Sebastian Welcomes Cybersecurity Expert Mike Benz

"Talk to one man who in my opinion he's done the lion's share of the work, releasing for us the information on just how dangerous our republic's grip on the truth is, thanks to certain bad actors inside U.S. government, we are delighted to having back with us here on America first. Mike Ben's greetings. Greetings to you as well as Sebastian. Thank you so much for having me. All right, first things first, we're gonna go deep dive, we're gonna do a full hour on the latest revelations. We're gonna talk about what happens inside DHS across the government to try and control narratives. But first things first, everybody write this down. Foundation for freedom online dot com. That's foundation for freedom online dot com of which you are the executive director and right now follow this man on Twitter. Mike Ben's cyber. That's Mike Ben's BEN Z cyber. Before we talk about the things that you broke yesterday on Tuesday, let's talk about just a moment if for those who missed our last discussion. So what was your position inside the U.S. government, Mike? Sure. So I was the cyber das, which is deputy deputy assistant secretary for international communications and information technology, which is a long way of saying I ran the big tech portfolio. At the end of 2020, during a period of intense consolidation of big tech and big government, we're really the main adversarial party was the free speech rights of U.S. citizens. And so I saw from inside how big government and big tech were really wrapped into one sort of interest group, one sort of lobby group for their own sort of proprietary pecuniary interest where there was really no lobby for the American people, especially to be able to speak freely online.

"Delighted to have Mike Ben's back with us for one on one. Mike, welcome back to America first. Smash and thank you so much for having me. I'm excited to continue our deep dive. So am I so am I so you are, you have reinvented yourself recently. You are the founder you are the head of something called the foundation for freedom online. I want everybody who is listening right now to go to foundation for freedom, dot com and also to follow Mike because he is a treasure trove of information. It's Mike Ben's cyber on Twitter. That's a mic bends BE and Z cyber on Twitter. For those who missed our last chat, just very quickly to get the credentialing out of the way. What did you do in so you're an attorney by training? Now you're fighting for freedom for the First Amendment on the online world in which so many of us spend far too much of our time. But what were your positions? What were you doing inside government Mike until recently? Sure. So before I founded the foundation for freedom online, I was the, I ran basically the cyber portfolio at the State Department. So the technical name was deputy assistant secretary for international communication technology, which is a long way of saying, I ran three different divisions at the State Department responsible for various aspects of U.S. cyber policy on the global stage that is the formulation of policy, the negotiation and implementation. And then prior to that, I was a White House speechwriter and worked particularly on tech issues there as well.

Who Is Mike Benz?

"Are delighted to have with us Mike Ben's Mike. Welcome to America first. Thanks for having me Sebastian. So Mike, we were on a Twitter spaces last night. I was feverishly making notes for the things you said. You've done multiple longer discussions online, you're the director of something called the foundation for freedom online. We'll discuss what their mission is in a moment. It's foundation for freedom online dot com. But first, let's talk about your background. Why are you involved with the question of the Twitter files Internet censorship, the exploitation of social media? What did you do as a government employee? Sure. So in 2020, I served as the deputy assistant secretary for international communications and information technology, which is a long way of saying that I ran the State Department's cyber portfolio. Our big tech foreign diplomacy on the policy side and the negotiation side. And in the context of working on big tech issues from the diplomatic perspective, I saw this this occurred really during the moments when the Internet changed forever with the deep platforming of a sitting president with this dramatic escalation of censorship and I watches the relationship between the federal government and private sector stakeholders had a had a sort of one two punch against the freedoms of the American people. And there really is no lobby for the American people. Yet I was fielding calls from Google lobbyists for how the federal government could help them overseas while Google was, in turn, censoring half of the U.S. population. So this is a relationship that the only loser here are people without representation. So when I went left government, I considered my mission to try to do what I could to help the civilian side of that.

Managing the Digital Strategy of the Trump Administration

"Do in the Trump administration? And how did you end up in the Trump administration? Well, you know, I did what a lot of immigrants do, which is, you know, figure things out here in my new home country. And they went to school. I ended up in the advertising business in New York. I did pretty much your mad men type advertising for 20 or so years. And at some point, I ended up with an ad agency that had a guy named Donald Trump as a client. And so where did you first go into the Trump administration at the Department of State or somewhere else? No, I went straight to Department of State. I came in as the deputy assistant secretary for digital strategy and my goal was just to bring what I did when I learned from the private sector to make our foreign policy the best for the world.

What's Happening in the Middle East? Mike Doran Explains

"So that's a little bit of credentialing here. What was your job in the NSC? Michael Duran? I was the senior director for the Middle East and North Africa. And he was the man for that region in the NSC and then in the DoD. I was a dazzy deputy assistant Secretary of Defense. He's using Washington lingo to go there. So this is your real forte your area of expertise. What is happening in the Middle East is this just another one of these cyclical low level pushback against the regime of the mullahs in Iran that will be quashed like all the others or are you seeing signs of something different here? Let's while Mike's talking, let's run a bit of B roll of these incredibly brave women, most of them very, very young, ripping off their hijabs, ripping off their scarves and just dancing through the streets of Tehran. Tell us Mike, what's going on? Is this different? It is different. It's a $64,000 question as to whether it will become just one more wave. But it is a wave of protests that's different from all of the others. How? It's, first of all, it's gone on longer. It's wider, it's in all the ethnic areas, all the different ethnic areas, Iran's a multi ethnic country, all Strata of society. In all of the cities, and interestingly, it's more obviously directly explicitly anti regime than any of the other protests. Because of the headscarf element. The head scarf is a symbol of the regime. It's not, this isn't just feminism. These aren't just women. This is oppression by the regime. Yes. And so that is the symbol of the regime. If you're against the headscarf, you're against the regime by definition. So

