"To do here. Yeah, I don't. It's sewed up. Okay, let's do a little football preview. Life advice email on the way out. All right, what's up? 26 years old, 5 8, 200 thick. I can't believe guys just being like, what was that girl's email address? Like, oh yeah, here you go. You go, Kevin. Here it is. Fire away. Yeah. Glad I could help. Please subscribe. Spread the word. Anyway, I'm traveling from Salt Lake City to Kansas City this weekend with the boys to see the bills verse the chiefs. My two roommates also known as my best Friends are both bills fans. Big bills fans. I'm no real chiefs fan, but I was supporting them this weekend. What? Sounds like a dick move. I'm no real cheese fans, but I'll be supporting them this weekend. One of those buddies of mine gets super amped up and likes to talk a ton of shit. I'm confused. Is he saying that he's not a chiefs fan, but he's going to be rooting for the chiefs while he goes to bills fans? To the chiefs game. So maybe he's just looking out for number one. Let's reread the entire message salt like to consider this weekend with the boys to see bill's roast cheese. My two roommates also known as my best friend's great line. Are both big bills fans. Stop, full stop. I'm no real chiefs fan, but I will be supporting them this weekend. I mean, that leads me to believe the way he wrote it. I'm wondering if you made a mistake. Because this reads as if he's going to root for the chiefs, correct? I think he's a bitch. I think he is. Yeah. Yeah. All right, well, I could just give you advice right now. Why would you do that? If you don't even care, like, ah, I'm just going to pull for the chiefs while I go with my bill's lifers, buddies. Okay, all right, moving on. As you said, run the buddies gets super amped and likes to talk a ton of shit and it obviously gets much worse once he's drunk, which he will be heavily this weekend. It doesn't matter where he is or what he's doing. He likes to provoke people and getting them to react to whatever bullshit he's whatever bullshit thing he's poking at them with. I mentioned to him that he's going to need to chill out a bit at the game so he doesn't get his ass kicked by a group of chiefs fans and because I'm his friend. I don't get dragged into it. Are you going to be beating him up with your other chiefs buddies? The entire email is thrown off by maybe just poor phrasing of that. He told me to worry about my fucking self. He's already drunk. Wow. And he's going to say whatever he wants to say to cheese fans. I'm not worried that because of what I said he's going to try to prove a point at me at the game and it is drunk ass getting whooped by a bunch of cheese fans. I do not want to end up in one of those ridiculous Twitter fight videos because my boy was running his mouth thinking nobody would step up to him. What are you and the guys think I should do? Keep my distance to something happens. Or do I have to be a good friend and back them up if shit goes bad? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Maybe throwing a couple barbecue suggests she's familiar with this scene. I was there for like 48 hours once, so I don't we did a live show, hung out with Dennis eckersley, went to the home run Derby. We were in and out. I don't even know if it was 48 hours. It might have been 48 hours. David Jacoby came up to me at a bar. I was like, hey, he's like, they tend to respect for you. And I was like, oh, thanks. You do a good job. I was like, oh, it's always cool to have people say they like you. He's like, I didn't say I liked you. I.

"Back to last year during the pandemic. Whole different generation saw that Scotty signed a bad contract that Mike did everything well, right, great and everybody else had flaws. But Scott is holding on to that. I don't know what his book is going to be like coming out this fall. But I'm curious. If there's bombshells, I'm assuming there will be because it feels like If I was able to sit in the room, and we had Uh, let's say a couple hours for three or four days where we're just talking that you could get into some pretty deep stuff and some things that he feels like he was slighted on. I'm going to guess that book will probably have a few more of these headline worthy stories there. We'll check in with Chicago's reaction to this. We often look at NBA players with injuries facing a catch 22 because If you play, you risk making it worse or you don't perform the way you should. And then people wonder why you're even out there and you got Trey Young. He's listed as questionable for tonight's Eastern Conference game against the box. He stepped on an official's foot, twisted his ankle in Game three. We love to romanticize the Kurt Gibson comes to the plate against Dennis Eckersley. Willis Reed is limping out there in the 1970 NBA Finals. You forget, will has scored four points in that game. He was named M V P. He scored four points. The Hawks are going to need a lot more than four points from Trae Young to beat the Milwaukee Bucks and they're already shorthanded going into this series. But this is It's a situation where what can you ask of Trae Young and without him? Can you generate enough offense? There was a comment last night made by Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson. And they're always complaining about this. NBA is a lot softer than when they coached and they played here is their comments last night. I am sick of the CIS ification.

