"PlayStation oh that is a PlayStation that's a PlayStation trophy glass that's correct it's correct bless oh yeah I don't like how long it took to you to identify that I mean I don't usually learn how long your water how long you had identified me on a billboard outside what distracted me was Roger Roger and my camera just standing outside of the the parking lot with a camera and I'm like oh what's going on here are you finally filming the kind of funny documentary and then I parked my car like ready for a prank yeah and like Rogers like coming up to me my car with a quick camera and I'm like all right this is getting too much I don't know what's going on and I look up and I'm like oh shit okay I see what this is about all right let's start off with story 1a Sony expects PS5 sales begin outpacing PS4 by the end of 2023 this is Ryan Dinsdale at IGN Sony expects PS5 sales begin outpacing the PS4 by the end of 2023 as it gets back on track following component shortages that hardware production last year shared in a business presentation Sony compared the PS5 sales with the PS4s at this stage in its lifecycle and said it expects PS5 to catch up with the PS4 by August 2023 and begin to exceed it in sales by December the PS5 outsold its predecessor in its first year on the market but sales declined due to the component shortage that was only declared over in January 2023 Sony has since ramped up the number of PS5 consoles that shipping considerably more than doubling its 2022 numbers in most months this year so far to meet what is calling unprecedented demand the presentation also revealed that the PS5 is projected to begin out outpacing the PS4 and all of Sony's key metrics by February 2024 these include console user spend full game unit sales gameplay hours monthly active users and monthly active consoles right this is on track to possibly be one of the most successful PlayStation consoles of all time does it feel like it to you 100 % I feel like you know the PlayStation 5 success has only been hampered by shortages right of course everything was going on with COVID being a problem led to video game sales being great but then it was components that were hard to get right and we were find ourselves back in that we situation we're in the WII Nintendo we situation where you know if you saw PlayStation 5 on the market in a Walmart that was like striking gold right you were grabbing them and bringing them home and be like somebody will need this I think we literally did that we did that multiple times yeah where it would be that thing where it's like if I got the email of like oh we're doing a direct thing in 15 minutes and you're cute I'm like okay I'd queue up and I would buy them and then inevitably immediately find homes for those PlayStation fives because it was that hard so it is exciting and interesting to see them on the cusp of this to say you're about to start outpacing the PlayStation 4 is not unheard of or unexpected but it is a great sign that we finally turned the shortages over and start talking about the fact that of course when you go to the Wikipedia for you know the best -selling game consoles of all time PlayStation 4 is currently sitting in the number five slot like so we're talking about you're gonna start out pacing that and be on track to you know where do you end up with the PlayStation 5 like does it stick around long enough to supersede PlayStation 4 what about when we inevitably get the redesign of the PlayStation 5 what about inevitably when we get the PlayStation 5 Pro how long are we gonna ride out this lifecycle as you are you know to be here three years into it right give or take you you know you're finally you're seeing people give up on okay we're doing a cross -gen game not everybody but lots right what we expect today I think out of all these first parties is going to be if you are doing the major triple -a game a ghost to a blast of us maybe not even last of us depending on how they're gonna do a live service thing but you're doing it one of the big triple -a single players we're gonna see it be like this is PlayStation 5 exclusive similar to what we saw with of course being on both platforms Horizon Bernie sure is only being on PlayStation 5 right you're starting to see them drop all these things because PlayStation 5 is available you need to go buy it and even though there is such an install base for PlayStation 4 it's about building this future and so to see it actually working and then be excited about it and the you know complete opposite story of what Xbox's messages has been is as always interesting and fascinating to watch in this industry yeah it's for me it begins to make some things that we make fun of make a lot more sense right when you look at the last is part one and how we were like we do not need a last this remake why are you making a last this remake and you look at oh man this is doing this is selling way more numbers than the ps4 a lot more people are gonna have their hands on these new consoles than they had on the previous ones during the pandemic we talked about how gamers have increased in numbers right people came through they people were picking up consoles because they had nothing else to do while at home most people aren't just gonna get into gaming and then all of a sudden go back to whatever other hobby right like important right it may not be that you're locked in but it is going to be that you fell in love with it and now you see this HBO show you're like you know what maybe I do want to go play exactly and I the horizon remake is another one we make fun of right and that's another one to out we're out even say more so than way more so than last was well we don't need a horizon one remake when that horizon TV show hits yeah there's gonna be a group of people that are new to the ecosystem that want to check out that original game and if they have a bright new technically you know ps5 looking game that is gonna be the way way to sell it to them so yeah I think this starts to make that stuff makes sense and also I think this just naturally makes sense just for the fact that video games are on an upward trajectory in terms of people coming through in general I really I really realized it a lot earlier this week in our conversation about Tekken where I went in my second versus Street Fighter conversation I went online I was like you know what let me do some research right and I looked up the Tekken 7 numbers industry fighter numbers let me start talking out of my ass to do some fact yeah let me do some fact -checking right and you look at the Street Fighter five numbers the Tekken 8 numbers I talked about this yesterday the fact that Street Fighter 5 sold 7 million by December Tekken 8 had sold 10 million by this last December I went back further and looked at Street Fighter 4 and Tekken 6 the ps3 and Xbox 360 games and those games sold 3 million and 3 .5

"Rewrite it after this. Wasn't that Shang song? Was that Chang song? I think so. Chang song is looking young. Oh, I'm liking the blue accents on the dragon there. It's in our blood. September 9th. September 19th. There's a lot of pre order to get Shang tsung. And beta access. Oh, I'm surprised for how much Chang song is in the trailer. It's not he's not like a straight up character. You gotta make that idea. How you feel it's pretty damn cool. Yeah. You know, I mean, we keep talking about this new age of fighting games, Street Fighter 6. We have tech and 8 on the way, but now boom. We have Mortal Kombat come in this year, September, feels right. I think that's a good enough gap away from a Street Fighter being in early June. And on top of that, Mortal Kombat is kind of at a different area as well, especially because people like me love the nether realm single player stuff so much. And from what I'm seeing here, this is kind of what I was saying last week. I'm looking forward to. A little bit simpler of a story, kind of like less time traveling and less kind of like, everything in the kitchen sink, this seems a little bit more paired down. We're not getting too many characters. Granted, this is the first CG trailer. But from the vibe of this, this seems very story narrative focused and I'm in. It seems paired back and simple in a way that I like. And I'm with you that I was a bit nervous and apprehensive about how much the time stuff was going to play into this game because that was a big factor of the last game. When you build in a lot of time travel stuff, things can get really convoluted and really weird and suddenly everything starts to mean nothing because cool time travel is coming in and rearranging everything. This seems like it's a bit more straightforward and I know we got we got some comments