Why men may have more severe COVID-19 symptoms, and using bacteria to track contaminated food
"Welcome, science. I've Casper June two thousand and twenty I'm Sarah Crespi. First up this speak staff writer Meredith. Bodman discusses a link between Corona. Virus, sex hormones and male pattern baldness. It turns out. This link might be behind the higher numbers of men dying from the infection next we have researcher Jason Chen he talks about a system for tracking objects using DNA. Bar coded bacterial spores. We spray the spores on something like lettuce, and then if you ever need to know where that led us came from, perhaps if it was contaminated with dangerous bacteria, you can collect the spores and read out the bar. Now, Ashraf writer Meredith Bodman. She wrote this week in science on a potential source of the male bias. We've been seeing in severe cases of Corona. Virus even corona virus deaths. Hi Meredith Hi Sarah. How are you? I'm okay I. GonNa, Say Okay for now this has been a mysterious, but persistent skew, and the number of deaths with regards to men. How big is the spy us? Well, it's considerable on. It's consistent from the very first days that we getting reports out of Ruhan China. Men have been made sicker by covid nineteen in the died at higher rates than women. From covid nineteen at the same time, children have been largely spared that two lines up with this theory that some researchers putting forward that Andrew Johns which are male hormones may have a role to play in how badly people get sick from woven So there's this new research linking sex hormones and the severity of coronavirus. Where did this idea come from? At first blush. It really landed with a paper that was published in cell online in early March. And it designated or describe a role for a particular enzyme that is bound in cell membranes called temperatures to. And it is an enzyme that cleaves the spy protein on the virus, and in doing that it allows the virus to enter host cells, so it's important for viral entry now. A bunch of prostate cancer researchers looked at the cell pay per and said Whoa. Wait a minute. We know that protein know that protein. They knew the protein because years ago. It was described as being culprit in prostate cancer, this very same t. m., P. R. S. S. two or temperature to enzyme in a mutated form. It was discovered early in this century was responsible for about fifty percent of prostate cancers PSA. Prostate researchers were intimately familiar with this this enzyme in one of the things. Things, they knew about it was that it was controlled by male hormones. At least in the prostate gland, known as Andrew Jackson's of which testosterone as the most famous, actually increased the production of this enzyme in the prostate gland when the enzyme was in a mutated form, it causes prostate cancer, basically in simple definition, and so from that you can take away that if you have more testosterone or other androgen, you're going to have more of temptress to, and so that's kind of the thinking behind this that you might have something that makes it easier for infection to take place, absolutely more tempus to on the cell membrane more opportunities for the virus to knock an inter-. It's almost that simple. Though, of course, it's way more complicated, but basically right and there's there's some other interesting observations that a link to this in your story, and one of them out relates to male pattern baldness. How does that fit in? There's not a clear scientific explanation for why it would be that a couple of studies in Spain have observed that man with male pattern baldness seemed to be over represented in male patients who are hospitalized with covid nineteen, and that's not related to age. No, interestingly, the peak baldness decade among these Spanish patients was in the fifties. Fifties whereas male baldness, typically as most common in the eighties or even older, and there's a link between baldness and temperatures. Well, that's what's not entirely clear. What is known is that one very powerful male hormone named dihydrotestosterone or D. H. T. for short, which is a derivative of testosterone, is abundant and thought to be causative of male pattern baldness. When there's lots of it in the SCALP, it's not causative on its own. It also take some genetic predisposition had a couple of conditions, but one of them is high levels of this hormone dht, and that is. Is the hormone that returning to the prostate we know binds androgen receptor, which in turn kicks up production of T.. N., P. R. S. to compress too

"Eight hundred eight four eight nine two two two and get started an important consideration for a lot of people out there looking for hormone replacement therapy. There are little clinics popping up that tau doing hormone replacement therapy, and that their main focus and we've had patients that have gone to them that have been put on all sorts of different things without significant blood testing. Without having, you know, repeat blood testing to test levels of of the hormones. Where the patients side officer, the day went to such a facility and had testosterone pellets placed under the skin. And he wasn't one hundred percent. Sure about it. But thought it might help to keep his stash from levels and good range, although the problem that is sued was that his levels were too high. His red blood cells hemoglobin metacritic went to high. So as blood was getting thick his estrogen levels went to high. So that was affecting what we call gynecologist is where excess fat can deposit on the chest. Dihydrotestosterone was high. So this is a significant problem. Now, when you put the pellets in, you can't just take him out the year leaving the men in their dissolving over time. And there are five to six month therapy. So I don't like the idea of putting something in that if it's not right for you that you can't change it or take it out. That's why testosterone therapy, we start with injection for a couple of weeks to get your levels up to the right range, and then we try to maintain with the cream gel sub lingual. We might even use h c g to try to get you buddy to make more of your testosterone..

