"I don't know if I'm saying it right but they will it's the lawyer and I might classmates of mine who I love and respect have worked for them. Right just like, you know, cuz I mean it's an important point, right? That's how pervasive it is. Go ahead. Yes. No, no, that's and that's great too. That's great to point out because you know, as we as we touched upon, you know, if you're just doing it in the nitty-gritty on a day-to-day and you're focusing on your task, you really don't believe that you're part of the problem in a lot of these things, you know, if you're just get you know, you're making ends meet and you're just, you know, you know a contractor for one of these one of these firms so long You say was Delhi Odell. What was it? Deloitte is a lawyer think it's a lighter. Yeah, so that's a lot but I'm pretty sure so you'll have something like, uh any of these under secretary and Deputy undersecretary in and and assistant Deputy under secretary positions love this stuff. So, you know that Corporation will be you know, 17 Jun 2020 advisory and assist services to support the deputy assistant Secretary of the Air Force office of business transformation and deputy chief management officer in managing and improving strategic transformation initiatives at the Enterprise level. It's it's it's nonsense, you know, if if the generals and Admirals cannot do their own paperwork, if they cannot make these calls if they cannot do analysis. What are you doing? What are you doing? What what purpose you are? You are a you know a barnacle on the on keister of the you know, what should be a functioning, you know, military Boston Consulting Group out of birth. Which contracts out of pathetic Maryland on Twenty One November 2019 cost transparency to facilitate the design of an optimized maintenance program to include design of governing governance processes of the reliability control board, you know, it's just like, you know, same Corporation thirteen April 2020 support. Chief managing office assessing at least 90% of annual spending implementing and training to increase departments efficiency speed. I mean, it's nonsense. It's absolute nonsense. This is stuff that should not be not only should not be, you know, given to the corporate sector. This is stuff that you as a competent flag officer should either be doing as part of your daily work or you know, I don't do it like some of the stuff is just, you know, creative categories that Corporate America comes up to and then just then just pitches. Yeah, it's really It's very frustrating to see on the daily, but it's also frustrating to see the you know on the macro when you're looking at it over the course of you know, an entire fiscal year. And this is money again. I cannot stress this enough. This is money that they're only X dollars that go around as you guys know, and as you have pointed out very well on this podcast before they're only X dollars that go around and everything that is going into not just these the consultative class not just you know, the local Beltway Bandits, but the broader War Industry could be it should be going elsewhere to actual National Security actual National Security wage, you know Healthcare homelessness hunger. These are actual National Security issues not whether you know, some clown entrepreneur, you know, I don't know consultant, you know can get, you know, get his cookies doing I don't know analysis and advisory assistance. So that was a great question. Thank you for that. I really do that.
Climate change denier, David Legates, appointed to NOAA, alarmists howl
"As hurricanes, Sally batters Gulf Coast and climate field wildfires continue to ravage the West we turn to look at how a well-known climate change denier has been tapped for a top position at Noah. That's the National Oceanic and atmospheric. Administration. University of Delaware Professor David Gates is written papers calling for more fossil fuel emissions has had his work supported by the Robert Mercer. Funded heartland institute coal, and Coke Industries, as well as major gas companies. In two thousand eleven he was pushed out of his role as Delaware State climatologist for his views on climate change which go against the scientific consensus in two thousand and eighteen same year. The intergovernmental panel on climate change warned humanity had only a dozen years to mitigate climate change your face global catastrophe David Lee Gates spoke at heartland. Institute. Conference on a panel called quote why co two emissions are not creating a climate crisis. We've all heard carbon dioxide of course, is a pollutant. It drives climate. It is the single most important factor that determines what the climate is going to be in the future and what the temperature is going to be and how much precipitation is going to be so much so that we have a danger sign on carbon dioxide. But the question I wanted to WanNa ask is, is it really a benefit? Not just simply? Has Gotten a bad rap but is it really something that we could do with a little bit more? So the answer my question is carbon dioxide, a pollutant or a benefit. Clearly isn't a pollutant is definitely a benefit and we can do with a little bit more of it. David La Gatesville serve as no as deputy assistant secretary of Commerce for Observation and prediction top climate scientists Michael Manteaux then pr he could not imagine quote immortal misguided decision than the appointment
Declassified Susan Rice email shows Obama team discussed Russian dealings