on time in the beginning of the trailer and they're like a few illusions to that. But it seems like that might not be what this game is revolving around and the way that the last Mortal Kombat is revolved around it. I think what's interesting here is that them calling it Mortal Kombat one implies reboot, but it feels like more of a sequel. Well, that's the thing is I feel like this is kind of like a semi ultimate comic situation where it is a reboot, but it's also just like in the same. It is part of the multiverse, whatever. This seems to be like a new universe that I'm a little, I don't remember, I'm hazy on some of the lore of where the last DLC stuff ended, but fun king. Fire gun. The blue king at the end of aftermath, he was basically reshaping the timeline because I mentioned this is him the new timeline. Yeah, 1000 total combat one timeline, whatever. So yeah, because of that, I imagine that's kind of just the setup to keep it in line with the rest of them. But then I don't think they're going to touch on that much throughout the story. Maybe at the end of it post credit teas or something. Well that's back to it. I'm down for the interesting thing is that yeah, so more combat 11, the proper game ended with chronicle was erasing the timeline up into up until the point of the game because she wanted to reshape the timeline. It's always, you know? Smoking on that kronika. But fire God Liu Kang comes through the sun king. Sunk. Not far off. But yeah, it comes through, defeats her. And then I think depending on how you end it, it's like it's you raiden and katana that are reshaping time and recreating the timeline in a proper way. But then aftermath happens, Shang tsung and I think right in a fujin come through and then that begins that question and then at the end of that game, of course, you have to fight Shang tsung. Or actually something you fight Liu Kang depending on which side you choose. But I assume the canon, the canon is going to be as Liu Kang, you defeat Shang tsung and then the cutscene that plays after is Liu Kang creating this new timeline, but then you cut to this martial arts school and what looks more like Mortal Kombat one. It has more of the vibes and more combat one. And it's people doing martial arts and then you transition into a room with Kung Lao and this is Kung Lao chilling and then fire got a Liu Kang shows up and it's like I've chosen you as my champion and that's pretty much where it cuts. And so you imagine that that's what this story is going to be. It's going to be the God Liu Kang training up Kung Lao or at least having Kung Lao represent him, probably represent earth, I guess. Different factions here, even the way the trailer was set up of multiple characters in different groups. And they even tease the whole thing of like, will you fight against each other or fight together and then it kind of seems like at the end the VO at least kind of was like, no, we're gonna fucking fight. But I do think it's interesting to separate the characters in that fashion. And I feel like that makes sense from a NetherRealm campaign perspective where they normally do that. Bouncing between a couple different storylines and you have different fights from different perspectives. Yeah. It's super interesting that the characters that we're seeing so far are all classic Mortal Kombat characters. We're not seeing the combat kids come through. There's no Takeda or Kung Lao's cousin and then what's his name? Johnny cage's kid and then Jax's kid. We're not Jackie Briggs we're not seeing them pop up in this trailer, which makes me wonder if we see them pop up. I saw somebody mention on Twitter on trying to remember, I think it might have been ash parish from the verge who mentioned, what if those characters come through because they show up and they're like, hey, we got to get rid of this timeline because we want to exist. We're fighting for our existence. And so now you have the timeline clashing again. Again, I think that would be convoluted. I'm fine with those characters not coming back. At least in proper game, bring them back as DLC if you want to. But yeah, I like that we're getting back to basics. I like that we're getting back to Mortal Kombat one, two, three roster. Get roster for sure. Interesting in the chat, people are bringing up that on the website. There's more info saying that it's an assist fighter. So that's why actually when I want to get into. So Ryan dinsdale at IGN has this article breaking down the Mortal Kombat announcement and it reads like this. Warner Brothers games and other realm studios have officially revealed that a rebooted Mortal Kombat one will arrive on September 19th for PS5, Xbox Series X, switch and PC. Following an earnings call, earlier this year, Warner Brothers discovery and other realm announced Mortal Kombat one officially on its website and released a reveal trailer. Mortal Kombat one is the latest title in the acclaimed moral Kombat franchise developed by NetherRealm. The reads the post on the website. Quote, the game will introduce a reborn Mortal Kombat universe that has been created by fire God Liu Kang, featuring reimagined versions of iconic characters as they've never been seen before. Along with a new fighting system, game modes, bone crushing finishing moves and more. These characters so far include Liu Kang, scorpion, sub zero, raiden, Kung Lao, katana, Molina, Shang tsung, Johnny cage, and many more. Now the Rome has confirmed these characters to feature in a new story mode, but is yet to reveal which other game modes will feature in Mortal Kombat one. Pre ordering a 100

"That means snow bike Mike has taken him up and you always want a little bit more Mike in your life. Thank you to our Patreon producers, tripod plus plus, and delay in each whining. Today we brought to you by rocket money, but we'll tell you all about that later. For now, let's begin with what is. And forever will be the roper report. It's time for some news. We have 5 stories today. Just doesn't. Story number one, a PSA for you, everybody. Star Wars, Jedi survivor spoilers, have leaked online. This comes from Ryan dinsdale at IGN. Be careful out there. We're not mute stuff. Of course we're not spoiling it. Don't spoil it for anybody else out there. The highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi survivor from EA's respawn entertainment isn't out for another few days. We're just days away from him. I know. That's very exciting. But heads up spoilers have already leaked online. The leaker who appears to have been sold a copy of the game a few days early has already completed Jedi survivor and took to Twitter to share their impressions, screenshots and other details. These have also been shared on reset era, which we won't be linking to, so read or beware. The leak, which includes details about the ending, game length, the number of planets, new characters, and lots, lots more, even grab the attention of EA itself as it Star Wars account tweeted, no spoilers. That tweet for you to see there. Where they just say, no spoilers, we're beyond excited for everyone to experience Jedi survivor this week. We ask that you please be mindful of others and avoid posting or sharing spoilers. And remember, BD is watching. What do you think, Fran? You know, I'm wondering how much you mentioned a lot of stuff like, oh, number of planets and some of this stuff will probably come out in the reviews, which is tomorrow at 8 a.m. Pacific time. Is that right? It is. She can watch right here. For sure, YouTube dot com slash kind of funny names. It'll be on the games cast. It's going to be a great one. I mean, I guess we could say this that who's going to be on it right barret you want to let people know? I've got food in my mouth, Utah. It's going to be Greg Miller as our lead reviewer on this one. I'll be hosting it. We have Andy. We have blessed, and Barrett Courtney will be joining us. We have a full squad of people to talk about. Survivor really, really excited about it. But yeah, you know, I'm curious to see how much comes out in just the normal review discussion, of course, with planets. But story stuff is always like, just don't do that. Especially if you got the game early, don't be that person is all. Because even if you were like, hey, spoilers beware and you have this tweet thread. The problem is it will get spread around. People will use that divisively, and that's the problem. Some people don't even play these games. They love to find out this crap and go in streams and other and just make people's lives, you know, awful. Yeah. Absolutely. So don't make people's lives awful. Of course. That's my message for today. You know, I do think that we are in this modern era of