"But when they didn't find the classified documents, and they are taking things out of the office, why? The Democrats and the administration have a lot of questions to answer because the American people increasingly just don't trust them. And they don't feel like they're on our side. I mean, do you feel like they're on our side to think that there's now a rule that parents can actually get the medical information? Of their own children, if they're over the age of 12, because these things need to be hidden just in case a child thinks that they want to change their gender, the administration thinks it's better that doctors have involvement rather than a child's own parent, no wonder people do not trust the federal government right now. It's gotten so heinous and pretty despicable. And there's no real appreciation for reality anymore. I'll tell you, Americans, we're not like that. We don't believe in big government. The whole reason our country was founded was to have a smaller system of government to have more ownership, for ourselves and our communities. That's the way it always has been and by the way, it's done pretty well by us. And that's what we need to preserve. We have an expression you've heard me say this before in New Hampshire to live free or die. This whole sense of freedom and being able to govern oneself is so incredibly important, and it's why government does need to be kept on a very short leash, and this is something that many, many, at least growing up in the state of New Hampshire Democrats I knew believed in as well this was not a partisan thing, but now the left has taken this to winning winning winning and winning means having more money to spend on more elections. And more handouts, and thus they've totally destroyed, in my estimation, the intent of what this country is supposed to be again personal responsibility. "So. You'd have to go back in time for quite a while to actually see any relevance from the fixed income market compared to equities. It's the reason why you may have seen recently in the financial media headlines. They're debating this whole 60 40. Allocation of one's assets into the portfolio because the thinking for years has always been 60% equities, 40% fixed income. I've never loved that ever anyway, because I think you need a lot more diversification than just stocks and bonds. You need stocks, bonds, precious metals, real estate. I mean, there's lots of different ways to be able to build your wealth and so you want to be diversified in that sense, but I've never liked the idea of losing money. You know what? I've never been a gambler. For me, investing should be slow and steady. I would rather not risk all I have. I mean, it's just I'm the kind of person that wants to be able to sleep at night. And so as a result of that, I've always sought some of these more traditional fixed income assets. And I've been okay. With getting less of a return, maybe less of a yield than you'd get in equities, knowing that, okay, I'm not going to lose my shirt. However, I've also been thoughtful enough to say, okay, when the market's just getting killed like it was in spring of 2020. This is sort of ridiculous, and the fed's going to be there as they were not only were they there. They were their way too much. So I knew the fed was going to be there. I knew that everybody was going to get stimulus checks. It would be okay. The danger now, however, is that they were there, and they were there, and they were there, and they just wouldn't go away, and they get printing, and more and more checks kept getting handed out, and thus I have been banging the table sense oh, what do we say? Like, summer of 2020, saying stop, stop with all those printing because I knew this would all happen. And sure enough, we are where we are now. So yeah, I do like bonds. I do like fixed income, and I think interest rates are going to continue moving up. And so you're going to have the chance. This is the good news. The silver lining in all this, investors listen up, you're going to have the chance to actually have less risk and a decent return. We have not had that in forever. So that's good. I'll tell you what else is good, and I'll tell you what else is a great return on your investment if you would. If you are a pet owner like me and that is rough green. "The question really does come down to who's going to be the Republican nominee. Anyways, we look forward to 2023. I think it's going to be a challenging year economically. We're going to continue to be dealing with mass inflation. I think the Denmark analyst has appointed the Forbes contributor who wrote that he wouldn't be surprised to see it at 4000, included some of the reasons I outlined to earlier coupled with the fact that China now and I talked about this the other day, China has been buying up a lot of gold in ways that they haven't certainly not since 2019. So if you see more and more foreign entities as they grow more nervous about the world, going to non dollar denominated assets, things like gold, then you'll also see some upward pressure on gold in that environment. Anyway, the most important thing for you is an individual and as an investor, I think is really understanding with a realistic sensibility. The challenges that are out there, the