"Is Bloomberg. Welcome to Bloomberg opinion. I'm vani Quinn. This week. What we know is certainly sufficient for impeachment if he was still in The White House. And it may very well be invited. Jonathan Bernstein on the new house January 6th committee revelations and the fallout from the Supreme Court overturning roe. First to the markets, seemingly a little at sea this week and generally getting warier of weaker economic data. This, though, as fed officials continue to talk up rate increases and Terry J Powell talks about finding price stability in the new economy, whereas Jared dillion of the daily dirt nap and Bloomberg opinion. Hedge fund manager Michael bury, famous obviously for getting the big short right as the great financial crisis was unfolding. Send a tweet out this week suggesting the fed may actually pause or even reverse hikes because deflationary impulses are brewing in certain areas of the economy. We have seen a couple of people float this idea in recent weeks. Is he right? He is right. And what he was referring to in particular was this phenomenon where retailers are building inventories to record levels. And inevitably, if you're a retailer and your inventories are stuffed, then at some point you're going to have to discount, you're going to have to lower prices in order to get rid of those inventories. And that is deflationary. I mean, that's inherently deflationary. And the inventory's piece is just one piece of the puzzle. We're really getting a deflationary impulse throughout the economy. You're seeing in a lot of places like the manufacturing surveys, the regional manufacturing surveys that they're just dropping like wet socks and a chicken is one of my friends used to say. So this is something. I was moderating a panel of Credit Suisse this week with four different firms represented and the figures 70% and 80% were both mentioned in relation to the prospect of recession. So it seems like there are more and more people turning a bit negative on the economy. Do we have to have the NBER call it before we really know or before the fed even reacts? Well, we might actually be in recession already. I mean, the NBR uses a number of factors to calculate a recession and it's possible that as months go by that you'll see some of the data that we're currently experiencing. You'll see that get revised lower. So it's possible that we're already in a recession and then 6 months from now the NBR say, well, yes, we were actually in recession back in June. So I think it's totally possible. So is the fed then waiting for more data to come in before it does something and kind of continue to hike interest rates if indeed there is a high possibility that we are in a recession. Well, I think the one data point that's going to get the fed to stop hiking is the labor market. And really because of optics and because the politics around unemployment and if unemployment were to go up significantly, say that unemployment rate goes to 5.5 and a half or 6%, then that's a severely lagging indicator, but then it would be absolutely clear that we're in recession. The problem with the fed doing that is that the problem doesn't really anticipate these moves in the economy. It really reacts to them after the fact. So if yes, it's probably true that the fed stop hiking now, but they won't actually probably for three to 6 more months. Yeah, and I mean, that's probably what we're seeing in the stock market right now, because it does seem a little at sea, no. I mean, we've had multiple days of barely any moves, but then sort of one random 2% drop on Tuesday. Some reasonably bullish on stocks. I think sentiment is pretty terrible here. I think sentiment is bombed out. And I'm actually expecting a rally. Really the worst the data is, the better it is for the stock market because that builds more of a case for the fed to pause rate hikes. Yeah. At the same time, the fed can't really pause relax until we see it in inflation expectations, right? I mean, it's actually targeting inflation expectations right now, which it said it is. But how do we even try to predict what the impact of that will be on stock and bond markets? Well, the interesting thing is, is we're getting a little bit of early evidence that inflation expectations are coming down. We got that the other day at the University of Michigan survey. That inflation expectations on a one year basis and a 5 to ten year basis had come down just a little bit. So even though they haven't really actually hiked interest rates a lot, they've done sort of this verbal tightening over the last 6 to 9 months. And it has been having an effect. It's been having a huge impact. So I'm going to quote from one of your pieces, you say, as laughable as it may seem, there may still actually be a transitory element to current inflation. That was a function of quantitative easing government spending and pandemic hoarding. You're really buying into this idea that we could see inflation coming down pretty precipitously soon. No, absolutely. I mean, I'm very confident that the 8.6% print we got on CPI. I think that's going to be the highest. I think the next point is going to be lower. The economy is slowed quite a bit since that last CPI print. So yeah, I mean, I think it's very possible that by the end of the year, we could have inflation somewhere around 5% or 6%. Jared, do we have to be confident in this Federal Reserve before we make it calculation on the economy though? I mean, I asked that because I'm not sure that even this Federal Reserve is confident in itself on this particular cycle. Well, I mean, Jerome Powell said that he isn't really he doesn't really sure what causes inflation or I forget his exact quote. But nobody really is. I mean, it's really a psychological phenomenon. And that's really the purpose of the rate hikes is to crush the inflationary psychology. And I think it's doing actually a pretty good job. And some have pointed out recently that in previous inflationary episodes, you had to raise fed funds above the rate of inflation in order to get inflation down, which would mean we would have to take fed funds up to 9%. I don't think that's going to happen. And I don't even think that's necessary. I mean, I didn't think you could raise rates to 3% and you're going to be able to take this down because of this transitory element. Everybody made fun of the fed calling it transitory and then capitulating, but I think it may in fact be transitory because of these one time factors. Yeah, I obviously we're seeing commodity prices coming down, which I'm not sure that many people would have predicted, even recently. Yeah, I mean, the CRB commodity index is down about 10% from the highs and the half in pretty quick. And I expect you're going to get a little bit more downside there. We continue with Jared dillian next. Have you on weather and how to perhaps time the market? Don't forget, do get in touch with opinions and comments. "Now for this week's picks brought to you by our friends over at FanDuel. And this week, no surprise, I am focused on the big one. Tyson Fury against dillion white WBC heavyweight championship on the line over in the UK, more than 90,000 fans expected at Wembley. This is going to be a big event. Now, Tyson Fury is the favorite and it's easy to see why. He is coming off back to back spectacular wins over Deontay while they're whereas dilly and white is just a couple of fights removed from getting knocked out by Alexander pavek. So I think your money is safe, betting on fury. I think he has an advantage over white in virtually every possible way. He's the better boxer. He's got, I think, more overall power. He is going to have so many size and physical advantages in this flight. He has proved to be very good at using them. So fury, even at -600, is a pretty safe bet to take on that. And now, method of victory, I think is interesting. This is where I think you can win some money. Most people are expecting this fight to end one way or the other by knockout. Fury, he just knocked out wilder twice. Dillion white, he has got great power in that overhand left. But I think this is going to be more of a boxing match. I don't think you're going to see Tyson Fury be as aggressive as he was against Deontay. I think you're going to see more of the fury that we saw in the first fight against wilder. Or we saw during his first career defining win against Vladimir Klitschko, I think he's going to be more of a boxer in this one. And if that's the case, I can see this fight ending in a 9 three ten to two type of decision. If you read by points, is plus two 40 according to FanDuel and that, I think, is a bet that you should jump on. So take fury to win. He's a favorite. He got bet big to make that worth your while, but the real bet I think is fury by decision. Those are my picks, brought to you by FanDuel. That's it for this week's episode my thanks to Mike coppinger and Canelo Álvarez for joining the show. As always, subscribe, rate, review this podcast on Apple podcast, Spotify, wherever you download podcasts. And next week, we will be in New York for the Katy Taylor Amanda Serrano fight the biggest fight in women's boxing history will.

