"So you broken network cable that was in the ground Oh yeah. Is that right? Is it a cat cat sixty think for the regular incidents Jason Hansen it'd be mad at me. Jason. Helped me in solace. Up a half ago, we took a cable he was at one of the classes and his don't be this leading that destroyed one from the house he went looked in house and he said Oh all you need is a four hundred foot burial cable. You know woman a little bit more checks on the outside or tougher thing. So we went from the House across the yard about four hundred feet into the new. Black Barn. And today the guys who are doing the driveway. Because, he came up and he said you can say I just broke a cable. He wasn't took a little black wire as thaw. which is it's not a big deal but I have two laser stuff in a few hours. So I have to splice so that I could I'm GonNa have just figure how to connect my computer directly to the laser. Laser unit. The full spectrum laser so I'll figure it all out. So I just have a spicing kit somewhere I could spice it and buried again it's just a you know it's one of those things where you think like you plan your day your mind I'll have to this that a have to find this the whole package splicing equipment, which I haven't seen since a year and a half a mile and a half six this. Thing. They're widening my drive land on the barn, the my local landscaping guys, and he's walking the dog at eight o'clock to call me over his wire carpets out anything important. Stick it out of the ground to five foot pieces. Ten, feet apart like That's my laser job in four hours. Anyway it's. It's not it could have been a lot worse. It's you know these things whenever these guys dig a funny thing was once got tremendous trench to the electric from the street. They had to put three-phase cable from the street all the way to the barn and Derek from Maldon came over one day and he's like looking in the hall and he goes you know you guys cut a phone line didn't don't Cha we did. When he point he pulled in the hall had been dug for like a month I didn't even notice city because that's what he does for a living. In look look and it was a cable like about as thick as my wrist with about twenty thousand wires in it. Ripped right. Open idol even looking at it from one angle ciders thought it was a water of black water hose which water was coming out of it gets its abandoned but if you look at it from the other direction is like. Ten thousand wires hanging out of the, but they will cut very cleanly. And he goes how long ago did you cut this? They broke it about ten days ago he does no one's come to bobby nope because then it must be abandoned. Because usually when these things break, they know right away. Oh yeah and. Because there was a it was his is the bucket. So one half of the why was ripped out of the wall and laying face into the mud so I just thought it was a hollow black water to. And the other one was sticking out from the angle. You couldn't feel the wires anyway. And then about ten feet away in the trees have grown into one of the trees is A. Porcelain. Placard from. Bell telephone. And it's grown into it's gotta be from like the fifties on in the forties because half engulfed in the tree in his bell telephone. So that must be and then when we dug up a French drain by the Barn. By the other by the machine shop, which is about four hundred feet away they found the same cable. So it runs diagonally through my property right under every single holy Dick So. It's abandoned but the little tiny Internet cable, which is about as thick as a pencils broken and I'm gonNA figure six after we get off. labile learn something new. Yeah, it's a pain in the butt though a strip does tiny little wires and well, I'm Gonna I'm GonNa. Try need twice I gotTA. Yeah I'M GONNA try to do a connector connector connecting connector. You know. A peace in the middle, and then just cover covered with like six pounds of lactate and put it back on the ground. Everyone's passionate. Everyone's punching this computers for now. It's not gonNA work. That's what people do. That's fun. Anyway other than that. What are you up to? What have I been up to whip building trailers didn't put a movie out last week as building trailers. We're building eight bullet Bourbon trailers that are going to go to Texas in the last ones I built over probably few weeks maybe four weeks four to five weeks considering the prototype. Now, this eight I started last Thursday now it's almost one week later and they're just about there about seventy five percents done. WHO's still out to do the doors for build bumpers but with a team here, the team that I got helped me out is incredible everything's moving along swiftly. And, we'll make tires. Sixteen fake tires at a plywood. In every single tired uses up just about one full sheet of plywood. And takes thirty minutes to cut because there's I didn't count this probably sixty pieces that I cut out like little arcs of circles we connect them together. To make related them together like a like A. Layer cake then six layers apply what makes up one tire. When fake tire everyone's like why don't you just buy tires because that means that I have to buy tires with Rennes connect the rims to something that's both if I keep it all would I could just nail screw everything. And if I do the cost analysis, it's probably the same amount of money to buy the plywood and take the time to put it together. But I don't have the the ability to just nail in screw I have to Baltin get involved all the Have to down the rabbit hole of using the trailer equipments connect tires as opposed to just using screws announced nothing has to turn so it doesn't matter.

Derek Carr is getting upset

"So the Raiders are starting preparations like everyone else in the NFL for the wonky 2020 regular season. Derek Carr is still around. That is a surprise. He was supposed to be gone. He is battling and trying to hold on by his fingernails to the starting job in Lost wages. Nevada, the newly minted Las Vegas Raiders. Who will have no fans their first year in Vegas like everyone else, right? So car was asked if he had ever considered opting out of the season many players have done it does. I think over 50 now that have said they're not going to participate in this season? A couple of medium sized names a couple of star defensive players who have decided not to play in the 2020 season. But what about Derek? Or rather benign question, considering that he was at a Raider news? Conference. And so it's a fact that he's at practice with the Raiders at workouts, meetings and things like that. It seems pretty obvious that he's planning on playing. But that question ignited a very passionate response. If you did not hear this And maybe you missed it. You're not up on these type of things. Fair enough. That's why we're here. So Derek Carr said unequivocally. I did not. Did not think about tapping out like some of these other guys have done, And then he went on a rant and attempted to passionately explained his reasoning. In fact, we have The audio tape in his Warner Wolf would say, Let's go to the audiotape years. Derek Carr, the Raiders quarterback, opining about what what his motivation is for this year. Miami Marlins CEO Derek Jeter: COVID-19 Outbreak Happened Because Players ‘Let Their Guard Down’

"The cardinals of the latest team to suffer a corona virus outbreak resulting in their four game series in Detroit being postponed the I. of course, was the Marlins. Here's Derek jeeter their man in charge describing how his players behaved before all this happened. Oil. Down to on this particular trip was. Guys were around each other got relaxed in. Let Their guard down. There were getting together in groups. They weren't wear masks as as they should have been warned social distancing of the entire traveling party is responsible for not following. The Protocols has instructed that that includes staffs, players. Everyone is seen seen the impact. They've seen their teammates, you'd sick. As I bring the Jeff Passan and Jessica does in Jeeter did go on to say, I think this is important that he had seen as we all have people suggesting that when they were in Atlanta, maybe the guys went out to bars and clubs and all of that strongly refuted that notion he was saying, yes, they got lax in some of their protocols, but it wasn't like they were out there doing things that were like super erase. I just thought that was important to get in. That said Jeff, what does the League's response to the Marlins, and now the cardinals outbreaks tell us about what we should expect for the remainder of this season. Greenie tells us that Major. League Baseball is saying damn the torpedoes full speed ahead, we are going to play through outbreaks and we saw that with the marlins and we're seeing that now with the cardinals, seven players on the cardinals have covid nineteen six staff members as well. Those thirteen people have been sent back to Saint Louis Right now is the cardinals trying to figure out what exactly they are going to do. They played only five games, this season Greeny, and yet the fact that they're missing potentially at least another four games possibly another week of games on top of that. MLB says, okay. This is this is reality if we want to put a baseball season on traveling around the country in two thousand twenty and it is a reality that they are embracing in full because at this point, if there's going to be baseball Greenie they really don't have another choice Jessica. What do you think? I think that honestly, this is something that's going. We're going to see it again in another team I hate saying that, but you get one player and that's what jumps out to me. So much is now seen it with two teams in a week or one player has it, and then the next thing you know you blink and overnight five, six, seven players get it, and I think even talking with, Mike, Chill, the cardinals manager everyone realizing how quickly this can spread and that's something i. feel. Feel like we're gonNA see continued throughout the MLB

