Panthers' Matt Rhule Is Making a Bid for Best NFL Coach This Season

"I wanna talk about the best young coach football. And it's not necessarily sean mcveigh. It's clear that it's not only an indictment on the new york jets operation. But what you're seeing was sam darnold in the carolina. Panthers is pretty remarkable the knock on darnold out of college there to know with too comfortable wins but the knock on darnold out of college and i watched every snap was his accuracy issues. What does he completing now. Seventy percent of his throws. He doesn't make mistakes total composure. It would be easy to just say. This is an indictment on the jets but instead of just the negative side. Let's look realistically at the positive side. Not only has met rule made darnold more comfortable. This defense has twenty one quarterback hits and ten sacks in two games. What does that tell you. The culture of the carolina. Panthers is headed in the right direction. It also tells you. This is a remarkable stat on matt rule. The coach carolina going back to the beginning of last year. You will not believe this. Carolina leads the nfl with the fewest. Three and outs that with teddy bridgewater and start with. Sam darnold. nothing about that not mahomes. Not lamar jackson. Not tom brady. Not derek carr not matt ryan not russell wilson not aaron rodgers. No the fewest three and outs matt rule. Teddy bridgewater and sam darnold but this is a offensive line. That outside of right tackle graded poorly left. Tackle all the way to right guard. What matt rule is doing with this sub optimal often. It's of line. The scarce number of three out the revamping rebooting of sam darnold is really mind-blowing

What's nice to see you to a nice to see that emmy prominently placed behind right shoulder. I love it. i usually take it down. Because it's like a little distracting. But yeah i don't. I i got mine right there. I don't have any words of those. I'm gonna keep over there just to kind of you know not too many people those they're good look into. There's some there's some awards and some things that you're like album put doesn't away but these ones definitely should be on display and people know what they are when they see them. That's another thing. Yeah good like what's that crystal exactly exactly so kudos. Their season thirty man is about to kick off over on dancing with the stars. Some names are already starting to be announced who have who. Are you looking forward to seeing on the dance floor. Oh man i mean. I actually know a lot of the cast actually. I can't share it with you but But it's gonna be i would. I'm not just saying because we always say this every season it's good to be the best season but her but it really is going to be an incredible gas And i know this year. We have jobs iwo who who's an incredible dancer but she me dancing with a female partner. I wish the first for dancing with stars. You know two females. Nancy with each other Can really exciting for me. It's not really it's it's not surprising to me or It's quite common. Because you know. In england where i grew up where trained there are It's very normal for for drills to partner one another. They have competitions for all competitions and stuff so it's a pretty common thing So yeah. I'm looking forward to it though. I'm looking forward to seeing that on the show. How would you describe your judging style. My judging style. I try as best i can to give you know the best. 'cause obviously being a coach it hasn't been in the room teaching the celebrities My i always want to strike like giving them tips. They can actually apply not just of general like yeah be better do good one actually give specific things that i believe will help them improve It is really difficult though because it's live television and there's a very the time constraints so sometimes i go to say something. I have something you know that. I really believe will help them. And you know like two seconds and it was great time or exactly but But my i would say. I'm fair i would say that i'm real. It's be hard. I feel like it by heart. I mean just honest 'cause he care yet i generally do. I really want the non succeed. I want them to do good. So yeah being a dancer yourself of course in and a competitor does it bother you when some of the better dancers get voted off early. And you're stuck with the ones that are wack because it bothers the vr. I know you think it's a shame honestly like at the end of the day you know. It's up to the viewers. it's up to the public at home. Who stays right We can we can certainly try guiding as far as you know saying i hope you make it to the end or go you know. Go far or make the next week But yeah it can be frustrating. Sometimes when somebody who's really talented really good Gets knocked out early. But that's the thing the dancing is is only a part of the show You know it's really about the connecting in connecting with the people home connecting to your partner. The you know the packages the talking live on air. All of that you know plays into so and and that's what you see a lot too. Is you see people who have these big names who come on the show and they get all the press beginning. They get all the hype they get all the buzz and then there's some other cast members you're like i've never even heard of that is i don't know if that's from And sometimes those people who are really the biggest names who end up you know winning over the audience a lot so they don't really have any preconceived notion going into it so it'll be interesting. Yeah it always is You're part of this new podcast series equal to achieving disability equality This has to do with the paralympics. Correct yes yes. So it's a six part series A bic out on all the on the podcast platforms. Obviously dancing with amy purdy. Who is apparently being an extraordinary woman who You know for us on our journey dancing. The stars was just a incredible. You know she's a perfect person. Who sort of embodies that would apply isn't happening to you. It's happening for you. You know she really embodied that she lost her legs as nineteen was a medalists in the in the olympics paralympics as a snowboarder and of course a dancer she. We figured it out on the dance floor. There's no handbook. there's no rulebook. There's no no references to us. We just had a figure it out right and she did an exceptional job. So this podcast is it's It's different things in different focuses that focuses on as far as equality. You know for people you know because abilities in just understanding learning stories as well you know so. It's a it's a great pockets. Yeah man that's inspiring good for you. Talk about your vegas residency. That's about to kick off. Derek off no limit. Where can we see it and tell us what's in store when people check it out. Yeah it's it's going to be at the venetian hotel or venetian resort hotel. Say in las vegas and it's September twenty second to november twenty first. Derek Jeter Is Intrinsic to the Story of Baseball

