"Hogan Ramsey. Personality is my co host today. Here on the air. This is the Dave Ramsey Show a triple 882552 to 5 Jackson's in Denver. Jackson. How are you? I'm doing what I gave up with yourself better than I deserve. What's up? Yeah, I had a question. I go background. I'm a first generation or was it first reaction called You didn't I now call myself living. Motive. Appreciate rich spot for lifestyle, three things out of the Bay Area now here in Colorado. Um then fortunate enough, you know, Linda pretty start off their job in fighting. Um, you know, in a couple months ago, I've recently purchased the car and my question to you is, you know, I'm paying about $2300 and rent that moment. And, you know, I realized I bit off way more than I could chew. Consume my current income. And you know, I have, like, you know of a crude about $7000 in credit card debt. S o. You know, I want no by making the right decision in downsizing moving out of the downtown area that Comey residing and you're thinking of a smaller place currently in keeping the card for the making payments on and just, you know, once Cove it, uh Once Kobe down can get out of the picture. I commute to work. Okay. And so what? Do you on the car? I'm actually only about $21,000 in the car. And what is your income? Um so my beef but 65 hit my bonus is about 35,000 Jews, 60. Okay? And you have $7000 in credit card debt. All right. How much student learned up? I'm sure I ate internships and had two jobs or college train off. You're not afraid of work. That's good. Okay? And, um Yeah, 2300 is ridiculous. And your situation you do need to move down and rent. Because the rent money that you're paying is forcing your hand on other stuff. That's what's caused the credit card debt. You didn't pay the rent with a credit card, but you gave all your money away to rip. And so you don't have any money when you want to buy something, and you used the credit card. Is your house Poor? Exactly. It's fleeting. It's eating your lunch. And so I want you on the cheapest possible thing and then cut up the credit cards as soon as you get off the phone. And we'll do the people do and attack those cards on Let's get let's get let's get let's get moved and let's get on a tight budget. And you're working 40 hours. Working about 120 hours early. Wow. But no ot, huh? Yeah, No, it's it's how you mean. It's a job in that private equity. Okay, well, Jackson, I'll tell you this body. I love the idea that you already have the mindset of downsizing that shows you willing to sacrifice. But here's the thing that I would be concerned about. Even if you downsize and you continue the habit you're doing, you're going to continue to have credit card debt. You're going to continue to have a car payment, so not only should you downsize, but you need a shift in your in your mind set and just how you're looking at money. It's got to be about cash, buddy. Your income is going to continue to go based on your age. You're making a heck of a income and it's gonna get bigger. What you've got to do is make sure that you say if I don't have cash, I'm not doing it. Right? I just I'm not. And so I want you to go to zero and attack that credit card debt, then the car and you say I'm not going backwards anymore. I mean, think about what it feel like to have absolutely no payments right now and be living in a cheap place and saving for your first house. Yeah. That's really only about a year away for you. If you completely start focusing on this debt because he's got a serious work outfit, I mean that that boy's going places you're gonna you're gonna be just fine, sir. You're doing really well. Yeah, You're making good decisions. Gary is in Lexington. I Gary, How are you? I'm good, Dave. How you doing Better than I deserve. How can I help? All right. You had a question that a few years ago I had my grand parents had passed away and they left, Uh, piece of land a pretty significant piece of land to me and my mother. And me and my wife had decided this year to build a house somewhere else, But we didn't want to live there. We didn't really like the community. And now we're kind of in the position that we're in my mama's taking care of, like all everything with it. All these years, like, even with taxes and stuff. We're going by wanting to get away from it. We'd gone want to maybe sell our part on. I've talked with her a little bit about it, and I don't know if she I don't think she wants to because she's living in the house. It's our house That's on the farm is well and I don't think she wants to sell it, and I don't know the process of morally how to do it without Damaging anything. I just not one of the process and what would be the process to get me started on how many eggs away? It's about 65 Acres. It's a It's a big piece of Miami. So what would be wrong with just planting it off and you guys take a portion? It's not improved and sold that and left her with 30 acres in the house. I've never thought about that. I mean, she got playing right? I should still be on the family ground and you just sell off the You know the you'd have to just figure out how to configure it. Get it, get a and engineering firm to help you draw the plant where It's beneficial to your mom we want we want to protect her. We wanted to protect the memories and the family is much family homestead as much as we can, and we want to create a property