Locked Down in Switzerland and Belgium

"Start with Stephen mcfeely he operates being be on Ireland's dingle peninsula in just before the pandemic head Stephen an interest in the hotel Oberland in October and Switzerland that's where he's had to ride out the first few months of the global lockdown good and. My goodness. My Irish friend is learning Spitzer dykes. Good here in the Alps where I've been for four months. Now in splendid isolation, my plan originally was just to come for February and March, but I've I'm still here right well, what does the vibe in Switzerland right now there's a positive vibe. The society is reopening. Tourism travel has started again just no we're on the same level as it was before we had two weekends where there was crazy crowds here huge big crowds from all over Switzerland everybody who was here was from Switzerland or had to be from Switzerland. They weren't necessarily all Swiss because there's lots of international people living in Geneva and Derek and whatnot but everybody from within the barger of Switzerland over with crowds, and then it just died and Monday to. Friday went back to being really really quiet. Okay. Well, this is sort of the very beginnings of the rekindling of tourism I would imagine it'll be people traveling with within their own countries first, and then traveling within Europe, and then finally international travel and transatlantic travel. Yes. That's exactly what we're seeing. The borders here have just reopened. So we're expecting Germans and some Austrians and maybe some French to come now also, I don't anticipate huge numbers like that would have been heretofore. One. Very noticeable thing in the Valley of course, there's no American visitors. As you know, the valley also is very popular with. Chinese travelers Indians many people from Dubai and Saudi Arabia would come here and they're not here this year. So there's a noticeable difference there. So the people getting the real cultural change would be the French speaking. Swiss. German speaking part of his Switzerland and not even leaving their own country exactly. Fifty percent of our guests. Last week were French speaking Swiss and it was the first time I've ever actually met those people and I would say to them. Are you French Swiss would say no, no, we are. All MOM and so I I learned something new immediately the K. The identify as swirl. They were saying exactly what you just said they said it's like we are in a different country it's very dramatic here it's different toossion either those on the do shut down it was really cool. They were very excited to see a different part of their own country. So that was wonderful. Now Stephen you own a hotel in Ireland in Dingle Peninsula and now you own a hotel in Switzerland in Loudoun valley two of my favorite places as a businessman working in both these countries how do you compare the support getting from the government and how the two governments are dealing with this crisis? Well, the difference is. Very. Big. I'm still on team. Ireland. So I want to be positive about my own country, but there's not a lot of support coming. Heretofore in Switzerland for example, within two weeks of the crisis occurring. The. Swiss Federal Council which is the Swiss government offered ten percent of the previous year's turnover and So that's quite a considerable amount of money and they offered that as a loan which was repayable over seven years. Zero percent interest. So they're not looking to profit from it and in Ireland we really struggled to get some assistance. And we got ten thousand euros of overdraft line of credit and but repayable at seven and a half percent interest in Switzerland. We got three hundred thousand. So it's quite a big difference there no-interest at all. No interest at all. Of course, Switzerland may have much stronger and deeper reservists than Ireland, but they were able to immediately come up with assistance very little bureaucracy paperwork, and they immediately got to help us in Ireland. The experience was just simply much different to the government really weren't as proactive for as immediate as were here in Switzerland. The roots here what's around her a lot less strict as well There is a two meter rule here, but I haven't seen anybody wearing masks very much, which is kinda shocking for me because I know in Ireland the whole north of is people should be wearing masks. People definitely are observing social distance. One of my friends said to me that the two meter rule has actually brought Swiss people closer together so. That is so insightful to the Swiss society. It's more difficult thing. It's more difficult thing for Irish people or Italian people are Spanish. Two meters distance than it would be for this people or maybe the. Scandinavians. I can see by home people are wondering. Is the Irish pub culture ever going to come back the way it was with social distancing whereas in. Switzerland. Here for me like I'm I'm in the Alps I'm surrounded by fresh air and. Of of lovely space and it's been a wonderful place to be stranded, I don't even want to complain about it because although I I was stranded here for four months. It was the perfect place I felt very safe. I might have felt different if I was in the middle of Zurich or something or Geneva but I felt very safe. I'd in the Alps and it is lovely and peaceful and quiet, and of course, that's what people are coming here for anyway

Derek Black was groomed to be the new face of white nationalism. Now he's working against it.

"Derek Black was supposed to be the new face of white nationalism. His Godfather is David Duke his father created the White Nationalist Website Storm Front, black himself used to host a radio show and run workshops, pushing a white nationalist message, and then in college he changed. Listen to Derrick talk about his journey out of hatred. How belief in white nationalist ideals are more widely held than you'd think and the danger of the trump presidency poses to our nation as he rides white nationalist coat-tails here at all right now. Derek Black, welcome to the podcast Hey Jonathan thanks for having me on so I didn't know anything about you. Until my colleague at the Post allies SAS low sent me an email saying I've just written this book. called rising out of hatred. It is about this guy named Derek, black who was basically. That, the era parent to to the throne, if you will of white nationalism who came through on the other side and I read, the book was fantastic. Did the PODCAST WITH WITH ELI? put it out into the world. And unbeknownst to me. You were. A, subscriber to this podcast, and just was on a walk, and you were listening and discovered. You were the subject of conversation. That's exactly my experience. I was still living in Chicago, that point and I was doing my morning commute and your show came on, and it's it's that weird surreal experience where you you slowly realize that this is not just weirdly appropriately interesting, but actually it's just about you so. Specific, while what? What was fascinating about your story? Is How well one you know your story is. You know. In some ways, quintessentially American in you know white supremacy and white nationalism is woven into the DNA of America and hearing your story in the time of trump. Made it even more salient? Why did you participate with with Eli to do the book that he did? And then we'll get into present day stuff, right? Part of it was personal relationship. ilize that amazing writer and his real skill is in telling complicated stories and I. I feel like my story doesn't make sense without all the context of that I not proud of IT I. don't look back and try to. ask for any kind of praise from it in fact, I'm still quite embarrassed than like filled with a lot of shame. That I spent twenty years of my life, really committed to white nationalism, and so if if there was anything good, that was gonNA. Come out of it was gonna be in telling the stories of everybody around at that time all the people who who who were affected by my family's activism, all the people who still be engaged me whether that was in protesting the fact that I was on campus or whether it was. Was In my quiet conversations where they would dismantle all the evidence that I thought my ideology was supported by in all of that together felt like the the important part of it, so if I was going to wrestle with it it just it needed to be in the hands of someone and in a format that could really encompass all that Andy. Lie is such a fantastic storyteller of that. He was the perfect person to tell your story so now that we are a couple of minutes into this conversation and people are probably still wondering. Who is this Derek Black Guy who are you or who were you? I was born into one of the leading families of the White Nationalist Movement that my father founded the first white supremacist website online before the worldwide web even came online by his his closest friend, growing up was David Duke they come together doing white nationalist activism in the nineteen sixties and seventies They had run the clan together. They had quit the clan and gone into. Into politics together they had done all of that for decades by the time I was born, and I spent the first decades of my life, growing up with all these leaders of this movement that they had built coming over to the house or traveling around the country to meet people who had fought against the civil rights movement in the nineteen fifties who are now elderly men. Men sitting around the table, talking about how they were so worried about the direction of the country and I wasn't just a bystander. I got deeply involved at ran for Republican local county office in two thousand eight and been won that election, and became a national story in my own right, and all of that was up until I went to a small liberal Arts College and And had a year experience there being the most controversial thing on campus, because it was a a social justice oriented community that was now trying to wrestle with the fact that explicit premesis was living on their campus, and after many years there, my my experience was wrestling with how my ideology was was harming. People out was factually wrong how it was How is just in? It was not able to be something that I could continue committing to that I that I could be feel good about myself, and so publicly condemned in two thousand thirteen, and have spent the years then since then just trying to figure out what is my. What is my role in? What is my responsibility now?

Before You Invest, Do This by Derick Van Ness

"Before you invest do this by Derek. Van Ness of big life financial dot com. I don't need to tell you that you're constantly being bombarded by advertisers. Each of them is trying to get you to believe their product service or cause is worthy of your hard earned pennies as they try to influence you. Many advertisers strategically attack your mind's natural tendencies. They tell you that you need to look a certain way. Take particular action or join a particular group in order to be happier and more successful. Most of us, know these images and false promises our garbage, but it doesn't mean that we aren't susceptible to the ideas. Advertisers are putting in our heads I. could talk all day about the false ideas that are being pushed in the media, and how they are making people less happy and more frustrated, but that's a topic for a different day in a different post, however I believe that one of the most harmful ideas being perpetuated in the marketplace today that you need to invest as much of your money as possible, and you need to do it as soon as possible, or you are missing out. Of course the advertisers motivation is for you to invest with them, so they can get paid in have access to your money to make even more prophets for themselves, so they're message serves their interests, but is it truly in your best interest? The short answer is no. Investing has its place, but it should not be the first thing you do when you begin earning money. This is especially important for people who are newly out of school and developing their financial habits. So, what should you do, I? You need to learn to systematically save money because if you can't ever save any money, how will you ever be able to do any meaningful investing? I know that isn't as sexy thing to say, but it is absolutely essential. Having money in a savings account will actually be worth more to you than any other investment you make. How is that possible? It's because having money saved works for you in many unseen ways, and here are three of the most important. One having money saved, gives you peace of mind and confidence. Both of these allow you to sleep better at night. Be a better spouse, parent or friend, and be powerful in your career or business. Your state of mind is your number one asset, because when you are confident and abundant, you are far more effective than when you are operating out of a fearful or scarcity mindset, the importance of mindset cannot be overstated. It is often the difference between a successful business or marriage, and a failed business or divorce caused by financial stress, financial peace and confidence is. Definitely vital. To money in your account helps you save on interest. Savings helps you to avoid taking loans all together, but also allows you to get better interest rates on the loans you do take whether it's having money for a down payment on your car or showing the bank that you have money saved. When you get a mortgage. Having money set aside will help you save on unnecessarily high loan rates. Three most importantly, your savings account will allow you to minimize losses incurred in Difficult Financial Times and maximize your opportunities when they come along. If you have money invested, but no savings, he may be forced to cash out of your investments at the wrong time leading to surrender fees or losses because you needed the money for an emergency. Conversely, a strong savings account will allow you to jump on the right opportunities when they present themselves, note saving money into a 401k or IRA does not have these advantages accessing so-called qualified money can be difficult and almost always comes with penalties or fees. So stopped to consider how much you'll potentially miss out on by having your money tied up until you are fifty nine and a half years old I've seen many people unable to start their own business or capitalize on a great opportunity because they couldn't access their money through the years I've worked with enough people to know that most of us get a few curveballs in life and a few key homerun opportunities being in the financial position to deal with the curve balls without losing everything and the ability. Ability to take advantage of those homerun opportunities can often be the difference between living prosperously and barely getting by so before you rush into investing your money, take the necessary time to build a financial foundation I

