"This always happens to me I compare this Diane Williamson to Blake Griffin and basketball fans get mad at me and I think it's because fans have a short memory they forget what Blake Griffin was like when he first came in the league and now he's injured in obscurity in Detroit on a bad team after that trade gets made clippers to pistons he'll put up big numbers last year on a team that lost more games than one and his career in LA was pretty good really good double double machine big time dunker hi riser in a league full of premium athletes looked like one of the best front court athletes if not the best frontcourt athlete in the entire league post arise people left and right went to the playoffs a ton went to five straight all star games was it all NBA player and so you know but there's a reason why Blake Griffin now that he's thirty isn't the player he was when he was twenty three and I've got concerns about Zion Williamson in the same way it's a pretty good career like ribbons made hundreds of millions of dollars then I would expect signed Williams to do the same thing yeah I don't think he's one of these number one overall pick busts was a bigger guy the heavier guy like Anthony Bennett from U. L. V. who just crept out I in Cleveland I don't think he's that but I don't I also don't see like a transcendent player and by that I mean someone who will define an era of basketball or be one of the names that completely defines that era I think I'll be an all star player not an MVP candidate every year if these you'll talked it if he is it's because he's so popular people want to put him in that rarefied air so what I've seen from him so far is really not a surprise I expected that he would average more than twenty points did he dunk on people I think they will die in the league increasingly is being played away from the basket it's not about dunks as much as it is threes in perimeter shooting that's the way the NBA handled things I and once it is really that type of player now maybe you know he's the type of guy that all the NBA is digging his axe and he completely changes the paradigm you might think so I don't I don't think he's like such a you I called a physical specimen but I don't think he's a physical specimen in the way that say Shaquille o'neal was where there was no answer form the only answer was that you know Shaq would get himself out of shape and it would take a maybe fifty games or sixty games to get himself in shape in the middle of his career I mean who do people want me to compare Zion Williamson to lebron magic Michael those types of guys to make a golf analogy if it will Brian James is say Tiger Woods if lebron James is like Tiger Woods yeah I think Zion Williamson will end up being Rory McElroy but the other is gonna be a gap there all star to all time great I think he's more the former than the latter and I don't think that's insulting but but I think they're somebody's eye on zealots out there that they take it that way I was thoroughly and entertained by the way that he played in I I'm just about every time I watch him I'm thoroughly entertained whether he's playing well or not because he's just so unique he's so different for every basketball player out there.

D. he's not playing the season he's still a bigger star all those guys who are the superstars are bigger stars and by the way Sam Williams and is not a superstar yet he is not even in the composition of a superstar he's the number one pick in the draft had a lot of hate coming into the league and his so far his first two games have been very good we have no idea whether he's going to live up to those expectations who is living up to those expectations or far exceeding them is John Marantz and that's through your rookie of the year is I hate this conversation we're now we should have a conversation whether Diane Williamson is you know should be considered in the rookie of the year voting or whether he can give John or at a run for his money what we have to do in the second half of the seas I mean you would have to be for me to even ever try to take that award for jot from John Moran at this point you would have to be so super human in the second half of the season of yours I on Williams that which I don't think is possible matter how good he is frankly I don't think it's possible for him to achieve that award particularly considering that they are limiting him in minutes but John Moran is going to do it for an entire season long John or it would also have to fall on his face in order for me to ever consider giving that's designed Williamson because what John rants done so far is really incredible and he doesn't have the hype around him as I on Williams in does that has everything to do with them coming into the league that has nothing to do with what they've done in the league because John Moran deserves that star recognition or at least at this point in his eye on this she's amber Wilson I'm in the golden this is game day on ESPN radio so we're on the same page there amber I need your help I'm I'm okay I'm I have a question here for you how because I I there's a show I want to watch but it's on the streaming service and I don't have it but I have every streaming service in.

