"So. When asked me how Leoluca doing she dealing with this? So the day that day when everything was the worst. I think for sure for sure. She knew something really bad was happening and then we had friends come over and so she had some like other people who could be more present with her because both me and Dennis Ryan Lake Shock I think. And then the next day, and this is something that she has never done ever ever ever. We were like I was cooking breakfast in the morning, and the that is and I were talking and talking intensely, and as we got quiet, there was a gap between sentences or something, and then I hear her over from the kitchen table going hey. Papa keep talking to Mama. I'm like, what just keep talk more to Mama like keep talking to me. And like why does she want us to keep talking like wait? She doesn't want our attention over there. You know and I go look as you took a big fat black Crayon. and. She was just like drawing all over. This is our freshly painted kitchen wall like just painted all the walls in our house. And just big black angry marks all over. And she's not she's never had a like that she's never she's super into rules and what's right. What's wrong? She's she would never she's never ever ever. She's not who should who she is and then I just saw like I caught her eye and was like Leah and started bawling as you just cried and cried and cried and cried. And I know whatever that was, you know some sort of reaction on on everything the the horrible intense shitty energy in vibration that's been a part of this house. For that time so I think in the end of the day I, sat her down and I tried to explain it said, Hey, I know momma wasn't wasn't so present with you yesterday and and how did you feel and she keeps she keeps coming back to these I. Don't know where she picked it up. If it's because he's hearing me talk about safety and she goes mom are you safe now also at at a night in bed before going to bed like she'll cry I leave the room initial crying a comeback in as it was going on she's. Can you lie here? Mom Are you safe here with me? And I'm like, do you mean are you safe with me? You know like is she yet can papa come in. Can we all lie in the same bed? Is it safe here? Am I safe here? Are you safe year? So she's picking up those. kind of wording but also probably that feeling of not being safe, you know I never like have it hovered over her bed at night for two years rights and she was a baby in Phnom doing that again like make going into her room every night and turning the alarm on before we go to bed. Bike for sure. I have an energy about me now that probably is telling her that. It's not so safe here anymore. You know. So of course she feels that but she also wasn't a part of you know she didn't hear anybody say these things she didn't. Of course you can't read you know like she's not she's too young. So I think she's still As protected from all of this as as she could be I. Think. So. Yeah. Speaking of. I haven't been on social media, right for almost two weeks I've had..

"You don't have the same vigor is if you buy one that's crafted on rootstock right there's millions of roses grown here so what they're done there they stick a cutting of a really hard cold hardy cultivars and then it gets large enough to graft onto it we cannot win not cutting yeah finding your you like doing the cuttings or anything special as far as how we like going into shock well the easiest way to do rose cuttings is first off you want roses that have come through a harder winter with the chill so what we do when we're propagating roses from cuttings we take we grow I'm a twenty four inch boxes are cutting stock we put him into a semi reefer trailer and we turned him down to about twenty five twenty eight degrees and leave in a container for a week to get that would really dormant and then we take the cuttings on that word and put it onto a heat stable so what we want is we want dormant would and then we want to put that onto a heat table and that way it roots out comes out a lot faster so you know this would not be a very easy time to grow roses from cuttings it would be much easier done in the winter time all right thank you Sir bye bye Dennis in Glendale high Dennis Ryan yes Sir I have a question tango Mandarin orange tree thank them it can't make things Mandarin tree and Everton I've had it in the ground it's only about five feet tall right now and it's still a little dive into having a grand for a year and I knew deep watering once a month in the in the winter and and every two weeks in the summer and it was it's better with a bunch of leaves and and in the spring time want to hit a hundred degrees it dropped a bunch of the leaves and it does look a bit now hi Dennis you want to make sure the trunks protected you know sit in time you want to water probably once a week.

