A Friendly Ghost Story

"I think we talk a lot about ghosting in the romantic context right But it also happens with friends. Obviously and the reason. I want to talk about friend. Ghosting today is. Because i think it's an example of a larger problem with how friendships tend to end like what happened with one of our listeners. I just remember. There was one particular instance where she called me. And i looked at the phone and i was like oh i can't do this. I just didn't answer. This is dana lucic and a couple years ago. Dana goes did a good friend of hers when she learned her friend with pregnant. Oh my inner feminist is really angry at me. Because i know that women are able to do everything and anything to be cleared. Dana was excited for her friend but she was also worried about their friendship. Changing i am now thirty years old and i do not want children and i struggle when my friend start to have children because i feel like they change and i feel like they you know of course obviously wanna spend a lot of time with their kids talk about their kids and i'm just not interested. Gina this is like oh. You're having a baby. Congratulations you just lost a friend. It's like the exact opposite reaction society. Expects you to give exactly exactly. I really respect her ruthlessness about it. Yeah and dino wasn't always like this

Apple Walks Back Plans for New Child Safety Tools After Privacy Backlash

"Apple as everybody knows because we talked about it. I'd i'd ad nauseam Was going to use the database from neck. Mchugh were closely with back for twenty years. Yeah missing exploited children there. An organization found started and funded by the government but non-governmental their non-private but they do maintain they're the only place legally allowed to maintain a database of child sexual abuse material. They create a fingerprint hash. That almost everybody uses to detect it on their own servers. So they don't have to send the images around just the fingerprint and google microsoft facebook. Everybody uses this. to detected. apples proposal was a little different. Instead of scanning right there on i cloud as everybody else does. Apple wanted to scan the images on their way to i cloud in in other words. Put the scanner on your phone. And i don't know if that was what triggered people but there was something about this sancrosanct phone that made people say no apple in apples. I think listening mulas. Ads apple ran. That said what happens in your turn stays in your phone. Yeah apple have been. That could have been why people thought this about. Yeah i think you're right. They created expectations. And of course apple fought the good fight with the fbi around the time when the fbi wanted to break their encryption around the founded the dino shooter the thing that i think apple had a bad messaging over the semi part of the problem is the kind of stuff that apple would have reported to neck. the national center for the team's poor children. T. Rex Was a 'Foodie,' Scientists Find

"There was a paper that came out recently called complex neuro vascular system in the dentistry of tyrannosaurus and it was published in historical biology by so chiro koby and sochi tori. And it's around how t. Rex may have had a sensitive tip of its snout like that displayed. A source horny yet but the headlines were more about it being a foodie or a picky eater. Where's the display a source. One was like it was a tender lover. It it's a really interesting. The two different headline types. There's a lot of reasons. It would be useful to have a sensitive snout so to kind of summit up. I liked the way the new york times article. Put it quote. T. rex to eat blindly and basically t rex had these complex nerves and the tip of the jaw may have been sensitive and that would have helped. Tell the difference between soft tissue and other parts of the meat. It was eating so then. If it was available it could choose to eat the soft parts interesting. Which is why people were talking about being foodie. So what the others did was they. Cat scan a left mandible or job. t rex. It was an immature specimen. That was found in the hell creek formation. And they also. Cd scanned some other orna. Fisken's like triceratops montessori fuqua stores and they looked at extent crocodilians and birds and what they were doing was they were looking at the neuro vascular canal. That's this combination of where small blood vessels and nerves collagen fibers and sells stored fat. Were and in t. Rex the neuro vascular canal in the dentistry has this complex branching pattern actually similar to extend crocodiles and what they said were. Tactile foraging birds on his which are also known as ducks. Kind of interesting to think of t. Rex being similar to a duck So they assumed that the upper job t. rex had a similar

"Dino might now. Dynamite isn't like the sticks that make big explosions that's dynamite. Dino might was an invention of the dino knights a sticky ball that they had attached to a dinosaur skin when it activated it. Put the dinosaurs to sleep long enough for them to be safely removed. I'll said said give it to me. Sir rourke hesitated then dropped the dynamite into cid's outstretched hands being careful sit. Sit nodded turned his little. Triceratops and charged the huge carnivore. It was far too busy to pay much attention to this small kid and so sit steered right under the huge dinosaurs body hurling the sticky ball of dynamite upwards is. He went as he raced to safety. Sorority activated the dynamite and the enormous media suddenly became very sleepy within moments. It was fast asleep. Sprawled across someone's shiny new truck work. Everyone said sircar. Las raising his fist in triumph. Especially you sit. Said serarch was very brave. Thank you said said. He was feeling tremendously proud to have helped the dino knights of you wonder where all the dinosaurs come from. All the time said lady alice. All we really know is that it's happening more often. You've truth be told said sir. Carlos were beginning to struggle to keep up with sircar. Las didn't finish speaking because he was interrupted by another great dinosaur. Roar striding around. The building was another carcharodontosaurus. The three dino knights reacted straight away moving their own dinosaur rides into a defensive position but sid hit never taken part in their training so he stayed right where he was and that gave him a glimpse of something. Strange down the side of the school. Right where this new dinosaur had just appeared from while it and the dino nights squared up to one another sit urged his triceratops towards what look like up black circle. Was that how the dinosaurs had arrived. If it was the circles didn't hang around for long as nobody had reported seeing one. I need to be quick. Said sid and urged his triceratops through just as the black circle blinked out of existence sit had arrived and only large room of strange machinery. It wasn't like any technology he'd ever seen before up above he could see movement as figures moved around the walkway. It was then he realized he was actually in some kind of pit presumably to keep the dinosaurs that being sent through the circle away from the people above suddenly one of those people was leaning over the walkway and pointing at him. There is a manny down there. It screeched moore faces peered over the edge and it dawned on sid that he wasn't looking at humans but dino people up above they went into panic unsure of what to do this intruder the machines around sid drummed into life and a fresh black circle appeared behind him with nowhere to go and not wanting to be captured sit turned his triceratops around and charged back through. Sid shouted lady alice. Why did you go. We would terrify you've been eaten. The three dino knights were now stood guard next to enormous sleeping carnivores. I think i just found out where the dinosaurs coming from. Explain sid and he told them about the strange machines. And the dino people that controlled them. The dino knights listened fascinated. Why are they doing it or car. Las they clearly don't like humans if they're going to all that trouble said serarch. I think we can expect more terror from these dino people which means we're going to need more help suggested lady. Alice definitely said sircar loss. But we call it. Just have any ill person join us said sir work sternly sit sagged in his saddle. Subtly feeling a little sad. Why had he been thinking he was still just a child after all but when he looked up. Sir rourke was smiling. Broadly at him. Welcome to dino knights acid the and..

