"Assets Equals <Speech_Male> liabilities plus. <Speech_Male> A. Is. <Speech_Male> The most basic <Speech_Male> equation <SpeakerChange> in accounting. <Speech_Male> <Silence> <Speech_Male> Now <Speech_Male> let's take a look at <Speech_Male> income statements <Speech_Male> and go back <Speech_Male> to dealer. <Speech_Male> Income statements <Speech_Male> involve to other <Silence> parts of dealer. <Speech_Male> On the <Speech_Male> debit side, they <Speech_Male> deal with expenses <Speech_Male> on the <Speech_Male> credit side, they <Silence> deal with revenue. <Speech_Male> An income <Speech_Male> statements fundamentally <Speech_Male> show us the <Speech_Male> relationship between <Speech_Male> expenses <Silence> in revenue. <Speech_Male> SA-. Going <Speech_Male> to Disney's income <Silence> statement. <Speech_Male> They had total <Speech_Male> revenues in two <Speech_Male> thousand and nineteen <Speech_Male> of sixty <Speech_Male> nine and a half billion <Silence> dollars. <Speech_Male> Now, they had <Speech_Male> quite a few expenses. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> from that sixty nine and <Speech_Male> a half billion dollars, <Speech_Male> they keep <Speech_Male> subtracting their various <Speech_Male> expenses, <Speech_Male> things like <Speech_Male> the cost of services <Speech_Male> products <Speech_Male> were selling <Speech_Male> general and administrative <Silence> expenses. <Silence> <Speech_Male> And all <Speech_Male> of the revenue <Speech_Male> minus all these expenses <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> ends up coming out <Speech_Male> to about eleven <Silence> billion dollars. <Speech_Male> So this <Speech_Male> income statement shows <Speech_Male> us that in two thousand <Speech_Male> Nineteen <Speech_Male> Disney brought an <Speech_Male> eleven, <SpeakerChange> billion <Silence> dollars in income. <Silence> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Now, let's take a look at <Speech_Male> cash flow statements <Speech_Male> cash <Speech_Male> flow statements tell <Speech_Male> us as the reader <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> or as <Speech_Male> the shareholder <Speech_Male> hell money's coming <Speech_Male> in and how <Silence> it's being <SpeakerChange> distributed. <Silence> <Speech_Male> So let <Silence> supply that Disney. <Speech_Male> Here. <Speech_Male> They have it <SpeakerChange> broken down <Speech_Male> into several categories. <Silence> <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> They had four <Speech_Male> point, one billion <Speech_Male> dollars in cash from <Silence> two, thousand eighteen. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> And their net income <Speech_Male> from two thousand <Speech_Male> eighteen happened <Speech_Male> to be ten point <Speech_Male> nine, billion dollars. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> So, they got the <Speech_Male> two thousand, eighteen <Speech_Male> net income of ten <Speech_Male> point, nine, billion dollars <Speech_Male> in <Speech_Male> two, thousand and nineteen. <Speech_Male> They spend <Speech_Male> it on various things <Speech_Male> like film and television <Speech_Male> costs <Speech_Male> and <SpeakerChange> investing <Speech_Male> in the resort equipment. <Silence> <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> Going over to <Speech_Male> their financing, we <Speech_Male> see that they've been borrowed <Speech_Male> forty, two billion <Silence> dollars, <Speech_Male> but <Speech_Male> they paid back thirty <Speech_Male> eight, billion dollars <Silence> of previous Studt, <Speech_Male> and they also <Speech_Male> spent some money <Speech_Male> on things like <Silence> dividends. <Speech_Male> And <Speech_Male> so by the end <Speech_Male> of the two, thousand, nineteen <Speech_Male> fiscal year <Speech_Male> Disney <Speech_Male> ended up with five <Speech_Male> point, four, billion <Silence> dollars in cash. <Silence> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> Okay <Silence> let's recap. <Speech_Male> Are <Speech_Male> Three types of financial <Speech_Male> statements. <Speech_Male> Balance <Speech_Male> Sheets there <Speech_Male> income statements <Speech_Male> and the <Silence> cash flow statements. <Speech_Male> Balance <Speech_Male> Sheets always <Speech_Male> show you the assets <Speech_Male> liabilities <Speech_Male> in equities <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> in the total assets <Speech_Male> are always <Speech_Male> going to be equal <Speech_Male> to the sum of <Speech_Male> the liabilities <Silence> and equity. <Speech_Male> In income <Speech_Male> statements <Speech_Male> showing you the company's <Speech_Male> revenue <Speech_Male> minus the. Expenses. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> This tells the <Speech_Male> reader how much <Speech_Male> net income may company <Silence> house. <Speech_Male> And cash <Speech_Male> flow statements <Speech_Male> finally <Speech_Male> indicate how much <Speech_Male> cash a company <Speech_Male> brings in each <Speech_Male> year, and <Speech_Male> then how they allocate <Speech_Male> words spend that <Silence> cash. <Speech_Male> Now <Speech_Male> initially when you go <Speech_Male> to look at these statements <Speech_Male> and reports, <Speech_Male> you may find <Speech_Male> it to be quite confusing. <Speech_Male> But <Speech_Male> over time you <Speech_Male> start to see patterns <Speech_Male> and then you get <Speech_Male> used to it. <Speech_Male> So if you decide <Speech_Male> to go look at a company's <Speech_Male> annual report <Speech_Male> and are our little confused <Speech_Male> at I, <Speech_Male> don't worry <Speech_Male> it's bound <Speech_Male> to be confusing initially. <Speech_Male> But <Speech_Male> over time you'll learn <Speech_Music_Male> and <SpeakerChange> you'll start <Speech_Music_Male> to get better at it. <Music> <Music> <Music> <Music> <Music> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> I. Hope You enjoyed <Speech_Male> that episode <Speech_Male> and were able to <Speech_Male> learn something from it. <Speech_Male> If you're looking <Speech_Male> for recommendations <Speech_Male> for good investing <Speech_Male> and business books <Speech_Male> I, encourage <Speech_Male> you to check out the project <Speech_Male> business basics <Speech_Male> block <Speech_Male> in also sign <Speech_Male> up for the project business <Silence>

"I'm thrilled to have David Linde, the CEO of participant in studio today. Do you think the average consumer is going to subscribe to Netflix and Lulu and Disney and HBO and Peacock? Go down an apple and quit be and all of a sudden you're back to a bundle, and you're gonna have the potential of 10 subscription services. I think the average consumer can't afford 10 subscription services, so I think it's going to become some binary choice. But what do you think? What's very excited about Streaming services in particular is that for a producer of motion pictures, ultimately, 25 or 30 million people are saying that you could now hit that on one streaming service in one in one day in one day, obviously sharing data is going to become increasingly, that's another part of it is, how are.

