Just great Father, Just like not their rock that piece down in my socks. My blood like that can have no my friends don't like. No, no, no, but but I'm trying to get like Knew there. Talk 30 made. Okay. Voices in the streets Unfiltered C to the J. Lo G D be our guest co host today. Death Ace. Thought the Lankford S O. Before we went to break one way. We're done talking about voting and stuff like that. Hopefully, we you know, we helped encourage some things and change some some thought provoking things for you. Ace as well. Anybody else who's listening who probably been on that cuts of, you know, teetering on call me out, you know had Yeah, just offensive man now, but so We've had, and I mean, we've seen we've had so many instances of police brutality and everything like that, But I want to go to you first. Real quick. What do you think? Is it that we can do to see some change within like police reform and the way Art. Any interactions, not just with African Americans budgets with People period. I don't know. Strange, like even being a blackmailer like Anytime you get pulled over are matters here. That shouldn't be the What the relationship should be agreeing with my every time I get pulled over I'm all over it already. Here. What? What might happen, But if I want to say that you want more people more of from about it. I wish those positions we will be police officers, but aides being a realistically We can realistically Please don't get paid enough to operate while you look into that, like, okay, You're not getting paid. That must have put your life in danger. Also. On the opposite side is like a lot of you don't like police officers in general, even if all of our bad A lot of people already don't like you because the thing with that country like every cop is going to be that that bad cop with racial couple, whatever it might be, So you want to say to go really most positions and so they won't have to worry about it as much but Come on Both sides, like people don't want to be police officers and people don't trust police. So I mean, I would look like from the vices and God know howto think they'll haven't changed. And maybe if more of the qualifications would it take to be a police officer? Um they're paying the more making you pay them more aloof. Like they have more moves when it comes to how did you know down? I should. But I do know it is a problem. My special My generation. Don't trust police by even one. Get to the point where I have to say it will be a scary thought to think it might be more of an RD. Ha. I'm thinking right now. So so how we can fix it. So that being said Arthur, would you say that? I guess the The outcome of want to see some type of change. Is on a lesser pedestal, then The actual payment of being a police officer. If that makes sense. So, like I know you you're saying, like, you know, police officers are making which I agree. I totally understand because I mean, you know, teachers don't make enough either, and You know, they're still trying to create that change for you know these little people like little kids and stuff like that. So is the I guess wanting to see the change, you know in the police policing. Is it does it does the way police officer could pay out way? I want to see that change for something. Would you say that? I'm going to tell her exactly what she if that's something that you bring the warning to do, But I mean, a lot of people might be away from that, because, okay, how much you get paid and again? It's not just that the payoff also of like A lot of people do not like police officers. So not only are you paid kind of correlates with the danger of the darkness where so if you're not from again pay that much, or even the teachers from again pay them with. Yeah, I love to do that. Might want to do this to help make it hangs, but also take care of my family to also, Okay, So these are also okay. Can I make change in different type away? So you might just say, Okay, I'm only gonna vote. It's got to be involved that way to make a change in the difference. I would not bring about the voting. But that's what you might say. I'm going to go try and make a tank in the different types of work. So it will be beneficial for you to be going to become a police officer. A lot of kids. They were younger, Long Beach Police officer Will you actually go up? You got older. You okay? You started to see things a little different light. Would you say that's unfortunate. Would you say? That's a cultural thing? Um, I'll say that it is behind everything again. The lack of trust, especially for hours for the black man back front, back when General four police officers It looks like you could go say I'd be a police officer and I will be that one family and be the change. But then, if the whole system it's a whole big assistant, everything so Yeah, I could be the person to make that small change, But that's not going to say that was happening with police brutality is going to stop. Although I do have a follow up question, Um as a young black man, you say you Get nervous or you get frightened. When the police get behind you. They stop you. What do you afraid for? Of In a situation with well, for example, I'm actually maybe this is something that every what white person? Bad person deals with every altercation I've ever had with thoughts of what I was doing. And nothing at all the first question. They're coming after me, is you have you're going to the drugs in the car and maybe have protocol as everybody, But I don't think so. Because I have a friend, a friend who haven't had that thing. And it was like for the last time I got pulled over a couple of months ago, I went to the back office, but so you think that it would be like, Okay, I'm good. But even when he came out to the car, I think I'm making a Illegal U Turn that they said, But you know, he walked up to the car already holding his like, not out. But like like that your hand was already grip on the girl from my point of like These are the way they a postcard you seen on the new social media? What's happening? You can be the most polite person in the world and still my crazy. What happened to you? So everything will stop thinking of the fear for A lot of black people that when you see it You see a cop? Get behind army Steady looking back. Please inform me over. Please inform me of we pulled me over if I okay, I'm trying to be the nicest person in the world to make sure that that happens. I, um, Destiny will come back. Is it the same for sisters? I want to know. You have the same Period, maybe a ce of the same reservation. That ain't arrested because it's based in, you know, Sandra Blank pull over. For what would be a hit alone. Real tail light end up We didn't see him anymore, Philando Castile..