Exploring The Halloween Party Murder of Arpana Jinaga

"The time of the halloween party in two thousand eight. Jay was in his thirties successful programmer. He lived in the seattle area but he kept in touch with a lot of friends. Back home including dr. Jim naga whose daughter had moved down the road from j to an apartment complex in redmond very beautiful girl betty brainy and all. She's very kidding. I noticed that you speak about her in the present tense. Yes yeah three days after the costume party at the valley view jay woke up. Walk downstairs checked his phone. He saw a bunch of miss calls from arpan his dad. He called dr genego back immediately and he could hear his friend was in a bad place. There was no sign of arben banana. She wasn't answering her phone. Her friends sri aletha couldn't get in touch with her either. J. hung up and tried arpanet himself. Nothing like calling back and saying that it's going to iceman and what are you going to do. you said. Can you go and check on her. Jade bandarban has pleased once before but all he remembered was that you had to walk up a set of stairs to the top floor to be honest. I don't even know the unit number. So that's why i took the steps then. I was knocking on the door and map for almost like thirty forty seconds. No one was there. Then i read then again not to play. That's what i saw that. I don't even know who he is. The guy j saw coming towards him was in his mid twenties. The goatee and sideburns. Average build and height was cameron johnson. Arpan is next door neighbor. And i asked him dino this he said yeah i know so. Ask him which lives by. Then mehan cameron. We both standing just in front of that apartment. J. push gently on the door and a bolt fell off. Someone seemed to have bashed it in. The lock was broken. And there were splinters. All around the chan- then. I talked to cavern. I asked like it looks like somebody broke her apartment. What the hell is going on right. So can you help me out. He said okay. Then we both went inside about. I was cut basically. Jay was yelling calling for our puna but no one was answering.

"I'd get blasted for excommunicated at the end of this. No i think everyone knows. I love the community. But it's like you know we have problems. Every martin was community has problems and i think. Let's try to fix those. And i think i it's. It's it's impossible to fix some of them. Just because of the the history of a lot of asian cultures. But you know i just think we. I think we could just do better and again. This goes back to writing about asian movies or asian stories like a. We expect so much from people who are closest to us and when they don't deliver it makes us pissed off and we like still furious. We're like i'll do better. So that's what i kind of i i might again. I'm in this weird transition phase of my life and especially with diaspora whatever's going on. It's like i just urge people to do better and to urge our asian brothers and sisters in siblings to just look out for each other because no one out. There is gonna fuck and help us until we help ourselves. First and hundred percent and in a you know there are solutions. And you know if you don't like what one organization is doing. Start one that you want someone to do and then build synergy off of that. It's like don't ask anymore. And i think a lot and i'm still having that problem. I mean it's hard to it's hard to be so deep in it and and to feel the bigness of something that is big but also release small like the the paradox of like you guys like a really work frying about and this is the hill that we wanna die on. And i've been in that universe for twelve years like hardcore making it my entire life in those parts of it that i'm super grateful and i learned so many things and i got so many great relationships like that are very genuine. That really gave me inspiration and education. That i wouldn't have gotten anywhere else and then also there's parts of me that i'm like why did i give so excessively to something that i was just upon in somebody else's game or feeling that feeling of lake even though i understand like you said it's a transactional situation and we are here specifically to build an industry in get in. Get us headway. When it's not received with a thank you or with any sort of you don't have to like throw me a parade but it's like a it's acknowledged or appreciate it or not you know also it that can leave a very lasting. It can limit a person's ability to have faith in something or want to be generous or want to have their fuel tank refueled cause for you and your org or your people or whatever. There's a so neighbors ends where in this particular industry there's a lot of people out to get. There's and i've been in that space you so i'm not even like judging that hard but we like very small insular community and i hear like the more. I'm not in the community because i stepped down from collab- like i hear more freely from other people because i'm self regular civilian now The shade that they throw in. I'm like. I wonder what it was when i was running an organization and things to you know and i think there is. There's i think there's two kinds of shade right there there. Like there's plenty of instance especially like i think there's constructive criticism you know if you don't like something you or if i don't like something i am going to go to the source and be. Oh hey man. let's talk. You did this. I don't agree with it. How could we make it better. We see i two. I don't think we may not end up seeing ida eye on things. But at least i think i'm not really a person to to talk behind people's back i will in the beginning when i that you to your face because this is just me like trying to figure out how i approach this. I'm all about doing something constructive and not just throwing shade for the sake of throwing shade. Then there are those people who just are an e or or a. They're just there to just kinda bring a toxicity to the community and most of the time when people are really really harsh on an organization or person or this that another. They have nothing going on in their lives. They're unemployed and i keep that in mind when i'm talking shit you know. Everyone talks but it's like all the shit make sure you something constructive. The back it up you know or or just like you could provide something rather than just insult someone exactly tearing down. Don't tell you know it's like. I'm not here to bring down the community and when i said before i'm not here to be your megaphone. I am. I know. I am a megaphone to a certain extent but i am not here to be your disposable megaphone like yeah we we did what we want with. You know. it's like yeah. We could still remain. You have some sort of professional relationship. What professional or community oriented relationship and continue to work together. Don't just say again like i said before. I felt that for the longest time people were just like throw it too dino. He'll do it. He's asian period. That's kind of one. I just felt like. I was being used like i think me and you have this. You know you've worked on collaboration for so long and people are going to use you in a certain way good or bad but at the same time it's just like all i think it's all about respect and all about like all. Yes you know. I know you're using me but you know at least just respect me as you use me. We're using each other like the talented. This what. I was trying to remind talent from being a the actor myself because something. I started in the middle of collaboration. But before that i was the pre i've been the producer in person like booking talent. Unlike we need each other. You know what i'm saying like you. We need the talent to be on the stage but you also need the people to organize and put the show together to have for you to be on. Like i'm like there is a mutual. What's biology ward right now. But it's like there's a synergy there that is that is necessary if you could have that be genuine and not be so like shitty for of words we can all not feel so like torturous going through this process. 'cause really do need and it's not like you're so no one's above anybody else i've had i've had artists dino at some of the shows i've put on talk shit about the show next to me right before they get on stage and i'm just like you which is like i'm not i ever. You know like. I appreciate complements. The i get you know people are like. Oh you've done so much one community. Whatever at the. I always at the end of the. I'm just like a journalist. And i'm doing what i was doing. Exactly what. I was doing almost two decades ago except you know i am on a bigger..

