"That i possibly can do given everything possibly. That's when and when you can lay down at night and say that you did everything that you can't kudos you made it. That's it right there because you given all that you can possibly get absolutely. That's just like you said when it comes to making change. Change is low and slow and steady but in order to make an impact. You definitely have to have everyone bought in onto that vision in when it when it comes to Just like you appointing out d- That buying in A lot of a lot of the ladies again no matter what their nationality is. We're both here in atlanta. They come together very quickly. very soundly. a very open lead to make sure that they're supporting one another and that they're also growing their blossoming. Starting businesses starting meet up groups Starting empires even especially here in atlanta. Like why do you think so. Many of the men are not plugged in in coming together versus just like we're pointing out sometimes having net like it's a small group would just going to get ours over here but john Air iago struggle and learn the hardway. Like why do you think it's so much opposition compared to the the woman versus the men. You know here's grappling. I believe that that brothers are coming together in hawks so we had we have a pocket over here just coming together with your vendor the pocket. They're coming together for this energy. A pocket over here. And so. But i believe that the the reasons why we have these isolated pockets. That are coming together. Can i think we need somebody. Who has the voice cop all together. They come less pool. Let's pull all of our efforts energy together into this one place. So what that's going to look like is strong kings rise not at said. I see that pocket over here. Hey packing number one. Y'all we ready to go to this school. This pocket come over here. We all gone to the school to the school. And when when we start calling the package together. Because i believe that if anyone's fault that if an isolated groups it's just brothers moving the best we're doing the best that we can in the areas that we have but man with somebody you issues that that that call and said. Hey look at everybody. We meet at this high school at ten o'clock and we're gonna stay here and we're going to speak to these young boys these axes so i think it is just is just somebody who's unsafe net. And you know what that somebody could be. That somebody can be made your. I think believe that the somebody has to be somebody who's willing to say you know what man i'm going to take a stand up call on with these things together that we got one call and we're gonna do this one thing absolutely and that's and that's important just like you said in in coming together Which which is a great pivot. We just went to first and foremost thank those that are watching in And tuning in live. We are on here with derek hill on my special guests who is dropping jews for the title of today's segment is. Is it a certain way that you've gotta deal with ss kings. You can't be you can't be a certain way around. The king's like give us some feedback on. How how do you disciple men. Well you know my disciples always with young. You're at work or teenagers in particular. You know boys were teens. Thirteen to eighteen. Though asks the area of you know. I really have to spend the bulk of my time in discipleship and the discipleship mentorship is really walk out. It's staying in the like that. It's like fits the discipleship you talking to this eighteen year old sixteen. You say you know what. I'm gonna walk with you and we're gonna walk together and you start walking with then after a while you tell. That king hit now that i started walking with you. I'm gonna take two steps back. And now i want you to lead and i'm gonna follow you so now it's like man this this young king who he now has the opportunity to leap then after a while as king hit. I'm going in front of you now. Listen, Bruce Jenkins, Ron! Crunchy. Come on, Get up. Plus Osler Jenkins. All of them. We love six. But the cross the L A times copes their baseball page with a box scores there, Right. It's that's big key to success. Bad guy. Yeah. You want the information to be accurate? They do these really nice color coded, um, write ups of each game above the box score. So now you're giving me that read that little pirates Tiger. So it has the the Black and the yellow pea black and gold piece that's like the top six has already done for you. That's perfect. Like I could use one of those so pirates tiger. This seems like a perfect little blurb about what happened. Ben Gamblin three hits. Go ahead, two run sing on the six after he slammed into the fence in the left to take away a potential X base hit from Derek Hill with two runners on pirates. Three tigers and I go, Murph, Europe story number three and I would just pass it off. Hold on. I'm trying to air drop something to, uh you want to play that again? You can get someone here, Jen. I