"Era, baseball is a story, beginning to end. You can not tell the story of a baseball that Derek Jeter's extremely meaningful contributions. He owns signature moment after a signature moment. If you're not a fan of the Yankees, I understand why you wouldn't want to watch them again. I don't want to watch David Ortiz's home runs, but Derek Jeter is intrinsic to the fabric of the game from 1995 to roughly 2012. He deserves to be celebrated. He would be and I'm gonna go one, I'm gonna go one more here. People say Jeter wouldn't be celebrating the same manner if he played in Kansas City or Milwaukee. I'm gonna go another level and say he would be much more celebrated if he'd played against the city or Milwaukee and was just as great. Do you see what they say about George Brett? He is the leader of an entire generation of fans for the entire Midwest. People think George Bret is unimpeachably a God. If they're generated play one of these small cities and won one to two World Series surrounded by good teams in these tinier baseball towns, he would be he would be the first 101 percenter Hall of Famer. He suffers from being a Yankee because people have Yankee fatigue. That's my hottest take it and I'm putting that on you. Do you agree or disagree? I agree with CCC Matthew played a half season with the brewers and he's still a legend there. Like he's gonna get a statue. Yeah. Oscar Valdez Allowed To Fight Despite Testing Positive For Banned Substance

"Got some serious business to discuss with the wbz basically allowing oscar valdez to go forward with this fight after a blatant violation. Not even show where we begin with this if you have a problem with some of the substances on the list that time to get those substances removed as before you're fighter test positive for them not after the fact and then allow them to fight anyway. Oscar valdez convicted of having some kind of stimulant of banned stimulant in his system. Which if you're struggling to make weight and now you can make it a little bit easier on yourself while your opponent kills himself to make weight. That's a huge advantage. No gray area about it. Diane to hear your take on this but bad bad. Look for the wbz to let this fight. Continue to go on as scheduled. I don't lean collapsed. When did they have a good look. Really i mean when when does this Become all news because it is old news with one thing or another with these organizations. This time it happens to be the wbz but does it matter. Which is what it is that useless. I mean except not to take money from the fighters in all. They know how to take those sanctions. She said that they're damn good. That believe me there would be. Where Does Derek Brunson Go From Here?

"Let's talk about dark brunson because he looked great. He dominates he submits darren till in the third round. He's now won five in a row. He's tear it up. And in the contextual sense. He has absolutely done enough to earn a title. Shot in fact. I will strongly argue. He is more deserving title. Shot than marvin vittori was when he got the title shot. Robert whitaker is next. Brunson could easily wait for a title shot. He could be a backup. He could be replacement fighter for that fight or he could go ahead and just take another fight. So where does derek brunson go from. Another dominant win. I'll be shocked if he's not at least slotted in as a reserve for the Sonya you would occur rematch when whenever that happens and it's not. It hasn't been book yet. We're all thinking early. Twenty twenty two. I'm sure brunson will be ready by then. I'm sure he's staying in shape. He's aware of the possibility. I know we said on another show recently. That fighters shouldn't take reserve opportunities. But i mean. I think they should if they're only if they're guaranteed show money and win money. It brunson gets that guarantee. I know that's not gonna happen. That's not how the ucf works. I think they might get their show money usually because they show up and they weigh in. So that's the minimum. You should also get your win money. I want that to be a policy in the usa going forward. And that's the case. Brunson one hundred percent. Be ready for that spot. He's he's definitely earned that for me. If he can wait. I wanna see him weight. This ideal situation that sonya and whitaker shah you're february the late and then And then we you know maybe brunson can get in there. I guess it would be may probably may or april which seems like a long time but if you can wait that long. That's how i would do it. I he deserves tell shot he should notify anyone else. Yeah i mean. I think he's absolutely unequivocally in the driver's seat for the next in line. Spot behind whittaker it's oughta sonya whitaker brunson then cannon air in my eyes and if i'm derek brunson like you said there's nothing more you need to do your next fight should be for the belt and you hope that robert whitaker doesn't beat israel ottesen it because then there's going to be a trilogy fight yada yada. Yada canadair needs brunson to solidify title. Shot brunson does not need cannon air to solidify his in my eyes for the sake of check the tapes and all that the ufc will probably make the fight between brunson and cannon air possibly put it on the same card is out of sonya whitaker. So that's why pick.

And at that point, the judge doesn't roll call for Easter asking each teacher if that was indeed their verdict, Juror number two. Are these your true and correct verdicts? Yes. Your number nine. Are these your true and correct verdicts? Yes. Your number 19. Are these your true and correct verdicts? Yes. Juror number 27. Are these your true and correct verdicts? Yes. All 12 of them agree that he asked them all one final time together. These your verdicts will save you one. So say you all. Yeah. And at that point, you know the judge. Thanks then, And then we're back. Looking at Derek Children. It's completely expressionless. Bail is revoked. Bond is just charged and the defendant is remanded to the custody of the Hennepin County Sheriff. Did. The judge instructs the deputies to take him into custody. Children just get some kind of knots to the judge, like okay, puts his hands behind his back, gets handcuffed. Returned exchanges a brief word with his lawyer, and then he's taken away to the back and the door is closed..

