"Hired had nine carries and two catches seven. Point eight fantasy points for him in jacksonville. I don't believe. I really don't believe it's going to sustain over the course of the season. I think it'd be more james robison than carlos hyde but at the beginning of the year and a game in which they got blown out this was not the start. We were looking for certainly not. I think what's clear her here. Is that james robinson isn't going to get anywhere close to the whatever. It was ninety. Five percent ninety percent of the runningback touches he got last year. James robinson was like the guy last year. And even in the game with travis not playing carlos side got a lot of work. We've we've talked about hide. I wonder though field is this was a game script thing where it's just like we're getting blown out. And maybe they feel they feel better about hide and pass protection. Maybe they just didn't want waste. James robinson a game that got out of hand bush ride Like they were trying to come back and scratch and claw for right. Trevor lawrence with nineteen fantasy point. Yeah sure and robinson had more snaps than carlos to almost double. Yeah so. I mean. I i agree with you. I think and i think carl listen. They like carlos hyde. It's urban meyer replayed for urban meyer in college. We talked about this Throughout the preseason so carlos hyde. I i don't know the carlos hi it's gonna have standalone fantasy value unless something happens to james robinson but i do think He legitimately will continue to be a drain. Our broncos and giants the broncos have an even split that thirty-three snaps a piece for devante williams and. Melvin gordon but melvin. Gordon has the play that of separate. I think we had them pretty closely ranked in the preseason. I think we'll have them pretty closely right again. Is upcoming draft. germont williams. But i think the the fantasy death of darryl henderson has been widely reported. And he's still going to have like. I thought darrell henson. Look good and a tough match up right. Yeah if he holds up he'll end up holding some value. Maybe a little bit less than what his value was yesterday. He just has to hold up. And i'm sure that's part of the thought process from the rams as lindsay theory told us on fantasy football now yesterday was part of it was not that they don't like darrell henderson. "I talked about it earlier in the week. Poker back to a football friday by the way. I i just think this is a nice early test for the broncos defensive backfield because i think that the giants did a really good job in the off season. They got kenny golladay. Their top free agent target. That was the guy they wanted for a very long time. They got him going along with john. Ross who's very fast they picked up. Kyle rudolph In the in the draft to they got another water. They went wide receiver head. Heavy kurd. area's. Tony i mean they loaded up. They want to be able to give daniel jones those weapons in his third year which makes sense. Unlike the broncos they were they loaded up everything last year with your lock in his first full year. They kinda got daniel jones golan with joe judge new new system and everything and then they started loading it up. This is the year for daniel jones of the pressure cooker. He is certainly. He is certainly in that. He's on the hot seat. I mean they have to decide if he's the guy going for. It's amazing how fast this goes. It was not long ago. That oh he's going to be the guy he's going to save us. He's going to take over where you know alive. He's gonna be our eli manning. Well the weapons might be their offense of like. I said the the offense boosted their getting barclay back. I don't know what it looks like. He is slated to play as far as the injuries go. He's listed as questionable but from everything. We've heard saquon barkley is going to play. And if he can be as explosive as he was before injury then look out but they also have devante booker and booker has had his moments against the broncos. Of course being a former bronco. You know he. They picked him up and they really like him in case barclay needs. You know you're not gonna give him a huge workload right off the bat. But there's pressure. Listen there's pressure with the giants. They at least have the okay. Joe judge our first year. We won six games and we actually were right there in the thick of it in the division. So if you're giants fan. You're feeling better about yourselves. And you're thinking we can go right here right off the bat and put together a win against the broncos they are looking at this game just like we're looking at it. They think this is a game that they can win. They got denver at home than there at washington home against atlanta those or their first three games winnable washington's defenses improved Atlanta you know. They're they should be good that sometimes. They're always surprising when they're not but this. I think this looks like an easier win for denver. I really do. I think teddy bridgewater is going to be a lot like teddy bridgewater. I don't think he's going to play outside of himself. They're going to run the ball. Really well with melvin gordon and Obviously johnny williams. I'm excited to see him. I think that that addition might take hold quickly even pat shurmur. Who was there with barclay it with the giants even said man. I could see devante williams avenue barclay type year his first year his it like barclays rookie year. So the run game will carry them. Offensively should open up a lot of things. I don't really look for a portland. Sutton or jerry judy. To go off for one hundred plus. I think it'll be spread out. Because you're really relying on melvin gordon. The d. line for the giants is certainly questionable. And i like the broncos offense flying a lot. So i think they're gonna move guys around and you know you're gonna hit you know. Maybe judy gets three or four catches for forty five. Forty five yards and a touchdown. Maybe portland sutton's at like six catches for sixty yards cage with like two or three. I could see that kind of spread out offense. I don't know that anybody just dominates especially because teddy's connection is more. Judy coralline sutton was more. I believe it seemed like he had more of a encamp anyway the way he talked and what we heard Was more of a connection with drew. Lock obviously didn't seem last year withdrew but they were good in those five games that he played his rookie season but on the offensive side. I just i think they're going to run the ball. They're going to run right. The hell at the giants with you know kind of a weaker offensive line. They lost or a defensive line. Excuse me the lost alvin tomlinson. Free agency They have some veterans. Danny shelton can't believe he's still playing austin johnson. Bj hill see. But i think the broncos have the edge there when it comes to the trenches on the defensive side again. I think the broncos should have the edge bradley chubb is now listed as questionable