"Because Galarraga Amando got cheated out of one for the Detroit Tigers. I'm sorry. I'm easy. I'm riffing here. I'm sorry, gang. You know, he joins Cone Wells and Don Larson as the fourth Yankee and now the Yankees at four of the 24 no hitters in history and another interesting tidbit. Domingo Hermon became the first Dominican pitcher to ever throw a perfect game. Wait, just to make clear, perfect game means no walks either, right? No man on base, no, nothing. Nobody got nobody got to face at all. Anyway, on the lineup today, we're speaking with NFL great Super Bowl champion and brilliant friend of the show. We have some good friends here. We do. We have high places. I mean, that's right, Mike. The former MVP and sports commentator will give us his viewpoints on this upcoming NFL season, the sale of his former team, the now Washington commanders and who he thinks is the best pure passer in the history of football. And speaking of friends of the show later I on, speak with next in sports host Jason Kelly and Vanessa Perdomo. We talk about the most extreme 20 seconds in sports world chase tag. It is that straight ahead on the Bloomberg Business of sports show. But first, man, you talk about buying those tickets to your favorite artist. I'm not going to mention any names just yet, but you'll find out soon. Stu Halberg knows he's the CEO of Logitech you and are all in this business. First of all, Stu, thank you so much for joining us on the Bloomberg Business of Sports. Awesome to talk to you guys. Appreciate you having me. Wow, so all this about ticketing right now, I mean, you know, we've gone through all of this, you know, Ticketmaster and then they've been through the ringer and the prices and things like that. You know, then the fees come in and it's like, minute, wait a I didn't expect a fee for sneakers and all the other stuff. Tell us about that. How has the industry changed or evolving, let's put it that way. The industry actually hasn't evolved as much as the mechanism by which people can communicate and math has so things like social media, right? You know, we talked about Taylor Swift, the vocal few. I mean, when's the last time something as recreational as ticketing has made it up to public policy, Capitol Hill, but fascinated to see that the digitization think that the education of ticketing has, I think, made things more transparent in some ways and less transparent than some others. It's admittedly not one of my favorite topics to talk about because I think there's a lot of people in DC and other areas be who can spending their time doing much more productive things than poking around the ticketing that said, I get it, right? My favorite passion piece about ticketing is that it's just something that people are so emotional and also irrational about, and it makes for fun fodder, so excited to talk to you guys about it. Let's talk about dynamic pricing, where ticket prices can drift up or down, but usually up, based on demand. Taylor Swift is someone who doesn't engage in dynamic pricing, but first of all, explain how that's evolved because it makes sense in principle but it's gotten a little bit out of control. Uh, it has. We have a a ton of data that says actually the vast majority of dynamic pricing is prices down, and we have software that dynamically prices tickets. work We with a lot of vendors. More than two -thirds of our price changes, whether they are done programmatically through production or manually are actually priced down. It's the ones like the Taylor Swift and the Bruce Springsteen that really catches the attention of people. So I do think there is a myth there that end pricing has a ton of value. It actually brings live events to a much more affordable place to a lot of people. We've seen this really interesting kind of theme even before the pandemic where the high demand events are just becoming so much bigger and the low demand events are just becoming in such lower demand. And I think the willingness of participants, what we call them rights holders, whether that's team, a an artist, or a venue, their willingness to actually more reflectively price their tickets to the true demand has been something interesting to watch. Let's do affordability aside, and you said it so many times just now, the importance of adding the data to make your decisions when it comes to dynamic pricing, or quite frankly, when it comes to ticket pricing anyway, what makes Taylor Swift so interesting and an unusual move for your industry is they are not reporting their nightly grosses to billboard box score. Now talk to me about data and the access to it, and then how maybe not having access that data to in certain instances will impact what your business is doing. Yeah, and I think I mentioned it earlier, it. Thank you. That's a really good way and so I think that's been fascinating to watch. I don't think it's important with respect to data and ticket pricing is to understand really the ecosystem and differentiation between the primary and secondary market where the primary is obviously the unique ticket or exclusive ticket or for the venue they set their prices. Yes, they are dynamically pricing tickets, but I think the general fan thinks of that as inventory being broadcast by the artists themselves versus the secondary market which has all these negative connotations to it broker scalper. That ecosystem seems a little bit more arm's length from the artists, but one of the that areas we play in is both in primary and secondary, but specifically with the secondary market. Why that's so fascinating is it's ecosystem. an It's much more hyper dynamic than the primary. You've got an ecosystem of hundreds of buyers and sellers making exciting decision whether that's to change prices and to buy which actually is more reflective

