So it's great that you're able to use humor and to be able to help people so let's maybe start from the beginning a little bit and just talk a little bit about your own journey. And how did you get started in comedy where all i was in fourth grade joke and students laughed and more importantly the teacher was hysterical. And i thought. I'm going to be a comedian. Boeing, Can They Come Back?

"Course our Boeing shares which are down slightly down about seven tenths of a percent course the stock well off the ties from earlier this year when it was up around four forty and a big part of that is really had to do with this idea of how points of winds back not only the certification for at seven thirty seven macs are really of winning back the trust the trust of the public the trust regulators the trust of investors it's a big deal and it's really tough for that to happen when it seems like every day there's either a new batch of information in this case there's a story on the Bloomberg by eleven the talks about a new batch of messages that employees talking about the development of the seven thirty seven MAX specifically these were turned over apparently to regulators on Monday but just when you think maybe you you know gotten to the last of something new coming out in terms of this story there's another one that comes out I think about in the last week alone or last two weeks alone in terms of suspending production of the seven thirty seven Max that's going to happen it right in the new year then of course you got the firing of the company's me look Mister Muhlenberg the CEO and then bringing in a new CEO and so there's a lot of change and Boeing there's a story in the magazine this week they just talk about Boeing is known for being the company that created checklist right and four engineers talking with pilots and getting things right not getting things wrong so this is really a story about what's going on at the company culture can they get it back on track and can they get the faith of regulators and also customers yeah and I you know I covered up Boeing and a lot of its can competitors and suppliers years ago and the relationship with the FAA is paramount because you're creating a product that essentially goes no where unless you have the FAA's blessing and continue blessing I mean there's so many checks along the way even want these products on the market and Boeing obviously trying to get a handle on that let's begin reading K. as his team leader of the Americas industrial and aerospace team at Bloomberg news has been covering he and the team of in covering the Boeing story from day to day he joins us on the phone from Dallas so Brandon put into perspective but we haven't I don't believe seen these messages but tell us a little bit actually guess we don't have them yet hopefully we'll get to him but I do think what's interesting is you know okay Brendan is here thank you know technology up Brandon come on in the Boeing story and tell us about this latest new batch of messages from Boeing employees on the development of the seven thirty seven Max what do we know so far we haven't actually seen these messages are have way well that's right we have not seen the messages we know a little bit about that we know that a congressional aide described them as at times very disturbing and we know that some of the messages apparently the raise questions about Boeing employees expressing concern about the the the company's commitment to safety and there are apparently other messages that raise questions about different employees expressing worries that regulators or or or other actors could disrupt production plants so bring that in addition to the content that's in that's in these messages the other issue here seems to be just simply the disclosure as well I mean we had a previous batch of messages which we now know weren't turned over to the FAA in a in a fashion that the F. eight thinks they should have been what is the relationship now between Boeing and the FAA well but Boeing statement on Monday when they announced the departure of Dennis MA emergency EO very clearly said that the relationship with the FAA is is in need of a of a major reset and and I think we can we can draw the conclusion that after the last couple months in which the company and the regulator were diverging and their views about when the Max could could come back into service that that really because a lot of damage and it'll be sort of job why and for the new CEO David Calhoun to try to reset that relationship and and and repair some of what's been lost I think it was worrisome to is that it was the second time that the that Boeing had delayed turning over to the FAA some sensitive messages related to the development of the seven thirty seven MAX I've got to believe that you know Mr Calhoun has come in and said alright guys give me all the information that we need to to turn over to relate regulators because he's got a want to fix this as soon as possible I think that a reasonable interpretation but we don't know for sure yet certainly was earlier batch of messages the when they came out in October we do know that the FAA was very disappointed and Boeing that the message it hadn't been turned over earlier the company did share the messages earlier in twenty nineteen with justice department investigators but not with the regulator and we don't know for sure what's that what the backdrop is of the current batch and why Boeing is disclosing them now but certainly I think it's a it's it's it's a fair gas that that the new boss might want to try to get everything out in the open as he tries to be is men and men in this relationship well okay new boss who who actually has been taken over yet obviously there's a little bit of a lack year between other Alcina Mullen Burke and Calhoun actually coming in and sitting down at that desk once he's there do we have any sense here that the way he's going to do things Brandon is going to be incredibly different than