Titans put Packers back to reality with 27-17 win | THE HERD

"It wasn't the legs of Derek Henry that powered the Tennessee Titans past the Green Bay Packers 27 17 at Lambeau Field It was a pair of arms Oh Henry got his 87 on the ground with a touchdown but he also threw a three yard TD pass and Ryan Tannehill went 22 of 27 for 333 yards and two more Guys are making please You know we had opportunities We took advantage of some underneath stuff that they were giving us and then when we had opportunities down the field took advantage of those as well So we just proud of our guys the way it came out and competed tightened defense took away green based ground game while Aaron Rodgers hit rookie Christian Watson twice for scores wasn't enough Packers dropped to four and 7 Tennessee improves to 7 and three

"When he's an analyst for ESPN? Yeah, I mean, look, they have the clip last week, right that he was ripping the Raiders. And that's who they're playing this week in his first game. So it's unique and we've never seen anything like it in the NFL. But what I've heard from a lot of people who work with Jeff Saturday, they said, two things can be true. He's great. He could be great, but they're probably could have been better way to do this. We talked about scoring being down. You know, one of the teams that relies on that running game and playing good defensive Tennessee Titans, they go to Kansas City last week with the bat with The Rookie quarterback Malik Willis obviously is not the answer and you can't hit the ball to Derek Henry 30 times a game and expect to win. They get Tannehill back this week and they're going to get trailing Burke's back this week. Is that going to be enough to take the pressure off of a guy like Derek Henry? I think so. And one thing we saw in the first three and a half quarters of that game last week is what a good coach Mike rabel is, right? I mean, he gets the most out of that team year after year after year. They haven't had a sensational quarterback. They have a great running back. The best in the league probably and if they've had a good defense, so I think yeah, I think you get Burke's back and get Tannehill back. You can start giving your off because once they got to fourth quarter, once mahomes took over, the Titans had no answer. And Taylor hill is gives him an opportunity for an answer. But I think if we're able to just show what a good job he does, getting the best out of his team. So now with the bears playing the Lions today, what is the defense's answer to shutting down a Jamal Williams or Deandre swift. The bears defense run defense has not been good. Of course, the lion's defense hasn't been good either. Yeah, it could be a track meet today. It's funny, you think of the lions and bears historic franchises. You don't think high scoring game, but they've had a few in the past few seasons. I think you look at a guy like Jack Sanborn, thought a nice first game gets his feet wet. Does he play a little bit even better today? Nick morrow gets more comfortable at his new spot at the week side linebacker, but you're really asking for those guys at the front of the defensive line. You know, the Angela blacks and Justin Jones, arman watts, the great fourth three defenses we saw here, the Ted washingtons of the world. Obviously, these guys aren't anywhere close to that level. But that's what you need out of those defensive linemen is to take up blockers of the linebackers come through and make those stops. So how do they go about doing that today? Again, Jamal Williams, this is a guy who is, you know, he's 4.3 yards of carry, which is not dramatic, but he's got 8 touchdowns this year, and then swift, who's been banged up some was upset over the way he was used last week or not used very much last week, probably will get a lot more carries, and he comes in averaging better than 7 yards of Karen. Yeah, well, here's one guy to maybe keep an eye on. How about you Quan brisker? You know, this is someone they drafted and one of the reasons they love pairing with Eddie Jackson. He's good in the box. And I think he had some trouble earlier on the season almost too aggressive sometimes. And he admitted that he takes that one extra step to wrap up mate that tackle. Does he become a key to the right events? I think if you're the bears, right? You're comfortable putting the game in Jared Goff's hands today, aren't you? I mean, golf did a pretty solid season, but I think that you'll take that with Jalen Johnson Eddie Jackson in the background. So I would imagine that they're going to do what they can to stop the run game. Yeah,

"Yeah, well, I will tell you that I would disagree with you. He doesn't need to stop. He just needs to play better. That would solve. I just have the feeling, James. They ain't going to stop. This is who he is and this is what he does. And so he's not going to stop. So he's got to play better. So I mean coming off a bye week and coming off a game in which they found a little bit of rhythm. They came back and won a game in London. How much faith do you have that they can travel down to Tennessee and get their get their season back on track? Well, it is the tipping point game. If they win that game and move to four and 5, then all of a sudden you look at it's able to raiders are coming in here, they stink, maybe you can get to 500 and then anything's possible. But if you lose at Tennessee and your three and 6, now you're in a hole, it's hard to it's hard to see yourself digging out of. So it's the tipping point game. The Titans are good. I mean, they had the chiefs on the ropes last night, but they are one dimensional, even with Ryan Tannehill. Their receivers don't scare anybody. So that is an offense. It's all about Derek Henry.