"Turn back to the matter at hand, there's so much in this docket that we're talking about here. Espionage act. Secret files that the FBI has compiled. Documents. And then this reference to nuclear documents, which could pertain to a lot of things, but of course we heard from the other side of the aisle that is not taken part in any of this business. With the FBI rate in many cases, defending Donald Trump, we've been through that this hour. It might turn a Republican from Ohio on the idea of classified nuclear documents earlier today in the house. I can tell you that there are a number of things that are classified that fall under the umbrella of nuclear weapons, but that are not necessarily things that are truly classified. And many of them you can find on your own phone is as we stand here. And if they fall within that category, they're not imminent national security threat that would rise to the level of, you have to raid Donald Trump's home and spend 9 hours there. I did check my phone and I didn't find any. But I'm not sure exactly what he was referring to to be perfectly honest with you. It's just a fascinating narrative going on in Washington. Nothing agrees here again. Joel Rubin former deputy assistant Secretary of State the Obama administration, specialist on Iran and Russia held high level security clearances as a deputy assistant Secretary of State. Served in the Bush administration for a time as well. With us now on the fastest hour in politics, Joel, there's a lot to talk about here, but specifically when it comes to nuclear, how do you react to congressman Turner on that that a lot of essentially classified documents aren't really all that classified? Joe, I'm a guest. Okay. Mike Turner is the congressman who for years has been known as a, quote, nuclear hawk. As someone who has been a major advocate for America's nuclear infrastructure for unlimited spending to ensure that we have a safe arsenal, one that's effective for being tough on foreign adversaries who have or want to possess nuclear weapons, Russia and Iran come to mind. For him to gaslight in this manner to talk down the severity of the nuclear information that may very well have been loose at Donald Trump's home is just shocking and deeply disappointing. And for all of us who served the national security, quite frankly, a dizzying. It doesn't make sense. But from a factual standpoint, are there grades of classification when it comes to nuclear documents? Can you explain that? You bet. I mean, and the grades were on the boxes that were taken out of Mar-a-Lago. There are Q level clearances. It's known, which is the highest that's the nuclear of a certain level of expertise. There's top secret SCI, which is sensitive compartmentalized information, which is for a limited amount of users. We call them consumers of that information. Policy makers, and then goes down to top secret and then down the secret. And so nuclear could encompass a variety of things from plans about the actual infrastructure where targets are where our infrastructure is located to information about our adversaries. It runs the gamut. We do not know what's in those boxes. And the mere concept that we're even thinking about it is a complete threat to our allies who are going to be worried about what has been exposed. And it undermines confidence in our nuclear infrastructure. So back away from this, because we're obsessed with specifics today, we were so hungry from them for them. But a lot of folks are asking, well, what in the world was Donald Trump doing with 35 boxes down in Mar-a-Lago to begin with explain why that's a problem to begin with? Because let's say the records, the presidential records act, and some of this stuff, okay, fine, you know what, people need to calm down. This guy was the president as we heard from, I believe it was actually congressman Turner today. He's got more classified information in his head than he ever had in a document. What could happen if you just type of material being left relatively insecure as we know before the FBI asked the additional lock was put on the door. What type of threat does that present if it's actually living with a former president? Yeah, you know, Joe, you just don't know. And that's why any of us, all of us who receive security clearances, we were trained from day one in a training about how to make sure you take care of your secure classified material. The number one line was you can't take it home with you. You just don't take this stuff out of the secure facility. You leave it there. You leave it in the locker. You leave it in the room. It never leaves. It is unknown. And for over a year plus, it's Sydney Mar-a-Lago, identities. Who knows who's running around that place? Who knows what foreign adversaries are buying tickets to go hang out with the president? And meandering through the hallways. Okay, so we don't know. That's getting a little closer to a legitimate threat. Direct threat, you don't bring secure classified material home to an insecure location ever. And the president of the United States is not exempt from that either. This president playing fast and loose with the nation's secrets puts us all at risk. We've talked about this, the fact, apparently, that Donald Trump didn't actually box up all this stuff. He had stuff everywhere, some of these documents were stacked up. Some of them had nothing to do with each other, some of them had been torn up, apparently. And so they scooped up everything in the oval, they shipped it all down to Mar-a-Lago. Does that suggest intent? Maybe on behalf of someone else does the chief of staff take the fall for that is to Donald Trump even though it was in those boxes? So much for the buck stops here, right? Just those days are long gone. It's his house, it's his property. He was warned early on after he left office that he had boxes of materials that need to be returned to the government. He refused to turn over boxes for months. It's the repeated request, right? That's what makes this so much much June. Yeah. He was subpoenaed in June and they refused to comply. This was not a raid. This was an enforcement of a subpoena that the target of the subpoena refused to respond to. He knew it clear as day. Joel Rubin, great to have you with us former deputy assistant Secretary of State with us on Bloomberg sound on. "Get to our next guest Matt Mick mulroy cofounder of the lobo institute Listen to this bio It's just ridiculous Talk about a misspent youth Senior fellow at Middle East institute former deputy assistant Secretary of Defense for the Middle East at the U.S. Department of Defense Former paramilitary operations officer at CIA I don't know what that is Former U.S. Marine infantry officer I mean what's this guy been doing with this life Mick thanks so much for joining us here I mean how did this all start Just before we get to the serious stuff did you grow up in a military family or what No my dad poll is actually a professor So he was kind of shocked myself and joined the marines That's how you go That's when you got your JD from Stanford from Stanford University Sanford right Basically other people would just say I can't hold a job It has been ridiculous And you also dive master certification dude Patty dive master This guy just never sits on your dive master Yeah Matt Miller is a dive master Shocking I mean Eric you did not see that coming All right let's get serious stuff here Mick I'm probably like a lot of folks I am shocked at how poorly the Russian military has performed in Ukraine Give us your sense given your background your experience about what's happened over the past two months in Ukraine on the ground on the field Yeah Paul So I think the first plug for my old profession is the Intel has gotten the Russian intentions dead on Where we fallen short quite frankly is our analysis in our assessment of how the Russians would do based on what we thought they could do militarily And the Ukrainians ability to resist them So most all belcher analysts I know got that part wrong Happily quite frankly and they're all I think happily to admit that So the Russians have proven to be quite frankly incapable for so when it comes to conventional warfare They're invaded a country right next to them and they can't even keep up with the logistics train required to do that There are soldiers are completely undisciplined and quite frankly tactically incompetent However they have a lot of firepower and that's what they're using to try to brutalize the Ukrainian population to gain something out of this whole endeavor So what can the west do or is the west doing enough to help the Ukrainians defend themselves against that firepower in this sort of second wave Sure So the west is doing a lot But we have to be able to do more And it's not a criticism quite frankly of what we're doing It's just that it's really going to come down especially in the next phase is phase it just started The battle for the Donbass is president zelensky Is really going to be a logistics battle We have to be able to not only get the weapon systems but a continuous non interrupted supply of ammunition out there to help the Ukrainians who have proved that they are obviously have the will to fight and the capability to fight the Russians How about some of the higher tech military equipment whether it's anti aircraft systems or anything else to try to get a little bit more control of the sky here How far do you