Seth Dillon of the Babylon Bee Joins Trish to Talk Censorship

"I couldn't think of a more perfect guest to have on this program than my friend Seth Dillon the CEO of baby on be a company that has seen its share of shadow banning and full out banning. Seth, welcome to the program. Thanks for having me on. So I love your website. You know that. I've told you that many, many times before. I need that sort of levity, right? Given everything that's going on. But you guys went through a two double L and back over the last couple of years, like many of us did, but what was unusual about your situation? And I'd like you to speak to it a little bit. I also want to talk a little bit about the business of conservative media with you because you are such a entrepreneur on that front. You've had to deal with this censorship in a way that is pretty extraordinary, even when it comes to humor. What's up and like? Well, I mean, we faced a number of challenges with our humor. One of the things, which is kind of a funny one that doesn't really fit in with the censorship, but it has been a challenge nonetheless, is that half the time we make these jokes, they end up coming true. And so you have the situation where they're fulfilled prophecies instead of punch lines. We have a spreadsheet where we're tracking them now. We have like 90 plus jokes that have come true, which is just kind of a crazy sign of the times. I don't know if that's funny or disconcerting. I guess you can look at it either way. Just concerning, for sure. You guys. You guys are futurists in a way. Yeah, but you know, it started out for us, the censorship really started, we experienced it in 2018 initially, you know, Facebook was facing a lot of pressure to crack down on misinformation. Basically, the idea was Zuckerberg was responsible for Trump getting elected because he let conservatives talk too much. You know, God forbid, conservatives have a platform. You might end up with a Republican getting elected. So, you know, they were trying to crack down on the spread of misinformation. They started fact checking things. They started working with partners like snopes. And next thing you know, we ended up getting our jokes fact checked. We had the first one that was a really big deal was the CNN purchases industrial sized washing machine to spin the news before publication. That was a joke of ours, which is just silly. And it's like the image there is just this big washing machine with a CNN logo across the front of it. Snopes rates at falls, Facebook threatens to kick us off the platform if we keep spreading fake news. So, you know, we've been ever since then when that started, we were dealing with this issue of our jokes continually getting fact checked, getting flagged for incitement to violence, getting flagged for hateful conduct.

Dinesh Reflects on Ronna McDaniel’s Pyrrhic Victory

"Ronna mcdaniel has been reelected as the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee. I was hoping that would not be the case. I don't normally get very involved in these kinds of races, but I think I felt as well as Ron DeSantis did that when you got an operation that is consistently losing, reducing bad results. Think of a corporate CEO's got bad earnings for four years in a row. And ronna mcdaniel produced bad results in 2018, 2020, 2022. Now I'm not saying this is single handedly her fault, but the Republican National Committee is in fact the organization that is in charge. Of managing the strategy for the GOP for the Republican Party in elections. It's got resources to do it. It's got the strategic ability to do it. It is involved in races across the country. So who else are you going to blame if not the RNC? Our meat Dillon, my friend army Dylan, a fellow Dartmouth grad, and harmony has been on the podcast before. I've also interviewed her in my book 2000 mules. And Harvey is great and her meat ran as a kind of resistance candidate, a candidate of the grassroots, and the final vote was something like a hundred or so votes for Verona, about 50 votes for her meat, and just a handful of votes for Michael lindell. It was kind of the wild man in the race.

Inflation in Europe slows again, hitting 9.2% in December

"Europe's ended a bad year for inflation, with some relief as price gains is again. Fresh data indicates the worst might be over for weary consumers battling with the surging cost of living, although consumer prices still rose a painful 9.2% in December, the EU agency eurostat says the consumer price index for the 19 countries that use the Euro currency rose in that month at the slowest pace since August. It's the second straight decline in inflation since June 2021 energy price rises slowed, while food press gains held fairly steady. Charles Dillon, London

Packers defeat Rams 24-12 to keep playoff hopes alive

"The Green Bay Packers kept their playoff hopes alive by beating the Los Angeles Rams 24 12 out of 15° Monday night at Lambeau Field. AJ Dillon rushed for a pair of scores Aaron Jones catching an Aaron Rodgers touchdown. Rogers on the 6 and 8 packs still with a heartbeat. We've got two. Got two in the bag. I knew that we had to win 5. And then have a lot of things go our way. So we won two, and just about everything we've needed to happen has gone our way, just about, right? So things are looking up. Baker Mayfield made his first LA start, but the depleted offense produced only a 156 yards. He got sacked 5 times the defending champs officially out at four and ten, Mark Daniels, Green Bay.

