Expect big crowds for the summer travel season -- and big prices, too
"With the unofficial start of the summer travel season here, travelers are looking for ways to save a few bucks. Prices to travel overall are expected to be lower than last year, but airfare is expected to be 4% higher than pre-pandemic levels. Paul Bowen in Dallas is feeling it. Everything's more expensive, take it from our expensive, so it's kind of hard to fit more than one trip in a year at this point. Stephanie hanrahan is flying out of Dallas with her daughter. So dad and brother are gonna stay behind for this one. They're trip to Disney World for two, was the same price as a trip for four to California. Last summer. Usually you can save some money if you plan ahead of time, but that was definitely not the case this time. So we kind of just had a grit our teeth and say, okay, if we want to have experiences in memories, we're going to have to make the sacrifice and pay the price. Triple-A predicts 37 million people will drive at least 50 miles from home this weekend. Several million more are expected to fly. I'm Ed Donahue.

The company had planned to relocate about 2000 employees from Southern California to Florida to work in digital technology, finance, and product development. Disney's announcement follows a year of attacks from Florida governor Ron DeSantis and the legislature, Disney filed a First Amendment lawsuit against desantis and other officials last month. Disney updates lawsuit against DeSantis to add new events
"Disney has amended its free speech lawsuit against Florida governor Ron DeSantis. The amended complaint adds in recent developments since the entertainment giant first sued desantis, and an oversight board for Disney World, nearly two weeks ago. It references legislation passed last week by Florida lawmakers that rescinds agreements that Disney and a previous oversight board consisting of Disney supporters made earlier this year. Those agreements would have given Disney control over design and construction at Disney World, the amended lawsuit says Disney is the only company affected by the new legislation. Disney and desantis have been engaged in a tug of war for more than a year. Desantis is expected to announce a presidential bid in the coming weeks. I'm Mike Hempen.

"Each action is running on with CNN, Dana bash this weekend, cut number 7 assassins and former governor of Arkansas, former head of Homeland Security former congressman fine fellow 72 years old, talking to Dana bash cut number 7. Let's be more specific about Disney. I don't like what Disney said. About the legislation that I would have supported in Florida, but it's not the role of government to punish a business when you disagree with what they're saying or a position that they take. If that was the view of a Republican, then we're going to be in all kinds of trouble in our businesses in blue states. If they start punishing businesses for taking a more conservative speech or position. And so I don't understand a conservative punishing a business that's the largest employer in the state. In Arkansas and as governors, we recruit industry. We support our industry because it provides jobs and we're not dictating to them what their speech is. Florida just signed in a 6 week abortion ban, Florida has said that Disney no longer gets special tax privileges and that's being disputed in court. Florida is leading the way on a lot of this stuff. And now you have left wing companies saying I would never want to move to Florida. That's a good thing, actually. Okay? And there's nothing the left does that we can not also do, right? Now this is important is that the left is really good. They're like parasites. They're good at taking over things. We're much better at starting things. So let's have a revival of entrepreneurship, right? This is why I can't stand this whole idea of sending kids to go to college. If you want to kill the entrepreneurial spirit, send a kid to go to college, right? It absolutely destroys the entrepreneurial potential in my opinion. I always laugh when someone says, I ask, what are you studying? They say I'm studying entrepreneurship. I said, you don't study entrepreneurship. You do entrepreneurship. No offense if anyone's studying entrepreneurship, but you do it, you take a risk, you get into the market. So I'm generally not a fan of left wing enterprises because you know why I'm not a fan of it. I'm not a fan of it because now if they have an idea ideological shift, then that's great. Like if these left wing Goldman Sachs firms say, you know what, we're leaving New York because of the crime because of the vagrancy because the schools because of the taxes and we're going to Florida and now we see the world differently. It's the opposite. These people leave these states and come to Texas with zero self awareness as to why this state is more attractive than the hellscape that they actually voted for.

When you see some of these scenes, how big the scenes are, we built a fair. We built a fair for 1908 and horses and animals and goats and pigs and rides that were era rides from 1908. It was just a bit of a ride from 1908. Yeah. You'll see it in the movie. It's crazy. That's just too much. You're just making other fathers look bad now, Randall, Terry. All right. You didn't need to do that. Listen, I got to make it. I've never done this stuff. Yeah, but you've been in movies. And you and I both know that in the culture wars, the storytellers are critical. And the bad guys, look at what has happened to Disney and marvel and D.C.. I mean, it's tragic. What's happened? So I'm a student of Frances schaefer. You love Frances schaefer. He was always saying you got to be in the arts. You got to be in the arts. And so I thought, all right, you know, in my life I've been writing books and I wrote a play and then finally when my boys were putting the screws to me to do this, I thought, all right, I'm doing it. And I mean, you know, now one of my boys, he'll mock me. The kid who survived cancer would be like, you didn't even know what you were doing when you made the movie. I said, I know I didn't know what I was doing, but I still did it.

Ron DeSantis Visits Israel As Disney Sues Him for Alleged Retaliation
"Ron DeSantis is in Israel right now. Seems to be on a kind of globe trotting expedition. And I don't know the exact purpose of it, but the kind of obvious purpose to infer is that he wants to show that there is a foreign policy dimension. Think of it. Or the governor of a state or the CEO of that state, but that means you're dealing with domestic issues. In fact, even issues like immigration are somewhat outside of your control, not entirely, but that's a federal matter. And moreover, all of foreign policy is a national not a state issue and the president is the commander in chief. So desantis setting doesn't want to go into the campaign with the, you know, have you ever been to Israel? No, I haven't. Have you ever been to Poland? No, I haven't. So I think he wants to show. I've been to these places and moreover, I've met with the leaders of those countries. I've been able to see for myself what's going on. I'm developing a broader horizon than merely the state of Florida. So this seems to be the purpose of it. Meanwhile, in Florida, the Disney corporation has filed a lawsuit against dissenters and also against the new state oversight board, claiming that the state of Florida is engaging in targeted retaliation against Disney. Now, let's look at what the nature of this lawsuit is. The lawsuit basically says that the government is punishing Disney for expressing an unpopular political viewpoint and this violates Disney's constitutional rights.

I know a lot of people are some conservatives seemingly are frustrated with what governor Ron DeSantis did with Disney. I'm not. I think it was a very important cultural war because it was sticking up for parents. What's your take on that Bridget? Well, I'm actually, I'm actually on the board. Governor desantis had pointed me to it. All right. Ultimately, no corporation should have special privileges and really, when you look at the aspect of universal compared to Disney, what have you, they've been able to have a number of special privileges since 1967. It's really all about balancing the scales. And certainly, tourism is a huge aspect of the economy in Florida. And we want to continue to see that thrive, and I know governor Ron DeSantis wants to see and protect that industry. And as well as floridians. But at the end of the day, they are the overreach and influence of this large corporation. Is an unfair advantage. And so he was balancing the scales.