"Important fight of anthony joshua's career if he doesn't win this fight against sick. It's a pretty significant rebuilt after that trying to get back to that highest level all right. Let's talk about another heavyweight. Dillion white has withdrawn from his scheduled october. Thirtieth fight against auto wallin white versus wallin was supposed to determine the next mandatory challenger for tyson fury as we speak dillion. White has the bbc's interim title and if he had won against wallin he would have moved on to face tyson fury for the full title with the wbz. There've been some questions. Kief fair ones. I think about just how injured dillion white is. Did he look at ottawa. Being too big a risk going into a potential heavyweight championship fight against tyson fury. Regardless what's your take on how this should play out next wallin's promoters his management team. There have been very public with their insistence that despite needs to be rescheduled two questions. Do you think it will be rescheduled. And should it be rescheduled. No and yes because dmitry salita has a good point you know they trained for this fight. They were going to be paid handsomely to go over there. I actually thought while lean had a very good chance as as many other people did to beat dilly and white Tyson fury told me a couple of weeks ago when we were in las vegas about that fight. Specifically he said he favoured ottawa. Lean to win. He's spent twelve rounds in the ring and knows he's a tough guy He expected him to beat dylan So a lotta people were thinking that the the thing that never made sense to me chris. I've been understand why they scheduled this fight to begin with because if you're dealing in white now he of course he wanted to to make a good payday and the and the fight would have would have been a big fight in the uk and everything. So maybe he couldn't just get in there with a with a c. level heavyweight and get paid when he wanted to get paid but excuse me i viewed it as a risky kind of a a very high risk low reward type of fight for him because i again i thought it was one that he probably would have lost and then of course. You're not the mandatory thing by the way just drives me crazy. The whole thing drives me crazy. Because i still do not understand how you get knocked unconscious and then continue claiming that you're the mandatory challenger. Now he went and cleaned up his mess. He he dominated alexander prevention You know in in the rematch in an avenged his loss..

"For investment decisions clients else. Wealth management maintain positions and the securities discussed in this podcast. Welcome to animal. Spurts with michael alabama. We're gonna start off with an email. That we got about vice. The student is their senior year. At cal poly are majoring in financial management. They're planning to take the. Cfa level one curriculum requires us to fulfil senior project and the cfa qualifies as project for my major. That's part of the reason why i wanted to take the test. I also driven to tie everything together. That i've learned in college especially after cova had a negative impact on how much learning this last year. I would like to start my career in corporate. Finance valuations with the long term goal. Finding some combination of sustainability environmental work with finance. I've done a fair amount of research and asking around to see if the cf is worth it from my career. And i believe it is. I would just like to get as much input on the test as possible and was seeking your opinion before we get into this. I'm constantly amazed at how much more prepared couch are. Yeah i knew nothing. I still remember going to my internship. Program senior year and looking at investment banking jobs and i did not know it. Investment banking was. I just heard you can make a lot of money. They're literally had no idea what it was until a guy class explained. Here's what investment banking isn't what you do and i'm like oh i don't wanna do that. We're going to get into my career and my job search a second. Here's a little tease. I remember i was sitting down with a guy we eating lunch outside. He said so. Do you want to be in the south side of the buy side. And i said the what side or the what side. Okay so jared dillion kicked the hornet's nest this week as he is prone to different types of time with the post op bluebird the. Cfo is a colossal. Waste of time. And i would just like to highlight some of the things that he said that. I actually very much agree with. And then we'll get to the part that we might take bridge with all right. Jared said in reality the face just one of many factors that an employer might take into consideration in the hiring process. True ben stopped me. If you disagree with any of this The biggest costs associated with the decision of face time it takes up an enormous amount of time consisting of many hundreds and even thousands of hours of study for each level. And that's if they pass all three exams on the first. Try which i did not i felt level too. I was not gonna pass. I was studying in a hospital. My mom died like ten days later. It was not a good time for me to be taken that. But i don't know about you. But i knew i was not in the financial services industry when i took two. I was probably the only person in that room who did not have a job. I was unemployed. And i had no experience in the financial services industry so yes i gave up all of my weekends. It was the first time in my life that i actually committed to something. What was your experience like. In terms of time preparation. I think they said average is probably three hundred dollars per test or car and i like you pass level one in december and then this is back in the days when the only offered level wanted december the other ones are only every may so as either take two six months later or take a year and half later on like right tickets six months later. I don't have as good excuses. You being in hospital but my brother did have his wedding and bachelor party. Two weeks before this him for feeling was hard. That was the hardest by far. I did not go out for a few years. I'm not really exaggerating. Like i did things when i had to. But i was very much off the greenwich studying for the test. Taking it seriously. All right. here's back to jive with pass rates drop. It gets more critical than ever to conduct a thorough cost-benefit analysis one deciding whether to take the cfa exams completely agree. We spoke a few weeks. The pass rate for whatever reason dropped to like twenty six percents or something gross. So yeah it's a time commitment and you should thoroughly consider the cost benefit analysis. But that's the cost of the thing is if you're comparing a cfa to an nba. The cost of an mba is vastly higher than a cfa. So if you're someone who's going into portfolio management a cfo from an investment perspective and roi. It's just the time the money is actually negligible in. Most cases is not that big correct and oftentimes if you actually have an employer which i did it but if you did you can get your employer to pay for it. There are some professions within finance that for all intensive purposes of requires fa asset management is one of them and so is investment research on to a lesser extent investment banking and those cases. Not getting a cfa might be a career limiting move. I had many jobs that i applied for that you had to at least be taking the. Cfo have passed a certain level or had it just to get an interview. They wouldn't look at you if you didn't have that. So that's the biggest part of it. I think a lot of people so far. We're all nodding. We're all in agreement with which are to say. I realized when i was studying for the exams that i wasn't really learning the material. I was just learning how to pass a test. I honestly don't remember a single thing. I learned from the cfo program for me. It wasn't education. 