line configuration that gives her privacy gives her a sense that something is not built over on top of her. And that kind of a thing And you don't even have to take exactly half you could take less. Okay. Be generous to her. Okay? Yeah, I do that that you could 25 acres and she got 40. Yeah, depending on how the configuration works. Yeah. Yeah, I'd have to look it over there. How receptive. How do you think she'll respond to that option? Yeah. You know, I think that never thought about ending it like that. She would be okay with it. Come shoes. I lived here. My whole life killed this year. How much? How much road front adjuster. We're kind of off of one of the main like road and the way that is laid out. Those there is like there's only one entrance into the property. On and I don't know the way that trust is light out. There always has to be like an easy way in that robbery don't have they don't know that's gonna affect your configuration that I'm talking about. The more road frontage. You've got, the more the easier this idea is, and it sounds like you have no road frontage. And so you're gonna be operate, You're gonna be giving an easement to the new owner. Near her house is what amounts to so now is this property tillable? Is it being farmed? Or is it would is it timber? What is it? It is probably about. I think I'm 25 acres of it, you know, and then the rest of it, Amber, Okay? Uh, And so and where is it located in Kentucky? Yes. In Kentucky. We're just south of Washington about 45 minutes. And like the London Corbin Area Beautiful area. Yeah, we want it s so we just moved in with somebody might buy that almost as a hunting count. Yeah. You know, that's probably got some deer on it. And Gary, are you are you and only sibling? Yes, it has left me and my mother. You know? Yeah..

"Favorite line of the episode. Although definitely not the most important line of the episode is when jack is trying to talk to them and convince them. Hey we need our weapons mac. We need to fight these evil gould. They're bad there. Were like the jack. And daniel can't come up with any good words very bad and the keep getting told. No jack finally says. Is there anyone else i can talk with. That tends to be a frustration for him again and again but it's just so typical align for him. I love that you say a couple of times in the episode again it was. I was looking for at this time around that there are others right so it's not just a little tiny settlement in the forest and that there are others that they could have gone to for for help or whatever right but there's no leader as such that. Jack can go negotiate. He says they don't wanna talk to you. Yeah exactly there might be a leader. They don't want to talk to jack right again. Armament is we kind of know him as an actor is playing sharper characters in this doctors who are more sarcastic who are more aggressive. And i do think it's nice right near. He's kind of playing against eight but he's also kind of playing like he gets some really murderous looks at jack throughout the episode as jack progressive we annoys him more and more and more so. I do think that he is. He sort of the father figure in terms of israel. But he's also father figure in terms of the figuratively. He's the one. He's trying to protect these people and standing up to again the outsiders who were kind of a bad influence on his wing really. I really liked his performance for this. He has a nice way of just tightening his lips. As he's looking at jack. I think the show does a very nice thing. I mean it's a bit silly out. The young knox would go and visit the rule. But it does allow this wonderful parallelism where antonius anti-us says. The very young. Do not always do what they are told. Which of course equally refers to o.'neil and the rest of the gang because they are as young or younger probably than the young knox right. You're talking about your sort of comedic moments and there's a bunch of them in this episode in amidst all the drama that's going on where there's a couple of lines from denver jackson when he he's offered this very discussing increase up and he said no. I'm trying to quit which he has made. That joke already didn't even right. There's a piece another remember miniature but then another one and you could tell he was going to say it when the alien says i'm for thirty two years old and he doesn't quite know what to say you hook great That made me laugh. What's best is the response. Thanks alexa accepts the compliment. That was a lot of this. Episode are far more actually the second time the first time it was like okay and the second time i really got into enjoying was amazed how much more i liked it the second time one little thing i do quite like the Shield generator one thing. I like about it is to never knew about it. Which basically implies that. No one's ever tried to rebel against the gould enough to gould. Ever had to show their defensive technology. Yeah i like that. I'm disappointed that they did not just go all out and use the line from dune that the slow aero penetrates the shield. I was waiting for that line. They didn't quite give it. They didn't do it now now. they're not yet one of the thing about the costuming. I kind of like the knox but they kind look. Like a stereotypical dean druid mixed with the keys on from star trek voyager. But hey fine. There's good moments for oak..