"Now at O'Hare fifty degrees. Midway reporting forty nine degrees, forty nine in Frankfurt and fifty at Chicago's lakefront. I'm Steve Bertrand in the WGN radio newsroom. These are the stories that matter on seven hundred twenty WGN. Was it? Good Super Bowl. Halftime show. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Didn't they do it? I think I think they did. Yeah. Still after twenty Steiner Dennis Ryan joins us right now. I always say at guru. And I hope that you you take that as a compliment. Yes. Housing creative consultant founder of many things. He's on the Twitter. If people wanna get you on the Twitter sporadically, I am. All right. Here's a quick question before we go into yesterday's at it used to be that they would debut the night of the Super Bowl, and that was very exciting. But now you can see them a week in advance most if not all of them why the change up what happened. It's just it's just budget. You know, when you're spending over five million dollars for thirty seconds. That's an awfully big thing. And if you have anything themed about football season's over game. So they have to amortize they have to break it down. And particularly if they're bringing celebrities, and I think I saw over two dozen versions of the NFL spot. Here's a lift here's a lift. Here's lefty recognize these people recognize him. And so it's just a way to build intriguing interest. And frankly, amortize the cost is it working. I would definitely does it. Definitely works. Yeah. How much does an ad go for like a base about sixty seconds or thirty seconds. It's thirty seconds. And what's interesting is they say five point three million. So if you wanna do Wendy Snyder thirty that's what it would cost. You now free Anheuser Busch who buys multiple spots during the game. They they do give them a discount and Coca Cola something new this year advertisements right before kickoff. Not during the game. Correct. Yes move. I think that's a brilliant move. It really is. I mean, Pepsi almost it might officially block them out of the broadcast. But all the everything's about anticipation with the Super Bowl once. It's actually there. You're like. Oh, yeah. Two teams. Yeah. Okay. Incredibly uneventful games. But the build up for it is is all the hype is so I think that's always a really intelligent by. There's a company called per silver a cleaning company, they had a fifteen second spot, which was actually a pretty good spot, very JAMES BOND. Ian spot right? But fifteen seconds you rarely if ever seen the Super Bowl how they pull that off. That's a really good question. I I was kinda surprised by that too. And they've been running that campaign for very long time as a European campaign, and you're exaggerate. It's a JAMES BOND takeoff. But a fifteen is that three million dollars because it's not exactly half still a premium. So I was I was surprised to see that by because with this being such a destination kind of platform for advertisers to cheapen it down to fifteen seems like you could be opening up the floodgates. Yes. Just a whole bunch of. That's a quality. Thanks. What was the biggest overlying thing that you saw a lot of yesterday. Was there something that really jumped out? I saw three things I saw classic Super Bowl ads. Like, you know, certainly the Alexa breakdown. Yeah. The Mercedes Benz voice activated thing and Audi with the kinder throwback to gladiator. And then there were the emotionally resonant ads. You know, there was a net. Verizon about the first that was awesome because it was so authentic. You could tell the guy was choked up. It shocked me that it was for Verizon like as I was watching it. I'm like, oh my God. This is so touching. And I'm starting to think what's this four is it to celebrate first responders, and I was kind of shocked when the Verizon logo kicked on. Well, if you look there is a super underneath it, it talks about they have done specific things to their network for clarity. So and they've been actually peddling that message for a while. So it was a little more legitimate or reach than some others. I thought Microsoft's adapted gaming thing was great house, really guy. Father choked up right there with him. I thought that was great. You know, the Google translate the idea that they got all that data that says the three most research translate phrases are thank you. How are you? And I love you. And that's that that gives you back in humanity. Yeah. So I thought that was the thing they're so sensitive. I'm just gonna quietly weep. The third one was kind of like, okay, let's make fun of creepy. Robots that there were a lot of robot. May I? Was that couldn't do what humans could do an upset the robot? Yeah. It was. Yeah. It was funny. Then you've been saying for years that what Madison Avenue needs to do is jump on Andy Warhol, we always laugh at you. But last night they did that. It's very strange what what's really strange so forty five seconds of it's from one thousand nine hundred eighty two art film. And what's interesting is at the time. He said, and I thought this was actually an interesting