"Just present a different perspective. And i would say i don't know if the right word is role model but i think Hopefully somebody out there will see this movie and you know think of a guy that looks like me a little differently. Not just like a or a yeah. We're we're bankers. Were lawyers were people who join the military where people who want to serve our country. That's right. I think that's that's really what it's all about. I think that's why movies are so powerful. Why why. I'm here and on a personal note two of my nieces or half chinese. So it's in my family so you know they're my brother's kids and i love him dearly and So i wanna see that represented for them to and and for me so It's kind of a selfish reason. But but you know you you you learn a you of my brother marrying a wonderful chinese lady. I mean she was grew up here and everything but in the states. But you know we got exposed to things we wouldn't have been exposed to and And my family. I think richer for it. Yeah you know. There's a line in the movie. That michael doran says that i wrote. It's in protecting the ones you love. The world can be stronger and I love that. I don't know i'm going to be selfish and say i love what i wrote there and hearing him say. Hey we're all selfish. We're all biased. Sure that's that's my take know you're gonna you're gonna have preferences that's totally fine but i think you know we don't. That's okay we have. We should embrace our differences absolutely absolutely and do a for do for you. You don't you don't have to do it for anybody else. Know what you don't owe anything. Danny nobody does anything to anybody. If it makes you feel good if if if you know if it's gonna protect the ones you love it's going to help them then why not. It's easy it's easy to be. Nice yes it is it is. It's easier to be nice. It's it's painful to be angry. Yeah oh yeah absolutely it. There's more work to be angry than than to be nice. Well you know. sometimes you have that experience anyway. People at all they're gone in part because of the hopeful nature of genes vision but also because of its message of diversity and inclusion. I tony tomato here and we have today dairy ting and he has a film agent revelation and not only did he write and directed is also in the film and plays the lead. Welcome derrick From hong kong. Thank you how you doing. Good good you know derek it. It's hard enough to write and direct something but to be in it wearing all those hats and being in the film. What was that like for you. Oh it's it's interesting because there's definitely pluses and minuses. Yeah obviously. I don't go back to my trailer after shot has done that's true or lack thereof trailer keeps going. It's like a marathon. I'd say we do twelve hour days. Which is very typical in the industry. I do not go over twelve hours by the way. So you're always on your feet. You're walking a lot. Just going the set was was pretty big as well so a lot of back and forth and then the physical part scissors action. It's exhausting so just get there. We'd set up and we'd shoot all day. And then at the end of the day i would just crash and this went on for about a month and at the end of it i was like. Oh my gosh. i'm so so tired and pretty much. Just veg for like the next two or three months. Don't blame me. I don't blame you at all. So the plot is i'm looking at imdb just to paraphrase. That's that's what this is. "Welcome to the Derek Hunter Show Derek is taking off this weekend. I am Pat McDonough and I will be filling in for Derek. And there is so much in the news, of course. Which we will cover. And we welcome your phone calls today at 4 10 92 to 66 80 or 1 809 2 to 66 80. Freedom kind of an important word kind of an important concept. What is America or what would America be without freedom? And would you agree with me that we are losing our freedom? You know when I look back, and I think that we have as much freedom today as we had just saved Five years ago. How about a year ago? For the pandemic. If there has been one significant overwhelming. Attack on freedom. It has been the pandemic itself, but more so than the pandemic. The so called leaders, our leaders. In this country. In this case, the ones we elected representatives and then around the world, But in this country, the ones we elect are supposed to work for us. Like Governor Hogan and Johnny Olszewski and others. How have they performed during this pandemic? When you compare their performance. To freedom. It's pretty clear In my opinion, they have no respect for freedom. It's all about shutting down freedom. It's all about shutting down people. You don't have the right to go to church. You don't have the right to go to a restaurant, destroying the economy, the jobs and the business. That's what the leaders have given us, though they say it's all about science that science but no, it's not. Science, facts and relationship to restaurants don't indicate like the mayor of Baltimore City. I'm sorry. The new mayor of Baltimore City he white at this point in time unless he proves otherwise. Would never call the leader. He shut down his entire city. His city was already Pretty much destroyed and shut down and he made it worse. Is an elected representative of the people supposed to make things worse. Well, he did. He's a guy that claims well. He wants to take care of the disadvantaged. He wants to take care of minorities. He's a big supporter of black lives matter. What about the thousands of young black men and women who lost their jobs in Baltimore City as a result of him, closing down all of those businesses? Those young people who worked as servers. And other positions in the restaurant industry. What about them? Don't they matter? That was a reckless, steer responsible thing for that mayor to do, And that's what he did his first day on the job. So where are Politicians when it comes to freedom. They're not doing a very good job. They're showing us that they don't have respect for freedom. You know, In some cases, it's not really just what they're doing and taking advantage of this pandemic to demonstrate their power over us. Look at the education system. Specially higher education the universities in the colleges Where the freedom of speech is being destroyed. Freedom of speech no longer exists. You know if you're not politically correct, and you're not woke, whatever that means, right? Guess what? You don't get to speak. And not only that, but the students on that campus don't have the opportunity and the freedom to hear you and your opinion. It's another attack on freedom. Then you look at K through 12. Right here in Baltimore County and other places. It's not only attack on