think the U.S. administration is willing to go with some of our more higher technology military equipment So I would look at this in two stages So right now we're giving them weapon systems they know how to use Because they don't have time necessarily to train on all these really advanced systems They use primarily Russian But in the future we need to start pulling some of these individuals out to train them on these advanced patriot air and missile defense systems Those type of systems ultimately are where they should be going Can't we just not fit an aircraft carrier through the Bosporus Like why don't we just turn one of those guys lose for a couple of days Yeah I mean don't we have the capability to stop the Russians especially if they're committing war crimes in a European nation Sure we have the capability to stop Russia I think that's now very obvious to anybody that's looking at how the Russians are performing in Ukraine The question is do we want to start a war with Russia They're only real way to fight us specifically Is to go nuclear because they will lose in a conventional fight That is now obvious So that is the decision Do we want to potentially come straight head to head with Russia a third World War if you will with the idea that the only way they could be successful is to use nuclear weapons And then therefore we have a nuclear war We're not entering the war but for humanitarian reasons you know just to protect the Red Cross set up a no fly zone Well that is that is a legitimate question We could set up one We could set up humanitarian assistant zones in certain parts where we could put the air coverage over it so that the missile defense I think that's a viable and legitimate question If we want to stop the Russians from flying no fly zone we have to be willing to shoot down Russian aircraft It hit Russian air defense So that would take us directly into conflict with Russia Real quick 30 seconds Tell us what you know about the new commander of the Russian forces Yes so devoted cough Alexander devoted He is very experienced in Chechnya and Syria He was ultimately the deciding factor in both of those in grozny and Chechnya and then Aleppo in Syria because of the brute force tactics he's a scorched first general They want that in Ukraine and I think we're seeing it continued into this new phase All right Mick thanks so much for joining us Always appreciate getting your perspective You're experienced the benefit of your experience Here as we try to again make sense of what's going on on the ground in Ukraine Mick mulroy is a cofounder of the lobo institute Lots of experience in the military and "8 6 6 5 O Jimbo one 8 6 6 5 O 5 four 6 two 6 as we talked with former deputy assistant Secretary of Defense elbridge Colby the author of the strategy of denial from Yale University press here is Rodney and Charleston West Virginia good evening Yes you're on the radio Go right ahead Yes sir Yes sir Brad and her accurate reports I believe accurate that China has a 100 million men army which I believe is not a 100 million men No no no They don't have a 100 million They have the largest they have the largest military in the world but certainly not a 100 million in the army no Well I mean in the military okay well well I mean no Every single part of the people's Liberation Army navy air force missile systems everything No they don't have a 100 million Yes sir But I read what I believe was an accurate report several years ago that China was putting out building at least it was at least one ship per week With a huge number in their military Well they have the world's largest military and they I don't know if they're putting out a ship a week that would be a little optimistic I think I'll defer to mister Colby in that regard do you have any thoughts about the pace of Chinese naval shipbuilding in the total size of their people in uniform It's extraordinary So Rodney I think it's put his finger on the I'm not exactly sure I don't think it's quite a ship a week but my good friend is a Thomas shugart is worth following on Twitter and elsewhere he's written really shown how rapid and significant China's naval buildup is And I think it's worth remembering that after Pearl Harbor is disastrous as it was we could be confident because we had the world's largest shipbuilding industry and there were hundreds of ships coming off the line including aircraft carriers and battleships and so forth Well if that happened today you know who has the world's biggest shipbuilding industry in naval and otherwise is China And so that's something we're no longer the arsenal of democracy that they're really the industrial based neck gets back to the arsenal of hot dogs They're an arsenal They're not unfortunately the case Rama in fairfax California good evening You need to can you hear me clearly You're on the radio Go right ahead All right thanks Jim I have a little different perspective on this Did I think might be helpful if we could make it work And that's this idea that so far we've always been thinking of countries like Russia and China as eternal rivals or enemies And the possibility could be that we think of them and work towards making them friends and allies And we've tried that We've spent the last several decades trying to do that with China and all we got was cheated It's not exactly like that we've been creating this problem No I'm not saying there's any particular fall but there's still the idea that it's idealistic to be friends in a Warren and with China and Russia today given their leadership it is beyond optimistic it is flat out fairytale land Well I hope in some way we can turn that around and make it Well but at this point I hope it's not going to carry us very far but I'll defer to elbridge Colby Well I would just say particularly in the case of China I agree with Jim I don't think that just trying to be nice is going to work with it There are two strong and there are two ambitious And I think we can see the way they're behaving I mean they've started border clashes with the Vietnamese the Indians Taiwan you name it So the best strategy is going to be to be very strong and then they'll be compelled to respect us I think we could see with Russia significant change in the future though The more powerful China becomes the more scared the Russians are going to become themselves and they don't want to admit that to us if they hate their guts and the feeling but it's always saying that their guts So there are a lot of natural resources in Siberia So and I think look what happened I mean Mao Zedong was one of the most loathsome people who ever lived but the United States made peace with him in order to deal with the bigger threat and we could see something happen similarly in the future I don't think it's anticipated right now but it could happen even in the medium term Frank and Cumberland Maryland next to Lou Frank You concerned with foreign enemies of the United States but what about the domestic enemies of the United States who are well educated well financed which particular domestic enemies did you have in mind since the foreign enemy seemed to be the ones we're talking about tonight Do you have any enemies in mind that related all to the topic at hand Yes Intellectuals like filled the brokers and the claim and I've got a beautiful example of whatever But these are people who are no longer a problem out there So I'll let mister Jacoby respond if he chooses to but I'm a little pushed to try and segue that into what we're talking about I'll move on to the next one Jim Fair enough All right Thomas and archaea California good evening Good evening Jim and mister Kobe I just wanted to briefly touch on our you guys familiar with project door Project Thor I'm not and I can guarantee you our audience is not so what is project Thor I heard it briefly on our radio broadcast sometime ago and it was really true Solid it was solid titanium like phone pole bigger than a phone pull and they were well what What is solid titanium and bigger than a phone call Missiles tree trunks what No What I'm getting at is these things are falling with no nuclear blast They fall so fast out of the sky how do they get up in the sky Well initially the government was going to scrap the project because it was so expensive to hoist I mean what is the benefit of dropping dropping titanium poles from wherever they're coming from I've never heard of such a thing nor can I imagine why this would look particularly desirable Because they're falling at like 23,000 miles an hour while they fill that fast they would burn up before they hit the ground I think it's safe to say Thomas that we are not under the direct threat of titanium poles but I'll defer to elbridge Colby Yes I don't know I don't know much about it The only thing I'll say is I mean there are a lot of things that are being developed now That Chinese hypersonic test that I mean apparently that's a serious threat And some of these effects can be achieved without an explosive It can just be the kinetic force So but we got to keep up I mean we got to make sure that we're frankly the baddest guy on the block so that we don't mess with our interests I mean I think we should be restrained and how we employ it People should have the sense that we can be trusted with sharp objects but on the other hand I think we want to err on the side of strength We'll continue with more in just a moment We're planning a trip to.

