"I'm talking about throwing the ball down the field. Not these check downs in two yard dump off the Pat stacks. Remember that AFC championship game nine hundred eighty two against San Diego Twenty-three below with the wind chill. I'm Ali, by the way, boomer sizing and replacing Ken Anderson as quarterback. That's right. It course, trysts comes which was catching past driving guys. Happy anniversary shack on this day. Ten years ago teamed up with Jabba walk for a memorable all star game introduction dance shacks seventeen points in eleven minutes, ended up sharing MVP honest with Kobe. But this intro, this is like the greatest thing I've seen in the last twenty five years at the all star. Game. Frank, Mike you, and I were there Shaquille O'Neal was made for all star week. And he's an entertaining really these here. He's holding court right here right now happy trails to Olympia trailing by fifteen at the half. And the Greek Cup SIMI's David Blatt team. Just didn't come back. This didn't come back to the corner. Frankie and the players were upset with the rest and just booked the team that benefited and Vance Rick Pitino's Panathinaikos Frank. Could you ever see this happening in the NBA two? Former NBA head coach is Rick. What could win for him? He wants to get back home one emission who announced today. "Do you think he should have tried to talk to one of these Eastern Conference GM's who obviously were trying to make a bunch of trades, right Milwaukee? And Philadelphia and Toronto and said, hey, you want Anthony Davis for to play offs worth? Do you feel that the management should have tried to make a bigger effort there? You could have did something different. I mean, perfect example rates. I was there the night. Boogie got hurt. I was at that game. And seeing that team they they had a great good. They they could have made some noise. This was just a year ago. All this happened in a year. And I it just goes to show that everything he's been doing there. It all it all blew up at one time. And it's obvious that he could keep a stop playing. I don't know. It's hard to say, I know that Anthony Davis feels like he had to ask for this trait that he gave them enough room. But of course, there's a lot of frustration in New Orleans that felt like, hey, you should have given us at least the still the summer. Right. Have you guys been in that position where you were trying to decide how how much you should make your unhappiness known with your vision? And I was able to watch premiere last night. Bulls days. Yes, I understand it. And I don't think is right for any organization to hold a player against his will. If you don't wanna play there. I know that as a player we signed contracts, and we have to honor those contracts, but things change it's and when things change in your life sometime you have to make changes and Anthony Davis going through something that I went through in my career. But I changed and went on back and do what I had to. It's tough to know because I know you've all had conflicts with front office. And it's tough to know when you push the button and say, okay, I want out of here. How public do you make it? It's complicated. I star player because there is so much hanging out with the locker room chemistry your loyalty to your teammates. There's always room to go back in. That band-aid on. Situation might situation with a lot different. I was winning. I was in a great situation. I was playing with a great player for great coach. So. My situation was different sound like Anthony. You you saying that this year's pelicans are not like your your mid nineties. Both. Funny. I do want to talk about the premier your last night was a great ESPN project coming up in twenty twenty Michael Jordan documentary. Michael Jordan, of course, the majority owner here of the Charlotte Hornets and his story from our Brian win Horace earlier in the week reminded us that LeBron James does plan to own a team Sunday as well. In fact, the athletic had a story saying the he already has the money in arrangements in place that the day he retires. He is ready to bid on an NBA team Scottie. What do you think would change in this league? If more players got to run the show, basically this is like if the players were in charge. What would change won't be on? Holland see a whole lot changing. I mean, you're talking about changes were Michael Jordan the greatest player in the game. One most popular players able to play our game. Obviously, he's in a smaller market. But. His impact and his popularity in his brand has been able to just help grow the game. But I don't see any other player bigger than Michael that could help the NBA out in any way. I mean, everyone has the work onto the CBA. And there's no one more popular than Michael, Jordan. And the fact that you know, he can't get free agents to come to a small market makes it difficult. But I mean, you never know. I mean, I don't see any player going to a larger market and being able to make an impact because most players leave the game. They don't want to stay in it or keep their hands. And they rather let someone manages because they don't want to take the fall. I do think is LeBron becomes an owner. I think like with them day. It'll be a real high profile thing would definitely be a great owner..

