"devante " Discussed on Debate Amongst Friends With Doc & Prof
"Riva xilin a call now. We already been down that he had already been down. That road Hopefully it doesn't turn into the redesigning because we was alan in tampa was no good papyrus different scheme. But now he doesn't want stay here in other news. Marla mac and the indianapolis colts are mutually agreeing to seek a trade. I hate these kind of articles. I really do. I hate i hate anything. Any trade talk in the news. I hate like keep it secret. You know like keep it under wraps like the internal until you ask to make deal please. Because his lowers the value of the trade like. I'm i mean some people still going to say. Hey i want marla mac team. I'll give you a second round. Pick form call it a day but other people like whoa. If both of you don't wanna be with each other. Then they'll give you fourth at six round pick from something like a turkey and chief sandwich which is exactly what happens to the lions in jamie collins. I they put it out there like a. We're going to explore a trade. Of course everybody knows that is unhappy and now look. They had to release him. Which which. I don't understand. I mean to me. Thank you now. You have this person and the they're under.
Baltimore Ravens Promote Veteran RB Devonta Freeman to Active Roster
"Devante freeman has been promoted from the ravens practice squad to the active roster recently they released trenton cannon and i dunno mike. Do you think there is a fantasy. Fallout to devante freeman being activated to the roster and not necessarily but is it possible. He comes in and get sixty eight carries and one target. Maybe and if that happens that's taking away from tyson
Cowboys Kicker Misses Two Field Goals in Dramatic Loss to Buccaneers
"I i don't think there's any way of getting around at the tonight. A loser for the dallas cowboys. Is greg zero line. Let's let's your thoughts your thoughts on greg's Let's see here one second. This is a hectic night. Obviously greg line just amber says. I'm so mad right now on facebook. i'm with you. I get this. You know an anthony says not the same defense Tony says push off definitely a push off there at the end cowboys losing. Because the buccaneers drive. If somehow missed the game drive at the very kick a game winning field goal which just about no time remaining cowboys. defense can't stop them in the cowboys. Defense i will say kind of was a little bit of the same old defense. We didn't get you know a defense that was just allowing the bucks going on and on and on and on but this defense did get four turnovers tonight. But if we examine those turnovers. I think the only real authentic one was the demarcus lawrence forced fumble demarcus. Lawrence is definitely a winner tonight. I think demarcus lawrence was awesome. But the first interception the cowboys had the trayvon digs on was a tipped ball. Off of leonard fournette. Yes that counts. Yes that's true. Yes that count statistically but you know that's not necessarily your defense making a play on the ball cowboys also got an interception on. Tom brady at the end of the first half throwing a hail. Mary trying something before the half. That isn't really count. Although jordan lewis certainly had valiant effort trying to run that back and get some points You know the last turnover. The one that kind of turned the game around a little bit. That gave the cowboys. an opportunity. There at the very end Was just kinda. Chris godwin you know running into devante. Casey's helmet those things aren't necessarily You know something. You can replicate on a week by week basis and so for that reason. It's hard to give the cowboys credit. For all of those turnovers it was a different type of performance at the exact same defense we. I think we definitely saw some improvements. I think that mike parsons played moderately. Well i think that demarcus lawrence has mentioned played while randy gregory was on things But this was. I mean man. What a rough game for anthony

"devante " Discussed on ESPN Chicago 1000 - WMVP
"Macri's lyrically performed on robberies, Man, That's right there. Yeah, that was that was the second new album. Yes, That's right. Where would you rank the second Wu album among all who albums that affiliated rule groups. That's the question, See, That's what we're going to go in the series. Can you listen to woo Listen to routine clanky back in the day. No, I say that I was really a woo guy. I'm a West Coast. So it really wasn't he goes as far East as like East l a Once you get fast east l a lorry you guess what was cool, But it's not. It wasn't like, you know. It just wasn't it Wasn't the l A thing? I guess. Right, right? Yeah. No. We could rank well, alright, look, Devante Travis tweeted at us at Keith J. Do now on the Dr Pepper. I didn't do nothing and said Cleveland will show us that they can do this season week one. That's wise guys, I said, there's a big game. They rebuilt the team. The smart way. I believe Baker will show everyone he woke up feeling dangerous. J. Did he wake up? Do you think Baker woke up feeling dangerous? We talked about the Browns this summer, and I said, Look, I think their expectations need to be to win a Super Bowl like I don't I don't see. You know, I I know everybody is going to start chiming in with what they're realistic Expectations could be But as athletes I never think realistically I don't live on planet Earth. I live in my own mind. And for the talent, you see this team haven't if O B J can come back off injury the way that we've seen ending the talent Ding ding Qi. This is what I'm saying to me. That's the relationship that will determine it. There can be good, but if they if Baker and Odell don't get some chemistry, I don't know if they can be great. Like they need that dynamic receiving threat? No, I don't think I don't think Look. Oh, BJ is certainly an important part of the team's success that they could potentially have. But for whatever reason, if he just becomes the second or the third best receiver on their team, I think they'll be fine because the defensive side of the ball has gotten better. They went out and they got Troy Hill and John Johnson from the Rams. We know that they signed Davian Clown need to pair him with miles geared. I think when you look at them overall, they get greedy Williams back at the whole second decision, they so they get the whole secondary back. Max. On top of that. Offensively, We know what they have a second time around right? They are now in the offense for his second time. This is not new to them like it was last year took him the second half to kinda get going and we saw what they can be. With all that being said. I don't know if they can steal up seed Kansas City. They're still going to be a very good football team. There's no question about it. But I don't know if they're quite Kansas City. Yes, Well, look, I think the outlying factor here is can Baker Mayfield improve upon the second half of last season in the second half of last season? He was drastically a different dude. He commanded the defense Now the Dolphins. Now if you want to say hey, with O B. J not being on the field and natural about him to go through his progressions quicker because he had the force of although BJ, So we've seen that maturation of Baker Man field as a quarterback if you can sustain or take it to a new level, that elite performance Considering all the aspects that they brought to the team. This team is loaded. Let's not act like they're unloaded there. But But the narrative that was set out there about Baker Mayfield, forcing the football to O. B. J. That's just a bunch of and it's not You, J. It's just what people tried to put out there. That was a bunch of nonsense. He was not. He did not get better because they lost O B. J. He got better because he started to understand exactly what Kevin Stefanski wanted him to do within the offense. Uh, it just saw the coincide. With O B. J getting hurt. I never said that he got better with O B. J being off the field at all I was saying was that look, you are demonstrative personality when you're on the field. The quarterback is not secure with who he is. And you're saying Give me the ball. You cannot tell me and I've had this as a point guard. I play with dudes like this. Give me the ball at this spot. Now there might be other reason might be open. But in the back of your mind if you're not sure of where you are and who you are as a player, you're going to be looking to that the marshal personality because they demanded. They're used to doing that. Now that person goes out, then all of a sudden you start finding the rhythm of the game just slightly different. I think there are two things going on one Baker. Mayfield had four head coaches and about two seasons like two seasons and the game four head coaches 33 very bad ones, too. Yeah, that's the point. By the way, you think about Alex Smith. Well, he had all these different OSI's early on three bad head coaches. Fought like by the way, they're unemployable in the NFL right now. Bad, right? Okay, followed by the right guy for you, and then he took off but key, So I think it's largely to do with that. And and and by the way, the Browns have a great offensive line, protecting the pastor blocking for the run. But key Odelein and Odell and Baker did not have chemistry. I'm not. I'm not pointing to that as the reason they weren't good. They did not have chemistry. They need it. But they didn't have chemistry. But at the same time, Max, it was new to them. Baker got better as time went on. O B. J just happened to be hurt. So it coincided with the injury. It wasn't if if O. B J was there and we 12 We would have seen something different..