"The shooting has been off the charts by most people here. Let's exclude the Lakers and also the ability to have This time, your executions better your ball moves Better. Your spacing and team just don't get the practice that much and they're getting the chance to do that. Here. The Clippers top five offensive efficiency to go with their top five defensive efficiency. Denver the designated home team, We got a big screen surrounding three edges of the court, say Mile high City with Nuggets logo Denver in the blue uniforms with yellow numerals Los Angeles Clippers. The white uniforms trimmed in black Yokich and zoo bots getting ready to jump center Right now we are waiting because the first game on ESPN is coming down to the final second with the Raptors out in front of the Sixers by two points, But we're about to get underway here at the advent Health arena balls away controlled by Yokich and the Nuggets, who will work it from right to left as we watch it. Here in Orlando, Yokich there, seven foot point guard to start dribbles up. They get it now the Murrays between the circles, Murray homing the ball of the right hand fires to Yokich. They like the mid range jumper that was a loop pass into the mid post story. Craig's fading away missing on the iron and rebounded by Marcus Morris Coming left to right now, Paul George has it. He'll stop at the three point line, shoots his first attempt as a miss and Michael Porter intervention averaging over nine rebounds per game here in the Double grabs one early border at 6 10 Adama's jury We only played three games sends it over to the right side. Murray using a string gets to the free throw line back to Nicola is opened for three launches and hits and the first points go to Denver should have took the first shot. I mean, he tried to pass it up, and he is a guy that has got to be a little more selfish and look for his offense. Okay. It's a 32% 3 point shooter. Three Nothing. Denver. Jackson fires one inside out, Morris, His three is a Miss Yokich on the weakside rebounds brings it across the time line from the right passing to Porter Porter lost. The handle was tipped out of bounds by July, and it'll be Denver ball here a minute 13 into this one watch. They're going, Paul! George, now over the porter. Like why Leonard? Get on the young fellas. Welcome to the lead Defending Yokich gives it upto Murray's wide open from on top is three point of bounces in and out rebounded by Zuba. You got pink shoes, right highlighter pink shoes defending now for the Clippers. They go over the whole island, and he's got Jamal Murray on him on the right leg. Trying to back him down, using that right hip into the mid post fades 15 footer off the front rim soft but won't go down and quite has the rebound. We got the highlighter green sneakers for Jamal Murray could see them from space up. Here is a passed down that Greg saves on the baseline out. Supporter Look reporter on three missed their rebounded by Morris. Three. Nothing. Denver flippers two minutes in yet to get a point. Morris works it on the right wing gives it to Kaleil entered in the right corner up, takes on Millsap drives in left hand to the elbow, backs up jumper pure alive. He sat out the last ball game prior to that 39 against Portland. Trailblazers, who, by the way, they need to play a little better defense to giving up a ton of points, But in position now as the eighth seed in the West, that all comes down tomorrow, talk about that little bit later on three to Denver, Millsap up top. He's open for a moment squares for three. It's a Mrs Juba has the Clipper rebound. Given on the near side to call George across. It sets up the right wing against Millsap dribbles between the legs screens off the defenders shoots out the top. George Missing from 20 Porter has the board. Here comes Denver the other way. Michael Porter Jr in Columbia, Missouri. And Millsap on the left baseline. Millsap in the lane Hook shot with right hand. No good rebound. George, both struggling from the field here in the opening three minutes, Flippers air, one for five number 16 George stepped to the baseline shot blocked by Porter and knocked out of bounds. And that's the edge of the game. They're waiting for the young man to show his well that offensive well, four of his six games here in the bubble, he's had 2010. He had three straight 25 10 rebound games, first for a rookie since Pal Gasol in 2002. So elegant Clippers have nine to shoot more with it down to the baseline left. He'll pull the jumper and score from 20 feet away. Clippers taken for three league He's really played well. Last four ball games about 15.5 game well, over 50% shooting yoga wide open. He thought about it a couple extra minutes seconds rather then. Shot three and missed old shooting continued. Reggie Jackson penetrates passes in the left corner. Morris waits for Mill staff to go by now drives and sends it on the window. Leonard Leonard puts it on the get goes to the free throw line shot. No good, got fouled and collide. Leonard will get himself to the free throw line. Afoul will be on the youngster Michael Porter Jr dynamic duo of Paul George Leonard just 36 games together this season. The Clippers were 26 10 when they both play 29. Paul George, 25. Well, that's here in the excuse me, but both over 50% shooting from the three point line. I think they're getting a little more comfortable together as he knocks down the first free throw. You get mad at me, But I told you the Clippers to me is the best team in the NBA, and we haven't seen the full complement enough. If in fact they do get to that full compliment. I believe they're gonna win the Western Conference. Why hits both, But I don't doubt it with talent. They have next ball question foryou. Jamal Murray spots and shoots three from a left, but it's a good time. The game is six, Murray hitting a three pointer