Minute to play in the water with a step. The way you have so much style on the court. You have great flair where did that come from. I don't know how I played like these the time since I was young. So I I was I explaining how do you notice this crowd react into especially when the way games? Two hundred inches. Somebody's some people change from means. It's. Tennis. I hear that when you are going to Miami. There's gonna be a crazy Slovenian crowd between you and Goran there. What do you what do you get out of there? There. How did it? Go. The guys that I work with the former players like Scottie Pippen or Tracy McGrady. They say that it's very obvious when they watch you that you want the pressure of the last shot, you want to be the one that it all depends on and you're not scared of it. You take me through. What goes through your mind is the clock is going down a close game. Are you on? I have the confidence of my team-mates on my team. So I got on half. And I love they can you. I liked it. What about dark? What is it? Then like playing with him. Oh. Amazing dissolved I'm very clear, and he's in and so that's a lot. "Our next UFC fight night Sunday with former heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez an action nine PM eastern on the main event on ESPN and ESPN deport says our guys welcome back to the junk. We are now joined by clippers big men on. I love mantras that we are studio at the jump is across from the Staples Center. So we both left the same square block in LA here to have a conversation at Charlotte, which is perfect summarizes NBA all star weekend. Clippers currently holding the eighth seed in the west ESPN's VPI says you guys have an eighty two percent chance of making the playoffs now conventional wisdom would say, hey trade away, you're leading score and Tobias Harris. And if you guys don't make the playoffs you keep your draft pick. So there was a little bit of like, okay? Maybe they're not gonna like make a push to make the playoffs. But Doc Rivers came out the next morning and said, you know, the guys on this team we are playing to win. Are you ready to come out here and say this team will make the playoffs? No, it was a big shock to us with trade, and you know, everybody, and we really didn't know what direction they kinda was going. You know, we got a lot of my locker room. And Pat, Beth not a veteran guy. Lou Williams, you know, who went to the front office. They ask the guys where they wanna do, and what was kind of going, and you know, we still making direction they're going to making the playoffs guy. A lot of great guys back in the trays that we did young guys in Ajay that guys. And the thing about us. You know, everybody says that we try the way I leading scorer, but you know, Tamaz early disqualify statistically. But you know, any given handle telling who's gonna be leading score. Because people talking about the outlaw shot best player to me. Lou Williams our best player. I don't think. I didn't think Tobias was I think the way I play together and the energy you bring the scoring Lou brings the ethanol deep is Pat brings I think that collectively can't get you out to the play offs. I don't I didn't think Tobia Tobias is a big loss. But which I have the way outplayed intensity the way. I love the game the way you play. I think that it gets out because a lot of teams don't play as hard as outdo doesn't feel like a world because I just like you say, you know, we're not going to back down from anybody. I feel like, you know, with the trade that half, we got, you know, in a sense tougher. You know with the guys that come into lock guy wasn't talent who comes in Brian that tough mindset guy. Played in Philly got another guy. John Michael Gray who play down there. Memphis, you know, hem anchor at temple were were number one and two and defense oppose for two years, you know, straight. So you know, you guys a lot of guys who come in the locker room and it's going to help both offense and defense..