Ex-Disney employee allegedly shot videos up women's skirts
"A gift shop worker at Disney's Hollywood studios theme park in Florida, who was arrested for taking videos under women's skirts, says he's done that hundreds of times. Police say 26 year old Jorge Diaz Vega was arrested in late March, a witness reported seeing the suspect, recording a video up the skirt of an 18 year old customer at the Star Wars gift shop where he worked at Hollywood studios. Diaz Vega is charged with just one felony count of video voyeurism, but Orange County sheriff's detectives say he's confessed. Admitting he's done it more than 500 times in recent years showing them examples on his cell phone and admitting to taking the videos for a quote guilty pleasure. Plus which is kind of replacing is replacing. The fast pass So we wanted to kind of go over the basics of what it is some questions and answers some examples on how it works. what's free. What's not free how it's priced and so on. So i guess i'll start with some questions and then you guys can chime in truck so high level lauren. What genie plus. That's a great. I know it is so just. Give us a little basic of pressure. Steve can handle us like the basics so basics then we'll get into them. We'll get into all the details. So essentially three services started today. You have genie service which is free. Plus which has a cost of fifteen dollars per person her day of your tickets and then there's the individual lightning lame alicarte. I don't even know what they're calling it. It's the lightning. I know it is. Yes no because genie plus also lately like no. That's is gives you access to the lightning lane right. Thrashings say lightning lane. Purchase is the purchase of front of hugh access for a single attraction which also happens to be the same as guests using like. I said what's very confusing to me. It does not make the anger. Member is a genie. Plus doesn't give you access to the single lightning lane. Purchase attractions confusing. It's very confusing. Just lay it out. Genie is gonna give you all but two of the top tier rides in h. r. Basically so you're gonna have fast past. Essentially lightning lay now ability for the majority of the rides with this except for the ones. You really really want now Except for like your top tiers. So you're seven dwarfs space mountain the new attitude. We ride the frozen ride in epcot rise at the resistance. Mickey many flight of passage in everest are all individual purchases. Yes basically almost everything else is going to be falling under that genie plus fifteen dollars a day deal. Yes there's a few rides that don't have jimmy lightning lane access. But they don't need it so it's fine when each park like there's hardly anything so So yeah so. That's essentially what we're talking about today Jeannie plus i kind of feel like is almost like the old fast past system the paper fast fast system but online and little smarter so now do you think all right lane describe it. It's it's like the paper fast pass but instead of running around and giving you just get them on your phone and you pay and you have to pay for it. Hey four but they had this disneyland in california years ago and we loved it there. Because i do like the service i think you know. I was watching it all day. Today it was like a game. Be on this right now. Yeah just to see what had long waits did it. Change the wait times for standby lines like that stuff. Like i was kind watching for some pattern of something different. And i don't think we can actually get a true feel of it yet. It's gonna take time. But i think there's some benefit to it. I do like genie. Plus i'm not in love with the individual lightning lane with the extra prices. Those arranging. what six dollars to or seven fifteen roadrunner. They're arranging lucy today. Yeah seven dan twenty dollars a day and you got to to guaranteed attractions in that. I like that plan. Can we do that. Yeah i i and lawn. And i had a brief discussion before the show but i i still have a hard time paying disney ticket prices at the front gate and then plus a service the disney has given for free for a decade and then buying alicarte lightning land person per day. Plus you have to buy access on the highest the tr- on the on the most popular attractions. Yeah heckler balanced my opinion. The value is there. There is no doubt no one likes to wait in a three hour attraction line when you would easily pay twenty bucks to hop to the front of the line or the other concern. I have is capacity. And how long will that line get and we'll that line be longer than the standby line. Which is what the problem was with the railway fast paced system before when they changed that became a mess. Yes that's the thing. So like a universal studios they will sell express passes but they only sell so many. So you're guaranteed. Well no because what universal does too is as a surprise sell them. The price goes up. Yes so you know the day they released that. Ms your cheapest data by those passes. Yeah as time goes on it gets more and more expensive because they're trying to basically deter people from by. Yeah and then you know that you're gonna have a decent experience. But what universal does is they just charge you a hundred and fifty or more per person per day so it's a lot more schedule any thank you know like you just go people to their phones so much more. You don't a word. Disney like this is supposed to be about family and spending time together and disease talented Like let's let's make it so much easier for you guys. We're gonna make this easier. I have had so many phone calls with clients.

Oh how disney likes to focus on the surprise and delight elements One of the coolest things i've ever stumbled on was kind of a pop up performance by hand bell choir at disney springs. That was cool. That was very christmas magical. Well that's speaking our language right. You love your little handbells so cool. It's nice to walk around. Like i think a couple of last year maybe the year before i was at seaworld for their christmas event. It's just it's just nice because it's nippy at night and you're walking around and your they've got all kinds of you know like apples. I don't know like hot apple. Cider schmo frigid. Yeah it's just nice to go and their songs and lights and shows and it's just a great you just out there and walking around it's nighttime at any of those parks always awesome as well though. They don't like something they can. Just vote against it. Well they vote with their dollars if they don't like something they don't go. Yeah exactly. that's how it should be for any business right. The business is going to run itself the way it does. And you're either gonna like it or not and they are doing the right thing. In my opinion. I don't love all of them either but i guess you know i get why they're doing them. You know it makes sense because you know someone posted while. I don't wanna see tinkerbell with face tattoos and nose ring well. I don't think they're gonna go that far right. People will jump to extremes. I think the face characters will probably still have requirements around them. They do want to stay on brand with those but for any other cast member. Why not right. We're all used to seeing it everywhere in the world. As you know times have changed so disney should change with the times is my point so i'm just saying it's not always easy and everybody doesn't always a blanket statement to and this takes us. I'm going to jump into point number two because my my second point is a thing that you experience at disney is change and i- i capture this thing. Change won't ever be embraced by everyone right. Disney will change in grow in fact while disney. What was his statement. This will never stay. The same will always be growing and changing and so change by its very nature from wellstone. Words is something that is very disney. But it hasn't been recently in the now. They're changing everything well. They've always changed a bunch of things. But yeah i would say the pace of change partly because a covert and partly because of fiftieth fiftieth. Partly being what we were just talking about in brand being more inclusive changes flying all over the place but i think disney is renowned for thoughtful change and and i believe that people well i think we can all agree. Everyone listening and us disney people in particular. They don't really like change. No one likes change but disney people get very up in arms about as disney person. I can confirm. This is true. "There. And we've never actually been. No. We're told that it exists. It was there. You might still be there. We would love to go there one day just to see what it actually is. But we're always just so busy. And it's time to eat in a park. It's literally like, you know, fries while you're in lying. Yeah. It's not quite bacon on a stick. Oh, good times we miss it so much. And then all the rest of these passes that we're going to discuss are only relevant if you live in Florida. Which I have my own issues with. But they have the source for a pass, which is 8.99. Plus tax, they have the pirate pass, which is 6.99 plus tax. And the pixie does pass, which is three 99. And they vary in the number of reservations block out dates and things like that. The great thing about those for the people who live in Florida is that you can do a monthly payment plan, which makes them much more affordable, economical for families. Works out great for them. But legitimately, if you don't live in Florida, none of that applies to you. Right. The passes in general don't apply to you. You get the one pass and the one lump sum option. Right. So to all of our Florida folks, you're so lucky. Right. We have considered moving to Florida just to save money on