"It's like no, they certainly can be in, you know, to your point you know, they, they can increase blood pressure. It could clog up your blood is you're, you're mentioning make the blood sluggish. And then in addition to that, some of these guys around, like stimulants, you know, some guys will take some men, some women, they'll take things like clenbuterol. We'll take things kinda speed things up half caffeine and stuff like that. So now you're got like one thing is racing right? Your heart's China race. But you got this blood, that's not moving through your body very well. And could cause irregular heartbeats and all kinds of things. You know, the other thing that some individuals don't watch out for keeping my to stop some converts to couple and proxima Tabbasum, estrogen DAT. Dihydrotestosterone. D H T is the antibiotic affect. The recovery effect on motivation affect sexual abuse affect muscle building affect k now some individuals men and women are more prone to hair thinning. That's where the hair thing comes from with an amber Gagen, so DHT, inhibits Falkirk. Oh. That's how propecia Finistere. I'd works when you take a long-term to hip DHT course let's assume you're not onto styles from replacement therapy. And you're taking for hair growth purposes. So the downside potentially is knocks down DAT. Their docked down DAT. Knocks down your libido, see want more. Harry you want. "Show. Now, here's Dr Christopher Calapan. Welcome friends and thank you for tuning into the program today. Hope you're doing well, as you know, today, we're going to chat about of Roddy of different things. We'll look at some of the latest in medical nutritional research. We'll talk about some case studies will do a variety of different things. Cover different topics. So that we could maximize your understanding of what's going on in your body. We'll be condemned out to maximize. So every day when I talk to patients, and we talk about the importance of vitamins and minerals. We did a blood testing make recommendations people are shocked to see that even though they're taking vitamins randomly that. They're vitamin levels are not good. So it could be because of absorption, digestive decrease. You make less digestive enzymes as you get over. It could be because you're not taking enough of the milligram dosage of that substance. Had also been able to document people that take vitamins in the morning that don't take them beyond that typically are deficient in the afternoon the evening, and as I would imagine overnight, and if you test those people before they take their vitamins in the morning, they're low so we have take vitamins throughout the course of the day. There are literally millions of studies on vitamins and minerals. And if you're look vitamin d research, if you look vitamin E beta-carotene vitamin c. The studies are overwhelming. There are many studies at Trump bud vitamin deficiency and disease increase in free, radical damage risk of heart disease cancer. So there's more than enough research out there for people to see if you'd like to look at that a lot of what I've talked about put on my website articles that you can take a look at videos are mentally teach. You about fact about how things work and how we can improve your picture some great research on low magnesium levels in the elderly population. And this I've been seen for years, the majority of people that I see fifties and beyond and it certainly not elderly, but fifties and beyond have low levels of magnesium potassium that can raise up your blood pressure because the smooth muscle that wraps around the blood vessels to allow them to constrict and dilate constriction occurs when magnesium and potassium deficiency occurred. That's why we test the red blood cell levels for these things. So this is just an interesting study. They look. At a few hundred patients sixty five years of agent older. The incidence of hypoglycemia hypoglycemia, hypoglycemia rather was over sixty percent. So again learning about your body. I when you come in we start to put to the recommendations that makes sense in that are safe in that work. Okay from ice ribbon. If you'd like to go to our first caller. It's burton. Hi there. Are you lo-? Yes, sir. Good morning. Caliphate. Great. Duck healthy to question to find a. Sir can stem cells be used to offset all. There are people that have gone for stem cell therapy worldwide because of thinning of the hair and just as people have gone for PRP, which is platelet rich plasma, and they can see some benefits with that stem cells can help with your hair as well. If a person's completely bold, you're not going to have stem cell therapy re-grow every bit of the hair, but the people who have hair thinning and loss. When you do the injection through the scout, they seem to get sick or more significant hair growth. Divine has experienced hair loss. I haven't seen him since this began, but he's very upset about it. Assuming hypothetically part of his scalp is completely