artistic point of view. The basically, I see the hamburger the Big Mac that the Walker that a billionaire eats in that a peasant eat says the exact same taste, and that was his kind of his point about the great, you know, kind of democratizing effectiveness products. But you know, you don't get that other spot. It was just like, wow. This is a really long road to a very small house puts catch up on his lap. Right. I like to that though. So is Burger King's message in there or actually the better way to phrase. This is what exactly is their message. Because what I got out of it is you can eat whatever way you choose. If you enjoy a Burger King you're going to enjoy it is that kind of message. That's the that's the message. We all walk away with what it really did is to win. He's pointing stop time. And you watched this guy, oddly, you know. No. Yeah. You're watching this Walker and waiting for something to happen. Nothing does. And then you gotta hashtag because you know, that's required by the FCC now. Hashtag at the end of spot. And it just made you pay attention. Yeah. No, it just take eat Andy's way or something like that. Which was vaguely creepy. But yeah, how many households in America or around the world had to explain to young children? Who that man was? That's exactly it. But you know, what that's not who were. It's not a kids forum. Yeah. It really is the classic mass merchandising mask on interesting, dude. So whether or not you was I'm sure kids were like who's this guy? Yeah. Well, and it was oddly compelling. It's just an absolute zig zagging only one added made me laugh out loud. And that was the Jason Bateman ad that was the one that made me laugh out loud. The best thing is that's a Jason Bateman. Add something about hun Hyundai assurance. Right. The Jason Bateman had which because it's Jason Bateman. Just his smacks. The whole way through until he finds said Hundai going up by that at all which is terrible because he's so good at all. Oh, yeah. It was funny. He's tremendous. So for people who did not see that ad what they were selling was. I mean, it was essentially they were selling Hyundai. But they were also selling things that are not going. Well, and how Hyundai is said going up. Exactly, I mean because the car buying experience. Yes. Misery for all of us. And they but the list of of the litany of things that are worse than car. Buying was actually really wonderful. Apparently it really irritated the vegan community center and the Budweiser ads irritated the corn growing community. Yeah. I can see where that would be. I was thinking of orients Samuelson because you know, a corn syrup is keeping farmers alive. It was interesting to me that Miller lite has it and Coors light has it. They also have the taste in my opinion. I'm not a Bud Light lover. Yup. But that was very effective. I thought it's really interesting. The the corn syrup argument because high fructose corn syrup is such a. Oh, my God is poison for. There's just so much noise around it. But what was I was corn syrup is essentially a sugar and sugar turns to alcohol, so if you add sugar in the brewing process, you shorten the brewing process added it's not gonna taste like corn syrup. If it does it as a modest taste influenced talking cores like Bud Light Miller lite. I don't think anyone sitting right shaving, the taste that closely, but it's just to PC has long process. And what was interesting is. Now, Bud Light. Budweiser Anheuser Busch has irritated. The corn growers ADM cargo not big fans, and I just saw tweeden my friend of mine who works at Miller advertising. It's like, well, we're going to the mattresses because they're just picking a fight really odd. Yeah. Yeah. They did. They took some shots at their competitors. But in your you're the number one beer by decent margins. Lead. That surprises me that it took a long time to pass Miller light. It took him almost leading years because more like I the most. But they've been ahead. Head of them for a couple of almost normally Dennis the person or the group that would take their shadows. Whoever's in second third or fourth Elliot's whoever's in I challenge challenger brand. Exact Dennis Ryan is here. We're talking about yesterday's Super Bowl ads. If you want to jump in three one to nine hundred seventy two hundred twenty WGN, but wait I have an ad for you that you'll remember for a long long time. Sleeping at five star quality. They asked Jason Bateman to say this. And he said, no matter care. Thank you. I love sleeping and five star hotel quality sheets. And now, I can get the same feeling right there in my home with Brooklyn and sheets Brooklyn and sheets were named the winner of the best of online betting and a category by good housekeeping. They have rave reviews from business insider from apartment therapy for men's health Brooklyn and makes luxury sheets, but without the luxury markup Brooklyn and was the very first direct to consumer bedding company. They worked directly with manufacturers and with customers. There are no middleman, my Brooklyn and sheets are by far the best most.