officially. Couldn't tell you. I mean i'd love to see if they if you could get von and chubb in the mix both healthy but this is where we are at this stage. I still like what this defense is capable of. Though i mean released on paper what we think they're capable of because they have the corner look at those corners ronald darby bryce callahan. Kyle fuller pat ser tan. And we don't even talk you talk about some of these other guys. I mean terrible news about michael. Oj moody being on the. I are just awful but you were in camp. You were like wow. They're stacked and we're not even talking about oj moody so they went deep into the into the db's and rightfully so they needed to that was a big weakness for them last year and They filled that void. I i look. I pat 'certain right off the bat to be in a lot. He's listed starter. They're gonna play. A lot of nickel-and-dime look for alexander johnson or justin stern. Ed josie joel to be out there by themselves alone linebacker. Because i think this team will be looking to. Hopefully they can just stop teams with great tackling corners. Which is what vic fangio likes e side. Chris broncos twenty four giants seven. You gotta blow out happening. Fangio handles crowd noise better than foxy. It's not a must win. People are saying must win for the broncos. I'm not going there. I said must win last week. Game one for issue different reasons. It's certainly a big game. You really need to win. Blue plate special special like getting up early in the morning but those early bird specials are like when your senior citizen. That's the phrase anyways. Anyway we were talking. We were talking about. That's pretty much it okay. Coaching girls soccer. What again. I am my daughter. I practice tomorrow. Just you know my my. My daughter's under ten girls soccer team returning for the fall season. We want undefeated last year. The yellow jackets. I'm just going to say undefeated and We were talking about half. Are starters starter so like text turnover coach. John him and i were texting this morning. What we're working on here. John's great all right. Let's listen Do you want the williams very quickly i'm going to say is what i was gonna say when you're trying to do fantasy football analysis you assume or you hope that there's going to be rational. Coaching and we think melvin. Gordon is still good still has a lot left in the tank. Maybe not a lot left in the tank for this year. I don't believe that barring injury that he's just going to all of a sudden step aside for devante williams could williams become the one eight. Two gordon's one. Be later in the season but certainly for this week. We all agree. Gordon over williams but we think it's a committee in a match up that i don't think is as good as people might initially think. Oh the giants are bad. They're good defense. Good at defensive back into front as well. Let's get to the raiders football going up against the baltimore ravens as we've talked about plenty to raiders running backs. I think it's clearly josh jacobs as the one we all agree on that but matthew he actually makes sure hitless this week. He does like first off ravens. Yes they lost. Marcus peters in the secondary but that's a really good defense various. It's a really good defense and the other problem. Is that still really good offense. I get it. They have issues at the running back room at the moment but my expectations is that the ravens win. This right and the problem is. Is that josh. Jacobs is fairly touched on dependent. He's not involved in the passing game so if they get down in this game. They're not going to be coming back with josh jacobs. They still have a kenyan drake. Is there Gentleman general start. Banged up is trying to get a third right. Third pasturing back But but my point is that with jalen restarts. Still on the roster expectation is that i think jacobs is going to be used significantly in the passing game here and win. Josh jacobs got an under twenty touches. That's a big number four his career when he's got under twenty touches averages ten point five fantasy points per game. I'm at running back. Twenty five here. He needs a touchdown to pay off for you. What are the like. There's always a chance that fall into the end zone here but my expectation is that he struggles fantasy wise monday night. Okay there you have it. I've got little. I have more optimism. I've got rby eighteen in my week. One ranks last one here. Matthew is the rams against the bears. You and i both have gerald henderson. Almost ten spots ahead of sony. Michelle this week. I think he's been by the way anderson. Makes the other receiving votes on the loveliest here. The big question is just gonna see two things for me. Is one how much of a workload henderson gets into saudi. Michelle may be more involved in the passing game that he has been in previous years in new england. Is the two things. I'm watching for which is completely fair. And that would certainly change my perspective. On daryl henderson. My thought on henderson is that i think similar what we saw actually last night in the thursday night game that i think sean mcvay is gonna approach this game similar. How mike mccarthy did which is like. I don't think i'm gonna be able to run up the middle. I don't think i'm gonna. We'll run between the tackles against the bears here so you know what i think. I'm going to have successes on the edge and my expectation is that if the rams want to attack the edge that darryl henderson is better suited for that than sony michelle. He's at least from what we've seen so far the better pass catcher. He's more familiar in the system. Obviously as well. He's more likely to me than tony. Michelle also break up a big play here so i think because of people like oh chicago. I'm staying away. I think again. Similar to how like tony pollard. Dot us last night in a little. I think henderson's more involved. I think they're passing a lot in this game. And i think hunters involved henderson's evolved in the passing game. "Broncos country tonight. Ryan Atwood, Benjamin Albright, Let's head out to the hotline and bring on Russell Brown Rust NFL draft on Twitter. He's with cover one, and he's going to help us preview the Broncos season especially what you expect from the rookies as well as what are some early observations from college football. Russell Thank you for joining us. How worried tonight? I am doing awesome. I appreciate you guys always letting me come on and talk a little football and maybe talk a little nonsense. Um, when whenever we get the chance, so I appreciate it. Well, I'm here for the nonsense so definitely well, let's let's start with the Broncos rookie class. I think everybody is kind of excited to see what some of these guys can do. They definitely shown some nice flashes. During training camp in the pre season will start at the top with patch or tan. What did you think about Pastor Tim coming out of Alabama? And what can Broncos fans expect this year from that rookie