Discussing Paddy Pimblett's Intriguing Potential Future Matchups
"I'm really intrigued about the patty pimple potential matches patty pinball versus grand dawson from our friend brennan nunez. We're going to start up with him. Grand dawson getting ready to fight. Diego fajita on october seconds So if he loses. Maybe do that. But i do not want to see patty pimlott in there with a guy. Like grant dawson right now. Just no no slow. Build grand is a very dangerous guy. maybe someday couple more wins. We see we can start talking about that but no we can't do that Rowntree versus ahlberg. Don't mind that aspen. Also till versus Riot hall and then brunson versus cannon here. I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of those. So if i see that again. i probably won't read it again. Patty family versus jamie malarkey. Lot of patty pin love Poppy underscore brian's Molly mccann versus miranda maverick ak eminem. Eminem hashtag on. I'll work that out. Yeah yeah Patty the body versus. I know i mentioned malarkey. But milwaukee's getting ready to fight devante smith so maybe the winner of
NFL Wide Receiver Rankings 2021
"Football is right around the corner today. We're going through our consensus wide receiver. Reggie everybody likes wide receiver. Don't they wide receiver right gang. Judge go this is a big one guy. You can win your drafts with a lot of these wide. Receivers that we're about to talk about even if you drop them round one and round two and round three. Yes you certainly can. But we'll get to some. They can get much later. That are going to provide a lot of value in two thousand twenty one year. Yeah i can honestly say that. The one draft strategy to draft chinese. I've never taken a quarterback around one. And i have not taken a wide receiver in round one of any of my drought so far even super flex even supervise just getting. We just got some breaking news on sleeper that darryl henderson was injured in practice not return man would that be a huge injury to the rams funk season is funky town yeah davy jones. One of 'em jake fog or just a staffer. The woods cup higby season all adds to a man there on. Oh i hit. He's not gonna do me dirty two years in a row. That was a a when you're saying he is buy his jersey. If you finish for you. Oh i think i have to. That's too bad center role egg. I mean i. I don't own for that would be the economic shared the name first letter of the last name. I think it's a lot gusting at speaking injury. In preseason at all the things what are some preseason thoughts on wide receivers anything standing out or any injuries standing out anything. We should be on the lookout for as we get closer to the season. Starting all it's been kind of interesting like if you go to. Espn and just look. At the wide receivers. Half of them are listed as questionable. We're still a couple of weeks away from the season. So it's not overly alarming at this point but there are some injuries that are more alarming than others. That will get shortly. But let's start with our top wide. Receivers are we have devante adams tyreek hill stefan big calvin ridley the andrea hopkins and aj brown rounding out our top six. Which one of these guys do you wanna talk about. I think we could talk about devante. Adams tyreek hill. Just be as. I think i flip flop though is at least thirty times this off season gone back and forth between the two especially with rogers coming back. I don't wanna put davante adams at number one. You know contract year roger. They're going to go the big last dance. He's going to have all of the targets that he wants think he can get two hundred targets in a season. I don't but i think he's going to pace wide receivers when it comes to target. So i have devante adam just my number one. As well i think the touchdown potential. He is the favourite to lead the league in receiving touchdowns this year. Aaron rodgers coming back. That chemistry is as good as any quarterback wide receiver in the entire league. Yeah i had tyreek hill number one until aaron rodgers. I made it official that he was coming back and then davante adams shot right back up to number one. I have devante at number two tyreek at one. Like i said i flip flop all over but even as projections. I have devante adams at one hundred and sixty five targets. And i think that's conservative to be honest. I think it is still i. I got about one seventy five. Yeah i don't think he comes anywhere near two hundred I have team range. That one one sixty one seventy i. I also kind of a little bit worried. I think this offense could be worse than it was last year and cobb amari rounders are two factors that they did not have last year. That are legitimate receiving options. I do think that devante adam. I'm not gonna say this. I think he could actually Kind of disappoints fantasy owners this year. I'm not projecting it that way. But i see the path to it happening this year. Unlike in yourself.
Alabama SEC Football Predictions for 2021
"Feel like discussions of national championship should be perfect segue when we looked to break down the defending champion from season ago and paint. I don't think it'll surprise anybody. When you look at alabama fan duel sportsbook there less than two to one to win the national title there an overwhelming favorite to come out of the sec west at minus four fifty. And when you look at their win total. It's eleven and a half shaded to the younger. Of course we know that the most electric offense that we've seen in tuscaloosa will not bring back a lot of their key. Playmakers nausea harris and of course devante smith taking their talents to the nfl combining for fifty five touchdowns last year. Mack jones get gone of course as well. But it's rare if you're a team in college football you bring in two former. Nfl head coaches and bill. O'brien and doug marrone to help pass the baton to the next heir-apparent embrace young under center. I don't know how much they're actually going to do. Or how much you actually want him to do. Listen nick listen. Nick and hope that they can keep players on the straight narrow that are collecting seven figure paydays at least on the books under an i l. arrangements compared to Bitcoin trust and everything else. They used to collect in the past the one thing with alabama that they've adhered to under this offensive. Change the last few years is that our offense is not changing. If you're coming into the sabin rehab program you're going to adapt to our offense or guys aren't constantly learning new systems and it seemed work but when i look at alabama's dominant they've been with nick. Sabin the only one back to back championships wants it. Feels like with his system. Continuity plays a large role. And that's something alabama's offense that you alluded to just doesn't have this season now. No one's feeling bad for alabama the way they were crew. But you're replacing. Six players drafted in the first twenty four picks five on offense and totally replacing three starters along the line to starting receivers a tight end and a quarterback and it's not just the players four offensive assistance. Four offense of analysts. They've all moved on. So alabama's offense is gonna regress. That is not a question. It's happening the real question for me. Is how large dip.