"Pick last year, shortstop named Zach nido, who made it to double a in his draft year and hit three 20, he could make an impact maybe at shortstop in the second half. Yeah, that might be one where if you're working in that front office, you know that the best time to have traded Otani was probably last July. Right. That's when you're going to get the best value and now it's close enough and ohtani is almost going to make it impossible for them to trade him because I think he's going to be so great this year. And the team is going to be good enough and you're going to wind up really ohtani is going to walk away as a free agent potentially and all you're going to get back is draft pick compensation. Really? A buster. How far back would they have to be on July 31st for them to consider trading him? Okay, and I'm saying this only because, you know, I've heard the stories about already Moreno in terms of how he feels about midseason trades and how he just doesn't, you know, that's not something that he would necessarily be into. I think they might have to be eliminated, Dave. Which obviously they're not going to be. I mean, more seriously, ten games under 500. But I mean, imagine all that would have to go wrong for the angels to be that far back. Right. Especially with the, you know, with the additional playoff team, you gotta be really bad. Really? By that, you know, like, you know, Detroit tigers bad, you know, and the angels, I'm with you. I don't see how they're going to be that bad and just a few months. And here's the other part of that too, Artie Moreno, he might feel like, you know what? I'd rather just wait for a tonny to walk away as a free agent as opposed to me trading him and essentially making it clear the world look he's not coming back. Right, you know? It's like breaking up. With a girlfriend, you feel like you want the other person to make that move, right? Or you want to make the move, but somehow or another, it's got to be, I think, from Artie Moreno's perspective, he doesn't want to have that on his hands. Does that make sense? It makes sense. And look, even if their odds of reciting him are 2% or 3%, well, that's a small glimmer of hope that maybe somehow you can convince him to come back to Anaheim. And you don't want to give that up by trading him. And oh, by the way, that's kind of how we view the angels when ohtani became available. Like they were the 2% or 3% team and that's where he chose, right? Yeah. Yeah, look, we know the Dodgers are probably you guys talked about this a little on Monday. You know, the Dodgers are saving up and the mets, who knows how much they'll give them. But you don't want to just say goodbye by trading him in the middle of the season. Right, exactly. All right, Dave, good to talk with you. All right, buster.

"Are all the physicals the same is it like a standard physical and baseball or is the San Francisco Giants physical different than Stephen Cohen physical. You must have supersonic hearing because we were just talking about that in the newsroom is like, okay, well, did the giant see something that the mets didn't see? When it comes to the, you know, is there anything wrong with that? Cohen's physical with me is, can we get a beverage at the Carlisle? It's bar. That's the physical. Here's some ESPN reporting with creus deal, the mets have committed more than $800 million to free agents this off season and their competitive balance tax payroll now projects to be approximately 300. Is anyone ever does? I have never heard not to this. I mean, it's bigger than the Dodgers a couple years ago. They took what was his name from the Red Sox. The fourth and final threshold of the luxury tax commonly referred to as the steep coat tax sits at $293 million for the 2023 season. I mean, it's just the money here, Tom. I think for the league is every league owner is waking up this morning and saying, the world's changed. Can I compete? Well, there are obviously owners that can. Yankees owner, Dodgers, yeah, but if you're like, the Detroit tigers is like, oh, man, we gotta say. That's a lot of pizzas. Yeah. We got some a lot of pizza for that. I wouldn't be surprised if there's gonna be a meeting after this. Yeah, well, just try to get me tickets for the mets this year. I tried last year. I couldn't even get the ticket. Stay with us. "And I said, hey, fellas, my parents live about 8 minutes from here. We could settle this. The reason I said that was because I was fully aware that both and sons and the Detroit tigers have an entire floor. At whatever hotel they're staying at to do whatever the fuck they want to do. So there was no reason to come to my parents house. It was complete fake hospitality. And so they all turned around and looked at me and said, fuck yeah. Let's go to your parents house and play beer Pong. Yeah. And that's when I went, oh, shit. 