Twitter Is Awesome Again With Babylon Bee's Seth Dillon

"Tell us about what's going on with Twitter and I understand you guys got your Twitter account back. We're back, man. It was a long time coming. We were, you know, when we got banned initially, or at least locked out our account, we weren't permanently banned. We were locked up, required to delete a joke that the Twitter considered to be hateful conduct back in March earlier this year. And honestly, we never expected to get back to the Twitter. I mean, who expects that when you get locked out by the powers that be, that they're going to change their mind. Of course, they're not going to change their mind. You need something else to come in and disrupt things and change things up. And in our case, the richest man in the world happens to be a fan and friend of ours and came to our rescue. So I'm not sure that everybody can count on that, but it was cool. I think that we played a role in the decision making process that went into his bid to buy Twitter and that we're now benefiting from him taking over. Yeah, and so now Donald Trump has his Twitter account back and there's all sorts of different changes happening over the weekend. Kind of give us an update for everyone listening. What changed with Twitter over the weekend? All you had must come out and say freedom Fridays on Twitter kind of teasing the fact as a spoiler alert that he was going to be setting some people free. And it seems to have extended beyond Friday. He's unlocked a number of the cast. I just saw that James Lindsay was unlocked. Project veritas has been unlocked. Of course, obviously Trump was unlocked in response to that poll that he ran. So it's been unclear. Unclear to a lot of conservatives, a lot of people on the right who felt like their voices has been suppressed and silenced and taken away. It was unclear exactly what Musk was going to do about that. It's still unclear, I think, how he's going to handle these issues broadly speaking for just your average Twitter user, but it is extremely encouraging to see him coming in and lifting the ban hammer on some of these bigger accounts that had been suspended for really just silly ridiculous reasons.

An Election Day Suppression Operation

"Bill Gates was asked the question, hey, why does it take ten days to count votes? Play cut 7. Today they're working on reconciling the election day ballots with check ins. They're also counting up all the right in votes and finally their processing the ballots with signatures that have been cured since the deadline of 5 p.m. on Wednesday. That's what election integrity looks like. Oh, she's lecturing us about election integrity. He's saying that election integrity means taking ten days to count your ballots. But again, it begs the question, what changed, exactly? And now you might say, oh, Charlie, what difference does it make? It's not that big of a difference. This is a monumental difference. 200 and 48,000 people voted in person on election day. 248,000 people. How many people were turned away because of the one hour line, the two hour line that started because of this sabotage machine malfunction and failure that happened in the way of voting that conservatives have a preference to vote more than any others. By the way, we're looking at just a half of percentage of results. We're talking about the current tally has Carrie Lake down so slightly. Kerry Lake currently in the tally down 17,000 428 votes down .6%. In the attorney general's race, it's a statistical tie and Abe holiday is down 850 votes. You see, when you create bedlam and chaos with machines all across the valley, people are less likely to go vote. It is an election day suppression operation.

The Big Question That NO ONE Can Answer

"To dive into this Arizona attorney general's letter. I'll be honest, this letter is a lot more forceful than I would have anticipated it is from Mark berner and Jennifer Wright to Thomas liddy, the civil division chief from the Maricopa County attorney's office. And it goes into great detail one after the other asking some questions. And the biggest question that no one can answer, the question that is outstanding that no one can pinpoint is why is it that the machines were working perfectly fine on November 7th, everything was great and then on the morning of November 8th in Maricopa County. The machines just stopped working. Now for some of you that are watching online, you might not understand the significance of this. The significance of all of this is as follows. The way that Maricopa does its elections is that you show up and you check in and you can forfeit your mail in ballot because Arizona has a lot of mail in ballots. And then they print you a new ballot to actually go print to actually go vote in person. That's right. They have to vote, they have to print you a new ballot on site so you could vote in person. They printed out right there. Then they have to run the ballot through the machine after you have filled out that ballot. Now, according to the official line of Maricopa County, according to the official line of the largest county in Arizona, where 62% of all voters live in Maricopa County, according to them, it was just a toner issue. It was just a matter of getting the toner settings right. And by one or two in the afternoon they got it all figured out. Now, the machines and the printers have a network administrator that really the question is, who is this administrator then?

Joe DiGenova and Victoria Toensing Return to Discuss the 2022 Midterms

"This little clip from our body. One of the few good people left at Fox, Jesse waters. So what's going on here? Elections used to be decided on election night. American Idol can handle millions of votes in a commercial break, but it takes Arizona, Nevada a week. None of it makes sense because they don't want the system to make sense. The longer some of these races drag out for, the better it is for Democrats. Because they've created a system centered around ballots, not votes. It's not about winning your vote anymore. It's not about persuading you. It's about flooding the state with as many ballots as possible and getting them filled out Democrat. So here's my thesis. And the title of the article was the 2022 anti election. Because it wasn't an election. We didn't go to the polls and then choose the candidate we thought was best. Basically, one side mobilized ballot collection for weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks, and if you look at Pennsylvania, 50 days of voting, half of the votes were cast before federman debates, Doctor Oz, so that's an election. It's simply the mechanics of collecting lots of pieces of paper, having them filled out. So my contention is an I don't know if it's bad of me to say this, whether it's undemocratic of me or against Republican values, our job is to out organize the Democrats. If we can't, if they have gone for 50 days of voting and mail out ballots, well, we just have to be better at that game. No, but let me point something out to you. What political party was the governor of Arizona for the last four years? Well, I know, because when Joe and I worked after the 2020 election. When I meet Dillon on the show on Wednesday after the election and she's in Arizona and the RNC warham and she's trying to explain to me how the GOP ran out of printer cartridges on election day and I assure you something the DNC wouldn't run out of cartridges to print ballots for their voters on election day, right, Joe. No question about it. We were out organized outspent out harvested out ballot collecting. I mean, the GOP has to completely redo its model because of mail out batting balloting. Which agreed to. Probably can't fix, right? We can't fix the law. We can't return to one day voting. Once it's the law, it's the law. And the