Noted by the game. I was joking. I was like member rock and jock back in the day where they rate they bring out the twenty point basketball. It was worth more maybe shoot from the sideline. Otherwise how much they put that. Now. I'm a time you might get desperate. I was co co coaching with Michael Jordan. And he was like, oh, I'm not planning. I'm not playing. And then halftime we're getting smoked. He was like, okay. I'm gonna come out and play. I I gotta tell you. It didn't help that didn't help at all. Have you looked over your roster or you come of it? How much pressure is there at new to win it here in Charlotte? Definitely a lot of pressure. But I don't really feel it. I'm just more excited just for just for the city by city just winning for Charlotte. Excellent. I mean, like there's going to be so much emotion here. I know countless talked about how he's playing on Sunday. And all that stuff. What is it like around the city? What have you noticed ears? Also rican. There's a lot of people. I haven't seen this many people in a long time. Fans. They definitely came out for for me and Kemba and everybody around all star. So would that be say what happens if you don't win it? Definitely be a letdown. I'm gonna do my best. So how'd you like how many weeks ahead of time? Are you planning your lungs practicing trying to figure out something crazy someone to bring on the court with you? Oh, you know, an NBA Susan you never really have time. So I really just practicing this week. I'm feeling pretty confident though eight bringing anything anyone on the court with you that we should know. We'll see about that. So you you can't say a year ago. You were thinking about doing this contest. You didn't do no practicing in the bag. I watch a lot of dunk contests open. I do any any breaks into milliard. Right. Well, good luck. Devoted to you. It's going to be a really fun couple of days here in Charlotte. We love having you stop. I always do. He's come back up lily. All right up next. And those who to get it to the proud want to see Michael do it. And he certainly does. Hanging out with Pablo we hear a few minutes to discuss what's next for Colin Kaepernick? Terrence for off goes baseline or the huge averse. I don't know. What do you think we should just call this dunk, the Kobe miles you're in the dugout on does? But do you think? Whether we come on now. It was nice. I was right there. There you go miss caring Russ walked into last night's game in a Valentine's themed outfit. I don't know. How he got that giant heart onto the airplane? But apparently there was a pair of shoes in there that was all like care bear themes. It was very good. So do you get these exclusives? What does this do this? I get like a year later. That's how exclusive. His walking in outfits, though, are pretty crazy Scott you guys didn't do this back in the day. The Ford to just like this. I heard that there were actual Valentine's chocolates in there as well. So, you know, this brand not sparing any expense except apparently for the holes in his shirt make industry dances in technology. This was just this morning at the NBA tech summit, Adam silver, showing off the ability for fans to change the name and number on the jerseys. They buy I don't know. "Don't know if he left the building. No, that's then then he left the building. I'm happy for the guys that you know that played the game. And we want to tell you the truth. You know, this whole thing has been a dumpster fire. Did the gel? From North Carolina. These sites of NBA also retail. We have all kinds of the gas coming by today. Then Simmons is gonna hang soup bird will be here mantras zero miles bridges, but we're starting right here on set with our NBA insider Adrian merge announced he two thousand three NBA camp. Stephen Jackson, two thousand four NBA champ Rushie Wallace, the people Noah time, it is a hundred percent, right. You guys all heard at the top of the show Alvin gentry called the whole situation with the pelicans and Anthony Davis a quote dumpster fire. Not what you want from your coach that was after Anthony Davis suffered a shoulder injury during last night's game. Which was fortunately, not found to be serious. But he was ruled out for the rest of the game eighty then left the arena with his agent Rich Paul while the game was still going on that caused a lot of confusion. I actually just spoke to rich. He's here in the building with us. And he said a was leaving to get an MRI. Why since they don't have an MRI machine in the building. And this was under the direction of the team physician, but nobody on the medical staff told Alvin gentry I don't