'cause it is now 2 o'clock on a Sunday Night. Technically Monday morning. My parents are not gypsies, all right? They have real jobs with real responsibilities, and that shoots about to start in about 6 hours. What am I gonna do? I can't look at these guys and be like, you guys. My parents. Right? So I just said, fuck it. Let's roll the dice. See what happens. So we start to leave a bar. As we do, my sister texted me 'cause she was also in town. She said, hey, I'm out and about. If you get home before I do, will you walk my dog? And I texted back unless you're out and about with the goddamn Dave Matthews band. You better get your fucking ass home. 'cause shit's about to go down at mon pause house. So at two 30 on a Sunday Night, me, my sister, and about 12 dudes rolling in my parents basement and start throwing beer Pong and let me tell you shit, got weird. Weirder than I've already described, like my sister who's 30 ended up in her prom dress. I don't know. I don't know how that happened. God bless her for being able to fit in it, but also the fuck. All right. About three 30, I decided to go out and smoke some weed. Ampersand sons come with me. But as it was the middle of the baseball season, the Detroit tigers could not partake, so they had to pretend like it was the playoffs. And watch. So we come back in from smoking weed, and my dad stands there and he's pissed. Like, what's up, dad? And he's like, the fuck's going on down here. I go, well, this is Anne's sons. Of mumford and sons. And this is half the Detroit tigers bullpen. And we're playing beer Pong. And it was in that moment that I realized my father was no longer sure if he was actually awake. You gotta look at it from dad's point of view. He walks downstairs in the middle of the night, sees a bunch of weird dudes and he kind of recognizes and my sister's in her prom dress. Shit's weird. And dad's confused as shit. He's just like, I don't. Is that Justin Verlander? Yes, sir it is. Well, then I don't know what the fuck's going on right now. He walked upstairs. That was the last I ever saw of him. Not ever, just that night. That would have been a weird. That's a dark turn to that story. That would have been funny if he just was like, you know what? I'm just fucking leaving the whole family. After this thing. Home next day, I'm freaking the fuck out. My parents have done a lot for me over time. I don't need to be pissing them off over some bullshit. So when my dad came home, I was completely prepared to take him out to dinner, buy him some drinks, make amends for the evening previous. I wasn't till my dad walked in the door like he'd had the greatest goddamn day of his life. He walked in like, what's up, everybody? How you doing? How you doing? All right. I go the fuck happened to you today. You stopped. He goes, I fucking hated you this morning. He said, I woke up on about four hours sleep. Cursed your name all the way to work. But then I got to work, and everyone started asking me why I look so tired and exhausted. So I started bitching about my son bringing home the Detroit tigers and mumford and sons and playing beer Pong all night. And now I'm the coolest motherfucker in the office. Listen, dot FM. Because I want to know from now and I saw one for the first time this summer. All right, I hooked up with a French guy. I didn't even know he was French. I was wasted 'cause I love fun. And oh, and that accent does not do it for me at all. You know the French accent is a guy. It makes my vagina shut like a steel trap. I mean, thank God I've got that other home, but. Already in the back. This French guy, you don't know. It was so sensual. We were like kissing and he started to pick me up, you know, and then he gave up right away. This is French. Walked off. But we are, you know, we're making out. And I'm classy and you can tell, so out comes a stick, and I'm like, what the fuck is that? Like, are we having a pillow sight? What? Why is there a condom under the condom? Do I have to know him from travel hosting your underpants? And but I'm a team player, right? So I'm just like fighting through the dragon slayer. They're all the skins. I felt like a magician with the scarves. I'm like. I thought a dove was gonna hit me in the face. They did. It did. Good. This French guy. I really did. I thought he was like really hot that day. I thought he looked like the dude from Twilight. Went to space, Robert Pattinson, right? In the morning, I was like, you look like fucking governor Patterson. Like what? Happened here. He was blind to black. I'm like, do I have sickle cell? I know that joke's not for everybody. But neither is sickle cell. No. I'm not racist, you guys. I'm really not. My roommate's Asian. I think.

