"I think if you did, Brown So you got digs at 1 60. Let's say right, Let's say Beasley's at around it off 100. Davis Sanders, like what's the fourth guy getting in terms of targets? And maybe this factors in the years to write is the fourth guy getting a couple targets a game? Is it possible? Both Sanders and Davis are going to be 56 targets a game. Would you have that many passes? We did have a couple guys over 100. Then Davidson Sanders would still be getting Five targets a game. That's 80 in a season. If you're playing every game, that's a lot. Sanders had 82 last year. Emmanuel Sanders. So is he going to have 80 here and is Dave is going to go up and have 80. That's four receivers getting 100 to 60 like 420 targets just from four receivers. Yeah, that's a lot. It's funny to think about the bills offense like Man. Why would they? How are they ever going to run the ball? We know they want to run the ball more efficiently, but not necessarily more often. Correct, Right? So that's remember that right? You just hit it. See, I think. Sorry to interrupt you, but I think Too many times. You know, people heard the bills talk about running running the ball, and I think you equated some people equated with they're going to run it more often. They never said that. They just said. When they run the ball, be better at it. That doesn't mean we want more balance. I don't think the bills ever said are run past ratio has to be closer. We need to run more to get closed. No, they didn't say that. They're still going to throw the football. Maybe it's 60 40, but the 40% when they run the ball, they like to have more productivity. In those 40% run calls, that's all they said. They don't They should not be striving for a 50 50 balance in their play call selection. Right, That's nuts. I think the target your discussion was really interesting because it and how do you fit tight ends in the backs in the passing game, Right and the backs right? Who's the Who's the lead back? Somebody asked me yesterday. Who is their number one back, is it Singletary? Is it? Is it mosque Yesterday, Zack Moss posted a workout video, which means Singletary in Moss are now both at one. You know, check out my work in the offseason. Singletary talk to Tyler done it go along td dot com and you know, you got to see that he's really motivated to kind of show what he can do Moss last year, you forget that Moss wasn't available in the A F. C championship. I do that he was wasn't available the F C championship game for but because of the ankle injury So you know they were banged up. Go into that that NFC championship game. It doesn't explain all the problems they had offensively but between Beasley and digs Moss and Brown and Moss mean all there. There are real pieces, you know. Not 100% you're going to. It's it's. Hopefully they stay healthy. That's that's one of the parts of the answer to can the receivers be better than last year? I think the answer is yes, they can, And if they're healthy, there's there's good reason to think the receivers can be even better. As long as Diggs is out there, everybody else's job is a lot easier, right? I mean, he commands so much attention. You can't cover them in man coverage one on one, you just can't so You know? Will be fun to watch this often There's no doubt about I can't wait to watch this offense. Cook can't wait to do it at the stadium with fans last year's offense You know, it's just still have the feeling of what's it going to be like to watch a bills? Offense? Just roll teams right to be at a game where they put up tons of points and Win going away or whatever the games will be parties. Yeah, we've gone from whatever the drought was for Bills quarterback sent out 300 yard passing games to now expecting a 300 yard passing game as part of a win not garbage yards in a loss, but as a driving factor in them, winning the game, Josh Allen coming out and throwing for 300, plus yards and and again. I thought John Brown was a great pick up for this franchise. I really did. But I think if you look at the depth of the core, you really don't You lose a little bit of speed, I guess from John Brown. But you know you Adam Davis, now on a regular basis with Sanders and Beasley and digs, and we're still talking about to pick your poison element to the bills passing offense that will be very difficult for teams. That aren't deep in their secondary to deal with. You know, maybe you have Jalen Ramsey. You know, maybe you have a guy who you feel confident in your taking digs, and then we'll figure out what to do with the rest of these guys. But the rest of these guys are not exactly chopped liver. You've You've got to have your second cornerback, your slot cornerback or whoever's lining up against be easily in the slot. Your line backwards and coverage. You've got to have depth. On your defense in your back seven. Your safety is helping out. You know, That's the nice thing. Nothing's changed from that standpoint, last year was okay got to figure out how to stop digs. And even if you do, look at all the other guys, nothing's changed with that, And that's a nice thing. And Davis in year two should be even better than year one, and it's It's a credit to the way they've kind of built this team. You know you talk about when they signed Brown when they got brown and beastly. The two of them were added on the same day to Star Free Agency. And for both. It was like, OK, these guys can play in the league. Neither one of them is really a star. But you know, if they're available, you can get them an opportunity that could work for you. And I think both signings worked out really Well, you know, John Brown was only brought down by injuries, and Beasley has been a very effective receiver, receiver for them. For two straight years of 100 plus targets, So maybe you can't go out and get the Stefon Diggs right away. But in the meantime, you're going to get guys that can do the job. Then they trade for digs. Then they add two receivers through the draft, and Davis and Isaiah Hodgins and all of a sudden you go from receiver corps that Let's be honest. When they got here. They probably had the worst receiver group in the league, and they built it into one of the strongest and they did it every which way They did it with free agency. The draft and traits all three. So you know, you could say you build the team through the draft. Sure you build part of it through the draft. If there are two positions that they've spent a lot of capital on, you might. I mean there's a lot? Of course, the quarterback they trade up for the draft, two running backs. But I'm kind of inclined to compare defensive line and wide receiver where they've kind of overhauled it and spent a lot at the position to try and get as good as they can there, and we've definitely seen the results from from the receivers. And you would hope that maybe this year with the defensive line with star returning and the two rookies they brought in a defensive end that maybe you start to get some big time benefits there as well. If if every now and then you would like to give yourself a good laugh your golfing buddy, Marcel Louis, Jacques As a piece up at ESPN dot com about the risk. Would you just talked about about the receiving corps and how it's changed over the years from the first year of McDermott and being and to where it is, now is I mean that's I'm saying. If you want a good laugh day, John go back and look at who was on the roster that year. It's not even Robert Foster at that point, right? He's not on the team. Z. Joan Kelvin Benjamin would would have come. Do you come in That season was mid season trade so before before benches, just like Deonte Thompson. And Kailyn Clay. And I'm trying to think of one of the times, Tyrod said. We really feel good about the you know our deep threats. It was Kaylin Clay and somebody else just It was Ray Ray McCloud. You're pulling up the receivers from that year? Yeah. So the the year the bills break the drought. Oh, boy. Right. Hang on one second. This is not that long ago. Right? 2017 lead the team in receptions would have been had to be And this is just receivers not like backs and tight ends and everything. Just receiver Sammy was Jordan Matthews because they traded Sammy that first year and got Jordan Matthews, right. You got Deonte Thompson. Very good. Yeah. Uh, you got Kaylin Clay. Very good. Although I think what I'll hang on. Let's see Who else is a Jones? Yep. Uh, Jordan. We've got Jordan Matthews. Yeah, Yeah. Oh, you did mention I'm sorry. I was looking it up and we mentioned Calvin Benjamin Andre Holmes was here. Andre Home. Brandon Tate was here. Tate and Clay. Those are the two that, Tyrod said..