'cause i had zero baseline i knew nothing. I remember there was like six equations. Free cash flow to the firm fee cash for the equity. I mean. I don't remember any of that stuff. I remember the concept barely. But i cannot apply. Today it's not even the depth of it. It's the whole thing where it's mile wide and inch deep that kind of thing. It wasn't deep information. It was just a lot. But i found going through my career. Twenty percent of it was stuff that i found helpful at the time that i was using in my career. Least there's a little bit. It wasn't everything out of because it's very all encompassing okay. His last point my biggest criticism of the program is that it doesn't necessarily make you a better investor. If there were concrete evidence that funds managed by see if a charter holders outperformed those of non phase and that would be a compelling to take us but there is not. It's all theater keg you fact. I vehemently agree. There is no evidence that having the cfa makes you a better investor. Didn't see if they teach you how to buy amazon call on earnings skulls. Yeah i took that. I bought zinger puts that were expiring. Forty-eight hours later okay. now. Here's what i disagree with. Jared said the cf as a colossal waste of time. Three years would be better spent on just about any other pursuit. That is a bold statement cotton. Here's a thing. It's really easy to say this stuff when you have a career and you already passed that point but when you're a young person you're looking at it's hard to get a job and it's hard to get your foot in the door especially if you're someone who doesn't have a great college on your resume to get into one of those investment banking jobs. Here's what c. Fake and offer it can show employer that you care about this stuff and want to learn. It shows that you're intelligent enough to do this and put in the hard work again. It.

I talk about in my book. Goodness it there. Are things happening in in the world. I think that are worth celebrating. And we ought to do that more often. You're not gonna hear it in the headlines and nightly news. you're not going to see it from the usual suspects but when we see we ought to make sure that we share those things definitely tell those stories with each other and together. There's one such very. I wanted to share with you. This comes from a data arizona. Who's gone to a school board meeting first of all. I congratulate him for that parents. You've got to go to school board meetings. We've got to be engaged civically. We've got to be engaged at our kids in their education if you're going to send them to public school especially we've got to be engaged in that process to let these people now that we're watching that we're going to be a part of it. They were actively participating. This man is speaking up and it's also what he says from his perspective as a black man a father what he says about what. They're teaching the critical race theory and the divisive things that are teaching in schools. Take a listen Not beating grew because my kids eight ten twelve and We start the experience things for his own black history month. My will be come home. They will be afraid. It may not seem like he's doing anything to grant. It may not seem like he's he is wielding a sword and and and Just completed a a battle and come out victoriously but i applaud that man because he's done a a lot of folks more and more doing every day and we ought to consider doing ourselves whether you got kids or not if your tax you live in the area that you live in your times your home values or even tied to the schools like where we live. We great school system their home. Values are tied to that you're paying taxes on etc so you ought to have some input especially in that system another place where they're seeing right now critical race theory and divisiveness serve rearing. Its ugly head is a place that is very concerning in fact. That's the military. Join us to talk a little bit about that author. Adam davis good friend of mine. He's written several books multiple on different topics but they all really volvo around the same theme. He's retired police officer Supporting those folks who go out and serve for us whether it's In the line of duty on the call here on our streets or in battlefields all throughout the world. Adam appreciate you being here with us today. How are you just always an honor to speak with you. My friend doing well doing well here in south alabama down in dothan alabama and wonderful to To be able to speak with you again on such important matter sue. The recently the military is is now going through. This woke process. And it's it's something that a lot of folks were watching it very concerning because you think about this and you think wow if this falls i mean some of the the real. Last havens in in in in government and service in is our military. You've got patriots there that that are conservative that are traditional. They might call them extremists now. But i think the real extremists are the ones who are the marxist who are trying to drive a wedge and drive this ideology into places that it doesn't belong like the military. Yeah well that's that's the thing you have to realize. I think we are more and more people are realizing now is for the true extremists which are the liberal. The woke crowd if you wanna whatever you want to label them as the ones that want to destroy the very foundation of fundamental truths of our nation. There is nothing sacred to them not our constitution our way of life not not the military of the church the school system they want to attack the very core of who we are and there's no place for such divisive teaching in the military Like you know all force but you have to move is one. You have to be united. And they want to divide every facet of america so that they can conquer america with their socialist and marxist ideas where the communist propaganda they wanna to destroy american. Turn it into what they want. They wanna make you a slave to their role. That's what they want. And this is just part of their strategy and it hasn't stopped immediately tablet in the military. You're also seeing it in with the police officers. And i know you serve you served as a police officer. But now you serve police officers and you serve First responders in and folks in the military as well as an author. You you write books a lot of times. Devotional these are. These are things that are that are directly serving the souls of these of these folks who who probably need it More than any of us. These days Th they're constantly under attack but you've seen the same thing that we're seeing now in the military been happening with police In police departments all across the all across the country heard last year about defunding. The police in how we're starting to see some of those places where they they tried that it didn't it didn't work too well and of course they're having the backtrack on that but it can't be easy.