Bytes and Pieces: Americas Chinese-Tech Attack

"As the heads of Amazon Alphabet facebook and apple were being berated in Congress, last month how many competitors did facebook ended up copying we called it Amazon heroin. Why does bny steel content from honest businesses tiktok the goofy funny video sharing app was having an altogether better time of it. Golden. Do. Not, so much anymore we're looking at Tiktok we may be banning TIKTOK. Thursday the trump. Issued a deadline of September twentieth for ending all American transactions bite dense to talks parent company as well as with. China's second most valuable, Tech Company ten cent with Para companies based in China apps like Tiktok we chat and others are significant threats to personal data of American citizens not to mention tools for CCP content censorship. China's government called the executive orders a nakedly hegemonic? act. By dense is looking for a fire sale buyer for some of its international Tiktok operations and it seems Microsoft is checking pockets. But the administration's zeal is likely to harm America's interests as well as the Chinese tech champions. We knew a band was in the offing at is still everyone by surprise Thompson booth is the economists technology and business editor I. Think most people were expecting president trump to wait until a a TIKTOK deal had gone through to reach a resolution on whether there would be a ban on not and it's also quite surprised that he's gone after we chat and tencent. And the reaction from the two companies has been quite strong. Bite dance has said that it's GonNa fight the executive orders in court. Well, as you say, there had been some expectations around Tiktok by dense. Why? Why was ten cents included in the end? Well there isn't a certain unfortunate logic to this. If you're going to say that you're concerned about Tiktok on national security and espionage grounds, you sort of have to be consistent and we chat has about nine hundred, million daily users in the US and the executive order basically bans people from making transactions on we chat which it's a sort of super APP. That is really widely used in in China and Chinese diaspora what is the trump administration's rationale for these orders? Do you think so the stated reason from the administration is the Chinese government is spying on Americans and hear the evidence is Circumstantial. So the worry is that Chinese spy agencies have stolen massive consumer data sets from various companies over the past ten years. So from Mariot Equifax anthem health insurance TIKTOK has been downloaded two billion times. It's the mother of data sets. There is no hard evidence that bite dance would ever cooperate in such an endeavor but the idea is that if you've got engineers with access to Tiktok by Don, service than the government could lean on them to get the information out. So that's the stated reason from the trump administration. Think that's enough for the American government to threaten to ban the APP. I gather from investors case to buy dance at the real reason is a level playing field issue as much as the spying concern. So one gathered that in particular. Mark, Zuckerberg of facebook has been outlining pointing out to trump that take talk is wildly successful in the US and yet facebook google than allowed into China. It's sort of the idea of why should tech top able to come to compete with us when we can't do so in the other direction? And as things stand now, Microsoft is the evidence suitor for for Tiktok operations at least in a in a few countries what's in it for them? I think for Microsoft is really stunning opportunity on their part. So bite dance reckons that the TIKTOK US asset is worth in the realm of two hundred billion dollars oversee the pudding, very generous estimate on that. So the price being talked about now that Microsoft might pay and that it's on the block for more life fifteen, forty billion. So it's just a real steel in terms of the price. I'm talking to the hottest social media property out there right now it's uses incredibly highly engaged and Microsoft you out of stroke gets into territory of the social, the digital media giants, and it gets a massive data set on teenagers daters the new oil. Attack, there is lots of sketches in the Microsoft just is kind of getting out of its core competence that it won't really know how to get and keep the teenagers. The other risk for Microsoft is just kind getting dragged into the Mile Strom of content moderation and hate speech and all this kind of stuff that attracts more political scrutiny and then regulatory scrutiny having said that Microsoft is regarded as a really high quality acquirer of businesses it generally tends to do it quite well. Microsoft. CEO Sachin Adela notably is currently probably regarded as the best big taxi. Oh so now we've got this deadline of September twentieth what happens between now and then Firstly, Microsoft going to carry on negotiating to try and buy Tiktok we're seeing more suitors for Tiktok on the scene over the weekend the reports that twitter is definitely interested I know that Netflix's on the coolest the venture capital backers of Bite Don's possibly even Disney I do think the likeliest thing is still the Microsoft probably strikes a deal just because it's got the deepest pockets will also be really interesting to see whether Microsoft manages to get more markets at. The moment, it's only going for the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. It's not buying the UK having the actual executive order from trump will create more uncertainty around Tiktok and there's no doubt that it is already harming the asset. It's no joke said, the clock really is taking on that deal and what about ten cents? It's unclear. What ten cents is going to do it's unlikely to try and sell international we chat as by dance is doing with Tiktok. It's possible that it could come up with some kind of structure to address. US concerns. It's a complete unknown how tencent now is going to react but I guess the question is, is the right way for America to get its concerns addressed with a problem with. It so far as that feels completely sort of ad hoc on his whim. Really undermines investor confidence in the US is the place of the rule of law. And there are alternatives and I think there's three main steps that we would advocate versus to strengthen the vetting procedure that's already in place. So the Committee on foreign investment in the US surface that probes should stop properly and quickly. So in the case of Tiktok and musically the US APP that bike dance bought therefore triggering this whole situation, they took two years to start looking at it and then did it in a rush which guarantees Robert chaotic ad, hoc situation. And overwhelmingly, the US needs to tighten up its own data privacy regime. So the reason that tiktok is such. A worry in terms of spying theoretically is that US firms, your facebook's Google's and so on her normalized that the slurping just masses of personal data from Americans. So what's required is a strong federal data privacy law. The third element is displayed to you can do in. Terms of requiring transparency into the Algorithms being used auditing code that's coming in from overseas for now, the question for those two billion or so people who've downloaded tiktok whether their favourite platforms going to survive or whether the current chaotic procedure that has affected, the company will mean it. It's rivals take it over and teens leave. Thanks very much for your time Tamsin it's been a pleasure.

How to find yor life's purpose

"What we learn about life from fairy tales by Jeff Goings of goings writer dot com. At the beginning of every great story before anything exciting happens we see something that looks a lot like normal life long before the protagonists Lazy Dragon or the heroine embarks on a quest we see her in some unsuspecting place dreaming of something more in beauty and the beasts my personal favorite Disney. Classic Bell Sings of wanting more than this provincial life in Star Wars. Luke can't wait to escape the boredom of a farmer's life and in the wizard of Oz dorothy sings about life somewhere over the rainbow. Is Easy to dismiss such people when we meet them in everyday life as dreamers or even downright crazy but are they really. Pleased get up early on Saturday mornings write essays that I would then save on my computer and share with no one a dreamed of publishing my stories somewhere. But for years, they never left the comfort of my living room. I'm not alone in this. This dreaming of another life does a preoccupation of Bailey and it's a wonderful life and the fixation of Walter Mitty is the reason we sometimes daydream or stay up late watching movies. Our lives are haunted by the ghosts of one might have been. Here's the good news though this is where story always starts with an unrealized dream hope deferred a life lived before chain of events sets the hero on a course to his destiny. Sense that there should be more to life than this. But hopefully that's not where the story ends. An important moment everything begins to make sense. There's a with storytellers call the inciting incident. The moment when the characters perspective changes the tale of an average person living in average life becomes one of mythic proportions but something has to happen for any of this to take place the character must choose to enter the story. Bell goes to find her father. Luke leaves home with OBI Wan. Dorothy, get swept up in a tornado in any great narrative. There's a moment where character decides to be more than a bystander that's really want a story begins with the decision to act. This choice though is often preceded by a link of discontent, which is why when people are called to some great task, they know it they recognize the prompting to do something significant something bigger than themselves and then respond. Why because they've been waiting for it their whole lives. Frustration prepares you for your purpose. My friend Ben Armed says every dream begins with frustration. Think that's true. But that frustration must be funneled into awareness that leads to action. Otherwise, it becomes bitterness. You must be willing to do something to step out into the unknown and see what happens. Until you make this choice, you'll continue feeling frustrated seeing other people succeed chalking it up to lock or some unfair advantage. You'll be jealous and critical wonder why not me and in doing this, he will deceiver self. Because, the truth is some do yet lucky and others have been born into privilege. But what are those things to you? You are still called chances come to us all but only those who are ready recognize them. So before you know what you're calling is your believe your call to something even if you don't know what it is yet that nagging said everything is not as it should be that you were meant for more than the status quo is important clue and what you do with that is essential to how your story unfolds with this means is you don't need some big plan. You just need to be a little dissatisfied with the way. Things are to possess a premonition that something is amiss and you may hold the keys fixing it.

A New Documentary Shines A Spotlight On The Lyricist Behind The Disney Renaissance

"Behind in beauty and the Beast Law Mermaid Aladdin was was basically one of the kind of. People who helped raise Disney into Disney renaissance, Disney, animation that we see in the nineties and he tragically died early from AIDS and This, movie directed by Don. Hahn goes into his life and his contributions to let that Disney legacy and It's it is direct is made in a way that is feels very much like an in Memoriam type of tribute to him because most of the film is apart from some archival footage of. The making of the songs behind the Beast and Lamar Mermaid is just photos of Howard Ashman and interviews with families and friends and colleagues But the interviews are all done in voiceover and none of the talking heads are seen a good way of making it all about Howard Ashman in all about just like his life in his experiences but in a sense, it kind of made it feel a little bit impersonal just because you're your invoices for a good. but it it works to make it. Solely, about him about about appreciating his life and I It's a really beautiful moving documentary. That is like it's made out of love because it's made by people who uh, sincerely cared about him and more than just like his contract to Disney and I but I did really enjoy the coverage that you see of him working with the orchestra and with the singers in the beast at which it movie opens with it shows them doing be our guest with Angela Lansbury and. Other singers and it's some it's really some. So it's just a really cool behind the scene sneak peek at it just like. To see him at work as well as just to see how it all came together in that kind of energy that before they knew it was gonna be a really big thing but everyone knows it's going to be something special kind of that kind of energy and I. I really like seeing that and it's a great documentary and it's streaming on Disney plus starting tomorrow August seventh. I was a big Fan of Don Hans previous