the way mon Burke to things that's a really big question mark at the moment you know David Calhoun is new to the Boeing executive ranks he is not at all new to the company he's been on the board for a decade he was lead director at the time of both crashes of the of the Max he took over as chairman in October he's intimately involved with the entire crisis response that Boeing it had and it's not at all clear in what ways if any help differentiate himself from Dennis Miller Bergen terms of its actions although I do think that that Boeing made pretty clear this week that that mo embrace ties with the FAA were badly frayed and it's possible that Calhoun could come in and at least at least start to start to sort of differentiate himself from and Burke in terms of smoothing over this relationship with with with the chief regulator all right we're gonna leave it on that note Brandon thank you so much for in in cases team leader of the Americas industrial aerospace that team here at Bloomberg news joining us on the phone from Dallas and just looking at Boeing shares just down about eight tenths of a percent here at three thirty thirty nine I share your listening to a special edition of Bloomberg businessweek Carol master along with

"I. It's such an astute observation that I'm surprised it didn't come from you but I heard somebody or a medium or one of these things that floats your life now. Somebody saying California's now's estate where they'll give you a syringe. But they'll take your your plastic Straw and I think that's that's condensed down about his beautifully and succinctly as one can we're talking to our friend Doug Saunders how's how's your old mandal is great. He's good restaurants back there. There are yeah. I I always loved that place in Georgetown near lower lower part of Georgetown where you go up one block in and there's an Italian place up there on the right off that main Dragon Georgetown. I can't remember remember the name but it's good killer attack brothers in Alexandria out in the BURBS. All right. Well listen. Listen you've always been a good friend US I think and I'm glad you're happy back there and you have a Mary Christmas Debra Saunders. Well of course I will Dennis and I wish you the same Thanks Not Christian normally no nothing last. Twenty twenty okay later daffy that were saunders sweet woman and Saunders I think the Italian she's got hit Jenner Giddy up with the trump but I don't think she wants him gone now obviously he's one of those people. Everybody knows about the risks of driving drunk. Obviously you can get in a crash. People get hurt people get killed but let's take a moment. The look at some surprising statistics almost twenty nine people in the United States. Die Every day in alcohol impaired vehicle crashes. That's it's one person every fifty five minutes. Even though drunk driving fatalities have fallen by a third. The last decades drunk driving crashes still claim more than ten thousand lives each year. Many people were unaware that driving while high could be just as dangerous in two thousand fifteen forty two percent enough drivers killed in crashes tested positive for drugs not so harmless after all is and get this from two thousand seven to two thousand fifteen marijuana use among drivers killed in crashes doubled. The truth is driving while high is deadly. So stop kidding yourself. If you're impaired from alcohol or drugs drugs don't get behind the wheel if you feel different you drive different drive high and get a Dui drive sober or get pulled over you know the thing that is starting to fall on deaf ears for me though people. How many times do I have to hear people if you bring up any success he has? There's a Coterie Odori people who meet their first answer. Anything trump is. I wish he'd stop tweeting. And you think Jeez. I don't know they going to do that for eight years. He's not gonNA stop tweeted. I I always say I wish tweet Moore. I wish he wouldn't come into the oval just stayed in bed in a full suit. I want up to have some day corner tweet. Twenty four he should tweet twenty four seven just for a week just to really there is a there is a day. I think last week where the coverage was that he tweeted one hundred times. And I'm like that doesn't it doesn't really sound like that much. I mean after I see the New Star Wars movie. I'M GONNA probably tweet at least two hundred times it. You know. It's IT'S A it's interesting about tweeting is. I've had days where I was writing a special and I wanted to try a lot of jokes at and then that would lead you just joking in the moment about something or I live tweeden event or something and there have been days where I put up maybe twenty to thirty dirty things down and at the end of them. I did feel dissipated or down on myself. In some way there's something about the The neediness Nina's and I'm not saying for other people. That's their business. Yeah but for me. I got a little depressed and I thought cheese. It must be like Pavlov's dog. Here's something when he gets the corn kernel instead of the electric shock. When you but when you get around forty corn kernels in new and you feel bloated from the maze? I think it was an Improv troupe. Called bloated from the maze. But I couldn't tweet as much as he does but I think he digs it. I look at trump and I go. Why would you think I think like you on any given subject? He's completely different than you. He's Rhino Skin Isn't that funny that You know he has to have rhino skin to protect himself so from the rhinos. Republicans and names only because he's got a lot of hateful people. I literally cannot Pierce. He's like that triceratops I Sara. Tops did fired you know stink pellets out of its horn and they've Hercules. I think that reference as an armor plated dinosaur I thought my God is strength. Must be the ability to just walk through the walls of Fort Knox and no it was flicking bogeys out of his horn. That was his whole thing. Yeah no I think that it Just showed how multifaceted