"Well on the occasion last week of the first tranche of the classifications by acting deny Richard Grinnell that provided some detail on all of the unmasking requests that were made by all of the various Obama administration personnel as it pertains to Michael Flynn and perhaps others Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley the two centers in Wisconsin and Iowa respectively want more details more a documents declassified because they have more concern that perhaps the surveillance that was being conducted by Obama administration officials predates operation crossfire hurricane on that occasion last week John Brennan former CIA director took to his safe space and M. S. N. B. C. and had this reaction this is also going out and saying give me everything about Michael Flynn absolutely not and quite interestingly the number of reports so we're in December sixteen and January seventeen that were declassified by Richard Grinnell I was surprised at how many dates and reports that were there then what was the ground should do is to declassify and release the contents of those reports in terms of what's the individuals were involved with but what he's doing now is just releasing the names of individuals who again were carrying out their authorized responsibilities shin director Brennan he's getting there yesterday to classifying a email from Susan rice that seems to run counter to things Susan rice was saying in public from a national security perspective president Obama said he wants to be sure that as we engage with the incoming team are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia rice wrote call me said he does have some concerns that incoming NSA Flanaess speaking frequently with Russian ambassador Kislyak Comey said that could be an issue as it relates to sharing sensitive information president Obama asked of Comey was saying the NSC should not pass sensitive information related to Russia to flan Comey replied potentially adding that there's no indication thus far that Flynn has passed classified information to kids they act but he noted the level of communication is unusual potentially we should not pass sense of information to the incoming president incoming national security adviser is that properly or or fairly Radisson body trying to insinuate his way into a counterintelligence operation against general Flynn well that's what Susan rice memorialized in an email here's Susan rice back on March twenty second of twenty seventeen just a couple months into the trump administration in a sit down on PBS with Judy Woodruff what she had to say about what she knew do you know anything about this I know nothing about this I was surprised to see reports from chairman Nunes on that count today fresh off her performance in the Benghazi a misdirection cover up however you want to describe it we get this from Susan rice I really don't know what to what chairman Nunez was referring but he said that whatever he was referring to was a legal lawful surveillance and that it was potentially incidental collection on American citizens and I think it's important for people to understand what incidental means that means that the target was a either a foreign entity D. or somebody under criminal investigation and that the Americans who were talking to those targets may have been picked up well Devin newness has since revised and extended his remarks so perhaps is in rice would like to do the same for more on this we're pleased to be joined by Fred flights he's a former CIA analyst now president CEO at center for security policy former Deputy Assistant to the president into the chief of staff of the National Security Council thanks for joining us again forget it good to be here about what Susan rice said in twenty seventeen verses what Susan rice memorialized about this January fifth twenty seventeen meeting well wishers lined clearly she knew that there was electronic surveillance of general Flynn what this comes down to what is the intention of B. bomber stretching from the top from president Obama not to honor the very important principle of our democracy and that's called the peaceful transfer of power under that principle the outgoing administration cooperates fully with the incumbent won eight daughters the the will of the people turned over the keys to the officers tells all about farm policy mission underway gives them all the intelligence operations and intelligence they collected they don't withhold information from the incoming president and Tucker offices to use this information to investigate the next administration to undermine it it's really very serious violation of our whole system of government if they had concerns about general Flynn they had to tell the next administration about it cook told president trump and vice president pence and call me if needed later said he was held information twelve Attorney General sessions about Russia also this is an effort by an outgoing administration to undermine and destroy any incoming
Chinese hackers try to steal COVID-19 vaccine research
"Well the president talking about the Chinese the trump administration plans to issue a warning that cyber actors linked to the Chinese government are trying to get U. S. research on coronavirus treatments and vaccines and this first broke the story in The New York Times I remember reading little bits and pieces about it so it's being issued by the FBI department of homeland security both agencies monitoring the of course all of the foreign government hackers during the pandemic and they're warning universities and resorts research facilities and healthcare institutions but of course the you've got Rece now more than ever cyber security should be number one on everybody's list not that we didn't know this and certainly in the show we have delved into it and talk to owners of different people about things that you can do but and always try to stay on top of that it's