Disney lost nearly $5 billion last quarter, but stock prices surged

"Disney is really an interesting story right now, it is massively exposed to the pandemic. They have just recently announced their results. They lost a staggering amount of money and yet they have some good news about their streaming service and it's like the market just. Has Undying confidence because of the power of Disney's intellectual property well, and the fact that they have pivoted to streaming in a major way I mean only in twenty twenty can you lose four point seven billion dollars in a quarter and have your stock go up because you also announced that you're streaming business hit sixty million subscribers for Disney plus one hundred, million subscribers include Hulu. and. ESPN plus I mean this is the craziness of meteorite. Now in that the the The Walt, Disney Company was more exposed than anybody else to this pandemic because the parks were shut down for most of the second quarter these parks were not operating not generating revenue and they're movie business was essentially shut down because for most of the quarter they were not allowed to release. Movies in theaters yet because the future of the business is in streaming and people on Wall Street and elsewhere are looking to growth in those categories to see if Disney will ever be able to compete with Netflix on that front it's actually a mixed bag for the quarter because streaming is great. Yes Jiming great I mean they don't charge that much for it's seven dollars a month. They have certainly tried to figure out how to keep it stocked. Challenge that Disney has really faced. They came out with the man delorean and then there was just incredibly long pause when you're talking about anything for a person over the age of whatever. Some people are love all of it for life, but primarily, their stuff had been appealing to kids. netflix's firing out new stuff. To the point where you can't possibly keep track of it. Disney was really kind of a bit stalled out. It seemed they had Hamilton and. They got a lot of noise with Hamilton putting the film online, and now they're doing a really big experiment that could affect the future of this industry, which is to put Moulin a two, hundred, million dollar plus film on demand not at the twenty dollar price point that you know universal charge for the trolls released but at thirty dollars. ESSENTIALLY THIRTY DOLLARS And they're saying it's a one off but they're also saying we're GONNA learn from this. This is a one off until it isn't and the interesting thing is that they're not just charging thirty dollars for it, but they're only making it available for Disney plus subscribers. So if you're not one of those sixty million subscribers who already get Disney plus you're GONNA have to sign up for the service and then pay thirty dollars to get Milan it's an interesting strategy. Mean they doing that because if they put it on regular premium video on demand, they would have to share a lot of that price with the platforms that help them That sale up here there's some rumors that they may be sharing a little bit of the price with the theaters that were promised movie that hasn't been confirmed but if they're willing to put it behind essentially a paywall and a paywall, we're really going to see what the demand is for this kind of high-quality a-list Disney content in a streaming

Marlene Forte On Marvel's Runaways

"A longtime guest on my show has been Marlene Forte. Ge had a role in runaways as a pistol packed in Mama. I loved the Gun I understand. And I was like I would let you know I enjoyed the training that I had to do to do that team and and I think that that's the important thing to understand that you have to respect something like that like almost like you do a car says, you can kill someone with a car and you can kill someone with a gun. So I, think that was. That was my little political fan. They're sorry but I did love. Loved the the the idea of it was the whole fashion year I had to click it and it was Darab double barrel and Oh. It was fun when I was on Dallas The crew is a lot of locals into Dallas's you know they love their guns and during I again now. And, one of the one of the crew member kept wanting to give me to arrange and you know now that I've had this straining on runaways I I just want it was it was a lot of fun and at this age you know the guns I don't know I'm GONNA BE WHEELING GRANDMA guns I don't know how many. Guns. So I really am grateful for the runaways. I squealed when I read that scene I thought it was delicious. I was like, oh? My God. This is to be so much fun. Yeah that was a cool scene I definitely liked that seeing not. Young boys in the. It was so much. Alike. They're all pros. And we're all well, and now because of that, it's on a Disney plus a new channel you can see all the episodes there. Yeah When they call when I when I was going to die, but I had a good death. Yes. But you died well, let's say it's important. Do well. Runaways on Disney plus there you can see more lean in her role

A New Documentary Shines A Spotlight On The Lyricist Behind The Disney Renaissance

"Wrote the words too some of the classic Disney songs he was the lyricist behind three classic Disney song books, as well as Little Shop of Horrors. But his career was cut short when he died of AIDS in 1991. Composer Alan Menken had worked closely with Ashman and now a new documentary film has given him one last chance to collaborate with his late friend Tim. Grieving has the story. Alan Menken wrote this song at Howard Ashman Hospital Bed while his friend was dying. His life was pitifully cut short. But As an artist. He's really vital Even now. They met in New York in the 19 seventies, where Ashman was running a black box theater. They yelled like Rodgers and Hammerstein and wrote the musical's Kurt Vonnegut's God Bless you, Mr Rosewater, and the unlikely hit little Shop of horrors. Pretty soon Ashman was courted by Jeffrey Katzenberg to come to Disney and help in animation department That was on the skids. I have a letter that I found in the Library of Congress. And it's a letter from Jeffrey Katzenberg. Don Hahn, a producer on beauty and the Beast directed the new documentary, Howard, says Howard. Thanks for talking the other day. There's so many things we want you to work on. We'd love you to work on a Arabian Nights story. We'd love you to work a little murder, and Jeffrey ends up, saying the collaboration of Of Howard Ashman and and bolt. Disney is, you know just a hit, waiting to happen. It sure Wass, Ashman and Mink and brought a vibrant Broadway sensibility to Disney animation, and it led to a lucrative renaissance. The beast. Ashman died before he finished Aladdin and even before beauty and the Beast premiered, he was only 40. The documentary tracks his rise from a theater obsessed kid in Baltimore to his musical highs to his untimely death, told through archival footage of recording sessions, song demos, new interviews with family and friends and Ashman, explaining his own philosophies. You get to a certain point where the crab has to convince the mermaid not to go up above the water and change your life, So he has to sing under the sea, and she has same part of your world because she wants to go up to dry land so badly. Over the years, Alan Menken has worked unused songs from the Disney animated musicals into their Broadway adaptations. So in a way, he's never stopped working with Howard Ashman. I wrote a song for Howard past Mile friend Donna When Tim Rice and I began work on the Broadway adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, I said, I'm going to take a piece of music and is this home? This is where I should learn to be happy. So that became part of the fabric of beauty and the beast of hell in this Mink and shared his memories for the documentary. When Don Hahn sent in the rough cut, he told the director, he had to write the score. Oh, my God! Was it a labor of love? I feel deeply connected to Howard. And I just felt that I wanted music that if he was directing and he would have wanted to put in there Composer says This was really like his final collaboration with Howard almost 30 years after he died, a new work with words by Ashman and tunes by Minkin. For NPR news. I'm Tim grieving.

"Which is really sad. It's Kinda sad that it's first time in sixty five years at there has not been. Excited guests looking looking for the magic of Disney on on the day. The park open yeah. Well and. To me, you look at it and and it's like. You know you gotta think. Disneyland is a more local park. People that travel there, but majority of the people that go to Disneyland. are locals, so you would like for me like originally when all this went down. I was thinking Disneyland's going to open I. Because it's smaller, it's easier to contain. It's more localized you know, and now you've got world potentially opening before land. And you know part of that is that there's currently a big spike in California but it's. It's interesting, you know. I really did think that California. was going to be the one to open I because they had it under control. For the most part of it for a while there and and that it's more local. But the good news is that downtown Disney, the downtown Disney district at the Disneyland resort will be opening as planned. On July ninth because it is retail and restaurant, establishments so as as of our recording of this on June twenty fifth the current plan is for the downtown. Disney district reopened on July ninth. Of course they will have all of their health and safety protocols in place to make sure that it's safe, not only for guests, but of course also for cast members. E- it's. kind of like kind of like the opening of Disney, springs before The Walt. Disney world resort itself opened at least the theme parks. The hotels are hotels. Are Some of the hotels are now open? IS WORLD SO A. Little bit longer wait. To head back to head back to Disneyland, but At least you can get a little magic by going to downtown Disney. There there's there's there's always that I love. I love how. Very kind of NEAT and tidy and compact their down town. Disney district is so. Compared to compared to Disney springs that's like super huge sprawling which is a completely different experience. All of itself but the downtown. Disney district at Disneyland is nice, because it's more of a of a pass through and kind of casual area. Versus a destination like Disney Springs. The yeah. So. There, we go, okay, all right I've got more depressing news..