I'm convinced that we lost him because somebody didn't want that. Call getting on the air. I i'm gonna tell you so. I saw the and i'll just tell you what it was because i think it's a good point and chris. If you're listening call baco allow you if we have time to get you back in squeeze you back in for the free state of florida not nevertheless. But chris was making the point about the twenty fifth amendment. And you know. We heard so much about this with the last with the previous president. Wh why why nothing. Now i mean they were whole purports pieces at all. These things that were done that we're talking about what this is. Trump fit for office is unfit period. That he's under our people in the cabinet. That are contemplating holy cow. I'll we got chris back. Let's take him while. We can chris before they try. I don't know who they are but before they try to take you off the air again. We gotta get you back in. What did you say buddy. The twenty fifth amendment that allows the cabinet or somebody to get the president out of office if he's unable to do his job That was pushed by pelosi back in the last administration. She said it's not for trumpets for future presidents. And i think that it might be interesting right now. Republicans push that issue with the schism in the rift between the kamala harris office and the joe biden office and we say joe biden is obviously not fit to be president. Let's get somebody else in there and they would be like well. We don't want kamala in there. Let's just not be not be crazy about this. What are what are your thoughts on that. Hey you remember the movie dumb and dumber right well. This this this scenario is like worse and worse. Because you got who do you have in line here. Will you have a kamla. Who is right after the president. Should he be labeled incapacitated and then Well if something were to happen with her or let's say she was. I don't know on fit or i'm just imagining next. What's once the once biden would be removed. Wouldn't there be an appointment for the vice president. Who would then be second in line again looking at going down the line. I don't know who. Who can we put who you're thinking. Maybe there's somebody else. 'cause i i don't know about you chris but i don't think biden's running the show as it is absolutely so so i think they literally give him a schedule and say. Here's where we're going out. And then he gave him his chief. Okay joe if they ask you about any of these things polat cheat sheet you know what to say an it. S unfortunate is it is. I mean i think that's the reality in with colin. Their god only knows what we would say what you think. At least what. You're saying. If i understand this correctly is it using at least hey this might be a good strategy by the by the republicans to sort of gum up the works and maybe cost them division with the administration. And what's happening in the wedge. Yeah okay well. A little bit of their own medicine is what you're saying here where republicans i think are conservative in general are so bad at nice people. That was my next question. My next question is i think we have it in us. No i don't. There's like three people who might i. I would say we could do it. We aren't we're sort of above and we'd like you know we'd like to fly above the fray. They're and great points chris. Thanks for calling in. I really do. I think we. That's why we don't fight fire with fire. That's why we don't fight back. And some of these situations i will say. Though in the in the previous president trump had a president who would fight back or stand back now. I don't know how much fighting do with we. Some of the folks within buried within that administration that would try to gum up the works with him. But there's another person on the scene in from chris's state of florida. Who also seems to be fighting back governor rhonda santa's we got a couple of people that are that are out there. At least the fight is on a speaking of which we're gonna talk about that fight that continues and how you can fight back by joining us standing together when we come back the glenn beck program all right so summer has arrived hand with it comes all of those amazing summer holidays and with things finally starting to return to normal in this country up at. "I am of the confused and actually it's it's not just me. It's everyone else trying to understand the words of the leader of the free world He's just getting hammered on foreign by foreign media right not not here in the states but people asking serious question but what is wrong with joe biden and i think it's i think it's kinda clear. He was in Michigan earlier this weekend. In fact celebrating. They say the The victories of some of the covert restrictions being lifted. I thought to myself. What isn't that interesting that he was with someone who actually implemented those restrictions well. Our governor toured different places in trenton. The beautiful picturesque traverse city michigan. It's absolutely it's beautiful. It's gorgeous cherry capital of the world. And if you've never been highly recommended one of our favorite places to go a little up north as we say here in michigan but it's a fantastic spot in the water. There is crystal clear. It's it's like a postcard and it's it's fresh water but it looks like you know some tropical. The blue is just amazing. Just just like you would see some sort of tropical destination. But it's it's our piece a little slice of paradise up here one of the things you do. You gotta town you stop into. The various shops grabs some ice cream. Maybe check out some get some cherries things of that nature. You enjoy you. Make yourself a tourist even in those in those places and that's part of what he did yesterday and then this particular clip you're going to hear. The president pressed by one member of the press about cyber attacks happened on friday hundreds of companies right before the holiday attacked very serious issue. And we've seen this happen. Numerous times this off the heels of the meeting that the president had with with putin. We were told that it was going to have a conversation with them and things are going to be straightened out right. Oh this is all about that. And whether or not the russians were involved. And i can't make out what he saying. Sure report asked him. Can i ask you a question. He's checking out having a conversation with the cashier. He looks at the reporters if he's dazed at first she said. Can i ask you a question. Well she already did but nothing beside that. He looks at her days and then eventually realizes what she says you could see the processing taking place. And then he says sheer most recent. Would you say that this this means on the plane brief causing here this is this is this is like that he e- kind of it's like dead air just kind of pauses and then the the The goes onto. Maybe we'll try and think about this. They're trying to check him out so they asked some more questions gathering some of his stuff. Together i'll be in better shape to talk to you about it. He says. I'll even better shape to talk to you about it. He's going to say later on but he then reaches into his coat pocket to pull out his cheat sheet. See if he's got an answer on there for this is a. This is a vast contrast between.