get a little surge, their surge of excitement, Yes, but anyway Um, So I'm monitoring the L A Times and Dylan Hernandez of the L A times as a as a columnist, and he likes to be a little. He likes to poke a little bit, You know? Yeah, but he was given the Giants and love over the weekend. And he was, and he said that he had texted Farhaan in April saying, What are you guys doing? What kind of joke? What kind of joke? Are you guys trying to play in the N L West when the Giants got off to a good start. And Farhan wrote back to him and said, Oh, you're just looking for a Dodger troll color are just looking for a Giants troll column or something like that. What? You're looking for a Dodger troll quote. Ha ha! And he said the problem with texting foreigners. I can't I can't hear his giggle. He went on to write that, you know, 400 avowed giggle. "Ninety one of the sleeper on the bus. I'm just amazing. Joined his always on sunday. Budgets and jason. How you doing. I'm doing well Got out for a goal hike yesterday. Put some pictures on twitter It we're getting closer to the weather. Being really nice for hiking season yesterday was a bit of a slog. Boca's it was a sunny and i chose a place that it's got elevation than the picture. You can see me on twitter. I'm sweating through my road. Wear shirt which by the way. Nobody knew what it was. Everybody wanted to stop you on the trail. Like wouldn't you hurt me and explain it. Oh okay 'cause. I passed you on the other way around whereas we've been talking about trying to figure out your shirt like baseball nerd. What can i say. Did you notice the justin mason face in the background of your head news. Amazing now hangings amazing is. It took mike let i posted the patriots to. He's got your face iraq. He's so good at what he does joining us today as well as supposed to guess is matt williams matt. How're you doing friend. Pretty good i am. I'm excited in this weird time. Between when everyone is starting everyone that has done poorly this year and fantasy. Baseball starts the crawler way over to fantasy football. But we're still hanging in there for fantasy baseball towards championship season. he got. I gotta draft next weekend. I remember that. I i mean threes slow drops or no sorry. I'm in five slow drafts right now. And one of them is a three sport. The other the other four are football so those in the baseball this clock milk out the last possible. All my god did this is the. It's unbelievable how slowed is. This is the slowest draft. I've ever been part of In i'm losing my mind so for for those on i. I said on twitter There's a there's a special place in hell for people who use all of their clock on the turn and a slow draft in. When i mean that i mean like pick from the end the last round and then wait another four hours to make their pick of the first. Pick it up for Next and this draft was already slow and now this guy is doing this every time. he's actually going to be up here pretty soon And i'm gonna be poor. We're in the ninth round This drought has been going since monday. July it's i mean we're we're we're averaging like a round a day in nfl For our for drafted. I'm i it's actually sped up. I had complained in the chat as i drafted For the underdog drafts. You have have. Have you done the best puppy bowl drafts that have not one day. I got bored. And i'm like all right. I just joined ten of these things at once. Is they're all eight hour frigging clocks. I'm like i'll just throw them all on their on. I'll have something to do for quite a while. That was three weeks ago. I am still three. Five of them are still going on this drafts This draft is gonna be one of those drafts they actually have to speed up because They they won't they won't finish in time for the start of the season otherwise because it's it's just going so slow And it's it's a guillotine draft island for those who don't know what that is It is you ever the lowest scoring team. Each week is limited and they do this for baseball as well. And we've been talking about in the discord That we're going to put one of these together for next season because it seems like a whole fund but it means it's a seventeen team draft so now ya Not only are traffic. Slow people there. Seventeen people to be drafting weather. Sixteen others so yeah it's it's been brutal And i don't know who you are bid low but your shitless. Ob listens you is or is it a matter of he like does he like time out from time to time or are you lease literally. Just use the entire clock. Pics then uses entire clock picks. Yeah yeah no no he. He is not timed out as far as an. I'm the one who's picking right next to no so. I have to wait like the eight hours. Sometimes it's been six and a half hours. You know where he picks after three hours three and a half hours and then he waits three hours. Make this next bit old. Maybe they'll be breaking news just after he makes his second pick and you can just rub that his face and all series. That's what i was