Hundreds of property owners sue five county assessors for pandemic relief

"Owners are suing Colorado counties over their property taxes. The argument is that their properties are not worth what they used to be, so their taxes should be adjusted. Hundreds of lawsuits have been filed in the last couple of weeks against the assessors in Denver, Arapaho, Eagle, Larimer and well counties. All filed by the same law firm after the plaintiff's lost appeals of their challenges to the assessed value of their properties. Businesses say the pandemic has decreased commercial activity, some of which was caused by government imposed restrictions. Denver County alone is being sued by 361 plaintiffs.

I don't support teachers being arm. students are safer in only three and. as one commenter mentioned. classrooms can be distracting teacher can turn his or her back for a moment. get a hold of a gun. my main concern so the decision was made last night by the board to lead a sense classical academy apply for Colorado charter school status that move would allow the academy to be funded directly by the states in Aurora the search for hit and run driver.

"Let's go to this. Best cars problem again. Mike two thousand seven Kia Sorrento on you bought in two thousand sixteen fall of two thousand sixteen. This is two years later, you had a one year one hundred thousand whatever warranty something happened. Why? Now what what's going on, man? What's going on? Well, they didn't want to fix it. So I kept paying on it for about five months after that. I did a voluntary repo Adam pick it up, by the way voluntary repo is exactly like a regular repo just minus the expense of the repo. Does the same exact thing to credit and you're still responsible for deficiencies? There is no difference. Go ahead and keep on, sir. Yes. And I paid it off after the repo. So it would not affect my credit. I received I received a letter from the Denver county sheriff's department impound lot that Sorrento was an impound. So I called and come to find out the license plates that I had on it. The VIN number was still registered to me. There was major crimes being committed in that kid Sorrento. And the deputy that I spoke they must have sold it to somebody. Well, the deputy said it looked like he was being used as a parts car. What do I and? Well, I wanted to know if they they kept my plates, everything on it. I don't know how they kept the register. Okay. Gotcha. Yeah. Or they didn't or they didn't reregister it. And or they put phony CHAD'S on it. There's all kinds of ways it happens all the time. What about it though, sir? Well, I did not know that was still using my information because it has. Okay. So let's say they were I mean, let's say the where I don't understand what why you're calling though. I don't understand what you what you're asking is what I guess, I I didn't know if I had any legal recourse against them for. Still using my information on the vehicle. Okay. What do you mean by legal recourse? Well, I don't know if that was some sort of fraud against the car dealership, or let's say it's major fraud. Let let's say it's major fraud again, either against the car dealer or you. Let's say they are using your information. And they keep it registered, and it has your plate on it. Yeah. Let's let's say for argument's sake. It is major fraud. Now what? I wasn't sure which route to go. Well, what you do is you get it stopped. That's what you do. In other words yet. And I think it's it's been taken care of because it's going to be stopped. So the problem is solved. I mean, you stopped the fraud. If there was fraud. Right. Right. Okay..

"And that's really causing us this affordability crunch will need some of the county's darren where lack of homeless 42 bility has really become most pronounced and as you mentioned they're not just on the coasts yes when we look at our affordability index the the county's with the lowest affordable affordability and action that's affordability relative to to the themselves they're dad market ya um they may be surprised in the first one as denver county colorado which may not be as surprising but it other than the fact that it's in the middle of the country it's not san francisco or brooklyn and it's got the lowest affordability index in the country and then really surprises genesee county michigan which is in the flint area second on the list um and then you have a couple more denver area counties atoms in a rap aho and weld county in colorado and then you have some counties in knoxville tennessee odd dallas nashville austin texas portland portland is probably one that people might more more expect but a lot of those other markets are in the middle of the country and what's happening is uh we're seeing a lot of upward pressure on home prices in those areas uh and i think it's partly due to to folks migrating from higher price markets to those areas defined affordable housing but in the process uh they're pushing up the prices in making those markets less affordable than they have been historically darren includes senior vice president at adam data solutions thank you very much for.