"Thanks for having me on to be here. So so as i mentioned. I don't think i'm alone on this. But every time i hear something crazy happening in the news which is every day. There's a headline. there's something that is a real story. I didn't got to go find out. Okay how did you guys cover it. Because that ate a lot of ways it really does it. Sort of shows me like okay. And and this is how i. This is how i i think. A lot of most of us. And i think that's why the popularity of the b. has risen so sharply is because people feel this way and they relate to that humor. There's stinging truth in in all of it. Yeah well it's a. It's a rich environment right now for satire. That's that's for sure. In some ways it does make the job harder though because satires project is to exaggerate the truth to make its points And like you said well. We definitely read the news every day. The news is so insane so absurd. You know it's hard to make. It's hard to exaggerate things like the porter standing in front of burning buildings describing situations mostly peaceful in like is it's it's difficult to satirize so It makes the job challenging. But yeah it's also it's also good to bring some levity and get people laughing and and and you know but also thinking about these things. How often does it happen. Because i seen this. It's almost like prophecy. The babylon be prophecy. Now where you know. I say like you can't make this stuff up but apparently you guys did and you did it. Maybe a little bit in advance and now. Here's you know life imitating art right in front of our eyes. Well yeah that's the challenge so okay. The challenge is to stay a step ahead of reality right Because reality is as moving at breakneck pace of towards insanity we exaggerate it and to make our points and to make our jokes go through and sometimes literally within minutes or hours of something that we've re satirical time he wrote it comes out a real headline so That's happening pretty frequently. It doesn't happen every day but But usually every couple of weeks. There's something that we published Either very recently or even sometimes like one or two years ago that ends up coming true Market down as fulfilled prophecy. Which is you know. It's comical on the one hand but it's also kind of depressing on the other. What is like if you think back to this. Seth dylan is on with us. Now from babylon be if you have to think back to maybe the first one that you remember or maybe the one that makes the biggest impact on you. It was a story that you guys wrote or something that you put together and then it it. Just you thought this was wild. Maybe it'll never happen but then there there it was real life. Well i mean there's a there's a million i mean some recent one like you some light hearted ones like we made a joke of Back in the middle of the pandemic and things were bad last year About how You know there were increased sales of of of shirts but not pants because everyone was working from home and we should have picture of a guy sitting in his boxers and then the very next day yahoo finance published a story about how wal mart was seeing increased sales of tops but not bottoms like almost two to a word like exactly the headline joked about With actually true But there's other ones to where you know it just shows that we're right on we're right on with our with our criticism of you know the the mainstream or legacy media and how and how they you know they just try to distort things and cover things from their own narrative. We did did a story on how President trump during the abor. Iran mccord's was ignoring covert protocols. And that's that was how. Cnn was gonna cover it right. Trump ignored of kobe protocols and shake hands with with foreign leaders in three hours later. Cnn published the headline that covered. It wasn't them down monumental occasion. That was happening on your screen. It was trump disregards covert protocols and and In disregards distancing abraham accords. Its like. that's not the story here. That's not the story But that kind of stuff happens all the time. I think maybe one of the most egregious was when we we made a joke. About how black lives matter had been nominated for the nobel peace prize and then it actually happened. Incredible moments in the history of the babylon and Seth i just realized you guys had Just reached a big milestone on twitter to you now have a million followers followers there. the popularity growing by leaps and bounds. And i think it's because you're effective matter of fact that's probably why you guys are under attack. What's the latest in. What have you found with big tech and censorship right now. Yeah so that is a big milestone a million followers on twitter. We just recently had a million on instagram to And a lot of people point to that and say what censorship. what are you talking about look at you. Got a huge following. You know people are people are following you in droves but but our success on those platforms is despite the fact that we're facing huge setbacks. From you know tax from the media and suspensions like our twitter page has been suspended our facebook pages in our posted than pulled. We've been demonetized several times. We've been threatened with being d platform there Male chimp suspended us recently. And then apologize and turn us back on But there's this there's been this coordinated effort between big tech in the media in the last couple of years As as the crackdown on fake news was really happening and they were trying to stop. The spread misinformation. You started seeing post. Getting fact checked all the time of and rated false And then and then we were getting threatened with being deployed if we continue sharing false information and we had to defend ourselves and say this is not fake news this well it is fake news but it's not fake news. Intended to mislead it's fake news intended entertain satire So we've been constantly in this battle to assert our right to be on these platforms and the the media which really interesting that the media is that they've been trying to generate this narrative where we're not really satire. Were pretending to be satire to just get around facebook's rules against the spread of misinformation. So that's what that's what happened with the new york times recently where they call this a far right misinformation site that traffics in this information