the Hercules were you know. Let me ask you this. Just celebrity death match okay stone from the Hercules versus Benjamin Grimm. Well I think Ben Grimm smarter than them so I think he'll be able to you know he'll he'll bring added liberal. Yeah he's also I mean he's big four play for the blind check Aleisha for him to beat the Shit on somebody. But here's the beauty of marvel that they were somehow able to have amazingly powerful strong other worldly characters and yet I can tell you as somebody who is immersed in that. When I was young there was is never any doubt the brilliance of making the hulk stronger than everything of course? But I mean there's no doubt in your mind you know you can do that with there's something about the unattainable in both the DC universe in the Marvel Universe with Superman obviously but on the other side not another planet planets. Some sort of radiation thing gone wrong but you never questioned that the hall could beat the Shit Out of anybody including I think in Ben fought wants to and the thing about the the thing is that he has a finite amount of strength and the hulk the angrier. He gets the stronger he gets so if he were to start to lose a fight then he's going to actually get stronger all right but let me take this now. We go to the next step. Let's go interconference here. Talk though right. Yeah Well it depends does Does the hulk put on a You know like a pair of Kryptonite brass knuckles and punch him in the face because to begin again with and he would note that so now forget forget ad on now. I'm talking about just raw. straint is it's has. It's something to do with superman getting in I earn Langdon hard-drive Template Superman and you know I don't follow him to the degree Seinfeld doesn't know Jerry's you'd Superman Superman fem from Superman is in fact out of every character invented ever composed the the one absolutely invulnerable one deal kryptonite out of the equation. Well if you take Kryptonite under the tonight I you know it's it's a different. I'm talking about if they started punching each other Hawk and I can see Superman eventually. Raising up bradberry. Type Bruce on hawk. Yeah but hope Superman can just be hit. If there's no KRYPTONITE around Ad Infinitum. He doesn't feel one thing right. Yeah but you have to remember. He's never hurt but she's always remember Hulk Smash all right. That's what it ultimately comes to. You and I don't know that Lindsey has ever been in a room with With the man and been more repulsed by the amount of knowledge that I'm sharing with you on this topic. that this can be hurt right. He can yeah but really superman cannot be hurt just his just his heart you know. Just just come clean with me. He hoped could throw his biggest. Like Harry. Houdini is to challenge people to sucker punch him and his APSO type. And there's some word like what did him in some people think it's banana peel or something and other people say it's him in in the upper hanging upside down in the water but I think what did Harry Houdini in somebody the sucker punch when he wasn't quite ready and it gets sepsis or something. That's that's it happened so superman could do that consumer. Now leave this after this. I just want to try to get on record without Glib Rejoinder Superman beats talk. Hawk canfield pay all can feel pain but You will not get me on record saying that Superman can beat someone. Oh look at that. That's the difference Eh Before saying hall could be eventually knocked. Superman unconscious I think so. I Don I don't think he would kill him but I do think he could just bludgeoned him look. You gotTA bring the Kryptonite back into it. Batman essentially beat him in a in a big screen movie in the last five years Superman because of the Kryptonite so if Batman can beat him through trickery I feel like the hulk can beat him with brute force. Let us know what you think. Leave us a message six five. Nine rant doc Bruce Bruce Banner belted by Gamma Rays turns into the whole forgotten about the last line Before are we go. I did want to get back in on the Sandler thing because Sandler's films says antler versus Hulk Sandler absolutely you. Yeah come on his Cajun man and Awkward Sandler early as one KRYPTONITE opening opposite smarter. Well so that's the that's the interesting interesting. Point of view because Sampler if you look at this list that I have from business insider he is forty ninth In terms of highest grossing movies of May a two point. Eight to five billion dollars which is incredible but You have So much more. The highest grossing is Samuel Jack Asset. Well I- It alternates between Sam Jackson and Harrison Ford. Because Sam Jackson has not only star wars. He also has the marvel movies now but go done that list and see if you see anybody else. That's in the equivalent of like atoms. Not Franchises I I know people in that you could say Mark Hamill's bigger than I am talking about is between one and forty ninety. See any name where it's essentially on their back completely non the mythos of no because I think that that. Yeah this is just the total grosses. I'M GONNA assume the PAYCHECK that sandler gets from one performing producing and everything else. I think he probably makes more money off of his. I think there's only only one guy who might be an I'd love to see Harrison's films outside the Star Wars and in well you can't do that but even with the start. You can't do that. You see what I'm saying that those are star wars films. Those are Indiana Jones films. Blade runner he might give him those because He is in the Anna John's but I'd be interested to see Harrison Ford's total with the Indiana Jones films versus Adams. Total and keep in mind. That Adams is in no franchises. Once you put star wars in its curve. Buster say enforce great. You know the whole the whole curves wreck for the room but I I really. I'd love to hear somebody if you can figure it out over the weekend. I know they're like bill. James like sabermetrics about film grosses..