wondering. That's what he was doing is like especially over the weekend with these. Preseason games are happening. And you're like you're worried like this guy. Oh god he got hurt on the one drive. he was playing but enough. Footballs get back to based. Yeah not is covering football you also cover a ton of baseball around the industry so give us a little rundown of what you're doing now is i'll buy baseball work over at nbc sports edge. I do a lot of the hippie. The news desk work. If you see anything that looks overly sarcastic. that's probably me But other than i do a weekly column over there called by the numbers. Were just kinda. I try to break down some advanced stuff for people to look forward to especially down the stretch here. I've been trying to coach people through you know if if you if you have the ability to maybe overlook your batting average power like you know some some fun speed options. Like i've been trying to help. People navigate certain categories. Going down the stretch here nice. I always love your your snarky write ups over at an nbc sports edge. Because i read them every day. And then you throw your really good ones into our little chat. We've got so by the way if anyone needs speed. Derek hill lead not for the tigers today so fun. Who interesting all right. We're going to talk to each speed and nothing else. Sorry i mean phil go get who are still out there. we're gonna talk about Some news and some notes. And then we're going to talk about Some hitters some have been like a really really good players Now like my boy cedric mullins. Some have not been so good. Like cody bellinger. And i want to see where you guys are at for next year. Because somebody's some guys are going to be a little bit hard to rank sub but first. Let's start with the news kim. I ate leaves his start yesterday with forearm tightness This is concerning I'm guessing this means he's droppable for rest of this season if he does end up on the i l. matt but where are you taking him next year or you just gonna leave off..
"derek hill" Discussed on Behind the Steel Curtain
"The steelers needed to beat the five and ten bucks on the road. Have the colts raiders and bengals all lose which was not an easy feat because they were going for the playoffs as in fact the odds were so against this team that i knew about it unlike you and i like the l. I'm just going to enjoy the game. But they're not gonna get in. This all is not gonna happen. So the steelers go out to a fast start because of a lightning quick return by the world class. Sprinter rod woodson man. He was magic on the return. Man the seventy two yard return down. The left sideline set the steelers up at the tampa bay. Seventeen tim worley. Merril hodge took it from there man. That was a really good stable of runners. Tony behind the line finally intact alternating runs by number thirty three and number thirty eight five five four and finally a two yard. Plunge by the first round. Pick tim worley. Got the steelers on the board. After gary anderson point after the steelers lead seven nothing with two forty nine off of the clock only they started out strong. Tony and the running game was really doing it for the steelers. How about the first year man. Tim wurley on fire. I was really excited about him this year. I was really excited about him. Coming out of college back then. I was a big big running back. I wanted to be a running back when i was a kid so anytime anytime. They had a chance to draft. The running back in the first round was excited and he had a really great rookie year. Seven hundred plus yards. And what of way to start this game. You you're looking. You're playing against the opponent you need to win this game and then do some scoreboard. Watching rodwell returned the opening kickoff. Seventy two yards. I mean he was around special player all time great and he gave them what they needed. At that moment. The problem was tony. The home team had a lot of fight in them with vinny testaverde on the injured reserve. The bucks had a co on the oldest player in the game show ferguson to call signals behind center. Yeah ferguson was with the bills back in the seventies in fact. We did a game. Recently with joe ferguson blade so here he is old man foggy. Taking on the steelers. The steelers saw gerald williams have to exit on the very. First play from scrimmage you know how valuable a defensive lineman that guy was as he laid on the turf for a bit before making off of it from their tampa was able to run the ball well with james wilder and lars tate. Toting the ball tate. How to run of twenty nine yards on the drive ferguson than mixed the pass in as well with a twenty two yarder to sylvester stamps and passes to a pretty good receiver from that time. Mark carrier. Do you remember carrier tony. I sure did he was really good young receiver and i think he went on to play for the browns after this so if i'm thinking at the same players this is a good young talent. Steelers gonna have their