devoid of hair. Mike, the spill be helpful is still might be awful. I mean, some people have alopicia Ariana where certain areas just the hair falls out that could be from inflammatory cascade could be forgotten come from fungal infection for men as they get older as well. Sometimes the hair fitting and loss occurs because to hydrotesterone converting to regular testosterone. Converting to hydra test Astra mecca fixture here. So in some cases, we wanna block the dihydrotestosterone. So we have to look at the specifics in that person to see what's really starting the process. What is the difference between regular dihydrotestosterone regular testosterone? Is what everybody uses for muscle strength mood memory sexual driving function. And when it converts the dihydrotestosterone that could affect and create swelling prostate and affect thinning hair. So you don't want to die hydro you out the regular testosterone. But not the conversion to the hydro some people also in the testosterone converts can create extra dial, which is a female hormone, which for some men their chest gets very soft, and you know, fatty Dickel Konica Masta. So when people are taking testosterone, you wanna make sure that you're checking all of these other hormones as well. The tournament would be to grow long eyebrows. Yes. If I might also ask Dr. Are there any survivors that you not nourish cancer cells might Steve you be an exception. We'll Stevie is not a real sugar like, you know, blue coz fructose those from foods. So I think that what Warbirds research back in the nineteen thirties was describing is that when foods breakdown to significant sugars because cancer cells and regular cells mutate into a cancer cell. They suck up glucose a lot faster. That's why they grow faster, the one of the major foods for cancer would be glucose floating, your blood, and you can see people that are diabetic or that have traditionally much higher levels of sugar have high risk for cancer. Find myself evermore indebted to Dr talapity. Thank you so much have a wonderful day. Thank you for the call and good talking to you one eight hundred eight four eight WABC if you'd like to call in task question could do so now one eight hundred eight four eight nine two two two and we'll get your question up on the air. What else? Do we have here? That's interesting. Maternal vitamin d supplementation during pregnancy can benefit the offspring. Obviously, you know. So when women are pregnant their blood volume increases because they're creating a new life inside them their blood count. Everything is increased compared to a woman is not pregnant to be able to carry a pregnancy for the nine months or so so women need to have vitamins and minerals. This has been known for many, many, many, many decades and full of casted, and you know,.

"I think to go through residency learning the technical stuff learning the surgical judgment. You know, what do you do if this person's got a post operative bleed versus in infection? Who do you sit on who do you take back to the those are very important skills? But this is like kind of next layer judgment stuff that I mean aside from talking with your colleagues and surrounding yourself by people who are you try to surround yourself by people smarter than you. How do you continue that evolution of learning? We have a what I call adult only journal club every fried every other Friday morning. So it's all the oncologist, and our group Maddox rat on urologists, your logic oncologist, and I call it a dull only because it's not really for the residents. It's during their teaching conference, and we just pull articles that come up every day. So I- every Friday morning. I get a feed from the H about new prostate cancer articles any article of prostate cancer in it. I get that link. It's about one hundred eighty two two hundred papers week. I. Review that list and any looks good. I pull it and I'll look at the abstract era, pull the paper. And so I send those to the group and on Friday two days from now will go over my prostate articles, plus my partners bladder cancer articles or kidney cancer, because I I don't read those. So I have them tell me what's important in those fields. So that's how I it's really fun. Because it's just like, you know, what we been school again it's being in school. It's decide of continuous learning. So that's how I think about and try to keep on top of at meetings are okay. But you know, I think that people get bogged down in just the politics of a meeting so thing reading reading what I try to do most of slits pivot to another topic that's germane to prostate cancer, which is kind of a two topic that goes hand in hand the first the role of testosterone the second of the role of dihydrotestosterone. So we can explore this in any order, but I wanna definitely touch on the notion that is there a real or perceived effect of patients who are on five zero dictates inhibitors. So for the list. Males make a hormone testosterone just thrown.