"Obama built the cages. You know? That's what's frustrating about watching these, but you know, the journalism side of things is really dead. There is no neutral source. No, they're all commentators. Right. And they've lost all semblance of even pretending they are. In fact, somebody I think it was chuck Todd said no. No, I'm not here to report the facts. No. I'm here to tell you what's true. Yeah. Really? You mean, according to your brain? What's true according to your brain? Yeah. And they were at the exact same way and CNN is the worst though, because with MSNBC and Fox, you know what they are, you know where they're coming from because Fox is on the right and MSNBC's clearly on the left. CNN comes on with the your most trusted name in news. And facts matter. And they just suck. I see an I mean, honestly, I wish I wanna puke and all the people on it like Nurse Ratched. She's on the morning show with now what's her name? What's her name? What's the lady's name on them? I never watch it. I only see it if I'm walking through an airport. Seriously, it's the only time my eyes touch CNN broadcast. Now how did they get that deal where you have to watch CNN when you're in an airport? That makes the world think of us? That was a brilliant move, though that they did marketing was, but too bad they just turned away. I will say this. Even the most liberal media outlets are beating the sour just a little bit on our commander in chief. Yeah, based on what's happening in Afghanistan. It's almost indefensible. And think about this. I mean, it's one thing to be how do I want to say this? Cognitively impaired. As the president. My bad's been wiped. But when your national security advisers and your military advisers, when asked what we should do in Afghanistan, tell you, we need to get our people and our allies out before you announce that we are pulling our troops out and we're done with this war. And Joe because he's so much smarter than these guys. I got a good idea. I need a bump in the polls. I need people to say, oh, he's bringing the boys home. He's bringing the troops home. He's bringing the men and women in uniform home. And so he brought them home and he put the card before the horse. Absolutely. So all he had to do was whisper and everybody's here in Afghanistan. You know, get the fuck out of here. There's a couple weeks get out of here. You get out. Yeah, don't tell anyone, but don't tell me about it. Everybody's out. Then you announce we're done and we're pulling our troops out. Now, we've announced it, the Taliban is in a rushed in. And here's the worst part. Bad enough to be demented enough to reverse the cart and the horse. Now, he is actually negotiating with Taliban. He sent an envoy over there to say this. Would you mind if we took a little bit longer to get our people out of Afghanistan? Maybe I know I know we said September 1st. But if we could just have to like the 5th of the 60s. It would be really good. And the Taliban guy. Look at him and said GF why? You fuck yourself. So we are now negotiating and asking permission from these terrorists. And by the way, you keep our guns and all the guns that got our tanks that got all of our stuff. So we're asking for permission if we got a little more time to get them out of there. How putrid embarrassing is? That's the commander in chief. So you got to listen to him. He got do what he says. I can only imagine what it would have been like if Trump had handled this mishandling the same way, you know, he's third impeachment, you know, no question about it. By the way, do we have that Lumi when we commercial? Do you have that? Oh, okay. Ben's gonna jump into action here. You see how Ben? Quickly jumps into action like quickness. Cat liquid. You know, the thing about Ben is his job description is loose. We have him doing we have to do a whole bunch of things and Jack all right. I saw this commercial on TV and I didn't think of any of you guys. You're lucky to know what is it called? LU ME Lumi. No, it's Looney commercial. Loony in there. Come on, Ben. No, I saw this at on TV and you know, nowadays on TV, you see ads for all kinds of things. You see ads for HIV medicines. You see commercials for Seattle advice. Yes. You know, this lumy commercial. It's this one here. Can we play this? She looks like a Brett girl. Isn't she talking about? Because Lumi conquers all body odor, not just your private drive. You can use it on pits feet or any other stinky crevice. Just take a pea size amount and apply it like a lotion to your private. Oh my God. Are you real? Goodbye. Lumi was created by an o-b-gyn to be totally safe and effective. It's made with gentle ingredients and only goes on the outside, not the inside. And despite what the douchebags tell you, the outside is where the odor is anyway. Gloomy. Keep your privates private. She talked about it. Outside. There's other versions of this where they say, you know, these I'm glad my mother's not alive and I had to watch that with her. These could cause odors and it had a list, you know, sweat, semen. I mean, it had a list of things that can cause butt crack sweat and all this and all these odors. I saw it on TV. I said, really? You can advertise a product like that for body stink? What the hell? What's this world coming to you? You made reference to an outside crevice. They showed a demonstration on a peach where you're supposed to put the dots right between the crackers on the outside, not the inside. The outside. You know, there's some people we know that need these. It's a public service to the rest of us. Seems to be a female oriented spot, right? What if there's some guy that could use a little sloppy down there? Well, you know, dick radish said to me, he goes, if you get to the belly button and you smell low tide, turn around. He was so matter of fact about it. We have John dino Dennis in the house here, and he still holds the record for the most downloads of the planet Mikey. Yeah. It's lasting pretty well. Absolutely. 'cause I'm sure you wear it all the time. I sleep in at Mikey. Ben nose sorry Ben said your microphone. Yeah. Ben knows that that was by far the top episode we had. Oh, it's not even close. Yeah. Which means your listeners have very low standards. It gives two in the top right. One by a lot. Watch this one bomb. Well, no, no, not. Thing is. It feels like it's gonna suck. Suck, it's gonna be great. It's gonna get as many. In fact, we should solicit people to make this the number one overall episode. It would fucking trophy or something. You can put in his golf ball. Can I get another T-shirt? Yeah, I'll get you some I'll get you. We have black one. How about a Boston baseball hat? Oh. A knock off. From China. Go ahead. Keep going. You were a channel 7 for how many years? 20. And TV, you know, the TV. John Henning and Jack Cole with the first two anchors when I started doing sports on channel 7. Who is the weather babes? Doctor Fred ward. Oh, he's in bay. And then Harvey came in right after I got there. And Harvey and I were kind of our TV careers were side by side to like went to the dark side of radio. Now you won 8 Emmys. Yeah. I only got three, of course, you know, that was funny looking. You know, people you gotta watch to get in there. See, even Brady doesn't have 8 Emmys. Nah, it's only got 7. He's got 7 super bowls. But channel 7 was back in the glory days of TV sports and TV news. When everybody knew the names of people who were on each station now try to make can you name me 5 sports anchors? But nobody watches local newscasts for sports anymore. You know, the day of days of lynch and low bell and Dennis getting 5 and a half or 6 minutes to go through every sport and all this course and all this just don't exist anymore because sports centers there. Nesson is there. Everybody's there. The NFL network is there. So you can see it coming toward the end. You're 5 minutes went to four, your four went to two and a half, you're then went to one and a half into something broke and you had like 15 seconds. 13 seconds you're out of there. Yeah. So it became much less important. So let me do it. Steve Burton would be one. Okay. Is Joey Emerson, still doing channel 7? Emerson. That's a question. The fact that it's a question. Duke castiglione on channel 5. His.

How Are the Latinx Community Represented on TV

"Latino and latina representation in film and television is an age old conversation topic and despite some recent milestones. The numbers are still pretty disappointing. According to a recent study by the la times latinos and latinas are underrepresented across all aspects of television and film productions despite making up nearly twenty percent of the us population that dino's and latina's constitute only six percent of main cast members less than nine percent of writers seven percent of directors and six percent of senior executives. The presence of african and indigenous latinos in the industry is even smaller but statistics can only tell us so much how latino individuals and communities are portrayed. "And everything you befriend might be an easier to lead. It would be to train it from a young age and hatching help it grow. It'll be your friend. Hopefully yes that. I think even like a thursay to source could be decent as well as the only theropod that i would probably even remotely think of although with those claws i dunno might not even go for that and even thursday as far as it has more of a penguin like posture given our modern depiction. So you might slide right off. Its back unless you have some really clever saddle. But when i was i was looking at all these different. Dinosaurs silhouette trying to figure out which one i would wanna ride. I think i would go through the obamas or some other really large mima somewhere. Because i think it'd be great for higher speed as long as you keep your balance above its hips. Because their bipedal and also assumes that it doesn't have the temperament of its namesake ostrich and hate having you on. its back. But if you couldn't get that to work i think sarah topsy ends are probably the best bet. As long as they're back aren't too rounded because on elephants for example the riders tend to sit just behind the head to sort of avoid the sloping ness of the back. But you can't do that on a ceratops. Because he gets squished by the frill. If it looks up basically and you can't ride on the frill. No no you gotta stay in between the legs for sure. Don't you can't ride on animals heads chatrel. So yeah what would you a pod. Oh yeah no question which store pot though maybe brakha source who is adding a whole other level. I could see. Actually that might be better for the rains. Because maybe if you turned its head it would make more of a difference in trying to turn the really long head our you. Yeah like a giraffe. I into but given their really tall height that could make mounting and dismounting even more difficult. Yeah it's probably scary too when they rear up. Yeah you'd have to at a minimum. You'd have to train them like an elephant. Were they like take a knee. So that people can climb up onto them Maybe build some kind of ladder. Maybe you can only ride juvenile sore pods. Oh that could be here. You got a short window though because they grow fast. Yeah yeah. I do have a backup plan to in case this problem ever rises okay and that's building a dinosaur chariot or buggy to be towed behind the animal because before people learned how to ride horses. That's what they did. They use the chariot instead. Because we could. It was easier to sort of guide them in a general direction and they would tolerate being towing something rather than having it on their actual back so that could work to maybe or use it as a pack animal first step though to have a non avian dinosaur so can out of luck. Yes we are. It's a fun thought. Experiment though yeah definitely and that wraps up this episode of i know dino thanks for listening he wanted to join our growing community chat with fellow dinosaur enthusiasts and get a whole slew of other perks than go to our page patriot dot com slash. Uri Bram on Being Remotely Functional