AP Switches to Sony

"This is digital story podcast number, seven, forty, nine July, twenty, eighth, two, thousand and twenty today's theme is. Resting on your laurels can hurt you. AP Switches to Sony. I'm Derek Story. Prior to the murless revolution, cannon had the camera industry pinned to the Mat. I remember attending an invite only precedent at. Back in the day and marveling at their confidence and swagger, and for good reason, they were dominant. But soon after serious tiger FY began to evolve away from the DS or and cannon was slow to innovate. In just last week, the Associated Press announced they were switching to Sony for all their photography and video work. That's Today's top story on the TV S. photography podcast. Change has been in the air for quite some time and I. Just you know you think back on things you know little stories that you read here things that you hear there and pretty soon they start to add up to something. Big and something big has definitely happened with the Associated Press deciding to switch from cannon which they were using primarily of for their work to Sony for everything for photography and video the whole Enchilada. Now those little things I was talking about four example. I remember reading a story a few months ago. About it was a hearing the government hearing and DSL. Ours were deemed too noisy to shoot during the proceedings, so the DSL are photographers were asked to do not shoot except at specific times, so they were basically controlled when they could take a picture. On the other hand, the murless shooter. Room time and it was a Sony shooter ironically. was able to shoot at will, because he was able to set his camera so that it made no noise whatsoever and I. Remember Thinking about that story at the time, I'm going. Wow, look out for this right. If you're in the world of journalism, look out for this and sure enough Not that long after we get this big announcement now many of us. US Are Mere Lewis shooters. We can imagine the benefits of these cameras over DSL. Lars during the daily grind of reporting I mean don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. murless cameras are lighter. They're more agile and they are definitely quieter as I just talked about so if you had to carry a bank all day every day, would you choose? Realistically, what would you choose? At the same time while you know, we're sort of figuring out that we value our backs in our shelters and our necks, Sony continued to add necessary pieces to complete the professional photographer puzzle. They launched their professional service which by the way associated. Press has expressed great confidence in Sony's ability to deliver professional services onsite during major events, so they launched that and they got it going in. They did it well enough to get the. The confidence of the Associated Press they put long white aperture telephoto lenses in the roadmap, and they carefully integrated stills and video into the same camera system, and this becomes really one of the important aspects of a peace decision to make the switch and I have some quotes for you coming up here in just a minute about a week ago, they officially announced a AP did that. They're switching to the Sony Alpha system. The quote with hundreds of staff photographers and videographers around the world and thousands of freelancers who contribute the is a massive entrusted source that covers both the expectant and unexpected, and they're going to do that with Sony cameras so when I have here I, did some research about the discussion you know basically most of the quotes are from a director of photography, also the deputy managing editor, so David is the director of Photography and Darryl is the deputy managing editor and from two different places. We're going to start out with some comments that were captured by the director of photography. On an article in DP. Review DP review, and I have the link to that article in the show notes. The articles titled were confident that they can deliver. We talk with a piece director of photography about the switch to Sony the link is in the show notes there. Here's a few of the. Comment on them and again. This is the director of photography. We like the idea of having the color quality in the image quality, being close to the same between stills and video equipment, so if a still soccer for help out a video colleague with a little filming or B roll. It would fit in the at it in. If we were to pull a grab frame from a four K. video camera, it would have the same basic feel as a photograph from stills camera.

Pirates' Derek Holland ejected for arguing with umpire from stands

"I I read a story for them. I watching this Apparently. You ever watch baseball When you know there's an argue of a strike or a ball and out, the manager comes running out, right gets face to face for the empire. Even you see, you've seen that right? Apparently. At one of the baseball games. I guess the umpire. I guess he is He is. Ah, Karen Massacre Right or a mass. Karen. He happened to see a couple of players. Sitting in the stands. I remember nobody is allowed in the stands is no fans, So a couple of players were just sitting in the stands where nobody is. But they weren't wearing masks. So the umpire Through the player out of the game. Because he was not sitting With a mask on he Apparently the players are not allowed in the stands. Even though nobody's allowed in this stands. You can't get any more socially distance from this. The pirates and the Cardinals are playing. And AH Pirates pitcher Derek Holland was just like just sitting in one of the The seeds and the empty stands and the home plate umpire Jordan Baker saw this and said You're out of here. Throw him out. And if that wasn't bad enough, right, So you're throwing out a guy sitting by himself in the stands where nobody else is. Right. Nobody else's there. What is he stealing signs? I mean, whatever he's just sitting there. So the manager Of the Pirates came out to go argue Funniest thing. He had to run out and pull the cloth mask above us above his mouth. And he and the hope and the whole plate umpire takes off his catcher's mask. Whatever you know the protective mask and puts on his surgical mask. And he used to be back in the day. The manager get Toto inches from their face and yell at each other. Now they have two socially distance. You see the home plate umpire and the manager, yelling at each other from like four or five feet apart. And then at one point, you see the whole bump higher, like, just see, must have said something to the manager. The manager then pulls the bandanna thing. Whatever over his nose, he only his mouth covered, not his nose. Course Their eyes were wide open, right? So now in baseball, the managers are arguing from a socially distance. 345 feet. And they had to stop before they could argue and put on their

"Run. I guess it's going to be part of the world champions within the four by four World Champs in ninety one I have a couple of individuals is the first time about the British record in the League Games. Twenty seven thousand nine hundred eighty five eleven forty five PM. Not The I remember running when you have to run like eleven forty five at night no different. Everything's just that day. You calibrate the whole day to that time and that is because it was live in America and Steve Cram was running against an American. They wanted to live in the state. So the whole meeting started about nine evening and went on. And that's the best midnight but Yeah it's no different. You just start your day later. So it's just a regular day. What's your pro destroy run? Oh proudest run. I could say the same rice for all of these really. I suppose proud is has to be Barcelona the fact that I finished. You know what I set out to do. It's my slowest runs. If you next question what is the last minutes run? Four under so. I'd say proudest possibly Barcelona which trainers when you're running While I was contacted Nike for many years And then I went to Addis addidas now. Even I'm not officially contract manager's listening to me thank you But now I think the reason I do that now is the time I I was with Nike. Then I went to this. I now will only by Addidas because I want to invest in a company that invested in. May So if I can out and buy it. They can still do the same as they did for me. Too Young and upcoming other athletes. Yeah absolutely and can I ask as well when you go or when you get a runner's high do you feel your best when you fairly. I mean as a as a professional athlete. You basically trying to peek at the major championships so being in that environment being an Olympic Village C. And all these other Olympians knowing that you're in great shape walking out onto the track performing for me care about to learn the first round even the second round you you run the rice exactly the way you expect to win it you walk off dust you walk off the track not even blowing so everyone's going. Oh my God. He is in shape. There's no better feeling than than that. The only feeling better than that is when you get off the rostrum. You know when you've had that metal around you in that plane the mastermind for watching your flacco them. That's great but for me spending environment I loved it. I love being in that environment of at a major championships and bay. One of the best athletes or sportsman in the world at the end of the day. You know because that's what you are. I bet being on that podium is just amazing great. Yeah I mean that's I didn't get as many as I'd like to but frankly never been on a few and standing on there. I think the first emotion is that of relief. Because it's worked. You've done it if you look at someone on Russia's Olympic year this year when they get on that rostrum and they put the metal around the net. The first thing most people do is look at it bites and take a massive breath. Because we've done it and that's four years of work to get to that point so it's a massive massive step and then the emotions coming because people's mind starts flashing back on all the people that's been involved all the sacrifices of commitment that they've made the highs and lows and it all comes rushing and that's why people get in okay emotional but it's relief that emotions that this and it doesn't get an abandoned last question. Why is it that you love running so much question one is because I was good at it? I'm we all like doing things that we're were good at to. You just free you. Just get out and whatever pace you go out. You can set your own targets. You're in your own. World is a great time and a place to think admittedly. I don't love the long long distances so I wouldn't run America. Not Happy to a five K. But it's a great failure especially when he's carrying well it's a lovely failing failing the freedom And you're in your own little world which is in this day and age. We very rarely get the opportunity to be and Derek. Thank you so much. You know. You're no officially of Emperor of the rump Laudrup. Ooh thank you very much and it was painless as well. I don't ever expect membership fee. Take and Derek. Thank you so much. It's been so interesting and listen as I say. If you get a chance you forgotten or you maybe you. You haven't seen the video go and check Derek online on Youtube. It's everywhere and watch that moment it's so inspiring and it still love lamb. Police say hi to dot. Jim Thank you very much to..