I know that a lot of these guys at the combine Chicago are gonna compete what measure of their. this should be a surprise but time is about David Griffin's going to add this information before makes the draft. so what the news comes out at six six maybe that maybe or just six six but. yeah I found a troubling. one of the best matches in college football the **** takes place in Ann Arbor and number nineteen Michigan hosts number fourteen Iowa I was not lost a single game this season coming in or for now on Michigan was dominated by Wisconsin losing by twenty one points last and they played a ranked opponent the Wolverines come to games four point favorites at the moment to buy some Michigan getting upset by Iowa this weekend a man give me I'll. is the hot guy in the rise the I. I. N. A. N. B. But since you announce this before we know whether or not the Cleveland Cavaliers going to have the number one overall pick which undoubtedly is going to be I on Winston in the upcoming NBA draft who gives a damn about the Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron not there anymore. Kevin loved should be on his way out. Don't torture that man by keeping them in Cleveland, send them some place where he could compete for championship. He's a damn good player. Lead JR Smith out of his misery. Will you look at at the Cleveland Cavaliers other than Sexton out of Alabama. Who the hell else is there? Give a damn about Cleveland while we just so y tambi, congratulations. Bravo. Bravo. It's so touching. I mean. Good good. Good fine. And. Breaking on like mcgarth. Okay. He's the coach. Okay. Let's play with the breaking news. And then they actually had to do a segment about it. Why? I'm sorry. Cleveland LeBron's out there anymore. No one cares about you right now. No other Cavaliers kid about the Browns. How you care about the Indians. But a Cavalier's. No, no, no your day is calm and gone. Let's get Zion. And by the way, speaking Ziya, let me be the first to say, ladies and gentlemen, I got to tell you from the bottom of my heart. I am hoping and praying that Zion. Williamson ends up in one or two places. New York or LA. I know mayor will Cain said today Atlanta, and I like him with trae young and all of this stuff. They play the fast pace. He's going to be bombing threes you guys Zion. Williamson a monster in the open court and in the post. I get that the bulls. Yeah, you know, I don't want them their wish that on them because when you have that level of athleticism and evidently people are going to want you to be MJ. There's only one. So when I look at it from that perspective. No, that's not a good thing. Phoenix. I wouldn't wish that on my worst nightmare. I want Devon book out out of there. And my man James Jones. I'm ruined for good, brother. So I shouldn't say all of that. Because I'm fond of him. And I want him to do. Well. But I mean Phoenix is it's like, it's like basketball purgatory. I'm sorry. But since Mr. service taken over, and then Tonia, Steve Nash have been there. They only thing relevant about the relevant about Phoenix is the is the dust the desert dust that said nobody gives a damn about the Phoenix Suns. I mean, we can now because the entree and has been associated with their pay for play scandal. That's got their coach at zone and hot water because he's playing for the Phoenix Suns now. But that's it. Nobody gives and Devon Booker. I mean when we look at Devon Booker iheart felt sympathy. We've thought about sending Dr Phil there we've thought about sending psychiatrists he needs all the help. He could get down. They stink. Okay. So I care about the Phoenix. The only thing relevant about them as the dust in the desert. That's right. I said it the desert so you think about those cactus trees, and you think about dust and you'd think about heart. I mean, hot suffocating, he and weather. That's the there's nothing else about Arizona that moves you might think about no damn Phoenix Suns. So we don't want. Diane out there. We want him in New York or LA. And here's what New York is New York. New York has never had an athletic fee, non plan above the rim. That was a walking highlight reel. We've never had that. Okay. Whoa. Cloth. Fraser Earl the Pearl Monroe from the seventies. They were skilled players who could really really ball. But they want highlight reels Patrick Ewing wasn't a highlight reel. Hey, Don, who was who who was the Dunkin? Kenny, Kenny something that was drafted by the Knicks damn I can't remember. I'm just having brain lock right now won the slam dunk contest. Kenny Walker out of Kentucky and he could don't because of necessarily play. More Jackson was rookie of the year..