"I tried to help them. Colleague zondo elevate the issue in the department. Actually get it to the secretary of defense. Christopher mellon served as deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence for presidents clinton and george w bush and had access to top secret government programs. So it's not us. That's one thing we know. We know that i can say that. With very high degree of confidence in part because of the positions i held in the department. And i know the process mellon says he grew concerned. Nothing was being done about you. Ap's so he decided to do something in two thousand seventeen as a private citizen. He surreptitiously acquired three navy videos. Lozano had declassified and leaked them to the new york times. It's bizarre and unfortunate that someone like myself has to do something like that to get a national security issue like this on the agenda he joined forces with now civilian lou alesando and they started to tell their story to anybody who would listen to newspapers. The history channel two members of congress. We knew and understood that you had to go to the public. The public interested to get congress interested to then circle back to defense department and get them to start taking a look at it and now it is last year. The pentagon resurrected a tip. It's now called the a. P. task force service members now are encouraged to report strange encounters and the senate wants answers. Anything that enters an airspace. That's not supposed to be. There is a threat after receiving classified briefings on you. Ap's senator marco rubio called for a detailed analysis this past december while he was still head of the intelligence committee he asked the director of national intelligence and the pentagon to present congress and unclassified report by next month. This is a bizarre issue. The pentagon and other branches of the military have a long history of sort of dismissing this. What makes you think this time. It's going to be different. I mean we're gonna find out when we get that report. There's a stigma capitol hill. I mean some of my colleagues are very interested in this topic and some kind of you know giggle when when you bring it up. But i don't think we can allow the stigma to keep us from having an answer to very fundamental question. What do you want us to do about this. I want us to take it seriously and have a process to take it seriously. I want to have a process to analyze the data. "Next is gonna be exciting. I think two thousand twenty. It's going to be even more exciting. Having seen the president recently new york. I'm convinced he's going to run. I think he's gonna win. One of the biggest challenges we face if that occurs. We got a win the house. We got to win the senate. We're going to take back. The white house is how we get good people onto the bench and into the next administration you were nominee a trade nominee for the trump administration. The democrats blocked you left right and center. of course. they're going to do that to anybody. Who's good and who's going to be a fighter but isn't the biggest challenge just finding people who are willing to do what you did down to actually put their name down for position after what we've seen happen to people who believe in america thrust you're exactly right that The brutalizing Using the criminal justice system using the media Of nominees has only intensified. most americans. See it at the supreme court level but it occurs all the way down to the deputy assistant secretaries and ambassadors The foreign affairs committee stranded. "Us Right now? It's Sergio Dale opinion he's running for Virginia governor is in him. Grant and retired Army colonel served in the Pentagon as well as assistant secretary of defense for the Western Hemisphere. That's a big job, sir. Good morning. Good to have you with us. Good morning. Vance's The pleasure to be with you and married today. Tell us why you threw your hat into the ring, sir. Well, I want to protect the American dream. I've lived the American dream and currently, the American dream is under assault by The General Assembly and our democratic governor in Richmond. I can tell you a little bit about my bile, but but I want to have you pointed in the right direction. Well, I would actually like t talk a little bit about your story because you are an immigrant to the United States. And I've have a theory that the reason we're moving away from those values that you talk about us because so many Americans are away from their immigrant story. So many Americans are, you know more than more than two generations away from why their ancestor came to this country because When you do when you know that story because it's been told to you over and over and over again. I think you have different a different set of values than if you don't know this story. What do you think? I agree. And so my story is a simple one. I I was born in Mexico grew up in a house of dirt floors and running water. And that was just the reality of how we lived. Came to the United States legally when I was five with my mom and my brothers to join my dad. We didn't have a lot of money. So my dad decided that the family needed to go to work when I was 10. So we started picking cotton you did. It is a family. I did 20 different jobs from the time I started picking country the time I went to the Army. Spent 30 years in the army. I was a defense consultant and contractor, and then I was had the opportunity to join president then candidate Trump. Campaign to reach out to Hispanic voters, and I think we did a pretty decent job because I'm like we we contributed to getting him elected. Um and so I was then invited to be part of the transition team into the Pentagon. And then later, President Trump tapped me to be the deputy assistant secretary defense for Western Hemisphere. Hemisphere affairs. And that I'm very proud of the fact that when I left three months ago, we had the best alignment with countries in this hemisphere with United States s. Oh, that's that's been that the recap of my story and I just want to say that The uniqueness of my American story isn't and I'm not at all unique. There are many, many American stories. I'm sure that you can come up with some yourself and you live some of us. Yes, sir. So when as an immigrant as somebody who legally immigrated to the United States when you hear these debates in Virginia, in particular about being accommodating to illegal immigration at all costs, including recently in Fairfax County, where they've expanded the definitions of what it means to be a sanctuary county where they're trying to resist as much as they can cooperating with immigration and customs enforcement. What do you think when you see stories like that? Well, I'm very troubled because great cognitive dissonance. The thing that we've always promoted in the military is rule of law. That's what the United States is all about. That's what this country was founded on. And when we start violating our own laws and enforced by our own leaders were on the wrong track. I've thought communism and socialism my entire career and I know what it was like when it was during the Cold War who were facing off against the Soviet Union from an attack into central Europe to then helping our partners in Latin America defend against guerilla war to them. When I was the attache, seeing how Chavez got elected, I was an observer of his election. The first ones they're clean. And then after that he had a subsequent series of crooked elections and we've seen what happened in Venezuela. I'm not saying that we're Venezuela by any means, because we are the United States. But a lot of the same trend lines that I've seen with socialists are now coming to the fore. And you're gonna be talking later about Chinese influence. And, uh, the United States. While all this was going on, the Chinese were working their brand of communism that is much more insidious and much more powerful. And we are the victims of all of it. And the lawlessness doesn't help. That's for sure. No, not at all. So there are a lot of you have a lot of contenders for the Republican nomination. What separates you from them? I think my story and my experience is really the key. I can talk to a foreman. I can talk to somebody who used to be my boss on the drilling rig on Harvest platform on it, a lumber yard. And a welding shop and I can talk to the president and I have talked to president and I have. I had I still have some personal relationships with some of the ministers of dissent in the hemisphere haven't reached out to them recently because of where I'm at. But when I was in my job, I have it. I had direct contact with every single minister of defense in this hemisphere. So I understand that, Brooke that broad range I lead lead soldiers. And military personnel and I've managed budgets, and I know how to design policy to scandals budgets, So I think that makes me a little different, and one other thing is that I could reach out to those immigrant communities. That know what it's like to live under socialism and communism. And then we could relate because I've had the opportunity to do so. Here in Northern Virginia, we have We have Asian communities. We have Hispanic community. We have the entire world. This is one of the most eclectic collection of Americans that you've ever seen anywhere else. And I can tell you those that left those Communist countries are not happy with the direction that we're headed. No, That's very true. That is very, very true. Well, thank you so much. We appreciate you joining us as Sergio Della Penna. He's running for Virginia governor, and we wish you the best of luck. I'm sure we'll be speaking with you again. Mary, Can I just add one thing? Sure. Please follow me at surgical Della penna dot com. Sergio Della penna dot com. I appreciate your support. Thank you very much for having me. Sure think you have a great day..

