"What do you think about it? Here's the thing. The thing is is that I just can't imagine that like Blake lively and late miester. Like just like come back and like just pick up where they left off. And just feel like they're both over it. Right. And like late mecer on a sitcom now playing a mom, right? And it's just like yelling me. Sure screwed and really like take off per se after gossip girl, but I still think that she's like just done being Waldorf. I'm sure if it s Zoar would jump at the opportunity, but I feel like what they might do is like a spin off type of gossip girl's new cast, which is like whatever. But I don't know. I just feel like it's not actually going to happen. Like, I just can't see it actually happening. Yeah. I don't want it to happen. Yeah. I don't want to have at all first of all. There hasn't been enough time between the I understand that everyone is all about reboot season now because we have no new, original ideas. So let's go back to some of the old successful ones. But it hasn't even been like ten years. So it would be like admitting that we should have never ended the show to begin with right till they wouldn't pick up where they left off because. Yes, Blair now, like thirty five years later is that how long it's been. And I don't think they could get the whole cast back. And we just be would be a sad version of perfect show. I couldn't agree more. But what I do think it's time for re reboot for is. Actually, I don't know how long it's been either. Oh, I'm totally wrong. But desperate housewives. I just need it. But I actually think ending, but they could bring back desperate house. Easy way. Like all they need is one or two of the women to to come back and live on the blonde. They just need them. Teri Hatcher to like have died have died. Yeah. And then like all the ladies comeback together. They're like so sad. And then that way Susan's out on the show any more. I think it's really they can also bring new house people move onto a new street all the time and also people leave the streets..

"Simple. If people are feeling good. They'll give you treat them like people. Right. And I'm sure I mean, all of us have had circumstances where that hasn't been. Just sort of a cog in this machine. It's hard to care about the thing. Those circumstances. I do have a question about taking your writers lunch. Writers are typically not at this table, certainly. But typically sort of introverted and quiet and one on one lunch might be difficult. Have you found that? I mean, you get a little weird and awkward because again like we don't. But you also realize I don't really know you. I hire you. You had a great meeting. I actually sit with you in the room everyday. But depending on how much you talk or how much I may not actually know about you. And so my thing was like I'm just going to ask questions that I don't know where you're from what your mom's name. I. Yeah. I, and I'm you know, I'd my my sweet spot of writing romantic. So I'm always like, so who you dating. Have you talk? Well, I went out with this guy. Over share when it comes to my love life. So that's always my go-to to just break the ice in a lot of people. Most of the time the talk, and you ask them about that make sense. Yeah. Alex, I was curious to hear about your time on desperate housewives. You wrote a lot of that show show. We had early on the podcast some of the desperate house. Highs writers, and it sounds like it was an unusual room that in that. It was so much group writing was that there was a lot riding. But one of the reasons that it was group writing was because Marc Cherry's background was actually sitcoms. And so when we started out he hired a lot of our long drama writers because it was an hour long drama show, and he didn't feel confident or comfortable, and he didn't know how to break those stories, and he wanted experienced people to kind of shore up thought his weaknesses were. And then we premiered to number one, and, you know, however, many bazillion million viewers, and then he was like, oh, I might actually know what I'm doing. And then. Hour long drama writers, kind of started to fall away and the sitcom people started to come in except for me, obviously, I've never worked on a sitcom. But and so then naturally the work environment change because because they they view scripts differently. Although we were doing some group writing right in the beginning. Because I remember the very first script I wrote I was in a in the writer's room, which at the time how to table that was a ping pong table where the nets. It was super and we were sitting there and it was four in the morning, and I was sitting there with Mark. And I'm thinking to myself because I had never done that before. And I was like when is this going to be over like, what are we gonna stop doing this? And I think I actually said in the politest way possible like so when are we going to be done, and he went when it's funny, and I was like. Like. Like, my car was in the shop, and I had like a rental car or something that I didn't really know how to drive at I driven stick for a while. So that I get on the one oh one at like five o'clock in the morning and the ramp to the four oh five was closed. Just driving toward Calabasas exhaust going. It really was it was a different experience. But..

I'm saying we're talking about a man with credits. We're talking about a guy really first of all before we even start this. I got started on again, this is like the third or fourth time. I've been I've been doing the red hill podcast so MCI was driving in. And we got let you guys know we have to parking lots here teams we have a front win. You're grateful was 'cause you working that's part of it. As part of only. But tell me why tell me some of the other reasons I love to ask to get this question answer from people, obviously, we know you from all kinds of different things. We know you from desperate housewives was really where you kinda got your breakout situation, you would say desperate housewives. Or would you say that it was I was shocked Laurie rogue before this housewives, but desperate house was it was the first time people saw where did you grow your own it all? In Baton Rouge where I'm from El Paso from Baton Rouge, by the way, they wouldn't let me work on glory road. I tried to come work on trying to get a job on the set can get a job or afraid you're gonna tell everybody off. No, I remember when it was shooting road because they shop part of like. Like. Right. So you like twelve no I'm thirty seven thirty eight. Yeah. Yeah. So the glow rose today's thirty talking about nineteen eighty man's a good year. It's a vintage. So all of that tell me why you're thankful while. You're grateful lights know what people are grateful for. The career you say is only one part of what what very very minor part of my my gratitude, actually, interesting my life. The fact that I mean, I know this with the fact that you can breathe and walk onto legs. And I have the consciousness to to be able to be grateful for things to me. That is that's why I wake up every morning. Long story short like I've been through a lot of things in my life. Where? I. Sideline twenty two thousand nine passed away. And whoa, I'd never heard this. What what's what was what was with that? I was on blow at the time or as your grandma calls eggs. My mother calls it a I have my own show on HBO, eggs eggs. Yeah.
