"It's five o'clock somewhere to Yeah. Uh, yeah. Hey, I've got a number of concerns. Um, number one. I don't believe that there is any effectiveness to it. And part of the reason is that, uh, the numbers just don't add up as far as where the ratio of people you're having getting the shots versus the Potential of winning probably the majority of the people that signed up Were people that already had shots when you look at the million minutes signed up. But secondly, I think there was a lot of Paul Sabra ties Ng When they promoted that they were giving $50,000 a day away. Because on for the only persons that are eligible for that $50,000 a day are those that get the shots that day. There wasn't the way it was presented when people you know when it first came out. So I think that there's there's a lot of negativism. And once you start with false advertising that way people get discouraged and they're not going to hear the snow anxiousness to sign up for it. Yeah, and and I don't know if false advertising is the best term. It certainly was incomplete information. I remember that. They said that at the time because I listen to the full news conference, But you know what? That's not. You're right. That message did not get through in terms of those daily prizes. Um And so I I don't think there was an intent to mislead there. But just like everything about this rollout. It just seems sort of haphazard, and I don't want to throw any shade on the the folks admire or the other sponsors the folks of the Chamber small business administration. I think all of them are of the mind that, Hey, this is worth trying, because what's worked? What? What's what's going on now isn't working. We need to have those numbers higher. Um, but it is interesting that it hasn't even apparently move the needle a little bit. Deal. Thanks for the call. We appreciate it. 1 808 5909571 808 59. Zero wjr and how unfair to those that got, you know that took a risk by getting an untried vaccine before December. 1st, Um, you know, I can understand they needed to cut the line somewhere. But, boy, those people are heroes in my book for taking in his yet unapproved. Vaccine. They should be included, especially those that were in the trial. I'm willing to give them the peace prize of the Nobel Prize for medicine because they rolled up their sleeves when things weren't so sure. We've got another interesting development and get back to your calls in just a few minutes, But, uh, in just the past 48 hours, we've had two more freeway shootings. And these are a little bit different than the ones we saw before we turn to senior news analyst Lloyd Jackson with more on that high, Lloyd, Are you doing a guy? Yeah, As you said, uh, seems like they're moving into the suburbs. Michigan State police investigating a shooting involving a semi truck on I 75 that happened this morning. That's when both he and his passenger were taken into custody. Troopers closed part of 94 between 11 and 12. For shell casings. I. as in the Friday afternoon show Jerry bought in to host the program today so glad you're coming along this thing could be great weekend weather wise I think a bit on the cool side with sunny skies generally nice and dry gonna be fine especially Sunday sounds good perfect day for Polly fry noted is palace over there in in Cedarburg will be there will be the fry out meets did your honor on a seventy degree of five thirty in the afternoon Sunday afternoon revisor Meyer really my years good good good meat I've never set foot in my area for some reason I don't know why there's there's one relatively close to me interesting your steak guy they'll realize yet delicious fence not bad you can it navigate all of the the marbled fat in those revised pretty well yeah are you just out of the whole thing down do you see it is a big fork fulls of just fast going on Paul's gullet you know I look too quick footnotes on this whole to phone the police and the unrest in the riding the looting in that sort of thing for us all yeah we all look I'm so sick of sales we peacefully protest yes it's America if you want to peacefully protest great go up walk up and down the street say your peace disorderly fashion don't disturb the peace but but get your message out nobody has any problem with that it's when you start riding looting setting things on fire to stealing those sorts of things that's when people have a problem with I know some alleged officials in places where there was riding on the weather was looting he came out with the the the general statement of I you know what it's just property property that can be fixed property can be restored your lives are more important than property it's just property it can be to restore can be rebuilt that's true you can but will it let's say you own a business in Minneapolis in the part of the city that was destroyed by looting and fire that built that your business was destroyed do you rebuild that store in the same place when nine of thirteen Minneapolis alderman say that they will revoke that vote to fund the police department are you inclined to do that I think you should be completed to do that let me offer you I'm old enough to know all of these things I remember nineteen sixty seven I was ten years old X. as nine