"Not be many of. You are but those of us in saint louis. Baseball memories are just a lot of them. My baseball memories are filled with saint louis cardinals history and as i said many of us probably are to. Maybe feel you could care less about it. you know. I saw stan musial play. That saw bob gibson pitch. I remember being the game when the great late great lou brock broke the stolen base record as seen epic home runs for mark. Maguire and albert pools remember. Willie mcgee going over the wall. Rob home run for the brewers to lock down the nineteen eighty two world series. And none of us here in saint louis can forget about. David freezes shot to beat the rangers would to out in the bottom of the ninth and is so many more. I can just go on and on and on about the cardinals but there are other baseball teams as well and i've enjoyed over the years watching others teams play. I'm enjoyed many moments and many characters from professional baseball mostly so here are the moments the players the times that this old man carries memories with outside of the saint. Louis cardinals when i first started about this. The first one jumped out to me. And you call your is think about if you saw this. Nineteen eighty eight world series. Come on what was it. Yup kirk gibson's home run. Now was in game one. It wasn't a decider for the series. But it sure set the tone for the dodgers was at dodger stadium. Gibson didn't plays initially hell out of that game because he was injured. Both of his legs were hurt. The guy could barely walk but the game was on the line. He was called upon to pitch hit in the bottom of the night. There two outs. It was the last toke to keep the inning going. No way he was going to beat out at anfield ground ball they could probably thrown them out. If the ball was hit to the outfield on the ground. There are going to probably be able to throw matter first base. Who naturally their. I guess it was either home. Run or bust. Game is on the line. he was called pension. And that's what they're looking for was a home run. Dennis eckersley by the way was on the mount thing. I remember best about this moment. Was the call by the great vin. Scully how many of you can remember vince. Gully he was known for doing dodger games here on sunday game of the week and here from chinatown a gag. Call baseball like few others. He could paint net the watch. It you see it from the descriptions that he was given you so. I was watching this game on tv. But it's called just made me feel like i was there. I could feel the excitement as if you were actually at dodger steve. I guess this memory could be a double can mean both kirk gibson hidden home. Run and vin. Scully making that call. Both of these two things were forever entwined in incredibly impressive. Call in the homerun. Now you may remember. He hit a two run. Walk off home. Run against the oakland a.'s. Dennis eckersley as i said that uh homerun did win the game. The dodgers they won by five to four. I think but the iconic scene of the gimpy. How gibson hobbling around the bases is seared into the memory of everybody who saw it. And i can still hear vin scully's call describing this incredible event as we watched it unfold. That's a memory. That i think i'll remember for the rest of my life. That's going to be the single events of great baseball memories. Mark part the rest of the memories. I have for you are really i. Guess a tines. Maybe a person's career seasons kinda watching amazing things unfold and the first one. That would be up on this topic. When i was ten years old watching the miracle mets when the one thousand nine hundred sixty nine world series as i said i was ten years old and at that age. You just kind of getting into sports like baseball. That's what a ten year old does. I didn't root for them. That's my friends didn't match but we were playing baseball regular and we were aware of who that there was. A team called the new york mets. I remember a lot of things during the summer of sixty nine in there were a lot of things going on. That's a pretty famous summer right. A lot of culturally historic events occurring in nineteen sixty nine. The summer of sixty nine is made the lyrics of a few songs for ten year old. I wasn't all that interested. Things were like world in society. My friends and i played sandlot ball nearly every day. I mean there wasn't an espn. The only thing you'd find out about sports was a newspaper and maybe the evening news but most of the information we would get from per for professional sports league. Baseball was just from spreading the word around person person. An mets were a joke during most of the sixties and a bunch of kids from the mid west. We didn't even know who they were. And he did have a colorful manager. By the name of casey stengel and us kids were known to use the latest stingl. Azam on dimon never knew what the guy was. Going