For your small business needs, call a Dell Technologies adviser today. At 8 7 7, ask Dell, Harry, get to it. Number one number one, right now I have an NFL as the Green Bay Packers. There are 12 and three, the best record in the NFL, they just locked up the number one C, everything in the playoffs in the NFC has to go through Green Bay. Lambeau Field, the frozen tundra. Also, you have that dynamic connection between Aaron Rodgers and devonta Adams, not to mention, I want to bring up two defensive guys. Devonte Campbell, leading team and tackles right now has been great for this team. Rosu Douglas only played 11 games where he has 5 interceptions lead this team as well. So that's why they are my number one team. Number two, my number two team will be the Tennessee Titans. Yes, they currently hold the number one seed in the AFC. Now, there's no team in the National Football League that takes the mindset of their head coach. Mike vrabel in the Tennessee Titans. Right now, I think a lot of people forget the stretch at the Tennessee Titans has had. They beat the chiefs, they beat the bills, they beat the coach twice, they beat the rams, they beat the saints. They beat the forty-niners. All these teams are going to the playoffs are fighting to go to the playoffs right now. That's a lot to be said. Name another team in the National Football League that has had those wins this season thus far. That's why the Tennessee Titans are my number two team. Number three number three the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and I will continue to say this weekend and week out. As long as they have a guy named Tom Brady, who is the goat, the greatest of all time, they have a chance. They still have grump. They still have Mike Evans. They have Cameron break. They have OJ Howard. They're going to get some other guys coming back for playoff time. So I still believe in this team until someone else proves me otherwise. Number four number four, the Kansas City Chiefs. I had the Kansas City Chiefs right here. When I look at this game that they just played against the Cincinnati Bengals, that game could have went either way, a couple different defensive calls by stinks Magnolia and they probably could have got a win. I also look at the simple fact that this offense only scored three points in a second half, but at the end of the day, they have that trio, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and tyreek hill. 5. Number 5, I have the Arizona Cardinals. And the reason why I have the Arizona Cardinals right here is because they just beat the Dallas Cowboys. And yes, they put it all together. They were hitting on all cylinders on offense. Kyla Murray was thriving. Kyle Murray didn't turn the football over. Nobody else on offense turned the football over. The defense didn't have stupid and crazy penalties. They played lights out, Buddha baker. Isaiah Simmons played lights out football against the Dallas Cowboys. So that's why I have them as my number 5 team. That's my top 5. There's a lot to chew on there, my friend. Let's talk, Chris, let's talk. Okay. Here's the deal. Talk to me. I couldn't agree with you more in the Tennessee Titans. They're just not getting enough love. And what they have done this year, and you really encapsulated it brilliantly there, Harry, because the teams they have beaten are of such quality along the way that it is happened in such a quiet fashion the way they operate. Yeah. You don't even realize just how good they are. And I think that's going to work to their advantage down the stretch of the season. And they've done it all without Derek Henry, but they may not have to do it without Derek Henry much longer. Here's toron Davenport, ESPN's NFL nation, Tennessee Titans reporter. They're expecting him to be ready to go. And that's why it's so significant for them to get this home field advantage so they can have them out there on the natural grass and he worked out today and he has worked out ran on the field with on cleats. You know, with his cleats on last week and he's just gradually worked his way back into being able to play football and, you know, we're talking about what 8 weeks it's been, I believe that if they wanted him to play this week and he could do that. He could do it. You know, and they expect him to be there for him in the first game of the playoffs. That's the expectation for them, whether that's the wild card round order divisional route. All right. You played with him. Yeah. This is a foot injury. Can Derek Henry B Derek Henry when he comes back. Yes, he can. And I'll tell you this, Chris, you know how we talk about Antonio Brown and how hard he works in when it comes to playing the game of football and just work ethic. Derek Henry might be better. Derek Henry is a workaholic. He's a no nonsense guy. He brings his hard head in his lunch pill every day to work. All he knows is the grind. All he knows is how to work hard. So I believe that he can do it. And the Tennessee times getting the number one seed is very, very important because now you guaranteed, first round of first round buy and you get an extra week for dick hearing to be able to come back. And then you're playing on grass. You're playing on grass until you have to reach the Super Bowl. That's very important coming from coming off a foot injury