"That that could give you. Of course I mean you know. Technology spikes in our case of change. The surface of the tracks have changed as well Might sound weird but this fast tracks and slow tracks out there and same as fast swimming pools and slow impulse show that level all of that stuff does make a difference and he only needs to be in a minute difference at that level that can be the difference between winning a medal and Anomaly Natale. Wow it's amazing. Isn't that how things change and presumably? Everyone's just going to get faster and faster as they as they work. I mean there must be a limit to Ho fast. Someone can run four hundred meter. I'm guessing there is but you know there was a time. When they said the man will never run a mile in under four minutes. apparently not so long ago someone said the man would never run a marathon in under two hours and all these things do get changed but a lot of technology and goodness knows what. That's the helps these things so yes we will get quicker and faster. I don't think it will keep on happening at the speed has done in the last fifty sixty years. But we'll we'll chip away at these these times and then we'll get incrementally quicker and curriculum quicker or favor in high jump long jump whatever the case may be so yeah. I think there's there's room for improvement in majority running against Alan at night Derek anew amongst many things that you do you are a motivational speaker. Just brilliant because people are listening whilst running sometimes. You just need a bit of motivational chat. Maybe to encourage them to go for a run or to encourage them not to stop. What would what would you say to anyone? I was a couple of things so and I had. This happened to me last night. So a lot of boxing now and I really didn't fancy going training last night. My Wife's off. She's take seven or eight days off so there was almost an excuse to say well. If your home stay home with you it'd been very easy to say that she had to pop out for a physio appointment so while she was out I got changed for trying and I went and it's actually arguably the best session of had this year trying so the first thing I would say even if you don't feel like training take into step step one just get out wherever it means sticking your you like are you try and get outside the front door and just close the door behind you. That's the biggest step and then don't expect anything. Just go on gun run and if you have a bad session. A bad session is still better than no session. And that's one of the that I'm saying are a living breathing. Example of that last night it turned out to be a great session so I think that's the first thing the second thing is don't expect to every time you go out to be quicker than you a long time. It's not going to happen. It doesn't happen Olympic level. We don't go out and run personal best every time we race or even every time we try and it goes up and down up and down. It's about it's about that average and when you are feeling good now you put those good runs in because no one can expect things now different from golf. You don't go every time. Play best round ever and you can still have a great run on the back of a of a bad run so I think a lot of people expect too much. Every time I go out and run. They possibly concentrate on other people's Times rather than themselves for me. I think that's the thing is focused on yourself rather than on other people and just make those slight increments yourself rather than China. Blow it out the water because you will get disappointed if you think you're GONNA go out and and smash every time. Yeah no actually when you do a race. Presumably the reason so many people get. Pbs erases 'cause there's a little bit of adrenaline that suddenly POPs up gives you that extra push absolutely. I mean there's two things there's competition Anna drilling and to me. The adrenaline is produced because of the competition. Most people get nervous. Why because I don't want to make a fool of himself that don't WANNA run bad. I'm in front of other people. It's not actually the run that makes them nervous because you run further now at all that this is further however many hundreds of times a year but that same distance. Let's say it was a ten K race all of a sudden you've got another one hundred fifty people standing around you. You get nervous why it's still the same the same distance today. Focus on them. Run literally run your own race and you will get pushed along with them. I did the ride London a couple years ago and I'm only plotter on on the outbox has one hundred mile bike. Yeah kill me and my wife was just pulling wife Megan Hill. I just couldn't keep up with the best thing was. I got to watch a backside that she was ride. No quick aside that spurred me on but when we were riding in groups of people it's amazing how you your pace picks up because you just kinda go with the flow and you're sort of pulled along or pushed along by people which is which is really good. Use it you advantage but I find a lot of people when they talked to me about running where we're sprinting. Are Long Distance always wanted quick? How what was your you Gordie? Tips me to run faster. I want to go on down. Always look to go and run quicker because sometimes when you do run quickly when you least expect it just go out to have a good run and finish that run amend look to watch and see what time is it might surprise yourself. You know on how you've actually run. That's so true isn't it? Yeah making sure you're rested and you've got the right foods and all these things contribute as well massively. It's one of the problems I have with my wife. My wife will not rest and I have to say look. You've got arrested a joke where weightlifters bodybuilders say. I'm going to the growth chamber. And he's actually the guaranteed bed because they grow arresting. I'm actually break down the muscle when were training and that same principle. I use it Maria Saito. Look you're not GonNa get quicker and veteran veteran veteran better by training and mentoring you gotta give body a chance to recover before you can go back. And put in such a high-quality session and it's just a fallacy again. It's that old more is better and keep on going time type thing. I love the growth chamber and the thing is so there's I think there's something like more than twelve million people in this country. No run on a regular basis. Whether it's you know short runs competitively and why do you think we are all running so much so much more than we used to bring us a couple of reasons one? It's very easy to do. Basically you need a pair trainers There's no other equipment that you need. You can find some wet around outside your doorstep. You know you can even if you've run up and down your road. When I was competing I lived in a little village. It was only a third of a mile once round so I'd have to run around around around around twelve fifty laps village. You know to get a half. Decent running people living their parks. It's very simple to do site minimal equipment. We are definitely a lot more health conscious now. And I think it's the gateway to fitness personally. I think athletics are sorry. Running is the gateway to fitness. Because a lot of people will stop running or start joking then they get into running because there is a bit of a difference between you know between the two and I've they get it and they love it and they're hoax or it might take them off into different sports wherever it be cycling whether it be swimming what whatever. The sport may be So I think that's why there's a lot of people that enjoy the running because they are trying to get healthy Eh. We're living longer. There's a lot more information out there. There's better diet so people want to compliment that with some form of exercise and as I run in his is a simple as it gets. We can all get out there and go for a plot a jog or run. Whatever you WANNA call it. Yeah okay so now has to do some quick firecracker scam busy in here as well and your favorite ever.