Good. Law abiding Americans can't get him. I mean, they're having a heck of a time all across the country getting him but we're gonna vaccinate those terrorists. Don't want them to be in danger and think about everyone's having a tough time, even registering, trying to book an appointment to get their vaccination and these people in Guantanamo, they don't have to do anything. The vaccination comes right to them. There's nowhere to sign up. Yes, indeed. That's like if I were at home, and they called up and said, Hey, we could bring in the vaccination right now as well. No, I hate to say it. The answer is no. I don't wish death upon many people. But there's somewhere I would allow it. Yes, indeed. And you wonder why they weren't executed in the first place. I mean, they shouldn't just be behind bars when they kill that many people and they're terrorists. And to me, there should have been a public execution to show Americans that we are dealing with terrorism. Now they're in the slammer, gonna feed him and clothe them and all that stuff the rest of their lives. Although they can't go anywhere. Guantanamo is pretty neat place other than being in prison. "1055 w P R Sleep Woman from I have radio team here on this MLK Day and coming up. We'll talk about the life and legacy of Dr Martin Luther King Jr also will talk about the security preparations underway for the inauguration this Wednesday. Right now, though, let's get an update on the pandemic. And to do that. I'm joined by Rear Admiral Doctor Felicia Collins, director of the Office of Minority Health in the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services. Dr Collins. Thanks so much for taking a few minutes to talk to us about this, and let's start with an update on where things stand right now. With the pandemic. We've certainly seen a major increase. In the outbreak following the holidays, So you're absolutely right. The numbers of infection across the nation remain at a high level and it is really concerning from after the recent holidays we have seen and continue to see increases. The number of cases and there was a possible is a shins and death. So that the CDC reports we are well over the 20 million mark nationwide. Um, and numbers of deaths are likewise increasing. It's actually chilling In some ways when we hear someone like Dr Fauci, who has been involved in infectious disease outbreaks for 40 years, say that this is The worst thing he has ever seen in his career. But I do want to say that despite those numbers, I'm really encouraged by the fact that we now have two vaccines that are available. Enough. State and local governments are executing their vaccination plans shot to going into arms across the nation, which is really, really important, and so we're at a point where the federal the state the local government Healthcare providers, community based organizations, advocacy media like yourself, We are all working together to get the word out about covert vaccination and to answer any questions. And concerns that exist so it's really important that we are all ready to receive that vaccine when it becomes available test. I'm joined by Rear Admiral Doctor Felicia Collins, deputy assistant secretary from minority Health in the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services and director of the Office of Minority Health. Tell us about the impact this pandemic has had on minority communities across the country. As someone who focuses on minority health. There's certainly been a disproportionate impact on those communities and variety of different ways. Correct. That is correct. And if we just look at the data, the data show us that African Americans, Latinos and American Indians, Alaska natives at a national level or more likely to test positive for Covitz. More likely to be hospitalized and more likely to die compared to non Hispanic whites. And while Cove it indeed has revealed or really shined a bright light on racial ethnic disparities in the U. S. These disparities that we're seeing, unfortunately, are really the same as existed before Covad 19 so their differences in these covert health outcomes or helped experiences we call it and and they reflect conditions that we live in which the public health term for that is social determinants of health. And social determinants of health include whether we have access to health care and whether we have quality health care. But there are a number of other elements that are also included in social determinants of health. They include things like our housing in the transportation we use and access to education and job opportunities just to name a few. So if we apply this social determinants of health concept to Cove in Communities of color more likely to become infected with Cove it because, for example, we disproportionately are the essential employees who work in long term care facilities or grocery stores, and we drive the trains and Busses and can't work from home. And then to make matters even worse, racial, ethnic minorities and American Indians in Alaska natives are more likely to have conditions that put us at an increased risk of severe illness if we get infected by covert, and so, in that case, we're talking about things such as chronic kidney disease and sickle cell disease and diabetes. Obesity just again, just to name a few. So there are a lot of factors that are in play here for the increased risk. TomKat Muniz of color, which makes you know opportunities like this so important because we really want to be sure that everyone has accurate information. About the Koven vaccine and the role that it plays in defeating the pandemic. I'm joined by Rear Admiral Doctor Felicia Collins, deputy assistant secretary for minority Health in the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services and director of the Office of Minority Health. What are some of the questions that you get the most when it comes to the vaccine? I think the question I get the most, um Across populations is how can it be ready so fast? Um, and I think unfortunately, the title operation works. He doesn't help that that perception that maybe this maybe this is occurring faster than it really should. And the truth is that the speed of the development of the current vaccines is really a reflection of the scientific advances over the last five plus years. That it really made, um, that have been made and technologies for vaccines and again In this case, some of these technologies were developed and Dr Fauci is lab didn't National Institutes of Health and so he describes it that processes that used to require years can now be accomplished in months. Another factor in the accelerated vaccine distribution process is the timing for actually producing actual vaccines for the public. An enormous amount of federal money was put into the production of vaccines. While clinical trials were still occurring, and so this is allowing back seem to be shipped within days of the vaccine being authorized by the FDA, So the speed of vaccine development reflects advances in the science of vaccine technology and financial investment. But are no way compromising the science and the scientific integrity of the process. I'm sure another question you get asked a lot is when we can get back to normal. What is your answer to that question? Yeah, He's been in this pandemic about 10 months now and and that's a long time It really really is, and I do want to encourage all of us to hang in there. Try to stay patient keep up those prevention measures, which are really foundational. Even though vaccine is starting to roll out, we have to wash your hands frequently, and we have to wear Mask, covering our nose and mouth and watch our distance and really avoid gatherings with those outside of our household whenever possible. All of that is so important to Increase our risk of becoming infected and a decrease the spread of this virus within our families and communities and neighborhoods. Vaccination is ramping up across the nation to again. That is great news, um, and their projections. But I have to get the caveat that the projections they're just that they're projections. But those involved in the vaccine distribution process project that sometime in the April May June time period, we should begin to see vaccinations in the general population. And once that occurs, CDC and others will be able to project further out when this pandemic is expected to be truly over. So in my mind, I think about this like running a marathon. It's not a sprint. It's a marathon. Bond, So we can't let up now, and we have toe continue running through the end, but But by working together, I think we can all cross the finish line. And if you will, my job and that of others right now in this current lap of the race. Just to sure that everyone has acted information about the vaccine because we really want people to have confidence and assurance and getting the vaccine once it's available to them. "The government was able to approve it in record time without cutting back on the integrity and then once people who are ready to go Get vaccine and are able to get it. Then we're gonna have that that chunk of the population that I called the movable middle who are questioning whether they want to have that get vaccinated or not, and again, our our goal with this particular public education campaign. Is provide folks with information that Builds vaccine confidence. Helps them move from the questioning Whether I will get vaccinated into the yes, I will get vaccinated category and then once they Get to that point, you know the supply is available and accessible for them. I'm joined by Mark Webber, Deputy Assistant Secretary for public affairs and human services in the office of the assistant secretary for public affairs. The Department of Health and Human Services. I'm sure that the Internet and social media can be very helpful in HHS getting out the correct information about these covert 19 vaccines, but You also know there's a lot of misinformation floating around on social media and online as well talk a little bit about that battle that you're fighting right now. That is a challenge. Absolutely so and there are a number of things that we can anticipate coming down the road. This is this is part of our strategy. In terms of the social media, we read a little bit of allergic reactions about You know, with vaccine and that gets spread on social media. And then now people have ah, another reason why they think they aren't going to get vaccinated. But But what were we will be doing is we're already working on information and messages as misinformation spread. We will be able to counter that or provide factual information that people can look up and then you know, make decisions for themselves. That's vitally important thing I want to say it's like We wanted people to have actual information so they can make decisions for themselves. And there's a term is called media literacy, so to really diving in, look at the sources of the information you are using to make these decisions and that will again. That's part of the Countermeasures. To help people get information that is accurate, is well documented and well sourced. And in addition to the social media component of this, you know it's not only that messages are credible, but messengers need to be credible. So there's a large segment. Of the population right now, who are questioning the vaccine who don't trust the government? So we have to provide information to you know, I would say local Individuals, friends, families that faith communities and, you know, even looking at like Head Start program, So it's like, how do we help folks who Individuals look to and trust on me. I can't forget the medical community. They're already rolled out some information with working with the medical community. But how do we get them information so that When their patients or when parents come into a program or when a congregation has questions that they, too have information available to them at their fingertips, so that so they can have informed conversations with that individual. Was questioning whether they get vaccinated or not right? And, yeah, a great resource you know, literally, is that the Centers for Disease Control website. Um, you know, there's information there for faith leader. There's.