"One of the things. I'm always curious about is. When did you first notice you were growing beyond what you could manage like on your small team or as a solo preneurs for someone. When like when did you first notice. You're going to have to expand beyond that. I think that is a really interesting transition. Because i you know i sort of realized that i was at ninety percent capacity. I realized i was may be coming towards one hundred capacity. I realized that it was maybe two hundred and ten. Thank you know. I always took pride that. I on every email and whenever subscriber right to end i would go above and beyond try and look after them and make make make sure that they felt like a human. Was tuscany reading announcing dino and yet another thing about emails is the thing that it was just like going for other one of the other night. It never ends the nuclear inbox menu. Wake up in the morning and there's like another goodness. Oh i think we will traumatize and so i realized on the a little too late that it got out of control and the problem was the Big restructuring the has to happen between a sort of china and an organization. I mean the easiest part of it is just a you know we go from having all the knowledge and information about business in my head and i know edrich and i remember it thankfully at the time But no one else has any idea how anything so we started out as working with a few freelancers graphic design. Obviously that simple enough. You know you. Just say hey. We'd like this beautiful draw a picture. Thank you very much. And yeah i think at the moment when i realized we needed to expand into an organization and a team and it was already too late because it actually takes quite of work to then and make business legible. Which at that moment you longer have time to do. Because you're trying to do the work. That is something. I wish i'd started sina. So what would you say are some signs that solo per newer out there right now. Listening could see in their own business. And say i should be starting to think about that already. What should they be looking out of. They make that jump. It's a really great question. Obviously one of these things that it's always going to be a matter of discretion and you know sometimes people jumped to five people often higher too early on then w ovation so they can't fulfill in always Already challenge on the other side of me. I think that when you realize that you are doing tasks that don't really require your skillset so for me. It was realizing that a lot of the things i was doing. I enjoyed them. And i like them. Because i had gotten good at them. Actually it needs to be meeting them. It didn't really take expertise to the simplifies and i was procrastinating from the heart attacks by simple tasks what ingredients today with handoff. They simply tasks. But i think as set it is very hard. You have this vision of how well you do things right You think you're doing everything right and when you had something over. It's never going to be done the way you did it. Maybe it's going to be done better but you think it's done better. You think it's not quite right. I think at the moment. When i realized that yet these tasks within the business that i was during repeatedly and didn't require like you know my specific expertise at the moment that i think you start thinking. Hey can i organize the system. Either like to unite like sas has improved so much and has made. This is like aw possible like that. Identity can get handed like the right technology. And then others can be hindered Another member of the team. Yeah i definitely agree with that. It's so funny. Everything you just said was like a mirror from my one on one with my manager really liked to do are the things that probably you're going to have to let go of to keep expanding at least that's what she keeps telling me and i have found that she's been right every time she reminds me of that. But it's really tough to let go those things that you really like doing and i think you have a certain level of Confidence and excitement. Because you already like become an expert at those things that you should probably be delegating out to your point that maybe are not as much strategy but in the day to day but they're also hard because that's why you fell in love with the track. He did right because those are the things that you really enjoy in. That's how you kind of got into stuff so it's always interesting to me in the corporate world. You know you end up. Having to give those up in as a solo per newer. You probably have to give them up to in order to grow your business right I always say that like all business problems emotional problems and that's not actually true. Like many are not a lot of my are about me about my psychology about figuring out a way around myself and mike hangups and whatever it might be and i it's it's kind of funny to realize that the best thing you can do for your business unit realized realize have kiss reflection realized the things holding you back and just solving problems actually is really good for businesses. Well yeah buddy. Go things and not being a control freak. They're all things. I'm working on every day at. I feel like you're right. Those are those motions issues that could be holding you. Back is keeping hanging onto things a little too long. I do think you are right. That people sometimes higher too quickly. But i think what you're saying. You said a couple of things that really stand out to me before we move onto a new little section here. But you mentioned that one if you're realizing you're doing one hundred ten nine hundred fifty percent every day you know. You're probably starting to outgrow needing just yourself and the other thing was really about letting go some of those things that you really liked doing but you can't. You can't scale by doing those. Every day and focusing on things the areas you need to expand in so. I think both of those really stand out to me for someone who's out there. Sola preneurs right now feeling. Some of those things might be time to start making the plan. Oh that's the other thing you said that stood out to me so three things actually because we talked about by the time you need it. It's too late to make the plan because you're too busy so i think if you're a solo pure out there and you're feeling like you're overworked. Every day i mean every every silla preneurs going to feel that way but if it's getting excessive and if you're feeling like you know you are doing the day to day in it's just drowning you. It's definitely you might be already passed the time to make a plan. So are there any like where in your experience he said. You kind started the planning a little too late. So where do you think someone should start planning before. They feel like that like what what's their signed like. Hey start making span into a multi employee organization. Yeah i. I'm going to say that this is not actually a signal in itself but an example for me. That was really salient. Was when we started using helpdesks of. I used to get support just to my personal in box and way way way too late i set up proper support software just in modern held stuff and at first it wasn't such a big change. I i like. I was still dealing with emails. Am i was just doing it from a different client and then slowly you kind of learned over like tools within it and you're like oh i can do snippets and our hey. I can get reminded. An owner is actually like much better than for the main thing. Is that it. Lets you hand off smoothly like once. Stop ramp-up unanimous situation. If you want to bring someone new on board like you're working with a system that is built for that and the initial like transition tick a week way to But if i was doing that we transition in the middle of a crunch time. I would have been absolutely friday. Was only by during that transition in. Advance that unite. The whole thing seemed possible.