And who's coming in in your house? Russ, and he's cooking. You got 11 points. Let's ride. How about let's ride this? Let's go. Let's go, and if you're up 20 to nothing, let's finish it. Because if you lose your Owen for. Oh, and four. And Russ and everything that's going on with Nathaniel Hackett, and the, you know, game management coach. And weirdness of the play calling and javonte Williams, just like getting almost as many snaps as Mike Boone, that team could be three in one. Huge game in Vegas. And then you got Tennessee and Indianapolis. So yeah. Last time, this matchup took place. Remember Derek Henry, despite winning an overtime because Carson Wentz made a stupid ass throw. The only way to describe it. Derek Henry broke his foot, remember? I do. These two teams weird stuff happens. And boy to the Tennessee Titans need to win. If they win, they'll be at two and two. And the colts will be one, two and one. And Jacksonville could lose in Philadelphia. Hey, Tennessee just like Cincinnati might be your restarted owing to, but look at us now. Or the colts. "Really what you're envisioning in your first year as an offensive coordinator, getting that opportunity that all your studs are not on the field simultaneously. The one thing though when you look at Todd downing that he absolutely had control of was his ability to adapt and adjust. And he just never did it. And it's fine that the Titans want to be this run dominant team and bully you in the trenches. But when you're 30th, in early down rushing success, right? In your 26th, the EPA precarious and 26th in yards per carry on early downs. You do have to slightly change some things up, especially knowing how effective play action is on early downs. But it just didn't matter. Whether it was Derrick Henry in the game or a bunch of backups after Derek Henry got injured. You mean, when you have a freaking nature in Derek Henry, you should change your game plan when you have Deontay foreman as your lead back going forward. I mean, pain, come on now, Todd downing saw something that nobody else in the football world did that there was no drop off at the position. There are actually oddly when this will probably piss some Titans fans off. If you look at the metrics, if you look at the metrics, Derek Henry's explosiveness dwindled last season. And when you look at the early down runs with Derek Henry versus Devante forman, he could have if he didn't know their names and just kind of put him up on a blank resume. They were identical. It was weird from that perspective that downing just didn't adapt at any point. Just throw a little bit more in early downs, use the play action. Everyone's thinking, run. And you look at the Titans like that efficiency. That's partly why this offense just regressed. Fourth to 26th and early down EPA per rush year over year. That's kind of what happened here. It happened for a lot of reasons. Predictability, obviously. Defense is daring Tannehill to beat them a little bit more. And then you look at the 8 man boxes that this team faced. Foreman, for D 7 percent of carries he saw an 8 plus man box. It was the highest rate in the league Derek Henry, faced 8 plus man box on 37% of his carriage. And part of it was also the offensive line play. Dipped a little bit. Titans went from second to 16th and adjusted line yards. Fourth to 21st and second level rush yards. So very little space created to get to that 5 to ten yard run window. The offensive line isn't creating as much space. Derek Henry's missing substantial time explosive runs diminished. You go back to that 2019 season where it was pretty historic for the Titans. They were the third most explosive offense. Last season 24th. Suspended first 11 games, breaking news to Sean Watson. 11 game suspension. That just hit me as we are recording this right now. Interesting. You figured it was a matter of time. I wasn't sure what the number was going to look like. Was there a monetary fine attached to it as well? I didn't see that, but just what popped up on my screen right now in my little alert section. So it doesn't have the full detail. It just kind of says, boom, 11 game suspension. We all cached our bets on the over 6 games that we told you was an absolute certainty when we broke down the AFC north division. 11 games. That's injury. Feels like the right number, right? They weren't going to take 12 roger wanted 12. You kind of come in at 11. My guess is the fines what? Got to be somewhere in the $5 million range I know. I was going to say somewhere in that 5 to ten nights in 8 floated around before, but at that point when you're making 240, I mean, it probably becomes a rounding error in the deshaun Watson fortune. That is correct. Boy, did he look a little rusty there in that opening game. Where were we? We were talking about the Titans offensive. Yeah, and the lack of the explosive plays and everything else we've seen them kind of fall off a little bit. Yeah, so you kind of look at that diminishing explosiveness and part of it's also Ryan Tannehill's play fell off a little bit. Where he was really effective was in play action and it doesn't seem like a massive amount, but from that 2019 season compared to last year play action passes dipped about 2% in totality, the efficiency declined as the run game wasn't garnering as much respect. And then the receiving corps was constantly injured. Tannehill went from a one 41 passer rating best in the league in 2019 with play action to a 96 passer rating last year 25th among qualifying quarterbacks. You look at some of the receiver injuries who talked about, put some of it was also Todd downing, changing the route trees. It would seem. The other thing that came crashing down in terms of the explosiveness was you look at Ryan Tannehill's depth of target. That started to diminish as well. In 2019, Ryan Tannehill had the third highest intended air yards per pass, dipped to 25th last season. The offense was predictable. It was inefficient on early downs and not aggressive through the air when it did elect to pass. Now you look at the injuries, it's tough. Ryan Tannehill certainly took a step back. I think we knew what he was and probably us a little bit better. I'd watch so many dolphins games. We've seen him clam up in big moments. And when things weren't perfect around him and he had things perfect around him for about an 18 month stretch with the Titans. And again, you look around town, only 11% of his drop backs last season had Derek Henry AJ Brown or Julio Jones on the field at the same time. We saw when those three guys were on the field, ten averaged 9.4 yards per pass attempt. When all three were off the field, it dipped to 5.2 yards for tan hills. Quarterbacks need guys around him. But that drop off was massive. And now we know age of brown's gone. Julio Jones is gone. Derek Henry turns 29 in January. He has a lot of mileage on the tires.