freedom. In the school system. It's an attack on the freedom. To be taught and educated. With honest history of the United States. Because you're being taught a phony history, you'll be taught being thought of black lives matter Version of history. You're being misled, Misinform brainwashed inculcated with hatred. That's an attack on freedom. Do I have to say anything about religion and faith and freedom? Where's the freedom? Practice your faith. These churches are being shut down. These pastors are being fined. I know of a couple churches personally, a couple of congregations that have been fine and I know one in particular that has already going to court and won the case. Now you're starting to see in the restaurant business. You are starting to see the restaurant's standing up. And we will hopefully have James King with us this week. Who is standing up as a freedom fighter. You know when I see these parents marching and protest Ng in Baltimore County And other places because they want their Children to have access to a free And true education. They want reopening. It's their tax dollars our tax dollars paying for Schools to be shut down. They were freedom fighters. Just like the restaurant and small business owners are freedom fighters. And who are we fighting? We're fighting Governor Hogan. We're fighting Johnny Olsavsky. We're fighting against the people. Like Mayor Scott In Baltimore City who were supposed to represent us And we need to now fight them to keep the jobs alive to keep the educational life. I mean, these young people that go into the school systems, their percentage of the cove. It I don't know less than 1%. In fact, she's saying closed the doors. He's another guy. He's been as bad as the pandemic, even though he's a hero among those who want to have the lockdowns the clothes down to the overpowering the destruction of freedom. He's their hero. But he's not a hero. He's talking about. We're not going to be free of this pandemic till the fall. Why are we not going to be free when we have the vaccines? Get them out there. Get them done. Get them, mate. Don't send them to Europe or Pakistan Take care, as the president used to say. Of America first. 80% of the people suffering and dying are the elderly. Are they receiving? The vaccine was supposed to Being held up. Why? So Freedom in America has been under attack and what I say to that is this. In order to bring it back. In order to restore The freedom we had. We deserve this country. That's what this country's all about. That's what the revolution was all about. That is what the Constitution and the bill of rights are all about. And we cannot tolerate the idea that we will accept our loss of freedom. And we also at the same time cannot take for granted our freedom. You know, we take for granted. A lot of people take for granted their freedom like oxygen. Oh, it's there, isn't it? Isn't it there? So you know why worry about it? No. No. We've got to embrace our freedom. We've got to fight for our freedom. We've got to have a new freedom movement in America. That's what I'm getting to We need to come off of this pandemic. With the new Freedom Movement in America..

"Prepared a free special report entitled The Six Things You must know before you buy because having the right information it could either make or break your chances of being successful in today's market. So then tell us what What type of information have you been able to put together? Well, they're one of the things that the report goes into is the number of questions that you should be asking yourself before you commit to a certain type of mortgage. You know questions Like how long you think you're gonna own the home with direction are interest rates going? What are some of the economic indicators? You should be paying attention to to make sure you're you know you're watching it and how things are changing. And when you have the answers to these questions and other questions, you'll be able to determine the best mortgage that you should be looking at. Especially in today's current market, where things are kind of crazy. You've got to be prepared to go into back out off with it with a powerful weapon and not a butter knife. Because inventory is so tight, you have to have every advantage when competing against other buyers. Being armed with the right information is going to allow you to ask tough questions and really have your your best chance of getting your dream home that that you've been thinking about, And I said ah few weeks ago that it deserves repeating for all the buyers out there that may have given up because inventory is tight, or they decided to hold off. I say, don't give up. You know there's a lot of opportunities out there and and building well for your family. Should not be content should not be put off and we can definitely help. But I know it's been a tough real estate market, but it sounds like you have ways to give someone an advantage. Yeah, definitely Derek and the report could help you get a free copy. "Welcome back to the program. Ladies and gentlemen, I am Derek Hunter. This is the Derek Hunter show looking at the news there. Oh, by the way, the number would be a part of it. 410 wcbm, 6 80 or 100 Wcbm 6 80. Joe Biden. They're expecting some announcements to supposed to be tomorrow. But who knows? Um Joe Biden is expected to announce the guy and Antony. There's no H in his name. So I assume Antony Antony Blinken. Blinking. Sounds like a misspelling to be his secretary of state. I love all his wars he was in the Obama administration. And we'll carry out. It's amazing to me. That the left is going so berserk over foreign policy in this England Donald Trump's was such a horrible foreign policy president. It's really terrible what he did. We're gonna have to restore The U. S the image abroad. We must do that. What is the image abroad? We have been bombing people, but in bomb a wedding when bombed Americans, both things that Barack Obama did. What we did do what he did do what Donald Trump did is what none of them thought was possible. He brokered peace between Israel and a bunch of its neighbors. In a way that Woz scoffed at by the so called experts who I imagine include Mr Blinken. But it was a new approach. Smart new approach. Hey, hey, if the Palestinians are not willing to Negotiate in good faith. Why should we waste our time negotiating with the Palestinians? Let's cut them out of the process. Now Palestinians are jumping around going. Wait a second. We need to be in this process. Yeah. The whole process was about you for decades, and it got nowhere. Had pretty much everything you wanted handed to you on a silver platter on multiple occasions..