you're never fast enough we just had somebody called snow on from IBM and what they were doing to prevent hacking to look at what hackers were doing what lengths they would go to and now here you have this and it's not a surprise that we would see this but how do you shut it down to the FBI Deputy Assistant director for the cyber division said just last month that they've seen intrusions in the institutions I mentioned so universities the research spots and the health care Silesian institutions and there are people that have publicly identified themselves as working on code red related research and sometimes get them find their way in there so there are lots of warnings being issued in private cybersecurity firms and U. S. government agencies of course are also noticing that Russia China Iran North Korea they're escalating cyber activity and disinformation related to the corona virus and you know the that what they're calling nontraditional collectors to as well researchers who they analyst to steal scientific data and whatever the proper proprietary technologies are and they're trying to really crack down on this obviously as much as they can if we go back and look at what's happened in the past China's theft of US intellectual property is over four hundred billion dollars annually that's not the total that's annually what we're talking about and this is again nothing new but it's something that is so significant in the middle of this pandemic and one more thing to be concerned about with the hacking of the of the vaccine data and it again and again and again and again we're seeing this come up and especially now with very very tricky like I mentioned during the the pandemic couldn't couldn't be a worse time for
In Unprecedented Times, Governors Have Unprecedented Power
"Now let's move on to the power governors in the states have explained their responsibilities during a public health crisis so we're gonna do this what is your view of the constitution of the limited document the tenth amendment to the constitution stresses that they're in the powers not delegated to the federal government to research this thanks so I understand our constitutional law we understand that the states have what's called quote unquote the police power and it's not the power just to have a police force that power to regulate everything within the borders of the state all people and conduct except when it's taken away specifically given to the federal government so that's why it the governors of the states who are exercising that power under their own constitutions or because the state legislatures given that power they're the ones who decide whether businesses can stay open out whether we're allowed to travel outdoors what can be bought and sold because the states have the general reservoir power over everything within their territory finally local governments mayors county commissions do they have any unique powers or they beholden to what state government decides on last a governor specifically gives them the leeway to make their own decisions like an acting curfews or ordering residents to wear face masks in public question and that's really up to each state so some something could give if they wanted to their cities and counties that power that's the case in California for example but again that's just they launched a constitution each they could be different I'm joined by former Deputy Assistant Attorney General and visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution John you let's talk about re opening the economy and your piece explaining how the president can't force states to do it explain who as what authority there it's interesting so based on the police power states hi I have the primary thirty over in the opening closing of businesses for example restaurant in your hometown A. L. a public health standards that's under state law that under the police power the greatest use of the state police power in the system record is one where is their power to protect the public health and safety of the residents of that state hi imposing these lockdown orders that's all under state law now the federal government has a lot of tools at its disposal to try to get the economy reopened and going again what they're saying you can't do is actually reverse those lockdowns so the federal government can boost spending ranking give out more checks to more people her unemployment benefits it can actually directly assessed since it can reopen travel can encourage people to travel want to control whether businesses and establishments the open or not whether people go outside or not thanks still to this day in
VA, Maryland, Washington DC Unemployment Claims Surge Because Of Coronavirus
"Corona virus continues to spread our economy Thursday there was the stunning news the more than six and a half million Americans applied for unemployment last week and we're getting a closer look this morning at the ugly details in this area it's called unprecedented the number of claims that Maryland is taking in for its unemployment insurance program so we had told I'm over one hundred twenty thousand claims file just in the state of Maryland over the course of the past two weeks state department of labor Deputy Assistant Secretary Brian Moore says they typically see about forty thousand claims filed in a year he was speaking along with federal and local leaders to discuss the opportunities available to businesses in prince George's county John Aaron WTOP news numbers are even worse for Virginia where more than a hundred sixty thousand people have filed for unemployment benefits in the past two weeks in DC twenty nine thousand claims have been filed since March twenty first if you're among those looking for work right now there are ways to find it but it might not be easy the reality is companies right now are trying to figure out what their new normal is what some skills are transferable in a lot of fields in those skills will be in demand right now says Suzanne Mauro co founder of Washington career services in this area especially translation skills for doctors attorneys and different things that we need right now highlight any experience you have in healthcare even on the administrative side or in the mental health areas to touting your ability to work from home is a good idea right now as well but above all else no matter how slow it is don't get frustrated with what has been happening because it's not your resume or cover letter that's keeping you from getting hired right