know of anyone told del devs because this morning, you sent shockwaves through the NBA with the news that the pelicans have indeed fired general manager del Dem's, the pelicans one one playoff series and Dem's entire nine year term with the team. So we've had discussions about his job security for a few seasons. Now what made it happen today? Well, the his dismissal was inevitable in this off season. It was coming and they had already started to get a sense of possible candidates names. My sense was this was going to wait until after the all star break. I do think the events of last night sped it up. But this was coming and their goal of this organization now is to this. Anthony Davis trade will be the most important decision going for this team. It's going to impact them for a decade to come. What do they get back for him? Then who gonna get back? Draft picks and who's going to select those players and who's going to set a new course for this organization. And so they're out in the marketplace or the first team in the league who's out in the marketplace looking for a new GM, and I'm told they're going to be willing to spend and they're going to be aggressive to try to bring in a high profile or whether it's a high profile or certainly a high performing GM candidate. I mean, this is a team that is owned by the Benson family. Gale Benson is running the team. Now this saints are their main opposition. And there's been a feeling in the NBA the pelicans in minute a little bit of a step child. Are you saying that they're going to take a more active approach when you say they're willing to spend hire an experienced GM? Also, I do think they've spent on salary there. They've Alvin gentry makes a competitive in base salary and a smaller market. I don't think it's been spending. I think they've been the decisions that Dell has has made to try and surround Anthony Davis with a supporting cast that was sustainable long-term. Listen, they've missed on a lot of draft picks free agent signings. Go back to MIR Arctic Solomon hill. They've overpaid for players who haven't performed and then go back to the DeMarcus cousins trade they have really nothing to show for it. And they traded a young player in buddy healed who if you put him on this team right now, you know, he'd he'd help solve a lot of their problems. So I think structurally and how the roster's been built how they've drafted develop players. These have all been issues, and it all came to a head here almost a decade with an organization into only Vance in the playoffs..

"I think they could start by coming up with the real policy in terms of fines and kind of like a public stance on this stuff because the parking ticket philosophy of just, you know, digging Anthony Davis for fifty thousand dollars, and we'll see if they even find porzingas for what is sounding like behind the scenes trade request. You know, that's not gonna dissuade guys from doing it. And if you think it's a bad look for your league, if you think it's a bad look for competitive balance. You're right. And you're gonna need to come up with something a little bit tougher to make sure that that doesn't happen at the same time. This feels like the kind of thing you can't really legislate away. The players have been really increasing their power and influence in terms of how teams are put together over the last five years, especially and so you do run the risk of being sort of the old, man. Kind of shaking your fist at the clouds. If you're going to try to start slapping them with all these penalties knowing that it's not gonna stop anybody from doing it, not only not legislated away. But again, there are a lot of factors to consider here. Where in a lot of senses. This is really good for the league. And the league has never been more popular and has never driven more news and interest than it does. Now granted it's doing that. With actual basketball. There's just kind of crazy shit going on behind the scenes that everyone finds a dick. But I'm I'm into it. You know, more fireworks? Here we go. This is we're not even at the week of the trade deadline yet. God knows what could happen with Anthony Davis. So I guess that's a good place to end. It is looking very upset. If the wizards trade, Bradley Beal tonight, this all started with you broach again because I did their bit some cryptic reports. Like, there's another bombshell about to drop tonight. So we'll see what happens between now and Friday. Yeah. No doubt, the fireworks that we dealt with this week have overshadowed the lantern the lantern will make a triumphant return next week, the real tragedy of the porzingas trade..

