Great job there. Like a freely fun group. And they're very accepting when i come in because i don't get to come too often But i wish. You traded him on a on a pontoon boat with your family to me. It's the fact that this is voluntary and this is just a really really good first step in my opinion in telling this tennessee titans coaching staff the team. I'm here to be a tight and i'm here to play. I don't need to beer. I'm julio jones thirty two years old future hall of famer. Perhaps i don't need to but i am and i think the fact that he is hungry to learn and of course. I'm sure this doesn't surprise you. The first pasa practice from ryan tannehill went to number two damn strength. Exactly no and and and do you think diana direct diner. We're seeing espn here. Do you think there's anybody in atlanta seeing Julio working out right now voluntary after he missed so much practice time last year. Seem what the hell. Where was that guy. Is there anybody thinking. Atlanta thinking that when they see him out there at the volunteer. Abel's out here and thank god. Thank you. I'm thinking because you have to figure you know we know his style. We know who's coaching way. We know where he comes from. What how they did things in new england so to now be trying to make this little mini new england that he's trying to build here in in in a great way. That was the big question mark for me when when this was all happening and i heard tennessee pushing him pushing. I i was like i was just going to work. I had a hard time believing that they're going to allow. Julio jones not to practice if he doesn't want to practice from had heard in atlanta so this is this is just a really good first step granted it's day one of the honeymoon but Hopefully they can go a few years here with some success. It's exciting it really. Is they gotta be all fired. Up so I appreciate you hopping on. Because i'm sure you're doing. Millions of sportscenter hits. And then you are you. "Knowing that. It's going automated back to that. But i'm not going there and i don't know that situation and if you give him twenty five million which you're going to me receiver to wait a minute. You giving him twenty. The new one has been here for the last six years putting in work. Okay i need to get my money all right so you like the patriots and i like i like the patriots south. I love oakland. Vegas vegas i love vegas opportunity. They don't have a big. They don't have a traditional x receiver. Backside guy for dictates the coverage. They don't have a guy. Julio will look mean in that raiders uniform. They don't have you mean got henry ruggs black. They got the humphry. Not humphries the kid from clemson will slot. Can't take his name on top of my head. But they got him nelson left right williams. I think they cut him. Renfro humphries and went renfro sound very similar. No saint type clear. I'm just going to be honest with you. i'm not going. I receiver. I know what you're trying to do. Cole beasley any element. i got it. I understand what you're doing. But that makes sense. San francisco make sense. I don't know that they have the assets to give up familiarity. They got they got depot. Sammy but you add him with jimmy. Garoppolo trae lands be nice. Baltimore obviously is kinda clear cut. But i've revisit. They drafted a guy. They sent me walk ins and they got hollywood brown. I don't know if there's room for julio two week and next week as diane rossini's reporting you going back to see some things going down in the first round pick could be involved in that. Let's get back into the nba conversation. Derek harper a legend. Even here in new york especially here in new york Played for the knicks also mavericks mavericks tv analysts joins us right now on the goodyear hotline and first of all great to talk to you. Good morning thanks for joining us. And you know. We've we've talked a lot about luca and what we've seen so far from him in this series and you see him on a daily basis there in dallas. He has become that player. That jay will believes is soon going to be the face of the league. What what is it about him that you see this year and even in this series that seeing him taking it yet to another level i agree with j will Good morning first of all to the key to j. dr I agree with jake. And what i see is a guy that plays his best against the best players in the nba. The night out. I keep hearing people say. They need to put on luca collided. Wanna see luke. And i have a lot of respect for while but can't stop it. I mean i've seen a look at forty. Two point triple doubles against allies deepest. And why they saw the defender. But lucas keeps people off balance so much. He's not the quickest guy in the world and stop the fastest guy but he plays that a real unique pace that really gives any kind of defense problems and then he has so much size and so much strength when he just in the lanes. Virtually unstoppable so i. I don't think anybody could stop Other than lucrative. I think sometimes his shot selection. You can question. But i'm white with jay will. He's at the top of of the league right now. I think he's top five player right now and we'll certainly soon be the pace of leap. I agree with you. D harp at you know a lot of times you know. The conversation goes with players. Like this. you know kane mark. Cuban company surround him with enough talent for him to win in dallas. How far is this dallas mavericks team away from winning a world championship you. I think they're a rasheed. Wallace of dennis rodman away. Jay is what. I think. I think they need a guy that doesn't concern himself with shots. What a guy that can kind of police the paint with the physicality that That lends itself to the playoffs. If you understand where. I'm coming from a dirty word kind of a guy and you know dwight pol not quite that guy really solid and what his role is. But he's not quite that guy Willie palestine is a good player. But he's not that guy either but a very physical player. I mean i. I like the mix of this team. This team believes in each other. They're selfless they played with each other. So they're not a lot of holes in this team other than in maturity they're very young team as you can see From time to time but all in all. This team is extremely solid as a team. I agree There was another situation that happen last night. During the washington wizards philadelphia seventy sixers game where fan poured popcorn on russell. Westbrook what. What's your whole take on that situation. D harper how. You know the fact that that happened fans actually. We were reading something to replies this morning. We're fans like oh. Don't be soft. Just popcorn literally had key alan i. We were living this morning. Yeah i'm limited to. I mean i just think that a lot of fans be as they start to think that they own you as a as a professional athlete. I think there's a line that you can cost and what happened. The russ last night was certainly a line. That was crossed. And you're not allowed to react the way you really want to react to something. I mean people pay their money to come see basketball football seat bits but that doesn't give them the the right to To do something like that. I mean. I think they're both telling what would have done if somebody did that to him and he was close enough to to take care of the situation already know d- heart stopping has to something has to be done is all. I can say medicine to get it to me. I know i'm going to have a lot of beef with it. And i'm going to try to correct the person however by any means necessary and then when you do that then you're you're overreacting and you're the problem and those kind of things so it's a frustrating thing. The league has to do something about it. No no no doubt about it. I mean there are million security guys around every single night right so they have to do a better job. Derek harper joining us. On the goodyear hotline. Did you ever have that experience as a player in your time that that ever anything like that happen with you or even a teammate of yours. No i've never experienced it. The only thing. I've ever experienced a young kid telling me that he paid my salary was. They can still be a hat too. I was rushing back to get ready for the team meeting. And he told me. I had to sign his autograph. Because we pay yourself. That's as far as he's ever gone to me. I can't repeat what i said but Like i said it's gone too far up fortunately for me. I haven't had the experience. But i couldn't imagine what it would feel like under those circumstances. Yeah so you. We have dallas mavericks and the clippers. Now game three. This series goes back to dallas. Are they almost at full capacity there in that arena thousand fans. Yeah the. I don't know if you've you saw last night's game at the garden fifteen thousand you know what that building sounds like when it's full. It was pretty loud last night..