social media and just media in general where more and more I think we're seeing the creators themselves put out messaging of like, hey, protect this experience for people. And like, come on, be cool. Which it's sad that that's where we're at. But also, it makes sense. Things have evolved in just the way people communicate. This type of messaging, I do think goes a long way, but I also like take heed to it. I feel like the fact that the people that have worked so hard in this game have to put out this messaging because there was a leak, not to get ahead of it. It's kind of unfortunate. Yeah, I am some of you know this. Some of you don't, but I am a very protective type person when it comes to spoilers. So much that I don't care how far back in time it goes, just ask first. Oh, wait, is this a spoiler for you? Don't assume, and some people are like, Fran, that is ridiculous. If you haven't watched Avengers Endgame, that's on you. And they get into this, that's on you, bro and I'm like, why? I mean, I have, by the way, but I bring this up because you may or may not remember this story. When we were doing fire team chat way back in the day, John Finney. In the middle of the show, we're talking about destiny. I don't know how it got in a marvel, and I won't spoil it, just in case. But he threw out one of the major deaths in endgame. And he's like, oh, well, so and so, and I was like, and you see my face live on the show. And he's like, oops. And then I was just, I was so pissed though. Because they ruined the point as you ruined the movie for me. Couldn't you just ask for Ben careful? Yeah, yeah. That's true. You could always be more careful. I do think it's context sensitive. And we get a lot of shit for spoiling stuff on shows. And some of it. I totally understand. Don't understand. Everyone has their different things. And that's totally fair. Personally, my stance on it is try not to ruin experiences for people. And like, you're not always going to get something away from them. Yeah, totally. And I don't want to do that. I love sharing things with people. I love seeing people experience stuff for the first time and all that. So the number one fan of the experience. But especially when people don't, for me, it's when people don't have the opportunity to have the experience. Like, right here, it's like, people that want to not be spoiled. They don't even have to want to right now. So I feel like it's like extra extra extra sensitive. I think as things go on, the sensitivity kind of drops down definitely. But definitely. But yeah, were you out with the survivor? Are you itching for it, Fran? I am. I'm just so far back in the backlog now. I guess I feel defeated. But yes, I loved Star Wars Jedi when it came out fallen order, right? Yep. And this is just survivor. Yeah, I loved it. I was super into it sort of, I don't know, it was like to me it was almost a metroid

"Rope report. It's time for some new. We have 8 stories today. Oh, wait. Start, oh, I like that one. Starting with our number one, PlayStation VR two is off to not a great start. This is right. I am shocked. Which part? There's one part. PlayStation BR two is enough to it's up to a bad start. Who could have thought? Who could have predicted this? I'm sure if somebody did predict that the audience would have been very kind to them. This is from Ryan dinsdale at IGN. Sony's PlayStation VR two was reportedly off to an underwhelming start with the virtual reality headset only expected to sell 270,000 units by the end of March. As reported by Bloomberg, the figure comes from research firm, IDC, and while 270,000 is still a lot of headsets, reports last year indicated that Sony was looking to produce 2 million PSVR two units to be sold by the end of March. Vice president of data analytics at IDC, Francisco, Geronimo, told Bloomberg that Sony would need to cut the price of the PSVR two to stop its launch from being a complete disaster. The headset, which already sits at $549 99 cents, is made even price here by the additional $499 and 99 cent cost of the required PlayStation 5, quote, consumers around the world are facing rising costs of living rising interest rates and rising layoffs. VR headsets are not top of the mind for most consumers under the current economic climate said Geronimo. Quote, I suspect a price cut on the PSVR two will be needed to avoid complete disaster. Of their new product and quote, Greg? Yeah. Is this a disaster? Well, that's hard to say. I think we all go back to, again, this is still reports that PlayStation was going to make 2 million, right? They never said they never confirmed that Sony reports last year indicated Sony was looking to produce 2 million, who knows if that's actually the case. That wasn't a shared publicly. So sadly, only PlayStation knows if it's a complete disaster. Because back with them, they're the ones who are setting what the metrics are for success and what they need to be. From our side in the industry, even if you wanted to take away from the figures here that are being pulled out right, which are, again, not official numbers from PlayStation or something like that. I would say yes, it is a disaster. I don't know, I think it's one to easily overlook because I don't think most people in our sphere expected this to be a huge success. I know that there is a very dedicated PlayStation VR two fan base. You and I both cheer for PlayStation VR two. We want it to do great. We were as excited as you could be as we heard about it and still not being wireless and yada yada yada. But what I go back to if you want to be because I have a personal stories I've shared on it, right? Of like, okay, well, we had our first emergency trip to Canada during the review period. So I left everything behind and Janet was amazing and picked up the slack and didn't reviews for us. But it was that idea that while I was in Canada away from my PlayStation away from my PlayStation VR, I was not like, I gotta get back to call the mountain. I gotta get back to what the bat I was upset that I was away from wild hearts. I wanted to go play stuff like that, right? And then even being back the other day, we were talking about it and you were like, are you gonna fish call them out? And I was like, oh, absolutely not. And I was like, you know what I mean? I don't remember the character's name. I have no connection to what was going on in the story. It's climbing and shooting arrows, which again, it does really well. I'm not taking away from those mechanics, but I'm not clamoring for that experience. We're gonna talk about today on PS, I love UXO. So Patreon dot com slash kind of fun to watch it live. Everywhere else tomorrow. We're talking about horizon one year later, right? As we're playing through forbidden west to get ready for the DLC. And goddamn, I'm having so much fun being back in that world, right? I am right now. I really like to get back and get a few more trophies and do this whole thing. There isn't even an inkling of that with me with calling the mountain. To the point of when we did the PSVR two and it was, before your eyes, I was like, this is the first must play. You know, understandably so, maybe a little bit more angry than I would like. The PlayStation VR two audience did come at me like, what are you talking about? Call them out. Grand Turismo. And I was like, I understand you, I don't think those are misplaced. I don't think those are things I'd say. Oh my God, stop everything if you have the headset and go get this thing. And that's what's killing this. And so I've said I didn't want to talk to my personal experiences, and they gave you 5 minutes on it. From a more wide take of it, I think what has been shocking isn't the right word, because I think we expected it, right? But what is the, oh man, this is not going well, is the fact that PlayStation VR two launched, I saw Paris, I saw Khalifa, I saw our friend David, I saw people tweeting about it, talking about it at launch, and then the oxygen left the room. I have not seen people talking about places you should be our two since then. And I don't even mean now weeks later. I mean, days after launch. Yeah. And so that's the whole thing. I'm just like, do you know this thing's not? They released switchback, right? Nobody could be bothered to care about it. We did the before your eyes thing. And we knew it was a gamble. Hey, let's not even put before your eyes in the title because of course that's an indie game, not many people know it. Let's talk about the first must play PlayStation VR too. That episode tanked. And this isn't me blaming. And it's just like, those are the bellwethers of, how is this thing doing? Let's take a temperature check. Do people care? No, they cared at launch because they want to know about it. And now there's this. And now there's this kind of stuff where people are going to care about this. People love being right and they love being negative and they love bringing out their knives and forks to carve up the body. I don't know what's