just his third game here in the bubbles coming off the injury looks off. In the first couple of tension in the right corner, Morris said. To save it on the sideline, skips it across to Reggie Jackson and up fake drive away saved it on the end line. Six to shoot out. Morris. Quarter three Mrs. Offensive rebound out Paul George on the fresh 14 will take its time again. Story Craig thousands to do body underneath past, Jackson walled off with five finds Morris for the Open corner three. It's Mr Milsap has it for Denver, 667 39 to go in the first. LSAT blitzes into the front court runs into traffic fines. Yokich puts it off the window from Paul Millsap right there that was some kind of play a little whirling dervish leaves the air and find Jochen easy Bankers 86 lead Denver Jackson on the pick and roll. The jukebox puts it up close range, and he's been a factor he's played is good. As he has played all season here in the lobby in 10 for 10 field goal game the other day, that time defended by Zuba knocked it away. "Thank Christopher Allison yes. I'm back for one day I planned. I'm full disclosure. I plan on coming in here today because I thought we'd be celebrating the Lakers victory over the bucks. We came up just short. I am also coming in here on the twenty six. Th Christmas says that good because that's what we're going to celebrate the Lakers win over the clip. That's right But let's do these things one at a time right now we're GONNA talk. NFL One of the big disappointments around. Here we are the ram station. The Rams M.'s appear to be going absolutely nowhere in the postseason because of an embarrassing loss last Sunday in Dallas. They're gonNA play tomorrow night in San Francisco each week throughout the football season Georgia Horie or as Mason calls him. Georgie see because he can't pronounce his last name Has Been Nice enough to join us and George joins us now. Hey man how are you. I'm doing well. Dj In my normal self with my nickname in everything. There you go. Yeah they they could have been a part for you in the Irishman George answer this anyway you want. Why are the rams missing? The playoffs a year after they went to the Super Bowl in your opinion they got pretty lucky with health. I think over the past couple of seasons before this season and everything went from good and regrets not to average but I think regress to to poor and that really exacerbated the issues that they have on their team at Jared Goff is so interesting because when things are right you know. And he's allowed to throw downfield to their that miss you rather have and then it it just slides so quickly downhill when things aren't perfect. Took a guy like Russell Wilson. Who when you know he's played with a crappy? Oh Line is entire career and manages to still be great for Jared Goff when it's not perfect. It's really bad and that the injuries have just made it so that he's now really bad far too often and that's why they're gonNA slap so in the NFL the George. Can you call a quarterback a good quarterback if he can only be good under the best of circumstances because nine ten seasons. You're not going to get that. I think that's a super valid question. And that's why you know there were some question marks around him And why don't think it was a no brainer to sign him. But you look looking at Guy It was a good example. Kirk cousins is I think a great example. He has a pretty good situation right now. In Minnesota with the scheme that they're using the receivers that he has and as a result he's having a phenomenal season When things aren't going well he looks like a trash fire fire and yet teams are willing to pay a lot of money for someone like that because on the off chance you get one of those good seasons you think you can win a super bowl? I don't think it's a sound investment but the NFL is so quarterback starved. I think they'll still get paid are taking George Shahuri from pro football. Focus in your your opinion or the days of Todd Gurley being a pro bowl running back over probably because he's not going to get enough Enough attempts enough usage that the days of him being a component of the offense that provides some value. I I I don't think are necessarily over the tough thing. Todd Gurley though is that he has not been a good receiving back particularly the season last season. A lot of the screen game game helped out those numbers but this season. We're starting to see that he really isn't that great of receiver the football mt contribute from the running back position in the NFL you have apt to be one of those and he is not so the injury combined with that. I think it was probably a improved. Not so prudent move to sign him long-term and you're probably not going to get a return on that investment. It was kiss me in Los Angeles starting to Georgia. Hurry pro. Football focus is that is not involved in the passing game because Ah Sean mcvay hasn't put him there as he has in years past or something changed about the way girlie performs when asked to be part of it. You know it's interesting. He had really good receiving numbers last year. Because of the screen game he had I think the third best or second best passer rating targeted on screen green now screens are largely a function of. How do you set it up right? And then the running back catches fairly easy path and runs straight at but he also had a lot of drops. Remember that Saints Game He had a couple of drops that would've picked up first downs on actual routes that he ran out of the Backfield And so his receiver abor numbers from a box score. Perspective have been misleading. He hasn't been that good of a receiving back and now the screen game being set up as well and so it's really obvious Now you know when you look at the box score numbers that he's just not going to contribute enough acid George if you had to put your the show hurry fortune