"Mary and you were also there yesterday. For the other event that that joe biden had i don't want i don't want to close without commenting on it because you know it was pretty weird odd. And this was a chance for dino. Come out get out i. i'll just speak to some real americans about this bill. Tout how it's going to be impacting. There is no real interaction With the business owners except to sort of say. Hey you got any questions for me. Obviously they praised the bill and thanked. "Early at my childhood. I was invited to have a play date. My white friends never had a play. That so i want to megan's house. The streets were wider. The homes were bigger and brighter. It was obvious that it was the barrier race that kept us from that because the segregation was race spaced even here evanston illinois or proudly liberal suburb of chicago. The barrier and burden of race have long weighed heavy. Like a winter storm. This is alderman for the fifth ward. Robin ru simmons was born and raised in the historically black neighborhood. She represents this community was red. Line historically and that has come along with Damages that continue today resources were stripped away from the black community along with wealth as well. The city's plan to change that reparations. In idea long-debated proposed over one hundred and fifty years ago. I forty acres of land later mule for formerly enslaved people to share the american dream built on their backs for free. Promise long broke until now. This is a historic vote. Evanston is set to become the first. Us city to pay out reparations. A total of ten million dollars starting with increments of up to twenty five thousand dollars per person for housing. I didn't start my electic. Career even discussing reparations rich. I was looking at data. I was looking at what we had done. And reparations was the only answer the only the only the only any more of the same was gonna only at best help us sustain the oppressed state and the disparity that we have only. That's a big word. The only legislative response for us to reconcile the damages in the black community as reparations why housing housing specifically and homeownership is a path to begin to build. Well when you have stable housing you have an opportunity just to breathe and think about what's next. It provides a sense of place in the community where we're largely renters now and we should be owning. We anticipate litigation with the premise that we cannot use tax money. That's from public to benefit. A particular group of people throughout history taxes were used to benefit a certain group of people while others were excluded from that dino robinson is a founder of shorefront an archive dedicated to chronically celebrating. Black life in evanston a richness long undervalued. His documentation going back to the late eighteen hundreds invaluable in measuring the cost of racism. And the need for reparations of members were moving throughout evanston informing. You know pockets in the city of evanston and it caused the white communities are panic. Like what do we do about this. The response to that panic redlining federally sanctioned project assigning market value to neighborhoods a grading system a to d. The d areas usually relegated to the black community. The area d. was always read. This deliberately pushed evanston black families into an area that became the fifth ward. Segregating them from white families sought after property and ultimately wealth. Things were not loan to black families. Real estate agencies would not show you other than fifth ward. That map still is. The map of are concentrated. Black community are disinvestment today. White residents of evidence have nearly double the income in home value of black residents. This racial wealth gap is prevalent nationally. Black-americans possessing less than fifteen percent of the wealth. That white americans have who i am. Nineteen years old. We moved to evanston in nineteen fifty nine black residents who lived through red line again. Their descendants are eligible for reparations. That includes ben gain senior and his son then junior then senior grew up in nineteen twenties dixon kentucky part of the old south the business end of an era most violent weapon against african americans. "Now clearly. that's dale. What video is so delayed on sale. And it's it's disturbing that because sometimes it's hard to tell when you stop talking facebook. Don't don't watch the video. Do you have to watch videos. The only one. That's real time as wes. Yeah yeah that's why. I should be on the other side of the table. Not with the sun behind me. Blacking out my face in black Does your in blank again. Screenshot back she might get a boost. I was thinking about this like the on. tv the other day and it blew my mind. I it was on tv. But second that. I really haven't heard like this crazy outcry against the actors or the movie soul man. Remember that from the eighties. Yeah the ultimate black face move there. Everyone he lily stolley black college college. Yeah it was like the whole reason why you did that. Gave like guy with black so that he could get the minority scholarship thing and then goes to harvard places a black kite time. Plays up alana stereotypes. Nobody said the thing. I wonder who created to wasn't. Oh damn i picture. Yeah i am too light snow. Tom hanks and his buddy dressed up like women so they could get the the Cheap rent an all girls training trainees not at that. Level is a good show. That was a good show. I like that too. You thomas c thomas. How did i've never seen this movie. But she's looking at thumbnails on my own mind. Good that look at the yeah. He played black. Dude it's awesome in some of them because he looks like a actually like a black version that easy e darker thought he'd got puerto rican enough land blah. The thing was he took like tanning pills or something like a whole bunch of them and he just kept taking notes to stay dark which also terrible message from the eighties believe they could do that. Like i said there's like jerry. Jones walked movie and like okay. Yeah i'm sure he has a lot to say about it now. But nobody's saying anything that's what kills me. We'll start twitter campaigns. This is this is thomas to the live. Boy we should have. We should destroy his career. I don't think he's doing much if these even still got one. It's still getting good scores. Wow there are white. supremacist shelter. That i mean maybe it's funny. I don't know i don't even remember it. I remember the premise. It couldn't have been that funny. Because i watch. I've watched like beverly hills cop and other stuff from the eighties. That i think is funny over and over again and i don't think i ever really watched sleman. That's the one. Where eddie murphy is in black face beverly hills con- no. I'm saying it's another funny eighties movie to actually still stands up today. It's really that was christie's first sighting of a black man. I mean didn't exist. Until the i didn't really over cigar cigarette trucks. Because they opened up the cigarettes blasts really why they were chasing those guys down. I wasn't the cigarettes. Cash gave me still blazing saddles. We've already talked about you know how you couldn't do that every tax. He couldn't do that though. But dude i don't even remember watching that and then i watched it to grab forget amazing. It's like i laughed out loud literally several times Like on on sundance or whatever but every time there was a commercial and right before they went back to the movie. They had explicit warning. Oh yeah what's also really. Well you maybe offensive dope dating dated material because they changed it. I mean now. They're doing on old cop shows like I mean i say chicago pd. They're talking like the old reruns they they had. They have to do that. intro comp. There's an entire group of people who whole movement is to remove. Every cop show from television may think they should all be removed because they're all offensive. It's that's how salt hating cop shows. I just watched the first episode. The season premiere of law and order. Svu and this is probably not stop watching it because it was just fun the police. They're all racist. And i'm like so i mean i guess they just self hating like basically. It's a cop show. That was talking about horrible. Cops are now i. I've talked about this with my mom. Like how are they gonna do copters now especially new york like Yeah like law and order game that other show With tom selling because there's no longer undercover cops. There is no everybody has to be in uniform. Now that i mean that that's not everywhere though. Cover calm i think undercover cop still exists quite. Well locate us question what. I don't know artist plan. They've ever come up with their people are dumb enough to believe it. Just tell them. There's no more undercover cops if you see somebody out of uniform. They're not a cop. Don't you worried you're drugs plot to kill your family. Which now they say that. These been watching a lot of that show stuff where the wives kill the husband and he disappeared for seventeen years. That's a little worse. Well what do you think that boston about. But i was walking out of the room the other day she watching it and it goes through commercial for a dating site. I want to say. It's called that hammer hinder. Or its design. Is that automatically delete or something like that like its existence off your phone if you go to is gone and i'm like they're playing this commercial. Well a bunch of women are sitting around watching the your husband shows. That's brilliant marketing right. I mean who else. I've never seen such a tie before with a commercial to. Actually you're watching like you know who really apt to cheat on their husband wife sitting around we'll be able to delete the evidence immediately like toward the zero evidence you ever had that dating site so How does it not delete itself. I don't adults say deletes itself. You delete it immediately. But there's no it's non traceable basically so it won't likely footprint or whatever because nothing truly delete off your crap right right close. This has a way of its. It's gone it never existed. You've never had that dating profile. Nothing i didn't like. I don't remember the think it's hinder. I want to say it's right destroyed. But i just thought that was funny. Oh my god. She's learning to kill me and she's got a frigging undercover dating site. One or the other no you. Because if i disappeared they're gonna look through her stuff to make sure she. Because i suspect i make sure. Yeah i yes. we're saying. The initial delete there. She doesn't need him then can regular tender right now. He's already got her boyfriend. Barry my body and they don't know how to find him damn it come on the right side. He can't see sounds like hinder is just because it hinder. Oh no it's called hint hinge. That's right a dating app designed to be deleted. Weren't they all I guess loses some kind of with that as a tagline metro piqued my interest on it in case michigan tech. It's like all right found the remnants of this dating app on your phone. That's more like so this is this is their mission statements as what we believe in today's digital world singles are so busy matching. They're not actually connecting in person weren't counts hinges on a mission to change that so we built an app that's designed to be deleted so andrew who went to get off thinning apps. Like i don't sense get that either. I said i guess that's well. It's probably not everyday nap because there are people dating apps just to be serial dater and so we'll do this hook. Everybody save everybody a lot of money. You don't have to switch over to that anything. If you own apple phone how when you learn this if you hold the at long enough it gives you the option to delete it then you delete it grow. I'm if i'm what find amazon you frigging other weird phone people. I don't know you're on your own. What addicted to my e reader..