"Other things. You know? I imagine a different teams, but game freak is also historically very small. They need to expand. But what they're saying about working with external studios, yeah, that needs to happen to, that needs to happen in a timeline that is like relatively healthy for every studio involved. Of course, it's Pokémon. It's too big a ship, so that's never going to happen. So I can see the reasoning here of thank God we can work on something that is not dictated by a schedule by 7 different companies. Which includes game freak. They're not innocent in that. But they can make a game that just comes out when it's done, as opposed to needs to come out along with an anime and plushes and all that other jazz. Yeah. Interesting stuff. I mean, your horse races, man. Or should I solitaire? Story number 6 got a war ragnarok devs didn't realize that allies spoiling puzzles would annoy players. This comes from Ryan dinsdale at IGN. Got a war ragnarok developers, Sony Santa Monica studio didn't realize that ally spoiling in game puzzles would be annoying for players wanting to solve everything themselves. As reported by games radar, ragnarok's narrative director Matt sofas and story lead Richard grabert told min max that the feature, which fans vote voiced as a point of frustration, was an oversight of the development team. It didn't get exposed to us really until after the game came out because even when it had play test, we never saw feedback about the characters talking too much or spoiling things too quickly. The timing for the first hint was too aggressive and should have had a much longer countdown timer before something comes up. It wasn't until the game came out and I was like, well, shit. If we'd known that, we would have responded. It's not going to happen again. Despite the frustration expressed by players, the developers didn't say whether or not a patch would be released that addressed the hint system, either by slowing it down and providing an option to turn it off completely. Yeah, there's times where they talk too much in times where they're just like, I was watering them at a puzzle and didn't see the thing that they wanted me to see. It just didn't talk at all. And there's times where they talk too much during battle, because by the end of the game, I got really sick of a mirror telling me I'm on fire. I'm surprised that they got no feedback on it. I'm surprised that this is the thing of game development where you're working on something so long, you just don't see the forest for the trees. Or you don't see the individual trees, honestly. You have to have been so close this project to not know how much they were talking because it's a lot. And I love got a red rock. A 100% of that game for reasons I don't entirely understand. But that was a huge problem that I'm really surprised. They had no one in QA or something, sending some note about it. It was not a problem for me at all. And when everyone was talking about this, I remember seeing on Twitter, I was just like, oh my lord, we will complain about any. Really? But again, it's like, look, that's my opinion, and clearly other people think that I'm wrong about that. But also a lot of people. So at the end of the day, I think that this is great that this is a really honest response to, hey, we didn't get this feedback. Now we did? Yeah. Cool. We're going to address it. I think this is best case scenario overall. I think it varies from person to person, because it also probably varies depending on how you do in a puzzle. If you happen to get through all the puzzles that they would have told you the solution to fast, you probably never heard it. Or it didn't bother you in that case. I think for me, and I was like, okay, I know what to do. I just need to go do it, and there's already telling me the solution. Or I don't know what to do. I literally just walked in the room. It was like, hey, look at that thing over there. I'm like, come on guys. Yeah. Horizon much worse about it. But I guess for me, the difference is I like the characters talking got to oregano and figuring out the puzzles in ragnarok and the puzzles and got a war, aren't like these crazy sophisticated things that when I figure them out, I'm like, yeah. I did something cool. It's more like, oh, here's this puzzle room. I need to actively do things to make it all happen. Doing the thing is what's fun and rewarding to me. So that's why I'm on that side of it. So everyone was like really upset about it, which again, they clearly look at it and they're like, oh, we see what you're saying. So it's like, there is something there. And I think that even the idea of it even just being like a slider, being able to be optional of how much people are giving you hints or not. Because even in ragnarok, there are extra things you can add in the options to make it an even more streamlined experience of the option of hitting R three and it just directs you where you're trying to go. And it's like, you can turn that on or off. And I don't think it's on by default. Yeah, that should be the way the puzzles work is like press triangle for a hand. They've done that before and uncharted and stuff like that. It should have been the thing here. I can get why they think it's a little too video gamey, but it's easier than

"Then Tim dinsdale was a he was an aeronautical engineer, and he became kind of a famous Loch Ness hunter because on his after reading more than a legend that constant white book, he was inspired to go hunt for the Loch Ness monster. And on his first time out, he caught something very weird moving away from him on the lock on film. Have you seen it? Yeah, I've looked at all this stuff. Where do you think? I think some of it looks very interesting. That didn't still film in particular looks pretty interesting to me too. Yeah, agreed. I'm not going to go out there. Well, let's just say, I'll save my judgment. Save it. But in the, like I said, over the years, as technology got better, they started using this technology in the 1970s. There was a series of expeditions sponsored by academy of applied science out of a Boston and they were the first people to combine sonar because they're all already using that. Right. But sonar and underwater photography under the leadership of a guy named Robert reins, who was I love this description, a lawyer trained in physics. And they were using side scan sonar, which we've talked about before a couple of times over the years. Yeah, maybe tabloids episode. Pressure hunting or something. Or Barbie, I don't remember. One of those. But here's the idea there is you combine side scan sonar with and time it along with your underwater photography. And if you get something a picture snapped at the same time, you get a, let's call it a ding. I don't know what sound it makes, but I assume a side scan sonar dings. If something swims by. Well, no, side scan sonar, so it makes it sends out a ping or whatever, but it gets echoes back from all the different stuff that bounces off of at different rates and it creates basically like a picture of the floor of the Lake. Yeah, I just meant a ding to alert you. I was just oh, I got you. I see. Like a typewriter, right? For a microwave? Yeah, but the point is, if you have those two things that like, hey, we got a real picture and then a side scan sonar picture at the same time. Then it has a little bit more credibility all of a sudden. Yeah, and I mean, it really did. They hit something, I think, in June 1975, or sometime in 1975, they had the system going and at the same time that the sonar was showing some at least one very large object moving, they were getting photographs that when they developed showed some very odd stuff. Yeah, and this underwater photography, it's got a strobe light that you can see stuff because it is very dark. And this thing, if you look at these photos, you know, it looks like a big triangular sort of diamond shaped fin or a flipper. On a big kind of creature, but you know, it's not super detailed, but it does look like something different and interesting. Did you see the other ones that came out of that batch? Yeah, I mean, it all looks different and interesting. I'm not saying like, oh my God, look at that monster. 'cause I don't know enough about what sort of weird fish might be in that Lake. But it definitely looks weird enough to prompt attention, I think. It looks like a big bellied long necked sea monster to me.

