"And Biden has legitimately won the majority of the electors. Biden will be declared the winner. And that will be the moment to give trump the wrong code. So for the purposes of electing the forty-six. President. By. A vote in Congress we would have had the flip. That of four Senate seats and we have so many opportunities. Main. North Carolina South Carolina to Georgia Mississippi Texas Kansas. Iowa Colorado Montana Arizona. Alaska. If, we win enough of those races President Biden will be able to work with Congress. An address, all the ills that Donald Trump has. ignored. Or created. Or exacerbated. Here's the deal. We have as I record this four days. We have to spend every second of those days doing as much as we can to turn out every vote. That's what we can do right now. So stop. freaking out about trump barricading himself need oval office just work. From now, until the end election day, then what ever power? We win on. Tuesday. We have to use it power to unfought democracy. That this never happens again. They put us here. Through sheer force of will, evil will they use their power to change the rules and installed crooked people in powerful positions? We have to use our power to change the rules back and stall non crooked people. So our system and be fairing. That? Way. Next time, we can spend the last few days worrying about democracy stuff like voting in volunteering instead of authoritarian stuff like throwing out people's ballots. And refusing to accept the outcome. So. Deal with the anxiety. For the next. Four three two, one, twenty, nineteen days whatever it is. and. then. Hopefully, earn a chance to fix this. Now again. Which means getting people out to vote so Joe Biden, dot com slash both. So let's talk about what trump. Probably will try to do to steal this election with Dick Gephardt of former Democratic majority leader in the in house who is part of an organization called. Heap our republic. And Ian Bassin founder and executive director of protecting democracy. I think. This will give you a lot of the information about what can be happening. Over the next few weeks. If this is contested. And what we can do about. It's a great show. If you're listening to this right now, chances are almost one hundred percent that you're listening to my podcast. Thank you. All eyes on Iowa — and Buttigieg

"First and foremost though the Iowa caucuses is about one hundred days out so for today's forecast we're gonNA focus their Harry how are the Democratic candidates ranking in that wonderful state of a wonderful Hawkeye state I do believe not the buckeyes state is some people sometimes call it why though high because it says I there's is there's Look here here's the key thing in Iowa that is so important and basically what you have is that bombarding and Warren at this particular time our hugged together in the low twenty s and this has been fairly consistent since August and what's important here about Iowa that really separates it out nationally is that Buddha judge can make the argument is in third place in Iowa he's somewhere in the low to mid teens right with Bernie Sanders and of course Iowa votes I so a Buddha judge could potentially win there and he may very well could because essentially at this point I would only say that Biden warned combined have somewhere between a fifty five and sixty percents of which leaves forty to forty five percent chance that one of those two won't win that could change the entire dynamic of the field you've spent so much time an Iowa John Please regale us with your stories from the trail may I was stories I prefer to New Hampshire first of all this is he's got a real eye opener reporters do because they're nicer in Iowa and the events are more spread out geographically in that means that I think that each voter actually gets more direct contact with the candidate So I think that the voters in Iowa have such a a a a serious decision process they go through when picking the candidates Biden and Warren bunched up though I mean I don't see that last thing all the way through well I I guess that's the real question right I mean it's been pretty steady since August but you know as Biden Warren have sort of gone after each other you know perhaps or at least Biden's gone after Warren more kind of stays in her own sorta lane there there's going to be this craving for this third alternative right aura fourth alternative and essentially you know if you were to look what is this most like a you know Steve Kornacki my dear friend that MS has said it remains and some of the two thousand four race right where you essentially Dean and Gephardt sort of up there and then you had carrying it where it's kind of a little bit back and then eventually people got the second a top two and then the third and fourth place people ended up finishing in first and second and so I'm not sure can last but at this point you know if you want the argument that worn is rising nationally which we could get to we will that's not the case in Iowa it's really not she has been steady around twenty on twenty two twenty three percent of the vote since the middle of August and Joe Biden who has either fallen or not nationally has been steady in Woah at about the same amount without an organization in without minority voters that's the key difference right that's the key difference between Iowa which probably allows Buddha judge to come in and capitalize on the state of Iowa people to judge is going nowhere with non white voters non white voters are very small percentage he hasn't gone anywhere yet correct white voters but of course momentum comes out of Iowa at least some momentum will then when you hit New Hampshire that's right that's the question is can Buddha judge sort of take I will use it as a launching pad then go on to New Hampshire and it may be that problem we had with non white voters goes audio semi-ghost Goodbye C. L. later what is it about Buddha judge in Iowa is it is it is it is it ground game he hasn't he opened maybe the most if not tied with I don't Know Elizabeth Warren and opening the most offices and he's got Bolos money so he's spending an organization they're he has got a mid Western appeal now I don't know as much about