"Isn't well. Nope not yet SCIFIS. No good though. You're getting better choice. Yeah What else have we eaten in? I O Liberty. Truly I. I don't know any of his. He's he says I'm sorry. Have we eaten at high? No that's not the one. I'm getting run all them down. Hang on so the in the six one chip one of the things you are paying for is for a stitch to say hi. Yeah does he say this is the movie. I would assume to watch it this week. We'll do our due-diligence. We'll do our homework. Okay this week for the first time. Ever Patrick and I watched the princess and the frog I have seen I have seen bits and pieces of it and really upsetting for my daughter's. Who's that is their favorite. Disney cartoon how it was favorite Disney princess their favorite. I'm surprised because she's not in the movie that much. Not as a human no but it was one of those fringe films. Yes sorry if you don't come on the prison the frog I guess the First Time. I knew that she got turned into a frog. Stop talking I think. The people that listen to podcasts of seen the movie boil boy. Oh Boy oh boy. It was one of those fringe films. You know how you kind of grew out of Disney for a while. Then got back to it when you were twenty nine and went to. Disneyworld time specific but all right me so I didn't see that one but I also didn't see stitch either so let me continue with what he's done more than just high and with your knowing what you happen to you the more you talk like in the better you get. Let's hope you'll be? My friend are good. You be my friend okay. Good I kit unflattering cute and Fluffy Krista me got a famous Idaho Maku. Psalms got a meager Nala. Try to guess. "Get a health. Qr Code which she will then have to show to people throughout the park to make sure that you you were checked and you had your temperature taken. I know it's it just sounds like a lot of hangup. There's GonNa be a lot of waiting. There's another podcast that I like to listen to Adams this. It's called the Disney they're awesome. They're amazing them so I'm stealing this from them as I want to. Give them credit for this information and I highly recommend you. Listen to the. They think they know the most. They are any podcast. I listened to on Disney. They talked about like the they were asked the question. Should we make reservations? When should we go back to the park? The park opens in October. Should be going October and the answer was well. How much of a Disney experience do you want? Do you want the full Disney experience? Because you're not going to get it knocked Tober so don't even try exactly. We should wait. Wait until twenty twenty one or summer twenty twenty one if you want the full Disney experience because he just not going to happen right now. I know it's it's so sad to think about that. Not only is it closed when it does reopened. It's just not going to be the same for awhile. It's a very sad to me so getting back to Shanghai. They're going to have special cues and stickers on the ground making sure that you're away from people for six feet. The attractions will have several empty. Rows or seats. Smaller rides will hand out gloves to wear and there will be hand sanitizers at every exit as you can imagine. Close up character. Interactions and photo ops will be unavailable. But you can still see the characters from a distance. Dining we'll have tables with red signs on them which means do not eat. They're trying to space out the tables and then merchandise. They're going to have signs that say only touch you intend to buy and please. Use TOUCH LOUIS transactions. There's all that now if you think we go over to Disneyland. There's some news there. They have now pushed back reservations to July. So you cannot make reservations at Disneyland until July first and there is still no dining which brings us to another point win. Do you think each park will reopen? And there's a lot of perks to consider not much to talk about with Disneyworld because they just entered phase one on May force. So it's hard to say there's just no knowing right now. Does that mean they're phase one? We're we're in Pennsylvania and we're currently in what we call yellow face we have different ours is colored. There's is numbered and basically. We're very confused as well on what this means for us for us. It's it's the first it's we go from yellow to green green is normal Are Yellow is that we can meet in groups of twenty five or less and the reason why we are in yellow where we live is because we only have well we have a one hundred total cases but active is like sixteen in most of those from what I understand is one family. So we don't have a lot of active cases which means we're allowed to go to the yellow stage but when you say that disneyworld phase one was may fourth that makes it sound like Disney disneyworld Florida Florida's was phased. Because it makes it sound like Disney was not disease. That's confusing. I meant that Florida went into parts of Florida certain counties went into phase one on May fourth but it. There's no knowing still yet win. Disney will open disneyworld. Disneyland is not taking reservations until July. First and that's probably GONNA be pushed back even further once it gets closer but they still have construction happening but I I read that we should be expecting them to open in phases. Three or four. So they're in phase one right now Florida than they're not close to opening. Hong Kong is interesting because they did trial `ding they had a period of four days April thirtieth through third where they had a buffet with Mickey and friends at the Disneyland Hotel and it was a buffet so found that interesting that they would still do face. I think buffets those places are dangerous zones when there's no corona virus let alone a deadly disease and then somebody on the page inside the magic. They were looking up to see when you could start making hotel reservations at Hong Kong Disneyland. Apparently you can start may eight. They found three different sections of time where they found availability at their three hotels. So they're they're possibly to be available to be booked then now. Patrick mentioned earlier. That Disney springs is set to reopen. Now on May twentieth so that's only about a week or so from now and please people if you are going on. May Twentieth. And you see kate walking around. Please stop her. She's got to walk off all those sprinkle cupcakes. He's even I gotta get my steps in absolutely. I've just had too many fritters at homecoming. I've probably had to money spring rolls. Please please don't Moto. And my way for another drink at the polite pig but there they are going to open the twentieth limited number of shopping and dining experiences as you can imagine there will be limitations on capacity parking and hours and they are advocating for you to use open table for reservations. Not My Disney experience. My brain does not allow me to try like to try to figure out. How long have those places been closed? Four weeks five weeks we went. We went down. Thirteen was date this when we closed down yet. So there's a lot of food that's been in those restaurants that have been thrown out donated. It sure sure but not us. And then you're going to open on this date and you've got to restock everything. Oh I just my brain hurts to think about everything that has to be. You're talking about starbucks. 'cause that most of their food is frozen and they super microwave and and make it so in that case they can keep it but I'm sure there's restrictions on how long you can keep the frozen her. Oh my brain hurts the thing about what everything that has to be done. Yeah and it's interesting to say that to see that. They've said US Open table for reservations. Because there's been this long standing battle between the restaurants of Disney Springs and the Disney credit system. When you're on the dining plan sometimes when you get there. They have a hard time scanning the bands or accepting the credit. Some some don't accept Disney dining cards so there are just going right back to open table for this to make sure that everything is going to be through that instead of my Disney experience should so far. The the restaurant I've heard and it's very smallest that are going to be open our wine Bar George T K haagen-dazs wrote is working on a reopening they will not open may twenty-eighth they're working on it. That's just that's four places out of the dozens of restaurants that they have there in kiosks and and the movie theaters not open and again. It's one of those situations where you've got people that want to return to normal so bad that as soon as anything opens in these places anything normal is going to be packed and like I said to you way back when this was just starting. I said Yeah I know it's going to suck to be inside but just think about the outpouring of people once we're allowed to go back out because they're going to be so excited to go back out and even more apt to spend money because they want to support the businesses. If they'd been working right exactly you've got money to spend so. Disney is working hard. I. I've been getting several. E mails from Disney. About what they're up to. What what they're doing How they're going to be keeping workers safe Just like with the other resorts they're going to have limited availability modified experiences and they have now cancelled trips into June. And think about this thing about the the pledge that Disney's making the the the the people that are there safe the customers but they also all that safety to their cast members as well and so that they do has to be done doubly because they have to protect the cast as well as the public. I can't even imagine I mean we. We love to Disney meltdowns but and sometimes those are also in the same category of park goers being unnecessarily mean to park employees. Oh yeah you know and I can't I don't even want to think about how that gets ratcheted up a notch. When you have to deal with masks and temperature take being taken. We see already across the United States that people. That don't WanNa wear masks are fighting. There's a shooting at a dollar street right. Yeah so I mean that's doubly and Disney. We're her breaks for the Casper thing isn't necessarily not my worry for myself like with. I wear a mask or not. It's IT's other people to be. It's older people especially because my parents are older. And I I think about like you know we've had this ban lifted we can go hang out with some friends but but my parents my my mom actually said to me like you know if you go hang out with a lot of people. I'm not gonNA come see you for a little bit and that that's scary to me because I don't want to get her sick. I don't want to take a chance that I've been around and maybe I'm healthy. But maybe I pass it on carrier in the mask and we ordered masks from Disney. They're coming in the middle of June. So speaking of buying things. Let's talk about some merchandise so this is a fun. Fun Co which is the maker of the little tiny figurines that Disney has and that I collect. They're making a haunted mansion board game which is going to be coming out in July. It's called call of the spirits. It works for two six players. Will have player Tokens and several decks of cards. It will feature iconic areas of the ride with a thirty minute game play and the game board will shift and change very very a little jumanji. Yes and I hope that if I get sucked into that game. Take me right to hope for that. I have no price on this yet. I would assume it looked like if I had to take a guess. What the box. I would assume thirty dollars. Maybe I don't buy a board games that often. I play video games way more often. If you are a marvel fan the popular bag company lounge fly is going to be releasing several marvel bags. They have a marvel. Logo mini backpack for seventy five dollars. A Margot Margo Margot. Margo Logo Marvel Logo Waist sling pack for fifty dollars and a marvel logo. That is tough to say by. Fold Wallet for Thirty Dollars. These logo D-. Yeah but if you are like build a bear don't okay there that gets. You can now make stitch at build a bear which. I know that you're super excited. Oh and if you want to buy stitch you will have to buy clothes because you can't leave stitch naked. That's not right. You're so right in fact if you WANNA purchase stitch.