Stink Reacts to ESPN's List of Top 10 NFL Running Backs

"So stink yesterday, the top ten running backs in the NFL came out. Okay? Derek Henry number one. Yeah. Jonathan Taylor number two, Nick Chubb and Cleveland. Number three, Dalvin cook in Minnesota. Number four, Alvin Kamara. Number 5 in New Orleans. Joe Mixon and Cincinnati, number 6. Christian McCaffrey, Colorado is one of those favorite sons, Christian McCaffrey, number 7. Nausea Harris, number 8. Aaron Jones and Green Bay, number 9. And then you get to number ten on the list from the people in the sport, the top ten players at every position. Javonte Williams came in at number ten on this list, your reaction, your reaction is what? My reaction is it shows you the respect that people evaluators and people who play and coach and GM in this league, the respect they have for that guy as a player because that guy, unlike most of these guys, most of these guys are pretty much Bel cow guys. That dude was a true split. So you're talking about a guy that truly split the carries. And this league has gone that way to where there's different guys that have different skill sets and play in different packages and different situations. But the majority of these guys, if you're going to run it 25 times, they're getting 18 or 19 of those carries. And javonte was truly a 50 50 guy.

"They were, whether you want to use the word humiliated, maybe that's not the best word to describe how you feel when you lose. But I think there is some of that in there when you don't have success. You're disappointed. And you know, guys are much more motivated to they have a tough time shaking that feeling. So they're much more motivated to do it. But every team is different. You know, like we should have had 9 starters back on offense and I don't defense. We got 6 guys that go out for the draft. So now we got 5 back on offense and 7 back on defense. So it seems like you're always your roster changes a little bit more in this day and age. So you always have a few more challenges. And that's okay. I mean, we love the challenges, but it also creates opportunity for other players. How do you personally coach given all that you've accomplished? People ask me all the time. How long is coach going to go? I said, well, forever. I feel like, given all that you've accomplished, I know you get great personal satisfaction by teaching kids and teaching and bringing a team together and chasing a championship. So how do you personally guard against complacency, knowing everything that you have to celebrate you've accomplished in all of your career? Well, you know, I just can't stand to see people not do things the right way. It drives me absolutely crazy. Because my whole goal was a coach is to get everybody to reach their full potential, to be the best version of themselves, that they can be personally academically and athletically. And it's almost like you're sabotaging yourself if you're not trying to be that. And somebody has to create sort of a path for you to be able to call it the process call it whatever for you to be able to accomplish the goals that you have. And to show you how you have to edit your behavior to do it and how sometimes these behaviors are not helping you do that. And this drives me crazy. I too, maybe I'm maybe I'm a perfectionist, I don't know. I will survive really don't know. But it just drives me up a tree. I see guys not do things from an effort standpoint from a toughness standpoint from a responsibility to know what to do, how to do it, why it's important to do it that way. I mean, so it creates a standard. When you sort of have that disposition and, you know, and then it becomes a part of the culture, you know? You say it before to me. That's not the Alabama way. Because we've always established that. You established that when you were here, Julio established when he was here, Hightower did. All the players that played here, Derek Henry, all of them, sort of established that. And now they have an expectation of what that supposed to be. Well, I have an expectation of what it's supposed to be, too, and when I see players that aren't like doing that, it drives me up a tree. So is that what motivates me? I guess. I can't exactly, but I also know that, you know, if you don't continue to do the things at a high level, that you're not going to have success. And when you allow people to do things that are done incorrectly and create bad habits, those habits are going to show up and fundamentally affect their ability to create value as well as create value as a team. So. I just I don't like losing. I think you know that.