Even though the one in sports today is a pretty good one. We start the bidding on dumbest thing about Diane Williamson with Chris Cody who who said publicly that this was good for Nike, and I was licked. I was literally trying to think of fictitious scenario that would be worse for Nike with one of its products than this one. Because even LeBron has money already like if it happens still LeBrun, it's not great. But this poor kid. Yeah. Might literally be poor. If they're not actually doing what everyone in college does and paying him in suitcases filled with cash, it's a horrible point by Chris bought. Stay in trench, my friend. What are we talking about? And you're still wearing them. I mean me you're wearing Nike. I'm wearing. Oh, that's interesting. We still wear Nikes through his credit Nike is on the tip. Just everyone stone. Just wait until that commercial comes out, they spend this thing they tell you say that stock was down one point three percents time lost Billy short-term loss. I I appreciate you zagging while others are zigging, and I normally make the argument in the case of football, for example, when they have their scandals that there is no actual cost to the bad, publicity that people continue to watch the problem is that when you're in the sneaker selling business, you cannot have a catastrophe happen on the feet of an unprecedented player your sneakers ruined everyone's nights. I mean ruins Bruins to God says bet came in here yesterday saying Duke, minus nine was a gift a gift from the gambling gods. I said those stand give us what you got here. Because I mean, I know we can rail against shamateurism. But I honestly can't think of a scenario. I can't think of one that involves the player that would be more damaging than this one with the sneakers injuring this particular player that's a rockstar basketball team. That's one. Of those teams to we haven't had it in a while. It's part of the reason that college basketball is suffering slightly. We don't have those UNLV's those fab fives. We don't have players we know for very long Kentucky comes through. And it's a bunch of rented players, but this rockstar basketball team, led by that lead singer because of that lead singer. I mean, he's the only reason it's not a rockstar basketball team. Once you take him out of the equation. I mean, yes, so STAN what do you have for us on that? Because it had to make you little six in Zion. Williamson go down last night. Well, look, I mean. Yeah. Of course. But I don't think that it's going to have any long-term effect on on Nike. I mean, I it's a freak accident. Now, if four five more guys go down in the next two or three days because shoes blow out I mean, if the NBA goes back tonight and somebody goes down because of that. Okay. Maybe it's different. But it's a one time thing people are upset about Zion being out. But by next week. Nobody's going to have any negative views of Nikes and when kids walk in the store. They're buying Nike's. It's actually not a one time thing this happened to Ginobili years ago. Did we remember that? No. Because it doesn't matter is it possible that Michael Jordan because he's from North Carolina has something to do with this. Oh, absolutely. He ordered the code red. Doubt about it. There's no question..

"And you can also play along on our Instagram page at Golic and wingo. Brought to you by Golic and wingo. There you go. Frank Kellyanne is our guest for book today. I've been around here book, it is a segment that this Stolz show for my show prior to this one here, essentially, how it works. I'm going to read a statement, you guys I'm would ask you to book it or not essentially if you like to take your book. Got it. Pretty simple. You pick it up along the way I will dad demonstrate first and foremost, your dad. Kyrie Irving is good leader book. Nah. I'm not going to book that I mean, he just he just comes college on Saturday saying I've been handling this wrong. Okay. Now. Now, we'll see going forward. What goes on? So I'm going to hold off on that for a little bit. And I'm not cooking. I think I mean the transition from not booking it to booking. So I'm trending towards book because he's trending in the right direction. I'm bookies on his way to be. Aw. There you