Our dining was one hundred days before our so. We made our dining reservations early in a month. Still hoping that we're going to go. I think he will be opened by October. Difference asks we'll have to see. We are a party eleven so that made things kind of difficult a lot of times. I had to break up into two groups of like five and six or whatever In order to get our reservations so that was a little stressful. But we got we're staying at the Polynesian. If you remember. We Got Kona Cafe. The night we arrived for dinner for all of us which should be exciting. I things we're going to breakfast another time. This is for dinner. Bs would definitely want to get some Tacos and then unlock in the magic. We agree podcast team Tonga in town. Team talk since I haven't tried toast. Also I do talk a lot so hey all right also So we got reservations at Cinderella's royal table which we had to divide into two because they don't have tables for eleven but we got to reservations for breakfast there and imagine they were excited about that. That'd be really cool. We got our reservations to eat at CENA. We did that last time. Yup which we really liked it. And that's You guys aunt birthday. "It go from frozen L. Let it go right in the Big Blue World from the seas with Nemo and friends which I don't think is in the movie but is in the right right. There's any songs and Nemo later you're right. You're right Mickey's Boo Parade Song. That's a good one. I liked that one The three Cobb Eros which is from guess which is from the movie and they just used it in the ride the grand tour which we love There's also just one. I'm going to go on tour in the restaurant right. Yeah that's very cool but I love that song honorable mention. I'd I've I've never experienced this one. In Person. By heard the music and it makes me laugh. Veggie veggie fruit fruit which is an old epcot song. Shown in kitchen and cabaret in the land pavilion. Kind of where story is now in a closed in January nineteen ninety-four and they actually use this epcot forever. There's a little one or two lines from the song in their veggie fruit fruit and then last but not least on my list and things I think we should mention is the main street electrical parade music. Which is actually was not written for the Main Street Electrical Parade? What it's a song you can actually hear it in a few other places but it was composed by John McCain. And I don't know if I said the right impose Kingsley for their electronic sint prop album kaleidoscope vibration spotlight on the Mook. It's called the actual song is called. Baroque hoedown was discovered by the mainstream show creators. An option for use in the brain. This piece was created through the use of a mobile synthesizer which gave it the characteristic electronic harpsichord sound in order to coincide with the parades floats. Barracuda was melded together with Classic Disney songs. Just when you wish upon a star so this is love. I've got no strings and several others to make it work but I I love seeing on me that I want to say one factor about that season putting Okeyo and avengers. Each trump is true. It's it's more tribune. All chancing definitely has his face melted so we love the main street electrical parade so I had include this on A. We went on twitter. And we asked some you guys with your favorite Disney attraction songs are so we'll re through some of those so again if you don't follow US online we're on twitter us on twitter at Disney underscore. Discuss you post questions all the time you know when news articles come post them so be sure to follow us and we want you to be part of the discussion. So it's cool that you guys are interacting with us so Jocelyn said happily ever after which is a great fantastic pick. I think she says it's literally my most favorite thing in the entire world and you can count on me being Just like Danilo from the Dillard's dis about wishes. When it goes away so Jocelyn does not want that song to ever go away Jeff Taylor at Disney Flyer says soaring the original version. The new one is okay but feels forced. I don't feel forced but I agree. The original version is definitely definitely much better. Marshall Mc at MC Marshall Forty three one of our followers it has followed us the longest and always interacts with us says fantasma which is a great pick and I honestly forgot about God about it and he's one of my favorite. Actually I don't know why think of it but sometimes it just plays like I just hear my head. Twenty four seven twenty four seven music. They actually use it on the distant crews. If you go to the animators Palette Yeah. This should have been on my list. I love this song here. In my head dented fro fantasma our friends at Disney. Dna podcast Trenton. Jenny said there's a great big beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day. That is my personal favorite. I love that Rick Forbes at Magic in the hill says Splash Mountain Melody which I agree at Sabra twenty two says happily ever after followed by the Lion King Show Animal Kingdom. That's another good one. The Lion King. Show yes.

"Was a great episode. Check that out all right. Tiki room very good song. Next up stitch. What's number two on your to Item List for Best Disney? Hi Ho. It's off to work. We do to dilute the two. I hope yes it is yours mine train. Let's hear some fun facts about. This song was written by Frank. Churchill and Larry Maury not the Sherman brothers and it was made for the movie snow way that came out in nineteen thirty four. I I it's fun. Oh seven doors mine train. You mentioned on top of the podcast. That's when your favorite dark rides favorite dark ride and my favorite right and they fit that song in perfectly. Well I mean top of the PODCASTS. Do you mean beginning. Yeah that's what they call it. The top of the PODCAST. I so I think I mentioned they actually so much in the first episode. We did to. You probably did around the first episode. Absolutely absolutely all right. Let's talk about illumination This is the epcot show that just ended last year created and directed by John. Dorsey the music for this. A lot of people love their music for this. I agree it's one of the great musical pieces of bunch of music in it but it's a really good The way the combined fireworks the show elements in the torches in epcot lasted over twenty. Almost twenty years that shows that should just shows how much people loved it. It was created and directed by John. Dorsey the show premiered on October. First Nineteen Ninety nine as illuminations two thousand reflections of earth as part of The Walt Disney World Millennium Celebration. It was so successful that after the celebration ended in two thousand they dropped the name. They dropped two thousand from the name and just kept going. Garin greenway is the composer for eliminations fractions on earth. So let's hear from Mario from the station. Seventy one podcast about why he loves. Illuminations Hello Disney discussion crew. It's Mario from the station seventy-one podcast. Tony asked me to help you guys out this week by talking a little bit about one of my favorite pieces of music from the Disney parks and IT I. This was a really hard decision but I really had to think about this one. Because there's so many good pieces of music out there in the parks and I was instantly drawn to things like one little spark or it's a small world where there's ear worms they get ingrained in your brain and you can't get them out no matter how many times you ride the attraction or try to do something else. But when I think about Disney parks I think nostalgia. I think memories. I think all of those trips that I took with my family when I was growing up. And all of the memories making in the future by going back and no piece of really kind of signifies that or brings me back to that place like the soundtrack to illuminations. Maybe I'm getting a little bit misty eyed because by the time that this episode comes out it's going to be gone and I'm a little upset about that but for me. I think that this is one of those perfect pieces of music. That's tied in with a spectacular nighttime entertainment show and it's something that I know. When I was younger we would always watch the end of our days. Epcot and for me. I think th that just brings me back to those that place it you back to those trips and all of those times that I took with my family and that's what Disney means to me. I also think that it's very symbolic of the future for Epcot and where the park is headed. The very last song that comes with illuminations as part of the Millennium Celebration is promise. It's on that plays at the very end. When you're leaving the park and you can hear parts of this song refrained throughout the entire elimination soundtrack. Specifically the beats to the will go on parts and I think that the will go on something that everyone needs to remember when it comes to apricot specifically if you look at the way that the parks headed if you look at the direction and the change and all of that stuff it might be a little bit scary especially. This is a part that you love as much as I do. But you have to remember. Things are changing. We're going to invent new ways to build different attractions. We're going to see new things in terms of technology. And that's exciting promises. A very inspiring insightful song when it comes to invention and discovery and it reminds us that we're always moving forward. We have to continue to move forward. And as the sun sets on only nations in Epcot begins. Its changes in the words of promise. We'll go on moving on through the good times and the tears ever on a thousand circles around the sun. New Life has begun. And that's very important to remember these next couple of years. We begin to see all these construction walls go up and have caught starts to take on a new life. There's a lot to be excited about. And I'm I'm happy to have lived through the last couple of years with APP And I just wanted to say before I.

"Comes alive like it definitely has Disney magic. Are they doing stuff? Nowadays that's cooler and more impressive. Sure but but maybe not at the same level of charm. This show has a delight for the senses. It's just I know we're talking about the song specifically but in the attractions like the lights up. Get all the music. But the song the reason we picked the song as that captures all of that essence that you're talking about we're GonNa talk about any of the Re Re mixes well. I do think that that's worth bringing up so tony on. We do not sure if this is a contest but if it were we would like to throw tiki room into the ring. Not just as the show song that you get but all the remix says that it has spawned and if you've not heard the Hillary Duff Remix for instance. Well you need to get on. It's it's tastefully awful Yeah my sixteen year olds really loves it and actually I probably heard that song the Tiki room for the first time. Five Hillary Duff and even so I thought it was a great song. Get you dancing. Get your shoulders move in and Shimmy shake the ticketing sticking Yup. Oh look at all you take you take. Los Lobos doesn't version Wayne Brady. We just found out that the virgin incredible youtube videos. So you have to go and watch that but my personal favourite like I love hearing this song with like these instrumental. Remix IS I want to call it. A remix instrumental versions but they are different. That you hear on like the Disney Resort Channel But my favorite one is the magic kingdom entrance loop has this like instrumental tiki room. That's just steal kettle drums and like this. Calypso vibe.