Josh Allen Kailyn Clay Marcel Louis Jalen Ramsey Deonte Thompson Isaiah Hodgins Tyler Adam Davis Robert Foster Jordan Matthews Tyrod Jordan Davis 300 Sanders Emmanuel Sanders Zack Moss 300 yard John 40%

"Plus. Yeah, I don't have the answer. I thought I did. Former bills. We saw this story brain. Do you know it? By the way, former bills you got to let me give it back. Sometimes people tune out. I was a commercial break. I wasn't going to have them. Answer it. I just was curious if he knew it. So go ahead. But people don't know what they know what they're guess. Can I give the good question again? No. They have to listen all morning long. This is why you're supposed to listen for you know what You're right. Right? You're right. The heck with them. If you're not in for four hours, we're not going to make it up for you, which former Bills receiver is attending tight end university, hoping to restart a career While not being named Kelvin Benjamin, because that's an obvious guest. I think he was also trying. It's not Calvin Ben. That's the guy who was thinking of your right. The Calvin Benjamin Story was fairly recently, right, Wasn't it? The Giants or somebody was At a camp and trying out his tight end. It's been, yes, That's what that's what he's thinking. I know I know. You said it's not him, but that's the guy that was in my head. So I would just be guessing random receivers at this point. I mean, I'm down Z Jones. Is he still in the league? No Nazi Jones. Former bills receiver former time I'm laughing because I was going to say Charles Clay that he was No, he's playing lacrosse. He's in the premier Premier Lacrosse league, I think isn't playing the cross street. He plays. Lacrosse. Yeah, you didn't know that. Yeah. Now he doesn't wear his wedding ring when he plays across that somebody else playing football. Me see this bills receiver. Was on the team that broke the Route. Did he stay the whole year? Deonte Thompson? No. The Bills Drought year he played played and started and he started in seven games. This has had 25 catches one touchdown. Carol Prior was Robert Foster here. At that point, his career came here and died. Okay, so he had been in the league came here and then he had been with one team for three years had had Close to 1000 yards in a season 8 72 9 97 8 Oh, four receptions of 67 85 73 was 24 years old came here. 25. Career. Oh, I got this. Jordan Matthews, Jordan, Man. I forgot all about him. Yep. Jordan Matthews So he's trying to go to tight end. He's not trying. He is at tight end university. Quote. If you have the opportunity to be around the best, you always take it. Um, just that energy. These guys that are all gunning for the top spot. You can feel that. Yeah. Dawson Knox is or was or is. I forget it was held this past weekend. Maybe doesn't know is that tight End university? Yep. So that is my old man at the cloud moment. Man. You're just too young to be going there, But okay, sure. I like the company. Tight end university. Yeah, this is you shaking hands in Little league. Really? Why Really? You're kidding me. Really? Why? Well, they, um, Von Miller does the same thing with pass rushers, Okay? Why to impart knowledge on young players around the league to help them succeed in the in the league. Why Because tight ends are a close knit community and they want to see others thrive. Why Because they're good human beings. Okay, so the Niners and the Chiefs are playing in a very important game, and I figured it out. I got another go ahead, say why? Why? Because if the best tight ends make other tight ends better, everybody's tight end salaries go up down the road. Sure whatever. So here. Welcome to Super Bowl 50 57, It's Chiefs and Niners and Here's kettle over the middle. He shakes his guy losing catches the game winning touchdown. Wow. What a move! Mr Kettle. How'd you do that? Travis? Kelsey taught me that. What? What are you doing? Why are you like the Chiefs? Right? Hey, what's what's a weak spot on the bills roster, you know, might be tight end. It might be tight end. Hey, You know what? I'm going to do me? Travis? Kelsey, I'm going to make sure Dawson Knox gets better. Why? What are you doing? Again. Like I said, it's an old man moment. But my first thought is like Of course they should do this. I don't actually have a problem. You're so cute. I know That's why I'm wondering why you're like I'm not quite playing devil's advocate. But it did flop flash in my head like Careful, buddy. Yeah. Should Josh Allen host of passing camp with Zach Wilson? No, no, no. No. What do you do Get get away from him. But don't you dare teach you anything you figured out, Okay, but you're also talking now There's a difference. Obviously, when you're talking about quarterback versus the tight end, I'm not sure about competition. Know that Dawson Knox walks away from that camp and all of a sudden the conference swings to the bill's fate, Train devious white bring in young dolphins corners and give them a camp. Well, you should never talk to anybody in your own division. First off, you never help. Some In your own division Now. I don't know if should someone come on radio? Is that the tight end university? I'm not fun digs like Hey, Jaylen. Waddle. Come on over. I'll teach you everything I know. No, no, no, no, no. Oh, see all of a sudden, you know, like You never help anybody. Your division. All right. So George Kittle should not help. I don't know. Did the Rams or whoever did Arizona Young tied? Never help anybody in your division? Not in the division. That's fine. For sure. Um, keep going. I like this stuff seriously, though. Yeah. You know what Should the bills help? Let's see. Uh hey, Baker. Baker Mayfield. Come on. Come on to Josh is passing. You know, on the division. Howard says it's okay. No, no, no, no. Also, quarterbacks doesn't matter. What division that position. You never help anybody at that position. Okay. All right. Well, it is the most important position in the league. You don't help anybody at quarterback. Okay? So not in the division, right? No quarter quarterback. Alright. Who else do I need on the list? Let me introduce you to, uh, safety Camp and Jordan Player and Micah Hyde are going to host all a FC opponents outside the division. Get all their safety, Okay? No, no, no, no, no, no, them everything They know nobody on your schedule that year. All right. Am I doing OK with this so far? You know what? I don't have an answer for that. You're You've done it, okay? Yeah, I don't know. Why would they do it? I You know, I guess that's just a I don't like I said Von Miller has been doing the pass rush camp for a little while. I think that's not new. In fact, was it epithets? I think was that his camp last year or the year now? It could have been a year before it was. It was a zoom call. That's what they couldn't do it last last off season because of Covid. So they did, like, uh, resume school. If you will, for pass rushers and epinephrine, A was invited and he was in on that call. Remember him talking about that? Yeah. Yeah, I don't. Why do they do it for the good of the league? I don't know. That's that's a really good question. I don't have a problem with it, by the way, except, yeah, There's no way Josh is helping Zach Wilson or Tua or or Mac Jones. Nobody. No, Baker. You don't let your quarterback help anybody at that position. Sorry. That's where I draw the line. All right, Um, quick thing TMZ tweets us out. I don't know if this was over the weekend, Bruce Smith said this somewhere, but whatever it was, Bruce Smith says, there were gay players in the nineties bills teams and it didn't matter to us. Good. I just retweeted the story at, uh From TMZ is where that was reported. He says he is supports Carl Nassib the Raiders, of course, and that the 90 bills, he says, quote we had a gay player in our locker room. I think it was the mid to late nineties and I think we might have had to. But that wasn't what we were focused on. We're done. Instigators. Next talk tomorrow..