years old but I remember the the so called race riots that we're in big cities all over America ineffective in LA it was the summer before his nineteen sixty six and what's highly of condensed African American population in Watson circumstances there initially were not good in the summer of nineteen sixty seven it was I believe Baltimore Newark for sure Detroit in Milwaukee not sure what Chicago perhaps don't remember that but Detroit was especially bad they had four consecutive nights of extreme violence and a lot of property destruction lots of property destruction things literally burned to the ground the city of Detroit fire department so many fires going at one time they were just overwhelmed the just in the other the equipment of the personnel or the to to be able to put out thirty fires as you would call blue blazing at the same moment in time there's a lesson to be learned from Detroit I can't remember his nineteen eighty four eighty five but I have reason to go to Detroit and as part of what I was up to their we were driving through a friend of mine and and I driving through a certain part of the city and Paul it was like the moon there was block after block after after block after block of vacant lots and gravel and and stuff off your cyclone fenced off and just I mean you could look into it does this part of the city and you see you know a couple of blocks with some buildings but but between you and that was seven or eight vacant blocks of nothing and a third person that was with us who is from the area we asked you what what's going on here why in this part of the city we have all this I mean his role in vacant lots and the guys who was from the riots so there's been a rise you know because the the nineteen sixty seven rights like really you almost twenty years later nobody's rebuilt anything here and he said well they basically a lot of businesses instead of taking the insurance money that they had and rebuilding the rebuild suppose also is sent in bulldozers and level of stuff is a bunch of burned out buildings that they leveled and in some cases they hold the roll away in some cases the other rebel still is in this lot after deal nearly two decades the lesson of Detroit is six and by the way this hampered the economic status of Detroit for years that this decrepit downtown area that all this empty space and nobody wanted to to establish a business down there because it looked awful as an eyesore there's a lesson there for all of you people that want to set you know Seattle or Minneapolis or Memphis or wherever on fire and have those businesses burn don't be surprised five ten twenty years later when those businesses haven't come back and the negative implications for the people that right will pause talk about jobs yeah that well that's what I was talking about Detroit and and it was sort of a vicious cycle nobody wanted to build in these areas because of such an eyesore and that meant no jobs for the people that live in those neighborhoods and jobs were desperately needed their not a good situation Detroit sixty seven should be a lesson with regard to how people in the end will act in their own best interests one other quick note here before we get to some news I want a little bit about the democratic convention in Milwaukee it has to question whether or not recent protests and looting and riding by America's political left should have is taking a second look at whether or not it's a good idea to have the democratic convention in Milwaukee doesn't it seem more likely now that the Democrats will have a live was a live in person convention at least at some level now that the protests have destroyed any pretense of not gathering in large crowd crowds due to covert nineteen that pretense is gone well you know we can have a live convention because of the coronavirus yeah I said weeks of protest were thousands of people right on top of one another you can see no problem with that you know why haven't ten thousand people in the it Fiserv for would be troubling after that that doesn't make any sense the anti cop faction of the extremist left is not just something that follows the Democrat party it is a wing of the Democrat party regardless of how much party bosses deny that the purveyors of violence and mayhem is an ancillary part of the extreme is left at the fire and all the rest that faction we'll have some level of presence at any democratic convention in Milwaukee or elsewhere for the foreseeable future do we want that in Milwaukee and better yet if we think that there's going to be this unsavory violent element that sort of like an offshoot a wing of the Democrat party what are we what what's the plan to control it who's going to head up the effort to control it Tom Barrett Tony Evers if having the convention here given the fellow travelers of the Democrats is a violent faction and to follow or any to follow light or like what's the plan if they decide to engage in in property violence or outdoor violence against individuals who's in charge of Tampa that down I think that's a question that needs to be answered for the city of Milwaukee allows us to go forward he we made jokes awhile back about your would be the ultimate irony of if there was riding the streets during the.