hands full with him all day on third down. Ferguson's passed to carry your phone short but what's called for grabbing the back of the receivers jersey after forcing another third down. Joe found carrier in the end zone for a seventy yard score to tie it up at seven man. They've got a lot of fight those box. And you mentioned the joe ferguson. He was wildly old veteran like you. I was shocked to see him. Still playing in nineteen eighty nine. But he wasn't gonna go down without a fight neither where the buccaneers they were. They were playing for pride playing for the next season. So yeah. I was pretty worried at this moment. Bristow yet to throw a pass led his men of steel back onto the field. But they'd start off going backwards. When louis lips was called for a crack back block on first down so here they are at the fourteen yard. Line bubby went to is tight. End mike malarkey for twenty seven yards and then three consecutive runs by had the steelers in tampa bay territory. We talked about the excitement. Of mr tim worley. But merril hodge at the end of the season and the playoffs was magic. Tony he certainly was. He had one of the all time. Great runs for any back in franchise history as far as the end of the season and into the playoffs. I mean he was money and he started around. This time of the year is when he really got hot. So brister's back at it trying to get them into the end zone his through derek hill alone in the endzone well. It was wide so after missing. The lips harry newsome have come on to punt tampa then started moving the chains on their next series. But greg lloyd storm through the sack ferguson. And the bucks head a punt right after quarter to began. So let's check the scoreboard though. Real quick. The raiders in giants were tied at seven while new orleans held a three to nothing. Lead over indy. So you've got a tie going on there you've got the saints. Just three points over. Andy so look. Good so far but still scary. Tony certainly was especially that raiders game. That was than i wanted to be at that time but fortunately the opponents that these teams were playing a lot of also needed to win. That's what helps. Meanwhile in tampa that was the most important scoreboard. The steelers were ninety yards away from a score after worley. Ran for eleven on first down brister through a mid range pass complete to lips in number eighty three. Did the rest wow was. He electorate to talk a lot about how much we love. Louis lips you know. He was a six year man at this point and he was still getting done like crazy. The seventy nine yard catch and run made the tally fourteen. Seven with eleven fifty three left until halftime the steelers then forced a three and out and after a shank we're looking at nice field position from their own forty two but a series that included a non interception and john renshaw suffering an injury. The steelers endured a three and out of their own. Meanwhile mervyn fernandez of long. Pass from steve berlin. And the visiting la raiders with art shells or coach. Were up fourteen to seven on the new york football giants on the next series. It looked like the bucks. Were going to move the ball. Well especially with tim. Johnson getting nailed for encroachment. Twice two times. Tim johnson was a smart player. Tony but rod woodson knife through on third and short and tackled wilder floor a loss. You could always count on rod woodson back then whether it being against the pass or knifing through the a runner tony he was grand. He was when all time great cornerbacks the all time kick returns at least for in steelers history and he played ronnie played the pass. He did everything he was an all time. Great no matter what air he played in he would have been hall of famer on the punt..

We had the opportunity last week to talk to Michael Fulmer and I had asked him, you know, just about the way that the team was playing and not really knowing where the necessarily point the finger to is, you know, for as competitive as they have been playing outside of, you know, the management and the coaching staff and that that word belief and and former talked about it, and he said, You know what? You're exactly right. Like when you know where we're in the dugout. He kind of, you know, paraphrasing here, but They do have that strong belief in their manager that they can. You know he's going to put them in positions to be successful. They're going to get creative when they need to. And I think that we saw that yesterday with the suicide squeeze there at the end of the game in the 10th, and there's just there's seems to be a little bit of a spark within this within this club, Another guy who we talked about a lot last week, and the fact that no one's really talking about him, and I think that that's okay just because of the magical storybook start that he had. But a kill Bedu continues to continues to shine. He hit a little bit of a slump in it seems like he's worked his way through it, and he, uh, he seems like