"Can I tell you something I usually think. DC Is a bit of an important trifle. In a way I think it's it's the most consequential inconsequential in the world. A lot of bullshit back there but I do think Wednesday is going to be a horrible day for this country. I think the template of what you I think it's been it'll be changed. I think the only thing that might keep from repeating itself down the road as people like McConnell say. This isn't good for the country after it's been done to our candidate but I know Mark Levine's already saying impeach the next guy if it's a Democrat and it's just a bad bad Wednesday coming you know. I think so. Many people are going to be tuned out. It's amazing to me how little people seem to be other than those of US inside this Washington Washington bubble. I think a lot of people are not paying a lot of attention they see. This is a partisan issue controversy on both sides. It's where all you know. We know all the Democrats are going to vote to impeach or not Democrats or I guess there's there might be one or two Democrats who don't we know that. Republicans are all going to vote against impeachment and It's it just goes to show how you basically have to choose a side now. I think people feel and just go all the way with it get rid of any idea of arguing nuance or even considering the other side because we know that the that the other other Chemo beat you up so bad and that's where we are. Listen I I just ask this because I don't even know where you stand. I think we've talked in passing. I don't think a big fan of trump in certain ways but do you. Do you think the crux of that call. And that's I I believe me I don't follow it like Sean or anybody. I find it to disheartening. I can't believe that that was an impeachable offense your thoughts at a nutshell. So I'm the last time I was supposed to do your show. This was just after that that trend that transcript dropped and before the press conference and I read I read the transcript. Can I thought that what trump said was incredibly inappropriate and something that president shouldn't do because you don't ask the leader of another country to do your the opposition research for you but do I think it's an impeachable offense. No and I think that I think the other thing is we've been through over for all basically three years of this Russian investigation. I you know the Inspector General's report makes it pretty clear that this investigation continued when there were so many signs. It was bogus that this steele dossier was a sham that there was nothing to this and still an investigation investigation that they know in January. Twenty seventeen that. That steele was not telling the truth. When he about about the the the so-called dossier and they still went forward with it? And I just I at this point fail that It's not a good thing to have this kind of warfare going on with our president. God I I'm just trying to think of the President's in my adult lifetime And I'll I'll just say from well. Let's let's go from Kennedy on. I wasn't an adult but at least I was ten years old. I'm trying to think of anybody in that. That murderers row of presidents. It's in that time up till current day if I listened to their phone calls and had transcripts of them I especially think guys LBJ. And I think Oh my God Kale Jio Magin what went on on the phone in there about and that guy and this guy on Nixon with his nights Lewis quit Clinton patching up all the holes isn't that I mean would any president of stood up to the scrutiny including this benighted sainted Barack Obama if they had their phone calls being flipped out there. We'll.

Oh yes isn't that. The end result of an overly heated Ironically and overly heated heeded the cultural disagreement. I think at some point they would have to and my feeling is like I said I I think the planet wines a little right now or people wind for. I think it'll be here a long time but I really do ask the question and I'd like to hear somebody explain that to me from that side if if they are worried about overpopulation. If they're worried about naysayers and all that if there was nobody to to be on the planet even though they might disagree with the planet's health at any given moment if there was nobody here does a planet exist Christian if a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to hear. But I have to tell you find him more interesting that he'll go there. I find to be a little bit of smug fuck. But also kind of charming a way. I but her she can't go there. It's much she'd have to fold under facts. You know, when you insist you the smartest gallon the room and then somebody hits, you Phil spector. Chris Wallace Wallace sound of facts. She can. Apple. Yeah. I mean, I think right. Standing. All right. He did get a standing ovation. And I think what you're saying, at least for me as I can see why people look at him and go like, okay, like what he has to say Elizabeth Warren is a little harder to understand how people are like. Yeah, I'm all in on the only and she's a Christ. Like I said her shriek. And that was the point that, that Pete made was that he thinks that they miss out on speaking directly to millions of American voters. If they don't go on FOX, so he. With your house about somebody has, I can't vote for anybody who can be caught in still photos, looking like a nightmare. Thousand pictures of Pete Buddha judge that he gives. So little up as card player rounders, you know that. I don't think you'd catch many photos of him, even if you snapped incessantly in a moment, whereas with her, it always looks like a like Leo's mother-in-law, when he comes in late after get married and Goodfellow kind of people. She's a nightmare Hillary had that to you, couldn't you couldn't catch a normal picture of her again. Jim nonvoting for disagree with him. I think she should step in at eight months. If somebody's whacking a kid, I don't think that happens every day, but I've seen some studies on it, where windows Don to maybe eight thousand a year in late term abortions, that aren't of rape, and incest, and