"I'm Derek hunter this is Derek hello it's one thing if they left our little friends over there on the left and I'm not talking about their physical size just the size of their brains are scrambling to try and turned good news and bad news why because any good news helps orange man bad and therefore that news must be quashed it must be destroyed it must be a breeze Spahn the jobs report is out pretty big is actually a drop in the unemployment rate fake news it should be cause for celebration and people are people are scratching their heads going with three and a half million Joe how is this even possible how is this even put it can't be possible we just had to were million people yesterday reported is filing first time unemployment claims well first of all their different numbers this is the next okay this is let me just explain this is the net total for the previous month so we a you can have just using round numbers you can have five million people file for unemployment over the course of a month and have ten million people get jobs so you have a net gain of five million jobs right see that's that's what was reported today relative to what was reported yesterday that's the difference that's how it works out this is the net in those numbers that were released every Thursday about the previous week's job employment claims filing there's nothing about people dropping off unemployment finding jobs now where are these jobs all states are re opening states have been re opening businesses have been re opening all sorts of things have been happening it is numbers these numbers are more of a testament to just how awful our media is that this could have been going on under the radar and not be picked up by anybody right then enter tell you you you're only really find what you're looking for and if you only want bad news the only find bad news you don't pay attention to what else was going on the unemployment rate dropped not the way it dropped a lot during the Obama administration largely at the beginning of the Obama administration but still at many points throughout it where people stopped looking for jobs the the way the government calculates the unemployment rate is so screwed up is that what who constitutes being unemployed if you are on unemployment for six months you count as unemployed if you still haven't found a job but your unemployment benefits run out and you've given up all hope of looking for work commute not even bothering you no longer count as in the unemployment rate which is completely screwed up so the way that they're calculating this is accurate they just the numbers we've seen every Thursday of this month and every Thursday I've ever are different numbers they you shouldn't say well there's two million two million two million they should be eight million new unemployed at a minimum at the end of the month well yeah maybe there are eight million more unemployed but that doesn't have any reflection whatsoever and the number of people who found jobs in may be making it up but maybe two million of those eight million unemployed also found jobs so you this is really only six million unemployed and then F. ten million total found a job last month then it's a net gain still no matter how many people filed for unemployment just because somebody filed for unemployment two weeks ago doesn't mean they're still unemployed today and this has freaked out the left they're very concerned because good any good economic news is bad for Democrats which kind of tells you where they're coming from that's not what they're rooting for whose side they're on they are very very concerned about good news in the economy not two and a half million jobs created in a month is a is a big deal but a lot of these jobs are jobs that had previously existed we kind of knew that this was going to look like this it's the V. that everybody was talking about where it goes down precipitously and then it suddenly rebounds this is what I told you that politico story about how Democrats are very concerned that the economic damage from the pandemic won't last as long as they needed to it's bizarre to think of things in those terms but those are the terms that politico reported that you know might not be as bad we might we might have a quick recovery remember the story of a man if we get fifteen percent growth in the third quarter because of that the collapse in the second quarter because it's been registered against itself then Democrats will be scrambling to try and spin that is month it's not really you don't know how bad you have it you'll be a might have gotten your job back you might be getting your legs back underneath you might be able to pay your bills again but that none of you don't know how bad you really have it so in order to speed in that you're going to see a lot of crazy to the extent they focus on it the that's kind of important to this is great news for the country right now is is not very fashionable to care about our focus on great news for the country they really don't the left in the media and they're the same thing they don't really want great news for the country they have to report it they'll do it as little as possible but and they will move on because there are other things to talk about theirs the protesters have taken yesterday and today off largely at least in Washington DC they're planning a massive March in Washington DC tomorrow we'll see how that pans out thank god can you go to scratch your head going in case something horrible happened in Minneapolis Democrats run Minneapolis Minneapolis is in Minnesota Democrats from Minnesota so you're coming to Washington DC to protest the president about the horrible thing that Democrats oversaw in yeah yet you try and do that math in your head and you're sitting there and your your eyes go crossed but the conspiracy theories and the discounting of the numbers today will last throughout that it just won't be covered nearly as much as it should and leading the way just so you know Nobel Prize laureates Paul Krugman sort of showed the cards early in a panic Paul Krugman is a guy who was he being he's being paid two hundred and fifty thousand dollars by NYU to study poverty turned fifty thousand dollars for a part time job to study poverty imagine it doesn't occur to him that that might be a little bit hypocritical or just look bad he took to his Twitter account as soon as these numbers were released because Democrats the alarm bells went off on my god it's not bad news we must destroy it he says wait the bureau of labor statistics for reports a gain and gain is in all caps in jobs and a fall fall is all caps in unemployment which almost nobody saw coming again a testament to just how bad economists are at predicting anything maybe it's true and maybe the BLS is definitely doing its best but you have to wonder what's going on yeah after wonder what's going on in here come you can hear off in the distance the black helicopters approaching from the horizon I've been through a number of episodes over the years in which official numbers tell a story at odds with what more informal evidence suggests that phone should love that numbers don't line figures don't lie but liars figure and here comes Paul Krugman if the evidence in the formal evidence suggests alternate turns out that there's something