Because it was 230 million and now all of a sudden it's more expensive to resign your franchise quarterback. So the ravens can't go, well, you know, we criticize this. Here's $230 million for Lamar Jackson. So you have that aspect here. Now you're hearing, okay, if you had a problem with Lamar Jackson style, then move on from him. You drafted him because of the style he plays, let him play that way. It's like Cam Newton. I'm going to draft you. I'm going to play you until you can't play anymore. That's what you do. You draft Derrick Henry. Derrick Henry is not going to be Christian McCaffrey. He's not going to start tap dancing. Not taking on contact. This is who you drafted. You draft them and that's, you know, you rely on them to play that way. Now Lamar Jackson, do you want to give him $45 million guaranteed? Okay, he's banged up. Yes. That's the offense that you helped. You put that offense around him. And now what do you want him to be a pocket passer? It just feels odd there. Would I pay Lamar Jackson that kind of money? I wouldn't. If I can restart, what am I going to get? Can I get two first round picks? Can I restart? Are the ravens going to win anything any time soon? Could I franchise him? You know, same thing with Daniel Jones. Do I want him for 45 million? And I did have somebody with the NFL saying, don't get caught up in this $45 million. You bring up all the time. Because the salary cap is getting bigger. So 45 million, it's going to look like 35 million. I said that's still a lot of money. 35 million. But if you're going to give them 45 million, are you going to do that? And then hold your breath, Lamar Jackson, is he going to play safer? Different? With just odd there. And if I could get two first round picks for Lamar Jackson and I could get that from the jets, I would, you know, look at that. Because it's all about restarting your franchise. That's really what this comes down to. And if you can do it, if I can financially restart my franchise, then I'm going to do that. You know, the Bengals did it the right way. Got your burrow. They restarted their franchise. Yes. It took the Bengals like a dozen tries to get it right now. Yes, it did. So I mean, it sounds great where you're like, well, why don't we just get rid of them and get a new quarterback? We'll just do 'cause getting a new quarterback that's at an MVP level isn't actually that easy. Well, they also got the quarterback. They finally got a quarterback. So you can restart, but who of the Bengals really drafted? Go back to Carson Palmer, and he was a very good quarterback for them, but they've also had some bad draft picks there.

And that's the best part about when we get into the tournament, it's fun because they'll have markets like to make the sweet 16. And you can bet yes no, it's not just like yes markets like you can know you can fade teams not to get there. So that's a lot of fun. I can't wait to chop up that stuff like that's part of because pegging the team to win the tournament is tough, but you can find some good value in getting teams to make sweet 16. And when you look at Virginia tech and how they play defense pretty soft on the perimeter, so I think pit's going to just continue to have success there. Not only are they 9 and O against the spread on the road, but they beat the number of by an average of 10.8 points. So they've just been an excellent play and you look at Virginia tech, on the other side, the hokeys, not great against the spread at home, 8 and 6. So I think this is the perfect opportunity to take pit here to get a road win cover the number. Another game that I have my eyes on, Kansas and Baylor. It's relatively obvious. Number 9 Baylor at number 5 candy. Yeah, very much so. What is the current number now? Right now. Did we get the sex? We're sitting at four and a half. Now it's going the other way. Yeah, we got greedy. Kansas favored money line plus one 68 minus two O 5 Baylor is the one with the plus one 68 there and over under sitting at over one 48 and a half. The ones. Yeah. I think they can win the game out right now. Absolutely. I wanted 6. Hey, sometimes you lose. It's hard for me to be on Kansas this year. I probably have them like my two favorite Houston UCLA. And then after that, they would probably be in there with Alabama. Like, I think it gets some closer to the Alabama's than it does like, you know, I put them ahead of Purdue. I mean, you look at the other teams up there, but I kind of see it that way. I don't see they're quite yet there yet where I would put them with Houston and UCLA as far as just my preference and teams that I like. We talk about home first road. How about this stat? Self at Kansas since 2007 has only had one year where he's had multiple loss, multiple losses at home. He's two 92 and 16 in his career at