We went at it one day girl. I know about your actresses. I am not an actress. So y'all know how is on onset shows and movies. Would you call into the effort. No no no. I've seen dinsdale movies equalize me. you know what. She chose violence. I don't know why we need to hear this story right but we didn't need to hear it first of all. If you listen to it she was talking to the actor. And i believe that from what i hear from the story. She dinsdale was trying to protect the actor. And say hey. Don't talk to the actor. Like that and dizzy was one hundred percent correct. He had won two oscars by then he had done a bunch movies. He played malcolm matter where the bathroom was on the set type matter. The point is is that he was doing his job as a durell. What was she in her line in the scene or what not in the you. She was getting upset. But listen to ball you watch like that. "But here's the prob. When you talk about high ceilings now who has a higher ceiling late vanda risk or my man. Michael park to say mike. You better say. Michael parsons okay. We walk into a house if you go if you don't show off if you're going to give me the high ceiling affect where should it be soon as i walk right for you. Oh god it should be in the back of the house. It should be on a different level. Where it's like i gotta go find. It will veterans. There have been looking for. They can't find it. They know his ceiling lower. So michael parts. We don't give it to you first day. You know why because this is america. This is a seventeen game season. Mike parsons you look out of place right now. I know right now. The dallas cowboys coaches staffer. Sitting there saying oh he's going to get this for now. He goes self-correct route this season because his cylinder soha. So you've got to do it in the front. You gotta do it in the beginning. You gotta do it from game one. I understand moved even though as a player. I'm sitting there feeling a little conflicted with that. Same move. I'm with you there but you can't talk about these cowboys in ways. That doesn't totally add up. And then i'll look at the books and i'm like a lot of stuff doesn't add up as well. It all ended up to amazing game but remember to cowboys one for four on touchdowns in the red zone no sacks last night the only occur twice last season now is would a bad defense bad defense so they go out there last night. Don't even get something interesting. This flip it to the book side. I keep looking at these nuggets. I'm like okay. Can i'm trying to predict. I don't believe in proceed. Preseason and i'll believe in what you were last year. I believe in what you're showing me right now and what to show me right now is interesting because i look at tom brady. Who was amazing. Last year in fourth quarter hundred and twenty one. Rayton last night eighty-one gets the bad defense. The defense isn't as bad as advertised. I'll look at tom brady last night. On third down forty five passer rating last year won ten money sales turnovers like they're not so good on the money down now so good on internal but still beat the dallas team to me. How does this add up is dallas much better than last year or two bucks just not the same bucks team and they hold onto that built but at the same time. They're not wearing that built. This year at the one game makes all these indictments and make all these conclusions but it looks to me that the cowboys better. We'll also the bucks work. Let's hear it for the precious metal scratchers from the virginia lottery. Yes precious metals scratchers. They contain prizes ranging from. Hey let me just mention the second. But they kept it. Close all game. Y'all and even lead late in the fourth quarter now dak prescott put up huge numbers huge numbers in his highly anticipated return but with not enough in the two point law for the buck palo was the game when a game mighty good game but talk to me about this. When did the cowboys get a moral victory. No they did not get a moral victory. And i think we're gonna go to blows to this and that's why you didn't wear your suit jacket but they didn't have a moral victory. What they had was a dumb loss. And i needed a gash. That bar again cops down select though do they didn't have a moral victory brother. My dinsdale had a dump. Look y'all run a game day. They had a worse run again. You guys hey what we were like. Oh we never run again exhibited ball. Did you look another day worst. Fifty two net rushing yards on the other side with that. No running game all right. You win the turnover battle. Now you're supposed to eighty percent of those games when you win turnover de battle by plus three or more than the other team the tampa bay buccaneers super bowl champions had a hundred and six penalty yards. They threw enough laundry to give another football field worth of yardage. And did y'all take advantage of that. Y'all still found a way to lose now understand. There's some simple ways to explain that away. Zola coming off the back surgery. He makes one knows and extra point. And we've got shut up because this is the problem with that and this is the problem with anyone who feels good about a moral victory victories. The last word right. There's only one victor. There's only one team that wins. It's not a team. That's that feels good about losing and it's do feel good about losing. You're doing yourself a disservice. But let's get back into this universe where oh actually we. We should have brought it back. And i've seen this hurt me tandis sports. I want to clarify and finally get to the bottom of this more victories. Make you think all. I can imagine us playing and begin like deck even sit post game. Presser brady walking off the field. See you again british to go and go to same way. Next time i tell you what because when you lose but you come close and you get that moral victory Start the latter yourself. Oh we played them again z. Going ball you know what also going to go out there and take advantage of the turnovers. We're going to score more than once in the red zone. But here's the disservice. You're never imagined. They correct their mistakes to fix errors as well so when they come out and say okay. We don't run the ball this time. We're not gonna commit as many penalties. We're not going to commit as many turnovers. Have you run net simulation doughnut. No you had there are no more. Victories is something to get to tonight. So you can feel good about yourself when you wake up the next day you'll lose a name. i love your take. I'm not gonna argue it. I'm just going to make my own. The reason i think the cowboy got a huge moral victory last night for this. We knew they were going to lose by we. The world did vegas had the winning by nine spread of nine points in the. Nfl is gigantic so we knew they were gonna lose but they lost better than we thought. Why does that. Let's say victory is the end word after moral victory. Victory the n. word but what's the ultimate victory and the nfl. You're not trying to win the game week. One trying to win the super bowl now in order women super bowl. It helps you to win the game week one but losing week one and winning week one does not eliminate your guarantee a super bowl. The ultimate victory in the nfl is winning the super bowl. The cowboys took a test yesterday. They took the greatest litmus test that one can take in the nfl. They faced a super bowl champs. They face the team as the favorite to.