"Now to god. The i know that you are extremely enthusiastic about Terrence marshall going to the panthers. Twenty seven th pick of the second round just a few picks after escorts from lsu tears marshall to the panthers. What are your thoughts on this cal. I'll pick it a fantastic lang spot. you know. I think i was super high on marshall. Probably highest of just about anybody in the industry All all college season. And all you know predrag and my my enthusiasm is not where one bit. I love the landing spot where some people might be turned off on it You know I know that he is not maybe going to be immediately. Be the number. One with robby anderson and with dj more there. But i think he's going to have a clear role from day one because if you look at his body type and how profiles ios not just a big bodied receiver he also is a a burner to i mean he is true burner and You know high jump. High catch radius any any provides the wide receivers did not do as your which was give a teddy bridgewater. Now is going to be darnold. But they didn't have anybody to score in the red zone. You know everything. They they scored was from like you know deeper out or the the running backs the mike davis or you know. But they really didn't have anybody in the red zone that they could produce. So i think marshall steps in right away and could be. I bet he has a real legitimate chance at leading all rookies in in receiving touchdowns ex year. So you know it's somebody that i like. As far as a talent. I think he can easier to age. Well in that offense because He is going back with his former college coach. Now the head coach of the of the panthers. So i think that this guy drafted him whereas he might have fallen a little bit in. Nfl draft because there was a little bit uncertainty right before the draft about some of his medical history. I don't think coach takes them at high if he has any type about about the about his foot injury so i think that this is going to be the guy that's going to be all help you. Now you're gonna have some flashes. He's going to be probably inconsistent. Probably a lot like a like. I kind of value him a lot. Like the where i had claypool asher whereas i kind of knew that there was going to be a lot of competition for targets but i knew that there was gonna be a lot of upset especially if somebody gets hurt And i just think that there's gonna be a lotta touchdown and he's a big guy when people start really understanding how much of a freak athlete is. Don't be surprised if this guy is being compared as maybe even number one wide receiver in this class next year. That's that's how upside. i see you know. I do think chases a better prospect but you know they were on the same team and You know even on the team with jefferson and chase He marshall was extremely valuable piece of their natural shape team. I mean he. I think he had like fourteen touchdowns or something you know. And he had costa twenty yard per catch average on the team. I mean he he really is a tremendous player and then when those two guys left last year you know he played over about a. I don't know about six or seven seven games. you opted out. And he averaged one hundred and fifteen dollars. You're talking about more leading devante smith. It was really. I believe tears marshall who bleeding the country in yards per game you know before he opted out and he also was averaging close to two touchdowns a game you know and this same competition is all those. Stc guy so. I just liked body. I can't i hate to sound like a broken record. But i really do like big receivers. It's not the smaller wide. Receivers can't thrive in that bayer wide receivers don't bust. I just think that when you historically look at all the body types of players that are generally over six foot in there like over two hundred pounds to twenty six. I'd say two to twenty is about the average. You know we get the top hand wide receiver fantasy for fancy standpoint every year. That's probably about the average. So i like my guys. That profile big catch raises. So i just feel like they're more consistent with a when when you get that's capable of being a possession receiver getting first downs and touchdowns. I i like their consistency versus having a field stretcher. We might put up forty points in a game lake. You kyle i am. I am feeling good about carrots. Marshall and about what he's gonna do in his nfl career. The only hold back that. I have with taras marshall and again this could be viewed as a positive based on what i'm going to say in a second is so terrorist marshall hops into offense with dj more lobbying said in christian. Mccaffrey already there. So you're already looking at the possibility of being the fourth target there in carolina which i deal and add that to the fact that sam darnold who i think everyone considers at this point to be in the bottom. Half of the starting quarterbacks is throwing the ball to terrence. Marshall this is this is clearly not ideal so short term. There are some concerns. I do think like you that he's going to be great in the red zone. Short term era. You're gotta be thinking while sam. Donna already has connected to robinson clearly. The carolina organization views. Dj moore's or number receiver cj. Metcalf a christian mccaffrey a year a year ago. He broke the record for the most receptions for running back in a single season ever. She has to view him almost as a receiver. At this point with the matt of receptions which is insane that he's getting one hundred receptions i think it was a year or two ago so that that's not ideal but dynasty football dicey football so not necessarily great redraft person. In my opinion but dynasty football is about the long game and the long game. I see in the long game i see turns marshall absolutely thriving because we don't know a five we anderson's gonna be in carolina long-term. We don't know what the scenario is going to be with. Sam darnold or with christian mccaffrey. Dj more but we know the is one of the best receivers in this class in. He is talented enough will were at some point career. He will get an opportunity probably sooner rather than later if not this year to really showcase what he can do and he has the talent to be a number one receiver. I love his size. I loved as a big bodied receiver. That's a great fan a red zone. There are a lot of good things about terrence marshall and so what i was saying earlier is the fact that not going to be good in the short term is almost a positive here for you as a dynasty are because now we're seeing him fall to the third fourth fifth round pick of the second round which is lower than it should be gone if anything. This guy should be going at the back half of the first half so now because the term concern that comes with marshall. Now you're gonna be able to go up there and gets terrorist marshall and you're not gonna have to reach from either he's probably just gonna fall right in your laps and you're gonna walk is one of the biggest winners in your dynasty graphs. Because here's a guy that has a potential to be a top five receiver in this

"Is thereby do like the fact that kyle amaury stole from the ball but now we are going to hop into a guy that went fifteen picks earlier in nfl draft. A guy that. I absolutely love allied larger more. He felt a second pick of the second round. And i am adjust fan. So i hope i'm not too biased here by do absolutely love elijah more because you look at the offense there. The new york has in place and the did geico davis and they do have them. Zal dumbbell mims there too and jamison crowder and you may think while there's a lot of receivers here but fact of the matter is the jets spent high draft capital. Two goping get larger more. If they're picking him with the thirty fourth pick of the nfl draft when they have all these other holes on the roster. We're talking edge quarterback you can make the case that they probably should have picked a player that was an edge or cornerback but they went ahead and they pick the larger more probably because they had a first round great on him and viewed him as one of the top receivers in this class. And if they didn't think that he could he could become a number one number two receiver. The offense and zack wilson. They probably wouldn't have bothered. They're in picking eligible more. So i think that you have all these. Ribisi were twos vibrancy. Threes in newark. Don't have a true alpha by receiver one in york and you saw gems on men's last year yes. He had injuries throughout the season. So we didn't really see enough from him but clearly the jets haven't don't believe him enough to be born receiver because they drafted elijah more. And when you're looking at college football last season devante. Smith had a great season but a lot of people are not talking about elijah more enough and i believe elijah moore had the second most receiving yards in college football last season in a shortened season. So this is a guy you can make the case for is a very very good receiver and it was. It was definitely disappointing for him. To see 'em fall out of the first round. But i absolutely love this landing spot with zach wilson in leiden. More both being rookies. I think the chemistry is going to develop an plus alleged. moore's blazing fast receiver. He can like a four three forty and this is the guy. That's an impressive rat runner to me to really has a little bit of it all. He may not be the biggest receiver the biggest taller receiver. But i think that he s potential to be a slot receiver a coup number for the jets in years to come so i am all about allied more this year and going forward i think there may even be better than rashad. Bateman and may be the third or fourth fest receiver in this class. Well i just wanna stay for the viewers. You know anybody. That's been listening to us. Knows that you're not just being a homer on him because you were higher than just about everybody in. The industry like the entire draft process before the draft. So i know it's not just because he landed at the jets because i would call you crazy. It was just for that reason. But you know i think you make interesting cases you know it you also knowing you. You're not a very high. You weren't high on the corey davis signing. I don't think that you're surely how on mims of abbas really really Into mems last year Going the draft process. I did not end up with him on any teams because his a draft dot com just started skyrocketing and he the point where i was taking pittman over them. Still then you. I wasn't getting him. On the turnaround you know because i also claypool and gibson ranked ahead of them but Like mims and i thought he was actually a really really interesting prospect. So at night we're willing to give on him after He's got that alphabet. I'm not willing to give up on him after a year. That a complete dumpster fire in new york last year. You know they have a completely new offense. I corey davis kinda showed that he could be the number one wide receiver. Antonio brown was hurt. Leisure you know most of those. Those guys actually kind of started splitting targets down the stretch about pretty pretty evenly. So i do. Think that Corey davis they paid him. I think they're going to at least attempt to get him. The number one spot and i do think mims profiles really well and the outside as well Us why they went out and got him with that pick. What corey davis and mims strengths are like down the field jump ball situations whereas i think Allies more profiles more is like underneath guy that can can really thrive if he gets volume. I just wonder how much volume is going to be there. If they're not running a dominant amount of sets of three watersheds. Because i do think that the other two receivers with their bodies and big catch races will Out snap him on the outside while it's interesting that you're high on Corey davis. And i know i've said before the not hot high in corey davis so i think that's another reason as to why i'm higher on a lighter more. I'm just not buying the fact. That corey davis succeeds in new york. Two years ago not last year but if we look back two years ago and a lot of people probably have wiped out from their mind. But i have not wiped that season from my mind because i was big. Encore dave's heading attest season and he completely let me down lake completely. Let me down. I'm not even sure. I'm thinking was probably healthy the entire season and i'm not even sure if he finished as top fifty receiver in the league and so fast forward a year and had a very successful year with the titans. I'm not knocking him. But here's a guy who was picked with the seventh or east kick in his draft and he was supposed to be the number one receiver for titans and we never really saw that work out for the titans. And i think they declined his fifth year option. So there's a reason why the titans aren't holding onto corey davis and i think unfortunately core gape is a receiver who can be great here and