to say is very entertaining. Things didn't look like they're going to be any better for the mets. In one thousand nine hundred sixty nine they had been before they had a one hundred one shot or even greater to win the world series at your scrapped though all summer and hung around to somehow dramatically rally to beat the cubs in the national league east. That's what got the attention of saint louis kids because we're always rooting for whoever was playing against the cubs in this case. The mets next the mets to feed the braves in the nl cs to make it to the world series. And remember seeing it on the news. Famously casey stengel walking into the clubhouse after the big win over the braves yelling yes yes now at least know our names maybe all. Maybe that's the all time lows bar ever set by manager right. I team at least know. Know our names in the world series. The mets faced the baltimore orioles famous sixty year players. The led by brooks robinson member boo. Paul and future underworld superstar. Jim palmer all with the orioles at that time nets lost first game and it looked like the miracle season was gonna end quickly but They came back. They won three in a row and brought the series back the shea stadium for a decisive possibly decisive game. Five nets where the miracles would begin. Dorrell's took control early. Look like they're going to take the series bet. Baltimore air went three three to nothing late in the game. Now you've probably heard a story about the black smudge of shoe polish on the baseball. So what happened. Is the mets leadoff hitter. I think it was the eighth inning. He's called out on strikes but the pitch previous to the strike up pitch had hit him in the foot ball rolling in the dugout. The managers players retrieve the ball the next patriots a strike. He was out but what they saw on. The baseball from. The previous pitch was a black smudge of shoe. Polish wearing sneakers weren't baseball shoes that they would polish shop or leather shoes and polish lack policy. That they look good so the manager called those calls. Timeout goes off the empire and shows them the baseball. This got the black smudge of shoe polish on and say hey he got hit by a pitch before he struck out the evidence was preponderance of evidence was overwhelming and the umpire called.

It's unbelievable. And so I called him the other day FaceTime him after that BT awards. Hold on a second. Hold on. Now for the love of God. Wait a minute. I couldn't even get the story out, and I'm not gonna even tell the story now was ruined ruined his performance with Mary. J blige. And I noticed his body like method man. Maybe I am saying to you that if he was. Mike he was he was trending wants her FaceTime. Did he take the call? Seems like you had a busy night, and like, oh, Dan laboratories, call me and let me face them right now. Did you take it because I wouldn't do it even if I were friends with method man, I would never because pretty for the FaceTime, it's not like he can show his phone to someone and they're gonna they might know who you are. But are they going to be really impressed? Also, the face I'm doesn't fit your entire face. And he might be thinking he did on accident. So you never know. Every time someone face size me. Mr. man, is what I call him, always with the respect Hello, Mr.. Mam. Clifford. I'm telling you, though, I'm telling you thirty years that dude has been making women crazy women behavior on him the way men behavior on women. That's what celebrity does right now. This is a different thing, though. It's not it, you know, who else weirdly as aged really well Steve corral has changed his look. But people think he is now people look at him. And think of him as a silver FOX, and you never would have thought that in forty year old virgin, you never would've thought that he would have been in his fifties, a silver, FOX crown the hair, the hair, game, certainly improved on CPR L, too, by the way, Marcus Stroman re tweeted the video, and he said his comments are always trash. And then like one of these. What is one of those we're on the radio that kind of like a shoulder? Shrug, the hand out emoji holding things, also Marcus Stroman is five foot eight, so you were right in calling him a little dude. Yeah. And he's pretty good. Like I, I like him on my team. I, I wonder though, I would say, is it possible. Dennis Eckersley is calling this tire the idea of screaming at a dugout when you strike a guy out. He gave him the coming get some. I guess he was saying something else. But well he was saying come get some because there was some words exchange, Iran. You got a problem with me. Come over here. I got him in my initial reaction was Bumgarner. Because he's Bumgarner. He's chief, so much run over there and beat them up. That was my initial reaction. I was I sided with. I thought that was taunting him that I heard the whole story