on a team to make it to the super bowl out of the NFC. Everybody says the Ravens are now clearly the team to beat in the AFC. But if I if I said Mary yourself to one team in the NFC that you think is going to make it to the Super Bowl. WHO's the one well it's interesting I on the AFC aside? I really liked the chiefs over the Ravens Ravens You know what I would take Pat Mahomes over Lamar Jackson ten times out of ten and in the playoff that is so important. Well Go to me that the it's very close. I think the one team that can beat the Ravens is the chiefs and if they're healthy I really liked the chiefs. Chances Ah on the on the other side of the bracket though if the seahawks can find a way to beat the niners week Seventeen Russell. Wilson is the quarterback. We're back I want because he can make enough great throws to get you to the Super Bowl. The problem is the rest of his team has averaged to blow average so the saints or the answer there in the the NFC because they have the most complete team drew brees is playing really well and pushing the ball down the field. And here's the kicker they have the best shot at playing at home and that's really matters. In fact they have the best shot at playing at home and making sure they have a by. The other things are kind of up in the air for all those teams so in the NFC. It's the Saint George so when you look at the the the niners and that's obviously the team that the rams are playing this weekend with the thinnest of playoff hopes still still available. We should mention that. The rams are not out in Minnesota needs. Sky would have to fall in order for the rams getting. They've been go ahead. Her cousin has made it fall before me. Look if you need a team to choke Minnesota's go to bed as any like they have a good history of that sort of thing but like you know if you listen to keyshawn Johnson on our morning show like he is not bought into San Advert Cisco all year long and then they go and they lose to Atlanta who is not th. They're probably better than the record. Where do you put the niners in terms of of the elite teams in the NFC? Well as I think they're right behind the saints And obviously they beat the saints in New Orleans. But the Falcons game was like the most trapping of all trap games In despite what you know cows hands not playing out there and I know that he cared about winning that game but he didn't and care enough to go forward You know a really key fourth down at the end of the game and that told me all I needed to know about their mentality in that game. He was very aggressive on forth against the Ravens and against the saints. Superbowl caliber teams Falcons or not one of those teams. So I am not going to be overly hype that game against the niners. Tough thing for the niners is that Jimmy G. is not a top. You know seven eight quarterback right. He has a lot of things visit. Jared Goff has going Where when things kind of get muddy he has the propensity to put the ball up for grabs? And you. You can't win with a lot of turnovers and in the playoffs offs but as a team Through and through they have a ton of talent I think they're the most talented team in the NFC You know from player one to twenty two on their the starting lineup. I in this game against the rams. It'll be interesting to see if they can. They have such a week on the interior offensive line. Like if the RAMS ARE GONNA make this playoff push in and beat the niners aired Donald might be able to take over the game because he gets to face a week interior and that could be the downfall of the niners in the playoffs too. So George when you look the whole division then you know the rams obviously fallen into third place and you talked about Seattle and you've talked about San Francisco as you know as very talented. We thought the rams window was going to be two or three or four years long. Are they already through that contention window at least with the group that they have now. It isn't that crazy to think about. I mean the quarterback position is so massively important and when you have Russell Wilson In a division. You know you're always going to have have the second third or fourth best quarterback that's just going to happen And the other problem is that when you trade all of your draft assets If those things those pieces don't work out for you then you have no way of replenishing the bears are going to feel that brunt over north so they're clearly the third the best team in this division and the problem is that the the cardinals are also ascending. So certainly there window hasn't closed you know but like it's really hard in the the NFL sustained greatness when you can't replenish You know every season and they're in a place where it's going to be talked to do that Georgia hurry from pro. Football Focus. Focus is with US George. The pro bowl selections came out this week. Who is the biggest snub at is a good question? There were a lot There were a couple of guys from Denver Jackson Simmons has been our most Highly graded safety. He did not make it Eric Hendricks a linebacker from the the ATHOL or mentioned Viking. Yeah Ucla Guy Yeah. He's been tremendous. I mean the guy has almost as many pass breakups as the the number. One cornerback. Does he plays linebacker acker he's been our highest grade linebacker. He did not make it. And then I'll give you one that that is kinda crazy but kirk cousins not making it over. Aaron Rodgers is absolutely insane. It's crazy kirk. Cousins is putting up really good numbers. That's I'll give you one that synthesizes it for me. Aaron Rodgers here's from clean pocket is averaging a below league average yards per attempt. Kirk cousins is third in the NFL and Aaron Rodgers made it just on name alone and you would enjoy. You would definitely take her cousins over Dak Prescott Y- that one is very close. It's very close to me..