opportunities and the challenges, and you kind of get to be able to cut through this noise. There's a lot of noise out there and both political parties want you to believe something or think something. And the truth is you just need to know what's really, really going on. So when I told you inflation was coming back in, oh, let's see what August of 2020, I wasn't kidding, and I remember taking a little bit of heat at the time because people were like, hey, you know, you gotta be thoughtful about the pressures that people are facing because this was still, you know, when the economy was shut down, et cetera, and I said, look, yes, I get it. People are facing a lot of pressure right now and what our government did, and I stand by this was just so flat out wrong. We needed a strong economy to fight that thing and to shut us down like they did was just to me sort of incomprehensible. You take care of those that need to be taken care of, but you allow the economy to still function for everyone else. So we got ourselves into this mess. We're still in this mess and this mess isn't going away. In fact, I would suggest that we could be looking at a kind of lost decade, really. And so you need to be aware of these things you need to be positioning your things and it's a lost decade, not quite like we've seen in the past. This is the last decade with runaway inflation, factor did, that is my view again. I'm not your financial adviser. I have to always sort of qualify all of this, but I encourage you to just be thoughtful about understanding your own finances and making sure that you are prepared for the long haul, and there's lots of great ways to do that right now. And as they keep raising rates, you're sucking more and more money out of the economy, which has to be done, but if the economy is not unstable enough footing to handle it, then you're going to get that recession, everybody's fearful of. Look, I've made the point that we were in the classic definition of a recession. I think we're going back into it. And I think this time it's going to be worse. So be on the lookout as we go into 2023, it could indeed be quite challenging. So you want to make sure that your portfolio is healthy, you want to make sure that your healthy and here's an interesting segue for you. "Outside and just looking out for themselves and their family seems to be Harry and Meghan or maybe not their family. They're not really looking out for the family in terms of the broad family. This is just unbelievable this documentary. I actually haven't watched any of it. I've been very, very, very busy here at the Miss America pageant because I judged all the prelims and I'm judging tonight. So I really haven't had a lot of extra time on my hands. And not that I'd ever watched this thing anyway, but I have read the reviews because the country seems pretty preoccupied by it. And I've read the ratings, which are quite good on the second one anyway. You see, because that's what America likes, they like fireworks, and they like a hot mess. And this is one big hot mess. And it's unfortunate in its sad in some ways. It's perhaps better that the queen doesn't have to see this because I think she'd be totally devastated. The sense of duty, the sense of loyalty, clearly, like that doesn't exist with this crew. They're all upset because you know they got put in some cottage on the palace's grounds that was just unacceptable, apparently Oprah came to tea and Oprah was horrified that they were living in this little cottage, people wouldn't believe it. And you know, Meghan Markle probably had some very big ideas about where she needed to be, what she thought royal life was like. Look, if you know anybody who's British, they did this crimp a little bit. They're not like ostentatious. They do like to garden. She was complaining about that. They thought I was going to garden well, yeah, they probably thought that because a lot of British people really like that and they're actually not as flashy as the LA crowd. She couldn't really get her head around that. I don't doubt in fairness to her and her husband. I don't doubt that the royal PR team when there were challenges and maybe somebody else had screwed up. Maybe they fed Megan to the wolves because this is what happens, right? I've seen it happen over and over again, including to myself. I mean, that does happen within organizations. And they're like, oh, you know, there's this really good story over here, but maybe we just feed them this little thing. And that'll distract them. So that does happen, and I don't doubt that. But I think this idea that she couldn't work through it or she couldn't really try and forge a path forward. That's tough. I mean, she just really gave up really fast. And so then we went into the depths of the depression, market loses 85% of its value. What does the fed do? Oh, it comes up with the bright idea that somehow it just needs to pull money out of circulation at that point. So you see what I'm saying, they're always a day late and a dollar short, they always get it wrong. That's the one thing you can probably really and truly count on. So they're going to get it wrong again. I said all along, they never should have left rates this low for so long, they never should have engaged