Yeah, I do actually talk about him. I also wrote about him in my book, Johnny, on Johnny Cash. Funny thing you talk about recognizing celebrities. So I was working on this documentary film about Johnny, and I watched some interviews with Chris that were more recent. So I flew out, came back to LAX. I'm walking to my car. I see this guy from the back and somehow I recognize him from the back. From the back. See, that's next level crazy stuff. That's like, that's like Holy Spirit stuff. Flesh and blood is not capable of recognizing somebody from the back, you're telling me you're not kidding from the back, you said, I think that's Kris Kristofferson. Yeah. So I walked over and I said, oh, Chris, and Greg Laurie, I've written this book and I held up my Johnny Cash book, and I said, and I quote you in the book, Chris, and I'd love to send you a copy. Jenna Ellis: 'It's a Great Day for Free Speech'

"Yesterday, Elon Musk bought Twitter. That sounds like a joke. It's like a Babylon bee headline. Elon Musk zillionaire bought Twitter for 67 gazillion dollars. Do you have any thoughts on that today the day after this happened? Because I find myself feeling generally like, hey, that's a great thing. But there's a I just have a lot of questions about it. I just wondered if you had any ideas about it. Oh, it's a great day for free speech, and it is absolutely a great thing. And I think ironically, you mentioned Babylon B and that seemed to be the catalyst when the Babylon be the satire site was suspended on Twitter. Elon Musk, of course, had done that interview with about one B loves all of their work and started talking to Seth Dillon, who's the CEO. And actually had a conversation with him saying, should I offer to buy Twitter? I mean, this is ridiculous. And so what the left is melting down over in people who are so concerned that somehow billionaire Elon Musk is owning Twitter when they didn't really care that Jack Dorsey was running Twitter, then what they're concerned about is that Elon Musk has openly said that he is a free speech absolutist and that he hopes that people who disagree with him will stay on the platform because that's what free speech means. So I think this is a watershed moment in American history because we have not only the government that's forbidden by the constitution to infringe on constitutionally protected speech and free speech. But we've seen that the tech oligarchs have gotten around that and private companies have censored public forums and with Elon Musk saying I'm going to buy one of the top 5 platforms V top platform for political speech. This is going to revolutionize what we can actually discuss and debate

"In the Chevy camp. I think Eric Warren moving over to that role was really pushed for that and done a good job getting all of us in line to be able to make our cars faster. We had to do something and I think, you know, like I said, a big push and effort goes to Eric Warren, Jim Campbell. Everybody at Chevrolet is trying to get us in line, so we would be, you know, the first one so with this next gen car out front and making it better, you know, RCR did a really good job from the beginning, have jumping on and being positive for this car and trying to make it as best we can instead of complaining and just go to work on it and make it drive better each and every weekend. Awesome, we're going to take a couple of calls from some fans here at 8 four four NASCAR NBC. We'll start with Chandler and Indiana Chandler. You're on with Austin Dillon. Go ahead. What's your question? Hey, there all how you doing, man? Doing good. Just hanging out in North Carolina. I'm watching a turkey walk around in my backyard. We have that same thing here in Indiana too, man. Austin, I know third place looks disappointing to you, but I feel like that's a great start. You know, to you and Richard Childress trace. And so look at how you guys have been this year with this new next gen car. What are you guys expecting later this year in 2022? Well, I mean, with what we've learned early on this season, I feel like we've had more opportunities as a team at RCR to win races this year. We're looking back in years past and my cup career, you know, I can count 5 opportunities in a year that I really feel like, you know, we'd circle those tracks and have a chance to go win. And now week in and week out, I feel like I'm more confident going to the track knowing that if we do our job set up wise that we can get ourselves to the front with an opportunity to win because ultimately winning races, you know, you don't have to have the fastest car every weekend to win. If you put yourself in position enough, you can take home a trophy. So the two top 5s that we've had a second and the third place and I think we could have probably had a second place if it goes green right there at the end or even a window. Things pay out a little bit differently at Fontana and Martinsville, one of those could have definitely brought home a trophy for us, but I'm really proud of the effort, like I said at RCR and feel good at the places we're.

