whole upset. You know there's there's quite a few women especially women with P. C. O. S. like the House beards because that's quite common. I don't struggle with that at all but there are women that have like enough excess that they literally I mean they do have beards and there's this one woman I can send it to our cannot think of her name right now but she she where's your beard. Probably she's British. She wears her beard or on an end. She was one of the first these people ever found on instagram that just owned her own. PCs Spirit in the work that she does is incredible. She really helped me be like wow okay uh-huh yeah yeah it just it makes me almost WANNA like transitions like conversation like sexual fluidity and like what what we find you know sexually attractive and I can talk about that for a lot of studies. There's a lot of studies that are coming around with with lesbians actually and there's a high what they're finding is that a high percentage of lesbians need. I'M NOT GONNA throw it a number because I don't have of it drives my brain but a high percentage of lesbians have zero US and they're starting to wonder starting to see if there's a possible Korla in you know identify defies bisexual so I've dated women and men throughout my that I would have to grow. I I've Yeah I've I've dated women at midday most of my life and I I've often wondered if there was a link between P. C. O. S. in that as well I've never I can't can't say definitively if there is or not but they are see more and more and so I think that attributes to fluidity as loan and attributes the sexual I often wonder if it's because I have more male starts thrown or more no hormones than someone else and I've wondered if maybe put me you know the Kinsey scale the ad wondered if that's kind of why I am able wise been attracted to both sexes throughout my life so accenture thing and I mean I think it's it's interesting because even just want to talk about like Feminine and Masculine Energies Getting in touch with both of those and being able to be attracted to both feminine. I'm and masculine energies and like I don't know there's there's so much room for conversation on this but I have to kind of wrap up our conversation today but I'm just so appreciative of the fact that you're so open about all the different things in your life even the things that you know our president that you struggle with that are really vulnerable for you and really really impactful to your life that I think it does take a lot of courage to talk about these things in a way that is healing for you and very informative and empowering for other people so I'm really appreciative that you know you've done this kind of work and are committed to doing the work and to sharing that thank you and you and on on that note just if you ever want her Arpaio offline or wherever but Madeleine Moon if you do you follow her on instagram. I don't think I do see talks so much about the feminine and and the Masculine and I I could see you really enjoying just from what you were just saying could really enjoying having a conversation. She has a podcast as well actually and she in our friends from college well. It's funny enough Shia yes. She is really in the seminary masculine spaces she is. She's really created a whole business model around around teaching hiring. Women and men are around that work and she's incredible so if you ever want me to send it to you like I'll I'm happy to send it to you now the agriculture in go after this yeah she I mean I think even just in terms of like who were attracted to like being able to ah you know be intimate with women with men with whoever I think it's something we carry so much shame around and there are set societal standards around who is attractive and who is and what a man looks like and what a woman looks like and I think it's just depressing passing so much shit and US all the bullshit about like how if you are if you do identify with both sexes like you know I get a Lotta Shit for the women that I've been attracted to my life because they don't look you know like there because of the yeah I'm just GonNa leave it there yeah but definitely agreed that would be interesting by cast episode if he ever did something like that. I definitely would want to hear that because there's a lot of stupid. Zygmunt goes around whom you should be attracted to identify you know as experts yeah totally. Well Dang see that's why I love doing this because you never know where the conversation is going to go all talk about you know eating disorders then and P. C. O. S. and here we are talking about feminine and Masculine Being Bisexual. Also you never know totally yeah definitely metal. She's Uh she's incredible. Yeah please do well. Thank you so much for are taking the time the chat with me today and definitely would love to hear more about kind of how you've been able to navigate your relationships throughout recovery and really appreciate the fact that you are honest and share about all of that and I know we've shared that your instagram at Lindsey Hall writes and they have the blog I haven't shaved in six weeks. "Yeah like not triggered but like it's just a it doesn't paint like the joker in like some link think Heroi roic light or something like that like that people thought like I'm part of a the Aegean movies podcast this facebook group in one person posted you know got out of the joker about an hour ago still processing it generally affected by the movie is dark