"More from john jay williams zubin next so market madness moves on the orange crush region speaking of crush us jacob. Degrom in the one four in this he was up against carlos correa of the astros and he just absolutely obliterated them. I mean ninety percent of those ninety percent of the votes. Just i mean it was like a landslide. Jacob degrom moves on. Chris canty feeling vindicated and now in the two three. And this'll be important. Now baker mayfield and von miller again. You can vote at key. Jay z on twitter to see who moves on baker baker mayfield. Von miller would baker in cleveland. And we learn this right. That baker mayfield dislike the now the new. He's like lebron used to be. He's the favorite son of the cleveland market. When they don't have anything else though either right they love him have kevin. What else do they have in. Love like you put. Kevlar so come on. I mean you deserve to wear. I think they don't they don't have reich so he would be the favorite song right now. He's their guy he's got he's got him and he's earned the right to be there guy on the way plate last year. He was almost pushed out of town a year ago. Really does feel like that. He was last year in that place. That dare i say break. Daniel jones in giants quarterback would make make break maybe a break year daniel jones with the giants if they go on and he shows major progress from a year ago. The now you pick up his fifth year option and you start to have that conversation about is our god but anything short of showing that or playoff appearance of serious plan you got six and teen. We would one game left plate. None of that. I'm talking about really not because of the visions bang. Jackie had a shot. You're counting on us. A little bit. A baker mayfield and the personality traits right. Like what. cleveland is cleveland. Like my mom's family. Ohio like my uncle lives in cleveland. You'd go there. Blue collar work really really hard baker. Mayfield walk on the story about how he came up successfully stories in a narratives fit together. Yes they call the to smaller quarterback he always had to prove. Yeah a lot of things like that. So i guess they embrace that but of course. They only embrace performance. That's the most important part of it as key is pointing out. We're we're doing doing this. On one of the monitors. Tim tebow his wall onto we spot shadow. Hispano a cameras. Focus an walking from the car to fried without. I can't voluntary ban. Ten people chewing gum spacek. We don't which guy he is. We have to watch out to the house. Relationship between trevor lawrence and tim tebow. They're standing next to each other. But nobody's talking. That is just amazing. Visit fractured but again baker. Mayfield von miller. You can vote at key. Jay z on market matt is brought to you by indeed resumes early resumes with an indeed skills test. Better visit indeed dot com slash credit. You know speaking of nfl topics. We were talking about this earlier on the show. And it's regarding. Julio jones and the the video that aj brown put on on tiktok that was basically recruiting. Julio jones tennessee titans something that jay brought up and key shutdown but brown makes the case as he does Has he did on tiktok for. Julio jones to come to nashville barely shit okay. I'm going to say also things right here. Listen to me closely. You have ten of you. Mr finger roller sell airtime air. He'll missing. he does what he needs to be done right. He's a leader. He's a great passer. he's in next. he'll binding superhuman. We don't even have the discuss him. He speak for himself. Look i'm meany looking picture like okay then me up cutting pro bowl year to not a big deal kind of a big deal but not really. Okay away kind of view. The gold of our era of our receivers. Help me help you come home leo. Come home help me help jerry. Maguire autumn now get for those on radio in the video. He's wearing a falcons. Julio jones jersey but the number eleven which is. aj's number in nashville tennessee. He's got using tape a number eight over it. Which gives you got it right so you see all the weapons that he had there. He's talking about all the different players that they've got there in that offense and you still say if you were him. You wouldn't want to go there. no. I'm trying to hit the new england. If i'm him i'm trying to. I'm trying to get to new. If new england alabama connection with the quarterback jones jones for another ten years but anyway i'm sorry It won't happen this year. he will pot allen. I think when you look at it yet can tennessee using diane. Rossini was on with us earlier and she also say that probably. That's probably not going to happen. Even though it's out there it's probably not to tennessee. I think when you look at. Julio jones wants to win win win and get to the playoffs winning so he's gotten to a super bowl and had a chance to win and then obviously really their fingers and so i think with julio jones type player in a new england uniform would create major problems for the afc east as well as afc. As a whole. And i look at it from what they've been able to do in free agency through the draft bringing guys back from opting out and the fact that the coaching staff is still there. You know cam. Newton is going to be a better quarterback for them this year. There's no question about it can take your pick right here. All right on this maker. Picky mack jones leads the patriots to a super bowl championship or cam. Newton goes six and ten. What you're patriots fan. Would you know. You're keyshawn as a patriots fan. Would you rather. You're how whatever seventy six entail six thousand eight hundred sixty six i. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna play that game because i know he's not getting on the field day. No i don't like it. He played a game. I play the game right though. I dollars game. You have to pick one. And that's how you know you're not played.

"Not making the same throws downfield that he did last year when you look at gregg roman and as far as his offense for the last decade or so they're always in the bottom half of of teams in the nfl with passing rate. Like that's just what they do right like. He wants to run the football. There's a reason why. Jk dobbins at one hundred yards. Why gus edwards at eighty yards in. It's not like they want to run the ball. In the more obviously had what seventy or eighty yards rushing to like this is a team that is completely contaminate why they can't play from behind but completely contented just run the era of the ball all be i mean. He threw a pick six on that first drive. That's that's a killer could potentially be a fourteen point swing credit to them for actually saying in it. Because you do that against that defense when you're a not so good team like the cleveland browns over when baker did that on the first drive l'amour battled them back but there's more turnovers you don't trust him in the same way he's just not making the same plays. There isn't a good explanation for it either. He caught lightning in a bottle. Or you give him time in the. He'll tap back into that and have an opportunity to play backup to his averages but he's not the same sort of player and i'm struggling to explain. Why might on on the road ben situation. He threw twenty four yards in the first half for twenty four yards in the first half. Think about that and then they were talking. I was reading. I think diane rossini who is who is reporting on it they basically in the second half set. Ben just draw please in the huddle like if we're playing out at tammy park you run this way you run to drag you run a post. Let's do it. And they came back when he had one hundred seventy yards in that. Second half the pittsburgh or such an interesting case. Because they have a really good core around ben but ben almost as just somehow holding onto like a really good team. I just can't explain why. I still take the chiefs. I still take patrick mahomes. I'm not talking myself. And i know the chiefs lost over the steelers. Yeah i know that. She's loss at home. To raid the raiders. Which is one of the more inexplicable losses of the season. A raider raiders to be pretty good on the road. I can attest the I'm not talking myself into the steelers especially without the bush. I'm just always gonna take patrick. Mahomes i think matt patrick mahomes. Honestly just playing with his prey when he loses to the raiders and when he goes overtime with the chargers. I think patrick mahomes just wants to go down the field that he's not taking some of the singles he's going for. The home runs as me. Explain to me swearing in in a playoff game. You saw that guy was multiple. Scores that entire run in the postseason. It was just so easy. For until i see that guy actually lose again in the postseason. Mugger believe it can happen. Because he's just the best player in the nfl. I think i'd take i'd still. I understand what you're saying. I think in that man. I think i'd take the steelers. The steelers have bit overwhelming. Like like the really good. I'm just not. I'm just not because in that game so far the steelers have have been so good so good been able to dictate the pace of the game and they haven't asked much upper. Ben rothlisberger their defense. I don't care who you are. Patrick mahomes is going to have to four. Set offense to put up points right. He's going to have to. I'll go to my grave saying that. And i just don't think if you were. The steelers have found successes here is that they're not asking big ben at because big ben is proven time and time again if you start asking them at this stage in his career he's going to turn the ball over is done. They beat the titans and the ravens on the road back to back weeks. I mean the titans one defeat it when they got there. Well i understand. Look it's it's a losing battle right now arguing that they're not the same team on the road when they have to. Really impressive wins at tennessee and apple two more. But i'm just always going to go down fighting. Always take patrick mahomes and fight. Always i'll take mick cronin ask from the moment they're born. You do everything to.