there like a devante parker. But he's not consistent enough. He's not a true number one receiver. You gotta in a way force in targets from the be successful. And i think the jets are just gonna realize the gecko that our number one receivers probably larger more in a number two receivers probably summons so. I'm not scared about corey. Davis getting targets. People were saying the same thing last season about shod paramount and how he was going to have a huge role in that new york offense and what happened in bre shot parent. Who by the way. I was extremely on extremely law. Shot payment last year. What happened to be shot. He did nothing for that offense. So i think just because the jets went after core gave us that doesn't mean that he's going to automatically demand targets. It's zach. wilson's offense now. I think zack. Wilson is going to gravitate Skies like elijah. More over corey davis and a jamison crowder dems. I think the alleged moore will end up being his normal receiver. And i think that the ceiling for more is very high to it. "Okay. Let's move on to a guy that's being compared by now to rashad. Bateman in that is lonsdale more. He went to the arizona cardinals in the second round. And this is a guy that a lot of people are on dynasty as well. Collier thoughts on rhonda. More from purview. Run more than other guy data you know. I like the talent. I kind of wonder what his role is going to be in arizona that they do have the passing volume there to support him to become a fantasy viable wide receiver. If he's talented as he can't is athleticism has shown. I think he can produce a to be coming up a pretty valuable fancy option. I just. I'm not really in love with them. Taking them in the first round though. Because i'm not confident that he ends up becoming a very coveted player long-term. I'm just not sure that he that it's without getting the volume that Some of these other top receivers. You're going to get. I'm not sure that his death. The targets are going to be Extremely valuable and so. He's renita rely on a lot of catches now again with the air raid being spread system. There should be a lot of underneath stuff or that. It can complement deandre hopkins. So you later in their careers and you might see these. Two guy switching. But as coming out of college rancho moore's is very limited in what it skills that is He did almost everything. From elias scrimmage whether handoffs or getting short yard passes and running after the catch which is it's good for a lot of offense is like i said he could be a nice compliment out nice Robin but to deandre hopkins. But i i definitely cannot see a batman batman Combination there so. I think that the upside is. The ceiling is a little bit low for me for wanting to spend a first round pick. I think that What you can do with a lot of these guys is if there if you're kind of not sold on them at a back in first or early second round picks you know people covet. Those rookie picks quite often. And you can sometimes get undervalued veteran that you know is going to produce next year i agree with you on wanda and it's baffling to me that these two guys have with similar with shout bateman in baltimore the guy. We just talked about a similar. Adp in dynasty rookie draft right now average draft addition. They're probably going round. Pick eight pick or so but like you call. I think that rondo more is more of a second round. Pick because of the fact that hopkins is already there and i'm gonna touch on that a little bit more and say that long-term if let's say rhonda more sticks with the cardinals. Is he ever going to be a number one receiver in target for cal for calamari. Because as long as the andrea is there and he's demanding one hundred seventy targets. There's not a lot of room. That offense to morris thrive. So that's why i'm with you on route. One del more. I think he's a talented receiver but Even before the draft i was not as high on rhonda with a lot of receivers seeing this landing spot to me makes him in less desirable of a prospect for me. So i'm not on the vonda more train either. And this is probably a guy that i will avoid. I have no problem taking him in the second round. But based on where i've been singing going i think he's not gonna fall to a second round. And if there's a toss up between vonda more rashad bateman the board that i'm gonna pick shot bateman That's what i'm going to be doing every every time. Because i just like Bateman a lot. More than i do rhonda more at this point. Yeah i do i. She liked the landing spot. You know. being tied to collar long-term is a is a positive. I think as far as you know where people are going to proceed even if he does come out and flashes rookie year. People are gonna get really excited to you. Know that that's one thing that i think that You either one of these guys are tied up the young quarterbacks that can rush around and can hit a deep ball i just wondered what his development curves because the way he was using college and if he does maybe this guy could be a terrific type because he really is at that super athlete of prospect. We're

"We're going to hop right back into it and we're going to start with rishaad bateman from the baltimore ravens. He was picked with the twenty seventh overall. Pick in nfl draft. And there's been a lot of conversations about rashaad bateman as to where he compares to some of the other receivers in this class. I know in particular out of people have been comparing him to rondo more but is there a conversation to be made that he's better than other receivers qadir's tony that went before him. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on this call. Would you have to say about rashaad bateman. Yeah as far as a baby. And he's a guy that i think. A lot of other people in the industry were were higher on that. I was going into the draft. One thing i do think kind of happen with his leaning spot is these kind of seemed to fall down in some bricky drafts that i've seen and he's kinda back to where the place that i kinda thought he should be all long You know if he falls any further than where he he's kind of going like i've seen him fall as far as like Seventeenth overall in in some superplex ethic. That's just a little bit of over reaction from the from the market you know It probably settle down. He'll probably move up a little bit more as addressees goes along closer to the season. But i think there's people need to be really careful because we saw with. Aj brown where he went to a a a lesson desirable situation a few years ago and people You know pushed him down too late. I you know second second round rookie drafts and turned out to be a pretty big mistake you know. You can't overreact. To situations. Lamar jackson still developing as a passer. And we really don't know whether the baltimore offense may open up or not you know the part of the reason why they might be writing so much inhabit says low volume and passing is because they really dependent on their own their defense and the running game but it also might be an issue because they didn't have the water receivers with the skill sets the to produce so bateman adds a very vital piece in my opinion that they did not have or last couple seasons in in a possession. Receiver know that moves change as well as a another red zone threat to help out with mark andrews because really their receivers have not been responsible for touchdowns last and Marquees brown where i think. He's a good. football player. Is for a stretching the field when he's healthy i. I'm not sure that he's the type of guy that you really want to depend on in dynasty especially in ppo release because he's not going to have a high volume with the with the average depth of targets that he gets. I'd argue that this landing spot for bateman is fantastic landing spot for a rashad baby because you have an offense here with mark. He's brown and like you said. Mark brown is used primarily as deep that this is not a guy that's gonna be demanding by receiver one targets. I think he's gonna be demanding some targets. But he's the guy that's a good deep threat and he's going to have big games here and there but the baltimore. Ravens are lacking a number one receiver. And they haven't had a number one receiver for quite some years. And i can't remember quite frankly the last time they had a number one receiver and resod bateman guy to me that could hop right in there in become a true number one receiver for the baltimore. Ravens this is a great possessing catch. This is a guy that is just an all great receiver. He's going to be a great match with lamar jackson. And he's probably gonna get some solid targets away out of the gate and so i was. I'm pretty how. I was pretty high on them. Before the draft started. I had him publicly about my fourth or fifth best receiver and landing spot to me. Doesn't change anything for rashad bateman. I still think he's worthy of a late. I ask pick in dynasty rookie drafts. You could depends. Maybe even a little bit higher. But i think overall basements a great receiver and i would even argue because i know a lot of people are considering bateman to be the top of the second tier for receivers. But i would argue that. Maybe he should be considered with the first tier receivers as well because if considering jalen waddell to be in that first year a battisti receivers this year now. People are than i have to make the case. The bateman is right up there with jalen waddell because you look at geelong competition and wolf Devante parker for targets. And then you look at batman's competition for targets as well and you have like brown and the opportunity is actually better for the women's and i'd have to argue that. Lamar jackson is a better quarterback than a tiger. Ryo as well and yes. I know that they've been known for the running game in the past. But i think that's naturally because they haven't had an alpha dog receiver like rishaad based in also rashaad. Bateman is a guy that is going to be able to handle a lot more targets than jalen watteau. I don't see as high as many targets in receptions for jalen models i actually think that rashad bateman of very good receiver and he's someone worth considering in your dynasty rookie draft him would be a great value. Fell to like the back half of the first round in your dynasty rookie draft okay. Let's move on

"That's like really a friend she'll go out with you. And that we miss scales are impeccable. Like tonight rick. We'd recommend now back to the show now. So you dave another thing that kinda has another question and this question came to me. 'cause i just moved to atlanta in the covy so atlanta was conduct shut down but not really but i still didn't want to be out like that but also at the same time. I'm not much of a club person anymore. I'll go out win like you know for the bachelor party you know who's out a little bit so begs the question of you know you move to a new place and you. Aren't the the bar type club type or bars. Clubs are open. How do you make new friends. So i think Partially easiest guy to extend your network mean france to my wife is kind of how we spun off their. You know when you move to healthily. I know it's easier for beaks these to meet other people of your small cities that can get rough Fine i've been in that situation before. So when i was a small town bruton alabama not a lot of people there. I made a lot of friends. Through people i worked with. You know we went to dinner. They introduced me to their family or they might have been talking to joe call table and hey what does he do as i oh he does. This is this. Oh by the way. He plays basketball at the gym on saturdays at twelve. Don't you like basketball. You should ask. We'll play nago play basketball. Hamp saturday to these guys. And then i finally kinda find a network of people that i hang out with so Usually cove is kind of having thrown off. They usually through work. You can try to start to find people and that's okay. If you start off talking with his own person you meet somebody through them. And it's like i think that's you know that's the natural progression of relationships. It just happens sometimes but then also you know just reaching out through friends family. I think me and you're in a better situation just because we have our organizations. Everybody has graduate chapters as you can reach out through that. But you just kinda gotta use your network. It's almost it ain't gotta be as taxes is looking for a job but it's all over my resume. Oh and i've seen crazy situations where people link up through like twitter mail. I've seen people like tag location. Like met this place. And we in. Because i'm going cancun beach club and people go through stores. I on another black group. Dues hanging out. Whatever man linka maybe we can have a cookout or something and it's like they see us we see them. Whatever led maybe right next door you. That's cookout you know what i'm saying that you meet people and talk..