"To your defense. Saints types. All right, so these are two just super weird teams right now. And I guess we'll start with the with the Titan side of it and we've all kind of wonder, okay, Derek Henry's out, what's gonna happen? What's gonna happen? And it kind of hasn't mattered? Offensively to this point. I mean, this is offense. They're averaging 3.7 yards per play over the last two weeks, and they left with winds in both games. So it really hasn't mattered that they have not been able to answer that question of what they're going to be post Derek Henry here and know Julio Jones in this one either, but right now they're doing it with defense and they're doing it with whatever you want to chalk it up to. They have gotten timely turnovers, deep in opponent territory. They got one on the second half kick-off that turned into immediate points. And that is why the Titans are winning games right now. Big turnovers and easily replicable thing. Gary, as you know, one of those things that a team could just depend on weekend and week out. So awesome that the Buccaneers are the Titans can have that for the long term. But yeah, I don't know. I mean, I think that there is an element of and I'm not saying that Derek Henry is not important. Please don't take what I'm about to say is Derek Henry is not important. But there is an efficiency to this offense that I think that you can somehow get the kind of more granular effect of with this platoon of running backs. And the fact that they're running away with it so significantly makes it seem like and again, their end of season strength of schedule, I believe they have the friendliest end of season schedule left in the NFL. They have the easiest second half schedule remaining in the NFL. Like they could easily be the number one seed in the AFC and then get dare Henry back after a biweek, right? I mean, you know, this is not out of the realm of possibility. It seems like they're sort of setting themselves up for that. Yeah, and Connor, the AFC has been so strange this season that it's hard to find a team that you feel like you can count on week to week. The Titans are probably the closest thing to that, even though they did lose to the jets earlier this season. And it's just sort of strange because they now don't have their best offensive weapon. It hasn't mattered the last two weeks. At the same time, I will say that the saints could have won this game. They were in position two or they at least had a chance. There was that awful, roughing the passer call, Ryan Tannehill, that's kept that drive alive and for the Titans to score a touchdown early in the game. So it wasn't a dominant performance by the Titans by any means. But the fact that they're still continuing to win games and still have a clear lead in the AFC post Henry injury. I think your right Connor is very possible that they could get through this softer final stretch and have a chance to get him back. I have only the utmost respect for Ryan Tannehill, but I can not believe the two roughing the passer flags he's gotten..

"So those are my top 5 MVP candidates all quarterbacks, of course, Derek Henry. I just can't put them in there, even though I want to. But he will not be back for the rest of the regular season. And so he had to be omitted, but if he was healthy, you'd better think I would have had him in there. So those are my top 5 candidates. Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, and Tom Brady. Now I'm going to give you my midseason team. I had to assemble my roster through 9 weeks so far, who would I want? Quarterback, Tom Brady, I just outlined it for you. He is the MVP to me so far this season is I've explained the high quarterback rating passer rating, a yard of a touchdown throws. What better quarterback would I want? And if I just want to go off some legacy stats, motion wins of all time, a playoff win 7 super bowls broke the all time passing yard mark this year as well. There's no other quarterback I would want on my team than Tom Brady and he's making that statement ever more true. 9 weeks through the season. So far, Tom Brady is the goat and I'd want him as my quarterback and he'd to me is the best quarterback so far through 9 weeks. Running back, Derek Henry. Yes, dary Henry, guess what? Didn't play this weekend still injured. And he still has the highest rushing yard mark. He has the most yards 937. 120, more than the next best at Jonathan Taylor. And he's played a less game he has ten touchdowns, which was the most until James Conner added a few this weekend. So that's tied for one averages the most yards per game at a 117. Had the longest or had to be fastest run as well as a ball carrier. Derek Henry has the size as well the stiff arm of package. He is the best running back in the NFL. It's terrible that he's had to have this injury..