he's getting better every day. Oh, I think a lot of people are talking about him and for good reason, and it's not just as hitting its on base ability. It's the fact that his walk rate is twice as good Now as it was when he was going through that slump and his ability to learn he has been a sponsor. Choose out there every single day working with George Lombard in the outfield. Is doing the things that for example of wife some guys, I'm not saying all but some guys Can learn at the major league level and adapt quickly and A. J. Hinch leaves him in yesterday. Maybe in a really tough spot. There's a guy at second base. And Houston goes to the bullpen, and they bring in really a nasty left hander. And I remember during the break saying to Jack Morris, my partner on belly sports, a Would you pinch it? Miguel Cabrera here? And he said, Take a question. I'm not sure I said. I don't know if we want. Let's let's just leave that topical moment. It's something I'm thinking about right because I killed to do only had three hits against lefties all season marked a J. Hinch leaves him in there. And how about that single the right to tie it at one forced the extra innings and give Detroit a shop kid is really learning at a fast level. He's got a long way to go. Especially defensively. Everybody will tell you that At least he's willing to do. It hasn't hit the wall yet, and he's fought through the adversity A. J. Hinch is told this time and time again, trying to put him in spots that make him uncomfortable. And he passes the test. I'm just about every single time and it's really cool to watch because the kid has a great smile and has a passion for the game and is helping Detroit placing really fun Baseball. It really is amazing what you can accomplish when you do feel that sense of belief in that sense of support from those in a management position, and it doesn't matter any walk of life, whether in sales or Whatever the case may be, when you know that the leadership believes in you, it gives you a certain sense of. I don't know if it's like maybe maybe a calm or just a certain level of confidence that I think that you know everyone needs in order to perform at the best of their abilities. You just wonder why more management people don't do it that way? That's all in whatever. I mean, it's a good your point is valid. Um why don't more people who are in charge of other people. Even though you have high expectations, kind of have that belief and instill that belief in them and put them in situations where the successful instead of just looking at the bear numbers, a. J. Hinch I think has done a really nice job. Of knowing when to rest to kill the do which lefties to put him in it just because he gets that shit against a tough lefty and really doesn't mean that you now hit you make that's left his all the time. Pinches got the numbers and the field. That he combines and when he puts guys in certain situations, but do at the top of the line of sometimes sometimes at the bottom, but doing center Sometimes I'm left camera sometimes and centers, sometimes in right, sometimes in the middle of the line up. Sometimes down. He's president. A lot of the right buttons. That's because he's getting to know these guys These guys have bought full in and it's paying off for Matt Shepard play by play Voice of the Detroit Tigers on Bali, Sports, Detroit and ship We were actually posed this question last week, and I'll throw it to you because we still have some time to sort some things out. Strike one low and away, But we'll tell you where that bright field wall meets the center field Wall and Straw was about three giant strides from that spot. That's got to be at least 4, 25 or 30 of all is tattooed. Causes of the upright stance, feet close together holds fat upright, the hands below the right shoulder and the simplified stance that he learned in the offseason. Douglas takes strike on the outside corner. Let's help, too, has turned him around completely. And Derek Hill went to the same guy, and they got really of the same simplified stance you've talked about. You got rid of the leg kick, right? You feel that's helped him no doubt about it. The 12 Speaking. The line drive into center field will drop Straw lets a drop he thought about coming in and diving for it, but held up line drive single first trip to the order. Lots of good swings for tigers batter I'd say four or five really good swings, deep fly balls, hard hit balls. That's the first one that has dropped for a hit. He doesn't have is that when you look at odor is he doesn't have that one pitch you go. Wow, about His heyday that fastball Peters couldn't lay off that fastball above above the strike zone. And then of course you go down with the splitter, but you're just not seeing that good action. On either one of those pitches. So far. Jimmy Stone, just one splitter. Yes, that's a surprise. So you wonder? Is you waiting for the second trip to the order probably could be Spits to a queue. But do There is.