passes. Right. Which is not really a good idea. Just don't make noises. It's like a choice, but, you know. And Disneyland, they came out with some passes as well. Yeah? Yeah. I don't think I did not write those down. They did, I'm sure. I'm sure they came back. I'm hoping anyway. We've been so good about keeping notes apparently. It's true that we obsess over the Disneyland pass. It was like the one thing we cared about the most. Right. And now it's like, okay, well, what do we need to know about Florida? We're on the other side of the country. So the California passes are a little less important at this point. What I'm really excited about is that it is getting back to the point where people can go back to the parks more frequently, which is great. Yeah. It's if you're going more often than just the one time you're going, these passes are a great option. Because going into the parks just for, you know, going to each of the parks in Florida will cost you as much as one of these passes will. Right, so like it's a $130 a day or so for each pass and each time you go to the parks, you're gonna go for there's four parks, if you were to go to all four on your visit. Yeah. So you're gonna be paying 5 to $600 in tickets for to go visit the passes one time. If you do it a second time you break even and a third time going forward, it's basically free of charge on all of them. Right. Plus, I mean, the thing that we love the most about it we've said it before is just the flexibility of doing half days without feeling like you're being gypped on anything. Yeah. And you can leave on half a day without feeling like you're missing out, you know, you're like, we're just gonna sneak in there, get as much as we can do and then pass out on the way home. Perfectly. Me, I passed out on the way home. The thing about this that's different though is you have to reserve those days. Yeah. So you would have to make sure that you got down there as soon as possible and were able to use that day, otherwise you're burning a day. Did you have a reservation to get into the park? Yeah. I wonder if they allowed a floating 5th. So if you use one and you know you're going to be there for an extra the day, if you can then reserve that following 6 day if there's passes available. Do you know what I mean? I mean, it says you can have 5 at a time. So if you use that first one and then you realize you want to stay an extra day, you can jump on and if they have availability for the day, the days after. Yeah. Then you could do that, I believe. Do you know I'd be really curious about is if they only allow certain a number of people. So for example, like, what if they only allow 10% of the pixie pass in? And then 15% of the pirate. You know what I mean? So like you may lose availability if you have a lower level pass. Certain days. That's an interesting question. I think it is based more on just crowd volume in general. Yeah. I think it's a first come first serve system, but who knows? It feels like it's a 100% possible that they could switch things up on you. Which would make getting the incredible pass even better because then you would obviously have no blackout dates and you would have more options of getting in. If they limited the number of other passes that were allowed in for sure, yeah. And I don't know that they would either advertise or not advertise that, right? It's hard to say what if Disney would want you to I doubt they would advertise something like that. If you're paying what is it for the pixie pass, it's $19 a month, by the way for Florida, which is amazing. If you get that and they're like, by the way, you guys, we only allow 10% of the pixie passes in per day. Yeah. That'd be like, oh. Rude. You know, it will be interesting over time to see if that if, you know, people do deep dive investigations of things go like, you know, somebody has a pixie passenger, higher level pass, and they go, oh, I still have passes available. Why don't you? That would be interesting, because that would probably like, I guess that they didn't tell you that upfront. That would blow up their entire strategy. Yeah, again, I don't think it's something that they would do. That's not fair. I'm not going to say they wouldn't do things because who knows what they wouldn't do at this point. But I think it would be bad business to tell everybody, okay, if you're paying us less, you're less likely to be able to get into the park. I think it would be bad business for them, right? It's a good point, but I mean, it'd be interesting. I mean, I don't know. Complete guess because we just don't know. Otherwise, when looking about the program other than that there are a lot more money. Yeah. I don't see much difference at all from the season passes and we had before. No, and that's the thing about it is like everybody's like, oh, this new system, it's shocking. Oh, I can't believe it. Oh, we have to really dive into this. And it's like, for people that have had passes in the past, this really isn't that shocking. It's not that earth shattering. It's more or less the same thing. They've just altered a few points and instituted the reservation system that makes it a little less of free for all than it's been in the past. Because like we said, sometimes, in the past, we would decide, let's go to Disneyland. I mean, just literally. And we would say, okay, we're going tomorrow. And we'd get up super early drive down and be in the parks the next day. And it's definitely not something that's a 100% possible now. You would have to make sure that they had reservations open for that day. And you know, I think it's probably really good for their business to be able to understand when the crowds are coming. It works out well for staffing and things like that. But it's probably a little less free.

Steve looked at me. Like i don't think the trip to the is it five hours for the five hours long for the sugar. Calm other glucose coma. I don't i don't know worth that. Steve sugar coma for sure to mention brain freeze. Oh okay so it's always. That's only six mickey bars in our bed. Well now six hours every ten minutes you need to be all right but that is the if i can get this right. The disney very merriest after hours at magic kingdom event. That's pretty cool. I'm excited i can't wait. I don't know why get so excited about this. But the castle overlays that they do with the two side buildings with the The deterrence on either side. Love the entire effect on it. If you really if you really want to get the full magic kingdom experience you really need to tur- it. Maybe a turk guide. I don't know tried. That wasn't a good one. Maybe uphold that one off the reject pile be. Maybe but one thing to note is i. Don't see anywhere where it indicates that you need any kind of park reservation. I think it's kind of a given if you get a magic kingdom event ticket that you get to go into the magic kingdom so you don't have to worry about that stress will. The after hours party doesn't a park reservation. I am finding the light right. The silver lining. They had better let you into the park if you. We're looking for the silver lining. I don't see that you need a park reservation. Yes okay. I like that enthusiasm okay. All right sharpies next survey he's gonna take somewhere and i don't know where he's going to take us. It's going to be surprised. We're either going to disney springs or we're going to animal kingdom lodge we are. I headed to disney springs to important dates. That you should put on your calendar and that is august twentieth so by the time. You're hearing this podcast. You will want to put that date on your calendar But the next day is equally important if not more so and that is november eighteenth and those two dates. What they have in common is tickets go on sale for the new cirque du soleil show at disney springs on august twentieth and the first production is scheduled to open it november. Eighteenth so grab grab your family head on down to disney springs and see drawn to life. It's the new show If you remember cirque du soleil one nuba that was the show that had been in the cirque du soleil theater at what was downtown disney and disney springs And so that show has been completely changed. I the luba has ended in. The new show was literally moments away from opening night in march of twenty twenty When the entire operation not just cirque away but at walt disneyworld when black. So it's back where i'm excited. I know i know some people. Don't care for cirque du soleil. I love it. it's a really cool experience. I can see it over. And over. And i actually by their soundtrack. I love that music. Just it really gets me. i love it. It's so energetic. And it just makes me think. Stop good times. The field about cirque du soleil. We went to the nuba many many many times and then we went to a few others local ones and other that no boss. It's just fun to say. Yeah probably seen four or five different. It's been a long production. It's been a long time. I think they're the best they're awesome. We definitely oh deed on leonova at disney because we saw it many many times a different events but they always had a few different acts over the years. There was always a little something new so yeah we can't wait to see it all right. So steve what else can you not wait to see so this lauren was very excited about this. I'm a little more excited. Now that i've seen photos so over at epcot space to twenty. That's a new restaurant that was also slated to open. I think a long time ago is finally open now. That things have settled down. So they're saying mid-september so it's just a few weeks away here and we'll have space to twenty so the idea is so it's over in future world by mission space and you go to the departure lounge which is future world and