"Me to listen to with what we want you to hear us wherever you get your pockets coming to the end of stage to at the race at michigan this accident involving austin and brad kazlauskiene austin dillon's belts say it. I mean i'll admit. What did i. I got on a private talkback and i ask. Jeff jeff what exactly that. Just see right. It was shocking. Probably the best moment though is when we saw austin dillon. Climb out of that car. It really took my breath away joining us to discuss this and a lot more of the race yesterday. Pizza sony from the morning drive on sirius. Xm radio so pete first of all thanks for joining us. Let's touch base on that rack. That had to be a big topic. Good discussion with the fans today. Because i'm not really sure what i thought the window really was and you know i've seen myself. Obviously it's on happened alive yesterday. When i was watching it on nbc. And you know. I heard the jar brad. In i'll dean was purposeful by any means and some listeners. May be kind of felt that way. I don't think so. I heard the audio from austin apologizing. I know people to like this like the point. The finger because controversy is what people like in sports. I just use kind of one of those racing deals. I don't really see any fault on either side but also can't tell you that i'm not continue to scratch my head. Was they were so far past. Start finish line. That's what really struck me. There as you said carbon was. Okay do today. What i did yesterday. Which is gonna lick to my left at two drivers your tell me what happened because i couldn't figure it out yesterday. Know watching it yesterday. I said the only thing that i thought that austin really had a major beef about is why is brackets lousy. Still in my panel. This far down the straightaway. I had a conversation with brad little bit ago. And it all got a lot more clear to me. He thought because the information coming to him because the sem day that he says was a lap behind he thought he was coming to the one to go at the end of the state so he thought they had left to go so he was trying to hang on the right rear quarter panel pulling back to try to passing back in turn one so that all makes perfect sense because he was my world. Why are you so close. And then it's rough when you go below that white line. Those big bumps also car came up a little bit. I think you hit those bumps. it came up trying to sidra him to get back to and get into turn want to try to get back by and he thought they were coming to one to go into sage and after he told me that. I'm like oh well that clears it up now. Understand that makes way more sense understanding that information. Well it makes more sense. It's still is not good for also now veasley in that situation. Whatever may have happened pete. How about this aside from that. What were the fans talking about. As far as the racing this there was a big change to put this package together to make the racing more competitive only type tracks. Are they liking what they're seeing. It's interesting dj. Because i don't have the official tally but it really felt like with bagman either smarty. The majority of the listeners really like the racing mentally. It's different to your point. We know it's a different package. We know the horse our is is lower. We know that drafting become such a big part of this. You know we heard some of the drivers. Saying i mean the where the race ryan blaney saying. I really don't like the rates this way. But this is how you have the race but the end of that race. The last ten laps more just really really in my opinion a lot. Recently you guys have over. The years at michigan international speedway it was there was going from start to finish their yesterday where i personally thought it was a really good race so i think the fans again. A lot of them are split. I think social media kinda here. One thing. But i can tell us on sirius nascar radio. A lot of folks really liked that race and they were surprised. Rhyme lady was in position to win the race at the end on. The a lot of people had lady as their winter that race. But you know what he did everything he had to do to to victory lane and turned out that way for him yesterday afternoon. There and the irish shells i will say that What i liked about a dj was that it still took good cars. What i mean by that is sometimes you go to talladega. And i don't want to call it completely up in the air because that's unfair to the talent of the drivers who are out there doing job but immediately i think the equipment is more equal there than any other race track and michigan. It wasn't equal. There was still fast cars and slow cars. I think that helped me enjoy the race because not anyone could lead. You still have to fight your way to the front. Can i say this about what drivers say about the raising. And i appreciate you saying that. This is what we have to work with jeopardy. You'll remember back many years ago but as we were transitioning from by slot cars to radio tires. Did any of us like what a radio tire felt like. We had to work with me and ain't so we went job the best that we could. Well that's how i look at it. I mean they make the rules. Nascar does right. The drivers have to work with those rules are gonna drive over. They have to drive hoochies at the set. The cars.

Down would be up to the task. Here's how you here's how you do it. You seem star wars. You just wrap way. We got him so like you don't have to do too many. But they're they're s- bride they are but the thing is they're big and slow would feel the t. Rex gets you once it's over but they gotta get you with their feet And their spurs. Nadia the minnie's or would you. I'm taking the real then. There's zero percent chance i could beat a t. rex even if anything that size. It's it's gonna. I'd be up for the traffic that size with a gun. There's few calibers of rifles on earth that would penetrate that much feathers at that size. What really yeah. I don't know that much size. Like even show up with a nice big tank came tank takes you take roles now that that was my last one. Okay good good thank you. I really appreciate. These are like half of them. Were about birds and like of paper. That last night has made up as you could tell on the fly. Because i'm earns. I just thought it was good dylan. Yep have you heard about mc flurries. He noted mcflurry is i do i do eat firs sometimes rarely i. What did i pick one up from. My wife often dishing flurries. yes okay. What's her like flavor of oreo. That's the only one the only correct answer hats classic one To much it's too much chocolate. Too much biting orioles. Scientists were like yeah smooth. I will get a plane mcflurry with no toppings in it. Sometimes what you dislike vanilla ice cream. No but i like sometimes. I still want to chew stuff. Yeah okay what are we going with this. I'm just curious Orioles mind my pick orioles. Yeah on hunter every time time we were you. Have you ever been there when it's broken down every other time so your question. How about you know. Every time it's broken. Every time i mean like often. I mean for reasons. I stopped going because i was like. I'm so here's why i ask is because i'm lactose intolerant. So i don't know this is like a barrier. I'm not familiar. Sure i am too. So i i think certain maybe even very much so this battle with mcflurry. He's apparently it breaks down more often than not is what i'm out percent right. My theory is that the teenagers that work there when you go there and they're like trying to clean up they're like broken then i don't wanna do. That's my theory is don't mess with their things. That's there's something there. I think that happens a lot. I'd be curious. The percentage of times so. I don't know if you've heard this. But there's an alleged lawsuit outright now about the mcflurry. Oh gosh sound me involved in this class action Apparently they alleged the company's mcdonald's ice cream machines intentionally are designed by flawed code to profit from the repairs of the machine. Wow that's a way. Better conspiracy theory right. That's what i'm saying. They have a couple reasons behind this. So there's a company called. I don't know how to say this guy. So i apologize. Okay sounded out. I feel like deo. Great joe you there. Thank you research. Tell me how to say this. This sounds like a bad term for somebody coach. I don't like the term k. Wide t. c. h. It's probably kids. School with kids for this sake is not. I don't like saying it. I don't like hearing. don't go with kitsch all right. So kick Apparently this is the company that developed a device that makes it easier for mcdonald's employees to repair the machine k. but in a recent lawsuit which alleged that taylor which is the original maker year old girl working there. Not not taylor down mcdonagh's They apparently alleged that they taylor. Designed a flawed code that causes the machine to malfunction in order to profit from the repairs makes sense. Mcdonald's yeah is an evil corp you think that's gained. There's some truth by and then i bet would not doubt that really if they're going to a lawsuit with freaking mcdonald's. There's some evidence that's true. You think they're gonna win. Though i mean. I know mcdonalds mcdonalds. Ain't know what they're selling. Their lawyer team is stack when you're a big corporation like that. Yeah i think they lose. Because number that i hope the lady that sued for the coffee beans. That was at mcdonald's but that was actually a winnable suit intentionally made it eight trillion degrees on purpose because of her analysis. Caution maybe that that lady gets a lot of crap for that and she had like she severely. Traffic's yeah. That was a decent lawsuit burned. You can't get by mcflurry bro. Yeah but if it doesn't work every time well then why have on the menu. That's advertise emphasis the problem. They're profiting from the repairs. The only is what this company sank so kicked the countries that is really isn't for an evil corp. yes so the company that stating this that kitsch. They have been granted. A temporary restraining order to keep taylor the company themselves from actually stealing the product that helps them fix who their machines. So taylor well they can make a ton of money off that so while writing coded okay hitch could make it because taylor was the one that is making the excuse. Me defected machine. Nearly so kids came in and said we know how to fix it. We're not letting you know how to fix it. Though on you have a restraining order against us to figure out how to not figure out how it's been fixed basically are devices. Whatever they've made basically kids makes a bazillion dollars a year fixing those fishing. The machine right because of this product or process that they've learned because it's so shane. I mean it is literally a meme current me about the ice cream machines which means it happens. A lot to everyone knows it's super weird broken. Yeah so did you know that the mcflurry was when mcflurry was introduced. I'll give you that. No can i guess to the nineties. Well me give me more. Is it in the nineties. Yeah gimme a year. Who was born in nineteen ninety. Congratulations why was the first. I would guess. Nineteen ninety five or ninety six. Okay maybe ninety nine finance no final gimme is always digging gimme Answer is ninety six mcflurry in a food fight though.