cornerback? Well, there's certainly being a crowded cornerback room as we all kind of extract them, and it's very deep secondary in Denver. Ultimately, I think when he does get an opportunity to play, and I think again, he will. He will play quite frequently being that he is the first round pick. I think you're going to see a lot of good things. I mean, he's a natural athlete. He's got great athleticism. With good length in that length is what really separates and I think from a lot of the other corners is, uh, last year's class. I had him as my top right corner and I just love the skill set. He comes from that NFL background that had agreed with his dad playing in the league for so long, So I think the Apple will not fall too far from the tree with caiman. He's going to be really can't again. I love the length. I like that He can play in zone. He can play a man and you trust that lengthen and when he does get beat, I mean, there are times that he's not the past this guy when he's when he's lined up across that, let's say it could Darius Tony or something like that. They blow by it, but he recovers incredibly well, and he closes that gap. So I think he's going to be a long time player for the prompt to be very successful, and ultimately this rookie season. There might be some office. There might be some downs. But again, I think the long term is going to be really good for him in Denver. You know Vic Fangio's talk the last couple of years about wanting to go to almost, you know, four that dime is base four corner set up as base, and this year he's going to get to get the opportunity to do that. Pastor Tans is a bigger corner, and it gives him kind of the opportunity to be a bit more versatile. Line him up against tight ends like their Waller. Travis Kelsey, how big a thing do you think that's going to be And do you think that defense will hold up against, you know, rushing attacks? That they're going to have to face throughout the year. They certainly can. I mean, the skill set is there up front, and I love the idea of it. I mean, I think when you can run those those multiple defensive packages in your secondary from a nickel and a dime base, uh, more frequently than most teams, I think it gives you again a lot of versatility as you kind of mentioned there, as you can do a lot of different things of lining up with slot receivers tight ends running back out of the backfield. When you have Bradley job and bomb Miller, you're able to do that. If they can stay healthy, you're able to do a lot of different things. So I think it makes a lot of sense before big wants to do And I really like the idea of it, and it works with the help. I think you're gonna see a lot of success. So I'm all for for the Broncos on doing there's been a lot of conversation about what the Broncos are going to look like what? Their running backs and we've seen Melvin Gordon, these running back one out here He's getting paid. The most money makes a lot of sense. Plus gives you an opportunity to bring around. Bring along your second rounder Javonte Williams. But John T. Williams talent is kind of unmistakable. It's pretty amazing to watch and I I liked watching that U. N c last year. Certainly an electric player. He might even be better in person. What do you think about Javonte? I'll be honest. I'm quite jealous that you guys get to interview him, probably a little bit more frequently than I get a chance to and he was one of my favorite players. Last year. I thought he was a part five. Back from the moment I laid my eyes on him. He just kind of has that it factor not maybe the same type of it factor that a child it's might bring to an offence. But again, I think it's just a different type of dynamic with him running the football because you can catch passes out of the box field, But he's incredibly elusive for a player of his size, and when he can, he gets into the open field. It's just it's different. I mean, he does. He doesn't look like he would move that well for a player of his size, but he's physical. Is again a lot more quicker than you. Can you give them credit for and I love it that skill set that he provides for Denver. Now that Philip wins, he has gone. Rice remains gone. You bring in this kid and Melvin Gordon goes down. You have a solid option behind him. But also again, you have a nice 12 punch as we're seeing teams across the league really trying to establish that, I think A little bit more frequently, even though you know you take Green Bay. For example, even though they've got Erin Jones. They've had plenty of running back from the last couple of years. You look at Detroit. They have the android Swift. But they added, you know Jamal Williams this past off season, so I think it's very common across the league for teams to do that, and I love that. Denver is doing it with some uncertainty at the quarterback position. Whether it's You know Teddy Bridgewater one week and drew up the next whatever it might be, I think the most frequent the most consistent thing that is going to be able to run the football whether it's Melbourne border Devante Williams, So I loved Evan Williams for from Denver and what he provides You know, there's a question about running the footballs question about throwing the football. You've got some talented receivers in Denver. In addition to the tight ends, you get the Courtland Sutton, Jerry, Judy, Tim, Patrick and KJ Hamler just a breakout year for for the speedster KJ Hammer. It feels like right. I mean, I feel like that's what we've all been waiting on. Is this guy just to come out and kind of break out with 70 80 receptions close to 1000 yards receiving, but also, maybe have 50 60, Russia's as well because you can use them in a variety of ways that it feels like all purpose yards. This guy could be one of the top in the league. It hasn't necessarily happened yet, but you know when you get the ball in his hands, he's a difference Maker. And when you mention all these names from Patrick Sutton, Judy One of those guys is probably going to get double teamed. Maybe not all the time. But a J Hammer is going to have a lot of one on one situations. He's going to have a lot of success. I think in the short and intermediate areas of the field, so can he break out? Absolutely. But if the quarterback plays is inconsistent, which I think at times it will that will limit him a little bit again. If they are run first offense. It's tough to say exactly what they're going to be. And if you're broncos fan you're rooting for him to prove that he could be the guy for the next couple of years. The other one that has me is the running. Back situation zach. Melvin gordon admitted that the philip linzie thing last year khanna bugged. You know you got philip lindsey. Who was a fan favorite. And it certainly. Fans were wanting philip lindsey to take that role and be the number one. There was debates about. It will now going forward devante waves. He's got a homegrown kid but he's a rookie and he showed us a lot in the