"That's deep, and that's trouble. But do Cameron on the run that's by him. He'll filled it on one hop in front of the warning track turns and gets it into Perretta sort of third won't be in time, and Lars Newt barred with his first major league hit in the Cardinal fans. Applaud drills a triple to straight away center. With one out here in the third, and I'll tell you what if Center fielder do could not get it. Not many people are going to get it, but that ball was absolutely touch it wicked. He rushed I mean, he just looked like you put it another gear when he when he saw he had a chance to get a triple when he rounded second base, it was another gear. Cameron fielded it on one hop with his back to home plate, got the ball in art, but New power is already on his way to third. Oh, man, he can pick him up and lay him down. That ball would go on the mantle also Infield inside home run now a triple first trip through the order against Matt Manning first pitch to Tommy Edmund fastball outside, so Matt Manning decides to go play baseball coach said. Get on the mountain groundballs softly Fouled on the first base line, so Matt Manning gets on the mountain closes a few games as a sophomore. Starts to pitch a little bit more that summer. For Derrick Hills Dad? Mm hmm, who ran a high school team out of the Dodgers organization down in L. A. So he's making that trip down to Sacramento to play for Derek Hills, Dad. Really Jim. He didn't start pitching much until well into his junior year. 11 pitch low and away. So he's absolutely wrong. I said. When did people start showing up to start scouting here? He said. Well, It started to look at the end of my junior year, I started to pitch a little bit more, and I had a good fastball said Didn't really have anything else. "And i'm going to say i'm pretty much an expert in movies from the late. Eighty s through the early ninety s We had a west coast video which was like in walking distance from my house and they would save the new films for us like remember it was really like a covert operation by say What can i say save. Batman was coming out they would keep one for us instead of putting it out on the shelf because everybody would like rush the shelves to get the movie But they would keep one for us which was cool and even give us stuff like thursday night instead of friday when it came out because they knew we'd watch it thursday night and have it back by friday. And i know this older couple rick and rene owned. I can't remember the last thing to him. Kills me but shutout to them for fuelling. My movie obsession but Fatman little boy is about the. I think it's the manhattan project on over the name of it is but it's about the bums that they tested in nevada or new mexico and This one scene has always stuck with me. John cusack having effects of radiation and it's eyes are bloodshot is hang gets puffy and i seen has always stuck with me but paul newman's in it. He's really good. And this is all throwback that we put on the other next. My my husband had just re what had watched manhattan which i didn't get into but basically watched it 'cause he was watching it but it was just want to get into it but that also looked really good so we through that on and just late eighties movies or so. It's if you don't know the at the Tom tom wolf's book the right stuff. There's also the early eighties. Movie with sam sheppard About the pilots who were recruited to be the first mercury astronauts. So it's a really good. It looks beautiful. The is just perfect. Color palettes perfect all of those spaceships and astronauts. On even how you do that. So great another throwback we watched was the front page with the walter matthau jack lemmon and a very young susan serandon. So it's really it's kind of funny. Spent an editor who tries to stop his like top reporter from retirement. Jack lemmon and there's like a ridiculous man on death row scenario with a hanging in the middle of the prison super weird but funny. Fun little throwback. I'd never seen it and then last night. I started the queen's gambling on net flicks holy. Hell it is good. I did three episodes right off. The bat couldn't stop stayed up way too late About like a nine year old orphan. "Welcome to decorating pages. I'm your host came up. I hope you're keeping safe and healthy. Hope everyone's getting some well deserved rest I think we're all deep into this. I mean people are Getting Shaggy. Hair salons and barbershops will probably be packed When everything opens up again and One of the good things feel like you have tried to keep in touch with people and I've been in touch with childhood friends and friends from college that I haven't spoken to in years at somehow. You just pick up the conversation and don't know if I would have had time to have reconnected like that so I'm grateful for that in this time. It's been a nice time to connect which is weird since we can't physically connect but I've emailed colleagues and also some people who have been on this podcast just to check in and see if they're okay. I asked a couple of what they're working situations. Were and what they think is going to happen to our industry when we all get back to work but emailed with production designer any bishop. And she's doing well. She misses working but is enjoying the traffic free mornings and he was working in Vancouver on a film in Pre production when she Went home for the pandemic in Australia. she thinks it'll be a slow roll out she says Nobody at the studios wants to make guesses about when it will be safe for at this early in the game. And that there will be safety protocols that the studios are developing that. They'll need to follow until or if there is a vaccine. I'd imagine we will be following new protocols and hopefully there will be antiviral drugs to treat and reduce the Cova soon so she's very helpful and