And that kind of stuff you know like on the one hand we want. We want to joke about that and like and make fun of them for being you know for for for misrepresenting us that way and and and trying to make people that there's something malicious about our satire but on the other hand we gotta take it really seriously because next thing you know we are going to get the boots and social media platforms on the basis of lies like that. It's in fact new york times it's spreading misinformation about us not the other way around so It's been an ongoing battle. But we've had some successes and we continue to fight back taking any of that line. Now what do you make about this latest craziness about an. I'm watching this over the last couple of days with facebook and these warnings about you may have come in contact with extremist content. And or you in fact may be an extremist. It's almost like a know. Do you have an american flag flying outside of your house. Do you go to the bible. Did you attend church yesterday. humic extremists. Right what what what do you make about. I mean it's so crazy that this is the world we live in. We're starting to see facebook. Doing something like this is nuts. Yeah feels very orwellian. Doesn't it again. That's a rich rich atmosphere for satire. Where making plenty of jokes about this. I'm personally concerned. Because i had not been yet warned that might be an experienced or have affiliation with extremists You know. I think. I think i should have that warning on me and i'm a little concerned that facebook doesn't think of me that way I think look honestly. It's a badge of honor when when when these When people like the new york times are coming after us and trying to smear us. I would much rather have them doing that. Then praising us and saying that we're great so I think it's a good thing i mean. I think it means that we're on the right track honestly But the stuff with big tack and putting out. Those warnings i mean. It's very ominous isn't it. It's it's a it's a it's not. It's no laughing matter on on one hand because they're basically looking for you to rat on your friends and your neighbors and and expose them for being extremists. I made a joke about this. And i said you know unconcerned that some of my Some of my Some of my friends are are pro abortion that they're okay with abortion does that count You know it's it's just it's amazing. How views on side of the political spectrum.

"Barkley for glenn beck today in the glenn beck program and Yeah coming up. We're going to talk. With as i said a man who is Very close to this despite social media censorship And he seeing it up close and personal even with his company which you wouldn't you guess nowadays. Nothing's off limits. But he's fighting the fight in a very specific way coming up the bottom of the hour. We'll talk with him. You know I continue to see these stories and it is. It's it's concerning because he what we're seeing right now isn't how this whole thing is supposed to work the representative republic people like me and you everyday folks involved in self-governance. I talked about this earlier. But you can't have freedom if you don't have god and in some ways you might even say you can't have freedom if you don't have religion we hear about freedom of religion then that's really turned into freedom from religion and if you go back and study this stuff you start to realize that things are told in school and what people are being indoctrinated with your kids right now are being taught. These things are completely false. They're just not true. In fact i probably don't know this but our founders man. I've gotta read this. Our founders were so profoundly religious spiritual christian. He just wouldn't believe if i if i read some of the interesting things this comes from america's godly heritage. It's a book by david barton. I think i got it on the wall. Builder website while builders dot com. So just a story about the liberty bell in front of this. He talks about how the picture of independence all how the founders gathered together to approve and complete the separation from great britain on july fourth. They approved it and on the eighth. They carried the declaration outside of independence hall. They read it to an assembled crowd and then rang the liberty bell and most folks thank that. It's called the liberty bell because it. I denounced liberty but that's not the truth. It's actually called the liberty bell because of the biblical inscription emblazoned around it. The passage from the bible scripture leviticus twenty five ten proclaim liberty throughout the land to all the inhabitants thereof. If we were supposed to be so separated from religion why would that be inscribed on the bell i i was very interested to read the lives of the founders and how many of them went to church together in fact they would have bible studies and prayer gatherings before they would get down to business in congress but those are stories that you just wouldn't hear anywhere else in his history's being erased and rewritten today. So as our current events. We'll tell you how when we talked to one social media founder for who's being censored will explain that and how he's fighting back coming out the glenn beck program heard me talk about my pillow how it literally has changed by sleep and my energy all day i met mike lindell the inventor of mypillow and he fit me for my own pillow. Every every day there was something insane in the news literally every day and as those true events take place. I often find the need to check in with a very specific source. It's not The usual goto that you might think of you know that the new york times the paper a record people like that. No i actually like to check in when. I hear some of the craziest things happening with the babylon be. That don't laugh or actually. They may be okay with you doing that. Because that's their whole intention. They write satire and they are deadly serious and boy does it sting sometimes is not what satire supposed to do and so i thought to myself you know when i heard the story that they were being targeted by big tack social media. Censorship mean. it's just a matter of time. Why are they coming. After the babylon be because they're effective and their chief. Seth dylan joins us. Now on the glenn beck program seth. Thanks for being here with us today appreciated. Yeah.