quirky not fraudulent about the official numbers mmhm something quirky this being the trump era you can't completely discount the possibility that they've gotten to the BLS yeah the trump administration expect these T. shirts to start trying to the trump administration has gotten to the bureau of labor statistics they got into the but it's much more likely that the models used to produce these numbers they aren't really raw data have gone haywire in the time of the pandemic yes it's the models the models work great and last season there's whatever if the models are dependent upon a pandemic and they go haywire because they're just numbers here's the number of people the number of jobs a number of people losing jobs so on and so forth they have this thing it's they make it more it sounds more complicated than it is then maybe it's the model's fault now now by that logic to climate change Paul Krugman the models predicted what doom and or gloom depending on the day depending on the month depending on the year and we have not had doom and or gloom and cities along the coast still exist in the Obamas spent twelve million Bucks on a Martha's vineyard place right on the ocean because they know that it's not going to be flooded if you wanna talk about bad models boy we can talk about that models but that then to put a fine point on it from the paper of record The New York Times Krugman finishes his thread whatever happened these numbers should make you more not less pessimistic about the economic outlook the good news graduations you've got really great news yes but you should be more concerned now than ever why they can't have you exhaling a little bit feeling good for the country thinking even if your job hasn't come back or you haven't found a job that day might not be all that long before your job comes back or you find a job they can have you thinking that because they need you hating Donald Trump they need you blaming Donald Trump for your situation and therefore they need your situation to be bad to be believed to be upsetting to you they want you upset again it goes back to the F. B. emotional not rational they have whatever happens these numbers that make you for should make you feel more not less pessimistic about the economic outlook why because they will reinforce the White House inclination to do nothing and let emergency aid to expire we have that fourth or fifth or whatever it is corona virus stimulus bill where Democrats wanted to spend another three trillion dollars remember that Republicans had mobile we we we've already spent hello how about we wait and see what happens to the money we spent already how about we see how that goes before we spend more how about we see what the impact the money we've already spent half as Democrats don't want that panicked spending is good business for Democrats they get the pay off their friends they get to pay off their institutions they get the pay off all their bodies all their goods and it's all make believe they get to they were trying to bail out the states in the cities with the billion with a trillion dollars remember that in a while it's very important if it's crucial then why didn't you do a bill just to do that why did you have to you know make it part of a bill that is three times as large this is not about that it's about democratic politics and paying off constituencies and bailing out democratic governors who have so miss manage their books but had done so in a manageable way that they could keep kicking the can down the road accounting gimmicks could buy them more time more time and more time and then the pandemic hit and they didn't they couldn't extend that anymore they couldn't get themselves more time so they needed a bailout.

doing yeah it's it's it's we have we're in the middle of potty training so at least we put the time to use yeah I know that that's a very good music the time now is for me but still you know baby baby steps baby steps I'm looking at the Washington examiner website right now in the top story rated at the top of the page is about my state of birth Michigan and governor Whitmer Gretchen Whitmer or is many Michiganders have taken to calling her governor Whistler she says that because people protested her draconian stay at home orders where you can go to home depot but you can't buy gardening thanks you can't buy paint so if you're stuck in your house for two months and you've always wanted to paint the living room but didn't have the time yeah Hey we can you can't buy it you can't do it she says that she might have to extend state home orders because of the protests from her yesterday is is this part of an audition elaborate audition or an elaborate prank to become choked by the vice presidential nominee you don't need stories I'm hearing out of Michigan I half expect her to announce that for every one of hers the date that the people killed she'll kill ten of their it's it's getting kind of ridiculous I mean she's really becoming this cartoon villain which is probably not good for her prospects of being a vice presidential candidate she really getting singled out to for just being well I mean I mean you know like you said this is sort of needless separate Harian is right it's not is it D. stopping people from painting or even from buying paint is going to make them less susceptible to across the stores are I go to you can go to a tire you can go to Walmart you little Myers there in Michigan they sell pants and they sell paint and they sell seeds in American flags and if you they're getting food why not meet you having those businesses need to survive as well they should be happily allowed to sell any product they have to help them and help people help themselves but to sit there and say no I've decided you can't buy this you can only buy that is this does that kind of authoritarianism play in the democratic party maybe you know I I can't imagine that it will ultimately you might have seen that there's something similar going on in France right now where they are actually cracking down on Amazon delivery anything except the bare necessities right food and that sort of thing so they're actually cracking on Amazon Amazon has responded by just saying okay we're not going to deliver anything so you change your mind so then they're appealing of course I don't know what the outcome is going to be there but that is a pretty extreme situation yeah Michigan seems to be following a model not unlike that look we shouldn't we be encouraging people to do things that are safe I mean there's got to be something healthier to do down stream you know movies all day long there's gotta you gotta be able to do something your ideal god take walks got to be able to do projects around your house he had built a garden yet to be able to do something I mean otherwise well gonna turn into a bunch of couch potatoes as a result of this and and nobody wants to see that but yeah to the extent that we can allow businesses to survive this we should we should not be going out of our way to make it hard for businesses to to you know sell things I mean yet obviously we want to mitigate risk once we stop doing that once we're doing things like they've done in Maryland Tim Carney has a piece today about how the band fishing okay well fishing doesn't transmit corona virus if I could