rape, incest, abortions. I think should happen earlier in the game but at eight months or seven months, I even guessing have to read more. I wouldn't let it happen. Yeah, I wouldn't. I find that weird. I think that at that point when somebody says, oh, I felt kick. And then a couple of months after that, when they can ascribe the word the verb kick to it that they're sticking vacuum in. I think that's weird. I think that's beyond weird. I think that that's murder. Yeah. I mean, I think you know my thoughts on it. I was like, well, I'm gonna largely stay out of it because on a man. I'm very choice. But, but then, of course, the first time that, you know, when we first heard Felix heartbeat, and he, I don't even know how many months in that was like, oh, wait. I understand the I understood the argument, least is just like oh, yeah. No, he's, he's thing down there Christian. I do think it's a serious step that the. Once they are heartbeat that makes it a whole different game, but they can do it because it's not my business is a society. Once you get into something that could quite frankly be delivered at that moment, if it could live outside the womb, and you're going after that date, when they start talking about pulling out after it's delivered and talking with I forget, what that guy in Virginia said remember that craziness. I do remember be the reason at that point that it has some sort of down syndrome or something. Yeah. But I honestly you, you know that pretty, you know that much earlier than that, because they don't I still disagree with pulling it out. And then killing. I think murder I mean, I think anybody fair minded. I mean a fair-minded game. Yeah, people were zealous on it either way. But I do know that I saw that one answer that he said, I didn't see the rest of it, but I can tell you this. It is a pretty easy run for cat over there. When you think. "But I would anybody said to me, what did you think of Pence, I said, I would have had a conversation and said, well, I thought he was a good or bad that how did but I would say I and I like certain things about him. That's crazy that you wanna do conversion therapy on people, their sexual imagine the presumption of want to say that, because that makes a pejorative, I guess, he's a Christian and he goes to health. He doesn't fight. He thinks black I can be in the same room with somebody like them in room with people I disagree with all the time. I don't feel the need to get up and walk out. Indeed. I feel like I give them a little too much turf showing them that they're that into my kitchen. I sit right next to me agree or not agree. That's one I don't agree with on gay marriage. I happen to before, but I certainly understand why a lot of people aren't, I remember Barack Obama wasn't. And that's the bullshit of the left for Obama said many times in public. He was not forgave marriage in those kids would have been there at a commencement speech. He was given crying looking for selfish looking up at him gleefully like they were seeing. The future, and they wouldn't walk that he wasn't for it till somebody said listen, we've done some testing better get on this, he jumps on it. All of a sudden, he's the prophet of, you know, he's Moses leading them up to the gate and that all that shit's tired to me. I don't know what to tell Pence. I guess Pence thinks he goes to healthy doesn't. What is it call to Iraqi late? I think was that great where maybe outage af ski actually made up for the soothsayer character on Howard Beale show back in the great film network because I've looked at word up. I cannot find it. Maybe somebody can send us a voicemail or something as some linguists or something. I think he's I'm here to or she says civil the soothsayer will Iraqi late. I always not Jesus that actually a word but I guess he feels that to get into his heaven or to avoid probably is most people are afraid of failure more than they want success. He's probably frayed, if he doesn't Iraqi late against that he loses his. Christian bonafides. I think that's crazy. And I like Christians, and there's a point you go to with it. And, you know, you should be able to just say, let's create a disagree, but to say that you think that they can convert don't agree with that. But I wouldn't walk out on them. And I find it tedious kids. Listen, you walk on enough things kids end up. Brian Wilson shitting fucking sandbox in your bedroom. You know what I mean? You can't leave the house. You best go out best do some things you best. Get some rhino skin, or you're not going to be germ proved against the crazy world. We live in with all the different strokes for different folks, and you're gonna come up whiny, and you eventually will be complete shut in so walking out, can I say this at this point, it just seems boring to me and that's coming from somebody who completely at least one aspect of his feelings about homosexuality. I e marriage don't agree, but seems like a minor rumble in the streets about that. And the other one conversion therapy. With him deeply find that off putting still wouldn't feel the need the walkout him nor should you because at some point college college is about they're going to tell you colleges about getting into masters or getting a four zero or getting a good job. College is about coexisting with human beings. Have nothing in common with some, you will they're friends for life, the rest of it is the joy of integrating yourself into a completely Fraga. Ethiopian Airlines Pilots Followed Boeing's Safety Procedures Before Crash, Report Shows