"But in 2020, they came out and just upped the ante on all of it. With digs at it in You don't go get digs to get open deep. You get digs to do the rest of it and get open deep like he's just the communities apart. Perfectly complete, excellent receiver I just continue to ask that question. I need more before I can just sort of put all my faith in them. I just last year was so good. How did it happen one of these days. When I feel like it's safe to do it. I'm going to share with you. Just a short exchange I had with the head coach. That I tell my closest friends about That is like so part. It's so much what's on my mind about this. That you don't know about, but it's like, how did this happen? I mean, I love it. I mean, you can't take away the the success McDermott has had even in that. First year. I don't. I mean, I think it's almost all luck. But at first year to make the playoffs with the team they had it did happen. They did break the drought with that team, so you can't take any credit away from him. But how that happened last year. I still just don't know. I don't know how they got there. Here is Larry with us. Hi, Larry. Larry Yeah. Hi. Go ahead. Oh, yeah. So I was just calling. You were saying about how you know what was it that made the bill change their often and the answer is that that's what the league is. Today. It's a quarterback driven league. You either have a Super Bowl. Level, talented quarterback or you don't. And the only way they were going to find that out with Ellen was to give the ball, put it in his hands and they go throw it. You see what happened because you know it's working contract. You got the third. It was his third year. And then you got to know. Are we going to extend them? What are we going to do? Right? Right. So you know that was that was the year that they just said. This is what we got to do. And neither the guy's going to be an NFL elite level quarterback. Or he's not. That means we're going to probably be drafted a quarterback sometime soon, and that's all excellent, right. I mean, that's exactly that's what you would do. That's why this makes sense to you this way. That's why I mean every game. If you don't, there's only 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL. If you don't think the guy that you happy when you were Super Bowl, you gotta go get another one. Yeah. Bottom line. Good job, Larry. I think you might be 100% right here. Getting connected with our fans brought to you by Bon Shinnick and King. A full service buffalo law firm. Joe, I think that might be 100%, right? That it was It was more than anything else. Organizational strategy. Let's see if we can win big. With Josh Allen. And if we can't, then we do the next thing, But this is how you find out. You don't find out with game plans like they had in 2018. And they fixed the fixed up that personnel as well. That's part of the same thing. You're signing guys to augment your offense and to test that further. Which is, you know, also improving your team at the same time. You're doing both things. You're improving your team, but you're also, like all right, we're going to really be able to tell here honestly. What he can do for us, and there were I mean, there were good signs. You did win 10 games. There were good signs in 2019 his running Mean, that is that is just another great part of the story on Allen that Even in 18 like he he ran for 17 touchdowns combined those first two years. It wasn't to me, though, right? It was the running, but The other thing I want to point out here is like they didn't just change in terms of like how often they were passing. But like what version of it because when they first got here who were the receivers they brought in? It was Kelvin Benjamin and Andre Homes in Jordan. Matthews like Just the guys with big names, but nobody that I would consider to be a great separator by any means nobody with any real type of speed, and then Allen's rookie year that started to change. Hang on. Hang on, Joe. Sorry, but Those are all Tyrod Taylor. They're all Tyra to Benjamin crosses over into Alan. But that's the tailor team were. Those additions were made. Watkins is traded. Matthews is acquired Benjamin mid season is traded dragging size, Yes, but like there isn't that change over until the mid point of Allen's rookie year. When they bring in Isaiah McKenzie, and they bring back Deonte Thompson like they start bringing back in guys with speed, and then the off season. It's John Brown and cold easily. And then it's Stefon Diggs, and to me like there was a There was a mindset shift at some point that this style of wide receiver does not work. This style of wide receiver does, and that's what we're going to go for, and to me that has played and do Large portion of how efficient they're passing offenses. Also, after the last couple of years. Yeah, I like it. Well, that that is an excellent strategy like you. You sort of try to Wind it back and then look at it. And then your mind goes well. Is that what you would do? You know? Is that smart if you like Larry The caller is saying, this is what I think happened as I told him. Yeah, because that's actually how you would do it. I mean, that makes sense to you and it's Mostly. I think most people would agree with a lot of what he said. But not everybody would, and that includes bills, coaches and even Sean McDermott. In the beginning who you just didn't think believe that at all? You know that? The quarterback. I don't know if that's exactly right. I mean, if you're Rex say. And Tyrod Taylor is your quarterback. You're not going to stand at a podium and say we have no chance. We have no chance to win a Super Bowl this way. I mean, you're not going to say that you might think it. I don't want to give him Credit. I not necessarily. I don't necessarily want to give him credit, though, for We're gonna We're gonna do it this way because of who we have. I mean, you get in there what McDermott has done that. I think I might give him more credit for than anything. What he has done is He stepped in and right away, even though they sort of slow played the first year to appoint only the Benjamin That's a mid season trade. You know, that was not a nothing deal or anything..

"And I think maybe the reason they don't is because there's kind of that. Hold that breath waiting for the shoe to drop with Ben Roethlisberger because maybe you just don't fully trust that We're going to get through 16 games going to be fine, but keeps going out there every week, and he keeps finding new weapons, and that makes it even harder from the game plan for if it's a chase Claypool here James Washington. They're Deonte Thompson here. I mean, it becomes almost impossible when he spreads the ball like that. And the one thing that you pointed to when you face Lamar Jackson. I know he gets out run on your fase Patrick Mahomes. So this yesterday with the Raiders Pass rush. And if the Steelers bring that pass rush that they have the might of the best pass rush in the FC Apple, the contenders That is the ultimate we compete you in your house type of team if you could get after the quarterback like that. And they were really robbed last year of a of a chance at a season because their quarterbacks were so bad. I mean, when you have to opt for duck Hodges when you're opting for duck freaking, Hodges You know you're no man's land. And last year their defense basically had a play way over its head just to keep them in games and win games. They ultimately fell short of the wild card. They were kind of robbed. And I think that maybe that locker room Mike Tomlin, you know, feel like last year was a lost season, and they demand a little payback that they finally now have. A chance to compete again. I think they're really, really good. And I think that the Steelers because you don't have the household names these days are getting overlooked, and I'm interested to get Sam Monson's take on the Steelers. Because I'm interested to see what the analytics say about them. That feels like a 12 and 14. To me that feels like a 12 and for Steelers team that's a real problem in January. Assuming we get to January Lady ages before you Thanksgiving night Steelers Ravens. That's right. That's the second one. Yes, that's right. That's the second match. Very, very tasty. I could just see you burp it After some trip to feign hanging back a little gravy boat on your stomach. I could see that enjoined little stealers and Ravens. That's always the sandwich game. Always the sandwich game. You have some fun with that. Are you being low energy? Because Danielle yelled at you again? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm not. I'm not trying to be low energy. I really I feel like I'm getting higher pitched. That is when my voice is someone is getting scratchy. So I'm just trying to do a little ebb and flow deal here. I'll bring the heat. But then we might little scratch so I don't want to scratch. Just bring it down. Your voice just cracked like you were 13 years old. It did it Did. I'm going to get a little honey in the next break. Honey, Honey, you know we're gonna be okay. Okay, We're gonna be okay, man. "Right. So the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday looked like one of the best teams in football. Here's how it sounded. He throws it down the field. All that is Chase Claypool. Pittsburgh Steelers touchdown wide open from 35. I know it. That's the strength of heaven. A deep group with guys that are capable of making plays, you know, weekend week out, there are gonna be different guys step up and in the sin, just based on the match of presenting a he had a good match up this week. How's Mike Tomlin? Of course, following the Steelers 38 29 victory over the Eagles that was Steelers radio on the call. I don't think we're giving the Steelers enough attention. I think the chief's get the attention for All the right reasons. They're great. They want a Superbowl Patrick Mahomes. I think the Ravens get a lot of attention because of their season last year, Lamar Jackson all of that. I think the Packers are getting a lot of attention understandably, so they look phenomenal. They look complete and Aaron Rodgers in a totally different level. The Pittsburgh Steelers air for No. And maybe because last week's game was postponed. That was the Titans game. But the Pittsburgh Steelers look every bit one of the best teams in football, and I know that beating the Eagles isn't any great shakes. I realized the NFC East is a disaster. But when you look up and down that Pittsburgh roster It is. It's just not a bunch of stars. It's a bunch of really good guys that contribute in their ways. And it is once again a reminder that the Steelers made draft better than any other organization in football. Because they can't lose guys like Levi in Bellin Antonio Brown, and they keep drafting and developing other good young players and yesterday You had A guy with name of Ray Ray McCloud, who ends up leading the team in Russia. Now, of course, he's not a running back that they're going to lean on. James Connor is but it just goes to show you that They have a lot of different players that can step into all types of different roles, and they can succeed. So James Connor and Benny Stellar now kind of your 12 punch of the back field. For them because you know they lose love Ian Bell, and they just kind of keep the wheel churning. Antonio Brown leaves you now drafting develop Chase Claypool, who had seven catches and 110 yards and three touchdowns yesterday as the Eagles consistently lost him in coverage. Juju Smith Schuster is in excellent target as well. James Washington comes up with big plays and big catches. They're expanding the offense. The running reverses in wide receiver options and They're just getting players into space to make plays, and their defense is legit, really legit. I don't know why the Steelers are not getting a Maura tension. I think maybe it's because they don't have the sexiness of Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes. And maybe because they're a little under the radar, considering you know they were 500 team last year. Our office burgers, aging getting up there, so he's no longer dynamic, But and maybe because they lead other defense a lot, and when you have a defensive leading team, you tend to get less attention. The Steelers are really good, and I think the Steelers against either the Ravens or the chief's is a really intriguing matchup in the A, F. C and I'll tell you. I don't think the Chiefs have been great this year, and I know it's easy to say after yesterday because they end up losing with Raiders. They've had some real clunky moments. I mean, almost the entire game against the Chargers was a rough one to watch. They probably deserved to lose that game. There any nip and tuck battle against the Patriots last Monday when they are superior to the Patriots. Now they had a couple of drives late. That kind of pushes them forward. But if the Patriots had Cam Newton became completely different So the Chiefs have not been the runaway freight train that maybe they looked like after last season. We kind of expected The Steelers have been every bit a legit contender in the A. F. C. And look at the Ravens might be better than the chief's. But the Chiefs have the Ravens number and I would predict that the Chiefs would solve them again in the postseason. But I think the Steelers the ultimate wild card here, I don't know what to expect for a team that has that much defense has a veteran quarterback and, you know, doesn't fear anybody. I could easily see the Steelers being a problem in eliminating either the Ravens or the Chiefs or both of them in NFC postseason. I could easily see it and we'll get our first taste of where the Steelers are against a really good team in the Browns next week, because right now the Steelers had beaten the Giants, the Broncos, the Texans of the Eagles. And those fourteens of real stick stink. That's these days, but you got the Steelers playing the Browns coming up next week. Eventually they'll get that Titans game and the Titans are good and they have at the Ravens November the first You know, that's where we're going to be starting to see exactly how good how great the Steelers Khun B. I got the Ravens twice in November is going to tell us a lot about about the Steelers, but I think they're legit. Morales and I think they deserve more attention than they get. Because the Ravens and the chief tend to get all of the A F. C. They absolutely deserve more attention. And I think maybe the reason they don't is because there's kind of that. They're Deonte Thompson here mean it becomes almost impossible when he spreads the ball like that. And the one thing that you pointed to when you face Lamar Jackson. I know he gets out wrong when you face Patrick Mahomes. So this yesterday with the Raiders Pass rush, and if the Steelers bring that pass rush that they had, they might have the best pass rush in the A. M. Seattle the contenders. That is the ultimate we compete you in your house type of team if you could get after the quarterback like that. They ultimately fell short of the wild card..

"See, Dennis hit it right on the head is that it's never been about safety because there's an at football even though I enjoy it. I love it. It's It's not going to be about that. I wouldn't be surprised if they started staggering it so that some teams playing on Tuesday and another is playing on, you know, they want to get through this thing at all costs, and I just I don't I don't think that player safety is in the top three or four things that they're worried about their worry about money than money and then money. And money and then maybe Playerssafety. They want to get through the season. Well, just about anything to do it. The thing that's sitting there is that the Super Bowl date is probably in their minds. Not movable, right? Right, So it's got everything. It's got to be done before that date, and you work from there so there may be some inequities. There may be a team that or seven multiple teams that doesn't play. A full schedule, and that's just, you know, going to be the reality of 2020. Let's talk about on the field, though, because I thought the Cowboys defense today just got absolutely decimated. Now the Browns have big time skill position talent. Odell Beckham's legit They added Hooper. They got better tackles. Cream hunt, You got Nick Chubb went out with an injury. The Browns put 49 points on the Cowboys and the Cowboys came roaring back. And I'm sure if your fantasy Faneuil loving Dad Prescott because he put up a kazillion yards, but Dallas does not have a championship caliber defense. So as far as I'm concerned, you could put a line through the Cowboys. I don't care where it goes from here. They're not a real contender in my mind. Dak Prescott. You know, he threw for what 500 yards at harmony to you, and he lost the football game. S so you know that, but the Cleveland I mean, I think Cleveland's going to be a bit because they don't have that winning mentality. I mean, even that they won the game. Yeah, but they gave up. You know, I think of the game. There's something like 20 points like Bam, bam! Bam! Just kind of I don't know They're in there, Utah Their victory defense, but you know they they almost, you know, even on the kickoff, you know, they almost let that kick off. You get recovered by by the Cowboys. So you know that you know, Dallas is Dallas. You know, it's it's They've got a lot of talent, and it just haven't seemed to put it together. So you know, I'm not a Dallas fan, so I'm happy today. Now, if the 40 Niners Khun Khun, go and do what they have to do today to be a good day. Maybe you're a year late on Cleveland. The three in 10 B. J had the two touch. Answer the area. The one the run that basically sealed at the end. That was a nice run that he had a 50 yarder. But as far as Dallas I agree with you, I mean, looked back crushing against Seattle. Offensively, there find Cooper City. Lamb had two touchdowns, his first, too, in his career. They've got it all offensively, but they've got injuries. Defensively. They're not getting to the quarterback out. The Alden Smith is, but outside of that nobody else's theyjust. They're injured in their linebacking corps. There Defensively, the think they remind me of Seattle in Seattle in Dallas for the same thing. We, Russ is a bit better in Tak. But But defensively, both of those teams are sorely lacking. Even 49 of the Browns. They were down 41 14 in this game. In a couple of things. I mean, Joe Burrow got his first win today through for 300 yards. You know, he definitely could. Teddy Bridgewater had a nice day. Cardinals lost in Carolina, You know, so you look around the league. It's like the Saints. Are they legit Super Bowl contender Will they were like life and death to beat the lions, who got a lead on them? And then the Saints came roaring back. But, you know, I don't know. I don't know if they're Ah Super Bowl contender. The Seahawks looked, you know, Seahawks gotta win on the road against Miami team. The Niners will see next week, but You know, I mean, are they a championship caliber? Vincent's ferocious They can't get to the quarterback. The long notable Adams today well with with their secondary, which was supposed to be so good, didn't have Adam's because of a groin and Trey flowers playing for for Vaughn, the kid they got from the Redskins. If if that continues If Trey flowers continues onto the field, they have no chance because they they honestly they have the worst pass rush in the league. They drafted a couple of young guys to get their their second rounder hasn't been on the field. They lost Clowney. They have zero pass rush and their guys running. Why don't but no matter who they play Dallas, Miami Atlanta They've all ravage the Seahawks for a record number of passing yards in the first four games of the season, and and the other thing I was going to say is the other thing that really jumped out was just that. The Rams. You know all this talk of people who you know, are kind of the anti Niner crowd saying Oh, you know, Yeah, You're you're You're getting fat on the Jets and the Giants. Wait till you face