He brain stuff flooring Boko Bob here with eight other classic episode for you or host Christian Sager is explaining what's too many folks, a pressing consideration as they get older. Why do some people go bald? I'm Christian Sager. And this is brain stuff. Have you ever heard that if you're maternal grandfather went bald that you will to or what about the one? We're getting a scout massage. We'll send more blood to your head and caused your hair to grow back. Some people also claim that if you shave your hair it will grow back even fuller than before sorry to break it to you. But all of these are bogus myths as long as men have been losing their hair they've been trying to figure out what causes baldness and how they can cure this sign of aging. In fact, it's estimated that forty million Americans are losing their hair, and that's men and women and all of those people are spending more than one billion dollars a year on everything from hair transplants to to pays in spray on hair, now hair, real hair grows. Just under the skin on our heads from the close to one hundred thousand follicles there this growth happens in three phases. The antigen phase where it's grown. Knowing the cabbage in phase in between and the television phase where it falls out and hair falling out is totally normal. We should lose fifty to one hundred hairs every day as part of the television cycle. But if more hair falls out than is replaced. You are probably balding if the hair that grows back is thinner than what fell out, you're probably balding. And if it starts falling out in clumps. Oh, yeah. You are balding. But hey, take comfort that you are not alone. My friends by age thirty a quarter of all men have already started to lose their hair. What's weird is wide? Humans. Go bald in the first place baldness is actually pretty rare and other animals and hair serves a lot of important purposes. It protects our heads from the sun maintains our body, heat when we're cold and may even attract a mate, some researchers think it suggests a dominant status or a sign of maturity in different society. He's in fact, a paper from the journal, social, psychological and personality science found evidence that women find completely bald men more attractive than partially bald ones. The study also found that baldness was highly associated with two traits dominance and strength. So if you're starting to lose your hair, maybe you should take action shave it all off and show. The world would a tough assertive man, you are to understand baldness a little better. Let's look at the different types that occur. I the most common type is called Andro genetic alopicia, otherwise known as male pattern baldness, it's related to our inherited genetic predisposition from both of our parents, this affects how sensitive we are to a hormone called dihydrotestosterone hereafter referred to as DHT for most guys five percent of their testosterone is converted into d. HT if you're sensitive to DHT it acts like toxin on your hair follicles, producing thinner weaker almost colorless hair until hair production in the follicle simply stops, researchers have also found that male pattern. Baldness also causes men to have an abnormal amount of a protein. Lipid called prostate gland in D to some dermatologists, even think that men could re-grow their hair if this inhibiting protein were removed other types of baldness include the female pattern baldness that occurs. In some women post menopause, an autoimmune disorder called alopicia Ariadna and a condition called television a flu VM the mixer hair fallout faster than normal. People can also have brittle hair from hair, shaft defects. Or in rare cases, they may even pull out their own hair compulsively if they have a disorder called trick Attila. Mania? You think that sounds scary? You can also lose your hair from illnesses. Fungal infections burns chemical applications medications, and of course, cancer treatments, like chemotherapy smoking is also reported to increase the risk of baldness. You should definitely see your doctor. If your hair starts falling out in clumps. Or if you get a burning itching irritation on your scout. "They get with blood pressure pill. It'll be you know, all right now. Now, what at at any given, you know, and I know Lord come amid. Phone will. Will you know, why bother anybody? Here's the deal. This what I would do first of all there's three sides to what we call the health triangle. There's the mental side that your brain chemistry neurotransmitters, your subconscious mind, the way, we think that can impact our health and our body, then you've got the chemical side, the the actual how the body works chemically. You got your heart liver, lungs kidneys? How all of those organ systems work, and then you've got the structural side, the bones, the muscles and the nurse, and when you're dealing with something like you're dealing with Russia with feeling imbalance. If there's any potential for slight vertigo, or if you're having that as not related to the medication and is not related to blood pressure. Meaning if it's running one hundred or one ten over seventy or eighty, and that's that's more than normal with blood pressure. So you're good. They're not like you have blood pressure. That's all over the place. It's too low or too. Hi. So it sounds to me like they've got that managed with medication which the good thing. This far as you're