"We were told all through all through the the last fifteen months or so what we could and couldn't do. I don't know about you and where you are specifically. But i'm in michigan and our governor was one of the furious five that sent you know sick patients out of hospitals into nursing homes and ultimately killing thousands. Then telling us it was our fault for wanting to live. A normal uninhibited life causing down different places. Like oh i. I dunno mom and pop shops but the big box big corporate stores could be open now. If you went to those different stores you know there were some guidelines because if you leave your bubble if you leave your house for any amount of time your risk your threat not only to yourself but to others in fact if you leave your house for any reason other to spend money at these big corporate stores in fact Causing lots of the the folks associated with to become richer by the billions and again the problem with money. Cut no problem with making eleven. I just think everyone ought to be able to make a living. See i i call me crazy. But i think the mom and pops of the world you know they ought to be able to make the same type of living and have the same opportunity to make a living as the big box stores. But i digress. We were told when we went to those stores. Even what we were allowed to buy and what we couldn't buy. Do you know in michigan. Of course you could go to the liquor store and buy booze and lottery tickets and whatnot. But you could go to the pot store. Where pot is legal recreational use of marijuana legal here in michigan. Now that's a conversation for another day but you could go buy pot at the weeds store but you couldn't buy a weed wacker at the big box store. In fact you couldn't buy seeds or a potted plant at the big box store. You really got to wonder who comes up with these things and what their true motives might be. Of course our governor. That just jumped completely all in had i in fact speaking of jumping in she got busted a few times. I mean she got busted jumping in to the water when she ran down the florida supposedly. This was supposed to be a trip to see her ailing father which i don't begrudge her but then again. She didn't allow other folks in michigan to visit or spend time with their relatives while they were in nursing homes hospitals etc. We couldn't see our relatives but she could fly down secretly as she was telling everyone else to. You can't leave the state totally the state math for spring break. Do your part. That's that's what we were told over. The last fifteen months in fact. Her husband was busy putting a boat in making phone calls. See if he could get some favors done. He was caught doing this. Because the guy that owns the place that puts the boat in the dock and all that apparently dole that story and then word got out. No boy g. was in it deep in it. We were told at one point. This is the craziness of where we were. We were told at one point you could. You could go out in a boat on the water if it didn't have a motor but if it had a motor all bets were off. We had some crazy things now. She didn't go as far as oh crazy. Comma gavin newsom out in california. Kella commie gavin. Newsom was out there. Telling you can't even go to church. don't go to. you can't go to church. Are you crazy gonna kill people. Of course we saw some fights and we saw some real victories through that time. Grateful for those for you you you come out of a time period like that and people see. I mean folks. We got here. The freedoms we enjoy are dangling by a thread. It's a very precarious balance. So that's why i believe. We celebrated this year. Like never before as a lot of folks realize you know how delicate that balances. I think the reason for this and the insanity that we witnessed over the last fifteen months. And i say this especially here in michigan but i seen it all over the country. I think we're partly to blame. I think we gave that freedom away now adult. Get too upset with me. Don't get too angry. I still believe the so called folks in leadership positions. You know that that really took advantage of these issues. I think they get the most responsibility. But i do believe that. We're partially to blame here. Why because we gave our freedom away. It's very easy to understand this. Make it as simple as i can. If we want to understand freedom it's true nation nature rather of liberty and where are independents comes from we can really understand. Maybe the path that it's taken over the last fifteen months and while over the last.

"No matter how much they try it. Oh no matter how much they try to drive that wedge between us and divide us terrace apart as a nation haha. It's not working. That's some of the good news. And i've got some. I've got some proof for that. Alex explain coming up. Justin barclay and for glenn beck today on the glenn beck program. Do you remember this. Commercial from the seventies. What your favorite sport. And what's your favorite car. America baseball dogs apple pie. Chevrolet right well. You sure. Sound like america me. Well you better tell me again. 'cause i just might forget now. I know it's superficial the baseball. The hotdogs the apple. Yeah even the chevrolet but there's a little bit of nostalgia to that just watching the thinking about all. Those things were uniting. All of those things were were pieces of the culture that we could gather around that we could somehow find a way to rally because it doesn't matter you know who you who you identify as it doesn't matter what you think you are today. It doesn't matter the color of your skin or church you go to. We could all rally around our favorite baseball team watching america's pastime. We could all enjoy some sort of grilled product. I would think it's not a hot dog. You'd still throw some sort of meat on the grill and that nowadays. We can't even do that but it's got to be maybe a plant based meat. Let's really plant based meat on the barbecue. It doesn't have to say ring to it. Does it but you know. Even even things like that are uniquely designed to divide us these days baseball hot dogs apple pie and chevrolet even in the commercials even in the advertising madison avenue and the rest of spent millions putting all that together to sell some cars. How do they sell cars now. Oh boy you. And i both know. Look at a commercials. Now here is. Here's why i think they're not successful in. This is where i think the good news is. I started the show off by saying boy. i heard. There was a shortage of fireworks this year. Just like the other shortages now some of these shortages a real and some of them i think are a little artificial but we have issues in the supply chain for all kinds of reason. It's true not just the inflation but of course we've got the issues with trying to even find folks if t to work a lot of them in in many states states like mine. Blue states like michigan where they being paid to sit at home. of course they're not going to go back to work. Why would you do that. Summertime go back to work now and of course in when the kids are back in school. Yeah i don't know if i do that either if i'm still being paid it's probably i'd probably need to stay home. You know because the kids are going to need help with their homework. You get the point but you know there are issues while there are issues. I don't know that the fireworks real or not. Because i tell you last night i heard more and i certainly heard plenty on on saturday but i heard last night than i heard saturday and if i recall last year was very similar because we were told last year to stay home and hunker down into shelter in place to not leave. Oh my goodness a. By the way over the weekend biden tweeted