preseason. Is this the same old story. Just a different cast. You hope not you hope that these two can coexist together and not really because last year. It really was the philip lindy show for one game when he went out and dominated In new england and then at the second half of the season it was melvin gordon. It was his show. We never really got to see a good. Melvin gordon philip lindsey combo together and that's something that we really hope to see here we hope it's not just one guy one week one guy the next week because that's probably not going to play out very well over a seventeen game season brady. It's going to be more like last year. Where one guy has one good week and the other guy has six good weeks. You hope that these guys can play off each other but an interesting thing yesterday vic fangio set that. Get that Devante williams has earned the coaches trust so much that they're willing to put him in at any point of the game at any time in any situation just really shows you how much trust they truly have and so two follow ups there on that side of it first off his melva going to be really reluctant to wanna come out then because devante comes in and who knows i mean he makes a couple of crazy plays and maybe we get the nod to him and he starts getting the majority of the carries. Yeah and on. Top of melvin is on a contract year right now so where whereas last year splitting the carries wasn't as big of a deal in terms of contract. This is. this is a big deal to him. Now you can feel like you're taking money out of his pocket and he knows the situation that he's put in right now he knows that he's the starter for now and that. This young guy is clearly the future. And that's the thing is can gordon's kind of an. I guess kind of a similar position as teddy didn't necessarily have to fight for his position but if he can be really solid and breakout who knows thirteen hundred yard year and and really be great one two punch which to williams then maybe you could look at denver saying hey we're gonna we're gonna bring him back for another year or two so i mean certainly interesting to see what happens on the running back side of things. zach talk to us about that right tackle position. What's it look like. They're bobby massie has a fish. -cially one that job Now he didn't vic fangio. And i believe it when he said this. When he's talked about the quarterback position he says we have two guys that we believe we can play with andrew and petty and win games with now. He said that same thing about the right. Tackle position with body mass. The and calvin anderson. And i really believe him when he said that. About colvin anderson they gave calvin They were so impressed. They let this competition go all the way up until now now bob had kind of had it locked up for about the past ten days but they just were so impressed with calvin anderson and that's something cows is able to continue to develop this year. Then maybe we're not talking about resigning. Bobby massey or going in the early in the draft to get a right tackle. The broncos may have the right tackle future on their roster right now. It's a big one has a lot to it. As far as vic fangio and the pressure let slide over to the defense i. I've let's look at the injuries. What's the status on bradley. I'm not going to go that far. trump missed. All of last week of practice was back on the practice field and what seemed to be a very limited role yesterday and after practice when asked if noah fan and bradley will be ready to go for the game vick said he thinks so so me. I have guarded optimism about these guys being able to play. I do think they will end up playing. But brady i think you nailed it on the head. I don't think they're going to be full. Go and i think they're snaps are going to be limited and to me. You need both of those guys out there. You want to see both those guys out there but brady if they're not ready to go then don't have a play and you just hope that the jonathan coopers and alberto's are ready to go and step up for these guys for this game but the worst thing that could happen is you try to force these guys back on the field for week one because you feel the pressure of how important these first three games are and then one of them tweaks it again and then they're out a month or two. You can't have that no question about it. You got to well. I guess fans do kind of worry about maybe vic fangio not saying he would put anybody knowingly in harm's way but maybe there is a little pressure for the now the wind now as opposed to okay. What's the long term plan because vic knows. Hey if i'm in three somehow some way to start these things how boy that seat is on fire. He can't even sit down on the hot seat. Brady doesn't doesn't. This really reminds us of the quarterback conversation that we had been fangio was all about the now whereas fans and maybe people within the organization thought it should be about the future. We'll yeah and i was reading something that just kinda doing some early game previews and everything on the giants side of it. I'm not trying to send the giants are a team. You should compare or anything but they they're saying. Hey our big philosophies yes we wanna get better this year. That's the goal. No question about it but we can't sacrifice this year for next year to there's a lot of pressure to get it done but we have to be careful with guys like barkley. We can't force them out if he's not feeling up to snuff. So i mean you look at that and i just feel i guess i just feel like the broncos that message is kind of lost it used to be elway. Hey we're competing for championship every year. Then it became a well. We're just trying to get this thing right. It's not a rebuild but it is revealed but might be rebuilt. Now it's like george payton's building for the future vic fangio's plan for the now. Yep exactly and george peyton says what what his goal is for. This season is to be relevant in november and december. Well that's pretty much. That's very wide open and vic fangio is all about this next week. Just getting the win and you're so right i. It's a very awkward year. Just to be honest when you have a new. Gm on a six year contract. He knows he's going to be here for a long time. The roster's changed so much that you just got a little momentum and a little confidence it could flip first of all they play the. Nfc's this year which is great for them but their first three weeks at the giants dana jones at the jaguars who you know went from. Oh maybe they could steal the afc south to wow. That team sucks. They can't block and then their home for the jets week. Three and then week four ravens if the ravens you know are are potentially not nearly as good as we thought but i think they could go three no coming out of the gate and sharp by all your research and all your instincts with this stuff. How important. I sound like a sideline reporter. How important is a good early. Start but i really do feel like it is important. If