"Spill off. It's decided we're talking about yesterday's game. Can I Super Bowl in this bulls over I don't know if they won't sue us after the game's over right us unless we're making money from it. What did you think were you entertained were you board a texture said that big boy could've taken off his coat and sold it and fed hundred families. It's possible. I guess Bill Belichick came close to smiling twice not once. But twice. I did. Yeah. It was closed because I just was wondering if you would Iran he is just like grumpy old man seems a little unhappy isn't he even they're happy circumstances. I don't get it. I don't know. Why he so disgruntled all the time Tom Brady who everybody says is cocky, I didn't see any cockiness when the game was over. He was he was very. Jovial? But he was kinda he was spreading the wealth. He was hugging everybody. They couldn't interview them for like five minutes after the game because he just kept hugging people at random. But there was very little cockiness if any how because he's one at how many times how exciting could this be a lot? I think it's got still be exciting or he would retire. I don't know. What would be in it for him to keep doing it? If it wasn't still exciting for them. Three hundred thousand nine hundred seventy two hundred what were your thoughts on the game will talk to Nick. Hey, neck, filling, Wendy, how are you? Sorry. I wasn't ready built either. Hi. How you doing? What'd you think? I think the NFL jumped the shark yesterday. Well for one Adam LeVine couldn't look more disinterested. I mean, they, you know, it's just I think it's almost become too big with the like you said earlier Bill, I think expectations for what entertainment should be. I mean, if it doesn't blow your head off. You know, it's not good enough. So maybe they ought to just take, you know, take the foot off the gas a little bit make it more. You know, just make the game. Make it a few things. I mean, there's just this this hype about the Super Bowl that you know, it just doesn't seem like you can you can you know, you can fulfill it anymore with people. There's there's such a great expectation. Would you say realistically, maybe one out of every four five six or seven games really live up to the hype that they really are the best game of the year. It's it's very hard to pull that off. I mean, it comes down to the game, obviously. And that was a game. I mean that was just a you know, like almost a preseason. You know, not while the defense was great. But people have scoring there was no scoring, and you know. Guys that you thought were gonna play. Well, didn't even show up. I mean, it just it just took the air out of the blue. When you when you you build up a whole two weeks right from the playoffs and championship games that you hear this hype about these two teams hats off to the to the patriots. I find him. You know, just you know, what I mean? Like, I guess we're from Chicago Bulls won six championships. And we loved it and everybody else hated it. So it's the same thing there. But I just the halftime thing. They've just got Tonet down. There's just just his expectation. Plus, it could have been down even more that was pretty toned down. Yeah. Well, all the bands that didn't wanna play there to windy. I mean in protest up. So they might have been able to get you know, maroon five is a holiday bowl not the Super Bowl. I mean, they're not just start much Disney parade, Nick if they came to you and said, Nick, it's up to you next year you picked the band. We'll put them in the halftime. Would you throw in there? Well, I mean hard driving rock and roll that kind of thing, maybe a stroke. I was thinking, where's where's a good? Strong country band you need a band nickelsville Soldier Field. Not the United Center, you need people. You know, that that everybody jumps out of their seat to listen to with with a, you know, large catalog ah music, and unfortunately, all falls down to these. You know, the Rolling Stones Bruce Springsteen, you know, that kind of thing where people say, okay, I've got some prince everybody kept referring to the prince halftime that we had for the bears Super Bowl. Dow Becky Miami. That was great. Yeah. But let's not forget, I mean, there are a lot of folks that were offered this and and turned it down because of capper Nick, I'm sure beyond to put on a good show other people that might have been asked. So there was a real issue here. And I don't know if this is a career killer for maroon five, I mean, if you ask Adam LeVine this morning, should he have done it or not. I bet you he says he probably wish he hadn't done. It. Really interesting. Has there been anything positive said about him? Nope. It I think you know that going in. I think you know, automatically just by virtue of being the halftime show. People are gonna reputa-. A shreds. There's almost nothing you can do. Survived being the butt of jokes for the next six weeks. You know, whatever it takes until this goes away. There's there's a great somebody put together a picture of him with his shirt off in California. Then he's got a guy, you know, like about three hundred pounds, and he just got Illinois with a beer in his hand. It's going around the weapon. Thank you very much for calling. We appreciate it. Adam LeVine did put something out on insta-. We thank the universe for this opportunity to play on the world's biggest stage. We thank our fans for making our dreams possible. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better. He also shared this. This list of words, forgive embrace. Inspired unify stand kneel overcome. Oh, interesting. Is that a word jumble? What do we do? It. Those were overcome a pretty interesting to come stand kneel and overcome. Yeah. There's more up there to put a whole list inhale exhale. Okay. Cool. Much like these me awards is having a hard time getting a host. It's the same thing with the halftime show at Super Bowl. There was a time where if you got one of those things what better feather in your cap. Could you have been doing the halftime show the Super Bowl or hosting the Academy Awards? But now, I think people are savvy to the fact that just by just by saying, you'll do it. You're opening up the floodgates criticism. And it's because all we do is complain who cares, man. It was the pop band and they played some of their song. I know but watch like the day after the Academy Awards, and it it happens every year people go I watched it gave out a bunch of awards and stuff. The guys. I mean, usually that halftime show is a spectacle. There's pyrotechnics not as it was kind of. You know, what Wendy if there had been there like, why do people have fireworks? I guess I guess when we're never happy. So so Bill when you and I were talking in one of the ways, you know, he's talked earlier caller said, gee, jumped the shark too much. So it got me thinking about we were talking about the two weeks between the conference championships and the Super Bowl. Yes. And so I looked it up and apparently the two week break started with Super Bowl one. But there have been seven games seven times when there was only one week between the two and was the last one Steve I want to say about fifteen years ago ten or fifteen years ago. It was about the last says the last one was two thousand three when the buccaneers played the raiders. Yeah. Because everybody was going. Well, you can't really hype the game in a week. But it's the Super Bowl it it. It comes pre hyped. You know, exactly I mean, you don't need to send out flyers. You don't need to put up banners saying he'll be the Super Bowl people know that blimp would have time to get there. They still played. I know there's no question about it. So what do they do? Steve. Is there anything that? You can think of. I mean, it's so funny that during the game now, I look at I don't look at Twitter and stuff like that. But my wife kept reading me tweets from people. But every aspect of the game, everyone has a voice now. So we all think we need to use it about everything. Yeah. I would turn off the Twitter machine. Yeah. Close the internet. They should just close. Down for a couple of weeks happens on radio to the next day. And it's just so tiring gap has a question for us. Why does everybody feel they have to be a critic just sit back enjoy the entertainment for what it was. You know, everybody was criticizing him. Or I heard you and whatever else is they're criticizing the fact that he took his shirt off. If he didn't take a shirt off. They would've said he always picks up. Why didn't you take your shirt off dizzy hiding something? You know? I mean, come on give the guy a break. He did the best. He could. I like, I I, you know, he also he had a kind of do things a little differently because he was with that other group that hip hop thing, which I don't like or whatever they are clippers. I I know what what the whoever. So you kind of had to adapt with that guy. I mean, you know, it just all it is is a little entertainment. It'd be tween to have the football bad. Kanthi? You're absolutely right. And if you don't like it, you can go put the Weiner wraps and like I did. That was the best part of my day. Can I read you a quick tweet there? I have pages and pages and pages of negative tweets about maroon five performance, but this is my favorite one because I don't understand it. Adam LeVine, looks like human Hollister Cologne. What does that mean? It's funny. But I have no idea what it means Santa person. Hollister Cologne is a brand of Cologne. But are they just saying? Stale is that what they're saying? I Don I have no idea what it means. But look at all these pages and pages of people who ripped him to shreds immediately. He just he came out on stage people enough of this house. There is also Cal in southern California. And all that. So that's what. All right. Let's do that. We'll take a break. We'll get you some news. And then Dennis Ryan will be by. And we will analyze the Super Bowl commercials. Did they work were there any standouts? We'll find out next. It's one WGN Chicago.