"Trying to say. A good visualization kind of auditorium. Actually i can kind of see your music like as i listened to it that means. That's like what i shoot for but I have a just a brilliant one of my best friends. Is david solomon ray. He's my producer so all the tones and sounds like that's all him on this an absolute gene genius. Where did you guys meet at the church. I go to so yeah. We've been friends for a long time. And he's the one that actually like heard me seeing a little bit and he's like band of like written stuff. Mike yeah and i had some old demos self produced long time ago and it's like did you should release something like you want to produce it. And he's like. Yeah so. I've never worked with a producer that is it's such. I don't know what the word would be like symbiotic it's like i'll send him just voice it like with this song. I was working at costco in the meat department. And i in the freezer cooler with like you know the of the cooler would be like a note. You know booze and would find myself just seeing this done on the down on. Don't don't ban on a ban on atalanta on a voice memo that to him. Incented over. I was like i don't know what key this should be in half the song written already. So i'll i'll just do that. I'll either come up with a basic chord progression on the piano. If i have the lyrics and then we'll go to his house. He has awesome will studio Basement studio and man. He's just such so gifted with music. Theory and production and say. I want to feel like this. Is what the drums to kind of do this and i want. You know this. This and he's like oh like this. He's got it already. There's been so many times. I've like i love that. Like little leads. Sin thing but what if it and he and he'll finish the sentence and say like this and he'll like and you're just like yeah so him and i are very very locked in it's the easiest. It's been like absolute joy. Good to to have him. I mean in terms of oh somebody. You do bizarre somebody. You compose with somebody. It's important to have kind of a like mindset. Writing kind of i mean. i'm. I'm trying to write my own musically and like i've realized i don't have that producer skilled that i feel like i think i should you know what i mean like. I know what i want. But i can't find it. You know where it would be nice if somebody was like. Oh you mean this dude. He's he's so gifted man and you know he's so encouraging like i don't have the best singing voice yet i know what style works with it and he'll like help me to trust in what i can do like. No no trust me like it's great. What are you composed. Are you record in logic logic. His every plugging known to man yeah. He's very frugal person with his money. But he's he spends his money on ins those go along way one salman. If you're listening to love you to bits thank you that's awesome. He's great he's i. He's getting a lot of work but he'll take other other he'll take on other projects. I'm pretty sure. But he's he's amazing. He's yeah he's all your music. All of it doesn't cool the everything i've actually released. Yeah what was your first. Ep coal euphoria forever says it's such a cool name to me. Thanks man and did the same value. Your album work no so guy. The young and sick is the gentleman. Follow him on instagram. He's he's incredible yeah. Cookies have this collective effort towards your cause of. It's really cool. Man like people would qassam and he does All the production for the church we go to fresh life church and fresh life worship and so for him to take time out of his schedule Young sick like i'd hit him up on instagram. I was like man. I've been a huge fan of yours for years. Like thanks for doing what you do. And he actually responded. That's grown into a friendship and it's it's awesome. That people would care about you. Know a little music startup. it's been it's been amazing. I mean it must be when they listen to a day miano relate to like i do and here it in you know. It's it's cool man. I mean you got a cool voice. And i like the sound that you guys can overlay on top of it and thanks me. Yeah means a great deal to me. It's hard to put out art. It is but it's and it's harder to like put out art that you kind of want to cross that line of like. Is it something that i like or is it something that everybody's gonna like or can find that balance right now and yeah. It's it's something else. But i like it i think you you got your own style and appreciate it to see what you do in the future. Yeah we've got a pink seven or eight songs coming out this year cool so instead of doing an album. I just heard like it's a bunch of singles budget singles. Yeah and i think that's what spotify kinda wants you to do and that allows me to like we've got a single give it two months put out another one and really because it as a newer artists virtually zero fan base. It's like if. I just put an album of eight songs. It's like hey. I need you to care about this. And no one's going to and that's just that's not a cynical thing it's just true you know like putting paying money for ads on spotify of like swipe up to go to spotify this. How many times have you got an ad for a song from somebody. You don't know and you actually do that or if you do you. Listen to five seconds. I hate this lose their algorithm numbers up. So i hey could you take three minutes. Maybe give this song shot. Come to my instagram. If you like the party. I'm trying to create over there. Maybe go listen to the song. So that's the goal. This year keeps it. Fresh keeps content.