you board. One of two space elevators. I drew later. I don't know i'm feeling like little hydro later. Technology and a little mission space from Magic kingdom as come together to make these two space elevators then they transport you up two hundred and twenty miles. That's why it's space to twenty above epcot to the syntagma centauri centauri space station. So that's where the restaurant restaurant is It looks pretty cool on the lighting and the giant windows and you can see everything from there So i'm excited to do it once. I don't know if i would do. You know. I feel like the novelty of it for me. Might wear off after once but We'll see but does seem kind of cool. Yeah september we can start booking Make sure you start booking reservations. I think that'll be good. It kind of reminds me the entrance of it. Looks a little bit like the wave. You'll see that it's like okay. We're closing the wave. Well and they've got the pictures online and it's so it's so much bigger than i thought it would be. It's huge that's pretty cool. Pretty amazing so it could be cool. I'm sure it'll be popular in the beginning. But then i don't know my gut feel is the novelty might wear off speaking of the novelty wearing off. Oh what's up. that's a good segue for me. "Said yeah it it's The they did say they'll continue their relationship with the nba. Whatever that means. And what don't they have like like a practice areas and things and like professional. Nba things at disney world. I seem to remember there being like a athlete's village like at the olympics down there for the nba players. They totally have the espn sportscenter. Right right down there that we have never even seen or i. I had a friend that worked at the restaurant. There was like an espn zone restaurant. Yeah there again. Didn't appeal to me. So i didn't ever venture in there but it feels like there's a does disney on espn. Yeah oh that would explain it. Say there's a really strange connection between disney and espn. of course they ownership. Yeah so. I'm sure they will stay in contact but the question is will there be another. Nba experience probably is the crazy thing about the essentially. There is a fifth gate at disney. The the and we've never even seen it we. Would you consider it a fifth gate experience type of thing. I don't know. I hear that it is okay. We'll have to go one time. Just all lace up my nikes and we will go and play basketball and see how well we do then. Oh don't even say noah. I know there my flipflops. Y'all give you some pompoms. I'll cheer you on now. We're talking my sports. Do we have glitter seminar for how to apply glitter to be a cheerleader. Let's do that. Yeah let's talk about the real hard hitting issues No no teasing to cheerleaders. They're way more athletic than i am. Too so kudos to them. Yeah but that's a lot of stuff to talk about disney wise. It's like disney's always up to something. It seems to be their mo they're always up to something. And i appreciate that. It keeps our jobs. Interesting keeps my life interesting. Keeps us in things to talk about right. There were just watching the pre show. Yeah yeah nobody really wants that. Unless you sit an out of town tryout for the broadway play right. 'cause the new lights on the anyway avenue lights on the spaceship earth. They were testing that from this week and somebody took some video of it and posted online and it does look absolutely phenomenal cool. Oh yeah which is i. Guess that's all. I can say about it for now until the anniversary and browse round. Don't give spoilers totally that just when we talking about oak. Yes so how. We talked much about the space twenty restaurant app. Opening it up Just when we talked about how everything kind of got put on the backburner One everything shut down. I think that's the most read talked about. I'm not really sure why. I decided that i was attached to this restaurant but seemed very excited about right and then i was like why exactly this one of all rescued like hi. It's it's totally. Don't like heights and i didn't think about that because that's really what the experience is supposed to be right like you go and you go to twenty miles up right very similar to like the The spacecraft star cruiser hotel transporting you to a different place. That's what they're trying to do with the same thing with the space rest space. You twenty restaurant They were going to open. And then it was delayed delayed and then it was going to open on february twenty at twenty twenty. I believe ray and wasn't that the original plan february second twenty twenty. I believe did not work out. Did not shockingly. That didn't happen. I'm not sure what went wrong. Yeah like i it so all of that is to say it still has yet to open. It's not opened yet. But they did have finally announced. It will be opening for the fiftieth anniversary. Also and then they said actually. We're ahead of schedule. And it's going to be opening in mid september. Oh so even sooner than we expected which is probably good so that will be fully operational before we have all the crowds of the twentieth. Well do you think that this is like a dry run for the hotel for them to make sure that the technology is working because like you said. It is very similar. And you're going to get up in there. You're basically in like one of those rotating restaurants but a double layer so the outside looks like you're in space I've i have correct me if i'm wrong. I believe that's what they wanted to do with the star. Wars hotel also is. Have you been your rooms but when you look out you don't see orlando xactly space so i wonder if this is kind of like a tester to see if this effect is going to hold up work. Yeah i was wondering the same thing too. Because i didn't even think about the fact like gosh. Wouldn't that be cool. They actually does transport you in a way that you feel like you've done it. Yeah you know. That's the goal right. That's the goal. It'd be cool for does because i think like if i remember the the concept you get into almost an elevator type space that's round and there's a there's a viewing port in the floor and they threw a mixture of effects. Make it look and feel like you're going up and then you're you're in space apparently there's even a porthole above the top of that where you walk in also so like the what you see above you as you can see yourself like approaching the restaurant area. Also that's five hundred twenty feet up in the air. I really hope that in fact works because they'll be funded go. It is a premium experience. Obviously which means expensive i. I don't even know what sure plan on spending on a night like that. I assume it's probably going to be something like a Stretching room on steroids kind of thing where there probably is some movement involved just enough to make you feel like everything's real. Yeah i hope so. Hopefully it's not like that mission to mars thing that makes people sick spinning out of centrifuge or you're go flying off. You're you're able. It's the wall. Everybody's strapping we're spending. You put your seatbelt on. Ener recipe vomited iffy. Such mass rapidly spinning restaurant. I'm super excited. I hope that one day we actually get to experience the restaurant. Maybe twenty twenty two will experience twenty twenty ranked. We'll get up there. And i'll pretend to push you off and pull you back and be like h alive series scream and then we'll get kicked out of the whole of the restaurant for housing has seen completely to. Yeah but lots of things coming but we have some things going to you even imagine shocking again. Lots of lots of businesses. Lots of Things did not make it through the pandemic as far as staying openness concerned and one of those Unfortunate casualties is going to be the nba experience at disney springs disney springs. It was disney springs placed request which i never saw no and it was opened for like that thing was being rebuilt down there for. I'm not even kidding. Years right. it was open for roughly fifteen minutes like just long enough for them to have the media. Come in and be like what is this and then it closed basically. Yeah i think they said seven months in total operational time and they invested just millions of dollars into experience rebuilding and then And then all of the like. I said i think he was literally being built for like two or three years. It was being built. Yeah i felt like a long time and then for to only be open seven months. That's just crazy is just baffling to me but even when it opened we said like what yeah like. I don't know but now there's close. I'm sad although the people that like we're going to enjoy it have fun time with it. Well here's the thing is. We watched a video of someone kind of doing a tour of the nba experience. Yes because it's probably not something that appeals to either one of us specifically never would we go I i have enough performance anxiety. Shooting baskets like in our own private driveway basketball hoop. I can't imagine being in front of crowds of orlando people trying to shoot baskets or i would probably have a heart attack in the process. Greenwich twelve year olds. That could actually play exactly. Yeah but there are people who are really enjoy that kind of thing and enjoy getting professional feedback in that kind of stuff. That could be fun for them. And you're right. They probably a lot of money building this out millions of dollars for seven months and now it's just going to be closed. Indepth i mean this is closed permanently. But you don't know what's going to go there you know. I'm beginning to feel like this building is going the same way as the rotating theater. Disneyland where they just can't keep anything in their super cursed. Yeah it's like a cursed space. Poor disney quest curse.