"Time. It seems birthday everybody. It's the Steve Bertrand birthday show. Actually, it's my birthday Bill. But thank you. It's not isn't. It was yesterday rights to you. Well, we were working yesterday. So it's today. It's over. It's still the eldest. For sure. The oldest. Yeah. A week. When I am right away. It turns the number. I just want you to know. You're the oldest of the three house, Mary, you're. Dave. So be quiet. Most people say older than dirt. But now. That's the new phrase. All right. Let's let's get it out of the way. You did not enjoy yourself during yesterday's Super Bowl festivities are everybody. It was the most boring game the commercials weren't that. Great. And I told you maroon five suck on there. He was off your turn. I enjoyed all three. I like the commercials. I like the game. I like maroon five I like Gladys Knight. She was fine. But she was only on for the one saw. She was only on for two minutes. Yeah. Great. She did look great looked great sounded great where the pips. Did. We find out she she's worthless. Hitless now peps, but the girls like Mary, and Jerry or whoever saying before they were awesome. Nice job. Most people were they I've never even seen. The I don't know who they are recording stars came out of nowhere. Big voice guy was really big voice wasn't. He. The announcer. Yeah. No. He was good. I was disappointed that the big boy that was featured was not the big boy from the hamburger chain. I was waiting to see him. I love his word big boy. Yeah. Big boy, you'd think he'd at least come out with a tray burgers to start whipping people that motivates that would have been a show stopper. Outfit or Andy Warhol like he did in the commercial. Thing that was very strange Dennis Ryan will be by. We'll talk about this Super Bowl ads and just a little bit. There were there were some interesting moments there. I'm not a fan of maroon five so I'm not surprised they were little animal. Wien low pitchy. I gotta tell you SpongeBob. The best part of it. And Squidward, of course, by wife said how long before people start criticizing Adam LeVine and maroon five and I said, well, it will take about two minutes three minutes. I swear to you as he was being introduced Steve curl introduced him in a in a taped segment now, here's maroon five Terry's looking at her phone, this sucks. This is awful people on Twitter just destroying him just for coming out on stage. That's all he didn't even sing yet. Walked out on stage. Well, it's the whole political atmosphere of the kneeling and stuff because that's why I'm thinking remember when they announced who was doing it. Maybe not you. But most of us were like maroon five I don't know if they could get anybody else to do it. I guess I know what people are expecting though, they did they did their heads. I'm really tired of people. There's just this automatic complaints. Yes, agrees. Steve, you know, what I had? I actually had a Super Bowl party last night with friends, and and what we're people. How are people reacting wasn't at your birthday party? Oh, really? Paused. Yeah. Okay. Do it because it was my birthday. Super Bowl because it was the birth. All don't like Super Bowl parties because no one watches the game. Yeah. I saw less of the game yesterday that I've ever seen a, but I had a wonderful time with right guess. So I really I mean, we had a wonderful time. But we're people criticizing immediately. But people just this matter what Trump's thinking of it this morning if you're an act. Yeah. You know, you just gotta know that's gonna come Friday. The benefit must be right. There's something has happened to people. Now, we're just by nature of being human beings were not satisfied automatically just as soon as they announced the name. Maroon five everybody went out that's going to be awful. But that wasn't a good choice in my opinion. But tell me who's better that has not done it already. Bob Seeger seizure. My daughter went to a party, and she went to a party because they were all getting together to watch. Maroon five. Yeah. So valid they sell a lot of records. The songs were hits. It's not like they pulled out their most obscure. Yeah. Yes. And they left some off there were other hits. They had that they didn't even get to. So the structure of the show is they don't do entire songs. They just do you know the middle of every song. So you get that you get the of every song. I don't know. I don't know what people are expecting to have happened. He was a little pitchy. I gotta be honest with you. And as a judge for the voice that was happy because he was singing live in the past. They haven't always sing live in the past spend them lip synching. Sometimes, you know, but they sing live at concerts. Oh, yeah. I know but for the Super Bowl in the past some of the acts of but he. Yeah. Well, the thing on key you'd hope. Yeah. I know. But this is boring, and we are all