Call that person so think you just kinda you you got all these things that you need socially and you just gotta understand where your friends stand own line and how you interact with them imports from. Yeah there's actually some meals out there is like and i wanna go too much. I'm going to relationships. Goes down here. It funny how like. So many of your friends are compartmentalize saying you call on different people for different things. Light and nobody. At least i don't think any of my friends feel us. Like if i 'cause by maybe the main reason i hit them up. Oh you know. I want you advice on this or i want your perspective on this and they from whakatane are happy to give advice. Goes i think people just like giving advice you know and is kind of like a respect thing. 'cause i respect you advice enough to just come to you i like. Hey this is was happening. What would what would you do. How how would you respond to this type of thing. That was also interesting. As one of those people that i spend a lotta time was actually one of my female friends and that kind of makes me think you know how is it for guys to have platonic relationships women because i know with me personally have a lot of female friends and funnily enough light. A lot of girls girls girls that i've dated in the past. I've kind of had to warn them of friendly. Hey i have a lot of female friends there. They are g we just friends. I don't want you to like somebody call my phone late in my girl. Come up on eight thirty nine anything crazy. It's just like imagine one of my homies calling me either. Grass right moralist. Yes so especially what you being married you know..

"So that's kind of like when the other funny things is because you you do meet people. You know what. I'm saying you do have conversations with them boy with the accession of a couple of people's hard for me to say exactly when somebody has gotten the friend label what i'm saying because even think like for black men the word and is just a weird word vocabulary right. That's that's true because even just now. I introduced you as my homie. Got the homeys by. There's really there's really anybody. I just call right. I think there's is also one of those like stereotypes of like dues know certain words. We can't use like if this girl they're not gonna say my home is like that's my girlfriend. Never go home right exactly so you bring up a good point though like through those stages of friendship i think ultimately kind of comes down to just like you know like you said that i age is like man. He engineer engineering line. He's cool next thing is like going through something together. You know what i'm saying I think a lot of times you develop those thorough relationships in. Obviously you've been through certain things. I've been through certain things you struggle with somebody like they know your pain and you know they pay. You know the intricate details. Some of the stuff they go through you know you start to build that extra level of camaraderie extra level of trust within that person. And i think that's how you kind of move through those stages of our friendship. So do you think black men really internalize when they may like true friends. So i you know it's har- because we you already are not in a state of showing a lot of emotion I know we have trouble with that with our female family with you. Know even are the people that are significant others that we were relationship with most of the time. You'll hear a lot of women complain about like not having a deeper emotional connection and understanding what we're going through and i think just ultimately for me. It's hard to share that i like. I love you bro. The girls did it all the time. I got like very few friends whereas like we've had deep conversation around. I mean i really love you. And i appreciate having my line very few people that i've had conversation with so i think it's just it's harder for men to express that because it is it's like i said the girlfriend thing you would never say boyfriend. Are you talking about david saul shots. Yeah so yeah. I think it is harder because we just tell at early as not to be emotional. That's when we board up we don't ever talk about. And they kinda lie that last comment like mccarthy decides that made me think because guys aren't forward with their emotions every guy has a different way of more or less. And i love you right because i if like me for instance on real particular about my personal space and i'm very particular about who i hang out with me life for extended periods of time. So if you're the type of person that he me up eight o'clock and just wanna come over kicking. i'm just like cool and now trying to keep the house at ten right. That's like one of those like oh see focus before voice..
NFL Draft: Players Selected in the First Round
"With Aaron Rodgers wanting out of Green Bay, according to reports a night that ended with pick number 32, the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers going with AH, linebacker from Washington, Joe try on and there's a lot more to come. And there was a lot that was jammed in between those two big events. I thought it was really cool to thieve. The number of Alabama products six of them in the first round, which ties the record set by Miami. Back in 2004. I was thrilled to see Devante Smith go at number 10. Overall, The Eagles actually moved up to get in which I think is neat and they traded with E. Dallas Cowboys, their NFC East rival to grab Devante, and he's impressed me not only on the field, but off the field as well. Patrick's or Tan Hey, was sporting an incredible pink suit, though, is a lot to like about what we saw with the Alabama contingent. Raiders make surprise pick in latest Mel Kiper Jr. mock draft
"Mock draft three point. Oh is available on. Espn plus right. Now and here. We go no surprise at the top. Trevor lawrence has been there and we'll be there for the moment and started to the moment. That pig is made. He's going jacksonville. And that's not going to change at number. Two mel projects the jets to stay put and select quarterback zach wilson who would be the team's highest drafted quarterback since they took joe nemeth thousand nine hundred sixty five at number three. We have a trade that panthers would move up from number eight to select justin fields from ohio state carolina getting its quarterback of the future miami. Picking up more prime picks. And the falcons make it four for four to begin the draft selecting their quarterback of the future trae lanes. Should it go this way. It would be the first time ever that quarterbacks go with each of the first four picks in the draft. We take a look at the rest of mel's top ten. After the four consecutive quarterbacks we see some other names you will get to know. Kyle pitch superstar tight end. More pass catchers jamarcus devante smith jail waddell notably absent on this screen. Max jones the fifth quarterback in this first round the star from alabama who mel projects. Going number fifteen to the new england patriots and let's start there because mel we spoke about this the last time you broke this down for us. You had max jones going considerably higher namely number eight overall. Why do you see this drop. Greenwich carolina eight with matt rule had max jones at the senior bowl practices where he was exceptional right. So you figure carolina's stuck at eight. They would look at mack. Jones new england and fifteen is built. Bellichik nick sabin connection and obviously looking at a quarterback to get back to. Maybe the tom brady days. Okay get your that type of quarterback which is what mack jones is his style and the way he goes about his business as a pocket passer so once carolina in my mach three point. Zero was moving up to get justin field. Mack jones next opportunity to come off. The board for me would be new england at fifteen.