"With you and you can listen to our banter but you can't be offended. You just keep your cats right so thank you for thank you to the Disney discussions five gas for having us on and we hope you all have a great big beautiful tomorrow by that Lien Harass Them. All right good picks barrel yes stitch. What is your pick for favorite attraction? It's a small other people. Turn off our podcast. 'cause you're singing but because of the song all right. Let's let's see one person to stop listening to. Let's only me must listening to us now. Do demand that she doesn't even listen. Let's hear some facts about it's a small world was written by the Sherman brothers. Obviously it's the most played song in the world. Will John Oop that a long time? And this song was using the nineteen ninety four Disney moving. The Lion King was Ozzie. The bird started seeing. Is singing it to scar and scar almost eaten for lunch. Yes so the Sherman brothers are asked to do a song this the it's a small world. The only had I think ten months to work on this for the world's fair very short amount of time. So Walt Disney Asks them to create a song and the original thought was to have each country's anthem national anthem. Play as you go around but when they did that it just sounded terrible like they overlapped with each other. Yeah it was. It was an awful sound so Walt Disney came to them saying I need one song can easily translate into many languages and be played around the Sherman brothers. Then wrote it's a small world after all in the wake of the nineteen sixty two Cuban missile crisis which influenced the song's message of peace and brotherhood when his first presented to Walt. They played it as a slow ballot. Walt requested something more cheerful so they sped up the tempo and sang in counterpoint. And what was so delighted that the final result that he renamed the attraction. It's a small world after the song was originally going to be called children of the nation of the nation's Yep. That's pretty cool. It's a great song. Sorry I know Jenny from The Disney Dana. Podcasts hates the song I do too. They're not big fans but it's the most played song in the world world plays all day and then also plays all night nonstop. Let's hear from Tom. Michelle from the hyperion. Adventure podcast about some of their favorite Disney attraction songs. Well Hello Tony Spero stitch. Thanks so much for inviting us to be apart once again of the Disney discussions podcast. We're really honored and really appreciate this opportunity. Yeah this is so we'd love your show. We are honored that we get to be just like Michelle said and we can't wait to talk about one of our favorite topics as a matter of fact absolutely. Yeah Disney attraction song so there are so many great ones to choose from. Actually we've been pondering this for a while and we keep hemming and Haworth and trying to figure out which one is our favorites. But it's really tough because there are so many great ones there are and you know. I'm sure that there's a lot that are pretty common to a lot of people and we tend to try to go a little bit Outside of the box well you do. Straitlaced laced straightforward to the normal things. Pretty much you know. I'm very vanilla. Michelle she's all colors of the rainbow. She likes all things. I'm sure hers will be very interesting. So let's get to it. What Michelle what is your favorite Disney attraction song? Well I really did. Take a lot of time to think about this. And you know Disney is based on people's personal experiences and how they enjoy. The park is based on on what they have had as their journeys in that and for me going to Disney world. For the first time I was pretty young and I really remember my very first attraction was it's a small world and I know that some people if they didn't go to the parks for the first time until they were older or as an adult they might think oh small world pretty corny but to me. It's just very symbolic getting back to being a kid and having that permission to go into the park here that song and like yes. I'm a kid again and I'm going to see this park through. Kids is and that's one of my favorite attractions song. I love it. I love the reasoning behind it. There are some people out there who will tell you. Oh I it just gets in your head and you can't get it out and everything but I think it's kind of something that is great about it and I do like the meaning behind it and the thought behind it and so and I appreciate your story for why it is the one that you love so much. Yeah and it has a lot of history with the with. There's no question parks yeah. There's no question about that. That's for sure as for me. Let's see here. I had a tough decision to remain. Because there's so many great ones you think about you know the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki. Big Beautiful Trauma Rose You. There's so many wonderful ones but I just went back to one of my favorite actually my favorite attraction at both Disneyland and at Walt Disneyworld goes back to the haunted mansion in grim grinning ghosts. You know when that song kicks and it's just so fine and it just is the attraction for me I love grim grinning ghosts You know it is it. Is it like a big hit? That's GONNA chart no but it's just a lot of fun in and I think that's what they attraction is. It's supposed to be kind of spooky but it must be kind of fun and I believe that's what that song is so I basically went to my favorite attraction and the song from it so that makes sense. It is a fun song and you know. I think that also evokes a lot of fun feelings for a lot of people and their families. So yeah choice. It's another classic news written by some of the imagine ears that actually worked on it so very cool anyway. Thanks again guys. We really love your show and we really appreciate you thinking of us and inviting us to be on it so thanks again guys appreciate it. We'll be right. So they mentioned small world and then they mentioned grim dirty ghosts from the haunted mansion. So I'll talk about this one. This is one of my favorites too little spooky but not too scary. It was composed by Buddy Baker with lyrics by X. ASENSIO. Who's a name that you'll hear later on as well? He was imagine near for Walt Disney and wrote the scripts for haunted mansion as well as the lyrics to the song. The title comes from a William Shakespeare's poem Venus and Adonis. Our talking about William Shakespeare just wanted to say a quick facts about him go for that. He invented some words that we actually use today about two thousand of them. He invented lonely excellent and almost two thousand others. Oh and another. That is your history for apart the podcast. This this podcast is good for more than just Disney. If you be learning on as excited for me no I I was. I was hoping we would get through a whole episode of that. The Fox guy coming in I vote somebody so he did. Which which songs did you write? I wrote Some of them. Oh okay good good job. I helped him. Oh really even though you work for Fox you wirt in the sixty s on the songs. Wow you don't look that old. Yeah good for you. How'd you get in here again? The bookshelf a book. You were hiding in the bookshelf. You can you. Can You. Even get sparrow back in here please. I mean you'd.

It'll be almost four years since we last went and other we did. Do Champ Dan podcast. That's right and it's our first time going during Halloween time. Yeah which is exciting. "Focused. I am man. That's a great cruise on Disney cruise. As you gotta go yeah and they go. I honestly a perfect links We did a three night for our first cruise and short is way too quick. You GotTa five nights is a relaxing. Good rues the course. I like to do the whole seven if you can do. The seven but five is also really great. Because you get you get to relax and get it into three. It's like you unpack your bag. You go to dinner. You pack your bag and you leave. I mean so the reality of a three night cruise is let's just say it starts on day one the first and you board the ship anywhere from eleven. Am to four pm so you really have half a day day and you don't necessarily have your luggage yet. It takes a while so it's half a day on the ship and you go to dinner and there's some some entertainment then you have. Have you been travelling all day. And you're tired aired. Yeah so then you have day to which is a full day then you go. That's you've done one night so now you're doing day to night that's your second night and then you go to day three. You have a day to do what you want. And then the next day you leave so you twofold as on the ship with three nights though it just you have have a half day work. Yeah you really don't have anything on that last day. You have breakfast and that's it there's no entertainment there's breakfast.

