Fresh update on "derby" discussed on The Horse Racing Radio Network Podcast

"What's on your mind in the world of horse racing? Did you have a big score last weekend? Is there a horse that you are keying on this weekend? We'd love to hear from you on the brisnet dot com call and show 8 8 8 9 6 6 four 7 7 6 8 8 8 9 6 6 hr and Friedman with James Scully. Let's go out to the phone lines, Tom and St. Louis. Dave and James, starting the Thursday, happy hour with you, gentlemen. How are you today? Outstanding. Really good, Tom. Good, good. Before I get to things, I kind of want to agree with James on one thing and take it a step farther. I think speakers corners the definite play against this week. And I also look sometimes in the first step, usually on Thursday as I do the first walkthrough of my past performances. I look for horses to play against. I truly think everybody makes a big deal of rich strike. I think he's one of the first horses I would play against. And Dave you mentioned earlier, the victory in the Oklahoma Derby of shake rattle and roll or rattle and roll. Rattle and roll won the St. Louis Derby. And you know, I don't know after you win the Kentucky Derby, if that's just not impressive enough of a thing to win. But I was always born. My father was a trainer. You're on horses where you can win. There's no way that horse had a chance to run the trap when the Travers. That word should have won in the span of the St. Louis Derby. And you know, rattle and roll had a pretty good little record. You know, it was one of the same little story won the Oklahoma Derby. I think that horse, you know, and I don't know where it fit on the calendar, obviously, a week, but instead of running the Oklahoma Derby, that horse had more of a chance to win the Lucas classic than rich strike. So, you know, I look at play against. Tom, we appreciate your thoughts. What do you think about. What do I mean does that mean? No, I wanted to get James thoughts on what you're saying about where you're running. Rich strike. Do you think rich strike is completely out of his element? James? No, no, I mean, you know, he made $85,000 running forth in the traverse and he got beaten us in the next four seconds. So I thought he ran a really good race in there. He's two for two at Churchill downs and I think going to run in the romantic part or Oklahoma Derby. You know, listen, I mean, to me, the horse was exposed to in a sense in the Belmont and everybody's going to put a lot of stock in that effort. But he wasn't right after the Derby. He was on the vet's list for a reason. I mean, reports I heard, which are completely unsubstantiated and couldn't just total rumors, but where that is his back was all out of sorts and he was all stiff and it took him a while before he was back to himself and, you know, so I can give him that race. And I look at the Derby and even look at his third in the Jeffree ruby steaks. He was a proven at that point. He took a huge step forward obviously in the Derby, but he ran well in the Travers. Considering he just probably got very little out of the Belmont he just spraying around the track and hadn't run since June 11th. I thought that was a real good showing and, you know, Deluca's classic isn't some grade one race. Now granted, it came up. Like a grade one with our collector and happy saver and hot rod Charlie, but to me it was a realistic race to point to this fall for its strike. Well, Tom, we appreciate your call. I want to ask James about something that both of you have said, you both think speakers corner is vulnerable. Let me just kind of play devil's advocate. Could he be controlling speed yeah, I mean, there's definitely a, you know, that's the concern. He's going to, you know, show you would think he's going to show pace from the rail because, you know, he doesn't want to get caught in there, but you know, like I'm saying, you know, he's never run a Churchill downs. And what if he doesn't get out of the gate, that's sharply, you know, then he could be in trouble. And there's some other horses in there that, you know, may not have may not be as quick as him on paper, but they're eligible to be hustled from the starting gate and perhaps makes it up a little bit. Up front. We'll see. And number 7 injunction is one that I was looking at and maybe Twilight blue from the outside. You know, it's just it's a thing to me where if you're not running your best races at the current time and you were running and I'm like earlier in the season, you know, that makes you a potentially vulnerable, especially if you're going to be odds on like your speaker's corner perhaps will be an even money morning line favorite. Bobby Newman and I will pick that race and a dozen others on tomorrow's weekend stakes preview between 6 and 7 p.m. Eastern Time and you can get it on demand at horse racing radio dot net and wherever you get your favorite podcasts.