"Hello there. Welcome to run part Jennifer O'Connor and every episode. I'm joined by someone and together. We discuss the feel-good of running and the many benefits it has. Perhaps they have an incredible running experience. Or maybe they run a particular event or they might have some extraordinary unique stories. They can share. Well all three of those apply to our guest today. I mean he is amazing. He's an athlete. Who held the British record for the four hundred meter sprint and who won gold medals at the world and European Championships? He's a friend of mine as well. Sterry Redmond very how lovely to see. We've come as well with the studio. We've decided to go to a little coffee shop absolutely capuccino much so apologies if there's any slur prank. I'm trying add the funny thing is Derek and I have known each other for a while but not through through Goldsboro and so this is actually really our first conversation running. It is yeah every conversation we have always to do with golf. How's it going? How's the lessons? Go in how you playing and in fact I've got to get it out there every night. He got to be the only thing I want to talk about for the next half an hour or so is that you witnessed my holy one only one I did. I was playing a game of golf with Derek last year. We were at Celtic Manor Titan Wales and yet we were all waiting. Aegis for Derek. Take a show. He was really going deep taking deep breaths and then just relaxing. We're waiting and waiting. It was worth the way. Because he basically swiped the bowl on it went story in the whole straight in landed and ruled straighted absolutely couldn't believe about the next hole but but now that was a great how you're right. I was finishing. I didn't know what club to take basically but anyway it went in. It's my only Holy wants Until I get the next one I'll be talking about that on every opportunity on our on a mission to accelerate every sport. You've got your whole in one. You've got your running gold. Do you know you go just taking these sports off. Because you've done every sport there is I think a few. I'm slightly competitive. I think is the tape. The fries yeah slightly competitive so yeah I've I've done the athletic supply basketball for England plug professionally and just missed out on a seven. Call up his well. I raced motorbikes. National Champion at that kickboxing was national champion and then last year at the tender age of fifty three. I turn semi pro boxer. So we'll see one is killing me is the Gulf. That's the one that's really really killing me. Technically I could say I have played for England as you could say you've for Scotland. 'cause we were playing in England Ireland Scotland Wales Competition so technically I've even representing my country ago. Which if you see me play you know. That isn't sure I honestly can't believe how many sports you've done is running the first one that you did and competitively an at that level at that level yes obviously but at school it was a toss up between that and basketball. They were my real to loves. Rugby would have been a close third but it was. It was those two and then. The athletics kind of overtook because of the success that I was having and as a youngster. You tend to stick with what you're more and most accessible mate was athletics even over basketball. So that's why I ended up getting down athletics route. What was the star of the running? What did you do initially very simple? I was seven years of age. I was running a what if it was my primary. Infant School School Sports Day. I want all my rices Chris EGGART SPOON. The sprint put clothes on all. That's all this stuff and had a guy from our local athletics club which is a guy. leaving Milton. Keynes so as Milton. Keynes Athletics Club and he came along speech about athletics and handed out little snippets and prizes told us when and where they may. And My Momma. That came to watch me run that will compete and I just said. Can I join the club and I said? Yeah went along and that is how I started in athletics. Did everything germ high jump shot. Put MIDDLE-DISTANCE LONG. Distance soon became very apparent. I was pretty poor all of the other things. Apart from sprinting and literally from about the age of eight now Iran hundred two hundred and then when I was fourteen we moved to Northampton. We're not too far away to stop the Metro. I and changed clubs and I was running full Northampton Phoenix as they were back. Then and around one hundred and two hundred and finished third. I had nobody to run the four hundred zero. I in fact the famous court. My Dad said why don't you haven't got the four hundred. What have you got to lose besides rice and we laughed and joked and I ran the four hundred break. The county record and never back decided as a fundamental runner. And that's how it happened because four hundred is a hard distance to run. I never know Jesus Fillon Sprint. The whole way last that long Yukon sprinting. That long four hundred ninety one of the hardest racist around one of the hardest races to train for and I know there's marathons and goodness knows well but the full hundred so awkward nicknamed the man killer you can't spend four hundred flatter so it's a controlled room and if you get it right it sublime if you get it wrong it's painful ugly and at what point does the lactic acid start building up so much that you can't feel your legs it depends on how you run your eyes if you've run at well you'll get sick in the last fifty sixty 'cause you guarantee naturally get it if you've got it wrong. You've you've misjudged the way that you run. He can get it from about one hundred and two hundred thirty may is out and that's a long one hundred and twenty thirty meters coming into that home strike and that feels like an absolute eternity. It depends how well you run it. But YOU'RE GONNA get lat it can. It's a it's a horrible feeling. You get in training every day in fact you have to get in training because we have to learn to run with. Lactic cope with LAX. It's it is the enemy of a former Mitterrand up but it is it is it is what it is and we deal with it and can. I ask what your is for the four hundred forty four point five. Oh my word right so just to put that into reality. I was doing the last section of the Royal Parks Half Marathon tour last year. And there's a sign that says four hundred meters to go now. I knew that a really good four hundred hundred we'll do sub fifty seconds there. Yeah no me. Only fifty seconds to go running. Oh my God. I think that to me about five minutes to do that. Last four hundred hours. You'd run before that is still I mean it's a hard four hundred eight's it's a general. Maybe a bit biased. But I think it's the most beautiful when you get it right. It's a bit like to me like Don CNN. You know being a ballerina and flowing down the back straight and everything goes really well a lot more to it than the gun. Garin and someone just lagging and yet when it goes right it really does feel good. It flows good. And you know when you've run quick. The biggest problem I have with my personal is Iran in a semi final at the world championships. Funny enough in Italy. When you're allowed to go to Italy and I was slowing down a slide down the last twenty thirty meters. Because I've done enough to win the semi final qualifier. Had I known of all the injuries I was going to have in later years I would have carried on just to see how fast I could run. So although it's my P. B. I know I could have run faster at some point in my career. It is what it is. It was quite a difficult time when you were. I mean you're late eighties when you were kind of absolute eighteen ninety S. Yeah is it. Do you look back at the competition? You have that and just think it was a tough team to doing actual category no Yes and no so no with the clean competition. Dare I say There's never really been an easy era in Florida Matron And I didn't mind that because to be honest with you. It wasn't my injuries. I was one of the best in the.

"Numbers eight fifty five four fifty free like freedom five five four five zero three seven three three come up a cop gets flustered when somebody in a parking lot decides to turn the cops tactics against him starting with later all I really am not that big the other guy we get it we'll get into that here it's a nice little treat that Derek J. shared with me earlier so he said as his favorite cop video ever right it's going well sure that one you can bring up anything that's the point here with you tonight you've got in and Chris and nobody Chris you wanted to talk about something that's going on in China with facial recognition software being relatively ubiquitous there apparently and it is all the items on every on every street there watching you and they're recording who's walking it I'm not destroyed and that any time you want to make a purchase anytime you want so I'm I know a lot of these countries and I don't know it's just about China but bike you can't you can't use cash anymore and I know China's going that now also come on can you not you sure there's a lot of name a country where you can't use cash and I'll bet you a dollar you can get some stuff for dollars there so I think sweet sweet it was supposedly was going in that direction but you can still use cash from one it's not that you can't use cash at some businesses but banks won't even give you cash for my understand releases and yeah a lot of people a lot of businesses won't take it either it's crazy and and it's actually interesting because it's for like even for critical stuff like that the government is selling they won't take and actually it's not just it's not it's it's not the only place where I've seen government refused cash in the United States I believe there are like subways in some places that won't take cash at some sub subway stops or train stops are how are depending on their public transit systems so you can at like maybe the main ones but not if you're getting on somewhere that is you know not one of the them more you know populated stops are but sudden where wherever they sell that stuff whatever it is that that they use in the system I'm sure they're taking cash yeah but like if you're trying to get on from you know for a for a further out on the system homeless people going to get on the train because they don't generally have a lot of credit cards they don't generally have a bank account and yeah what about younger kids things like that yeah yeah it's I don't know I know you know I don't know like it's one of these things that things have changed so much I know people are getting you know younger you know people are getting you know credit cards and things like that nowadays that just wasn't the case when I was young but yeah it's good so what's the news so basically the story is a story from C. H. E. D. a Cust news dot com facial recognition fails in China as people wear masks to avoid that corona virus face ID fails users as China corona virus outbreak sparked widespread adoption of surgical masks so the parents was already not uncommon in Asia right but it is extremely common now like yeah yeah by law and that's right so yes so all will get a hold on is it an end to and I have not been following this closely right yeah is it mandatory only in the affected areas of China or is it so they can live I think this is in Wuhan and maybe some surrounding cities I don't ask whatever that problem keeping people off the streets and right and dropping disinfectant right or they say that since in fact and put their driving from helicopters so I don't know right I'm not entirely sure what the rules are when they see when people are not allowed to go on the streets there clearly are people on the streets it's just not like huge numbers it's like scatter probably government agents what will clearly there was just government agents the footage of Wuhan where there's literally nobody now keep in mind that those are also shops that were taken for that purpose of you know trying this to get goes you know make it as if it's a go city so I I assume you've seen differently well I certainly even in those the videos you can see that there's people there driving cars and on the street it's just not a lot so it's gonna be like a very very small number of people but what what I'm trying to get at is that they're still people going out and doing things to some degree even if it's mostly you know for I don't I don't know like I don't know exactly who is out there but I'm just saying there there is some I'll be I mean I think no matter what kind of situation gonna have you're gonna have some people out there just because there's probably gonna be health officials probably or you know write a different types of people that need to move things from one location to another even if it's like samples or get we specialize we knew the bill the website I have no knowledge of websites whatsoever I'm a salsa dancer I'm not a website designer I'm a third generation Taylor I know how to make people look great in their clothing but I do not know how to build a website.