"Thank you so much for taking a few minutes to talk to us, and before we get to the latest on the pandemic, tell us about the work you do in the office of Minority Health. So Hello, Ryan. It really is a pleasure to be with you and your listeners today. Um, again, I am the director of the Ox to minority health. And in a nutshell, What we're responsible for doing is helping to reduce Differences and health outcomes known its health disparities racial and ethnic minority communities. And so our office works in partnership with other federal agencies. Eight groups, advocacy group media organizations in order to accomplish that goal, and then in the context of coded, we are particularly involved in work in partnership with groups such as the National Institutes of Health, and I H Where You Know Dr Fauci works and is a household name at this point. Centers for Disease Control prevention, CDC and the Food and Drug Administration. FDA Just to name a few. And on that note, can you give us an update on where the country is that in our response to the pandemic, we've certainly seen Quite an increase in cases, hospitalizations and deaths following the holidays, So you're absolutely right. The numbers of infection across the nation remain at a high level and it is really concerning from after the recent holidays we have seen and continue to see increases. The number of cases and there was a possible is a shins and death so that the CDC reports we are well over the 20 million mark nationwide on by numbers of deaths are likewise increasing. It's actually chilling in some ways when we hear someone like Dr Fauci, who has been involved in infectious disease outbreaks for 40 years, say that this is the worst thing he has ever seen in his career. But I do want to say that despite those numbers I'm really encouraged by the fact that if we now have two vaccines that are available, and now state and local governments are executing their vaccination plans shot to going into arms across the nation, which is really, really important. Um And so we're at a point where the federal, the state, the local government, health care providers, community based organizations, advocacy media like yourself, We are all working together to get the word out about covert vaccination and to answer any questions. And concerns that exist so it's really important that we are all ready to receive that vaccine when it becomes available tough. And if we just look at the data, the data show us that African Americans, Latinos and American Indians, Alaska natives at a national level or more likely to test positive for Cove, it's more likely to be hospitalized and more likely to die. Compared to non Hispanic whites. And while Cove it indeed has revealed or really shined a bright light on racial ethnic disparities in the U. S. These disparities that we're seeing, unfortunately, are really the same as existed before Covad 19, so their differences in these covert health outcomes or health disparities as we call it, and and they reflect conditions that we live in which the public health term for that is social determinants of health and social determinants of health include whether we have access to health care and whether we have quality health care. There are a number of other elements that are also included in social determinants of health. They include things like our housing in the transportation we use and access to education and job opportunities just to name a few. So if we apply this social determinants of health concept to cove in communities of color more likely to become infected with coed because, for example, we disproportionately Are the essential employees who worked in long term care facilities or grocery stores, and we drive the trains and Busses and can't work from home. S. Department of Health and Human Services and director of the Office of Minority Help. Take a Look at the Cova 19 vaccines for a moment we know in this country. There are vaccine skeptics in all circles. But with your focus on minority health. Can you speak to some of the reservations minority communities have about vaccines? Why there? So much skepticism in those communities and why, with these covert 19 vaccines, they should be reassured that they're safe and effective. So you're again. You're right. There's backs their vaccine. Hesitancy as we call it. Um, in different populations across the nation, But, um Particularly. We're seeing it within communities of color, and it's grounded in from past history that has produced distrust of Medical research community and the federal government. I mean, your listeners may have heard of the Tuskegee syphilis experiment in which you know the federal government studied the effects of untreated syphilis. An African American men without their informed consent for 40 years, and that included not offering them the standard treatment when the standard treatment became available. And then their examples, um within the Latino community in which there was a government led effort to sterilize women in Puerto Rico without their knowledge that the procedure was irreversible. So, um Today. Fortunately, we're in a place where there are improvements and research standards and regulations and safeguards in place to prevent things like this from happening, But the distressed from the past is still very deep. And while they're absolutely valid concerns based on this past experience What I want everyone to be in a place is no that currently I want everyone to have accurate information about what's currently happening so that they can make an informed decision about getting vaccinated. What are some of the questions that you get the most when it comes to the vaccine? I think the question I get the most, um Across populations is how can it be ready so fast? Um, and I think unfortunately, the title operation works. It doesn't help that that perception that maybe this maybe this is occurring faster than it really should. And the truth is that the speed of the development of the current vaccine is really a reflection of the scientific advances over the last five plus years. "We need to talk about the fact that there's a whole bunch of people now two people in Trump's Cabinet Betsy DeVos and Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, who is, of course, Mitch McConnell's wife, who have announced they're stepping down from their positions right now, because they just can't deal with what happened on Wednesday. They blame Trump. Specifically for it. For example, Chow said yesterday, our country experienced a traumatic and entirely avoidable event of supporters of the president stormed the capital building following a rally he addressed as I'm sure is the case with many of you is deeply troubled me in a way, I simply cannot set aside so Divorce chow and then a whole bunch of other people, not in the Cabinet but part of the Trump administration. Also resigned within the last 48 hours. Stephanie Grisham, who was Melania's chief of staff, Deputy Press secretary, Sarah Mathews, Deputy national security advisor. Matt Pottenger, deputy assistant secretary of Commerce for intelligence and security. Rick Costello, social secretary. Mick Mulvaney. Um, there's all kinds of people. I mean, the list goes on and on and on for some time, but I just wanna make sure again hearing properly. So they served with this guy who's been the exact same