Just a hopes that all of the good spirited things will continue on after this a pandemic because there's so much good happening out there she's right. It's good to focus on Matt Dawson. Check in with my friend. Location Manager Caleb Duffy. He's doing well and keeping saying he. He's been talking to other location. Managers the permit office in La Friends and producers and he said there's a lot of good ideas out there like sanitation zones onset Essential crew only reducing crew sizes casting from video. Link table reads video link He said Sweden is getting ready to open up with a lot of these elements on their production industry. So I guess they'll wait and see how that's going to happen and maybe a miracle take off from that productions. That can stay on a studio lot with low amount of crew would be the first most likely open up. L. A. is having a call next Thursday to start setting up these plans Into place and there'll be some more solid information than so. He said he'd keep me updated. Which I hope I will then pass along to you and I talked to my good friend Ethan. Goodwin who I'm working with and who we sit up happy hour every Thursday. He said he would hope that. Once we are able to return to work the decorating crew is given the space and time to address the sets without working around painters and grip ladders in the spirit of social distancing that could be one silver lining for us and I concur always on top of each other so that would be nice. I emailed with production designer Derek Hill whose daughter Michelle lives in Salt Lake City works in an Er hospital there. But her and her group of fifty doctors nurses and nurse. Practitioners went to New York City last week to aid the New York Presbyterian hospital with the overload of Corona Virus She is working twelve hour shifts. She's been there a week now since we've emailed and so. I hope she's doing well. Let's say a prayer for her and what bravery that is to Commit like to the job and to help people get well. I can't applaud her. More Dirk was on a WBC W pilot that was shooting in North Carolina when it was shut down and he has no word yet on his return. No one on the crew studio has given gotten ill from corona virus so that was a positive. He said that positive health conditions were already set is standard on his set. Plenty of clorox wipes in hand sanitizer. The hit ended openness of craft service tables cater had developed a cleaner situation with rap utensils plates and glasses etc. Derek had some good thoughts about how we can get back to work safely and I think it's probably something we're all thinking of a lot of examples that he set forth were a specific Cova nineteen medic on set at all times become a cleaner healthier stages fulltime cleaners Better restroom ratios Ample Office space printers. I mean you have no idea how we all share the same printer and that's kind of a big thing. So yeah he's right new printer and more printers Maybe box lunches or crew has stipends to provide their own food We're gonNA need gloves masks. Each and every day and more than one set adhere to no more than twelve hours so that the pre cleaning crews have the proper time to make inset this stages that are safe to work on stop lay calls on Friday the carryover into Saturday mornings favor of working split calls so the days worked are within the same days. Coup lunches staggered know outside visitors to set everyone. Where safety badge extra medics around? No one no large crowds mean. He's he's right. I mean we're thinking about this. He adds that prop houses are construction. Suppliers needs to have the same health standards all of our vendors he feels that production designers and art directors could do meetings over zoom Set designers graphic designers could work remotely scouting could be done From location files to DROPBOX SCOUT FANS will have to be rethought so I say Tech Scouts. He says I just think you know he's dead on and it's it's a lot of things and this is only our department. I mean I'm sure electric's has the same concerns and transport owned wardrobe. And so it's a lot to figure out but I am thankful that my friends checked back in with me and I hope everyone's doing good so this week on. What's one of watching? I'm watching Mrs America and Manda Laurean. Mrs America is just gorgeous. I get so jealous when I see sets like this. They are beyond layered with character. The Color Palette is just perfect period saturated colors the wardrobe is coordinated perfectly with this great acting. It's just really fun and I find it. The subject matter is just perfectly timed right now with women working from the home and juggling their families really enjoying it. I think I'm I'm caught up. Whatever episodes on this week's episode for I love it I also started delorean which nother gorgeous show in. Its own right now. As I've said many times I would die to do a star wars film film just so impressed of how these sets are designed and dressed the imagination and creativity. It's so inspiring. Just love it. I liked the show. Little Iota is adorable. But I'm trying to figure out he's not Yoda right. 'cause I looked it up. This is set twenty five years after return of the Jedi. But I'm only on episode five so I haven't figured out if that's really Yoda yet. Figure I guess I'll I guess I'll find out. I should also say I forgot to comment on the design of Ozark three in my last episode. The steamboat casino is fantastic That staircase feels like the titanic staircase or something Really Fun and a hell of a season and I think they do those characters so well in their own environments just great show to watch in this episode two of my interview with production designer. David Rotman I discuss hiring overseas crew. Working with super talented set decorators his design process on life pie and working with emily. And then I totally.