"Didn't have to David weathers question going there but I think we went into an interesting place I'd like to explore that a little bit more in a future episode. By the way, we have breaking news in the NFL time recording Diane Rossini just tweeted this it plays into what we were discussing earlier in this episode untold by the Titans and bills players they were told there is an option for playing their game their Sunday. Game on Monday or Tuesday in Nashville if that happens Thursday night's game a massive game for Fox and their Thursday night contract between the chiefs and the bills would have to be moved to Saturday as all being discussed. So they keep their own window but now they're going head to head against the big college football game. You're you're seeing all these networks, pay the price because I'm sure ESPN which got plenty of free promotion. Early, Game David I don't know if you notice that because they have the lesser game, all of a sudden because Patrick MOMS playing bill belichick on Monday, this is going to have shockwaves throughout all these networks because now messing once again with ESPN, what happened we're suppose a on Saturday night we have the big college football primetime game. Now, we gotta go up against chiefs, the bills potentially. So just be aware it's exactly what we spoke about earlier in the episode the next step in dealing with these outbreaks, many outbreaks, her positive tests is you have to have flexible scheduling and the reason why you keep. Hearing it can only be moved to a Monday or Tuesday because that's the first best preference because if you play Monday Tuesday, you can still turn around and play the next weekend. If you play Wednesday you screwed up the following weekend. So that's the first step then if they can't play Monday Tuesday, then you do what they did with the titans where you then postponed the game and then work with by weeks. Then if that doesn't work, you work with adding by weeks it's everything we said there now in step two of that rescheduling plan because of the outbreak, but when the marlins had their outbreak it. Obviously, impacted some of the series that they had then like it definitely impacted the Phillies, but the phillies were able to get back to business sooner than the MARLINS. This this heightens outbreak now has penalty on open rothlisberger came out and said like we're at a disadvantage now because our by comes earlier in the season, we could use that by later it's competitive disadvantage and now the chiefs are affected by this. The bills are affected by this one team does something unsanctioned now faces unprecedented penalty for it and now we're up to. Four teams that it potentially affects. Do you not remember how many teams in MLB were affected by the Marlins and the cardinals outbreak? There was at some point that were twelve out of thirty teams impacted by the outbreak of two teams. That's just how it goes and NFL knew this was gonNA happen but they were too arrogant to realize it, and maybe the union did not prepares players for I know that the players Union Mlb, the minute the marlins outbreak started one of the first communications to the entire membership was get ready. Because if you think you're playing ex team on X. Day an exit X. Time, you got to be ready to go against any team any day anytime and the NFL players better get on board. With that fact, they're going to be playing different teams at different days at different times in different cities they could end up moving if all of a sudden new. Florida. Becomes a hotspot again or maybe it still is in office well, plus a bad example because no one politically in Florida will ever let the dolphins not playing Miami take another state. Let's Say New York becomes a hotspot. And the giants and jets can't play like in that case, they could just cancel those games because who cares about those teams because their own thirty to? Pick another place it's possible. You could switch from plane a Kansas City. New. England game it was supposed to be New England they it gets played in Kansas City. That's just how twenty twenty is going to be and it's time for people to embrace it. If we went to breaking news every time there's a tweet or something from the NFL schedule Change Your in perpetual breaking news because that's what's coming. Let's get to this Yankees Sabat that I wanted to hit the to get into but very briefly because we're running out of time here, controversy surrounds this decision by Aaron Bone says start the game with an opener and then get to j a happ in a in a spot that he is not used to. He is a starter and he comes in joins a game, and now it seems as though that really turned the series. What did you make of the controversial decision made by Aaron? Boone Well Jay Hap- stinks let's start with that. So having him knowing that he's a, he's one of those players who likes routine and he likes knowing when he's GonNa Pitch and when you're a starter, you get to know at what time you're GonNa Pitch because there's a game time and coming in the second inning as a lefty thinking that he had outsmarted the raise who are a better team anyway listen stands on one of his rose that we saw in Miami you can't let stand. Be You and he didn't beat him even though he hit a home run last night it was a meaningless homerun. You know changing the final score who cares the night before he kept them in the game even though they lost the night before he won the game for them. So he's now the player that you don't WanNa let beat you but the Yankees tried to be the race the reason that teams do openers, and then turn over the bullpen is that they don't really have starters. And the Yankees had a starter for game two. They could have gone Garcia all the way they could've gone all the way but I wouldn't have they could've gone to knock all the way in game two instead of game three last night. But they for some reason, cashman thought that he would do his best raise imitation but that's not why they're going to. Lose the series they're losing the series because the razor a better team than the Yankees, and that's just the fact they were the better team all season they were the better team preseason. They were better team against the Yankees during the season and that's why that's happening. Let's get to your review for the week every week. David Samson, unless we forget about it. Reviews the movie or TV series what's on the docket this week so as watching the debate last night. and. I then was watching the dodgers padres and then I was watching my eyelids. Closed but I was watching them being closed so I decided to go back and watch a movie that I'd seen a long time ago. and..

"Home Depot. Rob let you out with this when you When you look at the beyond the diagnosis, you look what you've seen from Cam Newton so far. Are you surprised how well that has worked in the Patriots organization. He seems like it's it's been sort of better than anybody could have even hoped. So. I mean, look, the Patriots are goingto maximize The abilities of the guys in the locker room and running things offensively that they've never really run before. You're also playing teams. That You know, you look at Miami Week one. No training camp. No, you know, really altered practice schedule for camp. I'm taking go, Bella check. Um, in a short, weird off season versus any other head coach, So I think that they have the upper hand when it comes to Bill and his ability to prepare a team. And then on the foot side, Cam Newton, you know, make sure that he's out there playing his foul offense and not put them in a position where he could go up. Go out there and not play well, so Not surprising at all. And I knew they would Taylor the offense to Cam Newton I early in the season. I said, Well, I just want to see him score when they need to score, and I think when they played Seattle that was kind of the the eye opening, even though you know Seattle's defense. People still think the boom but they're not there. There's nobody there left from when they were a good defence, So you know their defense is pretty porous. So I wanted to see them play against better competition and there are about to, so we'll see what happens. Moving forward. Rob Ninkovich, ESPN NFL Annals. Thank you very much for your time. Guys, I'm gonna make tacos right now for the kiddos. What'd we put in your time goes, I need to know that just completely want kids They don't want any fight is, though I just go a little bit of ground turkey and cheese and make it like a case Ideas. That's how they like it. Sons of sour cream. That's perfect myself. I got to go with the onions, cilantro, some chicken or some steak. That's what I'm doing Corn I love the corn tortilla, not the flower. That was real quick. I rambled but I love my Mexican I'ma, Rob taco guy, you next time I'm around, I hope t get your creation. Thank you very much, All right. They got take area. There you go, Rob Ninkovich. You know it's amazing what he said about about Myron about how you would be ready to play and you're sort of nervousness. It is odd to people I think if you've not followed Cove it on like a day to day basis. The idea that one day your negative the next day you're positive, and I can't see how some of the players would that would make them feel uneasy before again. You and I think that's the sort of wait and see fact. I mean, the Patriots have this meeting, apparently tonight, according our Diane Rossini. Well, I'm sure they're gonna be asking some of those questions. Hey, I'm good today. What about tomorrow? And this is an interesting week. When you consider the president United States has contracted this Cam Newton. All of a sudden, we're starting to. Really Joe has some of the same conversations. We were having way back in March, when we didn't know a whole lot, And then we kind of had this period where we thought we figured it out. It seems like there will be a lot of confusion within that locker rooms. Guys trying to figure out Hey, are you sure I'm good. And not just that locker room, Myron. Imagine being Las Vegas Raiders. Right now. You're trying to prepare for the three and the Buffalo bills who are coming to town. You just played the Patriots in Foxboro. There are all those pictures after the game. Cam and Derek are hugging each other on the field. You hear the stories and the science about how you could get it, not show it or you can have the incubation period. It might not show up for 10 days. The Raiders right now you've got to be thinking what's coming for us. They've already had a few events. I think there was an event this week. It was a charity event and Darren Waller where those guys gotten some trouble because they weren't all wearing masks at this indoor events. So you're the Raiders. This is going through your head as well. It has to be that straight talk brought to you by straight talk, wireless, no contract and no compromise. I've kind of already given up on the MBA final's being competitive, So the thing that is most interesting to me. Who's better now and who should be the M V p A, D or LeBron? I have strong thoughts on this next on ESPN radio. Game day on ESPN radio is built by the Home Depot. Sanjay will.