getting dizzy, and as far as you feeling that way. There's there's several things that can be causing that one. Is you wanna make sure that you go see a DO and the doctor of osteopathic medicine, and the reason I think that'd be good for us because on the structural side of our health. You've got gotta look at the bones, the muscles and the nerves, and when you're looking at all three areas of that you've got you've got to get in there and with the vertigo or dizziness potentially if it's not chemical than it has to be structural, and there's nerves and everything else sits within spinal column in the first area underneath the skull. Which is the c one or the atlas vertebra that need to be evaluated and looked at they can do X rays. There's several tests that they can run the check that Dios typically will get in and they'll work on some of that certain physicians will do that physical therapist will get in and look at that sometimes, but I go to the deal, I hit their valuation. Get the thoughts. See what they think? And then go from there. Because right now, just taking your blood pressure medication sitting back and waiting hoping for the best where you want to be obviously, you're frustrated because you know, there's more to it. And you don't feel right. So there's a lot of treatment that can be done. If things are not, right. As far as with your net goes, and that that sort of thing that can be very helpful. So go see a DO let them evaluate the structural Saudi your body. Several things you need to do. Remember, avocado a day? He's prostate issues away contains a component called laid sister. All works like charm, so working on that making sure you get avocado each day and making sure that you get plenty of Saint at least eighty milligrams along with salt meadow about fifteen hundred milligrams per day and also with the zinc, there's also pumpkin seed oil pumpkin seed oil works, like a champ has been known for years to support healthy, prostate and nettle root nettle route about eighty milligrams a day worst, great. Here's why nettle root blocks. The culprit of why the prostate can swell. It's called H dihydrotestosterone and has been known call for this what medications like Prescott purse Kara finance dry. They're all based around that H T. Molecule, and so if you can get that suppressed, even naturally, you're gonna help support the prostate is you're going through this little issue with prostate is. So those are kind of the things you want to use on a regular basis to support. The prostate gland help it function better and get you functioning the way you need to because prostate is nothing to play around with. It's something that a lot of guys are dealing with now even more than ever. And you don't want to let it slide. Stay on top of the PSA blood tested for physician doesn't have take it in the next six months. I would definitely do that get a recheck that blood test done see where those numbers are. And make sure that everything's good to go. Remember the rule of thumb for prostate in PSA of the blood? If it doubles in a year's time, that's a big danger. Sign and everybody starts thinking cancer in that point. So make sure you stay on top of that blood tests, especially if you're over the age of forty that's nothing to play around with an early detection is always the key. With prostate. You're listening.

"Binding globulin. So once you answer that question, if sex binding globulin is too high you have to investigate why there are really only four reasons for it, insulin, thyroid hormone, estrogen and genetics. So you you do your investigation you figure out what's going on? If to SaaS thrown is too low the next question is too low because you're siphoning too much of your testosterone into either dihydrotestosterone DAT or extraditable. Yes. Or no if yes, you can block both of those right? You have five as inhibitors you have roommates inhibitors if it's low not because you're siphoning too much way. Then the question is are you not producing enough. And if you aren't producing enough for you not producing enough because you don't have enough THE, which is a substrate or do not have the patera signal is your f- SHO's L H too low. So they're actually nine steps in understanding someone. Testosterone and free testosterone level, and we can actually impact every single one of those steps pharmacologically if we're trying to this service. So so, yeah, it's it's a much different approach when you're doing it for medical manage this kind of blows my mind to cause I'm like, wow, there's now. So this is like, you know, you learn something new every day. It's like I'm just used to people take into milligrams testosterone. Now, you just turn me onto nine different ways that I can increase like you can give a person you can give them something it stimulates L HR f h production. So there's a there's a pre hormone that synthetic hormone that mimics while mimics, basically estrogen molecule at the hypothalamus that then tells the to a Terry to make more episodes Elhage that in many ways, you're putting us in practice clinically and you're seeing awesome results with and this is funny. This is one of those things that we learned sort of from people who were doing this. But it's now actually become I mean, I would hesitate to say mainstream because I don't think people are fully mainstream and understanding this. But now you're seeing this stuff..