the Rams Ho the ramps. The Rams are winning again today, but the same team that the Niners took apart last week. They're battling with 17 9. The Rams look like they're going toe well, looks like may escape with the with the game the Giants of the ball inside the two minute warning, but If they beat the Giants. It's not going to buy a whole lot, and they were at home and the Rams for at home today, So maybe the Rams we're not quite the juggernaut that people are thinking They are at least coming into today, and I think I still think this is the NFC West is the toughest division in the National Football League. But You know, and we've talked about this before it. Majors come down who plays the best defense and you look at a Russell Wilson. I mean, he's going to give you problems regardless because he's got that he can run the ball and he can throw the best long ball. I've seen in a long time in the National Football League, so I think it's deep it's got it's got to be defense is goingto kind of win this division and the Cardinals have shocked me of the last two weeks. They beat the 40 Niners. There was all that talk that there were going to be the surprise team this year. They were going to be this year's 40 Niners and go from worst to first. They lose at Carolina 31 21. Teddy Bridgewater is great, but they lost at home to Detroit. The week previous to that I liked Cuyler Maria's a runner. He ran for 78 today, and he's great in everything. In 31 attempts he threw for 1 33. That's just not going to get it done. I like Cuyler Murray. I think he's a good player, but this whole M V P talk After two weeks of the season, he hasn't learned to be a pastor get. He's a great runner. He's great threat is great athlete, but all he does is look at DeAndre Hopkins and outside of that You take that? You know you can't take away Hopkins yet. Another seven catches today, but I'm not convinced on Cuyler Murray. I'm not convinced on that defense. It takes a while and when teams start to target U is a team that is the up and comer. All of a sudden, it's a lot harder to win. Losing Detroit, losing to Carolina. Those air winnable football games. They have to win, and now they're two and two, and I don't I don't know what Arizona is. Yeah, that's a great point. I mean Detroit's defense Force Skylar into three picks last week. I will say this for Arizona. They were thin in the secondary. They started Deonte Thompson and Curtis Riley at safety Today, Buddha Baker and the other kid Banjo, You know Buddha Baker's a phenomenal player. Both those guys were out with injury and it burned him. Bridgewater basically had his way in that game..

"He and John McCall who's with us today. David Lombardi of of the site. They did this mock wrapped in a nice job with it, by the way. Like, you said it when I'm looking at these picks, and I know the needs obviously, we're talking about pass rusher. We're talking about off interior offensive line corner safety you even put a tied in there. That's nice tight end from Texas. They the needs seemed to match up with what the Niners need what kind of fresher is John Lynch under this year to get it. Right. Because look I I think Kyle is a great offensive minded. I think Kyle is fine. I don't think they're tied at the hip. But if this is not a great draft is does the buzz start that that the John maybe not long for this job? Well, I think that has has already started. I mean, I it's not very big right now. And I think most people are willing to give them some more years in and jed York was asked this question at the owners meeting a few weeks ago, and he was in his praise of that duo, and you know, did not seem close at all to being to to losing patience with them. But you know, the fact of the matter is that the the two thousand seventeen draft when they also have the number two pick in two thousand seventeen free agency did not go well for this team. And they're having to kind of do things this year that they should have done in two thousand seventeen Quantel. Alexander is a redo for Reuben foster if the team does what medical says and Trask pointing Williams. It's basically a redo force on Thomas. So the two thousand seventeen wasn't great. I think two thousand eighteen is better. And you know, this'll be a very trying draft for them. I if they can build, you know, a to back to back solid rafts together. I don't know if you guys talked about this today with John both the information coming out last week where the league is not suspending Ruben. So they're basically just acknowledging she made it up again. Do did it come up. Do you think he regrets cutting him or as Kyle said, they never really cut them because they didn't necessarily believe him that he hit her again. It was more just they were felt like they were being lied to. And being misled you. But now that he's not suspended if he was still on the team he'd be. They're starting middle linebacker week one. Yeah. And they'd be saving a lot of money that they pay to one Alexander. And he did he did address that today, and he. He acknowledged that. It was a costly error because of all that free agent money that that went into corn Alexander Reuben foster put them in a position where they couldn't keep him mean, it was it was his guy and the rest of the team hotel on the. I have not. No, I haven't either usually locked down like it's like a president visiting. So there for twenty four hours. This is the NBA or the major league baseball, you're in and out. That's right. That's right. They had to they two full floors blocked off Gary on them. They've probably had to go. Yeah. Yeah. He was in a different room with when when all this went down. But you know, my my point is that, you know, at that point, they they had no other recourse, but to depend him. And I you know, I e definitely fit today he wished he didn't have to do that. But they suspended indefinitely though. Right. Yeah. I guess so. At that point that they basically had given him an ultimatum, which was no more mistakes. And then he made another very big one in inviting her to Tampa into that hotel room, by the way, I I'm not ever for a punter. But while Lombardi took Jake Bailey, you took the kid out of Utah. Mitch wish now ski and he's he's got a great personality. I think he's Australian isn't he and he'll he'll do weird kicks and stuff sometimes. So if I was going to go for a punter. I'd go for your pool. What about what about the kicker who refuses to sign? His franchise tag tender. You ever heard of that ever kicker franchise, tag tender? He will not sign. It's good money. It's gonna make me mad gold really wants to be in Chicago. Does he he is basically holding his breath and pouting until he gets his way. But it doesn't seem like the forty Niners are gonna let that happen. Yes. The Australian kicker I chose him because I think he'd be a great story of us. He's good. Yeah. Yeah. Greg Cline, number one motiva-. All this. How does this help me? And, you know, having a an Ozzy punter who by the way was two for two on fakes at the university of Utah. I think I think that's a lot of stories that we can all right and talk about on the radio re-signed, Jared Hain and just get them back together. He's worked out. Well, maybe that's happening either over really well. Remember just bounce neutral party? The road. Sweep power turns in the preseason, though is another a court case, pending. They're trying to get a the signing bonus back. No, no, they didn't. He have some domestic violence or some kind of thing. I think it would be on domestic violence. Oh, so they send him packing. Oh, yeah. Well that was after that. Right. It was after that came out after that, you know, that they send him packing because he wasn't great at at his job. But then all of this stuff. He'd never played football before. He didn't have. Maybe it was against the Rams, but he had a moment to moment. But that that it wasn't very much more than a moment. That was it. All right. Hey, great work. We appreciate it. And we'll see down there on Thursday. All right. Sounds good. All right that barrels from the athletic joining us. And again, if you have to take a punter you take which now ski just because he's got the personality college, Utah Utah. They produce a ton of do they always have a bunch of good. What's boy, I tell you all three of these drafts? If they were able to get these guys the they'd be pretty happy. But that's why I think there's pressure on Lynch. The best three of us. I gotta look again. I liked it. Got Butler in the third round you like Butler deonte Thompson Paris Campbell in the fourth. Yeah. Four three forty Markey's Goodwin. Enjoy the warm of bike. That's mark. Mark is good way. Crude he gets you know stepped on his foot. He misses two weeks. I just he's great and training camp. And he looks sweet on the Twitter videos. But I mean is the NFL you get hit you got to play. You got the whole thing, and we'll get into boasted to in the six o'clock hour because when every single every one of his scouting reports start out with if he's not hurt or if he stays healthy. And then the second thing is his lineage of his brother and his dad that has nothing to do with nothing. But they get hurt a lot. They do. And you look we've seen it here. A lot of the Niners get hurt. And you know, like if that's if that's what they're saying. He might be the most talented, but no I'll move out, you know. I'll move onto the healthy guy who might be a little bit less. But in your case like you said Clinton Williams is not what about taking the guy from Mississippi State too soon. Nothing. No. This one's for bulky. They did a balky special last year with contagious street. Oh, yeah. They got that guy from NC state, the tackle. So eventually one of 'em's gonna hit or not. That's like again, that's Tom's roulette thing. Well, it's got to go read something as yoga is bound to get one. All right. We'll get to do draft talk. If you have a question for middlekauff eight away Kamiar and we'll start the draft talk in the six o'clock hour. Of course, the draft is Thursday and we'll be down at forty.