guy? Yeah. 43 years of four years, minus 12 days and then 12 days before, when nothing's changed about who this guy is other than he's now officially lost the election. Well, I just can't tolerate this guy anymore and I'm out. I am morally. My moral conscience won't allow me to serve with such a horrible man now that of course he's lost. It's the bigger question is How will our nation carry on without Elaine Chao? Oh, you know, there was there was a famous line in during the Vietnam era. When when, when Johnson made the decision not to run again because Cronkite turned on him. When you lost Cronkite, you'd lost the nation. I feel the same way today. It is just stunning. Tow. Watch these crimes so angry at these clowns for basically saying by not not just because of resigning and having to and and making these ridiculous statements about how disappointed in deeply troubled and whatever else they're saying as their reason for leaving this horrible man's administration. It's also I mean they can suck it because they are also preventing an orderly transition. Sure. And so they couldn't hold on for 12 more days. And then, however long a transition process takes. This is insane. The crazy thing is when you're in that position of secretary. First of all these people and I get to say this because I've been shocked about four years are elitist their establishment Republicans. I was shouting when Trump picked them. You remember in many for the most part we were working together. I know who these people are. They don't give a damn about the country. They don't give a damn about the people they on Lee care about themselves. This isn't some moral outrage. They knew who Trump was. When they went to work for him. They went to work for him because it was good for them, and they're getting out now because it's good for them. And they're abandoning, not trump. He doesn't care. They're abandoning the American people and that it's such posturing and so for any of them, who actually believe that people on the right people who supported this? The Republicans who supported Trump if they think that we're going to sit back and be like, Wow, that's so noble. Soak proud of them for taking a stand. No, we see right through you. We see exactly what you're doing. And it makes you look 10 billion times worse than Trump has ever dreamed of looking and a weird way, though. I'm not sure they care because I think it comes back to there isn't there's not two parties. There's one party. There's marginal differences in power between the two There is now us or there always has been, but it's now very clear. There's us and there's them and they hate you. And they're probably trying. I mean, they're probably posturing and positioning themselves. You know, to get their CNN contributor ships and they want to make good with the new people in power, so maybe they can get in their good graces. This is the most disgusting display. And and they I don't think they realize it. I've talked about this for years because I saw it at a local level and and and that's a fraction. I'm sure what goes on in Washington, the grossness of the circular way in which these politicians and an appointed bureaucrats just move in a in a swamp swamp. So right where to stew of different ways to make money off the American or in this case, the Indiana taxpayer I used to see this all the time. I'm ask yourself. Why did Brian Bosnia resign his seat early? The most powerful man in Indiana government who announced he was gonna run again resigned months earlier. He was getting paid not to work, right? He was getting paid for the next basically, 45 months not to work. Why did he resign early? Where did he go? What is he going to do? What is he doing now? The answer. That question happens on a huge scale. We're talking millions of dollars here. We're talking billions and trillions of dollars in Washington D c. These people are a leeches. They suck the blood out of everything they confined. And in this case, the blood is your tax money. The amount of loathing I have for that entire group of clowns right now cannot be overstated. I'm just so irritated by these resignations. It's just it's such a show. You know what I mean? What they genuinely believe mock that people are stupid enough or the conservatives will given as they always do. And in two years we'll be right back to supporting these people because they feel they have no other choice. They they believe that and you have the option now to decide whether you're going to go along with that. It is, is being so afraid of Democrats once again going to see you kneel at the altar of Republican Party politics. People who hate you Or will you say enough's enough? I mean it Z. I am desperately hoping for people to step up that actually don't care that don't get beholden to these outside interests that actually care that there that they somehow with, you know, with our help with the people's help. Raise enough money, get enough exposure to actually get on the ballots and make a difference and inspire people to vote again because and not necessarily for Republicans, but for a brand new Whatever, because seriously enough is enough. I don't know how much proof we need, and that's where the power of trump like I told people that's when I decided to not run for re election again. Of course, some of the people who hated me were so excited and I said You better hold on, because now I can say what I really wants. And now I can do whatever I want. I was restrained when I was in elected office, and I look so forward to that with Trump because he's got all this name recognition all these loyal followers he can raise all of this money and do and say whatever the hell he wants, And I hope he torches the Republican Party establishment wing right to the ground. I think he probably will. I mean, I can't imagine that he's just gonna be like bye and going all thing. It's just not him. I said this from the Getting and I never knew I'd mean it like this. But Donald Trump is the President America deserved and the president I always dreamed of, And now he's going to make another dream of mine come true, which is to see the Republican Party burned to the ground. Yes, Let me ask you how you feel about Biden's choice of Judge Merrick Garland to be a G It's the same thing right? It's the circular stew, and Garland is just another guy in the stew. He wasn't picked because he was a brilliant legal mind. He was picked by Obama for the Supreme Court because he believed he was passable enough. He was establishment he enough. He was un offensive enough. He's of leftist, but there's no track record of him doing anything. So we'll throw him out there and see what happens. It's the same thing over here. Point right is that he didn't have to pick somebody that safe. Joe Biden right now, But you know, he it is an act. Biden is an act. Right Biting is doing all the left the stuff, But it's the packaging on policy. Donald Trump was a way bigger friend of the Democrats. That then certainly like George Bush would was. It's the packaging the policy doesn't matter. The media is not going to focus on the policy garlands left us. He's going to do 90% of the stuff that anybody else would. He's just package nicer and people will accept him go. Well. He was nominated for the Supreme Court. How bad could it be? But my point is, why wouldn't Joe just go total radical?.