"Three and in two thousand seven and they were small spikes in. But I tended to be in the range from four point seven to five point nine five point seven five point one in that area this year. I had a. Grad skin. There was only three weeks after my current urology. Visit where they told me I was fine where they showed that there were nargile prostate which appeared to be malignant. So I went in and they had this new tests called the PCA three. And it's where they basically milk your prostate with you having a full bladder, and then you urinate, and Grete fluid comes out in urine invade do a urine. And Mike came back positive for cancer. So I've got a two-pronged question with that. In one is is all that cancerous fluid now floating around in those protesters, they made for the vibes which may be increasing the cancers of prostate cancer, even though it may not be there. Now. And the second question is. TSA three being so useless and the trend of the PCA being useless. In the future. Can I look to for being helpful? I think one thing to look at for the most part, the the biopsies that they do there's a big controversy on if you do the biopsy CD free up more cancer cells like you're talking about in kind of spread them where they don't really need to go when they were contained inside of a mass. There's not a lot of research around the supports that that really does happen. So I don't want to tell you that it doesn't happen because I've seen some research behind. That's kind of like what you're talking about kind of in the middle because the your standard medical research, which is what everybody goes by anyways. Says that doesn't that's okay. Right. But then you got you know, research out in Europe and whatnot where they say. Well, yeah. Probably not a good idea. So again, that's just where you have to make your own choices. And I will tell you this the vice pretty resilient in even though cancer. Of course is the. A bear within itself. Is pretty amazing get paring it down and really taking care of the things that needs to take care of. So I wouldn't wouldn't worry too much about it. Those tests are done when they need to get done. The doctors are pretty pretty solid about knowing when to order it knowing how and knowing wine, and that sort of thing so it wouldn't worry too much. But yeah, prostate health is critical. And there's a lot of things you can do alongside with what your doctors having. You might wanna mention them just some good lifestyle factors. Avocados are great. They contain a component in them. Call beta site a sterile in the bay decided sterile really brings good health. To the prostate gland. And also, you got different supplements out there that can help zinc, south meadow, pumpkin seed, oil big pumpkin seed guy. I'd love him. I could eat them all the time. And so you hit the pumpkin seeds are great for prostate health. And then washing your testosterone levels. I'll tell you. There's some controversy right now about testosterone, which is our primary meal hormone, and they're saying that the the whole adages right now is if you keep if you keep testosterone levels, low DHT low, which is dihydrotestosterone, which is causes the prostate to swell.

They just in the other an inflammation while from your own path, you've sort of dialed in on the stuff that you put into neutral, where you're saying you've got to control your stress. So you need lifestyle modifications which you've even cooperated. Renew choosing your ingredients, which is in your supplements. And of course you speak a lot to that as to as to where they come from and how they're manufactured and what bioavailability that have in the body. So all of these have been tested for viability owned absorbed and also their efficacy in clinical studies. So we use for Gonda stress it up to join the major stress, adopt our in our product, and it has been clinically shown to lower cortisol levels in comically stress. Adults also improve thyroid function. Because again, thyroid function is impacted by high stress import SOLAS well, and that is important for hair grows because it it is one of the major. Snow's production of energy follicles need energy. So then we target the information. So intimidation is important to target because it's been found in shown in every type of hair loss something that again, western medicine didn't recognize before, but now we know that inflamming the immune system is highly linked, or it actually regulates biological clocks. It meets perfectly regulated. As long as you have more inflammatory cytokines molecules produced the follicle. You need to calm that down and sing high potency anti-inflammatories that can target Tina foul for I wanna lead to hair loss sivvy's curcumin, which is an extract of to Mark for that. Again, all of these, of course, are multi targeted than they have multiple Fido. Actus a nice because they have the target so many receptors. So they're able to rebound rather than go in one particular direction, which is, for instance, the case with medications supplementaries a natural dihydrotestosterone inhibitor. And that's what we used to to count at the DVD. The started engine production, hyper engine production in hair loss. Unlike p show or festered does not have any sexual side effects has been shown to increase nitric oxide production, so actually improves be, don't sexual functioning. So I think that's a question that a lot of men will always ask is to whether or not something like this effectual Beato because of the mechanism of action, but it doesn't actually, it's more of a rebalancing action. Unlike unlike finesse stride and we have potent anti oxidants like took a turn America tax Bill, your own. Build up the you can take anti-oxidants which quantified articles, but you really want something that Trump production of glib sign Cadillac. Since the proxy dismutase which are depleted with aid stress. So these systems tax, you really want to stimulate your body again to to heal itself into produce more of the. So that's that's our kind of multipronged approach. In addition to that, of course, supporting neutrons. Like sing selenium, dine from Cal and. And many other Twenty-one ingredients in total. So collagen while all source from very clean sources that with smaller fish, we talked about mercury a good Iceland, Norway sources of kelp end and collagen and a couple of other really, no vitamin d, all of these things that are really important in terms of supporting the full multipronged multi targeted approach..