go. We're going to book it Frank book it as well. Powrie urban knows what he's doing it plays the game. And it can dribbling a circle more than Russell Wilson can run around. In a circle Beth was crazy. There you go forget that they grossly under eight dribbling in a circle for that reason, I'll book big. Speaking of other circle dribblers trae jazz, Martin is more valuable to the rockets, then LeBron James is to the Lakers, you're going to at the Lakers and the rockets play Saturday night at eight thirty on ABC, this tears at at the fiber of my soul because every year LeBron James should be the analogy. But James harden is doing is incredible this year. Gosh, this is a tough one man James harden, by the way, just past LeBron James for most career fifty plus point games. No, I'm still celebrate has more volume. I I'm not poking this one either. I mean, the better player in both teams would be awful without the respect the players, but LeBron's better. So I'll sell say LeBron. I mean, I mean, the the rockets I mean, the Lakers are essentially the Cavaliers this year without people forget that. I look at those guys if you take teams are now there's no difference onto defense. Right. Check everything going on. Is that you. That set was playing a prank on me understand when you're playing the lack of a came alive. He's also got that ability. All right. Very good. Shack pranking Stephen a ongoing a time to be alive, dad. Yeah. The warriors are the most hated team in sports. In sports, DeMarcus cousins. No, he said that maybe two years ago. Yeah. But but not now, I think that's worn off. So they're not the most sports. No. But the most hated team in sports is playing this weekend. The patriot the patient. Yes. Every John jealousy. More than hey jealousy. Because they just keep out people by God every year is a fire sale here. How are you doing this? So I would say I'm not booking about you know, what I want to give him time. Because like you said about the transition for Kyrie Irving second half of the season when the warriors start to play. Well, again, I have a feeling a lot of that's going to come back out with you hate dominance more than anything is going to be semi series. There is such a no, you're the funny guy. Right. There is such a flow to sports and leagues. Now, isn't there like the NBA figured it out a while ago? It seems by that you take time down and rest your body. The NFL seems to be the same way. Now, if you look three of the four teams have re the they took a part of their season three or four games they really struggled to saints down. And now, they're they're the ones that are left. That's what happens. The right time. I mean you mentioned rest to start the season. The Rams didn't play any of their starters. Air donelson set records at single snap at a preseason. There we go. All right, Trey. Yeah. Diane Williamson was ion Williamson should not stop playing college basketball. You're gonna book I am because I think he enjoys the hell. Yeah. Book he should not do what you want enjoys completely agree basketball guys where they're not playing basketball. They play basketball. That's what they do. They love doing it. So I completely book that I'm going to go Bill Walton here and you'll never get a chance to talk. Again. Here's the deal guys. He should play college basketball while he's playing professional basketball. Do it play everything. What what I thought you're looking at me on the monitor. You're looking at fish. That didn't fit the structure of the Bill Walton impression. While you're at it. While you're at Diane play high school basketball in eighth grade basketball is well if you love basketball, you should be playing every league possible. Thank you Bill. We got time for one more book for the end of the second. All right. We got time for one more. And this is actually going to go to our new friend, Patrick Mahomes. Believe is in studio with us now trying bars. The Arctic blast sweeping. The midwest will be an advantage for the chiefs this weekend. I go up there and do the bus can't. And who's got more of them up before? It's me your Andrew luck. That's what I'm trying to figure out with Bernie. India? Just try and gone through. And do the best candidates. Whether it's cold or warm..