But i can't because we love krill so much disappointment even more than you're like well i have to. It's time to watch. The disney movie was logical. Krill wash wartime. And that's that's coming out on disney plus like in a week or so too so you can just watch it on their. But if you haven't already gotten it so And obviously we are not the only people that loved it because they plan on cruelty to Electric boo blue. Whatever they're calling and emma stone has signed on to play cromwell again. Oh that's awesome. Which i'm really excited about that. It's about time that disney really worked on their anti heroes and kind of had fun with a purse like she wasn't a villain per se but she wasn't a good person writer. Yeah so. I like the gray area that the between the black and white that crew ella lives in. Yeah that's like okay. Maybe she's not always right and maybe she's not always right in the head but at least she is who she is. It's so true. Do you think they're gonna do they. Leave room for thomas to come back at all. I mean she went to jail so she technically not. Oh spoilers i guess. But she's not technically dead so sure she can come back. I'd be down for that. So we're excited to see emma stone comeback right. Of course i mean you know. I was worried about her and her career. I didn't know she had one after. Wow i'm only kidding. It's kind of like saying lawrence has worry you know she's made enough money. That doesn't need to work exactly none of these things that you wish. They don't need to but yet they'll always have want that's true good life but we did talk about somebody who is probably not coming back to disney. I know right this what happens. Miss scarlet johannesen We talked about how she was in the process of suing disney over breach-of-contract down which was pretty shocking releasing black widow on streaming service before ad simultaneously to being in theaters and that was in breach of contract for the and all the message that is very messy. And i and i said i was like. I don't know why we didn't discuss this before. Now i feel like everyone knew that this was happening. Why wasn't this discussed prior to now. And why wouldn't they have worked something out right. Felt like everybody else did. Yeah uh-huh and almost immediately after we discussed it. Last time i was reading up on things. And bob idir came out with a comment on it which i thought was interesting. And apparently scarlett and her team did go and talk to disney prior to suing and bob agar said. I don't know why a compromise couldn't be reached to avoid a lawsuit. Yeah but it feels like a failing to not have fixed this prior to this point so he agreed with you he did which is just my way of saying. I should be in charge of disney. Obviously yet right. I don't like i always. I'm always nervous. About putting such respect onto an industry leader bob eiger because inevitably every single time you do. They disappoint you like you. Don't wanna put too much weight on them because it sadly people in that position have to make hard decisions and they do things that you don't agree with thing wish that there was a better outcome for muslims but he seems to be a person who you know from what we see from him he always seems to stand up for what is the right thing to do and always seems to work out really really well for him in the company doesn't avila way it does feel that way and i feel like disney has been At i don't think anyone would refute. This has been some of the most successful years for disney under acre my buying up star wars and marvel at just leering. Everything in the entertainment industry are They've made a lot of money under And you know it goes to show that good. Bit good is good business. People make good business choices and And sometimes doing what is right is the right thing to do. Like sometimes companies like. Oh i know that's the right thing to do but we can't do it because of x. y. and z. And i like the fact that bob is saying no. This doesn't feel like it should be necessary and it feels like something that could and should have been settled outside of court. Yeah i just don't see why it wasn't you know we're seeing enough you know if i knew how to read. I would totally read his book. Books on tape books now. I just had a cassette player shift. But didn't you say that there are rumblings that shape pag may be offended by it and may end up leaving the company over it. Oh i did not hear that specifically. But i bet he is a little bit. I bet his feathers are ruffled. Because you don't step into that position if you don't think that you know what you're doing right and if you don't demand respect and that's probably just the disney of people make of that part of the court of public opinion likes to decide things really quickly. Yeah and go ha like these superlative kind of headlines where it's like it's the worst thing that's ever been said about a disney ceo. Ever before he must retire. You know like it goes over the top like that a little bit I bet did ruffling feathers And hopefully it's enough to get them to settle in a way that's agreeable to hopefully so that's hope. Yeah yeah yeah and then debt then they can move forward with the tower tear movie right. I'm pretty sure that's been effectively canceled at this point. Which is unfortunate honestly. I was looking forward to something scary But speaking of scary can we talk about some hotel prices in the parks today. Oh my gosh right. Can we talk about these horrifically scary.

"There. You are good for you. You just been hiding in random places all over the place. Well it's easy to do in a house full of box. We created box forts and things. Where do you think we've been sleeping for the last three weeks then. Box for made a made a better totes. Yeah we've managed to find sheets and totes to build a box for now good life. I'm glad we're back talking disney with you. Though there's been a lot going on in the disneyworld has there in disneyworld or just the disneyworld The disney world's. We'll go with that the whole thing. The whole the whole disney think well the gearing up their fiftieth anniversary. And so there's been a lot of announcements around that and stuff behind That's disney world shore and that's a big deal. Kent on people seem to think fifty is a long time the closer you get to it. The less long feels though. You're like fifties not that old. You know. I know nearing fifty. And it'll be celebrating me. Golden arches of sorts. Well i'll take mcdonald's for your birthday. No right does closes golden arches weekend. Air doesn't medallions. Hey whatever you wanna do if your fiftieth is fine by me makes it a party. We totally fun But we have a lot of talk about. We got stuff. That is absolutely true. Lot going on disney like disney world disney plus. Let's head into media land. Yeah you imagine. If that's how they set up disney parks media land. Could you all their movies. Stuff in one place That's pretty much what we get with with The studios right kind of yeah trying to fill out with studios the couchepin trendy you are. I know they're trying to they're trying to rebrand. And i'm supporting it okay. Is that what they're they're rebranding a to the studios. I don't think so. But i think we are. All of it is neat fandom. We've just decided. Shortage disney copyrighted. Tm will anytime. I tried to say like whatever it is now. Like i try to throw in like mgm studios and you know it's definitely not that it's not that not room hollywood studios i believe but the studios for their actual media. They've released some fun new stuff on disney plus The show what if started. I didn't expect it to be animated. Know what did you think it was going to be out by. I was going to be live remakes of partially because they think animation. I didn't realize how expensive it was until just recently and i was like. Oh wow you could easily do this on green screen. You know i guess but you'd have to get all the actors back for and that's the problem so then they can rewrite any way. They want stern. I love animation. So yeah let's do it. It kind of has like a cell shaded Comic book kind of style. They've done a couple of video games like that There's a company called tail tail games. That did one a few years ago. Called wolf among us. That look very similar to this. I like the style just fine. It works exactly how they need it to for this kind of setup which is basically changing one aspect of m. c. You story and seeing how the change would affect the rest of the story kind of thing right and they did Captain america first day. The did yeah. What if. what. If steve rogers had not become captain america. Instead peggy had become captain america. Captain carter carter and it's a fun. It's a fun kind of it's exactly. What the title says a what. If what if this had happened. What might have happened. Had this happened kind of thing. I think it works out really well. I think it's a fun kind of fan service thing to show different kinds of characters To just throw out you know fun. Fan theories about things. Because i feel like it's something that fans do a lot where they're like. Oh what do you think would have happened if this had happened instead. Oh that might have changed everything. Yeah fans talk about that stuff all the time so i think it works out well in this format. Did you like the first episode. I did it was again not really what i was expecting but then at the same time was totally what you're expecting with that kind of thing It it Is really interesting. Because they got back all the actors just not them performing it just their voices there is some continuity with it and that is true. That is what Who plays captain america. What's his name. sucres evans. He didn't he quite openly. Say i'm happy to not have to work out anymore for that noodle because it was so such torture well i think most of the superheroes have said that working out to be in these movies is pretty time intensive lots of work. And you know it's it's kind of an unnatural way to live. So yeah i think playing a superhero in cartoon form is way is i could be a cartoon in you know hero. I'm down with it. I just have to even my voice a lot and talk like this halt citizen good for them. Good job good so A new one came out today If you're listening to this on the wednesday they seem to drop on wednesday so We'll have to dive in and see what. What if something else happened. What the next one's going to be. Yeah but do you remember a couple of weeks ago. We were talking about how much. We miss hand-drawn animation and how the the art form seems to be dying yet. Quite literally Yeah i i am pleased to announce that disney plus has put some hand-drawn animation on disney. Plus is so nice to see. Isn't it. It really is for those of us older folks. We will remember that goofy had a series of cartoons where he played a character named george keefe and they were how to videos but they were all how to buy goofy kind of stuff. You know like how to raise your kids. And it's all just haphazard crazy hands and they kind of brought back the how to kind of Thing with goofy in some hand-drawn cartoons on disney plus. How many people do you think they were able to employ back by that. He thinks the added a whole staff of people they brought back on. I mean we looked at. I looked at the the a credits for it. And it is considerably shorter than some of the other productions. They've done that being said there only a minute long each so they were. It's not like a mammoth undertaking. But it still takes a lot of skill and time to make them. You know seriously so i- hundreds of hours of work for one minute right exactly. I feel like if. I just let them run constantly on my account that maybe they'll they'll understand that everyone wants hand-drawn animation back and maybe they'll make more of via so i'm just like watching them back. Nauseam john reid minutes because there's only like three little short one minute thing so they're totally. We're checking out if you're a fan of hendra animation. I think this is a good thing to go and look at and goofy and goofy right. Obviously.