"Blood pressure. With blood pressure pill. And it'll be you know, I don't know. Right now. At all. At. No come on. Okay. Will you know, anybody? Here's the deal. This what I would do first of all there's three sides to what we call the health triangle. There's the mental side that your brain chemistry, your neurotransmitters, your subconscious mind, the way, we think that can impact our health and our body. Then you've got the chemical side. You've got the the actual how the body works chemically. So you got your heart liver, lungs kidneys? How all of those organ systems work, and then you've got the structural side, the bones the muscles and the nerves and when you're dealing with something like you're dealing with Russia with feeling imbalance. If there's any potential for slight vertigo, or if you're if you're having that as not related to the medication and is not related to blood pressure. Meaning if it's running one hundred or one ten over seventy or eighty, and that's that's more than normal with blood pressure. So you're good. They're not like you have blood pressure. That's all over the place. It's too low or too high. So sounds to me like they've got that managed with medication which is a good thing. This far as you getting dizzy. As far as you feeling that way. There's there's several things that can be causing that one. Is you wanna make sure that you go see a DO and the doctor of osteopathic medicine in the reason, I think that'd be good for us because on the structural side of our health. You gotta look at the bones the muscles and the nerves, and when you're looking at all three areas of that you've got you've got to get in there and with the vertigo or with dizziness potentially. If it's not chemical than it has to be structural, and there's nerves and everything else sits within spinal column in the first area underneath the skull. Which is the c one or the atlas vertebra that would need to be evaluated and looked at they can do X rays there. Several tests that they can run the check that Dios typically will get in and they'll work on some of that certain physicians will do that physical therapists will get in and look at that sometimes, but I go to the deal, I hit their valuation get their thoughts what they think. And then go from there because right now, just taking your blood. Pressure medications sitting back and waiting and hoping for the best not where you want to be in. Obviously, you're frustrated because you know, there's more to it. And you don't feel right. So there's a lot of treatment that can be done. Things are not right. As far as with your net goes, and that sort of thing that can be very helpful. So go see a DO let them evaluate the structural Saudi your body. Several things you need to do. Remember an avocado a day. He's prostate issues away contains a component Intikhab vade sister. All works like charm, so working on that making sure you get all the caudal each day and making sure that you get plenty of zinc, at least eighty milligrams along with salt meadow about fifteen hundred milligrams per day and also with zinc in that there's also pumpkin seed oil pumpkin seed oil works, like a champ has been known for years to support healthy, prostate and nettle root nettle root about eighty milligrams a day worst, great. Here's why Nedal route blocks the culprit of why the prostate can swell, and it's called HT dihydrotestosterone and has been known call for this what medications like Prescott first and asteroid they're all based around that the HD. Molecule in. So if you can get that suppressed, even naturally, you're gonna help support the prostate as you're going through this little issue with prostate is so those are kind of the things you want to use on a regular basis to support. The prostate gland help it function better. You functioning the way you need to because prostate is nothing to play around with if something that a lot of guys deal with now even more than ever. And you don't want to let it slide. Stay on top of the PSA test. You for physician doesn't have take it in the next six months. How would definitely do that get a reach out and get that blood tests done see where those numbers are. And make sure that everything's good to go. Remember the rule of thumb for prostate in PSA on the blood? If it doubles in a year's time, that's a big danger. Sign and everybody starts thinking cancer in that point. So make sure you stay on top of the blood tests, especially if you're over the age of forty that's nothing to play around. With early detection is always Deke with.