in that much money printing for so long, but they did. And now we're going to suffer with the reverse because eventually instead of upping rates at a more active pace when they needed to, they're going to draw this thing out forever and ever. And we're going to wind up in a bad spot, which is one of the reasons why I do say, listen, you need a diversified portfolio, part of that diversification for anyone really should include an investment in things like gold. A lot of people like silver as well. I mean, I've always looked gold historically as just one of those ways to help measure out some of the fluctuations in your portfolio and also help protect the purchasing power of your U.S. dollar, let's face it a dollar isn't what it used to be. "So Twitter's back up and running, you can, I guess, feel free to say what you want now. And a lot of people I've seen a lot of friends who lost their accounts, they have been restored. That's all good, but will it matter? Again, there are other alternatives out there. I'm on true social as well, parlor, of course, has come about and had its own set of challenges. There's locals as well. I encourage you, by the way, you can follow me on locals at Trish Regan locals dot com, where they really are about promoting this freedom of speech within a decent way, right? I mean, we're not talking total craziness, but the ability at least to have an opinion. And in this environment, it's gotten hard. If I tell you to consecutive quarters of negative growth for our economy, means a recession, then somehow now I'm questioned by social media platforms for false information. I mean, hey, look, no recession is the same. But it used to be the definition of a recession. Now you can't say it anymore because Joe Biden doesn't want us to. I mean, that's scary stuff, folks, all right? And either side of the aisle. Remember that? Because it can just as easily be the Democrats that they're going after next. As they should be, I mean, when you think about some of the things that have been done, who's the other one, the one that had the friendship with the lovely young woman. Fang fang, was it? From China, that's kind of something I wish I could forget. Anyway, we can't. I would argue rather compromise position there because she is alleged to have been a Chinese spy. Kind of strange to him to have him on the foreign affairs community here in the Intel committee. So I think that you're going to see a big revamp coming of some of these committees where there are sensitive positions and you have people that maybe don't like Israel or have had questionable relationships with people like fang thing. Are going to come into question and as they should. And that's going to result in some changes. Look, I think we need more responsibility in Washington. I really do. I think that people are shooting off their mouse in ways that are unbecoming, frankly, to themselves, and to the nation. And we've got to remember, in fact, who our allies are, one of which, of course, major ally, being Israel. So there's an important some important things that are going to be happening. And I'd say, in that sense, very good things that are going to be happening. But they're not going to go down without a fight. So gear up, be ready. "So I'm sketchy on all of this stuff a vague, but there's a missing 1.7 billion. $1 billion is that accurate? I can't say if it's accurate, but that is what is that is what the latest reporting is. Absolutely. Yeah. How do you misplace $1.7 billion? Well, the funny thing is now they're talking about this about the potential hack into the system too after defraud story came to light. So I have no basis for this other than intuition, but to say that that hack seems mysteriously well timed. So guys guys being investigated now for fraud being scrutinized for fraud for himself misappropriating those funds to his affiliated hedge fund from an exchange that it was operating for customers and then suddenly there's a hack and I think that it strikes me as a little convenient to sort of say that, okay, the hack is something that we can blame because that's something that's outside of all of our control when in fact at the very moment for two years there wasn't any report of a hack. But now there's a report of a hack right when you are being investigated. So that did smell a little bit to me. But the facts on this there are changing by the day, changing by the hour, but does this lesson, I think, is actually less complicated than each of those detailed facts might invite. And I think that it's pretty simple. Whether it was cryptocurrency or anything else, there's just a guy who's operating in exchange for customers. And you can not use customer money to without their press permission to advance your own financial trading goals. Period. That is a hard line. And whether you're regulated or not, that is an illegal act of misappropriation of theft and then fraud and lying to the people who are you stealing from. So it actually in a certain sense has nothing to do with cryptocurrency has nothing to do with crypto regulation. The only double irony of this is that if it is actually been operated as a truly decentralized exchange, this guy couldn't be done, the thing that he did. And so in a certain sense, the