Trump administration launches task force on missing, murdered indigenous peoples
"The White House Task Force on missing murdered indigenous women indigenous people met recently. The Task Force is comprised of federal officials and aims to address the disproportionate rates of missing and murdered. Native people joining us. Now is Catherine Sullivan. She is the principal. Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the Office of Justice Programs. Welcome to native America Calling Katie. Thank you I'm so pleased to be here and thank you for highlighting this issue absolutely also on the line. We have Kurt all me. He is the United States attorney for the district of Montana on Tanna. Welcome Kurt thanks Monica. It's a pleasure to be here Kenny. Let's start with you I understand the first meeting of the missing and murdered indigenous. People Task Task Force was on Wednesday. Tell us about that meeting. Well first I WANNA say and commend president trump in directing the creation the task force and really think the attorney general for making has designated on the task force. I have a CO chair and that is Terrorists Sweeney the assistant secretary of the Bureau of Indian affairs at the Department of Interior. We also have a designated from health and Human Services Services and the idea is that we are coming together to meet certain deliverables that were set by the president to address the epidemic of of missing Missing people and murdered people in in In native in I'm sorry Indian country So it is an exciting. The Task Force came together. Talked about creating and A consultation schedule so we he can be meeting our trust responsibility Working in a government to government fashion getting out to Different reservations in places. This is to hear feedback on what what they would like to see. The challenges that they're facing At the same time we're looking at building Some cold case teams in certain areas And data collecting is also something that is of great concern both to the president and we know from Indian countries so we are working on all of those friends and it was very exciting to be a part of the first task force meeting meeting and I look forward to everything. We're going to accomplish going forward. Yeah you have a tremendous job ahead of you with this task force. What do you hope will? We'll get accomplished this year. You know one of the things That's certainly near and dear to my heart and one of the things that I love about. The the president's executive order is it talks about creating a collaborative multidisciplinary teams to address these issues shoes and I know from my work with the office on violence against women and certainly in my position and running the office of justice programs. How how effective these multidisciplinary teams are when someone goes missing The effect on the community is so great. We WanNA to make sure that victims are served in including families of of of the missing People who go missing and you know have have been subject to some kind of crime. We WanNa make sure that we have victim services involved along with the appropriate Investigators I and officials and prosecutors and the people who can make sure that anyone who has been engaged in criminal conduct In Indian in country is held responsible so collaborating with all three of the agencies and with our native American partners. I just think there's GonNa be a huge success when we When the Task Force was first announced we did a show about it and one of the issues that was brought up on our show? was that that it didn't that. The task I didn't include any community members in particular survivors or a family members of survivors. Is there any effort to address address. This yes one hundred percent so a federal so when you put together a task force it must include food for all kinds of reasons that are far too laborious to go into now and would be very boring for the people listening but It it it must include just federal Basically Federal Employees All the rules change about meetings etc that are when you clued so the the idea is as we have the federal task force group that then we'll go out into Indian country to hear from native Americans. Of course yes. We are anxious to hear stories from survivors Families that have been left devastated by this issue and we we also are really looking forward to getting out into the field to get good and accurate data. Missing People. Data is very Makira coll- When someone goes missing and they're found we know that the different reporting systems aren't always updated so getting some accurate data is something thing that you know we're also looking forward to doing so engaging in a government to government fashion to meet our trust responsibility Onto our native American partners is primary to the task force. I can say as journalists. We are looking forward to having accurate data to report on as as well.