or somebody tweeted for him. Because thank god you. We went from a president who owned twitter to a president who doesn't even know what a twitter is. I mean this guy doesn't i don't think he's putting his own sentences together let alone tweeting them on twitter on the toilet at four am i. What i'm saying is i don't know what doing and i don't think he does. Even but yesterday or over the weekend. It was tweeted on his account. Let's put it that way. That the most patriotic thing that we can do as americans is to go. Get the jab. If we have already done that i'm boy. Oh boy when you when you know. There's another thing that's being used right now to divide us last year. They used all kinds of interesting tactics. Our governor here in michigan she used to divide us and as i started to roll the language out at them. I said you know got to be careful with this there early on the guy caught a you gotta be. She was telling people to go out and confront each other. Okay so which is it. Are we supposed to stay six feet away from each other. Are we supposed to go up to each other in our personal space and confront each other. She told people confront each other and people died because of it. I think there were a couple. People shot at a dollar store argument over masks and in fact i think one man stabbed some people waiting in line at an ice cream shop while another one. I think that man eventually fled. Police caught up with him in shot and killed him. People died because of this division. So as i mentioned it and i do believe it's good news last night. I didn't see or hear any issues with division mattis weekend. I saw country more united. I think than almost any anytime in the nation's history because the truth is every single one of us. I think want very much at least pretty similar very much. The same thing they want to come together with our family they want to celebrate holidays like the fourth of july but slowly. Atlanta Fed's Bostic says bank might taper asset purchase programme sooner than expected

"That let's talk about the Fed and what they you think are going to do in 2021. Well, it's interesting. You know what I said, was that the Fed starts moving in a hawkish direction prematurely, and that's actually happening. Already Fed President Raphael Bostic of Atlanta of the Atlanta Fed Is already talking about tapering asset purchases, basically cutting back on the levels of quantitative easing that the Fed is doing there was another fed president that echoed those remarks. I can't remember who it is, but that is definitely a risk that the Fed starts moving in a hawkish direction, and that would definitely take the wind out of the stock market. How to Meditate with Your Higher Brain

"Do. You ever wonder why when you sit down to meditate. It just doesn't seem to happen. Waves of worrying thoughts moved through our head, our anxiety and stress just doesn't seem to settle down after five minutes ten minutes or even minutes. Even, though we're sitting very still, and were watching our breath or trying to let thoughts go. Our mind just doesn't seem to let us meditate. There seems to be a battle in our head. We want to meditate, but we can't call the mind. Why is this? While I've heard many teachings from very learned meditation Masters throughout the years. What are the most cogent explanations came recently when I sat down with Dr. Albert Oviedo, the medical anthropologist and author of bestselling books including Shaman Healer Sage. We record the podcast at his mountain retreat center in Chile. On the PODCAST, Dr Viola explains how our brain health is crucial to our meditation, practice and spiritual development. You have a broken brain. You can't meditate, he explains. If your brain is producing stress molecules such as cortisol and adrenaline. It is going to be impossible to meditate. We have to have the physical substrate. We can't just will ourselves to meditate. So? How do we create this physical substrate to meditate? It has to do with what we eat. That's right what we eat. And importantly what we don't put in our stomachs impacts directly our ability to calm the mind to look inward, and to gain all the benefits. We know there is to receive from meditation. On the PODCAST. Dr Field explains what parts of the brains are active when we're stressed when our flight or fight modes are active, which are found in the Reptilian and Mammalian parts of the brain. But in order to meditate, he explains. We need to take up residence in the higher brain, the NEO CORTEX and prefrontal lobes where the bliss molecules are produced where we experienced the divine and transcendence. It is very clear on the podcast that what we eat directly impacts where our brain is firing. Hint here. It has something to do with Akito Diet. Dr Field or reveals to us the optimal nutrition for meditators and what we might want to avoid if we want to take our meditation practice to the next level. I hope you enjoy this fascinating interview and be on the lookout for the next episode where Albert Dough and Linda finch guide us in a morning breathing meditation to strengthen our luminous energy field, but for now sit back and enjoy my conversation with Dr Albert Veto. So welcome Alberto to the hey house meditation podcast. Thank you Matteo good to be with you I'm. Very interested to talk to you about our meditation practice and how our brain health. Relates to that meditation practice. A lot of us have a lot of challenges with. Meditation and I was fascinating in reading your work and listen to your lectures recently about how our brain health can support that meditation practice. So can you talk a little bit about that? Absolutely you if you have a broken brain? You cannot meditate. If your brain is producing only distress molecules which are Adrenalin Cortisol it's impossible to meditate. You can get angry or you're GONNA WANNA. Check your emails. So in order to be able to meditate, we need to access the higher brain, which is the brain that produces the bliss molecules because you need. The chemical substrate is not just a mental thing, not just a mind. We can't just will ourself into meditation. Will it many of us try just? To. Push through. That's kind of we call that. Be masochistic. Him So you mentioned the higher brain. What is that? Could you explain to our listeners exactly what that means? He's sort of four parts of the brain. We have four distinctly different brands Heinemann anatomically different brains that evolved during different periods in history. I rip dillion brain, which is in charge housekeeping, and we share that with all the reptiles snakes, the alligators, not particularly lovable, but that this brain no love. Knows body temperature, heart, rate, housekeeping autonomic functions. All the audit keeps his breathing for example. When we think about it, you know for example, dolphins don't have breathing programmed into their pillion brand, so they're part of an experiment where you had to breathe consciously. That's why only half their brains sleeps in any one time. But in top of the Brazilian brainers, the Mammalian brand that we share with all the mammals. And this is the brain of the emotions. And this is a brain that fuels itself with sugar. Run some sugar. So as long as you eating a lot of sugar, you're. You're going to be stuck in this brain fear. Of Feeding of not having enough of scarcity of fighting of needing to make yourself or someone else wrong and a predatory sexuality. So. Strong desire is is is in this mammalian brain. This is the brain that really long for intimacy, but cannot get. This matter how close you get, you cannot open yourself up to another person because you're going to be terrified of what they might