Horse With Long Odds Wins Kentucky Derby

"I started last hour by noting The Kentucky Derby win of rich strike. Shown for some blessed reason put down $10,000 on rich strike. And ended up with $800,000. The beauty of that is as he still working with me. No matter how rich Sean gets, he stays with me. Is that fair to say, Sean? Yeah. So that's the course was 80 to one. I can't get over it. And I don't even follow horse racing, but it's the longest odds in the winter in Kentucky Derby and over a hundred years.

"That's a pretty cool way. Do you live in a generation. I still part of that generation. The cool play outside. If you wanted to find where all the neighborhood kids were you. Would you would look for the outside of it will growing up. And playing the game like hide-and-seek kids are actually learning the survival skill if you think about it. It's a fun game you know. Go and high to try and it and competitive nature to it which again competitive natures keyword that i think is we need more of that in in in kids lives. But the but the fact they're hiding from somebody survival school now hide-and-seek what does that have to do with the survivors. Survival skill having kids go run and hide in an active shooters that that would be pretty good skill to have. Where does that what our kids learning. They hide where the learning to go and prone to hide what they taught in the mac computers and area to get low what kids learn when they go hide and seek their wondering you know. Can i keep quiet. You know. Can i can i. Can i be patient enough to hide. Not moving from a predator that was that was that used to be what that was more or an invading rupe outside of the tribe. You're from whatever blood. it's amazing skill. Set that kids aren't getting a more in a in a lot of ways so why not visit some of that some of that People learn to rouse goes also. I grew up in between a city pig farm center so i had to do pig farm chores from cleaning to butchery castration. This so i got to do all that and it was a skill set. It was a life experience skill set. And i was very young and i didn't realize how normal that skill set was for people my age until i start comparing notes with some of my peers. That didn't have that background. I knew how to do some of these states again. I think finding ways for your kids to have life experiences and getting them outside getting them out of comfort zones and getting them into positions where they can learn through mistakes and being competitive. I think that's what's missing. That's what made me into flam coming up on alchemy of violence. The world of hollywood collides with the cartel billons of ed's former live they probably had the raid for already set up. And it probably did coincide at least surveillance wise thing you that somebody was coming and they probably thought was not a good idea to to maybe do that operation with i little hollywood celebrity there one thing to kind of realize that chapel was never an has never been the leader of the cartel. Death is on everybody's though you would say you know you see cartel numbers on one side wearing it and we'll t- police and some of us were wearing on the other toes confusing to them and in a way which is exactly what morning use it as a psychological warfare in the way and it comes back to the whole things have power over us that give them And of black magic at its core is just a former weaponized psychology. And i think a lot of those guys when we would come in. That's what they were trying to show how to weaponize this black magic against the people that we use it so we came up with this. Unit logo was basically to naked skeleton without a john. And if you say it's a local that. I use my company logo now it's an image. It gets kind of like a like an inside joke for some of us that what used to work in the office. It's a naked skeleton because we wouldn't get any gear or equipment from the from our office and it was rare to get anything so we would always have this running joke that we would go out to work naked so that was kind of like a self deprecating joke as far as having that naked skill. "You've got fiscal. Forget about you as soon as six years sad that i have to kind of remind them that. Tell him that. But you could see that. I see myself in all them. You know that the idealistic amid a change things were going to take the fight to them all that idealism and then young just warned them about loss and how lot of the people that came out of training with are gone now. They're dead their jail there on the other side of the fight in how all the megan experience the same thing later on it. Just think about that whole experience is that they're higher ups or their superiors were there and their superiors were probably kinda contemporaries of mine as far as the timeframe we were in so they could. I could see them in the background. Just nodding quietly nodding so the whole narrative part the holes sharing some these experiences giving voices of these stories. That's all basically putting a voice. Some sort of memory to the people can see read. Share to keep some of these things alive. Because i know is not a lot of people like me. That went through the things that i went to out there. That have a have an audience that they can share some of these things win so it's also demy a way of keeping