"Gaga can say she she is. And then people like, oh, she's so good as an actress and the singing they think she'll be Bette midler, and I'm like. I wonder if lady Gaga thinks that's a compliment. Stop it. Not the Miller's not good either. But just don't let him you cried. I didn't know I didn't your eyes get moist at all. All right. New president of baseball ops. You'll be on with Tom and John hate the. If not a man, you cry a commercial course, you cried stars for what I got. No problem. In touch with my feelings. All right. We'll Choi Tom and John if that at the very beginning of their show at fan fest, and they still got triples alley. I'm gonna shed a tear. All right. Four hundred eighty over John Lennon, like I said at the top of their show at three o'clock sometime during the first hour of their program, Draymond green who had a foot contusion, which I thought was an interesting way to put his problem because obviously contusion was like, you're bleeding, somebody cut you. But we're finding out that Draymond has a to- sprain. Yes. And you will not play tomorrow. Takubo and the bucks. But the idea that this is something. Truly problematic. Just not the case. We gotta go through the text line at sorts of in the south before we talked to Mike Breen the voice of the NBA. People. Do cosign stars bona said, yes, it is. Nine to five they got an idea why not replace Lucille, Charles Oakley. I know I will not I will not demean the ferocity of Charles Oakley, but making a mascot. I shan't do that fits how old do you think? Diane Williamson really is. That's great. Hey, keep allows you. I look at Zion. Williamson and go I see your player. I see you. The seven oh seven age ain't nothing. But a number. We we we we wore these people down rod seventy seven after countless the wire, Omar references. I binge watched all five seasons in about three weeks. One question. Why Omar gotta go out like that man that might be Omar little as the greatest character in the history of American television, and his demise is one of the most ill-fitting ways for character of his magnitude to go out. That's right. I said it it was week wasn't going, by the way, you welcome, sir. Or ma'am, they we introduced you to the wire -solutely, and you finally got blessed go to breaking bad next report back when you're done. That's a good. That's a good transition. But you gotta compare it to the wire naturally. No, no, no. I'm not. I'm just saying that if you go from binge-watching the wire to get in deep into breaking bad lit breaking bad stand on its own. Yes. Don't compare it to the wire. It's a natural deal. Also to like with the sopranos, you know, people like, oh, did you like the wire better like they're just different? They're just different. You know, what maybe this is just a part of the show. What I feel as though I I just I got to be extra spicy. Sopranos mad overrated, man. And listen if you want to fight we do it. I don't care. It's just overrated chocolate ice cream pralines and cream, orange sherbert. They all have their own place at various times one is not necessarily better than the other. It's just they're all good flavors of ice cream. Didn't say it was bad. I didn't like it would in the pantheon of great television. I'm just saying. So right. While the wire, I can feel your anger Ono the wire to me supersedes all of them. Sure. Yeah. Pause is I'm trying to think of I like breaking bad better than the sopranos. Yeah. You do. I think I do think I do. And so I would I have the sopranos probably third. So mad at me. No, no, no, no. No, no. That's four hundred imagine. Larry bears reaction. Bob said win three or the next one's free..

"League announcement yesterday, Chris, that they're going to offer a buck, twenty five to one and done players and give them an opportunity to be exposed to NBA infrastructure rather than being one and done at the collegiate level, how much did the NBA have to do with that. Bob in the NBA has everything to do with with what the g. league does. And and look, they've been exploring the, you know, they're not. They're tired of the one and done stuff they want to change. They're looking for ways to make it more palatable for these guys to come out, but not necessarily come out and and come into the NBA. I still rich. I don't know if it's gonna make that much of a difference. I just think there's too many kids that you know go out and you know it's twelve and thirteen year olds a watching Duke and Kentucky in the final four. And even if they don't wanna stay for years and don't give a damn college it self. They want that experience. I think for one year I it's, it's going to be too. It's not gonna get enough takers to make it really relevant, but rich. If you're like, take Zion Williamson, for example, if I didn't want to go to college one hundred twenty five grand wouldn't make that much of a difference. You can get a sneaker deal. Probably pay him ahead of time. You know, mid six figures if not more because these guys want to. Get into, you know, the Diane Williamson team and be part of his NBA future. So to me for the top tier guys, money has never really been the big issue they just want. I think they want that that major college experience one-season Chris pre she at the time man you, you did the the, the family Gamba today. We're in an interview, my wife and now me, I think my children, the only people to answer questions posed by me and my wife today. That's about it. You. Your kids. I can FaceTime. How much