"I could give that as an accident is one office a wanted. What an intimate situation talking like Derek get to coach her brain down man? That's the thing I mean get free or brain is not working right now. Okay that's a you know what yeah I can understand brain's not working. Did you work drinks obviously she's he's a horrible tipper like at a restaurant she doesn't tip Oh gosh I think I would hate that but not it wouldn't be dealbreaker. That would be a deal breaker for me being being in the way someone treats like a waitress or the way they treat them the most important things the way they treat them totally agree. I would definitely say something about it but I don't think it would be a deal deal breaker for me. Okay that's fair. She wears the same perfume as your mom. I don't think my mom even wears perfume. Say That because I wear the same perfume Jason isn't definite dealbreaker for anybody anybody who wouldn't is weird. It's the funniest thing to me and I don't know if I brought this up on another podcast or not but Jason Jason and his brother picked up perfume for me. They went to the store because Jason Thought I needed a new power smell and yeah he didn't like my marshmallows smells and I like that okay so him and his brother went and they're trying all these perfumes and they get to this like that her smell this is the power smell l. or this is so great love and then start wearing it and then down the road. He's like telling his mom bought her lowy and Jason's. Mom goes those you this what I wear pads than it's good. I love that okay so a lot of people had questions for you but I don't have time to read all of them but which is so funny look at the first one. Does he cook how come he didn't use his microwave. That is so funny. It's literally the first one people want to know if you would have been the bachelor if you were asked this kind of goes back to what we talked about earlier. I think that that sometimes when people talk about this they play it up because they say what People WanNa hear. I think if you're sure of yourself you know yourself. I think I very much know myself. Thank you therapy for helping and so like my answer is why the hell would you say anything but yes in that situation. You know like what a super awesome awesome unique opportunity to seek love and also do some cool shit yeah you close yet any learn so much more about yourself yeah yeah. I think you're looking for donor yourself then sure thing come that a lot more but literally every time people make it seem like there there. It was the hardest decision of Oh. I don't know an an and they go on for like five minutes before and then finally they're like but I finally came into this realization that yes did. You said that I actually did say no for a long time because they were putting me against another girl yeah that that's a unique. If it was that I would have said Hell Yeah but it was because of that I actually said No. I'm not doing it. I would have said the same thing yeah nick. No I agree. I think I would have never got when we were there. At the time. I'm me Blaker Colton. I would have never done the whole two on one thing but anyone that would say anything but yes I can think of one situation which I'm not going to bring up in why you would say no now you have to. Why would you even say that because I think there could be people from last season that that may be have other things going on that they would pursue? That's well yeah when you're dating ten supermodel I think how do you say no and so people would ask me after show. That'd be like of course like why would I not do it right. You're politicking to be. I'm like no I just would. I did think he I actually actually did thank you. Were that was one thing that's so funny that you said that because I didn't remember until right now I was like this guy is campaigning to be the bachelor timeout was asked I was like yeah of course like why would I not do that. I love that because it was just like transparency instead of this like well. I don't know you you know about it for months and months and yeah no I get this but I just it's when people start really playing off their edit of the show when they're like you know and they use the one line that everybody loves and everybody loves you and then you go and put it on your instagram from you know like I really love is love is love and I'm just I'd Hilo. That was what made me like love you. When you said that I was like Oh my God this guy's amazing? He just quoted Oded Oprah. I'm in love with him. Okay Lorrie wants to know. Do you agree with how this show dealt with the Demi and Christian situation ration- yeah. I don't think there's kind of already touched on that. I think I don't think they mean like her stain but just dealt with the situation. I think it was very realistic and like knowing me the way that I do now yeah. I think it was presented. The problem is not I think in the way it was presented. I think it's more in the way that people are perceiving it totally because they're like viewing it through their own. Lack loss yeah you went on a date recently Lee with Stephanie Pratt. We try try it out a little bit dates before before paradise. Oh before paired four. It's okay I'll go yup yup and air just like it didn't work out so you're single right now okay. So would you go back on a reality TV show so you've had you've had an interesting state rights. That's one of the questions people aren't enough. You would go back on paradise or I guess another danger. I think like I feel like I've told the joke three times now and it's just like knocking to be funny anymore. I mean in the way of an an analogy. It's like time that I moved on so I mean frankly. I don't think that's in my future. I I can't say no one hundred percent yeah but like this time talking about you said no I told them no for months yeah doing paradox really and it was a very last minute thing to be like all right. Well yeah might as well Ruby wants to know prior to arriving in Bachelor in paradise. Who did you WANNA see? I talked about this on a few different podcasts. I was actually pretty interested me. you always were yeah. I thought she yes. She's edgy. That's funny. Yes super really funny no so I hang out with so many comedians in the city of just like through my friends yeah friends with tons of comedians really comics yeah so like somebody who is able to make like that and and get me out of my head. Ask Ask that's huge yeah okay. I feel like we covered everything else because everyone's asking the same questions we've already talked about. So who who do you think obviously Derek before the soil by who if you had to pick one person person from Bachelor World Today Derrick Oh I had to pick somebody for you. I'm I can't even remember who single right now. That could be hooked up break somebody else okay yeah now. We're really looped up. That's going to become a whole thing it is. I can't wait. Please use the Hashtag Lube up I don't know I can't think of bad because got it trying to think of like funny edgy. There's not many there's all amazing people but funny edgy. Usually there's like a emotional backstory behind people right like in the funny people in sort of like almost villain role. Would you date Hannah yeah I mean I wouldn't say I think I think she's she is. I'm sorry but she planted you as my favorite i. I know that's everybody I if I wasn't so established in my other life I would be like yeah yeah if I would be. I would be like that was my thing. I was like you know but now I'm like. Yes girl. She's got that whole like just says what's on your mind thing that I can see that she I could only see because we hung out with her in Miami for a little bit everything you've described that you want someone I think she she kind of. Has that wow. Let's send it. Let's get what's what's their name panic mines hard because mine has Hari that sounds like very Norwegian panic Hashtag Lube up hashtag Hanoch hashtags send it GS. We've put it out there and you know what I'm a matchmaker of my generation. I did this whole thing on called the Blairite where I found love for this girl on my podcast and I I just did the same for you so you're welcome done cut. That's how we ended but I WANNA say tell us about your podcast. Where people you can find it? Tell us your instagram. Let's blow let's blow it up here will my name is Derek last name and basically just type that in anywhere where you'll find our podcast is the bachelor. It's batches so B. E. T. C. H. E. L. and we have a bunch of our. I think our like our favorite thing is the means that we make so that's half of it so that just it it's so fun sitting with with K. when like she and I watch it and basically we're at the point now. Where we you see like little? It's not the obvious things it's like a little signs of people do yeah and you're like Oh posit that one. That's funny how many girls the podcast well. It's just the two of us but but that's just has like thirty employees maybe twenty scrunchy to take her for sure yeah oh she would. I love that stuff. She wears on here. I'm yes I'm not giving her. This one this like I couldn't get another podcast. Where can people find out everywhere? I tune spotify. Everyone confusing okay well. Thank you so much for coming in sitting on the couch with this hungover piece of Shit here and drinking with us in the open and great plural. Oh Dang over pieces of Shit's pieces of Shit Oh. "Into the confessions. It's always my favorite favorite part of every podcast and now that I've said you some alcohol and you know we've. We've been really opening up here with that was for yes yes. This is how I this is. Why alcohol is involved in my podcast because I I really like Lubi up for a good good loop? Yes yeah I knew you would most people do yeah. You're welcome go on. Thank you go on with your. Do you have a confession through. I have a confession I'll tell you my confession. It's not that good but I I'm so old and sore all the time and like my knees cramp up on planes wins and this morning I realized I pulled a hamstring just from dancing last night. I pulled it hurts i. I don't even like to get up off off this couch right now. Like I literally pulled a muscle just from and I wasn't going. I was not oh I was dropping at low your dancer you yeah yeah I mean I grew up Jhansi my whole life. I love dancing. That's that's the reason why like stay now New York because we can just go dancing till four in the morning then I just I'm like I'm burning CAL's. I'm having fun and I get to dance but I definitely pulled a muscle looked up to. You're talking about like w AH. Why did I do that? Why why did I start that? We gotTA. We gotta keep it going now. Not Expect to keep going. I thought it was a one time thing like when it came out of my mouth. I was like I loved you up and I was like hanging onto it Tony. Is that a is that a thing though do people say. We're getting moved up because I'm going to now. We need to go get looped up on spaded. Spero's the shameless plug. That's going to be your new copy on your on your ads. That'll be on the back. Look Up. You know what I'm like. We're joking joking around there but I'm Daria. It's like it's the right amount of it's not too weird. It's pretty weird I know but he's not too weird right. It's like a kind of make sense like Jesus Confession Jason I don't advocate for of course he doesn't think of one I can think of one for you. It's funny so I was going through your like toiletry kit and I found bound makeup and I was like when you make up any and he was only a panicky and you ended up. What was it you had as it or something that you wanted to cover up on TV they get this story so there's like the powder stuff? Okay the powders first of all very in Greece Kim to understand relate to this so I have not Boughedir. It's not patterns the liquid under I it's to face. It's a great brand. Uh I love money that he doesn't know that they used to powder me because I get so sweaty I sit here here. I get sweaty. That's how I am so I literally I still have the powder kit that they would powder me all the time. It's a brand called two-faced under I consider seeler no no here's the here's the funny part is I stole it from you and I use it all the time and I'm obsessed with it but it was a liquid under I conceal. Are you at a zoo or something or like. I can't remember you had to sit and you were just look like it's not a big deal but you're like all incumbents talk about this a big deal like so many people who go on TV or Komo TV have photo shoots interviews make up but it was just funny to see that and then it was funny to see panic and it still is now I the funny thing about like the very first time I ever had makeup on my face was when we did the the Bachelorette the first night because then they don't do anything right yeah they kind of powder you up before you go in and I was the first person of the day did it like ten. Am and got it on and no joke like two hours later. I just couldn't take it so I don't know how you girls wear makeup on. I was so annoyed by it and I just like wash my face off in and there's not like one TV program that you'll do that. You won't get makeup for exactly. There's not one like you always do understand standing. You don't have to justify herself. You know you're fine has since confessed. I think it is too just because ah powder on your favorite thanks J. L. Steel Yours my so all right. He's going to be my confession so I tweeted like about a week ago that I had lost my remote three weeks before that yeah hadn't found it yet. I I still hadn't and yesterday I found it in my microwave microwave so but the thing is the funny thing is everyone's like reply has been. Oh you're such a man for like wow that look at how much you cook so funny truth is my building actually actually has had its gas-shutoff because ed replace all the gas pipes and my bill okay so I've just been posted for like the the last month straight which is why didn't open the microwave entire time just like eating whatever I bought that day. I'm like he's such take the opposite. Everyone cooking is not microwaving know exactly you know they were saying that like oh use the oven. Instead of the microwave does it was in there for like Cabeza microwave basically a whole month and they thought it was because I was cooking post meeting in how did it get to the microwave. I do not remember you hammered or something yeah. How did it get there could have been like it's one of the probably did actually now that you say you were eating up your post mates this thing there's a subway right next to my apartment and I I'll get had foot long meatball subs yeah and cookies yeah I think so because of the best best best ever and I'm white my more defended chocolate chip okay those are those are my number to back up and I'll microwave so what I was probably doing was probably drinking? I WanNa it just like nine just like nine seconds yeah. No no no no no tents too much. I need even numbers. Oh you need to it'd be enough. I do the odd numbers what like when you're turning up volume and you're like you do odd numbers that we're that we do this stuff and like my my my phone. Alarms will be eight to one eight three if I'm like waking up that like it bothers me numbered odd number. Are you left handed no. I don't know why that was good but I know I always wanted to be lefthanded because I thought that was like are quirky. Personality personality trait and I was like well. I want to be left. I just thought it was cool. Jealous of left-handers to creative people exactly I could totally tell your brother was a left-hander okay well. I was hoping you confessional is GonNa be like you found the remote like up your butter something good but I it would be surprising. People's confessions are like you know everyone's poop in their pants very Raji so thank you for that Nice little. It'll G. rated anything better. Let me know we'll get a good one. Yeah didn't leave him up enough. It's it's too early. It's too early for the for the Raunchy can more okay lesson learned Jason next time you pour drinks for my guests. Could you lose them up a little more. You're okay we'RE GONNA play one game. Ask maybe three questions from listeners and then we'll be done and so which of the following for you this is the deal breaker game which of the following would be relationship relationship dealbreakers free okay. She leaves mean comments on celebrities instagram photos that a deal breaker each one yeah yeah yeah yes. That's a dealbreaker yeah easy. Deal is a deal breaker too. Okay one funny one and you can relate to this. I'm in a bar stool video of John Mayer do this hilarious thing and I go to the comments and the first one it appears. It's so hot deal breaker that I that I say nice comments on celebrities. Take photos. Jesus was John Mayer and he did. I've loved John Mayer and he did this thing that was hot and I said hot he's got. Let's comment the same aw yeah if you come if you commented wait it depends if it was like a porn star. I'd be like maybe don't yeah yeah but if it was like a funny celebrity I would be like their ever commented on an attractive women's instagram saying hot. You would never never say fair. I'm calling you. I very he's right okay but wait if it was okay. Here's an example if you did you see Hailey Baldwin do the like thing where she spun the top of the water bottle and she was like backwards on a quad and did it with her foot that was hot and if you said hot and it was on Barstool I would hate you thought about it. I thought about it and I was like I actually wouldn't like that up because I'm like well. We because I was like why it's hot so you can and then when I said it out loud I was like wait. No I wouldn't like that okay fair. I deleted it though I did delete it okay. She doesn't know the difference between Your Y. O. U. R. and Your Y. O. U. R. E. SO my twitter bio is literally. Why Oh apostrophe is does a definite deal rigor that may subconsciously saw that and made that question I- i- misspelling does is my biggest pet peeve? I don't understand little sister is a teacher. She does actually screws those up all the time but she's like. Let's just because I don't care. I'm texting and I'm like mortified. If I make that mistake me to I will immediately fix it and I'll be like I know the difference was not ah I always blame it on the autocorrect the biggest issues if you don't know the difference where you costs about like I've messed up there their and they're then and then then I've learned that that's a huge one yes I have. I actually just learned that in the last few years years and I ve very very conscious of it now so we had this debate yesterday. I'm not sure if you saw it or not but when you draw something and it's wax use that whack whack site. I'm not a marker CRAYOLA right. What do you call that? I did see this yeah Cran. What uh-huh yeah? Why would you pronounce? It Cram like I'm Barry. Don't you spelled Crayon. That's a very Johnson Johnson. Minnesota West Coast says Crayon your mom says crown. Does she ran. We called her. She said Crayon she does my brothers as Karan but then people were saying to me they say it crowned. See Our yes and do and do you see how weird you think that that is. That's how I feel about Cran say pop when are you. Are you from Iowa. Oh I didn't know that nowhere and you said you moved the city. How long ago well I've been in the northeast for like two and a half years okay where as comfort before okay so he's still like last time we hung out when you were here living up there and just coming down? Okay got it. She strongly dislikes dogs. Strongly dislikes dogs dislikes dog. I've met met a couple. No that is an absolute dealbreaker. Yeah I agree. That's like a sin There's actually somebody somebody went through my my like follows. The other week had followed like twenty five dogs in one day and they actually screen shot at it and they said Ed will somebody check on Derek because he just twenty five even make sure that right there twenty five doggone aww that's amazing it is fees are so filled with like people trying to pose like us for shots to look nice and I just I just need some dogs in there. Somehow me to my whole feet is golden retrievers okay. She has an inspirational expiration will quote in her email signature like that. Oh Yeah Okay I can do that and now you're gonNA get so many emails with inspirational quotes at the end she she oh if you WANNA reply inspirational quote in the email. I just got really a twisted these ones she accidentally calls you her brother's name in an intimate situation no. I think that that's like a forget it..