and felt a little I didn't know Bumgarner started. Well, he's saying, hey, don't stand there and look at it. This is the problem with baseball. Why is it that we celebrate all the other sports when you do something great? You're allowed to celebrate soccer goal. You're allowed to do that. You know, you can wiggle your but like Steph curry does, or you can look in somebody, you can dunk on somebody, and then say something to them, you can step over them football how you celebrate all the time. What's the one sport that has no joy there is no joy in mud Ville, and it has nothing to do with Casey striking out baseball, doesn't allow you to have any fun. Oh, you're showing up the pitcher. Well, what happens when the pitcher strikes you out is he allowed to be demonstrative? Dennis Eckersley used to use to point at you. He would he would punch out why don't we have any fun in baseball? You know, the old rules or you can't old school act like you been there before if I'm a kid and watching baseball, and if you've ever sat and watched a high school game. Like it's just boring. But in the in major league baseball, you're trying to sell this product sell it in a way that it's entertainment to in baseball is the one sport that doesn't sell entertainment. We sell the all star the homerun derby, we sell that it's great. But then when it gets to homerun derby, which is the regular season a major league baseball. That's all it is let them have fun. See pitchers are such babies. Who else is there like that the all you hear about is their routine like throwing four days? Instead of five. What are you crazy? You can't possibly ask a guy to do that. What, what, what, what about my retreat while, you know, I'm going to get thrown off of my routine because today I do long. Tosses. Okay. I got a pitch count. Yes, mclovin you UA. They should be more like soccer, were they fake injuries all over the field or like basketball where they dunk and celebrate and their guy runs down and gets two points. Come on old school stoic. Barry Sanders hand the ball of the official summit. I totally hear what you're saying. But like showing up the pitcher and pointing to him because it just you don't have to point to him. Yeah. But max Munk Muncie. Hit a bomb like, like at some point you get to admire your work. I'm not saying that Picasso's celebrated after every painting. But I'll bet he had some paintings where he went on. That's pretty damn good right there. It was the first inning. He hit a bomb..

"I you know, like it from scoring that scoring standpoint. But I it's I think I guess what? I would say what's what's hard in that spot. That's still that crash. Still would fall into the category of above average effort if he's if he's if he's making play. But it's it's yeah. I mean that that was I not gonna be a home run like as you said, Don described it perfectly because it was if it was helped and needed help getting over the fence. Right yesterday. The Yankees win with their B-team lineup. They have the Red Sox and the other hand lose double header. And yet, I think it was Jensen Lewis. The former Indians pitcher tweeted this out this morning as of today if the playoffs started today, the Yankees would be a wildcard team which and I thought about this. We asked the question is panic time for the Red Sox panic time for the keys the nature of the American League really keeps these teams plight because they're just not that many good American League teams. What do you think? That's totally true. I mean, it's you don't like the twenty that if the thing going in that I felt so strongly about was I felt really strongly about you know, the four teams I felt strongly about Boston New York Cleveland and instan- being locks, and obviously we're seeing how. Yeah. Maybe not. But I still think that if you you play on those two at this point. I I don't think the are gonna go away. So yeah, it gets it gets interesting because you're right. There aren't a ton of of teams that I think are capable of participating in contending for for playoff spot. Like, I think that you know, you add the twins into the mix. Maybe. But otherwise, I think that that's why those teams the Yankees Red Sox off the sluggish starts a sock suspension. It's tigers. Why those teams are going to be able to tread water. And then eventually, you know, get going. So last one for you. I watched Chris sale yesterday night tweet it out the middle of it. You know slider. Really good slider. His final line five innings. Ten strikeouts. Two runs allowed. He did throw ninety seven pitches in the Red Sox did lose again their own five, and it starts this year. And I thought back to the last year, I covered David Cone was in two thousand and he of course, it's been a great Yankee Ben at twenty game winner leader that team. And I remember thinking early in the two thousand season he was getting absolutely hammered. And