Since the release of verified, a lot of people have been wondering what's been going on with Dino Mog Leo, so, what are you guys know? Hi everybody, so yes, there's been quite a few updates. We have received a document from Apple Court of Venice where it says that the first hearing for the appeal is set for the twenty of. These ear, it was supposed to be earlier, but because of the lockdown measures for coming nineteen was moved a bit later. This document was received by Kate's lawyer got Daniel and dairy. We can see that Dina Meyer receives these order to be present and hearing, and he receives his latter at Dj of Letcher like in prison. and. We were like I was going on. Does looks like in prison so we? Actually he had been arrested on. May on a Wednesday. Meyer head, being allegedly abusing his parents like doing domestic violence against them. For over a year, but on one point he. Had had like a sort of fine and fight with him over an issue that concerned. The fact that he had been seeing a girl like he had a girlfriend and wanted to spend time with her, even during the sought lockdown for covid nineteen, so there was this sort of discussion between the modern and the sun and she. Skirt the local reporter says she even had to leave the house or she had locked herself in in a different occasion, so at that point she decided to. The nuns went to the Carabinieri of Sorbo. Who? Arrested him and brought him to jail in nature. Right! Wow, that's there's a lot there to unpack, so you're telling me that in May. He was arrested again. He went back to jail and this time it was his mother who had called the police to report him because of domestic violence. And you're also telling me that he has a girlfriend was goes back to jail, and what happens then Giulio. Basically he spent in jail just ten days, and his lawyer got him out again and the reason why. Got Him out the main factor that. Allowed him to go out of jail again. Is that this new girfriend allowed him to stay at her place so basically? We're back to the same situation where where we were before. He still has a kind of. Obligated Demata, so he's forced to live now at the house off the up these new girlfriend but surely surely gives his lawyer a lot of work. I mean. There's always something going on. This is wild, so he was. His mom puts him back in jail. He's there for ten days. And then he goes to stay at his girlfriend's house. They let him go stay at his girlfriend's house now. This is a guy who's been convicted of serial rape Who is this new girlfriend? What do we know about this new girlfriend that he has the? "Hello and welcome Dino I'm Garrett and before we get into today's episode just a quick reminder we have our patriae on Sabrina ready to send out some art and if you want to be included make sure you're on our patriots on by the time we hit one hundred sixty patrons and you can sign up going to Patriot. Dot Com slash. I Know Dino. This week is a little unusual because we're dealing with some corona virus issues. Usually we try not to talk too much about news and political stuff and all that things. That aren't dinosaurs. Yeah we like to just talk about dinosaurs. Keep the podcast simple and a nice little escape from reality potentially or just insight into dinosaur reality. Maybe it's better to put it but Sabrina woke up today with one hundred and two degree fever. So we've slowed some things down and we've simplified the show a little bit else. I want mention a couple science based things about corona virus because there's a lot of misinformation out there and I feel like since a few thousand people listen to this. It's probably worth it to share some information so first of all things you shouldn't do if you have corona virus or are afraid of getting corona virus are holding your breath because there's this weird chain going around saying that if you can hold your breath that means you don't have corona virus. This is untrue. The people who supposedly set it have said that they did not ever make that claim. So don't hold your breath if you think you have symptoms of Corona virus. You need to contact a hospital or whoever your medical providers like we did today and they'll let you know ask you a bunch of questions and then maybe test you if you need to be tested or otherwise the probably just tell you to stay home isolated from other people so you don't infect other people in our case we're staying hole. Yep We're in the bay area so there's this mandatory staying home thing happening so we were already home anyway. But that's really a good idea. In general because social distancing as they call it helps prevent the spread of it helps slow down the cases and therefore it is less overwhelming to the system. So yeah definitely try to avoid contact with people if you can couple other things that you definitely shouldn't do our drink. Bleach try to make your own hand sanitizer out of vodka because it doesn't have enough alcohol in it and also drinking water constantly does not protect you those no mechanism to believe that the virus will be washed into your stomach acid by drinking water though. In general it's good to stay hydrated guests. Don't don't Dehydrate Yourself. That that's definitely not going to help either. I should also say that if you have corona virus and you're thinking I need to go public putting on a T. Rex inflatable costume is not proper personal protective equipment as the person who did it in Spain this week found yes and it also won't really protect you against getting the corona virus other than the fact that it would help you not touch your face because it's impossible to touch your face while you're zipped up in that thing unless you could sorta inhale your arm through the suit in a weird way. That clip though is pretty enjoyable. Police in the area posted the video of the person in this t rex. Stupid and they wrote during state of alarm walkie pets allowed if a company by one person always short walk so they can relieve themselves. Having a tyrannosaurus. Rex Nut covered. Hashed heck stay at home and they edited the clip or somebody edited the clip to include the theme song from Jurassic Park Entertaining. But not effective. I think I I do wonder it might help a little bit. Basically from preventing you touching your face but what happens. Is it just draws air through this fan like a bounce house you know? She's constantly pumping in air. So if there's any virus near that is going to get sucked in and blown into your confined space with you saw. Yeah it doesn't help that's rate. We are obvious in experts on it. So I'm just going to defer to the CDC on their recommendations basically the number one thing to do is to wash your hands often count to twenty while you're doing scrub under your nails. All around your hands elect good stuff and if you don't have soap alcohol sanitizer with at least sixty percent. Alcohol is what they recommend. And then if you can avoid touching your eyes nose and mouth which is virtually impossible. Everybody does it all the time without thinking about it. Which is why washing your hands so helpful because then there's nothing on your hands to infect.

"He turns to do something holds the lease talk. I don't see it I trip on it. I smack down onto the floor spill. The heart out dog grabs a heart and takes off with it and it wasn't a complex stunt but I had people texting me man. You made talk Suk. What does that because I wasn't watching? Talk Soup at the time but yeah it's been on their tough times. I'd like to talk just real quick. Do Minute or so about the crowd funding just to make sure we sell that home a little more. So you know the this. This project has been budgeted out and Dino is looking to raise that money Through crowdfunding and so we are hoping that people may WanNa kick in a few bucks and there are some incentives there on the side. You'll see them when you get to it and things that you can get a copy of the film and things like that but really what? We're hoping is that people want to see the story told and that they wouldn't mind kicking in a bit of money they have the ability and if and if nothing else sheriff share the website talking up. Let's if we could get people to want to do that if they can't financially contribute. That would be awesome just because the more word of mouth through social media so to speak. I really think that it can help people who may be able to to to kick in. And then that you've got a cast and crew they're getting paid and a solidly produced short and is going to be able to really scare you because that's what this thing is going to okay. Once again. That information will be in the show notes. So if you're interested in helping this project go to the show notes. Look for the link. And don't talk.