"Opium government is out. With a preliminary report on an airline crash last month that killed all one hundred fifty seven people on board. It was the second crash involving a Boeing seven thirty-seven max in five months. The report finds that the crew on the airlines flight followed all the procedures provided by Boeing but still weren't able to control the plane. Marketplace's Jack Stewart has been looking into what comes next for Boeing as it continues to work on a fix and try to restore the faith of the flying public. These European investigators looked at data from flight ET three o two's onboard recorders the data shows the plane dove hod several times before hitting the ground. This doesn't look good for Belling. I think this hurts them even more showing Nikki is at the center for aviation. Studies at a high state university he says the findings renew the focus on Boeing's 'em caste system a flight control program designed to push the nose of the big engines seven three seven max down to prevent a disastrous stole full investigations of both Boeing seven three seven. Max crashes could take a year. Investigators are also looking at physical evidence from recovered wreckage. That's a skill. That's taught in this. Los Angeles warehouse filled with twisted metal broken glass and torn cables in here, we have the wreckage of twelve crashed airplanes Thomas Anthony at the university of southern California uses these wrecks to train investigators from around the world to look at the positions of flack choices. Oh to read broken gauges. Let's take a look at this central control column. Here. Anthony is a full Matt safety official with the FAA. He's not involved in either the lion at all if yo- paean cases, but says investigators have to look at Boeing's entire organizational culture. Well, this is a very important investigation. Because if we just focus on the mechanical defects of the seven thirty seven max, we will not get to the root cause Boeing's already working on a software update and other fixes for the seven three seven max Jim corridor at CF our research says the company's doing what it can restore confidence and it's at craft. They did a test flight with the CEO Dennis Miller Berg onboard and the with the new software in place, and does seem to be working Mullen bug said today, quote, it's our responsibility to eliminate this risk we own it. And we know how to do it guessing that software fixed certified by regulators is still likely several. Weeks away though

Boeing, Richard Fuse And Dennis Miller discussed on Bloomberg Businessweek

"Boeing CEO, Dennis Miller, Lindbergh facing his biggest crisis yet following the second deadly crash of seven thirty seven max jetliner prompting some airlines to ground the best selling plane and sending the shares on track for their biggest loss since just after the nine eleven attacks. Richard fuse analysts an airline analyst of -til group on the positive side. This is unlikely to be a fundamental design part because frankly, they didn't change the fundamental nature of the seven thirty seven. This could very well be a repeat of the disaster with Mayan Eric in which case they're going to have to make modifications there could be a fleet ground day with therapy training procedure changes all of which gets quite expensive. And again, Boeing shares are trading Laura now by five point three percent. More on Boeing coming up right here on Bloomberg

"Bill cunningham. Dennis miller. Welcome live this Sunday night with the great American. Professor cunningham. Let me bring my friend. I love more than the mid south legend when I was a kid in Pittsburgh. We had a cat name reach. Drive the radio. Dial like latter-day colossus of Rhodes to know that you're that chat. And I did is. Nice to meet you. Can I ask you one question? I've always wondered about you. Well, let me let me get my mind together. Please go ahead. How do you order your skyline chili three way with little extra onion? I tell those at skyline chili in Cincinnati what I want I want. I want a three way. But I want about seven or eight speckles of onions about one and a half to two inches apart on the bed of the meat. So that way, maybe it's at three and a half way. And so I have a guy in Kenwood that makes me special skyline chili because that's the way I like it. I remember when Clinton used to be on the road campaigning in Cincinnati. He'd go in and Astras three way. And they'd say, yeah. But how do you want your chili? I had a good friend of mine. Who's now on the bench whose name cannot be mentioned. There was a famous restaurant in Cincinnati called the Maysonet, which is one of the great restaurants in the world and Billy boy was here about twenty some years ago and sitting next to him oddly enough was a very attractive blonde and emotion over to come over to him. That woman later became a still is a sitting judge in Hamilton county Cincinnati Ohio, and he made every pass in the book against her including a free ride on his Air Force One. Hey, get a ride on his Air Force One. And she fortunately turned it down. Well that case he wasn't talking about the actual plane. That's a nickname for not something else. And the the fact is Bill Clinton was set. So high on the one dog meter that he quite frankly would have hit on March shot at that point. Can I tell you a story about March shot? Yes, I guess I love a bit Mark shot story. Well, there's an event here in town called her mardi gras and it's the it's fat Tuesday. It's the day before Ash Wednesday and for many years March shot, and I were the king and the Queen. I mean, Dennis Miller to have to be the king and Queen Marge Schott is up pretty good. Good as it gets. You must've smoked forty cigarettes every walk. She smells like an ashtray. But go back a little bit. So we're on this throne. Leonard let around by fine Nubian slaves, and they were Bengal football players and thrown and she has an outfit on like a Roman emperor. Outfit all with a crown. I got no shirt on and she's seductively dressed and let around this hotel ballroom, and we get done, and she's drinking vodka gin like it was going out of business. Should we get done? My nickname was Willie. And she said Willie should we get a room? And I. And I said hell, no, I'm not the room. But I I was propositioned by March shot. The greatest story. What would you have done Marge Schott proposition? You what would you have done? I would've gotten all car. Road runner cloud. I seventy. Oh, I used to watch pirate games when I was young. I was always fascinated when they play insensitive because they feel that had something called the moon back. I remember Bob prince