"People that you like in your lyrics people. Most of my songs are about this personal stuff. I'm going through. And like my my first release was under my actual name dylan deeds and i debated on releasing it under dc or dylan deeds. But i was going through a severe anxiety. Severe like black hole. Depression and i was journaling in that time. Through all of what. I was feeling and going through and stuff and i turn those journal entries into four songs and i felt like well. This is very very very personal. Some releases under my actual name dylan deeds. Which you'll hear a couple. I think a few of those songs cool so yeah and then with this new album like therapy medication. Great circle of people around me. I'm in a way better place than i was a couple years ago. So i felt it was time to make that switch and actually released stuff under the dc mon- occur which is where i'm going to release everything in the future. Oh so yeah the change. I guess other than was that like a nickname. Dt or do you see Yeah i had one friend in high school. That would call me little. And i kept like coming back to it because the last name defeats means ruler of the people on my gosh which is such an arrogant cool. I'm tons of norwegian blood okay. Same story bros. Do you have left. Set thanksgiving now. Have you had left. I have okay now. But no i wish not right now but to d like the last name is like very arrogant ruler of the people so like dc is kind of like humble spin of that. And it's i that like housi- you know is another artist. Dt postie dt just feels good. So like the i like. I like the I guess references. Also that it's your last name to the fact that it's part of you you know right also means this ruler of the people but also damage your last name. That's pretty dope. My brother's name is derek defeats. Derek means ruler. Deeds means rulers. Ip ruler the ruler. Yeah he's the he's the. What is it kyla arrogant. He's really yeah they go to the best. I don't think so twin okay. But i am older by fourteen minutes. Sorry you broke my condenser for just shattered. My condenser we. Fourteen identical yeah. Shot out to his so stays. Aim as fast me. Music runs in the family. Or is it just something you guys picked up. I think it's just something him. And i picked up for for whatever reason grew up. Play music together bands. All that kind of stuff. So he's the man i love him to bits. That's cool. Yeah you guys have like an instrument you play drums playing drums for eighteen years. He's been playing guitar for longer than that. You got two thirds of a ban there. Oh yeah you guys have a bunch of bands. We had a bunch of growing up all all terrible. Gimme the whole. Give me the best band and you guys had dared. Dates in the pathetic was pretty good. I like most successful run. Was a band called storms of attica. Which was like a progressive metal odd time signatures jazz. That was in two thousand nine like in the spokane washington seen and that was a lot of fun. Hell yeah we thought we were gonna get signed. That was a big thing back then so popular now maybe kind of like the local spokane metal scene which no we were not popular so another words. We made some cool stuff. Awesome to tells me your go ahead. No i was just going to say my growing up my worst band. I had by growing keys. Oh nice since. I was eleven i dabble in qisas. Well it's it's kind of universal on you know everybody kinda you gotta use that to learn your base anyway The worst best worst. I guess i would say toxic lunchbox. That's terrific. I was are banning. Were like huge. Mta music say list. What can we do. That's like you know home aaj to them. Did you wear makeup now. The guy liners. I don't know. I was sixteen and getting the girls like on a farm. That would have been zombie milking cows morose just staring at him or go to prom. So that that tells me you're not originally from cal- spill then no. I grew up in a tiny little town in idaho. What town very not dang it were you thinking of. I'm from a small town in idaho. Yeah really yeah. What town fruit land dude. How old are you. I'm thirty three okay. So did you play basketball. I have a twin brother named derek deeds so we went by d. and d. squared for a while ago. Yes but we were in a band together multiple bands and one of the first ones. We were he was the front man and is like a very john. Mayer esque vibe. And we were called derek. So the pathetic. Also by the way. I was promised i would meet john. Mayer today came to bozeman. Yeah so i mean who told you that are you guys did. Didn't you guys promised me that. I don't arison. Are i guess tonight. Just missed him when you when you walked in. He was just leaving on his way out. It's a bummer. Thanks for taking the track down down absolutely shit anytime that a four and a half hour drive. There's about five. Yeah i will say i dig that. Dr beautiful bozeman interstate. I don't know missoula. I don't know the well like maybe i went down the swan. Oh so i win. You passed byu past helena. Yeah you come down a little later down and they do a left and then one forty one. I think yeah and then wherever i'm here just wherever else. What's your amounts. What's your. do you have a playlist. You listen to podcasts. You check out on the drive like that. Oh i was listening to an audio book. I work a job right now where we're ten hour days. It is a machine shop. And i run a cnc machine and so. It's ten hours of podcasts books. So i just finished a bryan cranston. Who played walter white on breaking bad and many other things just finished his book on the drive and it was very very good. Yeah what's that called life a life in parts very good cool name. Yeah very good. I would think a good autobiography would be good written by him. He's grazing story. Written his life is insane. Yeah it's really good. Yeah yeah yeah he did. I love it when they do that. I was in tampa if they don't do that. But here's the thing audiobook the narrator makes a whole book. A hundred percent through visit wanted to listen to badly. I make it thirty seconds. And i'm not gonna listen to aac where listen to an entire book. People were like. Oh my gosh. It's like recommended recommended and the guy that was reading it was terrible. Hated the book you prefer somebody more monotone or somebody that does voices for like everybody or maybe it's a hard. It's hard to sense but not monotone. Because i just get my you know it when you hear it is a question for you. Dealing call now is debate. This gives me crap about it. Gloves these strong side when you listen to an audio book is i count as reading the book. No yeah am. I'm well it depends on how you learn in my opinion can cause it takes me like eight months to read a book. I don't know if i have like. Add or something. I have a laundry list of mental health problems but like everyone else got a lot going on. But i'll read something. And i gotta reread it and reread it. And then i got it. And then i move on but i can listen to a book and i've got it here so my are you technically reading. No but but if somebody got the content and that's what's you read the bryan cranston book. You would say. I would say yes boom. Yeah which is. Really cool with your. What do they call you handsome call. Oh i saw right away. Thank you so thank you. Yeah you're coming back on okay. There's something a lot more it feel. I will say it does feel better to read the book. Yeah it does. Yeah but like. I got kids to like entertain the end of day. Shit to do exactly distractedly too. Easy reading the book. Yes let's how awesome is that you can use it like while you're driving to. It's the best like why. Why wouldn't you. I read and drive constantly. Yeah so give audible or anything like that audible. Yeah one free credit a month. Yeah i got a buddy at work. It's time to get me on that. It's great yeah. Yes really great. I think i would get a lot more books read or done that. I would probably have more than i do. Now you know what i mean like. Oh look shelf full of books that are like my future says but like i'll read a book and a day. Yeah you'll really read your book. Day they were quote very audible. Air quotes that big opponent very good. What about music. Wise you listen to any anything when walking and driving lots these days. I'm like i have. I'm subscribed as a ton of different podcasts mostly by comedians. Keep the day lighthearted. And i built in the mike this is this is your. I got no. I got belt shy. It went away. Oh it's like yeah very. Don't forgive me by the way what was the question. What about music wise. You don't listen to currently have listened to that. I feel like it's so annoying whenever i listen everything that's my answer to you though but there's a lot lately it's been a lot of one of my favorite artists of all time is young and sick. He's also An artist so he's done foster. The people like he did the Pumped up kicks the torches album. He did that for free for them then they took off and then maroon five east toured with chance forever so he's like a songwriter and really artists. He actually did all the art. He's doing all the art for all the singles. I have coming out this year. So that's his work. he's a genius. Brilliant album listen to him a lot. A band called broods bruce. I just started listening to the new cautious klay album which is beautiful but everything from metal to pop some hip hop. I dunno descend eclectic. But johnny cash willie nelson. Yeah lots when you write music. Do you feel like you have any illusion to those. I think so people that you listen to or even the people at that time that you listen to. Oh definitely like the song magic touch which we're going to debut live. It comes out next friday wherever you get your music. But you're going to hear i on the day of which is such a hard time saying that idea. I only one time thing really okay. This song was was listening to a lot of howard jones who is like an eighties pop artist. And so that's a lot of influenced. I said eighties during my wedding. I danced like my dance with my mom this too howard jones song okay We grew up blasting and when my dad was out of the house Who didn't want us to rollerblade in the house. My mom would get all of us in rollerblades. She would get the rollerblades and we rollerblade through the house listening and howard jones and the song has like allusions to like my childhood. And that's so cool but yeah definitely like are for you. Oh big time. Yeah you are your influences and the key is like.