"One from Lenny. I questioned field. Who is your favorite? Xfo Player in wise it cartel Jones. Because he didn't he didn't go to college play class. How probably Botulic your clothes? He's the best tweeter. He's so good twitter so good and fun to watch and Meena he'll be back in the NFL. Next year. I really found a percent. He's been so. Have you caught much? Xfl I know you know the great about horizon. Everything's you wake up and you're watching the xfl k nine am relative band. It's like here's Diane Rossini. Talk into coal boozer right now. Like Hey Cole. Like how many do throwback I loved the line of questioning my feeling. You know I'll do more ex- found this some point. There's basically three teams that are enjoyable to watch. Dc Houston in Saint. Louis I noticed. I think I saw something like two games so far. I've actually hit the older breaking news. We've got breaking news. I know where you're going with this and I was GonNa say nothing but talk about it right now question to. What do you make of the breaking news that Greg Olsen incredible xfl analysts by the way also like such a good analyst? Daniel Jealous talk about this. I think he's so awesome. Greg Olsen is signing a one year seven million dollar deal five point five guaranteed with the Seattle seahawks. Yeah first of all just like totally with the analyst part like he's going to be good. Yeah he's going to be so good that full-time Greg and I met. We're super bowl super bowl this whatever it was and you know it's like meeting Greg also my wife loves cheese. Greg is moved up for Peptide and power rankings. Very fast This off season a guy that Certainly not only as well spoken but has a face for television as well according to shaping Yates But moving on from that a guy that they're thirty two fits for Greg Goals Right. I mean obviously move Carolina so I guess there's thirty one fits but he fits every team The money is set in sensible seven million dollars. That's about like that's a starting tight end who's good. It's a position where the seahawks were able to get some pretty solid production out of unlikely sources this past year will flee and then Jacob Hollister but this would be you know. This is the most certainly most accomplished tight end. They've had Since you know Ju- Jimmy Grandma at his peak in Seattle and a guy that I think will help them dramatically. They need to as as much excitement as there was some of the young players and that offense last year wants Rashad Penny started run well. Of course Carson was great last year. Decay mccafe sweet tyler. Lockett was he has his moments but was really rock solid again for them. They need to add a few more weapons and this is a sensible one and a guy that they can get ahead of free agency with right. Because he was cut by the panthers he was eligible to sign right. Now don't tell Mrs Yates about the Senate floor crew question number three while my head is spinning I love it was seahawks. News breaks while I'm recording. I guess I'll say what I think I like it too. I obviously they want leading. Come back it's just so heartbreaking. Because he's he's been such this great surprise and to have another season ending injury two years in a row. It was awful and we'll see but I I that component hoster gave them some contributions but the really really tight end is so important to that offense. Also I think so I I I like it I like it that value our winters will really smart. You just took some very long flights field. I think he might know where this is going. Pro Or anti recline. Anti recline for the most part was your caveat like only on overnight flights. Yes yes because so. I did fly back overnight from Hawaii to Boston and I found myself with there was a so I was in one of those like extra legroom seats with the person behind me in the same situation and I've resist I was I did have a slight reclined. Not a full recline but a slight decline once. It got to like the middle of the flight and I was like at the point where I'm in and out of sleep but just alert enough to realize like A. I don't know a couple of Intra Klein would make me slightly more comfortable but totally during the regular flight. Like I'm flying in Indianapolis next week for the combine right. It's midday from Boston. Indianapolis not going to happen. No recline great combine questioned by the way. Like you really want to see if a guy's a good teammate question. For last one from me. This is a serious football question. Do you think can sign Christians last two days and I want to hear your take who became. But I think it's GonNa like they're going to have some difficult decisions to make this off season and like part of that. Meena is that like you're really good right The margin for error decreases right away when it comes to once. You have a quarterback at a massive number and all right no report in our friend. Brian winters always says like. Hey you know like Agri like I raiders. Lert like this is not reporting and I know that because I know an MBA aggregation could be a little bit of Harry thing for reporter. So Clark Hunt. The chiefs. Owner made a comment. That like basically said like you know we'll know the right time for Patrick. Mahomes extent doesn't necessarily have to get done this off season. I think there's like a ninety. It would seem logical. There's like a ninety nine percent chance that it does get done. Mina but it's a is it at least possible that it doesn't get done. I don't know I mean they have been aggressive with some other contracts early in players. Careers Eric Fisher. Trappist Kelsey amongst them but like until that Patrick. Mahomes deal is done. They technically have a bit more flexibility. But they're going to have to make some difficult decisions. The likes of which will include someone like Sammy. Watkins who will not be back at the current cap number of a belief. Twenty one million dollars next offseason so. I think Next season I should say. I think it's possible to keep Chris Jones but it will be at the cost of other players that at what point review is part of. It's tough for them because of the Frank Clark contract it's challenging and their needs in the secondary. I think they're actually in a really good. They're in a really good place on offense aside from obviously mahomes financially. But it's it's tough man if how many teams have a have two guys on the defensive line line with like gigantic contracts. It's pretty rare. I think I kind of think they're gonNa try to do the D. Ford thing again. Tagging Trade Trade And I think there'll be value for him. I also think if they just tag him he might not play. I mean he's to me strikes me as a real holdout contender and skied. Just got that ring right like Yup a little bit different like you've tasted one of the the fleeting things in in football. And now a second round. Pick your money now right. Like I'm a super bowl champion for life and I was a huge part of that run. Now let me go take care of mine right and in the same way. Imagine if it was Patrick Mahomes who decided to hold out you know players would say respected man like you deserve your coin right. So why should we view a defensive? Lineman is dramatically different. I understand the quarterbacks. Most important part of the roster. I'm not naive for that. And the Patrick. Mahomes is the best quarterback in football right but some great. Yeah just thinking controversial. I love that we can just say that Nice Sorry Yeah I don't know it's tough. I think that if a guy wants to get his like I don't think we have to apply same standards right. We can't just say like Oh. Yeah like Chris. Jones isn't selfish. Hold up what are you doing dude like okay. Well if this was somebody else in the roster AK Patrick Mahomes like we have that same feeling so it's interesting thought he's grown. He's second round and they signed. They paid Frank Clark. I'm in its final question as always is from Lenny. Money's a big fan of your twitter account loved tweet about Jameis Winston. The good by thirty thirty. Hello Twenty twenty when he got the Lazic but he noticed it was on February twelve and he wants to know how your wife felt about you. Tweeting jokes stirring your honeymoon and also apparently watching. Xfl Football Yeah. So here's one of the great things My wife is she Is a content. Capture herself right And she like she loves instagram. And she was prolific in taking photos during our honeymoon. And actually that tweet came Middle the day and we had just been on an adventure that she had captured a ton of photos so she was and so she was like looking through some of the shots she had captured and I was like. Oh this is like my chance to open up the twitter. Just see what's happening right so. I had a window to capture or to see what was happening while she was looking through all of her photos. Economy was like I was in a safe space. But in your time and you know she you know. Here's what I would say that like well. Espn doesn't choir us to you. Know to He'd be on twitter or like tweet at a particular frequency like like I would tell you. Your job is not just say. Is that like you and I like. I say I really believe this part like it has been a huge conduit or like. There's been a huge part of people sort of understanding and knowing us. Listen you know like that. So of along those lines like the reality is. It's going to be hard for me to ever fully disconnect even you know like I mean fully entirely like twitter away for just ninety totally. Ignore it unit. I mean the memes never sleep.