"Three behind Taylor and John Williams. Perfect pick perfect fit. Who would you rather take Christian Wilkins or Cody for Jamie? I mean, he can't lose with either there as I choose I would take bookings because I haven't graded higher on my board. And I think you too, but. Actually, wait. Now. I don't know. I don't know Wilkins's my last now, I've got four grade one point higher. But I'd still take Wilkins. I think really I think so I think so I think it'd be close it'd be a tough call. But I just think that they've been without a quality defensive tackle for so long that I just think it has to happen in focus is on the board. There's just no other option. Okay. But I do like that pick. They're both days very happy with that pick. I would like Cody Ford over Christian Wilkens. That's just me though. So then around to not quite looking to white receivers to tackle. I already got. So I'm not looking there either interior defensive line Charles Amena who Andrew mon- Jones or their Ronel, Ren Kaelin Saunders. All there. Of course. I wanna go safety here. Say I talked about earlier safety is dang, man. Okay. So how it was going to go want Thornhill here. But he's gone. The guys that are available Taylor rap in money. Hooker and deonte Thompson. I think Hooker and wrap are more strong safeties and free safeties. And I don't want to run into that problem again. And as much as I hate to do it you and I are going to have the same second round pick. But this is my draft. This is what I would do here. I would pick the Thompson we talked about. What a great pairing us would be. Yeah, I've seen people wanting to take Taylor rap in the first round for the charters. And I I don't get it. I think he's a good football player. But I just think he's too. He's too redundant. In terms of his skill set. He's a kind of a poor man's Derwin. James more of a nickel linebacker strong safety type not really fast enough athletic enough to play that deep safety role. I know I've seen some people say you just take the best player and stick him out there. But I just I don't think he suited to that. Particularly on the charter system where he's the only guy back there. Yeah. No. I think he's got the lack of top end system that you just don't want on the back end. And he's not very good silent sideline. You want him as closely as possible and. And when they played him a free safety is when he did not look good. And I think that's part of the why part of the reason why he's not a first round player to me when they played him at a free safety. He just dropped down to my grade. So I'm not taking Taylor rap because you know, you've got a much better player near the line of scrimmage, and then you've got guys like Adrian Phillips were roaming around. And you've got another hybrid KYW's. Your winds playing linebacker used to be a safety plan that spur position at West Virginia. I don't I don't think you need to take Taylor raptor. And I don't think it's a very good fit. Good player. Not a guy. I'm taking the first round. But in the second round he'd make sense there for another team. Just not with the chargers. So moving onto the third round. It's talk about some guys that I'm looking at here wide receiver. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Okay. All right. We'll go back to receiver in just a second tight end. Josh Oliver cadence Smith, I'm gonna wait their interior defensive line, tristen hill, Kaelin Saunders, Gerald Willis. Let's go back to receiver for one minute. Okay. This is this is my draft. Right. I can do throw curve ball. I think I'm gonna throw curveball here. I'm gonna take don't hang it. All right. I'm not gonna hang you here. Here's what's going to happen. I didn't think you'd be here. But I'm gonna entertaining. JJ are Sehgal Whiteside in the third round. Oh, I like that big numbers at Stanford is I think he needs to improve his route running but such a good red zone weapon. Big tall body can get seperation downfield creates yards after the catch. I think as a wide receiver three with some wide receiver to if not best-case.

"But that's the type of impact you can have this week. And I think atr we has possibly become one of the top safeties in this class. Yeah. And that that is a field, which is actually pretty wide open despite having quite a few talented players, and probably it's probably a deeper safety class than we normally see, but nobody has really stepped up yet to walk away with the top of the draft board there we had thought deonte Thompson might but he kind of faded off towards the end of the regular season. And has none classmen. He doesn't really get a chance to show off until the combine. Yeah. And that's that's where some of these seniors do get the advantage of of being in this type of environment. And when you look at a guy like Adderley, he's again, someone not a lot of people were talking about before this week. But he's made some splash blazes gonna get a lot of people to go back. The film dig in more. So he is absolutely someone who has seen his stock rise who who are some other guys you've been really impressive with this week. I think we pretty much have to start with Montas sweat from Mississippi State. He had probably the first splash play of practices. When he he just ran over an offense of lime on his way to what would have been a sack if it wasn't a one on one drill. It was very impressive and showed probably more power than I think you would expect to see from a guy who is who measured in at six six to fifty which nobody in the right mind would sit at little or smaller undersized at all. But for six six that is a little will say spelt. But. He obviously does have power with that length. He also has a thirty five and a half inch arms, which is long. That length in that power. That's those are positive attributes. And I think we could see the giants maybe take a little bit of an interest in him. That would make a lot of sense. He's someone who has been talked about as Pyo possibly one of those top edge rushers. He was someone. We did focus on in our our Ed show. Again, he he was someone who we did expect to be a little slight when he came in. He was listed six six to forty five Mississippi State, but he's someone who was very productive. So we're going to just continue to see and edged is going to be a place where the giants are are probably going to be focusing is somewhere in the first or second round. Not totally sure if that is really where they should go. I think that's a different discussion, especially if it would be Vernon is gone. I'm not sure that's the route this should go. But it probably is something they are going to. Oh, really take a look at will not be surprised. If sweat is someone who has caught the giants. I this week. No and. Unfortunately, one guy who I think might have caught their eye, but he had to back out of the game due to injury was Donald Parham end from Stetson another small school guy. I think he might have caught the giants. I just at wayans. Because we know Dave Gettleman likes his human beings, large and Parham measured in at six foot eight and to forty three, but he's got thirty six inch arms a seven foot wingspan and ten and a half inch hands that is a large human being. Yeah. And at that height. You almost can't expect him to be a blocking tight end. Just because I'm not sure how you get leverage on anybody. When you're six foot eight unless you're lining up against somebody who is legitimately seven feet tall. And I don't think there are any defensive ends that tall. But that size could make you a legitimate threat in the red zone. You don't even have to jump to be able to outjump some guys. Yeah. And that's probably going to be a piece the giants are looking to improve some wear some something in the red zone 'cause the the red zone offense was that. Again, that's something that is probably going to balance back because they were a little better on the other eighty yards of the field and in the last twenty and that's something that that's going to regress towards the success in the eighty onto the field although in say success relatively especially compared to what they did in the red zone..