we're trying to figure out these these sleepers if they start three you know. Would that change your thinking here. Well yeah it would it. Would i already like them. And so i've already bet their win. Total over who tom. I think this is a team. I did not bet them to make the playoffs. Whoever because the afc is loaded. And i think there's a chance nine ten wins. They don't make the playoffs but so that way. That's plus one fifty five. If i told you start three you know. Would you bet them to make the playoffs While they're favored in going to be favored in these games. So i don't necessarily think that changes my mindset at that point in time that they'll make the playoffs i we need them to win at least two these games. Three of them is what i'm hoping for. But that's not gonna make me think that they automatically you're gonna make it to the playoffs. Here's two things that you Two points to tag onto what you said. You don't necessarily love their running backs you know what's really weird about what they did. This preseason the last two games they did not play giovanni williams at all the draft. Pick the running back. They got pick number thirty five overall. They apparently absolutely love devante williams. And might be carving out a pretty nice role for him. Him exceeding his rushing yards is a nice profit that i think hold some water. The other thing the other thing that has been jim j. house down the other thing that's interesting is i mentioned you know how teddy is now going to face the number one easiest schedule of pass defenses. You know last year this team and you just mentioned it. Bill which is why i brought it to my mind. They played the number one. Most difficult schedule pass offense as last year this year vic fangio defense plays the number twenty five most difficult schedule of pass offensive mentioned the nfc east. They also get the afc north if we think ben is not what he is ben. You've also got baker. We don't know yet about joe borough and lamar there and then the non division games that they've got they've got the jets. The jags in the lions. We're talking about a ton of teams that drafted inside the top ten. This broncos team is going to be going up against the season. A lot of these teams have new quarterbacks this year some inexperienced quarterbacks this year when you talk about the jets jags and the lions with jared goff there now i just think there there will be opportunities for this defense to really make teddy not have to do too much and teddy you. You mentioned hamlet down the field. I don't know how much of that we're going to see. I think teddy is like more of a ball control efficient quarterback. Hopefully you don't turn the ball over too much. Don't get your offense off schedule. We don't necessarily need these huge big plays. We just need you to get hammers for that. He's good for the shorts. Yes i agree. I agree what happens in week. Eighteen for denver. To if we're again that's exactly the this is the other reason. Why like them is. There is a better than zero. A non zero chance that they will be playing the kansas city chiefs week. Eighteen where kennedy has zero to earn without win. Kansas city is not playing all of their starters. The last game of the season. They're going to go into the postseason. They might want to rest there guys for a couple of weeks if they've already earned that by so you're talking about a couple of team you're talking about that game where you might just be able to walk get a cakewalk. As long as you don't fuck it up a little bit and then look at weeks fourteen. Fifteen and i'm i don't know even sixteen potentially you've got the lions the bengals and For a and the raiders. Those three teams might be vying for the number one overall. Pick or draft position. By the time we're talking about week fourteen in week fifteen etc so I definitely think that there's upside in playing those teams so late in the season where they're focused might be elsewhere. "Smith had one in tennessee. You had the chance to go out and get one in the draft. He didn't do it. I just think. Mike davis is kind of a guy filling a role right now and he doesn't have the same type of upside that other running backs in the script dip i. I don't know what is upside is. Iv interested to see what he looks like in games at the start of this year. Because i do think it's different when you prepare for a season to be the starter as opposed to a new. Prepare to be a backup. I mean surely we'd like for all guys to repair. Just be the starter. But i don't think it's the same thing i don't remember any pictures of his squad's last summer and they look spectacular. Now i will just again. He had a six game stretch. It was three games that were awesome but he had a six game. Stretch was on pace for fourteen hundred yards and ten touchdowns and i do think the situation in atlanta is better. I think the falcons line will likely be better than the panthers was last last year. I think the falcons will score more points than the panthers did last year so i think he's a little bit underrated where he's being drafted. I would rather draft. Mike davis mile sanders. The thing the thing davis is and i think both guys said he feels like a floor. Play as opposed to a ceiling. Plight like there. I don't think there's ten or top. Fifteen upside mike davis unless you just cobbles his way to total points by the end of the year and the the one thing that you know. I think when you look at the situation by comparison that system last year the the team is he is right. The falcons teams should probably put up more points than panthers team but the system in carolina certainly was set up to favor. The running back more so than this system is in. That's you know. Not taking it. Away from arthur smith in what he did but the involvement in the passing game the The ability to get their running backs out in space whether carrying the ball or throwing to them. I think matters quite a bit. And i think with my davis. He's he seems to be more like the type of guy you're talking about with miles gaskin where you're valuing the opportunity more so than the player. I think they're in the same boat. Okay let's say it's not rodgers. 