"When it in morocco one in australia and one just outside of rome when he died in two thousand ten at the age of ninety one he still had four movies stuck in various stages of development. Those are just some of the highlights but what was he really like. What was it like to work with dino dealer renta's my name is gino. Yes honey rubber tino. The anzani worked for the dealer renta's entertainment group as a chef at their wilmington north carolina studio in the mid nineteen eighties. I asked over tino how he got involved with the dealer rentis tests oh well. This is a long story and for rubber tino working for dino. De la renta's wasn't just another job. It was the fulfilment of a goal he had set for himself years earlier when he was a teenager growing up in puerto rico when i was a teenager i working <hes> a theater being baltimore dorigo. He was at the front taking tickets and not a member of any seven. They had movie king kong. The one meryl streep was too ugly for your don't worry. I heard she's doing fine these days. I don't remember it was a saturday night. It was so last show deny was eight o'clock and do people that can name with a uh. How are your mother with a fire or daughter and <hes> i was over time. Don't let nobody in the more because full. There's no malate and rubber. Albertino does not want to tell these two. They can't see the movie but he has no choice so he tells them. I'm sorry it sold out and i said please you know on the floor because of the tear policy knives what to do that can't make you and i'm sorry and she said please light cam from two thousand way i in a taxi and my daughter wanted the movie and i said you have to come back tomorrow. Because tomorrow we see it again and she said we we cannot come back tomorrow. Because because we don't have the money to come back we used probably competition and then the little girl starts crying and the mother is begging. Please let us in to see the movie and roeper tino for a second doesn't know what to do close. The door and i said i can't can't leave then he gets an idea. I say to them. Give me give me give me about couple minutes. I'll be right back closer and i went up there to projection room and annoying. When you know the progesterone it was a fan of mine or mainly roth and i knew he got a couple of seat their production and i just can't you. You don't mind if i bring people appear to use the shares. They're not gonna bother real girl with mother and he said yes okay yeah. You can bring them so he goes back downstairs and tells them i've got good news for you for you and the best he don't live here the fear you all by yourself. You can see the screen for the room while you know he was just like i made ah kong's life. I mean you know she holds onto. My vegas wanted me to go monday. She was so happy accordance with some room and combat coin point and close the door and even though fifty nine year old robert tino works at the movie theater. He still hasn't seen king kong yet so the movie starts the beginning. Then movie begins with jeff bridges goes into the boat than you know. The ship is talent pool enough. Deduct the pierre and then it happens. The name rent is present and that name kind of got me ever. Since i've done you know he got impact on me because it's almost out the movie theater whereas dino lerenius i saw the hollywood was chosen dino lawrence because also the movies where they know lorenzo that which elliptic gypsies and right there and then fifteen year old robert t know yanni sets a goal for himself so i said i one day. I meet a guiding person one day. I said a couple of years later. Robert joins the navy in nineteen eighty but let not before sending a letter to dino. I throw a letter to learn how about girl but he replied instead. It was his longtime assistant and translator who responded this starts a relationship and when robert tino gets out of the navy in nineteen eighty five. I got out of the navy story. That's dino's assistant that i needed a job and she said what the hell he has a movie studio north carolina you could come and working there and that's how robert tino came to work for the man he saw as synonymous with hollywood mr dino de la renta's. He went to work for dino's new studio. The dealer renta's entertainment group that had just opened in wilmington north carolina and make no mistake rubber tino really looked up to dino. He even kind kind of changed his name because of him he was gonna call him. He'd over tino because that's how you call up little robert and italian robert dino going over dino so i i i hope to that name okay so it's not a legal name change but you get the idea so what i wanted to know l. from rubber tino was what was it like to deal with dino on a daily basis. I met dana face to face. You'll have a few times. He was not nec- person to talk to. You got to be like candy good lou but then robert tino tells me this story that illustrates dino's worker but runtime that i was <hes> working women no messy for those of you who don't know or don't remember no mercy in nineteen eighty-six thriller starring richard gere and kim basinger and i came to the commentary and i found out that the kitchen was a mess and <hes> the people from the first ship lifting national like that and i was supposed to do cluster serve before then we'll be number and i was getting ready to go through the masa. Masa schumaker was dino. The lawrence rented girlfriend at the time moore schumaker was dino's producing partner and would marry dino in one thousand nine hundred ninety they remained together until dino's death in two thousand ten hour interview martha to let her know what the people in the first you've been done dating in the kitchen kitchen remodel thirty and i wouldn't complain to her kitchen laugh so he goes looking for martha put when he gets to her office. He doesn't find her instead. He finds dino now. Keep in mind at this point loyd dino. Dealer renta's is not just a producer but he is the head of an entire studio. Here is something i can help you. I didn't wanna say knocking him really one complaints about what happened but you know that was the kind of person who well he made the movie he was in boarding in the movie from a to z about everything and the screenplay did ecuador actors extras every little detail the movie he was in or what we wanna feed people today and when i who am i the net kitchen mess i know how he was so you know i knew i was going to get in trouble but as i was there and he you say to be yours told me so robert shows him they walk across the studio to the commissary and when dino sees the condition that the kitchen was left in his is reaction is not the best when he sold out the kitchen he say tomato but getting the phone call this morning and i said well no. I don't have homers and he said we were tomorrow morning when you come back i want you to come back to one of the morning. I'm telling everybody they're fire and just like that. They know has decided to fire his entire kitchen staff into you know we can we can talk. We can spoke at this hour. That's why you you know because the people in the morning there my friend awful you know. I mean i do not mean to goya fight. You know like we're you know he's back. When you have a you have to do your job and and how well you know he's a tweet over dino head and get ready for you to get on the truck and drive ten miles away. Robert tino has to drive to atlanta to the no mercy set but but that kitchen isn't gonna clean itself. He put an apron on he was doing this jason. This fi- it's fine i can do it. Just go ahead didn't go go back to the office. I it's fine. It's fine. I can do like no. He said all you gotta go. What would i combat. He'd be half for this stuff you know he i've finished it all by kim back on track in the morning and finish it up then. I'm trying to sweep it under the carpet. You know i didn't say nothing day so dino did the first half of the cleaning and then rubber tino did the other half of the cleaning and just in case. You're wondering nobody got fired tired but i i told her i told her you guys are. Here's you gotta do your job. I came in at four o'clock and everybody seems dirty. I had nothing ring here here with me. He was doing dishes so lesson learned for the kitchen staff. When you're working for dino you do your job. He was like for me. He's like a father a sample ohare work because you know if you were lawrence you gotta be there. I'll just do you even before he gets there. He was there every day every day. Six days a week hours today but as hard as dino was was working. Things weren't working out for his studio he had started. The dealer renta's entertainment group partly because he wanted more control. He was dissatisfied. How studios were releasing. An advertising rising is movies. After a string of disappointments like flash gordon in nineteen eighty dune in one thousand nine hundred four and year of the dragon in nineteen eighty-five he bought embassy pictures a company that distributes its own movies in one thousand nine hundred you start releasing his own movies now from his studio but nothing was hitting only only one movie crimes from the heart would end up grossing over twenty million dollars and worse big-budget disasters like type pan. This was the