"Guess that's that's the key point. They they just don't look at. Okay. Here's what we have here her strength. So what place can we put in there that use him? Did you? See any designed runs for dachsie against yet. They didn't go into the game. That would he yet? He has shown he can be very effective. They have shown that they could make place where they can decoy the defense with with Zeke and get back running around in all of a sudden, he's got ten fifteen yards downfield and. Though that it's like that they use play action six times, though, it's been shown in the past that that is critical to his success. This is it's like you. It's almost like I say, we'll gosh, we know we can do this. But less they will can do without relying on that. And it it. It's your head hurts because it doesn't come. It doesn't make sense it doesn't fit. Beat themselves because they say, yes, they're going to be expecting this. We can't do this. Why why can't you? Why can't you try it? Yeah. And let them beat. You don't beat yourself. Yeah. I thought that was the whole idea of of trying to wanna ill office today was to hit him with something. They're not expecting do something a little out of character for something different. And and then, you know, hit him with some other things when they have to adjust to that. Then you can go back to your the stuff don't come out every week doing the same exact thing because it's like, you know, you script your place. Well, it's like the the other the defense has the same script. They've they stolen it. And know what's coming because you're forcible. They forced Dak to do too much. That's what the defense does. They they start the their coordinator. He's putting a bad position. All ready by coach his head coach his coordinator. And then the defense says, hey, we just need to get back office. Spot in make him have to make plays every single time. And that and yet is like he he in this past game. He had a Maury Cooper do a couple of things for him Colby's leave. They didn't even go to Kobe sleep till the fourth quarter. Yeah. That's what Amari Cooper is supposed to do yet. You put a more acute Cooper out there. And then you say, oh, yeah. Well, we're also going to put out Alan Hearns. And I know he had a touchdown and deonte Thompson. I know he had a big play. But that is so far in between of what you could actually get done. If you major offense around its best players because cold Beasley is better than Deontay Thomson. He's better than Alan hurts. And he would be a great benefit of you at having Amari Cooper. But you can't even get the Baltimore Cooper enough to prove that you can do these things and you talk about no designed runs barely doing. Any play action. People are so curious why this offense can't function unless things are perf. Perfect. Well, look who's created that environment. So that's that's what I have to say about. They are to me. I don't know how you defend these coaches anymore at all. Yeah. Well, you can't. But there is no defense for and now, admittedly when you look at how they used their receivers. You look at the play counts Kupa was on a five percent. Offensive snaps. Gallup was eighty percent. Beasley was seventy five percent. But they didn't use him. No. You know? It's like yet. He's shown that with whenever he was at his most successful was twenty sixteen. Dak and Kobe that connection was the most successful at it ever been because guys like Dez Bryant were still playing pretty well because you had guys that were taking it's not like this defense. Cole Beasley away in every single facet of the game. They just decided to take them away from Dak Prescott. Yeah. And you know. It. They got to look you said late, but they weren't trying to get to me that has to make make you wonder about what they're doing with the play calling and what they're telling Dak go after. And then there's the flipside of it can Dak get past one or two reeds which is seems to be very questionable right now. You know, they're also they still going the same thing..

"We've got a touchdown week one last year. The defense was pretty good against tight in. So it's one of those situations where I'm reluctantly playing trae Burton, an Allen Robinson who he. I mean, he took a nice step this past week, launched himself up to fourteen targets eighty three yards, which so I mean ten for eighty three. It's a decent fantasy output for Ellen Robinson, but it's been a career, you know, fourteen yard, catch guy. So far with Mitch, it's down to ten a catch. That's the concern, but loot, you can't argue with the target. Twenty-one targets through two games. Yes. So I'm I'm still comfortable playing Ellen Robson even if he's not afraid of Patrick Peterson, he's gonna see Peterson, but I think the target volume will be there. I think you can also start both defenses in this match for fantasy Arizona at home against Mitch Trubisky. You can get them off of the waivers and they'll be probably turn them over a couple of times. They'll they'll sack him a couple times. Turn the ball over a couple times. I expect this to be very low scoring game three, nothing. The Cowboys won take on the Seahawks up in Seattle, and they're only one and a half point favorites. That's crazy at home. It's not crazy. It's nuts. Forty stink. Forty one point, forty one and a half point over under dal- Dallas with Dakyns Zeke and nothing else right now for fantasy. I mean, are you starting anybody outside? Are you even starting debt? Probably not. No. I'm not starting back on the road. Always Zeke and no one else that is that's accurate. Let's say someone forced you buy torture to to roster another cowboy. It would be who. Or would you just you're just it would be just and then just take my consequence. He'll take your consequently true O'Brien. Yeah, I think it'd be look deonte Thompson, look more involved in anyone last. Yeah, who would be honestly. I look the reason I think that the line is perfectly fine is because the blueprint is there for how to beat the Seattle Seahawks and you eat. There's a mere match thing happening for me in this in this particular match up last week, we saw the Dallas Cowboys, put a ferocious pass, rush onto Eli manning and the New York Giants in his terrible offensive line. We saw the Chicago Bears do the same exact thing to Seattle. That's why I think the line is not bad. I believe that Russell Wilson is going to be under duress for the vast majority of this game. Just like he was this past week, Dallas Dallas upfront on their defense has enough talent to get it done. I actually don't feel like this game's going to be much different than the car don't game. Yeah. The bear cardinal game. I asked about Bob. Yeah. Oh, Baldwin is here. This is a completely different circumstance, but the the running backs aren't going to get anything going. This stinks to be talking about this game because I don't want to play anybody Zeke. That's it. That's the only player in this match. I really want to. I am one hundred percent fine playing Russell Wilson. I think it's been overblown. What happened in Chicago? He is always a consistent fantasy producer and if he's got run, that's good for fantasy. He'll get scores. He's at home, I'm fine with Russell. What about being content you going back, you going back onto, oh, throw movie, you're You're not. not It is it is. big Montana, garbage time, touchdown, saved everything last week. I believe he's the first like rookie tied in with scores. And we're talking about, we'll Disney. Yeah, we'll Disney big Montana. The Moose's loose. I mean, do you just other flame either moose flames here? I mean, I'm where I'm wearing a peak moves shirt. Is he a pink moose? No. What is he? What is he? That is the greatest will heal daily. What is here's what we'll Disney is. That's who he is. Will dizzily is a placeholder Fred Dixon. That's what I believe. He's a necessary piece in an offense that needs pieces right now. He'll have a few catches he'll have yards. Honestly, I believe you can start him over some other bad options..