'cause i have a hunch that if they trade for aaron rodgers he would start probably. Yeah drew lock teddy bridgewater. You're placing your bets on this. This is i wanted to call it a heavyweight fight but this is like nope. This is like a youtuber fight. This is to de- level youtubers fighting it out to be a starting quarterback. I'm a much bigger fan of the teddy bridgewater. Then i am the drew lock. So i think bridgewater will start more games than drew lock. I think they might both see the field. Yeah i'm gonna say as of right now. I think teddy bridgewater starts all season The organization probably wants drew. Lock to be the guy they want their pick to have worked out and they trade for teddy bridgewater. Yes but they want him to get that opportunity. They want him to level up the they want him to win the job but i don't think he will i don't think he can. There's a lot a long way to go up from thirtieth in total number of first downs. Thirty first in completion percentage This offense was twenty eight points per game. This was a failed offense last year. A failing offense less so they needed to make big changes they went out. They drafted devante williams in the second round. They signed teddy bridgewater. And they're hoping that that makes with the defense that can improve because it wasn't that great last year but that's what vic fangio's known for that you'll see some strides made and that they'll be able to gut out some winds. I mean they've they've had seasons like that before in denver where bridgewater doesn't turn it over. Maybe that's the plan. Keep them in games. Run the rock. I mean i was on the show today. I need to maybe take a look at these guys started out and you can't really pay attention to his. Adp right now because devante williams will not go like the drumbeat is going new draft. If you're doing be drafting devante williams where he is is adp s and he has rising. Here's definitely rising led the nc double a. In broken tackles nineteen touchdowns last year. He is very good this. This isn't a player who he's if he gets his opportunity. You're like oh okay. There's gonna be some volume there. I'll get some fantasy points. No devante williams is a three down running back on a team. That saw melvin. Gordon who was okay but running back thirteen last year You put you take those opportunities for melvin last year give them to a fresh a fresh player who still has his legs with. It is is a great player on top of that i am. That's what teddy back there. He made my. He gave my davis who shot. This team is a scientific project about quarterbacks because they are as deep almost impossible both sides of the ball. This is a well constructed. Nfl roster but no quarterback and they bet against quarterback when they did not select just a feeling of the draft. And so you got it. We're gonna find out now real quick clarity on on the comments. Because i don't want these taken out of context. He was talking about. James conner and melvin gordon. He said both. Gordon and connor are reserve running backs And then he did say that. Gordon seems leaner upper body. Improves still dangerous and space. The team wants williams to be the guy. So they're go. We'll see when the milk expires. Where will to end up in. Eighty p a at this point. I don't know but if somehow he only makes it to the fourth he is. Oh my gosh. He's every going where gordon.

"But i i just don't know that there's more than two two and a half meaningful starters for fantasy purposes that running back yet devante williams. Because that's the way i mean. People seem pretty on board with harris in n. But that's the one that i think causes a lot of split so gionta williams being drafted early in the second round by the denver broncos. And what do you think i mean. It would've liked it better if he went to miami but I don't think as tara. Excuse me a terrible spot Melvin gordon was you know serviceable and twenty twenty and he'll probably serviceable again. But john williams played in a committee with In college with michael carter. So he's not going to be a stranger to that. And i think it's going to be pretty pretty clear out of the gate that that at this point is career. I don't think melvin. Gordon does necessarily anything better than devante williams will be probably pass blogging. He's got more experience in that right in. The is a bit of an underrated receiver. But johnny williams can do those things too so at the beginning. I'm sure it'll be a committee. But you know if. Melvin gordon slips up at all if if he has any kind of nagging injury you could definitely see devante williams taking over there. I do think he's a bit of a you know about half a tier to full tier below harris. But i still think he's a fine pick especially in the middle of one quarterback rookie dress looking at iraq. And he's and he's right. He's the last one that we really about you. We can talk about. Michael carter and dre sermon and the other guys but those three are really the only ones who are going to care about for fantasy. At least this season. I think okay. He's a guy that has some burners and pays attention way too much to social media. On will reply to those and internalize that can't take criticism. So coaches said he was he was slow to take the coaching and wouldn't take the coaching. You can't tell him anything. He's one of the guys that knows everything. You can't tell him anything. You know what I mean. S O. There were some concerns about that. In terms of the you know, the overall psychological makeup. There were some He's kind of got. This is kind of weird me against the world mentality, and it rubbed people in the locker room the wrong way. Because they're like, Dude, you're up your former number one recruit. You turned down Alabama house that you against the world, you know, and the guys who it actually is them against the world. You know, I had to scrap, you know, from walk on status to get on. And you know, in that kind of stuff being in those locker rooms and having a guy who just transferred schools because he couldn't win the job against Jake from coming into, you know, coming in Ohio State and getting the job there. Um, you know, he just he came across arrogant. Entitled. There are some some things like that these teammates, you know, public, they're gonna say the right things. The coaches teammates, you know, there was that one thing in public but in private You got a good enough relationship? They will. And they just say, you know, hey, came across just that kind of way. Now. That's not to say he won't be a star in the NFL. But in terms of the culture in terms of locker room there were times where, you know, he was just kind of came across corny. You know, it came across like you against the world. Did your a number one recruit that did with the went to Georgia over Alabama, then transferred the Ohio State you against the world? You've had every opportunity in the world so I'll just say it That way. I'll put it out that way and say that I think there are some personality quirks and issues that rubs coaches on some people and decision makers the wrong way. And they were concerned about that. I think in this draft class and really the only running back in this class that has both really impressive why ranging downfield speed and can be a three down, running back, and that's really important. Why I think teams value him so highly You can get speed back and a third down back like Michael Carter from North Carolina in round, maybe as early as two but likely round three and four. There's a couple those guys in this draft, but there's not many guys work. Explosives are outstanding Pass catchers Travis CPN Probably about the cup was past catcher in the 2020 F L draft class and he could be a three down, running back and I