And I'm gonna expand on this with our topic is mentioned. Come again at 8 20 Nick Saban has has changed has adapted has changed with the Times adapted to what is going on recruiting wise. Um, offensive wise. He has tweaked his recruiting and his philosophical approach to bed. He's tweaked his offenses. God uptempo, embraced the AARP. Oh, no more. Big nose tackle. £350 nose tackles. No more £260 linebackers. It's it's defensive backs who could run in a thumbprint, the safety position and here's what is amazing to me. How much turnover he has on that coaching staff. And yet They don't miss a beat. I saw this note today in the athletic. I think it's incredible. At Alabama Saving has won national titles. With five different offensive coordinators. Jim McElwain. Nine in 2011, Doug Nussmeier 2012. Lane, Kiffin 2015, Brian Dabul 2017 Steve Sarkisian 2025 different offensive coordinators. He's won a national championship with He's won national titles with three different defensive coordinators. Kirby Smart, 09, 11, 12 and 15. Jeremy Pruitt 2017 Pete Golding. This year, there were zero assistance on this staff. That worked on the 2017 staff. Let that sink in in terms of the turnover and the staff being flipped. And Alabama gets better. He will turn Nick Saban will 70 In October. And he just reeled in the number one recruiting class in the country for 2021. Masterful in what he's done. I've looked at to mock drafts today. As they relate to Devante Smith, the Alabama wide receiver who I had visions dancing in my head last night of Devante Smith, lining up in a spread offense with Tyler Boyd. And tea, Higgins. Todd McShay has Devante Smith tag teaming with to, uh and the Miami Dolphins. Jacksonville takes Trevor Laurence one. The Jets take Panay Sul to Miami takes Devante Smith at number three. Atlanta takes the quarterback and a BYU Zach Wilson at four and Todd McShay has to the Bengals at number five ratio on Slater, offensive lineman Northwestern I have no idea. If that's valuer that does not seem like value that seems more need on. I think that's an elevation of need, because I haven't seen anybody else who has ratio on Slater as high as the number five worthy in the draft. The second best offensive. I mean, in theory, going number five overall to the Bangles ratio on Slater is a guy like pennies. Panay Sul opted out this You did not play this year. Todd McShay, says Slater projects best is an interior linemen, possibly a center, but he also has the experience of both left and right tackle..

That's part Julia Billingsley, the tight end at the 50 to the Florida 49 yard line wrapped up their Billingsley has really emerged as a weapon here in the second half of the season. We are part of it's because he's a tight end by roster, but he's to me he's just a bigger wide receiver 6 Ft. 4 £230, but he looks like he runs more like a receiver, which, by the way, didn't you just say that he's the one that had the kickoff return? He's returning. As well. That's new for Alabama. First down at the Florida 49 given to Harris, plowing ahead between the hash marks the 40 yard line. Working just shy of that around the 41 so give him 8 8.5 yards will be second. In short, We got two explosive offenses. Here's an Alabama goes fast. But the difference is is that Alabama's got a dominating run game second and officially one given to Harris again as he blasts ahead across the 35 down to the 30 Yard line. He is a battering ram racket 6 to 2 30. First down and just inside the 30 off Florida tied at seven in the S E C championship. John's gives its A Harris A third straight time on Harris makes his way to the 27 26. So again, three there and I think that surprise Temple. The surprise hurry up that Alabama has started to weave into their game plan. More is really they're using it to their advantage and a lot of times it ends up being on a second or third and short when they try to catch the defense in a substitution. But sometimes it's just Mack Jones looks to the sidelines and then he's like, all right, get up on the line of scrimmage, and they've gotta play ready and they snap it. Before the defense gets ready. 2nd and 7th 26 Smith stacked on top of a receiver to the left in front of Medici. Swing it screen four. Smith and Florida covers it well. Smith dives across the 25 to the 23 yard line. Another three are game 34, now for the Crimson Time already the fourth catch the game on four targets for Dante Smith and a lot of times balls, not drop it on the ground. We talked about back Jones 76.4% completion rate this year. He's been extremely accurate. Devante Smith is just not a guy that's going to drop many passes. Within 80 catches on the year 1300 yards and better than 3500 in his career, third and four for Alabama at the Florida 23 out of the shotgun, Jones steps to his right. He fires over the middle and that is intercepted by Florida coming near side left of the 25. The man who made the interception takes a huge hit and Alabama has recovered. Florida with the interception. Gators could not hold on to it. And so Alabama has recovered at the 30 yard line. And the floor..

"They go out and get the number one dual threat prospect in the country and Bryce Young and still, Mack Jones has, you know, he just kind of buckles up and says, Okay, I got it earned this job. S so you're right. It's a totally different mindset today that and it's so much harder today for coaches have to manage their rosters based on how willing and easy it is for kids now to transfer simply because they're not getting the playing time they expected early should the Heisman Trophy come down to the winner of Alabama, Florida? I think so. And you know, I still give the edge right now to Mack Jones. And it really for me, goes beyond just being tendon. Oh, and being the number one ranked team in the country, and obviously, Max put up Fantastic numbers, But then I really think if you've watched the games if you block if you watch Mack Jones play week in week out, he's just playing the position at a different level. It's not just accurate season, avoiding a avoiding interceptions. It's moving around the pocket. It says anticipation on throws. He's getting hit right in the chest. He's got guys in his lap, and it's not affecting his efficiency. I'm not saying that Jones is the NFL. Prospect that Trevor Laurence is by by no stretch, but I think you could make the argument that Jones is played better this year, and he's played more consistently. Certainly on a weekend week out basis. Kyle Trask is completely shouldered, not just the Florida Gator offense, but that entire team and for them to pull the upset against Florida. He's gonna He's gonna have to have another a plus type performance, but I think those two guys have sort of separated themselves for the rest of the pack is Jesse Palmer, ESPN college football analyst. But Mack Jones could be the Heisman Trophy winner. He's not the best player in his own team. Yeah. You could make the argument. Devante Smith. Yes, you could make. Yeah. I mean, there's a bunch of guys on defense that her good student Yeah, left tackle and leather. With its really good Nagy. Harris is leading the nation in rushing yards. That's that's the reality at It's the reality of Alabama. You probably could have said the same thing for Danny Werfel when he won the Heisman Trophy. It's Florida, and you probably could say the same thing. Maybe from that liner when he won the Heisman Trophy, USC Gino Children Yeah, thank you Can't door she was up for the Heisman Trophy as well. Like it is strange where Mack Jones might win it. But Devante Smith to me is the best player on that team. And Devante. Smith might not be the best receiver on that. Jalen Waddle. Maybe. Do you think he's better? Do you think he's better with me? He only played for gay and it seemed like he was catching a bubble screen and taking it 92,000 every day and the scary part of Obama's they might get him back in the plant. I don't know, like it would be funny to walk in that locker room and really bring a bunch of scouts and say, Okay, just just Look at this clutter and tell me who you think the best is because it Z that little lot of ways probably explains why they're the number one, Mack Jones told me said the hardest throw is when the receivers wide open So it's a former quarterback, too, and save it agreed. He said. Yes and saving, I think played one year of the position when he went to college, but Is that the hard throat Wide open done. Yeah, it's harder for Matt because I feel like it happens a lot Stark using Steve Sarkeesian, I mean, as an offensive coordinator, loves dialing up double moves and I don't think there's another receiving group in the country gets good at running them. Devante Smith catches at least one double Move TD a week, Jalen Model was doing it for John Matchy, the Canadian from Brampton, Ontario. Outside he's catching a post for a for a touchdown every week. So so Mack Jones has to deal with it more than a lot of other people, but as a quarterback when you're back there No, You're trying to play fast, and you're trying to get your read and take your steps and looked downfield, decipher, decipher the coverage and try to really quickly get a read on where your receiver is and where his body position is in relation to the closest defender to him. You look down there. You see that He's got him beat by 45 yards. And you tighten up. You think I got it? I got to make this perfect. And that's often times when it's tight coverage. That's when as a quarterback, you could really just let it rip, you know, throw a fastball without overthinking it, and so No For Matt Jones made maybe that makes this season even more impressive. He's made a lot of very tough, wide open throws this year. It's amazing. I left handicapped. What's going to happen this weekend? I'll give you just some of my thoughts or some of the information that I've gathered here. Notre Dame. What if Notre Dame would lose the way Alabama beat Texas A and M. Maybe I'm told by a source with the committee that they could they could lose their way out of the final four. If Clemson would lose a close game, they probably would still have a hard time staying in. But I don't believe that because they love those shiny objects they wanna have Trevor Laurence in there. And Florida and Florida beats Alabama Alabama We know is still staying in Cannes, Florida get in. So wherever you want to go with that, whatever topic you want to dive into, if you have, you know something To the contrary. So I would say Bam is a lot to be in. I think. With Florida losing jealous you last week in North Carolina, smashing Miami. I now think Notre Dame's and I kind of thought like you last week. I thought, well, if Notre Dame goes out to get blown out by Clemson, there's a possibility that they could get left out. You gotta remember in 2017 Georgia got beat by offering my thing was 23 points. They still got in his one last team I think with with Notre Dame's resume, UNC is a team that committee really likes. They certainly look great against Miami last week, and they've beaten Clemson already. I think you could take a one loss, Notre Dame resume and put it up against the six in Ohio State. Um or or even eight in one Texas, saying them who's best wind would be the Gators. Who, by the way after this weekend might be a three last team, Clemson if they lose the Notre Dame Clemson game to me is really the kind of the interesting story in this because If Notre Dame wins Clemson loses, you gotta to lost Clemson that's lost twice to the number two team in the country. What does that look like against, say, an 18 1, Texas A and M Clemson's resume If they lose wouldn't necessarily be great. Not just being a two lost team and we never sent to last team get in their best win is 18 Miami. There's only two teams on Clemson's schedule Pittsburgh and Boston College who currently have winning records outside of Miami, so it's not as strong as you potentially like..