Canada hospital says it has confirmed case of deadly virus
"And may Toronto hospitals said Saturday that they have confirmed a case of the deadly virus from China Canada's first Sunnybrook health sciences center say that they are caring for a patient who has a confirmed case of the corona virus that originated in China as the Chinese struggle to stop the spread of it fears are increasing in the U. S. about corona virus but when should you really start paying attention I fully anticipate we're gonna see additional cases are attacks weaker so is Megan's director of health policy research at Raymond James says that could be ten to twenty cases and as a former Deputy Assistant Secretary at the department of health and Human Services he says he knows the situation is being watched closely every day all day you have tracking of this type of information to get too worked up about it not right now he says because people in the U. S. that have come down with the corona virus traveled to China if you start seeing human to human transmission within the United States that's when I would start to become concert he also says the US is well prepared to handle

What do the two trade deals mean for the economy?
"It's been an amazing week in the center ring we have just good dental she is a Deputy Assistant to the president and deputy director of White House communications just go what has been the most common response you've been the hearing regarding the passage from the business community thanks for having me on this afternoon the as you've seen on on the business channels and then the headlines in the of the stock market the business community community is thrilled with this president and the agreement that he's getting around the world that will open up markets for their businesses for our workers for our Rangers in agriculture producers and obviously our manufacturers so there's elation across the economic sector and it should be felt across the country because of this the two landmark agreement that the president got done this week alone are going to add hundreds of thousands of new jobs and billions hundreds of billions in new economic growth for our country just so you know what I find amazing is when the president first or what but actually is running for office a twenty sixteen he said that he was going to address these issues are been there when he became president he embarked on these issues add to his tactics spoke the market but most importantly is spooked the pundits especially you know the Democrats than those pundits on CNN MSNBC and we were told that this trade war with China was going to take the economy in the opposite has happened a yet Jessica it doesn't seem like the president is getting his due I normally an agreement of this magnitude and this historic presidents would have dominated the news for weeks and it had prior to the impeachment sham that China was all over the news in as you said everyone was saying that this president is going to destroy our farming community and drive up prices in the eye the opposite has happened in fact we have he has opened up markets for our agriculture community lowered barriers to increase purchases and has created and an economy in which everyone can grow and thrive so we need to continue to remind people of what folks are saying when he took office what folks have been saying all along and we were very pleased to see that we thousands of statements of support have come in and the plotting both of these a major trade agreements and yet I don't think the average citizen actually get to see much of the details how significant these policies truly are because the media still obsessed with the Democrats impeachment jam in the center ring of the because of the circus we have Jessica did all she is a Deputy Assistant to the president and deputy director of the White House communications you know right here in the great state of Arizona we have the Navajo Nation that was interested in this trade deal because their jewelry China was still near designs as selling get as their own your was selling a rip offs how much will this deal impact the economy in that it will tap down on this type of theft as the president promised he was going to take action to end of the fast and the technology transfer that the Chinese had been doing to our businesses over the last two decades in fact he's the only president that has gotten them to the table to agreed to enforceable measures that would stop this bad behavior and the president made sure that in the first phase of the agreement there's enforceable language that will allow the two countries to settle disputes and resolve them within a process that ensures that there is accountability and transparency with and the ways in which the Chinese used to operate and also we have he made sure that the force technology transfer well not entirely and fully address the problem has been has been resolved to an extent within this first phase the green it and will be written as a top priority for the second phase as well and in the meantime the president is keeping the terrorists on the Chinese to ensure that he have leverage and that they continue to knit and crochet at the table and good faith over the next several months in Z. you'll with coming up with the phase two to