Indiana as some people here donald but it does begin with I and so does Iowa but he's we're all the same it is the mattingly I think closer than some other states that people are just S. so then you know what strikes me as as you did what I think was the most important early interview with people judge in introducing him I think in many ways to the country three even before the town meeting they got so much that people to actually running for the middle of the country he was positioning himself to be the mid Western reds trump's state yeah can't it so that's why I think that he may be connecting in Iowa and I would just argue you know there have been candidates before who have done better in the Mid West than they've done say nationwide you know you can think about Paul Simon Aviator Dick Gephardt eighty a Bob Dole look inside in one thousand nine hundred eighty or even ninety six although we actually did slightly worse in ninety six but the point is is there is this potential sort of home region effect that we also see I'm sure right where the candidates from next door Massachusetts and Vermont tend to do better I think there's an argument to me made that the candidates next door I tend to do better in part perhaps because they sort of speak Iowa can I just say one of the thing though you talked about two thousand four Democratic race I think the one thing people are just be worried about is that it's not to that doesn't sixteen Republican version were Marco Rubio does really well compared to what people thought he finishing third there's no moral victory I think any more has has slipped like Steve Bullock's like if everyone finishes in the top five then they definitely have a chance coming by air the day of the Iowa caucus place fourth and fifth and to ride ticket to ride my

"Are you still trying to democracy of America? My answer is very simple. I've always been the mystic about America because he will are good. They're good citizens. Right. You're out there. Now meeting, thousands of them in my still. Right. Yeah. Greek. Dick Gephardt signing site in greater great. They're good. Yeah. A little sudden every day every day, so he's seventy eight years old, and he predicted he would win Iowa. He did. He did when Isla nineteen Eighty-eight Takaoka's finished second. But then New Hampshire they flipped in Gephardt finished second. And then after that it was. Wave that after that. No not. Exactly. No wave. Goodbye. But, you know, so it's not that far fetched when we talk about Gephardt entering talking about it since he's the rest of right? The same basically is Biden and Sanders. Right. It's not that far fetched. We held is he seventy okay good. He's one year older than Bernie sent get back in, man. Right. Let's do this. Exactly of if people are still asking them talking to other countries, not preposterous. Why not talk to of all the time? He gets asked all the time he could come into the race and save the Democratic Party. But wasn't had a wonderful. Just a young kid. Wait asking a question. It feels like he's bigger than what the number show Trump causing mayor Pete Dick Gephardt just called the mayor Pierre. That's what he goes. So he likes that is that I think he does. Okay does. That's why I don't call them. Mayor pete. Right. Or I try not to every once in a while, because it's easier that try to say blue the judge or whatever his name is I prefer to call him the religious bigot running in the race. Okay. But that's well. Well, triple eight nine hundred thirty three Ninety-three in America. It's estimated about fifty million of us. Miss work. At some point due to too much pain. And we spent over two thousand dollars a year taking things to combat that pain and sixty six percent of us, just think, well, I give up. I'm just going to have to live with it. But you don't, don't get to that point, try relief factor. I so many of our listeners have tried relief factor..

"Are people I think it's unfair. But there are people who would have looked at gore that way as as a guy who just was sort of next in line as sitting vice president, I think I talked about this on your podcast. You know, I had worked for Dick Gephardt on Capitol Hill, and I had relationships with a number of other people who were looking at running in the year two thousand some might have looked at some of them. I'm as maybe more inspiring in one way or another in. I liked a lot and I always had. But I mean, it was clear to me gore was going to be the nominee, and that if I went to work for anybody else, I was just going to be engaged in the exercise of taking down the eventual nominee as opposed to you know, helping him in trying to make him be as good as he could be. And I think that's what will chose to do. And I think he he was right to do it. He couldn't have foreseen the Obama like, you know, rise out of nowhere of this unknown Matt Santos, and nobody could have foreseen that. So you're saying will Bailey being the character perhaps most closely associated with you probably fall somewhere on the pragmatist idealist spectrum where you fall, I think, that's right. I mean, look, you're always in politics. I believe wanting to be an idealist always wanting to fall in love in a sense with the people you work for and be part of something greater than yourself. But if you're wanting to work steadily and be relevant and not just kind of tilt it wouldn't windmills some. Sometimes you just hacked calculate who's going to be standing at the end of a rough contest. And you know, you're you're often wrong about that. I think it was Harold ickies who was one of Clinton's deputy chiefs of staff who said that politics required. Equal parts cynicism and idealism, you know, you sort of had to have this capacity to believe, but you also needed to understand brass tacks. And I don't think there's any successful operative who doesn't have a bit of both in the real world while there's definitely a mix of cynicism and idealism that's at work with Josh share in his drive to figure out what they're going to do for the ad. We find out that between horns and Russell. They're both involved in a huge media blitz in the New Hampshire market. They're each spending eighteen hundred points out that I.