"Rate was a top five mark among. qb's last season. okay. Sixteen point five percent uncatchable. That doesn't like out of all the ballsy through less than twenty percent of them. Boy catchable which tells you what that more than a percent or we he puts the ball where it needs to go guys. He puts it where it needs to go in a what. You can't be mad. But he took the name he runs. He does it all. he's that guy. Very impressive on may number three would should be number two only becoming. It's a debate. it's a debate. It could go a lot of different ways. But as the cleveland browns man. Hold cleveland browns. They have come so far remember when they couldn't win a game. Ninety have baker mayfield eighty five point seven niche of eight point three cream hood. Seventy four point four odeal bickham junior seventy five point. Three jarvis landry eighty four point. Seven rashad Three point four bro. The best offensive line right. Tackle jake Conkland with eighty four right guard. Why taylor what ninety two point three sinner. jc cheddar with eighty one. Joel benito at eighty five and left tackle Judge eric willis would sixty two best the line by far. Everybody knows it already. Now with the pro football fuller's rating even shows even more like do their number one in blocking for running and passing. Esus crazy okay. Moving onto desirable devdas rely incorporates miles gear with eighty six point five which again despite nagy's he should have released at ninety. That's wrong david. Clinton has a seventy four point nine. That's another reason why should be david. Klein is there kamanga. Maliki jackson sixty four point seven sixty nine point. Three coming from andrew billings. that's their lineup. But at linebacker the coming in with the rookie jeremiah. Awa- su Komala would have seventy nine point seven as good look there. And then they're db's quarterbacks in safeties in order dinsdale war would seventy point five grid newsome the second would say nine point eight choi here with a six point. Nine john johnson. The third eighty five point. Three ronnie here is during your seventy six point six in the rookie that opted out last year but is here to start for them. Possibly a safety grant delete as sixty six point three. I look man. I just i guess the only reason they are not in the top two because they didn't go to super bowl but they didn't have all that so it makes sense. 'cause the top two are two guys that want to bowl and i mean i'll just spoil the number one because i won't i won't spoil it. I'll just go ahead and say number. Two kency cheese candidate cheese have obviously elite quarterback patrick mahomes and hang one point eight to have very very very very good receiver to rick hill at a four point five elite tied in tribes cozy ninety three point. Eight okay off. It's of line better now. Definitely better orlando brown helping him out with seventy seven point eight joe. Cooney her mouth. Seventy four point. Two razali eighty fifty nine point. Seven seventy one okay. Let me not disrespect meco hartman. Sixty eight point three. I think he should be in the seventies. At least though cloud which lil cloud at to seventy seven point two you goes at outsider ball. Criminals been doing stay. He's an elite de interior defensive lineman with his ninety point three. We'll deserve at thank every month. So reserved higher should be given to jarran reed though with fifty six point. Five and frank clark would or fifty four point three. Wow they dave in taco charleston. A fifty one point six. I guess they're saying these guys. Don't get back to the quarterback and he hitchens and willie gay Sin- forty nine sixty eight and then when you get to secondary you expect to see some high numbers at least from tire matthew as safety. But he's only having a sixty seven again. I don't know. I apologize to the public. Matcher whose job this was a dean gallagher. Snee- of back there were shaun. Fenton and daniel sourcing That's eight one. Thornhill on the did but yet these are the guys that make up a team that is known for winning and getting it done when it's time to get it done. Forget this brea guys. They get the games that they need to get to get it done. It made it to the super bowl. Okay because don't be surprised if you see them go all away to all right the making them move. We'll we'll see them. You know for years to come. As long as patrick mahomes back there twiddling his thumbs i guess right now obviously. The number one team is a team that wins the super bowl in does something that no other team does brings all of them back. Bring all the players office defense special teams back. It's unheard of my goodness how they get away with this. I'll tell you got elite. Tom brady with a ninety three point. Three okay the should be so a good coach elite receiver rating. But he doesn't because he definitely deserves it. In a mike evans would have seventy four point. Nine chris cowan has seventy six. Antonio brown has eighty two point two. She's i don't know how to do these numbers going. Based off of the last season. A grunk at seventy point nine. Oj howard fifty. Four point seven for the year before last offensive line is eighty four sixty seven sixty three eighty. Seventy two gets a different side of the ball. Which is what really helped win this championship for these guys. Well i of course debris fake but dominant sue coming back again. Sixty two point four rating of eighty nine point nine okay. Shack beard has a seventy four point seven. Jp sixty six point three in levante david coming in linebacker would have seventy eight point. Eight in in devon white forty eight point one again. now that i'm going away rains at this point But yeah just looking at. I'm sorry we just really got just voted rains at just at this point clearly after we made it number one. I now don't want to even talk about ratings anymore. Let's just look at the roster's man defensive side for the tampa. bay buccaneers. sue the berry pierre. Paul vaughan david devon white called. Davis are sean murphy. Antonio winfield enjoyed the whitehead very good cast of characters. Apparently you're lacking a little bit of running back you know. Linda for nate has always been cool but he hasn't been that guy's rate rated six point five but like i said with amazing but yeah that's a lot of man that's what it looks like. That's where they stand and that's my show lays german. I appreciate you guys tuning in. Thank you for taking time to listed. This one is lower than usual. I apologize so much information sony names. "To this him. Get him to a place in your rankings. Were dinsdale mims josh reynolds. Jamison crowder christian kirk and marquez valdes scantling and jalen reagor all sit atop the rankings for mr ty l. or thirty two nfl teams. And so let's say you take twice that and there are sixty four wide receivers of note. He's not one of them. According to my so mike splaine yourself. I really like here and and ty on in here. I'm on it. I like the The stat in here for you to just to see the other side of the argument of you know we started slow