very revilement and treats everything seriously there are certain things that will generally shock and upset some people but all the important so to me because I recall that yeah I did. I screen shot in a sense you so a lot of people were all this stuff came out about how this is going to be like some influence on people about how while in cells are going to see and then you know that they're just gonNa go crazy or all this all this stuff. you know like you know like this is going to inspire like copycats like you know but it it. I took I took a little little bit of a offense to that not really being offended but like I don't agree with it at all the movie but yeah. I don't agree with that. Dumb Shit all the Times. They don't need a joker movie to say hey. I want to try that well. I don't agree with it either. But you know here we are where you've got. People who are clearly. They're going to be influenced by something are anything that they feel like. They'll just latch onto. You know but I you know I think a lot of people like they're going to make the joker seem sympathetic back you know because always treated like shit and he he gets pushed to this point and it's like. I don't necessarily think that's true like I think he's GonNa Forego that sympathy when he starts brutally murdering people or like you know like becoming the joker you know when he eh stops like you'll stop feeling sorry for him. You know when he embraces it. I mean I that's what I'm hoping to like exactly what you just said like when he becomes the joker. It's going to be not as sympathetic transition where you're like. Oh I feel sorry for him. It's going to be like jaw-dropping I in in the transformation and the I guess I don't WanNa carelessness but how he just empathy just I would hope stops and he just starts to enjoy what he's doing for the sake of doing it yeah you know there shouldn't be since they're making it so real and like everything grounded and everything it it might be hard for some people to separate that from the current you know some of the current aren't trends in society but fact of the matter is this comic book character has been carrying on like this for years and years and years. It's not it's well established that he is the way he is. You know it's not well established. Y He is the way he is but I think the fact that this movie's coming out now says a lot about where it's going to go with that. It's GonNa you know to to a certain extent just by the nature of being released at this time with this period of time. It's going to have to at least give a little bit of the credit for how he becomes. How he becomes to society you know right yeah the nature of it because if they would have released earlier say in the fucking seven these say joker movie comes out they probably would have figured out a way to work drugs into the fucking reasoning. You know so to speak but I don't know we'll see if it's going to be classic horror movie type of Shit or violent gory type of stuff but that's the thing like I think people are seeing this movie because this guy who's like mentally ill who gets pushed bring and then he just goes crazy and then like you know they're thinking with all this gun violence going on that people are going the be inspired to go shoot a bunch of people but the jokers been around for a long time. It sucks that people you know think that like the jokers that final influence on people to like go commit like a horrible act. I hope it's not but I don't think that this movie we will have that kind of effect on people. I think this movie will show like that. Reaction is not like the right way to go about things you know nor is it typical because you can't you can only glorify most criminals tools to if you're going to choose to identify with them you know as as a as a consumer sumer of entertainment and stuff and I'm I am one to to say I identify more more likely with villains than heroes but there's people that they can say they identify with like criminals criminals and like very very bad characters the joker I would think you can only identify with him up to a certain extent because he is like the peak of that he is the absolute peak of that. It's not like anybody in this world is going to attain that I mean there are serial killers yeah but they're not they sure as fucking running from the law aw you know or running from a Batman figure playing games with the that doesn't happen so you know what I mean. I get that people may want attribute certain behaviors to movies like this and they may be prep- preparing to do that and statistically speaking. It may happen that somebody decides to go do something over this movie but I. I don't think there's going to be the impetus for that. Well I think I think this is a movie. Also that like the hero won't show up to save people. That's right like this is a movie where bad things will happen because in the real world like bad things happen you know and I think it's it's almost like a social commentary possibly assembly of what's been going on. You know I know a lot of people I know. A lot of people are accusing like Todd Phillips of capitalizing on like what's going onic society in like making joker like this but I mean this is a very loose adaptation my opinion like the killing joke about his origin. You know oh I I think people are reading too much into it and people are making it up to be a big deal and I think that's what's causing all like this. USC Media Stir about you know law