". The All-Star Game will stop. Over what happened last night with the Detroit tigers. Yes. He will be 40 years old. I believe in April of next year, and mister Cabrera stole third base. Yes. Yes. And basically won the game for his Detroit tigers. There's a reason why he is on my screen saver because I love that guy. I think he's one of, in terms of Detroit tigers, yes, I know you think of Al Kline and you think of Mickey lolli and all that, but in terms of Tiger Tiger, I think of. But what's important here is to me stealing third base is an art. Yeah. Second base gets all attention. Yeah. But explain to catchers with a right handed batter that catches got to throw to third base through the batter. That's right. That's right. And the batter isn't exactly going to say, oh, okay, let me get out of the way. You don't get out of the way, and this is practice. People practice. Making the throw down there and it's some fancy guy who won the 50 yard dash. And that's not my goal. No, it's not the deal. There's a reason why he plays first base. Just put it that way. "From the Bloomberg interactive broker studios this is global news 24 hours a day on air and on Bloomberg quicktake. Powered by more than 2700 journalists and analysts more than a 120 countries Michael Barr and this is Bloomberg Tom creek. And the Phoenix is out there, Michael, bar the low today 90, and that's the heart of the matter is the doctors will tell you it's the cooling factor at night that's absolutely critical and a grant at Phoenix mostly AC, but still as you move away from where that heat is. This is terrible. It's apparently Texas dodged a bullet because yesterday they said, look, ergot, the power company. Yeah, we were talking about that earlier. Yeah, keep it too late. Paying attention. Because whatever you say. You're gonna hang on every word pretty goofy. I gotta talk about my youth where literally I remember folks begging my grandparents when my parents dumped me in the summer with my grandparents. It's an original idea. Can I please, please, please stay up for the home render. Please, please, please. Black and white TV, Dizzy Dean, whatever it was. And now we're here. And what I did notice Bloomberg business sports, the ratings for the All-Star Game are an unmitigated disaster. I mean, basically, is it safe to say no one cares? Yeah. I want to I'll say that. I mean, look, I think people like the home run Derby part of it and stuff like that. But it's not like it used to be. It's not like it used to be. Why? Because you have to remember back in the day when you used to watch baseball, you usually got if I'm a Detroit fan, the Detroit tigers, and any visiting team that came into Detroit. Okay, I'll catch Herman killer brew or whoever coming in. Unless you had the weekly game of the week, whatever. Now you can get any game you want. Demand. So it's not like, you know, oh my goodness, you know. Play and all that. Yeah. It's not unique anymore to see so and so, you know, on the tube. So why do I want to go see it? Do you described in mister Lonzo of the mets is out doing car commercials I saw now. We're very busy. Do you ascribe to the idea that the Homer and Derby, some of these guys work at it so hard to get hurt? I've seen a lot of guys, yeah. Because I've seen a lot of guys in a work it and work it and work it, then they come back and all of a sudden we got an oblique strain or something. And I see this happen a lot. What are your thoughts? On the Detroit tigers? No one's in Derby and people getting hurt. Oh, wow. You know, I wish I had any thoughts. I'm still catching up on Detroit tigers. There's a lot of ketchup. The Detroit tigers have an all star? That's a little. Well, yeah. It was a low blow. It's gonna darken the door. Yeah, I hope I believe so, mister brujos. Okay. "It's tough. It's tough down here. And we need strong representation in Richmond. More than just about any other area of the state in my opinion, just because of the nature of the economy in southwest Virginia, the changing nature of the economy. So you'll really soon whether I'm going to whether I'm going to toss my hat back into that particular ring. I saw your responses to a local paper disorder maybe when it's TV stations questionnaire on it. And your thoughts on broadband and your thoughts on the opioid crisis. So we're very well thought out and very well, well, articulated. And so you've clearly thought about the issues. You know what's facing the folks of southwest Virginia? And I know that you'd be a great advocate. I followed your career for years, and I know the type of person you are. So if you do run, please let me know. I'm very interested in learning more for sure. And then if you're in the campaign, let's chat. If I get into it, people are going to know pretty short order. We'll