think of another activity where you're distancing yourself from people by a long ways I mean it seems like a pretty good one right right if it does but look it's it's paranoia and opportunism and all it really takes you know all it takes is is one hypothetical to say well this could happen and a lot of governors have a hair trigger for fear of being blamed for not having done enough and it goes to they've been something I've said before that the best case scenario is everybody looks back at this and thanks well governments really over reacted you know if all the measures they took worked in the the totals are not as high as predicted and blah blah blah they say that the best cases the politicians come out looking like they they wildly over reacted but many of them are wildly over reacting yeah I I would think so I think that's true winner seems to be among the worst I mean you know we we don't quite know yet we were still learning about this virus and you know it does look like we're starting to reach the peak in some places so we're getting some idea of this but we don't know for sure we don't know how many waves of this we're going to have to suffer before we've reached herd immunity we don't know whether you know flattening the curve on this first go is going to be sufficient you know to get into a position where we can just go back to normal any time soon so we should be thinking about you know okay well things that people can already do that are safe we shouldn't want to ban those which you want to encourage those things and yeah I I you know her her apparently retaliatory attitude toward her own citizens is frankly repulsive I mean this is someone who deserves to be removed from office she also declared while telling people that you can't buy seeds to plant you can't buy garden hose can't buy paint you can't buy all these other things she has declared marijuana stores to be a central lottery sales to be essential and also in the midst of what was supposed to be a panicked shortage of personal protective equipment for medical professionals and therefore cancelling all elective surgeries she has declared abortion to be essential and life saving saving can you sense of that no you can't I mean this is just she's gonna have to retreat some people in a preference for way and other people not I mean it depends on how much coal political clout you have and that's really what this is about that's why people are resentful and rightfully so because this is you know arbitrary governance as you know I believe that don't don't save me on this one but I believe this is something that Saint Thomas Aquinas discusses when you govern in an arbitrary and or maybe it's the sum of the founding fathers of said this is well but it's a constant idea of law when you govern in a way that is arbitrary and inconsistent you destroy respect for the law and this is what this is starting to sound like meanwhile in Washington DC the Republican leader in the Senate Mitch McConnell and the Republican Party leader Republican Kevin McCarthy in the house of representatives are in Washington DC Chuck Schumer's in New York Nancy Pelosi is out in California sitting in front of a twenty thousand dollar refrigerator in her kitchen stocked with sixteen dollars a pint ice cream lots of it and the paycheck protection program which has while we've seen twenty two million people laid off for the past month lose their jobs in the last month the reason that number isn't double that is the paycheck protection program which gives loans in quotes to small businesses on the prom and on the promise that you're not that use that money to keep your payroll going meaning keep people employed even if they're not working those loans will be forgiven wildly successful ran through three hundred and fifty billion dollars rather quickly there's a request for another two hundred and fifty billion so that unemployment number doesn't go up exponentially and Democrats led by Nancy Pelosi in between dove bars have said maybe but we want money to bail out state and local governments as well how in the hell is this does this make political sense you could have a one page bill which is what it was passed by unanimous consent and keep people employed and they got danceable as he says but we need to make sure that states and local governments which already got a bunch of money in round three year phase three get more money yeah this seems like a really strange time to certainly be concerned about how money gets spent I don't remember Democrats really ever having this concern previously it it it is definitely an odd one I we have run we have an op ed up today actually by a former aide to democratic congressman kind of trying to make the case that the money is not being overseen while by it's hard to it's hard to find evidence of that at this point I mean I'm sure there are people out there trying to game the system somehow by for the most part I think we need to look at that says you know we're in kind of a desperate time and you know we we're forced everyone to stop working we kind of have to make good on the promise of not ruining as a result otherwise you're going to have more these protests you're gonna have rebellions you're gonna have people who just you know basically say we have to abandon this approach to corona virus altogether because if you actually forced people into you know poverty or penury as a result of your policy to a corona virus you kind of have an obligation to try to help them survive help their business survive helped them to to make it and you know we're not doing that if we if we drag if you know we have legislated dragging their feet on this stuff yeah I would think there's got to be a price to pay for that eventual and I think you know people are watching and they're going to be asked me about this hopefully I mean this is this is absurd in the if the if the Kennedy center giving twenty five million dollars isn't featured prominently in ads throughout eats right yeah and then the same K. letting off a hundred people in the orchestra if that's not prominently featured and and campaign and somebody should be fired but David the while switching to political this week because there is political news Joe Biden running for president you wouldn't know it he he seems to be like a co host on CNN is about always doing these days but he got endorsed the big news according to Andrea Mitchell said is the biggest political news and twenty twenty race aside from the virus and side from the the monster story was the endorsement from Barack Obama he released a video on Monday twelve millions of him rambling on Twitter about what a great vice president Joe Biden was because he was there as Barack Obama did step up from its not real so is the photographer I knew that if you really want to be technical about it a lot of people who were there but does and then the next day Elizabeth Warren as if trying to make herself completely irrelevant comes out sources Joe Biden last the idea that the president former president would be a ringing endorsement of the only guy left in the race most strategically as like what what do you want from the buffet there's only cheese pizza up there well I guess I'll have cheese pizza how does that play into does Barack Obama's endorsement even matter at this point.