some of that stuff alive keeping some of those lessons alive for people to learn. That would be my biggest biggest in my life. Ed is the first to admit he doesn't know everything in his constant journey to learn is perhaps the best proof of that an idea. He subpoena saying he repeats often to remind himself and his students that it's a journey without end stillness is death stillness as death many meanings behind it. Something that i learned from you know just the go about life in shots ring out being in one place for too long to be deadly in issue out situation Not getting any physical activity. Your life being sedentary. That's gonna kill you. Everything's gonna kill you but it's going to probably meet that in faster ammo still as death means you will never be able to learn everything it will never be able to have all the lessons that need to learn if you stand still. You're not gonna let you need to be moving consistently learning consistently finding new experiences and just having that motion mental motion physical motions spiritual motion of always trying to to maintain that curiosity about the world. Most subsumes at some of the classes with their heads in agreement. When at the end of the night. I usually take people to decompress somewhere someplace with good food. Could house tally. And maybe some local flavor wisconsin. I was drinking in spotted. Cow beer kentucky buffalo arrive. There's a certain reverence at the end. Where i try to put people on the same on the same level where. I'm not the instructor but i'm just a guy sharing in meal and some laughter. You can't fake experience. You can't fix cars. You can't fake damage and one thing i've always been really open about is that i have scars have damage at faults defects. I've made a lot of mistakes. And i'm very honest about them. I've always showing people and sharing some of these dreams with people and very much. I tell them like hey. I'm a cautionary tale. But i try to really speak to those who listen the something. Wow with all mistakes can be weaponized if you shut down your eagle for that. And if anything when they come out of that experience with the training with me going for a night of conversation with me is that there's nothing special about me. What was special was my time and what it did with it and if i had gone through it would be somebody else and to realize that. Sometimes it's a choice between being able to do something out how the calculation or something and putting yourself on a path of looking down experience or avoiding everything nazi again experience not wanted to learn anything new and just being still and i think that the whole 'cause being still is so generation of people that don't want they don't want to seek out experience or afraid of things say spaces. They said the helmet with writing around the bike. That's good god but seeking experiences and being a product of experiences. That's that's a different thing. And if anything i just like sharing that with people and being honest about the fact that takes a lot of mistakes a lot to get to a level where you can choose something professional and that if you want to be curious about the world you'd better be ready for the beauty and the ugly and i'm part of that whole preparation to deal with the ugly on the next episode of alchemy. Violence find out. What ed believes are the best tools to survive the ugly as he puts it and he explains why some of them can't fit neatly in your pocket usually see people that have life experience probably going to carry recombination those things and usually these things solutions through the age. Old problem of being armed when you need to these are situations places and events. Where if you wanna be responsible and keep yourself safe. You actually have to become or have to start thinking very criminal way. Listen to be part of the conversation with me. Brian kilmeade. You're saying he didn't put on his. Latex loves to treat that sucking chessel on the second victim when he switched his mindset to to trying to save family member he's not worried about blood anymore any pathogens that might be in the blood again. I think there's a software issue with some people that kind of try to avoid or don't even think about some of these things. But you see cases like that las vegas shooting a deride events that are going on all of the country in seeing people injured. Just seeing a bunch of people there. That don't know what to do something happens. also added a padlock in handcuffed to the whole training. They're like hey. This is a medical class. Wire these things here While you never know you know so be ready basically And there's certain element of learning how to be comfortable in the uncomfortable. That students start to get when they go through multiple layers. The training that we provide But that that expression of love is pretty powerful to see when you have maybe a father mother group come through a class. Learn all these things and they did tell me. Hey think you'd think. I could show this to my kids not yeah show the sear kids and then when they're of age she'll bring him here so they can go through this Become become assets in the lives of the people you love in. That's probably the best advice that people are kind of on the fence as far as any trading. It isn't necessarily suggesting that