"Or did i just never notice. I thought they were always all open now. Now said we're somewhere close. Yeah all right so so your main attractions are open. So the tickets will go on sale next month. So that's august. Soon as we know the date will let you know on that This is interesting. It says with an early purchase window available to guest of select. Walt disney world resort hotels. So what does that mean to you guys. You think not much you. Do you think that means well. Does that mean exactly. That's that's the way it's like. What so that makes me. What makes me say what. Yeah so is it like oh christmas. I'm tickets are going to be available. I to resort guests. Well that's what they did for the boo bash. Okay yeah that makes sense okay. They they release them. I to resort guests and then they went out to the general public. Okay so lauren. Like you said was that it was a cluster. So i hope they have a better plan. Oh because all the resort are like. I gotta get my tickets before they're sold out. It creates us didn't do it online. It was a call in situation. Oh my god. Which was was a night i spent my. I was in disney. I spent an entire day on the phone and get them for. Because that's something that. I usually tell clients to grab because it's easier them to grab things in their my disney experience accounts and then i'm picking and choosing. What client get something. I and i don't like to do that when it's a big groups thing like that where it's released to everybody at once so i had my clients and by the end of the day i was getting them for everybody. I was just like just send me your info. What you want and i'll get it because i'm holding it. I threw it threw it out to the wind. I'm like forget it. Let me just try to get it. And we got it for everybody that wanted it. It's like nineteen eighty seven called in one it's booking method. I'm really hoping they do it online this time because that was terrible way to do that makes sense so i guess what's interesting is what's not in this announcement which we sort of talked about a little bit before we started recording. "Much it for the fourth of july i think not bad We're excited for new things coming out down the road here. Were always excited for Disney hinting at new movies. New things New parks new additions to parks the disney fandom. We always like talking and pretending like we know what's going on when we don't see the new nancy coming out now though. It is nice after a year of knowing that. You're not gonna hear anything. Yeah it's nice for them to be like no we are doing things. That's very exciting literally. They repainted a castle. We lost our minds lost. Yeah for sure. And we're super excited for the the celebration down in florida. Maybe we'll be able to get down there some time and see what the celebrations allah boot. Here's hoping but one thing that they're not doing more of hendra animation stuff. We've talked about this before right. Yeah we'll probably talk about it next week. Oh you're trying to cut me off. Yeah things to say you telling me to stop okay. Well think about this then for next week. Everybody do you think that hand-drawn hand-drawn animation needs to come back to disney. Or is it long gone. "I don't know i think this is kind of the new. The new thing that disney is doing is they're bill. They're they're having a signature ride. And teaming an area bob but it's really just an area around a single ride even with cars land. It's amazing right. That i think it i think cars line is basically perfection of land and there's only three writes in that entire land. Yeah there's three rides in there and they they run the gamut from super fast to medium to full family kind of attractions and then they do have stores in there but they don't. It's not like an embarrassment of stores compared to the number of attractions in the area. In my opinion yeah. Because when i go to toy story land At the studios. I don't feel like there's no. I guess i mean and i guess there's enough rights. They're they're they're also three. There are three rights there also Which is great but they also have I'm trying to think of the stores. I think they have one food kiosks there and they were getting ready to do the new barbecue round up. Oh write another restaurant opened yet. And i guess for us. It doesn't really feel like they're getting new rights because we have yet to be able to stand in line for Slinky dash. Oh the other slinky dog dash. We haven't been on that right yet because you know it's forty five minutes in bright sunlight and you're just like yeah. I don't know what they were thinking with that line. Why would you. Why would you in in this day and age. Make a line for a ride. Literally just a pavement bus ie defense offense for the entire length of the right the the line. Why would you do that now. You know better. You theme your your your lines so that people don't mind standing in them for a while. Yeah and then the mid midway menia Right was already there. They just right hugh around to the other. Part of the land right and then the saucers. I absolutely love that right but it's the maitre ride. Yeah it's just another like family ride kind of thing though that so i guess that's fine but really so you know you add it all up and you're like i don't know what there is to this land that i haven't already well and you know i'm i. I fully understand that. Not everything is going to be set up for us as adults like kind of the ideas that toy story land is really more for families with a wide range of kids ages. You know the the coaster is pretty simple. It's it's safe for you to take kids on of a certain age. If not you have the saucers and then the whole family can go on. The midway. Mania ride Maybe not all understand and do what they're supposed to do. But you can all go on it and it'll be fun anyway you know that's very true and the land does really serve his purpose very very well. Yeah so it's it's incredibly so for them like that's a good thing to do. But that's that's really kinda the recipe of opening the new lonzo's only to add two or three and the disney recipe forever. It's just you know new to me is. I'm seeing him open now right there. Yeah it's their most recent method So it'll be interesting to see what goes into paris. What they are what they are expanding on what might just be replication of what we have currently Sometimes you know we are now just barely getting ready to ride which we opening october down here in florida That was already started in paris. So you know sometimes things go back and forth and sometimes they get new things before we do because right they can use many our way. They are using though the expansion budget which i think this is incredibly interesting too that they it's going to be. The expansion is three times the original opening cost of the park row. Which i think is absolutely like it's intriguing to me though that like you go okay. We're gonna open parking get it started and then we're gonna use the money that the park makes actually expand on the park that you're going to yeah so that you can fund it that way and have grown built over time we like. That's kind of a great business model yell except for the fact that sometimes if you don't put enough into the park to begin with you're not going to make your money and other parks have to support it You know the problem with california adventure at i was people like this is not a disney park and definitely worth going to and i think it definitely suffered and other parts definitely had to pick up the slack for that one so that they could even make it a destination for anybody. Yeah and the studio. The walt disney studios and peres. That park has been really. I mean like laughable right it's been almost been laughable for the last decade that has been open well like i said peres disastrous opening really caused a ripple effect to the entire company cancelled a of things as a matter of fact the only reason they opened walt disney studios in paris is because they were they had an agreement in place with the local government that they would be opening a second gate within a certain amount of years or they would lose their land or lose the rights to land or something low so they open studios just because they had to legitimately they had to or they were gonna lose land and we're gonna lose the ability to open a second gay. They're like okay. We'll open one. Here's this they're welcome so it's amazing that we've they're finally going back and correcting all of the problems and making it an actual second gate now so good for them and like the frozen land there. That's going to be absolutely legendary. It's going to be super goto. And yeah they're gonna fix the boat problem in their frozen which is nice. Because the first time we went on frozen. It was the most uncomfortable ride ever. Dad like thirteen adult squeezed onto a bench seat. There was made to fit up to parent a child really fun like it should not be allowed that