crypto Ness of this let alone the morality of this is all just a deflection, the smoke screen from the essence of what was really nothing different than just an old school Madoff esque fraud. And is there any anything more than just trading into Fiat currency? Becoming in bed with Ukraine and the main bank of Ukraine to trade cryptocurrency and get it into Fiat currency. So people could use it. Do you think there's a money making scam in there as well? Well, I think there's no doubt that there is in all of crypto exchanges sort of money laundering element to it. In the sense that you're using the supposed anonymity of these exchanges to be able to launder money that you otherwise have not been able to launder. But that's not unique to cryptocurrency. "Anyway, back to the fed for a second, because they're going to, through this 6th interest rate hike, which we're looking to probably 75 basis points, three quarters of a percentage point. We're going to see an impact. We've already started to see an impact. I mean, we've had, but here's the tricky thing. I mean, you're seeing an impact in that, yes. People are getting more nervous. Yes, the cost of everything is still going up. So therefore, if inflation is still at a 40 year high, what is the fed really doing? And do they run the risk? Of taking money out of circulation at a time when the economy really could be facing something. Truly, horrific. Think about that because I told you the other day about how they've screwed it up over and over again throughout history. I mean, go back, take your pick. All the way back to really those early days of the Federal Reserve. And you even think about what happened in all that went wrong in the 1920s leading up to the crash of 1929, which were, you know, we got an anniversary of here, or we just passed, I should say, at the end of October, and what you see is you had a Federal Reserve, the back then always did the wrong thing at the wrong time in the 20s, when things were good. They just kept printing money, put more money into circulation, and then in 29, when you had that big market crash, they were like, oh, maybe we overdid it. So let's pull back and they took all the money out of circulation and create a whole host of new problems for themselves. Now, none of these are ever the same, right? That's important to recognize. So you can't look at those and say, okay, well, we can do exactly what happened back then and get this result. It doesn't work that way. There's way too many factors. But I can say this. They screwed up. Just like they did in the 1920s by in 2020 handing out way too much cash. I mean, what was it? $6 trillion, $7 trillion, and you factor in what the Joe Biden government was handing out as well and you're looking at definitely upwards of $7 trillion that got fed into the system. Printed money. And so naturally, the cost of everything went up, and now as you try and suck all that out, well, here's the deal. You can't. You can't without having major, major problems. So let's talk about what it will mean for mortgage rates for car rates. For everything else in just a second, but before I get to that, a little bit of good news here, I just want to tell you about my dog fluffy, who, by the way, looked absolutely fantastic on Halloween. The kids dressed them up. The only problem. I'm going to be honest. The only problem was that fluffy got a little too excited when the trick or treaters came to the door. He thinks he's like a giant giant watch dog, but the truth is, he's just teeny little tiny itsy bitsy. Fluffy Maltese. Hence the name fluffy. Can you get it? Anyway, I like fluffy to be as strong as he thinks he is. I like fluffy to be as strong. As I think he is, therefore, it's one of the reasons why I care so much. When i i watched it I i put a number four out of all of them I thought the Was definitely unique in the characters on character design was it was pretty cool and i like the back story of the of the south to and i thought that car i was was really cool character and i liked what he was like what he stood for like. He didn't really care for sides he just sorta did what he thought was right in the moment. Yeah yeah i thought that the grievous medium was strong with this one. More light sabers right. It almost felt like. Have you been watching the marvels. What if i have not now. It's almost like an episode of what if they took one question and built a whole lot to set around you know dot is the whole point of what if for marvel. What if you know. A child was star. lord's dennis black panther. What if you know ironman never got to be. You know things like that. This was what if lucan off for the most part. We're born into the empire's control or something like that a force died at. I hate that term but whatever they're gonna wreck down our throats might as well use it. I also thought that the light speed split. The last jedi was cool and it was neat to see replicated in this episode. I i really like the. Heavy like are do all in an alternate reality are two you know and yet this was just a what if of lucan lab but if the emperor got i feel like ends luke you know still was good but he started off bad where he was kind of like drawing the line and he stayed good as just nature versus nurture is.