"And don't forget fifteen percent off with Promo code vine at checkout question after the Bachelorette? I thought I had a pretty good idea of what it would look like watching it back and I thought that everyone got edit that pretty much aligned with the way they acted right so do you think that what you saw back act from yourself and everyone else kind of aligned with like your general idea of how things went I love that you say that I've always gone hard on people that of course little things things are different and if we could be all others this thing that they cut out well yeah. The show dude shows a different show not ah quitting so narcissistic and like I there's of course little things that people can always complain about like people who say that their whole personalities represented differently that is such bullshit excuse or like when they say something really really shitty that they did sad and then they try to make it like oh well no. I don't know but like this and this and this yeah oh the editors know they didn't put words in your mouth. That's just something that people. I think it's like an easy out for their the people who are the biggest. Yes fans. Write quote fans because I don't know what that really means but people who will who will instantly when they're like oh well. That was the editors go. Oh okay okay that makes sense. We Love You well. That's that's a topic. I always talk about on the podcasts as the editing because they get like you said they can edit things uh-huh and splice it and make situations you know. Maybe you seem different than they were but you get change what comes out of your mouth or you're like douchebag personality like you can't. You can't edit that but the weight obviously we're going to talk about your drama with J. P. J. Hey he apologized to crystal and Chris on Instagram. Why did he do it on instagram and not call them personally or did he or what's going on there? You're tell me everything or are you saying that because you saw my comment I didn't see your comment. Did you really not I did not see your comments. Literally just said the same thing that my comment was Oh. No I did I. I I apologize because someone told me I didn't see your comment. We gotta go find this later. Okay yeah I actually called him out on that because there's been ample time for him to like talk talk with them. Talk to them and they've done a bunch of interviews on this so people does not like spoilers on the twenty different youtube videos that have them. I'm talking about this as well. You know I like. I didn't feel like I needed to apologize but did need to apologize for being a part of that. Because it came it came onto me but I still wanted to so I reach out to them on my own right after the show and even got dinner with them and just like just to catch up on how the relationship is going there. There's such a funny quirky weird really are unique. I have ever met really are they and they work exactly like it just works and I like I've told them to their faces. Just like you two are so weird that anybody else could've Matt. It probably know that found the right yeah come. They laugh about it. Yeah I love it and they were super pissed. Yes that he had talked to them at all. They were okay so to me. I mean I think in this is exactly what I say. I think that's just like publicly trying to save face. Look at the timing right. You've had time to think about what you said what you did. You've seen the rest of the show at that point because like you know like you get the gas or whatever and it isn't until then people start sending you messages that are negative right that now you're like Oh. How do I handle this the apologized publicly but not reach out to them? He didn't retail to them. That's so bizarre to me. I don't know for sure I can't one hundred percents right exactly but but I wasn't stated in there just like a save as opposed you said that did he respond to you know that old. They was just so funny just because you remind me a lot of Jason in certain ways and how you handle situations in that situation with John Paul Jones he's obviously just like very he reacts emotionally and I don't think he thinks things through like he just reacts where you can like have the conversation and try and get to the bottom of things and I just found that so interesting to watch. He does like Oh my gosh. Jason would have handled it the exact same way when I was watching. I'm like Muzak you fight fire with fire especially when you don't understand the fire coming at you like take like I'm here to discuss each one of these things and maybe I did say maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's taken out of context but like can you talk to Greenstock yelling and repeating the same three sentences over no not moving forward. That's the thing when people just can't move forward like let's get somewhere with this yeah. Let's that's not just sit here and yell. Let's get somewhere if we're going to do this well. It's clear like his goal of getting somewhere was getting media kicked out of there yeah. He's very clear because he was so smug like when I left you know because he wanted because you were the competition with Asia yeah he's gone. Look if that's how people want to handle getting relationship yeah right. That's short term plan exactly that's that's one thing I've always like like watching. JP An I and Hannah season and here I always like loved them. Larry's he's funny. He's goofy. He doesn't care but then that episode it was like this one eighty happened and now the one eighty I saw it wasn't that quick. Just a switch flipped or was it kind of progressing or is that kind of who he is. I don't know I honestly I don't know the that well and that's that's the tough thing is even having hung or been around him for so long. I don't still I still don't think I know him. I think even like just looking at it as a viewer and because of course I felt like the exact same way to me it was like early on it wasn't serious like nothing was serious. It was all surface and surface thin hilarious like you're laughing along with the going but then once it starts to get into into like serious emotional stuff it just I don't know I don't know why but for for whatever reason he's not like therefore not ready for it. How old is he? The twenty four th okay Kim and there's our answer all right. I recently spoke on drunk dial about getting back in shape which isn't about losing weight to me. "It's Ian Derek J. Stephen Zeiler we've been talking about the latest major corporate hack that a female hacker apparently bragged about in at least a chat room somewhere and maybe even on twitter apparently goes. I guess she didn't get the recognition she was looking for well now. She's got it with a complete with an F._B._i.. Arrayed of her residents and <hes> she committed this hacks a few months back back against capital one and revealing customer data for over one hundred million people at capital one is claiming that didn't include credit card numbers but mysteriously I had my credit card number. Pop Up with some unauthorized use. Just within the last few days could have been a coincidence could have then it got stolen in Vegas or whatever but it's likely they still don't even have proof that they were hacked other than that she had that she provided to them. Yeah so how how they said that they went back and looked at the logs and they saw that that it happened when it was accessed and what the claim that what was access this goes to show that whenever someone talks about the cloud ma computers it really just means someone else's computer so she was assisted Edman of someone else's computer and he worked for Amazon by the way she weren't even pass the Amazon hosting service that she had worked for three two years prior that obviously gave her an inside scoop of how to perhaps <hes> break into the system and as you pointed out Derek J. and a lot of cases when and not just tax happened but just theft from any business a lot of cases. You've got to look at your employees. I don't think except for movies I've ever seen a case where it's not an inside job..