Quist he was fired. Paul men heart replaces him that was after the game and a little league type of performance from Noah Syndergaard. You got a solo shot the games loan also fired a complete game shutout ten strikeouts. Mets blank the reds one to nothing. He becomes the first pitcher to do that. And the best thing on that. Is this frigging Jesse Winker from the red? Okay. It's hilarious. What happened here? A larry. Because I was telling you moose the day the day before about budgets off air. I was very bombed by him because he caught a a ball left. Field foul ball game the other day, and he thought heckling the met fans, and like wave with them how we won you lost that type thing I said this to you move so things. Well, you know, I'm sure he was getting a lot while he was playing field the whole gang anyone's. He basically said, well, you know, met fans, they talk a lot. And then he goes not a lot of them, which is like. He takes show stadium. Right. It was right about that. A lot of people. What was it rainy day tonight? But you know, I guess it was a day game. Don't matter. The best part is Jesse Winker. So he's got he watches those synagogue just drill home run over his head just right lifting watch the Bongo. Then when he struck out looking at believe already struck about synagogue struck him out at supper, I guess then he gets the game when he was right because it wasn't a strike and Auburn balls and strikes with the right as he gets the game. Now, he goes in the dugout these frigging pissed fans heckling them now imagine he takes his helmet. His batting flips hits his teammate ahead. I sort of it it was a sterile. So he had a lot of bad Comecon his way while the kids from buffalo from the from up in buffalo. And and then I was reading New York he grew up Derrick jeeter fan, actually. So I guess he was a Yankee fan. But yeah, he looked he's she's like he's taking pride and being like the Mets most hated guy villain. He does. But look out saying the mic be before a show. Chipper Jones was a big. Villain. Okay. Put a brave but Chipper Jones of great player jesse's to twenty four right now. Okay. Hi is not a great physicality twenty four or five years, and he's not shipping. John listen in fans could have fought. And no poke fun baton and the Mets were victorious previous night, the the reds Louisville. But now that that's fine. But if you know if fans are saying, whatever they want you as you're out in the outfield. And then you catch the, you know, the ending, you know, a foul wall to the game. Yeah. Should you? Not then poke fun back at them, take the high. That everyone's going to sit that if we're paid customers in methods. We don't we don't. Classic. I'm not saying that are feds aren't class. That comes parcel was sitting out there. You're going to get on the outfielder by son's been too easy Yankee fan, but he's field. Lots of games he grew up but Yankee fan, so he's been a both. And he says to me is less summit goes that I got to tell you met fans when you go to the stadium. He goes there. Just a lot of angry Yankee fans he said as far as the stadium in general in life never mind, you just work here. He's like they re the misery and the mess will winning the game. He went, and he was still pissed, but that's the way you grow up as well. You're very angry group very angry. When he got tossed all seventy four fans that were in the craft. Gotta get a chance to wave Winker was eighty five. In the ninth struck effort. Syndergaard forget it was that come in and pinch hit for him. He wanted up going down on the next pitch goes to Winker ledger down. The other the other night. I was listening on the radio broadcast and how he rose goes the announce crowd is twenty three thousand ninety five and this was toward the tail end of the game. Is there aren't there? Aren't that many is still in attendance of this one goes, and I have a hard time believing. There was any at any point tonight. Was that many people in the stands? Not even. That turn event is. I don't think there was ever twenty two thousand people in the stance that it was Louis Ketziot, by the way, we hit the helmet hitting the head when he slammed his helmet, and it was pretty it. Loops and not the infamous Louis, Kathy. Yeah. We got a tweet out. We'll get we'll get it through the former one the methods would have been three zero.