as I was covering it. You know, he would go into a start and in the second inning. He would strike out to the three hitters thought. Okay here. Here's the turnaround right here. Here comes to turn around. And then at the end of the day he'd have crooked pitching line. He would get hit around. And after the fact I thought you know, what I didn't do very good job at covering that. Because I was in -ticipant ding, turn around. And I'm beginning to wonder if I've done the same thing with Chris sale where you see a great inning. You see great slider. You see a ninety seven mile an hour fastball, and you sort of cling to that versus the overall lines. Which is he's getting hit hard during that game yesterday. When he allowed a home run. Dennis Eckersley said nice things about sale during the broadcast. But then Secondly after the ninety mile an hour. Fastball was wacked over the green monster. He called that some tire cheese. And that's what we're seeing a lot from Chris sale this year. And I'm thinking, you know, what I gotta pay attention to the broader pitching lines and the results rather than keep trying to find slivers of good things in his starts. What have you seen in sale? It's an interesting one. So there are couple of things, you know, they've worked the Red Sox have worked on, you know, looking at his mechanical stuff if you saw your remember last year, if the just -ment that Kyle Hendricks made where you have some some body posture issues..

Maybe by a couple of hours from all reports that I've read about whether and I am no weatherman. Is gonna stop at one o'clock. So maybe delayed for a couple of hours to get the field ready. I don't know, man. Let's have a baseball game tomorrow. I will say usually like, whoever does the weather. I would prefer them to be like a hot chick. Do the weather now for me. "Is going to get creative in some way. Kick. I don't want either player at ten years like most Yankee fan seven keep in mind. I don't think they are going to break the Bank before. Aaron he's going to be a free agent after the, and you know, some way somehow ellsbury contract is gonna come off the books, even if they don't trade him after two more seasons. I don't see how you feel. I think he came coming Yankee Stadium. I think he played centerfield. But Jay said judge said he'd play centerfield. I know I know. But then again you have that high on the minor leagues. If he does pay out you're not going to be paying a lot of money. So I guess my biggest concern is the left handed power. I was without Machado. But I I just weird next to she has very little left handed power would have come back. So maybe August, July, whatever the only the only lefty bat, you really have is Hicks when he when he's hitting that believe. And Gardiner if you could send him a power again. Gonna be a role playing there for experience. You know? Maybe he'll do the young guys the whole bit. I don't think it's brought him back. But I don't think they're going to be very. On either one of the. We'll see what happens. But you know, if you get one of those guys offer particularly for five years if you will do it. It's gonna be interesting. Retrain retraining can open those two guys you're going to be going to some you know generic camp. Unsigned. It's a real mazing. I really really is. I never thought we got to believe they haven't gotten to deal yesterday while of the team that they want to go to there's no mention of anything. No, no hint. That's strange for. No nothing other than Harper's met with the giants. I mean who knows nobody seems to be offered any money just say eating. Well, let's go to Mike in Vermont. Mike, what's happening? Warning. Tony great show. First time, I've called you. And I really enjoy your your take on sports. But really appreciate it. Welcome aboard. Yes, sir. Bill James said that Frank Robinson should not have been the MVP. Earl Wilson should've got it in nineteen sixty six you have you seen that? No Earl Wilson the pitcher. Yep. Built James who get a chance to only look it up Bill James. He's a cyber Titian guy. And he the war stat he said that Wilson had a better war. So he should have been the MVP. Dennis extra Eckersley, another red sock employees somewhat. He tweeted to shut up. So I. Dennis eckersley. I'm looking. Sixty sixty six. Yes, sir. It was thirteen and six with a two five. Sixty six zero Wilson was eighteen and twelve what am I looking at it? They get the Earl. American league. Okay. What was with the Tigers when they went to the World Series in in sixty eight correct? I'm saying in nineteen sixty six when Robinson was the MVP James. He, you know. Okay. Sixty six he with Boston and Detroit eighteen eighteen and eleven with a three point two four innings. You can't you can't go against some somebody who won the triple crown. Wilson was okay. Out two hundred and two forty to sixty four eight hundred eighteen