think that's how tells that he is. I would not be surprised at all if he is The fifth off a playmaking offensive weapon taken off the board after Kyle pits to mark Chase Jim and waddling Devante Smith, and that's how you gotta think of travesty together that he's going to be the fifth Explosive player out the board and his feeling ranges from maybe it ties the 16th overall pick and I don't think it gets out of the first round, for sure. Okay, So the difference is I was going to ask, I guess Harris and maybe Joe Vontae Williams. I know you mentioned the other kid it in and North Carolina. What? One of the main differences. Then let's say between Harrison et en specifically Harris. Do you not see the same receiving ability there that you might see from ET en Certainly not the same nausea. Harris could do it. He's shown it in limited and we've seen Ah lot of the album of running backs last decade thinking, Hey, they can't do on third down and they figured out the NFL are able to do it. D J L That's not a good job. On that rolls well draw his NFL career, but the difference is the Tien Is NFL ready and really impressive as a route runner. Clinton was moving him in motion moving him in the slot. He can run around in that area. I think he's the only running back. In this draft class with over 100 targets Minutes college career, which is really, really impressive, so they're not the same. And that says I think GM as a pass catcher and really out in the perimeter is just more explosive than technology. Harris. No, not be. Harris is for more traditional. He can work between the tackles and a really high level. I think you'd better inside don't run of Nietzschean, so there are differences. I mean nausea. Harris is more Better player on 1st and 2nd down, But as we've seen in the NFL now, including the Bills offense It's not as much of the first most only a first down, running back because really on second now you're thinking about passing as well and that's why you get so valuable. So all right, Let's say let's say the bills. Do you want to add our running back? You know, the GM talked about Brandon being had mentioned last week. You know, he likes the guys. They have You like Singletary likes Moss. But they don't have quote a home run hitter. So is eating and the only guy who fits that description. If not, what about Harris or Williams? And I mean, he turns off the board now, Eric, What about the other two guys? Whether a 30 or Trade back trade up a few slots could either one of them fit that home run hitter and would either guys still be a good pickup for the bills? I think yes, I think it depends on how much they want to feel that meat because based off what I believe I think oflove on office has kind of said that publicly that et and really fits that mold as that big play running back, and I think he's going to add a lot as a third down guy the way he's acting Austin about Devon Singletary can't do so. I think overall running back is indeed we want someone to be a bell cow and the exact Boston tomb or both. Red Zone in short yardage guy in 17. Terror is a change of pace that I think Magic Harris or around to running back legs about Ted Williams and pray, serve and by the way, Trey sermon is on the same level of Devante Williams for a lot of teams. I talked to their kind of three and four bunched together, but I think if they want to feel the need One of those three guys work to the 1st and 2nd down workhorse, and they've got to figure out the rest later. But if you want to dynamic offense of weapons add one more piece of its bills often each year. That guy that they want him almost for sure they're gonna happen. Move up, maybe a tie as the top 2023 picks together. So where do you think he could go? Then? Because again in this discussion of The speculation about the bills moving up. It was well there. If they did move up, they'd want to get ahead of 23 24. 25. Jets Pittsburgh Jaguars Where if he's gone before, then where does he tea and go? Yeah, he very well could. I think I think kind of the 25 area Much of the Jaguars. That's where they want him. But I think by the early twenties, it's going to be a jets like team that taken for knee or someone moves up to get and I don't like to get out of the top 2023 picks again. The feeling I believe is the Arizona Cardinals. They want to add one more offensive weapon. They don't you, James Counter or Chase Edmunds as the guy next year, so if they don't get a top receiver like maybe devices, Smith falls to them. I think they're his feeling ET and the Dolphins that 18 need a running back. They like beauty and a lot. The Washington football team. They like Antonio Gibson, but they're not a post, adding one more offensive playmaker and again I stress each yen is the fifth best offensive playmaker in this draft, so if you don't get Hit with the top three receivers, and you want to add a dynamic weapons, your offense, each against that next guy, And that's why when it's Arizona, Miami, Washington and then no proven the Jets. Um, some interesting guys names, guys who are gonna be taken certainly in the first round of the draft, but also a whole bunch of good guys. They're the real Arctic classman or decided to pass on it. One guy who went down to mobile and worked out all week and from what I understand look pretty good doing so but decided not to play in the game. With Dracula's the quarterback from Alabama who, you know, I've been a fan of all year and it really warmed up to and I haven't pretty highly rated going into the NFL draft. Give us what you heard about Mac in practice this week and Why did he pass on playing in the game today? Yeah. You know, I think he had a little bit of a wrist injury or something. Just wanted to rest up, but he did what he had to do, right? He went down there. He created a buzz. He performed well. We spoke to June Jones, the former NFL coach, he said. He's the number one quarterback in this year's draft, Trevor Laurence included, so there's a lot of love. Mack Jones. There's uh Looking like more of a consensus feeling that he is going to be a first round pick, and I think you know this quarterback class is pretty interested in the way it's shaping up. But when you talk about a pocket passer Again, somebody who will get the ball downfield. You know, June Jones kind of referencing his deep ball accuracy, And I do think Matt Jones probably throws the best meatball in this year's draft. And so you know, the problem is when it goes to the NFL, he's probably gonna be playing with the worst. Wide receiver class, that wide receiver group that he's had in quite some time. So you know how does that translate? But, you know, I think that Jones is the guy that you get him in the right situation. Maybe it's Pittsburgh one or two years behind a big band. And I think that really puts him in a situation to succeed. And so I do have some love for Mack Jones. "And so Yeah, man, whatever gives me power. I'm gonna believe that Lovett, Tampa Bay, Trey Trevor Sigma