"Judge that might runs in Indiana mayor you're gonna have a lot of guys into bed. Oh, potentially. What would a woman have to do to outpace a field like that, Cory Booker, etc? First of all this is a race for delegates. So not rules understand that an audit to win the nomination. You have to go out there, and you have to build a coalition, and I think several of the women Elizabeth Warren commun- others. They're capable of building to kinda coalition. You need not just in the early four stays to Hawkeye state the grind state the Pell metal state in the seal state. But you gotta go out and build a strong coalition that can accrue delegates you've got to get on the ballot and me tell you I think one key she because super delegates will not be as prominent although we retain our voices not outvoting in terms of the first ballot. But it's important to go out there and get small Dona individual volunteers to get behind you candidacy. They have records of accomplishment, and let's just take a page from Hillary Clinton who received sixty six million votes in general election over four million votes more votes and Bernie Sanders in the two thousand sixteen primary Hillary head very diverse operation. She was able to get. Delegates not just in those early states. But she understood that you had to build a coalition in the south and you had to build a coalition midwest take a page from Hillary Clinton. And I think you have a recipe for success in two thousand twenty, you know, your campaign pro because you know, that nicknames of all the faith. That's how you know somebody's really been in the game. All over this country, so many presidential campaigns to lighten effect that you know, I get calls from my kids. Now, you have three hundred kids different daddies, get calls from my kids. And they're like, I'm thinking about jailbreak. I'm thinking about Clovis. I'm thinking about Terry McAuliffe, and you know, and then last night, I got one I'm thinking about Corey book. Joe by somebody in every Cam. Yeah. I mean, look Jesse Jackson Dick Gephardt, Walter Mondale. Michael Dukakis, Bill Clinton L at got them all running out of time. But I have to ask you because I know that you were running the DNC when that E mail hacked took place, and that you had a lot of scared people that were worried they didn't know what was out there. They didn't know who stole it didn't know what was going on. What do you make of the indictment that we've just seen about Roger stone? First of all our country was under attack in two thousand sixteen. It was a tackle democracy and yesterday use democrat party to throw the first sallow it was a cyber attack. But it had a very strong impact on. On the net just a twenty sixteen election, but it's still impacting our country. Now, I would hope that these individuals will tell the truth will face jury and help us as Americans get our country back on track. This was an attack on democracy, and they should go to jail, Donna believe in due process. But let me tell you this was an attack on our democracy. And yeah, and I know, you know, a lot of people who were personally impacted. Yes. This is the book for girls, y'all need to know about the colored girls have a very storied history in American politics. Thank you so much being here. Thank you joy have a great weekend. Gingrich pledges to work across the aisle as they always do for the first time Republicans don't have to. It's an epic hugely significant victory. Though, Newt stream many people called it. The Limbaugh congress. How does it feel to be part of a majority? That's right. It wasn't just the majority. They gotten people seem to be signing onto their vision of the country that it was split into two clear camps. Democrats were immoral welfare-state loving, politically, correct, feminists, Republicans were responsible balanced budget, promoting normal regular Americans one of the questions. I was asked as the as the reporters were peppering me was do you think Newt will moderators stance? Now that he's the speaker of the house. Nice said better not from the moment. Gingrich becomes speaker things. Get pretty red versus blue. What how are you going to make America better will I want to raise your. Taxes I'm going to give away money. Think this really sets up the dams to even be more of a challenge for themselves. The Democrats are really handcuffed, by the radical left that was I led by Bernie Sanders but now, is being passed. The torch between parents to like Elizabeth Warren and and others And this is the sort. Of thing that you know abolish ice single payer healthcare all of these things in your seen those play out in democrat primaries right now and so you know, there's a lot of talk that the Republican, party is engaged in a civil war, and that's kind of true but the Democrats? Going really under reported is that they're? In a huge meltdown right now. And if you guys remember back. In the nineteen eighties you know, there. Were Democrats like Dick Gephardt and and. Others who like Bill Bradley who. Led the charge to pass, the Reagan tax cuts. In nineteen eighty six and you. Don't even. Get one vote, from.