and eleven with five and five with Boston and thirteen six with Detroit. I don't think that gets it. Let me real quick. Let me see how how young. Good Lord Novo society on. Well, let's go to Mike in east Rockaway, Mike you're on the fan. Hey, how are you? And the coffee in Myrtle Beach, and listen to teashop the temperature. It's going to be chilly today. Tomorrow yesterday was seventy four days going to be like a twenty degree difference. I got my my sweatshirt on to back to back. Right. Today, the last forty five minutes or so, and I'll tell you what. Daddy. Mike Robertson, wrestling piece. I saw him. What I was the last game sixty nine series. We I made the catch we paid eight dollars for standing room. Only tickets at that game and someone brought up revert Oklahoma day before too. Nineteen sixty eight you're in the ninth grade. I was in the eighth grade when they filled in the movie couple I was at that game. The first time I so Roberto Clemente. And the last time I saw him was seventy one where they had those spandex uniforms. That was that was a year before he died humanitarian effort, but I'll tell you what going back and a lot of classic games. It was it was good times. And as far as the contracts go, you've touched upon its long term contracts with Machado and and hop up. Nobody has signed him at all and nothing wrong with that. But why not like you said a five year contract? That's probably trying to figure out. I mean, you know, when you tell your client. We're getting hunt ten years and three hundred million and people on anywhere near that. You you you gotta what's all fallback back. You probably didn't even have one. Maybe. Who set the bar wasn't the owners. It was the agents. There you go. Now, you gotta deal with the age. And you know, what is the last thing? I said the friends what do you think Yankee fan playing catch? You know, what's going to be the GM for life something? It's like he's been there. Twenty some odd years last year and could have very easily. I mean, everyone saw what they needed frontline starting pitching. But we'll see what happens. I think the Yankees got enough firepower that they don't need anymore. Home run. It is that's for sure. But touting I'll let you go. I said it a couple of years ago. It's not like a one two combination with you and richardneer back to backs up, right? Right. I appreciate I appreciate look. I think I think the Yankees are done for now. "So to me we met her someone by the length of their career, but especially October and this guy for what he did as good as anybody in October. We're having a discussion Tom before the show has any athlete done more with like one thing. You know, the fact that Mariana through the Connor and nobody could figure it out for two decades. I said Kareem skyhook I feel like there. There are not many athletes. A lotta times you're forced to reinvent yourself over and over again, he he didn't have to his self was just so lights out. If he does not get in unanimously does that matter to you. It doesn't matter to me Maggie. But I'm hoping that he is because then we can really kind of put this thing behind us. It's sort of a trivia question. Anyway know Griffey came within three votes of big unanimous. We still don't know, by the way, the three writers who did not vote for Ken Griffey junior. And listen, I don't see there's any reason why you shouldn't vote for Marian Rivera. He should be unanimous. I'm hoping that he is. So that we can just kind of put this to bed. I realized voting has changed over the years, and you know, demodulators mandolin, Barron, all these guys weren't unanimous. That's for a lot of variety of reasons that really don't apply today. So it's really not important to me other than let's just be done with it. So you don't have to keep talking about it. Because if we don't we'll be talking about it next year with Derek jeeter. What what's remarkable to me? Tom is that I don't think we all realize how special it is for him to be getting in today because it's not often that you get someone who unquestionably did their job. Better than anybody else. And there's so little debate about it. I could not find you a person today that will tell you that there was a better closer in the history of the game. I'm glad you said that Chris because you know, it's probably not good for sports talk radio. Because a lot of what you guys do what we enjoy listening to is about sports debate. Right, right. We'd love that. But I agree with you look around any sport, you know, finally, somebody their positions their job who is unquestionably in arguably, I would argue the best at what he did. And if there's anybody else, it's a very short list. But certainly, I think that's true in baseball. I don't think there's anybody at another position in terms of what their job description was who's unquestionably. The best the way that Marianna was. One