fog Alan fieldhouse. In Kansas for the jayhawks. They have one loss at home this year. I mean, it's the odds are against Baylor, just for that. I mean, we talk about importance of home verse road, Kansas at home. And now they're, you know, they're locking horns here at 4 p.m. Eastern Time. So I think you take the points here just because it seems like a lot already bent down the four and a half. Yeah, out of the game I'm looking at is this game that on TV for us briefly. Villanova Yukon's women's basketball. Line is 5 for UConn. It was after that that the nets then finally issued their statements, the strongest one they had issued and issued the 5 game suspension, pending an apology. One thing I'm curious about is that what Kyrie Irving's apology did come late late last night, and I thought it was heartfelt. Listen, if people are already picking apart aspects of it, whether they thought it was insincere, whether they thought certain things were still too qualified, whether he still, because he still saying he doesn't disagree with everything in the movie. Now we're still left to wonder, okay, which parts do you agree with and which parts are you disavowing? All of that is fair, but I did think it was a heart failed apology. If people want to be cynical and say, well, it's only because now he's losing paychecks because of the suspension and he wants to get that cleared up fine. I get that too. I do wonder are the nets going to say the 5 game minimum is still the 5 game minimum or given that he has to apologize will they perhaps lessen that and allow him back sooner? Not the most important thing, but a detail that I'm curious about. At what point do they decide that he has made amends? But in the meantime, the anti definition. Sean marks, Sean marks spoke Desean Mark spoke on Friday and it sounds like while the apology was a step in the right direction for the nets. It wasn't enough. So the going out on this two game road trip, I'd be surprised if we saw Kyrie back before the end of this 5 game suspension. The question becomes can he do enough to satisfy the nets satisfied the league and get back with this team? And I don't know the answer to that at this point. Look, if I look at if past is prologue, Kyrie Irving will be allowed back because the nets have done nothing but enable him since he's been there. "Hello and welcome to a special edition of the MMP NFL podcast. I'm Gary bramley, and I'm Conrad. And Connor, we have gathered here to talk about the resolution. Perhaps final resolution. In the Desean Watson suspension saga, still an outstanding civil case, so that has to be taken care of. But as far as football is concerned, this seems to be settled or maybe not. We'll get to that in just a moment here. But let me lay out the terms first and then we'll open up the discussion here. So Watson has settled with the NFL Watson sort of represented by both the Players Association and his own camp, his own legal team and his agency. The terms are 11 games for the suspension, which would bring him back for a week 13 game against Houston. A $5 million fine, he is also to undergo mandatory counseling. Now, things got a little bit, I don't know, push back into a gray area because part of this was clearly based on the NFL's language in their press release based on Watson showing contrition. He had given an apology or what could loosely be termed an apology before their first preseason game. Last week, and as soon as word of settlement came out, he and his camp just sort of did the opposite of an apology, said he was innocent, said that the NFL was investigation was flawed and that judge Sue Robinson made a mistake and et cetera, et cetera. So what kind of door might this crack open as far as the terms of the settlement go? So, yeah, when you had mentioned that maybe we had reached a resolution, I wanted to jump in, had this not been serious subject matter, I might have jumped in with like a Lee corso, not so fast, my friend, right? Because I think if you read the language and just from talking to people yesterday, the NFL is appointing a behavioral expert to oversee this case. And the behavioral expert now is going to be charged with determining whether deshaun Watson has been rehabilitated in this time period. Over the next 11 weeks plus however much time. Now, I don't know. He has said he had said a couple of weeks ago that he was doing counseling through the browns. I don't know if that time is going to be included. I don't know if that, whatever he'd been doing in those counseling sessions, is going to be included in this new third party. It would seem whatever counseling he has already received with the browns has emboldened his stance that he did nothing wrong, so I don't know if the NFL wants to try a different person or a different avenue here.