"No. And here's the thing. You try to talk your way out of it by you did QE which is potassium saying there. Some potassium is a salt. Okay. But the bottom line is correct me if I'm wrong Jason you said the word, you said k and then the words sodium with it and a is. So does you wrong? You can't talk your way into being right about that. If you said salt, there's a little bit of leeway. You said sodium, which is any my whole point was Paul George in his comments after the game last night where the Oklahoma City thunder got bounced again in the first round was very salty Damian Lillard shot. It wasn't a good shot. It was a bad shot. He just happened to make it he's being salty. So as I pointed out K potassium is a salt. I was thinking of a salt. I. Just happened to say, sodium, it was a slip of the tongue. Did you say an elemental representation that represented something that is a salt? Wow factor. I'm sorry. You did not say a salt or a sodium or any of those things you said is sodium. So your statement, still factually incorrect. Yeah. So. Salt. Sure. Sure. Sure, whatever you have to tell you about it. Let's get into a little bit of lingo Cup. Brought to you by Dell small business one A T off with trae, Mike. Listen to win the wingo Cup. Contest is presented by Dell. Small business tech advice partnership v. Visit ESPN radio dot com for fischel rules. Look this is the last day to enter and this is an EPA trip. I mean, I gotta admit I'm obviously everybody knows that. I'm not a big golf person that being said I wanna go on this trip because it sounds like it's going to be a blast. You don't call because this is too nice of a place to swim club and give it up this play. Can I just run the golf cart past screaming for the entire time? Zo? Anyway, we're gonna leave Jason at home. But we're gonna bring you along with us. And we think we've had a really great trip for. Yes. We do three winners. And each winner gets bring two people, and then you'll be matched up with Mike myself or with trae not what Jason hill probably driving the beer cart. Which is a good thing. For Hans as much better from what you're going to get. I mean this. When we kind of joked around and fell into this last year with the golick and wingo leadership retreat pine her stepped up big time. And now this has gone to the next level with Pinehurst. Dell small businesses jumped on board. So you airfare, you get accommodations. You get meals you get transportation and the accommodations at historic Carolina hotel, which is unbelievable on property there. We're gonna golf cradle shore course, Friday night. Then we have a welcome party Saturday. We get up we all the iconic Pinehurst number two. Then we go to the Pinehurst brewing company Saturday night where they've made a special golick lingo beer. And then if you're able we Sunday morning, we will golf again eighteen holes on the newly designed redesigned, I should say Pinehurst number four, which golf magazine calls the best new course that you can play. So plenty of golf, plenty of fun, plenty of going out, and all you have to do is tweet. Exactly fits will go from driving the drink car on Saturday to the pedialyte cart. On sunday. So that's a great idea appeal card. I am in a roving IV guy put an IV in there before you could figure that out on the fly. So how'd you get involved in this trip? I'm glad you asked. Jason if you wanna get involved, you got to tell us your best or worst golf golf trip. We want to hear your best or worst golf bet. And you've got to tell us that story on Twitter, you can tweet that story. Just write it out. You can treat it with a picture to help build straight. You can send video in a lot of people have gone video route I highly recommend it. We just ask to keep it under thirty seconds. And if you're going, whatever, you're gonna do make it creative make funny, we wanna laugh you wanna hook us in and make a petty as hell it always helps bets in there. Purest form should be petty. Once you've done that. Once you figured it out in tears your last day, so figured out quitting. You wanna tweet it at golick and wingo, which you have to be following tweeted at golick and wingo. And then use the hashtag wingo Cup contests. You get one entry. And you need those two things you have to tag at gold win. Go in the tweet and use the hashtag wingo Cup contest. The only ways your entry will be submitted. And I'm sure there are those things. All man, I'm going to have to video or crazy picture. I can't just do tweet. I won't get picked you could be wrong because there are some just regular tweets out there. Just this latest one by Spencer, which really opens up our eyes to give us a little bit of power in this Specter's tweet to enter the contest did it at golick and wingo. He hashtag wingo Cup contest. My golf bed is with my dad if I win this golf trip. I will get a tattoo picked by golick and wingo. That man is saying that we can all decide what tattoo he has to put on his body. Somewhere that is awesome on. I'm ruthless. I wanna give me that power. I know. That's what makes me go. Hey, sometimes the tweet can pull it off. I don't know Specter's going to be the winner. Again. We don't have anything to do with that. But that's pretty strong. That is a strong staving off the power to decide something going on your body forever. Wow. I got it Spencer to and I wouldn't let you guys to that. I'm just saying I would not let you to do that quicker to make. No, Diane Rossini has tweeted out. Rumors of Joshu Rosen trade she's told the Redskins. Do not have any plans to trade with the cardinals per sources. She's also tweeted out the recipe Redskins draft board is set and it they are in the market for quarterback sources of indicated twain Haskins target, so it's heating up tomorrow. Live in Nashville, Davos weedy, Adam Schefter, Shawn Marion Merriman cake Metcalf and us hanging out. Come.

"My go junior, Trey wingo here with you. It is getting paid season junior in the NBA the league year doesn't really start until tomorrow, but were in the window. I guess where you're allowed to talk to teams before you can actually our players can talk the teams before you can sign the paper the timber legal tampering. So dumb because it's that's if it's legal it's not tampering tampering. It's not legal. Exactly. Why don't why don't? We just go with one. Yeah. It's it's a window where you can talk before you can actually sign it's a window that you can walk up to an acquire large sums of money out of it. Because that's what everyone's doing right now. I saw our own Ryan Clark. Former Pittsburgh Steeler longtime safety the NFL say man, I was just born a little bit too early. Because right now guys are getting dumb paid out here in free agency for a lot of young players too. That we don't normally see get to true free agency in the way that they have like Landon Collins, for example, there's so many things to get to and they're they're more that are coming up. We'll have Diane Rossini joining us at eight thirty this morning to talk a little bit more about this. But it's straight talk about these contracts. Brought to you by straight talk wireless. Best phones, best networks, no contracts. And I guess as you see the numbers, Nick foles eighty million. Landon Collins eighty four million the straightest talk. We can give you is that those numbers don't matter. The only thing that matters in the NFL is what the guaranteed money is. So for example, when you see Landon Collins, by the way, just. Manson a great moment. Yesterday. NFL actually got the call from land while she was on the on the air doing NFL live, which was just terrific. You need to understand the only numbers that matter the guaranteed money. For example. You'll see Linda Colin signing a six year eighty four million dollar deal. Right. It's essentially a fail three or four year deal with forty five million dollars in guaranteed money. That's the actual thing. So don't don't look at this nice, shiny thing. Cut in about an half and all these deals. That's that's really what people are getting. That's what the NFL contracts are about. That's how you end up with situations. Like what actually went on with Antonio Brown in Pittsburgh where you're on the last couple of years of his deal? But none of the money is guaranteed. Meaning they can get out from under you at any time penalty free and a lot of these situation. So that's the way you've got to address all of these situations. Even the big ones like our friend, Nick foles who went in cashed in big time down in Jacksonville. Yeah. I think it's what a five year eighty million dollar contract. But essentially, it's a what a three year deal with fifty fifty million dollars in guaranteed money. So that's the that's the way you have to look at this and the false thing. I. Is interesting. Because essentially what you have here is a Jaguars team. That's still even with all the issues they had defensively last year. I was a top ten defense in the NFL. Right. I think they were top ten might have even been closer to top five that was still statistically, very good defense. So they they they had what they needed and they had what they didn't have which was at quarterback, which was the Blake Bortles hit the trifecta again since he came into the league. He led the league in three categories. You never wanna have your quarterback leading most interceptions most pick sixes and most total turnovers, including fumbles that is just bad. There's no way around that. So the question then the Jacksonville's five there were literally the fifth rank defense, and it's funny people look at them saying, wow, they really had a bad year. They still were top five defense and the offense can generate points. Well, it's amazing. How bad you can make a defense. Look when the offense isn't a consistent contributor to the equation. You know, we've all seen teams with that imbalance and it eventually breaks down even the best because you can only be on the field. For so many snaps in the NFL with the roster size? You