"Yeah because they're only going to be here for a limited. I'm GonNa tell you right now. Miss Kate Christmas is coming these. He's on your own. Don't go to Amazon prime and get this sent to me. Yeah right along with that was talked about two weeks ago but we had it on our episode. Notes us to talk about was the debut of new color in the Disney parks and that would be Aaron del Aqua inspired by frozen so this collection in is an icy blue color. It's the first ever global release for a caller which means it's available at Disneyland Walt Disney World Resort Disneyland Paris Hong Kong Disneyland Shanghai Disney resort and shop dizzy dot com so it's available everywhere by the way I that's not a new color. I ended it that Clarendon Indosat four years ago okay. I just didn't call it that name. Did you call it. Blue just blew yeah. You're colorblind. That's why that's why it was so special. Describe me as a colorblind man. Yes what is icy blue mean to you cold very visually that mean visually it means. It's Shimer's but can't okay you can see Shimmer. Oh I can see Shimmer so yeah well. I'm not sure blinder stain Chevrolet right. You're not glitter blind. It's always it's very fascinating to me to talk to you about that sure because I am not I am not truly a hundred percent car bland. I'm red green color deficient of what is Christmas look like for you. Well well the best way I can describe this is I had an eye doctor had chart and chart had what normal people see what color blind people see what black white. Red Nope Hope Red Green colorblind people see what people who are truly carbine and of course the truly who was a black and white photo bad not for me the people that see normally it's very vibrant colors very rich colors and the people that are Red Green. Everything is everything is dull down so red green colorblind. It does not mean that it only affects red-green affects all the colors in the spectrum but everything is just dulled down a little bit. What is your most vibrant color that you can see. Would you say in your opinion and you don't vibrant means not really Oh. I mean yellow is vibrant but it's muted for you right. Oh that's so sad. It's not sad. It's the only thing ever no you can you distinguish neon colors. Yes I can tell something is neon I can't tell you the exact Q. of it's okay. I can tell you it's neon green or it's Neon Orange Orange Purple and yeah I think my favorite question is how do I drive with stops with the stoplights. That's my favorite Martian. I'll its top the bottom and also have if I'm if I'm ever in a city that turns the lights I waste. That's a little more difficult and it also says has stop non. Stop Signs is yes. I'm no problem with stop sign yield because they don't make a go green. Go sign right so on some of them they have. I'm pretty sure clear that about this season making them for very safe to put green goes one on news of I forgot to mention its its own category really. I don't have a camera sound effect of the words I would have played a thank you is that recently in in a lot of meet and greet areas. They debuted an automated camera and took out the photographers for these meet and greets and people people were outraged. Go ahead. I actually Bob Disney's here. Oh my God along yeah. He likes to talk about this Bob. I WANNA I WANNA. Thank you for coming back to the show. I know it's been a while. I know that you've been probably very busy. What with the Sony Disney scuffle yeah well we got him. We got him back. Hey Okay exactly. I heard that he was a big figure of Tom. Holland was a big figure making that happen well. He's kind of short. Yes I was talking. He was really instrumental so so he's quite the instrument yeah and he's got a chest won't quit. What did you WanNa talk about well. You just mentioned the story. That's very interesting very dear to my heart. Oh we had this brilliant and I'm going to call it a brilliant idea. It was a brilliant idea to get rid of these photographers and replace them with the automated photography Talker phy my was it brilliant. If you've been in the parks you know how dangerous these photographers you know that they trip people constantly. You know they're they're constantly coming at you and saying let me take your picture and that bothers people that is that is true yeah as someone that is an introvert naturally. I don't appreciate thank you you understand if I want. You all seek you out so brilliant idea. I came up with put up a goal tripod up there. It wasn't even tripod. Bob Through very the idea put a box out. There was a farmer on Campbell Hind on behind it and it'll take your picture automatically no house no no. Muss no fuss you scan your band and we're done boom well. The problem with that. You see is that people were saying the photos taken with these boxes. The pictures were not clear sure they were not centered on faces. There were some wrinkles to work. Some families were even smiling in their pictures should baseball for safety tasks. It's not safe to smile. Why not it's Disney. Smiles Bob was a joke. I can't tell when you're casting because you talk with the same inflection so no that was my brilliant idea is dead for now. It will come back. That's our new story is that they actually brought back. The photographers there was an online petition danger wins. The danger wins again but they brought back talker so they have now been replaced so plan b going forward. If we're going to put the photographers talkers back we're going to surround the photographers with guardrails or bubble wrap no stop. It is my idea so so I would offer my I two cents. You said they bumped into them. I just thought bubble wrap would be the logical shows are taking pictures. Were popping sound annoying with Ib. Well some people like that. It's soothing gene for me not for you. You don't like loud noise. Okay thank you so much for stopping by. Let me ask Oh Patrick. You're back good I was. I didn't know if you were still in the room. I didn't hear you sorry about the photographers are back. I really want to see the pictures taken by these box kind of do too. I if you you have been to the parks lately and have a picture on your photo pass that was taken by an automated camera. Please send it to us on twitter instagram or or face but I'm GonNa tell you right now. If you could could manufacturer one that could possibly be done by a box camera photoshop yourself. That'd be awesome. WanNa real one. I want a fake one a really really awful awful figure right. That's fine. That's fine. Let us guess whether it was real or fake at their. That's a great we should have a facebook post on real or fake Miller fake. Is it doctor. Did this happen. with the resort news. I only have one piece of information for you this week and that is the soon to open Riviera. Era Resort is currently offering a forty percent discount for visa card members sauce. "With with we've had a rough two weeks had a rough two weeks terrible well. That's not fair. It's not we have been under the weather number. One and I don't know what's been going on but I've had like a two week week. sinus thing which is why we didn't record two weeks ago and then this week we had a sick poppy that that took precedence so we apologize for the delay and we're very happy back. I feel like this is going to be a good episode. Hope so just have a feeling so let me do some introductions agents who who are you. Who are you I am you. Who is this I am to you are you. I am Kate your host. I'm once again joined by the man who thinks skyline is makeup. You wear on airplanes. Patrick thought is correct because in theater we have guy liner. Which is the island? The gentleman wear so not skyline around the airport on the airplane. I think they should market it. I love it call up Bob Eiger who Bob Disney Disney. Thank you and then if you had turbulence it's a whole new world. It's Oh so you're assuming we okay step back. I'm assuming you're putting the skyline or on while on sky liner will yeah sure not before you know it has to be applied while on is in the emergency box in the skyline show. It has been opened anyway. Thank you all for being so patient. We're so happy to be back now. Fully fully loaded boy. We're good. We're one hundred percent again. We're very happy to get back to you all and talk about stuff that much but alright ninety percent. Maybe percents ninety percents as best. We can hope for yeah absolutely absolutely so we have to tackle a question of the week that we asked two weeks ago sixteen weeks ago actually got a lot of responses. You know what I did. I did not see a single one usually don't because I manage the social media so anyway the question albeit an odd one was where would you you like your ashes scattered in the parks. I forgot about that because we talked about Shawshank them. Exactly which is I think one of your finest moments thank you very much. We had many many responses on instagram and facebook. Elena Pau thirty six said I would want my ashes scattered at splash mountain wherever when things zippy Duda all right just imagine someone tossing the ashes Zip Pitty Duda ashes SIP thirty eight ashes in between no okay that was the visual living equivalent of throwing the all right you know because people can't see us when you never gone megs the law said by the Lego Dragon in Disney springs brings in the water is running the one perfect. TJ said the rose and crown pub no doubt and said actually I asked him. I said what's what's the correlation like. What's your attachment. He's like there's alcohol there. There's a whole lot of place and I sprinkle me in Kava Delta Akilah like we love going there in the corner. Yeah actually the rose and crown the upcoming plans for England are kind of exciting here so maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to be sprinkled there but however ever you might get blown around quite a bit. Krista see said I feel like the easiest place would be at the safari at Animal Kingdom. Just hang a leg out and Shawshank it like Bashar Oleg Job. Over Money Jal Mbo my God that's that's perfect and then jess our top of the Tower of terror which I can only imagine someone as the doors open just flinging their ashes to a Nova. Oh it becomes a I'm in everybody's lungs. It's right. We had a really awesome review this week on on Apple podcasts. We just have to read. It was just really really special. This is from Courtney Rose Ninety five and she said this podcast is truly magical. Our family is planning Disney vacation and this podcast has the best tips on restaurants fast passes and all the new things coming to Disneyworld the banter between Patrick and Kate is hilarious in so-so entertaining meaning they have such a passionate and love for Disney that shines through in every episode this podcast gives me the same joy and happiness that US Disney lovers get from the parks. Keep up the great great work that was from Courtney rose isn't it isn't that the some say love it is it is listening. She said that doesn't work. She is list knew who wrote a kick in review. Tom Proud of usually I'm the rhyming one. I didn't rhyme at all well. You're pros was good logo. Your rhyme scheme was excellent low. Haiku but excellent went as always if you'd like to send us your questions or thoughts about the show or episode you can call us at eight one four three one four nine four eight two and like. I said Ed leave us. You're lingering questions about anything. We talk about or your comments on any kind of news clip. You might see on your own that we don't get. We always enjoy hearing about that. Let's head to the parks epcot was on everybody's minds this week and for good reason the Epcot experience opened on the park's birthday so magic kingdom had a birthday this year this week as did Epcot so the epcot experience is located in the Odyssey Events Pavilion in future world near Test Track and the Mexico pavilion not walled off as as far as we know no not anymore so much as walled off you can really we see it This is the building that if you look at from the world showcase you go. What country is that. It's not a country. It's the it's the Odyssey building which has been used over the years for special events love of your accent when you say add a seatbelt. I really hate you right now. So the epcot experience is created by Walt Disney imagineering and it's an in depth look that is what is coming to Kat in the future and what is currently underway oh so is that the place where they have the three sixty yes so we watched a wonderful blog by one of our of of log by one of our favorite. Disney bloggers which is diy newscast no thank you that's Jack over at D. N. Y. Newscast Great Great Youtube Page we highly recommend highly. He gives a very in depth look into this experience without spoiling anything and also gives a follow up link in case. Yes you do want to view this experience because what it is. It's a three hundred sixty degree room. It's almost circular and there's in the middle. There is a a big plot lot of land that can have the special projections displayed on it which will show you what is coming to epcot what's already been started and what we can look forward to in the future the next couple years. There's a continuous. It's about a twenty minute film. That's what Jack said so. If you are there you can you can come at any time. It's coming good. There's no come in the middle of it and have to sit and watch all the way through and get back to where you were. We caught a little glimpse of it and the projection mapping technology looks for non about some of those rides where they have the faces projected imagine that show or the castle show imagine that being honor map but better yeah looks like it looks like everything could change it was I was they were saying that. It's the exact same technology that's going to be in the Minnie and Mickey ah what's it called the escape railway of incher guy liner extravagant yes besides his exact same technology. That's going. It'd be done that right yeah. It looks so so after that right opens at some point someone's gotTa. Post a full lights on Mickey and Minnie. It's just a bunch of white walls man. It's gotta be creepy. I also want to point out that that the Odyssey building also apparently houses specialty drinks for the epcot food and wine fest that is still L. available on the outskirts of the building and then once you enter the interior long wine infest this year success Z. Actually go we we did not think about this when we were planning our very very quick. October trip we'll be able to go there on the nineteenth and be able to get some kiosk food server me. Marie my big bowler hats right harkening back to episode one yeah if you see as their and I'm wearing my earful podcast bowler. Please say hello yeah. We do need to get like we have cards t shirts pins or sweatshirts. It's GonNa time yeah. It can get a little chilly at night but it's good any kind of publicity is good publicity so maybe we could make those really fun things that you stuck on the back of your phone that carrier credit cards that have our logo on it and then we'd have to like walk around with their phones out well. We offer them to people. We know L. where our podcast is do you. I still think we need a t shirt with a bowler on somebody out there to design it for me a teacher at Exeter loyalest fans. That's over advertising for loyal fans this to get the you know. Elena Pau Lives in Orlando Florida Florida because I listen to me if I was in the park and I saw somebody wearing a Bolo teeshirt. That's true trees. You're not sure the Bolo Bolo cap on it. I'd be very cute. Maybe we're going to run. Maybe we should try to find the most the most awkward piece of clothing to wear and then marketed that way. That's a whole different podcast. Let's let's not go off the rails. Inexperience and shows have run. If you're planning to go to a desert party this year I hate to tell you but there is going to be a price hike in January these desert parties so it's going to begin after the first of the year and the Magic Kingdom Dessert Party is going to increase the price of ninety nine dollars for adults and fifty nine dollars for Kids Animal Kingdoms Dessert Party rivers of light will be eighty nine dollars and fifty eighty three dollars for adults and children respectively Hollywood studios the Star Wars Galactic Dessert Party which we attendant was awesome is going up to eighty nine dollars and fifty three dollars seventy five. It went up. They all went up by like ten dollars. Yeah the Epcot Forever Dessert Party which is going to be brand new. That's going to be ninety nine nine dollars and fifty nine dollars for kids fantastic dessert. Party is the only one stain at thirty nine dollars for adults to deal in nineteen for kids. They're desert parties. He's also a little less involved than the others so it's a bit of a lighter fare so yeah. We've only done one of those. I would say the fantastic one's a great thing to add on. If you want want something tiny to add I agree. It's not very much money and get you just something special to that. Show bills up real fast FANTASMA yeah and if you've got if you've got that seat that's that's gold yeah. I'm curious because the seating for that show is above. It's on top of the amphitheater for the actual dessert party. I thought they got to sit right question is do they then sit at A. I think they do yeah. They have all those like banners hang up so I think you must enjoy dessert party up top. Hop First and then go down to your seniors hope so so it's great yeah it. It's it's like a fast pass if you wanted to buy it another fast fast paced like that so yeah. Let's buy some merchandise. Heck Yeah Donald. Do Love Donald so along with epcot forever. We got some new merchandise and the merchandise as for this new show included at t shirts jackets epcot forever logos could he's for pass holders ear hats tote bags tumblers and journals they they all look very eighties but also futuristic. You know how the eighties was kind of futuristic at times no kind of felt you know what I'm talking about like members the only jackets eighties but the eighties trying to be the thousands. You know what I mean okay. That's what I mean. In case your tastes are a little bit more expensive and whose artistic right you can now buy very special set of mini ears that are designed by Heidi Klum for a mere six hundred dollars and what do these years do well. They have over one hundred fifty swarovski crystals stuttered in that 'cause I'm still a shocked at the price tag and they weigh a half a pound each crystal or take. The hat in general weighs a half my guy. Could you imagine half a pound so be seventy five pounds pounds for a hat. My God yeah in unrelated news neck injuries have increased in the parks. There are fewer than five hundred of these headbands available double so three yeah because they're only going to be here for a limited. I'm GonNa tell you right now. Miss Kate Christmas is coming.