Congressional Republicans are already pushing a nationwide abortion ban that would criminalize abortion in all 50 states. This is not about codifying roe V wade. Why? Because it nationalizes abortion for all 9 months of pregnancy. The bills do face long odds, though, in the 50 50 Senate. NFL quarterback Desean Watson is settling all sexual misconduct claims involving 30 massage therapists. He has long denied any wrongdoing, but could still face an NFL suspension. Global news 24 hours a day on air and on Bloomberg quicktake powered by more than 2700 journalists and analysts in more than a 120 countries. What's the truth? This is, you know, you're in somebody's head every day of their life, making it harder to get up and do what they have to do in the morning to exist. And I really, I really hope that that sets in for him at some point because that is just a, that's just a terrible thing. And I hope that I never had that, you know, even in some small insignificant way, never did something to somebody that created that kind of issue in their lives. But my God, you know, it's just, you know, and then to act, like you said, like the court case to act like we did it, you know? Victory. I'm right there wrong. It's never linear like that. So yeah, I mean, the hope is that there is some, you know, well crafted apology here, but I'm not holding out hope, you know? Like you said, this doesn't seem to be doesn't seem to be the avenue they're going down and we're not asking, you know, a lot of people are kind of folding this in for some reason with like, oh, cancel, they're canceling everybody and nobody's asking Desean Watson to go away and to never be able to earn a living again. You know, I think that we've proven through time that just eliminating someone from the NFL after an offense like this discourages women from reporting them anyway. And so what we need to do is we need to come up with a structure and I think the NFL is far from perfect, but they have been working on a structure where it's like, okay, at least some of the victims feel more comfortable coming forward that they won't ruin the player's career, like there is some kind of webbing that's being created here..

"I want to tell you about a man named Desean magre Every year Desean Maguire I bet you've never heard of Desean mcgree And it's by chance that I've heard of Mick Sean excuse me Desean Maguire 29 years old A black man working in Baltimore The man who worked on the front lines of preventing gun violence in Baltimore Maryland was shot and killed Last Wednesday night in a quadruple shooting on east monument street in the mid elderly park neighborhood Baltimore navy Deshawn McGregor 29 worked as a violence interrupter for safe streets It is the third member of the organization to be shot and killed in the last year Desean was passionate about his community and was working hard to make the community safer for his family friends and neighbors to make ward Vice president of strategic growth and community partnerships at living classrooms A nonprofit that operates two of the ten safe street sites in the city including make elderly park It was a sunny was a father he was a partner he was a brother he was a devoted and present father to his child This organization safe streets It's amazing how Black Lives Matter draws all this attention It's a violent bigoted anti semitic organization Founded by marxists who seek the overthrow of our country Who contribute nothing to these communities Nothing

"He's always scored. Like you go through his just look at his basketball reference. He's never been lower than 16.9 points a game. He had 23.6 in 2017. The point is, like, he, if he's going to play 30 minutes, he's going to score 1718 a game. So you have that. And then you have the pool piece. Now, you've covered pool for his whole career. He was a late first round pick, kind of a flyer. I didn't think this would turn into this where you're like, holy shit, when clay comes back, who's losing minutes, we can't take them from pool. So did you see this coming? I saw that he had the talent, right? Some of these guys. I mean, largely because of what the words needed. They don't have another guy who could, from the top of the key, make something happen. They just don't. It's very fun. That's their two creators. So you can see Jordan Poole. He's got some pando. He's got a nice little shot. It was deals terrible at first. His shot was terrible. He's done something at the shot that's decent. But now, there are some stretches where it's like, yo, they got another step. I didn't see that at all. Now, here goes some stretches where he's the complete opposite, right? He's the type, he'll chuck that 48 footer after he missed three in a row. It's like, wait a second, Jordan. That's what you do after you made three in a row. So he's got some JR Smith in them, right? But he can create off the dribble. He could get hot in the banner that Steph and clay can just not as efficiently. And he's a weapon. I don't think anybody saw this out of him. And crazy enough, it happened after he went to the G league. He got so to the G league, which was like this big working out and he comes back and he looks like a different player. He's been the Salvation for the worst kind of like draft process because they've had a lot of business. George pooh has emerged like, all right. Maybe the record isn't as bad as we thought. Well, they have last year, it was Steph didn't have a good game they lost. This year. This year's step side games when he didn't even shoot that well, and they were