"I mean, the kid's a giant. I mean, he's He's tall, Yes, speed, the arm strength, the accuracy. He's a hard worker. He's a great leader. When you talk to people inside that locker room, and you kind of see what he's done this offseason, just a leader of all coach football. I mean, he is the guy. Well, that was kind of leading the charge. I mean, that's that's something that's a huge plus from a quarterback, a guy that could be a lead. I mean, we look at Joe Burrow and in his leadership style, and now he really has taken over that Cincinnati being his locker room. I think Trevor's just like that people love him. People have to be around him. It's just infectious, and he's still in the fact that, like you said, he's sick sticks with a big arm can move. Really well. Ah, I I mean, I don't know what they're not so like when you watch his game and plus He's playing an assistant right now. That is very similar. It's what we're seeing on Sundays. I mean, they spread it out. More 11 personnel were Andrew Luck was an elite talent. There's no question about that. But Stanford system was, you know, and you look through the ball 20 times a game 24 times a game there in the I formation. They would just run, run, run, run, run action pass on, then go from there. Then he goes to the Colts and is a little bit. It was an adjustment for him where I guess that this game is now evolved. More of an 11 personal three receivers on the field, get a good A good A good athletic, tight and out there in a running back. That could be ah, dangerous weapon on the back to it as well. So he's a part of that offense at Clemson. I think his transition is going to be a little bit easier getting into the NFL, and he has all the tools so yes, I'm I'm all for this can't be the number one pick, but it has to be the right situation. I think it was. The New York teams has first pick I still think you got to give those guys a little bit more time to see where they could dio, you know, just like my Georgia team were just talking about. It's not always on the quarterback. There's a lot of other issues, including the coaching staff or one of those teams. That has me a little bit more worried about the quarterback, Actually, yeah, no, that makes that makes a lot of sense. But if you wanna stick with quarterback there's one I want to bring up were run up against a break. But I think this is interesting, because right now, how state how whatever reason they're still in the top two haven't played a game. Justin Fields is going to be one of those top quarterbacks taken. But a kid who would the kid who replaced to a tongue by low down in Alabama, Mack Jones. Now he's got a ton of talent around him and Waddle and Devante Smith and then the kid meets in the third. I mean, there just has noticed Judy and in Henry Rugs. So how good is he? Or is he just in the right system right now? Because I'm wondering Because he has a lot of confidence. You see him? Is he a player on Sundays? Um, yeah, I'm not gonna say I think so, because your boy could get that again. But he's good. I'm not going to say he's an elite first round second round draft pick. It is a little bit of a product of the guys around him. I mean, he has You talk about skill position, you know, you throw in dodgy hairstyles, running, dying as well. And I mean Nadia in the backfield is catching back shoulders on real stakes. I mean, the kid that so Josh Jones used to do right. Just take it. Take it from me. Just a confused to do that set, And then you throw in the fact that the best offensive line Ah and the SEC and maybe in all of college football, so Everything is for the kids have success. But he does take his hands off it. He does make all the throws. You wanted me not being on cross route post sprouts. Go balls, slants quick bubble that he needed. He could make everything you want. I mean, if you want to compare him to Justin Fields of Trevor Laurence, there is a gap of athleticism, arm talent, So I don't think he is. Like I said, he's gonna top two. Maybe sneak in the third or fourth row kind of guy. He's He's a great game changer, and he's like that he could make the throws. There's no question about that. He doesn't have that delete it read nous like those other two guys, So, yes, he can play on Sundays, but he's a little bit more of a project. Aaron Murray. Appreciate it, buddy. We gotta run. Thank you very much. Appreciate it. Guys. You get a good look at the little guy Little guy. Still three months old. He's deep in the weeds there teak game in three months that he's sleeping already. That's amazing. That's good for him. Let's get an update for Mac will come back. We'll get Mohr into the Clemson Miami game. The Kane seemed to be back. Not vintage Kane's back, but but back back enough where they're they're they're pretty legit. When they push Clemson and if you think they could push him, can they actually beat him? "You've got Alabama Alice you Texas A and M in Auburn. Albert had a big game. Today, Black people thought Kentucky was going to win that game. I think LF you step away back, so I even ate him. Not yet. I mean, I like Jimbo and eye, but he's he's had some defections. And I don't know if that was intentional. Like kids, you're not gonna play for me go someplace else type of defections. I think I gotta wait and see how Alabama place um and see what their core back Mack Jones looks like. I saw him play a couple of times last year and when to was hurt exactly at the Games, did those games And because of their weapons, you know Devante, Smith and Waddle. They have the wide receiving weapons and nauseous is still back. Now's a Harris. So you think they have reloaded at wide receiver? You know that they're going to miss Judy and rugs a pony. Let me tell you something. Um Devante Smith was the best of the group last year. I know that I know that rugs and Judy they were first round draft pigs and they're going to be impactful in the National Football League. Devante Smith was the kid that I saw making impact play every single time and when they needed a play is when they lost Sal issue. I'm sitting there going And they need a miracle that you know you got a seven yard touchdown, the devastation that right so they have the weapon in the weaponry and in jail, Waddell was return specials. He led the league college football and punt returns last year. He's just a clone of all those guys right? He was a year behind. They were all juniors. He was a sophomore is a year behind. But he says he's the same player. So they will continually re tool at wide receiver. The question will be what is Mack Jones provide and his defense term back to vintage Alabama defence, which we hadn't seen in a couple of years. Three minutes in Duke, three Virginia Nothing Tiki just to give you a heads up there on the cabin Later. First you feel bad. "Patriots. I Patriot dot com slash analytics dynasty. Where I do more like book centric work. I would say like it's more. It's all audio stuff. Most of its audio stuff. But I have like I don't have I don't have rankings per se because I think they're tough to they don't exactly convey what I'm trying to convey so I have something I call my dynasty tears which looks at players and groupings and looks players in different inaudible different of contexts to try and identify value on them. So you can find all that at my patriots side as well. Gotcha Yeah Adam Jokes here that I'm not much of a reader so maybe he should make an audio book to man so I didn't on that action I it's funny people have said that to me. They're like you should do an audio book. And I like I saw the actual editing process for the book is me sitting in a room with my editor and reading it aloud and I swear at like it's the worst thing that it's it's horrible like it's a horribly it's I mean I trust him and he's not like he's getting embarrassed me or anything but it is the most humiliating thing to have to read it out loud like. I'm horrible reading out loud so no one wants to listen to me. They were joking that I should get Morgan. Freeman into outside the That's hilarious you. Never know maybe for next year just an idea. Just floating out there I I think you know just answering those questions. Kinda Kinda give people an idea of what? You're doing the content. You're doing your you know the way you approached this stuff. Josh Inaugural Josh. A little more specific. I think he had a few questions about some of the stuff that you do specifically with the book in the end the podcasts whatnot but All at Josh into that. And then we'll go into some of the other segments. Do here on the podcast. So Josh Okay. Okay so the first thing I wanted to ask was is your. Your primary thing is warped. Right wins over. Replacement player is in the. When I I wrote the book I was interested in like. There's so many ways that you can look at identifying players and but I wanted like at one general currency so like a a running back. Twenty-three finish in a wide receiver. Twenty-three finish does things are different in terms of how we should think