"This? I weren't then I'm kind of leak and I need a savior for sure. I somebody to care for me. Then has been a big thing. I've learned. About myself. I don't know that's a hard question. But I learned just the I have wonderful friends Christians in my life. Just enhanced me so much. I learned, you know, a about myself how much I love, and I think that your passion, and what you want to if you think about your purpose and your passion, it kinda comes out of pain. A lot of time. And so it I developed a real passion for women and for women that go through hard times in I. Have a passion for women that are abused. Women in the workplace just to see them, grow and change. Because you know, as I started work women weren't in software very much. They don't go into math and science that much. So, you know, I just have true myself, and my Ferencvaros have just loved to see women blossom my girl and even today and thinking about women that are trafficked, that's a big problem. And a and a big issue. I have a real heart for that. Do you know, Jeff Brodsky? Who joy international? Okay. He's he's in town here, you know, but he meant him more. Oh, yeah. Okay. You know, he told me one time or I might have heard in a when you speaking once, but he said Denver is the fourth largest place for trafficking in the country. That's true. We have some major highways that come through here. And and you know, hard to think about it. It really hard to think of believable, you know. And I've heard that over in the Denver tips, and it's really big in some of those hotels there. That's I mean, I spent my career in the Denver Jackson. So to me that's a shocking back. Yeah. It's just kind of an unbelievable. So how do you how do you help them? Or what are you? You know, you mentioned that you're helping women in the workplace. What's your what's your method of doing those things? I method. Well, I love I just love people. And I love women to see them grow in the workplace. You know, we did several things, but I love the mentor. I really tried to mentor, and I I still talk to the women that were working under me back then and encourage him, and I have gone on to enter a lot of people so working with them directly worked providence network probably for twenty five years, and they have a home for women coming out of abuse. So, you know, I was I believe in giving your your time as well, as you know, as financial to help these organizations that are, you know, giving much to help people. Yeah. That's that's wonderful. Has people coming out of abuse? Not only the views women, but they also have people coming out of addiction. That's good. Will what what do you think is next for you? Where do you think is your like when you look at the future? What do you wanna see as maybe your your legacy? Your impact. No, I think right now in this part of my life part of my legacy would be my grandchildren. I just wanted to see my children, and my grandchildren grow up with heart for the Lord into go to become generous into become giving a couple of years ago at thanksgiving. I gave everybody rebel generosity cards that I had that gave you something. He had to do every day. And it wasn't all financial. It was in thing for each somebody to find somebody that needs something or there were times when you give somebody else's charity. You know? And it was so fun to see the kids go through that. Thanks back at tell their stories that Christmas just to hear what that you know, how the change them and thinking logo what a practical little way to just influence who they become. Right. I I have showed that with a lot of people because it was it was a great experience as a family to do it. And then just to encourage them to share. I think that's so powerful. Obviously this show is all about sharing our stories to let it out there. Because when we do it's powerful, you know, most of the bible is narrative, and there's a reason for that. I I love people stories that in something. I just love my kids my grandkids. Thank I ask too many questions that people, but it's just because I love to hear about them and love to hear their stories. The neat curiosity. I think is very powerful.