taken bats wines. Are you gonna take his shirt off? Because we knew it was going to happen. Did ticket shirt, you know. Yep. And that also angered people because they go Huckabee Janet Jackson. All hell breaks loose. But when Adam LeVine takes his shirt off everything's okay. Key meant to take a shirt off. She didn't. Which is why I feel like hers was an accident. Justin Timberlake had ripped off. If he just comes in you've registered up. Years after the whole, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake. You have said for years that during the halftime show, Justin Timberlake should just come out. Rip somebody's shirt and leave not perform. He should do whatever year. That would be great. What they do that they'd have to pay a million dollars. Just. I know why everybody was bashing Adam LeVine and maroon five if they are fans, I'm not a fan. So you knew I was going to bash them. I think the real core fans were satisfied. She was in LA. So I called her right? When he started just to bother her dad dad, I'm trying to watch this. You just wanted to hear say happy birthday daddy as she forgot oh said, she didn't forget Wien dad's birthday. But this is such a I heard from both my kids yesterday within about ten minutes which prompted to Sharon, did you tell them. Did she they would have remembered? They would remember. All right. Let's do this. We'll take a break. And then more discussion about yesterday's game. What did you think? Did you enjoy the game? Did you enjoy the halftime show? Did you enjoy the commercials? Did you enjoy Steve's birthday? We went to nine hundred seventy two hundred twenty WGN..

"They did it at home and did it against Green Bay. They got the disco ball out celebrating at at the end of the game. So this then this is the game. I look at ensure Chicago wants the game. They why they want the game. They'd like to move up a seat if they could they want it. They don't need it. And I think the fact that they don't need it is the reason that I'm going to take a team that playing pretty well right down the forty Niners. Plus the four first of all you got the plus four and you did the right. Thing. So sometimes you have to look at a number and go, oh, I could have had four and a half. Yeah. But the thing is is you did the right thing betting upfront. You given the smart money is gonna come in on San Francisco on this play and the line may end up down at three and a half by Sunday. But but you what you what you've done by taking a four instead of a four and a half is all you've cost yourself as a possible tie. Yeah. But you haven't cost yourself a wager. You don't you can't lose it off that line. Moves. It lands on for you pushed now the four and a half would have won. But to to make money bottom line after a whole season. You wanna make sure your void the bad spots as much as you. You you capture the good one. So in this case buying the four if you like the forty Niners was the right thing to do even if it doesn't look like it's the right spread right now because it was better to guard against going from three and a half or four point final could've cost you a win versus a loss as opposed to going to four and a half. It's can only cost you a win versus a tie true. So so that's all good now. As far as the forty Niners are concerned. How did we get in these spots? They're gonna do it. Again. Are they gonna close out the season with four straight wins? If they do like last year when they closed with five straight wins. They'll they'll have a bad season again next year, the overvalued again. Well, we're valued. And and we set the beginning of this year. They couldn't win more than six games because they won six games last year, and they won their last five games. And they didn't go to the playoffs. And the formulas is a team that wins three or more games to close out of season and doesn't make the playoffs will win less games than they won that season the next year and the forty Niners here, they are they're doing it. And if they win four again, and they go out, and and they catch the bear is the perfect time. You know, they they caught Seattle at a perfect time coming off a big win and Kansas City the next week after they'd lost forty three to sixteen boom. They caught him. You know, they they caught Denver at a perfect time second week out on the road beating the Cincinnati the week before and canine thinking, hey, we're going. The playoffs. Whoops that didn't work. And now they catch the bears on the other side of them having the you know, as you say the disco ball out in the in the locker room with a rookie head coach that and not only the bears win the NFC north division this year. This is after five straight four straight years of being in last place. So the bears, you know, it's one of those things that you know, that they'll be saying on the plane coming in and save some of that champagne for after