"Bitcoin dot com as we continue here, Derek J you have encountered a story about Google, apparently being exposed as having some sort of a plan afoot to do what exactly alter reality. Put simply I mean, you know, we only know like our whole world is the information that we have available to us. And to a large degree, personally, go controls, a lot of that world. For me it puts a filter on what my reality looks like at day-today germs. I use Google phone. Yep. I'm constantly using Google is my number one. Search engine there, even my phone provider. Not only are they the phone software. But they're also the cell phone provider for me their cellphone service. So this put a real scare into me, and I should've already had this scare several times by now when Google, but, but, you know, call me late to the party, Google seems to be. Intentionally altering reality for people, and we'll have a don't be evil catcher tagline, but they got rid of that. Really? Official thing that used to be there slogan, officially don't be evil and then they got rid of that. Because psychologically, what I have learned is if you have a negative in a phrase that you're, you're saying to yourself, your brain doesn't internalize the negative part. It only receives the the positive of I've heard of that. Whether it's true or not that would mean that they're phrase is either. So maybe it's for the best that they raise the news is an insider, and this is coming from Project Veritas dot com. These undercover video guys. Yeah. James o'keefe. He runs us organization that kind of writing is you kind of a righty. Yeah. I would say so. And people come to him with undercover videos, and leaks documents, sort of like a Wicky leaks. Yeah. He puts it together. He's been sued over some of this stuff to rally he frames lawsuits up on the walls of his office and stuff..

"And she just kept saying, magic over and over again. So then I just started referring to him as a Madge off clearly. Yeah. Everybody remembers thing with Derek Dietrich where I just started calling him the D And no one remembers that hours good. I mean riddles his nickname's gotta be Ridler. Now you've got to imagine. But they're experimenting with him in centerfield. And Lewis Brinson has been moved to right field in the minors sort of addressing which you've always said, which is just a terrible because they got rid of every good outfielder. So they now need outfielder you shocked at how much I know about the Marlins minor league system has I'm surprising myself. I'm remembering this correctly, and I could be wrong. I remember on opening day. They had people's nicknames next to them. So you get to know the player whatever and I think JT riddles nickname was t- because I guess, JT was too long. I could be wrong but I know there was someone that had just simply one letter. As their nickname. And it was like a very simple name that didn't need to be short. I liked how JT riddle and then we had JT real Mito, and they both one of them puts the dot in between Jay and the team. And one of them does. I don't remember which one which but they like we're both like no. You put the dots and the other one was like, no never dot so someone should have been named Jay, Don or something like, right? We welcome in Dan Le Batard are resonant Derek Dietrich expert who yesterday for some reason, said that separated himself from his comment Dietrich was a minor league hitter. Yeah. You put several years there that weren't there that you said this last season that they're Dietrich was a minor league ball black. He's berry bonds. It was it was two years ago Barry Bonds, and he hit three home runs yesterday. How many heads does he have this, easiest thirty hits seventeen of which are home runs? Imported update JT real mutual dots. Thank you very much, Derek Dietrich is now third tied for third. In the National League with home runs. It means two of the top three homerun hitters in the National League or Christian yelich Derek Dietrich. I don't think it's fair to hold Dietrich against the Marlins. I don't and not just because I was wrong about him like they waived him. They simply wave claimed him. They weren't trying. Everyone was wrong Marlins were just one of all the other type I feel like the rest of baseball agreed with me when he was waived and all of them said, you know what he's not a major leaguer, did they not agree with at least upset with it. But it was mainly because I just liked Eric Dietrich, and I thought like you know what I mean this team is going to be bad. What does it kill you to have their on your team? But I did not expect us. I don't think anyone did. It'd be great if this year in the homerun derby. It was American League versus former Marlins, and it was just like. Derek Dietrich Christian yelich owes Oona. We could find someone else saying that what a bus of a trade that's been putting he's been injured older problem Marlins killing that trade stand barely plan at all. So he doesn't even make the former Marlins Rosser. You can maybe try to crack the American League man. This is funny. What's happening with their D Derek DJ three homers in a game? And now Furthermore, I'm about this. When he's having that bloop wasn't blue, but it was a double where he was shirtless. A game winning double, and he took off his shirt. It's no lie. It's the background on my computer. Like I'll show you right now. Background. I'm like that. This is the background like you can see it. Yeah. I wanted to put this on a t shirt, but I figured I might run into some sort of legal issues with, like the photographer. He's so hand, he's so hand forced yelich is in that photo. Happy. So happy. Look, how many people are at that, gene. Man more ads than people more more alcohol. This is a big crowd..

"And we are excited. We talk a lot about why this was the job for him. You know, what he thinks about? You know, the LA sparks of the future a lot of things. So I'm gonna let you guys get to the interview. I do want to say though, that we've had quite a few people messaging us emailing us about our Notre Dame Yukon podcast. We are going to revisit the drama on Monday. Brooke wise tonight had a conversation about some interaction between our Rica, Gino. And there was obviously more to that than I saw. I was cleaning my house and doing a million things when that game was on. But there were a couple of interesting happenings of from one Ourika Goumba wa which prompted an apology from McGraw from our eek to their fans about some behavior that they weren't proud of. There's also some blockage happening on Twitter for what I understand. So we'll we'll talk a little bit about all that. But this podcast is about Derek Fisher. And we want to know what you think and before we hear from Derek. Fisher. I think it is very important as producer of this podcast, and friend of the lovely China Roberson to note that at the time of this recording. He had literally just finished his press release, which means that around the rim is the first platform to get this one on one coverage with Derek Fisher. And I think that's important. Yes. You are. Absolutely. Right. And speaking of that press conference something that came out of that. That was interesting to me, and we're going to have a conversation next week podcast will drop woman named Megan Khan who the executive director of we coach it's organization that helps to get women opportunity and coaching. But one thing that came out of that press conference was that penny Toler said there was not didn't seem like there was much of a search at all. I mean, she knew she wanted their Fisher. And we talked about the rumblings that we've heard happening since his hire everyone is asking well did any form. WNBA players who are coaching get interviewed where they're men who had coached women's basketball interviewed. What was this process license seem to head turn around so quickly? And I will just say that it did not sound like there were other interviews that penny Toler knew what she wanted to move on. And you know, penny has had a lot of success in the in the WNBA. She played in the league. She's now an executive one of the most successful executives GM's in the WNBA and just made an executive decision as my momma would say, but yes, you're right to Riga. We are on the front end of this. By the time we finished taping. Though. There will be ten other podcasts at Derek his bid on that website. But out to Eli. We appreciate you look it out. And now here is head coach new head coach of the LA. Sparks Derek Fisher. Well, basketball fans, we are excited because round the ruined is getting an exclusive interview you would have to be somewhere buried, hopefully, not under snow if you're here in Atlanta, though, it is very cold is probably going to Rica is. But to not have heard the news. The big news coming out of L A that they have hired a brand new head coach. And it's someone that you know, someone you've heard of someone who's basketball game you've probably tried to emulate at some point at the rec five-time NBA champion. Derek Fisher is now the head coach of the LA sparks. We have Derek on the show. Welcome derrick. Thank you. Thank you very much for having me. I am excited to be here and looking for in conversation, man. I appreciate it. Yeah. For sure for sure. So I mean fans know all about you. Right. I mean, you have had a storybook career and in the NBA and accomplish..