still winning by double digits because now they have three guys who can create something for themselves. Plus, draymond, who can create something for other people? She really had four either shooters, creators, playmakers, and then a 5th one clay comes back. And then all of these people they added who makes so much more sense for the team than last year did. The shocking one to me is Iguodala, 'cause I thought he was finished last year. He's just looking like he was done. That was it. It was over. He looked it, didn't he? Yeah. He just looks rejuvenated. He searched like Steve Kerr is always called of the adult in the room. And he still that dude. He's still the guy who's like, all right, things that I go on well, sub it Andre put the ball over his hands and he just calms everything down. He and draymond, they're like, they're like community college teachers who got some good students, right? Like, oh, we got some proteges here, right? We're excited about teacher. Jonathan could be good, Gary Payton a second. Kind of guys who are in their ill, right? Who think like them and what a mother and want to make plays or defense that are just eating everything they say. Just eating it up. It's a bit of a rejuvenation. You can see Azure. He's just so valuable. Steph loves having them. Draymond loves having them. Everybody loves Andre Ryan. I do think that has helped her. But I don't know why I don't know how he got more spring. I don't know, how he looks faster. This is watching him in Miami. He's like, yeah, he's 37. And he's such a physical freak. It was jarring to watch him at Miami. He is now a free agent set to sign free to sign with any team that he's so chooses. So first and foremost, I guess the main question is is do you like the idea of Desean Jackson coming here and being a New England patriot? And where do you fall on DJs? Yeah, I mean, I'm obviously I'm not getting my hopes up. I don't necessarily think they'll do it, you know, you say this to me all the time. They've had a million chances to quiet this guy and they've never done it. So he is kind of redundant to Nelson Aguilar. He's probably better, but I think they would see him as redundant. So, look, they did it, I'd be happy. I don't know where they get the money to do it. But he are actually no, because the rams are still on the hook for his contract, right? It's what he's. So his contract is now the Patriots are going to have to pay his entire salary if they do sign them. But the points he's already getting paid by the rams. So I would have to go look and see if he got any guaranteed money. I'm sure he did get some guaranteed money in that deal. So yeah, technically speaking he's already been paid for the season in a way. Yeah. I don't think it's going to happen as much as I want to see it as much as I'd be all for it. I think they have Nelson agglo in that role. But the NFL trade deadline has come and gone and despite what many people said and believed deshaun Watson did not get traded at the trade deadline. And so he's still a member of the Houston Texans. And no one made a move for him because the asking price was too high, given that his legal situation is still unclear. You're not going to give up three first round picks when you're not even sure if he's going to play for your football team. And this is why I want to talk about Sean Watson. There were all these trade rumors, and I think that they give a opportunity to provide a lesson for NFL football fans. And so I want people to, when you hear an NFL rumor, you have to ask yourself, who does this rumor benefit? Because somebody leaked it out to the media. They sent a text here, they sent a direct message there to let somebody who's got a platform, put it out to the world. And I felt like every rumor that I saw for about the last week. Was put out there by the Houston Texans to try to boost his trade value. Again, I saw there was this kind of thing going on behind the scenes where nobody was willing to give up very much for Desean Watson because again, it's too risky. What if you trade away three first round picks? And then he can never, ever play for your football team. So Texans, the Houston Texans obviously wanted a lot for him, but nobody was willing to give up very much to get him. And when I saw a rumor, for example, supposedly, the Carolina Panthers were offering running back, Christian McCaffrey and three first round picks. I saw that and I laughed and went that's a real, that's not a real rumor. And that trade was never on the table. It was clear to me Houston put that out there to try to drive Miami's price up. And apparently, then Carolina told Christian McCaffrey himself, they said, now that's not true. We never were going to consider trading you away. And so Miami was being manipulated by Houston, Houston's trying to put out to the world, hey, look what Carolina is willing to offer and they're like, hey, Miami..

"That, the Sean Watson requests a trade. It's been the biggest story of the late winter. Number one story in the NFL, it's been a standoff between the team and him naturally other teams pricked up their ears when a dynamic quarterback like Desean Watson wants to be out. I know the New York Jets were creaming in their pants because they need a quarterback and I don't think he ruled out New York. So they'd be amazing. So four lawsuits have been filed. That brings the total number of cases in the court system against Desean to 7. The last four accuses four 5 6 and 7 all obviously being called Jane Doe. They all make similar accusations to the previous accusers.