say that. Sounds good here. But the other thing that I've followed and I've been very interested in and I'm extremely jealous of to be quite honest and quite frankly, the only reason I'm jealous is because I haven't started doing it myself. You are a writer for the Cincinnati magazine. Covering the Cincinnati reds, which is, I don't know. I don't know how congratulatory I should be here. But I would be trying to write about the Detroit tigers. So I understand where the passion lies, which is great. What's Bernie? Obviously, I mean my goodness. You're a judge. You know, Carlos attorney, father, involved in the community, doing all sorts of things. Baseball to me has always been like it's a hobby. I enjoy it. I watched it on TV. I listened to it on the radio, et cetera, but it's kind of like my go to escape. I don't escape to writing about the ins and outs of baseball. Why is that cathartic for you? Well, the truth of the matter is that, you know, when I became a judge when I was appointed to the bench, I had been for the last few years I had been writing quite a bit about politics. I mean, you know, I was, that was sort of my hobby, quote unquote. You know, a situation where I had generally I was staying up later than the rest of my family went to bed relatively early, and so that was kind of my time to myself was to write and I would write about politics. When I became a judge, obviously, judges are not permitted to comment about publicly about politics or not right about politics. And so I had to give that up. And I knew that was part of the deal. And I knew that I would probably miss the writing part of it because it was kind of cathartic for me. I enjoy writing. Always have. And so I just kind of shift shifted gears and moved into baseball because that was my other big passion. You know, outside of obviously outside of family and plenty of and the law, you know, but politics and baseball had been kind of my twin passions, I guess. And so I just started writing about them. Just kind of randomly and they kind of took off pretty quickly and I started to sort of a website and within a couple years I was writing for a ESPN dot com, you know, and since I'm a magazine, but very kind to me for about the last 8 not about for the last 8 seasons I've been a weekly columnist writing about.

They could be number one overall pick bad. Which is good. You should hope for that because they're not a real class. So anyway, if you're going to play some verses this year, what squad might should go with? I feel like there's one sticking out in my head that's just gonna be actually two Colorado that are like really, really good. Going with Colorado. Yep. And that's probably a really good call. Them or the caps. If I had to. See, I wonder about the depth on the caps. Like they have really good high end talent. So the inverses you can keep your top line out for a long time. But I wonder those other times, I feel like Toronto is going to be very good again online. Just because they have stars. Tampa Bay as well. You know, Tampa Bay. And Edmonton. I mean, you've got dry sidle and McDavid on the same squad. So there's a lot there. Everything else is a little on the, you know, not so great side. Defense and goal tonight. But it's not awful either. They were pretty decent team last year. I don't know. I mean, it's hard to say, though. Because all they played was Canadian teams and it's hard to know until they get back to the normal schedule. Anyway, Charles coming soon. Middle of October. So it will be here right before the NHL season starts. It's like a day or two, I think, prior to the start of the season. But the ratings are starting to come so we continue to watch for those. We'll have them on our site as well. So generous transfer stock comp to keep up with the latest there. All right, so last thing news this week I want to talk about, sticking with the sports team again, as we got to the end of the show, 7th inning ticked off yesterday. And we're to the point now we're all the bosses are 99s. So it's just a matter of finding what really works well for you to target once you hit that 350 K but this time around once you have 350 K, you've got the choice of Spencer tourism, third base prospect, high draft pick for the Detroit tigers. The 99 overall Hank Aaron, which I know is a lot of people in the community just really excited. And finally, I don't know Tony Gwynn. All here, the, as you mentioned, like contacts and power numbers and it'll be a super important. And I was hanging there pretty ridiculous. So that's pretty awesome. Any of these stand out here? I mean, they're all 99, so they're all super good with when you're getting the contact with air and you're kind of getting everything. And if I remember right, not looking at it in front of me here..