"A lot of the questions we have about what the offense of identity will look like without Derek Henry or still there because he was not only the foundation of the offense. He was also their closer, their home run hitter. So he was unique in that way that he was so many different things that you don't always see a running back. When is your running back your home run hitter? That's very rare to see in today's NFL. But yeah, Adrian Peterson pretty quiet night, but he scores the touchdown in the fourth quarter that really put things away for the Titans, of course, as you reference, there's a very questionable roughing the passer call in which Aaron Donald basically had like a very light two handed push on Ryan Tannehill and I don't really see any world in which that could be a penalty. There's other questionable calls sometimes that come up like last week was Mac Jones, but you could see at least in the spirit of the role there was very slight contact with the helmet. It was not significant in any way, but you could see at least with that call. They were saying, okay, to the letter of the law, any contact with the head and neck area, no matter how qualifies. But this, I just don't see which criteria it meets for roughing the passer and that ultimately, as I said, kept that drive alive for a decisive score and really made it so that the rams weren't going to be able to mount a comeback. Sometimes you just feel it in your heart that man has been roughed as what you say to yourself and you just throw a flag. That one was that. And look at obviously that did not affect the outcome of the game to be clear. It was just boy, it was a head scratcher. But once yeah, once the rams didn't convert the fourth and one, it was basically over at that point. But it was like the final nail on the coffin burn. Yes. And it was the, you know, as they said, multiple times on the telecast. The ramps had been the least penalized C the NFL. They had 12 or one 15, which is just a staggering total for any team, let alone them. And yeah, look, Jenny, I'm glad you mentioned the big play ability of Derek Henry in how he's our home run hitter. Longest play for the Titans tonight was 16 yards. And again, no, no big broad conclusions to draw here. They were playing from they were playing with a lead. Basically for the last 35 minutes of this game, 40 minutes of this game, but yeah, you know, if you had questions about the offense, you still have questions, but maybe you're just looking at the defense me like, huh, this might be a much better unit.

"Is Henry. We'll see. Another, by the way, we already did XFL AF legends. What about when Tony Pollard goes in the game for Zeke? Still pretty good. But still pretty good. Not as good also, you're looking at a little differently here because I think we overrated Ezekiel Elliott for a long time. That's what I would say about that rookie season he was amazing. He was, but let's not also forget for the majority of his career, he's run behind the top three offensive line in the NFL. Like the offensive line dictates running back successful time. Thank you. That's the point, right? That's what that's why a guy like AP can step in for Derek Henry. But what I'm telling you is the offensive line and a good system of football well. I'm not saying, look, I'm not saying that running backs are solely responsible for their own success. But what I'm saying is, Derek Henry, it's different. Derek Henry can generate his own success regardless of the offense. You can't tackle patriots. The Patriots play the Titans, was that week 12? Yeah. I think it is. And there's a chance that Derek Henry might not play in that game, but at least we're gonna have a sample size of what four games. I think it is of Adrian Peterson in there for I'm not saying that he's gonna be as good as Derek Henry, but I'm saying that it's actually three games. Week 12, three games right after Thanksgiving is when the Patriots play the Titans. I'm not saying that it's going to be as good as Eric Henry. I'm saying that you're not going to notice a huge discrepancy just like you will. There's having noticed a huge discrepancy with choba hover on the ground. So here's what I'd say. Derek Henry and I can't remember the exact number. I found this data a long time ago and I can't refine it. But when the NFL, and this is going to send you through the roof, but this is for everybody else. When the NFL stats tackles, there's two kinds of tackles. They're solo tackles in combo tackles. The highest percentage of, you know, for any ball carrier, the highest percentage of combo tackles. So the guy who is hardest to tackle one on one last year was Derek Henry, and he was something like 15 points ahead of the next closest player. You spent that's beyond the offensive line because the offensive line gets him the hole, but no other player refuses to be brought down by the first person to come tackle them other than Derek Henry, and that's where I go back to that combination. The only comparison I can think of for that was prime Rob Gronkowski because when Gronk was in his back, right? When he was at like 2013 when he had that massive season, right? 2011 was 2011. Did he go back, remember the plane Washington where he's carrying three guys down the sideline? The first person to Rob Gronkowski never made the tackle. Never. That's what Derek Henry does that job doesn't do it. Elliott doesn't do it. Khmer doesn't do it. None of them do it. Derek Henry, it's on another level because the offensive line. All right, well we'll see because like I mentioned,.