you can sit on the edge of the boat and thank goodness it. Was you not me on the edge because but literally was like you felt like you were sitting on the edge of the boat and the lap of the person next to complete all that it was very tight and uncomfortable for sure razi crazy ride but i think it's mostly because the people that were working there maybe weren't counting closely as they should or maybe i don't know maybe in paris people are used to being really close to each other but as americans we have to have face to spread out and i was very tightly in there and there was like a year and a half after the right open but they were still trying to get as many people as possible. Yeah i think. We've i've asked you now if given the chance. Maybe i don't know if we push our way into no. They told us we had to go on that right but in the future. I don't know that i would. I would just because they have to load so quickly. Really the only have like three seconds to get you on the boat and off the you just stand. Wait for no no. We'll wait for the next one. No no do you see the number of people in front of us. We are not getting on with these people. I'll look like extra big you know. I'll like spread out really wear puffy coat look extra big puffy coated up. Okay whites i feel like i'm this. Embalming mino- man's you're like i belong here in frozen in my giant puffy puffy coat. Yeah so that's pretty.

"The cone. Basically a salad and a cone also sounds awful war. Well they had something here though right. They had one that had mac and cheese in it which i think works. Oh yeah of course. That would work but i also brought up pita bread where you have a whole pocket that you could just put stuff in like or cow zones that they could make fairly easily. There are other things that are contained. That people are familiar with the work. That i don't know outside of just some novelty. I don't know the hand which really served much of a purpose. Yeah fills and i do feel like you would get pretty messy too. Even though in theory is trying to make it more convenient and stopped the mass. I'm thinking that in theory only watch. How many people drop ice cream in the park. Can you imagine them dropping tuna salad in the park. That'd be even worse yet. I don't think i could ever ice cream in florida. In the sense it melts almost instantly. Just like me and olaf we. Three of us all melt. Put me in summer and you'll be a melted to have salad but maybe from home maybe from palm with you wanna make mac and cheese turn it into a hand which give it a try spree glance and bacon. Whatever you do. Yeah why not. Give me fat but parks wise. There's been some information coming out now. Not about the hand which. Unfortunately they're not talking that at all that to walt disney studios in paris. It's one of the only things that are not ringing because it feels like they're doing a lot over there now i have had a sore spot for disneyland. Paris forever ruined my life. You know not to be dramatic but they because of the calamity that was disneyland. Paris a lot of things got cancelled right. Yeah and They kinda got their come up with the disney studios in paris which has been called one of the worst disney parks ever one of the worst theme parks ever. Oh yeah across all everything And we talked a lot about how california adventure was so bad when it first opened his little clunky not even close to his bad as walt disney studios. Paris apparently like well. Because i seem to remember that there were there. Were people taking the initial tour. And they're like okay. So when did we get out into the parks like over there now and as there like it looks like a bunch of gray building. Slick why would you build a theme park that literally looks like a backlog and that was high end disney executives that were there dry. They're like this. Is it so now. They're they are Pumping some life into disney studios over. Paris sounds amazing. Yeah they're going to double the size of the of the lands so the park is going to be twice as big basically like s overnight as soon as they get done with it and they're adding all kinds of things to it The avengers campus They're going to be adding an event. They get their own adventure. Campus area look at them and they're also Their version of the rock and roller coaster is also being switched to the iron man. Ray so that's very exciting the ad so it's gonna be a pretty unique right with that. Yeah since they're going to be reviewed faming that whole that whole ride and be and that's going to be part of venture's campus. That's gonna be really exciting for them. Yeah lucky oh good times. Good times. They also recently bought the fantasma Floats from tokyo sees from from tokyo. Tokyo disneyland's hey we do you remember those floats. They're the ones that are kind of also like the shape of a cone upside down. And they have. Like the sorcerer mickey hat float correct. Yeah it was totally that and they had like. They have a lot of them too. Yeah they everything and they have like inflatable things that come up out of him and stuff. Yeah so whatever that means like they bought those from Tokyo because that's a joint venture with disney. They don't actually own that park. And so apparently disney those floats from them and really do you think they're going to get fantasma. Can that park. I mean they may not get buying all those floats to me means that there probably will do something like fantasma and they might as well call it phantasmagoric. The the people of paris may not know exactly what that means at this point. But it could be fun nighttime. Water show So i'm assuming that they're getting a lake yes. They must be and flows versatile. You could really build an entire show around those floats Easily you could say that floats. Who it and change it up because they have like they have all the stuff just built in for you to just have a fun show with them regardless of what they're doing and wonder why paris's nighttime like right now and they have a fantastic there. I don't think so. Because i don't think that they have a lake to do that on. Yeah i think maybe they just do the fireworks show. If i'm not mistaken research well research It also looks like they're getting is the resistance which everybody is just clamoring to get on at all times now leg anytime you see anybody going to any park like oh my gosh. I'm trying so hard to get on. Raza the resistance voice. I think we started talking. I'm like yes. I want to go on and so bad. I know that that. I didn't think that was going to be right. They were gonna end it because they were talking about adding star wars land but was interesting about that. Is that space. Been quietly removed from all of the advertisement about the park expansion. Oh part of the land has been you know taken off. And i wonder like a couple of different things is like they've had to regroup because of the you know the financial situation that they may be in now But it also makes me think that it could be you know it's interesting to think about what star wars galaxies edges like. So far like did you know. I don't know that we have an indication if it's a good blander not there's a lot of people are basically saying there. It still struggles a bit come. Well i know that when we went This was before rise of the resistance was opened down here in florida I was Underwhelmed by the land like the theme was very impressive disney does steaming very well And smuggler's run. The ride was super fun. We had a great time on their Even though i i realize that you need to play more video games because you were terrible at steering i tell you. I didn't know that's what he's doing. We almost died. I had what i was doing and it was super fun. But then there's when we went there was just the one ride and then you were just surrounded by stores like everything was shopping experience and i was like you know what it's fun but the the the levels seem a little bit off you know what i mean. Yeah so. I'm wondering if other places are going. Look we can't build an entire land around a single ride and thirty stores. People just aren't going to be happy with that. We'll have to double check the time line. Though because didn't they opened that it would have been like twenty nineteen so is basically opened for almost a year before the pandemic shutdown sure and they opened it after the christmas season like into january or something opening on the off season which i thought was really interesting. Yes they purposely. Waited till after christmas and open it up Or whatever the case may be one that one. But then so. I don't know i don't know that we still have. We still all of these years later. Had no idea if it's actually a good land or not doing well. And here's the thing is. I know a lot of people like i said that. Want to gun rises the resistance and it is a major goal for a lot of people but people don't usually spend all day in that area mostly because there's not enough to do obviously but.