enforcement like preparing for like the movie released and it's just like Jesus. I didn't even hear that. Are you serious yeah. Why so serious that's funny. Take one joker quote to try and describe what the fuck is going on with the new joker movie. Why so serious right. It's it's like a you know like because he he's a male who gets who has mental illness. I think that's number one thing do does the mental illness yet he gets he gets rejected by a woman and then he goes crazy but I think I I think this movie is going to have an ending where it's not like so simple. I think it's like I as I hope it's one of those movies where like the jokers like telling this story and we can't really trust them. You know I hope so the two you know that reminds me of his shit. Let me let me grab it real quick because I'm going to read you the back of this book. GimMe two seconds spot this and it's a timing on it. Get back to the Mike here. The timing on it is really weird because the joker movies coming out but DC just just released a black label. Har- lean book by by one of my favorite artists than yours too. I can't pronounce his name. I guess it's let's let me try and pronounce it. STIP chick anyways. I got it it It says a brilliant young psychiatrist with the cure for the madness. It's of Gotham Dr Harley Quinn's L. takes drastic measures to save the city from itself witnessed the birth of the legendary Super Villain Harley Quinn and the stunning reimagining Harley and the joker twisted and tragic love affair by claim storyteller step on strategic. I can't really I can't really say his name right but the reason why I thought of the Harlequin book is because that might be kind of that's a good way that they could frame the joker movie if if they wanted to really tie it to the comics but which I don't think they are they could frame it like you say like him telling a story a really fucked up story to somebody in you know a mental institution are while he's always always in in in custody. You know what I mean yeah. I don't know if they will do it but I can't wait to read this book. The quotes on the back the road to hell is paved with good intentions on that road. I saw Pale man and he smiled at me. It's fucking book is going to be great dude. I cannot wait to read read it. No yeah absolutely like that. That book sounds like really good. I've heard it's really good to me too dude. It's a weird. It's a weird fucking oversize book. Though it's like a magazine size I think yeah it doesn't fit in the in the long boxes or anything it's too wide but anyways I thought I would bring that book into the into the fray a little bit because because actually mostly because we mentioned mental illness and how it has has ah been like the main thing people are talking about when they're talking about the joker move. I think that's why it has gotten so much attention because mental features mental illness and gun like a lot a gun violence on screen so how can people not. You know tie it to what's going on right now. Even if the Guy Todd Phillips made it even if he didn't try to do that. How could they not right well. Everybody we are at the hour mark. This has been an entire show of offerings basically you you got some mango horror and some fucked up body horror recommendations upfront and then we decided to go on a long journey through horror movies and I think yeah this is. This is as good as the episode can get no. I'm serious. This was like fucking out of nowhere. "You should just apply because it's free money figured down payment it's it's a pretty sweet deal literally giving you money like you have to pay it back look every state has slightly different terms but there are absolutely grants there there are grants will pay your entire down payment i think you need to be much more in the low income scale and obviously they're stipulations but okay it it's a pretty sweet deal get ovalles maybe we should do an entire episode on those then i'm sure there's lots of details we can get into but i was not aware of those so that would be pretty cool look into i'm guessing that is definitely going to be type of program with our income restrictions yeah but it's still worth looking into so perhaps the mortgage isn't under your name it's under anna's name and it gets still in the house yeah well i mean if if she gets grants for the down payment why not true yeah free money and they'll have to do is not on my house win win win all right well i think that probably covers it for this episode but i would definitely like to do an episode on downpayment assistance and for any of you guys out there listening to this who intend to buy a house some point in the near future you're wondering you know what all goes into process this is something that i am actively researching myself because i want to own a home in the next couple of years andrew owns four homes apparently baller over here so andrew knows a bunch of stuff i'm researching about stuff but we would love to hear your questions that helps us to develop better episode topics and you can always email us those questions at listen moneymatters at djamil dot com so let us know what's on your mind you can also send us silly catchphrases for the beginning of the episodes and if you want to improve your money knowledge is a couple of places you can go number one listen moneymatters dot com slash show where you could find the show notes for this episode and every other episode so if you are wondering where we got our numbers.