"Run. I guess it's going to be part of the world champions within the four by four World Champs in ninety one I have a couple of individuals is the first time about the British record in the League Games. Twenty seven thousand nine hundred eighty five eleven forty five PM. Not The I remember running when you have to run like eleven forty five at night no different. Everything's just that day. You calibrate the whole day to that time and that is because it was live in America and Steve Cram was running against an American. They wanted to live in the state. So the whole meeting started about nine evening and went on. And that's the best midnight but Yeah it's no different. You just start your day later. So it's just a regular day. What's your pro destroy run? Oh proudest run. I could say the same rice for all of these really. I suppose proud is has to be Barcelona the fact that I finished. You know what I set out to do. It's my slowest runs. If you next question what is the last minutes run? Four under so. I'd say proudest possibly Barcelona which trainers when you're running While I was contacted Nike for many years And then I went to Addis addidas now. Even I'm not officially contract manager's listening to me thank you But now I think the reason I do that now is the time I I was with Nike. Then I went to this. I now will only by Addidas because I want to invest in a company that invested in. May So if I can out and buy it. They can still do the same as they did for me. Too Young and upcoming other athletes. Yeah absolutely and can I ask as well when you go or when you get a runner's high do you feel your best when you fairly. I mean as a as a professional athlete. You basically trying to peek at the major championships so being in that environment being an Olympic Village C. And all these other Olympians knowing that you're in great shape walking out onto the track performing for me care about to learn the first round even the second round you you run the rice exactly the way you expect to win it you walk off dust you walk off the track not even blowing so everyone's going. Oh my God. He is in shape. There's no better feeling than than that. The only feeling better than that is when you get off the rostrum. You know when you've had that metal around you in that plane the mastermind for watching your flacco them. That's great but for me spending environment I loved it. I love being in that environment of at a major championships and bay. One of the best athletes or sportsman in the world at the end of the day. You know because that's what you are. I bet being on that podium is just amazing great. Yeah I mean that's I didn't get as many as I'd like to but frankly never been on a few and standing on there. I think the first emotion is that of relief. Because it's worked. You've done it if you look at someone on Russia's Olympic year this year when they get on that rostrum and they put the metal around the net. The first thing most people do is look at it bites and take a massive breath. Because we've done it and that's four years of work to get to that point so it's a massive massive step and then the emotions coming because people's mind starts flashing back on all the people that's been involved all the sacrifices of commitment that they've made the highs and lows and it all comes rushing and that's why people get in okay emotional but it's relief that emotions that this and it doesn't get an abandoned last question. Why is it that you love running so much question one is because I was good at it? I'm we all like doing things that we're were good at to. You just free you. Just get out and whatever pace you go out. You can set your own targets. You're in your own. World is a great time and a place to think admittedly. I don't love the long long distances so I wouldn't run America. Not Happy to a five K. But it's a great failure especially when he's carrying well it's a lovely failing failing the freedom And you're in your own little world which is in this day and age. We very rarely get the opportunity to be and Derek. Thank you so much. You know. You're no officially of Emperor of the rump Laudrup. Ooh thank you very much and it was painless as well. I don't ever expect membership fee. Take and Derek. Thank you so much. It's been so interesting and listen as I say. If you get a chance you forgotten or you maybe you. You haven't seen the video go and check Derek online on Youtube. It's everywhere and watch that moment it's so inspiring and it still love lamb. Police say hi to dot. Jim Thank you very much to..

"And she just kept saying, magic over and over again. So then I just started referring to him as a Madge off clearly. Yeah. Everybody remembers thing with Derek Dietrich where I just started calling him the D And no one remembers that hours good. I mean riddles his nickname's gotta be Ridler. Now you've got to imagine. But they're experimenting with him in centerfield. And Lewis Brinson has been moved to right field in the minors sort of addressing which you've always said, which is just a terrible because they got rid of every good outfielder. So they now need outfielder you shocked at how much I know about the Marlins minor league system has I'm surprising myself. I'm remembering this correctly, and I could be wrong. I remember on opening day. They had people's nicknames next to them. So you get to know the player whatever and I think JT riddles nickname was t- because I guess, JT was too long. I could be wrong but I know there was someone that had just simply one letter. As their nickname. And it was like a very simple name that didn't need to be short. I liked how JT riddle and then we had JT real Mito, and they both one of them puts the dot in between Jay and the team. And one of them does. I don't remember which one which but they like we're both like no. You put the dots and the other one was like, no never dot so someone should have been named Jay, Don or something like, right? We welcome in Dan Le Batard are resonant Derek Dietrich expert who yesterday for some reason, said that separated himself from his comment Dietrich was a minor league hitter. Yeah. You put several years there that weren't there that you said this last season that they're Dietrich was a minor league ball black. He's berry bonds. It was it was two years ago Barry Bonds, and he hit three home runs yesterday. How many heads does he have this, easiest thirty hits seventeen of which are home runs? Imported update JT real mutual dots. Thank you very much, Derek Dietrich is now third tied for third. In the National League with home runs. It means two of the top three homerun hitters in the National League or Christian yelich Derek Dietrich. I don't think it's fair to hold Dietrich against the Marlins. I don't and not just because I was wrong about him like they waived him. They simply wave claimed him. They weren't trying. Everyone was wrong Marlins were just one of all the other type I feel like the rest of baseball agreed with me when he was waived and all of them said, you know what he's not a major leaguer, did they not agree with at least upset with it. But it was mainly because I just liked Eric Dietrich, and I thought like you know what I mean this team is going to be bad. What does it kill you to have their on your team? But I did not expect us. I don't think anyone did. It'd be great if this year in the homerun derby. It was American League versus former Marlins, and it was just like. Derek Dietrich Christian yelich owes Oona. We could find someone else saying that what a bus of a trade that's been putting he's been injured older problem Marlins killing that trade stand barely plan at all. So he doesn't even make the former Marlins Rosser. You can maybe try to crack the American League man. This is funny. What's happening with their D Derek DJ three homers in a game? And now Furthermore, I'm about this. When he's having that bloop wasn't blue, but it was a double where he was shirtless. A game winning double, and he took off his shirt. It's no lie. It's the background on my computer. Like I'll show you right now. Background. I'm like that. This is the background like you can see it. Yeah. I wanted to put this on a t shirt, but I figured I might run into some sort of legal issues with, like the photographer. He's so hand, he's so hand forced yelich is in that photo. Happy. So happy. Look, how many people are at that, gene. Man more ads than people more more alcohol. This is a big crowd..