"An old way of doing it. Pitiful. Go ahead. But I tell you what. I think I'm gonna come out to us so beautiful. Love acoustic guitar what Bank you I think you really enjoyed. I just finished doing my latest CD the woman. I am. Back come on the woman, I am is representing women in Houston Colt lose I'm representing the women. That was born here light precious Bryant. She was a folk blues artists. I gotta Nina Simone song on there that. Courted. I've got a history song of the ballot of Harriet Tubman. A little blues spirit built, you know. So this CD and CD has an original song the woman, I am and it talks about women being able to stand strong. Also when people come in negative like. No, no. Who you are stand strong. You still going to follow your goals? You ask perations? Good thing goes says the woman she's special. You got a treat. It was a net time when all that stuff was coming out. Yeah. It was doing things negatively toward women. But it's been happening for years. So I ain't going there. Well, you know, what the truth is though, I tell you this even though, you know, we're a little older I really feel like Derek bozeman recited everybody. It's like, I truly truly feel deep in my soul that there's a resurgence of black manhood, and they're coming back or taking, you know, Mike Tyson said in that movie, take your place, take you come back to take their place. And I love it. So they headed into a whole new era will I hope so. But I'm really excited.

"Tuned into to who to whom much truth with Derek bozeman. Derek bozeman with db is Royal highness? Dr Bennett sitting in for my friend today. And we are talking about these Hughes and the piece that was done by the Washington Post that talks about the resurgence in its in. Its its enrollment numbers. You know, I remember a video that I saw it might even be out there on YouTube, and it's called tail them. We are rising tell them we are rising. And it's a piece that kind of documents or kind of rehearses a goals over of the history of H H B see us at I would recommend our recommend. That you look at that. And that you share that with with young men and women who are considering college. Because I do think it says something about the plight of black people here in America. And how the struggles that we've had and the beauty and the power of the how B C us have worked and how they have contributed to improving the condition of black folk here in America, and even raising leaders training leaders nurturing mean and women who have made an impact worl-. Why worldwide it's called tail them. We are rising. So so look at it's about or I think it's about an hour long. But at I feel fairly confident that you will enjoy the information that's being passed out. That's being distributed. Distributed there. But what's interesting in in a thought about this? When I was looking at it about how the many of the factors that account for the creation of HP see us, you know, it's like. That whole environment that whole that whole meal you is determined that. That's in my mind that whole setting many of the same social kind of economic kind of political issues is like the same. Like this stuff is coming back again, you know, with Trump and the and the rhetoric that we're hearing from forty five. You know, what's interesting is the piece by the Washington Post tends to connect this enrollment this uptick in in persons applying it and even getting there in going to these hues they connected to this this this Trump type of this environment that he has created or that in some ways has been is connected with his his rhetoric, and I and I say in some kind of ways is connected because now I'm gonna say something that might that might bother some of you. And that's okay. The numbers four four eight nine two two seven zero three. I am unsure if Trump's rhetoric if forty fives rhetoric is creating an environment as much as it's affirming, something that has always been there. It has always been there. And what forty five is doing is just giving is just putting a face and is connecting. Verbal sounds and gestures to something that is all. All ways been there. So in that sense. He didn't he's not creating something. He is just, you know, making sure that a certain type an attitude. A belief system a way of interacting with people that this type of thing becomes normal or acceptable. Bennett said four four eight nine two two seven zero three. And you know, I want you to know that you are more than free to disagree with age VDB about their oh man that Ryan. And even think about that that rhymes. But. I'm thinking, though, that there might be some correlation some correlation between more generation Xeres, and I say that because students who are enrolling at album, more houses and our Spillman. Our and our see a us, you know, and our at our HPC us throughout the country that these students are simply not what I would call your average millennials. They're not millennials than what you'd wanna call generations ears. You know, those who were born in the late nineteen ninety s and two thousand what's quite interesting. Is this group that we're talking about has not most of them kind of grew it and came of age or were growing up during the during the Obama era, you know, so for them to have to deal with forty five. That's the situation that's the situation. So that might be one of the one of the things we have to consider when we're thinking about this group, and this this new population that's enrolling in our HPC us. But definitely we have a subgroup that is deciding to get their their post high school education at our schools, and that's something that warrants conversation. All right. That's what I want to talk about. I wanted to set it up for you like that. And I love to hear your voice. I got some lines open the numbers.