thing I've always wondered about we always used to hear the stories about how Dennis Eckersley never left his locker after game one of the eighty eight World Series until every question was answered house Marianna after two thousand one in game seven, well, I was there in both of those cases and after both lockers Atkin Nady eight and Marianne in two thousand one and the same way. I mean, you're talking about waves and waves. Think about how difficult that is. Right. I mean, it's hard enough after the this championship. There's not like there's no tomorrow. You lot game seven of the World Series. How hard it is in the immediacy of it. There's really not a cooling off period. You're in there. A couple of minutes after the ball just landed in the outfield just to answer one round of questioning takes a lot right? And then just think about waves and waves because there's five hundred people trying to get to your locker, and they can't all here at the same time and Marianna the enemy of class just took it. I mean, he never lost patience. I I don't know that anybody left without getting the Nassar from now the answer probably stayed the same throughout the night. But I'm telling you, it's not a surprise, given everything we know about how classy this guy is. But again, that's when you find out the real measure of a man when things don't go well, and especially when you have to be so accountable, and I put Marianna up there with just about anybody. We're talking to Tom Verduci, the network coverage MLB network hall of fame. Coverage starts at three o'clock, you mentioned about the unanimous decision salmon, and hopefully he gets in just to put this all behind us..

Jim Thome who'd had a can o Jim Thome e who should be on everyone's all time. Looks like you should be on your softball league team Griffin, rip Chipper Jones. And Trevor Hoffman. And we're in the funny Marty when you get to certain age, it's like the guys you watch their entire career another. Yeah, it makes me feel really old. Like what those guys are going in. The hall of fame, right? Trevor Hoffman was the I was he liked the first real closer. I guess maybe Dennis Eckersley might have been the first real closer, but Hoffman was at the guy that I remember that came in and just therm nothing but smoke. Yeah, and but then like got crafty and he's of the group. He's probably the most is numbers are crazy, but of the group. He's the one that people seem to have the most reservations about, but he was there man like there was who else were the lease? Myth lease myth hall of fame, John rocker, John rocker. John rocker lasted a second, wasn't he closer though? He was starter was who's closer goose Gossage hit Googlers. Goose was the first goose was the first one of my life that was just was like just came. Just came in throwing smoke and. Yeah, but those closers were the best, but then but then you had the guys that were like great and then weren't so great. Like Bruce, Bruce suitor closer, Billy Wagner. Billy Wagner was the man son? Yeah, Billy Wagner grew up near me. He's from tazewell Virginia. Went to Fareham college. The little teeny, tiny Fareham college, of course, Moran Rivera, but goose was the one hour reduces the one that came along and I thought and then other ones, though there's some other ones that are scaping me right now that. When unique personalities when we look like maybe not kids. But as we were getting on towards high school college, they were some guys, I'll think of it as we go. I'm still working on joslin. Trying to think. Francisco rodriguez. I mean lease myth, I love Lee Smith lease. Myth is a really good call man. He's tall. Yeah, right. Eckersley was the guy probably though. Yeah, see. I'm so old armor when he was was a decent starter, but. Why didn't he? Yeah, you break. I want to Braise about small malts basically two different careers, which is wise in the hall of fame so. So bring up del Murphy because of the peace right Thompson road and full disclosure, I'm sitting in my office right now with a framed portrait of del Murphy, like standing in front of the American flag, holding his golden glove. And so, yeah, if you grew up in the part of the world we did and this is the super station era. And I, I knew so much about the cubs and the Braves, both because you watch them on television every day. You watch cubs in the morning. Watch brazen night. I went to a cubs cubs Braves game one time with the church youth groups that with girl, and I thought she would be impressed at my overwhelming knowledge of both teams and all scare. I mean, because if you watch both of those teams every single day all summer long, you know, every summer of youth it became will you know when Rafael Ramirez the plate and I'm going well, you know, he really struggles on so. And so or about Bob Horner. Yeah. Bob Horner, Jeff, Treadway Jeff Treadway. Wow. Cam Zane Smith?.