"Okay, so there's a reason why if, you know, you win a Super Bowl or if a quarterback a famous quarterback like Peyton Manning Tom Brady both known for this. You know, they go win a Super Bowl. They go get an MVP. What happens? They go and buy their entire offensive line something. Because they know they can they could not have done it without those 5 guys in front of them. Running backs who, you know, break 2000 Derek Henry, great running back. Without that run blocking in front of them, I promise you he's not got a thousand yards rushing already. You know what I mean? This is how it is. Johnson Taylor right now is getting 5.5 yards per carry so far this season. And if it wasn't for the run blocking in front of them, he'd be lucky to get four yards of carry. It's just how the NFL works. And people are so, you know, right off the bat, looking at those individual players and those prime spots at the running back or the quarterback or something of that nature, and not want to give the credit where a lot of that credit should be due because like you said, Joe Flacco wouldn't have won that Super Bowl without a good offensive line. Would not have won a Super Bowl without no veg strength. He knows too. He goes, too. Yeah, exactly, right? So, I mean, you've got to give credit to these guys occasionally. And I love the fact that a lot of people, a lot of content creators like you and I, we will do that occasionally. We're like, you know what? Had he not picked up that blitz in the time that he in that timely fashion that he did with had his head on a swivel and picked it up. This quarterback would not have had time to find that open receiver and hit him for that game winning touchdown. You know? It's very, very simple, quick thing. How much do you think? So I hate fantasy football. And if you have sponsors or even football say nothing. But I abhor fantasy football. It's the way that it's brewing. I think the way a lot of people look at the game, we focus on stats and numbers and the things that are sexy and not on the context that would actually win football games. And I just think in so many ways, I maybe I'm a purist I don't know how to put a better way.

"It's also crazy Derek Henry is 27 years old. At which is about the beginning of the end of someone's prime in the NFL for running back at least. And I wonder how much longer can dare Henry play at a really high level the way he is, because the dude is 27 entering he's in year 6 right now. And that usually is when a running back will slow down a little bit. But Derek Henry is showing no signs of slowing down at all. He's amazing. He's in his physical prime. And I'm curious how long will Derrick Henry keep it up? I want to read a question on Patreon from Randy. Randy writes India says, hey Zach, you seem very critical of the Giants for taking saquon Barkley with a number two pick simply because, quote, a running back shouldn't be taken that high regardless of talent. Do you feel the same about the Jaguars taking Leonard fournette with the number four pick? Or the cowboys, trading up to the number four pick to take a SQL Elliot or the rams taking Todd Gurley with the number ten pick? Where do you feel is the absolute earliest day running back should be drafted. I love that question. So Derek Henry is an incredible example of why you do not need a running back in the top ten. Derek Henry was a second round pick. Don't forget that. And by the way, we talk about Dallas Dallas had not one but two opportunities to draft Derrick Henry. They passed on him twice. Nick Chubb was the second round pick. Joe Mixon was a second rounder. Colts running back Jonathan Taylor was drafted in the second round. Look at the top ten rushing leaders right now in the NFL. There's two first round picks. So if naji Harris, who was the number 24 overall, I'll pick you a rookie right now. I love that pick. We'll talk about why that's okay. And then you have Zika Elliot, who is the number four overall pick. And only one of those guys that seek Elliott pick was a top ten pick. The other top ten rushing leaders. So we'll tell you a top 11 because Alvin Kamara's in there too. We're all all of them not picked in the first round or sorry. 8 of the top 9 of the top 11 guys, I don't know, I don't know 12. I know the top 11. So maybe 12 is not a first round pick too. But only two guys in the top 11 in rushing in the NFL right now are former first round picks. Naji Harris number 24 overall. It's number four overall. Vikings running back, devica was a second round pick. Aaron Jones, the packers running back was a 5th round pick..