can only take so many bad situations that your offense puts you in Jacksonville by signing. Nick foles, this is trying to eliminate some of those. And I think there's that thought process going back to two years ago when they were in the AFC championship game of saying that man, if we'd just eliminate some of those instances where our offense puts our defense in bad field position spots, we have a defense. That's good enough to be a ravens type defense. They can beat you over that point an old school Steelers type defense that can get you over that hump being the strength unit on your team and do all that. So I mean just so people understand the Jacksonville Jaguars offense in terms of scoring points. The official totals the official numbers at the NFL puts for a ranking in offense and defense are yards per game. How many yards you gain per game is the number one offense and how many few yards you give up per game is the number one defense. The Jacksonville Jaguars averaged just over fifteen points a game. In two thousand eighteen in the NFL that's almost impossible in an era where everything is geared towards scoring everything is geared toward making sure we have points, a palooza Madden games. Fifty four fifty one the Monday night game between the chiefs and the Rams which by the way. Those are the two high-scoring teams at thirty five points a game for the chiefs in thirty three essentially for the Rams thirty two point nine. Only the Arizona Cardinals scored fewer points per game than the Jacksonville Jaguars at fourteen point one with a rookie quarterback. Blake Bortles lead offense in Jacksonville, fifteen point three. So the question then becomes just adding Nick foles, forget what else they may. Or may not because they're receiving core is taken some hits since the Allen brothers. A couple of everything that went on with Leonard fournette last year, injury wise, they had not signing Carlos high later in the season. Their old line was a little banged up last year as well. So there were other issues on the offense for sure. Absolutely. But just the addition of Nick foles how much how many the question then becomes can. They score twenty points a game. Is it possible for them to score twenty three points a game? Because of I basically I believe that Nick foles is probably worth maybe one more touchdown game. Right. Let's say seven or eight points how much better can that Jacksonville Jaguars team? Be if you you know, you know, on a good day you can score anywhere from twenty four to twenty eight points. And especially when you look. Around and the rest of that division now because you're now trying to keep pace with an Indianapolis Colts team that showed a ton of signs alive last year a Houston Texans team that actually won your division and Tennessee titans team that I think right now is the most in transition, maybe just you know, behind Jacksonville and all this one. I don't like would you look at them as the favorite in that division still because I wouldn't I don't know. It's it might be the most difficult division in football right now. Because as you said the Texans won that division last year they have their quarterback. They have John Obama's playmakers on defense. I think they're going to be in the Le vian bell sweepstakes going forward. I mean you pair him with the best receiver in football and deandre Hopkins. And you understand somewhat receiver Antonio Brown's investor. See I I listen I'll go to bat I'll be the Andrei Hopkins. Hide. I think he's the best receiver in football. I I give we had discussion yesterday. When you were I understand that argument. But all all I'll say is over the last six years. Antonio Brown has had a hundred and twenty one more catches than the second guy on that list. He's got by. Hundred. So oh, I believe it. But it's a reminder of also the way that the Perak go into the. You're absolutely right. And with Houston there. I mean, if Houston invest in the offensive line this off-season, whether that's maybe in free agency. Whether that's through the draft and gets better than that. You talk about getting better just incrementally at the quarterback spot for Jacksonville. If you can do that on the line. They get so much better because they've got the quarterback Mike concern with falls this. We know what the long term the large sample size has looked like at times right for Nick foles, we've seen these bursts of high performance, but we also saw the beginning of last season. Where those first couple of games where they were waiting for. Carson Wentz wasn't quite sure if he was going to be healthy enough to go. Nick foles didn't go out and light it up early and last season. Now, he came on strong again at the end when he was forced into duty. Because of Carson Wentz is back. But this is still a risk. This is still risk that they're going to have to manage with a guy who has had the highest peaks that we've seen for a guy maybe in his backup to sometimes starter range to some certain lows like what we saw the Rams tenure for him. Absolutely. And again, it's all about comfort and who you're with. And that's why I think this will. Work in the long term because John de Filippo who is the offensive coordinator. There was part of that coaching tree with Doug Peterson. And Andy Reid in Kansas City. He went with Doug Peterson. He was in Philadelphia for a while after a brief stopover in Minnesota. I think that marriage will make this work not to the Super Bowl MVP level. I think we saw when they took down the patriots SuperBowl fifty two, but a highly functional level. Yeah. You didn't pay him to be a Super Bowl MVP, you paid him to come out there and be a fair amount better than Blake Bortles, which we believe he can at least be Blake Bortles. I liked that late forty. I've been football mortal that was actually very good Blake mortal. He was he was very mortal. And that's why he is looking at this point. And that is straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk wireless, nationwide coverage on America's largest and most dependable four G L T networks coming up as I said, the receiver that I think is the best in all of football already been traded could another one be on the move and is the other team in that city where that wide receiver may be on the move suddenly going to be really good this year. We'll get to all of that. Mike after.

"Football, ESPN radio the SPN app and siriusxm channel eighty Jeff. Darlington coming up after one more quarter of football because first quarter is over at Gillette stadium and the patriots fourteen to seven lead over the chargers and the patriots offense looks like it has I it looks better than it hasn't about. I'd say like five weeks by week whatever they worked on whatever Josh mcdaniels side of the focus on whatever Tom Brady did to get himself as healthy as he's been all season is we had a report this morning that Brady's dealing with a an MC L sprain. Which if you're twenty one okay, you play through bounce back hyperbaric chamber, whatever you need forty one. Maybe it lingers a little bit. Twenty degree weather there Gillette stadium. But we'll have Jeff Darlington. Coming up at halftime what he's seen. What's jumped out to him and Diane Rossini at three o'clock eastern from New Orleans getting set for the divisional round in the NFC right now. You can look at the stat sheet for Tom Brady. And you're gonna say I didn't have any touchdowns ten to twelve ninety nine yards. What is ding Nick foles out there? What is it but Sony Michelle nine carries forty three yards in two touchdowns? And what Brady has done is what we're talking about before. We went to commercial is he's on time. He's in rhythm. He's extending plays. He's moving in the pocket. He's checking down. He's moving the chains. All of it is working and his two favorite guys are men in white right now. Yeah. I mean, the possession guy again that's donuts short and they're just getting yards after the catch. They're using the running back not so much in the Russian game. But also just again quick passes. That are basically like runs their high percentage throws very low risk and with the chargers playing back because they're scared of going deeper. They're scared of Tom Brady, really Dyson them up the breakage. The patriots are just gonna keep using that until the charges take it away. And they have not done so yet. No, it's Sony Michelle with the two rushing touchdowns in the first quarter is the first time the pay. Patriots have that in a game. I have done that in a game since the divisional round in two thousand thirteen. So this is a departure. You you could give a little bit of credit like you can feel bad for the chargers defense not preparing for this. Because it has not happened this commitment to the run game this early off for the patriots. But again, that's a way to maybe set the tone dictate the tempo and certainly score from in tight, which they have the patriots have is fourteen to seven over the chargers. Let's see here. The other coaching hires. I could list them for you hawk. If you want like if you want to be have your memory jogged a little bit. We've gone through the one that you like the most pretty kitchens is it fair or no. Just as I just asked you about kitchens. Also like Bruce Arians a lot. Yeah. Yeah. Dan in Tampa. Donna tampa. It felt to me like areas had to sign up for something like areas had to commit to Jameis Winston before committing to that job. I like it only because I'm not saying he's gonna do great. Or there's going to be a match made in heaven. But if I feel like Bruce Arians is the guy to get the best out of Jameis Winston if the best is ever gonna come out of like if he's not able to to crack the Jameis Winston equation. Then I feel good about the buck saying, okay? Yeah. Jayme is completely done with you. And I don't feel like anybody else will do it. And then areas we'll go get another quarterback or they'll move on from him. You know, this game goes knows. But I'm just saying if they want Damon as their