joining us here from draft network Lets talk a little draft with you. Now we're going to head out to mobile. There's gonna be. Ah, lot of one story lines is there always are giving a couple that are interesting to you right now that as we sort of start this process for the draft what stands out to you about more? So what we should be talking about where people try chasing the quarterbacks and all that. But what else? Who were you talking about? Yeah. I mean, I mean, the wide receiver groups Fantastic When you look you guys like shy Smith Island. Wallace could area Tony Tray von Grimes, Marty Rogers. Nico Collins. Is there Cornell Powell was there. I mean, like, that's always a strong group, and I feel like It feels like every year over the last couple of years to get these guys really stand out and truly increase their stock, and this is where it really all starts. And so it's always big when it comes to the wide receiver position, as well as the running back position to a means of Beatrix Felton Ramada Re. Stevenson I know Is there trace sermon who's come on heavy as of late. Michael Carter, who is I hate to say it like that. The other eunt running back Who isn't Devante Williams with Michael Carter is fantastic as well. You've got a guy like Island Hill. Who's going out there, Shoot. I mean, he only played in a couple of games. I am made my mind just in that one game Mississippi State. So now that's another big story, too. Is it and who is going to mobile who may have had a shortened season for whatever reason, and I'll tell kind of season there now getting to show their stuff And it's really important for players like that. And soak islands one that popped out to me immediately who I know a lot of scouts really liked and It's the same thing right? It's a new environment for a lot of these players on and you enjoy that, because Cynical coaching. It's different chemistry and, ah, big part. Something's always stands out to me is if you can connect with the group of guys around you, whether that is your position group or your coach or your offensive line or your wide receivers or whatever it is on defense, especially a demon mention anybody over there, But if you will connect and have chemistry with those guys in such a short week with such few practices That really stands out its beak to who you are with your football character, your football like you, your intelligence how quickly you can take things up and being coachable is something that we've we've heard many, many times whether it's from directors of scouting or assistant G. M's or head coaches or whoever is making the decisions and the draft room and that's really what the senior Bowl is all about. So we really I mean, all things considered have a fantastic group of senior Bowl guys. They're coming out to mobile. And so it should really be an exciting week. What? We have some breaking news that's coming out right now. I'd love to get your reaction to this. According to Adam Schefter, Josina Anderson actually had a first The Jets are gonna be hiring Robert Saleh the 40 Niners D. C. What do you think about that? Wow. So I mean, you know that he was one of the hot coaching candidates right? He was kind of ham, Eric, the enemy, Arthur Smith, You know, like those guys were blind, able as well from the Buffalo bills. These were all the guys that were should have been on everybody's radar in for the Jets to go with a defensive head coach. It's not the direction I thought they were gonna go. Not the Robert Sailor is a poor choice of you know, it depends on how he interviewed and how we think that he is going to do with the head coach Headset, but Obviously, he's had a couple of fantastic years dealing with the talent getting the most out of that, especially with the San Francisco 49 or Super Bowl run. So you know his caliber of getting that final game of the season. But I really did not think that they would go the defense of direction, especially given the fact that there's some back and forth on. What do you do with Donald? And it's gonna be you know, you figured it might be an offensive mind. It could come in and salvaged Arnold, or you're probably taking a quarterback at number two overall, so I thought it was gonna be offense. I really did love the direction that they were going to go. But perhaps sailor really blew them away and interviews. Maybe they thought this is the leader. This is the manager of this is a facilitator, the guy that we want to trust with our heads that and so it's an interesting call. I didn't think it would be a defensive guy. But He certainly proved over the last couple of years that he deserves a shot like this. Yeah, The plan is actually eyes. I understand. It is just to bring in either Mike McDaniel or Excuse me, Michael floor. So, basically a Shanahan offense up there, which I think will benefit Donald greatly From what I understood what I've understood the last couple of weeks is Joe Douglas wants to give it one more run with Donald Trade back out of two with a quarterback thirsty team multiplies picks and start to really pad that roster. Now, If that actually happens, we'll have to wait and see. But that is my understand. I think of that plan. How do you feel about that Hire knowing that information Well, so you know, I've been for a lead the last couple of weeks that I feel like the draft really begin to number three overall when it comes to Miami because I didn't think that they were moving on from two. I thought that, too was going to continue to be their guy and with that, said I thought they were going to be in that kind of a similar situation where you have a lot of Cuba. Needy teams like you just said. You know, Carolina, potentially Denver, San Francisco, New England, Washington, Chicago, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh and that you know, those are just the ones off the top of my head That could use quarterbacks. And so with that in mind, you figure you could start a bidding war between those teams. Get quite a bit for trading back if you've already got your quarterback, So if the Jets believe that that is the case, then sure it makes it even more valuable. Because before when I went over scenarios of what it could be for Miami, you know, certainly you're talking about multiple first round picks for teams and move up or whoever was gonna be left outside of the top two, you know, let's say the Trevor launch. We think he's going one and then Either Justin Fields or Zach Wilson, probably going number two. And I thought that that was going to be the case with the Jets. And so okay, you got either trey Lance or whoever was left between those two guys who you could trade up or at number three. But if it's number two You got all three guys on the board you have you have the ability to go up and get whichever got you wanted. So if that's the chase, look, if they think that Donald is salvageable than certain they have the chance to pick up multiple first round picks over the next couple of years..