"Are we ready to toxin disney. After the thirteen day weekend everybody just took the fourth of july weekend. It lasted thirteen for some reason. It feels like everyone took a month off over the weekend. Doesn't you literally okay. So this is the thing too is like i'm used to it around christmas. Where every. Christmas comes circling around ad. Everybody's entire week right. Yeah the fourth of july really surprised me. Li literally had people leaving like last wednesday and they're showing up like today to say yeah leg day. You're like that's a that's a long break to take in the middle of the summer. But you know if y'all the great hating the great thing is is that you can go somewhere again. Just exciting i think. Oh my gosh the traffic. Every everybody's on the right now. Well andrew. I've heard that atlanta is pretty notoriously bad for traffic. And you don't really think about it until you're actually in it. Oh yuck this isn't very much fun. Tell you what Hope the fireworks worth it. Totally right oh yeah. Yeah i hoped to. Yeah the disney folks. Asia love their fireworks because just as we expect or not as expected but remember few weeks ago. We were kinda like ooh wouldn't that be. Great of disney brings back just in time for the fourth of july and obviously in these totally what they did. They released him. We are so smart. You guys i'm so happy. I am so happy that they were totally like. Hey guess what. We're going to bring them back like a day or two before before the fourth of july and we totally did right. We watched the entire livestream of What was the nighttime. Show not wishes it's Happily ever after and it was happily ever after. I love a good firework show. Disney has spoiled me for all other fireworks shows at this point. Yeah like you see a disney showing. You're like this is amazing and then you just go to like a local park doing fireworks and you're like well i mean yeah they're still pretty but there's not the disney magic involved. Is that a joke. You made this last week. That said what a what a disney fans call local fireworks amateur night. Oh joke i made. But that's a good one. No i did see people posting Things like fourth of july is when disney fans go see other people's fireworks and just go a fair to love a good local fireworks show though even if it's less ideal you know. I i if you can see some of the effort i'm happy. You know what i mean well and you like sitting directly under them where you might get singed by falling fireworks ash. I love you love to sit in that danger zone where you people are afraid. You're gonna sue them. You're so close legitimately. Oh it's amazing. Isn't the smell or the sound that you like of the fireworks. Every single part of it. I literally had like The camouflage army style pants that i used to wear out to clubs all the time. Sure and we'd be watching fireworks and it would like follow on my pants and like burn small little holes. She was amazing. And then i wanted to do it for me to look more authentic. Look more real. You know so great. It was the best. We went rolling through campfires dry holes fans movie. I was great shift. She's but disney. They do amazing things with their fireworks. I mean the reason there are. Fireworks were so amazing. Because they've put so much effort into them they have like they have them timed and they have them Set to detonate at very specific times and they can detonate them on q. And things very impressive. Yes mar small little microchips in those radiofrequency can that they can trust them to blast. Read it exact time. It's amazing it's a. It's a firework show. And a half. If you haven't seen the disney firework show. You should definitely treat yourself to a youtube video. And just see how impressive they are. A lot of them are lit up or they use them to get to the sky with air power rather than like lighter instead of black powder. Yeah they use air cannons to get them in the air basically so you don't see them shooting up even explode. Yeah which is very impressive. But that's basically what we usually start with now. Support the instant extra bonus bonus for all of you We usually start out talking about media stuff because disney is a media company We did some digging this week Because last week you were telling us about how you couldn't find things on disney plus Things that were advertised were not showing up. We were very confused as to why we couldn't change our our age rating remembering all this. Of course i am. Yeah and i was like i don't know what on earth you're talking about and i'm surprised no one else's talking about this and i googled around and i wasn't seeing anybody else talk about this until i realized that what we had done is we were using a vpn which put us into a country where Stars is available on disney. Plus folks if you haven't done. This is the new way to travel. Basically you just like look of country flags and you're like we like going to london today which we hoping do awfully british. Oh do you think. Mary poppins a so fear that i'd like. Oh sweet didn't where ikea's from so it's like this the sheer flag and i'm like oh. Let's just hear lag. Geez no this is not right. Close dealt listen to this for actual fact yeah. We are not geography teachers Five so stars. I did not know. This stars is a feature on disney plus in I think most of europe. I believe Because they do not have access to the hulu stuff that disney owns there. So it's something that we've talked about before. Is that a lot of the more adult oriented entertainment that disney has control of They do usually put on hulu and that includes like their tv stuff that they now own. The fox cartoons that they own. That's usually all on hulu at this okay. This is starting to make lot more sense then and still the stars stuff. is for those european countries. Where apparently they don't have access to that over their copyright laws so weird is so weird on this new global world that we live in all the time right. Yeah like everything. I went to go. There was another piece of software is trying to figure out today and literally it was like. Please let your home country like you always shows up. Yeah and then. It's a hundred and ninety three different countries long. Like i just always underestimate the size of the world's i always forget there somewhere something outside the atlanta traffic out there so it cleared up some stuff for me though. Because you're like we can't find this and this isn't here and this isn't there and i'm like i don't understand why this is not showing up and what is. Why would it advertise this. you know. come to find out. We were technically in london so it was advertising things to us that we wouldn't normally have access to But they have. That's a really fun stuff on disney plus apparently in europe.

"Do you think you should relax. On a walt disney world vacation. I'm so d'you relaxed. The question is how can you not relax. A walt disney world vacation. Don't go telling me that pounding. The parks is relaxing relaxing. So i'm talking about truly relaxing. Quiet not necessarily quiet time but things that go. Well just give it like this. Oh i'm at the upcoming five billion look at me. I'm so relaxed. I'm walking up mainstream. Lick me. I'm so relying on talking about fake relaxed for pitchers. Excuse me so. let's talk about. How do you do it. How do you relax on a walt disney world vacation and if you're really are an experienced traveler you know what i'm talking about. I want to hear your tips this week as well as we go out on social media at nineteen twenty three main street likely always to but my number one and i think the most important tip of all and i say it again and again and again is do not i repeat. Do not know. I'm gonna say over schedule. That's right. do not over plan because if you have yourself scheduled to death you will definitely not relax. And that's why. I say that's a newbie mistake. I just love how you do you. Just the biggest hypocrite just ever know. I always leave time. I never go to the park for eight hours ten hours. I'll go for three or four at the most out of time and then we head back. We're usually back will usually eat lunch in the park. If we're going in the morning which normally we especially now with no fast passes. Does it count if it's broken up. If what's broken up the time in the parks because for example you can go to animal kingdom for four hours in the day and then go to magic kingdom later for extra magic hour this because you are proving my point and what are we doing in between relaxing. La i think it's more stressful. When you're not at the party being a breather. We'll try to think like a normal person. And now i'll admit there are people who can found the parks and not relaxed but for the average especially new disney traveler. You can relax and not only can you you should