"This. Yeah so. I think. I think we're gonna need to work together so i get excited because look let's be. Let's be honest doing this stuff if you do it at a high level and it works. It's fun it is fun to collaborate In in comedy. I've done it. Chris hines who's my producer was With snl for a number of years. I mean there's so many people that i have known who are in that world but if you're christian conservative kind of stuck you have to go work for us and all you have to go work for whoever so the idea that this is happening. Veggietales was that for for a season began out. But but the idea that people with these sensibilities that we have could You know make cultural products gross term. It's exciting. We're living in exciting. It is and like. I said i think that the the the the environment is right for it. I think that the left has created an environment for it. By by my stifling. Comedians voices on their side. They're not gonna be as funny as they were right. You're not going to be. We have the opportunity to tell all the jokes that you're not allowed to tell right and so there's a huge opportunity and people have asked me like you see this competition. Do you wanna own this market. And everybody's like no there needs to be more conservative. Absolutely absolutely it will only be beneficial. I think there's more of us. Okay now we're gonna have to get serious for a moment. Okay this long enough and okay. Now we do have to get serious because you this is. This is really serious. But it's also hilarious. You guys at the babylon be doing intensely. Larry obvious comedy have been attacked by. I don't know the new york times snoops saying that you're putting out false information so please explain because i'm not even joking. That's the world we. We're allowed living in so talk about that. Yeah yeah so. Yeah i mentioned. There's you know. The left is killing comedy by spike choking it. But they're also trying to censor it and what they're trying to censor specifically is comedy like ours. Where their target of it you know. They cannot to be laughed at. They can't bear to have their ideas mocked so instead of just laughing it off a or responding to it with their own jokes They've gone down this route where they've actually tried to smear us as being source of misinformation and the. There's a reason they're doing that so this is to me facebook twitter. You know all the all the social networks were really trying to crack down on misinformation and block it and keep it off their platforms. the left took advantage of that and thought to themselves. Okay well maybe that's how we get rid of the babylon be lump them in world news right and so they started writing all these news articles. The most recent one was the new york times saying that we're far right misinformation site that sometimes traffics and misinformation. I'm quoting them. That's what they said. We had to send them a demand letter and tell them to to remove that from their piece because it was defamatory. It was going to get us band on social networks thing you know. Our wikipedia page is going to say that we're not really a satire sight. Where where we pretend to be. We can mislead people. It's interesting how brilliant they're pretending to be journalists and there's in fact using misinformation smears his being a source of misinformation so the irony like sony layers of what you just said they're pretending to be journalists. Yes that unfortunately is not a joke bright. That is actually true. They think they're journalists. They no longer know what ganal is. And we're at this. What is saying earlier like. We're living in truly strange times. There's a strange threshing winning wing separating where we don't know how it's going to end up we've never at least in my time lived in a time that is so Well you can just feel like new. Things are emerging. We just don't know that you know these trends. The trends are over the last decades. Have kind of come to a point where it's gonna break differently. We're seeing it already. I mean the fact that you guys exist but but the fact that they would push back in that way yeah. That's it's just amazing that we're we're in a culture where that they would feel the need to do that seriously right. Yeah like they're scared. They guess they are. I'll tell you it's when people ask me what they're scared of. I think it's the effectiveness of humor. Humor like you said a minute ago. Humor is a vehicle for truth delivery. Only one of the ways. You can speak truth to culture. I often quote. I quote g k chesterton on this. He said humor can get under the door. Seriousness is still fumbling at the handle. And i love that quote you know. He's really highlight. Sure i said that for. It's so good because it just illustrates for when rap a message in the package of humor. It's more easily delivered. Emerson it hang on a second. We're going to break folks. We're gonna continue this very serious conversation about humor with sept- dylan. Ceo the babylon talking to the ceo. That's i believe chief executive officer you can check that out on google. That's right of the babylon be. Nobody really. I shouldn't say nobody. I have never like drill down into the title. The babylon that alone is hilarious. A lot of people. I would guess that a lot of young people by the way. I'm talking to seth dylan. Who's the ceo of the bombay lada. Young people wouldn't even get the reference now because i grew up in dan. Rea connecticut and right next door is newtown connecticut and they've got a paper that's like two hundred years old. The newtown town be. But it's a very old term that some newspapers would have right so obviously calling. The babylon be sacramento. There's a lot. Yeah well. I forget i forget but in my neck of the woods. There's only one beats the newtownabbey. Please make a note of it. Yeah but the fact that you call it the babylon you know again unless somebody's tuned theologically. They're not really getting you know. Babylon represents whenever you want it to represent. Yeah well we've got so you had you had god's people in exile and in in in the old testament and so you've got this This corollary to that. I guess what adam was going for when he named it..