"I would not have any second thoughts about trading him for poor. Porzingis for Anthony Davis. And if I were the pelicans, I'd say not like sorry. He's not going to anchor the next era of New Orleans basketball. Let's good way to get us moved to Seattle. Another gambler what about prestige is there any way presi can sneak in on this? I've wondered about press prestige. I don't see it for. Okay. See the one that's gotten thrown out. What about like, Stephen Adams? Would you trade Stephen Adams and other pieces for a chance to rent Anthony Davis and just send the message to Georgian and Russell Westbrook guys were going for a title right now. We've got the best big three of the NBA. Okay. Maybe not the best. But in that conversation. Yeah. It would be in the conversation. Look the deal. I would make if I were. Okay. See and again this isn't happening, but it because it's not fantasy basketball, but I would put Russ on the table and say. Sell tickets like we'll send you west. We will take. Davis put slide him next to Stephen Adams. He's always said he doesn't wanna play center for some reason. So we're just gonna roll with that, unfortunately, feeling real life, and you can't pull that off with you. If you trade Westbrook and the thunder fan base for Anthony Davis in the pelicans fan base who says no right like wouldn't both teams just have to swap their organizations because thunder fans would not want to cheer for the thunder anymore after losing Westbrook. Even if Davis involved, and the fans seemed a little heartbreak heartbroken, and and you know, in their feelings about this whole Davis thing, which is totally understandable. Yes. And that's actually a point that I probably underplayed at the top of the show when I was about the next I understand people who just loved porzingus and had had more fun watching him. They had don't walk it back still occupied. You already gave the lecture to the expanse. Don't try to circle back say you understand their feelings. Now, I have no sympathy for anyone given what the wizards are looking at for the next couple of years. That's just where. I am sorry. It says more about me than you guys. Let's finish it off. I have a question for you. Because like is. Kevin durant? A winner today are the are the warriors winners like where do they fit into all of this? What do you think? I mean, I think Katie is a clear winner in the warriors are clear losers. I think that's pretty much in arguable for Katie you want to have the clearest possible landing spot in New York. "I'm also wondering though, when you look at the way, they structured this porzingas deal with New York being able to get off so much money. You think New Orleans looks at that and things. Okay. Yes. If we do have to trade, Anthony, we've got to get rid of at least one bad contract to that's sort of a bare minimum part of this deal as well. What do you think? Why do you think they need to get rid of a bad contract? Just so that you can be you're stuck withdrew as we kind of talked about most likely his contracts going to be really hard to move. You're going to be entering a rebuilding. Phase. No matter what you're going to have to pay Ingram. And and ball at some point. If those are the pieces coming back and your parting with this major asset and acid that we can both agree is much better than porzingas. Wouldn't you also want to get some cap relief out of that trade? In addition to just the players and Japanese coming. Maybe it's interesting. That's one of the reasons I think that I understand people cut a second guessing the value of someone like Lonzo or someone like Ingram is they are going to be due for bigger second contracts because of the way they see themselves in the way, they're perceived around the league, and like I wouldn't wanna pay those guys fifteen or twenty million dollars a year, whatever they're going to be asking for. I think that the cap relief aspect for for New Orleans is less pressing in part because like I don't know what they're going to spend that money on if they're not going to be trying to contend or whatever that wouldn't be a priority. I will say in general just like the porzingas completely overshadowed all of this. But I only loved the freakout from Lakers fans for the prior twenty four hours when del Dan del Dem's wasn't answering his phone, and then you know, Lakers Twitter was. Really like they had worked themselves into a tizzy where I saw some people saying that the Lakers should file a grievance because the pelicans aren't negotiating in good faith. And like the NBA is a covenant where all these teams agreed to deal with each other. And it was just incredible the reaction to the idea that the pelicans just aren't going to do a deal with the Lakers, which I think is actually kinda reasonable if I'm New Orleans, there's real parallels between the way the shutdown was covered in those negotiations and the way these Davis trade talks are being covered. And we could probably just leave it there. Everyone can read between the lines. But yeah, it's great. I love it. I cannot get enough of the Lakers reaction because I would say Lakers fans right now are in one of two cans where there are probably like twenty percent of Lakers fans who are being pretty realistic and are kind of rolling their eyes. Lebron and are disillusioned with what the team has to offer in traits and kinda sir cast about where all this is headed. And then there's the eighty percent contingent. That is just like the pelicans, oh it to themselves and they go to the league to do this deal. And to do it in the next week. Everyone can see this. They should be negotiating should come to the table pickup. Magic's call like I can't get enough of that side of Lakers Twitter, the freakout has been on eleven, but the one thing that could have pushed it even further is if we got true reports about another team trying to swoop in on a rental like I feel like Toronto could. Be a real boogeyman here because you know, if I'm like Masai, PASCAL Siaka draft picks, maybe another younger player they've got multiple younger players like you could construct a deal that would allow New Orleans to turn the page in the short-term get something back, and you know, basically get the ball rolling on a bigger rebuild in terms of trading off the guys we talked about miratec teach and Randall as well. Right. So that could be a boogeyman. I'm sure we can imagine some other teams that you mentioned Denver on the last podcast that could try to you know, angle into a certain situation. But we haven't had a team be trying to. Yeah. Another team where it's like take take your shot..