"Nice test against Toronto. I'm not going to think that the White Sox don't have as good of a shot. To win the World Series. If they don't do well against Toronto, like they didn't do well against the Yankees. The Yankees just got swept by the Red Sox Yankee Stadium, like stuff happens. The Padres just got swept by the Cubs at Wrigley. Now, things can totally turn around that rotation when you're going, ro, don, When you're going Lin when you're going Giolito when you're going kaiko when you can throw co pack If Dylan sees could face the Detroit Tigers every single start, you'll take it, but that's why they're great. And that's why I can't look at the Cubs and say Yes, you gotta hold on. Even if they're only three or four. Why do I also have this feeling that sports? At least an immediate run has taken a turn. And I don't know that Major league baseball is even a good It's not a good Example of this, But I've got this feeling We saw it in the NBA this year, and a lot of it had to do with the amount of miles and the tires for guys because of how the season was disrupted by Covid. Where I felt and we talked about this a bunch. The first half of the NBA season this year was ho hum that we all knew that the better teams would come to play in the second half of the season. There was some fatigue issues earlier in the year. I just get this this feeling that like you mentioned the Yankees and I guess to a certain degree this happens every year. But the better teams will in fact distinguished themselves in the second half of the season that every team now But I get the feeling that in the world of sports coming out of the Covid pandemic are going through it that there is a greater emphasis placed on the second half of the season, especially with better teams. Don't make any. Yeah, I mean, last year, it was a sprint to write, like Is that what you're measuring it against the 60 game schedule? Yes, yes, of course. An and guys who slump like they did last year have enough games to work their way out of the slump. Yes, And there was pressure on or we only have 60 games. What am I going to do to get out of the slump, And sometimes that made Some of those slumps Worse, right, And there was no energy from anybody in the crowd and everything like that. And now we're seeing the opposite happened. We're seeing crowds build. We're seeing energy growing. In all these different ballpark. Think just for whatever reason, and maybe this is an irrational perspective. But I've just got a feeling in sports and this here and now moment that there is a second half mentality. That we are conserving at times. To be prepared for the sprint. I don't know that that will be the case. I think the football season will be different this year as well with 17, especially. Yes, I just I get The whole concept now of of of minutes limits. And, you know, keeping something in the reserve tank. For whatever reason, I feel like it's it's a more relevant issue in the world of sports now than it has been in the past. It's like And again the NBA maybe a difficult analogy because of how that whole season was was affected by Covid. But you look at the next What do we finding out the postseason with the NBA? The talent the cream rises to the top like fibs, has this group working every single day for the entirety of the regular season? Once you get to the second half of the season. Things change and you get to the postseason. And then that's really where talents establish its dominance over these other teams that work hard and work well together. Yes, yes. So you're saying that's a long way of saying You think the Cubs are going to continue to sort of play mediocre baseball after the really good start? I think it's a better way of thinking that just yes, that may be the perspective of sports teams now is we're not going to get hot and bothered by things that happened in the first half. Of the season. We're not going to be overly concerned by it. We're really going to hit the gas when we hit The second half. The Brewers have done that a couple of years in the central, right right August in September, where that you counted them out. Then they hit the gas, and then they went, Um all right, So I think that's where that's where sports teams to find themselves Now more than ever before. All right, I've got the the audio from an NFL insider. What does he believe? When it comes to the Dalton promise this, Andy Dalton promised. MLB Spring training: A Look At the Detroit Tigers

"Innovative and all that I do think there's a chance of the Tigers offense could be better than people expect. And certainly the pitching staff could get to that point as well with all the young arms that they have. The problem is, I think they're very clearly the fifth place team in that division, so a lot of teams will take liberties with them will take advantage of them and also to keep in mind as you're watching spring training as you're kind of looking at these stats and the numbers and all of that. They're using a different baseball right now, then they will be using during the regular season and I don't know why Major League Baseball has not supplied those baseballs to the pictures for everyone to get used to them, but You know, we're also going to see Cold Weather games, which we didn't see last year early on in the season, so I think everybody offensively will be in for a rude awakening and the Tigers, probably to a higher degree. All right, So let me ask you, how does it happen when you have a Tiger's team and McGee