do you charge for babysitting Chris, how it goes up because you're out in the west coast, and I'm I'm feeling with the nice fall weather in the northeast right now. Okay. Well, actually it would be easy because just put the Celtics for the kids. They'll. I do what I do. It meets coaster. I don't wanna be up every night. Watching LeBron the Lakers at eleven o'clock didn't go to bed till like two o'clock. It was a late night. Last night. I'm not gonna lie all the all the time. For example, you're gonna watch to the Lakers and so do you fall you fall in the camp of c. web and Barclay or others who think they're making the playoffs last. I mean, Rick fares is going gonna be a curve for them as they try to figure each other out trying to play that switching defense, which they should because everybody in the league that successful does it now, but you can't learn that in one training camp. I just they are eventually going to get rich. They're going to be a team, the rattles off eight, ten or something like that. At some point this season, I just think in that conference they're gonna put themselves in too big a hole to get back into back into the race in fast enough to get that blast bought. All right, Chris. Thanks for the call, brother preciado. Let's chat soon. Obviously, we're just down the street from the Lakers of practice facility. So when you come out here for that, let let us know. I'd love to see in person. You bet. I'll be there. You've got an act, Chris Mannix YES that stands for yahu sports. No playoffs the Lakers I just can't buy it. I don't know. I just can't buy it. I know how tough it is. I get how tough it as the nuggets are better, New Orleans better. Utah's better. You can't tell me they can't speak in the eighth and final playoff spot at think the better than the Spurs and the Timberwolves the Tim rules. It's it's amazing. It's like that was their infrastructure week last week. And now we've moved onto other of things to focus too. That the the timber wolves are done like we're not Butler's going to bail himself in practice, and we're just not even going to. There's not. There's no there there anymore. That's it. He'll just show up and he's just about the team now I don't buy that. I read, so that's what I'm saying. You know, I don't Phoenix his better..

"I mean, there's a large dynasty in the seventies and eighties at the university of Victoria, which is on an island just off and couvert. But the smart is the became in essentially on the same level as coach k. and cow, it'd Canada recognize. So you look at Carlton like the last couple of years. I mean, like this year that's supposed eight twice full miss Matty last year, they'd be provident Vanderbilt twice and Alabama here before they'd be Wichita state near before that they'd be failure you before that they lost the tier accused by eating them twice, twenty thirteen. They lost a Syracuse and not and beat a Wisconsin team, but Nigel Hayes, Sam decker and the final four. I remember that one that was that was the first time I remember like. Peaking my interest about Carlton's when they beat that Wisconsin team. I was like that that seems weird. How did that happen? But they so the excuse that these teams are putting out like the teams that are losing a Carlton. They're putting out these excuses that like Carlton has been playing all summer together and explain that to us like, so does their season never end? Is that what I'm to understand? Like they've been practicing also, they're just not rules about this like there are an NCAA so they can just is that what's going on is out? Is there some to that? Yeah, like the whole idea of widen team take Iraq. Candidates, it's likely that she says international for get you not really paying for. I've been played or anything people take it like you're going to do this week plays Wednesday, Friday, Sunday in Canada, with a large when you have a team, that's a lot of freshmen or you want international trip because then you can get more playing time with them together before you're actually. But when you're seeing the excuses, you're not really seeing coaching. KOMO commenting about the, they're not saying, oh, you know, we didn't have these guys started or jet lag with an issue, or they're playing Keeble rule or your money looks different. I mean, which is actually are coming out and saying that. He's are actually like legitimate, you know, like I mean, the one was like there's a couple of comments obviously that, yeah, you know, we're just gonna go up and try and play games together and see what happens. But lose games lose game, like people will like a little different, but they're not that differently. Like there is no reason that Mike shouldn't be able to put up solid numbers against us. He discovered you discovered Putin and then was just shoveling food in his mouth and then, yeah. And then that was, yeah, he was out of commission for today's Diane Williamson around fifteen for almost forty eight hours now, and I'm from the free fifty hit a dunk from the free throw line this morning, their practice. So we should say his foot was on the line. We, we just saw the video has focused on the line, so it does doesn't quite count. Can I ask you? Can I ask you about the Carlton offense? I is it literally just shooting threes because I saw against Mike Don, the hit fifteen, three pointers and shot sixty percent from the field. Is that just what they. They're known for just shooting team or is that just an aberration? I. I..