phase three was coming up with the next coming up next with China and other terror of do you think that this wind here is going to give up business leaders give our farmers give everyone involved more confidence in the president or do you think they're still apprehension to the way that he's going about trying to address this issue well I think as you know there is the top derangement syndrome in which folks just cannot believe that this president is getting anything done but they were the facts are on his side and you're seen the results play out across the economy and it through our national security efforts and and so I feel I think the and then prove all ratings within that that has with the president's approval ratings have risen over the course of the past many months despite the impeachment chance to win the Democratic Party is leading on artisan politics and impeachment well this president is focused on policy and wins for the American people and our national security it's cool it it is going to show that the names I fares are just obsessed with attacking this president but I have no substance and it and and policies on their side to promote so we feel we feel very defiant in that sense and focused on the positive things are getting done delivering land for the American people and this president is surely a fighter and he's definitely getting can ten you fighting for the American worker as he has done and she just this week with these two major trade agreements Jessica ditto with the White House in you know it's it's really a shame she was a because this president has had an incredible week and if you were anyone else other media would recognize that the country would be celebrating get here's some more things that are going on a report it General Motors and Ford took fifteen hundred temporary temporary workers and make them permanent gave them permanent time slots you got to know at what if you're gonna do that they're pretty confident as are forecasting to the future because you don't want to make somebody permit and then like fire them or you can't make a temple get now they're confident they're growing especially in the truck division you've got the USMC AEG gate being side got to China deal going through we got another seventy two billion dollars on the wall if he's reelected that wall is going to be finished we've got middle income federal tax cuts that are being promised it as part of the campaign of twenty twenty that's right we're talking about a middle class tax cut tax cut to point is what I'm hearing and that's something else that is going under the radar is that president trump revisit protecting public student a right to pray in school Obama certainly didn't do that I think George W. bush may have been too busy to do that but that is something that president trump promised to do and that this week actually did do yeah there's separation of church and state thing is kind of crazy is that public school children can't pray in school actually yes they can and the president has seen to that ladies and gentlemen this week has been another winner for

"Government, including as deputy assistant attorney general in the Justice department chief counsel phone nations on the Senate Judiciary committee, and as a deputy chief for the US courts joins us. We'll discuss Whitaker's role as a she'll for a bottom feeding invention promotion operation in Miami. That scammed inventors many of whom will veterans which the FBI investigated resulting in the company going out of business and paying fines in both promoting the scam. Then intimidating the victims who claim they ripped off by the scam Whitaker used his credentials as a former u U S attorney, and now as acting AG he oversees the FBI which investigated him then with President Trump's cancellation on Saturday of his visit to a US military cemetry in France to on America's fallen in World War One we will discuss the gathering of world leaders for the one hundredth anniversary of the armistice at which the president. France. Emmanuel Macron us the opportunity to denounce Trump's embrace of nationalism describing nationalism as a quote betrayal of patriotism, along with chauvinism nationalism was an undeniable cause of World War One in which to twenty million died a half of whom with civilians along with one hundred seventeen thousand Americans Jeffrey wire row professor and the director of the military history center at the university of North Texas and the author of mad catastrophe. The outbreak of World War One and the collapse of the Habsburg empire joins us to discuss. Whether the intellectually incubus in curious Donald Trump who gets a lot of information from conspiracy sites like info wars could be educated by his peers to accept the lessons of history. Then finally, we are joined in the studio by tell Durkee a documentary filmmaker who was born in Damascus and has been based in Berlin since twenty fourteen. He joins us to discuss his new documentary feature just out of fathers and sons, which reveals how deeply rooted Salafist Islam practiced by al-qaeda and promoted by Saudi Arabia is in the lives of the father and sons facing death as their country Syria is destroyed this powerful important film brings a unique insight to western audiences who for the first time we'll