people bring their young children to his classes but he says that almost all of his training is applicable to the next generation since some of them may be missing gal on other basic survival skills because the threats they face are also very real. I don't take riders in my classes. Less parents are there unless a very specific guy class with parents other Human trafficking is a real phenomenon in has been real for years in mexico and it has some very horrific history in mexico. It's a very real thing. The us drug trafficking has been a constant battle on the mexican border now. Though sex trafficking human trafficking is becoming a growing epidemic. In fact what's even more disturbing actually drug trafficking as if this involves children. There's a lot of people thinking it's fear mongering or or anything like that. But i've just to wear just to in contact and aware with some of these situations out there because I get questions asked consistently from people out there. Dealing with the situation directly on law enforcement side Whether they look at somebody being tied up in certain way. And i get questions about that or is this cartel related that type of stuff. So it's a very real thing and it's always been we'll take people being abducted people being taken It's a weird horrible thing. That is part of the realities That we've been facing a human race I think it's never. It's never too early to start learning life skills. And what i mean by life skills is i i have. I have a kid myself. Six years old and carrying a knife is a tool. Is something that my kid does. Small pocket night. It's nothing to insane. It's small pocket knife. And that's how i grew up myself. When i was a kid i was carrying pocket members of the community that i'm a part of that as weird. Yeah and there's a pocket knife and now grab it put in my pocket or make it takes it out and starts opening up back. Christmas presents with at I was get the whole. Kit gets Gets caught with it. Now it's a that's pretty valuable lesson now. It's a hard lesson to learn but most people out there that were manipulated knives cut themselves in. Rarely do you cut yourself the same way twice. If you're if you're smart about it so one thing. I'll say is i'm always looking for ways to provide life experiences. That could show the reality have. The world is out there not now not full blast but volunteer your kids who assumed kitchen and in two oliseh charity organization. Actually go out there experience. How the other half of the world lives expose them to similar realities of people that are at risk and don't have a lot of things travel with them so they can experience how other people in the world live. I get the whole sheltering thing you have. Your kids girl in a bubble is going to be an issue. So one thing i tell until a lot of parents and ask me about this and my kids so and so is too young too late they come. I'm going through the same learning experience itself as we speak. Make fun activities out of awareness kits. Simple as having a clothespin you've got to get it. Wouldn't close put donkey on it so whoever gets close in as a donkey and psycho the The the funding it or whoever gets that clothes pin on in the end. We'll hide there if your kids are older. Go out with them. And you started sneaky sneaky way putting the clothes spend on different members of the family to get it off and put it on. Somebody else assured or the bag and the it's a game you know you go through this game with your family. Has your family outing. You're out there out doing something as as a group By the end of the day you will have the most paranoid most aware aware group of people around you with this clothespin. Everybody is going to be a very aware of the distance. They keep with each other but he's going to be very aware of other people's and they're not gonna look around that we're going to get off the phone. I think that's a that's pretty interesting fun way to teach him where your kids and and to do it as a family..

"About to learn how nervous i i'm not sure this is for me while a go through it and then later on ask. I usually do like a debriefing When they go through the exercises now one of the exercises we did at one class People basically had to go through a scenario where there's a explosion in a public space. And one of the guys going through it had to apply tourniquet to somebody that was a in a in a very distress state. Basically flailing around and then after plied that chernick it he had to extract them to a waiting car that was going to drive into hospital and after that happened he would have to go through to break a chain on a door. Utilizing lighter method. That i showed him. Because there's a chinese padlock holding the door together. And when he went into that room there was somebody handcuffed. Somebody handcuffed to adore so had to remove the handcuffs and apply A chest a dart to basically at decompression needle because the person was suffering from attention with Which is you know it's when basically when somebody gets a puncture in the into the lungs there's a change of pressure and he says well ed i gave feminist situation this. I'm gonna to extract myself and run away. I'm not gonna go into arms way. And i told them while. What if the what. If the person that you just put the tourniquet on was your son.