"deputy assistant secretary" Discussed on WMAL 630AM

"With another video statement last night, a good video statement and naturally is being attacked for the video seven, which is a good and sound and thoughtful in the right words were used inside. Um, I would say, as opposed to the statement from day before yesterday, which was lackluster. We'll just call it lackluster day before yesterday but yesterday came out with a statement would probably would have been better if it had been issued day before yesterday in place of the one that was issued day before yesterday. But but never mind that because he's still being attacked at Bare minimum. Even his friends they're saying too little too late. And by the way, there have been a significant number now of resignations from the from the Trump Administration, not the White House proper necessarily, but from the administration. And we've got Mick Mulvaney, who was, you know close actually counted on special envoy Northern Ireland. At this point, he resigned. Stephanie Grisham, chief of staff to the first lady resigned, met Pottenger, the deputy national security advisor. Some of these, it already resigned while we're on the air yesterday, Um Sara Matthews, Deputy Press secretary resigned. Uh, Ricky Nikita, is it Nikita? I'm gonna go with that has resigned. Might be Nikita. White House Social secretary resigned John Costello, and this is apparently all over the president's conduct of the events on Wednesday. But I'd like to hear from them each individually. The timing certainly would suggest that that is the there's a cause and effect going on here. John Costello, the Commerce Department, the deputy assistant secretary for intelligence and security, he submitted his resignation. Ryan Kelly, who NSC senior director. For European and Russian affairs. He resigned. Betsy DeVos, the edge education secretary, has resigned. She's an interesting woman and her brother is Erik Prince, and I'm right about that. I think that's right. Erik Prince of Blackwater and Z Systems and all that stuff, Great American Patriot and Elaine Chao Elaine Chao, the secretary of the Department of Transportation, has resigned. Also. And I haven't seen a lot of like letters. I'm resigning in protest because of this, But it's being taken that way in. The timing would suggest that that is, in fact, the cost Elaine showers, of course. Also anybody The wife of Senator Mitch McConnell, who is for the moment, at least the majority leader in the United States Senate. And, of course you know the story. You know that this ridiculous story about the Democrats. Dave labeled Mitch McConnell cocaine. Mitch, You're familiar with this right? Cocaine, Mitch and you know, But you know why the cocaine Mitch label, you know, you remember this story, Michael. Michael remembers the story because he's got a memory. Unlike anybody in the news media, you should run a major news organization. Actually, Michael, you should be CEO of shakes his head. I don't think so. See, Elaine Chao is she comes from a very wealthy family. Her father is a very successful businessman. Chinese And, um, any owns, among other things he owns controls many businesses entities. One of them is a global shipping conglomerate. Elaine Chao's father. And as the man who runs this global shipping conglomerate. As you might imagine the ships go around the globe and 11 of the ships. One of the ships was found leaving. Where was it? A port in in South America was on the northern border of South American. I can't remember which port it was, but a lot of cocaine comes out of there. And one ship that inspectors law enforcement went aboard the ship to inspect the ship. And they found that aboard the ship. There was a a container with cocaine that was being smuggled out of the country, and they intercepted that shipment of cocaine and then you know I don't think they arrested anybody. But they took the cocaine. They seize the cocaine. So the left I saw this summer, the Democrats and the media, but I repeat myself. They saw that. That's okay. So wait a minute. What's the connection here? Um, Mr Chow. Welcome, Mr Chow. Because I don't I don't know is his actual name. He He owns a company and they have a lot of ships. And on one of the ships coming out of South America's Somebody tried to smuggle cocaine and his daughter is married to Mitch McConnell. So Mitch McConnell is cocaine. Mitch, right? That's the connection that we have her and that's the kind of stuff that they do on MSNBC. And I'm sure it's been said on CNN and they all laugh up there corrupt, ignorant little sleeves and and pretend that they're doing journalism or something like that. It's pretty amazing, but that's the thing that's the thing with them. Christ. Everyone knows that. In reality. He's just the turtle. Everybody knows that. And I believe it that there is all right. So let's go to Chuck. Because the lane shot she she resigned in all that stuff. Um Now the president and again for people that are joining him. We have no phones We have. It's no lines Friday, no lines Friday because we had no lines to call into because her entire phone system is broke. She is a bit out. She's a broke Now the president, United States and the president's speech last night was What was that about a minute and a half long about a minute and a half? Was it Was it longer than that? Wasn't that one was about two minutes. Okay was about two minutes long and and I can't actually play it all for you comfortably right now, with the clock being what it is, but I could if we went to break early, So why don't we do that and I'm gonna play for you what.

His former cybersecurity company was hired by the democratic national committee. When it's emails were hacked in two thousand sixteen which the fbi later attributed to russia when the update came down it basically was a master key for the russians to get access to every single one of these systems. Alperovitch says calling it a heck of a decade and one of the most significant cyber espionage operations in history though it apparently did not penetrate classified systems he says citing conversations with industry insiders. The fbi is leading an investigation to track the hackers while cease which became a household name this year after disputing trump's allegations of election fraud resulting in trump's firing. Its director is sending out new warnings on what they've found and how government and private companies should respond to fix it. The spying attack was first discovered by cybersecurity. They want a copy within the system. They've targeted so they can download it in a way. That won't arouse copying the data a few kilobytes at a time. So there may be packets of information that they've marked to move that are still untouched. And the race is on to cut the hackers off and then rebuild. It can't just go in and kind of surgically remove the adversary spalding. Explains you have to rebuild a completely new infrastructure that isn't connected to the old infrastructure though. The operatives were still active while americans were voting in the presidential election. This fall spalding.