guy, I feel like Bruce Arians was the right hire. Listen James is trying to become the first quarterback drafted by the bucks to get a second contract with box franchise history. That's quite as wild. It goes back to like Steve Spurrier. You know what I mean like this? They have not had quarterback continuity there. And then a large large. Culprit was Jon Gruden because Jon Gruden liked to move around at quarterback position. He liked to Jeff Garcia said he likes to date, but not married, and that's sort of been the case. But even since even in this post Gruden time these twelve seasons since Jon Gruden has been gone. I it's been guys like Josh Freeman and Bruce grad Kaos gaming, it's been guys who quite frankly, have not even been drafted by the team or gotten a second contracts. So you like Bruce Arians the one that I like the least. Is cliff Kingsbury? Okay. Talk to me. Well, in some people, I took some flak on the sports side. That's the day job. Sportscenter AM seven to ten AM eastern on ESPN. ESPN two as well. We'd like to move around diversify. But there were legged because hot. You like him because he's handsome a he's not that handsome a look better than him. He looks like a nineteen twenties. Bootlegger mugshot like that's what he looks like with all the product in his hair in all the looking dude he looks like, okay. He looks like the bully. If there's a cartoon there's like a five hundred American tale remake, if there's a there's a cartoon centered around mice. He looks like the bully bad guy mouse, the Mr. steal your girl mouse. That's what he looks like. So if that's handsome to you. That's great. If that's your king. Awesome. That I mean the character came from somewhere, and he's he's like football coach hot like, we got a great graded on a scale. Like, that's what we're that's what we're doing. But but moving right along moving past that you've got a guy who can could swag his way into a living room to a to a, you know, Twitter, DM, whatever college coaches are allowed to do to recruit. And like he could he could cool his ways coach cool. He could cool his way into getting good players. Right. But if you're if you've been in the leave your on your second contract your third contract, if you're hanging on if you're an aging veteran Lagan, Larry FitzGerald, like if you're one of these guys who wants to play for a winner wants to. Set himself up set his family up to make take one last bite at the apple. Yep. What is cliff Kingsbury going to give you like what is he going to do for you? Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, how is he going to quote unquote, recruit that player to either play for Arizona or continue playing for Zona and win football games? Something he couldn't do in the big twelve. Sub five hundred record. Now say this. There's a lot going on with the Aaron cardinals higher. I feel like Steve Wilks was given a bad deal. He took on a team, which is you know, he didn't have to take the job. I get that. I understand. We all have free will take that job. You have to take the job. But it was the worst opening and professional football. Because at the time the forty Niners were hot. They had a good quarterback. They had a good coach the Seahawks. Have Russell Wilson. Happy care at the Super Bowl tandem. They also had shaman bay who was getting hot and Jared Goff playing. Well, so at best you're gonna place last in your division. That's that was off to start. Right. So by that standard would be bad. So then firing him after a year doesn't sit. Well with me that being said, I do like the cliff Kingsbury higher. They're I think they're idiots for getting rid of Steve Wilks. I do like the Kingsbury higher for this reason the quarterbacks he was able to identify Texas Tech the or you know, in his time at am. Whereas his time at Houston the case keenum's and the Baker Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes. And what was the backup in New York? Giants. They never played Wade Davis Webb. Yeah. I feel like he's good at identifying talent which is tougher head coach to speak to your point really quickly about the veterans Sean McVay when he took the LA Rams job. And you and I would talk to Andrew Whitworth, a friend of mine his older guy. He's older John McVay, Sean McVay would be in his phone every couple of days like not positioning himself as it authority. But as a friend like me, and you have to come together to figure this out and agile Whitworth loved it. He bought in. Yeah. Now, you're seeing the results that will be the clip Kingsbury approach. I would advise him. If Larry is even thinking about coming back. I have a question about the relationship there in Arizona between the head coach inbetween. The quarterback. He's a quarterback whisperer. Maybe let him pick the quarterback. But that's another point for another time. I do wanna get your least favorite coaching higher as well. We have a scoring update from Gillette. The patriots added. Another touchdown who scored it how it happened and how it's getting late for Los Angeles. It's operation football ESPN radio. The jets are expected to hire Adam gays. Going nuts right now seventy percent of the fans were against this. They might be skeptical. Now, they will quickly. "So I put my hoodie on under my jersey. Like, okay. I'll just make sure I want a little bit get out to the field. A everybody looked at me. Like I had four eyeballs for wearing a hoodie. Oh, really? I couldn't understand what the the looks before the practice goes on a little further. And I put my hands inside my hoodie pockets under my jersey because it's cold. I'm kinda warm my hands bummer receiver. Yeah. I'm talking as soon as I did it instantly about four to five players come running up to me. Take your pocket. Take your pocket take rocket. I'm like, I couldn't process it enough. Like quick enough to get my hands out before. Ballot. Check yells. Get your dang hands out of your pocket. What are you doing? This is football. What are you gonna do an AFC championship? What do you do when it's called in the playoffs? Yeah. This is what we prepare for they prepare their entire off season for the postseason. It was weird being OTA them felt like it was a week fourteen of the season. But that's why would you get in these games? They're playing at home. It seems like they're more prepared because they are they are more prepared. You're right. And this week there there was so it was mid week. There was snow in Foxborough mass, and they were outside. There was no I mean. Yeah, they have that indoor practice bubble. They're not using it this time of year, they are outside because, you know, prepare for the worst and hope you play in better conditions, and that's exactly it so far which jumped out to me about this game. The patriots have a couple of completions. We'll Tom Brady does to James white Julian Edelman won the Sony. Michelle who hasn't caught a ball and in a few weeks, and they're all within five yards of the line of scrimmage. I mean, all of these are quick strike passes in the flat. The chargers seem like they're doing a good job with coverage of the wide receivers. But that's ten yards down the field. It's opening up intermediate routes and certainly bailouts in screens to James white. And and even like, I said Sony, Michelle. So that's what is sort of setting the table for a cold game in the division around the AFC, obviously, they're playing indoors later today at the Superdome down in New Orleans, and we'll get into that as well. How much closer can the eagles make it it? It'd be hard eagles will be hard pressed to get blown out worse than they did in week eleven when it was it was like forty forty eight to seventy five something crazy. So we'll we'll get into that rematch as well. We also have plenty to get into from yesterday where the Cowboys run is over. And maybe folks who are throwing shoveling dirt on the Rams did so a little prematurely. And yes to placate all of the red-clad chiefs fans that we see on our Bristol campus. Today, there's lots get into for Patrick Mahomes and the chiefs who certainly didn't look like. The moment was too big for them yesterday as they took care of one of the hotter teams in the NFL. I in the colts who to me Hauk slept walk through maybe a half a football. Yeah. And that even includes Andrew Andrew, Adam military, missing kicks in the snow in the postseason with just flat out doesn't happen. Yeah. I don't think they will prepare for the weather. I mean that was very good example of what we just talked about. So we'll have Jeff Darlington coming up at halftime of this. Patch chargers game again, still no score. But the patriots are moving here in the first quarter. And then Diane Rossini about three o'clock eastern from New Orleans because it is divisional Sunday. It's the last day for a long time that we're going to have to NFL football games. That matter glad you're spending part of it with us. Andrew hawkins. Randy Scott with you. This was between north western taking on Utah and Billy bad day for Mike Greenberg sniffing because his wild acid something. I did not think they had in them. And that was come back. Here we go third quarter, Utah lead sweating to three northwestern's able to intercept they get the ball. So off the turnover. Your Clinton course in throws a rival league. Touchdown. So here we come northwestern now down twenty ten thirds tries to get out of the pressure your ball. Jared McGee picks it up a is off a running. No one's even come close to touching. Northwestern. Only doubt won t to seventeen at this point. So next possession. Now Shelly over the middle. David Dixon makes the catch pops right out the ball like miss Schuster did last week against this. Saint's day our pace gets up the ball returns it thirty one yards north west of back on offense. And that is going to prove to be crucial on the turnover. Northwestern on the twenty third. Over to trae clock for the touchdown. Watch us again. He's just hit the big, man. Big fat. Dudes running into the zone doesn't