You know all these things you know you start looking at them learning them and they come from conversations and you start gathering them into learning teachable. Moment how i sourced. A lot of these skill sets comes from interactions with people that have lived. Whiskey lives and have a lot of experience and a lot of these people get ignored. Or just. don't get a chance to speak about their experiences to people. And there's definitely gold nuggets of information in some of these conversations. Sometimes people get in the way of themselves by the humanizing some these guys and and women as soon as you to humanize the enemy you become blind to the nature of the enemy and when i say enemy i mean you know somebody. That's the other side of the situation. So as far as a life lesson coming learned early on to not discount anybody as teacher. Anybody can show you the you don't know coming up. "They were doing what these people have in common as far as their lives. You know once once a a sex worker and the other one is is a facial reconstructive reconstruction specialist doctor. Who was a female. And what do they both have in common survival Risky environments need to be self sufficient in in in different aspects including defense They're both going to be in an area where authority figures are lacking areas. Where you know they might have the might be separated from the group and they might have to defend themselves. And you know if you go back in history The number one anti-rape tool that the in women's hands throughout history has always met a small concealed knife. Basically so when you get kinda right down to it in desert places where there's a very non-permissive environments the solutions have already shown themselves that people already know what to do. It's a it's some of the people that live in more sheltered live more sheltered lives in more sheltered places. That kind of lost touch with that data solution. Some of the people already came up with. So you know. Basically i just i just make people remember. Ed wishes more women would show up to his classes because he says they frequently outperformed their male peers and they are often the ones who come back to him in some of the most incredible stories of the real world applications of the technique. He teaches and more women could show up to this classes. Which is is is up to me. It's always amazing. Seeing some of them show up and out perform some of the most of the guys in there with some of the escape polity stuff because women tend to be more flexible For you know outperformed some of the some of some of the weapon classes because some of these women come in with a history of violence so they have a lot of emotional content behind the The performance as far as far as exercise. So i think it's empowering seeing some of these people just perform even after the fact that they went through something bad as one woman that came to one of the classes. I shoulder i showed. I show listen. Most classes is basically how to make yourself escape necklace. what anybody's game necklace. It's a it's a to earth magnets that basically form a clasp like something you'd see at a at a beat store And kevlar shortage Made into a into a loop use that to to create friction and cut yourself free from zip ties or duct tape or you can even use it to Clue locked doors together to door handles together in an active shooter situation Use it to cut yourself free out of a you know a car And if you can't the seat belt use it as a toe cutter it has a lotta uses I showed a lady. This is this This method as part of a class and Probably to years later she sent me an email about This abusive relationship she is She just had to get out of boyfriend does zip tighter to toilet and left her there for for For a few hours and She hadn't one of her escape nicholas's on that she made herself you know She took it off and to use that to cut herself free from these heavy duty industrial zip ties and she escaped through. The window went through the neighbor's house. Grab the knife from the kitchen neighbor. How neighbor's house and basically call nine one one. Can i help you that. That's a private example of how useful this material. Is you know for admin as vice skill. most people think that. Show that all the stuff that i show is just all this is the case get kidnapped by the cartels But there's you know there's you can apply this to a lot of that situation I'll show you how to jam door. Utilizing cordage and or Teach you how to learn building codes so you can know what the safest exits or entries are in an active shooter situation Do they apply to you. Know avoiding an objection situation of course it But they also apply to home invasion the also apply to active shooters aerials aid. They apply to being a tourist somewhere and And having having to go through a terrorist attack of some sort of new. You need to figure out for yourself and your family. How barricade the door all these things. I learned them from a very specific situation. Which is cartel violence and the drug war but they're applicable in written been of a lot of situations got another story. Came from the Another lady she was in a concert setting and she was almost trampled to death. The only thing between her being able to get out of that trampling situation was two fences held together by three zip ties and she