from week twelve. He was the wide receiver eight. Okay that's great houston. Let's look at weeks one through eleven where. Ty was the wide receiver eighty nine eighty nine. He had fewer fantasy points than allen. Lazard who at that point of the season had played four games. He had fewer fantasy points. Then danny amendola through eleven weeks of the season guys. he's gonna be. It's gonna turn thirty two this year. The injuries are already becoming a problem. We now have two years in a row of t. y. hilton or ti. Houston how we we've dubbed him on the show two years ago place houston again right Yeah he will he will goodness twice and he's averaged fifty yards game for two years in a row that super dynamic. Incredible electric t. y. hilton. He's he has aged out of that. It was. I think a struggle for him and free agency before he. He went back with the colts and last year he was last year. Was averaging the fifty yards a game and was with philip rivers. Who despite what jason thinks. At least last year philip rivers was not washed. Philip rivers was still a fine player and now carson wentz is coming in maybe carson wentz's okay but last year before carson wentz was benched you know for not being good they said you're not trying to which argument are you making your you slipping into a carson winston. Well that's part of it. I mean carson wentz's is slated to be his quarterback at least for half of a season before he probably gets benched again for for being bad but anyways carson wentz was averaging two hundred zero in mud pies over there two hundred thirty one passing yards per game that would be in seventeen games under four thousand yards in seventeen games. That's ho- riffing. That is not going to get anything done for fantasy purposes. You take that production. You take a t. y. Hilton whose production has completely fallen off in the last two years. And i just i de you are setting a draft. Pick on fire t. y. Hilton will absolutely have two to three games this year. Where you go. Oh yeah t y. Hilton these back. He's going in my fantasy of. Oh thanks thanks for taking the next week. Not why so. I am. ot at redeye currently at wide receiver sixty eight. And i think. I'm being generous. Probably right but it does. He play any other texas teams like anywhere close to houston because maybe it's proximity. Maybe plays like a dallas cowboys. Here let me talk. Negative about p. river police Philip rivers was fine. He was fined for the annapolis colts. He really was He he's a smart hall of fame. Queer the debatable friend. I'm stephanie. how much did that hurt. You did it. I mean i didn't. I regret it. The moment that i even started the phrase but his mind is great. His football iq is off the charts. But philip rivers especially. Last year's philip rivers is just. I mean check down. Seven point seven yards per attempt so t y hilton does not match. Philip rivers. t. Y hilton is down there on the other side of the field where philip rivers. Can't throw the ball to just didn't match up and we did see enough explosion at the end of his age. Thirty one season at least say maybe he's not wash. What was the yards per attempt yards per attempt. Passing was seven point seven So is that higher or lower than six point zero. That is much higher than six point. Is that higher lower than six point. Seven sir higher okay. that's carson the last two years. But here's here's a deal on the on that what you have to realize is that when carson wentz has thrown the ball down the field he has had nobody who can go get it and so i believe i mean we've seen right isn't that the criticism on carson wentz like when he should check it down he just wants to try to launch it. It's one of many and so you know. Ty hilton's come out and this offseason. He's he's literally said it's really nice to have someone who can give me the ball down the field again so regardless of what's happened in the past what's happening right now is he is saying that philip rivers couldn't and carson wentz currently is we don't know if he is look i i said mike's probably right but what i have a hard time doing is figuring out where the passing volume goes in indianapolis you can talk about philip rivers tendencies. Ty hilton's problems led the team in targets by a wide margin last year. I mean that's who he was. He's still there number one and they said hey we liked it so much. Bring you back for another year. Pittman didn't show me volume getting paris. Camelback break. I'm not gonna project him to lead the team in targets so fantasy value aside still cannot imagine t y hilton doesn't lead the team in targets. That's that's one hundred percent effect. But to mike's point here this is an. Aj green situation is wash jersey. Knock a degree now. one hundred. Four targets edgy. Green had plenty of opportunity to be good fancy football last year. It doesn't matter when the wheels fall off the wheels fall off. So if you want to avoid t y hilton in your draft. I'm on board. You just got you have to decide. I think he's still got juice left. I don't and then you either get value. Or you're burning one of your one of your picks and f g. So i would say just decide if you believe. He's still has it or not mike. Let's talk to jason for a moment and let's talk about his courtland sutton number. Nineteen overall ranking. He's being adp drafted or his adp is twenty nine th right now i have on a value i have a huge problem with this ranking I mean this is like you've gone benedict arnold on jerry. Jeudy over here yeah. This ranking is a direct personal deep. Cutting insult to my back. I have a. I have a huge problem because courtland sutton did break out. It wasn't that spectacular of a season by way of fantasy finish. He had no competition. Nineteen right that's pretty good. I said spectacular. Didn't i might was not the white house on this number nine spectacular to you know. Say that like terry. Maclaurin was spectacular. Finish in the twenty last year. Twenty three or something. No but i would say that nineteen is very good. I don't think that you were exceptionally happy. Each and every week with sutton's breakout season. Let's pull it. Let's take a look eleven hundred and six. This guy is a police. Eleven hundred and six. You're going to see forty five guys do that this year. Eighteen people do more than that the year finish at nineteen. That's right and tough so so we'll talk about. Let's talk about courtland sutton if you remember last year and i i know you get to talk but i'm setting the table because i want to remember something that we talked about. He was awful withdrew. Luck wants drew. Lock came in after joe flacco. He was terrible fifty six forty one fifty one forty five. That was the worry coming into last year. Injury wiped out the year. Jerry jeudy caja hamler great defense so i think nineteen is is aggressive i do. I think it's very aggressive for coming back from an acl with other weapons. Sure i mean you can ask is drew lock. Good enough is teddy. Bridgewater good enough. Those are questions as fantasy managers. We have to ask..