first american movie to shoot in communist communist china and had the censorship and production issues to prove it a period piece starring bryan brown type pan cost twenty five million dollars and only brought back to even king kong couldn't help a decade earlier rubino was dealing with sold out crowds for king kong but when dino brought back the giant ape for a second go around in one thousand nine hundred eighty six in a now forgotten sequel that was called king kong lives things turned out so badly. They didn't even provide clips for national reviewers. He's like good morning. America or cisco king kong lives so bad with studio knew it they did something unprecedented live roger film company companies actually said roger me letters thing they would let us show this up on our local t._v. Shows chicago's all here. We promise in writing not to show you the thing that's on the financial show obviously they were scare and obviously neither one of us with time such a letter solve off from qinghong list of the public service and staff jump to this warning if you don't believe me or roger believes a film company klay single one and this brings us back to where we started. Do you know seeing being a line of people wanting to buy a lottery ticket and the movie idea he got from it and just what was that idea rugen. Dollar harvester is the most rewarding movie ever made it yourself misery. You can win. One million dollars. Cash million dollar mystery rated p._g. Starts friday june wealth at it beaters everywhere. That's right million dollar. Mystery wasn't just a movie. It was a chance to win a million dollars. It was a lottery ticket turned into into a feature film. The story was basically a rip off of. It's a mad mad mad mad world here. We have a white house aide who steals four million dollars from the government and makes a run for it while on the lam stops at a diner and has a heart attack as he lays dying he tells the patrons and the diner about his stolen fortune four million bucks in four places a million the needs from there. It's every diner customer for himself as they scramble to find the money i three times in the movie. A character finds the million dollars and each time they lose a case pops open and the money blows away but that last million dollars is still out there and during the end credits a clue who is given to the audience is defined it not really though you submitted your answer and whoever had the correct responses to where the money was hidden was the winner. No one was actually expected to go driving around the country looking for a giant garbage bag full of cash. Yeah that's right. It was a giant garbage bag full of cash cash. You see there was a promotional tie-in going on with the movie million dollar mystery with glad they were rolling out there in new glad lock bags and what better way to get the word out then with a movie that was really a lottery and maybe it was really a commercial after all the movie poster itself did feature glad bags stuffed with cash cash. You knew it was a glad bag after all because the glad logo was right on it and that dying guy and the diner that's none other than glad spokesman. Tom bosley early in fact. You didn't even have to see the movie to get in on the million dollar. Giveaway flathead entry forms on every box of garbage bags. I i don't want to oversell. Its importance to the dealer. Renta's entertainment group put dino did think it was going to be a big success spent ten million dollars making it though he didn't bother to hire hire any big stars to be in it other than tom bosley. You might know these in one season s._n._l. Player tall and there was a small part for a relatively unknown unknown. Kevin pollack dino rationalized making million dollar mystery this way this ship. Y'all got to play except the with the disappearance shift given away when she danced. I think that quote from dino was taken from a nineteen eighty-nine spy magazine article detailing the literal and figurative misfortunes of the dealer rentis entertainment tamer group and full disclosure that was not really dino saying but rather a very bad end kind of entertaining impression and that's for audiences they opted to not see this piece of shit million dollar mystery would end up grossing nine hundred and eighty nine thousand dollars less the one million dollars they gave away and certainly way under the ten million dollars. They spent to make it as for the movie itself well. They probably really belonged in a garbage bag by nineteen eighty-seven the dealer rent is entertainment group was over sixteen million dollars death. He was forced out of his own company which ended up being sold to carolco pictures in nineteen eighty-nine. A number of movies made for dino's company would have to wait to be released by other companies who ended up buying their rights. The longest waiting period was a movie called rampage. William freed can psychological thriller that was filmed in one thousand nine hundred six and didn't get a release in the the united states until nineteen ninety-two some speculated that dino's problem was that as a producer he could get his movie funded presell the foreign markets markets and collect his million dollar producers fee and let the studio worry about whether or not it made money as a studio head. He now had overhead costs that he never had to deal with before things like movie prints and advertising. When it was all over dino would land on his feet he always did he resumed his producing career and kept on making movies until his death in two thousand ten rubber tina would leave the dealer renta's entertainment group too but stayed in touch with his mentor and father figure dino after you now passed away rubber tino would make more than cup of coffee and poor one for dino as well. <unk> rent is in my in my living room and i knew do you like coffee and fessel every morning so every morning i when i make coffee. I put a cup for him in front. He's fisher. I celebrate coffee coffee every day and when i looked at the compass is lesser than what i put there so you know maybe sometimes it operates science. Would you expose aaron air. He would operate like some kind of say that maybe before i pass away. I can do something then in two thousand thirteen hours now jacksonville florida rubber tino is staying at a hotel that a friend of his own hometown in free nice hotel at at least that's always nice now. I wanna let you know things are about to get a little weird. One day i get up. I opened my eyes ice. I'm i found out that i will tell you that i see but i thought i saw three three goes in front of me and i myself i usually you sweep three pedals through one at them and i never seen before. She was like a three being in front of me looking at me and i call it myself ourselves and i said you know maybe medication. Reaction should be noted that rubber tino has diabetes and takes medication for it. I was scared to look again. I fall asleep group against the morning when i go. I still always i was doing. I put a show that i was dreaming but when i got up i saw that little right without do it well well. You know i'm partial right now seem to go that was dreaming. There's a barrel right there. I threw a fellow so the next morning river tino talks to his friend and tells her about what happened the night before how he was sleeping in the middle of the night he woke up and saw three ghosts and then threw a pillow at them and <hes> she told me too many percocet because i'll be taking percocet for pain. You're taking too much medication. I said no no. I know i take medication additional. I never seen before rubber. Tino is certainly not the first person to see what may or may not have been a ghost in a hotel room so what exactly happened of course we don't really know what i do. Know is that of the three ghosts he saw two of them. Were women and the last one was dino. He hasn't seen the goes since then but the incident has stayed with them but we're not done yet and it's getting a little weird or now in two thousand eighteen team still with the ghost. If dino renaissance mind rubber tino got in touch with bob. Bob wagner is the host of something called celebrity liberty ghost box on youtube. What you're hearing is mr wagner's attempt to contact spirit of denote deta rentis jess dino della rentis. This is your token here what you see when you watch. This video is darkened room table with candles and morlet candles are added as the videos on this candle is for you. Please use that candle as a beacon to come forward and lastly. There is the main attraction a large machine of some kind that looks like in one thousand nine hundred forty s radio. That's where all the static you're hearing is coming from and that's what spirit may or may not be using to respond to mr wagner's questions. My name is bob wagner. I'm from wagga right t._c. As he ask questions words flash on the screen most of the time it's random cryptic things like i'm not dead or we're out of here and you are pretenders watching this video. Sometimes i could understand with the voice. Coming out of the box was saying but most of the time. I couldn't eventually mr wagner dino about that night in jacksonville three years ago. Robert tino had seen three phantoms in a hotel..