"Right it stimulates the keep stimulating nacro that's why when you get older you get these bushes grown out of your ears yeah i hadn't really delved into the science of nose hair that much maybe that'll be in the second book but but because i'm sure we'd all like to see that chapter but i yeah i mean basically you're right facial hair whether it's on the ear or the nose so in the past few years there's been this uptick i've seen maybe there's this past year uptick in companies selling former ceuta kohl's that can reduce balding so they take these drugs it's not supposed to like grow your hair back it's just supposed to slow it down do you know do you know what's going on there what does pharmaceuticals do are there any dangerous to those yeah so a lot of those pharmaceuticals tried to block the very effective testosterone on the hair follicle right so there's one that a highlight in the book called propecia to very commonly used and propecia is a drug sustained drug that we use to to slow the enlarge l'argent of the prostate in except at a lower dose and it blocks the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone and therefore reduces the amount of testosterone that stimulating the hair follicle basically now getting back to issue of the sensitivity to estonia we talked about before you know there are many men those vectors foundation out there following men who took propecia for hair loss who experienced in some cases irreversible loss of libido irreversible sexual dysfunction erectile dysfunction and things like that indicating that some young men in these are all men in their twenties early thirties some young men are extremely sensitive to these these types of pharmaceutical so there's definitely a danger to them and then there's other more benign things like there are shampoos that are designed to basically washed the testosterone out of the hair and i've actually used one of those for years and i think it actually works but it doesn't penetrate into the system so right so it's not getting into the blood and causing a.

"Accumulates and forms these plaques and that's what alzheimer's disease is now that's gross over simplification of course but but there is a connection will so let's go out with move outside the brain to the cranium thing that cases are head so testosterone has been connected with balding why is it because like you know testosterone stimulates facial hair growth so you'd think it would stimulate growth on the hair in your head but it doesn't what what's going on there and there's a paradox right it it stimulates growth of the beard and stimulates loss of heron aaron top of the head exactly so all mrs really interesting not only for its connection to testosterone but but it is connected to some other health phenomena so long story is that chronic exposure to testosterone is which is by the way converted into a chemical called d h t which many people may know heard of dihydrotestosterone and dht stimulation the follicles of the hair on the scalp will cause a thickening of the follicle and in it'll basically if you think about the tunnel that the hair grows out of that tunnel thickens so the hair thins and ultimately you know that thinning hair goes away and so that's a again a sign of chronic testosterone exposure and the health issues that is linked to for example baldness is a sign of chronic testosterone exposure as is potentially heart disease and prostate cancer as i mentioned and so a couple of years ago there was an observation made that men who are losing their hair at forty five on the top of their head not a receding hairline but the middle back of the head they were at higher risk for prostate cancer for high risk prostate cancer so so this is a sign of sort of testosterone role in our bodies and and on the beard is totally is totally the opposite which is that it stimulates hair growth and it doesn't stimulate the sending out of those follicles then he the same goes for nose and ear hair as well.

"Controversy should you let testosterone levels be elevated will that cause prostate cancer but this shift is really coming right now we're were science and physicians are shifting toward believing that in seeing that testosterone levels really aren't that big of an impact for the prostate so it's more of the conversion of dht which is a molecule of testosterone but it's not everything it's called dihydrotestosterone and win that gets elevated that's what can directly affect the prostate gland that's where you have to be careful and so diabetes will the same the same issue it's all about regulating blood sugar making sure that you get those those little receptors for insulin to balance out and not into a function better than most medication that you take with diabetes type two is to work on the receptors so we want to focus on especially for blood sugar related issues always in a good dietician this trained as a diabetes educator they'll be really great to work with but usually multiple meals throughout the days been proven to be very helpful for someone with any kind of blood sugars to instability so every three and a half to three to three and a half hours you're eating a protein source of fat source and a carbohydrate source the reason being for example you'd have a grotesque can breasts from broccoli and some almonds sorry this system an example the reason being is the protein in the fat maintain healthy blood sugar levels of they're not causing anything to spike so not it broccoli would because it really doesn't but if you had like a sweet potato which is still really good for you it could cause the blood sugar to rise a little bit and the fact that protein or going to keep it more at bay the c creates a nice little ballots were that whole situation so anyway your game plan made people just round the supplements and they're like oh i'm gonna take this bill in that pill but it's about getting a good eating playing down that's the key start there an exercise for both of those fantastic proven and even if you're just walking four or five days a week that'd be great but if he in its weight training affect your hormone levels in a good way support your lean muscle tissue nets can support in a.