begin to understand what inspires and motivates jihadists to fight corrupt regimes in the Middle East and the US which they see as the enemy and joining us. Now is Lisa graves. The car director of documented a watchdog group that investigates how corporations to manipulate public policy harming our environment communities and democracy. She has served as a senior adviser and all three branches of the federal government as deputy assistant attorney general in the Justice department as chief counsel for nominations on the Senate Judiciary committee, and as a deputy chief for the US courts. Welcome to background briefing. Lisa graves. Thank you so much revenue on, Ian. Well, thank you, Lisa. And since you were a deputy chief for the US courts. I imagine that strikes you as a bit odd that the new acting attorney general Matthew Whitaker doesn't believe in Marbury versus Madison, which is the foundation for judicial review. So I guess to his mind much of your earlier career was was in vain, right? Shocking. You know, it's really a crackpot thing to say for this guy to have really challenged the most important the most fundamental real precedent, a US history, which is Marbury versus Madison that is settled law beyond settled law. That's core to our checks and balances and core to the interpretation of our constitution. And so to have someone installed even temporarily at the head of the US Justice. Hugh has such a crackpot belief is shopping. Well, his professional career, such as it is is very very much marred by recent revelations about his job that he had on the board of a scamming company down in Florida and invention promotion company cool will patent marketing thanks to the work of Brittany shameless of the Miami New times they were able to obtain a letter from the FBI's victim specialists confirming that they were investigating the FBI up until recently, and the idea that the acting attorney general has been investigated by the FBI full fraud. And now he's in charge of the FBI those optics onto good. Well, if they're not good. And in fact, it's terrible. It it it both underscores how a completely Saudi and an app. This White House is Trump White House is at betting of any kind. And also it just shows how what happens when a nepotism and loyalty overtake, the rational process for staffing, the top positions of our government in this case, you have a firm that he was an adviser. I'd adviser for that Justice spring not in the distant past just as spring was subject to a multimillion dollar fine by the federal government for this in as part of this fraud investigation and ongoing issues related to the victims of that of that company. That was basically ripping off American Americans who have ingenuity the desire to patent their inventions, and the, you know, these agencies have agencies don't just go entering a multimillion dollar fines for nothing. That was a serious a serious set of issues. And he I wasn't advised that firm, but also, you know, he has a checkered past and other ways, for example. He also when he ran for the state Senate in twenty fourteen on lost to Joni Ernst, and the primary in Iowa he actually set at a public forum that if he were to become a Senator that he would impose a test on potential judicial nominees about whether they had a quote, biblical view of Justice. I don't know if that means stoning eye for an eye cutting off a hand death for, you know, an array of of of offenses, but the fact is is that our United States constitution from the very beginning of its passage in article six of the US constitution has expressly forbidden there from being any religious test for office for the federal government in the United States that was part of our founding fathers determination, and it is unambiguous. That any such tests would be invalid. But this guy thinks that he can do whatever he wants apparently. Well, it's particularly disturbing that he worked for this bottom. Feeding scamming operation that ripped off veterans. I might add right? And he played a major role because he was brought in as an former US attorney. They advertise that he was in that promotional videos, and apparently they just pretended to help these people and did some mockup drawings of their inventions, which one of the inventors said, you know, his grandchild could have done a better job. It's pretty clear that they would just taking the money and running. And then when the ripped off customers, the inventors who gave put up a bunch of money up front and got nothing in return when they complained Whitaker himself, actually using the fact that he's a former US attorney, harass these people and told him that he could come off to them using the full weight of his experiences attorney, so so he was used his credentials as he us attorney will use. To attract these investors who they ripped off. And then when the investors complained he used his credentials as a former US attorney to intimidate them. That's that's exactly right in and it's so disturbing because you know, the the weight of of being a federal prosecutor and being a fall four federal prosecutor should not be deployed on behalf of a commercial enterprise, and certainly not used to intimidate people who are making claim to a private entity. And and I think that that actually causing a