the game. Talking to Dennis Ryan Hamilton some NFL picks. The end of the year is kind of kind of tricky because it's almost like college ball games where you gotta decide that you've kind of talked about here is who's motivated who needs it more who's packed in. And I I know maybe for as much as you like the chargers, you have not liked the raiders all year long. But this could be their final game in Oakland. Denver the last couple of weeks is not look good. I think they've quit on Vance. Joseph and their three point favorites going into Oakland. What do you think? Well, I heard you earlier, and your rationale is so flawed. It's embarrassing. It sounds like harmony. That's right. She's wonderful. Wonderful. The problem here. If winning the last game in Oakland was a ticket home then in nineteen eighty one. They would have beaten the Chicago Bears in their last game in Oakland before they moved to Los Angeles. And they got beat twenty three to six as a favorite. And so I don't think that's the ticket. And where are they gonna play next year? Do do you have the inside track or whether they're gonna play next year? They're talking AT and T park where the giants. It's crazy. I really don't know what a minute. Let me give it say. The Oakland Raiders are playing San Francisco and the San Francisco for now. And the cats are playing New Jersey, you know, who's playing where they're supposed to be. I don't know nobody that can happen that you can't go AT and T. That's that's just such a bad idea. I agree. That's a bad idea. You just can't lose gotta I it's just it's it's appalling to me that that would be the consideration. You know, I think that, you know, close to me out here as DVD's open. That's a that's a little St.. That might work for him that by the way might I don't know who's going to the games next year. No, no that you know. And and didn't Mark Davis offered a return any season ticket money for people that didn't want to go the games. I don't think he's gonna repeat that offer this year. Now, probably not. Not lose a ton. So would you take the Broncos there? Yeah. So I don't want the Broncos anybody. I don't want the Broncos either just saying, it's bad rationale. You know that they're gonna they're gonna play one for the Oakland fans and do. Well, I don't think it's a factor. So no play then. No. Bad teams. See I am I school John to his his. Nothing nothing. We gotta run gotta ask you this one. Because I I like I like the Texans over the the eagles. I think everyone is getting caught up into the foles magic. And here they come. And I think the eagles the Rams lost that game on Monday more than the eagles won that game. If that makes any sense to Danny, buddy. And the Texans have finally won me over. I mean, I I was hesitant because they're a team that seems to have a going on. And they don't it's going to be their season. Then it's not here. They come. They don't but they've been playing really well Watson's playing well Hopkins the best wide receiver in football, at least one of the handful. Best defense is playing well, and I just people are getting caught up in the whole eagles. Oh, they did last year. They're going to do it again. They're not gonna do it again. I don't think they're going to do it again. I think the Texans are are pretty good football team. And they don't have to win. But I'm I'm sure they would like to have a by and not have to go to FOX round to if they make it that far. Yeah. Let's let's all get together. The last place. Lightning struck and say right here right here. This is where it's going to happen again. I'm sure I feel it. You know, it's not going to happen for the eagles. There's no there's no second lightning struck here. As you pointed out Tom didn't win last Sunday night. The Rams lost it the Ramjet caught in that that trap of. Easy wins supposedly coming off a loss. That's a whole. And now you've got a team. That's one of the last eleven games. They're ten and four on the season. They got a shot to wrap up one of the opening week buys and and last year was Philadelphia Adelphia's year. This year is Houston's here and Philadelphia is going to be favored seven and seventeen at home is going to be favored over a team. That's one of the last eleven now, this is where you look at it spread and go. Well, what's driving that? Well, it's the public because not only are the eagles favor. They opened a two and a half points. The line went down to one and a half in some spots. Even while the public is betting on Filadelfia, which means smart money's on on on Houston before. I love this place. This will be a play on Sunday in Houston, Texas. We'll be a play for us on Sunday. And it will be a play for me on Saturday. Maybe a play for me on Friday. It was a flavor me on Tuesday. Very good. Very good. Hey, man, it's been so much fun. We're going to be off the next week or two. So we'll catch up with you.