One of them hasn't fucked a girl who's drunk. Why ev it's one word that's what does that mean everyone. That's an odd saying david dobrica. Of course if you have like a crew around you like you've got everyone's got a turtle everyone like. As soon as they get successful they have to have a crew of people. And i'm like most guys are around you. They don't have any talent there hanging out. 'cause they wanna get the leftovers at the end of the night but we'll do it is one of the. He's the main one of the main guys like the main guy. Okay great all i see. Is this guy splits. His money between the six people in the video. It's like a musician. She's all about money. That goes people like we can't afford to get this test for the person that's getting. It has to go to the doctor. And they can't and they give them a tesla he's got a hundred dollars. You can't afford accutane. He looks better now. You're looking at old photos of him. He looks better now. Okay still still. It was instagram. Still using that made still committed to that side part. What is this what we're dealing with. You gotta go to instagram. He's he's better than that okay. What is it steve. What we'll do. I've said it nine times okay. But that's not to mention here. I mean grace note. I mean just right tim. Tim dillon's patron is trying to do is get you involved ben. I'm trying to promote your patriots. What what is the and then. The swipe up link is in the thing The texts we need more of women. How do you approach your patriots. You do actually. How do you approach your episodes that are not paying on versus your patron mentally when you go into it with a different difference. Is that the show on. Youtube is more like a tonight. It's coming shitty city because people only talk about politics. New york people took about real estate and food. This is true. People are obsessed with where you live. How you got the apartment. What does it look. How many square feet in new york in new york. Everything in new york is real estate. Because it's eight and a half miles two miles. So people are every position that people being into everybody's fascinated but like there's no other city ever the city you sit down and go. I got apartment to go. Where is it by the park. Ego crane in new york. How did you get it. Who lives there. It's an obsession with new york because getting a good deal is what everybody's into and they love food in new york because there are so many restaurants and there's so many things where people will get into like loud and angry debates about cheesecake or whatever and that's what you're talking about like money real estate food d. sees only politics and la is only payment business and traffic.