question potential Barr. Thank shins, if he had been, you know, I I it's also a question of anyone who would be in any role at the department and attorney role who had done this previously who had made those threats who basically true that wait around to intimidate people who are making a complaint about a company they were to go through a background check for, you know, for a new position, and that came up that would be a serious ethical issue of whether. A person should be trust with any role. Even the smallest most entry level role at the Justice department. Let alone to be at the top of it. And again, I'm speaking with Lisa graves directive documented, the watchdog group that investigates how corporations manipulate public policy harming our environment communities and democracy. She has served as a senior adviser and also branches of the federal government as deputy assistant attorney general in the Justice department as chief counsel phone nominations on the Senate Judiciary committee, and as deputy chief for the US courts. Now, of course, when Trump was departing for the armistice hundred year memorial in France, the end of World War One in the rose garden. He took some questions and kept saying repeatedly. I don't know Matthew Whitaker. I don't know Matthew Wittig. And of course, the cable news people have managed to juxtapose him only a few weeks ago saying, oh, yes, I know, Matthew Whitaker. So now he's trying to distance himself. I didn't know whether that means. Means that somebody spoken to him saying, this guy's an embarrassment. Maybe Rupert Murdoch Osama vs friends that talked him all the time on the phone have told him, this is really pretty bad. I mean, it's the Wall Street Journal, incidentally, that has been breaking a lot of stories about how unqualified and how potentially corrupt this man is. So I don't know what's going on them. What do you think? Because the truth of the matter is that Trump was so mad at the attorney general Jeff Sessions that this guy came over to the White House for meetings in sessions place because Trump's simply didn't want him in the room. So Trump actually spent a lotta time with Whittaker. Yeah. I mean, it's it's really shocking. I mean, in a way not. It's not shocking that President Trump lied about this the many lies that he issues on a daily basis, but this surprising because it's just wrong and wrong morally wrong if incorrect according to what the public record show that it's contradicted by prior statements contradicted by the statements of people who've been at meeting involving Whitaker involving Trump. It's it's really just so false. It's shocking that he thinks that he can get away with this continue through falsity in the face of evidence. But when you think about Whittaker as well, you know, he was US attorney for the district of Iowa. But you know, I worked on some of those US attorney nominations when I was at the Senate Judiciary committee, and quite frankly, we had a situation where we really could not stop any of Bush's US attorney nominees during that period. We were busy trying to protect the courts for lifetime appointments and the US are trained position as important as it is one that was a temporary position for that post in a state. Like Iowa or somewhere else? And there was no way we were gonna be able to filibuster those Omni's when we had a set to battle with the Republicans over some of these most extreme people who are being nominated for the federal bench for the circuit court. And so the fact that he had that credential past that, it was approved unanimously was justified, unfortunately of us not being able to stop those lower level appointees from those positions, but in this instance, with Whittaker I think do see the president apparently kind of distanced himself from him. But it's also quite clear that he was chosen because of his antagonism toward sessions and more importantly chosen because of his antipathy toward Muller and the investigation his statements on CNN, which were basically designed to get him a job within the administration criticizing the investigation claiming there was no evidence echoing President Trump. And and so on that point. It's even more extraordinary and outlandish for this person. Ought to be given this role. It really is a coup at the department of Justice to have this person installed unilaterally by the president without Senate consent. Without any real betting, and who has such serious serious, cloud hanging over based on his past statements, including crackpot statement. So it was clear that we did audition. And basically he was on CNN on the interested in an audience one. And we know that Trump spends most of his working day watching television. In fact, he admitted the other day when he attacked a African American female journalists in the rose garden when he was basically saying I never heard of this guy who Matthew Hiddick can no I don't know him. I don't know him. It was at that moment that he was asked to whether or not this was a precursor for firing Mela. And he just said that was a stupid question, and he attacked this journalists, but he did tweet out Trump that Leonard Leo the federal society was among the people who thought very highly of Whitaker and recommended him to him. That's pretty extraordinary..