used always call a home run. He's that's out. It's up the moon. Dak it's out onto I seventy five in a pickup truck. That would have been. You'd be on a way that. Well, that's true. I mean when I went to games are grossly field out right and center field behind the scoreboard was I seventy five and you couldn't hit a ball of air. But Bob prince, you take Bob prince Marty Brennaman, you take the great the greatest ever, and Harry Carey and Vince gully and those are the four, but Dennis Miller let let's talk a little bit about the current political scene. I've had on a couple of other so-called, national, comedians, etc. And they talk about how difficult it is today because there are certain areas of life that you cannot get into those areas of life. Otherwise, your career is ruined. How careful you as a national committee about what you say today that you weren't careful before. I wouldn't say through the prism of the national comedian would say to the the of the sixty five year old guy who quite frankly. Done what I wanted to do. So I have a little bit more candor. Would I young kid trying to get off the pod no way that she should come out and be anything conservative? Now. I wouldn't I think it'd get screwed out there. But to me, I don't know. I'm kinda liberated by it. You know, my whole life. I'm sort of a pragmatist about politics. Trump, and I'm not gonna say Trump is Hitler. You just want to say unless you're talking about Hitler. Let's not call anybody Hitler Trump, and I see a thin skin cap. Who does some great things as president? And I will say this. Here's the most endearing thing. I find about Donald Trump. I think the Donald Trump's outer voice as crazy as it can be isn't entirely accurate depiction of his inner voice. Whereas in the last election, I always felt that Hillary Clinton dinner voice. An outer boys had never even had a Cup of coffee together. And I was so sick of that approach to politics. But I find Trump cathartic in some ways, I'm not gonna sit there every day and say, oh, this is the worst thing we're going under. No, I think he's doing some good things. I think he does them in a rough way does some other things that I don't agree with. But who who was life? That's everybody you run up against. But I don't know I grab he's president instead of Hillary Clinton. I'll just put it that way. When I was with a couple months ago, and I've said publicly and he said. He's wonderful. Absolutely wonderful wonderful cigarette service guys, I talked to say this the best guy we've ever protected. He's kind you calls people. He takes care of his staff is wonderful. And I said to Mr President. And he said call me, Don was Mr President are you capable of having someone screen your your Twitter account because about ninety percent of the stuff that you do actually do is wonderful. The Twitter account. He said let me tell you what he said on a good day CNN might have five to seven hundred thousand people watching him on a really good night. They might have one and a half to two million. He said, I got fifty million Twitter followers. He's so what I am is my own news agency. What I do when I say something or do something. I don't have to go through the prism of the mainstream media. I communicate directly to fifty to sixty million people, and they want to hear what I have to say. And I see no that's a good point. Is that a good point? Of course. It's a good point since Trump doesn't drink. I think sitting in bed and lighting up idiots on Twitter is his cognac before he dozes off one of the things. I liked about him is that he drives idiots on TV news absolutely apoplectic every night. I tune in just to get a little glimpse of me hopless U-boat commander. Wolf Blitzer standing there? The world's coming to flip it over to Juan Williams. He's always making that puzzled look like your Morrison when the cops are dragging them off the stage and New Haven. I go over watched Chuck Todd. He's slow like that happened slated Dilbert balloon outside a car dealership during Toyota's and I always say thank. Because you can say something about the banks. For me makes the right enemies. He lets it rip. And I'm thinking the economy, according to every objective standard in American history has never been this good every supreme court nominee every judicial nominee. I think it's been fabulous. And he was handed a feckless foolish foreign policy by Barack Hussein Obama, whether it was Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan or North Korea, Russia, Syria, whatever you want to say the war was in a meltdown. But now things are kind of stabilize things are so much better. And he wants to build a southern wall. How many walls are there among the Hollywood elite when they built a home aren't there, walls everywhere? Well, obviously there are but I have an idea for the southern border because as I drive around. I noticed that building a wall we should build a big mall and actual mall where we have shopping going on. And they rent a cops. From coming into the mall because the wall has just become a word now that they're gonna use against him. Of course, any place should have a border. Of course, everybody who decries the border has a border at their home or their office. It's just a silly to me if you're going to sleep with an fellow employees at a bad hotel in the middle of the afternoon, you have to scroll something on the desk broader of harshly should have you check in our southern border. And guess what? If we never did that eventually people would stop coming here because this country would be in trouble too. It's just common sense. They're making it out like he's an evil guy. But the fact is when you hear about one person like that girl on appearance San Francisco. They could write that off and say, well, that's just the math of it. And I watch that. Thing and it just broke my heart. There's enough evil weird bad things that happen in the country when you got a border setup much the heartbreak of one that probably shouldn't have happened, and they pooh-poohed that so quickly. I find that heartless. They always