"You used to talk about. Is there a Bob Disney after school. Special the more huge about the birds the bees nope absolutely not. I know the first rule of Improv is yes but that's a nope nope. Let's buy some merchandise instead so now in the parks available to purchase you can get red cith trooper merchandise so think of the normal stormtrooper but now they're outfit isn't read. This is in preparation for the new movie for evening wear for evening wear. Yes you can get red and black hoodies. That's the main two colors along with t shirts parts costumes and figurines. That's now available. We we've been talking about the rise skywalker past two days we we have with with the trailer was some other fan videos. We've seen we're getting more and more hype for it yeah. I have some hope that Judy knew hopes no nope. I don't then old hope nope. I just have hoped the Abrahams can salvage the story. I'll I I didn't tell you this. I heard that there have been massive. re-shoots requested did rule which okay good all the time most films. There's re-shoots. There was re-shoots for rogue. One rogue was great there re-shoots for Solo we love Sola. We're among the two out out of ten people solo but they said that in the article there's a lot of re-shoots and it's not looking good looking good the fact that there's so many that doesn't that's not a thing so. I mean this isn't GonNa. Bother me because I'm already kind of worried about the film anyways so like hearing. This doesn't really I will tell you right now that I am such a die hard fan that will love it. I you know I feel like I like the last Jedi until I after I thought about it up. Sinclair walked out and I was like no. You know what this it's really bothers me and this really bothers me. Actually I'm not GonNa talk about it but the one fan theory that I read recently has made me dislike. The two other posts accused sequel sequels the two other sequels so one through six now. I like just call a sequel postal. That's what I just popped in my throat. I think it's been nice no but I threw six now and I understand one through six a whole lot better and seven and eight now. I really don't think I I angry with it but we'll talk more about that and then the date sure thing this is something that is super exciting to me so remember. I told you that target was going to partner with Disney. The need to create some pop up stores around so target now has haunted mansion merchandise. Oh for me happier. This is you yes as all you I would. I love this stuff coming. Just I'm trying to air elbow. You were doing kink last week. Thinking tried to say wink hint and I said pink ink. I do remember that yeah. Obviously you didn't because I have to tell you but this is fun. You can go to target now. Apparently these are these are sold out a lot of places but if you're lucky enough to find a hitch hiker super sized as rough fun co Pop. That's one of the lot of words they also have many Fun Co.. POPs of the singing bust. Don't the opera singer the mummy Madame liotta gusts as infamous for no they have t-shirts with the three hitchhiking ghosts on the front. The second design has is it's a great t shirt with the words. The haunted mansion is my happy place across the front which you need so yeah if you can if you get a chance to buy these things you're going to be in the minority because these are already selling out. Let's head across to the resorts to chat about some some things that have popped up in lieu of the Halloween events coming to the parks. You can now get special refillable mugs that are Halloween themed. These are really cool. Hi included a picture of tiny little photo photo. This is it's got a ton of colors mostly orange green red and purple and they've got a a couple of recognizable characters along with fall leaves. Mickey lollipops spiders and candies filling in the mugs base. I have now come up with next this week's question for our for our listeners tap. What do you do with your cups when you leave the park. Do you throw them out. I feel like do you keep them for a month and be like why did I hang onto this and then throw the amount. What do you do? I feel like they become pencil holders. That's a good one too. I'm curious though what are people that go there all the time which they do with them minds on my Disney wall all at school. I digress okay yeah anyway so we're going to move question Greek. who was that I was trying to be you? What a great idea honey. Thank you honey so inspired..

My favorite costume is first costume ever lake in the Captain America when he was going to the Hydra basis to destroy draw them winter soldier. Ask My number one Disney hero slash gu-guy is Kurban defraud. I love Kermit. The frog yeah I kind of went back can fourth between Mickey and Kermit on who is going to be number one or two and then can be interchangeable at any day why pigs communist number one no. I just did but I love kermit but yeah exactly but again. He's a good guy but he's not a guy. He's a frog. He's honest. He's truthful. He cares for his friends as if as as if they're his family yeah you could see there's a lot of similar traits between Captain America Woody and Mickey and Kermit and even though sometimes it gets down and gets upset he he always picks himself up just like Captain America. Anybody get very similar similar traits so kermit's I know Mickey was McKee was created before for them. It was making then captain tinker all right. My number is why didn't I think of that. "Friends. Tell you share with your friends. Yeah, tell them to come along for the ride. So we're gonna get to the main topic of our episode today. And that is the best snacks in Disney, which, again, our criteria for this is it has to be a snack has to be something that you can purchase with a snack credit if you're on the dining plant. So there's a couple of things that people like automatically think of, but I go, it's not a snack like the one thing that people kept saying was, this is the best neck Disney is the, the big huge Sunday at beaches and cream along the boardwalk, but it's not a snack very. Very expensive item. So we're going to discuss the snacks that we have found again. We have nearly eaten all them all the snacks.

No It was Pinocchio. Oh no name mom was right. I was Gonna go for each followed the lead of sparrow I thought I thought that it was an opening. Can you hear me before I was like Pinilla but we we gave final answer so that was our answer no matter what we thought. Pinocchio during venture did not open until nineteen eighty-three. Es Part of the new fantasy land all right what was the last attraction at Walt Disney personally supervised before his death haunted mansion pirates of the Caribbean are being Walt Disney's at Chad Tiki room or adventure through inner space parts occurred. No no I mentioned through inner space parts of the Caribbean aunt. I think pirates appeal. It didn't mention the Thema I was gonna say haunted mansion as well but and I think that probably came out later but I'm gonna go with content mansion. Okay Okay we'll pick condemantion then oh it was hard derby and this time no adventures through inner space. Caribbean did not open until three months after Walt's death by the end of this year so it's going to include galaxy's edge how many themed lands will Disneyland have to count seven nine eleven or thirteen on the Disneyland in California.