about them in the value of them. So I did create warped and I look at a lot of it through that. Lens like my a lot of the roster construction a lot of those things it is. It is based on warp which is wins over replacement player. And it just tells you how many how many wins a player will add over the replacement players during the first Thirteen weeks through the regular season of fantasy football. And then I have a I guess. A related thing which is called a warp which is war but factors in the the starter rate of players During the season and it gives you a little bit more indication of like the true value and however players like truly helping you During the season yeah. I think that's really interesting. So one thing I wanted to ask about war while there's do players maintain a war over a long period of time or is it just up and down year to year to year. Yeah I think it's positionally it's a little bit different and so like one thing that I think is is like pretty interesting in terms of consistency. Is I think. Kinda what you're getting at is consistent. Players are your ear And what you'll see is like receivers for example like the high end guys like they'll be consistent year-over-year Mike Evans or like Jarvis Landry. Those guys are almost plug and play like top. Twenty four receivers Almost at worst at this point in their career They have been at least. And but you'll see a lot of fluctuation week to week just because inherently the wide receiver position is a highly is highly influx Just because of targets and touchdown rate and all the things that go into scoring. It's just it's a high amount of volatility. Weak the weak so those guys have a lot of I would say generally consistent. You're every year but you'll see flood fluctuation week-to-week Running backs it's you. Tend to get the like the part of this draft. That's really compelling to me is you'RE GONNA get guys at like twenty one years old that are coming in that are going to be not necessarily round one. Maybe you'll one that'll sneak in around one but you're going to get multiple cracks in round two of the NFL draft at guys that are going to that. Data can be twenty one year old rookies with really good profiles in like the war. The warp implications of those especially in the rookie draft context is just pretty massive in terms. Of what you can do in fantasy so yeah I mean it. The different positions have different tracks in terms of warp. It it'll fluctuate ear but But yeah I mean like there will be different. I guess I would say a different age curb in terms of how players or increase or anything like that by position. Okay that's that makes sense to me then. So you touched on this already but a base rate is is that sort of like a player's chance of hitting exactly what it is and it's based on so. I talk in the book about like the base rate of a player and I wanted to know like in the first book I looked a lot like. Hey you know. Wide Receiver third-round wide receiver like twenty three percent of the time I think is what the number is and so I wanted to know like all right well so it was like the first book that I wrote and then as I started thinking about it more I said well what as as we a year goes by without them hitting. What's that mean are how does how does that rate moves And then you know two years go by three years go by so you sort of look at those and it will sort of it'll change. It'll obviously go down The more time that goes by without hitting your your base rate or your hit rate goes down And it but the fascinating part is that it's different by position it's really different by pedigree so you'll see different positions and indifferent and different NFL draft pedigrees will will change how players perform. Okay so I gotta I gotta ask says if a player goes deep into their career before they finally hit does that. What's the density of that hit? Yeah so the funny part is like there's not a ton of like there's not a ton of guys that hit outside of your five devante Parker's yeah so devante. Parker is a fascinating one like devante. Parker is the first wide receiver and I went back to two thousand so the first the first wide receiver this century that was drafted in the first round the NFL draft. That missed the first four years of his career and then hit near five. It's the first time that's ever happened. you've seen a couple of guys do that in your four And so you'll see guys that missed the first three years and hitting your four. Those guys were historically Peter. Work Michael Crabtree. But after year three first round wide receivers don't hit that often right there spent. I think three them. Now that have done it So that's a really like that's a pretty cautionary tale book is like You know Mike Williams or Corey Davis or Like we'll fuller those types of guys. It's pretty cautionary about about what Sir track might be in their career. But we don't have a ton of sample and you'll see like there'll be a massive out like for example. Alex Smith like hitting. Your thirteen was the first time he hit For a season. So you don't really see a ton of hits outside of like initial hits outside. Lick your five But yeah they just have lesser time to be dance six years and you hit you just have lesser opportunity. Be Dense than guys that hit at twenty one twenty two years old. Okay for May that clears up like what your work is quite a bit. Yeah we just created the audiobook. Congratulations right now. We just audio book recording on you. Buddy we'll be producing that for you next year now like that. Sorry as cool so like I said I mean it just kind of gives you the background because there's a lot that goes into your work you know you got the book. You got the podcast. I feel like it's always fair that when the guests comes on some people just jumped straight into things and I think it's important for the guests to kind of you know understand their work where they're coming from where they're where they're creating value at so she's a point. That's why you know felt you know it was good to go over all that kind of stuff with you. What we're GONNA do now is we're going to jump into some of the The normal segment that we do on the show. The first one is trust issues For anyone WHO's not familiar with trust issues basically We have players or situations or You know kind of multiple choice things here of things that are going on our players that are going on and I'm going to just see how much we trust the situation. Basically so if you trust it a lot you know. There's no trust issues if you're concerned about it. You don't feel great about something. You KINDA WANNA back off of and there's just trust issues with it. so The first one we have here is Super Athletic College under producers drafted in the second round becoming a wide receiver one We're looking at guys like term McLaren. Deebo SAMUEL WE'LL Jordan start. You know you have trust issues with guys like these or do you. Trust THEM. Generally speaking so pedigree. Nfl draft pedigree. Such a huge deal in terms of looking at looking at wide receivers in particular. Like so you have to be really really selective day. Two guys And you know you'll you'll see about twenty five percent of them will hit But you have to be really you don't want to be in on a lot of these guys typically And so as a rule I almost fade them until they et Just because just because the hit rates are so low once they once they. It's a little bit different in terms of how I treat them But yeah guys like Terry maclaurin. I think you can sell I think you can kind of sell him Pretty I think you could sell him high at this point right now. I don't. I don't love the the long-term profile Deebo Samuel similarly situated. I mean he's He would be a player that I would probably be willing to move on. I didn't love the profile coming in as a twenty three year old rookie so You know I would probably be willing to to you. Know if you're getting twenty four. Adp Return on. That would be born to move off of that right now as interesting. I know the guys here are big fans of both those guys And Josh specifically we depot right Josh. So how'd you feel about what you were just with diva? It hurts me a little bit. I guess I guess it goes to the conversation about how much year one. Nfl production matters yet. So here's if there was if I was going to sort of go the flip side of that has sort of arguing against myself If you if there's a wide receiver on day two that has day to the NFL draft around to around three that produces a wide receiver. Three finish so between wide receiver twenty-five wide receiver thirty six and their rookie year. Historically they have one hundred percent hit rate of producing a top twenty four season at some point later in their career. So guys like guys like deebo would check that box terry. Maclaurin except box Sodas decay metcalf and so I think if you sort of were to take the opposite end of that like I think. That's a pretty good. The sample sizes huge. But I think that would be the You know where I would look to say..