"Here for you. Because he shows his material at everything. And it's just really incredible. No this guy is capable of no matter. What he's in whether he's a cowboy whether he's fighting thugs in that one action or that action movie series was a that equaliser the and seeing him as a as a deputy. Sheriff i y que you might. He can command the he can command the room. Just as you just a great actor all around. So i was looking forward to him doing cop business. You know in a time where black people in cops. They don't have the best relationship to see a black police officer at some level of young kick by and be able to take down the evil white guy. Or the while the yeah. You're play reversals. On that no but just to see the see that I'm not saying it's like a year. We should so the nightside or cops. No i mean cutler. The police the police system is corrupt. As heck and broken. It needs a huge overhaul. But i mean there are cops in the air their cops out there. That aren't like trying to I'm not saying. Oh i'm white so i don't get i'm seen like cops out there. That are nice to black people. And i think it's important to show that site as well banana to be like see. There's nothing wrong capstone at This whole thing is about them doing their jobs and and try to take this crackdown. Who is dear. Little suspected to be the murderer of this case that they're gone for. I like okay. I like to see how this murder case goes through. Well i law what do you. What are you guys. Think about this. I mean like you said denzel. Washington is one of our best actors still working today. He's one of our few movies. Stars still left today and no matter. What the movie is you're right even at the movies not completely good you are invested in him. You're invested in his performance but nine times out of ten. He'd sells me on a movie even at the movies. Not that great like he elevates the. He's one of those actors to me. He elevates the material just by him being in it and he's played a similar types of roles before. But i'm picking up what he's selling i am. I am into what dinsdale's doing here and rami malik. Yeah he's a talented actor too and man. Detective role is perfect for him with his face. Because you know. Romney valid always looks like he's so sleepy. This is a good night's rest so playing a detective is kind of an interesting role for him just for that. And yeah i think jared leto is a decently enough talented actor. I think that he takes this. Method approach a little too much and he doesn't need to do it and it just makes them come off as a little bit of a jack asked people because of the antics. He's done interesting. I heard that he did not pull any of this during the filming of this movie and i asked in zell about it and denzel said if he had we would have had some words. I don't know what that means but it means dunzo would probably kick his back. Because that's the thing does a lot of denzel washington commanded screen. Because when denso's talking you wanna listen to or else if you don't he will come up then you which does even shown in this film to..

"Is there a word for when there was never gonna be a climax marriage. No i'm kidding No i don't know what is the way this film in i in the way starts. It's like day. Rami playing two completely different characters they do. It's a film. That's two hours long but the story behind his character is rushed. How is it rushed when it's two hours long and it's a slow moving film to there are so many scenes of jared leto. Walking across the street is either a live or just the fact that you spent way too much time in that one in that garage mechanic. Onesie like with them boots. I don't understand what. I don't understand the story of denzel to help them with these murder cases when he came to stay in there he knows me. You're supposed to be about but be. The movie is supposed to be about obsession about hubris the little band. No i don't even mean the in that sense. I mean in the sense that it's supposed to be without. We can't spoil. It's supposed to be about a veteran cop showing up somewhere and seeing somebody who's at the beginning of the trail where he's at the end but that's not the movie day gave us. That's why i said. The movie has seven vibes right. It's it's that same thing and the problem is you. Don't get enough of either of your detectives and enough care about either. Honestly they also don't do any detective work really so this other thing too so you have to detectives that one. That's you know. We used to be hot shit but now for some reason left the department and to be in a small town not a homicide detective anymore and you have the incoming new replacement hotshot homicide detective. This'll be a hot shit and all the stuff but like also isn't good at his job because like none of are actually show that they're actually these are said that this guy didn't have any more depth of knowledge for doing a crime thriller set in an actual police station than ncis. Because they keep saying they're good at their job they get to show us. They you see moments where dinsdale has what looks like. They're supposed to be a brilliant discovery. And all you're like okay. So he walked one more down the block and did what. Clearly the regular police didn't in their canvas. Or you know the smug thing. Oh teach me your ways opium one. All of this stuff could have made a really great movie because they were there..

"Would be a i. E e e e e and for about a year long period. When i was starting to watch films as i was going through my very very very early teens slash late nine year olds. I always used to wonder why when people were shot in the films they didn't go. That was not made. If you've got shot which would have made her a very different robocop. wouldn't it rally anyway. The haunted mantelpiece ladies and gentlemen a marble mantelpiece originally from dinsdale house in county. Galway was bought by a school. Turn dublin christy o'neil. He was busy in his workshop late one evening when he happens to glance towards the mantelpiece he saw the shadowy figure of its whole man standing beside it when he moved towards it. The figure vanished. But it majorly afterwards. Pieces of marble rose up. Apparently of their own accord a moved about the studio both the sculpture and his family had strains of music. O.'neil made some enquiries at duns. Dale almost was told that the toll ghost had indeed been seen in the castle but not since the fireplace and being sold. "On here. Live about the just brian lauritz. Who's been a part of our series as well Right colour wrong culture in hal. You've expounded on that to me. That i thought was very insightful. That helps us really think about as we press in in an pursue unity as the church but that really does look yes One example. For me i came into a church. You know i was at that time. The the second Black or african american pastor to be on staff i was leading their ministry particularly the high school ministry. And if you read a brian's book he has like these different categories of people he compares them to people that we would recognize like who are. You know You know in the media or in movies or tv shows and so he describes how like There's a carlton right. The carlton from fresh prince from layer ability in in how carlton has a certain role. Way in. i would say that. When i came to the church right i think people were expecting me to be carlton win in actuality. I'm more biden zale right and i think the tension though is there's a sense in which you know call in for some people is easier right like there's not really a shift in culture. He identifies as african american but cultural Identifies with middle class. Kind of white society denzel. Only on the hand identifies very differently right. And so i come in as denzel and i'm having to try to figure out like who they want to. They want to. They want me right. And i think part of the challenge of of understanding walking through this as a was there a church or a business or organization is the tension in that moment is sometimes like we put carlton against dinsdale right. You know 'cause carlton is easier for me. I'm gonna identify here and so then zales bat or vice versa. Right where someone says will sell out so we need more details when the reality is you actually need both and everywhere in between right like carlton plays a role. That's vitally important right. He he shattered. Stereotypes helps some people. Feel safer to get the conversation going on and and and Denzel on the other hand plays a different role rights. It's kind of like what we do with malcolm. Are martin sometimes an unfair when you really know Both of their stories. Because malcolm becomes more like martin at the end of his life and martin becomes more like malcolm is actually why they both were were assassinated ride because they were becoming something that could be put in a box anymore..