"Reports and shops reports and just trying to piece together each situation. But you'll note that the the Knicks were clearly the ones who leaked the details of the like tents meeting earlier in the day Thursday, and it made it serves them well to act like Kristaps was the diva here when I think that they were probably more open to dealing Porzingis all along I think it's also interesting that they basically just thanked him in the same breath is Trey Burke, and they didn't go on and on. Because sometimes when you trade a big player like that you make a point to really emphasize off his contributions to the franchise. They did not do that. I think that's telling as well. So on the Lakers front, though, Andrew we had reports of contact between the pelicans and the Lakers, and you know, it sounded like one offer that was presented by Magic Johnson to Dell Dem's was coups MMA Ingram, Lonzo zoo, Bach and a first round pick. So basically, everything except for heart, and except for like a second or third first-round pick that's sort of where they've moved the goal line to if you're Dell like, you know. Apparently, the the state of the conversation is he may call them back with his interest in that offer. The other offers if you're a Dell how interested in that specific offer, are you? I'm listening because I think that's about as good as you're going to get from the Lakers, and they're kind of like mishmash pile of assets that you've got there. If I were the pelicans, the one thing I would be trying to do is say, all right. Like, no matter what you're going to give us two firsts in the mid two thousand twenty. So you're going seven years out. You're going five years out because I think that's the furthest out you could trade draft picks. And we are going to take a flyer on where you guys are at the end of the LeBron era that would be my strategy if I were dealt dense, and then in addition to that I would want the first this year, I would want three of those young guys or maybe four like, I don't know. I wouldn't want zoo Bach. I would want heart. I would walk who's Ma I would want Lonzo. When I will. I want Ingram. And like if you're the Lakers, I don't know how much choice you really have. But just sort of like bite the bullet and put all those guys on the table. I mean, do you agree. I mean, I think both sides should be interested in the full package everything. The Lakers have to offer should be appropriate for the Lakers to handover and appropriate for New Orleans to be interested in..

"And like there are risks at play here. But I stop feeling sorry for yourselves. Knicks fans your team just cleared out seventy five or eighty million dollars to go win a title. And to me someone who might team hasn't won fifty games in literally my entire life. I think you guys should all be more excited than you have been church church. Take him to church. Is not granted to any of you people any of the emails have gotten fucking get excited. Sorry. That was awesome. It's been months as I say this, but Andrew Sharpe reports. All Knicks are soft. They need to. They are look, and I understand all this plays. Well on Twitter the woe is me act. Like, oh, God, the Knicks again this team doesn't know how to rebuild they do know how to rebuild. All right. You don't win titles with draft picks almost nobody does it unless you draft Steph curry the best draft pick of the last twenty-five years. You just don't do it. And so go science superstars, it makes sense. You guys are in the game goal taker shot, you know, sorry. No, don't apologize. Keep going go. This is the best best rado. We've added months. I'm just over here. Sorry, losing it. I've just seen one too many like thousand retweets tweets being like God. The Knicks are at it. Again. I don't get it. This is a smart move. I feel like the Knicks are bringing the New York out of you like I need to fuck master flex just dropping bombs on. Boom, boom, as you're going along here just painting the self improvement plans for all Knicks fans. I mean, it's it's really something. How do we even pivot away from that? Should we talk dallasite? I mean, no we should do. We talk about stocks and investing. All right. And it will go talk general winners and losers from this trade. So first off though, today's podcast is brought to you by Robin Hood, Robin Hood is an investing at that lets you buy and sell stocks options and cryptos all commission free..