accused the right of being heartless. Look at that. And I think my God that goes just out on a pier. Nice name with their dad. She's gone, and it shouldn't have happened. We can't control much of what happens in life, but we certainly can control who's in here making making stuff happen. Dennis Miller were concerns me greatly is what Venezuela in twenty years from nineteen ninety nine and Sean Penn went down there with with with the great shelve as later talking about the all the glories of socialism by seizing industries. And then twenty years later, the human beings are eating grass in there. They've slaughtered their pets, and there's no Madison. There's no toilet paper. There's nothing to Venezuela economy. The strongest in South America has now gone. I see Mexico doing exactly the same thing, the new leader of Mexico promises. Socialism much like much like Senator Kamala Harris, what concerns me greatly is that what we're seeing is a trickle from Central America into enjoy our nation. If Mexico goes four bowl, full bore on Venezuela and twenty. Years be maybe one hundred and forty million Mexicans coming into America. Because the same brand of socialism, the failed in Venezuela is going to be employed now in Mexico, seizing industries, etc. And when that happens, we better have a big wall. The size of the Vatican wall to keep people out because of that collapse happens in Mexico, which is coming in the next ten to fifteen years. What will look like look like one hundred forty Mexicans move north. Ability. You know, you you're talking about people coming in on the road. And that's too far down the road from me. I'm just trying to deal with today. I live in California. I take a hike every morning around five or six now as I walk around my neighborhood, I run into infinite amount of Mexican people. We know each other now, it's all hi how you doing? I'm glad anybody's here. I agree. The country's built on immigration, but the country was built on immigration with a little mid step called Ellis Island. Can we check people in and make sure that we're not? We don't have to get genius as people get older, gene. We could just get good hearted people on a more than willing to have anybody here. But this whole thing that you can just flooded. It. I don't even have to fifteen years down the road. I can just think today. It just seems nonsensical to me that we don't have any sort of a coaching border..

"He had a I think what we kind and accurate to say a brief screen career kids shut comet. But well, but it was notable. It was listen once once a kid, I always think Jimmy dean didn't need a fourth film. If he wanted to be more. We could either fourth Filmer be mortal can stay with you for like forty years or anything. I haven't seen this kid since he was. Barucha or you can just move on after. And then I have nicer Haley, Joel, you know, people like, wow, they hit the ball hard when they were in there. Yeah. I know I it's like at a certain point. I guess it's not maybe it's human nature, or it's just the natural order things to take some people for granted who've just always been they're doing good work in the Irie. You just mentioned Joel McCrea. Yes, I was under appreciated and when interviewed in later years, he always said he always said that no one ever chose him. I it was because Cary Grant, it said, no. Jimmy, Stewart Cooper and joke in our house until several years ago was so Ebert said, no. And unfortunately now, we can't make that joke as easily, but it's that it's that kind of we speak to so many character actors, and our one of our favorite things is the overnight success. That's twenty years, right? How long have been telling us about Joseph, Gordon Levitt. It's been thirty feels like a thousand years going this kid alone. And we find it with directors all kinds of people they go do this guy. This guy might do something very Jenkins. Huge movie buff last year, finally people find out who he is. And it's a long time. I admire people who listen, let's face facts, movies are immortality and movies as a cosmic roll of the dice. It has to be perfect storm of looks charisma. Eagerness yet not trying too hard some aloof. It's really such a combustible mix who can predict. That I like ago gets to a certain point and says guess what I'm not going to be that guy. But I can have the job of my life. I can get a price. They can get my price for me. I can be on location doing being artistically fulfilled. And the guy who's always striving for that. Next thing is sad to me. But the guy says well, look at Gary Cooper, what am I gonna do? I'm I can't be Gary Cooper says op camp out of here on the fifth base camp boil water with the sharp sharpest he can plant the flag, and I'll get I'll get my name in the book. We saw we saw the front runner, and and you've got J K Simmons and Alfred Molina two of the best actors alive alive and finally in some K because Spiderman some people know Fred Molina, a little bit better with J K Simmons Durham moving fully that God at whiplash got him some attention these people where as soon as their on screen. They blow you away every single time was an only L for Bellina could be so weird that. He could induce Mark Walberg to be that stupefied heart. How far his life had fallen in boogie night. Melena dancing the Jesse girl orange. I seem to remember like a thong. Thrown firecrackers and to me it smart. I like Mark Wahlberg. But it's his finest moment without saying anything when they just do that slope. I don't know the words pan tilt, whatever that they go into his face, and you can see him looking reflected in his face is my God. I can't believe blow in porn of leveled me this low. I'm in this house right now, these two cats it all plays off, L forbids. So freaking weird out there. I think I think today's MVP. And I don't think anybody disagrees. Floated this this notion who's due for some sort of recognition is Kurt Russell. He's he's better than ever. He seems to be having a good time playing these character. Roles supporting roles, he's not carrying the movie doesn't have to worry about that anymore.