Cabrera is still there, But when you have guys, I mean that line if they had just just a few years back Was like, ridiculous and you're going like this team. You know, they just need to, you know, sort of, and Verlander is still there And then all of a sudden now you look at that lineup and you look at the depth chart You like. Who are these guys? And they look, I know there's young prospects was always prospects, You know, cause you're trading away and you're dumping salary. I mean, Look, the Yankees are paying that luxury tax every year. I mean, they're going to make sure that they have their guys. It's It's tough for me to look at the Detroit franchise to where, you know. Pause. The mascot, maybe the best hitter on the team. It's one of those things where Mike Village in the Tigers were close, and Ellis was getting older. He knew this health was starting to fail all that he was going to stop at nothing to try and win a World Series with that team. And he had the right GM to do it. And Dave Dombrowski, whose very happy to spend a lot of the owner's money and then go somewhere else, So that was kind of the situation that happened there in Detroit was Village spent and spent and spent to try and get that world. Syria's before he passed away and it didn't happen. And then when his son took over the team, it was okay. We've got some really bad contracts that we need to unload. We either have to, you know, hope that we can jump in a time machine and fast forward things or make trades like the Verlander trade. You know, like getting rid of J. D. Martinez. Some of these guys that were very high priced players that were probably starting to reach the aging curve, starting to reach that point where they were going to start to decline a little bit faster. So that's just kind of what happened with the Tigers. And you know al Avila, whose the GM now came out and basically said, Look, We're not spending any money this year because we shouldn't we don't need to. We're planning our next year, so the Tigers probably will get that payroll back up. But hopefully it's it's smarter spending than

Let's see a game up on the Minnesota twins who have figured things out and are now in second place in that. Leaves the Cleveland Indians losers of six straight all the way down to third place at twenty and twenty one and four and a half games out. So so the Indians have gone from first place in the division arguably the team to beat in the American League two. Now, a wildcard team outside of the top two in the division and four and a half games out just that quickly I mean, don't you know six in a row and when the white sox are winning four that's at least. Four Games in the last four days and with a deficit of four and a half, it's gone from a half a game to four and a half year. By the time Friday rolled around you have the Detroit Tigers at twenty and twenty six, and then the Kansas City royals at twenty and twenty eight. Neither of them are atrocious baseball teams, which honestly is a bit better than I had anticipated for both of them but neither of them are going to be infecting the playoff picture with their presence. Where do we go here? The Chicago White SOx thirty and sixteen winners of four, straight eight and two in their last ten they swept the Tigers this past weekend. Let's take a look at their scheduled down the stretch here. See who they have coming up. They have four with the Minnesota twins who I just spoke about being a game back. So this'll be a fantastic series between the white. SOX and the twins it'll be in Minnesota Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday some fantastic pitching matchups in those. Then they travel to Cincinnati to Cleveland and retell her for return home ver-. CHICAGO. So the white sox tough schedule down the stretch with clubs over five hundred and then the reds mixed in there. So we'll see if they can continue to play quality baseball they continue to be led by Jose Abreu. He's crushing the Baseball fifteen home runs. Forty eight RB is Tim Anderson is currently your Major League leader. In batting average, he'd be your batting champion at three, sixty two. If he qualifies in Thirty six games, one, hundred, fifty, two are bats I think he has just qualified fine when it comes to that statistic on the pitching side of things Lucas g Alito. Continues to pitch well, Dallas Kaikal not a lot of people talking about it but six in two two, one, nine era talk about a successful year Then you got mad foster coming out of the bullpen with a one three, one era so Chicago a well rounded team they were my surprise bic in the American league at least they got the memo because. My Cincinnati reds on the other side will get to them but they still haven't figured things out sell but hey, one or two in regards to surprise picks. So the summer I'll take that absolutely. Did I think they'd be a first place team I didn't think the white sox will be a first place team but I certainly thought they were good enough to. Make the wild card and make the playoffs. Now we're talking standard one, sixty, two, five teams but yeah, certainly a pleasant surprise on the south side of the windy city.

He drove in seven runs and scored five. That combination is a first in White Sox history. Jim Anderson also had himself a forehead night in the victory. The White Sox maintaining a one game lead on the Twins for first place in the American League Central Whiteside's go for the sweep of the Tigers later on this afternoon pregame coming away at 12 35.