"There's still a chance that Katy after all of his hemming and high all these reports decides, look, let's run it back and extend this dynasty and Golden State or there's the possibility that he decided to do Lakers with Braun go sign with the Braun. I don't think we should automatically right. Katie to the next. That's my only point there. If those two guys don't move your second tier stars. If you're the Knicks are like Kemba Walker Tobias Harris that type of player, and my understanding just from sources, you know, league sources, whatever you wanna call him is that the Knicks strategy is basically go big or stay home this summer, they want spec that they want the A-listers there now in position to make a really hard push those guys after clearing out basically thirty million salary for next season. But if they don't get those guys their concern is okay. Maybe don't settle for the second tier players. Right. So in that scenario, they would just be. Be the youngest most rickety roster coming back with you know, let's just assume they don't get the number one pick. So they have to settle for RJ or somebody like that. And then they're rolling it back in basically shooting for like fifteen to twenty wins at playing that playing that game. Right. So the disparity here between making the finals with the big three of like in their prime all and being the worst team in the league. Like, it couldn't get any wider in terms of the best case in the worst case could it. No. And I kinda love it for that reason. And you know, it's funny because when you threw out that worst case scenario, I was gonna come back and say, the real worst case scenario would be signing Cambe and Tobias Harris and say, all right. Well, we took our shot. Now, we're going to go win forty five games and everybody get excited like Kevin Knox will be the bridge to our new era. It's like all right. Come on guys. Like, all or nothing makes sense to me. Me because. Another reason to do the porzingas deal because if they struck out, and then it was porzingas you'd be winning forty five or forty six games with. That's the best case scenario. How who knows how healthy he would be? But either way you're still not in the title conversation. And then porzingas is probably still unhappy in that scenario. And so you've got to deal with the problem then too because then the young guys that you're bringing in aren't ready to help porzingus go win, and it's hard to build the right way. Which like, I think that's part of the reason a lot of Knicks fans have been balking at this. Because they thought they were building the right way and building slowly. And what I would say there is like, well, they're bulking because they're prepared for this worst case they don't want to even dream about the best case because they're Knicks fan. So we can we can understand that. Right. Like, it's our job as no independent. Can't. I'm sorry. We can't understand it. Like Knicks fans have a little backbone for God's sakes. I've seen Vance Vance. freaking out on Twitter. I have a God damn wizard spin. Okay. I have no backbone. I have no reason to believe anything will ever work out because free agent still wanna come to see free agents have never given us a second thought in the last twenty five years, you know, what the Knicks with eighty million dollars of cafes are gonna have a shot at all these guys. I agree that kyri to me. I think the real worst case scenario would be tying up like one hundred eighty million dollars in kyri and having him injure his knee two months of the season..

"But if you go there with the second star or you go. There with a couple of other really quality supporting pieces that's a team that can immediately leapfrog back into the conference finals or the finals conversation in such a week conference over there and the AAA Eastern Conference, right. So that could be another idea, which is we have to get rid of Tim Hardaway junior and Courtney Lee by any means necessary. And there are no other assets really in the full there. So the the only asset to make that work is to sweeten it up with a Kristaps Porzingis and get everything you possibly can get back from Dallas, those are the two explanations that I see and it's possible. Both are true. Right. Yeah. Absolutely. I think that both are both were probably factors that played into this. It is kind of funny. If you go back to the last episode where I was talking about getting ratio by all the Knicks fans for having the gall to suggest that they might trade. Kevin Knox to get off. The mark. Which by the way, the Hardaway deal. He's making nineteen million next year. He's making twenty million the year after that. It's not great or no he's making nineteen million this year. And then twenty million next either way, let me ask you, though, would you if you could have done it over would you have swan bigger and just said trade porzingas for Capulet. So you can get Katie. Really milk the ratio. What do you think? I would have had the goal to suggest that one. No, it's crazy, man. It really is. And the craziest part to me is like, you know, again, we go back a year and a half ago. There was that that week around the draft where rumors began to swirl that Phil Jackson was considering trading porzingus. And actually, I have to be honest with you you, and I were recording podcasts at that point. We were both in New York City. And I remember I had this nagging feeling even then that it wasn't the craziest thing in the world to think about trading porzingus because basically they were talking about potentially getting back to firsts from Boston that was one of the deals that was rumored, and and even then you had Knicks fans climbing up the walls at that rumor saying this is crazy Phil has to go. He's lost it..