"So I love this over the top over the edge overreaction to game number one at Carolina after Dak Prescott had been off not played one -lica- football for three weeks and a day with all new receivers, who whose idea was that was at Jason Garrett you over your ex college teammate, Scott linian who did that was Jerry Jones idea. And by the way, Ezekiel Elliott hadn't played a football game for two hundred and fifty two days. And I kept hearing how sleeping explosive he was in camp. He didn't look very sleep to me. He looked like he end on much of anything he needed to play his way into shape, and that's the wrong place wrong time. 'cause I predicted on Friday because I Scilly me. I just watch TV. I don't watch coaches tape, but I watched every snap of preseason game number three, the dress rehearsal game, New England at Carolina, Tom Brady played the whole first half, Tom Brady had a hellish hard time in. Game. He couldn't do much of anything he barely through for a hundred yards. They managed three points against that defense at Carolina while camp laid the first half and managed nine points. It was nine to three Carolina at halftime. So here comes Dallas with all new receivers and no Travis Frederick at center. He's one of the top three centers and pro-football left guard is manned by one Connor Williams. A rookie second round pick every time I watch him again. I just watch TV. He is getting manhandled by somebody. He is over his head over mash, especially by k. Juan short down there. That defense that front seven is rock solid easier. Fears. It can fly to the football led by your guy. Leuke Kelly, and I knew my guys, we're gonna have our time a running the football and be getting open because Tom Brady's guys had a hard time running or getting open. So what happened as they slowly shook the rust off in the second half, they started to play. So they had one hundred seventy two totally arts in the second half and Dax started. Completing some balls to Colby's -ly hit him seven times for seventy three yards Carolina in the second half had a grand total of eighty four yards. So as one seventy to eighty four yards in the second half my guys look like they had a chance to win the football game, but who is second most targeted receiver on opening day somebody named deonte Thompson who played a grand total of like ten snaps in the preseason because he had an achilles injury. They cut him on the last cut. He felt all the way through waivers and they re signed him. So he had zero targets in the preseason. He had five targets and game number one. How do you explain that? Dak Prescott had never completed a pass in a preseason game to Deontay Thomson, and he throws five to him including four and ten from the Panthers forty eight to eighteen left when there it's still a one score game. He throws it too Thomson. He got sacked six times. He was on his heels the whole game because they couldn't block anybody. And I told Shannon yesterday, my biggest fear. About this team is that the office of line is just flat out over rated. I'm not sure about Zack Martin. I'm not sure about Tyron Smith because every time over the last six games last year and this game this year that I watched them closely. I don't see them winning the line of scrimmage while they certainly didn't win the line in this game, but I will tell you this, you know, you keep talking about how they didn't play and how these guys don't have a rhythm at like all new. That's whose fault is that if you know that your situation, then why would you not only your, are you so afraid of getting hurt? We're just not going to play guy. So the preseason is interesting to me because you have a chance to roll out if you are together. If you're tied together, you have a chance in this league to roll out because a lot of teams do exactly what Dallas did. They don't play their guys. So you have a chance to run on the team, right? A chance to roll out in the first three games in steel three games be three and right off the bat, but you've. Chosen to take this young team in a young quarterback and young, a young running back who was suspended last year in brand new receiving core, and we're not gonna play..

"I think he just call my defense gutless and it didn't look like gutless give them credit because it could have been a lot worse because they did force a fumble divide y'all on c. Matt Christian McCaffrey. So give them credit. I thought the defense played well. Now, you know, Sean Lee, he put them the clinical faculty. He looking at the backfield Hugh got kale. Made in the past game. Did you seem get his hands on? Vol's? He got one too, but I thought I thought wide receiver. One hundred eighty pounds run over Christian McCaffrey. He already been blocked sideways. Are you kidding? No, you don't. You don't do that. And then how about my coach coach Clapper. Orthon ten to up to two minutes and eighteen seconds left. Jason Garrett arch conservative, Jason Garrett, fourth and ten from the Panthers forty, eight yard line. You got to eighteen left and your defense the whole second half Cam going nowhere fast. He's having a hard time agree. So you punt it. You try to pin him. You got one of the better coffin corner kickers in the league and just putting back to the five or the ten or fifteen somewhere and let your defense hold on and make them punit back to you. And maybe you'll get the ball first and ten at the fifty, right? Even that's how you play football, that's smart football that you afford. If you got you got now you've got new settle down. So for once Jason Garrett gambles, but it's dumb gambling. Like I can't even justify why to go, no, not way to go because you've done nothing throwing the football, especially on fourth and longer third and long. When are you two for eleven on third down at that point and you just dropping straight back and guess what happened k. want short is right in his face as he starts to release to deonte Thompson, who looked to be open on the sideline for a split second and got a hand up and the ball sails, and the games basically over at that point way to go Jason. Whoa, whoa. Whoa. All the time out your quarterback. You told me you gotta top quarterback top ten quarterback. Got to deliver us from evil. Yeah, but what? What quarterback with no protection can be any good at all. What did you tell me happen to Tom Brady at Denver in the championship game? Right. But that's not Tom Brady had that running gear, Tom Brady run a game, and he run you out. He beat the breaks. Okay. But Dallas didn't have a running game yesterday? No, they had they not reprints. Okay, great. Quarterbacks can make a difference. They're gonna make their receivers live better. Now they're on the road, so they go on the road and go to Carolina. It's tough to win on the road. So when you go on a road, you wanna split when when your home games. So that's still got time but day this going to come onto Prescott. It really is. I mean, let's go to the defense is going to play good football. They're gonna play solid ball, but it's going to come. Can he make plays with his legs and with his arms consistent basis so they can win over ten game? Yes, he can. No. And yes, he will next. Sunday night on national.

"And now I dare I say a long suffering cowboy fan because it's been a long time since they want to Super Bowl or even sniffed a Super Bowl. Right? And I sat back last night and just shook my head and said, that's the old Jerry talking, but the new Jerry doesn't walk his talk anymore because the new Jerry Jones is is more of just some John Jones or Joe Jones. Just some guy, right? He's he's fallen back into the ranks of those arch conservative owners to me who are more concerned with making money than winning championships because he's not putting his money where his mouth is because he's not a plunger anymore. He's not a risk risk-taker. There's no gopher broken this new Jerry. He appears to be resting on his new hall of fame. Laurels, right. Did mention because just when. I thought they were on the verge in the off season and it's time for Jerry to plunging. Go get him and write that check for him. They lost out in the bidding for Sammy Watkins who went to Kansas City and you brought up roll. Thomas just keep waiting and hoping and wishing and waiting and nothing happens about Earl. Thomas who wants to be a cowboy reportedly could be had for a mere second round pick. Then you'd have to write a check. Obviously you'd have to pay him top safety money. I don't know. It'd be like fifty million guaranteed that huge, not huge. General Jerry. Would that be a Super Bowl making potential move? Yes. Even you agree with that, you'd be a little nervous over there. They signed Earl, Thomas would be, but nothing. Nothing. Here's to happen because Jerry seems to sit back and say, I trust my coaching staff. We got our new receivers, coach named Sanjay LOL. I trust him. I don't need a new receiver because I got a new receivers coach, can he ply now he doesn't get to fly. Then he's trusting will McClay his new draft master because we got kids who are going to grow up and become stars really. I don't know. Maybe. So they go out in the off season and they get table on Austin, who was considered a bust with the Rams. Right? And they get Alan Hearns and deonte Thompson and varies Daytona Joneses and Joe Thomas just a bunch of guys and they're all pretty jihad ward. They trade for, but they're all just guys, you've got deeper. Did you get that much better? I don't see it yet. So then it occurred to me. Wait a second. Jerry is just talking hypothetically, and I know Jerry's talk because I interviewed him for literally hundreds of hours for the three books I wrote on the Dallas Cowboys and he can really spin those yards man. But you have to sift through all the verbiage because sometimes he's just talking out of his head like where he's going. So I want to remind everybody. He went deeper in this radio interview on his radio gig in Dallas. And he talked about how he's talking about the man above, and I think he's being real about what he believes. He's saying that. Years ago, I wanted the third Super Bowl..