love big fat foods. Northwestern leads twenty four to two hundred less than two minutes. Remaining third northwestern inside the tat Lee takes a hand up runs in for the touchdown western scores. "That's what that's what we want. Our players that's a mindset that we have in our players. That's the only way to win in this league. I think well, it's not the only way to win in this league. It's definitely a way to lose because that's what you did. You put yourself in a situation where you lost a football game and now instead of having an edge over the Texans in the standings because you would have been one two in one? No, you're one in three which puts you in the same exact boat. You lost the game because you were overly aggressive and you didn't pay attention to feel position and situation at the end of the football, and you let pride over a tie getting your way and that is bad news. I appreciate the fact that he was aggressive, but you gotta think big picture. You won't good news. No, yeah. Gloves, some good news, Joe flacco. Think about this coming into this season. It was like, oh, Lamar Jackson's. Gonna give Joe flacco a run for his money, and, oh, it's Lamar Jackson, who is lit a fire under Joe flacco. No, Joe flacco is. Looking like he could be the MVP conversation the way he's throwing balls, his accuracy that offense that the ravens are running. Yeah. They also went on the road last night into Pittsburgh and won the game flacco with three hundred and sixty three yards and two touchdowns I wanna give him all the credit, but the one thing that flacco has been saying all along. It's not him. It's the people around him. I think we're definitely we're better offense. We just we are. I'm playing better for sure, but throwing the ball and all that stuff, you know, offensive football, it takes all Levin guys. It really does. You know, defense, everybody can mess up and one guy can make a play on offense that did that. I rarely happens. Everybody's got play football, and you know, when I'm out there throwing for allow yards today, it's not like today was one of the toughest Pittsburgh Steeler games I've ever played. I've played really, really tough football games against these guys and throw them for probably one fifty, but I think a lot of pride and some of those games because things we really really hard out there. I think our guys the way our guys battle upfront today and the way our guys on the outside got open, you know, I didn't have to be one of those games and I was able to stand back there and throw the ball with confidence and with not too many guys around me. And that definitely helps. I, I wanna I wanna fall on the sword to my own. I was wrong on this one because when we did the twenty four hour fantasy football marathon, I was with Clinton Yates Dominic Foxworth and Diane Rossini. And I said, I'm telling you flacco is going to have the best year. He's ever had an all three of us openly laughed at Diana. And she said, I'm talking to everybody around the Baltimore innovation. I know Jackson will not start and we all laughed and now you look at it. I mean, again, to to the point of never put Jackson it in this situation, you use him as a weapon in like a, you know, unique situation, but no flacco is the clear cut starting guy in Baltimore. This is the fifth year in a row. His completion percentage has been basically the exact same. The difference, his yards per completion. I've gone up half half again as much. So you're talking about weapons around him, right? And you're talking about last year where he averaged one hundred ninety six yards per game this year. So far, he's averaging three hundred thirteen game by far the highest of his career by far the highest of his career. That is a staggering statement. He's completing the same percentage, but you know, to to to what end it it. It's it's, he's completing the same percentage of his passes, but they're more dynamic in. They're going further down. Field. So kudos to him, we're, we're not. We're gonna end with good news, not bad news, throw it out there, the bad news..

But is this the best hall of fame class of all time to break it down and discuss it here on the show. And really it's a big celebration this weekend in can and it's going to begin right here on NFL live, but welcome. Happy Friday. Everybody going to be there. Just enjoying it. Nice. All those guys man suits most of those guys one day, then you will be there go wherever I think superstars here this being Jeff Darlington. Of course, Darren Woodson I'm Diane Rossini. Adam Chetrit joined the show in just a few minutes, but you know, let's night most of us all were pretty much tune in for really only one reason. And we had a way to the second half to see. And that's, of course, ravens rookie quarterback. Mark Jackson taken in the first round. A lot of talk is Joe flacco losing his job, but we finally get to see what will more looks like out on an NFL, fueled against the bears in his debut. Well, he drops back here hint, find an open man, and this is what he does best right guys just scrambling picks up the first down. Well, this is what it did in college, and that's what we based off this, his athleticism getting out of the pocket breakdown. The defense this drought fact Jordan. Lastly, fourteen yard gain here, those those plays right there, and it's all good. And then so far, right. So now here you go scrambling again and here comes this second. Take down here. That's the thing about the NFL. The game was moving law faster inside linebackers can run. And this is the I really liked this throwing I know on the back to land the receiver, but the same time on time, he got to his final step and made the right wrote a quick release, right? He's young in this game, this learning curve that has to take place and you cannot learn the way he he did until you get on the field and actual game speed. And then you start to see, okay, I can get better at this. She'd go back, you look at what you did, and then you find ways to get better. This kid has a by side. There's going to be a future for Lamar Jackson. It's just not. Now let's pump breaks allow him to grow in this game. He'll be very good quarterback. So literally hyped him so hard long. "You can see Diana covering training camps all over this great country, but was most recently in New York for the jets training camp. Diana, we appreciate you taking the time to join us this morning, and I gotta start off with the one guy we expect. It sounds like the Sam darnold kids doing. All right. So far. I asked the excitement around him darnold leading into training camp. It was pretty high considering the fact that it was just a few months ago that the jets owner was saying that that pick was going to change the direction of this organization where to look back in twenty years and say, when they pick Sam darnold. That's when it all changed. Well, it's certainly certainly very early here, but it is starting to look really good in terms of Sam darnold progression with the jets offense. You know, you guys know last Monday, he finally signed his contract. So he missed three practices. This past Saturday, with his fourth practice with the team, they played at Rutgers University under the lights. There's really the first time jet fans got to see darnold out there, and there's a little element of extra pressure of course, when you know when you have fans watching, and that was something that I know coaches were interested to see how we would handle all of that. And he seemed to have zero. Issue with the pressure out there. He his mobility guys, that was something I wasn't even expecting to see in in terms of his accuracy is ability to pass on the run. All these little check marks. We were able to make as we were watching him. He went for nine, eleven, no interceptions. He does Gordon touchdowns, but he's just overall please and comping. He didn't look like a rookie out there and even talking to the coaches after the games and some of the players as well. Most will tell you the same thing, which is I can't believe he's a rookie. That's how much he's impressing the jets team right now. Diana's almost TV last night on sports center. We won't talk about the fact that he outed you as as living with your parents, but I do wanna talk about the man in conversation you guys had. So from the rookie to the old head, a house, Eli, looking. Pod is apparently I don't know how to own my own home or use a phone on. He li- manning this campus. So interesting because he's out point now where you know talking to Steve Levy last night, and it was the second or third topic we were talking about where normally, you know, that's the first they had the gate. We're talking about where does he live stand here? But now all eyes are on Odell contract and saquon Barkley has completely ruled all in terms of camp and the way they're using Barkley at practice when we've seen him come from from the backfield. He was out at receiver on Friday. I mean, you talk about a rookie not looking like a rookie. I mean, he, he looks light years ahead a what you would expect, but in terms of you lie, you mean this is he's got a little chip on his shoulder and he's even spoken about that a little bit. He knows what people are saying about him. He knows that everyone's digging up the numbers and saying that he's lost it. But you know, the one thing the giant showed is is competent by giving him all these weapons. They know he can get it done. And we know. The running game that's going to be crucial. Absolutely crucial for him in terms of helping his own production help in this offense move and that line. I mean, the addition of Nate silver will Hernandez. Eventually the these are good gets for them, and it seems to be grooving and camp right now talking to Diane Rossini are ESPN NFL reporter, Diane, I know you're heading back to Cleveland. You broke the story there about the Browns quarterbacks, special RV clubhouse, but some more news coming out of Cleveland, Korey Coleman on the way out of town..