"Well, sure, but that you've got to put more than that in the deal you had to put worthy. You know, what I last night I fell asleep, and I did not do the worthy clap. I'm alright and playing golf with the word the end Wednesday. I will get the details on the words clap. All right. I'll try and get him come on the show wins. Yeah. I want. I want. Because everybody has their own sort of. Way of doing it. Yeah. I will get you. I will get the important details for you. And give you have plenty of Lakers gear weren't today wearing the Lakers two shirts. Thank you knew. Anthony Davis would come up for sale ability. No, I put it on because Anthony Davis was up for Vail Bill in. So we've had a lot of reaction to this today mainly from Ramona, and Brad Turner who have opposite takes on this Ramona feels that it's unlikely Anthony Davis will be traded by the February seventh trade deadline. What by the way, you want hear something strange? You know, what I'm going to be on February seventh? New orleans. I'm going to be in Boston for Laker. Celtic oh will be much gnashing of teeth there. Yeah. And so remote thought she I've heard from many people that follow the Celtics that they would not put Jason Tatum in a deal. Ramona says they would she thinks in and she was quick to point out. She goes, this is opinion not reporting. But I think they would put Jason Tatum to deal. Brad Turner thinks they've got to move Anthony Davis sooner rather than later. He doesn't think they can leave that cloud of the franchise. You know, it's it's like it's one thing to privately tell the team. I would like to be traded. It's another thing for it to explode across the NBA and for everybody to know it and for every New Orleans fan Denault that Anthony Davis is just a shorttimer. Yeah. Here's an interesting question. Anthony Davis is is is he's injured right now. I was thinking the same thing. He's injured right now has he played his last game in New Orleans. In other words, even if you don't trade him, do you do do the Carmelo to them just say, stay awhile? Didn't Brad Turner say that that injury might be chronic in lingering EFI stays on New Orleans. He's got no real incentive to rush back at that point, man. This could be an extraordinary two weeks. They could involve Super Bowls, and parades, and trades trades and parades. Yeah. And Saddam was coming in here next. We'll get into it in in purgatory Sodano, loves NBA trades. Probably be ready to explode purgatory. Now, what is that? It's like a death bell. It's no that sounds like the beginning of Elton. Joe it is the funeral for a friend from Mario this you ever heard the song funeral for a friend Elton, John. That sounds like the beginning. I've got a terrible funeral for a friend story. Oh god. When I was at a radio station in Toledo that I've been a program director for it. It's a wrestling entrance for the undertaker. Okay. Very much does sound very program director for a radio station in Toledo, Ohio. We played top forty and on a Friday. I heard that the general manager playing funeral for a friend really really really like eleven minutes long building. Right. It was really loud. Yeah. Monday morning format change we found out. "Game. David Stern recently did an interview with Sports Illustrated. Who was it? Christopher Christopher sort as he was Sports Illustrated. Now, I don't know everybody is okay, just said with Sports Illustrated, and they'll Dem's who I believe is still with the Norlin. Pelicans says in the story has been this two thousand ten has been the president general manager for the the pelicans actually I played with Dell. Dell was I think what to Pacific, and he was on a when I was playing the warriors. He was one of the camp guys they came in. I mean, obviously trying to make the team didn't super nice guy. Really nice guy always liked del. Anyway, they were talking about the nixing of the trade because Laker fans were pumped area. Get Chris Paul they Nixon trade than they traded him to the clippers for probably. I mean, it's probably a better deal. They're going to get Kevin Martin Luis Scola from the Lakers and then for the clippers. They got Gordon Alfred amino