was smart enough to carry some of the cordage weather as well so she basically cut her way to fence with that. cordage capital way through the threes ties holding that fence together and she said she would laugh. She's laughed at because everybody looked at her like she was jason bourne doing that. She just turned around and just kind of smiled and obviously everybody that was almost being trampled to death with that door and she said i told her eight year hero. I mean i don't know how many you don't realize that you just didn't save yourself save. Probably a lot of people that might have been traveled at that will return right. "It's not all black and white world of hollywood intersected with ed's former live in a big way back in twenty sixteen with an event that he says was an embarrassment to both the us and mexican governments. the secret meeting between infamous drug lord. Joaquin el chapo guzman and hollywood actor. Sean penn may not have been all it was cracked up to be. Sean penn became famous for his portrayal of a nineteen eighties hostile surfer but he quickly became infamous after traveling to the mexican compound of cartel kingpin rolling stone magazine published an exclusive interview done with the drug lord in october in secret by actor. Sean penn arranged with the help of a mexican actress. Ed says the actor is lucky. He didn't spark an international incident. Given that report suggests pin was at l. chop was compound very moment mexican. Special forces called off a ray. Due to bad weather is a lot of stories and come to have come out of the whole chop rate and some of the people that went down there and talk to him for that article One thing to kind of realize that Chapel was never an has never been the leader of the scene. The law cartel is pretty high up in the leadership. But he's not he's he's he wasn't the head even on the union in the us in the us media he's beatings portrayed asus kingpin character. That was in charge of everything. And that's not that's not actually the case there are people out there and still in power that have way more leadership and an influence end there. They've been around for longer than he has it was interesting seeing that whole debacle. It was an embarrassment to the mexican government to have that picture. Come out Because basically they were supposedly on his trail for this whole time. There's sean panther taking the picture was number. One you know on the most wanted list. It put a lot of attention on. Not just sean penn but got to the cassia which is a mexican actress that accompanied him. Who was the original kind of the architect of this meeting. You know. I do believe that they probably had the raid for him. Already setup in probably did coincide at least surveillance wise. They knew that somebody was coming and they'd probably die was not good idea to maybe do that. Operation with high level. Hollywood celebrity there I do know that. Sean penn probably didn't wanna visit mexico after that whole situation for fear prosecution but because he got the custody were under investigation after that for their ties to chapel a few months later he was actually captured and arrested peon wound up saying he had quote terrible regret in quote that his article failed to achieve his purpose which he says was to start a conversation about the world drugs. Neither he nor the mexican actress take del. Custodio were charged in the incident and she reportedly sued the mexican government over what she described as quote political persecution while also taking swipes at pin for his handling of the situation. A lot of these things are just propaganda. Pugh pure propaganda campaigns. Make the government look like it's being or it's actually doing the job. So an example of this is they arrested el chapo they extradited him and things have never been worse in mexico so then in anything with his arrest they only fragmented the cartel That he was a part of a little bit and kind of cleared the way for another cartel of taking its place eventually which is a new generation cartel they basically weakened one side so they benefited the other. I'm not saying that no good came out of it. I'm saying that it's not the killing blow that they made it out to be the game. Welcome all you cut one head off the snake in three grow grow in its place or you can head of once again. There was another snake in the grass. Rolling is not gonna feed off all the mice Not gonna feed off and the next day you have to fat snakes in the place of one small thing that you had before i mean that's a that's a phenomenon that's been happening since the since back where net kiki come at enna. I hadn't seen a thousand dollars in. I don't know how long i was. I was flabbergasted. And yet i wanted to be a serious actress. I'd i was into this thing where i was going to be a great actor and all of that and so i kept saying to these people. I can't do that. I mean nobody would offer rona barrett a role on broadway joke right nowadays. You could do stuff like that but then no would. That was not allowed. And i said i can't do this. I was heartbroken. I needed the money so badly. But i said you know my mother would die. She would kill me. If i ended up a gossip columnist on the evening news. My mother would never speak to me again right. i mean i i just. I can't do it. i can't do it so huntley bentley said to leo guild. I said i can't do it. My mother would never speak to me again. You have to understand. I've got this mother that you don't cross. And he just you know he said mallory. Are you crazy. listen to me. You're lousy opportunists. I said why he said look. People are offering to pay you thousand dollars a week for six weeks and then at the end of the six weeks. It's it's a redo like you can both decide. Both sides can decide whether to go on together or not if they'll have gotten the the The islet out of you and they'll be able to use that and they could go hire somebody else. I pitched a game and it goes the opposite way. A home run into the bleachers. Tim anderson with the jack and it's one nothing white sox boop shabby on. Espn radio with the call. Tim anderson actually was not in the original. Starting lineup. he'd gone into tony larussa office after the game on saturday talked about how he didn't feel good at the plate and then he was working on some things in the cage. Before sunday's game coach assam hitting the saw that he'd figured out some stuff with timing And they went to lure us and said he's gotta be in the lineup. He's gotta be in. The lineup and sure enough tim anderson talked his way in the lineup and he hit the first pitch the game for a home run. The white sox were done though in that first. Inning davies delivers swang clobbered centerfield. Or take a back near the wall looking at. It's gone tosses the back towards the white sox first base dugout eloy jimenez when his second homer of the year and that quickly it is three nothing and the lead would continue to build in that first then a swing and a bolt drill out towards left centerfield on its way and it's gone. Two run homer the third homerun derby inning and white sox have exploded. It's five nothing near the top of the first at wrigley on their way to a ninety three

"Canada. Got an example of how much how much is touched people. He's been gone for for longtime and he's still very much alive in the minds of the people out there. I told me about hud. He taught me how to shoot a rifle. He taught me how to shoot a gun and he also taught me how to seek out experiences. He would always Guilt me into doing things like hey wanna jump this rap with us. Bmx bike psych. Now i doubt that's dangerous while look at me now he doesn't jumps out as big as Bed the amex by again than i do it myself. Scrape my arm been and there's a lot of blood and then you know and then he goes me into doing it again a few weeks later i finally gland it. That was his influence on me. Being headstrong kind of taking risks. I was thirteen Hung out with a lot of people that are you know later on Turned out to be affiliated. He had a lot of friends that you know. When you're young in your your kid you don't realize they are and then you grow up and then you see them on at the fbi most wanted list cartels those posters that would have on the on the on your way across then you would recognize these famous phases later on So i i'm not too sure there's always been divided but all traces of whatever happened. That was back in the early nineties. Side there's no way really. No i like all like all i can say is that i saw a lot of very very famous faces at his funeral. Later on Later on were featured netflix series. And stuff like that. It was around the time when this study of this phenomenon of cartel kind of a narco culture stuff like that was showing up all over the country. I think my my brother was probably a part of that is in a small sorry to be apartment. What a lot of people don't get is suddenly decided to go enjoy the government and become a government agent That was completely counter cultural. That was the most punk thing to do. I grew up skateboarding when i was a teenager. I was more of a punk kid. I was all about that culture and Graffiti like risky behavior. And there was this weird kind of Aversion to narco culture and to to everything that they would stand for. When i was growing up that was my way of rebelling against it. I tried to go the conventional route. Just my whole thing. That i wanted to become a doctor and help people that way and it was just not a car for me Now things happen things shifted and add to choose Away to serve without the without going that route that most of my friends went dead down into so probably most counter cultural thing that i could do most punk that i could do was joined dad. Police group that i in i was a young some people out there probably experiences before on this hopeless feeling of not being able to control anything yet alive and you're unemployed and you're trying to figure yourself out so i had one of these moments where i would basically sleep all day in. Stay out all night and get drunk with my friends Until i saw running out of money so i have to sell medical books girlfriend back. Then and she begged need to make the decision of going into that line of work and Talking my mama dada before. I made this decision. She devised me not to do it herself. She says that there's no parade at the end. There's no medal at the end. And you're you're you're you're the villain in you're going to be the villain in the story not the hero. I kind of looked at look at my options. One night and wade wade all their opinions. And and my own and and the next day My brother my Big brother took me to the offense.
